Leslie - get up!
i know, i was just proud i got it :)
i don't get the tile stats- can someone plz tell me what they mean?
L 7/32
bored, the second number means how many words start with that letter, the first number means how many you have
L 7/32
L 7/32
it was stuck....
oh no wonder i got mixed up- i thought it was how many times to use it, but that did't work out
so what's this L 7/32 that ur all talking abt?
starts with l, 7 letters worth 32 points
that means i found a word that starts with L, is 7 letters and worth 32 points. If you click the lickety’s babble clues link on the bottom of the page you will get a first and second letter breakdown of all the words.
where do you guys see what the themes are (even though i can't part with the one i have )
wow ty
points are figured by the numbers on the tiles, 4 letter words worth face value, 5 letters face value x2, etc
deb, both lickety and angelsong list icon themes
babbler keeps track of them in her profile
the jo 4/9 between the jo 5 20s?
thanks - i never noticed them - when i go to lickety's list - i'm just looking at the list! thanks

Good evening all....Jacula, I'm having the same problem - words not being added or showing up very slowly.
Morning Everyone! Looks like a pretty good grid. Clues already! Yeah!
115 words in 30 minutes--a VERY good grid! :-)
aha! mediocrity in just 35 minutes! the 2nd half promises to be tougher.
wowie aix! i stopped @ 103.
i see The King is in this grid! :-)
77 out of 206.Tired enough now to attempt sleep!
me too, jac--night, all
Nipping back into my earth boundbox n0w;
well i might as well go get my new icon before i log off - good bye carol, i'll miss you
i got the le8! yay for me
good nite everyone - see you all tomorrow
nite
night helen -
anyone got the th7?
th7 is plural of the th 6 = (Chem.) A white, bitter, crystallizable substance, obtained from coffee. It is identical with the alkaloid ****** from tea leaves, and with guaranine from guarana.
if ya have the th5/12, add a vowel to the end, then pluralise it
thanx, got it!
awesome ty
le6/55
how many of you actually type the words you find into to 'clue list'? I'm just curious.
Not sure, I never use the list, but some do.
le8/55 sorry!
I can see how it would help...but would be time consuming.
le8/55 is not what what you want for communion
many use the list
I was searching for a le6/55 lol
hey evryone!
hi JG
my word comes up automatically in the word list - does not everyone's?
I think he means Licketys clue list JM
I get as far as I can without the list - usually about two-thirds of the way through. After that it's Lickerty who gets me the rest of the way. I'd struggle without that list.
hey guys
ah, it is time consuming to type it into there - try printing it and writing into it
hey jess!
Just type them all into the box at the top - they're put in the right place automatically and it only takes a minute or two.
it automatically puts it into the list if you type them in at the top
many people find it useful if they are not sure wheather the puzzle is worth doing, especially those who like to keep their rankings...
i do find it easier to type it into the top, because then I can see where it falls in order (like, there are 4 TE 4/4's today, 3 of which are back to back)
oh, and if you attempt to put a word into licketys that isn't in the grid, it wont let you - so that helps as well
Shame you can't just hit return after typing into the box at Licketys
He fixed it so you can...? isn't it working?
well, i think that depends on what type of computer you have - @ home i can't (on a mac) but at work i can (on a pc)
Is that recent?
*yawnnnnnnnn* hi all :)
hello Atalante
morning atalante
Hi Ata :)
No, hitting return on the Add Word box at Lickety still doesn't work for me
It work for me, if it is a valid word, eitherwise it doesn't accept it
my spleling is crappola today!
yet, you got crappola right
I am sure it isn't the "speller", it's the typing, mrp :) I spell fine, can't type worth crap :)
actually, i don't know how to spell it
My finger's move independant of my brain lol
so do mine!!
CRAPOLA - here endeth the lesson!
lol
One P, have to remember that :)
sadly, I had to look that up!
tojo, I like it. Should be allowed :)
tojo, sounds like another celebrity baby name!
Morning! How's the grid?
LOL!!! So true!!!
Hi Matty, so far so good :)
hi matty... grid is fine! come on in!
morning matty - not bad again today
The names celebrities come up with today, yikes!
the ditzy idiots don't realise how much pain they put their kids through calling them dumbo names... I guess they can afford the therapy they will need.
Agreed mrp! I tried to make sure my Son's name didn't rhyme with anything too awful, let alone give him a dumbo name!
Lots of plurals again today, I see. At least no res - I finished last night at just before 10.00!
I called on of mine Luke, thinking that was safe! WRONG
LOT'S of plurals, you are right :)
ahhh, puke? right?
The only thing they did with my Son's name, was call him Cassie, his name was Casey. Considering the alternatives, I guess that wasn't too bad. He now spells it KC, so they don't unintentionally call him Cassie.
I called my daughter Sarah because there's very little you can do to it LOL
fluke, spook, gook, kook, puke... poor child indeed!... and they are the ones I call him!
l 7/40
Matty, true! Kid's try to be creative when they can't find anything that rhymes, and usually in that case, it's a lame attempt to poke fun, since nothing rhymes :)
Dalmation - there is no i 7/40...
there is an L 7/40 matty
if you mean L 7/40, try the plural of the one above it LE 6/27
Ahhh....
the Le6/27 I have IS a plural...
that might be the LE 6/27 right after the LE 7/40, not the one right before it
all told, there are 4 LE 6/27's today
Figures.
the LE 6/27 that you have, is that another way of saying departing?
Yep.
And I now have another plural that sounds like what you don't do to certain types of passover bread.
then the LE 7/40 is right above that (change the last letter of what you have to make an LE 6/27 - then plural it)
Cool - thanks jMann!
you should get some mileage out of the beginnings of those LE words that you already have matty
morning peeps :)how many today?
206
in today's gris, I have found Elvis, Jason of horror movie fame, Stevie as in Nicks, Joel, as in Billy, Le* as in Thompson, Jo*** as in the neighbors and Jo* as in Blow. Useless to anyone but me lol
*grid
The neighbours?
Keeping up with the Jo*** :)
An old old saying :)
yeah, but the singular form of that is a word
I know jo5/20 :)
Cool - got that one. If you wanna read a funny story by a friend of mine, look up "Throwing up with the Jo*****s" - or go here: www.ciao.co.uk/Short_Stories__Review_5 535460
Cool - got that one. If you wanna read a funny story by a friend of mine, look up "Throwing up with the Jo*****s" - or go here: www.ciao.co.uk/Short_Stories__Review_5 535460
It's funny!
not singular is it? wouldn't take that
and don't forget Joni as in Mitchell

Yep, missed Joni, found Jose though, as in where I reside lol

Good morning/evening all. I'm just starting but I see the grid is giving us a free le5/10.
morning haz :)
Hey Haz, how are you doing today?
the 8 letter word has to do with what groes on trees, it's le8/55
Hi Haz! It's a pretty nice one today. 124 went fairly easily
Good morning Haz :)
*grows, yikes!
I'm doing fine. I had to get some vaccinations yesterday and my arm is sore, but not enough to stop me babbling!
COOL!!Nothing can stop me Babbling!!
Vaccines can sure do a number on arm muscles, hope you feel better soon!
Thanks Cat - it feels as though I've been kicked by a mule. I've never been kicked by a mule, but I imagine this is what it feels like!

