O Canada right now, eh gang?
wow
*crashes the Canada party with hk*
stats posted. bedtime for me. ciao
All right fellow Canucks!
oops - helen snuck in there -- welcome helen!
Thank you, bj. Night.
lol leigh - crash away!
Ciao - its late where you are brandy
hiya jili
thanks bj - good for you and sleep tight
hi to all the newcomers
ty brandy, pleasant dreams after all those margaritas!
Some good things to come out of Canada: Martin Broduer, Hockey, Martin Brodeur, Martin Brodeur, Quebec, Martin Brodeur, and...hmm...I think I'm forgetting something. Oh, that's right, Martin Brodeur.
Wayne Gretzky, Steve Nash, Mike Weir, Larry Walker
ok leigh - i
Who? =P
m def with you on the hockey thing, but, dare i ask, who is martin b ?
well, lots of other things, Leigh. I'm not a hockey fan.
hk- Only the hottest and bestest (in this day and age) goaltender ever to cross the border!
Tim Hortons donuts (originally)
Jill- Oh, I know. There's billions of wonderful things to come from Canada. But my baby Brodeur is number one.
I have a dumb tech question to ask. How do you manage to go to a new line of text here without hitting Enter?
shift + enter
shift + enter to type on the second line
hockey is not the same with bobby hull, stan mikita, tony esposito, keith magnuson - wait those were all BLACKHAWKS !!!! :)
Ah, thanks! Now I know.
*withOUT*
is hockey the sport that is played with brooms and a rock?
I have to concentrate now - otherwise the list of GREAT hockey players to come out of Canada - would take the whole log!
been here since flip but not looking at chat, is everyone aware the 8 is tr?
Oh, hockey, how I missed thee in your absence...and I cannot wait until October, when I can pay my respects to thee at the Devils' home opener.
well, yes mayne - that would be about all of them
Some great baseball players too, amny of whom started with the Montreal Expos, may they RIP in DC
The DEVILS? The kings of clutch and grab?
Hi hurshy -- no, unaware but thanks fot the tip!
Hockey was ruined for me with the advent of the thugs and Don Cherry
hi! i'm too late for da flip.
MG- I'm not about to get all nasty in the chat. So I will not remind you of the last time Canada brought back the cup.
hi melon - never too late for flipping :)
*cough, smile* I'm not mean like that.
Ooooh - points for you, Leigh!
hi canadians and assorted others!
I'll think of a great comeback tonite about 4:00 am and then forget by morning!
hi pdb!
Hi pdb
Hi pdb!
ah - di6.24 skirts - theres a flashback. hello everyone.
MG- Though I will bow down, and remember the olympics (which Canada has won at plenty of times). And I have nothing but the greatest respect for Canada. Without you, I would not have Brodeur. =)
Come on, gang, let's find that tr8 hurshy taunted us with!
And if you do get a comeback, put it in the chat and I'll look through the logs later to find it and be stung.
Jill- I found it a little while ago. Have fun!
I got 2 tr 7's - english desserts and desserted (??)
lynxxx - I got the skirt, thanks!
past tense desserts
oh duh, mayne, that's what you typed.
I have to admit, Leigh, that I have been more than a little frustrated with the Canucks - so much talent - so little effort! I am prob a little jealous of the Devils
Well pdb - it's late where you are!
hooray for the tr's! wtg, mayne!
so far, I have four tr7s.
got the 8. no clue what it means...
Still haven't the tr 8 - tho another tr 7 - three of creases
How bout a clue pdb?
There was nothing to be jealous of in the playoffs while playing Carolina. It hurt me right here. *points to chest where something resembling a heart should be* We had our ups and downs this season, but Lou Lamoriello coaching for a huge chunk of it was probably the most interesting part. I thought he was a better coach than GM. He trades away all the good people, and then brings them back when they aren't so good anymore and disgraces them by sending them to play in the AHL (I don't care about salary caps...bad excuse for humiliating one of the best players in years!)
it's a plural. rhymes with a di 736
i have a clue - think of a bed - tr, that fits underneath another bed. change the third letter which is a u to the third vowel and then plural it.
well, that would be nice if I knew the di 7/36. Dumb me
nice, joey. was still trying to think of one.
thanks
Great clue, joey - thx!
Ditto, jilli
yvw,glad to help
Yes, great clue, joey, thanks
Leigh - you really are a fan! We've just fired our coach, at last - but our GM seems to lack pizazz and the smarts re players - I think - tho my son disagrees with me vehemently.
and the dictionary doesn't know what it means
well that clue didn't help me at all!
Well actually they both rhyme with what Sleeping Beauty pricked her finger on. I think it was SB
Our GM has picked up a new coach finally. Looking forward to seeing how this affects the Devils. I am a fan...the arena is only fifteen minutes away (for now, though that could sadly change) and I am more passionate about it than my boyfriend. Actually, my store manager where I work played for the Devils' AHL team and was being eyed up by the Devils before he was injured. He's still got his jersey and everything.
clues are up!
thx lickety!
maynegirl used a woooord, maynegirl used a woooord..
thanks!
well, i think i'll save the last 30 for the morning, how's everyone doing?
TY Lickety
Thanks Lickety - running out of gas
Yay!! Thanks Lickety, we love you. I'll have your babies. =P
thanks again, Lickety! (Watch out for Leigh!)
mrp might object leigh
thanks lickety
thank you than you lickety
hurshy- Shhh....she doesn't have to know. *giggle* And I've been blethering on for so long I only have 40 words. Good for you!
Hurshy - I "only" have 171 to go -- don't know how you do it -- except you don't chat much, right?
this grid makes me hungry, if the f were next to the r we could get frito and fritata...
well yes i didn't really chat there except to say that the 8 was TR
i'm just fast at the beginning, i dunno why.
and you'd already found it...qed
yes it's the old babble tradition, let people know when you find the long 'uns so they know what they are
a lovley tradition
OK - now am working on grid - I have 132 to go and want to get halfway before bed *disappears*
14 sevens!
the thing is, sure, i got 153 in half an hour... but if i go completely listless, i might spend a good 4 or 5 hours on those last 30 words!
hi everyone
good for you, mayne *disappears too, with one eye open for clues*
hey hurshy :)
im outta here..got more than halfway thru.. leave the rest for tomorrow and thereby get some rest tonight
gnie chj! we'l have a better day tomorrow
night chj
yes, night all! :)
Bye chj

