was carol lynley fat in the poseidon adventure? I thought that was Shelly Winters mileu at that time.
gotta change-- too weird even for me!

shelly winters was WAY fat-- gained weight for movie!

Hi all! How is the grid?
eek, I feel for ya kier
wow - a very, very young bett - but the eyes still make an impact!
hi Cat!
this is the best I can do without a scanner. ;-)
omg kier - for 3 days - i used to get them - from stress, but never for that long
she's got betty davis eyes! :-)
LOL lib :)
Hi mymuse!
i think i've figured out one trigger, being out in the sun gardening. OF COURSE THAT IS MY FAVORITE THING TO DO. sigh. Three weekends in a row it has happened (and yes i drank lots of water)
i wonder if anyone will put up their real high school pics - i would but i don't know how to put pictures in this thing
well, I looked reallylame in my yearbook photo-- deer in headlights...
Mine's real :)
kier - did you wear a big sun hat?
I would if I could.
LOL cat!!!
not going to put up my school pix. nosiree
I can't see it yet, takes hours before I can lol
you have to refresh the upload page first, then it takes
lol, cat & helen!
no, helen. can't stand hats. not that i like migraines either
that;s a fine pic cat9x... you look so young
I know mymuse, but I can refresh till the cow's come home, no go, just takes my computer hours before I can see it
junior year i took the best mug shot ever - i looked like pure evil - i wonder if the photographer said something to get that sneer outta me? don't remember
Thanks kier, thats my senior pic lol
lol, kier!
I had that punk, purple hair thing going lol
kier - I used to get weekend headaches, sometimes migraines. Finally figured out it was because I wasn't drinking coffee and eating sugary things that I did every day at the office. A complicated thing involving yeast - I don't get them anymore.
i was such an ugly duckling in high school. and junior high.
did you break the camera, helen? -D
kier - when i had them all i could do was lay down in a dark room with an ice pack over most of my head & eyes - i surely couldn't babble
hmm, broll, that is interesting. though i still drink plenty of caffeine on the weekend...
We don't have high school pic books in Holland!
let's here it for Holland!
hey evryone..how many words today in the grid..?
lucky you, sprite!
mine aren't totally debilitating like that. i get nauseous and flushed and my eyes water. actually, if i don't MOVE my head it doesn't hurt too much but if I do it just SLAMS AND THROBS. I just muddle thro otherwise i would be in the hole on sick leave and etc =(
hey aleksia!!
211 words today
hey everyone!
2 so far started just now
no high school yearbooks? when did holland become a communist country?!?!
lol
tell me the don't have driver's license pictures either and I'm on my way
lol, helen!!
hi JG
lol sleeky - now that's a whole nother story
Never had them, sorry to disappoint you. Owww sleeky... you should see the pic on my driver's licence. I look like about 30 years older than I was and UGLYYYYY!
I looked kind of like Jobba the Hut in mine.
only, better dressed
sprite and others who do not yet know: we have new Babble Calendars for bithdays and icon themes linked on the second page of the resource guide.
lol, sleeky!
Actually, the pic is so bad, that when I am being pulled over by a cop I say I don't have a licence. Better the fine than show my pic.
hehe
LOL sprite!!
i look like i've been smoking a little doobage in my driver's license picture
well.... *were* you?
clue for teh an 8 anybody?
nooooope.
Kier - it turns out it isn't the caffeine, it's the sugar! Do you get the "sugar shakes" when you haven't eaten for a while?
any clues anyone?
LOL kier!!
sugar shakes= hypoglycaemia,, low blood sugar
broil--well i get kind of dizzy/lightheaded/nauseaus
well i had my blood tested and it was ok
my license pic is so bad that I get offended when I pass as myself!
lol - that's a good one lib
hey JGalloway
an7 - means placing before or in front
true, helen...
well, it's 2:30 am-- to be w/ me; nite, all :)
any help with ac7?
ok lib, good nite
i think i'll be going too - good nite everyone :))
kier - that's like almost a deal giveaway clue. I had the blood tests too. Read up on yeast imbalance and go cold turkey on the sugar and carbs. You will be amazed how much better you feel on the 5th day. (But you will feel like sh** till then - the Herksheimer effect.)
don't have it yet angel
*dead* giveaway
nite, helen :)
yep - good place to quit - 70 to go, bye!
thanks mymuseisme
the ac 7 plz?
clue for the ac7: high card + anagram of pedal digits.
thx angel!
broil, thanks, i will look into that. i tend to get those nasty yeast infections too =( that is too much info for all ya'll but oh well...
thanks angel
kier - one good book is "The Yeast Connection and the Woman" by Dr. Crook, although he tends to belabor the point and your eyes start to glaze over about halfway through.
i think i would die if i didn't get to drink coca cola =(
thank you broil, i will look into this more when i am more laert. added the book to my email reminders
night all, cya tomorrow
yw, and good luck!
reds
hi all...has there been a clue yet for the an 8?
omg, sorry
82 to go and I'm off to bed. night, all
oh! I found it. nevermind
Darn, I want 'recollect'!
i swear 'nads' was accepted as a word before
I tried that about 3 times too.
ohmigosh i got an 8 letter word ALL BY MYSELF!! Yeah ME =)
wtg kierlex! Gives a kick, right :)
yep... small victories =)
What is wrong with 'endorfine'? That IS a word, for sure?
hi all :)
sure, endorfine would make a phine word
Hey Ata! This is an 'almost there' grid if I have ever seen one. Darn, you are right kierlex, I was looking for the dutch spelling :(
ahh, well, i don't know jack about dutch spelling !
did you guys get hiatal hernia yet?
Usually an "F" for your "PH". Like in 'endorfine', grrrrrrr.
Well, figures, when we have almost hernia, we can do with almost endorphin.
my phantom word, screech, tried half dozen times already :(
there's a lot of gaelic words in babble i imagine =)
But 'recollect' is freaking me out here. I WANT it!
I have tried screech several times as well as sacrifice
testing 1 2 3
how about sneeze?
how about sneeze?
Bless you jilli!
good evening everyone - how is the grid tonight? Looks long
spproximately how many hours a day do you guyz spend on babble..?
ty sprite
hi jmann....
I live here, never leave
too many
Hi Jm :)
lol
JMann: it's fun, but very frustrating today.
too many hours on babble when i should be sleeping or doing the dishes or paying bills or or or or
hey Cat - like the icon for today
thanks Sprite for the heads up
Thanks JM, I haven't changed much, a little more gray :)
You are SO pretty, Cat!
THere isn't enough money to make me put my hideous HS pic on here lol
Why thank you sprite! :)
oh, i don't believe that - you look just the same as you did in HS
the glasses really do it
You're eyes are probably going JM, but I'll agree anyway LOL
lol
The glasses complete my ensemble :)
If you can't tell by the pic, I was very popular in HS, or was it just the tongue thing I had going, hmmmm
Ok. No sacrifice, no hernia, no recollect, no ocelot, no screech, no endorfine. I am starting to hate this grid.
good morning everybody:)
ok, 'nuf, back to the grid :)
hello jean
good morning jean :)
Crikey - long one - I'd liked the short grids. Re icon - well, my high school picture is in the States, so settle for me rendered as a South Park character :D
I don't think you can attribute that to only one thing, Cat. The purple hair, the look in that pretty eye, that tongue thing, the glasses... it's all working together :D
I know - it's the whol package - hair, glasses, necklace AND tongue
Why thank you sprite, how sweet! I was hot huh :)
LOL JM
Phantom word - hernia
yup, and we have more Matty :) lot's more!
Yeah matty. And endorphin. And sacrifice. And recollect. Join the club, LOL!
new phantom word - escort
Oh dear - phantom word city, ay? How's the eights and nines - real words or weird words?
solstice
take out a letter and you will get an es5!
Right mab,that one too!
The 2 8 letter ones that I have are real words
real words Matty, nothing too wierd
Morning all
good morning FM
Hey FMitch. Welcome to this teaser grid!
good morning FM :)
It is, I've just crossed the 1/2 way point and am pausing for breath.
i don't have my picture either, mattiegroves (had the school burned down before the yearbooks could be distributed), but this modigliani is pretty close.
we have a cereal in the grid, plural
oops, meant not plural
Hey Mab - is your name buffy, then? (the Movie and Season 3...) OK, I'm an anorak
The i8/9 combo makes me feel very humble indeed.
i'm not familiar with buffy, sadly.
Like I said, I'm sad... LOL
Does it now Sprite? Care to elaborate :D
That was a clue, matty ;)
Clue, they are in's :)
Yes...I'd guessed that. He!
the answer to which, sprite, i nearly typed in the chat
Hehehe, that would have been a shame for who hasn't found them yet, but it happens. All the time! :)
didn't we just have a discussion about that last night?
We did. We almost do that every day. Guess we all want to be free from the post-word-in-chatlog curse.
Got it...was a lesser evil than I thought ;)
I did love 'Charmed,' though matty, which I'm thinking is sort of similiar. So I'm sad too.
matty: it leads to the An8 as well :)
thank you sprite
I kept trying to plural that an8
I had a colleague who loved Charmed - I watched it, but liked Buffy better (and Star Trek, Stargate and the new Doctor Who rocks seriously)
ante
And rightly so. Only stupid enable doesn't agree, Cat :(
Thanks Sprite!
yikes, sorry!
anyone a fan of "balltlestar gallactica"?
Me, me *raises hand frantically*
only the original film .... I haven't watched any of the new series (yet!)
wellll!!! My son is a major diector of that, she says proudly, in fact he in Vanvouver working on an episode as we spaeak
Wow helenary, that makes you almost an insider!
is it your birthday, atalante!?
don't follow the week by week stuff. Its bigger in USA than Aussieland
I've seen most of Season 2, and Sky1 are re-running season 1. Given my backwards watching, I'll then watch the DVD of the miniseries. It's fab, but unrelentingly grim! I like Vancouver. Stargate's made there as well (and I've been to the city in 1986)
it won Peabody and Hugo awards, she says humbly again!!!
Who's your son?
look for his name Michael Rymer
You must be very proud of him :)
I will - it's on tonight on Sky!
That is really something, helenary! A director! I don't know a soul in show business and am quite impressed. wow!
oh great..he has done many many of the episodes. I met all the cast a couple years back in Vancouver. They are like a family now
yup! and I feel like having birthday cakes as no-one else is here to say I can't have cake for breakfast apart from pup and kit!
thanks for that. I'll tell hime. Thinks I am nuts babbling. Have to go and work for an hour. seeya
Happy Birthday Atalante!!!!!
oh just read its your birthday atalante have a good one
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! Hurrah for Atalante!!!!!
Happy Birthday Atalante - I'll come over for cake! What kind?
Atalante: Happy birthday to you Happy birthday to you Happy birthday dear Ata... Happy birthday to you! And you can have anything you like for breakfast, of course!
Cake for breakfast! Cake for breakfast! Happy Birthday Ata!
happy birthday too from moi
*hands round gooey chocolate cake*
Happy Birthday Ata!!! Woo Hoo!!!
Owwww.... *tries to hide her drooling*
love your pic, Cat! well, I always love your pics LOL
YUMMM! Love chocolate cake for breakfast! Happy Birthday!
Aww, thanks Ata! :)
Oh cat, that is precious! I love the little stuck out tongue.
Thank you Mab :)
Ata, I see fireworks. Must be in your honor! :)
woot!!!
Congrats sprite
Sprite? Already? wow! congrats!
I'm trying to babble at the same time as playing with my new toy - a drawing tablet for my computer, and failing to anything much with either!
ooooh! ahhhhhhh! well done sprite!
Atalante, happy birthday! I just added you to the Babble Birthdays Calendar.
How do you do it Sprite?
Have fun Ata, it's your day!!!
oh ata, that sounds fun.
Oooo, Ata - a drawing tablet! Can I play too?
sure!!! its *such* fun! it makes like *so* much easier trying to draw digitally!
aha! I have babble on one side of my screen and photoshop on the other!
Just by never givng up, amanda, LOL
100 all by myself! Is that anywhere near maybe halfway?
very nearly halfway!
Yes, good going amanda - 211 today.
I don't know how you do it sprite :) I have 88 left, you are good! :)
Well, not bad if I do say so myself. Are there any z's I need to set my monkeys to?
lol 46 words and half an arm drawn. I can see babble is going to take me all day today!
Snap Cat I've 88 left too :) No z words amanda.
No Z's amanda :)
Oh hurray for that - the monkeys can sleep a bit longer...
:) I am sure you will finish before I do Ata, I've been at it a couple hours :)
hmmm, won't let me REtee, grrr
I doubt I will - but I can try! :)
Good morning all. What's the concensus of opinion on the grid?
goode morning haz
oops meant to put good
A tad sticky, but not too bad, for me anyway, hi Haz :)
fun, Haz!
Hi Haz! I got the first 100 all by my little ole' lonesome - dunno about the other half though
I only have 75 words and eyes are slamming shut so bye bye
awww no Dr Hannibal
Ata, yes there is.
bye jillibus
Right - here I go. Happy birthday Atalante (I've just scrolled down the chat log)
hey haz - how's it going?
ty Haz!
Morning Haz Lots of words today but so far so good.
not exactly Dr. Hannibal, but the thing he stands at?
Ata, my mistake. no Dr Hannibal.
Hobbit is very happy today - everyone that sent me presents put pressies for the pup in as well - so suddenly she is surrounded by rawhide!
ooooooo good point amanda!
What nice friends you have!
everyone loves Hobbit lol - she gets more presents than me usually!
she's the sort of dog where people who don't like dogs end up saying "well I don't like dogs, but she's lovely ..." I suspect Spangle might be the same!
Happy birthday Atlante!
ty matty! *hands round what's left of the chocolate cake after sprite dived into it* ;)
Yes, she does have a winning way with her.
think its a spaniel thing. big brown eyes ...
And the way they sit up close to you!
... how can one resist!!
and the way they are just soppy as anything and love everyone!
Why isn't a person who is eclectic and eclect? Is there even a noun form of it?
eclecticism is the noun.
refresh for spaniel cuteness!
I used to think Spangle had a long tongue, but I think she's been beaten!
So it is, Haz - so an eclectic is eclectic and suffers from (or enjoys, depending on how you look at it) eclecticism... eclectically?
Happy Birthday Atlante
I presume so, amandacath. The dictionary also gives the noun as 'eclectic person'. It's a great word, but sadly not in the grid.
Oh, bother dictionaries! I hereby declare "eclect" to be a word!
Amazed to see that Enable is allowing both US & Brit sp of the word meanding "in the middle of".
Thanks mitch - had overlooked that one (or those two, rather)
Double points - we're not complaining!
LOL
off for now bbl have a good day everyone:)
Bye jean, have a good day.
bye Jean
Hi All :)
Good morning/evening Dianne
Hi Dianne
Afternoon Dianne.
hello Dianne
It's a hot, muggy late afternoon here. Good to be in with the aircon going.
Hi Dianne
Hi Dianne
Haz - have you been working on those stories?
I'm afraid I haven't - thanks for reminding me!
Hi Preethi & Cat
another good combo - The french for a particular style of hat or something you put over your plants to protect them + pl.
Those type of hats always remind me of the TV series 'The House of Elliot' - the clothes were gorgeous.
I am still working my way through the myriad of c's - how can there be so many!
Did anyone get all the en words yet? I am having a devil of a time with those.
How 'bout a "dirty old man" who "gags" while "drawing"?
I remember that series Haz, it was very evocative of the time. I am missing 1 Dianne.
FMitch You probably have the co4/5 meaning young horse and cl4/5 meaning stupid person. Our local paper once misprinted a football team The Carniny Co**s as the Carniny Cl**s. Didn't have quite the same ring.
I do, that must have caused a few red faces, funny!
Dianne - do you know which ones you are missing?
FMitch - en7's - I have the "back your candidate" one and the main courses one but I can't see the other two. Got any clues?
there are 2 en's related to each other, en plus ca4/5
1st en6 - make pas tense for 7/36
found the other en7 - put something in an envelope
Cat, have you got the en6/27 by any chance?
en6/27 is to put someone into slavery
not yet, have en6/21 and en6/18
Ooh thanks Haz
en6/27 - enslave in a real only fashion way.
You're welcome!
Thanks for the help with the en's. I have all the C words if anyone needs some help.
Just discovered that Wayne's fiancee Coleen is not acceptable in the grid. Good enough for Vogue, but not for here.
Just shows that babble has a little more class then LOL
I wonder if the footballers' wives and girlfriends are buying more cases to bring back all their new clothes?
isn't "coleen" an irish girl, like lass is a scottish one? or is that with double-L?
or as the press are calling them now - wags. The way they are spending probably easier to book a container and do a bulk shipment. Oh my acid tongue this morning - apologies.
The Irish colleen is spelt with two l's. Miss McLaughlin's parents have a variation of their own.
Germany - fashion capital of the world.... what on earth are they buying here, dirndls? Lederhosen?
The way the team are playing they probably realise they're not going to be in Germany for long, so they're making the most of the shopping opportunities!
Oh you've jinxed the match now Haz!
Looks like I'm stuck - not seeing anything more. Anybody have the 9?
Don't tell anybody or I'll have the wrath of England upon me!
Time for a break - am not seeing any words and must get out and back before all the Royal Ascot race traffic decends.
You're not attending yourself?
No but have been many times in the past, great fun for people watching. Must say the new stands are stunning and it has been interesting watching the site rebuild.
Is the weather going to be kind? It's kind of grey here.
It was hazy 1st thing but the sun is out and they are forecasting a good day, fingers crossed it holds for the week.
Dont know hown many punters they are expecting but the new stands hold 80,000 I think
I hope so - it always looks so good when the sun shines. Anyway, have a good day. I'm taking a break as well and maybe see you later on.
Byeeee!!
Bye FM :)
in8/55 and in9/72 - build off in5/16
good clue Haz--did you see the an8 that has a similar ending and means towards the front?
Thanks - got it now!
I'm off now and will be back later to finish. Have a good day everyone.
bye Haz :)
bye Haz, have a great day
anybody know what the ee5/10 is - I'm betting it's a stupid-head word!
verrrry strange or wierd
no, it means scary
tier
Oh, silly me - didn't see that other ee, was trying to make the word from the bottom right corner
Hello everyone!
Howdy MrP!
hi mrp
hello mrp
hello mrp :)

