flip!
good evening bgood! you're up late!
flip caught me by surprise there, wasn't watching the time!
so what was the silk word?
ahhhh. 153 words. I can handle this!
i'm up late too
doupioni
yes - way past bedtime just to be able to flip...
you sure are hurshy -- has vacation started for you yet?
hi stid
ahh, i was trying dupioni thanks to google!
yup :)
alright, now we just need another of those 47 word days here soon..
that's nice, hurshy. hope you're sleeping in and taking it easy.
hi everyone!
yes, I kept thinking that early on, but finally someone said something about putting an o in ...
hi star
buon giorno star!
fliperoo
I like the shirt! :-)
hi hetty! flip out!
It's funny
flipt-- yay, small puzzle!
okay, I flipped, and now I am going to sleep. buona notte, gute nacht, laila tov, bon nuit, buenas noches, nachvamdis, good night!
i'm back :)
good night all - will be back tomorrow!
nite, stid
wow! I'm here at the flip for once!
going so soon stid?
good night stid.
good nite then
buona notte!
good night helen, atalante, I am beat. see you all tomorrow, I hope!
oggy -- will you be playing while you are on vacation?
nice attire, helen
good night sweet princes, may flights of angels wing you to your rest
lib - love your icon - i have 1 shaker left - 'lost' the other in a move :(( - they're sooo cute!
I must change...
"stidma" is in the grid...
no way! where?
hursh? hi! you're up late !
yes, it's summer vacation i can do whatever i want now
that's too funny! LOL and good night for real! *poof*
yes stid, not going anywhere.
lib - why change?
hey hurshy :)
not found, but fell for it!
hi ata :) now i can actually race ya :)
except that i'm all slow cause i'm tired
I thought too show-bizzy, but since you like...;)
you look so sleek, helen
uh oh! well, I'm half asleep too. its 6:15am!
good then we're even :)
hiya!
hi, melon
hiya melon - how you doing today?
purty good. ran errands on my bicycle.
exercise - always good
ah well, I had 3 to go on the last one...howdy all!
half done
zowie hurshy i can't even type that fast!
you think I should start rather than faffing around thinking about starting?
and that's with me being slow cause i'm tired :)
lol, you're supposed to be RACING
last one - weird spelling for dupioni - i even know that word, having sewn with i - also known as shantung
faffing?
gee, hurshy... :o|
had to give you a h***start :P
LOW blow
:)
got he 4/6 tho :)
there's a fish in there! (a real fish, not a fishy word)
D 7/36
i've found a lot of words i don't know so i may have the fish :)
ooh, got it--dr***** measures
you probably do :) when you've finished, I'll tell you which it is!
ty chic :))
ewwwwwwww! my least favorite vegetable!
& my favorite fat!
ty, melon-- my least favorite too :( eew
2 kinds of fish
sprouts? can't see those in the grid! yukky vegetables
'snot my favorite (heh heh)
nor broccoli
not sprouts. pods.
i like all veggie, except cooked carrots
acty
peas? nope can't see them either. or beans! broad beans ewwwwwwwww
I'm w/ you helen, but I choke 'em down...
can't find the fish, but found snowman...
more & more lib - we have soo much in common :)
i think doaeee is a word, no?
think so, helen :-)
hey keir, if cooee counts, so should yours :)
hk - great minds.... ;), now ok 4/9????
no kidding, i couldn't believe that one helen
i was thinking band of brothers "curahee!'
if you hear a dove are you the co____?
finally found the veggie
100
rhymes w/ pig call?
i wonder when sprite will come in and sprite me
yup
lib, the veg -no
Hi everyone
hello judy
she'll wait till you have 14 left
very good hurshy
I meant recipient of dove call, helen lolol
she'll be waiting a while then
hurshy!
but I'm stumped on veg...
just uploaded my childhood picture and wanted to see what it looked like.
oh damn - didn't even see that before i made my comment earlier - this is what an excellent massage & xanax produce :)
Yup, it's me
hi mab
judy, you're so cute! what a good idea.
oh, THAT awful veg! bleeaahh!
I get some of my best ideas when I can't sleep
hi everyone
mab - we chose the same icons yesterday !! :)
is it brussels sprouts?
worse, ma!
I sort of love these little composition books.
I mean worse than brussels sprouts, mab
there is nothing worse than brussel's sprouts
me too - found memories :)
liver ... liver is worse than brussels sprouts
i love brussel sprouts -s ome fried up bread crumbs on top - delish
but liver isn't a veg
i like brussell sprouts - boiled with balsamic vinegar.
I actually love brussels sprouts--cute tiny cabbages
liver, kidney, sprouts and celery. all hell on earth!
I LOVE Brussell sprouts. Especially great with blue cheese dressing on them while hot , yum!
i love liver too!!
i dislike all of those things and i'm allergic to celery too.
yay mab!
you're right, mab, liver is not a veg - missed that part of the discussion...sorry
liba, that's what my mom called them - baby cabbages.
hey kiersten and john, are you still on?
lol, melon!
well, judy, I did say sprouts were worse than anything without specifying veg. my mistake really.
will the real nasty veggie please stand up?
luckily there's a nice veg in there to blaance all this talk of sprouts
mab the absolute worst veg is in this grid. even my kids, who eat eggplant willingly, won't get near this.hint: "OK, Ray, they're yucky, but you gotta ea them!"
latest drawing thingy if anyone's interested: http://www.deviantart.com/view/3403676 7/
if you put cheese on them it really enhances the flavor and makes them more paletable for those vegie haters
nice veg? hint? i'm stuck @ 50
thanks atalante. does everyone mean that little old o4 veg?
Atalante - you drew that? good site, too
yup and yup :)
arrrrgh, almost hegemony
morning all! how does this grid fare?
39 left here dippnall
Atalante - beautiful - looks celtic inspired. colored pencil?
the A's are a bit troublesome though
wow!
acme
acid
acts
well, maybe not for you...
sorry sorry sorry
haha
you should've focussed on the top A for me dippnall
here's a hint: shortened thighbone
thx - got those
fema
nobody's mentioning the long words they find like the old tradition - is that cause nobody's finding any (except the dr7?)
yes, pencil ... I'll be doing a bigger version in gouache at some point!
helen!
goldmine :D
haven't found a long one
there are long words? where???!!
i only found two 6's so far (and that d7)
ed7/44
co6/27
6's are just long enough to be annoying, not long enough to brag about
lol hurshy
that's true for me Hursh, haven't found any more big words yet...
fema is not found-- that's nothing new! :-|
ed7 - that's my missing e!
he8
ed7 ends in ci4/7
well i tried "headcity" but that didn't work
ed 7/44 - a Tennessee Williams word for greed - minus Minnesota.
hurshy used a word :):)
see, i know SOMETHING would end in that!
it doesn't count if it's part of a longer word!
he he :)
helen, still here?
wow hurshy. thanks! i was missing one of those! lol!
yep - still here
yay, got the he8!
woot!
that leaves one more H...
hint for the 8?
which end of the bed are the pillows at? the he8 end!
wait wait i think i got it!!!!
yup!
hmph. they should have "hadme". you hadme at hello
helen, must tell you how xana almost ruined my life, but not in chat -- I had a severe back injury
well, xanax
beautiful, atalante. It feels like it is ready to burst - for all to go the the ways in the poem, ripe. must read that book.
thank you :D you should read the book - its beautiful. sad, but beautiful
I love that site too
ok - willing to listen - actually i' ve been meaning to write to dr-g to see if we could have private chat - like many other game sites
good golly every vowel but the right one so i can't get armada.
and so do I - spend half my days there sometimes!
i keep seeing armada too hurshy
perhaps the plyral should be armadi?
I tried that word too
hurshy are you playing woulda-coulda-shoulda Babble? i want hematocrit.
yeah, i thought it should be armadi
good idea, helen-- could post email addys to certain people
(alternatively, armadi could be a nice suit, if you have a cold)
lol hursh!
(armani, hurshy)
maybe lickety should add most common phantom words to his stats list
oh, i get it.
a cold mab, a cold
it's late
lib - if you want to reach me- i have e-mail at helenkeller@mychi.com - it is not one i check very often, but i will if i know to expect something - i take it because hotflashes have prevented me from getting solid nite's sleep for weeks now
yes, it is
Good night guys and gals getting crosseyed.
night judy, sleep well.
will email you helen-- I now take something effective and non-addictive for sleep, but doesn't help the hots...
i dont use it often at all - too much of a kick
that's why i don't use my donkey often
but i am up every 1/2 hour to 45 minutes, either soaked through sweating or freezing - sigh
hursh - uh, graoannnnn
that' good helen-- I did before they knew & go way hooked--it has a very short half lfe
oh hurshy! :-D
hey i thought that was a good one for 2 in the morning
hurshy :OD
either my fingers or keyboard are going south
see helen, SOME people like me
i was hoping to get to afway - but i'm nodding out @ the keybroad
yeah lib - that's one of the tinghs that keep me from not overdoing it 1. i don't like the groggy feeling 2. it frightens me that it's physically addicitve, if it were nonlypsychologically additive, that might be easier to swallow - but i saw trainspotting (i'm sure it wouldn't be that bad, but still....)
too bad tsoros/tsores isn't here. we have lots of that going around.
30 left here!
i spell it tsouris
well, I loved the blessed relief from back spasms
ppl might like to be aware there is an oo6/27
I took it for 15 years by prescription
omg - that's a really long time !!!
i've been taking vicodin for hip pain & it's really hard to quit that!
now what on earth else can come from that o that can't come from any other o???
yep, I decide to stop taking it and ended up in he hospital
oh, dear, those docs are pushers! vicodin!
hey vicodin is good stuff- keep you pain free plus alert & happy, also lots of energy to do stuff
brett farve was addicted to vicodin
why is this O different from all other Os?
whoa, i AM sleepy, favre
yes, helen, but they're for life...
cause it's at the bottom, melon. check out my profile for the guide to boxes.
i'm a chronic pain person too. vicodin makes me functional. if you're taking it for a temporary condition, the doctor should give you a taper regimen.
I don't mean to preach, helen, but I got screwed by that stuff
joke, hurshy. the 4 questions of passover: why is this night....
i really thought we had oroid before, what am i mixing it up with?
it's hard to quit altogether - one of the reasons is that my tolerance is high now, so for ex. i currently have tendonitis in my elbow, when it get really bad 9usually from sleeping on it) & the celbrex doesn't cut it, i just go to the vicodin, because the other stuff - otc - just doesn't work anymore
hehehe, oops :)
hurshy...add a letter (if you didn't get it already)
oh, see, i'm not jewish so i didn't know about passover questions
i did kristin, hence the hehehe, oops
i'm stuck on the oo
we posted at the same time...I'm still working on that other o too
I have seroquel now for sleep, and only buffered aspirin for pain
and why did i really think astic was a word?
ahhhh, i gotta watch out for those inside jokes. thanks to sitcoms, tho, everyone seems to know what a bar mitzvh is.
it's ok melon i'm always making star trek references that people don't get
gottagotta go. holiday coming up. i need to clean cook, enroll for a night course, laundry, etc....i'll be off the air thurs, fri, sat.
you'll I do understand, helen, just don't want anyone else to go thru what I did--you probably have a better doc
i am starting to think these long words are going to be very very odd.
either that or so obvious we cant see them
i dont know - she tends to give me whatever i ask for
My doc did too--kept me quiet
but, please enjoy your relaxation tonight, and the massage
Good MOrning
well lib, good chatting with you - i am interested in continuing this through e-mail -so let's do that, but now i gotta call it a night, am hoping to get some actual rest -keep your fingers crossed for me

