why is je 4/13 not capitalised?

Why is Jew allowed but not Jewish ????
Aaand, of course, I just tried Jewish. Heh
I think jew is allowed because of the derogatory term to "jew" someone down (in a sale). Hello Matty, how is that baby girl doing?
Great! She's home now, bloods and MRI came back normal - fine, no problems. She's (slowly) putting on weight - given she was more or less born dead a week and a half ago, she's doing AMAZINGLY well x
That is wonderful. You all must be so happy and relieved.
Oh, so very much! Last week, in truth, was a real roller coaster - she's so far away and the stresses of lockdown, WFH and everything else - it's SO great to have what is (fingers crossed) a regular stream of good news
Thank you Matty for some positive news. She looks gorgeous.
I think so! At some point, I'll shrink a more recent, at home photo for my profile pic x
Our granddaughter has had to postpone her wedding!!
Thank you!
So good to read the latest news of Tilly .. Yay!
Wes (their black lab) is confused, but he is as daft as a brush
This grid looks to be a bit friendlier than yesterday's.
Hi Bea. I have been lurking for 45 minutes.
Things any better for you?
Not until we have a vaccine next year. The virus is out there and anyone could have it.
Until then, we keep taking precautions. Do you think states are being to optimistic in opening things up?
Oh, yes, it is too early from a health perspective, but the economic pressure is ruling.
You and I will do what we have to to keep our mommas from this.
Absolutely!
good morning all! help please with the W in right column
Hm, I have none yet, but will look.
I have 16 from the other W
Me too.
we4.13 & 5 expression of relief
I am stumped and must get ready for work.

The other two are wr6.33 and 7.48 ghostlike image.

smish isn't a word...
bl
Smish, sm5 Bea was making a sash, long about a Saturday night
I see by your new icon you are doing some virtual shinrin-yoku. =)
I meant to put something like that up for Arbor Day and then forgot. So belated.
Hiyas, kiddos.
Greetings to Judi and her fresh squeezed fun foam balls
Freaky, aren't they?
The annoying orange thing is very disturbing
The end of April is upon us. May it also be the end of April showers.
Amen. I am so freaking sick of rain.
...and March winds... and February cold.
It was a cold, wet April. And I mean cold, not cool. What is up with three freeze warnings in April?
Yes, it was bizzaro April for sure.
Now that May is here, I hope I can plant some flowers.
Me too. I have one hanging basket so far and I have taken it inside for the last time. If we have another freeze warning, it dies.
NO! Save your flowers. They are innocent victims.
As were are cacti that we schlepped in and out three or four times.
I'm like that too, Judi. I felt bad pulling up my pansies to plant summer annuals.
why is je4 a word but isn't with the "ish" ending?
The ish makes it proper noun. The je4 can be used in reference to cheat someone.
... I think because the noun is a proper noun ... this is the verb (offensive)
Sorry Bea, but that disgusts me.
Yes, it disgusts me as well...
I mean no offense.
Oh sorry Bea, I know you didn't mean it that way. Just in general it is so offensive.
* gazes at the clouds * Gee, the sky is looking kind of bluish today.
unfortunately this word as a derogatory meaning verb is still in dictionaries
And it will remain in dictionaries. Dictionaries define words. They do not discriminate between "nice" words and "not so nice" words.
sadly..but too true
Yep. Molly is correct. The "J" word is right in there with the "N" word, the "K" word, and let's not forget "cracker" and "honky" while we're at it.
You could say that the dictionary is all-inclusive.
Words are only offensive in regards to their intention. If you refer to a female dog as a bitch, no problem. Call a woman a bitch and you are in different territory.
Bitch, please.
Context is everything.
I cannot imagine a scenario in which to "jew" someone is nonoffensive.
What I am saying is that defining it is not offensive. Using it as a verb, is.
Jew's harp, wandering Jew
hello
hi mlf
hi bichon
Well done, Bichon. My mother used to love that plant.
It could be called something different. Jews haven't wandered in how many years?
