I wasn't grumbling yesterday -- for those who missed it, check out the archives at about 2:00 pm July 25 for a phenomenon -- stidmama's storytelling
mymus - for the official record, i was not grumbling yesterday - i was quite pleased to have a tenny tiny grid for a change

Is it appropriate to say shalom alecheim (sp?) ?
erin, your icon looks like my kittiy!
We are all OK. My daughter is busy being spokesperson for the Foreign Office, so she's been on a lot of TV lately.
Jillibus, absolutely appropriate. And the answer is Aleichem sholem
ty from a shiksa, ARB!
melon, that's my Lucy! she's sweet, but kind of a loudmouth at might! :)
ARB you must be so proud of her. Of all things, I was hoping to visit Haifa within the next year and a half - i still plan to.
oreo is a word and a food group- i don't know what is going on :)
Melon, we will plan to rendezvous

yes, even people who are supposedly used to the heat are complaining...
hello everyone!
Not me -- I love the heat
Jill, I did not include the comments, but told people where they could start reading in the archives if they want the original version. I tweaked some spelling and grammar errors -- though not all of them, by far.

Babble is always a learning experience some yuckier than others :)
nyet on viet...as a dictionary word that is
don't mind the yuckiness-just that I can't figure itout. Have a vague memory of a kind of bacteria that sounds like the wi purple vine, and I think that's probably what this is, but can't get the spelling down. Is the es5/10 the chemical one?

une--- your clue is a 6/18 word...not 6/21. Is there a te 6/21?
te6/21 is the word that's been discussed a lot in the last 10 minutes or so!
kkiln -- the clue i just posted is for the TE6/21
Evandine --- looking at it...
the te6/21 is the sheep word (that'll confuse any newcomers!)
it's the one that sounds like 10 female sheep

and now for a bedtime story....
Night Tiny
Before I go has anyone heard from our Israeli players
Rolin - Refresh and you will see Faerie Kae
tiny, ARB was here 2 days ago and she was fine
ARB was on at the flip. She says her family is doing okay. Apparently her daughter is a spokesperson for the government, so has been on TV a bit recently. I didn't see anyone else
nothing since
morning all - Stidmama, do you ever sleep?!?!
i wasnt here last night, glad to hear she is okay, stid
Ok I will keep praying for her
hi fiz
Night
I think its the lebaneese players you should be worried about
lets pray for peace
of course, Fiz! I slept nearly seven hours last night, but usually I sleep ten. I will take a nap later.
Amen to that RAED
A first for me yesterday, finished without a list! i was so excited, short grid worked. Today no list because I know I wont finish. Just going to have fun with it.
Good point, RAED - I think/hope we can all support more peace in this world!
Actually, RAED -- we are worried about everyone over there -- but there have not been any people with Lebanese flags (or saying they are from there) yet.
good for you Annie! good work yesterday, and excellent decision today...
well, gotta go for a bit. the dog just put his ball under the sofa...
I dont think its the Lebanese people you have to worry about in this episode, its Hezbollah.
Looks like this grid has enough words for yesterday and today! I'm going with annie - get as far as I can...
Stid what kind of candy is that you have?
too late :(
faeriekae, would you sprinkle some of that faerie dust on me for this grid today?
*sprinkle* *sprinkle* *sprinle*
*with a smile on my face*

