Anywho, I cried like a baby, Leslie. It was soooooooo good. And I can't believe the end, with Izzie and with Meredith.
oops sorry
keyoard got stuck
Hello? I'm not seeing anything in the chatterbox.
i kinda saw the izzy thing coming, not the meredith thing. why, why, when you have chris o'donnell to come home to?
goodnight all!
delayed flip everyone!
that has been happening a bit here!
good night wassup.
Clues are up!
hi kristinc, assume you finished a while ago?
I'm a huge Meredith/McDreamy fan, but I was yelling at the tv to have her go home with the vet
ty Lickety!
whoa! speed-demon lickety!
that was quick, lickety, thanks!
is it a good sign when the first word I see has 7 letters?
yes stid, a little more time now so no one had to put up w/ me begging for clues at 9:59 :)
thanks Lickety! maybe I'll just start with the list today... tomorrow's my limited home-time day
it's a very good sign, knutmeg!
ch, you in seattle? icon guessing will be fun today
I was racing myself! Got it done in under 2 mins!
what's the theme today?
hi knutmeg! ***Liv***
no, I'm in South Central Idaho, and the icon is of the Shoshone Falls -- higher than Niagra! But funny you should mention Seattle -- we are thinking of moving there.
ch1212, it looks like your icon is of starbucks
the theme is an icon of your town, state or something identifying like that.
Off to make a run for the bathroom!
ch1212...move to Seattle...it's nice here
do come to Seattle, you'll be so much closer to me, too!
It was hot today.
oh...I'd have lots of choices then!
Yeah come to Seattle!
okay, back in a flash with a new icon.
oh whoops, hadn't refreshed and still had the starbucks icon
My beloved is wanting to go back to school for another Masters Degree. Right now we're looking at the job market, and checking apartments/condos out on-line. We like the area.
hellooooo!
Leslieann, the Starbucks icon is what I had yesterday too!
it's spendy, but nice
no, that's what i meant, that's why i thought you lived in seattle
Yes, we're discovering the 'spendy' part compared to small town Idaho.:)
lol.
Oh, refresh your screen?
OOOOHHHH... okay, Leslieanne, I just got what you were saying...I'm a bobblehead.
nope, just a babblehead
or maybe just a babblehead
oooh -- 221 -- don't think I'll have time tomorrow, so I won't start -- happy babbling, everyone.
haha i win
ch-we moved from a town of 11,000 in Oregon so it was an adjustment. Pay is also better up here though for the same jobs. If you stay out of King County proper you can do okay.
LOL gameboy and leslieann!
at life.
bye cybernan - sleep well!
i'm with nan, no time for this today. later folks!
OO there's a Bucati in there
'night leslieann
bye Nan and LeslieAnn
I want bicuspid
r7/36
okay, new icon loaded!
good night nan and Ann (sounds like Bobbsey twins, doesn't it?)
yay WA license plate!
B 7/40
even better, Washington and for my alma mater!
grew up across the water from it, too!
okay, diving in!
Lol.
Grr, dog..
what's our theme today?
krstin, just saw your message. Where in Oregon did you move from? I lived in Portland, and the Mt. Angel-Woodburn area from 96-99.
Have you seen the new ones? They've got an eagle or soemthing on them.
something that represents your location -- state, city, etc
Stidmama - todays grid looks nasty! Good luck! Gotta get back to work.
no, haven't seen the newest plates yet, only get out once a week.
hi harpjane -- you might want Old Faithful :) I have Shoshone Falls.
Hah. Okay
Ch1212-I grew up in Milwaukie just outside of Portland, went to college in Newberg and spent the last 3 years before Seattle in St. Helens (on your way to Astoria) Kinda all over. We alway went to Mt. Angel for Octoberfest...cute town
Whoa! I went to school in McMinnville kristin!
later, Lickety! thanks again!
Wow, small world! I also worked in Canby and Wilsonville, and shopped at the outlet in McMinnville :)
oh...good ole' McMinnville (we'd go there when everything in Newberg was closed) :)
Oh, and attended my daughter's Debate tournaments at that college in McMinnville.
Lol. I swear I lived in Muchas Gracias.
Linfield? Yeah I went there.
ah...Muchas Gracias (you guys are making me homesick)
T 7/32
The silly gas medicine be 5/14 can work but the cl 4/5 slang for the lady area can't in yesterday's grid. Go figure.
I agree leigh, I was wondering about the be 5/14 too -- I thought it was a brand name.
brb ...gonna get a Seattle icon
leigh - interesting you say that - because I've found that some words have been removed! I actually find clues for them - but have to remove them. The one you mentioned is one of them.
leigh - interesting you say that - because I've found that some words have been removed! I actually find clues for them - but have to remove them. The one you mentioned is one of them.
How do you generate the clue list anyhow?
from the enable word list
I wrote a clue creator program.
That's neat
*gives evil looks to playbabble* Behave, already!
Say, lickety, if we haven't said it lately, THANK YOU so much -- I doubt any of us could finish a grid without you and Brandyjack's help! :)
found tr9
And this is the appropriate time to thank you and tell yu that you do a great service
That's ch1212 - This is why I do it - Because you are all such lovely people. To be honest - I don't even play.
wow 9tanks, good for you *scans grid eagerly*
Thanks I mean - thanks ARB too!
rude
OOOOOps
!!!! No wAy! You don't even play??? Wow. I'm ... speechless (a real accomplishment, lickety and something many of my family would pay you good money for your secret!) :D Well, the fact you don't play makes your gift even more beautiful. thank-you.
refresh for Seattle at New Years!
Yay! 'Sneedle.
Wow, that's the space needle! Very cool!
cya in a few hours, stopping at 50
Lickety, are you a computer professional?
bye 9tanks!
ARB - yeah, 17 years coding
isn't bucati a word? some brand name for a car or something?
they lauch firewords from the space needle every year. We took this picture last year (hard to see I know)
later, 9tanks!
This clue creation was a great challenge! Keep checking the clues for more interesting stats that I'll slowly filter in.
kristin -- that is a great pic (worth looking at her profile to see it for real, folks!)
No, it looks great. I was attending a conference and staying across from the Needle the year the earthquake emptied the King Dome. Very scarey - I was one the 4th floor. Then on 9-11 I was in Los Angeles attending a workshop, and was supposed to fly back on Sept. 11. I think I should just never attend out-of-town conferences.
Me too -- began with Cobol on an NCR with a disk of 64 K that weighed 5 pounds and ended with Visual Basic for a huge PC network
I don' t know dr_god, but have been careful to make sure that I promote people to go pro - He's the real genius!
thanks Stid!
Cool ARB. Seems .Net is the way to go these days (for corporations anyway)
ch1212-warn us before you go to other conferences okay?
:) LOL -- and kristin, i really like your quote in your profile -- how very very true. You're doing good work in life. Blessings to you!
thanks ch!
I really like the new piece where when we click on someone's head icon a new box pops up.
okay, I shoulda looked at Lickety's page when I loaded it, before I typed in a single letter.... 28 tr? are we CRAZY?
Aww man! It won't take aries.
agreed...and at least you can see the icons more closely there.
well, stidmama ... I can't speak for you :)
yeah...stid, this grid worries me (only 40 words) but I have been chatting it up
Gaw. I didn't even realize that.
good point. I've only got 56. Time to buckle down.
I have 63 words, but slowing down mightily...
Well I've got 12 of the tr's.
tr 7/32 x 2
ta-Dah! 100 words in 30 minutes!
good for you melonhead!
yeah for you melonhead! I'm up to 94 now so I'm doing a bit better.
melonhead...you're killing me! Well done!
P 7/36
tx! i've got my own little thing going on...how many words in the 1st 30 minutes.
I have 86...
hi chic, didn't see you come in, I've been mostly in the grid.
lovely canyon you've got there!
kristinc, if i have any common sense i'll stop here. i don't like "monkey-typing." maybe i'll give a few clues b4 i turn in.
clues...clues you say?
did you find the tr 9?
just the 2 tr7s
and like a field of prarie dogs, heads pop up at the word "clue" ^ ^ ^^
I have the tr 8 and 9, stid
no, but i found se 9/60
I could use any and all of the crumbs you lovely people wish to toss our way!
I think I've typed recite about 8 times
got it! the tr 9 & its relatives.
care to share melonhead or chic?
is the tr9 a compound word?
tr 7/40,tr 8/55 and tr 9/72 build off the 7 which means to defame
I have 20 of the trs but not any 9
Thanks for that clue, melon. That se9/60 kind of sounds like office assistants, huh!
hey all - didn't finish yesterdays, so i'm gonna just get a little jump on this one
se 9: not quite assistants. alternate clue: religious group followed by 1st of zodiac.
I don't have the tr 7/40... looking...!
hi helen!
hiya stid!
hi helen...I thought we were racing? :)
tr 7 - wasn't that a sports car? (not a clue, just a musing)
lol kris - i got busy, tied up, ugh, that means you won!
I have two tr 7/32... but not the 7/40.
melon, got that se 9, thanks.
no worries Helen, I don't win too ofren so I'll take it
got them! Thanks, chic
no 7/40 here stid
yr wlcm
got the se 9 thanx, melonhead
we can race now for a bit, if you want, :)
stidmama -- tr + vowel + d4/7
tr 7/40 is just one letter different than tr 7/32
helen said a word!
chic - you snitch!!!
;-0
lol
*sigh, but different from which tr 7/32....* maybe I should call it a night and come back fresh in the morning.
stidmama, did you see my clue at 12:52?
oh, I think I might have said it to (maybe even started it)
yes, but then left with "which d 4/7..."
ah, okay... the du4/7 :)
i think I used up all my brain cells earlier.
nvm, I think I just got it...
yep. That was them...
I'm still stuck on it though
Jeez. That tr with a milllion words killed me dead
I knew you would! You're usually the one to give us clues so it's nice to return the favor.
by Jove, I think she's got it!
stuck on the top i
thanks so much chic, ch, melon...
kristin -- tr + first vowel... + the du 4 I didn't have before! LOL
thanks!
top i are both really really cold...
I have two du 4/7s, neither of which seem to work
okay, I think I'll go to bed on a high note....
well, kristin, just say what the du** (alternate spelling?) and try again!
it's a du 4/7 that is alternative spelling of a playing card that means 'two'. does that help?
Night mama!
lol...there's a Dr_G-d out there? too funny.
got it...finally!
night stidmama
thanks...usually doesn't take me that long
night stidmama -- see you tomorrow. I'm at 110 and am almost right behind you too. Time for the pillow.