There's probably some fancy Latin name, but what fun is that?
It is actually called Spiderwort.
does anyone have a word coming from the w in the last column/
wh4.13 and 5.28
As well as wr6.33 and 7.48
Actually, spiderwort is Tradescantia, different pland
ty bzz

Both are in the same genus.
does the ma9 start with ma4 something you get from the post office?
Bea, you are correct, but they look entirely different
No ma9

clue for the ti9 please?
Pasta again tofay, mlf?
ti9 is plural of the ti8
we have leftover pasta but didn't eat that yet
today was pork loin and hash browns'
The ti8 is a compound word and you can get it one your own...it is simple.
bzz I don't have either so that doesn't help but I assumed the 9 is a pl
?
Just look for it...
is it from bottom t?
It starts from the bottom t.
i was about to ask that
ok, so pretty sure what the first part of the compound has to be then
but i sit a 3 or a 4?
bea, I only have 4 a's left, can you believe it
The entire word is on the left side of the grid. Not too hard to find.
I'll just let it come to me later, mlfan, if she says it's easy.
Thanks Bea, I got the ti 8/9 and also the 2nd part of the word which I hadn't seen
Wow, Carla. Good job on the A's!
whoops, just discovered the bottom a :D
of course not seeing any there but I did finish the 4th col one looking for bottom
oh well, 80 left after first pass. was able to get at least halfway on everything but that bottom a.
my quilt is ready for binding - guess I will work on that for a while and then see if any new words jump out.
3 AW for bottom A carla
got aw5
AW 5,6,5
well, the other 2 were hard to see, but I got 'em, thx
did not see those w's either

I will come back later.

11 of the 21 tiles complete
I found a t9
ti9 .... two metal workers
still trying to find that stupid st. moving on though.
yeah my last st was a curly one
12 tiles done
I'm close on only one other one, the h :D
completed that one
well?? which one am I missing?
the ha5?
yes!
I'm guessing that's not an everyday word.
nope
you have most of it already though
got it, thx
yw
I have seen that here before, but of course can't rem. it when needed.
i still don't have that ti word yet...just getting back to grid again..
not sure if Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt was one, even if they did "share" a name ;)
... nice clue!
finished yet mool?
28 to go
still 57 here
is that for the 9?
wa6 - when you see a proper noun try it anyway
I'm starting to feel like a ni6 about that ti8
well you are one but i am sure if i ever find the ti9 i might feel like one too ?:)
thanks? LOL
ti8...metal and the most common last name in America
you didn't get the clue for it below?
thanks, phae. did not have the 2nd part of that word yet!
ty and hello phae
yw
I didn't get any previous clues, ru. I said I was a ni6.
i figured it was those first three
I thought the Angelina and Brad clue was clever
oh ok
that was clever .. i agree
hokie did it rain there last night or early this A?
my rain gauge has 2" in it. pool is filled to the brim.
that's ok...I can't find the li6/18
wow hokie!
I still need 11 L's, but now I know to look for that one
i heard it coming down last night hard for a short time. Hubby said when he got up before 6am it was still coming down. I don't think it is now though or since i got up
the H is easy
just cloudy now.
i need one more h word
ha5, mlfan
ruru i have two 4 letter h words..another of those?
li 6/18 is the short version of "Dangerous Li______" a Glenn Close movie
ohh ty hokie
I do get the clue this time, molly, just a matter of getting the right combo of letters. never saw that movie.
i never saw it either only parts of it
got it, thx
it's the verb form, i think....
mi8?
yes, I think that is correct
phae ends in al5 and pl
not militias
I did try militia just in case it was there but I couldn't see it
ty mlf
starts with a prefix
good strategy hoke
and thx for the mi clue phae and ML
got them, thx
yw mool
It is a sewing term Carla. To incorrectly take in an item of clothing
I would never do that ;)
I certainly wouldn't even attempt to do it
finally got the ha5
Well no wonder you didn't see it. : D MLF gave 4 of the 8 letters, so it shouldn't be hard to figure out.
