hi, everyone :)
Hello to anyone I haen't said it to yet.

i think you were closesest Jacular
i mean Jacula
Happy day after mother's day, Moms. :-)
or even haven't said it to you. I went all Scottish there for a moment.
My grid page tells me "flip" does not exist in the puzzle. Well waddya know?
Was I FranMag? Wish I could be as good with Lottery numbers!

woo hoo ten words already!
yes stid - very relazing, how was your day?
I hope you all enjoyed a day of pampering. Mine was heavenly. Your first of many many many, I hope knutmeg
e 8/45
also relaxing and pleasant. nice weather to go with breakfast in bed...

I got locked out also
nope. it just froze up. had to reboot
No, Mine went bad for a good long time
mine just came back
Had to log back in.
Oh, good I wasn't the only one. Seems leaving the website and coming back worked for me
It totally threw my rhythm off. Now I'm peeved/
mine locked up. think I'll say goodnight all too many on all at once. I had hoped dr god would fix that in new version.
yeah knut- that's what usually works for me too
good night hootowl

e 8/70
good for you, helen, see you tomorrow
g'night, helenkeller!
he Dippnall -- how's the weather for you today?
'Bye Helen.
I just love it when words are repeated from grid to grid...
gloomy....good for a mon morning! great plans for the kids, tho, so should be a good day!
hope it is! Our weather is unseasonably warm -- will be like late August tomorrow
I would prefer a few days of gloom, to be honest...
I'll trade you, Stid!
We have 11 inches of rain in Boston
our weather has been cold, rainy, yucky, ew, blechy and gross. :-)
i can only see one j word
hey rebekb - when is this all supposed to stop?? enough already!
I think Wed
i've been reading about all the rain in new england... I think you have our normal spring supply...
both Js have the same base word blindeye
A lot of flooding -- and cold too!
I feel so sorry for the folks and critters in new england.
You are welcome to take it back ;)
*if only I could* :-)
ya it's nasty here in NH
ty ilandrah -- that was a good clue!
hmmm....i can't seem to find it but thx for the hint
blind -- start with the same three letters + opposite of off
jetoson
sorry...wrong box...ha ha
other box, blind...
beh
can you tell i'm new or what
er. heh.
yay typoes tonight.
how do you get the little pictures and stuff ....do you have to pay??
yeah
it's new to all of us, still! we'll just keep reminding each other... :-)
stid, you're in the puzzle again! more of you than last time, too
Yes, but it's a one time fee for a lifetime membership
yes, the paid players are "pro" and can have icons and profiles. Also permanent access to the tile and word stats...
tile and word stats???
so we are! I hadn't noticed yet
Do you see the things directly underneath the grid and word lists, blindeye?
yup
Those are the tile and word stats. They're going to go away for new users soon, or so we're told.
ohhhhh
Or for "non-pro" users, anyway
like...per round i only get to see them for a couple of minutes or so
how much is a membership?
really? they don't go away for me
okay, got 62 words, which leaves only 100 for tomorrow, which is a good round number to wake up to.
A membership is about $15
I think a membership is something like 15 dollars... but for lifetime.
the stats will stay for 14 days for all unpaid users, and then new users will see the stats for 14 days after joining...
good night all!
night night
cool, not bad. i'm on bedrest for the next 6 weeks or so. $15 is worth it.
'night
'Night Stidmama.
g'night!
because everytime i come on this site it always shows the word ;list...but i'm always on just as the game is beginning
invictus, so sorry -- hope it
togs
hope it's nothing life-threatening...
oops!
no, just pre-term labor
I don't know what that means, blindeye. I don't know what the intention of Dr_God is
and see you tomorrow then, invictus! and Jacula... :-)
nite
cool
Clues are up. Enjoy!
yay thanks
tyvm, lickety!
100 left to find! work calls! got to go! bbl! :)
My hero!
clues??
Look at the bottom of the page for a link to lickety's clues. They're invaluable.
http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /babbleclues
k...checked it out but was all...well...it didn't make sense to me
Thanks everyone - gotta run - Have fun!
the boxes on the side tell you what words there are. example: ad5/12 means that there's a 5-letter word worth 12 points that starts with ad.
the center is a copy of the puzzle, along with stats on how many words there are and how many points they're worth
i see
cool
so if i say...
e8/70
you know what that means
yeah, but it usually helps to add the second letter.
hmm
Morning All
what i don't like about this game is that 3 letter words don't count...but it's cool that it's on for 24 hours a game
thanks for your help
morning!
et 4/5?????
e8/70 see e5/22
yup
also e 8/45 and f 8/60
anyone found the last 8 yet (have two e's and an f)?
nope cybernan
found e 4/ by monkeying around, i.e. tping randomly.
that's how I find a lot of them
it's lo 8/55
oogah oogah, gameboy!
well, go with what works, right? ;P
besides, some of the words make no sense to me.
@oo@ ...................................... .................
ryong to make a monkey face....
ok eyes are closing. 99 to go. see ya'll tomorra
haha

hey cyber
i'm from can too
di4/7 neone?
plow
yeah got that one
Nan, I'm surprised that you're willing to ad*** to that
ty melon -- was looking for that word, but couldn't see it.
its how you make a hole
anyone got J 5/20? Can't find it.
ty
hey cyber...i live in calgary
not that you care but
i think its cool seeing other canadians on here
OK 85 left, must stop & sleep. Nite!
i can't see that last 8 lo word at all
anyone got J 5/20? Can't find it.
i think i have to go to bed too
Sorry, JE 5/20
yup
both j words have the same base
any clues that I may find of interest?
base word ples the opposite of off
you get it??
still looking...
looks french to me.
ples = plus
i got it blind eye, ty
yes sorry...getting tired
how does that get me 20?
i don't know
i haven't figured out how the scoring works
Well, thanks for the help, I guess I was getting hung up on the points. Need to clear that one up for myself.
My 4th puzzle, just figuring out what you are all talking about, thanks, guys!
how does the scoring work??any pros wantr to take this one
Each tile has a point value. To determine the score for a word, the point-value for the length of the word is multiplied by the total letter values for the word: 4-letter word = 1 x Points 5-letter word = 2 x Points 6-letter word = 3 x Points 7-letter word = 4 x Points 8-letter word = 5 x Points 9-letter word = 6 x Points Example: Word: BABBLE Points: 3 x (3+1+3+3+1+1) Total: 36 pts.
blindeye, read help for scoring.
maryms, you'll find that everyone here is really cool and helpful.
Thanks Jacula
necti
cool ty
woops
tx. Also just discovered lickity splitaus, now I am starting to get it. had covered the chat line initially but it is so helpful
lo8, thanks to jaianniah

im exhausted, ill cya guys l8er, gl to all
Color me baffled--does anyone have a clue for is 7/36? is it the same base as the other ises?
no 6/18, NE1?
Morning everyone :)
no/6 an idea
no 6/18 is the same as lo 6/18..
samantha - is 7/36 starts with the same first three letters and then a go 4/6
i don't have lo 6/18
D'oh! I was using the wrong o!!
Thanks so much
you get a no**** in your head
yw, glad to help
melonhead, what do folks do when their skin is dry? They apply lo****
No6/18 and Lo6/18 use the same ending as the e8's
oh, i have both of those - better hit the hay.
anyone have help for st 6 and st 7?
oh, it's no 6/21,not 18 that i need
Well then melonhead, I'll just put it up on a no**** board for you
got it!
tx SJ
sorry, nut, haven't got there yer
t
yet*
Apparently I'm a little drowsy too
just to annoy everyone i have found a 4 letter word with 3 vowels - - - in a row!
Show off.
That fills me with dread...
I just found a FIVE letter word with three vowels in a row, so there!!!!
(Well, if you count you-know-what as a vowel)
It gets worse...
shuddup! (said w/smile)
*tthhhppppbbbbbtttttt*
I second melonheadjujube's motion. *snickering*
well, now that our inner two-year-olds have come out to play....
Yikes. I've been trying to complete puzzles on my own w/o the log lately but I just had to peak in to see if everyone was as baffled as me. Glad to see I'm not alone! This one's a killer.
I've got fifty words left and I'm about to start screaming for help soon
obviously for some of us (me! me! me!) its waaaaaayyyyyy past our bedtimes, and I blame this on my mommy, cuz she didn't put me to bed on time LOL
OK really, i'm off to bed - i'm setting a terrible example for the kids....lailah tov!
50 - yer GOOD! me: 37 2 go. nite. really.
Before you go, melonhead--
73 to go. i can't type.
yessss?????
I've got 26 left and my eyes are utterly crossed. Those long Is words -- I don't know what they could possibly be!
i have 43 to go and I have got to join the to-bed-bunch.
nite all - good luck
Your family is Jewish, right? Mine isn't. That makes my family (a five letter word with three vowels in the middle, if you count you-know-what)
I feel like a slacker now, I still have a whole 46 words to go!
oh, don't call yourselves THAT. 'taint - ummm, genteel.
nite!
Whaa! I want agony and insignia...
Yebbut did you FIND it?
Avaneko, I wasted twenty minutes trying to force agony into this puzzle
long ago
*sigh* OK then, g'night Melonhead
have no idea re: the is longies.
byeeeeeee!!!!!
is longies: take off the a of agony and throw an is OOOOhhhh!! in front of it.
then remove the sometimes vowel and throw a different vowel which is all second place in the lineup on the end.
Ty.
then just take that silly last vowel off completely
Thanks much, knutmeg!
You're welcome! (Actually, thank Jaianniah, too, she found the last one for me)
isn't my daughter nice?
I'll happily thank anyone who could find those -- thanks, jai!
Thanks much! Those would have driven me crazy.
Hah. Now I want inflict...
found two of the 8's (both e's)
you can make the f8 out of one of the e8s sorta. reflect on that... (hint, hint)
thanks
Yeah, it's the one that *wasn't* just clued that I don't have. :((
think 2004, 2006, 2008....
That's one fo the ones I have, ry, but thanks.
OK, I'm going to go allfocus-y on the yos for a while. Wish me luck.
the other e8 - think what a pilot really doesn't want to do...
can anyone please give me a clue for the go 5/20 please
the L8 is trickier to hint at but, it relates to the lo5/16 the technicalities of planning maybe?
Hmmmmmmm
means to calculate lo***ally
starts with a piece of a tree, then throw two suffixes onto it
it's usually found in the plural, but isn't here.
okay, seriously need to go to bed, just yawned for like two minutes straight. 45 words left. g'night, all! good luck!
OH GOD! I finally got it. I don't think I've ever seen the word without an "s" on the end before
OH GOD! I finally got it. I don't think I've ever seen the word without an "s" on the end before
'night
Thank you and goodnight knutmeg, and thank you gameboyguy
go 5/20 anyone please
Night
you're welcome Samantha!
Sorry, ruthy, I haven't been ignoring you I just don't have it yet.
ruthy- it's yiddish, I think
Ruthy - a disparaging term for one who is not a Jew.
Oh THAT one.
OK, maybe I do have it.
it's also plural.
go + sometimes vowel + last two letters of opposite of her
Jacula -- it's not disaraging -- it just simply is another nation
lite
ty jacula and knutmeg
for some reason, I trust ARB on yiddish terminology.
Right. That's the second time tonight someone has implied that it's not a "nice" word, but I have never heard it used that way.
don't know why
OOOPs
I think she said disparaging becuase that's what the dictionary.com entry says
Everyone knows that dictionary.com is full of gentiles.
obviously you'd know better though, right?
you're welcome ruthy. g'night!
Unlike, say "shiksa" but that's because of my grandmother-in-law who just doesn't understand why her grandson--oh never mind
yeah, dictionary.com is wrong a lot.
I'm have problems with the l8 - any more hints?
Ry, it pertains to the L5. Think "plan"
I have more than one L5 - which L5?
lo 5/16
lo5/16
ARB - Thanks. You'd know better than me on the Jewish stuff.
okay but I'm still not seeing it
I don't know where to start with the Y's
It's an odd word, and the clues are difficult because the word itself is only defined as "of or relating to lo******" but it doesn't end in "ly"
good morning everyone:)
G'morning madam
Half way....
Evening/Morning all!
gote
oops
Morning Mr P
GOOD MORNING MR PRESIDENT I'm feeling a little bit exuberant today. Pay me no mind.

