Since it's midnight, I should probably head to bed.

anti
hurshy is a babble superstar ;)
georgia, no need to return the favor ;)
now oops to me!
i'm just really fast at the beginning
indeed...
I feel dumb...
hurshy, i taught pwinn how to play gwhim, or more accurately, gwpim. he's a listless-er, too
oh... well i hope nobody is annoyed
chi i find it helps not to compare myself to hurshy :)
I was taught how to play 'ghwim'? What's that?
guess what hurshy is missing - or, guess what pwinn is missing, from your list of words and i was like, um, maybe this is the word you don't have?
Gotcha. yeah, that was pretty good. You only missed once that I can remember. :)
aite isn't a word...
lol
eh, if anyone is annoyed i will scoop them a big helping of "whatever," hursh
shame
use it in a sentence, chi
yo, I's got like fo' gs aite?
Heh, this puzzle tickles my ... well...
contraction of "alright" used in ebonics
almost almost
haha, oh i see. maybe it is 'aight'?

Well, that's six of your thirty!
Hi, LeslieAnn
has anyone been able to use the "tion" yet?
theres a q 7/40 which is plural of q 6/27
sadly i have not used tion

good morning, does anyone know how many words there are on this puzzle?
lol sorry unclear, up late you know
hmmm, if anyone considers this cheating, put on your earmuffs... would you mind telling me the fourth letter, hursh?
a definition might be more useful...
wait, never mind, i think my logic was wrong anyway
yeah that might be useful
Shocked that "nohit" is not a word. My 2 year old grandson repeats it everytime he gets in trouble for hitting!
no8 - gas or liquid
nonsee

just takes me a while every now and then
that's ok, it's late and you have graduation tomorrow!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
later today actually...
>_<
good point. what time?
Chi, it always takes me a while! I swear the clue could be "Cat on a Hot Tin R---" and I would still be: "Can I have the second letter please? I'm stuck!"
close to 1:40 AM
nah, what time is graduation?
lol
meh...guess so
oh...6 PM
but I have a brunch at like 10 or 11 and an awards ceremony at 1
I need to be in my car driving to work in less than seven hours. But I don't want to end the day with three words left, either, so I'm getting a head start. :)
anno isn't a word...it is isn't it?
in latin it is
damn...
nice plan pwinn :)
I knew it
Latin, Chi.
Priorities, LA!
If I don't make progress on this Qu, though, I might aim for bed.

sorry
still quite an accomplishment, under an hour!
8 to go now
ARB, can you tell me what the other 2 7's start with besides the two q's?
I'm in a hurry -- leaving with my kids and grandkids for a long weekend, so won;t be able to Babble for the next couple of days. Didn't want to miss another one
et and mi
Enjoy a lovely trip. Be safe.
Do you want the word count Hurshy?

Thanks all -- we will be near the Golan Heights and the Lebanese border. Hope that the Hizbala in Lebanon don't decide to take advantage of the holiday weekend here and send a few katushas
us too, arb! be safe!
Shalom and bye all
so with 100 down and all the 7s and above, i believe it's a good time to call it a night. perhaps i will be listless tomorrow. good night folks!

goodnight leslieann
Nite, LeslieAnn.
all right, hursh, i'll stay for your fireworks ;)

