Hello Jem.
Where do your parents and aunt live now? Is it close?
Hi MrP too -- the Land of Oz has arrived
hi muse
By the way, where do you live now? Near New York?
Hi, how are your holidays so far??
Sorry, Min, parents and aunt are long gone
Good actually, read two books today. Enjoying the break.
Same here!!(:
I now live in British Columbia, Canada
They must have lived in Yonkers when it was still nice
I hear stories about how Yonkers used to be so nice!
Maybe -- late 70s, early 80s. Not nice now?
sh4, and when the brits arrive they can clue you in on that on
Oh right of course, just look at your flag! Not near NY
whee, well thats all the q's done and 40 words knocked off already, i'[ll be back later
wow misu, you've been busy
I think Yonkers was beautiful in the 50s and the 60s.
i looked at the grid and wors just sort of leapt of at me.. doesnt happen often 8-)
see what happens when you don't chat? I have 8, but it's been fun
well, that's when they moved there, min
Can anyone give me a clue for ar 6/24??
that's in the last grid, no r's here jemma
Okay,I'm going to shut up now because I am going to get in trouble w/age. Already assumed your parents were still alive. I am so sorry about that one jillibus!!
jemma, I think you're looking at lickety's list for yesterday
Yeah, probably!!
and why isn't sheesh a word!
no prob, minver! Age doesn't matter here
sometimes lickety doesn't change for me for a few hours
d8...there seems to be a theme here w/ the p7, (also the d4 and the t4)
Goodnight everybody! Thanks for the all of the clues!

so is every one good
somebody got a big q a while ago but didn't clue it
lol knutmeg - now i hope it's out of my system too
i have a q 7 start with 5 kids
big qu 8/65 sounds like a drunk trying to say that fun looking game from harry potter
too bad there's no be for the queath
yay i found 7 letter word
*running to get a copy of Harry Potter*
Great clue knut!
qu 8 is the same as the h 7 but with qu instead of h
Great clue, but still not getting it...
also a 8 is went looking for old things
i found a 7 letter word**
for the q add letters to the qu 4/7
has enyone found an 8 letter word?
that's what they're all talking about - a qu8
7 is my top so far - lickety still not up yet
well sone flosey
i ment 2 say well done flosey
found 3: qu8/65 (sounds like game from HP, is plural) an8/60 past tense of past things, and da8/45 a proper lady is very da***y pluralized
All very helpful if you have the h7 or the qu4/7, but...
tks miki
Right, well I'm going to head out for now. It's about that time. Have a great day everyone.
Miss ABS, i wish you were here to help me again, you are soooooo good at this game!!
yeah, the h7 is a mystery to me, and I am thinking i must have the wrong qu4/7
right on, unc
h 7 is what you do when you attach horses to a wagon
Bye Miss ABS!!(: See you in a few weeks!!
actually it's what "one does"
that did it-- thanks, ls
Sounds good Jem, and good luck on the puzzle.

yw :-)
got it knutmeg but what on earth does it mean?
now , that was a clue that i got, thanx Knut
Sorry Jilli, but i am not going, i was saying goodbye to Miss ABS!! lol
no clue. I prefer to think of it as a drunk HP sports fan's word for their favorite game. If I look up the def, I'm sure I'll be dissappointed...
no entry found in the dictionary for the qu8, flosey! Aarrgh
HP ?
Harry Potter
No, it's a perennial grass, according to the Scrabble dictionary
ah, thanks, not a HP fan myself
HP plays Quidditch.
great def for the singular of it, tho: a kind of grass, OR a vice, taint, or evil: To pick the vicious q****** Of blood and custom wholly out of him. --Tennyson
thanks, Erda and scrabble
not a hp fan - bbbbbbbut, alan as severus, you don't know what you
thanks erda, thought that started with t
're missing!!!!!!
helen - you amaze me. you can make alan fit any theme!
im so bad at this game
lol ls1 - pretty easy! it's going to be my new challange - we have timepieces, jewelry & ketttles coming up
I didn't exactly say a word, but sorry anyway *slapping wrist
no you're t miki - you just need to keep at it
kettles = cauldrons, hmmmm, guess i'll have to use SEVERUS SNAPE for that one, hahahaha
lol helen
i have faith you'll be able to get all of them helen

A babble revolt! That's what we need!
YAY!!!!