Good morning all. I shouldn't really begin this one as I'm limited in time today. But here goes.....
No, we are no addicts. We can stop anytime we choose to. Really!
Morning Haz, Busy day ahead? It's definately better than yesterdays.
And hi there, Haz ;)
Good morning FMItch and sprite. I've to travel across to Edinburgh to pick up my youngest daughter and her 'stuff'. I get the ferry at 4/30 pm today.
Hole in the tooth! Glad I have some use for that sign.
Sigh
What's the sigh for, matty... not on a roll today?
Good mnorning Haz...I am off to Edinburghin a week for a couple of days family research. I love it there
Bet there a lot of stuff to bring back LOL
Hello everyone
Kallia - my husband and I met while at university in Edinburgh, so it holds happy memories for me! I never fail to rejoice at the sight of the castle.
Hi Preethi
Hi all! Have just popped in for a while - i'll be on and off throughout the day (haven't been able to hook mom, but i can get little spats of babbling in here and there)
How is it going?
Great place to be at uni :)
Hi amanda, are you enjoying her company?
FMIttch - when I went to university it was with one suitcase. Fiona needed the whole car to get her stuff across! Unfortunately her new flat doesn't become available until July and with nowhere to store it, it has to come home.
So far so good - no big disagreements, and she keeps cleaning things, which is ok by me!
Sigh in general. I'm tired. I'm at work. I'd rather be playing babble...
amanda can I borrow her please?
spire
My mother never cleaned anything for me, nor did she do anything else to help. Better cherish yours :)
I can empathise with that Sprite....
I hate r's......
I'll ask her, Kallia. She's been to Scotland and liked it, if I remember correctly. She is a pretty good Mom, Sprite - I think I'll keep her
Hi all -just a quick drop in. Did the site go down for everyone last night? Couldn't log back in before I went to bed to say goodnight.
yes it did snowy...for a little over an hour
Good for you, amanda! :) I am always glad to know there are loving moms in the world...and a bit jealous they are not mine, though I realise that is very small minded of me ;)
Hi snowy - site was down for about an hour last night
Well, to make up for my Mom, the powers-that-be gave me my Dad too - that's quite another can of worms!
morning everyone (or afternoon) not playing yet, just looking. I'll make up my mind after breakfast whether I am going to dive in.
Balance in everything, I guess. Hope you will have a good time with your mom, amanda, and you both enjoy it :)
Well, gotta run - will be back on later, but you'll probably be off by then. Maybe tomorrow!
Blast - babble time missed! LOL got a very rare early night anyway! Hi ExWren
bye amanda
Bye Amandacath -I'm off too - I won't log off so I can run back & forth as time allows.
Im at 75! need some help!
With...?
Mmm, I will have to change my icon, that one doesn't work. It is supposed to read "Hampshire tourism"
with cy 6/30
cy 6 = variant spelling of apple beverages
Beautiful clue, I was still thinking how to put it.
Thank you!
If only I could think up some of the remaining words! LOL
thanks for the clue .
got it!
lol Kateq :) You will!
There's a real gourmet feast in this grid today - sp4/7, tr5/12, be4/6
With ic4/5 for dessert
Haz don't forgfet the so 7

but who ate all the pi 4/5 ? ;)
Errrr... not all delicatesses are well spent on me! Don't wanna think about that Tr.
LOL sprite me neither!

Thanks
Sprite clue for de 8/55?
de + cu 6/24
De + Cu6/24
hmmmm
eu 6/24 clue, please? I have the one similar to the sleep problem.
re 7/36? please don't say plural of re6/24 as I don't have the second re 6/24 either
re's are hateful
i dont have cu 6 / 24
:(
Preethi think Indian food
Cu6 rhymes with the Bu6. Eu6 : eu + tear + vowel.
Kateq 6/24 = the savior
eu 6 = A sea channel characterized by turbulent and unpredictable currents.
preethi do u stay in india?
Will be back in a few mins
*tear verb, not tear wet sadness
yup
Thanks. My monkey was worn out on that one!
We need to be nice to our monkeys, we work them very hard ;)
TY, Preethi!
:)
Yes, but they are getting smarter all the time!
And now I must get some sleep. Verrrry late here. Night all.
Hey, I got all the Ys! They usually bug me no end
Sleep well, broll!
Lol, speaking of monkeys: Wa8/65 monkey (Macaca silenus) of south-central Asia, having a glossy black coat and a ruff of gray hair about the face.
And obscure U5: not off + greeting
wa8/65 - looks like an itinerant antipodean animal
yups, that's the one.
Time to go - I'll probably check in again later. But it's a MUCH nicer grid than yesterday's!
I enjoyed yesterdays, but this one is easier. Bye Haz, have a nice day :)
OK you have convinced me, if this one is easier than yesterdays, I'm in!
Hiya, everybody!!!!!!!

Hi everyone - still at work so can see chat instantly for a change
hey lynx!
Hi lyn
Actually its been quite good just working with the the lovely Licketys list (and just popping in occasionally to the List Archives). Certainly makes you think harder instead of taking the easy way out all the time and just posting a 'plea'.

god morning everyon. This looks like a nice one. Are looks deceiving?
Matty - if you have the pi6/30, the 8 is the plural.....
Any clues for the dreaded re's? Namely the re7/36?
its pretty nice, eva
matty--ending is one letter different from the ram god
My bad. Me be idiot!
Eva - re7/36= saves......
thanks movieman! That was a simple one. Just getting adjusted to this puzzle and still not seeing the patterns well.
yw, Eva....

we all did it - and sometimes still do!
Bubba, it's a daily if not hourly occurrence. Easy mistake to make.
ok found the 7
but that isnt even a word!!!
Great--you wanna give me a clue on the eight? :D
i got the 8 looking for the 7... it seems to be a lot more intuitive than the 7 (i wasnt even sure the 7 was a word!"
D'oh! There it is.
I am missing on of the sevens and it's driving me crazy :(
just to check, the pi6/30 that u're asking me to extend is the one which refers to what's being done on high seas?

stoutie - check out the yellow box at the bottom of the page. Go to Angelsongs resource page - it will tell you all you need to know. By the way this is very addictive so don't start if you want to have a life! lol

((((Capone))))
why isn't "pube" a word? Stupid language...
No Faerie - that is the convocation center at Ohio University. It is used for dorms, sporting events and other activities such as graduation.
help please with u's - i have u6 that is all!
Capone!!!!! Long time no see
There's a cy that's a type of drink?