It's a Yiddish word that means "non-Jew"
It's a Yiddish word that means "non-Jew"

*happywrigglebuttdance*
How's the grid today?
5 i's in the grid today
no milf?
Student? I didn't even understand your question
Oops. I looked it up. It has several meanings and whilce acronyms aren't generally included, I now have no idea whether you were talking about sex or politics.
bye all bbl happy babbling:)
help with is7,36...please :)
Good morning all.
gm Haz :)
Morning Haz
Is the weather dreary in Scotland as well?
Raining - but thats a good thing (all things green getting greener)
I'm going to be across for a quick trip tomorrow and Wednesday to pick up my daughter (and her stuff!) from Edinburgh.
Think you'll need to pack a raincoat I'm afraid...
Ah well - we'll manage. It's not as if we're not used to the rain! This is a tricky grid, I'm finding, so far.
Fireworsk. More than two hours. Too much time
Well done scraggly
You sound disgruntled! Congratulations anyway, scraggly.
Any hints for fi5/22???
Add the sometimes vowel to the thin layer of fi4/8
hi haz
like a movie...
Good morning scatty!
Tx, Haz1558, I'm new to this!
Welcome to the game Maryms. It's fun but terribly addictive, so be warned!
whats it like today
I think it's tricky.
I've broken my record for finding words that *ought* to exist..... sigh
have been forsaking kids homework today since I discovered the clue list, too many hours, but scores much improved so far!
I think Dr_G ought to set up a sidebar where we can build our own dictionary
heh. that'd be amusing
The list is a big help, isn't it? I know some people manage without it but I think it's great.
i'm out of ideas for oi5-12...
oi plus spanish for day or the start of a journal in English
Think I'm going to need to resort to the list soon
thanks
It's helped me to understand how the whole thing works...
hi who here
hi any one wanna chat with a gay male
Morning dear gang :)
Good morning sprite.
Morning Sprite
Hey Lamancha :) How's the grid today?
Hi Sprite!
Oohh tricky I'd say
johnnyboy - dating agency?
Hi mrP, CJ :)
johnnyboy, we actually prefer not to discuss our sexual lives and inclinations...I'm sure there are other sites where you can do that.
And Haz!
Good Morning Haz, Sprite, Mrpresident, et.al Haz, wish I were going to Scotland with ye
lol gramma
hey sprite - time to tackle the board
aww... does that mean none of you wants the trashy romance novel/ autobiography i planned on posting?!
*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
rumple - you wouldn't say that if you had to carry her stuff down three flights of stairs! However, it's always a thrill to visit Edinburgh, as it's where I went to university as well.
'Fraid so :)
*sigh* your loss.
Morning my friends. I have been reading the chat and don't like the sound of this grid, however I am going to try. Nice and easy yesterday I bet everyone had fireworks!
wtg mrP!
But look on the bright side Haz - you're not carrying it *up* the stairs....
Mr P, we are not worthy
ExWren, you will love it. If only because you have us to chat with :)
LOL, thanks and glad it is over... a bit like a root canal this one!
but it could be worse
Lamancha - that is true. However, her new flat which becomes available in July is on the third floor again!
yeah, I could be carrying Haz's bags!
aha
sadly there isn't a 'b' other wise I could have got imbecile....
Wait a sec... how can there be 12 7-words in THIS grid?????
hm. i can't get either of the two go7...
I've helped too many friends move into flats in Edinburgh Haz... you have my sympathy. Luckily I'm old enough now to suggest removal firms to them!
also why is dialect not there. it should be there. so close.
Why are almost-there-words so much more visible than really-there-word?
the ones that suck are da7/44, go7/40 and go7/44 oh, and the is7/44
what really suck are foreign-language and obscure math/science words :P
help with the last go5 please
Is that the go5/20?
yes
go5 is ignorant of jews
goten
nice try!
go plus shortened version of James, but replace the j with a sometimes vowel
help on either go7?
go7 sounds like a sexually transmitted disease!
Thanks mrp! That description worked.
can't find it
thanks got it
LOL!
Now I have got all 4 7s that mrP mentioned. :) Thanks, mrP!
didn't help me much. :(
filet
morning all...well I must be little miss innocent! I dont see that go7
oggy is on a roll!!
sorry curser in wrong place
go7 - take the first three letters of the departed go4/6, add the third vowel, then either Spanish day or the first three letters of daily journal
NEVER happens to me!
Oh, me neither!! LOL !!!
your too clever
thank you Haz that worked :)
never would have gotten that otherwise. thanks
oggy, check the log a day or two ago, I entered half the grid!!
trying to get finished brfore work
whey !!! got it
mrP and I are contesting who enters the 100th word in the log first, oggy!
You're welcome.
thats as in curds and whey !
got 23 left
And when do you start work?
in 45minuites
2 minutes per word, must be a breeze, lol!
Is Hannah Lou around anywhere to help? She's usualy fast!
usually
hannah is in school i expect
hi everyone yes hannah lou is in school
A great pity.... Has she done the grid already, ruthy. do you know?
no haz i was on babble before she went to school
come on Oggy, I will clue you... let's have them!
Well, I will have to get on with the day and come back to this later on. Hope you finish on time, oggy.
I keep seeing words ending -LY. And they are not there.
thats me finished
Yeah ruthy!
thats me done
yay
wtg oggy
Gratz oggy!
im off to work now, see you all later.
thanks sprite, ruthy

my7?
yes please ruthy....91 off them!!!
well done oggy and ruthy
13 left - m's, c's and s's
gameboy do u have the my 6 if u do change the 5th letter for a different vowel then change the constant and add another vowel
ah, thanks ruthy, that's a new one for me.
no, I don't have the my6
have the my5 though
my 6 is a common protein
sprite i couldnt think of a clue for it
It was a good clue, worked for me :)
me too Ruthy thank you
my 6 add a constant between the two vowels in my 5 and change constant for another one
okay, got them both, thanks
one more... go7/44.
go7/44's kinda like go7/40... ya gotta change one letter
okay, thanks. yay!
Gimli isn't valid! Enable needs a LOTR lesson very badly.
just managed to get all of the 8's. still have 140 words left to go though lol
I have none of the 8s yet :(
I have one Sprite...extension of el5
Ah, of course! Thanks :)
you are very welcome :)
All the 8's have that extension too, if that helps! :)
ty Mr P
Sure does. May I beg for the starting letters or is it too early for that?
that da6/7 is strange...need to go look it up lol
ej8/70
There are 2 da6/7, alt. spelling, rank in feodal Japan. Found F8 :)
if its da6/30 or da7/44 its a japanese word meaning warlord..
fl8/60
good morning everyone : )
Lola! :D *hug*
yes got it by monkeying just looked it up :)
hi Lola long time :)
two left - both my's
Only one 8 missing now. What is the fourth starting with?
lo 8/55 has a very different ending, but it comes of the lo5/16
{{{sprite}}} how are you?
hi kallia! you can say that again! how goes things? : )
ty Mrp all 8's done now
not too bad Lola...been very busy. How about you?

yeah, busy too...but good : )
great :)
ok have 57 left...going back to do the rest of my ironing :( later guys
later kallia : )
one m left...
good morning everyone! Could I beg some clues for the lo8/55 and the whole long my series? The rain seems to be creating mold in my cranium (that's todays excuse)
got it - fireworks!
I saw your clue a little while back, mrp, about the lo5/16, but still can't see it.
lo8/55's about the art of making sure u have what you need
elfid
go eva!!
okay...that was enlightening wasn't it folks?
hi eva : ) it is also what firms that transport goods by truck call their business : )
congrats rycaut
lo8 - is what warehousing and freight companies call themselves now-a-days
today is strange. ive managed to get all the 8's but none of the 7's
got it!! Thanks you guys. Do they really call themselves that?! Not here in New England-we don't go for such high faluting stuff(-:
so how about those my's?
my6/27's a common protein..
have that one burke-aren't there some others too?
eva, yup. you see loads of trucks on the road here with 'ABC Lo8/55s' emblazoned on the side : )
there're even people who go to college to study that stuff
Here they are movers and if they get your stuff from point a to point be without losing or destroying it all you feel properly thankful.
my7/40's a plant... mouse ear's the clue.. (am wondering what rules are there on hinting for the chat box)
LOL!
burke-that clue was well within the custom....usually as the day goes on clues get more blatant.
-lol- so when the hours left start to dwindle.. obscurity goes out the window?
burke...pretty much! lol : D
exactly-as desperation sets in. Usually for the first few hours (as defined by those whose hours are the earliest around the world) people just give the first letter, length and point count and then things loosen slowly but surely. It also depends how pitifully one begs
-lol- so those who can do the verbal equivalent of puppy eyes would get the blatant clues? =)
...I always find that batting my eylashes furiously helps too... : D
Goodnight all! My flu has just about destroyed me so better drug up and self-comatose for now! BYE!
take care man...
bye mrP : )
oh mrp not the flu! Isn't it too late for that? Doesn;t you body know that the flu is for the winter? Oh-just realized that you are in a different season. take care-lots of fluids, sleep and cats.