Man, that's fewer overall words than I still need QUs!
lol i'll just check in, if you start to suck i'll just go to bed ;)
hi all! how's the grid today?
almost done fran!
Not bad---jump in!
already jumped in munner!!
So all of the Qu* words have the same third letter? All the ones I have so far do.
munner, help me out so leslie can go to bed... one of the n's from the 2nd column... i have na4/4 and ni5/10
no pwinn, they do not all have the same 3rd letter
Okay, thanks.
oh wait i am so tired i got confused about who finished, you didn't yet did you munner
Ah, such misplaced faith!
ARB did.
thats me finished must get ready for work now bye everyone
which other letters did you have open, hursh?
right but she left
congrats ruthy!
good one ruthy
i need one S from each box...oh ruthy, do you want to answer my N question from a second ago?
have agood day
hmmm, i have 4/5 from the one in the fourth column... se 4/4, se 4/6, se 4/4, sm 4/7
yeah that is what i have too leslie
well we know we have the hard ones left then :)
i miss 2 5's and a 6 so no 4's.
my n box is the same as yours, but my other s is 16/24
oooh would i be mad if sprite sprited me now
i just checked, she's not online right now :)
and you know what she'd do, she'd sprite me and then she'd say, "you're just as good as i am hurshy". pah!
i just keep thinking snail is there
Finally! All the Qus.
Still 71 left, but I'm happy.
the done people leave too fast, there is no one to help me :(
You are almost as good as sprite, hurshy. ;D
no no mab, you know how she sprites me.
and you see how stuck i am with 3 left.
Leslie - I have all the s words and I don't have a 6/24.
dianne she was saying she had 16 of the 24 from the left S
dianne my hero, please guess which S i am missing from each box, either 5 letters or 6...
Thanks - I was so confused.
she spites others, too. she's a motivator (although she rarely says one is as good as she, which is true)
and i have so6/18
ooh ooh i got the left one
is it se5/14?
yes yes!!! ty dianne
monkeyed that sucker :)
woohoo, one (1) left!
N 6
i think it is likely a non-something?
:O
no, leslie, it's a plural which it told me wasn't allowed when i tried it the first time and now it took it.
done. am i the first one done with no list?
Congrats, Hurshy!
good job hurshy
yay hursh!
yay hurshy! fireworks!
ty
You've got my vote of confidence on that Hurshy
ok, i'm going for real now. i'll try to finish the listlessness tomorrow.
ooh the pretty grey boxes, night leslie!
Hurrah hurshy!!!
G'night, LA. Thanks again.
night leslie
Properly humbled once again. I had been feeling pretty good with 34 left.
we all get humbled, except for sprite who is naturally humble and doesn't need it.
lucky how that works out.
Imagine how humble I feel, with 67 left!
and me with 64 left !
I'm extremely humblied by the 'easy' sudoku I've just been working on for an hour. I may such silly mistakes - like forgeting to mark the twos.
64 here now too.
make
forgetting
see what I mean?
oh, and humbled.
oh mab i'm doing sudoku now!
but no marking of course :)
see how mistake prone I am?
well, I'm trying to learn marking strategies, so I mark. badly.
How amny words in the grid today?
132 lovely words
60 left.
hmm
me at 40
How many q words Hurshy?
11
they are perhaps less lovely than the other words
Here's a curious question for hurshy: Is your icon a favorite nut or favorite snack?
not a favorite nut, just a nut
Okay, I'm giving myself 10 minutes to find another word or I will seriously try to fall asleep this time.
hi all!
hi kierlex!
hi kierlex
Based on Munner's ten-minute rule, which I like, I think I'm done for the night. 57 words left.Nite, all!
pwinn, would you believe I found one at 8 minutes?
ok i am going to bed in FIFTEEN MINUTES. Will someone kick me out of here in fifteen? =)
Munner, you're a better babbler than I!
Now I'm trying to get one more grey square so that will be more than half gray...
hi all!
I make up all these crazy conditions when I play whereas I used to just find as many as I could, get BJ's list and head for a2zwordfinder.
Hi Atalante.
That's it--13 grey squares. Bedtime for me. Back after daylight and hopefully a good rest.
sleep well :)
like you munner - I try to get rows / columns / diagonals of grey boxes. oh dear!
anyone has clues for the 8 & 9 letter words?
opp of s 5/12
Hello Everyone!!
hi mrp
hi mr p!
Hi mrp - the grid is nice - jump right in.
it looks very fluid!! (splash)
ty, dippnall!
Morning all!
onpaki - think what a baby eats before they have teeth (or what anyone without teeth would be likely to eat).
morning!
ok i keep falling asleep... gnite all!
nite keirlex!!

dippnall gets *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*~*
ty kindly!
off to join the rest of the world! happy babbling all!
bye dippnall!
hi mrp! (just realised I didnt say hi when you first appeared!)
Hi Atalante! how are you going?
my kitten is trying to climb the windows, dog wants to go out and I've got the sore throat from hell ... BUT! I have chocolate ice cream and half the grid done so everything is well!
that al6 is one of *those* words, useless! al + measured amount of medicine yeah, I hear you! I have a cat, a dog and two kids hunting for food, no food to give them (take away time!!) and am buggered from watching the french open! I have almost finished babble too...
I know that feeling from the weeks of the Aussie Open!
That's it --17 grey boxes and 15 words left without using the list. I'm really gone this time.
lol munner!
hey just popped in to check the size - aha, small (& easy - i would think, with 2 s's) or small (&disguised as easy)?
jump on in helen, not to bad!
Heya peeps!
helen - it is about the easiest one I've ever played.
good to hear :)
i'm going to see how many i can find in 10 minutes & then GO TO BED - it's 2:40am!!!!