Bye Jemma - those chickens will be complaining if you don't go soon!
OK BYE!!!!
I know it isn't a word, but I keep trying to put avis in
It looks more like a word than some we've come across, that's for sure.
it's a name, Cat, and has something to do with birds. I can't get that 8 - can you give me another clue?
i keep going to put in "toilet"
Sure does Haz.
hi all - supposed to be 'houseworking '-so will be gone soon! The le is the tree with the most le6/27s
thx, snowy!
Do you have le6/27 yet amanda? If so, it builds off that. My tree's le**** are the le****** on the whole block.
What a strange word! Thanks for the clue, snowyowl.
yw amandacath - retired husbands do get in the way of babble - I realise now how fast I used to work before he got home now he's here all the time!
jigga wha?....i'm missing these words y'all are getting so much
LOL
is the temple-babblet in there? I can't ever remember exactly how it's spelled...
the rain in spain falls mainly on the plain? wha? the "le******" on the whole block? my eyes are gonna pop before I get that one
lol
lol
The le we're talking about is more usually spelt with an f.
LOL, it's a strange sounding word at best, usually with an F
Haz, both same idea lol
The cheese is back - and there's a Hebrew word se5/12, often seen in Psalms.
there are two numbers in there, too
how funny that I got the Hebrew word rather easily yet I am stumped by the English....tragic 2am story, I know
can someone give me a clue for the first el 7/40?
Don't worry, motorsports - some of the words make themselves more apparent than others.
To raise up ylleria
thtmotorsports did you get the le6 yet?
el 7 : to move higher place
after finally figuring out how your codes are made up, yeah i got the le6 already
lol
Have you babbled before - I'm assuming that you are from the States, if it is 2 am your time?
no, first time babbling since diapers
lol
there olts of info on babble under the Friends of Babble heading at the bottom of the page. Angwlsongs Babble page , licketys clues and Babblers Anonymous are all worth a look.
Well then, welcome to your new addiction.
Sorry early morning typos!
I don't think I will have the ongoing time to support this addiction lol
Welcome motor, now, take those le6's and make yout tree the le****** tree on the block! LOL
That's what we all thought!
i got the religion guy th6
We all thought that tht -now we've all given up life for Babble! LOL
8 letters cat?
yep, 8 letters
make your le6 the most it can be tht
I would assume you all got the religion guy right?
and that IS a funky lookin word
Not I :)
and the Biblical dough-riser?
I agree, thats Babble! The funkier the better!
th6 and le6
thx, tht - had missed that one.
le 6 yes, th 6, not yet
when I first started I didn't know all the letters had to touch, and I tought I was king of the game coming in right off the bat and finding "television"...alas, no dice lol
welcome :)
LOL
OK - kitchen floor calling! I'm off to be Mrs Mop for a while -happy babbling all bbl
This grid has class. You're (surprisingly) allowed to keep up with the Jo5/20.
bye snowy!
lol haz...bye snow
I don't get the th6
lol has -being welsh I noticed that one straight away! BYE!!!!
Bye snowyowl!
its also a form of government (such as monarchist, oligarchist, etc.) that refers historically only to Israel
Thanks - got it now.
I keep trying to put thieves in also.
those darn E's and I' keep getting mixed...I know lol
There's an ne4/7 - similar to the plural birthmark we've had recently but missing a vowel.
I think I've hit my wall at 141 - how many v's?
19 v's
19 v words
ok, 4 more of them to find *goes v hunting*
There is also an at7/32, one who denies the existence of God.
i'm totally blown away that there's so many j words...I'm usually good with those
my names in here too -- jason
After awhile though, they all run together motor lol
good catch cat
:otsa names today, see Elvis?
how many j words are there?, o and hello
thanks motor :)
hi egm, 10 J's
206 words today.
thanks
You're welcome egm.
If you find Santa's helpers, build off that for el7/40. Minus the plural on the helpers :)
oops, scratch that
good morning everybody:)
LOL, Santa's helpers and the other el7/40 do not build off each other, my bad. The EL is a number
Good morning jean.
hello
morning...
jean
this is NOT the game to be introduced to on a night where you need sleep...darn you addictive game player peoples!
Ah, but we're all fresh as daisies after a good night's sleep.
its 6:43 in adelaide
ok, I'm not finding any more v's... I've got one v6, are there any more 6's or bigger?
no sorry, 6:44
now how in blue blazes is "honies" not a word? I hear it on TV all the time...that should make it official, right?
The only va6 I have is the gentleman's gentlemen - I assume you have it, though.
don't forget to tip him
i wish there was a r next to the e which is next to the h
found one more v6... ah, Haz, the other is adjectival blood vessels
motorsport - this grid is governed by the enable dictionary. It causes much debate as to which words are acceptable, but the dictionary won't be argued with.
i wish that "television" was really all touching lol
Thanks amanda.
i love you
sorry, i was just day dreaming
i got a 5 from that amanda, but am failing to see the 6
motor - take out a vowel and make it an adjective
are there any f words?
With the same ending as a flower/woman's name
8
ty
and the only adjective I can think of has an "a" in it...brain is wooooooozy
yw
...or maybe a letter-shaped proboscis?
i have to go now, im having dinner, bye
bye egm
got it....i think....lol...never learned that one in school
Morning all. Faster grid than yesterday?
Much faster, hi FM!
Hi Mitch! I think it's nicer than yesterday's
wow 46 words in 10 minutes
Good morning FMitch - some nice words in here today.
morning fmitch
Morning Cat, I see you have gone back to your v elegant icon from the other day. Morning Haz and amanda and jean.
Yes, FM. Only had the other one for the yearbook picture :) I really like this one, think I'll keep it for awhile :)
Haz, how are you today?
motorsport - if you're still here, you may be surprised to find that the river that runs through Paris, and its plural are acceptable.
lol @ ho6 that never lies
Hi Fmitch - I'm fine, although my arm is sore! Feels like a kick from a mule.
Now if only we could make that the ho******** on the whole block motor! :)
I got bitten by a donkey on the bottom once, that was quite painful too!
good thing I took french for three years lol...ty
Yikes FM! Ouchie!
Seriously? I bet you weren't too keen to show off your injury!
umm, Mitch - why was your bottom in the vicinity of a donkey's teeth...?
agreed cat...maybe even link it with that ol' television lol
LOL
Yes it really did happen and there was quite a bruise.LOL amanda - I was feeding the foal and the mother took offence.
ooo, mother donkeys - you don't want to mess with them!
I am missing 2 x he the last 5/12 6/21 presume it's a combo - any clues ... ?
i feel like the guy in that auto insurance commercial with the head injury from viewing his bill, passing out and smashing his head into his mailbox
The only he5/12 I have is like a bank he*** FM, still missing 5 h's here
bye guys just had to have my morning fix of babble have a good day bbl
lol motor!
hmmm. the last he5/12 I've got is the bank robbery - I'm guessing there are quite a few more...
bye jean :)
I'm distinctly lacking in the he wordsdepartment.
what about the he5's regarding someone who has the flu?
theere's the old he***-ho
FMitch - I have all the H words and I don't have a 6/21.
thats a 5/18 and 6/30
OK I'll start that one again smack with a fish please it the ha's I am looking for same points etc.
have those, but he was looking for a he5/12
Well, that's a relief.... looking for ha words....
ha45 plural and even more so for the 6/21.
There's a hearty ha4/5, 5/12/6/21 combo.
i have an ha5/18 and 6/30 which usually is something you might do to a chicken
You must have a healthy appetite if you can eat that much yourself.
everything is bigger in california...even the portions
my wonderful bride is a good cook, what can I say
awww, how nice :)
She's not looking over your shoulder, is she?
LOL haz!!!
no, she's the sane one getting sleep before we have to get up in .... 5 and a half hours
Oh, plenty of time to get this finished then.
LOL Haz your clue words come before motor's and the 2 I am looking for come right after motors I think.
FMitch - I feel your pain. was bittn on the thigh by a donkey once ...
What is it with donkeys???
Morning Atalante and Hi Dianne too :)
FM, there is a ha5/18 and ha6/30, plural?
alright, I give up on the v's. How many f's?
seriously re: donkeys....I think I'm gonna stay off y'all's farms
how many vs amanda?
8 F's amanda
its a ha5/12 and then 6/21 that I seek 8 f's
8
8, amanda
19, I believe mickie
omg were!!!
there are 19 V's
ha5/12 - Hawiian slang for non-Hawiians and plural.
the 5/12 and 6/21 i'm not sure how to define...the 5/12 i could say sounds like both a type of windstorm and a type of precipitation, but the 6/21 i don't know...perhaps the same in King james english? lol
We miss that one every time!
You stars!!!! thanks
I swear every time I'm not going to forget that hawaiian word ... it never works
Flojo is in there too
lol same here amanda!
I was amazed that I saw it this time - I have had to ask for a clue for this every time before today.
Remember those nails?
What nails?
Flo-jo's!
just found a ne5/10 that I have absolutely no clue what it means lol
slayed the f's! Wonder if steroids make your nails grow?
noist
Flo-jo - Florence Griffith Joyner. An American runner who had really long, decorated nails.
is not a word lol
hello again everyone
LOL, they had to be false surely?
welcome back JM :)
right !
thanks
I think they were real. There would be a very restricted market for those talons.
Hi JM
wb jmann
an "r" would be supremely helpful
I always thought those nails would cause too much wind resistance - imagine how fast she would have been without them!
I'm just remembering, she died, didn't she?
Yep - heart problems, if I remember correctly, unofficially caused by doping
thanks FM and mickie - i was catching up on the chat
just google her and you are right died in 1998
was it Flo-jo, or her sister? She was a runner as well
Such a pity in all respects.
found Tahoe, too bad can't use it.
Alvin, Elvis, Steven, Jason, Jose, Joao ... had to get it out of my system
And the women's names?
Don't forget Stevie, as in Nicks :)
perhaps you cannot use Tahoe, but it will lead you to other parts
thanks motor :)
No Tahoe, but it accepts Taos - go figger
it didnt take taos or toas from me...you must be speshul
Jackie Joyner-Kersey (sp) was Flo-Jo's sister-in-law, I believe. It's Flo-Jo who bought it
nor me!!
sorry motor - Taos isn't in there today, but Enable accepts it when it is
because that's not just a place, but also a religious belief
my mistake...i stand corrected...
sit down, it's easier to babble that way :)
yeah, I know, but I always think of the city first
not with brain mush...i', not even halfway yet
*i'm
Poor man, he could be in bed sleeping and instead he's getting teased and his brain is being turned to cornflakes.
cornflakes would be a step up im afraid lol
so would baby cow...but that's only worth 7
I'm getting nowhere fast ... how many words from the top L?
7
There are 7
i only have 4
ha I only have three
wait...that didn't come out right....
funny, it accepts Hebrew, but not Greek?
only half my training is helpful then...grr...lol
Sometimes yes, it depends on whether it feels that the word is assimilated into English usage.
motor - it's a never-ending puzzle as to what Enable has on it's list and why.
hello everyone!
well fojoniehtoavsteleioe
joniest
Hello Preethi!
hi again preethi :)
and they dont allow alevi (as in the alawite sect of islam)...
Hi Haz. Hows it going?
Hello Preethi - it's a nice grid today. I'm about ready to take a break though. I have 73 left to find.
hey preethi, how's it going?
Hi Preethi
Hi Cat
Hi Preethi You off then Haz?
can I buy an R please? where's Vanna when you need her?
Hello Jmann. Its going pretty well. at 82 words
HI Fmitch
Thats great Haz :)

I've just found some more words...... should I stay or should I go?
Stay and play!!!!!