Hi jojo
wow lot of words today. im still ment to be in my dietetics exam
hi jo-jo, cat, jman, helena, amanda et all, this one is ok, right?
I have the i8&9
first 100 went fairly fast, the rest are so-so
it's a good grid, I just hit the wall with 57 left
i agree Cat - I hid my wall with 86 left, but still plugging along
I am too JM, why, I have nooo idea :)
morning peeps :)
Hi Micki

hi aleksia
Is there a C missing from Lickety's list? I have 16 CA's, 13 CE's, 8 CH's, 4 CL's, 5 CO's, and 2 CR's and the Tile Stats still say that I'm missing another C from the bottom right corner - but it's not on Lickety's list
carrie--i see select....
i've double checked every word and I have all of the C's that Lickety lists in my Word list - so where is the missing one?
jmann--sorry, can't help you, still randomly getting words...
JM, you have all the c's? refresh babble page and let me know what happens
there's 8 ch words?!? I only have 3!
ah - thanks MrP - that worked - so what I listed below was the correct count for C words
hi mrpresident are there any other babble type websites around can you tell me
it would be much appreciated
search for web boggle for similar sites
ph thanks mr p
much appreciated
anyone have a clue on the AC 7/32?
JMann - ac7 = tasting like vinegar.
Just arrived here and it was my first word. LOL.
thanks Jacula - i'm trying it now
this danielle woman is killing me!! I am very confused who is going to win!! It better not be her!! (and don't tell me if you know)
Thanks Jacula
she can make the choice and both aris and terry are sweating.... but if it comes down to jury, who knows!!??
okay Jacula - i'm not getting it, any other clues on spelling?
oh my god!
JMann - try this - top playing card + anagram of foot digits. (You were probably trying to spell it with an 'n'.)
ac 7 = first card + anagram of to4
ah, got it - thanks Jacula and Kateq
great minds thinking alike across the sea LOL
Kate - Yes.:)
I have to go and cry now! Terri was voted off exile island!!
sorry mrp - not that I voted them off
Oh man! He was my choice to win...now it is down to danielle and aris... and they are both dim! oh well... there goes the game!!
Good Morning All, any clues for the 9 letter word
my declaration of war on the Enable dictionary the other day has not been well received. After a coupla days of indifference, today it has dealt a massive blow: How come you can have "Alps", but not "Andes"?
hello eveyone!!won't be on for long tonight!!
morning peri
in9 - you will be feeling a little in****** if you didnt get this word. Build off the in5/16
cos an alp is a term for a mountain, an ande isn't ;)
so the IN 9/72 - it is related to IN 5/16, and the plural of IN 8/55
Dachef, thanks got it right away, thanks JMann too
HOw many words are there today?
Where are the Andes? On the end of your armies! Ha!
jemma - there are 211 today
Jemma - 211