Thanks, burke-finally got the strange mousy plant
it wasnt entering form my end, it was only dropping a line
eva> np =)
Are there any Normal 'A' words?
how ever did y ou come across that plant burke? Dont tell me the word just happened to be on the tip of your tongue? Where are you?
eva> nah.. i just read a lotta weird stuff...
cj, yes! there is goodbye in another language, and to be in the centre of something, and to confess : )
jes CJ, there are several-some of them, though, are spanish...3 of them, actually. But the mine entrance ones are there, and to let someone in, for starters
Can anyone clue the oi5/12? Or am I being blind (I keep ALMOST seeing words...)
thanks eva! hadn't seen the other two spanish ones : )
oi + day in spanish
so burke-do you want to remain enigmatic...just a shadow of yourself?
What kind of word is that - thanks burke!
eva> i'm from singapore.. as for the profile, i've not got the money to upgrade my account =) i'm just a poor student..
amazing that there are several players from Singapore now....who ever would have thunk? I've never met anyone from there before. What are you studying?
im a poor english student, using the crappy 6th form computers
i'm from singapore too, as a matter of fact:)
hi zombee!
hellooo!
hellooo!
hellooo!
oops
very enthusiastic of you zombee(-:
burke - there is no 'H' in the puzzle, so the word for 'day' in espanol (hoy) cannot be made. Is there another clue for the oi5/12 that can be given?
haha that was an accident:)
boat-the spanish word begins with a d
no...day is in spanish...starts with d
haha jinx!
Ohmig-d, I was thinking of the word for 'today'. My bad, sorry :)
forgiven:)
eva> i was a computer science student.. now i've graduated...
anyone have a clue for that one "i" at the top?
boat> np =) we all make mistakes =)
Thanks for the clue, I figured out the word.
eva> i + a word for center
imidi
oh i got it
sorry, me water bottle fell over lol
So did you guys grow up in Singapore? And I now this is incredibly ignorant, but you know we North Americans are, but does everyone in Singapore speak english?
thanks burke-never heard that one before
waile
hmm.. as a rule of thumb, u can take it that everyone above the age of 35 can speak english reasonably..
jo jo-cursoritis strikes again
erm.. i meant below the age of 35
But your knowledge of english is way beyond even most "native" english as a first language speakers.
ah, but as a result, my mother tongue, mandarin sucks in comparison =)
I wish I were bilingual. My french used to be almost fluent, but that was 30 years ago. Then I studied Hebrew for many years, but didn't begin until my 40's and found it very rough going. I can get along in it, but that's all. Then I learned a small bit of Spanish. Also, the foreign language section of my brain is now totally jumbled, so when I try to speak either French or Hebrew what comes out is an inadvertant mixture of the 2 which no one can understand.
-lol- age does tend to do that to language faculties u know =)
I can just about speak English - :-) Ive found two A words which I have no idea existed A4-5 and A5-12 plural Madness
age does many things....on the plus side though, if one is lucky and works at it, comes some increasing equanimity, self-awareness and acceptance. Something has to balance things out(-:
although it does get bad if age starts to mess with the wiring in the grey matter =)) that kinda ruins the fun of growing old... but then again.. i'm only 25, what do i know? =))
absolutely-need to protect that wiring all we can. Partially just having the right genes. Also use it or lose it. And stress is clearly a killer-bad for everything. Not that it can be avoided in this very difficult world, but one can learn to handle it better.
okay-when I start waxing philosophical it's because I'm not finding any words any more. 53 left and time to buckle down.
hence babble should be recommended as an excellent workout for the mind? =))
well, I'm 56 and still can say my name, so it seems to be working(-:
go 5 20 help needed please
go plus abbreviated form of James, but change the J for a sometimes vowel
53?? ive got 113 left and ive been playing for over 2 hours
grim-somewhat derogatory term for non-jews
thanks
grim> its yiddish in origin..
clue for single i word? rightmost column middle row..
jo jo-there are days when I spend hours getting 20 words. Today it was flowing for a while, but now I'm stuck
don't have it yet burke
in4/4 add a couple of vowels
ionian
This is a true story. When my dad and I flew to Oregon to check out the university I was thinking of attending, we were approached in the airport by two young men who explained they were reprenting the Jews for Jesus, and would we be interested...my dad stopped them there and said "No thank you, we're go5/20 for Moses". LOL!
eva have you tried lickety's babble page? it will provide some words if you use the right links, but it requires a lot of looking
oops again!
I usually hold off on lickety and Bj's pages until I've gotten down below 30 left,. Otherwise it takes too much effort and wreaks havoc on my body.
thanks haz
You're welcome, burke
matty that's wonderful!!!!
i cant get on to it now because of restrictions on the school computers
Back again - how's everyone doing?
i keep meaning to make a doctors appointment but i havnt got round to it nearly a week later
Hello Lamancha - I'm supposed to be cleaning..... The grid is still tricky!
64 to go - might have to go to the list
i've got a question: what IS the list that everyone seems to be mentioning? don't seem to see it anywhere
st 5 10 ? . my last one and i must finish cos the grand kid is on the way. no babbling with her around.
Friends of Babble, below the grid - lickety's babble clues
the last st
http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /babbleclues
st5/10 - have you got the gate and the rock?
grim> another word for rock
ah.. thanks =) guys, but i think i'll just plug on for a while more...
burke, there are several helpful lists-one of them is BJ's, which is found at babblers anonymous, and the other is licketys-found at the link below the grid. Both are complete lists of words with second letters, length and point value.
on5/12?
its st 5 18 i need , sorry
on 5/12 = opposite of off + muscle spasm
thanks ilan!
st 5/18 = a cheap cigar
thanks ilan-
thanks again-never saw that spelled with the sometimes vowel
the only time i've heard the cheap cigar word is in the roger miller song. good job i listned. thanks for your help
ah.. thanks ilan.
missing 4 y's. have the wise guy(s) and the female thing.
Female thing plural. And then I am missing the same 3.
thanks sprite!
Thanks!
Found another one: like the wise guy.
Y5/20 that is.
thanks sprite!
And another one, again only the last letter differs from the wise guys. Monkeytyping is paying off ;)
yup-just got the yo5/18
not the plural wise guys -the other 5/18
just one left to find
The last ones a Yo6/30 add a vowel to the 5/18 you just got
Yeah, found the last one! Yo6/30, the other 5/18 + vowel.
ah.. thanks sprite.. got the y5/20...
Hehe, GMTA
64 words in 25 minutes isn't bad... off to wake the household (again)... back later!
YAY!!! we finished them!
4 greyed-out boxes now, plus the 0/0 one. And 55 left to find.
erk.. clue for the other y5/18? hmm
42 left now. Merp thinks this is a good time for a raw chicken break. See you in a while.
The plural wise guys one with another last letter.
-lol- thanks sprite... another related word to the wise guys...
Yups, they are close to eachother :)
-lol- y6/30... my my, they're quite gender conscious...
bah.. 61 to go....
Finally found the last 8, Lo8. Now I feel stupid.
J's Got one, the flying one clue for other?
Je5/20 starts the same, end with opp of off
One flying thing + not off.
Hi again....I made it over the mountain and into the arms of my grandbaby. Sprite why don't you clue me the lo8, so I can appreciate your feelings of stupidity
gramma> lo8 is a fancy word that moving companies would use =)
Cheers - though never heard of it so thanks as would have been there for ages!
Lol gramma! Hug your grandbaby from me. Lo8 is the word for everything related to transportation of goods.
Right, Ive tried to understand this - why are there two E sections?
I can gatehr there are 8 E words but what is 0/2?
I'll actually have to think about that...it's not jumping out at me. Thanks
In case anyone is interested, J5s were a token or coin-like medal produced across Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries. They were produced for the purpose of acting as a money substitute in games, similar to modern casino chips or poker chips.
gramma the Lo8 is sort of related to the Lo5/16
lo/8 relating to reasoning
thanks sprite
CJ25> the two Es in the middle row leftmost column are en4/4 and et4/5
CJ, there are 8 E-words starting from the upper left E-tile, and there are 2 starting from the E middle left tile.
go5/20 anyone? I asked earlier, then had to dash off, and can't find the place in the chatlog.
hydra> go5/20 is a yiddish word for non-jew
Thanks, burke. Got it.
np, hydra
Sprite thats helped me a lot thanks it was bugging the hell out of me
i'm new here. is there a translater button for what you guys are talking about? :)- thanks for any help.
yw :)
Dax try angelsong's babble page, theres a link at the bottom :)
Dax - dont you understand english?
Lol Dax, welcome here. You mean like go5/20: there is a valid word, starting Go, 5 letters long, worth 20 points.
that wasnt meant to be rude Dax :-s
Hiya, everyone!!!!!
lol. it's not the english part. but that was a good one. i chuckled
Hey movieman :)
5 letters including the go part?
I'm just ba-ba-babbling along....dialect/s...happy as could be...then I looked up and realized it's not there 8(
Jups, including the go part.
np. i found it quite funny
61 words going to eat!!!
cool. thanks everyone
phew Dax dont want to sound wude
Poor gramma... small consolation that lots of us share your disappointment ;)
billmster, put those words down! You can't eat them.
No wonder I cannot find the words, if billmster is eating them!
indigestible!!!!!
If this rain keeps up, I'm going to build a little damlet.
Now that would be a beautiful 12-word!
I know, sprite. This is very unfair..the words are to be shared
I like damlet. Would have had a plural too.
Can someone please kick me hard, next time I try to enter 'agnostic'?
I wish my felice jacket was waterproof
I wish I hadn't found those gi6 and 7 so early..I think they've affected my response time.
put cling film around it gramma
good afternoon everyone :)
Ut-Oh baby crying bbl
Hi jean :)
bye gramma
Your response time sounds okay to me, gramma, seeing how fast you run to your grandbaby :) CU later.
Now I'm struggling with the y - I have the 'dirty' female word, and the 'smarter than your average bear' three words...
afternoon all
matty> all of the yo words are kinda related..
The female word has a plural. The bear had 3 5-letter words starting with it, only last letter differs. And then there is Y6/30, first Y5/18 + vowel.
think along the indian wise guy line
I've got the Indian wise guy, and multiple Indian wise guys, and being like an Indian wise guy...I have the multiple lady bits as well. BTW, Burke, are you on Ciao?
ciao?
matty> there's also the female indian wise guy...
You are missing the wise guy ending in not out, and the 6 that builds on that one.
Guess not. There's a burke on www.ciao.co.uk#
-lol- that's certainly not me =)
Can't seem to see any 7's OR 8's today......
Well, with only 4x8 and 12x7 that is not so strange ;)
movieman think of when you go to the polls
movieman> 3 of the 8s end with a very common suffix for english words..
Thanks, guys!
Burke - they may do, but what do they BEGIN with?
2xE, 1xF,1 x L for the 8's
Ej, EL, FL and Lo.
movieman> first, think of the polls...
Lo being the one with the other suffix.
movieman>2nd think of wot u wanna do to the guys u went to the polls for..
movieman> 3rd, kinda like wot u see in the mirror.. but missing a prefix..
LOL burke!
lo8's a word for the science of transportation of goods and materials...
Good morning Babblonians:)
Hi there daisy :)
sprite> i try my best =))
Hi sprite:)
You put a big smile on my face, burke :)
man, this board is more frustrating than...erm...my not having slept in over 24 hours.
goo afternoon daisy
Can't get that lo8.....
Hi Tiger:)
movieman> think moving companies... u may have seen their trucks? e.g. ABC Lo......
do you ahve the Lo5/16 movieman?
movieman: what all our chat messages are put into + form of to be + funny nervous habit.
movieman: peice of lumber + present tense of "to be" + have a ***-Tac to freshen your breath + plural.
erm, scratch the plural. i'm dumb.
Got it, thanx all......
You are not dumb, dbridges, we are just one S short.
so did I! ty:)
lol -- sprite, i could give you a laundry list of reasons to support my dumbness theory, but thanks for the thought =)
me too, thanks
Babble rule number 1: never blame yourself, blame the grid! ;)
i blame the government!
Rightly so.
stupid el8/45.
Mr Spock would have liked the lo8!
The problem with EL8 is that you can only choose between bad, worse and worst.
given the results of our last el8, i'm rooting for an ej8.
I must just be having a really thick day, I've only got 46 and am already reaching for this list :)
well forget the bad its worse and worst only.
Ej 8 is a goon one its an extension of Ej6
good one not goon
LOL!
ej8 is frequently handled by goons, however.
elecion
whoops - sort of
Democracy gives us the choice/Of which machine to vote with/or to choose which brand of razor blade/you'd rather cut your throat with.
Close, CJ, very close :)
I know :-s
hi all :)
hi Atalante:)
goons do a lot of them indeed.
hi atalante
hi Atalante
Hi Atalante :) *hug*
this looks fun today :)
Welcome, Atalante.....
Right into your alley, Atalante, lots of interesting words.
an immediate new favourite word found by trial and erorr - fi6/33
about as fun as jumping into a shark tank dressed in a seal costume.
exactly sprite! :)
hellooooooooo y'all....how's everyone??? hope y'al had a good weekend....
You will love the Go7s.
Hi mimie :)
Sprite - cluez for the go7's......?
hi sprite........
Ai, movieman, they are hard to clue. One is 'left' minus last letter + a thought (change one letter). The other one is the same, except for the last letter.
aha yes - got the second one. great words
Do they have definitions, Sprite.....?
I *do* like that ending in this grid
one could say that men tend to think with something like them, if one were feeling scientific
One is plural for asexually produced reproductive cell, such as a zeospore, found in certain algae. The other one is like one of them.
great clues, sprite
Lol Atalante :)
stupid clue, but it amused me LOL
Me too, Ata ;)
That's it, I've had enough man bashing for one evening. I'm terribly offended, and therefore am leaving.
</pathetic attempt to cover up the fact that he's utterly screwed on this grid, and give himself an excuse to leave>
ow. don't mention bash in association with the other words. sounds painful
go7= y4/6 (replace the first alpha with G) + first 3 alphas for the princess who died
hi
Who bashed? *looks around innocently* Bye dbridges :)
later dbridge
bye dbridges!
Atalante - howsabout a clue or two for that fi6/33 you found straightaway......
*giggles* its very appropriate for you ...
This grid makes me realise I can only do four letter words :)
If there is one here that should not have to ask the Fi6, it's you, movieman.
yeah! what sprite said!
Hihi, Ata, from your mind to my fingertips...
Can't believe I didn't see that one...... *Slaps himself very, VERY hard with the haddock*
Katie - plurals?
LOL :)
I like Haddocks hehe
movieman - don't hit yourself too hard, I still can't see it!!! Give me time :)
roflol
9tanks - man, i am Not getting that clue (and i have y4/6)
just wanted to say morning abe. i'm off to work in a few, but happy babbling.
CJ25 - that is the only 5 letter words I am getting today. I think I will need to come back tonight in a more intelligent frame of mind
hey bluephlox!
i'll drop you an email later! enjoy work
go7= y4/6 (replace the first alpha with G) + first 3 alphas for the british princess who died
katie, with the 4s and the plural 5s you will have more than half already! wtg!
go7= y4/6 (replace the first alpha with G) + first 3 alphas of the british princess who died
saint did you get it
saintf - look to the right, then up....
well, i'm reading it, yes, but i mean i don't "get" it ;)
Now I've got the Fi 6.......not doing the whole fish things too fragile, I will save up for tomorrow :)
Repeating the same clue will not make it any clearer, 9tanks :)
hehe sprite - you tell 'em
yes it will sprite! its the same trick as speaking louder to someone who doesn't understand your language! always works! :P
yeah I know it... I dont know why I did it.
Go7s: One is 'left' minus last letter + a thought (change one letter). The other one is the same, except for the last letter.
LOL Atalante!
I'm now trying to get the y4/6 still.
Very true Atalante hehe
hi all.
how's the grid?
still cant get the Fi6
sorry, just brushed my teeth, sounds good abe:) talk to you later!
hi jpb
Hi Jbp
Hi jbp, very interesting today.
or jbp
later bluephlox!
Can't get anything from the a in the bottom right corner, or the n immediately above it........ Help, plz.....
sorry. I'm in a very silly mood today :) woot!
omg. ok i got it - tough though
fi6 plural of MacD's fi_ _ _ of Fish
CJ, one could say movieman is a rather Fi6 guy.
yeah, i'm sensing it's tough
whooooohoooooooo
bottom right A4 - a spice
*SHAMELESS PLUG* Hey, everyone. A friend of ours, Gary Lakritz, is doing a looonnng walk to raise money for the Rose Margaret Foundation to raise money to aid research into Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH). It is a rare form of cancer, that affects certain white blood cells. I promised Gary I'd let people know - please check out the website: http://www.rosemargaretwalk. co.uk/index.html where you can find out how you can help, if you're so inclined.
atalante - sprite - 41 words left and only 2 are 4's!!
movieman-an4/4 - sounds like a spice.
LOL@self -- silly, MILF isn't a word!
Great clue jbp, but I think they were talking about a different one :)
i'm in trouble.
hi hirshy!
HURSHY!

jfarber, i always try to get milf
hurshy, you mean for not chatting with me more often?
trouble trouble trouble
Hi Hurshy
What did you do Hurshy?
oh, and there's that silly vulva representation for a goddess figure one AGAIN...
Morning everyone.
Hurshy: only 4 words to go and there's a 6 and a 7 among them. Don't talk to me about trouble.
Morning musicmom
Katie - I suppose you were disappointed with the result of the cup final then.....
i have 41 words left and only 2 are 4's!!!!!!
will do mattygroves....
morning musicmom, hurshy, and everyone else. i was rude and didn't say good morning before
Hiya, MM......
86 left, but I haventbeen here long! honest!
that is much less trouble sprite, i have 11 7's and 10 6's and an 8....
Oh only that.....<G>
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaad girl abe ;) Morning to you too.
Hi movieman!
ack
Disappointed doesn't cover it. Lost my voice singing and I'm absolutely shattered but at least the face paint came off. I'm sure I will appreciate what a good match it was and how good it was to be there in time, but not today :)
:)
what? musicmom is here? I thought she'd given up on babble! :}
Hard core addicts never give up :)
Katie - I'm the same whenever Chelsea lose to Liverpool..... And the Blues & the Reds will be battling it out yet again in the Community Shield......
BBLLLTTT --I've just been playing early. Yesterday i was done before you got out of church:-)
How could musicmom give up? ONce an addict always an addict
I kept checking to see if you were on.
who is off to Paris wednesday?
I was almost done before I went to church yesterday. Only had 7 to find when I got home...
UGH I can't remember the vulva goddess. I would have thought I would remember that word
I was disappointed that there were so few words.
I had planned on doing babble all day. I was done in less than an hour
Made Greg watch Shall We Dance instead:-)
Anyone care to assist me with the n, 4th row right......
done sudoku yet, hurshy?
CJ25 - who is off to Paris on Wednesday? I hope they like football :)
DUH already had the goddess
Josh and I napped! I'll have to tell you what a fool I made of myself in worship - but it's a phone conversation...
no, not today ata, what level is it?
Good morning all, just starting. ALL words to go!!!
hard I think, but its a really nice one
HI inge
movieman - n4 something you cook with the last three letters
You? Make a fool of your self??
katie - loads of my pals are Arsenal fans
adil
Movieman: something made of egg (pl), something to hit with a hammer (change one letter), ni4 babblet, na4 babblet.
i thought i was getting good at babble. i see now it was just an illusion.
wtg inge ;) Join the club!
And I'm not talking about wearing a loaf of bread on my head for the bell music...
he, I am already in the club, will not chat while I am seraching, Sorry
LOL Sounds like you better call me.
We all do it, inge, np. Please chat on, don't want to lose your input :)
oh and sprite - i would chat with you lots - it's a time zone problem... you are mostly on when i am asleep :)
Sprite - the egg one comes off the OTHER n......
Sarah's International fair was moved to tonight and tomorrow. At least we didn't have to be at school all weekend.
cj25 That's good I was worried that innocent people were going out there no knowing there was a game on. I hope they do it.
In that case you need another na4 babblet, last letter differs. Always have a problem reasoning back which words come from which tiles :)
Really? did you make her constume or was she able to borrow one?
We were able to borrow one. I just didn't have time to go to Columbus looking for a pattern.
hurshy, just teasing, we chat when we can, right? ;)
Probably wise, since she wouldn't eer wear ut again.
Think Arsenal deserve to win - rub egg in Tottenhams Hotspurs face hehe
I'd better go and do some work, I'm going horseracing at 4.30 and have only talked football all day. See you tonight :)
indeed sprite :)
That's what I thought. I'm just nervous about her wearing something that isn't ours and comes from half way around the world.
At least she should get points for authenticity
*glares at cj25* like lasagne, do you? :)
I in all honesty love lasagne
lol so do I
lo 8/55?
Fireworks! Yeah, nailed the bast@rd!

hooray for Sprite!
well at least you didn't overtake me today sprite - that's always so humiliating
Sorry Ata, but we had heard so much about how you were going to put us down before the season started it was lovely for the hammers.
Wouldn't dream of doing that, hurshy, especially not to you!
*sputter sputter*
All Y-words are Yo.
MM - I've only got one and its yo
j 5/20?
I really wanted West Ham to win the cup, 'cos it would have meant Chelsea would have avoided playing Liverpool for the umpteenth time in the Community Shield......
j5/20: flying thing + not off.
Hi folks. I've just got my fireworks :)
thanks, Sprite!
must be french...
Thanks sprite
spritey spritey aphrodite, i have a group of four yo's and a combo of two, what else should i have?