Hows it gong with you JMann?
I'll take a quick ten minute break and then come back. Don't have any fun while I'm away...... And keep away from those donkeys.
no doubt haz
Hi Mickie. We meet again :)
LOL
pretty good preethi - only have 56 left
:)
Awesome :)
can't believe "vato" isn't included...that's just another English assimilated word here in southern california
why is it not letting me enter the plural of to4/4, the one right after th5/12. I know it can be pluralized. It's my last T.
I tried vato also earlier motor.
cat its just took it off me!!
it can be pluraalized, I have it on my list, and you still have a th6 to get apparently
won't take it, keeps saying not in the dictionary
what does vato mean?
I have 3 th6's
cat, you're talking about the babblet, right? The dic says it's one of those words that is both sing + pl
clues plz cat?
clues for them ones plz cat :)
cat, there are 3 to4/4s at the beginning, only the third one can be pluralized
yes, I keep trying to enter it, won't let me, maybe I should close Babble and reopen it
a vato is like a hispanic gang member...
Hi Fran! You've been lurking!
this one is the foot digit plus vowel
not a word known on the east coast
yep, that's the babblet
the foot digit plus consonant you mean?
won't accep a s on the end
nope motor, plus a vowel
hi amanda! did the grid without the chatterbox showing, was checking to see if anyone needed clues.
no, a vowel
hm...we must be thinking of different words...
the foot digit with the vowel = a currency which is both sing & pl
it's a T plus 3 vowels motor
Wow Fran, I'm impressed! I could use a v or 2...
so Cat if you have the first TO4/4, which TO are you missing?
the t+3 isn't touching the S
amanda, there are a whole bunch that start with what grapes grow on, 5 have the same first 3 letters.
motor, it does if you go up the grid
yes it is motor, up and to the right
Yay, that would be the ones I need - goes to pick grapes
gotcha...was looking lowe
it didn't allow me to pluralize either
OK, well, looks like I will be one T short, will not let me plural it, even after closing Babble and re-opening.
the to4 I have that can be pluralized is a word I don't know the definition of, but sounds like a road fee
amanda, another 'bunch' start with the v that's a valley, 4 words start with those same 3 letters.
it may actually be a word, the plural of it, but it's not one that I have
cat - what T are you looking for?
which ones do you already have?
I have that one too motor, but this word has been pluralized on these grids before, why not now, no idea. Amanda, so you have it, pluralized?
Fran - 5 grape ones and 4 valley ones, right? Got them, still missing one v
I am trying to pluralize my last T, to4/4, the foot digit plus a vowel
foot digit + first vowel.
there is no plural for that one cat, the to4/4 that has a plural is the one that sounds like to** booth
to4,4 to4,4 to4,4 to5,10 to4,4
Cat - my pseudo-road fees are pluralized.
mines too
hmmmmmm
cat, that one doesn't pluralise. the one that pluralises is the st word that's *very* similar
and it's the TO 5/10
amanda, do you have a v6 that means with visible ve4/7?
not the foot digit plus vowel
cat from which T
Yep, Fran. Ok, let's see what I've got:
ok, let me try the plural of the other to, I swore I pluralized that one before though
... 5 grapes 4 valleys 3 blood vessels baby cow Harry Potter creature garment animal dr strives grip
these are all my to's, to4/4, to4/4, to4/4, to5/10, to4/4, so maybe it's not a TO I am missing then?
fran - is that the second VE 6/27?
yes jmann.
right, there are only 5 TO's, and you seem to have them all
the last one is a v6 that means covered by velum, it's a medical term
amanda - do you have the va5 - man servant?
Thanks JM, back to the drawing board then. I don't use the list so it can complicate things when I am missing something
yes dianne, that's one of the 'valleys'
thanks fran - i got it, it was the last V i needed
man-servant...that sounds funny for some weird early AM reason...
Got the v's!!! Yay for Fran! It's list time for me now with 38 words left
Cat - there are 6 te's and 12 th's
that's about where i went to the list amanda, it should be smooth sailing for you now.
wow....I am in the presence of true pros (though unpaid, I assume)...I am humbled to be in your presence...
it's after midnight here so i'm going to bed, anyone need a quick clue first?
i'm missing 3 v's but I'm not about to bring that up again lol
lol
And I'm back. 67 still to find.
I would love to finish my 7's, but i'm missing four
motor, i guess i missed some excitement then!
Thanks FM, then I am missing a TE, I have te4/4, te4/4, te4/4, te5/10, te4/4.
wb :)
welcome back haz
scroll back for a list of the v's, motor - I'll guide you through them if you need it
just one more TE 5/10
cat9, you need the last te, te5/10
yeah i read the list...i think i'm short a grape, the HP creature (I would have no clue) and the strives
Thanks Fran, any clues on that one please?
same first 3 letters of the te4/4 with last two letters of french me
thanks JM :)
Good clue Fran I was just working out how to clue that for Cat.
thanks fmitch!
well, off to bed for me!! night all.
the only clue i could come up with was TE + either the French winemaking valley (***re Valley) or a piece of fabric called a ***ncloth
night fran sleep well :)
nite fran - have a good sleep
motor - the HP creature is the noun for the 2nd v6
nite Fran!
...which is already on the list as a v4?
...yes (HP creature = ve4/7)
Don't tell me I have to start reading Harry Potter.
and that run is the ve4/7, ve5/16. and ve6/27, right?
(actually I think the HP creature is spelled differently, now that I think about it....)
oh, i thought you meant Hewlett-Packard - I was sooo confused
thanks all, got it! But still missing one T, tha one took for the bottom right T, sheesh, I'll tackle it tomorrow. I am all "T"eed off lol
'fraid so, Haz - it's become a part of general knowledge.
lol cat
The only HP creature I can think of is the Hippogriff. Can someone describe this creature?
LOL JMann!!!
did you need a clue on it before you went Cat?
thanks fm
lol jmann
fleur is part ve4/4
welcome back Haz.
i got 2 fake bride's helmets, 2 "manservants", baby cow, 3 pseudo-arterial verbages, 1 battle for attention, 2 english grapes, 2 italian grapes, and 1 gripper
Thanks FMitch - still working to get some more before cracking open the list.
Thanks JM, but I have moved on to another letter for now, can't take any more T's right now :)
understandable
I was busy looking for a c in order to have baby cow. But it's dead baby cow......
motor - ve6/27 ..ve+ tardy.
ve6/27 = ve and what is in the middle of yr face/
sorry, and 1 essential of a 3-piece along with the pet-doc
sorry - phone disturbed my babbling. Have we gotten the v's straightened out?
Lordy lordy, I found the missing T, and it was one I forgot to pluralize, gets me everytime!
ah, nice diane ty
only 2 left
thtmotorsports: what!?! 3-piece and pet-doc??
Motorsport - A waistcat seems to be missing from your list, also examine carefully (animal especially)
vi6/27 falls between the 2 english grapes = vi + Mr Gores 1st name
Waistcoat/ men's undergarment, sometimes in attractive string variety
o_O
I think you just overloaded him Haz :)
rofl
rofl !!!
Maybe he hadn't realised that the string variety was so attractive.
I don't know what kind of men's undergarments you have there overseas that is of an attractive string variety and starts with a V...I'm a local boy lol
esp when accessorised with black socks and sandals
eeeewwww
motor - if you buy a 3 piece suit - this is one of the pieces.
that one I have
You haven't lived until you've seen British men on the beach. String ve**s, trousers rolled up, hankie on head and aforementioned sandals and socks.
i phrased it as "an essential of the 3-piece"...sorry
ewwwww Haz!!!
its a look - not the best look - but a look
Oh please Haz that is a hideous stereotype albeit based on truth (hangs head in shame).
LOL JM! That it is!
Oh-oh - brit/US translation problems! US v4/7's aren't undergarments: they're either sleeveless sweaters(jumpers) or the 3rd part of the suit
I don't even wanna think about it...I'm trying to mush through my last 2 v's....
I am on my last 2 v's also, then 10 more S's and then done
and yes, i have the stringed undergarment that Haz is so fond of...I would bet money that Mr. Connery in his 007 days would have wilted her flower wearing those undergarments lol
motor - did you get the ve6 - ve + what's runny when you have a cold.
Now if you would substitute Mr Brosnan for Mr Connery.......
Haz - mmmmmmmmmmmm
yeah, that's the third in the anti-arterial series
YUM! LOve Pierce Brosnan!
Let's all just pause and think about Pierce.
brosnan always came across to me as a limp-wristed 007...I'd leave my money on connery
but back to the v's! lol
Shaun is my fave too.
motor - how many va, ve & vi do you have?
LIMP-WRISTED!!!!! Wash out your mouth.
Limp wristed? Wha???????? He is and was the best Bond by far!
Liked Roger Moore too
connery for manliness - Roger moore for dry humor - brosnan for sex - and what was the one before brosnan?
4 va - 7 ve - 6 vi - and 0 desire to start an anti-pierce campaign on apparently solid british soil
i want to say roger daltry, but that's definitely not right
The others don't count, thats why we can't remember them JM lol
of course
Roger Moore preceded Pierce - although I have to confess that I have never watched a whole James Bond through.
8 ve's, 7 vi's, motor
motor - you are missing a ve and a vi. Let me look at you list again..
timothy dalton
Roger Daltry, The Who, right?
LOL Haz -- you're talking about undergarments and ask ME to watch my mouth? Well if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black...rofl
Timothy Dalton?
Timothy Dalton and never forget George Lazenby!
Thats it! Tim someone lol
You're right - Timothy was after Roger Moore.
timothy dalton - i was close
Everybody forgets George Lazenby.
Hiya, everyone!!!!!
all of a sudden I'm regretting my 007 comment that started this whole thing.....oye lol
But lazenby only did one film, so it doesn't really count
Just in time for movie chat, Movie Man!
LIve and Let Die, my fav Bond film, even though Brosnan wasn't in it, but loved Roger Moore also
We're normally much more intellectual, aren't we?
So did Timothy Dalton. And the Lazenby film wasted the best Bond-Girl ever - Diana Rigg!
Hiya, everyone!!!!!
Oh of course we are Haz!
Diana Rigg?? Loved the Avengers!!!
Is that Keith, MM?
Hello movieman!
hi movieman :)
wow...there went the babblegame...perhaps I should retire for the evening
Nope, amanda, it's Ray Davies.....
didn't know diana rigg was a bond girl - knew jane seymor, and halle berry and teri hatcher and maude adams
hi mm :)
...which name rings a bell, but I'm not finding the right file....
hello movieman
Well, you did mention Sean Connery - that opened the floodgates. How many words have you got, motorsport?
good morning everyone! So far this isn't too bad. Did a first run through and am still missing 65. Should reallygetout and take a walk before the mosquitos take over for the day....but just a few more minutes (how often have you heard that one?)
Diana was a Bond girl, even married him and was then killed.
Wait - (am I embarrassing myself) the Kinks?
total words I'm not even going to say, since it's pathetically less than you pros
motor - there are 5 ve4 words. Do you have all of these?
Good morning Eva!
morning haz
morning eva
does anyone have a clue for the 8?
yeah
Morning Eva
No, don't feel like that. You have shown great persistence and we all had to build up with practice.
morning FMitch
the 8 was a funky one
Hi Eva! the 8 is the tree with the most foliage
You Really Got Me, amanda......LOL
...well, it's not the tree...
you're kidding! Thats a word?!
probably not lol
The grid says so. It looks strange though.
if it will accept that then I really don't know why it won't accept some of the lovely things we invent
I agree, Eva, I mean, why, oh WHY won't "oche" be accepted? Hasn't this game heard of the game of darts?
*wipes sweat from brow* whew - I was afraid my whole keyboard was going to turn red and he'd actually be the exact opposite of the Kinks!
explain "oche" and darts to a Yank please
ok, I have (in order) 1 - va4, 2 - va5, 1 - va6, 2 - ve4, 1 - ve5, 2 - ve6, 2 more ve4, 2 - vi4, 1 - vi5, 1 more vi4, 1 more vi5, 1 more vi4
ok, can someone give me the big al's? nothing I can think of will fit in there (actually there's only one thing I can think of...)
Eva - in the game of darts, (in which the aforementioned darts are thrown at a board divided into 20 segments), the "oche" is the line behind which the competitors must stand when throwing.....
The oche is a line you stand behind whilst throwing 3 darts in turn at a round and gridded scoreboard. Very popular game in pubs.
a plus le5/16
thanks for the elucidation!
then plural that for the other one
al + grape plant
Hi movieman
ok, motor - ve4/7 is an anagram of baby cow, vi6/27 = grape plant + Mr. Gore
there must be more than one le5/16,right? I have the departure one. What's the other?
Hiya, FMitch......got any 7's? If so, clue me up plz.....
the baby cow I hav
*have
so anagram it!
ve6/27 - the anagram of the dead baby cow, plus the first two letters of a popular English beverage.
Thx all - got the al's
the other le5/16, Ira le***
thanks cat!
You're welcome Eva, that's all that came to mind, glad you got it!
So, Eva, what's merp up to today.....?
Or- ve6/27 - ve plus the opposite of early.
apparently by oxygen and sleep-deprived brain is missing the meaning of what you are trying to get me to do when you say "anagram"
Just found at7 - someone who does not believe in the existence of a god.
that ve6/27 I have
same letters, change them around
nice graphic-sort of freeform Merp
motor - ve + do-ri-me-fa-so-**
thanks cat
spire is an anagram of pries - mix the letters up.
veleat
?
Nearly - ve plus the opposite of early.
ve plus abbreviation for Louisianna
I'm coming up with really odd words.....I'm almost embarrassed to say that english linguistics is one of my better subjects...lol
or Los Angeles :)
holy monkeys.....that's what I get for thinking too hard....fojoniehteooavstelei
Found 2 more french words - french for airplane + pl
motor-you're being given clues for two different words at the same time. The ve4/7 is an anagram for the baby cow meat
the odder the better! You'd be surprised what ends up actually being accepted
yes FMitch-I was sort of surprised to see them there
got them....v's complete...ty all for assistance
Excellent!
I'm still missing one. Will go for the list soon.
also the frech to wash I found earlier too. WTG motor.
YAY!!!! V-fireworks for Motor!
now I only have 17 more tiles to complete....rofl
does anyone have a list of the 7's?
LOL, you didn't want to sleep tonight did you motor?
yeah, the motor-brain is done for the night. I have a beautiful bride to snuggle with -- at least for a couple hours
Right - off to be with you! I have no doubt you'll be back to babble some time soon.
Off to bed, I meant to say!
lol...much as I hate to say it, probably same time tomorrow....or today? i don't know blah
al, at, el, el, et, le, le, lo, th Eva :)
night night motor
bye motor!
thanks a lot cat!
Anyway, sleep well and I hope you enjoyed the game.
you're welcome Eva :)
107 for 1436 on my first time here with lack of sleep and trying to input "television" at least a dozen times...I'm happy with that lol
bye motor - get some sleep
You've done really well and practice will get you even better.
g'night folks....see you in 20
night motor!
Goodnight and sleep well.
.... and I see fireworks!!!!
congrats, fmitch!
Congratulations - you're really speedy today!
any clues for the el7? I have the 7/40 which means to raise up. Also, a clue for the et7?
good job FM
Eva - numbers
and the et is fuels
I got a head start earlier this morning Haz.
thanks guys! The el was obvious once you hinted me-still looking for the et
congrats FM!
Ah, that explains it. Still, you've finished earlier than usual.
got it!
thanks all et6 & 7 babble across the board and the end up on the top corner.
how about the th7? I'ts my last one. The off for a walk.
Not my lat word....just my last 7
One left, and wouldn't ya know it, it's always a small one, a four letter L, my monkey is busy.
plural of th6/21
th 7 is pl of th 6
must be a th6 I don't have yet
not early but ****
then change the last letter of not early to another consonant
got those
or L + an abbreviation for a road
have that
cats-do you have the plural of the british restroom?
here are the 4's I do have.....i'll write them out
then take a vowel from the L + abbr. of road
that was it!!! woo hoo, thanks JM!!!
Congrats Cat!!!
thanks JM! And thank you too Eva!!
WTG Cat!!!!!
can someone give me a clue for that th6/21 I don't have that expands into the 7?
congrats Cat!
Thank you FM!
That missing T from earlier liked to drove me crazy, I deserve tequila!!! Who wants to join me? :)
Eva - there are 4 TH 6's, but only one turns into a 7 - do you have that one?
the only th6/21s I have one is a plural already-of t+empty space, and the otheris a believer
Eva you should have a th5/12 as yr 2nd th word, add a vowel to it for the 6 + pl for the 7.
th5/12, th plus a horses r***s Expand on that to get the 5/21 and 7/32 Eva
gotta run, folks - bbl to finish
bye amanda
bye Amanda!
byeeee amanda
thanks FMitch & Cat!!
see you later
you're welcome Eva :) bye!
glad to help, have an enjoyable walk (and hi to Merp)
bye eva

Has anybody found the words that fit between the ha6/30 cut in two and the ha 4/5 to dislike? I cannot find them! HELP!!!!!
Jainniah: the Hawaian word for caucasian and the plural
jaianniah - it's that famous babble Hawaiian insult to caucasians: ha + spanish exclamation. pl too
kate - i have this "Feeling" that you'll get the answer - that's the second one - for the first one just change the first vowel
But I don't know Hawaiian!

