Doesn't like umami, too bad

the ma8 is a Hebrew word for special prayer books for the Holy Days.

4:32 am

Thanks Player girl - it wouldn't have occurred to me to try that!

It took me a while since I would normally spell it with a c.

Hallo. May I please have stats for the U?

HNY Haz & Matty - hoping this year get better fast

Morning! Me too - we have lockdown whatever number this is, so not a great start!

HNY to you all too!

5:23 am

Hello lynxx, it's been a funny old time. Back into lockdown although to be honest it's not that much different from how we are normally. Christmas wasn't as I'd hoped - husband ended up in hospital for 2 days with kidney stones!

5:23 am

We are all watching you anxiously from over here Matty

And I'm slapping myself with piscine aquatic animals for not seeing that UM!

Argh, Haz, sorry to hear that! Is he feeling better now?

5:24 am

Yes, the pain has gone and he has passed stones so hopefully that is the end of it.

5:24 am

ohh - nasty Haz

This too will pass....literally in his case :)

5:25 am

were your girls around for Xmas Haz?

5:26 am

The younger one was home for 3 weeks from London and she was here on Christmas day along with my sister and sister-in-law. That was maximum household allowed to gather so my other daughter hosted her in-laws.

5:27 am

We met up for a short walk on Christmas day to exchange presents.

5:28 am

Oh, Haz, your poor husband. Ouch!

5:28 am

it's all just awful everywhere

5:28 am

Hi Scrabs

5:29 am

Ouch, indeed, Scrabbler. The greater pain seemed to be when the kidney stones were on the move rather than passing. I've never seen his face look so pale and grim.

5:29 am

Hello folks.

5:29 am

Scrabbler, I saw you had got your first shot. I'm glad!

5:30 am

Kidney stone pain ranks up there as one of the worst experiences. I had a gall stone stuck in my common duct 31 years ago. Oh, the pain and the jaundice.

5:31 am

Yes, dose #1 is done.

5:31 am

The worst thing was not knowing at first what was wrong. Once it was diagnosed in A and E he could rationalise what was happening.

5:32 am

My friend's husband thought he had "another" kidney stone but his aorta was rupturing and he died.

5:32 am

OMG

5:33 am

Goodness, so don't assume anything.

5:33 am

A tragedy as he delayed seeking medical care.

5:35 am

Are all of the stone out, Haz?

5:35 am

We hope so, cat scan showed up 3 and he has passed 3.

5:36 am

Very good.

5:36 am

He's going to continue with the drinking of water to prevent further build up. I don't think he would want to go through that again.

5:37 am

And no carbonated beverages.

5:37 am

And he'll be followed up in outpatient urology.

5:38 am

No! We don't drink many (I don't drink them at all) but it's off the menu now.

5:38 am

Excellent.

5:38 am

Your birthday was yesterday, Haz?

5:38 am

No, it's in May.

5:39 am

I'm off to bed - Goodnight ladies - lovely to see you all.

5:39 am

Sleep well, lynxxx, hope you're keeping okay.

5:39 am

Sleep well?

5:41 am

I mean, sleep well. No question mark.

5:42 am

Are you busier in work than normal, Scrabbler, or is it steady?

5:44 am

Slower than usual since last March as we do not allow anyone with COVID symptoms to have an appointment, unless they have had a negative PCR test. We need to protect staff, kids, and parents that are in the office.

5:45 am

Are you doing much phone consultation? That seems to be what's happening here a lot.

5:46 am

Some telemedicine but we advise that sick kids go to the pediatric urgent care center for evaluation and testing. We are seeing more positive CoV tests sine late November.

5:47 am

I suppose it's difficult with children because the younger ones can't articulate what's wrong with them so you're relying on clinical evaluation.

5:48 am

Parents tell similar stories: my kid was with a relative that has tested positive, for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, New Year's Day, despite widespread advice to not gather with others.

5:48 am

Yes, kids under 2.5 years of age are tricky as we are veterinarians for this age group. And we get kicked, hit, scratched, etc. Share that with your husband.

5:49 am

I think people have the idea that it's not going to happen to them.