BRAVO Jac
eureka
Do you have the Yo6, hurshy
I had a real problem on Saturday, my husband is a Liverpool fan, and my two youngest sons are West Ham, and they had tickets for the match, they were gutted!
lo 8/55?
It would have been a better match with us as the matches between you too are always awful, but it just wasn't to be :(
yes, see that eureka there, that was me finding the y
Some of those i's & d's took some finding!
Greyed my Y!
are there any wy words?
jbp: related to transportation.
i really do think lo6+y should be a word.
no, SMF
Many wy-words, but none in this grid.
thanks Hurshy
LOL sprite
hehehe - Sprite!
Really am going now, bbl to finish (said casually as if I didn't have 101 left to find)
;)
I just can't believe the number of times Chelsea and Liverpool have played each other in the last two years......
I can't seem to "grey" anything this morning...
anoy
BGL - You could be 'greying' your hair, if you're not tearing it out.LOL.
Ive greyed the 2nd e
annoy
sh** - sorry
Crap innit!
lo 8... transportation??
It is slow going for me too BGL. the y, j and lower corner a are all I have greyed.

Happy Babbling, folks! Must go... too much to do, too little time.:(
Lo8: what all our chat messages are put into + form of to be + funny nervous habit.

thanks hAZ!
ohhhhhh, wow u r good even when u r sick huh??? good job.......:)
grrr. i've just found a 9 letter word that *should* be allowed
dilection?
spritely sprite, THANKS!!
admiction
There's a lot of Spanish in this grid......
nah, i was asking for hints for the most part just now... am trying to finish up now on my own power..
its an alternative spelling of admixion
i thought if you could have predilection you would be able to have dilection, or am i spelling the p wrong anyway?
but ata, you'd have to reuse the i, it won't go.
think you're spelling it right
obvious you can only pre it!
i'm with you , Hurshy
oh poo
pu pu for two
just one more L for the lower box and then i shall have the first and last columns all grey
movieman: do you mean am5/14 and am6/27? I don't seem to have an Ad6/27.
i want logicle - clearly, a popsicle that says "if p, then q, if not q, then not p"
groan ---- hurshy LOL
Go hurshy!
Ad6 and Ad7plural its when you confess to something
hiya everyone!
That's Ad6/24, not 6/27 though.
bexie! :)
HI Bex
yeah whoops I got that bit wrong
And there is no Ad7.
hiya hurshy! :)
so its Ad5 and 6
how was edinburgh?
there is another ad5
ooh and another
which ones do you have sprite?
The other Ad5 words are both only 12 points, not 14. That's why I wondered if movieman meant AM and not AD.
I havea measly 5 out of 11
sprite, for lo, i got the 8, 2 6, 4 5, and a bunch of 4's, what d'you suppose my last one is?
I have a Ad5 14

do a lot of the 7's end the same way? i only have 2 of them... :(
last y/5 Help!
yes they do Hurshy -- most are what I would consider as partial words!
you can only use each letter once right??
Hursh, no rule; no paytern that I can see
oattern, that is
hmm, conflicting information here.
Pattern, sheeesh
only once
billmster, there are 4 y's that build off the yo 4/8
and then two more yo's that go together
sorry Hurshy -- just realized I was looking at the 8's
cnan - did you mean the 8's? who do i believe, you or ARB??
snap :)
will we get all the words we missed at the end??
but only the f8 is like a "partial word"
I see our favourite talk show host is back
I agree with hurshy on that on.
er one
Hursh -- actually both of us. I answered your question about the ends of words. There is no pattern. But the words themselves seem to be somewhat partial
morning, all
and the l 7
Hi Angel
am i the talk show host???
is7/36?
golly gee, what a puzzle.
morning angelsong
no blind -- a name in the grid that is also a word.

i mean not the break bit, but the 29 to go!
Oh...duh. I am such an idiot!
i'm finding this grid to be pretty tough
youi got to tach a class in between. That was your break. :)
but you're in the grid today, almostaghost!
yes but i received a SHOCK while teaching class.
maybe i'm comparing it too much to yesterdays
still haven't found that last i, you just found hurshy -- is it another 6 or a 7 (with one changed letter)?
there's one 6 and two 7's from that box cnan
what happened hurshy?
a haircut! a very very different haircut! i cannot get over it!
what did it look like?
it's just a LOT shorter.
shaved? mohawk? long hair to no hair?
Hey all... how is everyone today?
hi jera
i'm fine jera except for the state of shock
State of shock?? Is the grid that bad today?
no no, it's a haircut situation.
well yes, the grid is kinda tricky too.
Oh, I see.
did they save the hair or something?
Is it a good kind of shock?
i don't know, i am just shocked. i need to find out if the hair was saved. prob not.
you got a haircut DURING class? who cut your hair?
no no bendamalina, i came to class to find that my lad had cut his hair very short this morning.
see, i am too much in a state of shock to even express myself clearly.
OOooh, I see
OOooh, I see
my fiance saved his when he chopped it off, and some people donate it... i hope your shock wears off soon!
We always donate our hair to Locks of Love... my daughter is growing hers out again
hi jera
Hey, kat... how are you?
How old is the lad? I have an ongoing battle with my daughter - she wants to cut hers, and it would break my heart

Well, at any rate the Tea Party was a huge success!
rump, it's a Jewish word, I think for gentile but not positive
yep, just checked the def -- it's kind of a derogatory term for non-Jewish
and rumple, while you're in that neighborhood, i've got 4 gi and 3 go now, including that one, what other 2 do i need?
wow...my monkey knew that word, but I didn't:)

ch1212> lo8/55's a fancy word for the business moving companies are in.
abe79> there're only two le7s

abe -- do you still have about 8 to go?
not that i'm being exact... LOL
started to wonder what I was gonna do for the rest of the night. Now I know how a puppy feels when you take away his favourite toy!
felt like days - could i be addicted?
But in that time, I was able to finish my project and can babble at will now!
oh yes! I know I have a problem with Babble goes away and all I can do is wait for it to come back up...
good for you Deutsch!
I need to go put some laundry on the line, actually, brb

Dachef - I've been unable to do anything on this site to a looooong time!! Just got on now
Hi Lupe!
jbp add the personal pronoun to your lo4/6
Hi Deutsch - I was actually trying to say hi to you earlier when it knocked me off!! LOL
my 5/18???
kallia, thanks! it's all greek to me!
me too!!!
dachef, my plus the last part of "pain in the butt"
Lupe, I thought my little zebra had done that! LOL Then I figured everyone would think I was a snob for not answering! LOL
now i need lo 4/8 between wood and only
my5/18...belonging to me + 2 vowels and a constonant
try the sometimes vowel on end of singular wood
HAHAHA! I thought my work finally found out about my obsession and "pulled the plug" *GULP!*
I am looking for the other ci 4/5, I have the one that sounds like "place"
nvm, monkeyed it
stid do you mean the one that sounds like the promised land?
cheers! good clue jbp - i thought of p"ile" first!!
oh Llupe you playing w/fire - or firewall....
was just going to say that jbp
thanks, Kallia!!
melon - both
yes jbp -- that was the one! :-)
am6/27, and not the friend?
am4/6 plus the boss!
sounds like something you'd take when you're constipated --the am 6/27 that is
how about the ma 5/12?
can somebody tell me what the 6/27 etc. stand for, I am new to the game and I don't understand what you mean when you type that
syl, go to either lickety's or angelsong's page at the bottom. all will become clearer then
what is 3/8?
idk w=y but i am not getting this am6/27
*why
words starts w/ am. is 6 letters long. worth 27 points
i know that jbp, but i cant figure out the word
oh, sorry
its all good, i actually just started 2 days ago, but i catch on quickly
am + personal pronoun, plus I guy who's a jerk
need ma and mi 56/12///
i'm lost... see note from jbp at 3:03
ty jbp got it
ad 5/12 might be said by am 6/27 (am 5/16 sing.)
np
when i write np in the wrong window, it doesn't accept it as a word. ;-)
ma and mi 5/12?
haha, its better than the other way around, when i screw up and put the word im guessing the chat log
better for whom, tho? ;-)
thanks
^_^
mi 5/12 think thousand, "will you get mixed up if i amil the answer?" (cryptic clue)
haha jbp
melon... i'm confused,
ma 5/12 is missated email.
has Babble been down or is it just me?
jbp - do you do cryptic crosswords? if not, it would be a confusing clue.
nope, don't do cryptic ones.
hi angel! yeah, it's been up and down
Hi Angel - babble was down for quite some time!
hi Angelsong- it was all of us. We loved Babble so much we broke it!
Angelsong-no its been down
Hi ya stimama!!
i'm still lost on the mi and ma 5/12 ones. weh.
the mi5/12 is still confusing me
jpb - ma 5/12 add a vowel to the end of the 4/5
oh, i got mixed up bc i can't %&$*in' type. cryptic clues some times contain an anagram of the answer , ofetn spread over more than one word. again:
I am down to 33 words (the list really helps) and going to take a break and lie down after I get the is words... anyone?
I MAIL A CONFUSED ANSWER.
ah, got it, the ma one at least
now for the mi........
coo'
wats up?
hi angelsong, please update your babble page to the new upgrade price of 14.95 its not 9.95 anymore. ty
you might be lost, but you sem to know where the enter button is.
sorry jbp - the mi 5/12 is the plural of a zit or whitehead
good one dachef
hey it was my sister!
amen!, the mi5/12 do u have any clues beside the cryptic stuff
It's not you Angel - it's been tempermental recently.
is 6 and 7s anyone?
little white dots on a newborns forehead
i don't get the skin condition blemish plural clue
i think i forgot to take my smart pill today
it starts with a g
is7 - is + hoop + past tense of went. Knock off the final vowel for the is6.
i'm done - i get no thrill from monkey tping. i would love if they added a 30 minute stat. right..i can quit anytime..... i can't quit you, babble!!!!!!
melon, you are slaying me!
Hullo my dear Stid. The is's are all three related-- start with is6/24 and add fourth vowel to the is. 7th.letter, fourth vowel again, and finish with a hump.
bye bye!
isogon
OOOOps
Yea and LOL for melon!
yup, Lupe, thats the one"!!!!!! LOL
I am going to give up my babble addition for making that STUPID mistake.
Lupe, that was just funny -- was getting it even as you were typing it in! LOL
It's like rubbing my stomach and patting my head - I can't master that either!!
Lupe, welcome to the ooops club! You are member 457
mi 5/12 and mi4/5??
and I am going to lie down with 29 words left... see you all later, I hope!
it was only a matter of time - I caught myself at least a dozen times since the change....
jbp - mi + the 12th letter + the 3rd vowel + the first vowel is the 5/12
i dont get the last is, is7/44
Hello everybody!
:-X silence from Lupe613
Hey, Lupe! Long time, no see!
change the is 7/36's last vowel to a sometimes one
Hi smithchick!
juice - knock off the "e" and add the sometimes vowel. Alternatively, just ask Lupe. Hur Hur!!!!
dl88, i would so never have gotten that
:-X me no talkie anymore - I'm on time out.
ty, got it
jbp - the 4/5 is a man would walk a mi 4/5 for a camel ( i think)
anybody be able to help me with go 5/20?
sorry Lupe, couldnt resist that one!!!
Hey, Deutsch! Haven't seen you in a while either!
DACHEF!! I feel bad as it is!! :-(
chasing, it means not jewish
go 5/20 --non jewish
nope, I have a new job starting in the fall and went to talk about it. So been a bit busy and happy!
smithie - how's the familia?
dl88 do you mean the unit of distance? i already have that
jbp, kateq, .. I'm blanking. any other way to help?
Well you still be teaching, Deutsch? The familia is doing well... How about yours, Lupe?
Smith - we've had our ups and downs - but overall, doing well.
go + sometimes vowl + possessive prononun without the initial h
smithchick, I'll be ESL coordinator with three English classes
jbp - ah, the other 4/5 think of a little insect like a flea, go down the grid
Thanks!
clue for el8/45 please
lo8/55?
Hi Shorty!
hello!
i have the insect/fighter jet one
That's about how it is with us too, Lupe. School is almost out so that will be one less stress at home (no fighting with the kids over homework for a couple of months). That sounds like a very rewarding job, Deutsch... Hey shorty!
the president has to go through the process of being voted into office, aka an el.....
el 8? *groans* Hi shorty!
shorty, when we select our leaders, its el 8/70 day
el8 - vote, ballot, etc. lo8 - numbers, etc. swop for st7???
i'm looking for the mi that is after the 5/12
Thanks, smith!
jbp - small tick.
I need 8 more words. I have the da6/30, but I cannot find the others. Could someone give me a hint or two?
tell me about it Smith! I am counting the days. My son got an in-school suspension last week!
dl, dachef, thanks, not as hard as I thought!
nothing on the lo8/55?
Unless your students are like my son, and then it would just be frustrating!
Hey, gramma!
tyvm
Or mine Deutsch! LOL
the da ones are all the same, just with i/y interchanged
lo 8/55 is what transportation companies are called now
Mine are adult music students. sorry to hear about the suspension, Lupe
Howdy, smithchick! Oh yeah, I have the plu. too
We've been there a couple of times too, Lupe. This year it's only been once, but last year he was in there about four separate times for several days at a time.
So your students are probably very motivated, huh Deutsch?
Chasing Faeries--for the go5--think of a famous Spanish painter, change the last letter to a different vowl and add a consonant
jbp, drawing a blank
jbp, Thank you
Yesterday's grid was so easy that I finished it in 7 minutes. It was a bummer.
i fear i have to quit with 21 left. monkeys aren't helping, and i should probably get some actual work done...
gramma - 2 x da6's - welsh shortened form of David, + McDonalds insignia + you in the first person + hoop. Chnge middle letter for the other and pluralise for the 7's. Does that make any sense at all?
gramma, you have something else that might ring a bell to me w/ the lo8/55?
gramma, you have something else that might ring a bell to me w/ the lo8/55?
sorry for the double, i didnt even realize i hit enter twice
Actual work is vastly overrated, jbp...Don't do it!!
Dachef, I got them by sub. i for y..thanks tho
juice - think piece of wood + this ** it + nervous twitch.
smith, motivated? some are, but I hear some think they can get by with the English they have.
I think my last comment was pulled because I tried to explain why my son got the inschool suspension...oops. I guess that really is a bad word!
if anyone has the st7 I 'll marry them.
Oh, well. I guess I was thinking of my own experiences with going to college as a married woman with a child as a opposed to as a teenager. I was definitely a much better student as an adult!
Juice, that 1 stumped me for awhile too. lo8 --I think of it ending w/ "ly". LO thinking or planning
LOL, Lupe!
*races to see if I have the st7... look of disappointment* sorry, dachef
that could be a problem dachef...
Dang, I was gonna ask for a big ol' ring, too!
married with a child, going to college? *stands back in awe*
Dachef, st--it's like the leaded writting utensil minus the P add the ST
hello mum. <hides>
hmmm... is there more than one st7 - if note I have it. I finally finished college in 2000 - by which time I had two kids.
st 7 = item used in crafts, art work--rhymes with the writing implement you might use on it
well at least if she's a babble fan I will approve...
how come I have to ask for clues to stupidly easy words like that, and yet get the my7 on my own? Thanks!!!!
It
at least you didn't post it on the board for all in babble-onia to see!
well, Dachef, perhaps it is so that you can give me a clue for the My 7
if shes a babble fan, can you imagine the fighting over the computer???
wow, cadfan! looks like we're going to have a babble wedding!
my7 - my + hoop + drunk + 2nd vowel.
ty dachef on lo8
It's a whole lot easier (at least it was to me) when you're married and have kids. I finished got two masters degrees while going through the death of a child, a miscarriage, the birth of a child, and pregnancy with my third child. I walked for second time pregnant with my second and for the third time pregnant with my third.
ty Dachef
Great clue on the my7, Dachef!
You have the tenacity of iron, smithchick. good for you!
I find it the opposite, smithchick - with a husband/family now, my motivations have really changed. MASSIVE congratulations - I'm in awe of you!
I get kind of irritated when I hear people whine about not being able to go to school with kids.
Well, the good thing about it was we were dirt poor so I had nothing else to do with my evenings after little ones went to bed than study.
good morning all!
*adds to the general adoration of smithchick* and can I have a clue for the le7/32 please?
My son's ISS stints were all due to fighting, Lupe. Little man, big fist syndrome...
Come on, give yourself credit here - those are major accomplishments on the part of you and your family!
Hi franmag!
at least it's morning here
We were shut down for so long, I've forgotten where I was!
Well, thanks all...although now I feel kind of stupid like I was bragging. Well...maybe I was!
and what's ISS?
you deserve to brag!
... and a whole new batch of players -- hello, everyone!
Hi FranMag and cyber and Atalante! ISS Is InSchool Suspension
Franmag, almost quittin' time here
wow! everything has a 3 letter acronym nowadays!
My son was a veteran last year of the ISS program several times. The ISS teacher actually said that he is sweet. Hmmm...
My son was upset that his recess was taken away due to him not doing his work in class. After trying to make amends to no avail - he called her a J/O
Good afternoon everyone!
no excuse for that Lupe
HA Milf is not a word
Lupe, uh oh! did I miss the le 7 clue?
le 7: pre-easter period + ending of a hitchcock movie
Hey, kristin! Are you home?
I've got that one ... the le7/32?
whats a j/o? (bearing in mind I probably dont want to know)
Lupe, I know it isn't funny, but I have to giggle when I picture it.
le 7 is the same as el 8/45 minus the first letter
hi smithchick! Yes...I am--home yesterday (happy mother's day to me)
I have 9 left, all 6 and 7 letter words
da 6/24 anyone?
Will you get to stay home for a while?
tx freida
His teacher said she wanted to laugh as well. By the way, the word rhymes with berk off, not the other J/O. Although both are not nice.
That's the hope, I need to go be checked out tomorrow to make sure nothing more has changed. If not, we'll hope we can ride this out at home for as long as possible.
it's like the 6/30 except change y to i
dachef, I'm guessing the first part of j/o is jerk...
thanks freida, but i don't have any of the DAs!
Manners go a long way in life even when it is unfair
ah, thats one of those americanism thingies Ive heard about isnt it? If you said that in a classroom over here the teacher would probably say "oh, thankyou"!
ata - i'm back if you need anything
and what might the 6/30 be? :)
yeah - last time I typed it though, my message was not displayed. Big brother was watching.
hi hurshy
Hey, hursh and bbnaz and tndaisy!
And freida!
Hi Hurshy!
hi smith:)
clue for da 6/30?
hiya hurshy bb and daisy!
any hints on the fl 8/60? please....
d plus aim plus io
gotta go, see you all again!
Well, he sounds like a very strong-willed child. That can be a good thing sometimes!
Bye, Deutsch! Goo luck with the new job preparation!
lol, hi smithchick
bye deutsch!
Good luck Deu!!
so long Deutsch
thanks, smith!
nite Jonboy!
I'm getting there, hurshy - after the site dying for ages and ages!
I agree BBnaz, again he was disciplined both at school and at home. Unfortunately, with ADHD impulse control is not one of his strong suits. Other kids may have said it under their breath because they anticipated the results if they said it out loud. My son hasn't mastered that control mechanism yet...
tyvm for that 6/30....I never would have got it by myself since I have no clue what that means
Understand Lupe.. I have a daughter with Down syndrome who is going to be 13yo and it is an ongoing process
However, if we can whip the battle early it will make for easier later on, no?
Hello again. Does anyone have the go 5/ 14, go7/40, go 7/ 44? THanks.
Yeah - we gotta take it one day at a time. I was relieved when he insisted he should go to confession because he committed a mortal sin (Saturday he made his first communion).
yw, someone gave it to me earlier
Well, it's good that he feels remorse.
Oh, I changed my icon...Refresh
go 7/40 is like a martini