I got the mi's that were clued. ??
well, going to go walk while I can
back later probably
bye moo, how many left?
first letters of what????
Good morning
morning ori
good morning origami
hi ori
origami i assume you painted that pic in your profile?
I like your new icon, ru :D
LOL, had to click and see. that's funny, ru.
Yes, fan. for whatever reason the picture is a little squished. I keep meaning to change it :D
squished or not, it's nice
its beautiful:0
Thanks :D
self taught?
I was initially, but I take online lessons now.
that is so cool.. i watch people on tv teaching painting . the pbs type shows
I used to love watching Bob Ross on PBS
me too.
Wilson bickford and yarnell
origami who didn't love ot watch him?:) they run his shows at times too
i think i may have figured something out about him
about bob ross?
so, he was apparently a drill sargeant or something prior to being on TV. and there were sometimes false rumors that mr. rogers had been in the military, and maybe it is because they both were on PBS and had that mild manner, and maybe people were mixing up something they heard about bob ross with mr. rogers.
walt er 11 loves bob ross , too. we watch him every night an even have had his discs from the livravy.
that is bizarre
mr rogers and bob ross were a couple?
NO, don't start any NEW rumors! lol
you're saying they were the same person? ;)
i wish i did just to watch him on a more regular basis
Bob: Come on mr. Rogers.. take that sweater off again .. but this time slowly
lol, ruru writing PBS porn fanfic
ru, i'm actually finding this offensive. which is unusual for me.
sorry hursh.. it was just comical to me
yeah, i know
yeah not a fan either
i just looked up bob ross i didn't know he was from florida
hope you won't mind that i said so though, ruru.
no.. not at all..
Does anyone remeber the mailman from Mr.Rogers?
for me you don't know where the line is until you cross it :D
still can't find my missing st :(
I remember the mailman ... "speedy delivery."
hokie i have a 5/6
mr. mcfeely. he was named after mr. rogers' maternal grandfather
Francois Clement
francois clemens was the neighborhood police officer
me too, mlfan
Mr.Rogers washed his feet on tv. It was a big deal.
they are the only two i have
Sorry. You're right.
didn't he take a shower once too?
I also have 2 more st5
or an actual bath
(now i can't make any more mr rogers jokes)
He lives in town here and has an amazing voice.
who does gramma?
Mr Rodgers? Lol
i have 3 st5's
Francois Clement
yes, that was the policeman. I was picturing someone that looks like Capt. Kangaroo for the mailman but really no idea what he looked like.
the hardest one is st5/10 ... a ladder over or through a fence ... ... sounds like a word which means "fashion" but replace the sometimes wowel
no, mr. rogers died several years ago. francois clemens is the one with the amazing voice
well, I have that one, dos, so that's not it, but thx.
We live near an old estate. Several of the stone walls have them
somehow the mailman i think was supposed to be another characger i think?
carla....do you have the sticks people walk on?....the singular is in the grid....
got it! something a druggie might have - st5/12
He is a larger than life, quite flamboyant in dress and manner and happens to be one of the few black/brown, african american.
not sure why that was so hard. I even had the close sm word
that was my last s word on the first column
mr. mcfeely, the speedy delivery man, was a character in the sense that he (and his wife) were the only two on the show who didn't just have their real names and identities used at all.
i didn't know that hurshy
McFeely is a great name for a pedo
now 4 i words would close out the 1st col and 5th row
i need 5 of then
Fred's maternal grandparents were the McFeely's and his full name was Fred McFeely Rogers
good morning, everyone :)
He should be a McDonalds character
good morning cyber
hi nan
really at a loss. got 2 from the chat when I first got here and found 2 but no idea for the other 4.
morning nan
hokie i am just typing away
does anything use the mis- as a prefix?
yes
yes, mi8/9
... a poor change
mk thanks will look
hokie 3 in7's no idea
ok, that's 3 of my 4 then. will look.
can't imagine ever using the mi 8-9 --- stretching things a bit, I think
in 7/32 ... to put a piece of software on your machine
thank you dos!
