A couple of the women in the neighbourhood would say hi if I was outside when they walked by. I was raised Catholic but I know a lot about other religions through the news, books and movies.

i've been babbling for a few years. Don't chat much but read the chat regularly. As a Jew, I have experienced a bit of what you have Nan from the orthodox. I have actually been told I'm not "Jewish enough." Most modern Jews look at the orthodox as almost a seperate religion, respected, but very distant from what we practice. Please don't let that small representation color your view of us.

There's an strong correlation between one's politics and who will take the vaccine and who will not. In the US.
The only acceptible reason for not getting vaccinated is medical as determined by a team of specialists. That has to be pretty rare. Cancer patients are being told to be vaccinated. My granddaughter who has a rare autoimmune disease has been vaccinated. Both shots had to be worked in between her treatments, but it was done. She has had no side effects and is a lot safer than she was before.
Yes, there are people choosing based on the politics they follow. There are also people choosing based on the religion they belong to. And hey, some people just make up their own minds based on personal beliefs.

So my friend ( my god sons Mom) was fully vaccinated, my god son had not wanted to get vaccinated she got covid and gave it to him he has it much worse it can happen like that

I'll chime in and risk attack - I'm not getting vaccinated. I have a neurological disorder and while there has been a variety of testing there has not been enough on people who have neurological disorders that would allow me to comfortably get the vaccine.
When I had mine one of the women tried to leave after ten minutes and they followed her out and made her come back in for the twenty minutes
I remember when the first polio vaccines came out, a team of nurses and a doctor came into the school and vaccinated us all, classroom by classroom. The only exemptions were those with a doctor's certificate. Then when the salk vaccine came out the same procedure was repeated.
I won't attack you. I believe everyone has a right to choose for themself.

IG, we are SLOW compared to many people on the trail that go 20-25 miles daily. We prefer 6-8, get into camp early, settle in, swim, play Scrabble.

We are section-hiking for a total of 6 trips. The sprinters finish in 6-7 days, although that sounds miserable.

Yes, we stop at every lake, pond, river, and shelter. We cherish the experiences.
So there are shelters for sleeping at night and getting out of poor weather.
Lean-to, primitive shelters, are scattered on the trail but sometimes we use a campsite so set up a tent.