i must really be tired, i thought jemma just said her name is juice girl
hi jemma
oh no lib - i'm not upset at all - very open & eager to hear what you have to say - will be gone most of the dya, so may not get to it til the evening, but thanks for taking the time & interest to share :)
hi jemma

ok SURELY noah's wife knitted some sweaters during those 40 days and when she marketed them she would advertise them as "arkmade"
hurshy...how many ar's do you have perchance?
only 3 kristin
hi susan
hi kristinc
i mean 4
hmm...okay, must be at least that many (only have 2)

but of course :)
it's really getting to be time for sprite to sprite me...maybe in a few more words she'll show up
they could almost have had an arkdoor too. actually, 2 arkdoors!
yeah, down to 28 to go but I think I might grab the list just so I can finish tonight (tomorrow is my anniversary)
and they would drink from the arkeg
and put on plays called arkacts
Hurshy, you are on a Biblical roll
acts
tee hee you guys, must be late indeed!
Is this the ark jokes room?
if fish had a homosexual encounter, would it be considered codamy (ok ok so that's a stretch, spelling-wise)
Hey kristin, I was watching a special on what would happen if Mt. Rainier erupted. We lived in Ellensburg, WA when St. Helens blew. Where did you live?
oh, dear hurshy-- lol
oooooooooooooooooooh
Codam & Gomorrah?
Punny, very
hurshy - would they read codmo?
I live in Seattle lmp...interestingly enough, I used to live in St. Helens OR (not entirely close to St. Helens--though everyone assumes it is)--named that because of the view
hah lib! ;)
omigosh, who's seen america's sweethearts???? don't you love the part where she says they're like sodom and gomorrah?

Kristin, one of my sons was born 6/28/80, full moon and more earthquakes ... the OB ward was overflowing! lol
hmm--the flags?

ca8/50
the incorrigible hurshy! YESS!
plural of the ca7/36 it is a secret society
Italian!
hmm...okay, sounds strange to me but let's see...thanks!
definitely sounds italian
not a word I knew before this puzzle, that's for sure :-)

ar7/38, plural of ar6/24; da7/36 and da7/44 are related to the da6/24

Thank you Knutmeg and Jaianniah
argh! I'm the only one too dense to get it!
ar 6/24 is used to express an exit? think shakespeare
da6/24 is a member of a robber band or gang in India
um, I'm denser :|
um, I'm denser :|
ar6/24 rhymes with anoint.
twice as dense as I'd thought...
a robber gang in india!!!!!!!!!!!!

um... knut? i don't know anything about gangs in india...
ca...sorry and I got it!
thanks folks...heading off w/ 18 to go tomorrow morning (special thanks to knut for the biggies)
ca7 and 8... sounds like camera, with an extra cosonant near the ned, and change the second vowel to the fourth vowel
okay, da word... gimme sec to improve my clue
Atalante...it was your clue that put me over btw...so thanks and now goodnight :)
Clue for the co 8?
a drug addict, arb
da 6/24 sounds like someone from da cast of da Saturday night live talking about da sex, without da al on the end
or perhaps a sodapop addict
TY Hurshy
(and amusingly the last four letters are another way to spell a game which is a lot like horseshoes, and since the cast of SNL went on about da bears, if they were a fan of quoit, they may have sat around saying this word.)
hi everyone im back 4 those who care
TY Knutmeg -- got them
gimme some words 4 todays puzzle. some long 1s preferbly
pleeeeeeez
Hi Jemma, go back in teh log a bit, and you'll see clues I've recently given for some 7s and 8s.

Take some initiative and learn your native language
or maybe 6.00am

Ok gotta go

Hello everyone!!
ah, the world is sleeping!! I likey!!
Afternoon MrP hows the grid today?
Fmitch!!! you are awake! I have no idea, just started! looks half decent!
I am awake and at my desk already done a couple of hours work, trying to get a head start on the day and include some babble time too.
am here too :)
you are keen!! I am winding down after my day! will be watching more French Open again tonight and bleary-eyed in the morning!!
Hi mrp & FMitch - glad to see you both.
Evening Dianne!!
I'm here too, battling the grid
Hi Kitty
Morning Kitty!
femor
Hi Atalante, oh and Dianne and KittyVane!
some self-promotion for y'all to look at! http://www.deviantart.com/view/3403676 7/
glad that isn't a word :)
Morning Atalante!
the grid seems to be a bit of though one today
I just started so I can't quite tell how it is - yet.
I think often the smaller the puzzle the more difficult the words. About half way and things bog down.
That's fantastic Atalante! Did you colour it with colouring pencils?
Atalante, another lovely piece, as soon as I looked at it I thought Watership Down and then scrolled down to see the lext.
ty :) yes, its pencil. but I'll probably do a bigger gouache version at some point
I wish I could use colouring pencils that well... I'm best just sticking to my markers.
Very nice Atalante!
Hmm why are my tile stats not registering when I've entered a word?
I wish I could use markers well!!
Try refreshing F5 HelenC Babble hic-ups occasionally
Thnx - better now
the r's are a miracle!! I know every single one and what they mean !! and there aren't a zillion of them!!
I can't believe there are 30 c's to be found in there somewhere.
the co8 is druggie compound
any more of a clue to that one? mr. pres?
co 4/9 + he 4/6
sure, co8 cola above the neck gives you addictions
co8 can also be a sodapop addict
Mornin' all

Morning Kateq!
Any clue for the ad 5/14 ?
a + **** you worthy
ad - comes off the de4

Good morning all - not quite such a big grid today, but is it friendly?
ad 5/14 to revoke a legacy
It is 6.30pm in Sydney and I am over it!!
It's not very friendly, at least to me
Morning Haz, Im finding it a bit sticky but I feel out of practice.
morning Haz
but that could be because I didn't sleep enough last night and I'm still half asleep
FMitch, the c's are quite nice!! a few stumpy ones but got them all!
Okay - I'll begin and see how it goes.
You are on a roll then MrP but I have found 11 so far, a good start.
its not very friendly, but not unfriendly either
hey everyone!

Hi Maddie!
TY deb and Kate .
Maddie! going solo! nice one!
LOL!
Any clues for co 5/14 that comes before the Australian word?
Hi Serenity
co5 - induced sleep + vowel
does anyone know if you can delete an account and if you do, how???
you need to ask dr_god that... I don't think you can delete an account, just don't use it anymore and continue on the new account
Maddie, you would probably have to email Dr_G and give him the details. You can reach him through the link right at the very botton of the page.
hi serenity
hi serenity

Finally made it to 70 words, pausing for breath before diving back in.
Have you noticed that this grid has standards as well as yesterday? No krays allowed.
hi everyone, this is paige as in Paige and maddie but i made a new account
LOL no I hadn't noticed that one.
Has there been a falling out between the two of you? maddie has her own account as well!
no there hasn't, we just want to talk to each other on babble aswell as everyday at school!!!
That's a relief! Don't be telling anything that's too big a secret, as we're all listening in!
like what you have in your sandwiches
I've got to 66 words here and am struggling, so gong to take a break and come back later.
That soulds like a good ideaHaz, I might do the same. TTFN