Once you get one of them, you have them all with a slight change
in732 ... to give someone good moral values
I have the in6's for both those but not seeing how to make 7s without another L
but there's only one L so those seem to be 6s, yeah
in 6/7 ... sounds a really close female friend ... or two
wonder when the final consonant was dropped from those words?
... sorry my first two 7/32 .. were really 6/18
really don't like the liberties this dictionary takes with the english language
im confused
it's probably just that both were used pre-standardized-spelling
... but the plural of in 6/21 can be done both in English and in Latin
got the 6/7 combo
the 6-7-7-7 combo :D
ok, got both pl, just need one now
stars in 6/21?
I have in 6, 6, 4, 6, 7, 7, 5. so I need another 7?
don't have the 6/21 yet
nm, got it
... there's a third 7 between the other two ... ... adjective form
me either
1st col and 5th row gray!!
had the adjective though
i have two in 6 and one in 4
another word for lingerie is in_____. drop some letters
everything i try with -ish fails
ooh wait one of them just went!
jewish, amish
Ru, I think the stay at home stuff is making people more easily offended than usual.
which one, hursh?
not quite on time
lots of people are on edge
gracias
need to get ready for the day -- doing a curbside pickup on a garden shed we ordered.
nice. do you have to put it together I guess?
Ah, another garden shed that Covid built (as Bea would say)
well, the color te4 cannot be -ish or -er
yes -- it is one of those resin ones - the garage in this house has a lot less storage room than the old one, so this will help a lot to free up some space.
well, I need to get busy. stuck with 32 left.
ma 7/32, second one, pls
just have the people who do the posting
just found it, feeling weak or sick
good word, good word
LOL, I was just about to say it's one of my favorite words
ty carla

omg finally finished the a's wow
i still need one more of the top A
I gotta stop peeking back in here. I still need 3 of the top A.
al4! just found one
and another. what is the last one??
i have five al4s, my last is a bird landed
ok, I also have 5 al4's
so not that
but, my missing word could be another one, who knows?
All my A's are blacked out. *Puts feet up and watches the Hokie & Hurshy Show
found another ish word
cookie in the PB for Molly!
Polish capital counts
yeah, I said that earlier, when in doubt on the proper noun, try it out
It is a fish. Hilariously, also called the jewfish. (See earlier conversation)
well i always do, because, if it doesn't go, then i can play name that proper noun, but i wouldn't want to do it without checking first
same
come on molly, the least you can do is try to guess my missing A ;)
just tried amish for the 37th time
so, besides the mi9 that we talked about earlier, does anyone have the other 9?
ti9/66
interesting, ok, will look
I predict you will find it in under two minutes
some of us took 20 clues to find it, but you should see it right off
well, not under two minutes, because i kept looking from the middle t, but i got it now
Close enough
*Imagines Hurshy trying tileteams
lol
90% done!
Why is tamale not on this grid?
because it ... just isn't ... lol
same reason militia isn't
it's there, but it's not
Grids seem to narrow our choices.
ty fo rthe ma7
I still don't have any in7's?
i just monkeyed in 7 ending in L
there you go, now cut off the end and do both kinds of plurals
ty hurshy
hurshy what is the cats name?
Rilla
cute name very beautiful cat
she is a darling angel
i have a cat name Ginger she is a black and tan. has the m on her forehead
cool
broke down and went to the list. of course my missing a was a 4. :<
yours has an Mon its forehead too doesn't it?
was it easy to find hokie?
yeah, i spose she does, most tabbies do. M for Miss Marilla the Miracle Kitten
aww
yeah, I should've seen it
opie's M stands for Magnificent
hurshy The name Ginger just came off the top of my head. I was going to change it, but she had already learned ginger
then we weren't missing the same one, hokie. mine was at5
hokie i usually have the worst time trying to find a 4 letter word when i need to in these grids
I found at5 early today. usually that one does not jump out.
i don't have it
kind of like askew
it's one of those a words like afoot or askew, yeah
oh yeah we have had that word before
omg!
i just monkeyed re7/8 not even realizing that was my missing 8!
omg here, I always miss the alt sp of the hindi garment
what are the stats hokie>?
sa5/10
ty hokie
can't find the last sa6/21
seems like only one option for the 3rd letter based on the list location
... it looks like a man's name ... but isn't ... but would be if you changed a vowel
thanks, looked it up because I couldn't think of the man's name. but that was a good clue.