5:49 am

Or that people don't seem sick, or "it's just a cold", or "it's allergies."

5:50 am

Asymptomatic and presymptomatic people are dangerous to the rest of us.

5:51 am

That's the problem, the asymptomatic ones can be spreading without knowing. I tend to think of myself as being potentially infected, therefore keep away from others.

5:52 am

There are advantages to being an introvert sometimes!

Get a grip

5:53 am

The pandemic is easy to cope with for us introverts.

5:54 am

How are your rabbits, Scrabbler?

I'm an introverted extrovert or vice versa - I sometimes find it easy, sometimes much harder. Still, I'm lucky really - we have a house, our health and we live in a nice village

5:54 am

I have twin English Spot girls, Phoebe and Fiona, that make me laugh and smile everyday.

5:55 am

Ah, Fiona for FM?

5:55 am

Very good, matty.

5:55 am

I just like the name, Haz, but I am reminded of FM too. I miss her.

5:56 am

I know. It's my younger daughter's name so I like it as well.

5:58 am

Nice.

6:00 am

I'm encountering quite a few words for the first time in this grid.

6:01 am

My lifetime membership of Morewords is standing me in good stead.

6:02 am

I will find a few more then must get ready for work.

6:03 am

Have a good day, Scrabbler, good to see you again.

6:03 am

Be well and safe.

6:04 am

You too.

GM all & Congrats to the US junior hockey team!

6:06 am

What did they win?

I believe it's called the Junior World Championships. US won gold. Similar to the Olympics or the Stanley Cup, but for juniors.

Players are between ages of 16-21

6:08 am

Well done to them!

6:11 am

Well, I must head off. Morewords is a great help today. Bye for now!

HAGD

I'm also about to leave for work, HAGD all

7:54 am

Wow, what is with the whacked out 8 letter words today?

7:55 am

tors

7:55 am

And what is with the whacked out player posting words in the chat?

7:55 am

Haven't even looked at stats, yet. Was focused on the first two tiles.

7:56 am

LOL! Wondered the same...

7:59 am

What are the first two tiles in Bea's way of playing? Do you go left to right? Top to bottom? I just free for all and look everywhere. (No discipline)

8:01 am

Top row, left to right. If I still have words not found in that row, I go back right to left.

8:07 am

Free for all -- LOL-- me too!

8:07 am

me too

8:08 am

went

8:08 am

Peri, come join me for cinnamon raisin toast in the PB

8:10 am

I'm excited that my mom will be able to get the vaccine soon.

8:11 am

Will that make it possible for her to get out more?

8:13 am

Yes. There is still the issue of her knees, but with her walker she can go for short shopping excursions. Still wearing a mask though.

8:16 am

Cool!!

8:17 am

She went to the pulminologist yesterday. He was thrilled with her progress.

8:18 am

Aawwwww that's great!

8:25 am

I wonder if we will ever live in a mask free world again.

8:27 am

I read an article with a comment from a nurse and she said she would continue wearing a mask because she hasn't even contracted a cold this year.

8:27 am

i expect that many places will adopt the cultural practices that many asian countries already do, where mask wearing is routine and accepted if you are feeling ill or in a position where you need to interact with a lot of strangers

8:28 am

I agree, dan.

8:35 am

dan i lived overseas for a few yrs in korea. i remember people wearing masks and it was multiple people

I will fully embrace mask wearing in future cold & flu seasons

8:39 am

Me too, Carla. Besides, I have some really cute masks. =)

yep

8:40 am

anybody have a word from the 4th colum i?

8:40 am

column

in4?

8:40 am

in4.4

8:40 am

inis

8:40 am

thats not it lol

not that

8:41 am

got it

8:41 am

I guess I am the only one who finds mask wearing depressing and strange, which is good.

8:42 am

agreed molly

no, I find it depressing and strange to see everyone in them, but as a germaphobe, I am fine wearing them myself to keep me from touching my face.

I don't love masks, but I absolutely wear them and hope others do. I do look forward to the day when they won't be required

I'm just saying I'll keep wearing them and hope they are more acceptable. :D Not everywhere, just if I'm in a lot of people.