One hundred words down. 83 to go. Bedtime, so I can be somewhat useful at work.

Night, Muse, night everyone.
good nite leigh
good might mymus
hk - speaking of three stooges - which my mom also forbade: today would my grampa's 104th bd - what do you suppose we watched whenever my mom left the house???? - amazing how the stooges were always on just then! childhood magic.
lol melon - but really, don't you think they're stupid now - i know i sure do - but then so does every other woman i know :)
mostly, yeah - they're stupid - once in a great while inspired. my son loves the stooges, Marx bros, and a modern successor on Comedy Central last year - Stella.
it really is a guy thing, hk.
yep - i don't think my mom had anything to worry about on that one
passed the halfway! laila tov, all.
good nite melon
good nite to whoever's left :)

Thanks lynxxx!

thanks again! i've got 5 so far...
i'm not doing so well on this one!
have you got the classic english dessert?
I look at my long list of words and feel good. Then I notice I still have 87 to go... :)
I've had that classic English dessert, and I'd prefer pretty much any other dessert. Then again, the version I had was brought back from England in a can. Bleagh!
im with you taco....i just dont like custard
I can't even imagine that! - Home made is exellent though
how many qu's? anyone know?
Three qu words.
BBL - must do shop before darkness falls

Morning all Very quiet log this morning - I see the blue and white pottery is back.
morning mitch..its trickier than it looks
Hi rolin, you're right it is hard today
but not as bad as yesterday - hello FM
If you guys think its hard - maybe I ought to give up right now.........!
did you get your shopping done lynxx?
lol..spannr...nah...
Hey Lynxx on a par with yesterday's I would say Spanner you just keep going and enjoying
Ive "gone" for 19 words and its taken 20 minutes...........!
so you have the methodical approach :)
spanner i find screaming in utter frustration helps as well...
No I have the "put in all the short words that you know in, build on them, then just put anything in and pray its a real word" approach!
That's the methodical approach, spanner!
You mean your all nutters as well?
Why do you think we're here?
I thought (by how many times Ive seen the words "Ive finished" ) that you were all genius and simply flexing your brains for a bit of light relief! I mean some of these words aren't REALLY words, are they.....? :)
I can't do a grid without help but it's the fun of the game and the log that brings me back
Some of the words are very odd! Do you know about Lickety's list? If not, follow the link from the bottom L/H side and that will tell you where all the words are. I'd never finish without it.
ooh i was so excited about starting and im being kicked off now
SM - wow, thanks! Heres hoping it helps.....:)
Good morning all. This looks a tricky grid today.
hello Haz
Morning Haz It is a tricky little blighter but there are some good words
does anyone have the RI7.32? if so, is it medical?
Hello FMitch, lynxxx and all. Time to settle down and stretch the brain.
Don't have that yet lynxx
Do now - sounds lie an Italian rice dish but change the 3rd letter
morning everyone
TY FM
hello ruthy
Hi ruthy
Good morning ruthy - thanks for the ri7 FMitch.
*wanders in for a hug* : (
(((Babbler))) long time!!
Good morning Babbler!
GOOD MORNIG EVERONE :-) how is everyone today?
oh thank you, FMitch and Haz. :' )
hello Babbler & M3
hi lynxxx
hi M3
Hi M3 Babbler have to been busy with the real word or babbling quietly, haven't seen you on for a while?
*you not to! doh
honestly, truthfully, FMitch? I haven't played for ages and ages. And now I'm too scared to cos I've forgotten all the magic little words! : /
oh and I couldn't leave the site up for ages cos my pc couldn't cope with the new site, so I couldn't lurk anymore
but I've got more memory now. (in the pc, not my brain! lol!)
LOL well nice to see you again
(soz for poor grammar - I didn't sleep a wink, hence my need for hugs). : /
I've been lurking and chatting more since I upped the memory.
can anyone please give me a clue for the go 6/27
Reached 133 and that will have to do for now, have to be off but back later. Happy Babbling.
laters, FMitch. Have a good day. : )
go6/27 - descriptive of precious metal
Bye FMItch - have a good day.
I just saw that. Or you could say "Silence is..."
bye FM - and thanks
ty haz i just found that is there another
I go a-looking!
If I wasn't a perfectionist, I could probably play part grids and not aim to complete. But I'm too hard on myself.
love a clue for it ruthy - on the list of my "can't see yets"
go6/27 - ends in an egg layer
And it can be pluralised for go7/40
ty haz
haha - I'm thinkng egg layer?- so that would be a frittata or something ! get it now - thankyou Haz
You're welcome, ruthy.
how does lickity show where the words are???
Lickety's list gives you the second letters and points values of the words to be looked for. When you find them, fill them in to his add words section and it automatically places them in the right order of the list. You still have to find the words yourself.
o ty haz
Hope you enjoy using it!
yes ty lol thoughtm it would just give me some of these odd words lol
It can help sometimes by showing you points value - do the sums and you can often make a stab at the word. You may also wish to use some of the online dictionaries.
another good idea ty
I personally like the way the L list is in alphabetical order so you can word out the logical next letter/s - BJs list doesn't always seem to work that way although I have not used that a lot
have not looked at bj s yet
BJ's list is in alphabetical order too. He does different variations so we can pick and choose how much info we want.
ook ty
TY I'll remember that
thats me finished
Congratulations ruthy!
Hooray for Ruthy
congrats, ruthy : )
Hi everyone
Good morning Angb.
hello Angb
That grid is getting larger by the day!
hi can anyone clue the ag4/7 -it is eluding me and driving me mad
ag4/7 add a shortened form of mother