Usually spelt with an i, not y, matty.
I don't have any u's yet Temple

Fun stuff, folks. :-) better than working. (I'm on my free period.)
tice
I'm back... had a milk emergency in the kitchen... it's a littlie home day
also a fake word -- it SOUNDS like a word.
Hi Jera.
Words that you think you see in the grid... so close to being there that you keep trying to input them... I call those phantom words...
atari, catar were 2 of my fake words
as was cupie
I like your icon, capone...
I hate phantom words that I keep typing over and over and over and over again. Get a clue! It ain't gonna work.
Any clue for the final cy (that doesn't sound like a drink)?
That would be a good comeback, musicmom... whatever happened to oops!
LOL Jera
My phantom word = annoy... I've typed it in 3 times now...
I wonder if Dr_God is looking
Hi all - a free 10 minutes! Hooray!
Matty - do you have the color?
{{snowy}}
Jews believe that Dr_God is everywhere, so he's always looking...
Hi snowy!
Christians too jfarber
Csan't speak for 'em, but I'll take your word for it, mm.
snew should be a word. "What snew with you?"
All seeing, all knowing all powerful
Oh I thought that was a past tense of snow
LOL
Is it just me, or is the site remarkably slow today?
I'm not having an problems right now Samantha
mine is ok for now, samantha joy
I had some lagging a bit ago but fine now...
help with the W please
musicmom, tell me about your icon?
Samantha mine is ok right now also
It is the Convocation Center at Ohio University. Dorms, athletic events and graduation are held there.
Has anyone seen Aussie????? Wondering if she had her baby??
It is one of the first things you see when you drive into campus. Beautiful building
*harrumph* It's just me, then. Way to make me feel picked on, guys! :P
Very cool... nothing much around here except the prison, so I went with the state bird...
LOL Samantha
*harrumph* It's just me, then. Way to make me feel picked on, guys! :P
Ours is the cardinal too
Well, it was just me a bit ago, prolly... just ride it out Samantha!
Hi fariekae, how many words have you done
Samantha your icon is soooo cute. Weeeeeee!
new icon, refresh
are you feeling beter now
It's pretty common, musicmom, but I love them... they were my mom's favorite, after owls, so I have a lot of them that I inherited from her...
Hi scatty I've got a whopping 55 words and I'm feeling a little better today. Gotta learn to eat.
Thank you, faerie.
Capone I like that one very very good. ROFL
LOL Capone
Faerie - eating is important
i beat you i have done 127
Samamtha, if it makes you feel better, it takes forever for my page to load after I've refreshed...
howdy all. how's the grid?
did you finish last night
Music - I know but sometimes I put it off until I just decide not to do it and then I end up getting sick. Like last night.
doesn't seem too bad jbp but I just started
figured you'd like it Faerie...
Yep my best friend is like that too
I have the colour that's used in printing, the word that sounds like a drink (that's usually soft in the States, hard in Britain) and its plural. It's the cy5/16 I'm missing...
*puts on chef's hat to make faerie a hearty breakfast if she so desires*
Scatty I ended up with like 90 or maybe 100 wrds before I really got sick and threw up and went to bed
Poor faerie!!
i'm sorry to hear that faeriekae
Jera - yes please. I'm hungry <grin>
I want to find 2 more words before I resort to the list...
next time you will think twice about not eating properly
Sorry matty - I don't have that one.
What would you like, madam??
How many do you have Jera?
which words are you after jera
Oh it is my own fault....that could be why I'm so stinkin' skinny.....
resort to what list
Jera - I think toast, scramble eggs and bacon sounds good with Orange Juice please :)
Just found 120... 101 to go, I want to round that off to 100...
Mmmm... *whips it up for faerie & present in on fine china plate*
WTG Jera
mary, if you go underneath the grid and click on lickity's babble list you will see the beging of all the words
You can have some of my fat FK
Mine too Faerie - How much do you want?
BTW - how is the belly dancing going faerie? I haven't done any in a few weeks
Jera *such an elegent breakfast* Thank you very much *woofs it down* *chugs juice* awwww thanks
LOL
capone, she's having mine first
*offers faerie an extra napkin*
Music I'm actually getting a little better at it. I
I'm closer than both of you --- i can get it to her faster
i wanna see!
*takes napkin and wipes chin* <grin> thanks!
your making me hungry jera
I need to get back to it. Stuff with the kids and vacation kind of distracted me.
can someone make me some pancakes? I miss them! I want pancakes in England!!
Capone turn on your webcam. Music get your scarf out and lets perform for Capone.
cy 5/16 - before I have a nervous breakdown.
LOL Faerie - i'm not performing for anyone yet.
Back in a bit... potty problems...
Get yourself some Bisquick, Atalante!
Ata - Jera makes a wonderful breakfast :)
sorry, matty -- not got that, either.
add the letter onto the end of the colour, matty
Im at work 8(
do we have bisquick? I've never seen it anywhere!
Jera has to go wipe a butt *teehee*
Sorry Musicmom, I just got into my car to deliver mine
how many you got matty
Capone - dang isnt't that the way it always happens
Am I missing something --- it seems like the robbers of the high seas should be int he grid
You bellydance for me, I'll act like a seal for you!
A lot about them is in teh grid MM
NOT fair Inge! You are far too charitable:-)))
Only 93 - work keeps interupting! cy5/16 PLEASE
Music I ended up ordering Bellydancing with Nena and Vena and I love it. Much better than Mystical Dance
add the letter onto the end of the colour, matty
I LOVE Vena and Nena --- glad you like it
Got it - thanks - I've seen Bisquick in Tesco, but not lately. Are you also originally from the us?
At 149 I am taking a break to get the circulation going. later
bye inge
nope - utterly english, its just that most of my friends are in the US ... and I've just come back from CA, and am missing pancakes desperately!
Bye Inge
bye inge
they're not hard to make, atalante--even w/out bisquick
Capone... I can pay you now! LOL
oooh really? I'll have to hunt out a recipe :)
Hi. Can anyone answer my question of earlier? Why I lose my word count for each letter on the tile slats when I go off the grid? It's getting annoying!!!!
It's tough when the littlies ALMOST make it to the potty in time...
They don't have pancakes in England???
cy5/16 = colour + vowel
LOL Capone - just saw your seal comment
Jera - I hate that!
I don't know pessie
pezzie
not much :( wah
crepes....
Thanks, Serenity... that put me at goal... off for the list!
Crepes are just really thin pancakes, right?
atalante: see http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipe s/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_13660,00.html
Or pancakes are simply thick crepes....
I love crepes....
I'm a funny seal
I love food
Blueberry panckakes - yummmmmmm.....
I'm a lousy belly dancer
Of course, I just put it that way for Atalante... just use whatever you use for crepes, but make it thicker...
crepes don't have any leaveners, i think.
oh thank you! wow! you can make the mix and hoard it ...
crepes are much effier than pancakes
I loooooove blueberries... pancakes & syrup!
w/out leaveners, your crepes will never be pancakes
filled with spinach, ricotta, mascarpone and parmesan....
And butter, Jera!
Temple Owl... effier??
opps - i mean eggier - and right no leavnening
ok, i'm definitely hungry now...
anyone to the o's yet?
I've never mastered making crepes --- I make great pancakes and waffles though
oooh yes Lamancha - there was a wonderufl crepe stall near work, I used to have spinach, mozzarella and sometimes ham. gorgeous!
Not a big fan of butter here
My specialty is french toast... I have a spicy variety & a sweet variety...
butter is manna
So a baby seal walks into a club.....
Thanks anyway,Music mom
Sounds like we need to get together and make a breakfast buffett
you can all them crumpets
DUH buffet
and what Capone?
Yes capone ---
thats the punchline FK
Like a bit of crumpet, myself....
Love butter...I make wonderful homemade buttermilk, blueberry pancakes. That's one of the very few things I cook well.
booooooo
The Sprite is having a special breakfast at school tomorrow before a big test... she's taking bananas... they will also have bagels & other fruits & spreads... I might go!
Never had a crumpet.
That sounds good Jera
What is a crumpet??
mmmmmm I'll have to get some buttermilk tomorrow when I go shopping then have a pancake pig out!
We went to Sarah's International Fair last night. Lots of interesting food there.
I love international food fairs!!
crumpets are DELICIOUS!
I have a a friend from the Phillipines and they have some really good food there. She's cooked for me a few times.
get it, baby seal, club?
How are sp5/12 ier and sp5/14 ier not words. My fountain is sp*****ier than yours
A crumpet is like a tiny pancake, or really a cross between a pancake and an English muffin. You can't get English muffins in England...
Uhm Capone - I think I need another cup of coffee
Mmm, crumpets, toasted with lashings of butter dripping down your chin!
lol
good one matty! They are springy rather than cake like & are full of air holes which absorb butter like nothing else. delicious sweet but I like them best with Marmite!
does that say will work for poo caone
marmite????? wow, I'd never thought of that one
mmmmmmmarmite
What is marmite?
it's a savory spread
sort of like if bullion could be spreadable
Made out of what?
They are gorgeous Atlatante! Marmite is a yeast extract.
it's an acquired taste, for those who don't grow up with it
Oh...
Marmite is EVIL. It is yeast extract - or to me, the gunk you find on the inside of car doors. It is VILE. AWFUL. As you may gather, people either love it or HATE IT>
LOL!!!
mmm I cna imagine, snowy! I'll have to try that
Well, I'm not sure, but I think matty may fall under the HATE IT category!
brb
Marmite is GROSS. Salty, yeasty brown, sticky gunk. Just thought I'd clarify that. My (British) husband and daughter like it, though. I can't even stand the smell.
i'm stopping at 106 for now; i must go find food! cheers, everyone!
There are definately no grey areas with marmite -you either love it or hate it. Here my husband & son & son in lawhate it, my daughter, my daughter in law & i love it!
Bye, bookgrrl
93 to go and ground to a complete halt - time for a wee break - back to work!
I prefer Bovril to marmite
I actually just kind of like it. I like it once in a while - like once every year LOL - but more than that - ick
LOL matty! It's delicious! The grandchildren are the same 3 who like it 2 who dont
I like bovril as a drink but not as a spread
Bye Lamancha
I like it on toast, but can't stand marmalade
darn! cartier not valid ;)
And I'm back
why can't i make pirates!!!!???
i mean in the grid, not by waving my magic wand
shhh shes back
jbp - I couldn't either put there is a pi7 that is related
Sounds like a personal problem to me, jbp! Hey, Faerie!!!
thanks muicmom!!
arrrgg.
hi faerie
Hi Snowy :)
Brrrr...my house is freezing right now
It's cold here too Smith --- I have a quilt over my lap
so all the bellydancing talk has made me think, i need a new hobby, what should i take up?
Quilting
quilting
LOL
no, i have two left hands (and i'm right handed)
grey wet & cold here too. We had 2 days of summer last week. Thats probably it for the year now!
hehehheeeeee
plus i hate needles and would be scared i'd poke myself
ummm, tr 7/40??
cooking
I have a really random question - does anyone here have tattoos / have any strong views on them? I'm designing a big tattoo for a good friend and finding the idea that something I'm designing will be on her for ever rather weird!
a true muffin is made wth yeast
already cook
atalante... what part of her is it going to be on?
How about shadow boxing
and you already do gaming ----- how much time do you have?
Ata - I do??
{{snowy}}
I don't have one, don't really want one (I don't think) but think some of them are okay
morning, everyone. it's a very color-full grid today.
on her back - it'll go down from the nape of her neck to the small of her back - so big!
I have some...much to my hubby's dismay. He really shouldn't have made me mad. Mine aren't really big.
i have ink atalante, thought about it for about 6 months before i got one, then on my 30th b-day i said WTH and had it done. its very goofy cartoony pic of Al Capone, but its so me
how about some voluntary work capone?
i'll box you fk
Hi Jera - I'm trying to recruit capone for some volunteer work!
I got my lip print tattoed to my butt. A kiss my butt to hubby.
Maybe he could be a Girl scout leader ------- UHM NO!
Well, you know what he'll work for...
nah, id rather donate $$, not a big "in your face" kinda guy when it comes to helping
atalante, one of my friends has a gorgeous eagle spreading its wings across her lower back. She's in good enough shape physically that the eagle looks graceful.
do you ever regret getting them done? I'm so worried she'll decide she doesn't like this 5 years down the line! but saying that, she's been thinking about it for a few years now, so its not just a whim
LOL smith
smithchick, that is awesome!!!
Doanting money is good, capone, how much do you want to give my Troop?
no to the scouts too, i got booted from the boy scouts when i was 9...something about my language
I think all of us (ok, us younguns) think about getting one - I have thought about it - but taking that step is huge
atalante, she can always have them removed later. they're getting better and better ways of doing that
One of my Kindermusik parent's has a ring tattoed on her index finger. I think it looks really neat!
I like that idea... I lose rings a lot...
say, some of us 'oldums' have thought about too :) but ... nah. Good morning all, by the way
Yeah - capone - You could sponsor Jera, Snowy and I.
like i said, i thought it over for months, part of me loves the fact i did (esp cause of the needle) but part of me thinks, you dumbass....why scar your body up more than it already is!
oh really? thats good! the old removal processes looked frightful!
Morning, ch!
If I get one ever it will be when I'm older and I know where the wrinkles are going to be
Sometimes I regret them, but the only one who really sees them is me. Hubby if he's been a good boy. I have a little vine of forget me nots on my lower back, but it always stays covered. Then I have a little forget me not with a tiny heart dangling from it on the side of my boob.
I am 32, I didn't want to offend ;) I am sure my dad's generation also thinks about it - at least they did at one point
my daughter has a modern style angel on the nape of her neck & a celtic one on the base of jer back! My son also has a modern celtic one on his arm. My sisters both have them,. they spend all their time hiding them from my mother who swears she will disinherit anyone who has one!
lol sponsor all of you? i'm not rich!
We will be bringing in some money this weekend... hopefully sell the rest of our cookies at Mayfest
I want to get my zodiac sign with the zodiac signs of my children inside of it. But first, I have to stop havnig chlidren (just have one)
it's okay dino -- I'm 50 and even my mom's generation had tatoos, including some of the ladies. It just wasn't quite as popular.
I don't think I'd like needles in my neck...
Best of luck Jera
My zodiac sign is also my husband's name, so kind of a double hit ;)
ar6, please?
Okay - so all of you that have them. Did it hurt?
more creative Angel
I'd love to get eyeliner... but there's the proximity of needle thing again...
angel... more like the mona lisa
http://tinyurl.com/r6hu8 you can see Al here
It didn't hurt too bad, but I also had four kids with no anesthesia.
also remove one letter fromthe word I said it wouldn't take ;)
That would scare me, Jera.
tr 7/40?
!! smithchick
You are brave
more creative-like Angelsong
YES it hurt! I almost passed out from the needle poking me
Music you ask did it hurt???? YES
of course I went in on an empty stomach, which wasn't good.
I likie the thought of the eyeliner too but if my mother ever asks for proof of now tattoos - ican sweep the board LOL!
I'd get a little celtic peacock thing I think, but the needle aspect disturbs me immensely!
My mom didn't get any tattoes until she was in her fifties. My little sister is an evil influence! She was with me when I got mine, and with my mom when she got hers.
And that is another reason why I don't have a tattoo ;)
I have 3 and I've had them for about 17yrs years and I don't regret it.
Yes Capone - but we already know you are afraid to quilt because of the needle. I stick myself that way all the time
Yeah, think about it... a thousand fast injections... I'd say that would hurt...
It is the color that hurts.....the outline wasn't too bad
With all my medical problem,s recreational injections doesn't appeal to me...
What are yours faerie? Or can you say?
When my son was in towelling nappies, my husband would never put his hand under the nappy in case he stuck the pin in himself!
And --- I hadn't thought about the birth aspect. Having given birth twice --- could it really be that bad??
I need another one on my left arm to balance it out, but not sure what i want yet
there's a difference? hmmm yes, I suppose there would be, colouring is more area than line
I have 2 faeries and an ivy around my ankle
I have a pretty high pain tolerance.
brb phone
Cool!
So do I Smith
I recently got my fifth ear-piercing... that's as wild as I get...
you know, we should have a tatoo theme day, where we all post pictures of either a tatoo we have or a tatoo we would have in fantasyland :)
well I seem to be specialising in tat design, capone, LOL whether I want to or not! I#ve had quite a few people asking me to design for them recently!
so do I. works against me sometimes because I'm injured or sick more than I think
ok, another unrelated question - I am sick with a sore throat, ear ache and have a drs appt scheduled - do I take my 7mo to swim lessons or wait until after doc? kiddo is coughing and rubbing her nose, as well
Don't go to swimming dino
Go to doctor first... both of you!
my nose piercing was enough to let me know that I am no candidate for body art
The rest is very important to both of you
no swimming, dino -- your kid sounds contagious too
what Jera said!
theres a really sexy headshot of TSM i wouldnt mind having on my arm, but names and faces of partners are too ify
we are both going, ya - I thought waiting was wise, too
That's true, musicmom...It's funny though, I could get my arm ripped of and not utter a sound and then moan and groan about a headache!
Ewwww... nose piercing!
just making sure I am not paranoid by not going
I am 60 years old and got one tattoo ten years ago. Very liberating.
I am 60 years old and got one tattoo ten years ago. Very liberating.
LOL smith - sounds like me
you don't want to end up with swimmers ear, dino
Dino --- trust me it is better not to go
i only wear a very very very small stud when I wear anything
That's not paranoid.
Good for you Gail!
good for you Gail. (smile)
wow Gail! go you! :)
A bit of paranoia can be a good thing with a littlie!
I think I already have it - used to get it all the time as a kid
I don't want to pierce anything other than my ears!
altho, now that I'm 40, and recently engaged, I'm thinking of not wearing it anymore.
It's a small bumblebee. Right now I am recuperating from having both knees replaced three weeks ago tomorrow.
I would get grossed out having to "pick" my nost to put it in...
i won't lie, it hurt.
it is part of you and fiance loves you with it - why change?
aie gail
Since BGL isn't on line I will say I have thought about a tattoo for my 40th.
it's actually not gross, it's just a regular earring with the post bent at a 90 degree angle so it will stay in
Tommorow the Sprite & I can take out our studs... but hers are so pretty, I don't much see the point!
hopr your recovery is speedy Gail
I don't htink i could do the nose thing
So you don't have to put a backing inside, like with an earring?
For some reason, my mind has decided that piercings are more painful. I'd probably get my belly button pierced, but it kind of loses something in the translation when you are old and very out of shape!
well, there's also the working in corporate america thing... i've had it for 10 years, and used to be a college professor
laugh
OOOOOOOO I don't like bellybutton piercings!
also belly buttons get infected easily
Thanks. It's very hard work.
no, Jera, no backing.
my nose is too small
this is the basis of the current one I'm designing - http://www.atalante.f2s.com/tat_may.jp g - as it is on my sketchpad right now!
Have to go folks 2 littlies downstairs & hubby has to go to pick up the twins
That sounds better than I imagined...
bye snowy
the pain from piercings is quick. what hurts is afterwrds, when you forget and smack the phone into your ear. i have 15, i should know
it's on about draft 3 now LOL
Bye, snowy!
But to pierce it that have to stick something up your nose, I guess?
Ouch!
I have not been sleeping very comfortably with the latest piercing, I sleep on my side 90% of the time
just avoid getting it somewhere that will sag - a boob tattoo is right out - a sagging rose just isn't pretty ;)
nj - thanks for the info
Jera- I have two piercings in each ear. Decided that was enough
It depends on where the boob tat is...
I was living in Germany when I had it done, and the piercing guy told me this story while he did it: you are a big puffy cloud, up in the sky. an Indian is on the ground with a bow and arrow. he aims and shoots the arrow up through the cloud, and
I really like the finger thing
CLICK
atalante, that's a great drawing
my boobs changed drastically feeding kiddo
The boob one was actually the least painful.
it was in
or ankle
I like being asymetrical
ankle is what I was thinking for mine - if I ever get it
need more coffee and a potty break. Brb
We're going to buy some cool earrings this weekend to celebrate...
I work with the girls at our church, and they are discouraged from getting them, so I didn't want them to see mine. Otherwise, I probably would have gotten one on my ankle.
I guess a ring one would be painful for the same reason...
the problem with ring earrings in new piercing holes is the jiggiling and finagling you have to do to close the earring
Well, I hate to go, but I've got to go to the dentist and have a crown put on. Back in a couple of hours!
good luck smithchick!
talking of pain ...! good luck!
Bye, smithchick, good luck!
im off may or may not be back later
Good morning, need a clue for se9/60
marc, it's like the women who take dictation
if Dubbya said their job title
se9 is something like an assistant