8:49 am

Remember back when everyone made fun of Michael Jackson for wearing masks?

what else he right about?? (probably not much)

8:49 am

'morning, all. i don't think most people like the mask experience, but we'll do what it takes, and maybe one day in the not so distant future, we'll be able to put them away

Remember back when people blew all over a birthday cake and then handed out slices? ;)

8:50 am

or stuck their fingers in bowling balls and then shared french fries with everyone on your team?

LOL, one of my camping friends did that with a birthday cake this past year. My husband was like, you would've died if you'd seen it. I think I was at our camper doing something else.

I made both my boys hold a candle in their hands this year and blow that out away from everything.

8:51 am

Remember when you could see people smile? Or shake their hand when you met them? : (

Or even hug and air kiss or kiss good friends on the cheek?

8:52 am

I see people wearing mask smile all the time.

I'm not a hugger, so that is nice. and you can see smiles in their eyes sometimes.

8:52 am

Mask smile, ugh. That is like an air hug.

8:52 am

i miss sitting on the deck having a drink with neighbors

I miss talking BS at the pub

8:53 am

It's in the eyes, Molly. And to me, that is a good thing, having to look into peoples' eyes.

8:53 am

... and who knows how long it'll be before i see the kids/grandkids again. it's been a year and a half

8:53 am

Can't you still sit on the deck for drinks, a proper distance apart?

8:54 am

nope - no social gatherings of any kind

8:54 am

Oh, I forgot, Canada is under different protocol than we are.

I miss playing Pounce (card game) with my camping friends. No way to distance for that one, and they're a bunch of loud drunks.

Who knows when I'll even meet my granddaughter. I may be a great-grandma by then ;)

8:55 am

the rules vary province to province

8:56 am

i sure hope not, matty - i know you're itching to get your hands on your little one

8:56 am

hey - your step-daughter moved out - how's that going?

8:56 am

Pounce sounds like a fun game, Carla.

also called Nertz or Nerts. basically speed solitaire against other people.

Yes she has! She has a flat in Balham with a good friend. Apparently she keeps hearing sporadic kazoo noises. I told her Sporadic Kazoo would be a great band name

8:58 am

We have been playing three or four hands after dinner each night. This week we are playing Hearts.

8:58 am

I'll pick up some more decks of cards.

8:58 am

i'm glad that you and the mister (finally) have the place to yourselves

8:59 am

my family modified Nertz to make it more intense

I have a million decks of cards

Me too. Because of our lockdown we can't have any visitors - not even outside

this is pretty intense. I have a nertz app and the pounce we play is a little different. I think it must be regional rules differences.

9:00 am

in ours, you can play up either aces or kings to start piles at the top, and then you can go in either up or down direction from them at any time. plus you can play on each other's ones of those that you have played up.

what I meant to add after a million decks of cards was no one to play them with

yeah, that's the way my app is, hurshy

9:01 am

cool

but then when I play that and play them in person I have to think about the different rules.

ooh, an 8

9:03 am

Was it a normal 8? I have one normal one and one weird one.

it was a ones who do something

9:04 am

The 8 letter words are far from normal

like maybe highway dept workers

9:05 am

I have that one.

9:08 am

9:11 am

Look at the point count Carla.

I am!

but there's a z and a w in the area

9:13 am

hey look, a very stupid and yet popular misspelling is in the grid. who else gets annoyed when people write "woah" instead of "whoa"?

LOL, mr. homie was just telling me about a congressman who ended a prayer the other day with amen and awomen. LOL. how stupid.

hurshy, that drives me insane

9:14 am

yeah i saw that. if he did it as a JOKE, then, that's ok

9:14 am

I get annoyed when people use sice for psych

9:14 am

good lord, i don't think i've seen THAT, how awful

9:15 am

Then there is the ever popular all of the sudden for all of a sudden

9:15 am

or "all & all" instead of "all in all"

9:16 am

People who think alot is a word

9:17 am

AND... could of, would of, should of. grrrrrrrrrrr

I've seen sike, but not sice

9:17 am

I do say "What the world?"