thnx Haz- I'd tried it once but it wouldnt get accepted
That makes it even more frustrating!
I have a lot of good words. But they're not in the grid LOL
Indeed - lol - but ok now
en6.30 & 7.44 - a hint pls
To wrap something in something else.
TY Haz
Those words also come in 'in' varieties.
double thanks ! how did you know!
Because I've already got them! I'm nearly at the end, 3 to go.
thats me finished
4 for me - thanks to you
hi everybody!
YAY Hannah
yay hannah lou!!
Great hannah lou. Hi Fran
Hi Fran !
hi angb!
Good morning FranMag and congratulations hannah lou!
hi lynxxx and haz!
thanks for those clues you just gave haz!
thanks haz for the en,in,6,7s
You're welcome FranMag. It's an interesting grid today, quite a few words that have appeared recently. And a few new ones, just to keep it interesting!
those are the best kinds haz!
i think it's time to take out a list. i have 38 left and i keep putting the same words over and over again!
You've done really well to get this far without a list - the rest will appear like magic!
Mornin' all!How's it look today?
morning amanda!
Good morning amandacath. It's a nice mix of grid, initially a bit off-putting, but some lovely words.
finally the red vegetable! It's been soooo close in soooo many grids!
Morning all.
hi jac!
Good morning Jacula.
hi jac!
really give up on my last 2 - DI6.24 & 7.36 pls
hello Jac & AmandaC
Oops no just found it !
It sounds like DI 6.24 the skirt
yay lynxxx!!!
di6/24 - the same ending as the tr7 or the piece of the spinning wheel which was Sleeping Beauty's downfall.
I retract the clue if you have found it! Does this mean fireworks?
TY Haz anyway - and Yes
Congratulations!
Well done, lynxxx!
I'm here for 5 minutes if anyone wants my awful clues - this room is way too cold at night!
'nite all - Congrats to those who will finish shortly
'Night lynxxx. Sleep well.
night lynxxx!
hello everyone.
hi preethi!
Hello Preethi.
So, I got 90 (more or less) on my own - how many more to look for?
Amandacath - 187 words in total today.
cool, i found one of those new words i think haz was talking about...sounds like a chicken that enjoys slasher movies.
FranMag - I've found 118 words so far but I don't think that's one of them! Ooh, I shall enjoy looking for that.... 'Here chookie, chookie...'
found the chicken one - you learn something new every day...
What a good description of the word, FranMag! I'm off to do some housework and walk the dog. Enjoy the hunt for the bloodthirsty bird.....
thanks haz! see you later!
I think it must be hiding under the coop! I'll try scattering some corn to lure it out...
'Bye Haz.
FranMag - I haven't found the bloodthirsty chicken yet but I think your clue should go down in history as one of the best Babble clues ever!:-)
morning all...back for the final assault...i hope..
... the mental images it is giving me... *grins*
Hiya rolin.
thanks jac!
hi rolin!
weren't you talking about evil dead the other day? i thought you would like that clue.
26 words to go and i still need 3 x 7's...
FranMag - Yes, I was! Watched ED 2 again only the other night. I love the scene where the screaming woman swallows the flying eyeball.
well those movies have quite a bit of blood and **** don't they.
Fran, you actually went on that ride TWICE? I would be sick just to look at it
Hi ExWren. Ditto, re the ride.
exwren, actually made two trips there, rode it 3 times altogether.
Hi Jac, have you been on the London Eye yet? Although I have no head for heights, I plucked up the courage, and it was OK. You don't actually know you are moving!
As for you Fran, you must be mad!
does anyone have the mo5/18?
ExWren - I haven't been to London since the Eye went up. I might have a go on it if and when I go again.
maybe exwren, but i told myself i had to at least try since i was always scared to try new things when i was a child.
Take my tip Jac, book your ticket in advance
rolin - I have an mo5/18 that is a kind of badge or insignia or a repeated pattern. (Often used in embroidery.)
Hi Fran, Jacula. How many words in the grid today?
don't have it yet rolin
183 preethi
ExWren. Thanks for the tip.
aah yes of course...thx
y/w, rolin.
not bad. Hows it going?
thanks jac, was missing that one.
preethi, i was stuck with 33 left, got the list and i'm slowly whittling away at what's left.
48 to go here. Still no list. I'm determined to find that missing chicken!
good luck Fran :)
thanks preethi!
jac...you wanna clue for the chicken?
rolin - I haven't found the chicken yet. FranMag said the word sounds like a chicken that likes slasher movies.
yeah...ithink of it kinda like a made up compound word with the middle vowel missing
Oh dear! My son just came in here and managed to bash his elbow on the chest-of-drawers. 'You shouldn't have sharp corners around children!' he said. 'You're 22!' I replied. :)
how funny jacula!
Mind you, it doesn't 'arf hurt when you bash your elbow doesn't it?!
Evening All
Evening All lens
lol...they never grow up...im sure
hi tiny!
Hello Tiny. Why onlly greeting all the Leonards? What's up with the rest of us? LOL.
It's a red-letter day - I found all the o's on my own!
how many o's in the grid?
yay amanda!
8 o's.
8 preethi
8, preethi
I have jus two :(. I think Im really stupid!
greetings :)
Hello cliffopa.
hi cliffopa.
hi all, anyone got the se 7,48 please
Hi seano. Not me. Sorry!
this one looks difficult. not many words are jumping out at me today.
by no means, preethi - o's are always difficult
hi seano, extend the se4/7, king is to king*** as se4/7 is to se7/48.
Preethi - I think the o's are worse than re's!
brills clue thanks fran
Thanks, FranMag!
preethi, the Os are not common words.
thanks seano.
I know! Cant find any of them. Amanda, you must be a genius.
hardly - it's mostly babble-practice, I think
I still have one 'o' missing.
How long have you been babbling Amanda?
2 left..ad both 4 letter words
o's - there's a man's name, bull-fight-cheers, irish alphabet...
can anyone give me a clue for ri7/32?
lucky rolin, my two left are 7s!
fran..ri+ot4
sorry...ri+di5
oh look..ill get it right this time...ri+do5....grrrrrr