Hello All
a clue for the an8/60... made old over time, furniture/jewellery in particular
hello chic!
you rang earlier, mrp and I missed you by 1 min.
yeah, then the galahs let go of the wires and the connection bombed out!
pity that!
this puzzle could use an r
Lickety is sending hugs and kisses! **forgiven**
:-)
there is nothing so frustrating as typing in the same word several times, getting mad at the 'puter and then finding out YOU are spelling the word wrong! <blush>
happens to all of us!!
nef; that is what babblle can do for you and to you...LOL
i'm done for the night - have a great night/day everyone - see you tomorrow
Except maybe getting mad at the computer because it won't let you enter the same word you've already entered 100 times before. Apparently you only get the pretty green bar the first time...
LOL, Knut! that is another thing I'm guilty of! :D
But the flip side... its so fun when you misspell something, and it works anyway! A surprise pretty gren bar!
got to go, lots to do this am, bbl
green bar? Spinach juice on tap?
lol!
I mean the bar under the puzzle that tells you your word worked, of course. Although, I was thinking that ecto cooler flavor of Hi-C from my childhood would make an interesting mixer for drinks the other day...
Hello! How's everyone doing tonight?
Hi wassup1 We're having fun
ecto coolers. i remember those!
is my burt reynolds icon showing up?
O yes
good, i went searching for the most recognizable moustache. there he is.
it was a very nummy flavor of juice. Wonder if they still have it available somehwere...
i really liked the cactus coolers. supposedly they still have them in california. i wouldn't know, i'm in oregon. sad...
IL m'self, so way far away. Maybe I'll google it after I find these last 17 words...
i have a feeling i won't finish this one. i'm only at 35 and slowing rapidly
dang, no sega
i need two more - the in 7/40 and the de 7/36. anyone help? thanks
wassup, im in oregon too
i may have said that already!
where in or?
coos bay
oh cool. i'm in hillsboro. we were at the coast 2 weeks ago. in waldport
in+qu5 de+pa5
nice! i went to bend a week ago myself
joey de7/36 = to remove color from a wall
yo sarah...
omg, I never would have thought of that. thanks
hey ashley!
nice icon ashley. :)
*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
and my quote.... :)
congrats, mrp. i am one behind. the in 7/40
yeah, i like it.
joey in7 = in + opposite of loud
I clued that on in+qu for shhhh
i tried to go to sleep at 10. yeah right. i'm wide awake. trying to will myself to sleep here.
thanks, got it just after i said it. thanks,
and it doesn't help that my neighbors are having a kegger.
i was so freaking bored today!! james was at work, both of my only friends were "busy" and my mom and don were "sick" and then you guys didn't meet up. I kept saying "i'm so unloved!!"
my neighbors are a frat house and they have keggers every night!!
bummer! if i'd known, i would have called you! we spent the entire day at amy's pool. it was marvelous
i hate you so much..... (shaking fist at you). but seriously that sounds exactly like what i'd want to do today
we'll be doing more of it this week. you're totally invited (making doe eyes and blinking furiously)
hehe! i imagined the cat in shrek 2. cool! i'm not busy on wednesday, so yeah that's be freakin' sweet
sounds like a plan to me!
haha!! i just read the sentence i just tried to assemble. whoops.
that's be freakin
it inda works in its own ebonics kinda way
kinda
woo hoo! done with the a's
yeah, well... i'm done with the v's
very funny, froelica
sixteen qu's?? no way!!
ooh, big talker now are we?
i try jillibus. you gotta brag about something, you know?
*~*~*~~*~*FIREWORKS*~*~*~*~*~* for me!
Congrats Knutmeg!
woot woot!
well done knut
thank you! Now off to attend to my needs for sleep. G'night, all!
I WOULD be bragging if I were knutmeg! YAY, miracle worker!
Yay Knutmeg
Knutmeg - Congrats! Sorry for clue delay - was stuck in a meeting.
i want cheese to be in there so badly!
Thanks Lickety, as always!!
and snape
i'm falling asleep. good. i have to be up in 6 and a half hours. good night all. ashley, i'll text you about the pool thing
nighty night
jo
hi
Any hints on the di 7/40?
just got di7/40 - people dig them
rhymes with female dogs
thank you jill
yw arb
I told myself to qu** like cinderella and now I've turned into a pumpkin so... goodnight all!
good night. sweet dreams
I must be really tired...I can't see the da5/12
i believe it is the fish with two vowels at the end
oh my word! i was just assailed by a giant spider on my couch, and he ran deep into the couch and now i'm afraid to sit on it but i have a teeny tiny apartment so there's nowhere for me to hide!! eeep!!
ty muchly. I still have 76 left but I think it's bedtime. I have a flight east in 8 hours...better get to bed
froelica, lol, im sure he is more scared of you , then you are of him , x
kill spider....by any means necessary
yeah right! he had fangs, and he knew i wanted to kill him, so he's out for revenge..... (holding a shoe and looking every which way)
rofl, its a spider what it going to do kill you!!!! lol
most large spiders eat the maller ones
smaller*
when you get a chance get some spray for spiders and spray all in and around your couch...them bad boys might have set up camp in your couch
yeah, but he's hungry cause he's the onyl one around....
LOL maybe he would like a bickky!!! lol
oh my god that's the scariest thing i've ever heard Enigma....
just because you are not scared of a spider m3...don't assume everyone else should think that spiders are harmless
i have two on my celling now , ill hoover them up later
the bigger and the darker colored a spider is the more scaried of it i am
he was really crunchy looking
they are harmless, i dont mind them. i do find it hard to empthasise with those who dont like them!!!
lol
hoover it up then lol
I tend to catch the spiders I find and release them outside
could i please have a clue for in 7/40?
hehe i wish i could, but all i have is one of those movie theater vacuums
as long as a spider stays out of my immediate space and out of my sight i am okay with it...but when it invades my immediate space and is my view it has to go permanently
pine thats nice, i have so many living near feilds. i would spend all day collecting spiders lol x
I used to try the glas over the top and card underneith (had to wear rubber gloves but then I would throw the whole lot out of the window inc the glass, so had to stop that.
Good morning all.
pinecone, i make everyone else i know do that, but when i'm alone with them, and its me or them... squisheroo
sometimes i catch bugs and spiders in containers b/c it's easier than squishing them at that time
fmitch lol,
I understand froelica...sometimes my cat gets to them before I do and then they are a snack
morning Haz,, whats your take on spiders!!!
that's why i love cats. so useful. i really do need to get a "guard cat"
Oh no pincone - I couldn't watch that!!!! Good morning Haz
I don't mind them particularly, my younger daughter gets an attack of the vapours with them, though. Slugs are my bete noire.
one trick i use to make sure a spider or flying, stinging insect doesn't have too much of a fighting chance when i am out to kill it...i use stout cleaning spray to injury them enough to where i can get in close to kill it
but slugs can't jump at you..... (shudder)
slugs are okay as long as stay outside
True froelica, UK spiders don't jump either, thank goodness!
They can't jump, true, but the thought of touching one..... And they're ugly and plain wrong.
i like to way that slug/snail slime trails look in the sunlight
Not when it leads to my plants....
true
man, i'm never gonna feel safe again tonight. i keep scratching everywhere and checking my space bubble
hi everyone, just starting for today
hows the grid, hard or easy
as far as i know practically all spiders can jump to some degree
I can't see those pa 7/40's -- any help?
man enigma, you just keep making me feel better and better :)
Good morning Beaster - and hi FMitch, didn't say hello earlier - too busy coping with the trauma of thinking about slugs!
sorry for scary you froelica
Enigma - stop it!!! I've had to go and put socks on as it is, could bear bare feet and all the spider talk Just call me a wimp :)
scary = scaring
hhehe its okay. i was already terrified, so...
okay, i'm going back in for a peek. anything i see moving gets it!
arb, think knickers for pa7
all of my relatives laugh at me because when a stinging, flying insect; spider; or any scary-looking insect is on me or trying to get at me i run like a madman trying to get the hell away from it
and I AM going to bed, I am I am
cya jilli
me too enigma. but my boyfriend is waaayyy worse.
Haz, Happy Monday - and lets see what the day brings (apart from this rather sticky grid).
could i please i have clue for in7/40???
he's convinced that they've formed little armies with strategies of attack plans, and that they're out for human flesh, especially if he tries to kill them.
i've got the same problem too, froelica...my hubby is way more terrified of stuff like that than i am
he's not schizophrenic i swear..
phhh... men.
Jilli -- these pa words come before the knicker words
clue for pa7+8 please
CLM - in + q5/16
just gave one, oggy, at 2:28
i don't anybody schizo for thinking that 'cause insects and humans just don't mix well in today's society...way too many humans and insects fighting for territory
oh, sorry, arb
jil got that one i need the others
jill -- isn't that pa 7/32?
yup. we need our couches and cheetos, they need little nooks and crannies and human flesh. creepy little....grrr
thank you very much!
Cool - another short list. How is everyone?
jil there are 2 more 7 + 1 x8
i am so creeped out and scaried of what might be lurking in wooded areas that i don't even bother venturing in them unless i absolutely have to
Hi matty
i know!! one time i went camping and we were bombarded by these ninja-raccons. now they were scary cause they worked together and got into our tents.....
Forgot to say good morning -- good morning!
raccoons are cute from a distance...i have heard many tales of raccoons being vicious around pets
Back shortly - the morning work run awaits.
they totally cute!!, except when they carry diseases and can unzip your tent while you're sleeping inside
they're
Who is here today - any toddlers?
yeah, i have heard that raccoons are notorious for having rabies...they sure can use those little hands of theirs
LOL matty - there have been no visits so far....
insuinuating something, matty?
just curious
Which part of the world are you from Enigma?
USA
Mississippi
Welcome, been playing long?
hello mummy and daddy bridge build it go over get over it that was last night get a life. I have as much right as anyone to use this site and defend myself. I was going to say nothing but you couldn't build it