Hi Kateq

9 A's = AC 7/32, 4/5, 4/5; AC 5/12, 6/21; and AN 4/5, 4/4, 8/40, 5/10
an 5/10 and ac 4/5 any clues JMann?
ac 4/5--scourge of teenage faces
ac4/5 mreasure of land
AN 5/10 = similar to AN 4/4, but add another consonant before the final vowel
ty Jmann--my a's done
Got it Thanks Jmann, Kateq
yw
ac7/32 jmann???plz
AC 7/32 = tastes like vinegar = the high card + a number (spelled differently) + the ocean (minus the last letter)
a low number
mickie - did that make sense?
danielle is begging, and aris is sorry for everything... they both played it the best way
lol yeah an no,,,just messin on pen an paper
ok - if it wasn't clear, just let me know
any clues for co7,32 cr7,40 en7,36 ?
morning all. has anyone clued the 8s or 9 yet?
cr 7 is plural of cr 6/27--religous christmas display
CO 7/32 = what you sleep on in the army + one of the Great Lakes
cl 7/40 and fe 7/48?
oh yes, I mean no, I mean yes, I mean no, I mean yes... no, actually no! and the survivor panama winner is ...aras won!! oh well! we were the last to know!
co 7 builds on co 4/5
EN 7/36 is the past tense of EN 6/21
cl 7 is plural of cl 6 -- a hat
Great clues Kateq and JMann! Thanks.
CL 7/40 is the plural of CL 6/27
yw
Jmann--a clue for the en 6?
yw charm
Thanks Kateq and Jmann
the FE 7/48 I do not have
yw preethi
neither do I have the fe 7
kateq - there are 5 EN 6's - do you know which one you want?
clue for cl6?
the one that is related to the en 7, please
in order, there is EN 6/21 = EN + Sherlock Holmes worked on a ****, or another way to say that you spied on a house in order to rob it
then make it past tense for EN 7/36
TY!
g'morning
the next one (alphabetically) would be EN 6/21, which is the plural of EN 5/12 = sounds like someone who finishes something = the finish line is the *** of the race
ok, time for bed!! enjoy the grid BYE!! (waving!)
then there is the EN 6/18 (and it's plural EN 7/28) = what you eat at a restaurant for dinner
tc mrp :)
thanks mrp - have a good nite
anyone have a clue for EN 6/21? (not the one I just clued, but the other one)
sorry not I--not yet anyway
mornign papa
how's it going?
good, down to the last 43 words - and struggling a little
i'm at 37 left at the moment . . . i haven't gotten a new one in a good while
papa - do you have the EN 6/21?
hi everyone
morning saphyre
JMann - en6/21 have you got the one after the 7/32?
*2nd 7/32
no, that's the one I'm looking for
well, one of the one's i'm looking for
OK - to finish + finger jewelry minus last letter.
a pro golfer might en 7/32 a product by wearing it when they play
thanks FM - I swear I tried that
Hi saphyre, nice clue. yw JMann
hi fmith , ty
thanks saphyre as well, but that one I did have already - but great clue
I dont have the other yet
Hi - another Marylander, here. :)
Hi Krista :)
en 7/32 en + cl 5/12 to build a fence around
good morning everyone
ty Kateq
morning anniebrook
saph - for the first EN 7/32 = when paying your credit card bill, you EN***** a check
or what kateq said
I have that one Jmann but thanks
good mornign annie
Morning all, en6/27 anyone, it was clued for me earlier but I still can't find it
hi annie
Well...lunchtime, so a few minutes babbling. I have the nine, two eights and two sevens. A long way to go!
morning, FMitch
sole
Sorry!
hi matty
hi matty
en6/27 - en & servant/lower class
fmitch - try EN + another word for slave (think tsarist russia)
Woohoo - the russian connection worked ty!!!
no problem
ty Papa too
yw
hi fm
hi everyone - whats the count today?
211
lots of plurals
oH my - I have a long way to go1
anyone have a clue for the EC 6/24?
i've only found 5
i've never been so frustrated over a 4 letter word
four letter words come easily to some of us ;)
LOL Krista - but most of those are unpublishable.
ec6/24 - e & part of the face + a vowel
that's about the best i can think up for it lol
or e & ch4/6 & a vowel
oh, I don't know - I've been surprised at some of them Babble allowed! There was a really naughty one the other day, starting with t!
Ha - yeah , and that's the one my 15 year old daughter found
good one Papa - and the def is the pl for a type of sea urchin, or a part of a doric column. Yes Krista I was surprised by that one too.
I'm new....what do the tile stats mean?
that word was yesterday and it surprised me very much
ah, the Enable dictionary again. You can have the c-word, but not the w word, whch often pops up. (no pun intended)
thanks Papa - got it - I tried the other two vowels around there and nothing worked!
LOL Dachef
LOL! That figures, doesn't it (about your daughter). Glad I'm not the only one...I always try the "bad" ones and was shocked that one was actually counted.
Pfft! Good pun, intended or not.
chiley - the tile stats are how many words start with those letters in those positions - so for example, the E in the top left corner has no words that start there, same with the one in the right corner - but the N next to it has 7 words that start there
Chiley, they tell you how many words start with each letter. Like if it says: T 4/16 then it means that there are 16 words starting with that letter and you have 4 of them
Chiley, just to l,et you know unless you become a pro user the tile stats dissapear after 14 days.
clue for ca and ch 7/36?
ch7/36 - singular of type of serial or a statement of greeting/leaving
ca7 - when approaching Babble, always adopt a ca* ** attitude. Build from that!
CA 7/36 is the plural of the CA 6/24 above it = means honesty (or the writers of musicals, but spelled differently - CA**** and Ebb)
Also the last song on Tull's Broadsword and the Beast album
great clue, jmann
thanks annie
man, i'm tired . . . that should be "cereal" in my clue
lol
also, the CH 7/36 is the singular form of a type of cereal
hey annie wht up
how are you, peanut?
good how many words did u find
just started, a measly 39
I'm having way too much trouble with the n's
same here krista
I can't find any of the Ns, oddly enough.
i've got two, from the n on top, but that's it
starting with the top N, a female relative and plural
i have all the Ns if anyone needs clued
Thanks Jamnn, Dachef, PapaGLP
How about the ni 5 & 6 - my sisters daughter + pl
Clue away!
ooh - good clues, ta!
Ta for that!
na5/12 - n & a measure of land area
hmmm.....
na5 - mother-of-pearl, ne4 - a born se4 (lowly servant type), no4 & 5 - nobbly thing/s, no4 - 'a no*'s as good as a wink to a blind horse', no4 - French for black.
French for black n4 - crops up quite regularly.
the measure of land area is also in the puzzle
as a4/5
got that one -always find it weird what foreign words are allowed/aren't allowed..frustrating when I find a good one
Thanks for that - most of those I SHOULD have found if I weren't such a moron at times, but some (like the ne) I'd only have found by monkey typing.
the land one has me stumped...
any clues on the LE 5/14 or LE 7/36?
na + ac4 - it means mother of peral
Pearl, that should say
Le5/14 - a dirty old man.
Le 7/36 - lots of dirty old men.
got it now! ta!
awesome clues. Thanks guys
off to work...the bosses are away, I will Babble all day
ok, I saw that clue earlier, but I just couldn't see how to get it - thanks matty
See you Krista.
Catch you later! Thanks for the clues, all.
bye krista
Any clue for EN 7:32 please?
Which one, Sue?
there are two of them
There's the one that means to surround, for example, and the one that means to support
After EN 7:36
en a check
en a yard
when you mail off your credit card payment, you EN***** a check
Thank you!
yw
Sue, can you clue the en 7/36?
matty - its the past tense of EN 6/21
en7/36 - past tense of en6/21 which means to put inside of something
I have one 6/21, which I don't know the meaning of...
there are three en6/21s
this is the past tense of the first one
EN 6/21 - ends with what you put all of your clothes in when going on a trip - a suit****
Ah. I only have one.
then take that ending and make it past tense
Now I have two (and the associated 7)
that's all the EN 6/21's
did anyone get the ET 6/18?
Isn't there three, didn't you say? I have the one you just clued (to put something inside something), I have the one I don't know the meaning of...what's the other?
Hi all
hi tiny
hi tiny
there are three matty . . . i'll try to clue both of the other two for you
correct, i wasn't looking carefully - sorry
I am missing one en76/21 in that ca4
et 6/18=forever poetically
en + what you do to a beverage and remove one consonant
these are terrible clues but the definitions didn't help me much
i don't remember the clues that got them for me
morniing, all
thanks kate
I've got the en(what you do to a beverage)
morning, angel
yw
the other is en6/21 - the novel, ****** game
changes have beeen made to the Resource pages, FYI
novel is by Orson Scott Card
papa, can i have another clue for the novel ---en
so, alphabetically, there is EN 6/21 and it's past tense 7/36 - which we just discussed
then en6/21 - novel, ****** game by Orson Scott Card
then the beverage one
dont know that novel, papa.....sorry
hmm, okk, en6/21 - add an s to en5/12
i don't know if it's a plural or not
then there is an EN 5/12 and it's plural EN 6/21 = try thinking of the finishing line of a race is the *** of it + to make a mistake is to *** (minus the last double letter)
en6 - people who finish
yeah, i guess that would be a better clue lol . . .
OK, I feel stupid!
I know the novel!
got it, thanks, Jmann
then, there is the EN 6/21 = this is the *** + what you put on your finger minus the last letter
those should be the three EN 6/21's
yw annie
That's all of them - thanks!
have that one also, thanks to you
then, to further confuse everyone, there is a EN 6/27 = EN + a Russian slave in Tsarist times (or another spelling of what the Beach Boys sang about - ****ing in the ocean) and then an EN 6/18 = what you eat for dinner at a restaurant and then it's plural
i have 10 en's. that should be all of them, i hope
sorry annie, but there are 13
13 x en in total Annie
*dvies back into grid*
found another one! *plop, back in grid*
go annie, just 2 more
come on annie :)
1 more 1 more 1 more
:)
What you eat for dinner?
well, the name of the whole course
what you eat for dinner . . . another name for your main course
mornin babblers!!
hi evan

morning evandine
i'm stumped on this last one . . . fe6/27
be back later, keep on babblin!

fe6/27 untamed, wild
I'll see everyone a little later today - good luck with the grid
oh, wait, a clue, i'll stay for another moment
:-D

hi evanadine

oopsie! yes fmitch, i DO feel F4/7 ;) guess i should check out the grid before i type, eh?? hehe
;)
later all I need some sleep
Fireworks! Whew! That was tough going! Anyone need one of my notoriously dubious clues before I go?
how many words today?
211 Steph.
thanks!
fireworks! :)
First 100 or so, nae bother, the rest, different story!
Congrats Dachef and PapaG
congrats Papa!
How about a clue for the sc6/21 please?
A Vespa in a kind of sc***** - take away one of the vowels.
sprry, IS a kind....
Got it straight off thanks.
sorry.....(!)
you're all typed out Dachef :)
Yup - Im getting excited - plane leaves for Spain in 2 hours! Ah, sun, sand, beach, mediterranean weather and beautiful Catalan girls. Sigh.
just rub it in y dont u dachef lol
have a great time, dachef!!
better go! laters!
have a lovely time :)
Don't forget the old mantra - tickets, passport, money (oh and suitcase if you must). Have a great time.
dont need tickets - can check-in for the airport over the internet now. Only have to leave my house 45 mins before the flight is due to leave! Great!
Brill!!!
does anyone have a clue for the en 6/27?
Hello ylleria - to put someone into slavery en6/27
en + Russian slave
ah, finally got it - thanks haz/anniebrook :)
Newbie here....how do I read your post? what does ed6/27 mean?
thanx haz an annie :)
means a word that's 6 letters long that's worth 27 points that begins with "ed"
Afternoon Haz chiley - have a look at Anglesongs link under Friends of Babble - tells you everything you need to know
en6/27 means a word of six letters which yields 27 points. A good starting point is to read Angelsong's resource page (under Friends of Babble at the bottom of the page) And welcome!
thanks
Good afternoon FMItch - I'm getting a few more words before going to get those injections! I was watching Ascot - it looks wonderful.
ooer more injections! YEs it is quite something. When I went out this morning it wasn't too bad but I took a wrong turn and ended up taking 1/2 hr to do 2 miles but it's great to see the pagent of it all.
They make a lot of the roads one way in the morning and reverse them in the evening so next time I can get out easliy is going to be tomorrow morning :)
I'm not that interested in the racing, to be honest, but the clothes, the racecourse buildings and Clare Baldings voice keep me watching.
morning all. if "antler" is a word, why isn't "antle"? :P
And I forgot to put an apostrophe in Balding's.....
Same here, even when I used to go to Ladies Day it was for the experience and the people watching.
good afternoon everybody:)
We were speaking this morning about the WAGs in Germany - a group of them spent £57,000 in the space of an hour yesterday!
afternoon jean :)
Good afternoon jean, back for your afternoon dose of words?
hi all again :)
That's obscene but I guess when your other half is earning mega bucks. Hey jean
too right haz done the shopping etc now time to chill
I wouldn't mind so much, but half of them look as though they are wearing belts for skirts. You don't get a lot of material for all that money!
hi ata:)
the one thing money can't buy in clothing is taste, Haz
That's so true!
Hi Atalante - how's the birthday girl doing :)
spent half the morning lolling around in the garden with Hobbit, spent the other half playing with New Toys - great fun!
happy birthday Atalante :)
Sounds lovely Ata.
LOL Haz and Ornith - just seen you earlier posts. Sooo true.
I'm back! This is like reading an episode of 'Grumpy Old Women'. ROFLOL. (p.s. I agree!)
I think Jordan and Peter Andre's wedding is a perfect example of what we mean....
is it just me, or are these en words really tough?
heck, all the e words
Ornith, there were a load of clues for the e's an hour or 2 ago, if you go back through the log
oh, thanks
are the i's obvious? not sure if i am tired or oblivious this morning but i haven't found a one
i can't give you that INFOrmation :P
kaurie - there are 5 i's and they all begin the same.
infer
in5/16 is to surmise. The larger 8 and 9 words build off it, but are not related in meaning.
oops wrong box
had a bad feeling it was sitting right in front of me! thanks!
in6/30 - relating to spread of disease
oh, Atalante, happy birthday!
Happy Birthday, Atalante.
ty Ornith! and Jac!
happy birthday atalante:)
(going back through the log for those E clues, hee.) aren't drawing tablets great?
haz you are amazing, you can clue faster than i can search!=)
I hope the clue helped!
thanks Haz, back to vaccuuming...
hello everyone! happy birthday, atalante!
hi templeowl
Hi TO!!!
Good morning everyone!
hello reese
Hello Temple!
hi TO!
happy birthday, Atalante!!!!
Happy cake day, Atalante :)
FIREWORKS! I am done.:)
Happy birthday Atalante, your birthday cake is in my icon. Hope it is OK!
yay, Jacula!!
way to go, jacs!
What does fireworks mean?
aw thank you ExWren :)
congrats jacula
reese's: when we finish the site gives us fireworks to celebrate...
phantom words of the day: friend & hector
reds
hector is mine also
I have finished twice but never received fireworks :(
oh cool! Thanx for the info templeowl!
and lector and elect
My phantom words are 'hector' and 'hernia'.
got an 8 :)
Stephie - You have to go Pro to get fireworks.
ohh!
aw stephie...pros only but if you let us know we will give them to you as we did before the site changed!
they used to have fireworks for everyone. now it doesn't even say you're done if you're not pro :(
i keep seeing cheese in the corner
Stephie - We will give you fieworks if you say when you're done.
kaurie - that cheese is a trap. LOL.
normally I don't get done!!
'fieworks??' I meant fireworks.
recollect is one of my phatoms
and we are like rats god knows - we are hooked on babble as surely as lab rats! LOL!
also oracle
good afternoon (?) Jacula! hi All!
be back this afternoon, bye all
I got halfway last night, and busy day today. Bye Annie!
hi stidmama, morning here
Anyone need any clues before I attempt to continue cutting the hedge in a strong breeze?
jac- you could be right-maybe that distracting cheese was keeping me from seeing the i's
Be back later!
hi Ornith morning here too -- later Haz!
Bye Haz
'Bye Hax & Annie. Hi Stidmama.
tell me, am i sick because i'm happy the puzzle is over 200 words today :)
bye haz
hi stid!
Haz NOT Hax! I have sausage fingers today!
LOL, just looked at your icon Jacula! Ack!
hi Temple Owl! Is it your birthday?
Hi stid and good morning!
pabtrek - erm, can't do that...
pabtrek - just means you are a true babble adict.
she COULD tell you that pabtrek, but that would mean admitting she is also...
i was afraid of that FMitch
now ME, for example, I play only because I enjoy it. I could stop any time. REALLY!
no it's atalante's!
I was reading the Babble Store thread in BabAnon yesterday. Very funny and very inventive!:D
same here sidmama, I can stop any time.
oh -- Happy Birthday Atalante!
keep telling yourself that stidmama :D
aw, nads isn't a word?
right..... FMitch :-)
Morning...
happy bday atalante
actually, the Nads were the sports team at the art school right next to my college.
hello cat
hi
specifically because they would then shout/put up signs: go nads!
hello cat
hello TO
I can stop anytime... not my fault my doctor looked at me strangely when, on leaving his surgery, I pointed to the eye chart and said, 'That says chocs'.;/
ROFL Jacs
hi peanut and jean
ornith: add that one to the list of words enable doesn't recognize
BTW -- I don't think you Union Jack folks were on yesterday when I made a total JackA** of myself... I didn't realize that movieman and Punster's flags were the English flag... I got all confused. then I eddacated myself about the flags of Great Britain and finally know which is which!
lol jacs
hello all. anyone clued the 8s or 9 recently?
argh! the an8 is driving me nutz!
I did see that bit in the log stidmama - we all live and learn.
an 8 is opposite of "outside" word used for buildings...
cat2: same ending as the in8; means front
Stid - so you now recognise the union flag, the flag of St. George, the flag of St. Andrew, the Welsh dragon, and the flag of St. Patrick. Good!
Yep. AT least I hope I do! AND I know that the Union Jack is NOT symmetrical... because of some heraldry rule about predecence.
or did I mean preCedence?
wow, that's better than me. I know St. George, but that's it.
Impressed - you have been doing yr homework.
okay... more coffee before working on those clues...tx stidmama and ornith
not good that I am already transposing letters this early in the morning! LOL
ok, everyone....opinion time: I've brought the Babble Birthdays Calendar "onboard" the resource pages site via a javascript. Go see what you think, and tell me if you like it enough for me to keep it and add the icon calendar in the same manner. There is still a link to the original calendar, also. Which do you prefer?
All chat and no searching still leaves me with 29 words to find, *dives back into the grid* :)
So I have a question FMitch/Jacula... do people fly the country flags as well as the Union Jack? In the U.S. many people fly their state flags as well as the U.S. flag.
just a sec Angelsong! brb
Stidmama - The Union Flag is called the Union Jack only when flown on board a ship.
alright, caught up with the chatlog now. time to look at something besides those Es
perhaps you should go eat a bowl of honey nut c 7/36
Stid - Yes, there are many St. George's flags being flown at present.
stidmama, I definately saw the St. George flag all over London when I was there. But that was about this time of year.
fier
You see a lot of the St Andrew's cross in Scotland - rarely the Union flag ;)
yo
Opps - sorry got caught monkey typing :-)
right. sorry -- I tend to use Navy terms (flags are at half mast for me, even on land...)
dynadan: LOL! that is a wrod but gonads isn't ?
Can't move for the English flag here at the moment :-) There is a joke going around about telling how bad a driver the person is by the number of flags on the car.
Angelsong -- I like the one that comes up in your pages instead of popping up a new window. I think it's "neat" and orderly. And there is little enough of that in my life! :-)
temple owl, I think they intend the ch7 as the british greeting
movieman said it was in honor of the world cup because England is competing.
and I dunno if it takes gonads, it just doesn't take "nads".
Stid - Here's another titbit you might want to know... Wales, rightly or wrongly, is represented by the English flag on the Union Flag. You may have noticed the dragon is not on there. This is because the Union Flag was made in 1606 and Wales was officially joined with England by Henry VIII's Act of Union in 1536.
I knew my history/geography lessons would come in handy one day! LOL.
Ornith - do you know that word is a slang word for male bits?
oh yes, fmitch
: ) just checking.
that sports team from the art school I mentioned? their mascot WAS, uh, male bits. it was named Scrotie.
Thanks Jacula, that is what I had read -- too bad, because of them all, that is the one that is most interesting to look at. IMHO...
What a laugh!!!!
brb
well, their team was going to be a joke anyway.... :P
anyone know the last fe4/7?
jo_jo: worry, or the little metal bits under the strings of a guitar
oh, sorry, misread that as fr4/7. whoops
the last fe4/7 is a feast or a party
jo_jo: what we are having for ata's birthday - a party of sorts
okay -- I have 99 words in the grid to go... 99 words in the grid.... *fades out, humming*
Time I got hedge-cutting. Happy Babbling, folks!
cake! balloons! etc!
stidmama, thanks for your input on the birthdays calendar. any other opinions?
bye jacs!
*passes out noise makers and streamers to folks, hands cake cutter to Atalante*
I'll have a look a bit later Angel and let you nkow.
it won't take norse? huh.
ac 7 please?
stidmama, the stuff in nail polish remover, change the n to an s
thanks Ornith, knew that organic chem was useful for something!
woot! what flavour cake would people like?