Good morning Haz, a nice one today for a change. Hi Atalante
My first word had a canine theme!
can i have some clues
so did mine, haz!
can i hav some cles
clues*
MOGE
jess - look at the right side of the bottom row :)
i got that
But there are lots of other words in that corner!
try it with a different letter at the end and then plural.
yay i got it
jess - qu + think 5
i got it
how do u get the pictures
tags
Jess - have you got the plural tops of jars (li4/5)? Take off the plural letter, add a vowel and you have a swmming pool, then pluralise it. It goes nicely with the Venice themed do4/7 and 5/16 which you already have.
thats pretty complicated
Just like me.... Take it one step at a time.
ok
drunk, party of one
hey
g2g guys bye bye
xoxo good luck
Bye jess.
bye jess.
cyaz
mi should be able to be put in front of the canine word :)

Eventually but did have to resort to lickety's list for help.
thats not cheating
It's called making sensible and timely use of all available resources.....
Exactly Haz
Can you tell that I use the list myself?
it's called 'help I'm running out of time' ....hi everyone

You may have, Atalante. That doesn't necessarily make it ordinary conversation, you know ;)
I need one more S. 4 letters. How hard can it be???

Congrats sprite!!!!
OK, who won the bet?? dianne, fmitch??
Thanks :)
we all lost
but it was fun
how many minutes was that?
'Bout half an hour.
it was 35 minutes
But it is a very easy babble grid today.
i said 34 minutes!
No I think less because we made the bet at 4:41
r do we start from sprite's "good morning"?
That's where I started, anyway, lol.
from the good morning
sprite I think i need the fish i cant get it!!!!!!!
so then we all lost.
My kids are home, I am gonna play mom in stead of babble. Have fun ladies, and please don't bet on me anymore?
We wont sprite, have a good day.
caitlyn - think about what people with no teeth might eat.
caitlyn: they are not very substantional.
later sprite, have a good day!
Good going sprite!! I was being conservative cause you were on the phone, preparing food for the kids, paying an internet bill and saving the world!!
Thanks all
hello everybody
Hi aleksia
its abit CHILLI here in adelaide
mrp - you are right - sprite is superword woman :)
Dianne -- did not find the clue you gave Caitlin...anything else?
kkiln - it is a compound word. the second part of it refers to something being substantial/dense.
is the no8 a plural of the 7?...(not that i have that... ) and is it a compund word?
the no 9 is the plural the no 8
Thanks Dianne...got it
yes thx danne
Hi rolin
and kate
hey dianne..*s*
oh the tennis is tough on Hewitt!! this match is going to go for about 6 hours!! No sleep for me!
mrp..davis cup?
french open
aaah..what round?
2nd round and has been rain delayed too many times!!
oh..pls..dont mention rain this side of the world..lol..its just been too terrible.. just as long as hewitt wins and henman desnt ..lol
hewitt is playing against montcourt (french) so the crowd is on the side of the underdog! is henman still playing??
weeeell..as much as hes ever 'played'...*ducking looking round for any english*...and the french can be really rude
i agree--they shouldn't have booed Andy yesterday--he played as long as he could on his injured ankle
they are rude!!
they dont seem to care about the difference between supporting the home player..and using that suppoort to actually interfere with the opponents play
they whistle and scream and spit and are gross all round .... but I think that is standard for lizards too
true--i like a lot of things about France and the French but not the sportsmanship (or lack thereof)
mrp!
what! I said it!!
lmao... i miss aussie humour
:-D
good morning everyone. Been lurking for a while, scratching blackfly bites, contemplating a rainy(yet again)world. Whar a full life!
morning eva--black flies? ugh!
morning Eva!
gramma-how did things go with the surgeon yesterday?
morning Eva..!
morning eva, uneaixoise and rolin!
hey fran
hi fran.
hey, fran
Clliff-you've been awfully quiet lately-or we just haven't been on at the same time. Everything okay?
mmmm, spinach and fish for dinner! god help me through this!
hi eva. one of my best friends is dying from a rare cancer. he only got diagnosed a month ago. he was supposed to have 3 - 6 months, but now has only days. he has pneumonia now and his digestive tract has shut down. also, another medical emergency with one of my cats.
clliff-I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Are you able to spend time with him? So hard. May he be free from suffering.
and is the kitty going to be okay?
both my husband and i are spending part of every day with him. this friend introduced us 11 yrs ago - he also sold us his house 7 yrs ago.
the cat will be okay. my big himalayan bit my 'tuxedo' cat zoey at the base of her tail. she got an abcess, which had to be lanced.
when it rains, it pours.
In tibetan buddhism, when one spends time with a dying loved one, much of the time is spent reminding them of all they have given, how they have been of service. It sounds like you and your friend have much to remember in this way. He gave you some of the most important things in your life and now you are giving him the gift of your presence and love.
oils
oh eva, now you've got me crying - but what you said was so wonderful.
yes I agree Eva
Hi all
cliff, give him as much love and commend him on his time, I am sorry he is dying... he must be so sad for you to see him like that. I pray he passes quickly and you heal from this loss.
thank you mr p. he has such an upbeat attitude about all this, even though it has been so sudden. he has been comforting all of his many friends who visit him.
what a strong beautiful soul! you can't kill weed! he is obviously a rose amongst the thorns of life!
This life, as humans, is very beautiful and very hard. As much as the commercials tell us otherwise, we can't avoid the pain. What we can do, if we have the courage, is to be of true company to each other-not an easy thing to do, speak the truth to each other, look lilfe straight in the face, warts and all. The at least we live while we live. Sounds like your friend has been truly alive. Not many people can say that. And of course the crying is fine.
i've really been missing all the wonderful people who 'babble.' everyone is so supportive of each other. but now i have to go do wound care for my cat before going to work for a bit. thanks again.
And tell your himalayan to get a grip! Or was he provoked? Merps' predecessor, Jose, was an avid huntres and an outdoor/indoor cat. She was forever getting bitten by chipmunks, etc (justifiable self-defense) and then getting secreet abscesses which i wouldn't know about until suddenly she spiked high fevers.
Take care cliff