maybe if i name the spider and give him a back-story he wont bother me so much. i'll name him "ted".
huh
well i was going to say hi but it seems some people are still being rude and childlike
nobody said anything to you that was rude, that i know of shadow
cant u tell its monday lol
Good morning everyone
read down to matty and mitch at 239pm froelica, i was saying didly squate and i have these insinuations from last night
Morning Daily
morning daily
oh well.... did you do something to make them mad??
yes last night for pity sake fro i mean bridge build it and i did say sorry and was promptly shot down for it
well, even if it was last night, i mean i know i'm still mad the night day when i fight with someone. you just gotta show them its over instead of continuing the tension
did said squat
next day i mean
takes longer than that im afraid
i was called a toddler and after all i mean that im here today to play not argue its ok fro spelling not my forta in this box
Can we just let this whole thing drop? Shadow you upset a lot of people yesterday and have upset the balance of the babble log. Now you are playing the victim - can we all just leave it and go on as it is spoiling the game for an awful lot of players. Regardless of if it correct or not you are perceived to be a trouble maker.
exactly, if you want to be treated a certain way, then act like it, don
dont continue to bring it up
Sh 4/5 Happens. Let's all be friends now. :P
HAHA!!
lol, had to laugh at that one, euterpe... okay, back to being a lurker.
Hey Ho Hum i hadn't said a friggen word and when i log on i have someone call me a toddler so whos doing what now, as for playing im sitting here at the putor minding my own and not saying anying thing and all of a sudden someone asked what happened so i said know im getting the poo thrown at me like bad tempered prisoners in a dock, and befor you start on that one i have seen someone do that
as i said i am quiet happy to sit and do the puzzle and say nothing if people want to stop insulting me when i haven't said squat
matty & fmitch hand't even mentioned your name so why did you think they were talking about you?
We would all be quite happy for you to be quiet.
Ha Hum From matty "Who is here today - any toddlers?" same as what matty called me last night
does this remind anyone of being back in jr high? personally i tried to repress any memories of that time in my life
Im off back to play the game, can't be on with all this rubbish.
Shadow i said this the other night and now say it again PUT A SOCK IN IT
I want "seethe"
i still want "cheese" more than anything
jilli - did you ever find the pa 7,40? I have one but can't find the other.
in more ways than one
good nite everyone, see you tomorrow :)
does anyone know if "cheesed" would be a valid word, as in "i'm really cheesed off right now"?
sorry, kkiln, I don't have any pa7/40s!
hey hey hey go fuck your self andree as i hadn't said shit and now you are just pissing me off
would i please be able to have a clue for eq7/40??
pa7 are spelled the same but different vowel at end plus pural
Hey andrea did I rattle your cage NO so shut up!!!
good night helen. I left a long time ago -- didn't you notice? LOL
right jili, same as me, lol
i got fireworks.
Congrats oggy!
wd oggy :)
wtg oggy !!!!!!!!!!
Here's to the Great Og!!!
well done oggy!!
see now this is why people mess with you shadow, you must really enjoy this negative attention. chill out
Well done, Oggy.
Congratulations oggy!
yeh Oggy
(envious of oggy right now)
congrats oggy
Ditto that, froelica.
hello all
i agree froelica - i am so envious of oggy too! I have 41 to go!!
I've had enough for now. Just ignore the nonsense.
Hey al3ksia.
hi al3ksia
cindasu -- that is not working for me...i got the plural and the second vowel....the other vowel (third vowel)is not being accepted.
mmm negative attention
my contact just popped out!! wow...
Hate it when that happens.
one uses 1st vowel the other the 2nd vowel at end
looking for the qu 5/16 that's not royalty
qu5/16 can be opposite of noisy and an anagram of the same word
Thanks cindasu --- just looked down...didn't look up.
it was all babble's fault (shaking fist at screen)
qu 5/16 is like qu 6/27 only - 4 letter.
your welcome
It can also be the start of a 5 piece band
how many qs folks
16

De 7,36?
Mm. I love Wuthering Heights.
Had to get that out of my system.
de+pa5/15
We don't have AC either, but we've managed by keeping all the curtains closed and by not doing much when the heat gets real bad.
sorry de+pa5/12
must be the heat no one can take a joke except the canadians

I haven't been able to go to the work room all weekedn, that place goets so hot and haing the steam iron on in there helps none
Did you blaspheme marso? What did god do wrong your upsetting my religious principles, naughty naughty your going to a very hot and bad place
weekend, even I'll blame the heat melting my brain for any typos or brain farts I might have ;)
yuck! i bet kitty. that sounds illegally uncomfortable!
heat really does have an affect on my thinking skills, ive noticed
it is, this heat is melting away all of my concentration too, so it's not like I'd get any work done any ways
the summer heat just forces us to chill out and veg
in australia we have 104-106 degree days
Very true! That and Babble all day :D
How hot is it in Finland Kity?
it's been topping off at just over 30 celsius, which for us is very hot
(that's about 90 F I think)
i think anything around 86f is just peachy
That is hot, especially without air conditioning.
i can imagine that's too hot in finland though
We actually went to see a movie (X-Men 3) yesterday because the cinema has AC! :D
the movie was bad but the aricon in the theater was brilliant
we always do that around here too kitty, especially on the weekends when we dont have offices to hide in
Presumably the ice-cream was in great demand as well?
that sounds so good right now.....
I've been having ice cream for breakfast, just because I can :D
mmm ice cream whats your fav flav

any hints on the PA 7/40, PA 7/40, PA 8/55 -- all in a row in the middle of the pa's
those ones have eluded me as well arb
Found them, Froelica. frying ___ + eight in some other language
F I R E W O R K S
thanks! and good job!!
Well done ARB! :D
found them two
ARB i don't get the clue ? another hint
Thank you for the clues ARB, I got all the qu's now
pa 7/40 frying pan + 4th vowel + first name of revolutionary Gueverra. Change the last vowel for the 2nd pa 7/40. Plural it for the 8
pa7/40 frying***+where dart players stand
I have one Pa 8/55 which is the plural of Pa 7/40, but I can't find the other one. Anyone have a clue for the other Pa 8/55?
Euterpe, The other pa 8/55 is a plural of the pa 6/27
pa8/55 - relates to the pa6/27 before it. pa4/5 plus the start of dairy foodstuff
Or pa plus the twelth part of a foot in measurement
good clues, Haz
Thanks ARB.
Got it! Great clues Haz! Thanks!
Glad to help, Euterpe.
any clues for the da8?
da 8 petites
da 8 - delicate or da**** plural.
Thank you ARB, that was a good clue
I've been trying to make versions of that word all day, but for some reason that particular one didn't occur to me... I blame this blasted heat!
way to be kitty, blaming heat. its the perfect scapegoat, i say
It's really frustrating sometimes to find there is an obvious word in the OTHER direction than what you've been fixated on.
hi guys i'm back!
okay, 3 am is unhealthy. see you guys later! and happy hunting!
hi
bye Froelica
Good night Froelica!
and hello CLM27
toodles :)
hey guys would i be able to have some help with the two pa 8/55 words?
pa8/55 - to pa4/5 add more than one twelth part of a foot in measurement. For the second pa8/55, three letters of a cooking pot, then eight in Spanish pluralised.
thank you all great clues im just a bit slow on the uptake
thanks haz - that really helped!
but i have them now
Good Morning All
Morning Kallia
That's good. Good morning Kallia!
Morning Kallia!
How are you today Haz? and how is the grid ?
Hi Kitty, Euterpe
I'm quite well, Kallia, and the grid is okay as well. The volcano is back!
LOL
so I see
um 16 q's...do I know that many?
Most of the qu's are normal words
The qu's were actually easy compared to some of the words on here. Haha.
quinch
oh oh
but not a word so ok lol
could I have a clue for the first PA7/40 plz?
Pa + two vowels + half a dance
ty merk!
For the second one, change the last vowel to another one.
Okay, grid finished and no excuse not to get on with the housework and laundry. Have a good day, everyone.
bye Haz have a good day and CONGRATS
bye haz tc an have fun lol
merk half a dance???
thats the q's done
So is there a clue for the da 8? It's the only one I have left.
ti 5/12 anyone? ive tried not to ask for a clue for it but i just can't work it out
There's a Spanish dance that is three letters that then repeat. Only do the first three letters
there's a "ti" of idodine, but you do not need the last three letters
da 8 = delicate or da**** (Plural it.)
Merk da8 - little fragile things
ti 5/12 add the 2nd consonant ti the tu 4/4 after it
ti 5/12 add the 2nd consonant to the ti4/4 after it
Well, it's not delicate ... there's no l.
It's the plural of another word for delicate, fragile, etc.
"Her hands were small and da****."
Ah, thank you, I got it. Now I can type in my words and hope I found the right ones.
sorry ARB - i don't understand the clue, could you try a different clue
ti 5/12 a 3-letter word for a cheap kind of metal + 3rd letter of the alphabet + the first letter of the word
CLM, start with the T in the upper left corner
ahh... got it then, thanks ARB!
hello all
Any help on the th 5/12? I have the one that ends in the opposite of out.
opposite of those, perhaps
Hello al3
fish for me. Thanks!
S'okey Kateq. Took me a long time to see it too
Boker tov!
Hi Everyone!
Boker Or Melon -- not your usual time, I think. Hi LicketySplit
Why the bass, Melon?
there's a qu word I'm doing right now!
Hi Lickety Split, do dogs in Austrailia get heart worm medication? My pirvate survey
inge - yes - it's important
you are so roght ARB, it's %^&*((*&& 6:30 in the morning - have physical therapy @ 7. drinking double espresso w/hot milk. went to bed before the flip, so i just HAD to check in ;)
nice grid - i spy a word that describes my age!
Thanks Lickety. In England it is unknown...and in Germany
Everything OK -- physical therapy?
hi, Lickety.
I'm very surprized inge! Hi melon
I am assuming it is related to wild animal populations
any clue for my last 8? have 2p and a d
It is a nice grid -- didn't need a dictionary today.
qu Kalia
a clue for the ti5/12 plz?
just srthritic stuff -- a creaky neck. my PT is ISraeli - he is very good, esp observing body mechanics & making suggestions. i have fibromyalgia, so my bod's high maintenance. yes, it is a nice grid. now, i have to run. nice chatting - back in a bit.
There's starting to be some debate in the US about whether heartworm medication is necessary or not, and if so how often. I know that a lot of vets now are saying that the yearly innoculations for cats are not necessary and may even be harmful...a boon for vets finacially, but not needed by the cats after their first few years.
oops I have that one too ARB so its the other one :)
Kallia, sorry - I don't give clues - against my principles.
;-)
hi melon from another fibro sufferer.
Kalia an -- made things very old
right lickety :)
nm
thank you arb, just that second saw the 7 :)
I assume you have the 6 before it
hi, Eva - ain't we got fun! I really do have to get to the appt - maybe we'll chat later. ciao, all! (Viva Italia!)
Nevermind -- ignore my stupid comment
:)
Interesting Eva, I heard that heartworm is only prevalent in US southern states, Surely Mexican dogs are not getting the pills
Ah well - fireworks so lunch now. Back later
congrats spellit
Yay Spellit
Cheers all
right coffee break..back for last few later
Bye all those leaving. Hello all starting.