mickie, in9 is plural of in8, lesser
how did i miss that!!!!!lol
thanx
I vote for lemon curd too! and chocolate - but not at the same time!
lol atalante
and angel cake cos its pretty
I have an8 and in8. What's the other 8, please?
Y'all are making my sweet teeth pulse and drool. I may have to run make that lemon curd before I continue....
there's an le8/45, no clue what it is
mmmmmmmmm I *love* lemon curd
le8/45 is plural of le7/32, where you speak from
ack, I hate guessing which re+verb words the dictionary will take. won't take re+cl5 or re+sa4, even though I'm sure I've used those words in real life
thanks, Sam!
you're so right, Ornith
thanks Sam
hi everyone
hi peanut
babble sometimes rejects words that are in the dictionary it allegedly uses, and accepts others that are not. go figger.
if you can have re6/24, why can't you have re8 - someone who re6/24s? silly enable
atalante - guess that one got deleted! ;->
what's this re6/24, atalante? I'm still missing that one
oh, thanks sam
hmmmm how to clue - colour + perform on stage
ata: mean to edit
sam's comment gave it to me :)
hi mickie
ah ty TO - I only know how its used in my favourite sci-fi / fantasy series ....!
is there another meaning?
atalante, that's how it's usually used. edited... with a big black gummint-conspiracy marker.
Julian May uses it as a type of healing power - but that's not real world ;)
re6/30?
y'know, that sounds oddly familiar, atalante, what book is that in?
the Galactic Milieu trilogy - Jack the Bodiless, Diamon Mask adn Magnificat. And Surveillance / Metaconcert / Intervention depending on what country you're in!
Hi everyone. I am new here and was just wondering - how much time do each of you spend finding the words?
I think I must have read those at some point, atalante, that sounds REALLY familiar.
wonderful wonderful wonderful wonderful books!
judy, a couple hours - how many depends on how many words. and that's using all the hints I can get my hands on
Welcome, Judy. A short grid might take an hour. A longer grid might take 2 and sometimes 3. But I think people are on and off often for chatting.
I work from home and miss the chat of an office so the log is the equivalent for me.
but people often just pop in and out occasionally during the day and work that way
Judy, it gets faster with practice!
morning, everyone
how's this grid seem so far?
long, ping
hi ping: it's a fun challenge
hmmmmm, they should save the long ones for the weekends!
hi temple owl
angel: did u get your clue?
nott yet, TO :)
angel, i'm hoping that i will ge t faster - i'm not sure that it's happening yet though!
i don't have it yet... : (
thanks for the answers. I come and go throughout the day. I am a stay at home grandmother sometimes grandchild sitter. So I come and go. Haven't finished one puzzle yet - come back and oops ... it's the next puzzle. hehehe
same here judy lol
it does get faster - helps when you learn to use the points to find them, and also just some of the weird words that come up a lot
Judy - the one main reason we all keep coming back is that the grid is fun/challenging and the virtual babble community is great.
hi judy, it was at least a month before i ever finished one - the trick is to use the "cheat" sheets on the pages linked below!
judy, there's lots of hekp on the resource pages
I would like to get to know some of you. I find it fun - sometimes I come back and can't believe I see a word I didn't see previously
hmm. if beseech is a word, why isn't seech? stupid English!
lol Ornith
I taught English in junior high for about 5 years and I agree, Ornith, it is a strange language.
does anyone know how many words are on the puzzle today?
there are so many phantoms today, they are distracting!
211 words total
I think I once heard it said that English doesn't borrow words from other languages, it sneaks up on them in back alleys, beats them up, and goes through their pockets
Hi Judy, and welcome from another stay at home grandmother retired teacher.
211 denbrig
thanks for the info
re6/30 - type of tuna, change the yellow to another colour
I agree, Temple Owl
funny one, ornith
munner, I am a teacher too!
Thanks, Atalante.
make that 210 + the one at the end of your sentence denbrig LOL
Ornith, have you heard of or read the books, Eats, Shoots & Leaves?
i'm a former teacher!
I'm really stuck on that re6/30
Stephie, hope you're enjoying a break
angel, did you see that clue?
oh ok thanks
heard of, judy, not read
judy: someone just mention ed that in here the other day!
Yes, but my own children are driving me crazy!!
Just goest to show how punctuation can totally change the meaning of what you are saying.
I had a student one time that loved to put an e on the end of every word in his spelling test.
is that you in the picture, judy?
Yes, that's me
a few hundred years too late for that kid, judy
you have that right, Ornith.
I told him that if he was given a bag of e's at the beginning of the school year he would have used them all up by now. He would have spelled more words correctly if he just dropped off the e.
got it now, angel?
i love the apostrphes on plurals trend...
oh, you guys will probably appreciate this: http://houseoffame.blogspot.com/ - Geoffrey Chaucer Hath a Blog
how about there, their and they're
Hi, munner. How are you feeling? I was on chat recently when you were speaking about your treatment.
you do realize that grammar is a lost art...or more precisely, it is changing by popular usage
I still can't stand the "If I were..." that everyone is using.
and temple owl, this one is for you: http://www.angryflower.com/bobsqu.gif
That is great Ornith esp as I spotted one of the fave babblet words on the home page "Ywis"!
ty ornith...judy i use that - ack!
this is a brilliant page for random ywis-y babble words: http://phrontistery.info/archaic.html
ata: i must bookmark that one
no you don! do you really? It makes my skin crawl like fingernails on the old chalkboard
ok - what's the correct way?
I is singular, so it should I am or was
were goes with plural... we were, you were, they were
But, Judy.. what about the subjunctive case? Hello all..
if i was you sounds so wrong....
I taught ESOL and can't remember how many times I had to explain to my students that English was the craziest language of all.
Judy, I always heard "were" as correct there, for subjunctive. and in any case, google tells me "if I were" is now more common, slightly.
hi alo! hi munner - hope you are feeling well today!
(which is actually considered valid linguistic evidence for stuff, believe it or not)
true, it is now the more common usage -
Hi, Temple Owl. Today is the beginning of my week off drugs so I should have some good days. How are you?
got less the 50 left to get now
i am fine - a welcome break for you munner! what is your icon?
howdy, TO... can only pop in for a bit of babbling, another "hit and run" day. (-: Yes, I say "if I were" ..
The thing that drives me nuts is people using "r" and "u" and "b4" and that sort of thing.
judy: are you really sister margaret mary? fess up!
You must love it when the lids get in there then Ornith
*kids not lids?!?!
That'
hehe mitch
That's my graduation yearbook picture.
i must refresh! i see a horse ! LOL!
temple owl: a horse is a horse, of course, course! :P (at least, I'm seeing a little red horse)
My daughter-in-law was here last week and we were going through old pictures so it was easy to find today. She wants to put together some family history pictures.
ac7/32??
wonderful pic, munner!
LOL! That was yesterday's Dalarna horse, a souvenir from Sweden. Perhaps I was a bit horsey... in high school?
hey everyone how many today?

c'mon, guys, where are the other yearbook pix?
oh munner! i thought that was swedish...
We don't have the culture of yearbooks in the UK
munner i do not have digital photos or a scanner.
and my yearbooks are all buried somewhere in my closet, several states away
I do mystery shopping so had to invest in a scanner to upload receipts.
not that they're all that long ago anyway
So Ornith, you're saying you could be one of my four "children"?
organic chemistry with ac7?
hi everyone
I was a mystery shopper / diner for Shoneys/Pargos for a few years.
stephie, think the stuff in nail polish remover, then change the n to an s
stephie: think nailpolish remover hi peanut!
Hi, peanut
and munner, yup
Morning all

My daughter got me started in the mystery shopping, and it's been fun since I've retired.