go jbp go
go jbp go
again, thanks jbp. would have never found that one
another one sounds like possessive pronoun + the place where you store stuff up top of your house
i'm telling you, it's the log!
i'm too lazy to read the old logs, so appreciate your 'interpretations'
mattygroves, just read your profile and it occured to me --- there are many, many babblers who are fans of science fiction. I noticed the same thing at a seminary library where theology students had a shelf of books they brought from home -- almost all were either science fiction or thrillers. I think there is a correlation between sci-fi and intelligence. Makes sense. Just rambling here...
so whomever doesn't like sci-fi isn't intelligent?
abe... well, i'm pretty lazy too, but I still have yet to finsih a whole puzzle....
*whoever
anyone have a tr 9 clue?
LOL, I just found a word by typo... gotta love those...
plural of one of the tr 8 ones
!! Lol soytalento! I wouldn't say that :D
nope my biggest tr is a 7
I've done that Jera
Works for me... ;) Last episode of the second season of Battlestar Gallactica here - and of course, we have the second season of Doctor Who running at the moment. And Jack's coming back to Stargate!
mmm yes, lots of sci-fic and fantasy fans lurking around here!
i think sci fi goes with a particular kind of mindset - one open to bizarre and unusual possiblities. i love it.
oops i have no tr 8 yet
One day several babblers had a discussion about science fiction authors, and I noticed it then too.
good point, academianut :)
bah im out
bye
well, start with tr* (as in la la la) and add the 2 card
jbp- i t hink today is your day to finish. i can feel it
there's your 7.
then make it an agent, and pluralize it, etc
bye soytalento
from your mouth to god's ears, Abe
I agree ch. I don't love Sci Fi but love thrillers. I have read sci fi and can appreciate it though.
course only found babble cause my favorite fantasy author (robin hobb) plays sometimes.

Yeah! Now I have all my 8s
me too musicmom. **minor celebration for us**
i have 2 u ones... opp of DOWN + opp of hello
and opp of DOWN and a thing you throw towards a circular target hanging on the wall
okay, I've typed in everything I can think of for that pi7, but the word I'm thinking of for copying music illegally / pi***** of the high seas just doesn't work -- there is no 'e' attached to the beverage letter.
ch1212... an AK-47 is an autom**** weapon
ch --- use the ending of a small parasite (deer t**) instead
think about the high Cs not the high seas, ch1212 :P
those **** are your last 4 letters
how about this for pi7: sounds like a bloodsucking insect on fire?
aaahhh... thanks atalante and musicmom!

Good question musicmom!

Good morning Babblers:)

hi snowy:)
thanks, Charm!
what a grid!
yw
I'll have to play on paper I suppose...have plenty to do today, and don't want to screw up my rank, but still want to try to play
trying to get as much as piossible done as I have yet another long meeting to go to in few hours.
how about the os?
part of it depends on what he's doing today, and it looks like...not much
never mind,
got it right as I hit enter
lol ...i had no idea that there was ranking....i just looked at mine and i'm still laughing at how low i am on the scale
lol
how about the ps one?
curies
oops
yeah, i don't even want to think about ranking...
Am I the only one who desperately wants to find "Scadian" in this puzzle? Even though I KNOW it won't be in the dictionary?
no, AmJoy, you are not alone
I gave up on the rankings ages ago, the way its done now, if you miss a few grids you go way down.
well...I should be that way...but numbers are kinda my "thing"...I'm one of these weirdos that can remember phone numbers from 20 years ago...car tags...
ps-false or nearly (ps***o).
I don't worry about rankings - I just don't have enough time to finish many puzzles.
charm, I would *swear* that I typed it... but obviously not so much...THANKS!
LOL tn! I am hopeless with numbers! I'm OK with phone numbers, but everything else is a nightmare!
yw - Glad to help - I'm struggling today.
how about the pu5 16?
ps false? Huh?
As usual, it's the stinking 4-letter words that are kicking my butt :(
pu 5/16 is the plural of the pu 4 before it
pu4/7 - a dark red color. pu5/16 is pl.
no, wait, I got the pu 5
jbp - do you have the pu4/7/ if so its the plural (colour)
The pu 5/16 is a plural of the pu 4
ugh, i need to take a rest here
thanks arb and samjoy
and snowy
and charm
;-)
LOL!
Hi, snowy. how are you?
quite the teamwork we have going on !!
I thought that ps would end in a round vowel...hmmm...I know what the word is though...just odd
Hi Charm -I'm OK thanks, busy with the littlies but OK otherwise. Is all well with you?
I think the same as you. My little guy is having his big 4th (yikes) birthday on Saturday. So I'm trying to think what to do for him.
Cherm - try a art party
Charm even
And clean up afterwards?!?!?
PS help please (that's not postscript!)
get them to clear up - they should be learning to tidy up hehe
The time flies doesn't it? LOL my baby is 25 in November!!!!! The littlies here are my 5 grandchildren!
There are places you can go to where they can paint pots and such like - mugs
CJ 25 - not a bad idea. Might have to look into it. Although his only request is ice cream cake. and plenty of it!
my "baby" will be 16 on the 25th...I'll have to celebrate with her when she gets here in July...
Does anyone have the three middle SCs? The two fives and the six?
Do you have a hall you could hire -then although you have to clean up its not your floors that get wrecked! I had 21 under 3s here once for a party and had to buy new carpet! aftervthat it was always the church hall!
PS!!!!!! Helpppppp
Mattygroves - ps***o - something that's nearly something else or can be mistaken for something else.
Doh - I got confused be the previous clue...
Thanks
Snowy - NOT 21 toddlers! I'm thinking more along the lines of half a dozen or so running fast and loose in my hovel....
i'm breaking. c y'all later.
My daughter is 15 in nearly 3 weeks. How time flies...
bye jbp
samantha, on of those sc's rhymes with a valentines day symbol
bu4?
the other 5 sounds like S + policeman
and the 6 is plural S+police man
err..I hate to say it..but MY baby just turned 40.(omg when did she get to be MY age!!)
I'd just gotten those, thanks. Now I'm down to the sc 5/14 and I'm well and truly bamboozled.
My mother's baby just turned 40 too! you think SHE feels old. lol
LOl Cahrm I did have 21 toddlers! - but only once! How about endless games then or hire a bouncy castle? We also found that doing 'real meals' instead of party food is less messy.
CHARM!!! Hush, lol.
samantha, sounds like what you get when you have a bad wound
Definitely doing 'real' food - also inviting the parents to help keep the tykes in line.
My oldest just turned 45.
Lianakate! - When I got to 50, I was moaning to my mum about it and she said 'how the he88 do you think I feel then!
I have 9 grands, and TWO gr grands..and yet, and yet..I am young still..(not looking in mirror)
SamanthaJoy - the reult of a healed wound and add the 5th vowel in the middle
HAHAHA..snowy..I like youre MUM.
angel, bu4 is BU+**Y of sunshine
Hey, nrkii...Don't you ever sleep?
i have depressed myself...Growing old..is NOT fun..no matter what THEY tell you.
smith, right back at ya!
liana...You aren't old!
I'm at work now, but wanted to get part of the babble day done
I'm halfway, and going to stop till after work
Lianakate - you need something with a kick to pick you up. cheesecake, anyone?
I don't sleep...I just become more and more irritable!Catch you later, nrkii!
Smith..I am not??????? when does it start to set in?..when you get Medicare?
we've got 5 grandchildren -I definately don't feel old enough to be a granny but I LOVE it! I don't intend being old EVER!! My grandmother was the youngest 92 year old you could meet. I intend being aa disgraceful as is legel!
ooh, just got the YO HO HO words -- now I'll stop!
as is legal even!
"when I am old I shall wear purple..with a red hat that doesnt suit.
Thats the ticket Liana! Who's poem is that?
Hi everyone. Dont want to boast, but I have SIX grandchildren. And as for wearing purple, I've worn it all my life, so what does that say? Forever old?
Oh no hetty - forever young surely1
hi hetty
Does anyone have the eu 6/24?
My mom just turned 60 has toe rings, tattoes and wears ankle bracelets. She's cool. My five sisters and I won't let her get old. Alzheimer's runs in our family so we're going to make sure we fool it by making it think she is too young!
eu6/24= (earlier clue) greek playright minus -des.
charm, do you have the other eu?
sorry, abe - but on a roll with the b's at the moment!
go for it charm!
a\lso, lianakate, our eldest just turned 52. and. snowyowl, I was trying to be funny--you know? inverting the cliche? As for the poem-When I am old I shall wear purple", student introduced ut to me in 1979 as something she had found in a magazine. A few years later it was EVERYWHERE
My grandmother was a total rebel! spent all her time undermining my mum! LOL we had fun -it's what I'm doing now -not in a serious way of course -just the fun things! She was also ace at getting the vicar drunk because he was to polite to refuse her killer gin and tonics! I have a fridge magnet that says 'Welcome to grandma's - children spoiled while you wait!
LOL, snowy!
My mother was one of 7 sisters, al of whol could sing except the one who used to impersonate the vicar when it came her turn to perform at parties. For remi8nding me of her, snowyowl, I thank you, One of our daughters resembles her strikingly. Genes are wonderful, are they not.
sorry..i had to answer the phone..I think the poem was written by Jenny Jones..not sure, but a framed copy of it has graced my walls since I was 50..
btw..i wear thongs for underwear..ha, ankle bracelets..and thumb rings..My grandkids SHREIKED when I told them I wanted thongs for Christmas..but I got em..HAHAHAHA
Woo! You go liana...Although I couldn't stand wearing thongs. Most uncomfortable.
hi everyone! i have wa8, tr8/55 X 2, pi8/50...can i please have some help on the missing?
When I Am An Old Woman.com welcomes you to learn about the popular poem Warning, by Jenny Joseph.
my picture was taken when I was 63..if you can see it. Am rarely guessed at much over 50..GENETICS
Hey, TO!
LOL hetty - such fun1 My grandmother had 6 sisters & 2 brothers and they were friends all their lives. She was the last to go and missed them all. we had wonderful parties as my grandparents lived with us and they all did a 'turn'. Best nights we ever had. all my friends loved them when we were teenagers - knocked the disco right offf the board.
Hello, Praes...
hey gang! sneaking in a few at lunch! but i'm off 1 day for the theme!
Chicki..i find them very comfortable..