oops - I really am bad a clues - it's like something you wear around your neck - but drop a N in 3rd letter
ahhh, thank you arb and lickety. FIREWORKS!
Yay Jakes-Mum
Fireworks for me too! It was a nice grid today. :)
well done - 8 until i get fireworks, but it looks like hard work!
well done to all who have finished :)
Fireworks!
wtg merk
Interesting grid, I agree Kitty.
well done merk!
thnx
inge
sheda
fireworks for me bye
inge?
yes, shadow, I am here now
um did you find out about your heart worm answer?
Layne?
Well, I am merely curious. My dog gets monthly medication, My "German penpal never even heard of heartworm, and Haz"s vetenarian husband says there is no heartworm in England
can any one clue me for da5/12 - only 5 to go any slowing down!
CLM sorry dont have it yet
cheed
Don't have it yet either, CLM.
i'll just keep plugging away.
how about sh5/14 & 5/12?
Do you need both of the 5/12s?
Oops... i have three 5/12s
actually, there are three 5/12s
no, I have bed linen & shiny
CLM, my daughter is not very outgoing - she sh*** away frome verything...
sorry inge, getting the dog wormed once a month or what ever doses you have in usa is important as heart worm is real and its not a nice way for the dog to go, we lost our setter to it, rescue dog so we had no idea that she had it
thanks yobaby!!! 4 to go.
da5/12 anyone?
i've only just started-- I have da8 but that's it for ds
sorry inge that wasn't meant in a condisending manner just a bit of info
da5/12 Mr Quayle plus two vowels.
Thanks, Shadow, just wondering why the condition is unknown in Germany, the former DDR at that
Heartworm requires the presence of mosquitoes to act as an intermediary host. Presumably the right sort of mosquitoes don't exist in Europe.
thanks Haz. 1 left!! sh5/14 - trying to monkey type my way there!
haz how do u know if the animal has got this??
hmm maybe they don't have it there. I know that my parents in tasmania had to have a specail worming thing for there dog before they moved there as its a condition that they do it before moving, Aus is known for mozies in someparts,my parents old house had them big enough to eat you
You'll get it if you thank in the past.
Afternoon Haz.
think even.
marso you don't until sadly they get sick and thats not nice, our vet didnn't know until it was to late
thanks Haz
Hi Fmitch.
we have heart worm in Australia so most sensible dog owners use preventative medicine to protect their dogs.
Quick lunchtime break - you all done?
chags
sorry, going back to the little box now
Yes, I finished a while ago and just checking in the log to see what's happening with the other babblers.

last 4 of da5/12 are anagram of the 88key instrument
LOL Eva, swings and roundabouts dear : ) I'm sure the opportunity to pounce will come along pronto : D

jbj?
oh, jon bon? hehe
GREAT clue, Tiny ;)

...gah! Missed the damn volcano AGAIN! Jon Bon Jovi
"I've seen a million faces, and I've rocked them all." (JBJ)
Refresh for a moustache :)
cant go wrong with jbj
oh, did you guys see my pic for fave celeb body parts? it was beautiful!
funny, sprite!
hi - everyone seems to like this grid - it is unusually agreeable. a few words made me laugh.
heh, brilliant sprite!
Krista, I think he missed Eva : D
Hi all! Looks like a pleasant one today