i think todays grid is getting the best of me..lol
it's okay, figured it out from your first clue!!
Thanks, Rolin!
ro4,7...can you tell what it is yet?? (a little joke ;-D)
41 to go but it's time I went and got some work done. BBL. Good luck everyone.
lol sean
later jac!
What's it like today? (What's the theme)?
theme is amusement park rides matty.
and hello!
omg...i spent 5 mins looking for the frog...aagghh!!....but ive finished..
yay rolin!!!
can my pic count pls..its the only kinda ride i like up high...
hi matty
of course rolin!
cool...do you want any clues before i go to get some lunch?
Is it worth starting? My laptop works (for those of you who don't know, I spilled a glass of beer on it Sunday night), but I need to clearn the keyboard...
its tricky matty...
it's a nice grid matty.
Hi matty! I got to 90 fairly quickly, then it got sticky - even without the beer
clue for tr7/32 anyone? my last one.
fran - like a spare bed, diff. vowel
sorry amanda, that should be last tr7/32, i have that one.
OK - icon changed appropriately.
oh, that means I need it too
there are 5 TR7s amanda!! two are 7/32s
nice matty! i was hoping it would be a dragon ride.
alright, that means I need 4 tr7's .... hmmm
It's become a trend...
at 150 and I'm going to the list
yay, found that last tr7/32, i have fireworks!!!
hurray, Fran! Maybe a clue...?
here's the def: a plant of the genus Kniphofia having long grasslike leaves and tall scapes of red or yellow drooping flowers
amanda, it sounds like part of a three pronged red fruit that is also in the grid.
not being a botanist....
or, prefix for 3 + first part of the red fruit/vegetable.
got it! Thx fran
yw amanda! scary part is there are babblers that would have gotten that word from the definition!!
maybe it's a common garden flower? My garden knowledge is fairly limited too
phantom: infidel
they might know it as flame flower, that was a synonym. i have no clue what it is though.
hi everyone :)
ahh, I had to google a pic of it - it does look familiar...
hi saph!
hi saphyre!
how is everyone today?
i'm great, but ready for bed. just finished.
Amusement park rided, hmmm, I'll have to change my icon
i have 100 to go
morning all
rain, glorious rain! I never thought I'd actually be happy to see rain in this city, but after tha last couple of weeks...