Munn..my oldest turned 45 in March!!!! How did this happen?? YUCK
ac4/5 - bane of teens. ac4/5 - measure of land.

so sorry to say yes leslie!
and slightly more ca's
Today's my first day here. I've read Angelsong's page but still have questions. Is there a list of clues somewhere? What's the best place to look for good info?
I use Lickety's Babble Clues at the bottom of the page (under the puzzle).
chiley, if you click the lickety’s babble clues link on the bottom of the page you will get a first and second letter breakdown of all the words. Very helpful.
first se6?
for instance I don't know what it means when someone asks about ce x/x.....where x are numbers
ac 4/5 - word starts with ac, is four letters and worth five points
angel i can't tell you....
oh...thanks...that helps
cr7/40 means the 1st 2 letters are cr, there are 7 letters in total and the points value adds up to 40. That give you an idea of what you are looking for.
ex. se6/21 - se are the first two letters of the word; 6 is how many letters are in the word; and 21 is the point value.
sorry angel, I don't have that one yet!
fmitch clue for the cr7/40 plz
yeah, now that she mentions it... ;)
angel: that was a clue : )
Angel - TO's post is a clue
morning everyone
hello mm
afternoon mm :)
hi mm! : )
cr6/27 - somehwere where children are looked after when parents work and pl for the 7.
cerd
nope, not found in dictionary, to
i'm down to my last 2 - re 6/30 and re 6/27 - can anyone clue me?
Clue for the first se6: I'd tell you, but I cant' it's a se6...
re 6/27 - plural of to throw up
re6/27 - what is done to oil or sugar for processing.
is it another one you need, angel?
re6/27 = re + another word for ok
extra hint - start with the c on the right hand side.
disregard my clue, that was for re 7...
no, that was a clue for the first se6, TO :)
another hint for that cr --- where baby Jesus was laid.
right i've got the re 6/27, re 6/30? please?
sorry angel...my clues tend to be terse
can anyone tell me what the 9 letter word starts with please?
in bracken
thanks
there's yellowfin and there's (ahem), ylleria

the 9 is an in 9/72, bracken

brb
ah, thanks erda, finally got it. So I'm done for today :)
congrats ylleria!
YAY! ylleria.
wtg ylleria! : )
That's a Scottish flag, Cherry
Cherrypop - my flag is the St Andrews Cross (or Saltire), which is the Scottish flag
Cherrypop - put your cursor over a flag and it wil tell you which country.
Bracken--Dynadan was giving you a clue an 8/40
well done ylleria
thanks-sorry I didn't recognize.

nope, dynadan, i think you might have been mistaken for a troll there though :) welcome!
hi caitlyn
i see in the grid the name of a fellow babbler, a man from vancouver, an****
no dynadan...not at all. different people give them differently, which is good because different people think differently
Welcome to addiction Dynadan!!!
You have a bit really Dynadan, Using words that are so close really goes against the unwritten rules.
hi caitlyn and hi rina
the grid won't take it though, ping!
unless you change the a to an e

What is today's theme?
en 5/12?
high school yearbook pic, can't you tell, Reese's?! :-)
omg une - no teasing, gawd, tried that & it was worse than getting gum stuck in my hair - it wouldn't take a curl like that, but it sure could get tangled real easy :) uber-teasing LOL
high school yearbook pics, but looking at your profile that might not work for you, reese's!
en5/12 one who finishes
une: hair and cheese sandwiches were the only things i ironed!
en6/27..en +s4/7

i have the second one but not the first one
hi haz!
*hk is still curious as to what her neighbor, la, really looks like (kh knows la is no square!)*
LOL Haz, what did they shoot you with this afternoon?
Hi Haz
so, caitlyn, where's YOUR pic??
No, it was fine. I'm not sure that there will be any side effects, but if I start writing nonsense you'll know what's happened!
Fireworks for me!!!!
Hello FMitch - today I got typhoid, diptheria, polio, hepatatis A and B - yellow fever still to come.

Thanks guys.
So, how many of us are at work today? I have meetings to attend at 1, and here I sit.
yes !!!! closet!!!!
elect, solace, solstice, frond
lol and also heifer
Quite a cocktail, as you say, but I was very brave. They still didn't give me a sticker, though. One of the disadvantages of getting older.
yay mitch!
& erect - ok, i'm done with that
not even a lollipop? what jerks.
mymuse, i tried heifer too! LOL@
Hi All, Haz what backwater countries are you going to that you need anti-typhoid shots?
lol
hello
lol

hey harp!
hey, harpjane
erect hernia!!!
hi harp!
hi harp
haz - you gotta ask for that stuff - my dentist has an actual treasure chest, 'uh, you really want something outta there?' HECK YES!!!!
I'm switching to my evil twin, goofball, since I don't think I can finish today.
hi harp!
I'll bear it in mind for again, thanks for that pointer helen!

haz- are you going somewhere?
somewhere exotic?
101 left...whether I finish tonight or not is up for grabs, though I wouldn't count on it...
Bye unea..enjoy your shower
helen, i think she's going to Kenya
I'm going to Kenya in August - accompanying my husband on safari.
Bye TO ! Enjoy your walk.
wow -how exciting, very cool!!! (hk is a little jealous)
where can you see lions.... only in kenya....
chick there are still quite a lot of places in the world where you need anti malaria or typhoid and such like.
I'm having troubles trying to get an icon off of the web. I don't know how. help please!?
It's been a dream of his for a long time and since it is his 50th birthday in September, I encouraged him to indulge himself (and me).
Ihad all the shots when i went to Egypt
reese's, are you trying to upload or pull one off a web site?
Reese you can right click on image and either save link or save image to your pc
thanks muse!!!!!!!
reese - i go to google images, get a pic, right click on it & save to a folder in my 'c' drive - then in the 'my account' section here, click on edit under the blank icon on the left hand side & choose option #2 - open, upload, refresh
thank you so much Helen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
haz - that is awesome, something to make memories from you will treasure forever ( & also be the envy of friends, neighbors & babbers!)
We're looking forward to it -that's for sure!
you're welcome reese
although reese, and i am talking for stidmama b/c she's not here, i wouldn't put your full name on your profile, just reese's or your first name. safer that way
sigh i have more words that are 6 letters or more than i have 4 letter words .... is there a trick to 4 letter words?
oh yes reese, leslie is right!!! must be cautious, better safe, than sorry :)
besides being smart :)
just let your fingers type any combo you can see, dynadan :)
i was done doing that 3 hours ago hehe
think in a two syllable rhythm, Dynadan. If that makes sense.
now i am just making stuff up
I sometimes use a 'square' of four letters and see how many words I can get from it. It works better on some grids than others.
Sometimes that works Dynadin
i still think nads should count :P
me too
and not counting norse is rough also
hey, if they took the t word yesterday, I agree!
Boy, this game makes me feel stoopid
and how come it won't give me tentacle :P
haz - on this other game i play - tangleword- there is a player there, pat yoda, who has a link where he has lists & lists & lists of all possible combos of 4,5,6 letters in a block - needless to say, he is an awesome scorer
I'm back
I'm off! See ya later. Mebbie.
bye matty
hello again peanut

ce6/24??
..... and desist
the other ce6/24
other ce 6...think aromatic smoke, but drop the "in" from the front. Past tense for the 6.
thanks bash!
yw!
eerie
StephieC, clue on the other ce6/24 please?
cuhhhh-RAP! sorry for that...
best clue yet!!! :)
even i got that one hehe
ended
ty, StephieC!
yw!
I still have 4 ce's. They are just giving me fits!!!
"Freeee woooords - get yer free words over heeeere!" LOL!
hehe
Steph - middle of circle spelt 2 ways
if you're giving out free words, how about some that I don't already have?! :)
Lincoln coin plus vowel, plural
another word for zits
well how about the fr4/7 that you just used LOL
dynadan, is that a clue for ce words?
no
thanks mymuse! Now I only have two left!
think it's a clue for the ac4/5
any clues for the te 6/21 that's not a male falcon?
heres one though .... look at poor pete he puts a c where all the p's should be .... so he spells his name ...
and what kind of word is that anyway??
I've got that one Dy!
I need a ce6/21 and ce4/5
whats the definition then smarty pants? :)
dc--do you have the mid-morning te and its plural?
A ce4/5, as surely everyone knows, is a company of badgers.
ce4/5 rhymes with P***r, Paul and Mary
te 6 - think of a word for "not wordy, short answer, etc", then change the "s" in that word, and make it plural.
middle of circle spelled differently, reverse last 2 letters
people what know that read too many dictionaries or play too much babble
Undoubtedly, Dynadan! :)
or like badgers... :)
... or they just click on the ? next to the word on their list
dy, hit the question mark next to the word and it will give you the definition
d'oh, ty Bash, i didn't look in that direction when i did the singular, and so missed the plural
ce 6/21 that i thought was hard .... what mexcians may can a penny
ahh thanks for the info
yw!
must go for now...back alter...happy babbling!
Oh Bash, don't alter -- we love you just the way you are!
the ce6's that i have are ended, perfumed with in__, the vessel that burns the in___, and middle of circle spelled two different ways. What is the other one???
Spanish pennies?
what mexicans might call a penny plural
could I get some help with the ec words please?
penny + vowel + curved cons
or a body or work by an author since i now know how to push the question mark button
thanks! I finally got it!
ec6/24 = e+beard grows here+ vowel
ec4/6 - looks reminiscent of a resounding word, but with a different vowel ending, pluralise for the ec5/14
if you know Spanish, it's the ending for milk minus l
are there 13 ce words?
thanks. I didn't have the beard grows here word, either!
I'm sure I'm missing the obvious, but help with the ac 7/32?
There are 13 ce words.
according to Lickety there is Steph
its not easy .... think nail polish remover
think fingernail polish remover but change the n to the curvy letter! (ac7)
ac7/32 - means sour, starts like chemical for nail poslish remover, ends like the end of the flower symbolizing love
ac7/32 - high scoring card followed by anagram of foot digits.
then I am finally finished with ce's!!!!!
my nads hurt from sitting in this chair
thanks guys
then move!!
I'm totally not sure what I'm doing
np now help yourself to a bowl of honey nut ch 7/36
Are there certain words you have to find?
and whats with the tile and word stats
all the words
every single flipping impossible undefinable one!!!
i was looking for that one, dyna, thanks
katican, there are 211 possible words today
i don't think it should count as a word anyway i just typed it in for fun
thank you, can you explain the tile and word stats?
words stats show you how many 4, 5, 6, etc. words there are
sure, the second number is the # of words that start with that letter, the first number is how many you have. when you're done with a letter it will turn gray
word stats list how many words of that length there are .... i.e. 3 8 letter words
same for the word stats
ooohh.......cool thankx
I have 31 words.....long way to go
the way we clue, with ac 4/5 and such, means a word starts with ac, is 4 letters and worth five points
when someone types ac4/5 .... it means word starting with ac 4 letters long that will add up to 5 points ..... so ac4/5 another word for zits
jinx
beat you to it, dyna :)
ic, i like this game
i gave a free word with mine HAH!!
If you click the lickety’s babble clues link on the bottom of the page you will get a first and second letter breakdown of all the words.
get to around 100 words and it is more addicting and less fun lol
that's true, the bonus might negate the timing under the buzzer
a clue please for the second ca 5/14 and ca 6/24
OMG leslie i didn't know about the lickity thing .... i thought everyone has been frigging psychic
ca + rapper dr. ***, magzel?
dyna, that will help you immensely :)
he6/21??
ca5/14 like the San Diego ___ but change the first letter and pluralize for the 6
The second ca5/14 - a nucleus of trained personnel
cader
my last one is the first te 6/24 and I just can't find it. any help, please?
sorry about that
don't have that one yet jojo
close, magzel, just flip the last two letters :)
so close hehe
he 6/21 another way of saying your butt?
joey, you were in the puzzle the other day!
joey, someone who is handy with computers?
i know - great notoriety, right?
thanks leslie ann
uh, help with the in 8/55? I think I'm close, but I can't quite get it
i have a problem with the te6/24 being a word if the abbreviated form of the root word does not count
not as good quality, shade
shade it's the inside of house
you must not be as good as the rest of us shade :P
oops, forget that
ohhhhh, if you promise that it is not frozen, I need a fish slap please.......... I am done, thanks for the clue
Well you will have to get used to it Dynadan as the Enable dictionary has a will of it's own!
maybe you will get a complex
congrats joey!
in8 - think not posterior and plural for the 9
cl7/40??
yay, 100 words...
get it a complex :) hehe
OMG I've been playing for four hours and only have 33 words!!!!!! :(
are you remembering to add an S to everything you can reese?
awesome, thanks
I was staring at the wrong I
yes of course. Which makes it even worse!!!!! AARRRRGH!!!!! :(
never mind, i found cl6/27
try adding ed to everything then hehe
Reese, sometimes you just have to try things that *sound* like words, even if you don't know them.
or re in front of everyhting
no I didn't, I found cl627, not cl7/40!!
okay, cleared the 50 word mark, taking a short break
I do I've tried everything!!!
phantom word of the day: "entrance"
turn your monitor upside down
yes, now I have them both!
cl 7/40 should be a plural of the cl 6/27
why exactly?
It is ShadeEagle
I did and I got four more words.
Uhuh! I've just reached the dreaded words
I know, that was a late response to stephie
if you want the info you just have to ease yourself into the game
hi ex wren! been a while since i've seen you on here. :)
Dynadan - are you ging to have to get used to not using words from the gird in the log!!
LOL Ex-Wren - I see you have changed yr icon, thought of you this morning when I saw how many re's there were.
bah you mean i can't hand them our for free ..... wink :P
Hello boreetos. I have been playing for the last few days, but before that I did take a few days off. Was away for a week and came back to biggies. Also we had very hot weather so spent time in the garden!
co6/21?
i am going to hert my computer if i don't find another word soon
I got a new icon that fits my name!!
Yes Fmitch, I did bake a birthday cake for Atalante!
a famous 45 caliber gun with suffix added
guessing it was a knife attached to said gun
thanks!!
I saw that Ex-Wren - nice touch.
right on, well its good to see you anyway. It's hard to keep up with everyone, so many new users. :)
My phantom word of the day is dancer!
im out, I'll return later. good luck and have fun everybody!
HI all, help with an8/40 please