Hi Ata :) How the grid?
it's ok ... grinding to a halt at 35 to go!
That's not too bad! Another K-grid though :(
35 to go - Ive only found 35!
jess ur offline again
and horrid k's!
Found one, monkeytyping of course. Ko4/8. Can't see the other two for the life of me.
Correction, found one other. Was in a recent grid, that one.
Hi folks. Sprite - the 'k' I have is a ka4. It sounds like a golfing helper or a container for tea.
I've found that one ... the other 2 to go!
That was the recent one, Jac, thanks. One more :)
No chicken korma allowed.:(
Yeah! The last one is past time of arrive in alt. spelling.
I just stick to my veges and soup
I love chicken korma.
Someone tell my kids 'doah' is not a valid word.
doh
Hiya - just a quick peek, I suspect - how's the grid today?
47 left to find. Time for a break, methinks. BBL.x
Bye Jac, hi matty
I wish this grid was easy hehe
So do I CJ, Hi again all.
Hi Fmitch :)
Hi sprite good to see you, did you find all the k's?
I did! First thing I did, wanted to have them out of the way.
Thought of you when I saw them. Also since ExWren went on hols there has been a distinct lack of re's.
Isn’t sa5/16 one of the guys of LOST?
It should be possible to play puzzles you missed, like with sudoku. ExWren would have a blast :)
Hmmm, Now there's a thought!!!
Hi all - can't access Lickety so can some-one pls tell me what I am missing in the Gs - have the fool and the butter. Also missing 2 Ks - have the one from Get Smart - TY
I have G4/7 the fool with another last letter.
you're missing how they told the horse to hurry up
Ks are 4/9, 4/9 and 4/8.
could i have the 2nd ac4/6 clue please?
claire: highest point
ac4/6 - add yourself
thanks
lynxx, why can't you access lickety?? has something gone wrong??
Any hints for the ed7/44 please.
ed7/44 - add a vowel and one of which London and New York are examples.
I guess not! thank lynxxx
probably firewall at work or somethink like that MrP. Thanks Haz
likety is fine at mine - strange
You're welcome FMItch.
that is definately today's new word, had not come across it before.
Isn't it usually spelled Au? Of is it an entirely different word?
No, I hadn't heard of it either. Au indicates daring, this is one indicating greed
sprite - thats thats what I just pondered on - whilst trying to remember how it was spelt hehe
Hehe, close but no cigar. Every babble grid that teaches me a new word is a good one ;)
Mr P...the eMac we use at home is dying - and Lic's page is blank. and hen compounded with unresolved issue with no access to ChatBox, it is all v challenging but good for the brain. Off work today so couldn't print out Ls list to bring home.
missing ac4/5?
lynxxx... good luck sorting it all out!! glad you are still with us!
The one that does things is the one that Ac4/5
ac4/5 is what a stage-struck person does
got it ta
Why is 'itsy' not a word? I am positive it's used in songs. Like polkadot bikini.
and spider
Put a d in front of it sprite and it is acceptable.
lol, thanks
Time to go and walk the dog. Happy hunting all!
bye
By Haz, enjoy.
Says the dog to his friends: time to walk my boss, cu!
LOL
right having issues with ad's now :-(
got ad5-14
You have the deft one?
that's ad6/21.
nope
deft, dexterous, handy.
yep now got it. Not easy :-s
thanks
Good Morning Babbers
How are you Alien? Planet earth okay
very good.
dame
hi alien
good start :-)
oops
CJ: ad4/5 - 5/12 make changes in text, change first letter.
good morning everyone!
Hey Eva
ar6/24?
Greetings all..
hi Aloyisius
Hi Eva & Aloyisius
hi serenity & alysius & sprite
sprite - Ive just wroked out your clue - so slow today - bit lethargic :-(
is the ca7/8 a compound with the dessert thing?
ca 7/36 - secret group.. ca 8/50, the plural
Hi Eva, unfortunately not. but it does end in the o4/4
thanks cehess-don't know yet what it is, but will go searching
Today I vow to watch the cursor position; and I thought of a word for when you press enter and put a word on the chat log - how about BLAT? Well, I blatted three times in one day, and it made me shy ..
good luck ^^ I found it by accident
all I can think of is cabal(-:, or in camera
LOL Aloy, I have been doing the same thing today and been so careful so far.... famous last words!
Eva - take that 1st 3 letters of the last word you typed just now and find the o4/4 and add that to the end for the 7.
kind of sounds like camera, Eva
We all try not to and we all do on occasion. So I keep saying it's the setup of the site that is to blame, not us!
BLAT... heehee
or BLOCC - Babble Loss of Cursor Control
lol!
Eva - the ca7/36 & 8/50 not only sound like a camera but also more like a type of Chevrolet.
not seeing it. th oa4 I have is the oven. is that the wrong one?
it's the or4
What you shoot with a bow, lose last letter, spell backwards: that is the O4.
got it! Thanks everyone for the great group help!!
I think BLATS should cover it: Bleassssssssse Adept The Site!
*adapt
Merp just walked across my chest twice and is sitting on the floor whining. Should I feed him or make him wait?
Feed him. NOW!
okay-if you can just help me out with the ar6/24 you can stop this poor, malnourished (15 lbs!) cat from pining away
Don't have that one yet. So take a break, stop mistreating your poor little kitty and come back fresh ;)
Eva - they are bullying you
I hate cats clawing
mep definitely is
that's one heck of a cat to have strolling across you
go feed the belover MErp and by the time you get back we will have a clue for you. I have the word but haven't worked out a clue yet.
sometimes wake up thinking I'm having a heart attack or something because I can't breath ....and then see the furry face looming above me
So you are prepared, it is one of those stupidhead words again.
okay-back soon
lol!
hi everyone!
57 words Ive got now - annoying
hi lisalou
Its an alt sp to a word dating back to Shakespeare
Down to 47 but no speed left. Brick wall coming up very soon.
Def is - Used in the imperative to express an order of dismissal
That doesn't narrow it down much, FMitch, now does it? Almost all words do date back up till then :)_
good evening everybpdy
Where's Haz whenyou need her, she would be able to clue this Im sure!!
top that Aleksea, we Americanss just got up! Welcome anyway.
ok sorry
I'm stuck with the last ca4/6 . any clues?
i feel bad now
ar6 & 7 sound like rubbing oil in, in a ritualistic fashion. Or... what you do when you hire someone for a position.
lol aleksia, don't. It's afternoon here.
ok
in adelaide
aleksia, just joking kiddo. I am not a morning person, but make myself start the day with babble.
Serenity, is that they c4, they saw, they conquered?
oh thats a good one Jac - yes, how a Japanese person would pronounce the word to rub on holy oil.
ok lol
Guten nachmittag, everyone!!!!!!!
Bonne afternoon, movieman!
that's the one!! I must be blind!! tnx!!!
HI Movieman..
yw ;)
So, anyone care to venture a guess?
For what?
good afternoon movieman
Huh, MM?
The identity of the birthday boy of course!!!!!
bit of an easy one today MM - Clint.
You?
Du?
clint eastwood
Clint Eastwood.
Correct, FMitch....the Man With No Name is 76 today....
okay-the beast is pilled, brushed and fed. Where's my reward Sprite?
Good Morning Babblers :)
Jacula I beat you :)
Don't you hear him purring Eva? Jac and FMitch had the perfect clue together: "oh thats a good one Jac - yes, how a Japanese person would pronounce the word to rub on holy oil."
looked back at the log Xrptie and believe it or not, having acted in Romeo and Juliet 40+ years ago, I remember the word-speeled with an i instead of a y, but still. Thanks!!
Faerie - you did, by a whisker!
That was Sprite-not Xrptie(wow, how'd I get that one?)
LOL now kidding :)
Now that's an interesting nick :) Sprite aka Xrptie
Nice Nuts Jacs :)
Your finger slipped and hit the key below the 'S', Eva. (Or Merp typed it!) LOL
good morning all!!!!!!!!
{{{Shorty}}}
Why thank you, Faerie. You have nice nuts, too.;-)
{{{faerie}}}
{{{faerie}}}
Hi faerie, lets hpe that no too many male babblers follow the theme today cos we can't really greeet them with the phrase you just used LOL
Oh and Shorty's nuts look good also. LOL
LOL! Is it 'nut-day'? I better not change my icon then :D
LOL why thank you
ROFL FMich :P
Sprite you look great :)
FMitch - I was just thinking something along those lines... ROFLOL
LOLFMitch
morning
Hi all you nuts! How's it look today?
Let's also hope that no one decides to display such an icon. (Does Babble allow 'that kind' of pic? I've never tried to post one.)
{{{Angel}}} Good Morning :)
now now ladies
Yeah, great and still decent. Wouldn't vouch for that if I went following the theme today.
Oh Jacs I can't imagine anyone would but then you just never know about some people.
Why do I suddenly think of Capone ;)
FMitch - snap!
sorry to break into this nuts reverie, but any clues for the co8?
When I found out today's theme was nuts, I was contemplating using a pic of Michael Jackson.....LOL
Anyhoo back to the grid - 13 left to go.
Or John Prescott MM croquet any1
Clint today, MM? How old is he then?
cork
cola addiction about the neck Eval clue from MrP much earlier today.

sorry!
*addict
He's 76 today, Amanda......
oh - not sorry - don't know where I typed that one...
oh, yes sorry. Haven't had my coffee yet.
LOL, Amanadacath.
since the new version came on I can't go back to earlier posts-just the ones I can scroll here
View entire chat log doesn't work for you? The button I mean?
Or I could have used a poster or still from "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest".....LOL.....
27 words left to find, but they're slower being found now. Think I'll go and continue painting the shed with green preserver while the weather's dry. BBL.
that would have been perfect Movieman
no-it takes forever, even when it works-I mean 5-10 minutes to load, but most of the time just stalls out and I have to force quite and reboot. Not worth it. Have raised it with Jamie, but he can't come up with a solution
thats a pain Eva. I will type the clue again using the correct words this time co8 - 2 words think - cola habit above the neck c4 + h4
Probably because I have dial up service. No other choices out here in the boonies
That's not nice, Eva :( Ok guys, refresh to see my nuts.
or Barbra Streisand, MM
anyway-the first 4 letters of the co8 are obvious, can someone give me the first letter of the second syllable please?
top part of the body, Eva.
I have on G to find any clues
DUH!!! Thanks
We have 2 8-words that link together.
why is Korma not in the clue, great indian dish
duh i ment grid
Just changed icon......refresh people!!!!!
Ah, our not nutty clint :) Do you like my nuts?
It's more leafy than nutty, Sprite.....
That's for decency's sake :)
Oh sprite LOL
what's the other 8, sprite? AHA! now I get your icon - couldn't figure out what kind of leaf it was!
I've chosen a VERY apt movie icon.....LOL
Hihi. The other 8 starts with the same body part, amanda. Farthest above the neck.
movie-is that Jackie Gleason?
movieman what was the last film you saw?
It's not the nutty professor.
can't see very well...
Eva - no, it's Randle Patrick MacMurphy.....
Jack Nicholson
oh Ithought it was what I said - looks like him
good idea movieman!
who is Randle Patrick MacMurphy when he's at home?
Thx, found it. Any more biggies? And how many words in all?
CJ - The last movie I saw was M:I 3......
from the film once flew over the cuckoo's nest
3x8, 6 x 7 and 153 total.
one flew over, i mean
Eva - it's Jack Nicholson's character in "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"......
I didnt like the 2nd film so didnt bother with the 3rd one - it wasnt meant to be good.
Ah
I'm so sorry MM - I hope you went on cheap night!
Personally, CJ, Ithought the 3rd one was the best of the lot.....
missing 3 co's still-sighhhhhhhh
Think I'm going to take a meditation break and come back enlightened(-:
Eva, do you have the 'manifacture together' ones?
Some friends of mine are seeing XMen3 which I also havent seen

My resident comic expert was appalled at XMen3 - I'm gonna skip that one.
x-men 3 is good, but i was hoping for better!
Sorry is almost in there too.

I keep meaning to see x3, but I haven't heard from punster for a while now.....