Be back later

hi charm, bye tiny
morning saphyre
bye tiny!
Hi, amanda
wow that's not good Fran - I haven't watched the news yet
hi charm
hi phandmd! the am6 is an explosive, eastern nurse minus H + i ***d you so.
are the weather deities angry at us, or are they just on vacation?
hi phandmd
saphyre, a man in his 50s that has lived there all his life said it's the worst deluge he's ever seen.
I looked up the flame flower...and got something that starts with K...
great thanx!
horrible - is it just heavy rains? or did something burst too?
i guess there are a bunch of flowers called flame flower matty. try prefix for 3 + first part of the fruit/vegetable that's in the grid.
Cool - thanks!
it appeared to be just heavy rains, there was no mention of dams bursting.
yw matty.
Mother Nature is on a rampage I think
yes, i think weather extremes are going to be the norm for a while.
I think you are right
there is also a tropical storm headed for Florida, forecast to be a level 1 by Thursday.
morning
hey feather!
hi feather
We were going to move to Florida but then all those hurricanes hit and we decided against it. We were in Orlando when it hit there
how's the grid?
hi feather
it's a good one feather.
seems pretty good so far feather
k cool!
a bunch of new words, but a lot that you know already also.
FIREWORKS!!!!
yay amanda!!!!
still doing breakfast, just wanted to peek in, and saw my buddy fran up waaay too late!
congrats amanda!
congrats Amanda
i've been trying to track down whatever is messing with my computer!!
any luck?
no, i think we just have to schedule scrabble around the scans. they happen every 4 hours.
i'm going to bed now, anyone need a last minute clue?
I only scan mine once a week
Sleep well Fran
thanks saph! good night/morning all!
clue for 1st di 4/6?
night fran!
don't let the bed bugs bite!
phan - founder and queen of Carthage. Nitey nite Fran!
thank you
yw
how about the di 6 & 7 pair?
bye, Fran
di 6&7 - kind of like to get smaller, wast away, less a letter?
?
thanks, amanda
I need more help:-(
phan - rhymes with what I said, or part of a spinning wheel, or to light a fire...
phandmd, there's a dwi that means get smaller, waste away. drop the w.
my phantom word is matador
thnx; boy do I feel dense! lol
now the last 6/24?
german dress or skirt
thanks again amanda.
yes, thnx
yw - I'd never have seen that one either if someone hadn't clued it earlier
I actually thought about it but didn't enter it ....

Tiny - thanks for those do's! Dunno how I missed them.:)

You mean the tr6, surely Grace? You can.
No problems Jacula
no, the tr7/44 seems ripe for pluaralizing!
GraceM - I was disappointed too. what if a man had more than one?
drindle
it the tr7-32 that u pluralize to get the tr8 grace
Maybe it's a different tr7/44 to mine, Grace.
drop the r, Tiny. and pl.
yes, but the second tr7/44... anyone, it won't go.
alas!
it's the tr7-32 not the tr7-44 grace
Thanks Charm have them looking for dr5/18

yeppers...got all my tr words now. just puzzled is all.
dr5/18 = dr***wood which you find on the beach?
Ah, having just got the other tr/44, I see what you meant, Grace.
there's a 2nd tr7/44? I have the man's wallet. clue for the other please?
toyed with or past tense of small, meaningless things, Charm.
Charm - if someone plays with someone's feelings they might be have said to have tr***** with them. Think of a dessert with jelly, custard & cream layers.

Anj sorry did not get it
hi shorty, feather

Hi Annie
HEY BEAN
hehe, fair enough, lol : ) Just wondered why you didn't get the Bugs Bunny reference.
hi charm
sully
Tiny - are you trying for the type of skirt?
Hi shorty
Dont know
Anjis the 3rd one from bottom or top d
wanted - clue to first di6/24, the one that comes before the di7.
how can there be only one vowel in the di6/24?
di6/24 = " full-skirted dress with a tight bodice and low neck, that is either sleeveless or has short full sleeves."
hydra = singular of the di7?
thank you charm!
Haven't got the di7 either!
Tiny, it's a gathered skirt - anagram of DD and Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
I need the next one
yes, I thought it was a skirt, not a full-on dress. but just checked the definition and it does say dress. Interesting.
Got them now, charm. Monkey typing did the trick.
di6/24 - first three letters of noise, then anagram of led. di7/36 is the plural
di6 and 7 = there's a dwi which means waste away. drop the w.
Thanks everyone,
the di 6 is a very full skirt usually worn by folk dancers
I have that one and I have the one before the 7 one
There's also a di6/24 - looks like a past tense for making noise.
good morning
guess what babblers?
what, shorty

I got to meet faeriekae yesterday
she is a beautiful person
oh, now nice, did she sell her house?

Charm, it means a design or pattern

mo5/18 - a thematic element, can be in various guises.
mo 5/18 - style, in a manner
we had our own little babble convention LOL
shorty, im sure you had a great day with faerie, hope she comes on later
she is going to be on as soon as she gets situated

Annie - think what holds the thread on a spinning wheel or sewing machine.
Jacula, I am dense in that area. all i can think of is bobbin...oh dear
and the other word i think of is distagg
*distaff.....heat is getting to me
Annie: take i4/5 not doing anything. Insert a consonant. Add a starting letter. Pluralise for the 7.

Hi TheFiz
Howdy
I am well but busy - going camping this weekend - 3 days with no babble! - and have been running around to get everything done before i leave.
Oh, and did i mention that's its over 100 degrees F? so i'm a little less efficient than usual. How are you all?
A lot cooler than you!!
soooo hot here in Michigan too!
hot here, too. Where are you going camping?
southern Rhode Island - we've got a group that goes every summer - and the one who made the reservation swears we've got a shaded site - one year we went somewhere that was basically a parking lot and it was awful.
sounds like such a great time -- hope you get the shade!
Sorry for the sloooooowness of the site, folks. There is a massive mailing going out on the server, and the server is huffing and puffing. It should be over soon.
Thank Dr God
Thank Dr God

Yes Aloy but i finished this morning i only looked in to say hi!