Ty- it was NOT in the Enable Dictionary! Unfair!
Hi all is it a hard one or easy and how many words please

Has anyone a clue for the 8 please?
LE 8/55 = try the tree with the most foliage
hi everyone
Good afternoon all
Thanks, JMann - isn't that misspelled????
it looks wrong, and doesn't come up in the dictionary, but babble takes it, so that's all i care about
Only 45 to go....<chug, chug, chug>

Lol, I mean the whole first row.
in the first row... I think so...

Cat: I had to work till now. I just hate it when that happens, when life takes up so much of my babble time ;)
I'm tellin ya! Life get's in the way of Babble sometimes! :)
MY very first Grandchild is due end of July, I'm trying to figure a way to fit Babble inbetween labor pains :)
Thanks JM, I stand corrected :)
Hahahaha! Congrats, that is great. Babble will become so insignificant once your grandchild is born!
oh, don't stand on my account, please, sit
I'm sure it will Sprite :) I will be watching the little guy after she returns to work, so he will grow up on Babble:)
Im back!!
Hi Sprite
He'll become as smart as his Grandma then :) Hi Preethi!

LOL JM, I should be laying. Bit of an insomniac at times, this is one of them.
Thanks Sprite :) Hi Preethi!
then, can you give me a clue for the AL 6/27 and 7/40
I thought you were done JM? Sure, I can clue you. al6/27, al plus sounds like opposite of odd, then plural it.
it is actually, al plus le5/16
Bedtime for you, Cat, there is no double L in this grid, LOL!
got it, thanks cat
yikes, sorry! a PLUS le5/16, yikes
Hehehe :)
lol
it sounds like the opposite of odd, but spelled slightly differently, that was what was confusing me
dirk
I cannot think of an opposite of odd that would be in this grid, but hey, I know I am a bit odd ;)
my favorite painkiller is in the grid! good morning/ afternoon all
Glad you got it in spite of my wacky clue JM :)
the painkiller's there for Elvis!
the 40 word you are looking for is the age that steffi acts
Hey abe :)

I love the re's :) More words :)
Can't sleep abe, happens at times for me.
you can say that again maybe its old age half a century in December
I hate K-words. The rest is okay :D
i gotcha. i used to have a lot of problems sleeping too, and that was before babble
I agree sprite, hate K words, they are always hawaiian sounding. Lotsa vowels.
babble just makes it worse
Babble winds me up sometimes, agree, makes it harder to sleep Tiny.
ea 4/5? I know it must be really ease

We are in the high 80s but are having thunderstorms.
It is absurd, the weather I mean. One day it is so hot and humid you can't do a thing, next day it is cold wind and pouring rain. Small wonder half holland is ill.
le8/55, more foliage, more le5/16
where i'm from it's 55
Hi all how many words we looking for today?

Thats awful sprite! We had weather like that in April, one day to the next you never knew what the weather would be like.

Greetings and good day to you all! How is everyone today?

Doing very well thank you... had some rain, now its shining... school is out & we're going to the Library today
sunshine is good. can you walk to the library? that was always one of my favorite things to do
Abe - we can now walk to the library from our new house. I love it! We always did that when I was a kid
I wish. Too many big roads in the way. It's about 5 miles, too.
plural of al6/27, a plus Ira L****s
i always loved that too musicmom! well i hope you h/4 a great trip to the library jera. let the summer reading begin!
LOL, I just now saw the 5 letter that's plain as day across the top... I'm so silly
{{musicmom}} didna see ya before1
Our library is weighing all the books the kids check out this summer ---- trying to get to 500 lbs.
Did you see my postcard? It is a GS camp postcard
I took my troop yesterday to sign up for the summer reading program... everyone was impressed
morning all -- jera, my beloved just finished explaining to me what the 'frog's hair' meant -- LOL! i'm feeling a little dense this morning :)
good morning ch!
Fun Jera!
Oh, I see when I went to bigger picture. The squariing of the icon distorted it when small... cool!
Good morning all!
Is it postcar day today??
i think so. :-)
ch1212... in other words... pretty darn fine, LOL!
Morning Jen
{{Jen}}
hey jen

I second that motion!
I wanna know why ne4/4 + o isn't a word!!
Coulda sword it has been in the past, Jen...

I have just tried it like 3 times and it won't take it. :(

Ya, for hurshy!!
Hey Hurshy! How are you!!!
hurshy! How's Europe! Where are you at?
Yeah hurshy! How is the holiday going?
hiya hursh
Afternoon Girls and Boys, How are we all ?
G'day, Aussieme!
hi all, i'm in venice, we did rome before this
G'Day Jera
it's going great except haven't been able to get internet until now...and now paying 15 euros an hour
how's the baby aussieme?
Where are you staying? We stayed at the Ca del Dose near the docks last Fall
Terrific Hurshy --- Hi Aussieme - how's that baby?
Hi Aussieme!
She's great hursh, fast asleep right now.....
have to go find Hannah's underwear - be right back.
Hello All, Hiya MM, hows things?
Have you been to St. Marks? Does Venice still have the collection of head statues everywhere?
LOL, from anyone else that would saound naughty...
our hotel is right near san marco, the bauer hotel.
i haven't gone into the san marco church yet though. is that where the head statues would be?
Ooooh, hursh, you babbling on holiday ?
You are in Venice playing Babble?
Good morning, everyone...
Our hotel was near San Marco too, and there was a wonderful Picasso exhibit in the Piazza san Marco.
Greetings, BGL!
Hi, hurshy, been missing your helpful clues
Hey BGL.... Morning to you...
i don't think i can afford to actually play babble at 15 euro an hour, but i wanted to at least see everyone
fireworks! hi everyone
The heads are called "Studies of Eros" and are HUGE outdoor heads just scattered around Venice -- you can't miss them if you see one.
Huzzah for saphyre!
Well, Have a wonderful time in Venice..... Nice to see you here..... xx
Much as I love Babble, I'd rather see Venice again than play any day!
oh then i guess they were a temporary thing ch1212
Have a great and safe time Hurshy
Anyway, have a wonderful time and keep checking in --- I'll let others say hi now.
We are honored, hurshy... so nice when people care!
Hey, would you do me a favor while in Rome, hurshy??
well Jen - we had a nice gondola ride this morning and walked about a good deal both last night and after the gondola. since i couldn't get internet in rome and don't know when i'll have it again, i wanted to pop on now...too hot to be outside anyway, it will be nicer in the evening
Im at 101. Loooooonnnnnnnnngggggggg way to go
oh jera, we already did rome, that was our first stop and we left yesterday to come here
I just passed halfway
Gonna email you, hurshy, found this perfect meeting place, at the water side :)
Where are you now hurshy? My request is global...
So how much is a gondola ride going for now? I think we paid about 100 waaaay back in the 80's
i WOULD have done you a favor in rome if i had known, jera :)
oh good sprite!!!
dollars, jen? that's around what we paid (80 euro)
My daughter has a rock collection, where she collects rocks from all over the world... whenever anyone goes on vacation, she says, pick up a rock for me. Could you pick up some exotic rocks for my Sprite?? When you are back home I can send you my snail mail.
jera - i'm in venice. then going to nice, marseille, carcassonne, barcelona, madrid, biarritz, bordeaux, paris, amsterdam, london
Yeah, in dollars... I guess it hasn't gone up much then. That's good to know! :)
hi hurshy and everyone!
Hey TO!
Hiya TO.... Hows things ?
hi temple owl
She doesn't have any of those... mostly from middle eastern places where soldier friends are stationed.
Has anyone seen Rumplestiltskin about ?
Hi Aussieme, did you get the package?
hi TO :) exotic rocks, eh? perhaps on the beach on the riviera... i'll keep an eye out :)
Happy First Day of Summer, Babblers... the furnace is running, and I'm ready to Babble - too cool for yard work!
Oooh, enjoy Madrid!! We went up there a couple of times when we lived in Spain and it's an awesome place!
Too cool for yardwork??? That's something we're not saying round here!
is it the first day of summer? i've totally lost track of the day, date, etc...
Hi Hurshy and all who are traveling. Sounds like you are having a woooooooonderful time. Makes me want to go to Sweden and Scotland again.
Hello Alo..... It's the longest day today.... Summer Solstice..... Hope it means the warm weather is here to stay for us in Britain...
They don't have to LOOK exotic, just from exotic places (ie, as in out of US). That's exotic when you're ten
You guys don't wanna know what I was doing at 7:26 this morning...
Jera, my munchkin collects rocks too!!
rumple !!!!!!!! Guess what came...... Thank you soooo much, they are beautiful..... I just posted you a TY card today......
yes, Aussie... the problem is, the days start to get shorter after this.. depresses me as I LOVE the summer..
well, Jera tell us
my daughter Alyssa had a rock collection at that age, and a rock tumbler to go along with it - those things are no**y
Geez... I wonder if Lease is on todays puzzle...
How cool, Jen... are you coming to the luau Saturday, or do you have plans? Did I invite you yet??
No need for that, just enjoy with Georgia Grace. Geneva
Hubby comes home that day for good! woo hoo!!
LOL Student
Oh, out in my backyard doing my welcome Summer ritual skyclad... felt sooo naughty!
oh, this is frustrating - down to 8 left and definitely hit a wall
We're grilling & playing from 10-12, you are very welcome. then at noon the Sprite is off to camp for 2 weeks
Well, too late, posted and many thanks.... My Husband thinks you are great.... I showed him your website, he thinks the pic of you with your harp is beautiful.....
I'm here for clues if anyone needs them
ta ch
ty Aussieme and tell hubby thanks too!
You are a good person saphyre... too early for me to be asking for clues, I think...
16 left...<chug, chug, chug>.....<i think i can, i think i can, i think i can> LOL
Im off guys. See you tomorrow
not for me - AT 7/32?
bye preethi
Gotta go wake the Sprite (again) at 9:30 so we can go get the other girls & hit the Library
BRB, gotta walk the dog again! His being on steroids makes him pee A LOT
if you don't believe you are an at*
Bye, Preethi
at7- one who does not believe in any god
Well, its true !!!!! I think so too...... I think we should stay in touch !!!! I think its so cool that you play the Harp
Bye JMann, Jera
Guys, please help: what is the english word for a boat that takes you from one side of a river/canal to the other, when there is no bridge?
ferry?
barge
a Ferry
oh, that's freight
Could it be ferry, sprite?
sprite.... yes, its a ferry
Ah yeah, that was it :) Thanks!
thanks saphyre
yw
hurshy if you are still here, good traveling to you...
and in italy apparently it's a traghetta (a ferry i mean)
ran out of my first hour and had to buy another :)
et 5/12?
lol hurshy
hi hurshy
hi Abe
Just mailed you, hurshy :) That's why I wanted to know so fast, I hoped to finish the email before you ran out of your expensive internet ;)
hi hurshy
we're honored, Hurshy. Are you going to the Guggenheim museum while you are there?
ET + panty**** minus the last letter
hey aussieme!
et & fire ho* minue the last vowel
Hows things abe ?
ahh, well i will check it now. i dunno about the guggenheim, i'm not much of a museum person. and we only really have today here, we got here dinnertime yesterday and leave at noon tomorrow.
noon tomorrow?! (star trek fans??) :) :)
oh atalante!
I'd go to the Guggenheim just to take in the cool architecture
oh gosh, if you have only one day then forget the museums! Except maybe the Doge's Palace. Have fun!
ok, aussieme, and how are you?
Just wonderful..... I think motherhood suits me....
all the architecture here is cool!! i'm amazed how they've used every different kind of possible building material for all these little bridges (and the big ones too!)
and when you go to St Mark's do *not* wear shorts or short-sleeved tops, cos they won't let you in
Jera, it's a different Guggenheim in Venice -- no architecture, just art in a few buildings. Peggy Guggenheim.
Ahhhh... shows how world-savvy I am...
I'm back! :)
that's great to hear aussieme
Gotta go get things started with the kids... later, all!
yes ata, i know that, it was the same rule at the vatican, and my husband is all, you know, on top of things, so he warned me.
hi jen again
Bye Jera! Hi JMann!
wait short sleeves though? at the vatican it was only sleeveLESS that wasn't allowed. nobody's gonna wear long sleeves in this heat! but i have a long skirt on.
aussieme: i don't think our paths have crossed since you gave birth - congratulations!
ata i've got IM open too :)
bye jera
you should be fine, hurshy.
I think it's tank tops hursh
does anyone have the th4/5's?
its shoulders and legs covered - they seem to have an issue with short short sleeves as well as sleeveless. anything where shoulers could be seen
now & th*
Thank TO..... Its her pic as my profile pic..... I have to change it though, she has this adorable dress I'm dying to put on her, and take some snaps....
ah yes, my husband said shoulders and knees, mine are both covered.
i think it's sort of funny...as if knees are like soooo sexy.
oooh - so cute!
th & vowels for the other 4/5
Some knees are. Most ain't! :)
argggggh i wish that they charged per day instead of per hour. our hotel in rome was per day but only wired and our computer was being snitty about using the LAN.
I miss the volcano today. :-(
i so want to babble but i know it would take 2 hours.
and with a nice word just running so temptingly across the top of the grid...
That would be quite an expensive babble!
well, you know, i've already paid for this hour... :)
I'm back. found the underwear, cleaned the cat litter and unclogged the toilet --- my what a glamorous life I lead
talking yourself into it Hurshy? :)
We could help you make it in one hour, lol.
hi all :)
hi mm
hurshy, maybe you can babble off and on today.. go for it!
Isn't it Sarah's job to do the litter? :)
i'll just have to hope one of our coming hotels has something usable for a per-day rate. i miss playing. i've brought some printed sudokus with me but babble is... babble. no saphyre, just whining. :)
hi mickie
Yes but she is at church camp this week. I don't want it piling up for 6 days
Besides - I do it better
hi saph :)
Well, off to Bible Study. BBL (I hope)
It's hard to be away from it hurshy. I didn't babble all last week because of camp
we saw one place in rome where they are excavating some ruins in a piazza and people can't go in yet so there are like at least 2 dozen cats living in there where people won't bug them :)
Bye BGL
AND i played with such a cute puppy outside our hotel this morning.
bye bgl
OH Aussieme, I looked at Georgia Grace's picture and she is adorable. How can you put her down to Babble????
no volcano, but I spotted some cheese!
sprite - i don't see your email...?
oh the cats in Rome! We went to the Protestant Cemetary where you can donate to keep the strays fed. Wonderful cemetary, wonderful cats -- we played with them
i'm a sucker for kittens and puppies
good morning! how many words today?
206
206
stephie - 206
thank you!
I love that cat park in rome!
Werll rumple, she is asleep right now, so I have a free hand to babble with !!
Hurshy: sent at 15.12 here, 8.12 babble time.
it is funny the animals are kind of my favorite thing
hi stephie
hi!
tale
oops!! wrong box!
sprite, it didn't come through, can you try it again?
Sure!
Is anyone here from Australia that has upgraded to Pro if so how much did it cost you
Tiny - about $14 - well worth it
Done, hurshy!
Is that the $14.95
i met a nice australian lady in rome
I reckon it was $9US, turning into $14 A
We're all nice Hurshy
ah but the price has gone up student
lol student - but many of you are descended from convicts!
okay, um.... about $21 guessing?
We are all nice, I agree.....
On the bottom of the screen it says $14.95 is that australian currency
no that's american currency
Hey Hurshie dont be mean
the majority were free settlers, although, I still have an unstinctive urge to steal loaves of bread and have suffered from scurvy recently.
Nice convicts, of course!
but there are currency converters online tiny
lol student. tiny, wasn't being mean, it's a simple fact.
Ok Thanks
Anyone got some spare limes?
I will trade you for a lemon, Student ;)
Did you know that the Sons and Daughters of the Convicts were called Currency Lads and Lasses ?
hmm there are lime candies at the reception desk... would that do?
Hi Everyone
anyone have a clue on the FO 6/27?
Hey Ginger!
hi Ginger :)
this is really pretty easy today
think in the womb, JMann
They sure were.
enemy & story minus the last vowel for the fo
JMann: unborn baby like
Where in Aus are you Student ?
how many words do u have
thanks saphyre, aloyisius, sprite
Well I did it I upgraded to Pro I should be ready in 3-4 working days
ok sprite i got it and replied (and saved the info in a document so i can access it w/o internet, v important!)
ok, just two more to go
3-4 working days? it used to happen right away.
yes, musicmom... I am happily babbling this grid away- (haven't hit weirdville yet)
i'm done !!
Good job, hurshy! Looking forward to it :)