There is only one KK in Hawaii, in Maui. people fly over there to bring them to the other islands.

hey stid, you're in the grid again
Hey stidmama! How are you?
there must be 2 i 7's then -- have is 7/36 -- clue for the other one?
The i is an is7 I think, but I don't have it. I just vaguely remember someone giving clues when I first started playing. Hey, stid!
doing fine, Jera, you?
There are 2 is7's
cybernan, it's the adjective version of the is7/36
Pretty good recovering nicely from my weekend. Got hit by a bulldozer today which was just lovely!
thanks, jera -- the one I have builds on the 6/24
for real Jera? how did that happen?
What! Hit by a bulldozer?
You have the is7/36? There is a 44 point one with just a different end letter
Good lord, Jera -- are you all right?
Could I get a clue for that is6?
A buldozer?
They are doubling the main rod in front of my house & doing away with the older section that was right in fron of my house, They have chopped it up & are extending the driveway. anyway, I have to do a bit of offroading to get to my house. I was coming in & was signalled to come a certain way & the bulldozer that I thought was parked beside me thought the guy was signalling to him... CRUNCH!
thanks again, jera -- got it!
oh dear, I know you are okay because you're talking to us, assume your car is not? what an experience!
ouch Jera, assume you're okay unless you're playing from a hospital bed
It wasn't that bad, just lost my right signal light, can't even see any body damage. Scared the Sprite hallf to death (she was sitting on the right)
no injuries, I hope!
is 6/24 is a multi-sided figure with equal sides
Everyone is fine, we were lucky
smithchick - formal def - an imaginary line connecting points on the Earth's surface where the magnetic declination is the same
HI all, hope you all had a good weekend :)
poor kid. hope she'll be okay. that sort of thing is really unnerving
sorry smithchick that was the 7
smithchick, ends like poly***, think of geometry
lo 5's: have 5/14 x 2, 5/16, 5/12 -- missing?
hi katieW
cybernan, there is one more lo5/14
and one more lo5/12
We're all pretty shellshocked, but this has been going on for over a week... no mail... the bus can't pick her up... yadda, yadda.
Oops sorry...Had to cut the 13yr. old son's talons...Gross. Hope you're okay, Jera.
Wow. A lot more words today
Do the chickens have large talons?? :)
lo 4/15 -- have the one that sounds like an italion balcony -- the other?
HUH?
Hey everyone - sorry to hear about your accident Jera but glad you're ok!
hi everyone can any help me with any of these da's i cant get any thnx
Sorry Smith :) That was from Napoleon Dynamite and it was the first thing I saw when I logged on!
lo5/14 - take the lo4/6 before it and a vowel
Oh. I'm a little slow.
sandr - da6/24 - japanese land owner & plural for the 7
:) No sweat - my humor comes out of nowhere at times
da 6: da + two pronouns for me (singular & possesive) + halo pluralize and alter spelling slightly for the other two.
think ill goggle that one dl88 cheers
then for the 6/30 change the second to last letter to the sometimes vowel and then go plural for the 7
I have that one fran, thanks
Well, I have only watched Napoleon in bits here and there. The kids, however, have watched it a billion times and would now every line.
are there three lo 5/14's?
yes, three lo 5/14s
Thanks Angela... sorry so distracted... people keep calling me!
It's funnier if you watch it all the way through, I only made it 45 minutes the first time before I gave up!
No prob Jera :)
the italian porch and two more that build off of lo4/6 that means trademark
ok -- have the homonym for italian balcony and the plural symbols -- what am I missing?
take symbol and add another vowel, it's before the plural
Those da's are seriously freaky...
is the is 7/36 between the is 6/24 and is 7/44, or is lickety's list wrong? cause i've been monkeytyping, and i'm stumped....this is my last word
bendamalina, try a different direction
nevermind, i got it!
yay bendamalina!
is7/44 anyone pleeease?
I see -- thank you fran --- yippee!!!!! c'est tout!
yay cybernan!
if you have is 6/24, but the consonant that sounds like a vowel on the end
mo do you have is 7/36?
YAY nan!
is 7/44 is the adjective form of is 6/24
Are there two lo5/12's?
if you don't have it, is 6/24 is a geometric figure that has equal angles
cybernan ...yes i do
yes smithchick
congrats, nan
oh wait, scratch that smith, only one
mo -- go in the opposite direction from that one and change the last letter to a 3 pointer

Bye, Fran.

later Fran!
*tosses quiet pills to JB* hands over mochajavachocolatte sundae
le 7/36: pre easter period + ending of a hitchcock film (one word meaning dizzy)
hey kids! This grid stinks (at least I think so)
This week is my BIG CRUNCH time to get everything ready for our inspection by the national overseer organization for medical residency programs.
yeah, it should take a shower.
thnx cybernan got it now
hi kristinc! writing from home, I hope?
lol hurshy!
*tosses the pills back, with a major sip of mjcl!!!* aaaaahhhh, that's better!
It is one of the tougher ones, kristinc

yes...stid, home Saturday night (finally)
yicky, yicky, no fun JB! you'll do it, though, I have confidence in you!
I'm with you there, kristin.
ok...i'm going to get away from the computer now
g'night all
Are you at home, yet, kristinc?
So JBs, do you have a McDreamy at your hospital?
hurshy, if you did this without a list, I might die
With this group for my support, I can make it!
Night, bendamalina!
thank goodness. I thought about you all day Sunday, hoping you were home and relaxing. Are you feeling okay except for bored?
goodnight benda
good night bendamalina!
stid, do you have a clue for the last go5 please
so -- still need that elusive (for me) my 7....
Hursh! I thought I smelled something!
Thanks Stid, yeah, I'm okay. I'm on a medicine that makes me really sleepy and dizzy (but my husband likes it because it means I'm not up puttering about)
uh-oh, maybe *i* should take a shower
go 5: a yiddish tern for the people who are not jewish...
stidmama, just wanted you to know that I did the grid yesterday, completely unlisted, with a little help from reading the chat log. My first time without the list!
my 7: begins with same first four letters as the 6
hehe - nope - just the grid :)
lol, now stidmama is the one making people go listless?
Good for you JB! :-) I needed LOTS of help from the list to finish yesterday... but managed.
There are lots of Dr. McDreamies there, but most of them are either married, or getting married. Or too busy to be married!
(not today hurshy...) ;-)
it just makes me feel like a grandma.
hursh...were you listless today?
Well, I'm married too. That's where the dreaming part comes in!
brain dead cant get it need simple clue for the last go
so sprite is JB's great-great-grandma in listlessness
You'll get there, stidmama, someday you'll finish the puzzle and realize that you never had to look at a list.
have a funny story about that yiddish go 5/20...
have a funny story about that yiddish go 5/20...
yes kristin, but i got more clues than usual today.
Ah, smithchick, so you're dreaming of being married to a doctor? Hmmmmmmmmm......
stid...when you get the my7, fill me in do tell Nan...
I'm married to a psychiatrist (really!), hmmmmm....