Go Sprite!
Yeah I'm on the same one movieman.
movieman: secret organisations, Ca8, plural of Ca7.
yay sprite!!!!!
woohoo sprite!!
hi everyone!
ack! I've been missing the whole babble world for over an hour! I'm back now.
yay sprite! hi temple owl
hi temple owl
Hi Temple Owl :)
ah Sprite I'll probably kick myself when I find out what it is, but I don't know what you mean from that clue.
hi TO!
Mornin' TO - thx, Sprite for that 8!
i see we're getting abreak today - only 153! : D
yep I decided I might actually attempt this one.
Hi TO and musicmom and everyone that's just come in.
It is not a very common word, Miss ABS, so no kicking yourself. Ca + consonant + Or4/4
nice one sprite : )
My name's in the grid!
ah Ta Sprite :D
One of them, anyway...
Def. for the ca7...."a secret society in Naples notorious for violence and blackmail".......
thanks Movieman - that helped!
thanks mm!
and now I have an or 4 too
movieman was tha clue for the Ca with the double letters?
yw, mm & lisa.....
CJ - yep!!!!!! And plural for the 8.....
Think I'm just about at wits end... I've got 93 words, with 60 left to go.
Go Miss ABS --- YOu can do it!
Aww thanks musicmom.
It's just getting late here and I've got to get up early to go teach in the morning. Besides the kids in my class will pout if I get everything without letting them play!
They actually blocked babble for two days and I thought the kids would blow up! They were hysterical cause they couldn't do the puzzles during their "spare time" moments. I had to talk to the system admin person and tell her that the kids were going to go into cardiac arrest if she didn't put it back on the cleared list! LOL
There's a shark in the grid!!!!! There's a shark in the grid!!!!!
LOL Miss ABS --- what age are the students? My 12 year old plays with me sometimes.
Miss ABS why did they block it?
Initially it came up as a "games" website... and of course everyone knows that school couldn't possibly be fun so no one should be playing games. :p
Clue us in so we can get out of it's way, MovieMan!
schools!
She'll be sitting in my chair and say 'I see a word. Can I type it?"
I teach year 6 and 7 (grade 6 and 7) so they're from 10 - 13ish
oh I've got kids that turn up 20 minutes early for school just so they can babble. Kids from other classes even come into my room to play. It's cute.
amanda - it's an ma4.....plural for a 5.....
I feel really comfortable having her play this one because the chat log is clean (mostly<G>) and it challenges her reasoning and language skills
Yay, got it - thx, movie!
It's also a brand of sunglasses movieman! And of course, the logo is a... you guessed it SHARK!
Good Morning.
Morning BGL
hi, BGL
hi bgl
Yeah it's excellent. My kids were cracking me up one day because there was a "dirty word" in the grid and someone said it in chat and they came to me all up in arms and said "Miss S, we didn't put it but someone else did and it's a swear! A bad swear, but we didn't do it!" They were so paranoid.
Hey BGL -- how's that new kitty
AnnieBrook you're not from CO are you?
is that shark ma4/6 or 4/9?
ma4/9, franny......
4/9
tx
If you teachers out there would like some good games for kids, take a look at http://www.kaser.com/index.html - less word games than logicals, but I love them
She's really cute, still adjusting. We had a standoff yesterday with all three in different corners just staring at each other. (and hissing occasionally)
Miss ABS, no, Im from Brooklyn, NY. Hence, my name. the 3 7's is my poker name. never changed it for babble so it stuck.
LOL Miss ABS
ooo thanks Amandacath, will check that out
BGL - Has Dexter had a melt down yet?
Hi BGL
Ah okay, I just went to University with an Amanda Brook in CO so I had to ask. That would have been entirely random if you were the same person.
No, but he's trying to figure out what's going on. I think eventually he and Maia will be friends... Niles is the wildcard
Anyway all I'm off for tonight. Tomorrow morning will come entirely too early. Take care everyone and I'll see you tomorrow sometime. Happy babbling!
Oh that's right. Hannah thought the name was funny
Good night all.
Good night Miss ABS
night miss abs
Love your icon BTW BGL
bye, miss abs. your kids sound wonderful. keep up the good job.
Thanks, it took me forever to find that one
you know --- it is really funny how your icons are predictable. I knew what you would have for Soap Operas too
BRB
BRB
BRB
Ive got 69 now - would like to get it to 70 for obvious reasons hehe
mm - but did you think I would go with "Cuckoo's Nest" for today?
My a/c isn't working in my office. Don't know how long I'll be on here. I may have to go over to the "big" church and actually do work there.
Music Mom just thinks she knows all about me...
my office a/c isn't wokring either. i feel like i'm being smothered
I wish we had had a spring!
There's a nest of starlings making rather a racket outside my house right now.....
me too!
Last week at this time we were bundled up in sweatshirts and jackets
I love american spellings!
stupid thomas guy- make him fix it
anyone have the other eights - besides the ca?
MM-the starlings will attack you if you get near the nest so be careful.
lol bluephlox. it's feast or famine here, as usual!
CJ - ummm, american spellings like....?
Down to the last word - the 2nd mo5/12 can anyone help with a clue?
i'm shocked! you should go yell at the S.N. you know what that stands for!
Od4 a smell
CJ - is the smell spelled differently in the UK?
Fmitch: do you have the short version for the day after today? That's the only one I have right now..
yes it is amanda
the mo 5/12 not less + ** (like)
for now i'm just babbling , i'm sure one of the hags will come yell at us for having the windows open...
thanks aloyisius!
have a good day abe. i'm off to work. kick some louise bootie for me- and play dirty, go for a ribbon
yw
i sure will bluephlox!
ah yes - looked it up, CJ, and now i remember
adios!
adios!
Fmitch : do you have the 2nd mo4/5 ? it hs a plural
No BGL --- I am surprised how much I know you when we haven't actually lived together in 19 years:-))
jbp: thnx for the clue: I had the sing. and needed the pl.. doh!
so how does it get decided what the icon theme is?
BGL and Musicmom do you just chat on this or do you phone each other? :-)
Both and add e-mail
Geez - I just walked through the mudroom -- the outside thermometer already reads 92 degrees
CJ25 - we're sisters --- so we do a little bit of everything
there's a list somewhere, jbp - on Angel's page maybe? Dunno who decides...
jbp - people suggested them to babbler ---either on a significant date or she puts them in where they will fit
{{{{MusicMom}}}} Hi love the basket of nuts :)
MM~ I'll try to stump you tomorrow with my icon... what's the theme?
Not sure --- I think it is Pentecost --- I'll go look
hi faeriekae, mmmm. walnuts!!!!
amandacath, so is it decided ahead of time, or is it spontaneous nuttiness
favorite snack foods
what IS today's theme?
((((Faerie))))) You guys are seeing nuts? I have popcorn
Today is nuts
snack foods is tomorrow's theme :-)
yes it is decided ahead of time. You can see them in I thought today was favorite snack foods. UGH!
okay I have to go change my outfit.
mm, that popcorn looks TASTY!!
Oh Music I had to click on your icon to see it. Yup its popcorn
MM will definitely know tomorrow's iconm for me then... can you guess it sis?
You can see them in babbler's handbag or on a link from angelsong
Aloy - that was the one I was missing, thanks.
BGL --- potato chips and dip
YOu're right as always{{{{{gag}}}}}
of course I'm right as always --- i am the big sister:-))
ahh, good, FMitch.. (-:
going looking for nuts be right back
Time for lunch..... BBL......
BGL --- can YOU guess what kind of nuts I'll look for?
Cashews or Pistachios?
musicmom... it seems to me you won't need to look further than this chat log...
.. and I am done.
yay mitch!
Yay Mitch!
yay FMitch!!!!!!!
huzzah Mitch!
WTG, FMitch...
Hey, jbp, are you calling us nutty? :)
Good job FMitch!
LOL jpb ---- Pistachios --- changing my icon right now
bgl... far be it from me to cast the first nut
BRAVO fmitch
Okay refresh. I have nuts
Keep your private life out of this, musicmom...
HAHA!
Okay I better get to the grid. Today is the only day this week that I don't have to run anywhere.
Nice nuts Music :)
mmmm, pistacilicious
3 nuts, very unusual!
mmmmmmm nutella --- haven't had that in ages
I like to over achieve FMitch
Her nuts are named greg, hannah and sarah
YEP!
YEP!
Speaking of Sarah --- you might want to pray for her -- she has a death wish around here right now
LOLmusicmom and BGL
BGL - I just figured out your nut....its a buckeye :)
my father just came back from a trip to italy, and my persoanl favorite picture was of the 7 pound jar of mutella he saw at a convenience store...
What DIDN'T she do now
SEVEN POUNDS!!
Same old same old --- I don't know why she thinks she can tell me she cleaned the cat litter (when she hasn't) and not get caught
finished nutella yet?
What is nuttella (at the risk of sounding very out of it)?
7 LBS?????? Wow that's a lotta nuts
YUMMY BGL
it isn't so much the lack of cleaning but the lying
Okay, what do you do with nutella?
chocolate hazlenut creamy goodness
eat it
spread it on stuff
bread
fruit
graham crackers
and other things :P
i make kickbutt nutella banana pancakes
icecream
spoons
(gasp) Atalante!
sandwiches! bananas! bagels! toasted nutella sandwiches!
it's what many Euros eat instead of peanut butter
OK, I get the picture... trying to remove Atalante's visual in my mind...
Kroger's has it BGL
Oh wait --- you don't have Krogers
atalante... shaped like a .... hey, this is a family show here!
WE don't have Kroger's, remember?
nutella banana pancakes? yum!
Im getting fed up - I thought I typed in some words before and I obviously hadnt - so its a bit annoying :(
Yeah I remembered ---see?
i hate it when that happens, cj25
yes, we can get it here, too --hannaford, price chopper, etc. but I think the pic of a SEVEN POUND jar (did I mention that part) was what had me going
the trick is to mash up the 'nanas, and mix them into the batter....
mmmmm
I just can't imagine being able to eat it fast enough to have 7 lbs of it. It is very rich
hmpff... well I have 80 words now - less than half to go!
me too neither.
but i'd like to try someday
those huge jars are just incredible. I've seen some somewhere. Not in the UK
we used to eat it right out of the jar when I was in college. I'd eat until I felt sick
also, it's very good with slices of peach or pear
mmmmmm
stick at it CJ!! you are getting there.
i think milky way tried to come out with an analogous product a couple of years ago. but it fell woefully short
FMitch - I never get there that is the problem :-(
nutella and toblerone fondue is the best thing ever
milky way will be so sickly
Only two t words today --- very interesting
yeah, and the consistency was all off
Just to spoil the fun, I *think* those huge nutella jars are just an advertising thing - but I may be wrong... and there is a milky way version of it here in Germany, jbp
Atalante~ I just went into sugar shock thinking about your fondue
any last clues before I go?
LOL not surprised! it *is* amazing though. for all the 5 mouthfuls you can eat
ooooooo ata --- yeeeeeeaaaahhhhh
milkyway if I remember - very sticky?
nutella and toblerone fondue? oh my goodness! do you melt them with heavy cream?
Okay, need to go to Bible study (and actually do some work). Be back this evening...
see you later bgl
after this food orgy, you're going to do bible study? ;-=)
Bye BGL --- have a good day
I'm trying to remember. Its something awful like nutella, cream, toblerone and a splash of brandy or some other alcohol. and eat with cake / biscuits if you're mad, or with fruit if you're not mad
for so few words, this is a kinda hard grid...
See ya later...
ATa that sounds fabulous
or if you dont have nutella, mars bar and toblerone works pretty much the same
i'm going to try that, atalante. with cake, of course
Mitch, you still there? how 'bout the other t word - got the ocean one...
hehehe
or bowl of vanilla ice cream and then microwave a mars bars to the point that it is 1/2 melted and pur over the icream.
amanda it ts4 - the russian ruler
NICE shorty!!!!!!
oh yes! that sounds yummy!
the other t word bis another name for a king
of course it is, pass the eel
i'll take extra mars bars, please
how long does a mars bar take to melt?
aww atlanta said a word!!!!
in the mouth? :-)
amanda, before passing me the eel, can you clue me to the other t (not the king)
Shorty love the new icon LOLOLOL
did I? oooops! sorry!
ty ty ty
ocean in ocean out
abe - moon, ocean....
babblers are exempt from not using words in chat log when giving recipes involving chocolate...
can't remember ata, not long I should think try 1min an dif needs more pop it back.
oh ok i see
did she? *scrolls back....*
thanks amanda!
yeah - did I? where?!!
dicy
right must be off Happy Babbling.
OOOHhh that word ---- I didn't even notice -- I was too busy thinking about heavenly luscious chocolate fondue
yes at 8:10
bye f
Later, FMitch!
I was just on my way out when I saw the word Nutella. Costco carries it. In Charlotte NC. yearrown, in Detroit and Cleveladn only in the summer. Much cheaper too.
I'm obviously still in chocolate land, I have nooo idea which word it was LOL - OH! yes! LOL *grins*
it's a pastry ata
i've scrolled down several times and still don't know what word was used... i'm dazed by thoughts of nutella
* year round
oh...extra yummy word!

bonkler, ummm, duly noted. and it means...?
well bonkler i was thinking we could put the two smell words together for a really powerful smell and that would use them all too
like a smelly thing for cigars?
thankyou got it now!
means? i'm quite sure many of these words are bereft of meaning. they exist to frustrate.
Yummy, crunchy theme today!
oh and jbp, my phone rang so i was distracted - but the word you were looking for is "fervor"

AH (smacks forehead) of course!
tried, harp - sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't ... haven't quite figured that out yet
that was a good movie, not the best. it was a disappointment for those who had read the book
it was also a disappointment for Ken Kesey who sold the rights for $10 or something like that.
True, harpjane. I took a class in college comparing film and lit, and that's one of the books/movies we studied.
You have to admit though, harpjane, it did begin quite a few people's movie careers.....
im stuck on ac4,5
Like Christopher Lloyd, Danny DeVito.....
Wow, didn't know that about Kesey. Do remember visiting San Francisco and standing on the spot where his cottage was.
tiny, is it in your car battery?