oh I see
congrats jmann
Bravo Jmann
Does anyone have the to 5? I can't find it...HELP!!!!
YAY, JMann!
wtg JMann!
i suppose if i wrote down the grid and the list i could find all the words and put them in later when my husband buys an hour for blogging...
Where in Aus are you Student ?
Bye Hurshy, I have to go. Have a great time. No Germany, eh?
i see a TO5 that's a plural...
Yey hurshy and I only have 2 more v words to find - found the rest right off
plural of the 4/4
no, no germany, i really don't like german food
look at that i can give clues even without playing, i feel so brilliant.
bye inge :)
Lol hurshy! Hurry back, we need your clues ;)
SMF, listless?
yes, I typed in that to word you clued. Bye
TO 4/4 - a fishing P***; TO 5/10 = a bunch of fishing P****
Yep totally listless and no clues from the chat
hehe, YOU don't, spritey ditey
Ty, Hurshy!
hurshy, you can always copy and paste the grid into a Word document on your hard drive. I do that sometimes when I have to go to work.
thanks everyone for your help
oooh good job SMF!
Sure do! I LOVE clues!
yw
the trouble is, ch1212, that i rely so on monkeytyping...
if i am not sure something is right, how will i know without the connection?
that is the trouble I have with doing it off line hurshy. Monkeys are my friends
take a dictionary hursh :)
good point -- it is more difficult to monkey from a copied page
Dictionaries have all too little to do with the list of accepted words, miametro! :)
Same here. I also love the typing-away-faster-than-light phase at the beginning, when you find so many words at once.
I saved the a2z lists to my computer
miametro - and i am supposed to find an unabridged webster in venice where? :)
me too sprite
Errrr.... library, hurshy?
hmm, I dunno if I should be doing this this morning. I just tried to make oales, by which I think I mean owls
I really want envision to be in the grid today
but i'll copy the grid and the list and see how i do, and then maybe put in words later if it works out well
jose
oh sprite, i was assuming the italian library would only have books in italian
oops, sorry.
If so, it doesn't deserve the name of library!
good luck, hurshy.. have fun, and don't get frustrated.. enjoy Venice!
i CAN'T go listless without the ability to monkeytype.
Morning JMann.
well they call it something else sprite so... lol
today is june 21 right?
hurshy, there are small lightweight electronic dictionaries available in several languages -- although I doubt Venice has a store that's handy. But maybe at your next stop.
yes hursh 6/21
it's ok ch1212, with the list and the grid on my computer, i know i can do it with under an hour of actual connection time. not sure how long my husband wants to blog for...
hmm. I keep looking for "love" (in all the wrong places)
lol ornith!
lol ornith!
only WHAT is wrong with AIM, it was fine when i first downloaded it and now it won't connect me
my daughter had a problem with AIM when she was in Italy
ornith - you should come here where gondolas float by with italian music players in them...
I've been there, actually, heh
No love today. And the opposite is there... and something that sounds close to love but means something very different... (Lo6/21)
i'm in the lobby of a five star hotel barefoot, do you think it likely that the hotel staff are unhappy about this?
anyone got any clues for the a? i've only got the beer and the time ones.
AIM, hurshy: Ain't Italian Messaging
lol sprite
al* vera for the 4/4
mia - french for airplane and plural
morning MAH
lets see miametro... i think "hails" works? as in hail mary in latin?
a 7/32 - one who doesn't believe
are you playing today?
miametro, I have al4/4 plant you put on your sunburn, and av4/7 birds or prayers to Mary
a 6/27 Mr Gore & what grapes grow on
miametro: At7 someone who doesn't believe in god(s).
ah well, i can't hope to compete as a clue-giver with people who actually have words. :)
ornith... are YOU a bird? :)
saphyre great clue!
Okay 84 left. Need a break. Be back after I teach piano lessons
it's related, anyway :) it's really short for ornithopter
how many words today??
you should be jotting down the clues Hurshy :)
nobody has commented on my bare feet... am i making a major faux pas or not? (and if i disappear suddenly you'll know my hour is up, btw)
206
oh saphyre, once i have seen the clue and got the word it will stay in my head :)
I work at a 4 star and nothing is said to the guests
hurshy: just be you , and enjoy yourself! and if you make a faux pas they will be polite to you - and you will learn
hurshy: in a 5* hotel you may expect the personnel to ignore anything like bare feet!
MAH - nice new icon - what's it of?
thanks...no..i worked at a resort and barefeet are allowed, of course it was on a lake, hurshy
hurshy, the italians are used to uncouth americans :) (just teasing)
I go barefoot all the time but don't know the protocol in Italy
thanks guys :)
well in Ostia, at the train station, i wasn't allowed to sit down on the platform, and i have no idea why that mattered
i was behind the yellow line...
Well hurshy, you know, when in Rome...
JMann - Don't think I will attempt it today. With 206 words and just one hour at lunchtime I know I won't be able to finish. Will have to suffer from withdrawal symptoms all day! I see you have passed me on the first list of tthe rankings and nearly up to me on the third list. Not bad for a relative beginner.
i know that about Rome sprite but i didn't know it applied to Ostia too! :)
JMann - Today's theme is postcards. The picture is one I took in San Francisco.
thanks - without you, i wouldn't be here!
is MAH your mother, JMann?
Wow Mah, so some people actually check the rankings! :)
sprite - how do you think everyone knows you are the best babbler? of course we check the rankings.
What do you think of that JMann. Wait til I tell them that tonight.
Sprite I check rankings every day
I am falling off the face of the rankings...Sudoku has taken over my life!
And there I was thinking my playing itself was what baffled you ;)
al7?
no, it's her initials - i meant, she introduced me to babble
well that too sprite :)
Okay really have to go. Bye for now
I need 3 words and I will have fireworks- ve6/27 the second; vi6/27; and vi 5/16. I can't find them. HELP!!!!! Thanks!
hurshy - JMann is sort of my boss on my moonlighting job.
i mean, it's not the worst thing i've ever heard, although my real mom might object
i know JMann i was just joking around because usually that is what people say about their parents
bye SMF
plural of the al 6
ooooh, your BOSS
vi5/16...pl what grapes grow on?
i did think as i was writing it that it sounded like that's what i was saying
Ve6 the 2nd: ve + part of your face
Are there two al6's?
and is vi6/27 similar to ve6/27? can't recall if that is a word...
just one al 6
yes vicuna Ive got the gore clue one
Thanks for the quick chat. Must get back to work. Happy Babbling everyone.
yes hursh
So the other is the one that can take a pl for a7?
hooray, then i found two things to clue :)

l
ve * tardy & ve & middle of your face

Vi6 = What grapes grow on + no one excluded minus last letter
bye jmann
whoop I thought you meant Al6
vinoes
Vi5/16 = plural of Vi4/7
sorry
Close, CJ!
lol
wait, ch1212 - you took a picture of a woman in a wedding dress from your gondola?
no JMann you have to refresh to see her new pic
or click on it
the wedding dress photo is my daughter -- you have to refresh to see the new one. F5
But clicking on it gives you the larger photo
no one excluded?
sprite - eventually both msgs got through - just slow i guess
jaianniah - everyone, everything, a short word for that...
And I do have 2x AL6. Anagrams of eachother.
jai: come one come ***
help with J's please!
Yeah, some server with congestion, I think, hurshy.
thanks everyone - have fun and good luck!