hey again
'lo Feather
106 down, 173 to go
hummmm yes to a certain degree. My hair is a bit longer and I'm a bit thinner but other that that to a tee
Hmm, a bigger one today.
Hi Feather and Persec
rolin - the 1st time I saw it I was only 8 and watched local amdram version - loved it ever since
you know..im sitting here in this cafe...and just listening to europe come and go ...there has been ppl from germany ..france..holland..
sounds wonderful rolin...i love people watching
mitch..i saw a pro performance of it in melbourne years ago.. lady bracknell was played by a grand dame of aus theatre...and she was sensational..its a part id like to play...in about 20 years..lol
me too feather... its one of the great things about living over here
i'm back. the candy is "abba zabba" -- not necessarily my very favorite, but certainly indicative of it -- a vanilla taffy bar filled with peanut butter.... mmmmmmmm
Morn mama
hello leigh -- doing okay?
ya know...peanut butter is something i never got into...praps it was cos i worked at a bulk foods shop as a kid..and had to serve it out of vats...
gee leigh - don't know about you - but I sure could go for a story....
well, as a young child, we lived next to a peanut farm in South Carolina. I used to pull the plants out of the ground to get to the raw peanuts.
Well enough, I suppose. My mother just called, very upset, and asked me to go down to the body shop where they are keeping my sister's car and to dispose of it because the insurance company does not want to look at it. I don't know if she was upset about that, or something else....but being 600 miles away, it's a bit difficult to stay in the loop!
*mouth waters at thought of anything peanut-related - vats included*
Oh Fiz! I don't have the time to give the story justice right now. I promise to come on later and do it, though1
I'm kidding - I don't have time to give the story its due attention, either - just a few minutes to get a start on the list!
oh leigh -- I am so sorry. didn't realize your sister had been in an accident. Hope she is okay at least.
Fiz- You're more than welcome to listen to the story when mama is willing to tell it. I have to go shower and get myself together and go take care of this silly car business.
Leigh, that sound awful - is your sister ok?
hmmm...dunno fiz...when ya bending in from the waist over this huge tub of peanut butter.,,,scooping it into a jar....tended to lose its appeal for me..lol
hi stid!
oh no leigh
*mouth still watering*
hi feather! *tosses some spanish peanuts at Fiz*
lol..youre a hopeless case then fiz...
funster should be a word
i'm in and out...laptop on the couch cushions, i'm helping daniel with puzzles
Oh yes. This was a few weeks ago. My brother and dog were in the car with her. All were shaken, but okay. It was all her fault and she was careless. My relationship with my sister is.....strained, at best, and this was the proverbial nail in the coffin with that. Take your life into your own hands, but involve my dog, and more importantly, my brother, and I've nearly a mind to beat the bloody pulp out of her.
how old is she leigh?
*mouth full of sticky peanut* my sifter ish a terrible driver but has somehow avoided serioush accidents thus far...knock wood!
I am so sorry about that leigh. Still, "shaken but okay" is the important part.
feather...creating a new babbler?
what's today's theme? retro candy?
19. Yes, they were all very lucky. I should take pictures of my brother's clothes he was wearing that day. He was the one that suffered the impact. The glass from the window shattered all over him. My mother washed his clothes and they came out looking like swiss cheese gone extra swiss.
Leigh I'm really sorry. That's not the kind of thing anyone wants to go through, and it certainly doesn't sound like it's helped family tensions at all....
rolin, i think daniel has been giving feather clues
lol annie! yes, esquian - childhood candy, actually...
lol...hey...with 279...i wouldnt mind if he gave ME some clues..
{{{leigh}}} that's the scary thing -- when you realize how very close things came to being worse...
Heh. I believe it has brought my mother and I closer and for that, I am happy. My sister is not the sharpest tool in the shed. *giggle*
leigh, i am glad that everyone is okay....what a stressful time for everyone
*pout* I want a helper, too! *stomps foot*
bbl
Thank you all for the concern.
Bye Liz
later liz!
Mama, I'll be your helper!
Hooray for a 9!
bye liz! stid - what about stidmatt? and - hey - what about the rest of us?
:-) okay leigh, but first you have to take a shower, and I need to do something with the five pounds of blueberies (almost 6) that Tom and I picked yesterday...
go leigh go!
omg there are 3x 10's
Ooooo...Send them to me! =)
no, me!!
stid, my favorite pie, hint, hint
go leigh - we'll be thinking of you *mouth waters as fiz thinks of blueberries in the fridge* brb
Une- It's six pounds, I think she may be able to split the pot. =P
my my! aren't we the blueberry-faced gang here! *holds out bowl of blueberries* don't eat too many, or you'll poop purple...
sounds simply fabulous!
Thanks, guys. =) Maybe I'll bring my puppy with me for a big walk. Though the sight of that car may not be so welcoming.
Actually, Annie, we bought 6 disposable aluminum pie pans yesterday so we can make and freeze pies for the winter months... :-)
stid- You are what you eat! *visions of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory* I'm Violet Beauregaurd... *snickers and wanders off*
ok...i havejoined the icon theme
homemade blueberry pie in January with snow on the ground, sounds dreamy, go stid

I'll tell you...."failure to digest food before eliminating it" Bleech!
ooooh, could have gone without the mental picture for that one
well, I am glad to see all the sea birds are back in the grid
or, was that too obvious as a subject change?
or, lol, a complete conversation killer?
I started work at 6.00am so this is my first chance to Babble. I wish I hadn't started - more than half a brain cell would be an advantage!!
I keep wanting to type in moist!!!!
and storm!
I'm having trouble too, JFB. Too much work distracting me from proper monkeying.
If it wasn't for the money........!
Boo for hiccups....
Yes JFB abd Parsec....its a hard one today......but we do have a slight disadvantage ......in that it is based on an American dictionary!
ha flask, not any american dictionary I've ever seen!!
I waste a lot of time putting words in that ARE words...but not according to enable!
A *bad* American dictionary. =)
Flask- There are a number of french words in today's grid.
Dorens....Enable is American!
yes I have seen them too......
I believe Dorens means that there are some words that even most american dictionaries do not carry.
yes, flask, so they say. but I've never seen it....and I work in a school....
rotl being one of them, I'm sure...
Well considering the guy that built the site is American it's not such a surprise I guess:)
thanks leigh, that is for sure!
Okay Dorens....I beg you're pardon....my mistake!
I'm finished YEAH!!!!!!