*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*~* FOR JAC!!
gotta go .... sleepy time for me!! see you all later!
Now I know for sure it ISN'T a word, I was wondering why 'somnia' doesn't count. After all, if 'insomnia' is inability to sleep, surely 'somnia' should the the opposite?
I see--only one si 4/4 duh
There is only one si 4/4...the others are si 4/5.
'Bye, MrP. Sleep well. Thanks for the clue.
night mrp!
actually somni is a word! it means sleep!! luv ya all! bye!!
I decided to time myself on today's grid. It took me 1 hour & 16 mins. Pretty poor for a shortish grid!:(
Cheese & biscuits on my icon for 'Favourite Snack' theme today. Speaking of which... it's lunchtime.
jeez, jac, could you be any more Type A?! :-)
Une - Type A? That's my blood group, as it happens. LOL.
:-D
BGL you still here?
I'm off to eat. Got a hair appointment later for a total restyle at a salon I've not tried before. I may be happy when I return, or I may not... Such a lottery out there.
I'm here. How's it going
be brave, little buckaroo!
Pretty good. I just started the grid. Been putting the Marching Band schedule in my Palm
Although I seem to just be staring at the letters today. Not seeing any words.
Did you finish yesterday? I looked for you last night
If I have a bag on my head in my icon when I return... BYEE!!!
some days are like that.
YEah, I finished about 6:00 (while Josh was golfing)
AHA I wasn't around until later than that. Sarah had basketball and then we had ceramics
Is Josh on?

i only have 38 :)
phone
mi7?
ok and who is upset that it won't take somnia? if insomnia means you can't sleep, surely somnia is...sleep!
mi7 - having put something in the wrong place
ty Hurshy
somnia is a furniture store here. good stuff, too,
my phantom word is slang
it didn't take quonset either, quonset huts were very important in post WWII Pacific islands
bex - keep at it though, this one isn't really so bad. i only needed 4 clues.
mimisa
mimisa
maybe that's not how it's spelled though
you mean mimosa, lshult? temple...give the man a drink
oh temple, mine was "snail"
just missing 2 more
fran..i noticed the quonset..maybe we misspelled it?
* opens champers* *pours orange juice* here ya go!
i noticed quonset bc it's a place in rhode island but then of course that's proper, i didn't know it was huts...
i always thought it was spelled that way liana
al6 & an so5?
well anyway i better go make a grocery list before i go, but al + bit of medicine
during and after WW2 they used a lot of quonset huts..even here to house construction workers..
which so5s do you have lshult?
so5/10 rhymes with baseball pitcher ryan so 5/12 (2) add vowel to the end of prev. 4
seeya later hursh {{hursh}}
so 5/12 firm
{{bex}}
later hurshy
bye, hursh..Am also out of here to go do some AM chores..

I have 4/7. 7/40.5/16, 6/27, 7/40, 4/7, 5/16, 5/16, 6/27, 5/16, q's that is

Did you get all those q words as they were discussed? I have them all now
have completely stopped now thought havent found a word for a while
i only have 5 q's i hate q's more than re's :)
Let me see if I can help.
do you have a 4 letter that begins a prefix for 5
the same one that starts the 7?
yes
yea :)
then you have the prefix
add two different vowels for the 6/27 words
add an s to the second one for the other 7
then a 4 letter for stop
add a vowel to the 4 for a word that means very
thanks have 8 now
three that are related qu+what a penny is - first letter
then the plural
then drop the last letter and replace it with a different consonant
that should be all of them
yay!!! thanks :) :)
yw
I'm probably rare but I LIKE qu words
passed half way now :)
YEY!!
i supposed with qu words theres not many so not as many options
I like them because you can usually figure them out using the math
do u have both g's in the corner? are they both 4's?
yes and yes
I have all the g's if you need help