9:17 am

I think it is a local thing.

yeah, the of kills me

gotta go, BBL

9:18 am

9:40 am

well, the other newbie(s) had to do with ma6.39.. and since I wasn't raised in that faith.. didn't know the prayer book

9:40 am

it reminds me of when this guy i worked with occasionally would ask me if i'd lost weight EVERY TIME he saw me. i guess i appear thinner than the memory of me looks, and i seem to know more stuff than i do.

9:40 am

9:40 am

ty aloy

9:41 am

9:41 am

normally spelled with an extra c.

9:42 am

that's what I love about this game.. so much to learn!

9:42 am

an extra C?? ooh boy am i mystified

9:43 am

it's another arbitrary hebrew word.

9:43 am

the instructions for the creators of enable were to go to 8 foreign language dictionaries and randomly choose 25 words apiece.

9:43 am

mk, morewords helped again

9:43 am

and pluralize them.

9:44 am

i did

9:44 am

it's a cracker the ancient jews used to shave with :D

9:44 am

wow that is a very complicated pun.

9:46 am

hursh do you still need the third i word in left column?

10:14 am

no, i got it

10:14 am

ok

10:14 am

Sorry, let me be very specific and detail oriented. TWO of the 8 letter words are weird.

10:14 am

good morning everyone

10:14 am

tough grid for me. bbl

10:15 am

so what is the other weird one besides si8 then? :D

10:18 am

ma8/80

10:18 am

oh! so that's the other bottom M then

10:19 am

phew, the tiny bit i know about hebrew helped me out there

10:21 am

don't know any hebrew and am stumped

10:22 am

might as well be greek or gaelic

10:22 am

did you get the ma6/7 combo already?

10:23 am

if not we gotta start with that

10:24 am

then, the fact i knew that helped me get the 8 is that they make plurals with -im, like seraph, seraphim, cherub, cherubim

10:26 am

no ma 6-7 combo here

10:27 am

6/39... it's very hard to clue

10:27 am

there was a joke about crackers that you shave with... if that helps

10:28 am

no I saw that and it didn't

10:29 am

got them - ty

10:30 am

kept missing one crucial letter

10:30 am

good morning all....should it bother me that i got the cracker shave clue??....

10:32 am

I would have gotten it sooner if it said part of the word for crackers

10:32 am

nope -- with everything that is going on in DC today I think all of you are totally sane and exceptionally brilliant :D

10:32 am

i didn't have a clue about the crackers, but knowing the first two letters and getting the shave part helped...

10:33 am

LOL...

10:37 am

Remember when we were kids and our parents taught us not to be sore losers? Apparently some little boys and girls were not listening.

10:41 am

this is not a particularly fun grid for me....

10:45 am

I never find these grids fun. Challenging, yes. Fun, not really.

10:45 am

Tough grid. Not sure why but...............

10:45 am

i find a lot of them fun...

10:46 am

Clue for bottom left corner e please? Ty

10:46 am

going to get some lunch....bbl to finish....bye all....

10:47 am

ei 4/5 babblet

10:48 am

Ty

10:48 am

Never remembver that one. Ty nan. Got it now.

10:51 am

11:02 am

Any cluers for the 8s or 7s? Dont see them

11:14 am

I am so not getting the ma 8 or the 6 7......ugh. And i speak hebrew.......but not getting it at all. I got the plural but not the six.

11:15 am

Does that ma 6 7 have the high point letter?

yes

11:16 am

Ty kramer. Still stumped but that helps. Not is it a zion or a tzadi? Hmmm

11:17 am

The im is only the 8 right?

11:17 am

si 8/70, pls

remove the s from 7 and you will get the 6

11:17 am

Ty but dont have the 7 either.

11:17 am

Does it mean prayer book or do we know the meaning?

11:19 am

Still struggling with english spelling........have no ma to 6 7 or 8. Sorry all.

si8 - si + ***s (god of love) + ** sounds like a 2 point letter

ma6 - first 3 letters of an elephant caretaker + first 3 letters of an american superhero whose name starts with high point letter.. plural for 7.. sorry, i dont know how else to clue this..

11:22 am

ty Cosmo

11:25 am

Got it.