I have a flake bar sitting in the refridgerator right now...waiting...it's been there since my grandparents went to Ireland a few months ago. I don't want to eat it!
what is the icon theme today - I am sick to death of Bozo!
If I get half the words today, it'll be enough.
Candy!!! Favourite childhood candy
ohhhhh
i got 4 flakes i luv them.
LOL - I hope I can find some! off to sleuth that out!
Oh Leigh....thats soooo sad....lolol
There's a picture on google of two of my favourite candies together, but it is of chocolate Aero bars and not mint. Blasphemy1
*kicks shift key*
any clues for the en7 word please?
en7, when combined with cordiale, makes for an agreement
Hi Haz!
Good morning leigh - are you well?
Oooo.....Fruit Pastilles picture...too bad they don't have that with Flake bars...
Haz- Fairly well! Trying to enjoy my mini-vacation, but it's been difficult! =)
Hi Haz....its a hard one today!
I've just realised that Spangle the dog can also serve as an icon for candy (we had Spangle sweets many moons ago)
How are you today, Haz?
How long does a mini-vacation last - are you trying to get too much fitted in to a short space of time?
I'm fine - I've been quite busy over the past few days but am relishing the chance to get this grid done!
Is she a cocoa spangle?
sele
A week, but I'm home while the rest of the family is away. So it's a vacation from them! Hehe. There's too much time and not enough to do.
=p
Afternoon everyone.:-)
She's a Welsh Springer spaniel, torgone.
All this candy talk is making me want to eat my Flake bar....
Good afternoon Jacula!
Hi again, Jac
I wish they'd bring the Aztec bar back!
I know - it was good. And they've wrecked Milky Ways.
Okay - my new icon features a favorite candy frommy childhood - not necessarilymy very favorite - but this photo was fun and featured them so...
Gosh, I haven't had a Milky Way in a few years! I used to love those, too
good afternoon.. how many words are there today?
Ack! What did they do to Milky ways?!?
Cad- Candy lips?
...and Walnut Whips, Wagonwheels and Mars bars have got smaller.:-(
279, CmLa
thanks parsec
They have completely changed the recipe. However, flyte bars are what Milky Ways used to be like.
Yes, wax candy lips! I about died laughing when i saw them in the store - we got outside and voile - my Mom had bought some - thephoto is of my daughter, my niece and myself enjoying our lips!
I need to eat lunch before I eat my icon....
"Milky Way. The treat you can eat between meals without ruining your appetite." LOL.
Your daughter looks exactly like you. Lips and al. =P
I can't eat a Milky Way without getting full..
"A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play."
:) We've been told that since she was very little. Thanks!
all* Damn keyboard.
"Have a break. Have a Kitkat!"
Quick break while I fetch my daughter from work.
Haz - Don't forget your Kitkat! LOL.
Morning all. I'm way from home and just popped in to chat, but all this talk about candy persuades me to beat a hasty retreat.see you later
BBL - gotta go write some reference letters
mmmm chocolate. i love babble
Hi Hetty!
Don't you like chocolate, Hetty?
hi hetty
Don't you like chocolate, Hetty?
Hi leigh! You'll notice the (almost) perfect typing this a.m because I'm on my daughter's computer and the keyboard is easier for clumsy fingers!
We shall all chip in and buy you a new keyboard, then! =) Hope you have a good time with your daughter
and Jac--I like chocolate way too much. Cadbury's has just begun marketing their answer to Rowntree's aero over here and I 'm addicted already
hi all- i'm looking for the 3rd 10. i have un and li
Hetty- WHERE?
chocolate is my middle name....jee chocolate whiz
LoL @ Jee!!!!
Oh, the 'Whisper' bar? I don't like that as much as Aero.
Abe, I am looking for your un10 and the other 10 too...
any help on the ELs? I am just not seeing them
I love Cadbury chocolate. *giggles @ icon*
abe its wi10/98
oggy, does the wi involve any of the other wi biggies?
thanks oggy. Jee Whiz- un 10 is when something happens that you didn't count on happening. un 10 circumstances
wi think cold season
leigh, "over here " is in Canada--I was addressing tht to Jac in England; there's a Canadian Cadbury out of the east somewhere tat is almost as good a s the British mother firm
Thanks Abe...wouldn't have gotten it without you.
aw, yw JeeWhiz. all of the 10s today are from the kindness of other babblers
I know you meant Canada, but I want it....
I want all of it too.
All this talk, I swear, I'm going to go to the Irish Shop in the next town over and just buy everything I can...Flake Bars, mint Aero bars, Buttons, and Fruit Pastilles...
What exactly are Flake Bars?
I don't live that far from Cadbury's in Bournville - the mother factory. In fact, I went to college right next to it. Smells delicious on Bournville Green.:-))
is the wi10 an extension of the wi6/30?
Folds of wonderful chocolate squished together to form a wonderfully flake-y bar...
Jac- I'd be the fattest person alive if I lived there. I'm very jealous.
Ymmmmmm.....I want one of those too....
yes, it is smaller...the most of it
Flake bars, JeeWhiz, are flakes of choccie all stuck together in a bar. They make a lovely mess when you eat them. We stick 'em in the tops of icecream cornets, too, and call 'em '99s'.
oh thank you featherbee!!! i was forgetting an "i" in the midst!!
Yes, and those are wonderful, too..
I bet I could order some of those online. I am so salivatious....:)
i only got it because of your question! we helped each other there
'Salivatious'. I like that word!
Jee- You will soon be addicted. But make sure you have something to drink with it, because it isn't exactly like a normal chocolate bar.
ok, i'm off to tackle the 20 other Rs..... *grimly plows in*
you made me hungry so im having a cadbury button dessert.
I made it up as you might have guessed.
It sounds a good word to me, JeeWhiz.:-)
has stidmama started the rest of the story yet?
I had a great aunto who lived with her family inthe village the marvellous Quaker Cadbury family built for yheir workers. She and her family all worked at the factory and brought home free "seconds" which I remember with great nostalgia
Not yet, Cathy
don't think so cathy, not sure
That sounds positively fantastic Hetty! Oh man...
re6/18 after leases an apt?
I love your icon, Cathy. Wish Wonka made actual chocolate bars, and not ones with crisps inside...
Hetty - It's still there (and no pubs in the village!) The 'seconds' are no longer free to workers, though they do get a discount.
feather, is it the one that birds do?
why ty leigh... used to LOVE fundip when i was a kid...specially the stick!
nope, next one down jee
and when my Alan was trying to save money to buy me an engagement ring (as a poor medical student--we were both at Univ. of B'ham) he spent entire nights packing choc boxes for Cadbury and learning for his exams at the same time--
The stick was the best part. But I once knew a kid who snorted the sugar powder on a dare. That was interesting.
lol...what a sugar rush!!! lol
Hetty- That's very "sweet" of him.
poor kid
dumb kid
Every house in the Cadbury village had its own little orchard--unheard of to most of my family, growing up in the Black Country
bazooka bubble gum was also very good... and the comics inside
Hetty - my other half comes from the Black Country (nr. Walsall). Where did you grow up?
and Alan is a very sweet guy, as Stid will confirm! Now I must run. See y'awl later
There's some Bazooka sitting on our coffee table right now. My brother loves it.
Jac, we've had this converstaion before--I was born in Halesowen and NOW I HAVE TO GO
Bye Hetty!
Later Hetty
We sell chocolates and sweets where I work so I consider it my duty to the customers to try the new ones! Favourite of the moment is the Mars Delight.
teel