Definition of "ska" from Dictionary.com - " Popular music originating in Jamaica in the 1960s, having elements of rhythm and blues, jazz, and calypso and marked by a fast tempo and a strongly accented offbeat."
Waitaminute.....only for the 14-day free trial....or not?
Good morning one and all, happy last day of May and nutty day. I've plunged in half an hour ago, Stid, andso far unlisted have reached 55 words. From now on it will be tougher I know
well, when you finish CJ, let us know if you can't see fireworks, and we'll give you some the old-fashioned way. (what we did until a couple weeks ago)
Hetty - hiya!!!!!!
Hi Hetty!
morning Hetty dear! I am going to dive back in and get as many as I can before the rinse cycle on my laundry...
Amanda da6 = da + word that sounds like a game where flat rings are pitched at a stake (usually spelt with a qu)
dive away Stid...IM is up btw
Good morning, Miss Hetty. I'm not being very chatty this morning as I have limited time before leaving for work.
maybe i only see fireworks because I'm new and in 14 days? they'll be gone
Oh how nice to be called that again, dear ch1212. You've made a lasting impression with that salutation--much more acceptabel than my husband's
Fireworks!
yipee for angelsong!
... and dare we ask what your beloved calls you?
YAY angel!
YAY Angelsong! :-)
*~*~*Congratulations Angel*~*~*~

faeriekae! see my pretty rose? they smell even better than they look this year (best they've ever done)
i don't get the ringtoss clue for da6...
you're welcome amanda. Just change the last letter, think tile values.
LOL hetty -- that is just too funny!
Congratukatons, angelsong, in such a short time too!
Oh, I love that! Miss Hetty, you are a blessed woman. That is terrific, and I am going to share that with my beloved.
jbp: do you have the ad6/21? it means deft. remove the a
He is the Lord Master of Iron Sudoku :)
oh! thanks temple!!
72, stid, fmitch, ch, hett - hellooooo
jbp - like your phantom "interruptus" word
I am at 35 and the rinse cycle has begun. Off to put in the fabric softener then I can "set a spell"
hey nut! welcome to nut day!
Hello evanonut -- I like your icon :)
thanks ch - since it's nut day, i thought i'd do a self portrait
Thanks, Haz - am slowly losing the patience to figure things out on my own...
72 - perfect day for pecan pie???
evanout, your icon looks like what my eyes feel liike after forty minutes of gridding
nut - you KNOW i'm dieting....
it's my natural look
72 - i took out ALL the calories, i swear
thanks amandacath -- i knew I was wanting it to be there for SOME reason
hi nut!
did anyone clue the da8?
yw!
I'm finished - YEAH!!!
hey stiddy
YAY faeriekae!
yay faeriekae!
woohoo!! wel done faerie {{faerie}}
Hurrah for faeriekae!
wow faeriekae!
the faerie is on a roll
hooray for fairie!!
Congrats, Faeriekai, you done good
There is no da8, TO - Mitch clued the 6-7-7 combo just now...
Yay Faerie!
a question, FK -- someone in Ontario was talking about having trouble growing roses. You live closer to their climate than I do -- are they in the place where you have to really pamper roses to make them healthy?
cy words, besides the cy4 that's lumpy
ty *dives back into log*
Stid - My roses do really well..I have all kinds of roses
stid - where you is? i just chuck em in the ground and cut when it freezes
and Thank you everyone :)
nice nuts faerie
I live at the south end of Puget Sound, very mild climate, more like mid-coast California because we are only a short distance from the water.
i'm middle-ish pa - my rose is easy
and i got the cy 4/8 that ends like stid
Stid - I don't cut my roses back until spring.
hi all - how goes the grid?
Thanks Evan LOL
cy4/8 - cy + slang for mother, build of that with other vowel for the other two
I have the philosophy that I only grow things that are easy -- life is too short (and my garden too big) to fuss over temperamental plants.
hady
what strange words! amanda i though she was cluing the dr word so i skipped it. BUNNY!
thanks bun!
stid, that's why i love hostas
hi bunnyvicious!
hello
hi fiz!
Hi BV :)
Hi bunny!
I've been lurking...
I'm a perrenial girl myself - put 'em in, water, hope for the best next year
Did you see yourself in the grid, Stid ?(says the poet who dont knowit) I keep seeing phntome woreds like hegemony and armadillo so I'm going to take a break over a nutty breakfast.
yes, I have a few hostas (will get more when I start to focus on the shade garden), one of them finally got ahead of the slugs this year and is enormous!
26 left to go but I have to leave. Will be back later. Happy babbling!
yes, hurshy pointed it out as soon as she got in at the flip! have a good morning repast, Hetty!
Later ch12
bye ch1212
hostas are great, i once spent $75 on a hosta
i think we should have a haiku contest with words we see as phantoms in the grid... how else can we get coitus, hegemony and armadillo all together??
there is a jewish word in a word I believe? What word does it begin with if that makes any sense?
c ya ch1212
Yes, Fiz, most of my plants are like that -- I do try to weed a couple times and put extra top-dressing and fertilizer for plants that have been in a while... otherwise I like to sit back and enjoy!
Evan $75.00 for a hosta???? Are you kidding???
later ch1212!
bye everyone - bbl! happy babbling!
I have hibiscus, can't grow much in the heat here, they all have to migrate into the house in the summer.
bye TO, have a lovely day!
By TO :)
bye TO!
the ar 6/24 and 7/36 have a yiddish exclamation in them
no faerie, i kid not - (bye 72) - it's a wonder full plant with floweres taller than me!
bye temple and ch1212
Stid is that a rose from your garden?
I am allergic to hibiscus... when we lived in Puerto Rico there were hedges of the stuff between the houses...
hi everyone! I'm back to finish. Just about halfway through
hi abe!
yes faerie, they are so pretty this year!
hey stidmama, how's it going?
Hi Abe :)
hi musicmom!
hey faeriekae!
slowing down in the grid already and only 38 words acquired...
Stid it is beautiful....do you know what kind it is?
i have to do this grid in spurts
I tried twice to put in dromedary
not on the level of roses, hibiscus or hosta- but I thought I had killed my marigolds last week but this morning there are blooms. Yey!
I put in a rose bosh a few years ago - 2 seasons of lovely golden pink roses - then last year the most intense 80s hot pink you could imagine - don't know what happened! But very prolific and sweet smelling, so I'm rolling with it.
di 5/18 suggestions?
nah cant get the yiddish one
yep this is definitely the kind of grid you have to walk away from
LOL MM - marigolds keep the slugs away - they're great
no faeriekae, I don't. A neighbor gave it to me when we moved in -- his wife had been a friend of mine... my aunt said it might be "fire and ice" because it has such a lovely scent.
di 5/18 - di + another word for town without the "i"
ar+exclamation+2 consonant
Missing 3 7's......I have the ar7, ca7 & the dr7....cluez plz.....
is it the word for eek you can't get?
Fiz-the 3rd year is usually the beginning of the most beautiful blooms ever. :)
I'm pathetic Fiz - I can kill everything!
Stid thats what it looks it..was just wondering
there are two da 7's, dr 7, & ed 7
a penny in the soil will make the colors more vibrant
2x da7 - Mitch clued them earlier if you can get back that far...
:-) the only thing I did differently this year was start putting banana peels around the base under the surface of the dirt -- seems to have really done the trick!
jpb - after all of that I had the stupid word anyway :-s
*banana peels* gotta remember that!!
;-) cj... dpm
but I didn't, so very grateful for the work, CJ and jbp!
tontcha love when that happens
MM - my dad and grandfather were amazing gardeners - they taught me everything I know. The one think I could use more of, though, is patience.
Bunny - cluez for those plz......
The ed 7 - ed + first vowel + another word for town
*a penny in soil* gotta remember that too.
Roses LOVE banana peels - egg shells too.
makes roses rosier and turns hydrangeas bluish
the da 7's are identical except for the last letter, one plural, one with a sometimes vowel at the end
and - if you can stomach it - blood meal.
my swedish relatives use eggshells mixed w/ coffeegrounds
all blood meal ever did for me was make my cats want to roll around in the flowerbeds
dr 7 rhymes with what is in the waist of stretchy pants
yick
roses also like fireplace ashes
I could use more "diligence" and do the things I know are supposed to be done... my grandfathers were (one still is) wonderfully well-informed and prolific gardeners. I am a lot more laissez-faire...
Do the da7's have definitions, bunny?
coffee flavoured roses
Fiz - I just bought blood meal over the weekend. I'm waiting for it to stop raining before I put it down
Jbp - that sounds like my compost heap - I need to eat more veggies!
great clue bunnyV
I mean scented not flavoured
thanks bunny! I am finally to the point where my only stretchy pants are sweats I wear as jammies....
don't eat the veggies fiz - just put them in the compost
so,,,di 5/18 help?
bunny it was good
MM, da6 - A member of a robber band or gang in India or Myanmar (Burma)
Good point, MM - sometimes they sit in the fridge long enough that it works out that way.
di 5/18 - di + another word for town without the "i"
jbp - it's a silly word... short for the tape recorder a boss uses and gives to his secretary?
di 5/18 - di + another word for town without the "i"

sounds like what you take pix with, hydra
ra - try googling "a secret society in Naples notorious for violence and blackmail "
okay, back to the grid. all these yummy clues flying by...
ca+consonant+or4
the 8 is the plural
hydra, ca7 and 8 sound like a thing you take pictures with (one is plural)
the ca 7 ends with o 4/4
hydra - try googling "a secret society in Naples notorious for violence and blackmail "
which do 4/5 do i have: the thing you enter and exit thru...?

lol, MM. I went to my sister's graduation this weekend - my grandmother said "all those girls - you would think someone would clean the carpets and the furniture! Can't they smell?"
LOL you wouldn't be laughing if you saw the place.
We have heard they are remodeling the one I lived in freshman year (19 years ago) this summer.
so, clues for the ed7/44?
I had one of my own - 15 roommates in an old frat house. off campus - but still...
oh, I remember several places I lived in college -- tough to go to school full-time and work minimum wage jobs and still eat...
I would say it is about time
Ope, my Mommy is here, better get, see ya'll tomorrow I hope!!
yes stidmama - but we are stronger women and better home managers for it.
bye bye bunny
My freshman year I had a roommate who didn't know how to do laudry --- she just threw underwear away and bought more since she was from Chicago and couldn't get home often enough to wash.
bye bunny.
true enough, musicmom!
she had a ridiculous amount of clothing.
*gasp of disbelief*
i knew several guys in the dorms who would mail laundry home
bye bunny!
rich?
totally zany
OH YEAH!
jbp - like "you have the au****** to ask for a clue?!" - change the beginning
I had a freshman roommate who changed in the closet - 9 months of living together and I don't think I ever saw her legs.
they were from LawnGuyland
my children already know how to do the laundry -- putting it away seems to be a more difficult task for some reason...
I had a "mean" mom who made me cook, clean and launder while I was in high school
Fiz, is that a metaphor for something
LOL Fiz
whoohoooooooooooooo 100 words!
wow
way to go CJ!
thanks amandacath!
Go CJ --- I need to quit talking and word hunt
CJ is on a roll!!!
don't think so. maybe if i'd spent more time in there she wouldn't have been so nervous.
no prob - took me forever to find it....
be hard pushed to get anymore its taken the whole day to get 100!
Go CJ GO

not that I had any help - maybe a little hehe
i'll take a cinnamon roll, hold the pecan
so, fe 6/30....