11:27 am

not getting it - that's only 7 letters

11:28 am

The ma! Means prayer books for specific holidays. But wow. There is another word it wont take that is mamzorim which means bastards. Funny what it takes and what it doesnt....weird grid. weird dictionary. but the hebrew letters are so different that it is difficlut to how how they would translate it to english letters. ty for the clue and i got the 6, 7 and 8. ty

11:28 am

oh no it is 8, but not the ones I'm trying

11:29 am

nan you arent getting the ma 8?

11:29 am

if not do you want another clue?

11:30 am

nan, here goes:

11:32 am

ma + cons. that can often be silent or just a breathing out sound, + the hero with a sword and wears black. The first three of his name. That is a six. The 7 gets the english plural and the 8 add the hebrew plural clued below as im which is plural for hebrew words masculine. Fem. hebrew is -ot. But this is masculine plural. I hope this helps

11:33 am

no, I have the ma 8

11:34 am

it is the si 8 I'm having a problem with

11:34 am

Oh sorry nan. Thought that was what you needed. Do you have the si clue? I dont have that one.

11:34 am

I am having issues too because the end was not clear. It was two astericks where three are needed.

11:36 am

I have si + greek god of love with out last letter + ??????that is what is missing

11:36 am

me too mkg

11:37 am

Dear Chat folks, please help nan and me to get the si 9. We have first 5 letters. Help with last three please. Ty.

11:38 am

I just got back. don't have and haven't seen the clue. glad I could help.

11:38 am

I have the first 6 letters - it is the last 2 i need

11:39 am

I have tried ie, ei and id -- don't know what else there is

si8 - si+ ***s (god of love) + high point letter + vowel + consonant

let me try once more.. si8 - si+ ***s (god of love) + high point letter + g** is a precious stone

11:41 am

got it ty cos -- thought you said that the end sounded like a high point letter

sorry, my clue was not good.. i couldn't figure out how to clue this

11:43 am

thx, Cosmo...your last clue was great!

11:45 am

PERFECT KRAMER! Thanks. That clue below is perfect!

11:46 am

11:49 am

11:50 am

si + anagram of number that means nothing + Dorothy's Aunt's name (Wizard of Oz)

am7 - am + either ** + ** (not out) + vowel

11:54 am

ty cos -- lol, think I tried everything else!

11:55 am

12:43 pm

moo!!

12:47 pm

I rely on my pillbox to tell me what day it is. probably not a good idea.

12:52 pm

Oh my, that is such an old lady thing to say

12:53 pm

oh I heard it when I said it

12:58 pm

wow, I think I finally made it through each tile. still 53 left.

1:12 pm

It's like that first time you squint to see something and suddenly think OH MY GOD

yeah, that happened to me around 42. was trying to read a medicine bottle for one of my kids. it was literally overnight. mr. homie just now gradually getting worse and he's about to turn 50.

1:14 pm

I just keep bitching about how the print is getting smaller on everything (denial)

now I pretty much can't read anything without glasses, sometimes even have to put them on in the morning to read this chat on my laptop.

people that see me looking at the large font on my iphone and kindle laugh, but I'm so used to it I forget until someone comments. and pretty much all my friends are older than me!

1:16 pm

Sometimes, the print is so small on the gift cards we get I have to get my son to read the numbers to me so I can check the balance

1:16 pm

Which reminds me of my mother asking me to thread needles for her when her vision started getting sloppy

I recently have struggled reading things with my 1.00 strength

yeah, I have to put them on to thread any needle. impossible without.

but my eye dr. (who is one of my tennis friends) said the last time I saw her my eyes wouldn't get any worse. what does she know!

has anyone said what the u stat is?

never mind!

1:38 pm

yw

going for a short hike even though it's freezing out. TTFN

1:40 pm

Is that some kind of delayed yw?

1:40 pm

yeah, something like that

he was saying I said thanks for me finding my own word

1:45 pm

anyone watching the end of democracy unfold on national television? :P hi all

1:46 pm

Why is it the end of democracy?

1:54 pm

ridiculouser i say and i am so frustrated

2:05 pm

Some of the words today are the ridiculousest

2:17 pm

omg - check out cnn -- the mob has overrun the capitol building, most senators and reps evacuated to their offices, what a total mess! Not enough police, nat. guard, or army around to get things under control

2:17 pm

Where is homeland security? National Guard??