Ha, Anj! Was that the concert you mentioned, Eva?
think i need some help in typing skills here?
feather -- says im not authorized to view the page
pe6 = beginning of foot part + picnic pest
krista -- it was my friends band. :)
That's still cool, though. Have I heard of them (I'm in MD, too)?
probably not, unless youre a regular at Seacrets in OC -- theyre called Big Bang Baby
Funny, I'm headed to OC tomorrow. I think I HAVE heard of them, unless I am just thinking of the SP song.
make that STP
heh, well, thats what theyre named after...hehe but they play out at seacrets about once a month, so if youre ever out there, you may have heard of them
I've seen some good reggae bands there.
ok, refresh, i put it back in my icon
I remember that now, feather. Nice.
Big Bang Baby?? ...irony in action X D
sigh, yumm!
yeah, yeah, yeah...you shush up there anj! hehe
You clever Brits.
: D
Have you noticed the grid won't take the British version of our word for poop, Anj?
got all the ch's :)
Arse is always accepted, though.
I have a poop word that is valid.
melon, clue for the first ch?
Krista, considering what Enable does allow that's a little mystifying...
never mind, ovf course i have it now
hi everyone! : )
diet
Yes, there's one there today, Sprite....Yes, Anj. I am always mystified at Enable
Hey Temple Owl :)
You T-Owl - way to go girl! : D
hi temple,nice start there
yup, that's a valid one, TO ;)
hi TO .... sigh, have to leave and 2 to go, later folks
More, Temple Owl, more!
later muse
a word that is much on my mind after the weekend's indulgences! LOL!
why isn't heehee a word?
ok, anyone who is interested in seeing my freshly painted walls, look at the link in my profile.
...neither is sheesh. Sheesh!
Nor hehe, melon.
always confuses me that "haha" is acceptable but "hehe" isnt
or hehe
yeah, go figure....and heehee + p[lural are here
halfway! must run errands - back in a bit.
That's because haha is also a fence or something, and not just a laughing sound.
I'm "working" from home today. It's just too hard, what with Babble, two kids, hubby right here...cool, Feather, I'll have a look...
but ocnisder he4/6...
'sheesh' should be valid. Stupid enable.
'ocnisder' is a very interesting wored!
*word
especially if pfui is allowed. once again, SHEESH!
...haha is a nasty surprise to those that find them. Usually a dirty great hole behind a fence to catch prowlers...
lol sprite! my mind is the only thinga bout me that still moves quickly - too quickly for fingers!
nice color on those walls
how many a words in the grid?
133 words, preethi
thanks! looks much better IRL, but i got close with the pic
er
I love 'ocnisder', Temple Owl :D Let's make it a valid one :)
Read that wrong! A words? *counts* 10? I think.
: P
beautiful color feather
a words?
ty dorens
ok
i have 6 of them
Yups, 8xA from the left and 2xA from the right.
I can see why you were so busy, feather..what a lot of work that must have been. But it was worth it - looks great
ty krista. yes, it was a lot of work, but like you said, very worth it!
Touchdown! Fireworks!
ok, here are the 2 that are totally escaping me today -- the one from the lower S and the one from the E just down + to the left of that one...
congrats jai!
good morning everyone
eva, the s is n se4/6 - short for what you get in an orange?
hi annie!
Yay Jaia! Hi Annie!
Hi, annie!
feather, have you finished painting??
congrats, jaia
Hi Annie
yep! look in my profile for pics
...the e is an es4/4, an comes between Rs and Ts : )
hrmmm....the only word i can think of for the clus i already have and its an SE4/5 from the upper S
*GRRR!* i thought of that E-word, but i thought the first S hass to be doubled!
Se4/6: S + what birds lay (plural, but drop one letter)
se4/5? plants grow from these...
I would think the same, Eva.
That Se4/5 comes from the S above, Anj.
i got it from sprites clue, thanks!
took me a minute to get Anj's clue for the s, too, evan - 1/4s, 1/8s...
chid
SORRY!
my phantom this a.m.: taint
taint there
ahh, like portions...i get that clue now...hehe
...thought I was lsipping for a mo there...
You? Never ;)
...my typing certainly is! : /
slipping into my arms, right anj?? ;)
Cute, Sam!
...woot! Fireworks, and I haven't typed one word in the log today : D : D : D
no taint
wtg Anj
Should the rest of us leave the room? ;)
more phantom words: piano, patio
lol Sami, get those hormones under control! You can still taste the toothpaste... : )
i apologize in advance for any teethmarks that may be left behind. ;)
wtg anj!
Yay Anj!
feather, tried to open the site and was unsuccessful----not too good at this
Cheers folks! : ) Anyone need a clue before I scuttle off to the shops??
awww, youre not leaving me, are you?!
congrats, anj
i just started....hope its not a monster
No clue, but could you bring me some yoghurt from the shops?
It's not bad, Annie.
Good morning everyone! On for my last week of morning babbling! :)
so how many qu words does the grid want today?
krista, who is that in your icon, darn, cant think of his name
LOLda8/45!
I thought it was kinda fun, Annie...
Wilford Brimley (and his moustache)(it should have a name of its own)
wilford brimley!
LOL Eva, I'm not going far ; ) Yoghurt?? Any particular sort?? Fruity stuff or active cultures??
16 qu words!!!!!!!!
what is today's theme?
oh yes, thanks evan
Yep!
He really irks me.
Lip rugs I think T-Owl...
notanymore...he's dead
Lip rugs I think T-Owl...
gonna come back later, anj? ;)
16, huh? must go make up 5 qu words...
Fireworks here too. I guess Anj doesn't want to bring me some yoghurt from the shops, so I better go get some myself...
yay, sprite!!!
yay for sprite!
Eva, might be on again later... Oooo Sprite! I asked you what sort... : )
Yay sprite!
Wilford died? He's still on all those Liberty commercials. Hmmm, didn't know that.
hey sprite, i'm just starting. see you tomorrow! :)
Yay, sprite! $%$%$%$$% for you!
Hey hurshy! Almost now :)
refresh for the hottest 'stache around!
my dad asked me the same thing last week...it's a look alike
i dont think hes dead...
Very nice, Jen!
He irks me posthumously (if I spelled that correctly)
Hi Hursh : ) Who's the eye candy???
ooooh must get a picture of johnny....
Ahhhh sorry Anj! Missed your message. Fruity will do, and thanks :)
dunno anj, just someone i found to compete with lola's nurse the other night.
let me google it..now I am curious
now that i'm in amsterdam it's sort of apropos
does she have a mustache?
I heard an unsettling rumor that 'staches were back in vogue in Hollywood....
no :)
...a-ha! Watch out for the coffee shops Hursh. They can mess with your perception ; )
ack
LOL anj!
i hate mustaches unaccompanied by beards
neither IMBD nor wikipedia list a date of death...
i made my own theme
then he had work....it is not him
i know anj. but as i don't drink coffee either, it's not likely to pose a problem
nut....dare i ask?
ditto, evanonut ... do tell
Ah, say hello to Amsterdam for me, hursh! I think it's my favorite city in the world (not that I've seen that many of them)
It's a darn good lookalike/soundalike. I can't find anything about his death, etiher. Oh well.
...HUrsh, the coffee isn't the problem, it's the other aromas that make things go surreal...
Great icon, ch1212!
GTG - BBL!
i know that anj. what i'm saying is, i wouldn't go in in the first place even if i thought they were really just serving coffee :)
thanks, Krista ... my dad looked so much like Wilfred Brimley that people often asked him. He sounded like him too.
Bye TO! See you later.
the coffee's pretty lousy anyway!
hello and goodbye, TO!
We'll have lunch tomorrow, hurshy, no hash :)
Lol Hursh, helps to keep it real : ) Right, gotta go walkabout. Laters folks : D
Bye TO, hi Une!
I would post pic of my hubby, but he would kill me...he has a fine moustache, and "scrubble" to go with it...
He could have had fun with that, ch!
bye to, hi une
morning, annie!
sounds good sprite. :) bye anj :)
Does your icon have a story, Une?
He did, Krista. He was a retired Marine, lived in Idaho cowboy country (he was also a cowboy), carried a gun, and was Mayor of a little Western town.
i need to update it re the theme--it's A. A. Milne with his son Christopher Robin
Hi,all, is the puzzle hard?
oh wow - I never saw a photo of milne..love it.
no
hi katrine, not too
Cool! Thanks, hurshy!
He sounds like a colorful character in his own right, ch!!
not bad, Katrine -- dive in
I will- but 16 qu's????

i have g told your horse to go right, for the other what are we talkin, gh, ge?
"The best way to eat a brace of co**** is in a stew" says Samwise in LOTR
no I am talking about the one that is the plural of co4/5...there is a co 4/5 which is like money....change the last two letters around...that will give you the second co 4/5...then make it plural.
There we go!
Now LotR I understand.
That did it hursh. Thx!
I was hoping that clue would help somebody....

thanks fmitch
Hi FMitch! Are you finished?
Hi Mitch! Just joining us or have you been lurking?
can't find se4/10! Any hints please? And yes, Britain does go on daylight saving time. Sometime in october, I think.
We don't call it the same thing Katrine but our clocks went forward at the end of March. They will go back an hour at the end of October for the Winter.
wesnurse
nites
Hi Aloy and amanda, was on early this morning but really onlust go back and have finished I am glad to say - didn't like todays grid.
fmitch -- what do you guys call it over there when you switch your clocks?
I meant se4/6. Sorry! Any hints?
hey, congrats to you! I kinda like this grid.. working on the last 3 words now..
Ty- he's driving back to Dallas, and we were chatting about Babble, and got to wondering what time it is in Britain and Australia, and whether it is already Tuesday in Australia....Is it?
thanks Samy
you scared me there, Hydra - couldn't figure out how there could possibly be an se4/10! The se4/6 is short for pieces, portions
Oh btw Im back
katrine -- i dunno if australia is all in one time zone, but i know its 12:45 pm, monday night in adelaide! (i have a friend living there)
your welcome u no that was a mistake right
yeah
We are on British Summer time now until the clocks change in October.
I'm enjoying the grid too, Aloy. What didn't you like about it Mitch?
is it a common word, amanacath? I just can't see it at all!
so it's 12:45 A.m. in Australia, which would be Tuesday, right?
I just found it hard wor today but I guess thats cos I didnt really have much time to devote to it - very busy Monday workwise.
Got it! I was working off the wrong s. Thanks.
oh yeah...hehe...*days change at midnight, not 1:00 EvaNadine!*
Hydra, it's not one I'd use every day - mathemeticians might..
Ty, evandine!!!
well, FMitch, that explains it! Work has a way of interfering with Babble sometimes..(-:
Boo work!
Evanadine, that is!
LOL doesn't it just Aloy ;)
yeah, i know i always wanna chat with him in the afternoon, but its the middle of the night for him! hehe

Hooray for Hurshy!!!!
19 words left to go, but my brain is kinda mushy!
oh my, this much hooraying is not necessary for an old fogey like me - save it for the newbies :)
not that i don't appreciate the sentiment.