I am slow today
... no slower than me today ... it's a long 250
maybe giving up on yesterday dulled my mind
last 2 are wr - are those legit words I should get or made up stuff
... I'm actually finding today more difficult than yesterday ... yesterday's words were weird but the list tended to force them to be one thing ... ... today, the list is leaving them still difficult to find
I gave up with the list yesterday. today hasn't been too bad for me.
.... they're okay ... ghost or spirit ... if you watched Stargate Atlantis they were the bad guys
got them
I did actually see them before your clue, which is hard to believe. Is stargate atlantis the one with mcguyver? I never watched it.
... that was Stargate SG-1 ... Atlantis was the sequel series after Richard Dean Anderson got pretty old and too wealthy
thats just Stargate
I see
amd they ran out of storylines
... oh .. you watch Stargate whatever the last god awful one was called
I loved SG1 for ages until I thought I'd seen every storyline before! But I did love Vala
... they shot it outside of Vancouver with mostly Canadian extras ... I loved all the Canadian jokes ... ... "Did you get the scores from last night ... the football, hockey, the curling? "
jokes that scottish people also understand :P
... true
didn't the scots invent curling along with everything else?
hi all. just made a potato mushroom soup which turned out really well
... curling, the steam engine and whiskey ...
interesting. I love potatoes and mushrooms.
golf?
... and there goes many a prairie afternoon

Apparently today is also the anniversary of George Washington being inaugurated as the first American President, and also Louisiana was purchased by the US, and then 9 years later became the 18th state

Hey! Watch where you are sticking that thing! *Stern look*

drops zooz's car keys on the floor
You maybe surprised to know that I do not own a car!
wow. really?
It is the case. i started to learn to drive around 30 years a go and hated it. I was a danger on the road so gave it up as a bad idea.
I had a small motorbike for a couple of years and I did not like that either so sold it. I love cycling though and do so everywhere.
well if you drove on the RIGHT side of the road Zooz you might find it easier :D
Haha! I did tend to go over to the right that was one of the problems. Kept nearly taking wing mirrors off of other cars as they went past. Too many close calls. It would only been a matter of time before something bad would happen. I did not want to takee the risk. I would not of been able to live with myself if I had hurt someone.
Now cycling is a different matter. I used to do 100 mile charity rides in a day and think nothing of it. I did several a year for cancer research charities.
2/3 done!
go Harry go
nicer grid than yesterday!

yeah, I suspect they are just easy ones I thought I had
the last one I got fell into that category
ah, there's one
I'm sure you will finish
not sure I will, but have found 5 of 12 so there's still time
could I have a clue for the si7 please?
well I could try and give you a word that was like it, but that would be redundant :)
things that are a like are si7
ah just saw it!
It was my last 7 if that's any consolation
thanks :)
still have 2 w's from the middle column to ferret out
oh there's one
6 to go
5...this is work
did you finish that w?
no, still have one w to go
have an L, R, W and two S's (off different tiles) to go
wa6, looks like a proper noun?
yeah, that was the one I just got
just as well I'm interested in geography
bob marley's group?
yeah, have all the 7s
there is a wi5 that was kinda weird
have the plural, fi that's the one you mean
oh no
doesn't work in this dictionary forgot
there it is...4 to go
:D I was like, I don't see an pl wi5
las sa 6 please?
yeah, thought it took, but see it didn't
nan, kinda like a biblical name but with last vowel changed
you may be missing that s, moo
yeah, I typically am missing the ones nan asks for :)
ty carla
I see quite a few odd L's
yep, that was one of them...3 to go
not even sure what to guess
yw
hi all 57 left to find
missing 3 of the 7
hi peri
almost there peri
still have one 4 to go...and two 6s
what letters?
go mool!
do you have both la6 that are pl of same 5?