2:18 pm

Guns drawn.....doors barricaded

2:18 pm

not enough of them, une --- the mob is huge - looks like thousands of them storming the building -- most outside are fairly calm and self controlled, but those inside are a different story

2:19 pm

riot police arriving now

2:19 pm

I'm watching same as you, Nan

2:20 pm

Appalling....and Trump says he will not speak

2:20 pm

ok - enough said -- my heart bleeds for all of you, what a disaster for your country.

2:21 pm

Disaster indeed :-(

2:22 pm

This is what Trump wanted

2:23 pm

I don't consider it a disaster. I think it makes the people involved look like assholes though.

It makes the USA look like assholes to the world. All the international pull we had 4 years ago, well this pulls the plug on that.

2:27 pm

BIG time.

nan - thank you for your support. We meed that. I think most people, globally, are dancing on this grave.

2:38 pm

Lets dispense with politics pls.

2:38 pm

Agree!

4:09 pm

am 7/32, pls

it's not amirite, amirite?

4:11 pm

nourong

LOL

not finding it, bichon

4:15 pm

ty carla. Still have 29 to go

still 44 here

4:29 pm

am7/32 am**e, italian word for love + not out + vowel. and g'day from me.

g'day, and thanks!

4:35 pm

yw

4:44 pm

back to try and knock off some of my final 54

4:45 pm

wb moolingwa

4:45 pm

tx rose

4:46 pm

hope things are peachy keen in your part of the world

37 now. this is really hard.

4:46 pm

50 now

4:47 pm

43...got my first 8

4:47 pm

well we are better off the most of the rest of the world that's for sure. how are you faring?

4:47 pm

oh, usual day in the US...president claiming the election was stolen, armed citizens storming the government and sun shining

I got my first 8 early on but not really an indicator of the rest of the day for me

4:48 pm

lol.... did someone bend over for the sun to shine?

4:48 pm

no, I live in Colorado so it shines more often than not :)

4:48 pm

haha

sunny and cold here in NC

4:49 pm

how's the new year treating you hoke?

4:49 pm

are you near cosdem then?

4:49 pm

cosdem?

about the same as last year, how about you two?

4:49 pm

we have sunshine today. i have opted to do two small loads of washing, then hopefully go out, with lots of PPE on.

4:50 pm

busy as busy can be

cosdem is a CO player that has just recently returned. he was here earlier today but I missed him

4:50 pm

I do have a moderate headache too

4:50 pm

oh

4:50 pm

he's not the drama guy is he?

moo, everyone was worried about you last week, but I knew you'd be back to work and babble this week.

4:51 pm

cosdem is a babbler who lives in Colorado. i know it's a big state but just sometimes babblers link up.

4:51 pm

Oh, just spending time playing around with my daughter

I think I even said, I bet he's having family time. Wow, I'm smart. :D

4:52 pm

there was a guy in Colorado Springs here at one point, who had a lot of personal angst

4:52 pm

lovely moo. cosdem is a strong democrat supporter.

4:52 pm

indeed hoke, got me pegged

so, my dog contracted Lyme disease sometime in the last year. luckily it is still active so he can do antibiotics

4:53 pm

I wouldn't call myself a strong democrat supporter myself, but there are certain things that we share a common belief system on

4:53 pm

doesn't that just tick you off hoke?

4:53 pm

i am looking forward to this weekend so much. all my kids and their families are home again from their combined camping trip. i finally get to Christmas with my grandies.

4:54 pm

nice rose...good times

LOL, yes, it does

yeah, have a good time

4:54 pm

oh hokie, that must have been very worrying for you.

4:55 pm

I barely worked over the past two weeks...so my normal routine was a bit off, not really time for babble in that

it was kind of random. I admit we had been kinda slack on his flea & tick meds during the pandemic because I can't keep track of days, but apparently in 90% of dogs it's not that big a deal.

4:56 pm

you all are going to have t keep me entertained. i am on re-charge and it takes about 40 minutes.