I really apologize for all the server problems lately, folks. There is a gremlin hiding on the server somewhere, and I've been pulling my hair out this past week or two trying to find it. No luck so far. :(
yes, i just got back on after an hour
stupid gremlin
Well, since I'm completely inept when it comes to technology, I'm not sayin' a word!

I was panicking, I thought it was my computer at risk
The first re6/24?
welcome back exwren!
mind you, I was struggling with the re's at the time, I was blaming them!
those cursed re's
I was just panicking because I thought I was going to have to do something constructive.
i hate being constructive at work
constructiveness is overrated
I'm at home where it is apparently even harder for me to be constructive. I'm supposed to be doing either work work or housework.
I did laundry while the server was down
I sat at the computer looking bereft.
Got up a couple of times to do something and forgot what I got up for, so sat back down.
I'm having headache issues. It seems the only thing I'm capable of while having a headache is babbling!
smith - sorry to hear about the headaches
They aren't too bad, it is just hard for me to concentrate.
is your screen to bright or the print too small? sometimes when i babble a lot i have to make the letters slightly larger
no help with the re6/24? The first one?
I'm taking myself off of an antidepressant, and I'm wondering if that has something to do with them.
evening all hows the grid today?

today's grid seems kinder than yesterday's.. yesterday's grid seemingly had a bloodthirsty attitude towards babblers..
i agree, these words all seem more real than yesterdays
Got that too. Let me try to refresh.
It was to make up for the weeny one from Sunday.
I am missing the middle four re - between the re that ends in i, and the re4/4
Nope, still missing an a.

Smithy the word for what we breath + crossbar
de + cu6/24
That was it, TY ARB!
Does no-one take pity on me...
Whew!

... ..
I don't have one that ends in i, matty. But i have an re4/14 that means to happen again, an re6/24 that has something to do with drawing, and anre6/30 that means to re tape something + plural
I meant an re5/14 happen again
Puleeze :) I am missing re5/14, re6/24, re5/18, and re 6/30
Oops again, the re6/30 is the plural of the re5/18 which is to retape.
Resit ain't there...
So can you clue me on the one that ends in i?
Even though we know it is a perfectly legitimate action!
Um...if something is right, it's corr** - add an I to the end.
re6/24 is a color plus an a** (event)
Smithy, there is an eu 6/24 that ends in i
TY, matty
I resit all the time. I'm doing it right now as a matter of fact.
oooh, you guys are giving such great clues, i may not have to resort to the list at all, (knocking on all the wood i can find, lol)
Oooh - got smithchick's clue - thanks!
Got those, ARB. I'm down to 30 consonants now.
YW
any clues on the 8 letter word starting du - driving me crazy - pls help

Got the r's. It was a duh word.
Smithy, do you have 10 re's?
OK, duh works, too
arb, is there more than 1 re4?
One more re left - re5/14 between the one I clued, and the one that includes a word that means to do something, or emote on stage. There are two re fours.
Abe, there are 2 re 4's
the other form of the one that ended in i was what I was missing.
anyone help with last 2 en's Please?
thanks arb and mattygroves

Hello, I must have been a very bad babblette. I've been unable to join the fun, since early this morning. :{
hiya gramma!
Hi, gramma and sarcasticah...
Hi Vermont Gramma
ARB = I have a magnet with that, and another which says 'queen of dessert.' All those antioxidants - we should live forever!
From your mouth to whoeever's ear
My mother is 60 and lives on chocolate. She just had a bone density thing done and her bones were even better than the norm. All that chocolate
I also have a magnet quoting Shakespeare (corolineas, I think) "have we no wine here?"
Actually, my magnet says 'hand over the chocolate and no one gets hurt' - each letter cut out from the newspaper to look like a ransom letter. very cute.
howdy all!
No Atari in dictionary... that truly is a shame...
I believe a balanced diet is one ounce of high quality chocolate with one ounce of high quality red wine.
Hey, smazing and Amanda

wtg kallia - how many left? 16 here

Hi Kallia been a while! ch1212 wonderful sunsets and sunrises here in UK but never seen one quite like my icon. Nearest I ever got to it was Montery Bay Ca.

even stevens
could someone point me to the bu 6/27? I'm st*****d, thanx
been around at odd times FMitch ...
Quick supper - didn't like the music on offer (cuz I'm strange - hubby and daughter have the Red Hot Chilli Peppers on - I'd rather watch Angel)
missy... well, bu** the hatchet and then pluralize it
21 left
Now...what am I gonna do about the se nine...
missy - it down below you, like what they will do with your casket (maybe)
me too Kallia, work has really taken over recently so have been lurking - plus its har dto babble and chat and work with the new layout - doesn't work so well.
come on Smith chick :)
d'oh.... thanks all, that was a fishy one!
I agree with that FMitch
I want ricercar to be in the grid...
missyem I like your icon -- just read your profile too, and I spent 9 years growing up in Portland. I was even (please don't tell anyone) a junior rose princess back in 1963 or 64 ...
I keep getting stuck on the phone, now it's my mom
ah, so ch1212, what's a junior rose princess?
smithchick, tell her you're playing with your friends and you'll clean your room later :D
Hey, missy
Oh ch1212 - do you have a photo of you back then as tje rose princess? That would be a great icon!!!!
ch, I was reading back in the log & saw you all chatting about metro PDX.... The image is a nonprofit dog daycare I designed -- www.virginiawoof.com -- I'm very smitten with how it turned out
LOL, ch!!
lol ch
I could just ignore like my daughter does me.
(cringing) oh, helenkeller Portland has a big Rose Parade in June, and high school girls compete to be Rose Princess. The little girls in 4th grade compete for Junior Rose Princess. You folks are the first to hear me admit that in 40+ years
hey, smithy! been meaning to ask -- are you a smithchick like I'm a vassargrrl, or is it another ref?
Wow, missyem, you are very gifted!
Speaking of Portland - I went to Reed College, if anyone cares...but it was a while ago ... and I got my degree in the end here in England.
It's another reference.
my board just foze up on me again
cool, Matty! BTW --Reed is a ganga luvin' school, not saying anything about you, Matty, lol
I want pirate to be in the grid
and beyond and anyone
no, douglas, but it seems like every variation on that is (I add dryly)
Heh - read my profile - you'll see why I went there, even if I didn't finish. Not to mention my username.... What's ganga?
thanks ch, and for the record, I'm 41.... most of us PNW babblers seem to be pleasantly (im)mature
... careful Douglas - thake that word and play with it an dyou will find a 6,7 & 8.
ganja I meant
Si's anyone? pretty please
I'm 39 on Sunday....
ch1212 - i am honored to be in the presence of true royalty, but then i believe every woman is a princess & every princess ought to own at least one tiara - we should have royalty day & wear our crowns while babbling
Oooh - yes. It was....
R O F L helenkeller!!

Right - any hints for the se9

LOL jbp -- good one!
Doctor Who? Brilliant - the cybermen are amazingly cool...and it's good to see Mickey being kinda useful (though I have a bad feeling about next week's on that corner). Knock out!
LOL kallia - those around me frown on that kind of behavior - however, they tolerate it on my birthday :)
i do what i can
well you sure spoilt my picture of you!!
si 5/12?
LOL

80 left, errands to run...... hope to be back soon, thanks all!
It's not there...(the se9 what I thought it was)

en 5/14 or en 6/24, anyone?
I logged off for a while...are things better now?
eu 6/24? I have the one that ends like the sleep disorder
Thanks, Tigereye.
en5/14 -> en + u return a library book that's d--
en 5/14 en + your library book is over*** en 6/24 plural
en6/24's the plural of en5/14
thanks burke and vpchat... they're making some of these up, right?
hi Douglas, seemed to get better just after I logged in though it was slow going at first!
i mean, i'm all for archaic spelling &ct.
afraid not jbp..
seems that way, jbp. I have 48 left, and I'm quite sure they're all made up.
back for more torture :) any clue for the cy 5/18 that doesn't involve 'sweet beer' because I simply did not understand that clue. Thank-you!
hiya
so can anyone help me with the tr 8 that's needed to get the tr 9?
en5/14 means to "endow" a trait upon something... or to put on a piece of clothing..
vp - there's an eu that's a greek playwright less the last couple of letters.... what's the sleep disorder?
Cy5/18 is more commonly spely with an i, still think beer
hello ch!
ch1212 --- has to do with an apple drink...spelled with the sometime vowel
apple cy***
amanda - when you stop breathing during the night, you have sleep a****
ch1212... little miss muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds & whey. along came a spider and sat down be cy+++ ...
hi again stidmama .. thanks tigereye, kkiln and misshoax -- got it!!
Sorry - got knocked offline. who needs what?
oh.. thanks for that Cy - I'd never in a million years have found it - I've never seen it spelled that way!
i hate this grid. full stop.
you actually want the tr 7/40, academian... think of a line in a song tr*-la-la + du 4/7
and jbp :)
thanks amanda - the greek playwright clue worked
King David said "Why does the Ark of God dwell in a tent, while I live in a palace of *****?"
Thanks stid - I saw that clue before but this time it clicked :)
ooo, nice one Douglas!
douglas...what one was that for?
thanks...
so vp - help me with the sleep disorder one, pleeeez?
c 5/14, jbp
THANKS Stidmama got all those tr's now, that was hard
course, you should know that
eu + sleep a****
is the sleep disorder an eu one, amanda?
amandacath. eu+ to urinate (1 letter) plus not far but **** remove the last letter
eupclos
ah, gotcha douglas
the other eu is eu + tear paper + vowel
Frank Zappa wrote a song with the lyric "Kiss my ****, Dora..."
thx, jbp - would have had to go to a2z for that one!
do you need a different clue for the eu amanda?
different word for close
i'm looking for the last 3 ra words... ra5/10, ra 6/21. ra 6/18...any hints???
Any hints for words from the upper left E?
does anyone have the se5/12?
ra5/10 : not to lower but to ra---
cu 5/14: Marie Cu*** discovered radium. cu 6/24: With husband Pierre, together the Cu**** labored for years. de 8/55: de+ cu 6/24
RA5/10 to lift something up, plus plural and past