Thanks unea....:)
ok i have 5 q5/16 and none of them works with an e in front...
only works in the plural, TO
use the qu5 that means "very"
ty une! : )
i hate it when that happens...
weird, eh?
Which ch am I missing, guys?
never mind - the magic "ask and you will recieve"
Possibly the 6/24?

you know you can click on Lickety's link, right?
HAve you tried the 2nd letter lists katican?
Alright, someone tell me what the hairy fish is, then pass it on over...

oh, yes - I did have that one already. I knew it was a babblet, just didn't know which one...
That one along with the volcano, the cheese, the voice that comes back and a few others I automatically enter at the start of every grid :)
so true, fmitch! LOL!
*hangs hed in shame that the volcano is not in my list*

Hi, sheb, very do-able puzzle!
Hi sherb
Welcome, sherb......
Hi Sherb! It's a nice one today, I think
The root word of the 8 rhymes with Ain't
Afternoon sherb!

And I agree, it is do-able today, I've got down to 37 words WITHOUT resorting to using Lickety's list......
et4/6 anyone?
Yw!
the da 8 is another word for women's underwear...now i am off *poof*
Bye TO
oh my gosh, now that you mention it, i'm down to 47 without lickety! didn't even realize taht
oh my gosh, now that you mention it, i'm down to 47 without lickety! didn't even realize taht

Thanks featherbee i must be having computer problems again!!(or my eyes have gone worse)
hi all..back from making meat-a-balls and half-heartedly working from home...hope to have "fresh eyes" now!
what the digadeedoo is the DE/7 please x
Hi Krista
whoa, caitlyn, now THAT's a 'stache!
just got home, feather the pics are wonderful! I just love how you brought the color of the dining room into the living room along that wall -- it helps make the fireplace feel more "centered" WELL DONE!
Caitlyn, you might be able to go to your control panel and increse the size of your print...maybe something e=went wrong there...
hey krista
increase..I do know how to spell! LOL
how are his teeth (any pain), Stid?
I will try that Katrine thanks
M3 - take the color off for the de7
hi gang ... i have a few minutes here... m3 - de 7 = de + pa5/12
caitly what browser do you use?
the orthodontist fixed the "chains" (really rubber bands) so they can't fall off the pins again. This way, he doesn't have to go back for a month!
thanks, all done now x
thanks stid! that was the plan! and i alternated curtain colors too...tan in dining room, green in living room
so thanks Krista, he says he is feeling fine.
was that stidmatt that had to go?
Is this stidmatt we're talking about?
I don't think braces are the painful experience they once were, or at least I hope!! That's good.
caitly if you hold down CTRL and scrool your mouse the text size will addjust x
you are so talented feather -- something I noticed was the arrangement of the photos above the sofa : how the center one is put on tall... nice subtle touch!
M3 was that question for me? If so i havnt got a clue I dont know any thing about computers!!
thanks again. those photos are actually ones i took in a photography course in college. one of my hobbies i like to dabble in.
Your browser should be "internet explorer" or "Mozilla Firefox"- for this game, it needs to be Mozilla....
M3 just going off to try that back soon
Fireworks for me! And nearly list-less too!
the long couch under the window? that's where i'm parked right now! and will be stretching out for a nap soon too, most likely.
Woohoo amanda!!!!
yes, stidmatt -- he's a good kid overall - had to wake up early today and go without breakfast (had a blood draw on that side of town anyway) in addition to the trip to the orthodontist.
YAY, Amandacath! $%$%$%$%$ for you!
YAY amanda!
your living room just looks comfortable! and I admit to being envious of your china hutch in the dining room as well. I love crystal!
aww, poor stidmatt. tell him we were thinking of him!
Tell stidmatt "ow" and I hope the stick wsn't too bad!
Feather, you and I are thinking along the same tracks...
that hutch was a bi*** to clean! still has streaks... much of the crystal is either gifts from my dad and stepmom or hand me downs from my grandmother. i think i bought maybe 4 things in there at the most.
wah! gotta go already... hopefully i'll make it back before day's end. have fun all!
he knows, thanks. Unfortunately he is suspended from computer games and all at the moment... but he will be back on this afternoon if he continues to get along with his brother..
Bye, Goob!
that's the best way to acquire stuff like that feather -- then each piecce has a history.
OK - this is weird - my husband is playing as well - but at home. I'm at work. This could get very confusing.
bye goob!
later goob1
matty, on the same account name?
matty -- is he playing from your login too?
ok, everyone stop reading my mind! lol
That is our "currency" here, too, stid, and i have recently implemented a money jar for name-calling!
Yep.
ROFL!
Hi Mr Matty
*puts on tin foil hat*
No I cant do it!!!!!!! there are so many things on panel i dont know which oneto click on!!
ooh -- the money jar! When anyone in the family "cusses" we have them contribute to the "trip jar" a glass carboy we bought at a garage sale. When it's full, we'll take a vacation!
Yep, but he won't chat, in all likelyhood. So this is still me!
ti5 pls, thanks.
feather -- there is an attractive headband in the babble store that does the same function... ;-) I will go get mine now!
stid- But doesn't that eventually reward them?
okay matty (and hi mr. matty) -- we'll just keep talking about our usual stuff then! LOL
leigh -- eventually, but that is so far away that all they really notice is the immediate consequence of losing their pocket money.
ti5/12 - a color or tint. Usually ends in -ure.
caitlyn, try clicking on "view", and in that list there should be "text size" , click on increase.
chyna, ti5, to make an elixir
For some reason, it doesn't work that way, leigh..it's the short-term loss of the money that gets them.
Understood.
vpchat used a wooooord, vpchat used a woooord....
If it was me, though, I'd be cursing up a storm. =)
*scrolls back quickly*
Exactly, Stid. I had worried about that, though, Leigh.
ugh, sorry about that :-/
darn, had that one
looking for vpchat's word...
feather i know im dumb but where will i find view?
well, poodles! I already had that one! LOL
up at the top of your screen, in the gray menu bar that starts FILE EDIT VIEW GO
Found it!!!!!!!
yay!
LOL, leigh - "call your brother a brat...I need more money!"
view, text size, increase
I'm off! Have fun all!
bye amanda
qu6/8 sounds like an abbreviation for a Harry Potter game...
*giggle*
Caitlyn, try acessibilty options and then display
Oh, you got it!
bye amanda!
Bye Amanda - see you soon
and featherbee is right, not me
the grid will not accept the words 'later amanda' ... :)
LOL sherb!
lmao sherb!
Hello Gang
LOL sherb!
so stid, how far are you on the list?
se 5/10?
TY TY TY I have done it........drinks all round!!
I have 59 words so far, haven't gone to the list, only a few hints from the chat have made it into my awareness...
woo-hoo caitlyn!
se+ 2,000 lbs.
awesome caitlyn
Mother Anne slips into the grid again, eh? funny how that blessed lady gets around!
i'm down to 38 left, sans list, and occasional glances at chat clues
Woohoo caitlyn
thanks katrine925!
Yay, Caitlyn! $%$%$%$%$% for you!
That was really technical for me!!!
YW, VP!
i'm thinking of not going for lickety until after dinner/bedtime for daniel, then i'll see if there are any racers around then.
go feather go!
I am still stuck on qu 7/40 and the de 7/36....any ideas for me? I didn't ever figure out the de + color clue. Thanks.
Hello Babblers :)