Have you tried them?
Not yet. I just starting seeing commercials yesterday and I haven't been to the store to get them.

feather ro think casino
feather - ro8 = gambling wheel, plural is ro9

thanks dodge and oggy! Rs are done! off to do other things for a bit. thanks jilli too!
it looks like chucky in the sun, but i can't figure the rest out
I did notice that they were "odder" than usual.

I expect big things from you in the future...you can't waste all of this creativity!
not that you are wasting it now...you are definitely not!
*giggles* well I haven't even got started on the Wizard of Oz yet...
That should be fun!
http://i7.tinypic.com/212b7o0.jpg - oh, believe me, it was...XD

Those are too funny!
does anyone have the first y6?
the most fun fu6
thanks! ^^
k.a click on lickety on the bottom and u will get a list. it tells u what the words start with and how many letters and points . example se5/6.

hi, clue please for in7,32
I finally figured out how to put a face to my name! :) (it looks just like me; except my hair isn't blue yet!)
nice one, Nef...I dyed my hair blue once... blond hair + blue dye = looked like I was MOULDING...XD
in 7 = the mean time
in camping shelter. wheres all the good cluers gone?!!
hm, thanks...i will work on the clue...
* in the mean time
LOL! Miya, my Sis once dyed her hair green for St. Patricks Day; only back then we didn't have all of these temporay hair dyes that they have now ; so she used food coloring
k thanks!!
my clue was the wrong in7 sorry!!
thanks, i got it!
NOT a good choice over mousy brown hair. Same effect as yours only it lasted for a long time
ye 6 please anyone i have none of them lol x
food colouring?! XDDD luckily mine was only in for a few days, but...I prefer to dye my hair bright pink. One day I'll get it done permanently...really...*coughs*
My dog is ridiculously stinky.
ye6 just add s to ye5 before it
Hi Miya - goodness I haven't "seen" you here in ages! How are you?
My daughter had every color of the rainbow when she was back in high school. Once she hit college, she quit dying it
thanks oggy dont have that one either !!
ye6: the day before today is ye6day
*stands in doorway, looking sultry, (not difficult in this heat) * does blue steel* : D
thank you for that, leigh :)
help with in 8 please?
ye5/15 - a jewish matchmaker lady - and plural
but it's sooooooooooo horrible....
fiz nice clue ta x
leigh - turn the fan backwards and sit the dog in front of is! How's the car?
BABS!!
hehe, I was just wondering if anyone had noticed! lol!!
hey, Lupe! I'm great thanks, how are you? really, Nef? Was she allowed?! Rebel ^^
dont get the matchmaker clue!!!
what sort is it, leigh? not a boxer?
babs - with that sultry smoulder? how could we not notice?
Babs, I...don't really know what to say to that kind of an entrance XD how are you?
A Whea Cocka Poo
in8 show some in8 in something as if your keen
Weaton Terrier, Cocker Spaniel, Poodle. A whore's son.
awwwwwwwww! wanna see a photo now :)
lol!! Zoolander's on in an hour. Can't wait to watch it again, lol! XD
m3: if you want something, you have a ye* for it, + cross + 2nd vowel
(((Miya))) good thanks, (baking!), how about you?
Oggy -- I have that one...I need the first one/
Fiz- Car is bye-bye. They're going to get rid of it later today.
lol oggy thanks 4 the help bt it ent rele helpin, i dnt think im clever enuf 4 all these numbers an letters lol
I let her dye her hair whatever color she wanted. After all, it would grow out (BUT I never would allow a tattoo or odd piercings)
in8 extend the in5/10 before it
I will try and get pictures of it tomorrow. I don't have a digital camera! I'll get my boyfriend's camera and take pics.
on wi10/98 i have the season, what does the next bit start with is it mo?
*giggles* so what constitues to an "odd" piercing? XD I'm great thanks, Babs! (Keep wanting to call you Babsybobs, for some reason)
i dont have the 5/10 b 4 it either lol
in* someone who makes jewelry, maybe?
Thanks Oggy....
Babsybobs works for me!! lol
nef - we had the same rule when i was growing up - any hair color ok, as long as i didn't "put holes in my face"
k.a it means that the words start with example in5/6 means it starts with in has 5 letters and worth 6 points. u dont have to finish the grid just give it a go.
I started catching up on some sudoku today. Sat 8 July has me completely stumped. : / (or am I just out of practice?)
tattoos and odd piercings came after I was 18....
Yay for tattoos!
babs - sudoku always makes me feel completely stumped - that's why I stick to workds!
k ta
*flashes quick glimpse of ink at leigh*
k.a have u got any words yet.
Miya, piercings other than the ears are odd. :) facial piercings aren't acceptable in many professional jobs. And other body piercings can cause problems too
I have two. Back and ankle.
stomach, hip, and shoulder...