go CJ! I'm at 47 - too much chit chat
anyone got the sa5/16? jbp - the fe is plural leg bones
I am finally to 55 and heading for the list... brb
frost
fe6 - or maybe all-women ca7/36?
yikes! sorry, all - hydra I'm there with you
hey thanks fiz
I've just come in from nutty breakfast to see the discussion of laundry and itvreminds me of my youngest dauhtrer's method of dealing with it-she and her lovely bloke each have 2 chairs in the bedroom , one for dirty and one for clean. (They iron only when about to wear a freshly washed outfit.) Sadly they cant always rember tother from which, so Mandy ends up rewashing clean clothes and ironing dirty ones. . .
thanks fiz and amanda!
my last word - sa5/16? Or are you going to make me monkey it...? :)
LOL Hetty --- sounds like my 12 year old - I never know whether the clothes in her hamper are dirty or clean. My solution is to make her do her own laundry
I don't have it amanda
amanda...it sounds arabic
oh hetty, that hits too close to home -- I iron things only when I am going to wear them -- but that's because most of my clothes are jeans and T-shirts... Tom irons his work shirts the weekend before...
butting in on the laundry chat... painful...daughter just home form uni .. need I say more...
condolences, Dippnall!!!! LOL
I only iron on an as needed basis but I hang things up on hangers as they come out of the dryer. In our old house, it didn't do me any good to iron everything at once because the closet was so small. We have a walk in now but haven't gotten in the habit of ironing regularly
sa 5/12 ends the same was as the biblical king who had it in for JC
Poor dippnall
Ironing is overrated.
Yay got it! Sexy Lost guy (or one of them, at least...) I'm done then - and off to feed rumbling tummy and learn lines before my director tosses me out of the play!
ooh, act like the wind, amandacath! what play, where, etc?
amanda! did you get fireworks?
Hello all.
hi Minski!
hi miinski
There are so many almost great words in this grid.
bye amanda, hi minski
Hello, Minski.
Funny story -- my husband is a professional musician and often wears a tux. Right after we got married I was bemoaning ironing the stupid shirt to the wife of one of the profs. She just laughed -- said 'Don't you know you only iron the front? The sleeves and back get messed up by the jacket - who knows whether you iron or not.
Hi Minski
BTW- Hi Vic
:-) Actually, with the boys becoming musicians, that is a good tip! thanks!!!
hi Vicuna!
Same is true of any shirt they are going to wear with a suit or band jacket. It works. I've passed it on to many young wives since.

ha4: One of the two curved wooden or metal pieces of a harness that fits around the neck of a draft animal and to which the traces are attached. and another: a complex red organic pigment containing iron and other atoms to which oxygen binds

Phantom word of the day: Dromedary......
the phantom of the dromedary...the music of the desert...
I wanted hegemony. (As a word, of course. In reality I wouldn't take it as a gift. I'd take a dromedary, though.)
I keep seeing aromatic!

the grid says I have 1 word left, and it's an o, starting in the left 2nd row. but i have all lickety's words...

The minute I finished The Halfblood Prince, I wanted to talk with someone about it, but my daughter and her husband hadn't finished it yet. I was going nuts. And my husband doesn't read except the newspaper.

Seeing the book chat makes me feel very wishful of expressing my ideas about the value of literature. As a specialist in novel theory, I have for many years taught books I loveand my main pleasure in life now I'm retird is sharing this love of books with others--I think a great novel, like any other great work of art, teaches us to view the world differently--shows us how to look into our own hearts and see our world from a new perspective that goes beyond our own self-interest--it fulfils the function of myth in human experience
what exactly is novel theory, hetty? sounds interesting - I'm very interested in how myth is portrayed in fantasy books
WOW Hetty, well said! yes, yes and yes.
tks...hetty...that was lovely....but may i ask for a clue for ed7 pls? (BTW..hetty...i do agree)
i agree with you, hetty
hear, hear hetty! I must admit to not being 'well' read but do love words for their own sake & love that lift a good read can give you. Being VERY busy with the granchildren has allowed me to read muchless demanding novels recently & I've had such fun!
e d a7, take the fancy word for daring and subsiutute
an "e" for the first 2 letters
ed+1st vowel + ci4/7
I agree with you Hetty. As a past Lit teacher I was always amazed by people who didn't like to read, who found it boring. I am very excited about recent children's and young adult lit that seems to have gone back to the lit of old and not that fluffy stuff that was really popular for a long time.
wow...never have i seen it spelled that way b4...tks oggy
okay, I had already monkey-typed the e7, so when I used your clues, I got the message that I had already entered it!! LOL
i guess it's a word i've not heard of b4
cathy, the ed7 means voraciousness
not like the au form of it...does it mean the same thing?
It would bore you to hear about novel theory. . . it simply means leaning more about how and why novels are written. I used to have a sign on my office door s
saying "As a novel lover I find myself perpetually bookede"
i think it does mean the same as the au then.
Hetty, I LOVE that sign!
doesn't sound boring at all! I must have spent years reading about novel theory applicable to Tolkien without even knowing it :)
snowy owl, I was a literature major for my undergrad and grad degrees, and I personally think "fun reading" is wonderful as is "serious reading"
meanwhile, did anyone ever help mad with the DA's?
:)
nope, sorry
I like reading, but not "literatire" -- never liked dissecting what I read... perhaps I had the wrong teachers early on, Hetty! because seems novel theory runs along the lines of how I think about books and writing. I like to know why and how.
Good for you, Atalante. I men when I talk about boring only the stuffabout post-moxernism annd deconstructionism and all the other isms that bedevil university clases in novel criticism. But I have to say one more oprofessorial thing, and it is that myth is not necesarily to be equated with fantasy--myth is a narratve (always a narrative) that seeks to explain what is otherwise inexlicable. It is a special kind of truth therefore, a truth more valuable than "fact"
hi hetty - i'm at the library and guess who i found on the computer when i went to babble (it's a quiet day)
da + short form of "company" + impersonal pronoun, then plural for the first two da
the other da 7 is not plural, but ends in y
the last da is the woman's equivalent for British "knight"
I have really enjoyed reading all sorts of nonsense! I as bedridden for a few months of every year for 4 years age 6-10 and had read almost all of Dickens & quite a few classics. I'm the sort of reader who has to read the cereal packet if there's not a book nearby. I'm in the library at every excuse & am busy instilling a love of books in my grandchildren. we're having a lovely time! Cannot sleep without reading even if it's 5 am & I only manage two lines! Have bought a book prop & can now read & iron & read & cook! GREAT
Hi Jill! and guess what I'm talking about! My usual lbrary subject!
yes ... Tolkien was always very specific that he was creating myth, and looking at how that traditionof myth-making compared to fantasy has been passed down from people like McDonald before him, to ALan Garner and JK Rowling (!) after him is fascinating (I was brought up on myths from various places, its entrenched into me!)
Hetty -- that is how I have tried to explain things to my boys all along! That TRUTH can hide in story, and to look for that as much as "fact" in reading books from other times and places (and even from "now")
Great, snowyowl You feed your imagination, which is what it's all about.
Alan Garner - there;s another name for you, Munner!
Stid~ I wouldn't think of literature as stuffy. I think well written books are literature. Although I draw the line at formula novels!
Thanks stidmama, got them
books, snowyowl, were my solace in young life too -- we moved a lot as a military family, and it was easier to keep my "book" friends than to worry about fitting in in new places.
Atalante~ what do you think of Piers Anthony? I love his INcarnations of Imortality series
and I would generally rather read than almost anything else... except now I found Babble there isn't much time left for reading! LOL
I think that the difference between formula novels and literature is whether or not they are well written.
One day, Stid, when we are not babbling but talking. I'l talk more about why I'v egiven my life toliterature, and why enjoying books means far more than analyzing them. Later thoiugh. I have my hospital visits to do now. Jst keep on reading! Particularly Ian McEwan!
BGL, some of my favorite books are classic formula novels -- Nancy Drew mysteries! I read them when I was a kid, and am now rereading all of them.
I love the Incarnations series. I think Piers Anthony is fun to read and the ideas in those books are intriguing -- but I have to say that in the subsequent books sometimes the "backtracking" and "filling" to bring people up to speed got a little tedious.
That's true all novels follow a formula, I was thinking along the lines of dime-store romance novels... whaich are fun to read, but not "literature"
gosh, I haven't read any Piers Anthony for ages! I loved his books when I read them though - I'm getting back more into the sci-fi end of fantasy though - adult "fantasy" itself is becoming very formulaic at the moment - with a few exceptions - its horribly depressing
IAN MCEWAN! Yay!
Hetty -- bless you for visiting in the hospital, and see you later!
help with the di 5 16 please
mad- you're in the grid today!!!
I love the Bobbsey Twins!
I know what you mean stidmama - a good story was a great analgesic when my joints were red hot & painful. My mum says I love reading 'cos she read The wind in The willows ' to me when she fed me & I did the same for my daughter when I fed her. Cannot imagine a world with no reading in it & I would still prefer to read than do anything else.
If you want fantasy as literature; please give the works of Gene Wolfe a try
di 5/16 is what I feel today -- not quite connecting, rather the stereotypical "blonde" word. d + impersonal pronoun +plural letters (that's the 4/5) then add a y to make it an adjecive
mad add y to the one before it
mad - di5/16 another spelling for someone who is bubbleheaded
or "babbleheaded" smaller? LOL
got the he 8 letter word. the others, are they compound words? hints, pls&tx
Thanks, got it

helen, I knew what you meant! really, I'll cross my fingers for you, too. As long as you promise to mention Babble at some point during the contest :o

missy - LOL - i aldready mentioned babble in the application!!! - it asked for favorite hobbies - LOL

Thanks! Feels like moving up. I'll be closer to the MAX line, in any case.
Hi, all, just started, may I please have clues for the ca8 and co8 and any other long words :)
ca8 is plural of ca7/36... which sounds like the thing u take pictures with, but spelled a couple letters differently
hi peri, ca/8 ca + fort in puerto rico
ar 6 and 7: ar + ***rogers + thing a squirrel will eat minus the vowel. (then plural)
or castle
the co8 is a compound word co** (the carbonated drink) and he4/6
hi peri ca7is 1st 3 letters of the ca4/6 before it + or4/4 + plural for the 8
Cathyar and Anniebrook, thanks, got them right away
co8 is a compound word for someone who likes blow
yay peri....feelin proud to give a clue to one so up on the stats list as u!!! :)
Cathyar, thanks, got the co8 too,
co8 is a drug addict -the rival for pepsi + the bit of you you neck holds up
Cathyar, I think I am only high on the Elders list and that is because I have been play for almost two years

ty Cathyar!
i've been at it about 6 months and have only completed about 3 times...lol

nothing else quite like it Cathyar - I've been playing since last October & still enjoy every grid.
I have been at this for about a month and I am in awe of anyone who finishes. One day. One day.
Savor the journey, Cathyar. The destination is secondary. And we like chatting with you!
u'll get there annie...some of the words seem repetitive by times...and u get used to what is "odd" in what is in Dr.God's dictionary
lol...listen to me talkin like "old hat" or sumthin
Alien, your icon looks to be an original work. Is it yours? And what is the medium?
Yes, the journey is fun. Even tho, I am not a big chatterer, I enjoy listening to the chat and I get help along the way.
Dr. God's dictionary is nothing like Websters...it's worldwide dictionary
I wish i could claim the drawing...but I stole it from google images.
Very nice, in any case.
ty
gads...the dog wants out to pee...gotta go...then get some homework done with my 8-year old son..b4 his bedtime...i swear it's so easy to lose track of time playing this game