4:56 pm

got another 8

on it!

4:56 pm

35 to go

4:57 pm

just a little laptop dancing will do...loll

4:57 pm

as long as I don't sing you should be good

I have 2 8's but one was just ridiculous and I got it from a chat clue so I doubt that's the one you found. not saying you don't know the word...

4:57 pm

I don't know the word

I have a virtual meeting in 30 min

4:58 pm

I've virtually met most of the day

4:58 pm

no more for me

tell me which 8s you have, P&TY

4:58 pm

lucky hokie.....work related?

4:58 pm

W and A

nope, school soccer might finally be starting, so it's a parent meeting. normally they start in Jul/Aug but it keeps getting pushed back. my son is a senior so I'm afraid his last season won't happen at all.

4:59 pm

glad you got the u earlier, otherwise I would to have called foul

4:59 pm

i have am8, ma8, si8, and wi8

ok, I do not have the A, will look now

5:00 pm

well that narrows it down :)

5:00 pm

oh haha moo. you been taking lessons from ruru or do we have another punster in our midst?

hmm, I kept seeing the am8 but thought it was a phantom. LOL

5:00 pm

well over time I sure you worked out the value of trying it

moo and ru are the resident punsters. I think he's trying to draw ru out of the woodwork right now.

5:01 pm

you saying that ru is boring?

5:02 pm

*giggle* i still haven't leart that particular lesson moo. time and again, i find words which i have dismissed as phantoms.

5:02 pm

me neither to be honest :)

knot I

5:02 pm

but the pun wouldn't have worked

5:03 pm

27 to go

36 here

5:03 pm

gosh i love it when you all are on. with no sprite to egg me on i have become a very boring babbler.

5:03 pm

oh...sorry

5:04 pm

one should always enjoy a good sprite egging

5:04 pm

moo, she makes the most incredible sangria spiker. two glasses and i am anybodies.... loll

5:05 pm

idioter should be a word...especially in this day and age

wow

5:05 pm

I remember a few sangrias at Montezumas in Brizzie

and agreed on idioter. no, idioticer

5:06 pm

25 left...still 4x4

5:06 pm

actually 6x4 to go

only 6 gray tiles. 8 4's left. I swear I have tried everything for those.

5:07 pm

9 greys

5:07 pm

excluding the freebies

5:07 pm

HEENZHIUI

I have 9 incl. the freebies then

5:07 pm

lol... i had my first in Spain. we were in a hotel just around the corner from a line of tapas bars. we sat down at the first. asked for sangrias and when they came i swear it, you could have swam in it. it was in a brandy balloon doubled in size.

5:07 pm

looks kind of chinese

HNiSiUEUA

maybe Cherokee Indian

5:08 pm

One of my favourite birthday cards has a couple of guys sitting at a cafe with these gigantic brandy glass shaped beers and one says to the other...okay one more then we'll head home

5:08 pm

oh good call

5:09 pm

HEENiZhIUuIa

5:09 pm

loll

I am missing 2 z's

5:10 pm

5:11 pm

5:11 pm

en6. the whole of it

I tried terminis and then had to really think about how it's really spelled

5:11 pm

or do you want ALL the clues

5:11 pm

Good grief. TY!

I couldn't find that either, car. finished that e now!

now need 1 e from the upper

5:13 pm

yeah, me too

5:13 pm

20 to go...only 3x4 now

33 here

5:14 pm

from that e tile, en6/18, er4/4, and er7/48

5:14 pm

oh, completed the w...easy one to finish that

7 4s still.

5:14 pm

ok, finished the E's

5:15 pm

5:16 pm

5:16 pm

ok, finished the 4s

5:16 pm

16 to go

LOL, half of mine. 32.

5:17 pm

yes, but which half...the top half, or the bottom half

5:17 pm

or maybe it's the center, of each end

5:17 pm

of-or

ok, what is my missing N from right?

5:17 pm

my typing is abominable

yeti could still read it

5:18 pm

that was a good one

5:19 pm

snowman would disagree

thanks, probably my best one ever if I do say so myself

5:19 pm

I'm going to mark this day in my calendar

5:20 pm

finished the n's...15 to go

probably should, then I can refer ru to it later. :D

ok, what is my N?