I'd love a tattoo that goes after five or seven years ... Nef, I know a guy with ten piercings 8D nine on his face...and he says the location of the other is a "secret" XD
What of?
miya - if you can't imagine having it infected, you shouldn't get it pierced!
i have 18 in my ear one in my nose and tongue and i am a sales executive. go figure.
Miya- That's no secret. =P
lol oggy i've got the basic wrds that i've found myself
LMAO Fiz!
ears that is
*blinks innocently* why, Leigh, what might you be implying?
Bleugirl - you are awesome XD
Great rule, Fiz!
it depends on your professional job. my customer is apple, so they are a bunch of weirdos anyway
lol bleu! my dad's a doctor, does some training with new docs. I remember being 8 or 9 and seeing a doc in training with a bunch of little gold rings in each ear - and thinking, How Cool!
k.a just keep going if u get stuck u can always ask for clues, we are all here to help.
4 tats. hip, shoulder, thigh, back
help with the fe8/55? know what it should start with....
k.a u can find words in the dictionary as well.
aww bless thatnks
I've been up as high as 12 in my ears, but down to a mere 5 now. and i'm a public health professional...
The problems with peircings is if you develop an allergy to metal (like *I* did) then if your ears end up scarred it won't show much
*gags on dog stink*
the stigma is going away. there are 40,50, 60+ yr olds getting piercings and tats.
i got my ears double pierced with my grandma when i was 12 and she was 75. we're going back this year for her 90th - but i don't have much room left.
i am allergic to everything it seems, but my jewelry hasn't caused problems. only if i try the cheap stuff. it can be a problem though.
A boy's secret piercing is never going to be his belly button
that's awesome. my mom didn't get her ears pierced the first time til she was 39.
leigh - can you febreeze the dog directly? (and is a girl's secret piercing ever going to be her belly button? )
I've let the holes in my ears close up, and I'd only really like a lip ring. It'd have to be a nice, dainty one though...XD
fe8 is extended from fe4/7
fe8/55 superlative of adjective form of previous fe4/7
my mom got hers pierced after 50
i am trying to get my husband to pierce and tatto something. he wants to but he takes forever to make up his mind on what he wants to do.
Leigh...knowing this guy, it really could be *blinks* there are no boundaries with him...
My Mum's allergic to all metal except gold. When she was young, she had her ears pierced all the way up the sides. But she didn't know she could only wear gold and her ear swelled up. She's still got scars. : /
miyavi, please send me pictures if you do it - i always wanted one and never did it, and i feel like i'm too old or whatever to do that now.
LoL. I don't think that would get rid of new stench
superlative adjective did it for me, thanks!
wait - leigh and fiz - don't febreeze the dog! mine had epilepsy and the first suspect cause was febreeze!
didn't know it could even BE an adjective
i have my nose pierced! :) ok, back to the corner...
Yikes, Leigh, I take it back! just a nice shampoo and blow dry, maybe...
and it looks lovely, wassup!
ls-really? wow.....
Bleugirl, I developed my allergies as I aged. (I'm old enough to be leigh's grandmother, but my kids are both in their 20's --I was a late bloomer!
i wasn't allergic when i got my ears pierced all up the sides(9) but after a while i cou=ld only wear gold. it got rather wexpensive
Shampoo will make him smell better, but not his butt
thanks smaller! :)
there was a rumor about febreeze being harmful to animals...so much so that now febreeze has a thing on their bottles saying it's safe, which it is. check snopes.com
yeah - and they even advertise that you can use it on dog bedding - dangerous
Nef- Therefore, you wouldn't be my grandma, you'd be my mom!
yw!
i'm saying cork, again, leigh - i know people were mad at me for the suggestion last time but i think it's the way to go...
Sorry to break in...hello, one and all...is there a discrepancy in the lickety list fo words? I seem to have two more words than he has listed, and the grid is taking them.
go to www.snopes.com, and use their search with the words "febreeze dog" and it'll pull up the article.
Fiz, I will do...XD in four years, when I'm allowed...I'll take a picture!
I don't think they were REALLY mad. =)
don't forget the helmet - it's a key part of the equation in case pressure builds up...
Hi inge!
hi inge - I'm not that far yet...
Ewwww... *lmao*
i got to be one of the product testers for febreeze and it made my allergiers go hay wire, i guess they didn't listen to my feed back
Hi Liegh, does anyone else have trouble with the fo words?
Not too much trouble. 3 fo's to go.
oh - FO words - I though you were saying "for words" - mine played nice
hey ingy, leigh, fiz
zzI am going to cross check BJ's list.
Hello Evano!!