to fool je 4/9
Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
do they take french elation?
hurshy, yeah, although the, uh, less plural of them can also be a craving
ah... (and by less plural you mean singular i suppose)
yeah. am not thinking well this morning, the S threw me
clue on the Al6 & 7?
al + what your blood runs through, and pl, if i have understood sprite correctly, CJ
beer & what grapes gow on minus last vowel & the plural
oh shoot, picked the wrong anagram. ignore non-playing clue givers.
Nope, the blood canals don't go with the AL.
lol, this is terribly amusing.
lol
i think i have about 5 minutes left.
then i will actually play. but off line.
have a reat day hurshy :)
great too
You can fill in about 3/4 now without looking, hurshy!

tx jaianniah
Someone please ask for a clue so I don't have to start cleaning :)
I'm just past halfway done, a bit early to be asking :)
hi ornith
From the suggestion box: print out the four, five, and six letter words in Lickety's list, and put them in a binder- works better than switching and reloading pages all the time....
Lol saphyre! Feel free to go cleaning, I can help if needed for a little while ;)
oh, well, in that case saphyre, the first av5?
Morning, all..Saph..the 8 letter word..since you offered..LOL
thanks for the clues on the th ones I now have them too
like what you bake in, only with an a at the beginning...
hmm the 8 - someone who departs the most?
I like that clue, saphyre
good suggestion jaianniah --- another thing I do is make my babble screen a little smaller, then load lickety or BJ's list into a new window, and make that one smaller too. right now my screens are side by side. I hope I'm explaining that right.
HA..lol..ty, got it.
the tree with the most leafs? the 8
ooohhh...good clue saphyre, thanks.
LOL
ty saphyre! : )
hard one to clue - I try
fo 6/27?
fo - enemy & story minus the last vowel
baby in womb, spelled in Latin way
having to do with the baby in womb, that is
Okay, I split, and let saphyre use you all as excuse to stay away from the cleaning! Bye and thanks :)
bye Sprite :)

bye sprite :)
Life is so exciting for me..NOT

do the sell house cleaners at the babble store? How about litter box changers? :)
haha..jai..i am so puter illiterate i never leave the page..if i cant find it,..or am clued..i have to quit. (not easy being Polish and blonde)..sigh
if they sold those, I'd buy them even if I didn't play the game!
OOOO, I want a litter-box changer, too!
LOL..you guys are sooo much fun.. Later all..hugs to share
bye lianakate
Bye-bye, liankate!

Hi FMitch. 27 left to go. How about you?
Hi mickie
I'm all done Jacs finished this morning - great grid today.
Temple! I thought you were swearing there for a minute! The word you seek is an anagram of an fl word that ships do (opposite of sink).
thanks abe79 (and google translator!). I was trying to force the V into that word rather than the F
: )
anyone know the 2nd th4/5?
is there more than one word for the ships? i have 7/8 of the f's now.

my phantom word for the day is svelte

gmail chat
Hey - I'm back briefly - frantically hectic day today - 122 words left - I'll not finish tonight!
My phantom is venison
that's a good phantom
I'm having troubles with al words. Are they hard to see, or am I just blind this morning?!
i have another phantom, thieve
Why isn't aleve a word?!!
'cos it's trade marked aparently.
I've never heard of it, what does it mean?
i keep seeing velvet...morning all.
Well, it should be!
Haz, it's an American over the counter pain relief
haz, aleve is a head numbing headache medicine
Ah - that explains why I've never heard of it.
i've had to take it after working on certain grids!
le*?
oops, I meant, le8? btw, hi everyone!
LOL abe
Haz - have you come back to finish or are you done?
Hello walnutchen - le8/55 is a description of the tree bearing the most green things. It's normally spelt with an f, but not in this grid.....
I've finished - just lurking at this point.
got it haz... thanks!
my phantom word: aloof.
Congrats - it was a good one today.
You're welcome.
Yes, it was nice to get some sequences going and also to find some babblets as well. Still didn't find the Hawaiian insult without prompting.
Hi all! I just checked the rankings from my mother's house, and I finally have 1030 in the 30-day list! woo-hoo! (walking on air at the moment)
congrats stidmama
Oh I know and between you and me - I had written it down from a previous game and then forgotten it!! Along with the lipstick tree which we haven't had for ages.
Congratulations stidmama!
that was my goal, to get it just once... now
Woohoo Stidmama
Now I can relax and if I don't finish sometimes it'll be just fine. :-)
and now, back to visiting with my mom. I'll be on later to play.
you guys kickass. I haven't finished yet since the fireworks were added. I still haven't seen them. :)
The funniest thing happened to me today - I was working through, got ho5/12 then thought I would add another letter to make it a superlative - except that I then realised that it was a perfectly normal word for truthful.
I frequently monkey-type these crazy-sounding words, only to realize that a simple change in pronounciation would reveal it as a perfectly everyday word.
Great hint there Haz, good eveening by the way :-)
babble addiction/blindness takes many forms
Isn't it strange? There was one day I was seeing so up then realised it was soup!
Good evening Paddytt - just beginning the grid?
et6/21?
I did that several times yesterday I Paddy.
yeah, I've been on for a 20 min burst and got 99. Want one more then I'm off out for a meal. Hi FMitch
et6/21 and the plural are gasses, I think.
chemicals, jojo.
"you can have them bimbos, i keep my women like flo-jo." yet "flojo" is not allowed. It's obviously a word if Sir Mixalot used it!
When Sir Mixalot is the arbiter of proper English, we will be in even more trouble than with Enable! Besides, FloJo is a proper noun. It's the nichname for Florence Joiner, a track star.
We had a discussion about flo-jo this morning - flo-jo as in the runner. Is it the same one?
i know vic, it's just not often enough i get to quote Sir Mixalot in the chat, so I take every chance I can get. :)
Actually, boreetos, Sir Mixalot comes up with more frequency than he has any right to! :)
ty haz
anyhow, I'm out, I'll see you kids a little laaaaaaaaaaaaaater. he, my a key stuck, and I don't ffel like fixing it. :)
Right got my 100, that will do for the day. Off for a Chinese buffet. Good luck everyone
mmm chinese buffet
arghhh....I can't get ha5/12 and the following ha4/5 on Lickety list
I like big words and I cannot lie! You other Babblers can't deny...
chile, try an anagram of the synonym for "detest".. howdy all, back for a bit more babble..
Hi, Babbkers! Beed some clues? Here are some for t's in case you need them:Here is some help for those nasty T words! Clues for T's: Ta 4/4 sounds like a story, only anagram; the next ta 4/4 is the story; plural the second ta 5/10; ta+ vee ess: te 4/4 a blue color; te 4/4 spelling for cow's udder; te4/4 beginning of boob tube, change the last vowel; te 5/10 Latin plural the previous word; te4/4 prefix meaning "across distance" as in ****phone; te 5/10 te+ not hi but ** and add eye to that; th4/5 anagram "eath"; th 5/12 TH* (End) + not out but **;add a vowel to that for the 6; plural THAT to make the 7; plural the original 5/12 of the series; the plus ending of card game wh***; not now, but th**; plural that for the 512; the one right here are th*** (sounds like beginning of "easy"); tt+ rabbit home in ground: plural that for the 6/21; "dees and does" is how some people say th*** and th***- both of them- the second one here; Good luck- Hope these help!
thanks SO much
glad to help
think im going to take a break, down to my last 24 words now
cute Vicuna :)
se5/12? and the first se 5/16?
se5/12 - a Hebrew word seen in Psalm. It's an anagram of ha5/12 if that's any help.
ah. thans haz. I got that. Also just monkey'd the se5/16. thanks.
se5/12 a note that follows doe(sound of music)
Jai, your list of t words is awesome. I just need one from the middle and dont know how to find ust one. i need the th 6/21 after article + opposite of out, Can you figure out which clue applies there?
I forgot to say hi..im just popping in for a few minutes
inge - add a vowel for the 6/21 and then pluralise.
th 6- add the second vowel to the word that comes before it....The word before it is article + not out. Is this what you need?
I thhink you called itsji zo hink you vsllrf iy plus ending of crd game wh***,
at7? fo6?
i'm missing a ve 6, not the one with the body part...
at 7 is someone who doesn't believe in any diety
no Haz, after all the opp of out words, and before *next*
fo6/27 - variation on the spelling of fe5/16 - referring to a baby before birth
abe: Of or pertaining to vines; containing vines
ve 6 is the one where you add on the state of not being on time
at7/32 a non believer
abe: ve + "it's as clear as the **** on your face"..
or, ve + "better **** than never"
thanks caitlyn, haz, ch1212!
thanks ch, walnutchen, and aloyisius!
th6/21 - one who believes in God - the opposite of at7/32
yw
yw
theist
That'll be it.
exactly, inge :)
sorry, but now you know I got it
lol
al7/40??
al 6 and al 7 -- al 6 is a + author of Rosemary's Baby, then plural
a type of beer + grape stems minus the "e"
thanks! got them!
Good, Stephie. Go, go, go!
my roadblock is sn 6/27: clue(s) appreciated..
well, don't sn**** about it ... :)
One who cries and whines annoyingly is sn****ing.