Bye TheFiz(leave your hair alone)LOL
go6/7 please
caitlyn, how about some help w/the TR's? The 1st and last, please
oggy: i think you mean 6/27, so you won't miss a go**** opportunity to get the word!
oggy, there was a clue earlier that said Al Go** + female cluckers
gramma tr 6/27 a lovely dessert (made with jelly, fruit and cream)
the first tr is a favourie english dessert--or can mean a small amount, or, as a verb, to play fast and loose with---
Why yes it is! TY
don't forget the beef sauteed with peas and onions, caitlyn
ty, gramma.. i needed that!
the las tr is a combination of first 3 letters of tr6/27 followed by the part of the body you put it in, minus the snake and the "ch" at the end
cait, and past tense the dessert or you tr***** with my affections, you cad
And the last 1 would be???? Tr7, please
hurshy i prefer faggots and peas!!
gramma, I just clued it
gramma, I just clued it and the box ate my message!
gramma, I just clued it and the box ate my message!
hetty, we overlapped. My computer is awful today
caitlyn...a word of cultural discretion... in the US, faggots is a derogatory term for homosexuals...
hetty it must like tr6/27
anagram of "atom" after tr*
anagram of "atom" after tr*
hetty it must like tr6/27
hetty, ty I got it from your 1st clue
OH OH...the same word here also means a round mass of minced beef mixed with herbs (Also the same meaning as yours hurshy)LOL
SE 7/48? I can't find it. 13 left
hursh, thereis a connection as far as "faggots" goes--a faggot was used to kindle a fire in the Middle Ages, and we all know who (apart from witches and priests) were burnt at the stake
never mind I got it 8)
("faggot" meaning a small piece of kindling, a branch or bundle of twigs)
Hi...am back....still a long way to go......chat later...
etymology is so interesting
Ok better go get supper ready!! Hope babble site behaves for you all ..catch you all tomorrow Bye..........

good evening MVA (am here) apparently there's a very large mailing going out that is slowing the system down, Dr. God informed us
flosey, is that your dog? is it a Yorkie?
hi, MVA... a bit frustrating at present..but we can babble on!

I need clue for ma 5/16...pls
I know I just missed some tr clues, but I need the 2 middle words including the tr8
just to add to the discussion, in a German symphony orchestra the "Fagotist" is the bassoonist, what conclusion can one draw from that???
flosey, i'm dog sitting 2 yorkies and they are well behaved, mainly cos they are frightened of my cat!
ma 5/16...baby flies
lol MVA - interesting isn't it - but cats do tend to rule the household
tr7/32 & tr8/45 ...
ty
got go for a while , bbl
bye MVA, later
tr7 - 3 + first 4 letters of that red round vegetable.
don't have the tr8
Got them - Thanks ..
I got the 7/32...but what's the 8?
tr8/45 is plural of tr7/32 rolling bed but change the first vowel to an i
tr8/45 is plural of tr7/32 rolling bed but change the first vowel to an i
The first tr7/32 is a variant of a bed that slides under another bed -tr8 plural
tr7/32 sounds like the thing that sleeping beauty pricked her finger on and tr8/45 is plural
I am unable to finish because the box says words have to be at last four letters long. I am taking a two hour break and hope taht mailing will be done by then
good idea, inge... think I will do the same!
got them, ty:)
hello all -- logging on for the first time today. Took Lucky to the vet, had him sedated and they gave him a thorough going-over. His torn off toenail will heal okay (eventually). The ear that has been bothering him has a torn eardrum but isn't infected so will also heal (eventually). I am so relieved... he is really unhappy with me, but that's okay. He got the medical attention he needed.
oh, i'm glad he's ok stid!
good to hear stid - I think in the long run dogs know when you're taking proper care with them even when it hurts - ours seems to
but what is tr7,44?????? Hello everyone....
thanks for the positive feedback. I think dogs are smart enough to know that things are not always pleasant, but that we really do want the best for them.
Like certain wallets ..

; )
Sometimes you do it in chat and don't even realize it until you see "FIZ SAID A WORD" - you have to go back and look for where. Side note - I have 97 to go and thus may very well have used a word here.
in need of a "comfort break" as some of the nice genteel ladies say - brb.
hi babblers, just sneaking a peak at work to see what's happening!
hi gg
ri 7/32?
oh nrkii - i see good wishes are in order for you. Happy Birthday!
thanks gardengirl!
hi everyone... im new here, i noticed today that people ask for hints and stuff, and use some sort of code - like stephie just did... what does that mean exacty?
hi gardengirl!
humbugle - we do the first 2 letters of the word, the # of letters in the word, and the point value.
ri is what the word starts with, the 7 is how many letters the word has, and the 32 is the point value for the word
hi fiz - did I miss the party!
ohh i see ^_^
ri 7 = when you throw something out, you get *** of it + palindromic ending that finishes out other words in today's grid like mo5, lo5...
Thankyou <3
humbugle, we get the 2 letter and point info from using one of the two list helps available (Lickety's or BJ's)
*looks around* party? what party?
list helps? where are they? ^^;
whats happening
humbugle i think it's for the pros
thanks nrkii!
humbugle - scroll down - under Friends of Babble you'll see "Lickety's Babble Clues" and "Babbler's Anonymous"
Hokay, I'll leave it then :P Thanks anyway
oh yes i see it
if you click Lickety's you'll get a list of all the possible words by the code just discussed
wow. learn something new every day.
ahh excellent, okay, I understand from here
If you click BabAnon, under General you'll see a posting that says Stats and the date, and will give much the same info in a different format
nrkii--great ri7 clue--thanks
ahh excellent, okay, I understand from here Thanks again :P
I thought maybe a birhday celebration was happening in honor of nrkii!
mumeishi, definitely not just for pro's!
and if you're ever playing and you see Lickety or BrandyJack, thank them for providing such a great service!
I will do :)
now i have a clue.
gardengirl, well there WAS singing
gardengirl, not so much a party, just a round of singing. But here, Nrk, I got you this clown cone....