oooh Fiz more caramels, love those too!!

brb folks...going to do quote puzzler
yw peri!
ranMag - before you go...
later, fran
yes jac?
I tried to join quotepuzzler. First it told me my e-mail addy wasn't a proper one (??) and then, when I used another, it accepted me, said it was sending a joining mail, and the mail never arrived.
let me go see if there's a link that can help
what is quote puzzler?? am I missing somthing?
FranMag - If I try again I think I should put you as the person who recommended me. That way, I think, you get a couple of months free membership don't you?
it's another word game site nrkii hooked us on
Okay, FranMag.
I just finished starburst, codecracker, big crossword and super sudoku and sms'ed my answers for chance to win $$$....
mrP, http://www.quote-puzzler.com/default.a sp?refer=Q8EFL8 you may have to copy and past in parts
jac, that's my link....wait for fran's with her number
thank you!
Okay feather.
vi5/28 please
http://www.quote-puzzler.com/default.a sp?refer=ECX8X1
jac, that's my referral link
Oh that is a great puzzle!! I play that every sunday in our sydney paper
fran, i got 2 stars yesterday! was on a roll!
also, there is an email link in "about/contact" for the administrator if your second attempt doesn't work.
Thanks FranMag. Will try it.
i got two also feather! not sure for what though.
make sure your email account isn't blocking anything too jac
i'm still working on word builder, as always....there's gotta be a way to use that Q twice!
mrp, it's online also, they are quick and challenging, a lot of babblers on there now
Franmag - will do.
you can use my or feather's referral link if you care to.
i'll be back in a bit everyone!
I'm fed up with playing Boggle when I've finished Babble as I'm sure a lot of them use the cheat program. It just isn't possible to type in over 100 words in the time allowed.
And I really can't see the point in using the heat program. I mean, where's the challenge in that?
gah, help with the se5/10?
I can't work out how they cheat! it would take too long to get the words up wouldn't it??
feather, se 5.10 a net or a french river
ty!
MrP. There is a cheat program and you just paste the grid into it as far as I can see. I've never used it though. Like I said, what would be the point?
i always miss that one
feather - I guess you also need the se6/18 to go with it? One who frequents that river?
got it, thanks jac!
36 left~ woo hoo!
be back later...go feather!
vi5/28 please
Lots of French words in today's grid. It won't accept ' roule/s' though. Mind you, you can go to the casino big time after that.;-)
Peri - stupidhead word - add a consonant to vi4/11.
Jac, sounds like alot of idiots show off by using cheat programs... they like to see their name on the top of the list I suppose
hmm, mo6/21, after the dash dot code?
I must be old-fashioned, MrP. The only way I like to see my name climbing up the rankings is by earning it.
thanks Jacula, indeed a stupidhead word
Mind you, I think we all feel that way in here, don't we?
67 to go but quitting for the night, see you all tomorrow
here here
Feather - a delectable little piece of food maybe?
i agree jac
'Night Peri. Have a good evening.
ty!
y/w feather.
just popping in to say "Good Evening" We still have 181 left. I don't hold out much hope.
hi all! speaking of quote puzzler, etc.-- today in my secret word I entered an anagram o the secret word-- a valid word, & it was rejected! I was considering joining until that happened!
hi y'all
hi y'all
hi, ping!
lib, i like your icon!
how many word s are there tonite and hello sorry if I was rude
Janiece - Never say never!
I find quote puzzler annoying for some reason
am following the conversation here....I can assure you there's no way I would bother cheating at this time in the morning......its 2am........am dtermined to finish it!!.......
ty, oing--wong theme, though!r
aww, sorry that happened lib!
ty, ping--wrong theme, tho!
Eek! Sudden rush of messages.
nice typing...
hey y'all
what happened to origami?
some icons transcend the theme, yours for one
hi beebee
Ping - I thought it was country music but found it had been changed to 'favorite candy' or, as we say in UK 'favourite sweets'.
hi, bee bee!
Origami was yesterday, libarebel.
it
how's it going libra
right, it did say country
it's candy day for me too
oops libar
that's right--with short puzzle, I forgot...
Flask - We were talking about people using cheat programs for Boggle.
for boggle or for weboggle?
Smiley - 279 words today.
Oh damn......thats what I get for butting......sorry!
Ping - weboggle.
thank u
still have 48 words left- of all days to have a big grid- my dog gets sick, kids have to be carted about, hubby wrecks- ughhh