list
i must have mi***** my glasses--i can't find them
actually, correct usage would be a different ending consonant :-)
LOL Une. Proper grammer always! We got a letter from the kids' school yesterday that I'm tempted to red ink and send back. Embarrassing that a school would have such blatant errors
Is there only one eg word
ohmygod, when i first started proofreading years ago, I had abundant practice with out local newspaper!
are the o's obvious? i'm missing all except the bottom left corner.
Do send it back musicmom!
our
clue for 1st 2 an's pls?
It is really bad when the error glares off the page even when you are skimming it.
I think I will Haz. It makes me mad everytime I see it on the table
i once worked for a publisher who told me I was too picky and that a 5% error rate in manuscripts was acceptable . . . aaarrrggghhh!!
phandmd- think of gambling
got those the ones I want are before them
Extra clues for the qu7's plz.....
Une - did you qu4?
Afternoon all I think you should send it back too musicmom!
movieman -the first one is the 4 + past tense of taking in food
the second is a pl of the preceeding 6 (prefix for 5 +vowel)
Yes, whenever I saw a glaring error I sent to back to school with the correction. Couldnt help it.
The worst part is it is a letter telling us we have to pay net year's school fees before the last day of school (tomorrow). We just got the letter yesterday. 2 days notice is NOT enough for our budget.
mm, no but i finally got downsized so they could hire two folks straight outta school
Good morning Babbleonians:)
I once proofread an entire magazine and sent it back to them. It was appalling! It didn't survive for very long....
I'm going to send the money and the correction.
hey, tndaisy!
hey Une:)
who has ti4,4
wtg musicmom
LOL Haz. It is so good to know I'm not the only one bothered by this kind of thing. I know mistakes happen but this one would have been caught if anyone had proofread it.
ti4 cans of food
ti4/4 what you get soup in at the grocery
thanks
Hi everyone - the log is moving so fast I can hardly keep up! Mitch - what are the odds that the misspelled game of yesterday is in the grid today!?!?!
i'm constantly amazed at the typos in movie credits--just think what those cost and they can't even proof 'em??
Hi amanda, As soon as I saw the grid I spotted that, funny huh!
Hi all - On the subject of schools & misspellings - in our Memorial Day parade, a Lutheran school spelled Lutheran wrong on their float!! Arrgh!!
al 6/21, anyone?
misspelled game huh? I missed that and I finished. Clue me?
al + do4/5
I think the grid generator is spying on us!
thanks, une.
UGH Bugzy that is terrible.
bugzy, i worked for the United Methodist church and was constantly seeing "Methodsit"
and "Untied"
Hobious - are you reading this? Proof things you send home from school<G>!
k - I need the an 4 that's after the an 6/18
does anyone have the 1st 2 an's They are a 5 and a 6 before the abrevaiation one who doesn't want to be known
yep i've seen that one une
Une - is that like method acting? Method sitting?
yes I am reading. Thats my wifes job :)

OK, I'll try to tone down the curmudgeon in me . . .
NO doubt!!!!! Sarah used one in her report on Bangladesh for International Fair. Greg and I both got on her.

It's fine, uneaixoise - makes me feel not so alone....

does anyone have the alpha-numeric for the 9???? thanks.
hi faerie!
in terms of bad grammar/miss spellings (as one of my former students called them), the worst is the W in the white house
i heard that was a great book, bugzy
There was one on the widescreen at the college's football stadium this past fall. They fixed it about 3 games into the season.
On a different note, but re local signs, I LOVE the Nashville egg truck that has on its side: Yesterday's Lay Delivered Today
Al no9.60 it's a pl
camandacath --too too funny.
Hi Faerie

lol!
i'd love to hear from him

but i'm glad your play is going well too, musicmom!
what play is it?
Une--were you at UMCOM in Nashville? My sister works there now
Okay 32 words left and I need to go buy birthday party supplies for Hannah's class. Talk later.
I keep forgetting to move my cursor back
phantom word: tonnage
Bugzy - it's a great book. It made me realise that it is not crazy to feel sick at the sight of Chinese rib's in the shop's.
We had a run-through last night - it was frighteningly un-ready, but the first run-through generally is. We've got 'til Wednesday to get it together.... it's "Wyrd Sisters" by Terry Pratchett
Hi all. My favorite topic - grammar!
I have a class starting in a couple of minutes
LOL Haz :)
i loved that pratchett book
The title of that book apparently comes from a joke about a panda in a restaurant......
jbp was that for me
Bye MM and Hi Fiz
Finished.....Fireworks!
Can anyone help with TO 6,18
hooray for angelsong!!!
Yah, Angel!!!!!!!!
badcat, no but not far--Music Row area near Vanderbilt