if you dont have teeth it sounds like more teeth
i thought leon spinks needed motrin, but i guess his headache it better now :)
Alex, if you go to lickety's clues in the link sec below there's a list
he has a lovely smile
mo 5 /18 is the dominant feature or idea in literary musical or other artistic composition
steff mo5/18 is a recurrent theme or the main idea in literature
editor
who's lickty?
mo5/18..head stooge + a little spat minus the last letter
not just literature
it's a page st up by a babbler- shows the stats of every word, lots of help
im tired i mite watch tv then go to bed
lol chj
AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHH!
The atrium has a lovely southwestern mo5/18 ..
bye alex
steph does that mean you got it
thnx cib but i cnt find the link
clues for ti 6/21 please?
or are you still gnashing your teeth
I finally got it from torgone's clue! Thanks!!
yw
ti6/21 - past tense of soft metal
http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /babbleclues.html
kkiln a canned tuna or a ti****** tuna
link to lickety
that was a torgone conclusion
here alex- http://licketysplitaus.googlepages.com /babbleclues.html
omg i cnt b bothered to type all that in!!!!!
past tense of a ti* can
cut and paste my dear :P
mymuse --- thanks...its that double letter again! Hits self over head.
ti* canned
alex under babble friends middle column select lickety's babble clues
its like 10 pm nd i cant even keep my eyes open yet alone type that in
im goin lol bye every1
cut and paste alex you just have to do it
alex - in middle column, under 'friends of babble' below grid - right click & open in new window - then you can have it side by side
you just have to do it in two stages cause only so much will copy
no sudoku - you do not need to copy & paste
you can copy and past the link in a browser helen
ok, but that's alot of work you don't need to do
hi there babblekids!
does anyone else here have trouble getting back to babble from lickety's? when i use lickety's and click on the back arrow it just stay's on lickety's , so then i have to click the X and close then window and reopen bablle
hiya fizzy!
and one last one which will probably give me a ti**** tuna...le 4/5 -- the first one....I have been monkeying it, but don't find it...I can hear myself so...so obvious!
chj I always open two browsers and go between the two
chj you have to open lickety's in a separate window
everyone enjoying the amusement park rides incident-free?
i don't know why you guys are doing that?!?!?! i don't know very much about computers & i don't really want to know - so i just do everything i can in the easiest possible way
chj, it's easier to have them open in 2 windows
le + abbreviation for sixty minutes
Hi Fiz!
yes- you have 2 windows - no need to close anything
i do 2 windows too. all the cool kids are doing it....
lol fiz
i dont know what that means..i just double click the link at the bottom..i do the same with babblers anon and have no problem getting back to babble with the back button
no chj - RIGHT CLICK - not double click
as helen stated earlier right clink the link and select open in new window
OPEN IN NEW WINDOW option
Stephie --- thanks....good clue! Fireworks for me.
what's the diff between licketys and babblers
chj, press control N, it'll open up a new window which you can keep lickety's in
Yeah Kkiln!!
then just hit the side-by-side icon on your toolbar
lickety's you can type in the answers to see what you're missing
Yay Kkiln!
yay kkiln!!!!!
lickety's has check-off boxes, otherwise pretty uch the same - both immensely helpful
*much*
lag-lag-lag arghhhh
no, i didnt mean whats the difference in content but why do they act differently when i doulbe click one as opposed to the other
Thank you all...you were a big help on that last leg!
one of those mysteries of modern technology, chj
how do you mean 'act differently'?
Some websites disable the "back" button ..
you know, helen, shakespeare vs. mamet
when the website doesnt allow you to press back, it's because the maker has written the code that way to keep you... annoying
Where do I find the side by side button?
to get to either, i have been double clicking the link..it takes me to both but when i want to get back to babble, the green back arrow in babblers does the trick while the green back arrow in licketys does nothing
helen, thanks for the tip to open a window for lickerty. tried it and its simple.
really Ciboulette
but its not disabled..its green not gray
are you web master? cause I need help...
lol fiz
yw oggy :)
hello. 119 to go.
hi harp!
hi harp, etc!
They insert a page which is the same page so that when you click "back" you come back to the same page ..
fine
doesnt matter if it's green chj, still disabled by the website's maker
stephie - do you have a grey toolbar at the top of your page? says things like 'file' 'edit' 'view' ?
hiya harp!
Yes
tsk tsk Zoki
fiz..like geoffrey rush said about almost everything in Shakespeare in Love.."It's a mystery."
my icons are way to the right of that toolbar
it's fine if you don't want to help... ;)
hi, all! I copy the list into (mac) simpletext (notepad on pc), and have a narrow window on the side...
thanks all..i think i now know how to do it
steph - do you see < > then a bunch of boxes?
hi zoki - none of us are the webmaster but what's your prob?
no
Well, its back to work guys
stephie - does your computer have windows?
lib - love the zipper - portable rides have that extra "you might die riding this" feeling...
yes
do you know how to make two windows on one page?
cause that's all we're doing here
bye lady
no
lol, fiz-- me too!
tr7/32 not easy to explain tr+not out+ same three letter end as di 7/36 in fact it rhymes with that
My "ride" is from Columbia Gardens in Butte, torn down in 1974 or so, to make room for the ever-expanding Berkely Pit.
stephie - what happens when you right click on lickety's list & choose 'open in new window' option?
the guy running the ride w/ 3 teeth & a coors in his hand?
i live in what might generously be called a "transitional neighborhood" and the upside is a flea market nearby that has carnival rides all summer. terrifying!
hi lib!
I used control n and have babble on my screen and lickety's at the bottom. How can i put them both on the screen?
hi, mymuse!
Not just the roller coaster, the entire amusement park was torn down and mined.
can someone help stephie from here, cause i think my roofer is here? thanks
steph move mouse to right click on lickety's babble clues
then select "open link in new window"
ick, harp. mine's still there and...well, if you're interested click and read.
there is no open in new window option
stephie are you mac or windows?
steph i just tried it and it works.
windows
waht version
windows xp
ok...scratch that idea...
when you right click what options come up
Stephie...try this...right click on a blank part of the bar at the bottom and click Tile Windows Vertically.
that worked!! thanks!
dont mean to belabor this, but im an old dog still learnin new tricks...when i right click licketys, i have a choice of opening a New Window or a New Tab..(I have Firefox)...if I open a New Window, i dont see any side by side buttons (im not sure what they are), but when i open a New Tab, there is a bar that shows both tabs and i can toggle back and forth between the two..should i be able to do the same with a New Window?
ooooh. love that, hithere, thanks!
i guess what im saying is whats the diff between a window and a tab?
if you are in a new window, I click the minimize button and then can resize it and have it side-by-side
if you are in a new window, I click the minimize button and then can resize it and have it side-by-side
firefox lets you cut down on the number of windows you open by offering tabs. I don't know if there's a way to look at tabs side by side...but if you open up separate windows you can use that "Tile Windows Vertically" thingy.
the tab is in the same window, so you can't look at both pages at the same time, opening in a new window should open it in it's own window, then you can move them and change their size and see both at once
*aside* hello, is this tech support? can you tell me what the heck these people are talking about?
ohh, i need the luddite hotline? thanks. do you have that number?
Sorry. Fiz. used to work in tech support. Guess old habits die hard.
fiz..are you in pakistan?
ummm, no chj, why?
no sweat hithere - i actually am learning a lot...about what i don't know.
most of my calls to tech support seem to wind up in pakistan
ad 6/30? ri 7/32 (first one)?
how do you change the size to see them both
wow, i love this...babble and lickets side by side..never knew what i was missin
ad - floating at sea
it kind of feels like it might be pakistan outside today - which means it's hot, as i imaging pakistan to be, despite knowing how high much of pakistan is.
ad 6/30 is what Christian did to his captain
ri - get ri* of the trash + ot4/4
minimize *(the middle icon on the upper right) then resize
oggy..with both windows open, right click at the bottom of the screen and select tile vertically or tile horizontally
Pakistan is the world leader in opium production, so they're pretty high ..
ah. tahnks stephiec
is that the stoner gallery ringing in? i remember psychedelic day in babbleland....
Oh wow . . . .
*********FIREWORKS**********
is that where the poppy seeds on my bagel come from?
Yeah Sha!
congrats sha!!
sha na na...
yay sha! chj - i don't know, ask tor - he seems to be our resident expert