I have not ever heard of the ch words, but I did get them - thanks!!
they are obscure ... i recognized it from a few novels thats why i was so proud of getting them :)
kk it's a ladies hat -- think ****ness monster and add vowel at end

mymuse -- are you looking the the "in the middle" word?
ac7 high card+ anagram of pedal digits
have that-- seem to be missing the last 2 6/21
Stid...sorry...he's off the phone...just wanted me to unplug Megan's laptop so the battery would discharge.
I'm back! Whilst hubby watches football tonight, I plan to spend an evening with Buffy, Angel, Battlestar and Babble
think of the candy with the weird commercials, but change the m to c and the last one is a different spelling for the middle of a circle
ca6/21 similar to what you put inside a jackolatern but replace d with a t
one ce is a container for smelly stuff. Or think about being angry and cut the 'in' off the front.
it's okay. I am just hanging out for a little bit until I go lie down. Perfect gardening weather, but the shopping this morning wore me out so I will take an early nap.
another ca6/21 is similar word pronounced with spanish accent
ok:)
did Lickety update the list?
For some reason on AOL I can't get to lickety's list, and babbler's anon doesn't seem to have today's stats. Can anyone send me the list - I have 99 words left and a wall...and a blank Excel spreadsheet awaiting words.
ce6 - think of spanish for abraham lincoln coin?
...actually my last clue might lead you to two ce 6s, a 21 and a 24.
ce6s I have: end, middle (2 ways), and the penny one, are there any others?
matty - how do you want the list sent?
yeah, mymuse, the container for smelly stuff.
HI, Haz!!
ci 6/27 and 7/40 please
a vessel where in----- is burned
hi everyone
Hello periwinkle - how are you getting on today?
If you send it to the same email addy that's in my profle, except to aol instead of yahoo, either as text, excel, anyything - I'd be amazingly grateful...
and add a d to steph's clue
ty steph
I have babbler's block I need to take a brake.
also ce6/24 and ce6/21 having to do with the smelly stuff burnt at church (subtract in and add past tense and one who does endings)
Right - I'll see what I can do. (Fingers crossed)
ty dyna!
No - I lied - can you send it to an address I'll put in my profile now...
okay back to lurk mode, see you later when I log in to finish...
sorry not ci but cl
cl - cl + ___ and pains but change the a to round vowel. Plural for the 7.
Doing well, Haz, repotted some of the herbs I am growing on my balcony. It is very warm/hot again here today, but staying cool with AC and a fan.
email me some herbs
cl6 is a french hat popular (i think) in the 1930s
cloch
do you have all the ce6 words, mymuse?
sorry again
mag, add an e
still missing the smelly container I think
is that your real pic Une? you're quite lovely!
Hi- I'm lurking about...just finished the "re's"....32 left....How are you all?
Your hair is a work of art, there, Une!
the theme today is SUPPOSED to be high school yearbook pix! :-)
hi jai, i'm lurking too - as i eat my lunch
thanks for the clue
take the ce6/24 above it and change the last consonant
Hi, Ping, I'm eating lunch, too!
as i said earlier, that flip was going nowhere--teased and sprayed to within an inch of its life!
thx Steph got it!
Back to Babble....
You must have been very proud of it! :)
We have had rain all day, periwinkle and no need of air-conditioning!
How about some en7's?
we've had rain all week
en7 plural of en6/18 meaning main course
vic, is that really your hs picture?
got that one une!
in jurassic part they withdrew dino dna that was en7/36 in amber
en 7 --- to en***** a check
Matty - my problem is that Lickety's list is completed, and I'm going to have to take out the words, so it may take a while.
I have en7/36 - put in a box like you might carry on a trip 9past tense, en7/32 - shut in (past tense)
for the bottom right e: i ahave one who uses acid on glass - what is the other one please?
en+ suitca**+ past tense ending; en+"Cl*** the Door!"; en + big, tall tr***- a menu item
Yes, Ping, that is my high school senior self. I trust your icon is not yours, ha ha!
Vicuna, that's a gorgeous pic!!
vic, oh certainly it is - on one of my better days
The correct email to send the list if anyone is feeling generous - it's the email addy that is a real name :D
Well, there are days now when my kids make me feel like your pic, Ping, but I was pretty carefree in high school. Une, thanks. Us real yearbook people have to stick together!
scamming clues here - lucky me, 14 less to go!
i like your picture, vic - do you have twins?
i have a real yearbook for my icon!!!

she was the IT girl in her day!
lol peri - yep, i don't know how to put pictures in this thing, but this really is very close to what i looked like
Sure enough, firefly! I had to refresh. But my yearbook cover is the most atrocious design ever, with a garish coral-colored credit card on the cover, if you can believe it!
Thanks all! Emails received...
is Caroly Lynley still around?
vic - credit card?
gotta go - back this evenin
anyone know why lickety's clues can't be accessed?
bye ping
I still need an en7/32, not the one to en--- a check.
thanks for noticing Vicuna - our senior year they picked some teal one, when our colors were purple and gold, so...
Ping, all I can say is, anyone who doesn't know enough to stop after the first set of twins must be utterly mad! (Actually, mine are very good kids, but I certainly don't need any more!)
Oh, bye, Ping!
re Miss Lynley, yep she's still with us--born in 1942 . . . has a movie coming out the year
my NADS are getting squished against my RECTOL ... i think i may be getting a HERNEA
omg peri - i saw recent pics of her when i went looking & now i know what i'll look like when i hit 60+, think i may start looking into plastic surgery! lol (nah, not really that bad, but i don't think she acts anymore, but does have a current fan page!)
the year . . . er THIS year
Dyn, I'm just going to try to ENORE you!
oops i spoke too soon -really une? what movie is that? can't wait to see!

A movie about ME???
ac7/21
That would be a fast-paced action adventure, no doubt, about a Babble player...
well, there ya go, Vic!
I'm not seeing your clue Dy. I'm sorry!
It's not acelote!
up to 115 words, time for another break, bbl
they should do a german version of this game .... a puzzle this size would contain 7 words heh
lol vic!!
she's featured on Swinging Chicks of the '60s--LOL!
Yes, but each word would be worth 368 points.
gesumhaffenzusammen
hier, sehe, nase...

Does anyone need clues?

Darn it!
Why the 'darn it'?
Let's try this
et6/18?
My pic won't load!
jai - your pic is up - just refresh
congrats to jai!
et6/18 - refers to infinity.
stephie: main course
jaia, your pic is in your profile!!
I've got that one to
my bad - forever
Infinity in time, to be clearer (et6/18)
hey jaia--I see you! :)
TY- yeah, I know my pic is in my profile, but it's the only one I have right now! Hey, Libby, I see you, too!
You look too young to be a grandmother, jai!
o, that's bette :)
Ty, Debbi- Haz, you just made my day!

stephie, it's a kind of gravel.
Hello, quiver! Be sure to take a look at Lickety's page, located on the links below the stats box...
sc5/12 - a type of loose rock/gravel
how do you think I got this far? :)
it's very helpful
sc5/12 sounds like tires burning rubber...
Smart person- most new folks don't look at it til we tell them too!
how do you get your flag next to your name like that?
se7/32?
You have to pay the lifetime game fee of 14.95...is that right?
ah
Quiver - you have to pay for that - try the upgrade
right, jaia-- well worth it,I think! :)
the first se7?
whisper a se 6/21, then add second vowel
the first se7 is plural of the first se6/21...
plural of the 6 before it...
se7/32 - First three letters as in the whispered confidence, then add the ending of the te4/4 bird, pluralised
thanks y'all!

Either of the FI6/30s anyone?
yw!
on might have an an********* complex?
fi6/30 - either a description of someone who is very aggressive, or a plural Norwegian geographical feature.
yw, mich:)
one is plural of the 5/18 (an inlet) and the other means wild
One is really mean and fi****, the other is in Norway, beautiful fjs only change the starting letters
One comment- when all else fails in this puzzle, try pluraling- there are a LOT of plurals- don't miss them....

Thanks Jai!
I only need one more...ec 6/24

I have the 8 that starts with in. What are the other two?
lol, MM!
I have my yearbooks but I graduated before the pictures were put on line and I don't have a scanner
The en6/21 - will I try again? You have the first three letters (not the beginning) then add the first three letters of what a bell does.
It's been cold (for June) and Windy this evening across the Atlantic.
Stephie- try this: en+ an annoying Dr** from your faucet, only change the last letter to an upside-down "u".
le8 - plural of le7 (object that one does a speech from)

same here and HUMID out the wazoo!

Oh, It's UnGodly Hot- we had to buy a second window air conditioner to supplement our CENTRAL air conditioning, it's so hot and humid...doesn't bode well for hurricanes, I'm afraid....
jaia, were you hurt by Katrina where you are?
yeah, my central air's workin' its little butt off!
hmmm.. global warming? :- (
95 here, but at least it's dry
Oh, My, YES! Our house is STILL not fixed....ty insurance company for the hold-up- we have tarps on the roof still and a huge hole in one bedroom ceiling, and lost all our front-yard trees...I worked in Biloxi, and it looked like a nuclear blast zone....very sad....
yep--not that it isn't always hot here in the summer, but our winters have gotten warmer for sure
had a little t-storm-- not better tho... even steamier!
Jaia, that is sad and it is taking so long!
oh, dear, jaia!
oh, jai, i had no idea you were in that same boat as so many others--so sorry
My family lives in Illinois, and says that the winters are never as cold as they once were...if they keep cutting down the rainforest at the rate they are, it's only going to get worse.....Sorry for the preaching, but it's true....
not preaching -- just stating facts
I know, jaia, very true-- such greed...
Yes, Katrina changed my life- the saddest part was losing two of our cats...found them dead...
oh no, how heartbreaking
ooohhhh, dear! :(
Very....
there should be more "preaching" so that full relief can be given to everyone hurt by the hurricane. it is just awful that things are not back to normal for everyone.
I'm so sorry, jaia, :(
I was lucky in that I was not hit by the 28 foot surge....I live fifteen minutes from the ocean, and that accounts for the fact that I still have a house....
moved to tears...
I have an album of pics- I cry when I see the one with all our trees broken off at the twenty-foot mark- a tornado must have gone thru...
anyone know to6/24?
And to see the houses in Biloxi marked with red "X's" where they found dead people...sad....

ok, time to prioritize....help please with the tr 7/32 and the re 7/36
plural the tr6/21?
re 7 is plural of re 5/14, meaning to gag
tr7/32 is plural of the tr6/21, prefix for 3 + song of praise
>++('>
song of praise???: praising who (or is it whom)
aknitter, like *** to joy
*** on a Grecian Urn
oh geeez, i hope you are not laughing to hard at me!!