I mean good!
yw
ty also, jai... on to the "t"s..
You are very welcome; glad to help!
Geez, it won't take Aleve *or* Tavist. Doesn't Enable believe in good medicine?
can anyone tell me what the 8 letter word begins with
le8/55
thnx vicuna
I am stuck on the ol 6/18 which I sure is going to be fishworthy... clue please?
ahh, fireworks... (-: Vicuna: make your le5/16 a superlative, believe it or not
Hello fellow Babblers - I need 1 more word - the 1st or 2nd ho5/12 (I have the one that means lift)... Any help? Please and thank you :)
ol4/4 + 1st 2 letters of popular British drink. Whoohoo Aoly!!!!
no fish, ch1212: add the past tense of to ingest to the bullfighter's cheer
bugzy change your last letter to a vowel
ch1212 - ol6 -add past tense of consume food to the bullfighter cry
Gee, great exchange, bugzy -- did you get yours?
Thanks, Aloyisius, but I was answering Bracken's question, not requesting a clue! :) Congrats, though!
TY ch - that did it - Fireworks!!
hi FMitch!
fireworks for me too!
congrats, Bugzy! and ch1212... wow, a plethora of fireworks... yay
And yay for ch1212 and aloyisuis!!
Hey Aoly - it was a good grid today wan't it?
and me - I'm off but will be back for clues later when i've eaten
thanks aloy, and congrats! You too Bugzy!
Hooray for Bugzy and ch1212!!!
I really enjoyed today's grid... not too easy, but not too hard... smooth sailing..
Wow, congrats all around, then!
It's like the 4th of July around here, all these fireworks... :)
Yup - so lets see what tomorrow brings :)
Have to dash, but will check in later to help with clues -- thanks all!
le6/18 and the following le7/28?
okay, le 6/18 -- a sore on your skin
I will be up early to check the grid... not that I'm an addict, but it seems to be my first thought...(-:
Bye ch1212 :)
susie, you there?
last word--which I cannot find by myself--ho 6/21. Any help so we can prolong the July 4th celebration
ho6/21 - the kind of man Diogenes kept looking for
What time is it with you now Aloy, seeing as yr profile covers a couple of states?
ho6/21 - truthful
hale
Say Bugzy, before I go -- I just read your bio. My beloved was librarian of a specialized collection at a monastery for 15+ years. We are now job hunting while he pursues his MLIS (he has 2 Masters degrees already and library exp but not the MLIS yet.) Are you public, private, corporate...?
same time in both states: 1:39 pm
ah...thanks ch1212
(am north now)... very cool and rainy day
PASS THE FISH... i AM DONE
ch - I'm corporate now, but I've worked in public and academic as well. Is he looking for special still, or looking to change?
Yay for Inge, and no one with fireworks ever gets a fish!
hot diggety dog, inge!
Aah so lunch time for you and evening for me. Woohoo inge.
Yay inge... glad it's finally lightened up a little here too. :)
SO EMBARRASING, TO HAVE SUCH A IMPLE WORD FOR YU LAST ONE!!!
He would prefer academic, which (of course) require the MLIS, as do most of the public listings we've seen. But we've found several across the U.S. that are willing to look at his other qualifications. There are several in MA, NH, CT and VA he's going to pursue.
Those imple words are the worst, eh? :)
hurrah for inge!!! (it's always the simple ones for me too)
Bugzy, at times it was so dark this a.m. that my inhouse birds went to sleep again.
yay inge (were you here the day when my last word was "feel" and i needed clues for it?)
no I missed that, abe.
those simple ones are the worst sometimes!
Bugzy we found an MLIS program that is completely online through Clarion University, and relatively inexpensive. It is ALA accredited, so should be decent. Have you heard of them?
Yeah, it's easier to get in the special library field without the MLIS but the public/academic world really do require it. On the good side, the academic world probably looks kindly on his other Masters... Also, MLIS is *generally* a pretty easy degree to get, compared to others. And librarians are retiring all over the place these days, so openings are getting better...
( i apologize for using a word)
hi again all, just got home and sitting with a snack before I head out to the yard for a bit.
hmm...phantom word...heaven
how easy is this grid? should I head straight for a list or try without?
try it without stidmama
I've heard of Clarion, and it's held in pretty good regard. ALA-accreditation is the key. A lot of places, if they're interested, will hire someone who's working on his MLIS and then even help out with tuition to finish. (This happened to a friend of mine who had library experience, working on an MLIS, now in a hospital library.)
go without, stid...its fun
thanks abe. *splash*
3 le's..........le4/7 followed by le6/27 followed by le5/16....?
He also has a Licensure (equivalent of a doctorate) from Rome, and speaks/reads/writes 4 languages fluently, and is currently a supervisor for a state government department. So he's multi-talented. Thanks for the input on Clarion ... I feel guilty taking up this much babble space on a private chat. Thanks again!
hi there Stid:)
I need those too Chiley
can i have a clue for the 8 pls...
Hi, stidmama! How goes it?
NP - sounds like he's well-qualified, for academia particularly. Good luck in the search!
Happy drizzly day everyone! Back for the last 81 words. How are you all? Stid try without the list. It isn't bad at all. I have 125 words with very little time put in this morning
thanks -- really must dash now
rolin, autumn is the le/8 time of the year; lots of raking
le8 - rhymes with not the lightest
4 words left and I'm really stuck... I'm missing a th6/21 and a vi6/27...fish is readied.
Hi stidmama and musicmom :)
true, not bad musicmom, already up to 36 words in just a few minutes.
Just note that the le8 is spelled with the wrong 4-point letter.
need an ha5 and ha6 too
vi6/27 - what grapes grow on + mr. gore
all three words start with the first three letters of "dungarees" brand.. for le4, just add a vowel. For le6, think of what broke in New Orleans. For le5, try the opposite of "out" for an ending
grace do you have cut in two equal parts and add the pl letter for 6
or home is a ha5 of rest and its plural
got those musicmom... thx for the vi Bugzy...
I've also got an ha meaning strong...
those are the only two sets I have so far grace
do you have the anagram of strong dislike?
Two of the th6's build of the th5/12, article+preposition. One is a plural, the other adds a vowel...
That one has a plural
yep...got that ha too
yep...got those th too
the other th6 is a believer in god, the opposite of an at7.
rats, I must go.. happy Babbling, all.. till next we meet.. adieu
bye al
bye aloy!
Au revoir, Aloyisius :)
I've got that th too.. I've got three th words in total...
*Must clean my specs. I read Stephie's post as 'ship ahoy!*
Grace - there are a bunch of very common obvious words.
there's a th5/12-- th+ spanish cheer for matador...
Bye Aoly
later Aloyisius!
btw, hi, all!
the other th6 is a plural of th5/12, t + what you dig
Hi libarebel
Hi Libarebel :)
Ah...needed to pluralize that th5... make mine carp please.
hi, musicmom!
what does that even mean? the t+what u dig
'lo. bugz!
*Hands Grace large, well-used carp*
how many of the v words are va? I am only missing two and I don't want to use the list
I've got 4 va words
that's what I've got Grace.
"t + what you dig" is a clue for a word that starts with Th and has 5 letters. Think of what you make when you're digging and add that to T...
me too
how many th words are there pls?
There are 4 va's
Thanks Ja
yes i got that bugz- but i never heard the word, like many of the ones counted here
The v's: 4 x va, 8 x ve, 7 x vi.
and i am very literate!
12 th's
oooh bugger...lol
a pox on these ha words!

le 6 and 7 combo right after the opposite of right please
le 6 is what falls off trees in autumn, haven't got the 7 yet
aknitter: skin tumor(s), kind of sounds like the French Le**** and the plural
nrkii got them
care to share the 7 back?

oh sorry le 5,6 and 7 - the tree thing, add an n then add an s
i keep seeing toilet, that's my phantom word
Please clue the last ha5/12 after the hawaiin one?
hey jen french ???
aknitter, shoot, I had those
I'm missing an L6 and L8 ... gotta see which ones
hawaiian one?
Let's see le + conclu****
which 7 do you need, i have them all but the 2 i asked for

l 8 is the most le 5 tree thing

what does it mean?
ja: wha? lol
nrkii i now have all the le's which one do you need?
Ja, there isn't any ha 5/12 after the one you just mentioned
thx, lib!
nice to have an insult nobody understands (except those who speak hawaiian). Might come in handy . . .
It's not so much an insult but means 'white person' or 'foreigner'.
lol...what about pronunciation? how would we be sure it's spoken exactly how it reads?
nrk: there is a ha 6/21 right after it
like whole?
aknitter, my last is le 6/27 (the second to last one)
nrkii, lickety has 3 x ha 5/12. I have two.
:) I'm sure I can make up a pronunciation that sounds good
or ha-lole
Pronouced 'hou le'.
*pronounced.
JA--the last is a Scottish word
ty, jacula!
Ja, one is like opposite of loves, but switch two letters around
haole Toledo!
From years of watching Hawaii 5-0, I think it's pronounced "howly"
l meant your last, JA, as it appears first in alpha order
wth is up with all these multi-cultural verbages? jeez as if it wouldn't be tough enough with semi-common English terms
lol, jilli, I believe you!
JA, it is HA + space alien who needed to phone home, plural
the singular is in the list too

hi Jai, your list is great thanx, don't get #8 am I dense?
ive figured out what the word stats mean....having a hard time figuring out what exactly Tile Stats mean....and would be nice to know what the numbers in each letter in the box mean too
just got the baby in front of her lunch, have some time to clue and chat
hpyhrted: LE + ** good ** it gets
the two ha's (5&6 respectively) between the divided ones, and the intense dislike???
sweet -- how old? the baby, I mean :)
Girl's name that starts with "le" and is short, according to the points....
oh thanx I have that but then it says plural and Ithot that was plural
cdn_in_va, like what you dig in the ground, but add an extra vowel just after the H
cdn, ha + Spanish cheer
my daughter is 13 months today! my son is 3.
last al 6 / 27 anyone?
thanks
love it -- my husband and I have been thinking about starting a family
al*** and the chipmunks + vowel
thelegend, each tile stat corresponds to a tile in the grid, the last number is how many words start from that tile.
nrkii great clue!
LEGEND: the tile stats relate tile by tile to the grid above
aknitter: al + vi 4
aknitter : another name for spirits+grape **** minus the last letter
jen, it's both a joy and a source of frustration at times! highly recommend it though.
sorry, aknitter -- wrong clue :)
8 left, i'm running out of ideas!!
thanks fran and nrkii
LOL....and here I was thinking that the "dragging" ha was the hawaiian one y'all were talking about....there was an extra letter....sheesh no wonder i didnt understand
go aknitter!
I've been teaching elementary school for a while, but I'm sure it's nothing like having little ones with you 24/7
aknitter, what can we help with?
it's such a cliche, but it changes your life completely jen.
you can do it, aknitter
oh oh is there an n missing off of lickety's list?
hey hey - how is it today?
hiya renfield
hi renfield
hi nrkii - hi fran
aknitter, I don't think so...
thee are 13 n words, aknitter
my list says i am missing an n but all my lickety blocks are full
Fran, that's what my friends keep saying, too (the ones who ahve children, of course). I'm really looking forward to it -- and apprehensive :)
aknitter, perhaps you missed typing one in?
i did that earlier, aknitter, but i had just missed typing one into lickety's list
7 -ne, 3 - ni and 3 no
off to looki
if you refresh taht may correct itself
hi everyone !
jen, i had my son when i was 36, it helps that i got all the partying out of my system and really settled down to raise them.

Lucky you -- I have one more week, feather -- you're free!!
congrats feather, welcome to summer
Jen - can I weigh in here --- I love being a stay at home mom. I taught full time when my oldest was little, then worked part time up until a year ago. I wouldn't trade what I do for anything
good for you feather !!!!
first se5/16 please
still have to go tomorrow and friday, to finish packing the room up. our building is having renovations, so have to pack half the room.
jen, for us there was no option (at least in our opinion), childcare is so expensive and we didn't think we could find someone wee trusted enough. i really enjoy it though.
peri, its not six, nor eight
ooh, wait
by our****es + vowel
nrkii, I have that one, need the other se5/16 please
sounds sort of like a metal that isn't gold
thanks nrkii
lol nrkii, i'm here thinking "pyrite???"
That's good to hear, Fran and Musicmom. I'm really leaning toward quitting my job when it happens. I know that I always loved having my mom at home.
i got it though...
:)
ok, into the list
2nd and 3rd se5/10 please
Part of it is my tendency to be a control freak. I wanted to be at every "first". I also enjoy the time I spend volunteering at their school and working with their GS troops
jen, my mom was home with me and my husband's mom was home also, so for us it was logical.
Jen, I think every mom is different. One good friend of mine went back to work, and for her, that's what makes her happy, and as a result a better mom.
brb, son wants chocolate milk.
My mom went back to work when I went to school, which also was fine.
Having said all this --- there are still days I want to run away from home<G>
lol fran, does he love chocolate milk or what?
well i found my ni screw up -- i am missing the first ni -- anhy hints? 6 to go
Peri, that makes good se***, and same word diff. vowel at end
You are absolutely right nrkii---- I have friends who work full time and are terrific moms. What I do every day would make them insance
*insane
lol -- I can imagine :)
peri, one you have 5 of, like smell sight hearing taste touch
the other is same but different last vowel
i've got the best of both worlds...home all summer with him, work during the year
thanks nrkii found them both
aknitter, first NI is singular of ni6
that is a good advantage of being a teacher . . .
missing third se4/4
eek, I just realized the time -- I have quartet practice in 1/2 an hour
NM found it
Well, I am lleaving since my clues dont work anyway.
i hate vowels. can i just mention that?
Peri, Act 3, Sc*** 4 (drop the c)
thanks so much for the advice and for the help on the grid, all -- see you tomorrow ;)
bye inge and jen!
see you inge and jen!
Okay digging back into the grid. Just wanted to weigh in with my opinion (I know you all just couldn't live without it)<G>

ol4/4, have margerine and spanish word
hi aussieme!
peanut, if you right click on the link below for Lickety's Babble Clues, you can open up that list in a separate window -- that will give you point values and 2 letter starts for all of today's words -- it helps A LOT!
hi aussieme
Hiya fran
Having plodded through most of the grid onand off today I find myself in the usual last fling bind. I can't find the second ve6 or the second vi5 nyideas?
NM found it another word for margerine similar to the other one
peri, change the last letter of the margarine
peri, change last letter one more time
gotta go bye
hiya nrkii
hetty, ve 6 is either ve + what you smell with or ve + not early
yes peri, make it the first vowel
vi 5 is wines
1 word left ho 5 just before the owl
bye peanut
I have the not early one, but not the nose one. Thanks
2nd al6/27 anyone
aknitter, h + not twos or threes

peri, al + what grapes grow on
oooo just got the 7/40!!!
the one right after to be sincere
feather, el 7 40 is either numbers after tens or to raise up
Fran, thanks
aknitter, that's an ho 4, h + opposite of offs
Feathre, think numbers--there are several today, such as se*** and el****
aknitter, it's a ho4/5, first 3 letters of sincere plus plural letter
oh man....i've been seeing that clue a lot, and didn't enter it, figuring i had it already....sigh...
yw peri!

al7 begins wit beer and ends with first three letters of the word to end
thanks! had the plural of ea4/7, but not the singular
ak that said no to me
yay aknitter!!!!