okay, taking a break. later all!
the u's are killing me. i have a ur6/24, that's it.
i do my best - hi hursh!
oh my, forgot to change - what is today's theme?
how is it that I don't see these, but I got tr 8 and 9 fairly quickly??? what's wrong with my braaaaaaiiiinnn?
ur 6/24: ur + unfinished upper floor of house minus one doubled consonant
hurshy> ur + room in the uppermost level of the house missing one cross
I have 3 Up's a 4/10 a 5/22 and a 6/27 hurshy
yeah that is the one i have...
ok - anyone have a clue on the other tr 8, which doesn't become a tr 9?
burke stop reading my mind
thanks tiger
and the theme is something that represents the country you live in
weegee> i aim to please =)
there are 2 tr8 words
hmmm, how do i find an icon of stupidity?
du/8 wa/8 Help!!
wasn't that an indiana jones movie, hurshy?
lol
other tr 8 is plural of tr 7/40 that becomes tr8 with snake
wa 8 is a type of monkey
bilmster> there isn't a du8
i don't know my monkeys so well except for the typing kind
or, wa 8/65 is wa 6/33 + last part of Australian hopper
wa 8: is wa 6 + ending dbl vowel on australian hopping beast
wa8 : think of a kangaroo that likes to explore around.. also see wa6/33
weegee - i think that's the tr 8 i have - i have the one that's built into the tr 9 - am i missing something?
burke, excellent clue. Thanks!
how's about the first 2 re 5/12 words?
That explains it!!thanks but my wife is beating me for wasting her time!!!!!!!!!
academianut> both the tr8s are made from tr9 by removing a single letter from behind
ditto kaetchen for burke!
academiannut: think produce, producer, producers, produces
re5/12s : first 4 letters of a long 4 sided polygon.. + a vowel
wow. now i feel like a moron. thanks, weegee!
jbp: think anal prefixes, like on thermometer
I'm using Beany and Cecil as an icon, hurshy, because I'm protesting "Beany" not being accepted as a word!
both re5/12s are made in that fashion
thanks burke!
beanie?
I have 2 x D8, 2 x D8 and W8, what does the 6th start with?
np jbp =)
wow, weegee, i hope you don't use lines like that in public. ;-)
beanie isn't in the grid, but Beany is!
I mean 2 x d, 2 x t and 1 x w
jbp, sometimes when provoked lol!
but i mean is beany a word? i thought just beanie.
lol
so what other re 5/12 is there??
You may be right, but I still liked Beany and Cecil...
pi8/50 is missing
ok what's up with these d8's, this is the first mention i've heard of them.
what do you mean, burke?
jbp: try different vowels at end of anal prefix
jbp only those two...
My new favorite word - PIRATICS - it has something to do with what Dick Cheney does, but I haven't quite got the definition down...
it's the pi6 but plural
funny, amandacath.
Oh, sorry - forgot that word was in there singular... mea culpa
up 4/10 ?
ok, then i have them... now i need the re 5/14... and sadly, rectary won't happen....
burke, what finally got the pi for me was losing the beverage letter on the clues about illegal copying, and instead looking at the first letter of my log name.
jeffer> up5/22 without the vowel
thanks burke!
ahem, ahem, are the d8's very normal words, or weird?
ch1212> earlier today the clue given to me was the adverbial form of pi6/30
Got my 8's thanks :)
hurshy, weird words d8's. I gave clue for de one within last few minutes
hurshy, that depends on your vocabulary :) I certainly don't know what they mean
ok who keeps mixing up adjectives and adverbs?
the D8's are weird
hurshy... the da8 sounds like it belongs to rotary.
has anybody seen stid today?
hurshy> de8 means a squad of 10 men under a decurion
I'm lost on the pi's now, after my gaffe. How many are there?
stid was on briefly when the server was moody
daisy - I think stid logged out when we were having trouble earlier
amandacath 4
ok ty
hurshy, da 8 rhymes with batteries and includes da** word for information
uh burke? up 5/22?
this is the first chance I've had to babble in peace...s/o didn't have many calls today:(
hursh - de radon was discovered by de ******
i have to leave with 25 left... breaks my heart, but...well not really. See you fine folks on the morrow..
Up5/22 up + a farewell good***
jeffer> up5/22 up + opposite of hello
bye jbp -- thanks for all your wisdom!
ohhhh ty tigereye ty burke
I want inciser to be in the grid
jeffer> np =)
Must go vote. Last offer for clues
incisor
triady
That isn't in the grid either...
the se 5/12 still has me stumped...
pi's? I've got one yummy one and 2 buccaneer ones - the last one?
i know but it's spelled correctly
-lol- phantom word syndrome still striking victims?
Se5/12 the colour of old photographs?
ch1212> se5/12 -> se + mathematical symbol + vowel
that should do it, amandacath
oh groan. thanks burke (smack smack with the fish)
There are three buccaneer ones
ch1212> hitting your head isn't gonna give ya more clarity =)
yikes, tigereye is right. My new contact lenses are NOT as good as my old glasses :)
got 'em - thx all. It's been a long day here and my brain is slowing down quickly
LOL burke!
good babbling everyone, g'bye
"I've got ****s, that jingle, jangle, jingle..."
thanks weegee! bye

"As I go riding merrily along..."
Tr**** of Love in the night...
I've got 4 tr 5/21 -- which are you looking for?
Richard Hell had a song with the lyrics "Love comes in *****s, sometimes it hurts..."
I think you mean tr 6/21?
spades?
oh, dear, I can't count
three buccaneer words? I've got one. do the other two begin in the same way?
keep going douglas - I've got 3 more to find from that s...
more or less, academiannut
oh he's doing an s? which, the top?
bottom
I seem to recall a Saturday Night Live commercial for a beer you drink after electroshock therapy...
They differ at the fifth letter, Pi8/50, Pi6/30 and Pi 7/36
oh, i only need one from that s
hmm a2z doesn't list anything that would work.
ahhh- thanks tige
tr 7/32 that follows the second tr 8/55 - clue please?
That wouldn'T be the potato one, would it douglas?
Fedwren!
at least now i know what words douglas meant.

Or just google the definition: To cause humiliation or disgrace to by making malicious and false statements.
i'm fine too mamabear. when the school returned my call i made sure to point out that there was no way of knowing whether the names given were the actual students involved, and that they should check computers and compare to seating chart. i wish evanonut were here so i could tell her too.
ch1212> unfortunately i've not had the chance to watch rocky horror..
I do indeed. Badly.
there was a trace of rain today

Say, this is strange. I entered 221 words, the fireworks went off, but I still show 19/20 for the "R" second row. I refreshed and everything, and it is still there. I double checked lists with both lickety and brandjack, and I have all of them.
somebody pleeeezzzz tell me what the stupid os5 is
ty tigereye

Good evening all.

no, i ain't done
ullo, Haz! Do you know that when restlss in the midleof my night I get up and sneak a preview of the grid mainly to see what you are saying this time. I love te British chat--so elevating and enlightening
hurshy - ty got it.
Hey, all. If I can actually stay on without it freezing, I'm gonna try to finish my last 15.
Night, sandr. Happy dreams
Miss Hetty, I think perhaps Haz is busy searching. She hasn't responded to me yet either.
hetty - how nice to hear that. I'm actually typing this on my daughter's laptop - I'm across in Edinburgh to pick up her and her baggage for the summer hols.
thanx hursh! I'm having a fishwich.....
yummy
ch12ch12--I love the way you salute me. Sounds somehow southern---but I'm no belle!
And ch1212 - sorry to be slow - I'm not sure about the fireworks thing!
looking for a word list
seca
Well, some ladies lend themselves to that, Miss Hetty, and while we have not formally met on the log, you just seem to radiate a certain quality. :)
Haz, I envy you Edinburgh, such a beautiful city--and envy yiun too the access to your daughter. Mine are spread all over the world.
I would agree with that!
Haz, I will try to refresh once again and see what happens this time. It's rather disconcerting -- the fireworks assure me I'm done, but yet there is that missing 'r'... I'll be right back.
Edinburgh IS beautiful - it's where I went to university and where I met my husband, so it holds precious memories for me!
Close your eyes, hurshy...I'm gonna get the list because two of my kiddos need the computer for projects that are due tomorrow. Procrastination runs in the family.
lol smith
HAz, you are absolutely right - Edinburgh is beautiful :)
Hi all - back form my meeting an hour earlier then I thought -may get to finish this one yet! 58 to find!
ar 6/18 anyone?
ylleria - you are at an advantage in being here all the time, aren't you?
I don't think you were on thelog when I spoke of meeting my dear hsband at the University of Birmingham, ehere he stabbed me with a treasud rubber dagger ( hold on, in a play!) and dragged me to his lair.
It's still showing as missing one. Say, is anyone else who has finished still online? If so, would you look at your stats and let me know if you show the 'r' in the second row as 19/20 yet you have 221 words posted (and you received fireworks too?)

Stid, for finding good clues, I click on the archival chatline, then minimize it and refer to it from time to time when desperate. I also like to read it between head bashings--lots f goos gossip and entertaining banter.

eu6 sounds a bit like sleep ap***
Many Bible scholars engage in form and ******ion criticism
yw
ah ha! Thanks dl88!
TY une!

Except that ap*** is bad, while eu6 is good...
yw - krinstinc
as any greek scholar knows
Indeed, hurshy...
not that a- is always bad - just when what's a- is vital to your existence :)
I want "What is the sound of one hand clapping" to be in the grid...
lol
If my students did well on my final exam, they will have **** it.
re6/24s please?
Hullo Bonkler. If I were in a burning house, I'm sure you would re**** mne.

And by sbux gpw, nrkii means the Grand Prize Winner of the Ultimate Coffeehouse Crossword Challenge, the person who gets the money equivalent of one gourmet coffee/day for life.
Hi any clues for the ca6/21 please
musicmom, I have a total of zero tr 7 32s!
which tells me where my big weak spot is
JBsAnno, are you my jb?
ca6/21 = lugs - one consonant
*tosses chocolate, coffee, mochajavachocolatte and m&ms on my way through the log*
ca6/21 plural of picking something up and taking with you - one r in the middle
I don't know, Dougl//// *jumps mightily into the path of caffienated beverage and chocolates!
Thanks Stid - yummy!!!! Douglas - I want to win that prize!

Sorry 'bout that, Douglas, how ru** of me to break off conversation for the sake of some shnackies...
neither douglas nor I won, but we were graced with the surrounding presence of winners
but it's happy tummy time, thanks to stidmama!
You and many other people! Starbucks is jealously guarding that secret, with fierce wolverines guarding the locked desk with the folder containing the name of the winner
That sounds really nice, nrkii and Douglas! I don't do crosswords myself.... :-)
So, Douglas, how would I be "your" jb? Be nice, now!
rude
Hey, stid, did you see my profile? I updated the kitty saga last night.

LOL, great story JB! so glad they're "okay" and in good health for their ages.
stid, are you seeping in coffee these days?
wish I did, but all I stock at home is decaf... and usually drink tea in the daytime.
drinking a starbucks double shot right now.\
JBsAnno, there is someone named jb who is a regular commenter at Crossword Bebop, and a regular competitor in the Daily Set Puzzle challenge. When nrkii showed up, I thought it was a happy coincidence that three of the Crossword Bebop Daily Set Puzzle team had showed up at Babble. But alas, I was wrong.
i LOVE set
How many words do you have?
douglas, 221 so far for me * 67 to go! haven't gone to the lickety split list for help yet
Right now, I'm at 90. I'm quitting at 100, because of WTMSTT (see previous post!)
Now let's go on to something *****... Wankel Rotary Engines...
My dad and I had a "coffee date" today -- I try to see him once a week and he often takes me to a coffee shop while we run errands.
JB, you're doing really well!
How sweet, Douglas, that would have been fun!
Stid that sounds like fun. I love coffeehouses
Debra Hamel has the best time I know of on the Set Puzzle...0:30...
<grins> Thanks, stidmama!
Douglas, this really has a ring to it: Crossword Bebop Daily Set Puzzle
I have been playing set again -- but I am way out of practice. my best time in the last few days was about two minutes...
hmmm, i only have done it to relax, now i'll have to try for speed.
i think my fastest so far was 47?
It does exist! It's not just a rumor! The sun finally came out at 7pm after not showing its face for almost 2 weeks. Just in time for the baby to go to bed. Maybe we will be able to play outside tomorrow!!!!
my fastest so far was 57 or so
Okay, 10 words to go, and hungry kitties are getting more demanding!
minski, you in boston area?
We've had quite a bit of discussion about strategy, occasionally diverting into Zen Buddhism along the way...
Minski, that is wonderful! now maybe you'll start to dry out!
oh, yep, just read your profile
minsky... I just saw the sun too, so I looked at your profile.. where North of Boston are you? I'm in Beverly...
Minski, I'm from Exeter, NH, my parents are still there. Did you and yours get wet?
where are ya? I lived in Andover for 2 years, and have friends in surrounding towns.
look at all those missing "R"s in the babble group!
**** Goldberg was famous for his fantastic inventions...
I need to call them to see if they stayed dry. They live about 500 feet from the canals for the backwash of the Great Bay in NH.
Hurshy - do you have the third tr7/32? I am stuck.