153 words
cath - what's wrong with your language?
She's just referring to verbal shortcuts, B4 and the like. Not foul language...
just found the fish that I slapped myself with earlier.... in the h's (clue)
ah - so my ? remains - what's wrong with that?
Oh, Hetty is ... how to say... a little 'old school'. Actually, she's tremendously hip!
ah - i see - i guess i haven't ever heard her say anythign about that, cause yeh, i agree she's hip (& very, very smart!)
it is funny, you can tell the relative age of chatters by how complete their spelling is...... totally (often older), abbrev, & da txt sp, wot u say?
Oh I doubt she'd EVER say anything about it. I think Cathyar feared how academic Hetty seems rather than fearing actual berating. Hetty amazes me.
LOL missy !!
when the trolls get out of control, it's pretty easy to figure them for 15 and under, cos they dont spel 4 beanz
yes - hetty is a little scary in the depth & breadth of what she knows - sometimes she freaks me out
lol It takes us so long to transslate all this new speak it's easier & faster to write it out in full!
lol missy - that's soooooo true !
right on snowy !
25 left - where are they?
I second that emotion
hiding under the blow-lovin' fish....

hi Sheryl!
I give up on finishing this one...too busy of an evening to focus
how goes it stid
Hi all......the storm has passed and I felt it safe to turn the puter back on
Ty all!!I will love you and leave you now . Am hoping to play a little earlier tomorrow, was at a prize draw earlier for a Guide who is going to camp in Canada in July we raised over £600.
challenging puzzle today
Cathyar, ask for some CLUES!!!!!
Bye Snowy :)
what the dove "said" (past tense) is a co 5/14
duh, pass the fish, ty stid
passing the ha 4... LOL
Stid I went plant shopping today !!!!! (*^_^*)
sheryl, I slapped myself with the ha 4 earlier over that VERY WORD!!! had to ask, couldn't see it
yippee! *pout* without me?
I got some hanging baskets for my arbor and they look sooooooo pretty.
so......is the o 4/9 what a surfer dude says when agreeing???
oh, I bet! I love hanging baskets! Managed to save a few plants from last year's baskets, and looking forward to repotting when I have some $ for new potting soil.
I bought 5 baskets of Lobelia and 3 baskets of Yubi Summer Joy Orange :P
Yubi? a type of portulaca?
LOL missyem!
They are in the moss rose family
oh, then I know what they are. Very pretty!
I have a great source for hanging baskets a lady down the road sells them from her home. I got them for $5.00 a piece can you believe it???
can I get some help with co5/14 and co5/12, please?
I looked at them a one of the nurserys and the Lobelia was $20.00 per basket
that is a great deal!
co 5/14 and 12... what a dove says, past tense and "plural"
co 5/14 uses 2 double vowels'
hi, any clues on the cy5/18, please?
oops thats the co 5/12
emsuing, the cy 5/18 is latin pl of above
the co 5/14 is almost exactly same spelling only it ends in past tense
cy 5/18 is the first cy 4 with a Latin plural ending (e)
ty
thank you! all
stid........ the or 6 is elusssssivvveeee, help?
i'll bet this game would be sooo much easier if i took latin in high school!
Spanish for gold, missyem, then the last three letters of what you do on a bike (present tense)
almost any foreign language helps, greek, latin, french... they all seem to show up here!
(there's no "ride" here and co 5/ impossible, o already taken by the gold)
LAST three letters!!!!! helps if I could READ
use the other o missyem, there are two of them in this word!
*giggle* how do you show crossed eyes with emoticons?
Hi all! ro 5/12, please?
stid, aren't your sons hip to all that stuff? I'd love to know how to show confusion, lol
what cowboys participate in for fun, In...
Oh, duh! Thanks stidmama!
:-) no problem -- how do I break up your name anyway? there are so many letters I just mangle it when I try to type it all...
(>_<) cross eyes ??
that works for me, faeriekae!
hi there - just checking back in to see if anyone needs clues
Inari might work, but I'll answer to anything. :}
faerie, I *like* it!!!!
thanks my eyes all morning looking at this wild grid.
it looks like a Southpark kid's face! (>_<)
LOL It does!!!! I love SouthPark
hi all
Hi Nrkii :)
*whispers* did anyone happen to notice that 'stidma' is in the grid today? *tosses a WHOLE bag of M&M's into the air to celebrate*
me too, but I have to watch late night on reg. tv as I don't have comedy central -- spend too much $$ on cable modem for "work"
I did! I did!
OMG JB sure nuff
yes JB, *pours mochajavachocolattes to help celebrate*
mochajavachocolattes !!!!!!! May I join you :D
stid shows up in the grid OFTEN, but not her whole name *takes a mochajavachocolatte & snags some m&m's*
Wheee!! and 'moca' is in there too (oops, hope it's not a word) gotta go eat dinner - bbl!
* brings whipped cream and sprinkles
seeya jbsanno
See ya JB :)
bye JBs

hi Minski! *hands fresh cup*
(pops back up) say, does anyone know -- can we change our user names? I'm really a michelle who is oft called "mich" but not missy -- you can see where the Missy M. came from....
hiya! so glad to see a "smaller" grid!
hi featherbee! I was, too! finished earlier so here to clue if you need...
oh, feather, be careful what you ask for.... this is a DOOZY
oh, it is? hmm...i haven't started yet...
I think the only way to do it missyem is to create a new user... but perhaps you can ask Dr. God?
(sheepishly) and how does one contact The Creator?
there is a link I think at the bottom of one of the babble pages?
I'll look for it....
missymichelle, I have a similar issue... but will prob stick with nrkii
nrkii, if I find out I'll let you know?
(but first to finish the grid!!!!)
tx!
can someone give me a clue for the my 6 pl can't figure it out
sheryl...... it's magical, old spelling
sheryl, the movie my**** pizza
ah, heck, i started it...
go feather!!!
ty nrkii looks like i am missing all the ones i should be getting, lol
well featherbee, *hands triple shot cocoamochajavajavajavalatte*
feather, better take some red bull and jolt cola while you're at it
lol, awesome, thanks! recovering from a migraine here, so caffiene will go well.
oh featherbee, I am so sorry -- that stinks. I hate migraines!
stid, you are a remarkable caffeinator (chief caffeinatrix?)
this crazy weather is doing a doozy on me. i'm pain free now, but am feeling the after affects
LOL -- I know, and I actually rarely have the real thing, usually I go decaf!
In a lot of ways the aftereffects are worse for me. It almost feels like I "ought" to be able to just bounce back, but it doesn't work that way.
I've been caffeine free for 7 years and I still pine for it (I never gave up chocolate though, because that would be plain crazy)
Hi all, I have a question. :) After you have playedd for awhile, does it become easier to spot the "odd" words? I guess what I mean is, are they repeated frequently enough that after awhile it becomes easier? I don't use any word lists etc, and I think I have only finished one or two, and that was with major help. I'd like to be able to do it on my own I guess :)
I find that when I drink a lot of caffeine it makes the anxiety disorder worse, and after a while I am just a bundle of nerves...
cat, yes, you do start to spot them
hi Cat! sometimes it's easier, sometimes not! But there are almost always a few "new" words it seems, or a "babblet" that you just fail to see. At least that is how it works for me!
Can I ask what a babblet is? Are these real words?
glass half full ... glass half empty...
TY nrkii and stidmama :)
speaking of which, the monkeys aren't finding the sa 5/16...... hint?
a babblet is a word that appears frequently in the grid -- usually a "real" but uncommon word.
oh ok ty :)
sa 5/16: "speak" + opposite of ego
'm learning, slow but sure lol
can I get some help with D's... let's start with da 6/24?
thank you, thank you, stidmama! I'm at 3 left..... (dives)
go missyem go!
I agree with stidmama, Cat; some words you come to know, while others are surprises. I think your approach may make you advance more quickly than we list users. I don't know for sure, however, as I'm pretty lost without the list once I'm two-thirds of the way.
caffeine problem? who has a caffeine problem? huh? huh? huh? why you all looking at me???? my leg? oh, it always bounces like that. typos? if my hands would stop shaking, i'd hit the right keys!!! no caffeine problem here!
da 6/24 is da + "company" abbreviation +impersonal pronoun; then plural for the next, change to adverb for the next; the last da is woman equivalent for english "knight"
:) - hey, at least I have the last da, I'm not totally useless on my own! Thanks.. off to hunt!
lol feather
*jitters back to the grid*
ty Mab :) I never make it past two thirds of the way without help. Like now, I have 38 left and stuck lol
(me too, laughing, typing so**, so**, so**, etc.)
stidm - that word that you just clued is a good example of something I'd never think to monkey type. I think some people have a better sense of how language works in general.
ty, stid for da6/24-- never would have got it... going to look it up! brb
yes, and some of us are on throughout the day, picking up good clues while we hunt!
I agree mab, some people do have a better sense of how language works, so they know what to look for.
so, I still need a do 5/12 and 2 4/5's one of which I believe is the very last one
YAYAYAYAY, happy dance!!! io finito!!
okay, need to go think about dinner -- good luck
15 left and 20 or so minutes in which to find them
YAY missyem! woo-hoo!
congrats missyem!
do 5/12 is a plural of the nike slogan...
ty, ty for all the help!
yay missyem!
gotta go, missy will you help CadFan? bye!
ohhh good clue, thanks!
cad, I'll clue you -- same wavelength AGAIN, stid -- enjoy the dinner
okay I'm down to the last do 4/5

that's it thats all finished
a cat jumped on me, sorry
got that one too
sheryl!!!!! fireworks? YAY
ah - what I'm missing is actually the da 7/44
ty
take the 7.36 and change the end to the sometimes vowel
That did it. Off to the last 12 C's....
okay, let's go cadfan!
I have only the last cy
the other 3 are all related to each other.... cy + lumpy const. + 1 vowel, then 2 vowels, then 1 vowel.....
lumpy const?

hm mab, maybe mr. peanut is a manly man?
Gotta go get my son - will log on from home to try to find the last 3 co's

Kenny! I nominate you for the hall of fame!
Thank you, thank you.
hey leslie, i think we're in the wrong place - *sticks head out of rabbit hole* this looks like denial, i think we took a wrong turn at sanity.
To babble, or not to babble, that is the question... whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous nut-babblers...
or in the pac NW, the slugs and arrows...
out, out damned nut!
screw sanity! those people want me to pay bills, and go to work...

i mean 'theme'
no theme to the words, just for the icons. Can you guess how mine fits into today's theme?
kierlex, no theme to words, but to icons...
everyone throwing around the word nut is confusing me!
STID! you have to stop typing what I type!