brb, baby wants down
at 7 is the word to describe one who avers there is no God
sorry motor beer + grapes grow here
awesome. ok, my last A...the top av 5/16?
I have one elusive vi left, please--vi5/16
beer plus grapes = "not found in dictionary"
feather, first four letters of a word for large street + plural
ie. the second one .I have italian for wine
hetty, either wines or the things grapes grow on
hehe, the word i tried just before that was the same but the fourth letter was an R....which isn't even in the bleeping grid!
tht, beer + what grapes grow on, minus last vowel, plural
hetty, do you have the plural Italian for wines ?
je4/9 (I have the Korean currency) and je4/12 please
just got it, thx nkr
motor -- another word for beer that starts with al + the plant grapes grow on
just need je4/12 now
nrkii, I have all of those, the one I'm looking for comes before the third letter changes to a "s"
je 4/12 is je + a **w good men
i am off like a heard of turtles ... c u all tomorrow

lo Fran! Apologies, nrkii, i've done my customary miscount --what I'm seeking is the vi6
like the clue nrkii
hetty, what holds grapes + VP Gore
nrkii, figured out your first clue, thanks
i always thought that je4/12 was slang!
It's a real spanish word, means chief
Opened up enable and there it was. Thanks, nrkii. When one goes to lists it's a double-edged sword.
i didn't know there was a word listing....sheesh
11 left all H words
goooo peri!
go peri go!!
how many words today?
did you know that steve was not found in the dictionary !!
206
man, tonight's a night i wish i had a nice glass of wine
KJS, 206
206 KJS
Many of the ha words, peri have to do with a word for healthy--Brits say ha** and hearty
well with all the wine words, I can see why!
eeeeeeesh. I'm not even half done, then. GRRRR.
hehe, didn't even think of that!
feather, it was subliminally working on your brain!!
not to mention all our wine clues!
If you have those, then there are 3 that begin the scots way with a second vowel after the first
anyone recommend a nice white zin?
this is kinda tough with now 3 screens open...seems like more work than a game...
Sorry featherbee. THere's no such thing as a nice white zin.
gewurtztraminer or reisling for me I think
Gallo of Sonoma is a reliable label
Now....Red Zin is another thing altogether.
So what other h words are you looking for peri?
4th ha4/5 and 2nd ha5/12 please
i prefer a big red though
found the ha4/5
no, I still need the 4th ha4/5
i'm not much of a drinker at all, and the only wine i like is white zin
Fran, me too on the big red
everything else is too strong for me!
th ha4/5 is the one gave you--ha** and hearty--rhymes iwth male
h + beer peri
i can do mixed drinks with no problemo though!
peri, what angels have?
have that one
second ha5 pluralizes it
Try Mike's Hard Lemonade or the other Mike's drinks and stay away from that nasty Hawaiian punch.
oh, peri, anagram of opposite of LOVE
called hubby and asked him to pick up a reisling...mike's lemonade is good, had it once!
I still need one more l. le 6/27. I have the one that rhymes with heaven, departs and regarding taxes. Any clues please?
nrkii have that one too, need the 4th ha4/5
peri, you don't need the 4th
peri, the fourth is the one every body clued, ha** and hearty
ha + spanish is known as **panol?
the fourth ha4/5 s the one I've twice clued --rhymes with male
reislings are good but tend to be very sweet. Nice dessert wines. Yummy.
the first three all have the same first 3 letters, see nrk's clue for the anagram of opp of love.
I have that as the third ha hetty
peri, here we go:
If yiu eed the fifth, it's what saints have over their heads
ha + the finish is known as the **d
yep. sweet is what works for me!
ha + spanish is known as **panol
ha + space alien who needed to phone home
nrkii, thanks that is the one I was missing
ha** and hearty
you'll like reisling then feather, very drinkable
then there's the op of love, and the verb meaning to own.
cool. too bad i can't have it right now though! he won't be home till much later, so will have to save it for tomorrow
missinf first ha5/12 have the plural of ha** and hearty
feather, gewurtztraminer and reisling are similar
meant missing, I so want to see firework tonight!!
you know it's been a tough day when i want a glass of wine, and i don't usually drink
plural of the 4 you just got peri
more plurals peri
peri, the first ha5/12 is plural of the last clue nrk gave you
ha + space alien
lol, i picked reisling because i couldn't figure out how to say the other one on the cell to my husband!
thanks nrkii
That was the third a4,peri; the other ha5/12 takes the ord for what saints wear, anagramisesit, and adds an "e"
ok, back to grid
lol feather! it is a mouthful for sure.
feather, yep it's a toughy -- GUH VURTZ TRA MEENER
3rd ha5/12 and 2nd ha6/21 please
peri, hetty just clued for you (psychic hetty!)
ha + spanish bullfighting cheer
peri, it's a white foreigner in Hawaii, ha + spanish cheer
the second pluralizes the first/take your ha**, mix it up, add an e
then plural for 6/21
nrki and Fran thanks
4 left !!
go per!!!
good for you, peri, tho I seem not to be much help, I'm trying (my husband would say--yes, very trying!)
k finally got all the 7's
you're doing fine hetty, sometimes it just takes clues from multiple directions to work
lol hetty, your husband must be as fun as you are!!
wtg motor
first two ho5/12 please
those lists suck, unless you have your comp hooked up to some ginormous screen where you can read all three windows simultaneously
hi all. 2 left... sn6 and ve6. any help? thanks.
first one rhymes with your no 5/10 meaning loud sounds
one is to lift something with rope, the other just changes last letter to a vowel peri
peri: first two hos have just the last letter differ. One of them means to hold up (support) something really heavy.
second one starts same but ends in consonant and means to lift up
motor, i just print the list out
nrkii, walnut and Fran, thanks
thtmotorsports, i have firefox, so it's just a matter of flipping between the two tabs. doesn't bother me! or you can print it if you prefer.
sn 6 = to run at the nose, or whine tearfully
or you can open in a new window and alt+tab between windows
fran, I'm on a limited printing budget...can't afford to be that hardcore yet lol
ho6/21 anyone
don't lie peri
motor, I shrink the list window so it is very narrow on the left side of my screen, and then move this window a bit to the right
sn6 is a portmanteau word: sniff and drivel.
ho6: a person that always tells the truth is very ho6!
walnut, just found it right before I saw your clue, thanks
And yes, my man is a fun guy and we think a lot alike
got it. thanks nrkii/Hetty
now ve6... last word...
ve 6 = ve + what you smell with or ve + not early
venose
oops!
oops sorry guys. thanks nrkii.
oooooooooooooooooooops.
np, congrats!
sorry y'all.
missing one of the last ho4/5 have what an owl says
ve6is like tellling a story--re****--with a "v" instead of an "r"
and what your water your garden with
i gotta go take care of some business...be back later
peri, take the ho 5 before the truthful word, and drop the last vowel
peri, first 3 letters of truthful and pluralize it
bye motor
do yoiu hav eofficial term for stockings, peri?
peri: you got the one that sprays water?
later motor
congratulations walnut!!
peace
thank you Fran and nrkii, I got FIREWORKS!!

congrats peri!!!
Congratulations to both you perseverers.
double yay for peri and walnut!!!
feather, how are you doing?
oh, congrats walnut!!
69 left here...store doens't have either brand. hmphf.
I usually don't have the patience to finish a long one.
feather, any brand will prob do
gotta go, see you all tomorrow
night peri!
store doesn't have either type of wine? reisling or gewurtz?
ehh, had my heart set on the reisling, and in a snit anyway, didn't want a substitute! i'll check the "nicer" store tomorrow
feather, too bad about the wine. My husband makes ours and it's always good; wish I could spirit some over to you.
yeah, it's more of a hooch store really that he went to. *sigh*
oh that's sad... sorry
i don't think Gallo of Sonoma makes reisling or gewurtz anyway.
ooo, yum hetty!
that was a husband-like joke, by the way
okay, I gotta step away for a while
later nrk!
see you later
the spiriting bit, I mean
lol, flew right by me hetty!
oh man, and i didn't mean that punny take on it in my reply either!
bye nrkii
hetty jokes are quite subtle, you really gotta pay attention!
i see that!
hi all! =D
lol, hey tina! i'm hiding out over here
hi moon
sorry to ask again, but I'm having trouble with th 7/32
(this is my first babble, and my brain is burning out, I'm afraid)
i'm in a snit, so am finishing the grid without letting anyone know i'm online!
haha
hi fran =)
th7/32 is a plural of the th6/21, rhymes with the se6/18 that is also a river
see you later feather!

oh, okay!
*giggles*

thanks. that is one that i'd never have found
Hi, all! I made a list of clues for the "L" words- do you want it?
I'll jump on the need-a-clue bandwagon...need the first ne4/4 and ne5/12
hi all, i need a few hints. te 5/10, to 4/4 have two tol and one too, and also va 6/27. Any one can help please.
dorens it's a kind of fish larvae i think! not an everyday word for sure.
hi jai!

eva, i just remembered there is one on the blog right now -- http://theothermother.typepad.com
th6/21 is definite article + opp of out + E
mom-I'd never heard this word before. It comes off of the th5/12, which becomes a plural, and then adds a vowel and plural. the base is definite article + opp of out
Oh Fran, wish I could give good clues like you! Got 'em both! : )

stid, al 6 is beer + what grapes grow on, minus last vowel
lol fire - that's right --- great clue jee!!! LOL
thanks firefly!
hiya stid - hope you feel better soon :)
It might be nice if all people tried to be as helpful and precise as I was...
I was just trying to show Flosy the great clues that are given....:)
thanks, got the fo. I have that al 6, it's the last one. I need the first one and assume the 7 will be its plural?
yes jee, i totally agree :)
indeedy jee
yes stid
stid - reverse the last two letters of the one you have
evening everyone
beer + what grapes grow on minus last letter
a plus Ira *****?
wait. no. that won't help you at all!
sheesh. i've been staring at the grid too long. my brain hurts.
al*** and the chipmunks + vowel
hi mymuse!
and then the a7 is one who does not believe in god
Cat, I've been dying to use an Ira ***** clue all day!
no, I have the AT 7, I need the AL 7/40... and the 6/27 that comes before... I have the AL chipmunk one.
18 to go and i'm stuck on all of em.
stid, sorry, did my last two clues help? I think my earlier ones were for the wrong words...
okay stid, take the chipmunk one, and move the last vowel to the 3rd position
quiet observation...there are toooo many t, h, and s words today.
but you have the beer and grape stem one?
stid - nrkii's clue were not for the chipmunk one.
and its plural?
(that was my beer + what grapes grow on clue)
lol nrkii! That is the only clue I could think of for that word :)
these are tough, because the two al 6 are so close to each other
another clue for those, stid - would he to take the last two le words on the list and add a vowel to the beginning
I'm missing one of the SE 5/16s, the first one
oh.... duh! Thank you for being so patient with me. Darci, Cat9, nrkii and firefly you are all wonderful...

thanks saph!
thanks...gggrreat clues!
which letter bored?
bored86 click on lickety's babble clues on botton of page for the list
bored86... one of the lists is Lickety's Babble Clues linked at the bottom of this page
t, h, a, l, f, the e on the left...
s, t
well, it's not cheating, but if we're racing and one person's using the list and the other isn't that's not really fair
a T from the bottom right corner?
not cheating debb, using the resources that are available to us, just like asking for clues!!
true TA
i'm not complaining LA, you did fine!
aaah - i admire the listless ones - i barely finish with the list1
te 5/10 - te + first letter of my name + fourth vowel + third vowel?
or, same first three letters + first vowel + second vowel
debbinla...i couldn't finish without the list either
i can't believe there are 10 J words. I only have 6. I think this is too hard....waaaaaa.

vi6/27 - grape stem + ** Gore
le8-superlative of the le 5/16 (in the fall, with even more le6/27 it seems even le******)
the tree with he most lea****is the le********
kierlex, most green things (think tree) use a V where you'd expect an F
vi 5 - both plurals. one of what grapes grow on, one another word for wine
another is a grape tree
le8