but, i would hope i could find 48 words in 4 hours
i have 147 left!
Flask - no need to apologise! Join in. If I sounded short, I certainly didn't mean to. (Well, I AM short at only 5' 1" & a squiggle. %' 2" on a good day.)
go ping go- you can do it
jac, how do the teams work for weboggle?
lol......cheers Jac!
Cheat programs... Uh, with 181 words to go, maybe....
Ping - No idea! Someone on here does play in a team but I can't remember who it is.:(
Nah, then it wouldn't be really winning!
thank u for telling me
beebee, that does sound like a rough day - good thing there's a big grid maybe?
Janiece - exactly!
y/w Smiley.
beebee - sounds like a bad day! Time to relax a bit now, if you can.
second lu6/21 please?
Feather - sounds like nutters but moon spelling.
jac- i'm trying to relax with this grid-not working to well :)
got it
lu6/21- take 1st5/12 and add 3rd vowel
beebee - close your eyes, think of a palm-fringed beach with white sands and hear the sound of the waves lapping on the shore. Take a deep breath and smell the sea air.... relax all your limbs and then open your eyes and look at the grid anew. (If the cat or the dog, or the kids, or the hubby haven't leapt on you by then.)
LOL, jacula!
You were all seeing and hearing that beach though, weren't you? :-)
jac- lol thx
Shall I put one of my holiday pics up to help?
please do, jac
evening all :) Jacula, was your holiday heavelnly?
neavenly
heavenly!
It was very nice. Paul and I are both on antibiotics now (he, because he trod on a Scorpion fish on the last day) and me because the pilot who took us there landed so steep and so fast he did my ears in + I have infected mossie bites. But, it was lovely really! LOL.
I'll go and find a relaxing pic for you all.
oh no! I'm glad the rest was nice, but it sounds like you need a vacation from your vacation to recover from your vacation. yes, yes, pics!
it's to the point i'm just making up words and then i get mad when they won't allow it
ir6/30?
Ooh that was hard work! I had to click that 'unresponsive script' message 11 times to get back here. Pic is now up. Refresh to see it.
Feather - full of anger.
ir6/30, that is, not me!
Mab - that's what our GP (family doctor) said!
ahh, ty
down to 15
Can someone tell me, does the un 7 have anything to do with the un 5 before it?
The boat is 'Venus'. She took us to the island of Spinalonga (more on that when I do my travelog when I get Paul's parents' photos to add to ours). That sapphire sea is the Aegean Sea.
nope, nothing at all leigh. think metal
clue please for the 4th st5,10
metal.... k
Thanks Feather!
go, feather!
Leigh - un + a metal.
Got it Jac, but thanks. =)
*must now figure out her last two we's*
never mind! i got it
emusing - it's a medical shunt. s + canvas shleter.
*shelter
exquisite! truly gorgeous, jac.
evening all *yawn*...138 words still.
Mab - It was. I fell in love with the Aegean, and Spinalonga.
Hi Cathyar.
127 for me, cathy
reeses...mmmmmmmmmmmm
clue for li10 pls?
leigh - the we's mostly have to do with pigs, sausages, a weird spelling of a cereal crop, going, and a compass point (+ a film with cowboys in it). Thrn there's what water does to you...
Hmm...which of those are the first set of 6/30 and 7/44? =P
li10/70 is a most unpleasant word. It has to do with undigested food in faeces.:-( It's a medical term.
ok, i hate the vowels. have i mentioned that? i'm going to cave and just ask for ones that are probably fish. first in5/10?
leigh, you want the weird spelling for hot dog +plural
Cath- li + opposite of exit + a three letter plurual
Start with the legal term li4/4 and than add a word that sounds like towelling nappies (but take out a middle consonant).
Feather, that's part of what I clued for jms
Thanks Nef and Jac. I'm now done with this crazy grid. =)
the in******ing person? no, have that, i need the first one
BTW, I admire you for getting an 13y/o boy hooked on word games
An unpleasant aside - I wonder why they don't cut the crap and call sweetcorn li10/70. SORRY!
lol jac!
heh, it was easy, i just showed him the site!
fer sure have the first part of the li10, but the last 3 plural letters are killing me... medical term...must be a latin ending?
Cath- Clued by Haz earlier as plural for the place where dead people lie.
Cathyar - the ending is like a long-running show, or a show of many parts that you might have been watching: a ser***.
ahh...ty jacs
y/w, Cathyar.
so, top in5/10?
I don't know it, Feather. I thought that that was it
Feather - you'd find one in a bay and you might set anochor there.
ty!
DUH! Please pass the fish for me too!
hi, any clues for the un10, please?
emusing-I would if I could, but due to un________circumestances I can't.
un + fo8/55