L and S in the 4th column, and R in the 5th
that was the l
duh
tx hoke
hello friends
I have one la6 that is not a plural, looking
hey trif
hey trif, happy Thor's day (for hoke's benefit)
hi Trif
:D
it's some distance before that one peri :)
just finished making yet another excruciatingly embarrassing Loom video, and taking a break\
today's topic - Martin Luther and the Reformation
(worst band name ever)
Well I'm sure it's not all loom and doom Triff
need help with the wr words please
do you have re6/18?
I'd tell you, but it might scare you off
they are like ghosts
good one mooling!
they're hard to see in reality anyway
if that was a clue, mool I did not get it
oh, thanks!
in lord of the rings the word has ring in front of it.
don't knw lotr
I have an mi-9. What is the other 9 please?
ti9
don't have re6/18 either
will go to list soon
I thought maybe re6/18 was moo's missing R
it's kind of odd
yep, it is
that means s4 is left?
*!*~*!* thanks for the help :)
well done, nan
yep
Tail
sh4/9? (there are 2)
Mats
heh
never guess what s I was missing :)
Mats
possibly the easiest word on the board
Mats
one that you already had the pl for?
For the la6, kind of similar to a certain hebivore
what I do in a chair?
nope, it's a 3 letter that is plural
I will try to figure it out. Thansk!
yeah
any clues wanted before I leave?
so just need to find the re6/18 and I'm done...thanks to you hoke
do you want a context clue? should be easy for you anyway with the points
want a clue mool?
I'm okay thanks to both of you
pretty sure I can monkey this
and yep, just did
that's fw
well done
yay for nan and mool
hagd everyone and stay safe -- grats mool
huzzah for mooling!
thx guys, that's my second one for the week I think
how do they figure out the points on a word?
I'm going to figure out supper. TTFN
4 letters = letters x 1 5 letters = letter values x2
etc
lisa, there are points on the tiles. 4 letter words x1, 5 letter x2, 6 letter x3 etc
Thank you! I dont know why i never figured that out.
15 letters, you get a free beer
so, like re6/18 - divide by 3, means tile total is 6, which means each tile has to be 1 pt
One day all these monkeys are going to unionize
that will help out a lot!
And I'll buy them a beer when that happens
yes, unionized monkeys will be way easier to negotiate with
lisa, do you know how to know which tile a word comes from when there is more than one of the same letter?
I don't
the boxes below the puzzle?
I use tarot cards myself
yeah
interesting method, moo
I have one s greyed out, but the other two are not, so a word cant come from teh greyed out one anymore.
yes, well was either that or talking sock puppet...and the choice was a close one, but given that my mother was an astrologist, I went with the tried and true
finally done...my head hurts
but like today, there are 3 s's. some words can be made from more than 1 s, but it goes top to bottom left to right., so the first s to make that word has it in its count
yay suze...not for the aching noggin tho
lol
I did not know that
makes sense though... I was wondering why I was putting in words but they were going off of hte other letter, like the w words today
Some w’s are entitled
yeah, a lot of people don't realize that and it makes it confusing when you don't
lol
indeed, some w's are more equal than other w's
there's also a list that many use to help complete it after it stops being fun
Can be hard dealing with an unrequited grid
I suspect there's a higher incidence of OCD amongst babblers than the general population
lol...
possible. I certainly have OCD about some things.
Among other issues 🤪
I'm more into massochism myself
nothing quote matches the feeling of grinding through a grid for 23 hours each day
I have finished it twice, but most days only work a little on it during my lunch, or when work is so utterly boring that I have "free time while on the clock"
I think this is the only thing i am OCD about
Today, I have nothing going on after work, so am attempting to knock more of it out. I have 100 words left still.
Excuse me i have to go wash my hands again
Maybe I will get it finished again :)
Going to get dinner going, but I will be back
good luck
my son's sleeve was turned up the other day and I couldn't take it.