help on the Qu740-not the Five one?
'Eats shoots and leaves' by Lynne Truss, amanda
Haz, just got an email from a local bookstore announcing a book signing: "An Inconvenient Truth is former US Vice President, Al Gore's groundbreaking new book" -- what's with that comma?!
where are you, badcat?
the 2nd q7 is pl of the 2nd q6
Ahh - that was the one I missed 'cause the log was moving so fast
last word, I am sure it is fishy, but it wont cooperate with my eyes! i need the second mi 4/6 for fireworks. I have the one referring to central
now in Maryland, Une, but I'm from Nashville. Went to Hillsboro ages ago.
A panda goes into a café, eats a sandwich, and then takes out a gun. He fires two shots into the air and moves toward the door. Perplexed, the bartender asks him why he did that. "I'm a panda," he replies, tossing a badly-punctuated wildlife manual at the man. "Look it up." Inside, the panda's entry reads as follows: "Panda. Large bear-like mammal native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
*~*~*CONGRATULATIONS ANGEL*~*~*~
The second mi4/6 can refer to weather, or a temperament
Good panda! Knows how to follow directions!
oh, wow, my daughter graduated from Hillsboro!
Uneaixoise - looks like the redundant comma is joining the redundant apostrophe in taking over the world....
Pass the fish!!! Fireworks for me
Yay inge!
YAY Inge!
funny you should be in MD, badcat--my daughter's moving there this weekend to start grad school at UMD!
morning
Thanks Haz. Cute joke Bugzy
*tries word, word accepted* omg...you mean that's a WORD??
Hi harp!
hi Jane:)
I think she'll like the area, Une. It's very easy to get around here, much like Nashville in the car-dependent sense.
Haz, one of my all-time favorites . . . an "editor" i worked with left THIS in a manuscript: Thomas A. Beckett
and the man had a Phd!!
off to walk dogs -- BBL

My name isn't sprite!
good going!!! LOL yea, I see she was on earlier, bet she made short work of today
i went through the log (very helpful for all those q words, btw) and am still stumped on the no 8 and no9...
FMitch the 2nd q7 is pl of the 2nd q6 - thats the Five one isnt it? Ive got that one its the other I havent got :-(

I see that Jacula finished in about 1h19. I just pootle along like you :)

hi temple owl
and yet, limoges isn't considered a word --harumph! (yws, i know it's a proper noun, etc.)
hi TO
Hi TO!
I like to think that I give each word a due welcome. Make them all feel special and appreciated and not just one of a crowd! (I'm just slow, no two ways about it!)
Can anyone help with AL 4,4 I have one of them another
tiny as in al** for the poor?
is there another al 4/4?

oops, sorry, tiny
Just the one al4/4 word

Then I thinkk Hydra is right, you seem to have all the do's. (don't mark my words though!!)
can I get a clue for the 9 please.
use do5/12 -= it's a compund word

I'm new at this but I only have 7 left and don't know how to ask for clues. I need 4 s in the first row, one each of the ns, on qu and that's it. Can someone help? Thanks!
back again as promised to give clues; I can hang for about a 1/2 hour or so
if you can give the 1st 2 letters and the number of letters and the value of the word, it will be much easier to clue
Jaianniah rearrange those letters
I have monkey typed till I am brain dead lol Any clues on the 8 and 9 letter words please? TY :)
AH! Was Babble down for a bit? looks like it from the chat log...an hour? Is that right?
hello folks, back to see if i can get my last 29 listless! cat, do you still need the 8/9?
Yikes! Sorry for the "redirect" problems for the past few hours. I made a bad boo-boo on the site and then left for the evening. Everything should be fine now, however.
yes i do Leslie, ty! :)
THANK YOU DR G!!!!!!! I was having serious withdrawals, and that was only for like a half hour...
oh thanks Dr God... finally I can see babble
looks like i picked a good time to come back, cat, it's an no 8/9 combo... something that is "not" a liquid, or a gas
ahhhh, TY leslie, I am in search right now :)

Phew! Thought something terrible had happened to my computer.
we're all so bad...having panic attacks w/ the site down for a bit (well at least I was) welcome back everyone and hello!
hi kristin
hiya LeslieAnn
Hi, Leslie Ann, there's og 4/6 and og 5/14 and on 5/10 just say the first one and then make plural for the 5
hi kristin - hey, have you been to babycenter.com? it was really helpful to me when i was pregnant and for the first few months of motherhood
yay chic is great
aw shucks....
hi firefly...yes, I think I have. They email you w/ an update on the baby's growth each week...kinda nice as we now count the weeks down :)
I'm missing ANs. The two that I have are (1) female author of yesteryear, and (2) against prefix
Help! ag 4/6, al 6/21
have you tried a message board? they have birth clubs for each month, so you can talk to other women pregnant/due the same time as you
jilli, ag 4/6 has two vowels at the end (or is a plural)
jillibus do you have the ag** who's a famous american playwright?
al 6 - al + a "helping" of medicine
No, but i do now tx
ag one of them ends in a double vowel and the other refers to how old you are
al6/21=al + do4/5
I haven't done that yet firefly but it would probably be nice now that I have a little more time on my hands...good advice, thanks!
ping, change the last letter of your "against" prefix, and make it plural
also, ping, if you don't know someone's name they are ****ymous
theree's an 5/10 and 6/18, an4/4, an 4/4, an 5/10 and an4/4
you're welcome - it was comforting for me to know i wasn't the only one experiencing pregnancy symptoms a certain way, or that my baby was acting a certain way - i was a really inexperienced momma, but i'm getting to be a pro!
back after babble withdrawal... :)
thanks, les - i missed the first 2 you said. the second clue is one that i have
hi liba