hey, speak for yourself, the rest of us are killing ourselves......
knitter, i didn't get the praise thing either, glad you asked for clarification!
i often laugh at just how dense i can be!
the cr is cr 6/27 is cr+e4/6
the 7/40 is the plural of that
we're not dense, just blind.....
yes blind that is it.
cresh
co 7 32 is co + actress Garr + vowel

yes, its my leftover icon from crustacean day! but i just had some snow crab legs this weekend too... (nowhere near as good as our maryland crabs, but better than nothing!!) :D
oye and the le 7 and le 8
scarlet, le7 is what a le5/14 (dirty old man) does
le 7 is the stand that you use to support reading material when you read to a crowd
le 7 and 8 -- the thing a professor stands behind an speaks from
or what nrk said!
le 8 is plural of the le 7 I just clued
aha got it
aha got it
heh, i was like "uhh, 'podium' doesnt start with 'LE'..."
hi everyone!
shoot, podium was the word I was trying to think of for the clue!
hi temple!
haha
hi TO! is it your birthday?
hrmph. I'm looking for the dirty old man one now. must be really blind.....
So...I caved and upgraded. Me likes having all the fun letter boxes.
no - it's atalante's
*perk* dirty old man??
brandyjack, i believe there's a fort le***worth
brandyjack, it's ALLOW + **EESE DOODLES
perhaps i can shed some light for you BJ, like the dog going after the stick
i love seeing so many different ways to clue!
feather, not really!?!?!
i *think* so...
Levinworth I've heard of, but le***worth?
hmm, gonna check, maybe i was thinking levinworth
I'd like to visit that place someday, just to see if the men there misbehave
hi boa!
*confuzzled*
Hola :)
The cross letter changes it. Not used to seeing it spelt in Ye Olde Englishe.
hi boa, you went pro?
Yeah, I have my flag. Yes, my pro debut is currently happening. :)
yay boa!
wow... pro-ifying in action...
"Le***worth State Park is home to many sites of interest to students of colonial times." this is what i was thinking of! it's in western NY
and in fact, it won't take it with the 2 bit ending..... It only wants the 6 letter variant. Wish this thing would be consistent....
another babbler is born! welcome to the pro lounge boatierra
aha! good to know feather, tx
Thank you, thank you :)
either of the te 5/10
a 17-mile stretch of grey-green canyon. Vivid green in springtime, radiant red in autumn, this "vale of the three falls" is aptly called The Grand Canyon of the East.A million people visit annually
scarlet, kids aged 13 - 19
hee, at least i wasn't totally making it up!
scarlet, one is a plural
back to the grid
perhaps the plural of the te4/4 bird?
consistent? geez, brandyjack
arge...got those...
another te5/10 is the te4/4 bird + a vowel
my lickety list is messing with me
i'm a dork
there are 4 te 5/10
oooh, a straight line....
the other te5/10 is te + first 3 letters of a very popular TV show about being stranded on an island
brandyjack, not sure what you meant about it not taking the 2-bit plural?
well, i suppose i'll end semi admirably with 42 left to get...perhaps another time. thanks for all your help...it's good to know that people are word geeks like me
were you not able to make le 7 as plural of le 5?
you did great scarlet! see you again.
OK. How about the TE6/21 that doesn't add a consonant to the end of the TE5?
Franmag's clue was 'scarlet, le7 is what a le5/14 (dirty old man) does', but the 2 bit ending to make the le5 an le7 doesn't work, ven though that word is the olde english variant of the 6 letter without the cross letter.
minski, both of them add a consonant
minski, the te 6/21s both are te 6 plus consonant, but go in different directions
bj, is the two bit ending ES?
got it. thanks.
second ch 5/14?
feather, type of pants
bottom ofyour face + a vowel
never thought of that one, but that one does work. I was working on the R ending.
or same with diff vowel on end
got it, good thing, i don't get the pants clue!
feather, sonny and ch** + a consonant
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
oh, lol, cause i got a different 5/14 just now
i got fran's
i needed the pants one anyway and just got it now thanks to dorens
whew, glad you got my clue feather, i've been giving the wrong ones all day!!
i mostly ignored frans, because I caught the podium one and kept tryig to work it in that direction and trying it without the cross..... singleminded cussedness....
fran, I got that too thanks!
sure nrk!
se 5/12 clue, plese?
BJ, my clue does make sense though, an le5/14 le7/36, right?
TO, a four-door car
ch5/14 I have is a fragment of flint. Or is that the usable part that has been chipped off.
ty franmag!
Yes Fran it does. I just fixated on an R ending plus I am not used to seeing the word spelt with a T.
lol, i just got the co7/32 by thinking of the song in aladdin!
yes BJ, as you said olde english variant!!
which song was that feather?
yw TO!
which aladdin song?
but the olde english variant DOES use a T and DOES end in R.....

yeah! Thanx Jacula and Cat9x
i think i've overlooked that blasted volcano in sicily every night for the past 4 nights!
Ping - I assume you've also found its plural?
i did, finally! thanks, jac!
LOL.
lol, jac!!
Just checked out your profile, Ping. Are you a stepmom, too?
well, my partner is the birth mom but i've been around all along - i'm the other mother, hence the blog title
Oh dear! It's 4.11am here and my truck-driving other half is due to wake up v. soon. He'll be so annoyed with me for being down here on the computer and with a glass of wine in my hand. Any way I can to knock me out so the night sweats don't wake me every 30 mins. I hope I can get him to see that is all it is.
mt. damn et4/4-- pesky!
Ah, Ping. I should have realised that. I remember someone telling me that (in real life) some years ago.
last word...he 6/21- the first one
I can so relate, jacula!
There were 2 'other mothers' in that scenario though. Most of the kids, but not all, were screwed up.
abe, slang for rear end
jac, our fair nation is behind yours in this (and a number of other) ways!
abe its an americanism for your behind..... sounds like high knee
LOL..fireworks!!! what a word to,er, end with ..thanks fran and bambam
Ping in Aust. its not recognised yet either... think the UK, Holland, Germany among those that do though
american, bam? I thought yiddish..
our kids are very young - it may be a while before we see whether they turn out okay or not
abe, very appropriate ... er... end word!! lol YAY ABE!!!
well it's only appropriate to "end" with that isn't it Abe!
congrats abe!
bambam, canada too, right?
jinx Fran
thanks guys. thank you for all the clues
how many words are there?
i thought you're supposed to be working bambam!!
Ping - like all parents everywhere you can only hope for the best. However they turn out, you must just keep on loving them UNCONDITIONALLY.
211 akaann
211 words
jacula - i have the same problem -have you tried black cohosh?
they'll be fine, ping--I was blessed w/ my "aunts" :)
The only unconditional love is parental love.
i hate to babble and run, but hubby needs the computer. may i offer any hints before i go?
yeah i am a forex trader so when i'm busy it's NUTS but when i'm not it is SO BORING ITS INSANE... hence word games are good to keep you awake
night abe!!!
yes
thanks, rebel - i complained about the italian mountain earlier tonight
how many words for this puzzle
please
211 words akaan
Helen - re black cohosh - see back in the log. I promise you it won't zap your grid to open the whole chatlog. It opens in a new window.
211 akaann
the other unconditional love is the love kids have for their parents (before they grow up!!!!)....
black cohosh worked for me for about a year & now i'm taking estroven - which took a couple of weeks to kick in but now i am only waking up 2 or 3 times/night
goodnight all
thank you franmag
amen, bambam!
Ican't believe how late people are still coming into this grid as new.
i have been here before
love the thing
Helen - I tried a later night + some alcohol last night and only woke 3 times, but I did get 3 hours uninterrupted sleep.
sure, ping! :)
welcome back then akaann!
I want my 6-8 hours strraight through though.:-(
i could sleep hanging upside down, outdoors, in a blizzard if i'm tired enough...... get up for work at 5 daily and just never seem to get enough sleep
jac, sounds like you have a new baby!
that et** word should be a given!
uh jacula, how far back in the chat log?
jacula?
you know what happens to me - i turn off the light , think for a few minutes, start to relax and then as soon as i'm really relaxed & ALMOST asleep -BAM
bambam, sounds like sleep deprivation.
hey, did anyone put their real yearbook pic in icons today?
vicuna did nrk.
FranMag - feels almost the same way, except that my newcomer is hot flushes/flashes in the day and night sweats later.
I did!
une did too
not! :-D
lol lib!!
the sweats is not what wakes me up - it's the freezing afterwards!
jacula - how far back in the log?
oh, the sweats....
I've tried alcohol, water, smoking, not smoking, sitting by an open window/door. The one thing I think MAY work is doing the breathing exercises you are taught to do during labour. Lowering the blood pressure, even if it is naturally low, as mine is, might be the thing.
lol, fran!
I'l report back.
um, carol! :D
be back in a bit, have to start dinner
I find that beer helps me, jacula...
I see wassup hiding in the back somewhere
Helen - re the advice I gave back in the log about opening the whole chatlog - maybe 2 hours ago? However, all I said was that it opens in a new window now and won'taffect the grid part.
yeah, i'm here. i'm watching fear factor with one eye and babbling with one eye. :)
*yaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwnnn*.... 46 left...toooo tired..to finish.
first my doctor put me on a thyroid med - for overactive thyroid - that helped for about a year, then the black cohosh, another year & now the estroven - there's nothign left after this except real hormones & i am not going to do that, so this better run it's course pretty darned soon!
(if i could)
sa 5/10?
ok i will look back 2 hours
i used DHEA for about a year
Jac, it doesn't open a new window for me
if you're not careful they'll stick like that
Helen - when did yours start? Mine began 2 days after my 49th birthday (April22nd).
Oh, but if I right click on Archives, then I can open it up in a new window
Note to Angelsong - you've got a lot of birthdays missing off your new calendar.
love your icon froelica. hehe
glad youre not doing hormones helen i did for about 20 yrs and got breast cancer and the doc said oops don't ever take hormones again duh!
cheeeeese!
I am not allowed to take HRT.
I realised I would not be and my doc confirmed it.
sa5/10, sounds like the jolly guy who brings presents, diff last letter though
thanx again, Cat
yeah hpyhrted - that's what made my mind up for me!
hooray, it's babble time again for me
I know!!! Shaun!!
smart!
if you add yet another letter onto the end of sa5/10, you will get sa6/18, you're welcome phandmd :)
So when you wanna booze it up again?
tofu is a great source of phyto-estrogen, can be palatable if cooked right...
He did offer me a drug for hot flushes that lowers the blood pressure but I've declined that for now since I have naturally low blood pressure anyway. I don't want to be dizzy and vision-impaired but 'cool'. I think I'll try the breathing exercises when the heat comes on.
jacula - the hot flashes started about a month before my 47th birthday -LOL i was at work & kept saying 'is it hot or is it me?' convinced it wasn't me, i kept chaning the thermostat!!! LOL now we know better
soon...are you guys going camping with us this weekend?
and it works!
*changing
no, i didn't know we were invited!! but james is working :(
Libarebel - I'll check out my tofu recipes. Any hints and tips?
ya know the flashes do go away, but then you're just old so enjoy!
blazing saddles...
yeah my doctor didn't think it was menopause since i was 'so young', but now we're both pretty sure this is it!
oh, we're going to waldport. haley has a tournament. we just decided to go and em and jon are going too.
for hot flashes.. try progesterone cream that you can get at a pharmacy... really helps as does soy like edamame (soy beans you can buy frozen and heat and eat) or soy nuts
i started at about 42 or so with the flashes
jacula - what did you read about black cohosh that turned you off - my doc recommended it & it's pretty much standard
phooey.
hyphrted - My Mum is 72 and she still gets the sweats. Her friend is 84 and she still gets them. These facts depress me!
i started a couple years ago and im 47
hpy - now that IS young!!
it might suck. who knows? i just hope it doesn't rain
i heard its gonna be 95 degrees
my chinese friend cooks it so deliciously! corn oil at exactly the righ temp-- after marinating! yum!
also for the night hot flashes,,, freeze a wet hand towel in a baggie and keep next to your bed so when you awaken you can put that behind your neck and it really takes the edge off...
i'm 66 and can't remember when i last had one, had a few after mastectomy but not for too long
I sarted getting hot flasnes, and the start of meno in my late 30's. Still get hot flashes, much more now though, I am now 52.
jac - yeah that's scary, my mom has been gone for almost 20 years, so i have no idea about when it happened to her or how long :(
I keep a damp flannel by my bedside to either put on brow or between breasts when the hots strike.
mama mac - YES, that's what i do & that really helps!
awesome. i need to get a bathing suit. i've um...outgrown my old one.
*flashes
oh crap cat9!!!
ugh. 68 left. i think i'm just going to accept that i won't finish this one.
I was on hormone replacement therapy on and off for a few years (because ambivalent). But since I stopped for good I've had no symptoms.
I know helen :( sux!
** reading quietly unnoticed, and learning a lot in the process**
haha. yeah me too, i just bought a new one. i used to buy small bottom, medium top. now its medium bottom, large top. and the one i just got.... lets just say large is not large enough. james forbade me from wearing it when he's not around
Re the black cohosh downsides - some kind of argument about whether it does or does not cause breast cancer, whether it does or does not exacerbate tumours if you have them, and the fact that it can cause liver disfunctions.
interesting eh bam
i am telling my body that 3 years of this will be the right amount of time - sometimes these suggestions work!
LOL bambam!
oh, poor man, bambam! :-|
haha! oh my god...they just dumped bugs all over a lady on fear factor
sc 6?
Helen - I'm telling my body 6 months!
bet he didn't know this was "girls nite"
I took hormones for a few years, helped some, but I no longer take them.
Too much soy can be problematic as well re breast cancer
jac - huh, i've never heard anything about bad side effects
my wife just turned 40, i suppose i have this to look forward to! and yeah i feel like i'm crashing a girl's night!
feeling empathy hot flashes?a
SICK!!! Mmm... as soon as jenna gets here i'm gonna go see syriana, eat pizza and drink wine (at the same time) :)
Too chat or not to chat that is the question right now -- like Bambam I am expanding my education -- but on the other hand I feel a bit left out as I have no context for commisseration -- so I will have to settle for {{*Hugs for all*}}
lol
Cat, you sound like me - early menopause, HRT, etc.
hey, you are welcome, bam!
let's talk about men, oh (pause)...errr.. maybe not!
nice, have a good time. i'm going to take a bath and go to bed. we're going to the zoo in the morning. gotta get some rest
i'm learning things also, i figure it's just around the corner for me, i'm going to be 40 in November.
oh yeah bambam, it''ll be fun for you when she can't get a solid nights sleep for months at a time - remember to be kind & patient
lol, bam!
JUst like you Mab, my Mother started menopause early too, in her late 30's.
i'll be kind, patient, and overseas!
I'm sure that men go through hormonal changes as well, gw and bambam
bam is a good sport! :-D
sc6/21 - person from one of the areas in the UK, + where ambulances are usually headed
lol bambam!!
WOLFIE! (((HUGS))) Oh sorry! Didn't mean to knock you over. Yes, it menopausal girlie night but you guys can read and learn from this, as I hope my guy will.
bambam - that just may be the safest place for you LOL
hi woulf!
well, we do, mab -- but not quite on such a drastic level
see ya latah
Hi Fran!!
Men's hormonal changes involve 20 year old women, corvets, hair replacement and pinkie rings lol
so you think, gw.
LOL cat!
lol cat9!!
darci, where ambulances are usually headed? I can only think hospital
yeah my wife thinks i'm going to trade her in for a younger model.... to which i reply "you think i would do THIS AGAIN??"
lol, cat!
and if ONLY they had the sweats too! lol
ph - which part of the hospital?
well, not being there yet, I can't say for certain -- but I had my pinky ring phase in my 20's so that's out
phandmd, sc6/21 is like a kids' riding toy minus an O
I also tried accupuncture.... kinda worked worth a try
No proper sleep for months or years... not a nice prospect. I do hope all of our men will be kind and patient. My guy is a lot younger than me and so may not be. I hope and pray that he is though. He's the bst thing that ever happened to me, as the song goes.
lol Grey
they get the limpies...
LOL lib!
bambam - what did you say when you regained consciouusness?
Q: Do you speak to your wife much after sex? A: Sure, if there's a phone handy!
thanx, Fran and darci
LOL Bambam
sure thing :)
we have always had separate bedrooms - so no problem there, only problem when i get up a raging lunatic!!
hahahah mab!
bambam, rofl!!!
Jac - from what you have told me about him, he will be there for you through all the chaos, though perhaps a bit bratty about it at times
not to change this fascinating subject but anyone have a clue for the "o" on the top row please???
lol, cat-- you know...