you're killing me hurshy...there are some crazy words here ?!?
dinner calls - bbl to finish
later Angela
Well, anyone that looks like McDreamy would suffice...
well, that's why i got more clues than usual. i think i got about 30 from clues.
bye Angela
thanks stid, couldn't see it and was monkey typing those letters
you're a wonder hurshy!
Bye Angela!
I think maybe hurshy is a construct for a collective intelligence... LOL
I wanted yesterday's to be longer! I finished it in 7 minutes with no list and no clues. No exagerration.
maybe 35. no, i'm sure sprite and atalante did a lot better than that.
Or is that exaggeration?
Yay, smith! It took me around 20 minutes, and I kinda felt lost for the rest of the day!
We had just moved in to our new house in a new development. One day on my return I found a bagel and a bottle of sweet wine on my doorstep --- a mystery! I asked the people in the house across the street from us (who had been there for two years) about it and she started laughing -- it seems that her husband had prepared a list of new people who had moved into the neighbourhood for the rabbi and beside our address. he had written go 5/20. It seems the rabbi thought that was our name and left his little sacramental gift for our first seder in our new home!
2 g 1 r
LOL smithchick!
I wish we could have averaged Saturday & Sunday's puzzles. I hate that I didn't finish Saturday's, it killed my rankings!
that is so cute, Nan! so did you have a good seder?
I thought go5/20 was spelled with an e (for the sedond vowel)
LOL, cybernan!!!
I'm serious, though. I had nothing to do for the rest of the night! Except watch Dr. McDreamy...
yeah, atalante thinks she got clues for about 4. so now you see, i'm not a wonder at all.
yes -- the wine was awfully sweet though!
me too Jera! I didn't know I would be gone most of the day Saturday or I think I wouldn't have begun it!
I've got 32 left and I'm listless, but I've probably gotten about 10 clues.
Can I have a clue for fl 8/60 please
Hey everyone! I have 15 minutes before I have to take Sarah to her International Fair. Could I please have some help with the st7?
I only have 117 left :)
funny nan
The thing you see in the mirror without the re.
So Atalante is the borg lady with the wires for hair, hurshy is part of the collective... where does Sprite fit in?
So good to see all of you, but I must go. Two cats have a 7:20pm vet appointment (one has trouble keeping his food down on the first feeding, and one is drooling and very sensitive on her mouth. 15 and 18 years old, repsectively).
mi5/12 anyone please thank you
fl8 --- what you see in the mirror - prefix
it rhymes with the lead writing stick and you use it to trace patterns. st7
hi musicmom! BGL was asking after you yesterday -- assume you compared notes about the Sunday grid already?
Sprite is the ship.
Stevie - I went to the list after I had only got 50, 117 to go isn't too bad :)
ooh, kittie problems are no fun JBs, take care
Good luck at the vet, JB.
hmmmm didn't know there was a mi5.12
later JB! hope your kitties will be okay
i think sprite is the borg queen - ata could be lore or something. i wanna be hugh.
wow...I logged in? awesome! (oh...and thx...*I* need to call the vet :p)
Thanks, I'll post an update on my profile later. BBL!
Yes stid we did. Turns out it was so easy we missed each other being here. Weren't here long enough. I was hoping she would still be around right now. Today is her day off
MM - thank you for the clue, got it first time from it :)
May I have a huge fish please? UGH I use those st7 in quilting all the time
{{musicmom}}
bye for now folks -- back at the flip :)
MM-how did your napkin rings turn out?
Great except for my own daughters'.
*splashes fish to musicmom*
Bye, cybernan:)
UNLESS sprite is Q
later nan!
later cybernan
We had to heat the oven and then turn it offand then put the rings in to bake. Letting them cook while the oven cooled
yeah that works. q, borg queen, hugh. bye cnan!
They did this step fine but forgot to take them out before bed
Yesterday morning Greg got up to make cinnamon rolls - heated the oven and completely melted the rings.
Thanks for all the fish Stid
oh no! (kinda funny though)
ooh -- that's too bad, musicmom!
Oh no, musicmom! That's terrible.
He ended up going and buying me a new cookie sheet ont he way home from church
buy only slightly funny because I can also envision a very diappointed little girl
It was funny. I smelled it from bed but just pretended I didn't know what was going on. Decided he could deal with it
We have extra rings so I'm going to let them make more. Only this time --I'll take care of the cooking part.
LOL, musicmom!
so, I thought about it. Not funny...I will not laugh at other's misfortunes
No it was funny. We laugh about this kind of thing in this house
you ignoring it...that's funny
The pretending to be asleep part...
YEP that ignorring it was VERY FUNNY!!! I'm usually the mess cleaner here.
okay -- am still *perpetually?* puzzled by the my 7... I do have the first four letters, does the 7 have to do with muscles also?
the end rhymes with what kids pass to each other in class
Are there lo 7 words?
here here...I'm stuck on it too and didn't get the earlier clues
the last three letters sound like o**meal only spelled differently stid
no lo7's
I *SWEAR* I typed that in three times!!!!! grrrr stupiddumb figners.
join the club kristinc
Is there more than one lo6?
32 left. headed out to the International Fair. I will definitely be back later to finish. 32 more words to go. The rest of you finish so you can help me when I get back.
2 lo6
TY, hurshy

later musicmom!
Does anyone have the FE5/18 pelase?

yeh please stid
minski, of or relating to CATS!
myice
well, the first four letters are JUST like the my 6, then end with the last three letters of creos*** a sticky tarlike thing they used to use on wood
need easier?
oops sorry wrong place again
Bye musicmom
still working on the 6 too but I'll try
my + wolf-like creature, minus c and substitute s for y :)
my 6 has to do with muscles, goes along with that word actin...

Got it. Who knew that was a word? Not me.
which speaking your language, me or stid?
um, what language?
stid...I can do medical usually, thanks for the help from everyone though
no time to babble today. :( but its sunny outside. :)
See you all tomorrow.
Hola, boreetos!

Ad***, boreetos!
boreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetos

ah boreetos, enjoy being outside -- I got a lot done earlier before it got hot. :-)
speaking of outside, need to check the laundry brb
hi everyone !! i have 109 left - who wants to race?
bye Stid
Hey, helen. I'd race you but even though I've only got 28 left, you'd probably beat me. I'm to the stumped stage.
lol smith - nope, i'm at the stumped stage :)
Hi Helen, Sorry I'm having a thick night and it is already 11.30 here so I'm probably going to give up before fireworks :(
HI everyone!! clues please for the ce7/32
hi helen! i have 13 left, i'll race you! LOL
Maybe we can pool our clues and get you done, katie.
I love it when I can hang laundry outside to dry...
i wish the pictures were bigger (-must remember to buy magnifying glass)
evening all! i'm just about to start, have a half hour before i do the little one's bath
Hey, peri!
hiya stid !! LOL - ready, set, go!
I love it when someone else hangs my laundry out to dry!
Hi, featherbee!
hi smithchick!
Helen if you click on the person you can see the icons bigger on their profile if that's what you meant
periwinkle : the only thing I can think is that it is like a statistics term: "one hundredeth" like a perc***...
go featherbee go! LOL
lol, one down, 161 to go....
:-) featherbee is GOOD!
katie- no, i already know that - they're still small - i put up antoines as a tribute to the hurricane rebuilders, but it's still so hard to see :(
stidmama, thanks, I tried it without the e on the end and it wasn't accepted, but your clue helped
stidmama, thanks, I tried it without the e on the end and it wasn't accepted, but your clue helped
HA

wait hurshy - i have some laundry for you too :)
108
poor hurshy!
Hi peri
hmm....
does anyone have a clue as to what et4/5 is
helen, even when you go in they are different sizes. Don't take this the wrong way but Hurshy's is bigger than yours :)
Hey scatty, I am getting a late start, have 130 left to find, work sure does interfere with my babbling :)
Night Hurshy
peri how many left, i have 39 to go
Bye, hursh
katie ! why is that?? another reason to be jealous of the hurshmeister
iwas going to bed at ten thirty and made the mistake of having a quick look at babble
i have fisher price sheep doing a tap dance on the table beside me!
i have fisher price sheep doing a tap dance on the table beside me!
hiya scatty - btw what exactly is a 'quick' look?
sorry bout the double
That's definately one for Dr God, it took me ages to change mine today - another good use of works time :)
that sounds like a nice entertainment for an evening! LOL
help I have none of the DA words
about four hours helen
ok, now they're dancing on the china cabinet...not quite as cute
Never risk a quick look if there's even a question. That's what I've discovered!
it has to do with the size of the original image you upload, helen and katie...
the da words are all the same with minor variations...
Stidmama, you are now our official computer genius :)
yeah katie - i am hanging on by my last fingernail to the puter dark ages - i don't know most of this stuff - stid was kind enough to help me (walk me step-by-step) on how to set up a folder for my icons, that makes it alot easier for me :)
stidmama, may I please have some sort of clue then, I cannot see any of the DA words
LOL katie - that's just what i was saying -lol
the first da 6/24 is d + what you do before you shoot + o sole ***"
peri all the da's have the same first four letters, stid has two of the letters in her name
peri, I just came back on and saw your plea for help. d+ ready....***....fire+2 vowels
lol scatty - 4 hours
then just plural that. for the other set, change out a vowel for the sometimes vowel
well it will be by the time i finish tonight
si?? help, please.
*blush* not really an expert, more like someone who knows enough to be dangerous!
*waits patiently for gramma's clue*
stidmama, scatty and gramma, thanks so much, never heard of those words
What? I'm sorry. Did you ask me for a clue? I just got here.
no, waiting for the si you asked for! LOL
back from getting some clothes in the washer and feeding my son
that was quick, Fran!
Ooooh......I didn't want to ignore you.
oh stid - too shy - you are lightyears beyond me, an expert in my book
at 130 now, weeee!
go feather!
oh-oh you are going too fast feather - 97 here
"pacing the floor, biting my nails, looking at the clock..."
zzzzzzzzzzoom! feather's fast!
don't worry, bath time is at 7, you'll have a half hour to catch back up if i lap you
poor gramma, too bad no one knows that si... (hint hint)
stid, i just made him a peanut butter sandwich and chocolate milk
Okay, now I am having trouble with the Di words, cannot see even one of them, help please
si 5/14, ends like opposite of boy without the r
peri, do you have the si?
aha! a runic letter! no wonder I didn't think of it...
ty Fran...
I'm missing tons of y's. I've only got two. yo4/8 and yo4/6. Help!
of course I just found 2 of the di words, one rhymes with mitts and the other is used in gambling, still need help with the others please
TY, Fran!
one of the di is what you do in a garden before you plant...
the other is I think Latin for "he speaks"
sitdmama, thanks just found that one
FranMag, ty
yw gramma & smithchick
that last would be an anagram of what you do in Januray after all the holiday parties...
stid, nurse a hangover?
lol fran
stidmama, don't see that last di word
no Fran, LOL -- to take off the weight!
actually, since becoming a mom, i don't party that hard anymore
just teasing you stidmama
smithchick, pluralize both of your Yos
Y'all probably already covered this, but "milf" ought to be a word.
thanks stidmama, got it, the lasts di
I agree Scouts :)
Thanks, Erda!
Especially the day after Mother's day "_
:-) Fran, I am a very ti*** person myself... I have only been in a bar twice and overdid alcohol once... that was enough! LOL
Enable is very picky about what acronyms it allows...
franmag - where is roy's?
I think if elfin is a word that elfid should be also...
Erda are you new? I don't think we've met...
Someday it'll give us mamas our due.
Roy's started in Hawaii, they are now in Guam and in the mainland, not sure, but probably some in CA and NY
I think if ad5/12 is allowed, dios should be valid
Chef Roy Yamaguchi's businesses
agreed, Jera! there have been some good Spanish words the last few days that didn't count...
they are in Japan also i think
I looked up cero, and it had a meaning in English
fran - banging myself on the head now - i've been to roys twice -there's one here!! excellent !! stuffed myself both times -- everything so fresh!! it's a great place
The inconsistency annoys me sometimes.
lol...milf would be funny if it was allowed
Done-Dee-dun-dum!! Done
I hadn't entered ad***, as di** wasn't allowed-
in my single days in Guam, Roy's was a hangout for me and work friends
YAY gramma!
*snort* I tried milf.
yay gramma!
YAY me!!
you lived in guam! cool?
Wow, there's a Roy's in Chicago?
Hey, I've been to Guam! My sister just moved from there in Nov. We only really went to eat at the Pirate's Cove.
actually helen, i was born and raised in Guam
YAY, Gramma!!!
yes a roys in chicago on state & not sure of the cross street, north of ohio, if you know where that is
wow hitting paydirt with the Ls
fran, are you a child of the military? child
I'd love to help. Just don't ask me for anything I monkey typed or can't explain. Oh wait...that's just about the whole d*** grid.
gramma, the ti 5 that isn't "shy"?
Ti*** as a mouse
Sorry. That isn't shy..DOH!
ok, stopping at 97, be back in roughly a half hour!
sorry guys, not ignoring anyone, had to get the door
later featherbere!
ok feather - i must attend to dogs see ya back here - 82
umm.. bee! :-)
bbl
see, you kept ahead of me!
helen, i was not military, my father taught at the Univerity
stidmama, it reminds me of a very fine cut of beef....a filet mi****. Switch the 1st letter and drop the 3rd consonant
Smithchick, very familiar with Jeff's, i lived in the hills above where Jeff's was
ty gramma! that was a clever clue!
YW
ty ....
Too many words that apply to me aren't in the dictionary! Milf, cigs... at least there's wi4/8
*just realized Stid was "in the grid"*
winos
dangit! sorry!
lol scoutsmom
*twinkle twinkle little stid* *shows up twice within the grid* :-)
What is this "milf" of which you speak?
*waits for Scouts to tell gramma...*
lol stid:)
lol. mother in law I'd like to have sex with =)
Pardon me?
I say ents should be a word
cents
Or just "mom I'd like to..." YOU KNOW.
it is what a man refers to someones mother-in-law, that they would like to have sex it
the F is a bad word gramma!
I can't get in trouble with a fellow Vermonter :)
hi daisy! down to 4...
Well, it's also the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, but that's only becuse I'm being pedantic
and here's to you Mrs. Robinson, Jesus knows......
good for u!
Hey Daisy - didn't see you there :)
np Angela...sure you're hard at work!
NO, NO! Scout's only two! I'm no one's mother in law!
SamnthaJoy, didn't I see you finishi
Hi, has there been a clue for IS7/36?
oops..bad finger- mind connection...that milf thing got me
it's the same base as is 6/24, with a different vowel ending than is 7/44
brb folks, baby's up, have to feed her lunch
Gramma, that's because I got here early this morning and finished then
Good girl!
I just popped back in to see if I could give clues to any who needed them
Ridiculous sense of community, neh?
Thanks, SamanthaJoy - hadn't thought to monkey type that!
I don't have is 6/24 either:(
Well you see the level the questions have sunk to.
Daisy - in my sweats, finished dinner...just playing around with the puzzle with no real intent to finish :) A good night in my book.
IS7/36 - IS + round vowel + left. For the IS6, drop the final vowel.
Oh, I think asking about the ridiculously-obscure-unless-you're-a- scientist 6, 7, and 8s are a pretty high level
I won't finish today either...got interrupted by a boss/s/o that won't stay gone! lol
I hate when they sneak up on you with that work stuff... :)
Had a phone call...
he just snuk up period...:)
SamanthaJoy, the only way to make a word your own, is to use it. Your assignment for tomorrow, is to use those words in conversation.
I'm spending time in between clues harrassing my rooster by "cock-a-doodl-doo"ing him from an upstairs window. The poor guy is going crazy trying to protect his "flock" of three hens from an unseen menace
Gramma, it's been more than a week since I have even *seen* another human being. I cannot find a way to use is 7/44 in conversation with my rooster.
BRB. Jack or Jim ...1 of them is calling. I better go check.
SamanthaJoy - ahem, just a suggestion, bou may need to get out a bit more....
hi
LOL I live in a bit of a rural area
That's ok, SamanthaJoy. But tormenting the domesticated barnyard denizens may be indicative of a need for mental assistance. Or at least a good stiff shot or three....
*breaks out the rum*
Got to go...Ball game. 21 left.
But he's so *cute* when he's all stalky and over protective!!
okay, I had to sign off for 5 hours, but I"m back and have 62 words to go - UGH
Reminds me of other males I know. lol hand over the bottle....
hmmm...rum
*Spiced* rum.
*shares bottle freely*
hi nrkii. as soon as I gave up listlessness today the grid went faster (though not much easier...)
down to three...
69 words here
Does anyone have the DA words?
*burp* s'good rum, S'manta!
go daisy go!
Minski, have you ever read "Shogun"?
DA6/24 - "A feudal lord of Japan who was a large landowner." pl. and alt. spellings.
lol this has been such a day...I'll concede defeat gracefully....but not yet
a long, long time ago
can anyone help with the st7/32 cannot seem to find it Thanks
I'm just annoyed because I just found two ej words that I had completely missed earlier
feudal.lord.of.japan.
ok i guess im not going to complete this grid
st7/32 is what you use to paint decorations on walls
Hmmmmm. Do you remember what "da" words the Japanese lords weere called? Because two alternate spellings of that word, and the plurals, are the DAs
SoyT, por que no?
i just got started and im not even getting the clues haha
So easy once you gave me the clue Minski Thanks!!!
samantha, how many letters are the das?
me neither soy, i've only got 28 words so far
There are two da sixes and two DA sevens
oh no
ot
are all 4 da words similar?
Minski - if you google "feudal lord of japan" you will find it and the plural :)
Yes, it's two alternate spellings of one word, and their plurals
argh. it's a tough grid today Soy, ask for clues and use the list unless you are dedicated to listlessnes...
I found those 2. I am wondering about the other 2.
Angela is offering more instructive clues than I am :D
use the list soy...use the list :)
angela, thanks!
it is! and long words are definitely not my forte... but ill do my best, thanks :)
Oh, minski, they're just alternate spellings of the first two. Use your imagination
got em all. thanks.
kristin, you just made me giggle
Not really samantha, but thanks for the vote of confidence :)
SJ...do what I can...I hate this grid and highly recommend the list today
samantha, your clues were spot on
Stid, I tried to do this unlisted but broke down an hour ago. I'm now down to 4 with a crick in my neck, so I'm stopping for supper, and if when I return I still boggle I hope you'll be there for me
kristinc! strong words... maybe need a break?
I just kept skipping the part where I put another vowel into the third spot
i have fireworks
YEAY Scatty :)
hi hetty! have you got some overcast up there now, too? It never got as warm here as they promised (just as well...)
whoo hoo scatty!
YAY scatty!
Goooo Scatty!
Scatty rocks the casbah!!!!