How dare he?
such gall
he didn't even notice. of course when I put it down the oldest says "thank you, that was killing me". he takes after me with the OCD stuff.
Good evening.
hi phan...
Hey, Pen.
how are you this eveing?

oops. Sorry

i am not much of a drinker, but I must admit that I have had a little more alcohol during this sequetration.....
me too... too much i think.. i'm going on the wagon starting on Monday :D
I have just continued with my one drink a day. Let me tell you, sometimes after work it is hard to not drink more!
well normally, i don't have a drink a day....and still don't....but I have had a few a week and sometimes wine with dinner....
my go to is usually wine
i have wine nearly every night
they were out of my usual tonic water at the store last week.....luckily they had another brand...
I have to .. i'm a professional :D
Happy Birthday, penquis!
nice excuse, ru....
ty, peri...
well.. it's kinda true pen
I simply call it education ...
SMH on this one, geesh
two toughies in arow mp.. i agree
and to make me feel even worse they are mostly 4 ltr words
well, my first run through has yielded me 134 words, but I have none of the 8's or 9s.
Hmm, I can think of a few four letter words for this one...
i am down to 28....must say it's been much more fun than yesterday's grid....
Happy Birthday Pen! It is one of my son's birthday too. Good people were born on this day.
ty.... :oD
Happy birthday to Molly's sister!
A's accomplished
E;s eradicated
i am done....i actually liked this grid....
Actually, it is my son's birthday. My sister's was yesterday.
well done, Pen. Good birthday present from BAbble?
Ah. Well then. Happy birthday to Molly's Son!
ty, peri....
Good morning all. Should've been half way between Singapore and London right now for my nephew's wedding - bit of a downer to start May!
Upside is, the wedding is postponed until next year and hopefully we'll be able to go then.
Well, at least there is an upside...
hi liz...
I's incapacitated...
True. Happy birthday pen.
Hope you're both doing OK.
and I hope you are.
All's good here thanks.
awesome.
lase
oops. I am so sorry
No worries
ty for the birthday greetings, liz....
i am craving cake, so perhaps i will visit the PB to see what's there... ;o)
Enjoy or get baking!
I'll send you some virtual lemon polenta cake.
i don't bake...
that sounds good!
It's very yummy actually.
Moist and very lemony.
love lemon flavored things...
Me too.
me 3
Hey Liz, I read that you are having to miss a family wedding because of all the recent craziness. Are they still going through with the wedding?
It's postponed until next year. The venue contacted them and offered them a new date - hopefully we'll be able to fly then.
Oh good. I'm glad you still have the chance to go celebrate with your family.
Thanks, Molly. We've also got a close family wedding in Canada next year - hope we'll get to that too.
Here's to better days.
amen!
I'll drink to that (well coffee at 10 am) - good health and an end to all craziness to everyone.
ditto to you, liz...
Fireworks. Time to go and make some bread. Stay safe everyone and enjoy your days / evenings.
bye, liz...
i am also heading out...goodnight all....
well done, Liz happy baking
night Pen.
if anyone is around I would like a clue for the ist sa 6/21
Assuming this is the 1st sa 6/21: Italian cured sausage
And plural for the sa7/32, phandmd!
hmmm. I don't eat italian sausage, cured or otherwise...
I will google it
ah. got it
Ta-da!
Thanks, Jim
yw!
hello friends
hello!
hi phan. how are you doing with this grid? I'm no where near halfway yet
I am plugging along. I have 36 words left.
that is impressive!
not really, I am using a2z a lot
im impressed
I am always glad when I can find more than half the words on the first run through...
i did a small bit of the grid earlier today, but didn't get back to it unitl just now - crazy busy today with schoolwork
I started at about 630 this evening. Eastern time.
are you on the coast?
yes, MD
i used to live in silver spring, and MAN do I miss the springtime there! Just beautiful! the spring weather here in boston is on track to be the coldest ever, and, on top of everything else, has been a real bummer
whoo! found my first 8 and 9 combo
Yeah, but MD doesn't give up her seasons easily... it gets a bit bipolar
WTG Tri
i dont miss august there - wowza
Wow Trif, didn't know you'd lived in silver spring... that's where I've been living since '99
yeah, August isn't too fun
i left there in 91 or 92....liked it very much
It's true summers can be sticky here, but on the other hand we don't usually get buried in snow like in Boston
except every so often...
that is true! on the plus side, we dont' close down for a week because of four inches either
LOL make that half an inch.