hpyhrted, one is what you mine for metals
I didn't start today, hpyhrted (pleased to make your aquaintance, btw) -- so must sorrowfully admit that I can not assist you

lol, cat!
s'ok mab need all the clues i can get still have 77 left think I'll give up soon
any clue for the se 6 & 7 (second set)?
the one where you'd have to be killed if we told you?
ls1, second set what you keep quiet and ooze
if you're worried about someone, you have con**** for them... add that to se, then plural
the other set is se+last part of con**** for your fellow man + plural
yet another word i've never heard of!
eeewww Fran
hp, lol, read it again and it does sound gross!!
thanks fran and bam - i had the sets reversed
pretty funny tho
i did that too ls1, took me forever to get that other set!!
just the word "ooze" is enough to get an "ewwww" isn't it!
oh, dear, fran! LOL! :-D
you weren't oozing enuff
too bad there aren't a couple of o's by that z, does the z go in any words tonite?
not a one hpy
it's fun to say ooze!
thanx, been looking and didn't see anything

4:06 pm jaianniah ProfileUnited States en + to perform on stage; en+ put in glass "house"; en+ past tense of former word; en+ "cl*** the door!"; en+ THE EN* + ee are; en+plural of former word; en- what you do to a check you receive to cash it; en+ the end of a famous headache medicine ex*******; THE EN**< that word; en+ Middle ages peasant (sounds like what kids do on the beach in CA); en- to go in; en+ big, tall plant; en + plural of former word. I'\\
i love anchovies!!
2 last words re 6/30 and the 4/5 after it pls
or fiore melon
hi melon!
fran-- I go easy on myself!
phandmd re 6/30 = color + dorsal ***
yes, i see that lib! :-)
re 4/5 after it is re + female deer minus last letter
both start with a color- one ends with a fish flipper, the other means to do over..there are your re's
re6/30 North Aerican Shiner fish.
jac, did you know it was a type of da4/6 also?
yes re6,30 is a crimson dorsal
et 6/18?
glad i finally opened the list - only 10 to go!
*American
go helen!!
see 'ya tomorrow, all!
leslie ann, like never-ending
Thank you all so much, now done and way to whipped to clue, hope you guys don't mind if I bug off tonight
et6/18 - old way of saying forever.
night, rebel
LA, like a word that means forever or endless, but ends in an E
change last two letters to just one vowel
leslie, et6,18 is forever... but lose the gore at the end and add an ecstasy
good nite lib :)
ah thanks jac
later phandmd!!
forever, et******, but the ending isn't nal- it is your turn to figure it out...
congrats and goodnight phandmd!
FanMag - re the fish. Yes, I did know.
LOL, sausage fingers again, I meant FranMag.
jac, do you know what a da4/6 is then? what kind of fish is it most like?
it rhymes with what you spray in a mugger's face
in fact it even rhymes with that! ahhahaha
FranMag - a carp.
d + top card
oh, thanks jac!
dBambam?
49 to go. this is taking forever.
As a former angler, FranMag, I hope I know my fish!
jai, :)

*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!*~*~*~*~
thanks bam!!!
en 7/32? the one that begins "not start"
YAY Helen!
well done Jac!
an8 is a medical term meaning front- it is related to in8 in spelling...
Grr! Babble auto whatsit didn't work. Had to type the fireworks myself.
so jacula - when i say good nite to you now, what i'll really mean is -hope you get SOME good sleep
LOL
hello stid
Hi evertone I'm back again

Congratulations hellenkeller on your fireworks!Yipee!
LA, tiger en*****s Nike products
I mean everyone

ooh ok i was looking for a compound word. thanks
Bon nuit, Stidmama.x
yw- did you get it?
Hi & goodybye stidmama! Didn't know you were here!
Hello, Stddy!
in 6/30?
I'm not gonna make I still have 168 to go. I'm going to call it a night.
gotta go too all, have to make dinner, bye!
I mean make it
Goodbye Franman! Have a good dinner and evening!
that's a valiant effort regardless, reese's
bye fran
leslie - when your cut gets pus, you have an in****ion
ew, but thanks
Hi again folks, sorry I disappeared -- Kirsten has a severe issue with her jaw right now and getting her comfy is a bit of an issue. Gramma is coming by in 4 hours to take her to an oral surgeon -- hopefully she will get to see him today
to get sick, someone in****** you with germs
Reese's post made me start singing the old Who hit from Tommy... 'we're not gonna take it!' etc.
in 4 hours? what are this dr.'s hours?
grey - what's wrong with her jaw?
Wolfie - is she teething again?
Hello GreyWoulf! How are you doing this fine evening?
She is on public assistance and the clinic opens at 6 am --- and to make matters worse -- they only accept 21 welfare cases each day
i think that was Twisted Sister, not The Who
ok - so we're not gonna take it!
Jac -- this is momma we are talking about, not my daugher -- and she may have an abscess or it may be an impacted wisdom tooth
oh dear that seems like a not so good situation, woulf
we;re not gonna take it... anymore....
Infant paracetamol, plus cold compress. Failing that, try a very hot lemon and ginger tabag applied to the site of the pain.
38 words to go, 38 minutes to go!
Minver -- I and the kids are great -- mommy is not doing so great
go, Darci, go!
Wolfie - same as I said before but up the para dose.
yeah if it is an abscess don't use heat (speaking from previous experience), use ice and ibuprofen
Any tincture of giner will hep ease th e pain.
Hey Darci, that is a word a minute!!! Go Darci Go!!!
she actually had to go to the ER tonight for an injection of anesthesia -- a Vicodin plus a Percoset did nothing!!
Uh, oh, the cat is going to walk on my keyboard....just warning you....
wow... how old is she?
Darci -- I have had nights where I had more words to find than minutes and made it -- with this team on your side, anything is possible
Wolfie - it sounds to me, unless she has a bad tooth, that her wisdom teeth are busy impacting themselves. That was the thing that sent my Mum's temp sky high and didn't allow her out of hospotal just after she'd had me.
kier -- she is 40 in Sep
heh. all the words i have left are longer ones, which is my weak point.
Except for last night. at 12:30 I had one more word.
can i get a clue for the le8?
ohhhhhh. i thought you were talking about a baby!!!
plural of the podiums you stand and speak at, darci
le8 - plural; of the thing the the Bible sits on in Church.
sorry. my bad. I had a super bad abcess and i kept hoping it would go away and they had a heck of atime working on it. they can't numb it well if it is too infected
sorry for the confusion Kier -- it does trip me up at times since the names are so close
thanks leslieann! that gave me two for the price of one!
plural of the one before- Darci, go thru your list and check for plurals- they are evrywhere in this puzzle....
People were cluing me nonstop for 30 minutes & the idiot that I am, never got the word. I was told after the flip & I felt so stupid afterword. It was the most exhausting and stressful thirty minutes of my life!!
my husband will not stop updating me on: baskeball playoff (i could care less), world cup (ok but i don't need all the detail); college world series (stop yelling at the TV) and a mariner's game. AGHGHGHGHGHGGH
lol kier
Well, minver, if that's the worst thing you ever have to go through, I am glad for you. No, not beign sarcastic.
it's the pressure, minver. the closer it gets to midnight, the more dumbed-down i need the clue to be
Min -- I had a period of a couple of weeks where I went down to the wire for finishing the grid -- it got so that if I finished with more than 3 minutes on the clock I felt all upset cos I didn't know how to fill my time :D
and then if i say anything (like I DON'T CARE ABOUT ALL THIS SPORTS!!!!) he gets indignant and says 'i am just trying to make conversation....'
speaking of which, anyone want to clue a en 6/21 (after the person who says this product is great)
how do you guys finish these things? how do you do it w/out clues? i just don't get it...
kielex, my hubby lives in Dallas, and I am alone most of the time....try to be glad he's there at all.....(I know, it's hard when they are sports freaks)
kier -- I have only ever finished 2 grids with out clues and both were under 50 words
Try being me and telling my England supporter that 'it's only a game'. Have I dared to do that since the World Cup started? Have I heck!
jai how come you live apart?
I was just exaggerating! I just get so into this thing sometimes! It's pretty sad But tonight I am relaxed becuase I know I will not finish so that is not my goal!
ok, i'm going to start asking for clues. i have 33 left, but i'll give it the ol' college try
Re the doing it(the grid) without clues thing: Over time, the words make themselves apparent. It's jusat like the crossword you get used to.
ac7/32?
highest card in the deck + high fruc**** corn syrup?
good clue, leslieann!
the second ch5/14 and the following ch5/0?
oops. that should say ch5/20
I have only completed 2 times. Of course both times have been on a weekend! I don't know how you could finish the grid if you have a family and a full-time job!
ac7/32 - the first word I got in this grid, as I'd just been removing nail polish before entering. The ac7 word means 'tasting like vinegar'.
hail to the ch 5/20, darci
He lost his job a few years ago- took him 2 years to find another- it required a move to dallas and we had a kid still in H.S> who would have slit herr throat if I pullled her out of her school....so we stayed and he went....and now she has gaduated, and he still hasn't finished the work on the house so we can sell it (Katrina did quite a number on it, besides) So I am stuck....sagas of Babbleland....As the Grid Turns....
ha. got that one as i was typing the clue request. *sigh* i deserve a big ol pile of fish tonight
jai - (((HUGS))))
I DO mean that!
wow jai, that's some sacrifice you made for your child!
Min -- when I was working retail it was easy to finish everyday -- but since I started the new job, I only finish if it is a small grid, under 180