Are you using the list, nrkii
list! pah!
I'm using the tile stats that show how many words come from each tile, yes
I'm not yet using the licketysplit list
go nrkii!
Good afternoon, anyone have a clue for pi6/30
not that there's anything wrong with that...
I usually try to do 1/3 without the tiles at all, then another 1/3 without the lickety list, then I finish up with the lickety list
LOL, hursh - glory in your listlessness! Or your unlistedness! Or your...oh, never mind, I know you have fun without the list!
and when I'm doing the first 1/3, I TRY not to look at the chat, but I sometimes can't help myself
marc, you're inigo, i'm westley, end of the movie - "have you ever considered pi6?"
Marc--- the act of robbery on the high seas
That list definitely helps...as well as the Babblers Anonymous list
... waht do you guys mean by 6/30 and 7/32???
Oops, you guys almost caught me typing a word in the chat log. Wrong box!
Great now I cannot find the tr 5/12 after Anne's gallavanting
I find that the last piece gets grueling and I don't have much fun without licketysplits help
Thanks got it
well of course it HELPS, but do you want to have a LIFE, or do you want to BABBLE?????
is that the group of 3 one?
Come, men, who plow the sea, Truce to navigation, Take another station, Let's vary ******, With a little burglary
tr 5/12
LIFE please
LOL, hursh, and Douglas!
no before the group of 3, change last letter on group of 3 to get it.
ooh hurshy, you're goooooood
ok hurshy, that's not the first time i've seen a princess bride reference here! that was my FAVORITE movie in high school...so much so that i held up a tape recorder to the tv to record the audio to listen to at night before bed
nrkii -- I have not idea. There is a 5/12,6/21,5/12 set before a 5/10 which is the effort I'm giving this puzzle
i used to be able to run through the entire movie in my head on car trips
So, featherbee, I hope you have an MP3 player now, yes? Time to upgrade!
musicmom, the 5/12 just before your effort is the group of 3
lmao, yeah, that was back in the 80s mind you
or 90s, whenever the movie was first out on tape
That would be a great theme...Princess Bride...
what are you guys referring to when you use those numbers?????? So confused :S
featherbee i sat in front of the tv for 2 days so i could type up the script myself :)
Oh I Get it!!! thanks. Sheesh these last words are kicking me in the BUTT!!
i will tell babbler princess bride day
YAY!!!!! I'm not the only obsessed one!!!!
chrissie, tr 5/12 means it's a 5 letter word that is worth 12 points
princess bride is the best movie ever made, in many ways
for the record, i have made princess bride references here before :)
twoo!
oh! okay thanks, but how do you guys know there is one worth five points??
HELLO, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die
i know, the first one i saw was for pata*****
"STOP SAYING THAT!!!!"
chrissie, click on the link to lickety's babble clues in a new window
anybody want a peanut?
lmao nrkii
hi all, down to 26 and my head hurts
i had a hard time translating some of andre the giant's lines with his accent
In The Mikado, the Mikado sings... The lady who dyes a chemical yellow Or stains her gray hair **** Or pinches her figure, is painted with vigor With permanent walnut juice!
http://fringe.davesource.com/Fringe/En tertainment/Scripts/The_Princess_Bride .html
FranMag, now your hibiscus is visible to all.
featherbee, saw your comment about Princess Bride, i always list it as my favorite move of all time
Fezzig, are there rocks ahead? If there are, we'll all be dead!
thanks bonkler, ive never seen that
there you go hurshy, two days, two seconds! what a different age it is now from then
oh no, now I'm on a roll....
yay fran!
you've beaten my giant, which means you're exceptionally strong, so you could have put the poison into your own goblet, trusting on your strength to save you, so i can clearly not choose the wine in front of you...BUT you've also bested my spaniard, which means you've studied, and in studying, you would have learned that man is mortal, so you would have put the poison as far from yourself as possible, so i can clearly not choose the wine in front of me!
*tosses back last of mochajavachocolatte, munches on last M&M's* (note to self, rent that movie...) Good night, Babblers all! I have to go now, but I don't regret that I only got 95 words (126 left), because I usually don't tackle grids bigger than 150 on weekdays. Have fun!!!
cy5/16? 40 to go and i am becoming pudding between the ears
night jb!
Add a vowel to you color cy4
hurshy i saw that movie last night!
You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Ha ha ha--
thanks inge, i still can't see it in my browser!
You and me both bonkler. 8 more and I'm seriously considering giving up. I'm seeing nothing
good for you scribble! :)
*thud*
lmao
Ok - I'm done -have the same problem as I have seen reported earlier -Had the fireworks but stats say I have one r, from the right of the grid still to to find!Goodnight all - must go to bed now as 5 lilltle ones will arrive in 7 hours expecting a happy smiling grandparent. Happy Babbling

anyone have a clue for be5/18?
first re6/24?
I just love the chatter. Keep it up!
thank you!
i used to be in marching band, twirled flag...we also had sabers to twirl...well a friend of mine and i often did the sword fight scene together, and i had the clinks of the swords running in my head!
yeah hursh scribbled is my friend scott and scribner is my friend austin.
Does anyone have the UP6/27?
fran, it's from Elton John, BE*** and the jets
I just found what they make tofu out of...
re6/24 --- color +what you do in a play
oh ok, as long as someone isn't stalking you.
um, that's kinda personal minski, don't you think?
up 6" up + da 4
nope! :)
up+da4 (the sharp pointy one)
inge, that is a word?
Dougs, one day you and I should conduct a chat \entirely in the words of W.S.Gilbert
si5/12?
I never question the meaning of a word, if they are in the grid I type them in,
There seem to be quite a few G&S words in today's grid...
douglas, what do they make tofu out of?
or like they did at that life and death brigade party - no words that contain the letter e!
oh, got it
silly me, I knew that!
apparently it's a personal one......sorry to offend hurshy...........i'm feeling giddy the sun just appeared for the 1st time in 2 weeks just in time for a beautiful sunset.
found a new icon!
hurshy, a GG reference?
minski, TOTALLY kidding, hurshy getting very silly now, ignore me
the TRs are ridiculous!!
I thought so H. No prob.
it's in the high thirties (Celciuse ) here for the past two days. i got a sun burn today
thanks nrkii! didn't think that would be allowed!
YES they are!!! I'm still stuck on the one after the 3 set
(i hope i can find my otter again later)
I'm feeling giddy too. The sun does that to me.
yes nrkii! :)
brb, baby wants attention
Chrisssie 2006, where are you if it is above 90 degrees.???
all I can say is, I'm sad about how the season ended (and for that matter, most of how the season went)
really, i thought it was a very interesting and enjoyable season - yes, the end was distressing, but i'm sure she and luke will work it out!!!!
Alberta, Canada..... I have no idea how to convert celsius to degrees :S
It's 56 degrees fareignheit here at almost 8pm. It hasn't been above 60 for over 2 weeks. It's supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow!!!! And SUNNY!!!
nrkii: I agree...but I loved the Mrs Kim episode during Laine's wedding!
last re4?
can some one blow the sun in this direction
lol, mrs. kim was a riot!
mrs kim is the best!
whats 56 in celsuis???
re+form of to be
si5/12 or tr6/21?
Sorry I'm losing it a bit. It's been raining for 2 weeks here. Rivers are flooding, dams are in danger, basements are flooded, entire neighborhoods have been evacuated.
celsius to fahrenheit, multiply by 9/5 and add 32, fahrenheit to celsius, subtract 32 and mult by 5/9
chrissie must be a youn'un as we older canuckleheads can's convert farenheit to celsius
I havnt watched GG in forever....
about 15 degrees Celsius
lol, just shy of being legal :)
Im almost 18
I want intruders to be in the grid
cheers hurshy i never knew how to convert
where are you from bonkler?
i'm nearly 45 and i didn't know either
lol
18 i remember 18 lol. that was in the late '70s
I tell my children that **** in "The Lion King" is like Claudius in Hamlet
i never remember the rule i have to figure it out from scratch every time using the boiling point of water.
a long time ago when we had fun
i'm in damp, dreary, chilly ontario

i'm in damp, cold Oxford
I spent my afternoon out side, I couldnt bring myself to go to school when its so gorgeouse out
musicmom, there are a few tr 6/21s
MAN i would love to live in oxford
who wants a malteser
It's almost time for American Idol to start. See you in an hour or so.
the last one is the most obscure
oh oh malteser...yum
It's the one after the set of 3. I'm really getting frustrated. There is this whole group of them in the middle that I just cannot noodle out
oh golly thanks for reminding me minski!!!
no you wouldn't, you can't park, the pavements are so small you end up dodging the traffic
Ah, now there's a person with a sense of priority
scatty -- pavement = sidewalk?
Haven't they ever heard of the Magna Carta?!?
SMF, are you sure you don't need the ones before group of 3 - where you change the last letter of group of 3?
after set of 3, go for fish, rhymes with when fruit is ready to eat
my husband refuses to shop there
pubs are good though, full of students
is there a 5/12 before the group of three after Anne's walking?
yes
I've got the vacation and the fish and everything following that.
take group of 3, and move last letter down by 1
yes SMF see my clue 6:55
Okay thanks! Got it now. 6 more --- the last 8 are taking hours!!!!
i actually watched two episodes of american idol. which reminded me of the tr5 word to do with the lining of a cows stomach. i just don't get the "reality" show thing
ok sidewalks, i was trying to give a clue for speed limits the other day and they couldn't get it
hey wb stid
i'm at 80
featherbee, it gets better
I have 54 left to go
I think I'm going to have to list it now
Thanks, bonkler, for the cows stomach thing...I think I just lost my appetite...

makes it REALLY hard to concentrate!
bad boys bad boys, whatcha gonna do...
cy has the same ending as the b 6/27
sorry musicmum
i think i'm going to call the grid the victor with 38 left. eyes are starting to cross
I cant think well enough today for this. Im out. See you guys
My teenaged daughter thought Simon was actually being helpful in doing these poor deluded souls a favor by disillusioning them of their chances for a musical career, given their currently level of skill...
lol
frustration is running amok here
bye chrissie
do you need any clues musicmum
I refuse to quit with only six left.
scatty, i had that one, the cy5/16 is the one i don't have

oops, sorry. I haven't figured out the number system yet
sc 5/16 is sc+ 1st vowel+last vowel+letter before q
i did not know that jaynesgirl
Its Susie Q! I see you :)
Whew finally greyed that lower s
bettina, open the link for lickety's babble clues in a separate window and all will be clear
Yup.
Thanks scatty --- maybe I can find the rest of the sc's from here.
the last sc5 has a hook on the end and the sc 6 is the pl of the one you have just got
thanks!
You can tell how old someone by that statement...older people would be more likely to say that Norah Jones is Ravi Shankar's daughter, while younger people would be more likely to say that Ravi Shankar is Norah Jones's father...
A team that hasn't won a World Series since 1908 is one of the words...
okay, up 4/10 is a stupid word
Hello everybody! Douglas... I agree w/Shankar reference... like hearing someone's teenager describe the Beatles as the band Paul McCartny was in before Wings...

oh, i got that. thanks franmag
Gahhhh, can someone give me a hint on the se5? I'm going mad, here.
soy one of the tr 7/32s sort of means to frolic, tr***** through the flowers
first two sp5's?
sarcasticah: think old photographs, the colour
sarcasticah, it's a color, what soy said
Oh, duh, I was looking at the wrong s! Thank you!
well what someone told me. What office help you have, less the re. se+

umm..
Angel I don't have the first 2 sp's sorry Hon.
fran mag, i'm having problems, can i have another tr 7/32 'frollicing' clue?

tr+ a road **, plural, and what you can eat, plural

The other sp5 just has a different vowel
tr 7/32 sounds like tr + gorillas
tr 7: tr plus gorillas with an i stuck in the middle
ah, thanks dawn
mab, franmag, smazing, you all rock! thank you
can anyone tell me how many tr's there are?

second one is more ra4/7
whats ra6/21 amidst all the competition?
er...
oh, its a different one
as in that outfit was ra**** than the other
aaaa
ah! i kept trying to pluralize it
what do the tile stats and words stats mean ?
thanks!
i'll do this
go smazing!
is there a di 7?
say 0/13 for 4, you need to find 13 words with r.
rgb, tile stats correspond to each box in the grid. they tell you how many words start from each letter
nevermind
no abe
word stats tell you how many words of each length there are
and if someone says they need a lcue for a ic 4/5, the four is how many letters and the 5 is the points.
rgb - at the bottom of the page go to Angelsongs Resource Page and it will give you all the info on how to play plus you can get a 2 letter word list. Licketys list.
hope that helps. my typing is slow today.
brb, baby pooped!
Frans changing a poopie diaper *teehee* glad its not me.
i'm back, couldn't sleep
well, i am giving up. night all. thanks for entertaining me. i'll let the tube do that now. i am going to veg on the couch with my bumps and bruises.