LOL, that's what one has to do with all 1970 VWs --- met one of my best friends in college while pushing her boyfriend's VW bug...
mariposa - today is praise nut day, we have themes for our icons, so todays icons are nutty
If so, add a vowel to the end of co 4/6 above it

ge 4 is made of butter (ithink)
72 temple - think of sea shore
dinah? shore?
Im back...
that is gh4
the east co 5/12 or the west co 5/12, to
hey chic...what did you bring us?
the clarified butter
good point, mab - ah!
gh is clarified butter
hey chickie!
ar 6/24 please?
ar 5/12, please (not the passion or the smell)
what the crap is clarified butter?
ty all for those clues!
like body ar***, inaria?
whoops that could be either. what a soldier wears.
Have that one, LeslieAnn.
Hubby just brought me a piece of jalapeno cheese foccacia bread. you likey, Ren?
ar 5 - what you might wear in battle
Jimmy, darling - gh4, used in Indian cookery.
ghee= clarified butter. melt butter - let stand- skim off top voila! clarified butter
then you should have three ar 5s, yes?
Well of course
sounds fishy...
also a word in the grid
but just a little one
the ar 6 is hard to clue; starts like the 5 above it (3 letters) some times vowel + 2 consnants
ok, i give up on the ar 6/24 then. how about the co8/75? please adn thank you!
omg---so sorry clued by mistake
oh, thanks phan!
hi - here briefly - that battle stuff has US spelling - is that always the case?

Wassup, it was kinda funny
still looking for clues for (second) co5,14 and co5,12 - last two I need!!!!!
great, now i've got that song stuck in my head
Hi Temple - I've been busy lately. Trying to finish this one - need help with the co5/12 - any hints?
dianne, 1st one or last one?
pup, i don't have 'em all, but co 5/14 - to be in a vegetative state + second vowel?
How about...."Hey there lonely girl...........
now he's playing it really loud on the stereo behind me. i hate journey!!!!!!!
dianne: it's a bird - and it sounds like a dove's sound
co 5/12 has all vowels after that c. think the 5/14, but the one who has it done to them
i know you do. i love journey
temple the last one.
2nd co 14 what a dove did
jilli, mostly us spelling, sometimes it jumps into british, but it seems to have no rhyme or reason to it
Journey...((sigh))
so does he...... he's dancing around and drumming on me, and i'm glaring at him
co 5/12 would be what the dove is when he does what he does
Temple - thanks - I totally missed that one.
Go moose\
who hates journey??
yw! : )
co 8/75? chat's moving so fast tonight!
Oooh, thefish! Don't stop singing!
phandmd - thank you also :)

sorry to bother you all about US spelling, like color vs colour, dammit
OK, I'm dense... not getting the "what a soldier wears" ar5/12 clue. Sorry, and thanks.

jilli, it's ok, usually we're more helpful that the chat's moving so fast i think most people missed it. once in a while it'll throw in a french or spanish word to keep us on our toes
Molly was a punk?? Blasphemy!!

Miami 67 - Detroit 73 4th qtr
dr 5/12 - i think like a robot? stay in the 5th row
dr 5/12, like the ad 6/21, just minus the a

no, journey's WAY better than acdc. "You shook me all night long"
thanks! but why?
I love Elton John too. Man, I
franmag, di 5/18 is first 4 letters of the book we lok up words in, plus the sometimes vowel
FranMag, it ends in the sometimes vowel, and begins with where we look these words up.
di 5/18...think along the lines of hitler...he was a di******, now take that first four letters and add a sometimes vowel
oops- was gonna say nobody will sympathize with my plight
cuz, i like ya. :) you're sick enough to fit in here. (sounds like i'm being creepy, i'm not though)
Miami 73- Detroit 77 - 4th

fe6/30 is a plural for a large bone
lol, do 4/5, what you slam if you're leaving the house mad
fe 6/3- sounds like those sucker fish that hang onto sharks

ar6/24 anyone?
go inaria go
oh, ashley, i dyed my hair yesterday. pretty much purple. it's burgundy, but really bright
feather, body part + highest in quantity
h8 = end of the bed where pillows go
ar 6/24, first 3 letters of one above it, sometimes vowel, two consonants
Go inaria! I'd hate to think I have that jingle in my brain for no good reason.
sweeeet. I keep getting wistful of the days of red, pink, and purple.
ed 5/14 & ed 6/24
i like it, but it's really different

hiya wass - guess what - someone down the block from me has your vanity personalized license plate - i saw it this morning - 'wassup' LOL, thought immediately of you :)
what a thug, stole my name. :)
da 6/24 7/36 7/44
i love those ads where a camera man comes up to a woman in a supermarket and asks if she ever has a problem with feminine odor, and she goes "oh yeah! that's a big one!"
his parents accompanied him to ny - met all contestants - all were great. i never watched until i found out about bj. and at first i thought tyler was brian's son - blond hair...
da 7/44 - da + "company" abbr. + the ** girl + sometimes vowel
yeah, and when the room darkens and they zoom in on a woman who in a serious voice talks about feminine itching. ew
i know!! james is like, how do they get away with this??
Most of the feminine product ones go places I'd rather they didn't.
i wonder who would be in those commercials! i'm not sure you could pay me enough! who would want to be remembered as the vagisil chick?
where else would you put them, inaria?? oh, wait... never mind
best is when you're watching tv with your new boyfriend and they show one of those ads. not at all uncomfortable.
heeheeheeeheeheeheehee
wasssssup, like the friends where joey was in the ad for vd
i know!! with the odor one, its like everyone will know u as the woman with the stinky vag.
amen inariargenteus (dang, long name) you will be "i" from now on
if they are no good for television ads, why are they better to discuss on chat boxes
You can shorten it however you like, wassup.
yeah! gonorrhea or something right?
roflmao froelica
thanks leslieann got the 7/44 what about the da 7/36 & 6/24
hehe
sorry, can't help you with those, ronnie
lol LeslieAnn! I was just thinking of that! And then got to thinking about the 70s jingle about VD.
never mind, typed to fast
hey scout's mom - did you ever get hold of mtn jock?
ronnielee, those play along the same lines as the 7/44...
Just different endings & one's shorter.
looks like 7/44 is a plural for the 6/24
hope that helps you right back (take off the last letter)
oh thanks!
no; told mab a bit ago that he went to the movies and his roommate had forgotten to ask how the interview went. He may call back if it's not too late.

ronnie: he4 plus mo4
compound word, ronnie - part of your body, plus the opposite of least
got it thanks
ca 7/36 - most say it's like what you take pictures with, spelled wrong. first three letters same, then fourth vowel, double consonant, first vowel
nope, they had to do it together -part of the rules, you both have to appear on the tape at the same time - that's why i'm worried, there's almost a whole minute of just me, in her jacuzzi, sipping champagne (appropriately covered in bubbles, of course!) :)
helen, you should play yourself up as hos, they always have at least one girl pair of those
but thx anyway TO, it's got to be there by friday, so off it goes FedEx overnight tomorrow, nothing like waiting til the last minute -

Yep...good luck, Helen! The rest of y'all...good night! I'd better get something ironed for work tomorrow.
leslie - i would so love to do it, but realistically so many people apply, i don't feel very hopeful, although our tape , i think, is catchy - but i sure will let you all know what happens - tx

Plural of dr4/7
pluralize dr 4/7
oh for goodness sake... thanks folks
what does that mean? dr 4/7?
First two letters are 'dr', there are four letters, and it's worth seven points total.
dr 4/7 means a word that starts with dr, has 4 letters and is worth 7 points
ohhh
If you click the lickety’s babble clues link on the bottom of the page you will get a first and second letter breakdown of all the words. Very helpful.

good night jen
ty, LeslieAnn-- sounds exciting!:-)
nite jen
dianne i live in baltimore
Jack's a mean man with a gay neighbor and a waitress he loves in his own unique way.
basically it's like a treasure hunt, only they go to different countries, learn about customs, do crazy tasks and daredevil stunts, and the last team to each "checkpoint" gets kicked off
sorry-saw the movie, was wondering about the race show thing.
Ah, I've never watched that one.
Amazing race is really cool
its funny watching the contestants try and deal with people who don't speak english
ad 5/14 & ar 5/12 clues 7 left
ronnie - then you get those sooooo good hardshells !
oh, the one w/ his rudeness to a waitress?(Jack N.)
wow helen, I'm impressed. You would really want to put yourself through all that?
it is actually pretty good - i'm a bit burned out on reality tv, but it's hard for anything to be set up or super cheesy, b/c everything's going so fast and a lot of it depends on luck and how they interact with other people
had them over the weekend, very expensive though
ronnie - ad 5/14 is a + de 4/6
which ar 5/12's do you have?
okay-time to try to wind down, turn the mind off and get some sleep. Merp is already snoring.

i am tired n will soon be leaving you all, but I have to tell you al this. Tomorrow in my country is a day of pray. I am happy about that. We ar praying for a mighty move of Gods' Spirit in our nation.
I'm forcing myself to stick with only the lists on this page, not the Angelsong stuff, so I'm not even sure what I'm missing! I've got the 8s, 4/6 of the 7s.
clearly no....
lol, ren, everything you say tonight has a little creepy edge to it ;)
And I'm a transplanted texan, so I'm still learning the tenacity thing. :-)

pwinn, only 5 years in tx and you're a texan
ronnie, co + a milk****, misspelled. the other is a present form, not past
I've heard that; we held a party on our fifth anniversary (which was the same week my wife became a U.S. citizen, so a dual purpose).
I've been here more than ten years now.
ar 7 is a plural of ar 6 - a + sigfreid and *** + two consonantsin the top righthand corner
then you're a native!
son - you wond your spurs a long time ago then
the da 7's only have a different last letter
Thx, LeslieAnn, I forget to pluralize the words I don't know. :-)
whoohoo, fireworks
see, now you only have 4, 5 and 6s? easy enough! :)
congrats shade!!
The word that's been bugging me the most is the last f. I hate having 14/15. I'll get it, though.
leslie - can you give a diff clue for that co 6/27?
Congrats, ShadeEagle!
I've been totally ignoring the chat log, though, which is why I was dormant

Chi, take the first half of the he8 and stick it after not-pepsi for the co8
Then pluralize the ca7/36 if you have it.

Woohoo, LA!

RL, I assume you mean co? Think of the sound a pigeon makes, and then think of past tense and also the hearer of the sound.
co's soory
oh, the co 5/12 is all vowels after the c
it's c + double vowel + double vowel. make it past tense for the 14

really?? i'd never heard it before.
oh I see...
Or6, 21 clue please.
or + fourth vowel + last three letters of what you do on a bike
Used to be called "Little Black Sambo," fortunately updated to reflect more accurately it's Indian origin and called "Little Babaji"
apparently the gh is A clarified semifluid butter used especially in Indian cooking.
am I right?
Right, and the tigers in the story ran around a tree until they melted into same, which was used to prepare pancakes, of which Babaji ate quite a few. :)
hey I think I know that story!
Then at least once you've read the word! ;)
Thanks, LeslieAnn, that was my last word and it was driving me nuts!!
holy crap...talk about a blast from the past, it was translated into chinese in one of the books I had as a child....