I have 30 to go
jillibus - this is not to sound rude at all, but is that your real age in your profile? if so, i'm totally impressed!
we're all so fickle. there's a mass exodus from sudoku!
babble is our first love, jane!
Leslieann, I went to that site gofugyourself; that was hysterical!
hi harp...I'm all for Sudoku (but only after I finish my babble) and if I have time
Did any of you have a hard time getting this website today? By the way it's Minveryork! How is everyone?
hello, Kristinc :)
hi minveryork!
we've all been checking back and trying and trying all evening -- how funny
okay, 28 left -- I'm going to the list!
it really is, it won some kind of webby award for best writing i think, the girls who do it are very smart
plus, it's about something very near and dear to my heart -- making fun of what other people are wearing
those first an's are drivingme batty. I'm sure they're obvious.
eva, like the white vegetable that you make a soup of, starting with ON
pungent vegetable
I tried to play Babble at earlier this evening & could not get on. Oh well, now it is working. Thank God! I have to satisfy my addiction everyday! I was going through withdrawal when I wasn't able to play before
thanks nrkii! Could swear I'd tried that, but must have been a hallucination.
sa5/12?
the site was down for quite a while, apparently, minver
dils
sorry!
you're in good company there minveryork
jane, a lunchmeat, sa****, take out the last a
sa 5/12 is like the italian meat, without a vowel in middle
Harp, sounds like meat hanging in the deli; take out middle vowel...
Hello everyone. Glad to see we are back on line, now I can sleep peacefully toward tomorrows puzzle. :)
hi inge!
hiya inge ;)
hey inge

aknitter, it's a no 8/9 combo... "not" a liquid or a gas
ty leslie ann
hi, hello, Guten Abend, buena noche, etc. etc. i was having trouble with the chat log at supper time and Dr. God told me to stop going for beta.babble. When I got off that one, the game crashed. I thought it was only me, who couldnt get back on. Cant tell you how relieved I am to know we all suffered withdrawal symptoms
I didn't mean to put a word in the chat log, SORRY!!!
21 words to go... still listless...
22 and listless here (though tempted)
hi everyone! need to finish and split - been trying to get on for over five hours
I felt so lost in cyberspace...
hiya TO
what letters you got left, kristin?
gah! already stuck on the an 5/10! i monkey typed everything, i thought. any help?
hey nrkii!
any clues for the long e's?
scroll down to 9:45, feather
I'm not sure but I think I might have lost some of the words I'd already entered.
well, I'm working my way through but I'm still missing 2 e's (and now after eva's post, I suspect they're the long ones)
et + two point letter + electrically charged atom, eva
sigh, of course! thanks leslie
i got barred out as well, a while back
Or was the tall skinny round building on a farm in yesterday's grid?
anyone have di4/5 and 5/12? another storm is coming and i have to finish and get off! nrkii - did yo have a bad storm around 8?

Temple, take the tv show America ID** and rearrange the letter for your DI words
TO, the di s are di + round vowel + stick
mab, se + three point letter + opposite of yes?
ty nrkii and inge and leslie ann!
Evening all. What a strange day this has been, with the website down for over an hour when I had just seven words to go. I've come back to finish (with fireworks) so now I can offer help to any who need it.
nrkii: my house was indirectly struck by lightening some years back. sometimes close storms make me uneasy
congrats hetty!!
bless you leslieAnn. Thank you so much.
hetty, it was down for over 6 hours for me
oh yeah! needed that se...thanks!
yo pepz =}
Thanks, leslieann. Need anything? oh nkriiu, my hear goes out to you. Have you finished now?
Temple, my mom lived on top of mountain as a kid, and she had lightning go THROUGH HER KITCHEN twice while she was there -- when I was a kid, she used to go to bed during the storms, while my brothers and I stood out under the garage
wtg, hetty!
i am missing one n from the top right? i have na 4/6, ni 4/4, ni 5/10
hi everyone
ge4/6 not aww ge88
hello andy
hetty, I'm good, I have 15 left, and I went to the list a few mins ago, so I'm just picking them off one by one
Leslie it is a tough one sounds like a small Hawaiian island but flip its fiorst leter M to N and then flip one more vowel
temple, ge + a short way to say bye
na 5/10 LA...it is a plural (though the sig. is not in the puzzle)
sorry take it right back it is different N
ty i have never heard that word!
oh good cause i was not finding it, andy!
ah i should have remembered. thanks kristin
My trouble is I don't know which row the n's came from in my completed list. But for your ni's take the last vowel from thei's you have and replace with a fourth vowel and a hump --then pluralize4
the m's have been conquered! 6 left!
temple, you don't run into japanese wooden-soled shoes everyday?
help please, the mi 7 32, please and thank you
okay then, I'm also missing n's (2) from the n in the second column...I have an 4/4 and it's plural