re5/12?
lots and lots of morphine
Scatty - Lord have mercy I know about needing the sun. I have SADD really bad.
You must be riped LOL
recua
do't know what tat is?
soy, re5/12 both sound like beginning of a four-sided shape
Me finished .....heck no
didn't think prefixes were allowed, but that's what they look like
yay thanks!
SADD??
the trouble is i'm not, too used to them now and can't up the dose as i'm on 520mg a day
yes
it rained for 40 days straight last month and i was getting close to getting SADD i think
actually it is SAD Seasonal Affective Disorder
got it
i think the extra D stands for something also
It is horrible. I need to see the sunlight and it is recommened to go to a tanner,,,,but I'm afraid of skin cancer.
ca 6?
wen the sun is here my back isn't too bad but the damp and cold puts me in a wheelchair
I do to Fran but not sure what it is.
ca 6: another word for dental disease
you beat me stid!!
ca 6 - something that gives you toothache.
Disphoric maybe?
my sister and mum both died of cancer, different kinds, plus i don't like the enclosed ones, i can't breath in them
Dang Scatty I didn't realize it was to that point. Lady you need to take care of yourself. Don't be stooping and planting flowers.
oh scatty, that is terrible. I also need a certain amount of sunlight - - or at least bright light. Skylights in my home office and the kitchen help
Fran it could be....I gotta go Google it and see
Seasonal Affetive Disorder Depression
messing about in the greenhouse keeps me sain, i don't get out and about much and all my friends work
thanks tanga and stidmama
So Fran you were right there really is another D in it.
brb, snack break
My garden does that for me too scatty -- didn't get to work in it today as it was too hot by the time I got home... tomorrow morning though, I have a date with the weeds!
i'm feeling so dense tonight, asking for help on the small ones...ro 5/12 please?
and what does the other D stand for?
Does anyone have the 2 EU6/24s please?
it was on the news when we had all that rain, just forgot what it stood for
hoopdedo, I'm done. Who is it does the dance of doneness? Well I join her--at least I would if my back didn't hurt. So--how can be of use to anyone still banging away at thye grid?
oh -- nvm I see you typed it in already!
Stid - thats what I did most of the afternoon. Pulled weeds and put down preen.
YAY Hetty! *dance dance*
yay hetty!
CONGRATULATIONS HETTY!!!!!
what is preen?
ro5/12 past tense of 4/4 just above it.
yeah hetty
ro 5/12, past tense of ro4/4
ro 5/12?
yay hetty
lol, thanks fran, didn't know you were typing it
the celebration got in the way for a sec!
Stid, are you done too, despite the wonky website? Splendid.
ok, that's a past tense i never would have thought of
Does anyone have the 2 EU6/24s please? Dont mean to repeat myself but htings ar emoving fast around here.
no -- 77 words left, have been doing other web things this afternoon and just check in here when things slow down elsewhere. Not sure I'll finish today.
eu+end of disorder sleep a****
Minski I don't have them sorr.
eu+tear+another vowel
Fran excellent clues...I got both now.
brb, snack break
Minski, these re hard ones to get. the first is eu followed by an acronym of "neap" as in tide, and ends with the vowels. Thesecond is a famour Greek playwright without his last letter
Thanks FranMag.
thanks for 2nd eu
and hetty......
I need the ca 6/21 please..
name of prom horror film, plural, minus a consonant
Hi, haven't played since they've redone the site. Just one question -- is there any way to turn chat off like the old board? every time someone posts a new message and the ping comes, the board flashes. hard to concentrate. sorry, I love conversation, but I can't see. thanks for the help!
The ca6/21 (stid, I'd love to help if i can Give me a list.) is the medical term for bad breath--tooth decay
ann, i've done it by resizing the window
Thanks Abe :) got it
any o words?
yw
ann the only thing you can do is shrink the page
Fran, so if I make my browser window smaller? that will help?
ann - i have icons that hide chat
that's what i do occasionally
or click the right hand corner bubble
also, turn off sound
deef are you asking for O words? 05/10 is a seller of stockings without his "h" for starters
Ann you can also just switch to Who's Online or MY Friends.
Wow, lots of help here. Thank you guys! I will try them all ... appreciate the help everyone!!!
woo, got one of the 9 letter ones!
goodness, thx hetty
yay featherbee
hi everybody! babble has SOUND?
babble has sound? where?
hi TO, didn't know that either
Other "o"s: o4/ take housework and knock off the "ch"; o4/6 think of a famous afrench star of the ilent screen named Charles B****, an d you have it (also a an s for plural) The last one o4/6 is what the town crier says with an s instead of a z
i just picked it up from the log...i never play with sound on...can anyone confirm?
Down to 4 8's Help anyone? de8,55 - da8,45 - pi8,50 - tr8,55
Hi TO - I thought the same thing but didn't say it LOL. I've never heard a ding or bing or anything.
My speakers are on all the time but I don't have any sound for Babble ???

de8/55: pluralize madame C**** after the de; oops beaten to it.
See ya tomorrow TO :)
bye TO
ca6/21-tooth cavities; rhymes w/ 1st astrological sign
we,5 = short for jennifer, diff begining
yay scatty! i can't beileve i missed that combination
holy cats, look at all those TRs......
pi8/50, plural of what buccaneers do on the high seas
featherbee alot of the tr's follow on from each other
tr8/55s all build off tr7/40, sounds like when you intr***** yourself to someone
good one fran
i stole it scatty!
da8 you take the word for info and add the ending you wouold give if it were "Diary"; pi8is the plural of pi6/30; tr8 is the third person sing of the verb to "tr****" which you have as tr7/40
i do that as well
well, i've got 20 out of 27 of them, so not too bad to start with...it was fun making sure i checked off the right ones though!
some of the words i just let other people try to explain
featherbee, have you got the tr 7/32
that was a challenge for sure
the plural of hte 6/21? yes
or the fun walk one?
no the tr = tr+1st vowel+3rd vowel+letter before q+ snake+2nd vowel
yeah, that was the fun walk one!
least to me
featherbee, the TRs i had trouble with were after the fun walk, they all start like groups of three
down to 2 left of the TRs
i thought of a circus high flyer as a clue earlier but changed my mind
fran, i think i have those
do you guys have the TR that is a sheep
go featherbee!
hetty-finally got da 8/45, thx to your clue :)
whoops *sheep's stomach*
Down to 2, the tr8 and the da8
plural of the tr7/40
or add a vowel and a hook
Thanks Scatty, down to 1, the da8, sorry Hetty, don't understand your clue for that one
i'm missing the tr 5/12, i think it's the one after the fun walk...
de 8, de + indian food _ one r
da8 is da4/5 meaning information plus end of ca6/21
featherbee, take group of three and change ending consonant
then plural
ahhh, got it, ty
tr5/12-to exchange
featherbee - tr+3rd vowel+ 1st vowel+4th letter of the alphabet
Thankx FranMaq, that did it. I've got ****FIREWORKS*******

thanks scatty!
night scatty! i'm a tryin!
why doesn't piratise work? If they can privatise the railroad, and privatise health care, why can't I piratise the internet?
I think that the -ise ending lends it respectability- -cy words imply something wrong, like lunacy and pi****
sc5/16?

soy - the dictionary never lies
perhaps an oxygen overdose is when it blows up
like... oxygen + fart or something
Been working off and on all day. Hubby doesn't like my babbling. Says it takes up too much time and that I spend more time babbling than he does with his stupid military killing people computer games. I say I spend the entire day with a baby and need babble to preserve what's left of my sanity.
soy - es + prince wrote a song about one
es5/12 is the first part of french word for snail.
amen minski.
haha i took a giant guess... didnt know prince wrote a song about a vroom vroom
It is so hard to be home with a little one all day -- I would have given my firstborn for anything like Babble in those days... (course if I had done that, I wouldn't have needed Babble...) LOL

Disney World and all its fancy parks has nothing on Disneyland... though we are having quite a good time
re5/18 anyone? I feel like I should have foudn it by now.
i used to work at disney world
I sent a message applauding all united babblers and it disapeared into the ether. Night, and sleep well
glad to hear it. disneyland is the original and should be better.
my dad worked at disneyland twice dax. what did you do there?
i was at disney world but i was a photographer
knutmeg, to substitute a voice...again.
Hi, knutmeg--my last good deed of the day comng up
good night hetty, see you tomorrow!
hi knutmeg! no work tonight?
Any clues on the TR's? That's where I'm short.
finished work at 9 tonight. spend a bit with my husband, now racing to the finish. only 68 to go! :-)
well, i'm seriously jealous of everyone who's been there recently. I haven't been to the Land since '95 and never to DW
re5/18 is a repeated action. If you were queen and I bowed before you , you could ***me a knight
the best clue is that once you find one... the others kind of jump out at ya,,,, at least the groups of words do
Specifically, the TR 6/21, 7/40, 8/55, 9/72.
Oh, Hetty, thanks!!!
well, there's 16 TRAs
LOL knutmeg, 67 here, but not racing...
DW is really starting to grow. with all the new rides. they are trying to compete with universal. which they have a long way to go
I need one of the sp 5/12 at the beginning, have the one that sounds like the sp 5 at the end...
Kenny, the tr6/21 (there are 2 but the root is the same) builds from tr5/12. If you ave that you can add two endings easily enough.
tr6/21 plural for intestines for eating - yuck
we want to take our kids this year before my daughter starts kindergarten, but it's looking like it'll have to wait a little longer. money doesn't seem to be growing on that money tree in the yard
i left there about 7 months ago... and honestly i don't miss a thing about orlando
Re: Bush's new immigration policy (was just subjected to it) -- all immigrants must "speak proper english" -- thus requiring them to have superior language skills to th presint of the us...
any hints on tr7/32?
i got tr5/12 and tr8/55
just stuck on that one
Got the TR6/21, but thanks
stid, sp5/12 sounds like a long pointe stick
tr7/32someone who exchanges - plural
ty Fran!
then the tr7 and 2 tr 8 's nd tr9 are all connected. You need a word that means to vilify--badmouth. It stts like the one you have, but after the 4th letter it veers off to an upsid down hump, a c, and a second vowel
yw stidmama
Need only one more... se 9/60. Any help?
on the TRs, lots of suffices - er, ed, ers, s
tr7/32 - think of a tr word for snare and add the dotted vowel after the 3rd letter then add first 2 letter of 3 letter work for look/vision.
se 9/60 has to do with religion, but it sounds like the ladies in an office minus the first re
ta5/14?
Jingus se 9 is almost an administrative assistant - alternate clue - religious group meets 1st zodiac sign
soy, a color, bland brown
tr8/55-almost rhymes w/ makers of movies-pr*******
stocking color
soy, a color
tr7/32hqs been called a silly or fun walk. It's a term my gran used for trollops as they wandered down the high street. "tr" followed by first vowel, then add Latin for "such"
I'm offf to bed; thus ending mu first official attempt at babbling. Finishing with a sad 78 words. I have a long way to go before I can join the ranks. Night!
Dianne, thanks. I have that one already. Hetty, I'm not getting it. I think I'm too tired...

it is, but it's not in this grid
alicia, go to angelsong's babble page, see link below and you'll see what this is all about
haha okay thanks
don't worry soy, i'm ready with clues!
sorry. CMYK + 4 colors in printing: cy**, magenta, yellow, and black--I don't know why K stands for black, but after many years in the printing industry, it seems that nobody really knows...
ok, that was fast. they chose a thanksgiving book for me to read them. :)
at least, noone will tell me...
I survived the Ts!
you finished all the Ts?
yup :)
lib - it's because in coding when two words start with the same letter (a la blue and black), you try and use identifying letters other than the first for BOTH of them, thus not confusing the user. This is why B is not used, bue blue is referred to as c*** and black is abbreviated with K.
woo hoo!
Stuck like a pig in molasses here, folks. Time for bed. Down to 25, and that's as good as it's going to get today. G'night.
wowie kenny - you're a regular 'cylcopedia - Kennypedia?
Good night Kenny Chuck!