5:20 pm

I'll get it notarized

5:20 pm

n5 perhaps

5:21 pm

at least that was my last one

has to be an ni

5:21 pm

if you don't have the 4, could be that

5:21 pm

Could be the plural I missed

5:22 pm

could be one of the others two I guess

I see it in spite of all your 'help"

it was an ni5/12

5:22 pm

we've got an 18.333333333333% chance of knowing

5:22 pm

that was my last one too

5:23 pm

and you're welcome :)

how about the P? I need one there.

5:24 pm

I still need 2 p's

5:26 pm

5:26 pm

trying to think of AZ counties and countable numbers. how do you know how high I can count?

5:26 pm

okay. the other pi6. pi + alternative spelling for dark time

5:27 pm

forget the az county

5:27 pm

5:27 pm

the 6 is the countable number

thanks, rose. got it! p's done

oh, I was thinking specific numbers.

ooh, guess I should sign into the meeting. TTFN

5:28 pm

6:33 pm

LOCK HIM UP

6:39 pm

the corn is very twisty.

6:52 pm

sire

if I was new, I might think dcseain is leaving coded messages for someone

7:02 pm

Carla, I heard from three more people today that they quit Facebook because of all the political spewing. Too bad that was once a friendly forum has become so spiteful.

it's been really bad for a while. I've been gone for a year and it was bad for a while before then. just the comments on public posts are pure vitriol. like these people forgot to care that they weren't anonymous.

and just so much disinformation spread on there. amazing how people will believe a meme or post from someone that pretends to know things over actual scientists.

7:13 pm

Media coverage plays a big role too. Some protests are portrayed as "peaceful" even when rioting and looting is involved, just to promote a "cause".

7:15 pm

and some terrorists and looters are portrayed as "protesters" for the same reason

7:16 pm

Yep, it's all in the spin

I heard someone called today's protesters "orderly"

7:24 pm

This riot in the Capitol is incredibly alarming

I told y'all I saw 10 charter buses headed that way the other day didn't I?

7:37 pm

I agree, the riot today was alarming. As were many of the other protests, that turned into disorderly conduct earlier this year. People have gone to hell in a handbasket.

yeah, riots are never cool

7:42 pm

Crowd behavior is an interesting thing. I have a friend who did his dissertation on it.

wow, I missed some really easy 4's, and I focused on 4's 2 different times today

7:53 pm

this was not an ordinary crowd, nor were the people in the crowd there to protest. They were armed insurrectionists. They had tear gas they deployed against capitol guards and the mob had every intention of committing violence. They were incited by the orange menace in the WH, his son and Rudy

7:54 pm

Guilani.

In other words, a coup.

7:56 pm

the orange stain has tried everything his diseased mind could conceive, to steal the election. Criminal behaviour is all he knows.

7:57 pm

well said, gingin. He is disgusting. He is a criminal. And so are all those terrorists at the capitol today.

7:57 pm

help with si8 please?

7:57 pm

He, and his mob, are quite ill-educated, however. Congress has no power to offset Joe Biden from the presidency. Neither Trumpy nor his koolaid drinking followers seem to realise their folly.

now they're saying he may try to do a self-pardon for any future charges in the next 14 days. no one seems sure whether that would be constitutional or not. AYFKM? how could that possibly be allowed.

kinda tough, nellie olson, I will try to do a clue.

7:59 pm

If the senate were to immediately remove him as being unfit to hold office, he would not be able to pardon himself or any mor of his criminalistic cadre.

si + ***s (greek god of love) + high point tile + hang '** high

7:59 pm

But they are too spineless to do that.

8:00 pm

Thank you Tri.

8:00 pm

thanks, hokie carla!

np

finally list-aided finish

8:21 pm

WTG HOKIE CARLA !!!

thanks, rose! you're back!

8:23 pm

yes. finally found enough motivation to go have a shower. all squeaky clean now.

me too!

8:29 pm

hubby getting lunch ready so will have to go. it just doesn't "do" to upset the chef.

if somebody would cook for me I would be waiting at the table for sure. :D have a good day!