I can tell you are in good hands, so I will get some sleep...with open windows. Night, night!
wtg andy!
mad, when you lose soething youy often say t has been mi*****. Change the last letter to a hump
night inge!
mi 7 is when you have put something in a wrong place, lost soemthing
kristin, you are probably missing ni * 2,000 pounds and plural
now I am leaving!

kristin, it's an on 5, see clue below
duh! thanks nrkii...thanks Andy, had that one but I am certain someone will use the clue since it's a weirdo word
jesha, I dn't either for ages, but it's actuall quite simple. Take your so5/12 and prefix it with no(hump)--then pluralize
ok but on oh o?? if on then on + "verb to define something"
the first sa word means:To sanctify;to bless so as to protect from evil influence. I do not know about the other sa word.
o's are done...thanks for the help :)
yw

the seond sa word means a dish of stewed game birds, highly spiced
thank you!
2nd sl 5/12 I assume - it is weird, sl + last three letters from "non broadsheet newspaper" like Sun
i'm still missing four t's, kristin... 2 from each
sl 6/21 is then plural
which ones LeslieAnn?
temple owl, take your so words eaning not liquid and jumble the last 2 letters
hmm..1 and 1 for me, let's see, do you have both the to 5/14s?

betty, there are two qu 6/27, they are exactly the same except for the last letter
betty, one ni 5/10 is the plural of evenings, the other is ni+2000 pounds
qu 6/27 there are 3 -- two start with "5" and the other one is plural of previous word
anyone need anything before I sign off? And has anyone heard anything from gramma today about how she is going?
actually, my mr. came home very cranky, but he's better now
yes andy, I just got that one (finally, musta monkeyed around it half an hour earlier). Thanks!

leslie ann, there's one just after that, different final consonant
Then stid yiu perhaps need di's? there's what happens to the light in the evening, the anagram of "idol" an dits pl
stid-you need to make something less bright, and then there is a sing and plur strange word....hmmm, how to give a hint....like the face of a watch, but change the second vowel

Leslie...one you need is just the first 4 letters of your 7
mi 7 stid - to put something down in the wrong spot
did you get the one I clued a bit ago? mo 4/7 rhymes with friendly house pet
btw, my friend Jeny is here learning how to play. I will log her in next so she can try it out...

change last letter of the one you just did betty
betty thake the military word and flip last vowel to another vowel
if you just got the one nrkii clued, then change the last vowel (one ends in the 2nd vowel, one ends in the 3rd)
bettyanne, i'm sure you have the liquid, gas, so*** one... flip the last two letters for another, and then change the last letter for another
stid, first si 4 and 5 words are another strange set --
rhyme with first syllable of the icky stuff you clean off your shower walls
I did it! Thanks to all of you. It is exciting!
nrkii...I can't keep up w/ you :) well done!
stid I'll take a long tmie to decipher it lol

hi leslieanne, renfield, kristinc and everyone else :)
Thanks LeslieAnn. That was so obvious, I feel sutpid.
what might this "Pentecost/Shavuot" be? religious icons or something?
hi renfield long time no talk
leslie...flip flops? (or did you say you had that earlier)
nah, minver, it is a weird tense. if you put a three-letter prefix that starts with mi- in front of it, you'll have a 7
Leslie Ann, TH 5 and TH 6 are a type of underwear or a type of flip flop shoe
how do you find out the theme?
hiho Rennie!
how'd i miss that? letttt me seeeeee that th*** ( that th*** th*** th*** th***)
oh yeah! glad you got it!
jili, the two an's I mentioned are the first two in the list -- the an 5/10 after that is what you put in during a card game that involves betting
Actually, I have that word LeslieAnne so I don't know how I missed the la 4/4. Oh well, thank you anyway!

the et goues in an arc over the grid - the n is a circle n = all vowels
TY again LA - more coming!

jill...see point values in the bottom center of each tile, there is a 2 point tile attached to the t
the et6 clue, if u look at the grid, the letters have point values under them. Look for a letter near the t with a point value of 2