hi ladynoire!
oops, i meant feather!
Need the other top right corner 'a' apart from the "time" one......cluez plz......
*POOF*
Bye Katrine and thanks again
Thanks. Any soccer experts out there? I have a question: what happens if in the penalty kick phase both teams kick five goals, or the score stays tied?
*giggle* I wondered where I was going, Stephie!
Later Katrine
yw!
No I don't!!!!!!!
movie, add a double vowel to the end
movieman -- it's a strange word. there's perihelion and apo***...
inge - they keep going until one team fails to score.....
I believe then it goes to "sudden death" inge?
I want to know why "heehee" isn't a word LOL
inge - sudden death... they carry on until one fails to score
qu7 anyone?
Hey, you are displaying my letter, MM!
thanks movieman and stid
and sherb
hi jaianniah! how are you doing? lovely flower you have there!
jee, its the plural of the one above it
Jaianniah - it's also my 1st initial........
looks like a coreopsis of some sort... or a cosmos...
qu7 plural of qu6
qu7 = qu6/27 + plural
aha! thanks caitlyn and chyna, that was 2 words in one for me!
Ty, ty! I was here earlier, but had the same trouble I had before, so had to leave, stidmama!
YW and hi stid i missed you coming in
yw stid..
:)
what a bummer, jai -- well glad you're here now!
Which qu6/27 is the qu7 the plural of?
any clues for the qu6/27
Ah, I think my problem, is that I am missing that qu6 also....I got mixed up in my list....Can you please clue me for the qu6 before the qu7 please?
Ty, lovely puzzle, I had a LOT of fun with all those "qu's"
Jee - pl of the qu6/27
hi caitlyn -- you were so busy trying to so something with your browser... I didn't want to intrude.
Snap
qu6/27 = qu5/16 + 2nd vowel
QU words are fun, but a little hard for me.
thanks! got it
Gotta go, teatime......bbl.....
Gotta go, teatime......bbl.....
i'm missing one q word and am feeling qu5/16 tortured by it
btw, I want to brag a little -- last night stidgrant picked up his fiddle and -by ear- was playing some of the Lord of the Rings music... *proud mama look*
Bye, MM
Bye movieman
later moveiman!
I could make one of my "lists"....
which qu5, abe?
wow stid you deserve to brag!!
that's so awesome stidmama!
oh -- I would like that, jai, as I need 6 more Q words...
I'm impressed by anyone who can get a decent sound out of a stringed instrument! It seems hard.
i have three q 5/16
Stid, I play violin! That is so cool that he can do that- it's not easy on violin!
Is that Mr. Weed, Abe?
there are 5 of them,
Or Tom Tucker maybe?
seems hard to me, too, but anything other than my voice seems hard to me... though I can get a sound out of anything, I don't have the patience to practice!
abe there are 5
Tom Tucker, Krista. the episode last night was all about his mustache too!
Ok, list coming....
ooh, thanks Caitlyn
Okay, finally got the qu 5, 6, 7...thanks for all of the help.
I need a clue for the last qu 5,16
Missed that one..timely episode, huh. That show is so witty and funny.
My husband is wearing his Evil Monkey shirt right now.
I love it too. Last night, he got fired from his job and he had to give back the mustache. Ha! my fiance has the evil monkey as his AIM icon
I feel so uniformed on TV shows...
I want "piquant" to be a word!
Blonde, almost like the qu (shhhh word), change the vowels around.
I'm still trying to figure that qu6 and qu7 - extensions of a qu5 - not getting it, any help?
It's Family Guy, Stid. It's hard for us to watch because the kids always want to see it - NOT for young kids! Dang, sorry I missed that one abe.
oh -- never saw that one. maybe when the kids are at camp (if I can remember)
45 left, and it's time to eat... later all :)
Flosey, think of 5.....like qu+++uplets.
later sherb!
i got the last q...but thanks in advance for the list Jai. Family Guy is a hoot, Stidmama.
start with the qu4/7 - the mighty Qu**, then add a letter for the 5/16, add a vowel to the end of the 5 and then pl for the 7
whoa! somewhere I passed halfway way back. Now just 58 words to go...
oh, and i am also available for Q clues now
qu list 1. 4/8 one of four babies, for short 2. pronounced like "key" qu+ two vowels 3. Add end of picnic pest to previous qu 4. Now drop the "eye" 5. Royal woman 6. pl. royal women 7. qu+ abb for identification 8. shhhhhh! 9. qu+ abb for "inch" 10. short for one of five babies 11. add second vowel to that 12. plural it 13. stop! 14. sounds like abb. for Harry Potter game 15. plural that 16. anagram 5/16. There you go for the qu's!
but is that the word that the qu6 and qu7 are built on Jee?
Go stid Go
Flosey, yes it is....
ok jaianniah - am stuck - know nothing about HP
thanks Jai *disappears to get her Q words*
Off to feed son, who wants ice cream for lunch. Sigh.
great list Jai
jai thats a great list
Ok- ryhmes with "witch"
qu + something you keep scratching at
"It's the wrong thing to do," to misquote Wilford Brimley.
Bye Krista
Could someone help with the da 5/12?
Bye Krista
Ty all!
later K!
Bye Krista
da 5/12 - russell crowe's wife with the round vowel at the end
BBL :)
I do have that one Jai, that's the qu8, I need the qu6/27 and qu7/40
or to put it another way, sounds like a boy's name with the round vowel at the end
Hmm. *must find out who his wife is*
hey there Ch1212, when did you sneak in?
Hi Ch1212!
Oh I've been lurking about in and out this morning -- just finished. Hi all! Clues before I go?
Hi ch1212
Maybe I missed those- add an e to the abb for one of five babies- then plural it....Sorry! Not perfect, here!
Thank you ch
it should be duly noted that this puzzle has more words that start with Q than any other letter- is that a babble first?
Help with the an+ words?
and that clears out all the Q words for me. As usual, jai, your clues were brilliant!
the an 7/8 combo is old furniture, old jewelery, etc
oh good clue !!
wow, i didn't notice that Bryan, but now i feel even more accomplished about finishing them!

Royal woman 6. pl. royal women 7. qu+ abb for identification 8. shhhhhh! 9. qu+ abb for "inch" 10. short for one of five babies 11. add second vowel to that 12. plural it 13. stop! 14. sounds like abb. for Harry Potter game 15. plural that 16. anagram 5/16. There you go for the qu's!

No v!

one co6/21 is a pl of rabbits, but you could think of it as a pl of the co4/5 before it. the other is a pl of the co5/12 French crayon or nobleman, which is the co5/12 before it
qu word rhymes with "witch"
qu rhymes with whaat you scratch
Annie, an old joke from music school

ty! that fixed it
tndaisy: think calamares
got the Q's! ty all:)

flosey - try something you cook in + the word for eight in Spanish + plural
For the first pa8/55, start with hurt, add the end of non-metric linear measurement for pa6, pl for pa8. The second pa8/55 starts with cooking pa-, add Spanish for "eight" but change the last vowel. Two diff last vowels give you two pa7's, one can be pl'ed for pa8.
Got both pa 8 now - anyone know what they mean?
1st pa 7/40??
eq 7.40, another pa 7.40,movieman

Flosey, it feels good when the green bar shows at the bottom, doesn't it! :)
Jilli, see 1:17 clues. They're in there.
to 4/4?? - i've got the one that means to carry
Cluez for the eq7 plz......

de7/36 - silly word, sounds like it means an artist taking color back off the canvas, although it really is a synonym for putting it on in the first place
Parsec - me too! A words rot.
well, crap, I already had that one - I think I need coffee
thanks of the pa7, vicuna -- how about the last pa5/12 (I'm sure I'll deserve a fish)
All vowel-starting words are hard to see, i think.
Also, I think antioche should be a word.
are we looking for a 7 or 8? Think place where you buy old stuff
Yep. What's the second letter of the a8?
an
2nd letter is an N
parsec - you're not a Monty Python fan by any chance....?

hi, im back again
hida
how is the visit going? I have missed seeing you...
just came on to say hello. i had all my icons picked out for the week already, didn't want them to go to waste.
shirin, try this -- take the an4/4 before it, and add Mr.**, the talking horse
doh - haven't done that in a while, sorry (and it wasn't even a word)
Hi fran!
Hi everybody
anteed
hi Mr. Tall
Hello Mr Tall
oops, sorry!
thanks jill!
Oooooooh
:-) he has a spectacular 'stache, Fran! are you enjoying your time? is the weather cooperating?
that's right, shirin! LOL!
shirin - LOL - been there done that
the weather is gorgeous. we just don't have enough hours to do everything we want to do!
hello Praes -- your icon is of the mustache of the future?
so glad to hear, Fran! the weather here is looking stormy, but have managed to get a bit done both inside and outside today, so won't mind when it breaks.
where are you, Fran?

oo, lovely, beachy I bet. Here every time I go to the beach it clouds over and a chilly breeze comes up. When I leave the clouds go away and the sun is warm. Annoying.
;-) I guessed that Praes, as you can see, I chose to sit out for today's theme.
thanks shirin!
my sister and brother in law are in Hawaii right now. In Kona, I think

Your priorities are all wrong, Praes. ;)
Hi Candyman. Can you?
i doubt it krist, i work 17 hours a day
but i got the joke
how many more, stid?
jillibus ...thank you so much...got those two now
Praes, when I have limited time I also ignore the icons... hadn't seen you for a while though! wondered if you were doing an "aging backwards" thing...