I don't stereotype, Red. Sorry if it came across that way.
eva--must have tried that a gazillion times this am--left out a vowel...
Red - whereabouts is your Dad from?
tsk tsk jacs... u said a word...sort of
Edgbaston
it's one of those time when you just need to assume that the word can be made, even if you can't see how it could be.
;)
Did I, Cath? Oops!

mosee
lol... eva!!!
not too far from the warwick ground
feather, did you get the in 6/18 after the 8/40? I just did. It's a plural
oops
I know it, Red. I was born in Moseley, not far from there. Is your Dad a cricket fan? That's where the ground is.
Oh, you just said.
couldn't it be an alternate spelling of moseying along?
oh, yep! thanks anyway nef!
Yes we grew up going there almost every sunday when we were little
Do you mind me asking how old you are now, Red?
I live in NY Now so i dont get to see cricket too often unfortunately

sigh. thank you!
111 here
i have ey9, could someone tell me what the other starts with?
lol, nef
he's too busy Jac. He's sitting next to the open front door in the entryway listening and smelling all the night creatures. Hoping that something will stroll too close.
(Fret)
Hursh - Just wanted to say thanks for the great travelog in BA. I really enjoyed reading it. You've put me to shame though! I still haven't done my Crete travelog. I do have an excuse though.... I'm waiting to get P's parents' pics.

hurshy- ro9/60
cathyar--thanks, that li 10 is ODD
oh jac, don't be silly, and i'm glad you enjoyed it

Hi Firema
brb-smoke break
kinda like not liking a person...instead of merely recognizing it's their behaviour we may dislike...not the person.
k beebee...have a puff for me
that's the one trouble with larger grids, your brain just sort of stops being willing to find words after a certain point
hurshy - much enjoyed your travelogue, almost like being there. do look at jacula's icon in full-size.

You were most amusing in the interludes of Stidmama's story yesterday. I know that 'cos I had to go into the archives to find the story and then save it to notepad and then read it, and all its asides to my Other Half for his bedtime story.