go 5/20 Used as a disparaging term for one who is not a Jew.
PMS: How Odd Of God / To Choose the Jews / Not Strange, Not Odd / GOxxx/ Annoy 'im.
st 5/18, A cheap cigar, spelled differently
I've been working the grids off and on for a little while and am slooooowly starting to "see" familiar words more readily, but the unusual ones escape me.

JeeWhiz - it's the correct term for a freckle. LOL.
hmmmm....I guess I will have to call my own that in the future...or maybe not.
Is there an a7?
LOL, JeeWhiz!
no f7

Hi wassup
jeewhiz...one is a vote (presidential el******) and the other would be if you were jumping out of your plane and ej****** seat

Soy, I believe it's a couple of bears from Jellystone
Oh thanks...I had the e8, thought maybe it was a 7 that smithchick was missing.
just got out the list. this one's hopeless. i've got 98 to go. Something tells me I won't be finishing this one... :)
thats ok then, as long as someone found it useful
Nope. Sorry about that scatty. But kristin appreciated it:)
ive got those :P
You can do it, wassup. We'll help.
yo 5/18 plural of BooBoo's pal
oh... yo5/20 then
there's lots of us with chucks left wassup, no worries...you can do it!
Are all the y's yo's?
Does anyone have the go7's? Thanks...
no
er, yes
yo 5/20 follows the bear pattern, just add enough points on the end
while i was writing them out i was thinking that someone was going to beat me to it as i' such a slow typist
wassup - don't give up so easily! Lots of help is at hand if you just let us know what kind of clues suit you best, other than posted the words themselves!
you can rhyme the yo5 with the lo5.
well good evening all
thanks guys. :) I liked the jellystone clue...
hi cathy

Then change the last letter to the 2nd consonant for the other go7
Those are for the go7's, btw
oh, man smithchick, yours is so much simpler!!!! thanks!
i'm stumped on the "my"s
go 7/40 go + where pakastan(cant spll tat) is country, and take the n out of the word
Got it from someone earlier:)
gonna work with the list for awhile and see where I get.
Did I read earlier in the log that there are two ti5's?
Thanks for the go's smithchick!
mt + vowel + last no4, change the n for a wiggly letter
Sheeeww...thanks for all the hard work on those go7 words...
YW
i mean my, i'm losing it
whats go5/20 then?
I have all the other go's --just not the go5/20
something something from patago***
go + sometimes vowel + instant message
ive got that one...
go 5 same as the four above it, ( first three leters) then two vowels
oh, oops!
go5....rhymes with plaything + Instant Messaging abbreviation
whoa
Does anyone know if there are two ti5's?
thanks smithchick, that was a tough one
Used as a disparaging term for one who is not a Jew.
JeeWhiz -- thanks big time -- great clue
Never mind, just found it.
yes there are two ti5s
no that was the go 5/14, sorry, right, i'm off to bed, can't see straight anymore, good luck everyone, nighty night

Night scatty! Thanks for the help!

Bye, cathy!
el 5/10? I'm going blind(er) here...
I'm missing two y's. I've got 5 yo's.
soy, 5 of them are bear related
goodnight cathy
the other ti5/14 is the converse of Napoleon Dynamite's favorite animal.
Sleep well, Cathy
Featherbee - I got told off at the flip for saying the Yiddish word was a 'disparaging' term. Apparently, it's not.
sigon
Got it, but thanks melon:)
i copied the definition they gave!!
This game is too addictive. I should be working on a final paper right now, but instead I'm babbling... How is the slang cl 4 word for a woman's...womanly area...not a valid word?
soy, the first five yo's have the same first four letters if that helps
i have no clue what it means, that's why i copied...oh well!
in Hebrew, it's plural for "nations" - in Yiddish, it's lest than polite.
There's another slang c word that is on sometimes.
There is
So why should this cl not be on?
hmmmm
Got the dang y's finally.
nm...I found it
Yiddish is kind of a "mongrel" language, based on Hebrew, tho thought of as slang
the first five yo's start with the bear
Who knows...
going going gone
Dr_God uses an online dictionary - it is funny because the online dictionary sometimes has abbreviations and such on it that Dr_God allows. *shrug*
30 left...
go tndaisy!
wrong, wrong, wrong, libarebel. Yiddish is an offshoot of Middle High German, it's structure is largely Germanic, with a German, Hebrew, & Slavic vocabulary, written in Hebrew characters. It is no more mongrel than English which is a mishmosh of Germanic & Romance influences.

night scatty
yes, dinoshadow: phat was accepted but mosh was not-inconsistent
sorry to go on about this, we have a Yiddish linguist in the family.
Got 7 left. Pesky l's mostly. and an a, f and two s's.
YAY FIREWORKS
Blame the dictionary
YAY, Soy!!!
did you get the cat-based f?
There is no rhyme or reason!
dictionary.com has it, and that's what we're linked to when we click the ? next to a word.
Yep, got that one. Is that the only fe?
I'm protesting! =P
I was surprised the jewish g word was there, myself.
Kept wanting to do that one with a t in the middle.
yay soy!!!!
don't know why a previous post posted twice( ????? )
Thanks, melonheadjujube, I was told that explanation by my college roommate many moons ago- a Jewish lady, no less!
Oh blimey! I didn't intend to start an argument about the differences between Jewish and Yiddish terms!
it was the only fe, yeah
yes...only fe
haha took some work... but i got there!
good going Jac! :)
Thanks a lot, Jac!
Mind you, it might explain why the person who told me I was wrong at the flip did so, as I think it's a person in Israel who is not a native of that country.
Belated congrats, Soy
yr welcome, libarebel. In America, 2nd generation was embarassed by parents speaking the "mamloshen" (mama's language) Hebrew was for Bible & prayer, Yiddish for everyday. Sephardic Jews from Spain developed Ladino, a Spanish/Jewish language.
Smithchick? What have I done?
i'm off to bed, night all!
I don't know!
I know that in Yiddish I'm known as a shiksa; does sound really German...
night feather
The area of russia my husband was from used Yiddish a lot, too. His mom is amazed at how much it is in the american english language
NIght, featherbee!
Smithchick! ROFLOL. You silly sausage!
I am total shiksa as well! Hello, my sister!

So, thanks for the enlightenment! :)

airplane + opp. of off.

hi everyone. da7/36?
je5/20 - a game token or counter.
HI, Eva...
Jac...I had no idea that is what it meant, thanks...I always learn something playing this game!
Old MAD magazines are full of Yiddish. Thework of Alan Sherman, the song parodist, is a treasure trove too. who knows, maybe "mishegoss" will show up as a word one day. gotta get kids to bed. stilll stumped by MYs, except for one.
Hi Eva & Merp. Those big da's are buggers to find. They all relate to variant spellings of Japanese feudal lords.
Galina was VERY surprised when I knew what "mensch" was, much less how to say it and what the origin was.
Hi eva btw
Uhhhh, Japanese feudal lords? Help!
OK, back to school work 0 bleagh. This should have been done a week ago.
I have the da6/30 & related 7/44 from the feudal lords. is the da7/36 from the same definition?
Okay, I've got to have help on these dang l's. I've got 7 le's, 9 li's and 14 lo's. Which second letters am I missing?
I feel your pain, dino
I love that the words sound like what they mean, like shmo and schlemiel (sp?)
I'm on my way out. Maybe I'll be back at the flip if I'm still up. I hope I won't be!
eva...with those, change the sometime vowel to the third vowel and you'll have the other 2
You just substitute vowel and sometime vowel, Eva
Just answered my own question-yes. alt spellings.
Bye, leigh!
daimio
woops-there I go again!
Bye bye
a little inadvertant gift to those who didn't have it already(-:
merry christmas, happy holidays to us Eva :)
Melonhead (How weird you should have that name, as it's a nickname long ago given to a lad in our village) - my eldest cousin used to get MAD mag back in the 60s. Me, him and my other cousins used to put on sketches from it for the family on high days and holidays. Even when my one uncle was dying from cancer in a hospice, he still recounted one of the sketches I starred in to me, and still giggled about it. It was a 'before and after' ad for wrinkle cream in the mag. I set my face ready in the mirror, one side smooth and one side all screwed up(I was about 6 or 7 at the time)
Today is the first day so far that I've not inadvertently given a gift since the format changed!
it must be a holiday somewhere
darn tootin' eva
Then I went into a wardrobe and kept the expression set in stone until one of my cousins 'announced' me and opened the door. And then I burst out of it with the before and after face still set. My uncle kept us all awake that night with sudden uncontrolled fits of the giggles over it!
does anyone have a clue for ce7/32
st5,16?
gi7/40?
I really liked Mad Mag back in the early 50's-had no idea it had Yiddish; I thought that the words were hilarious, however; we kids used to call each other shmucks...
gi7,40 is the plural of gi6,27
mklein-think percentages and hundredths
okay then, how about gi6/27.....
the 2nd yo 5/18...I thought I had them all! grr
gi 6/27... a drink made with gin
the mad magazine game was the only game to play in my family growing up
st5/16?
gi6/27 and it 7/40 plural are a boring tool.
I just got the st5/16, means to hold back, impede. uses the sometimes vowell
thanks susan!
found it....
oh thanks harp! I needed that one too
tndaisy-plural of yo4/8
lol ty Eva...saw it just b4 you replied. I'd better have fish for supper!
Daisy - the found the plural Beatles' mate, the Maharishi Yo** then? Good!
TY, harp!
those slippery plurals...always hiding under the seaweed
25 left...didnt think I'd get this far
the two is7's?
Fish is brain food. That's why it figures so strongly in Babble grids, as do fish-eating birds. Not sure why Babble players slap themselves and each other with frozen and unfrozen fish.... probably best not to think too much about that.;-)
dang one left
is+hoop+go 4/4
Still not seeing it Eva, but thanks for trying.I know I'll get the fish on this one ce7/32
Four! Four! 5's and 6's!
and once you have that one, change the final letter to the sometimes vowel
is7's - imaginary magnetic lines connecting points of the Earth.
What are you missing, almost?
mklein-the word for a penny +the little ceramic squares on the bathroom flor
Eva, the ce7 ends in ti4/4
Actually, not quite correct. but add the sometimes vowel to the end of the 2nd one.
jac-we've had this one before and i keep forgetting it
mi5,12
jeewhiz-I've got the ce7-trying to give it to mklein(-:
Sorry, clued for wrong person...
It makes me think of the word for an army without the middle syllable of it.
Got it! Thanks guys - Iknew it was something fishy.
Eva - is + round vowel + g/4 word for 'missing' or 'absent'.
lordy are there really162???
Add the sometimes vowel to the end of the next one instead of the 3rd vowel.
thanks Jac...true, no such thing as go 4/4 huh?
Ohyes, keirlex - and some lovely words they are, too.
Not sure about that, Kristinic, because I'll be go4/6 for a good few hours soon.
IYiddish fans: I walked into work one morning, years bsck and my boss asked me "what's w/ the schmata? " I astounded her by responding "What you don't like my bandans?"
scary...this is only my 2nd game -)
bandana...
you can do it kierlex!
wow, 162 words are quite a task; let's hope tomorrow will be considerably less! :)
Kierlex - Don't fear anything other than becoming addicted.
well, i only have 2 hours and in that time i have to put kids to bed and wash dishes and ...
am addicted to icq trivia, this seems relatively calm but much harder
162 words is a pussycat of a grid! If you see a 300+ or even a 400-word grid, have no fear! You can get at least half of the words almost faster than you can type them in or write them down... then it's just a normal grid after that. It's the titchy 40-something grids you need fear... they are tricky b*ggers!
I never heard of fe*** the cat
thanks guys! Got the i 7's.
yeah for big grids (at least for the moment)!
So if I confused you eva, glad you got them
Okay please don't make me use the list for my last 4! HELP!
Well done, Eva. What do you and Merp need to find now?
Jacula - you got a point there; did you say 400? I may need to hire a staff to help out when that occurs
what letters smithy?
Smithchick - you will have to be more specific. Which 4 do you need?
you were very clear-I went off on my own for a while to look for google definitions and got a spelling that didn't work-came back and saw your post and got it right awat.
Jacula - is titchy a real word? I like it
I'm missing an a 5 or 6. I've got ad5/12 x2, ad6/24, am5/14, am6/24, am5/16, am6/27.
ad 5/14 is missing then
are some of these really words? i am just entering things that sound wordish and they work!
Also an s5 or s6...Got si5/14, st6/21, st5/10 x 3, st5/16, and st5/18.
funny, i'm reading through the last few posts and i see someone wrote fe*** the cat. my kids are watching that exact cartoon right now. what are the chances? :)
Thanks, krisitn...I'll start hunting.
Libaret - titchy means 'small' or 'little' like wot I am!
and if you have the ad 6/24 then you have the plural and just need the singular
wassup- was I; coincidence... funny
that's really funny liba
Thanks, Jacula; wee like me? lol
I misstyped. I've got the ad5/14. one. Is there only one ad5/14?
oh, yep, only one...still missing an a then?
Yes. Still missing an a. Drat.
wassup- I wonder if Fe*** the Cat got any vibes?
and it's a 5 or 6, cuz I checked all mine
i spend more time trying to decipher your clues, lol
it's not an accident that "felicity" (happiness) has the same root as the latin for cat :)
he's laughing in his grave, wherever they bury cartoon cats. (my kids are in a trance.)
Yep, I'm missing two 5's and two 6's. An a, s, and two l's. One from each l.
Well, howdy, hurshy!
yes, thats all the a 5 and 6s I have. Do you want me to list them?
oh good, hurshy can save us then ;)
I'm making a valiant effort to avoid the list, hursh. With kristin's help.
Yes, please, kristin.
am about to throw in the white towel - got 83 out of 162 (as a newbie - is 50% considered good?)
whispers *I sold out and got the list w/ about 30 to go hurshy
I seem particularly fond of commas and exclamation points, don't I?
lol, he maybe woke up and said "wassup?"
15 left
Very good, bgood!
okay, I have ad 5/12 ad 5/12 ad 5/14 ad 6/24 (for the 5s and 6s)
lol smithchick & liba
le7/36?
The only time I can go listless is when hubby is gone. So for two weeks at a time, I try desperately to go without it.
thanks smithchick
I wuvs kittycats!