Yes phan, I remember Snowmageddon and then again in 2016...
who am I kidding? we call eight inches of snow a "dusting:
I'm from RI originally so am very familiar w/New England weather
which part? my dad lived in common fence point
common fence point?
Fox point?
i guess really it's part of portsmouth? my son lives in pawtucket in the coolest loft EVER
I'm from the epicenter of world kulcha... Cranston.
Oh, the tony part of the state. Near Newport?
someone has to live in cranston! lol
not overly near newport, but near enough to the base, I guess? near the mount hope bridge area
It's amazing in a state that small, but those of us from west bay aren't so familiar with east bay. That's because RI-ers refuse to drive more than 10 minutes in any direction.
too many bridges to deal with
But I had no idea Pawtucket had cool lofts! That's progress, for sure. I remember it as a conglomeration of those multi-family horrors no one wants to live in any more
we went to a polo game for the first time two years ago, and BOY was that fun!
he lives in a fabulous old complex of factories that was re-fitted into super great lofts
ST 5/12 pls
Yes, I love what they've done with all the old costume jewelry factories.
remember the big fire a couple of weeks back? that was the next building over!
Yikes!! Scary stuff.
funnily enough, it had just sold the week before...hmmmm
st12 hide something away maybe?
hmmmmm indeed...
my dad always said rhode island had "the finest politicians money could buy!"
Like everyone now has a big st5,12 of TP... :-)
LOL It's been called "the Louisiana of the North"
ah! Thanks
But Gina's doing a good job re covid
agreed. I like how baker has been handling it too.
They've actually got pretty widespread testing going in RI - I do think it's easier for the smaller states to get their act together - but even so.
yup
Meanwhile my gov is going to defend his collection of Korean test kits with armed guards...
The next civil war will break out when the Feds send the army to requisition the kits and the MD Nat'l Guard and police are called on to prevent it
as long as people can GET tested!
im fairly disgusted with how the PPP money and small business money has been distributed.
Totally!! What were they thinking letting the big boys stick their fingers in that pie
WEll, good night. I got down to 27 words left. But it is now my bedtime. so...
night phan! stay healthy!
Thanks, you too!
i made it to halfway, which is a miracle for me today, im so distracted
Finito... clues anyone? If not, kali nichta!
hunting for the 2nd ma7/32 if you're still around NW
(swan dive!) ("hi all" faintly heard just before the splash)
never mind, got it. ends like a condiment. firewords!
nbt
wtg dan !!!!!!!!
halfway done woot
sorry, was on the zoom with the offspring... got distracted
Gwen, you're a speed demon
the worse my close-up eyesight gets the faster i am at boggle LOL
oooh, found an 8 at last
2/3
stats and clues for absolutely anything from the lower left i, please? Can't find even one!!
i just found them, they are weird. in4/4, a babblet
in6/18, in + first four letters of little cubicle in a restroom
another in6/18, take the word just clued and change the last vowel
cool, thanks! wouldna thunk of either of those!
sheesh, not that one either! do peeps actually use those words?
i guess peruvians would use that 4/4...
archaic words are fair game (i assume they are archaic, too lazy to check) LOL
the 4/4 is a monetary unit
the other two say 'used with a verb', familiar words if you double the last consonant. never saw those before!
oh, thanks!
Thanks much, book, I can go to bed in peace with nbt and nbs, and only 5 words shy of halfway. 'nuff. Good nght!
night ngiht
uno
fw and a big woo hoo