Oh, poor Krista, babbleless for 2 days!!!!
two whole days Krista? you can do it... I did it in April when we took the boys up skiing... (though I admit if there had been a connection...)
My turn to help if anyone needs it
so you have to find ALL the words?
only if you want to daybyday! the idea is eventually to get good enough that you can, but most of us need lots of help to do it!
I see...
day, you don't HAVE to, but we WANT to! Then we get fireworks, whee!
but my kids generally play just to see how many they can get in a set time, that way it's not too frustrating.
It takes a long time if your not very smart
Yes, jill and stid..I think I can do it, though there may be some fiending involved..,
It takes a long if you are very smart!
My ten year old plays once in a while, finds about 2 words then quits.
touche
let's face it -- some of these grids just take a long time {period. full stop.}
well, krista, bear up!
that's about the attention span of our younger son (11), I generally ask him to find ten words when he plays.
morning all, im back to finish it off
I'll find strength in the knowledge that most of you have gone before me in Babblelessness.
okay, need to lie down for a spell before I go pick up the kid from his friends' house. see you all later if I can get back online... good luck finishing! (sorry I missed you beaster, see you later maybe)
good idea, the goal of 10 words. I'll try that with her next time.
see you later, Stid
bye, stid. TAke care
bye, stid
so there's 5 8-letter words?

I'm going nuts looking for se 4/6 It's probably right in front of my face, but help please
well, he wants to see it, but I didnt know if it was appropriate or not. THanks for your input

off to the park -how will I ever get this puzzle done. I"m sure that's true, gwen. i didnt tell my 5 year old I was going yesterday; he wants to see it, too.
i finished two in a row ( short grids ) and now hit a brick wall.
mo, I have two he 4/6's: one that means to pay attention, one that is a plural of a kind of half-laugh.
oh i hate these stupid picnic ants+e between t and s
The best part of the movie was that I only had to pay $2 to get in, plus another $2.50 for popcorn and bottled water.
what about the he, the female chicken
ok, before I leave, mo - maybe the he4/6 is the weird one - he + fif** of November
wow, why is that gwen?
Layne...thank you very much...it was the half laugh i needed
Local movie house - Normally plays second-run movies for $2. Then started first-runs for $4. Then changed first-run to $2 before 6. Hard to beat those deals, even if you don't like the movie much.
jillibus, I needed that one . . . thanks!
sounds like a great place to catch flics.
ok, i give up, can I have a clue for the qu 8.65?
he 5/14 please?
Of course, no stadium seating, no clean-up between shows, etc. But, other than that, it's a great atmosphere. Kinda old-timey
gotta go take my son to karate. Have a great rest of the grid everyone.
jillibus thank you but i had that one already...i now have all the h'S
bye, shirin
gardengirl, if you have the weird he 4/6, it's the plural.

hi nrkii!
okay, I have 15 left to go... do I go to list or tough it out for a while
start
ooh, dorens, she's so sweet :)
If you have the All in One Sidebar extension, you can load Lickety's Babble Clues into the sidebar and have Babble and Lickety's open side-by-side so that working with the Clues is easier and faster.
you've been doing babble-soap-opera-update rather than hints last several mins, so not helping me (darnit!)
ha ha ha, i love it - herdarkmistress - that is great!
nrkii, i have 32 left....almost double....wanna race??????? please?

feather, where do i go to find this extension?
hungry
oh never mind, just scrolled down and saw it...will look
did you go to angelsong's page? she has a link in there
and good directions for how to use it
If you don't have Firefox, you can shrink Lickety sideways and put it wherever you want, also making it easier to toggle back and forth with an alt-tab
ooooooo krista.....

right click on them, click on copy
helen - put it in Favorites or Bookmarks
copy & paste helenkeller & it will show up on the address history listing in the future
then in a new address bar, or even this one, erase what is in the address line, and then right click and choose paste. then enter.

hi all, was just passing through and finished earlier.. . what is the game site you are discussing? It sounds like my kind of site!
11 left
hi stid
go cat go
stid, it's theproblemsite.com
Et4/5 - think of abbrev. for what we use to make gas
I play the problem site games every morning, before I babble
the games there take me a total of 30 - 45 minutes for 7 different games
what's that, nrk?
thanks nrkii! I will go check it out!
see my instructions to Feather below though, it's the games behind the "Quote Puzzler" link that are the best
Hi stidmama! How are you? Krista got me hooked on Scrabble Blast the other night. I play while I Babble!
Ping, they are word games -- In and Out is like hangman, but you have to first choose a letter IN the phrase, then choose one OUT of the phrase, etc, and you lose points with each wrong guess...
Secret Word is a word where no letter is repeated, and you try to guess it with as few rounds as possible
...
Does anybody have a clue for the di 512 word please?
th5/12 pls?
nrkii -- do you have a referral code?
the first th5/12 that is
Cross Phrase is like a crossword -- two words with one letter in common
stid, I do... hang on will get it...
sounds like end of a story cat
stid, it is MU0F42
okay, just a sec...
um kind of like a yogurt in aus mine
but it only helps me if you end up a paying subscriber, which you should NOT feel obligated to do
i got 1030 on in and out, i guessed wrong too early!
its a fish min
I ended up paying because I like the Quote Puzzler and Triplet Scramble, and it's not too much $...
plural of DI 4/5 Minveryork
clue for eq5 please?
feather, 1030 is good for your first time though! you lose more points for a wrong guess on that one than for asking for a couple more letters
it's okay -- we'll see how it goes. eq 5 is e +qu 4/8
EQ + another name for octopus minus the S Mary
the 1st th5/12?
Now you can throw me that fish for asking for that!
ty ronnietee, thought I had tried that
oh, and feather, my rank on in and out today was 13, so I don't think I got much more than 1030 myself
TH* + not out Cat
th 5/12 ends with opposite of OUT
I hope not everybody leaves to play different games!
thrown it caught in min
feather and stid, word builder and top letters are the ones that I think you'd enjoy most
i swear i tried that 100 times!!! ty ty down to 9 now
i'm trying to figure out secret word's rules
I still need a lot more clues please! I have 106 words!
okay, I am subscribed and on... back in a few to help clue (just curious, Min, not leaving entirely)
clues for se 4/5 and 5/10, only 4 left
and word builder is not timed (only one of the bunch that isn't timed)
Hello everyone, i'm on my last word...any help for the second se4?

feather, there is another SECRET WORD on the front page too (before you click on the quote puzzler link) -- it's a different word, so you can play twice :)
nrkii, you had the highest score on that yesterday!
the PA 8/55 you want is PA + unit of measurement + plural words
feather, I usually pick up 1st or 2nd place on one or two of the games each day -- been doing them for a few months now -- but as more competition comes in (like you), I think I'll start losing more
my mom had the high score today -- she kicked my butt
totally stuck on the h's from the 2nd last row...i still need all 5!!! pls help?

music mistress will do :)- you got kids cause that seemed like a mum clue
the trick on word builder (and top letters) is that you don't know how other people have scored until AFTER you submit your answers -- so you have no guage for how well you're going to do other than your own sense of what's possible
what's tomorrow's theme? i should really change my icon
maybe i'll put one of buster (my dog) AFTER his haircut rather than follow the theme.