Got all of those, kristin.
Good night to you all! I surrender with 69 left. Good hunting to you!
well done Janiece, see you later!
night janiece
I think I may be allergic to kittycats. My sister has a couple and everytime I'm at her house, my eyes itch and burn. My son has the same problem. Way to go, janiece:)
Smithchick - I've just been away nattering to my son an then I come back and find your listless and hubby away post. I took it totally wrong way on first reading! ROFLOL. Sorry.
It's an am6/27 that I don't have.
smith? whadaya think?
LOL, Jacula!
L7/36 - past tense of loan + 1st 3 letters of large jungle cat + round vowel.
Thanks, kristin...better get to looking.
am6/27 NaNH2.
good...glad you got it then one is a plural (spanish word) and the other is based of the am4/6 above it am4/6+vowel+2 point letter
ok i give up.. what's the mi5,12?
That too, Jacula!
smithchick - maybe it is 1st 3 letters of French friend + 1st 3 letter of nick name for Richard.
mi 5/12 ends the same as the ci 5/12
TY, TY!
mi + stick letter + vowel, vowel
thanks dianne!
mi5 is milk spots that babies sometimes display. That's my definitiion, haven't looked up dictionary definition. mall white spots.
hooray fireworks.. thx
YAY, almost!!!!
yeah AAG!
Okay, I hope I'm not getting on anybody's nerves...
st7/32?
lol jacula.
what else do you need smith?
Eva - you are wellcome - what else do you need?
I'm missing an s and two l's. One from each position. One 5 and two 6's.
the st7/32 dianne

Jacula-got am6/27 -thanks
YAY, Kristin!!!! WTG!
congrats kristin!!!
How you've managed to finish with me bugging you for clues is beyond me!
st7/32 - think little plastic "cut out" that you draw circle, triangles or letters with.
I've got si5, st6, st5/10 x3, st5/16, st5/18
thanks again dianne-should have seen that one myself.
felid
Eva - actually that one took me a long time to "see" as well.
jeez-I should go to slseep before I do any more damage!
hints for the j word, not the air mobile
add the opp of off to the air mobile
smithchick, there is another st 5/10
okay-27 left, but I'm going to pack it in and get some sleep. Thanks for all the help everyone, and see you tomorrow.
Bless you, nrkii...
Night, Eva
smithchick - you are missing two so4/4.
ohkay... thanks for the j hint
maybe i am inadvertenly doing this in the wrong language
'Bye to anyone that'sa gone since I came back from talking to my son.
Oh my gosh! It was one of those quintessential Babble words! Thanks, guys. Down to the two pesky l's...6's.
How's the son doing?
i'm done for awhile too. night all
Who needs clues apart frp, Kier who is either doing the grid in Welsh or German. Don't worry! I will help! LOL.
Night, wassup!
yes, welsh, i think thats it!
well, have to go put daughter in bed... maye brb
smith, there are 2 le 6
Smithchick - the son's doing his final exams at Uni but still has no idea what might come next.;-/
1 li 6
and 2 lo 6
I've got one... le6/18 and lo6/18.. I'll hunt the other le6 and lo6
li6 - plural of the li5 before it. If someon has no boundaries, they have no li****.
I just kept going to school and then still ended up a housewife.
lo 6 is same as other lo 6, but change letter 3
Got the li6/21.
smithchick - there is "Outer Li6", le6/18 plural of le5/10 and le6/21 which are you missing?
so sorry! Major computer hiccup but I'm back now, how we doing smith?
Never would have gotten that lo6! Thanks nr!
le 6/21 is having to do with the season before easter
I'm down to one le6, kristin!
Yay, fireworks!
add the word that you'd put before cube or cream, but drop the last vowel
le6/18 - slow tempos in music.
yay smithchick!
one last s 5 that is eluding me
I don't know that it really counts as being listless when you make all the people who are done or used the list tell you what you're missing:) Thanks all!
hooray smithchick!
nope...still counts, well done!
Wel done, Smithchick!
si 5/14?
onyx, is it si 5/14 you're missing?
onyx - are you missing wthe shorthand that a secretary uses?
got that one but thanks
si 5/14...like a candlite vi*** (change the first letter)
St vowel consonant vowel, then st other vowel same consonant same vowel
Do you have four st5/10's?
si5/14 - seal (not the flapping flippers kinds!) on a letter.
onyx, any sense of which one you're missing?
There is also an st5/16 and st5/18. Which do you need?
smithchiick, i think thats the one but i don't get the clue
Good eveing, any clues for the is6?
st 5/16 is to stump, to confuse completely
st 5/18 is cigar
si + fish breathing organ minus last letter.
One is like fashion sense, but with a vowel instead of the sometimes vowel, the other is the same except the first vowel.
Hey, Rish how is it going?
Hi, Marc
hi marc- is6 is+hoop letter+go 4/6 without the last letter (went away)
Marc - do you have the is7's? If so drop the last letter for the 6.
Hello Marc. The is word you seek is a polygon with equal angles.
is 6 = I+ very much + not here
minus the last e
did that help at all, onyx?
go 4/6...at the beginning of the go's...
thanks for all the good clues but i am thick tonight
if you need the is7s, you'll add a vowel for one and the sometimes vowel for another
but you can add that back for one of the 7s
no prob onyx, we just need to figure out which one you are missing
let us know which s5's you have
st + second vowel + stick consonant + second vowel. st + third vowel + stick consonant + second vowel.
Do you need the go4/6 daisy? Kelly Clarkson sang about it.
sony
tndaisy - some one who has left the building is go4/6.
Since you been ....
yes I need that one but I'm not familiar with this singer
Diasy - first go4/6 is the opposite of 'here' or 'present'. It means 'absent' or 'buggered off'.
omg...I thought I tried that!
LOL
SmithChick - you do realise I'm hearing that song in my head now?
thanks guys...I have 10 left...and they seem endless
Marc, did that work on the IS words?
You're Welcome, Jacula! I specialize in putting song's in people's heads. Just ask any of my five sisters. They all hate me for it!
Since you've been go**! Since you've been go**, I can't make it!' etc. LOL.
A little overpunctuation, there.
I do like to punctuate!!
tndaisy, in the words of jerry maguire (well, to paraphrase), help us help you... help US help YOU
I can breathe for the first time... I'm so movin' on, yeah, yeah...
Smithchick - that is my speciality too, though I tend to do it more to total strangers. LOL. So easy!
wachaneed?
LOL, nrkii!!
Cheap laughs and all!
eh, it's late, I'll take the cheap laughs
ok, i was gonna give up, si5 & st5x6argh what am i missing?
Hi, Smithchick and thanks all I got the is6 and 7 now looking for the is7/44?
The most fun is when it's some really obscure, stupid song.
marc, change last letter
okay guys...seems like ya'll got it under control and I'm fading fast. Think I'll call it a night and see you tomorrow Go Onyx go!
What was the punctuation joke about?
nothing!!!!
It's another st5 onyx...Night kristin!!!Thank you for all of your help!
No joke! Really! I wasn't joking at all!!!
onyx, here are the st's...
st 5/10, sounds like metal
nrkii, I don't think changing the last letter works for the is7/44.
what? only an hour left? d'oh! I thought I'd have 3 1/2 =(
Marc - is 7/44 is is7/36 with the last (2nd in the vowel list) vowel replaced by the ometimes vowel that has a currly bottom.
st 5/10, short hand
that was so not a word.... was it finally got it thanks all
onyx, you done?
It does Marc. One is a vowel and one is the sometimes vowel
Right, looking the in the wrong direction. Hey, Rish, I know you are out there, how many to go?
yeah i got it, can't believe i did not see that last word thanks again every one
marc, you have to take the word in a different direction to make it work
yay onyx!
What was the punctuation thing about?
I believe it was about overuse of !!!!!!
I was merely expressing my love of punctuation, that's all.
In one of my posts, there was an apostrophe where there shouldn't have been one. There were several apostrophe's and exclamations.
ha, I didn't even notice the song's
How are you doing, jamsicle?
Well, since I love punctuation, I notice these little things!
7 left...
Go daisy go!!
I've not spent much time on the puzzle... I only have 62 words. but it's my 3rd puzzle, so it's a blast =)
What do you need? My last 7 almost kicked my tush!
tndaisy, any assist needed to the finish line ... or shall we all just watch and admire?
Well, the chat is the most fun!
this was a tough one today
It was tough. I must brag on myself. Yesterday I finished in 7 minutes with no list and no clues! Then I was bored senseless and had nothing to do.
oh, you're good
yesterday was fast, but I'm nowhere near that fast
I was shocked at the difference of numbers in the last 3 puzzles. But a board with only 3 vowels?? that was nuts
and I helped myself to a couple clues along the way too
it's a random assortment of letters each day, right?
The fun ones to me are the 300-400 word ones.
I think so. I think Dr_G has a computer program that randomly selects. But I really don't know.
smith, where do we find out the theme for each day?
I'm bored with my icon
Go down to the bottom to Angelsong's resource page and there is a link for icon themes. Hang on and I'll see exactly where...
browse image.google.com and find a new one! :p
An outtake from an old Bachman Turner Overdrive song - I met a devil woman She took my heart away She said, I've had it comin' to me But I wanted it that way I say that any love is good lovin' So I took what I could get mmh, mmh, mmh She looked at me with them brown eyes And said, You ain't seen nothin' yet B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet Here's something that you're never gonna forget B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet And you're thinkin' you ain't been around, that's right And now I'm feelin' better Cause I found out for sure She took me to her doctor And he told me of a cure He said that any love is good love So I took what I could get Yes I took what I could get And then she looked at me with them big brown eyes And said, You ain't seen nothin' yet B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
Babbler's profile for icons page
5 left
I love that song so it doesn't even bother me to have it in my head, so there!
Go daisy!!
does anyone have a clue to st 5/18?
onpaki, cigar
it's ok now. i've got it.
Tomorrow it's icons that represent your city, state, country, borrough, parish, whatever.

I love Paradise by the Dashboard Light!
England swings like a pendulum do, bobbies on bycicles, two by two... lol
Hmm, old songs, is it?
Can't find the go5/20 anywhere, got all the other go's
You lot may love America but I love my country, too!
Would you like to fly in my beautiful balloon?
So now I'm prayin' for the end of time, To hurry up and arrive Cause if I had to spend another minute with you I don't think I could really survive I'll never break my promise or forget my vows but God only knows what I can do right now
marc, jewish word for non-jews
Marc - what gentiles might be called by Yiddish speakers.
England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland (oh, and Cornwall!) - the green and pleasant land.
woot...there's a jewish word among the spanish ones? woot!
smithchick, check my profile for the latest on the kitty saga - a somewhat expensive outting to the vet!

LOL, JB...There is no deal...Not singing to meatloaf was a dealbreaker!
By the way, Diane, I love HK. Also, a great city. Have some great friends there. Try the Peking Garden for the best Peking Duck, sizzling beef and sizzling shrimp in town.
'cepting alice
ren!!! {{{hugs}}}
Marc - I don't think there is any 'deal' between myself and Smithchick, other than something you may have seen???
jb!!!!!!!!!! hows by you?
Come on Rish get on the board and say hello to everyone. I will try not to embarrass you.
Hi Ren!
hi
Ren, that is one scary barbie!
taking a quick study break
Hi, Rish!
hey mistress!
Hi renfield, what mistress?
any last hints before I pack it up?
Marc - Some people swear by Spring Deer for Peking Duck but I prefer the restaurant at the Sheraton.
hahahah smith - she's an 80's barbie
No one ever established just who Alice was. the one that was lived next door to.
Hi, Rish- why does Marc have to promise not to embarass you?
hey marc - hey rish
Well that explains it...Everyone was scary in the eighties!
How about the first ti5? puleeze!
cuz he likes to embarass me
I once lived 5 doors' away from Alice, though.
Hey, ren, see my profile for my kittie vet adventure tonight.

It could be that I'm just giddy from lack of sleep. I should really be in bed but you people are way to amusing!
I am not sure but I will let you know.
At the cat tales, smithchickie? Paddywhack's about to grab another sock for the ongoing parade!
Marc - the Celestial Court - food is fantastic. Are you talking about the one in Star House?