Maybe it's Afghanistan .. I don't know . .
or should i say sha boom sha boom
Hooray sha!
no snickers are made in pa
thanx all : )
my monkey is tired - can you help with the last di4/5, the one before the old school copy machines?
so, who else feels like such a horrid person that they shouldn't be allowed to exist?
mike di*** without the k
di + short goodbye
di + a shortened way of saying bye-bye
nice coaster, fiz-- the old rickety wooden ones are the best!
lol chj just caught that
thanks all, phew! Hurshy, looks like you need a (((hug))) - what's up?
en 6/30?
I feel that way frequently hursh ..
my list shows that di4/5 as a 4/10 even through several refreshings of the computer
Afternoon, all. Hurshy?... Not going to go postal are you?
i can't explain what's up but, i'm just a very bad person that's all.
en 6/30 = en + what you do with your cloth after wash.
to wrap in ones arms, Steph
tr7/44 please the second one thanks
hurshy..whats the matter..sufferin from low self esteem?
thx lib! this one is not only old and rickety - it also straps you in with a hundred-year-old leather band....
last di6/24, anyone?
let's see...going postal involves homicide, does it not? there's no way i'd ever do that.
does it count as low self esteem if it's true?
and sometimes suicide as well
tr7: 3 + what you do with your cloth after wash?
tr7/44 bend a paper into three
a kind of German skirt, walnut
Wassamatter, Hurshy? Slagged off on the ironing? Served frozen instead of homemade? Cheated on your taxes?
chj, tried that and got it, the only thing being you can not chat as well
walnut - I don't know a 4 letter word for "leave in the basket until it's so wrinkly it's practically unwearable"
thanks
am 6/21, the first?
the best kind of ride--you realize your mortality...
Fiz: hahah. I had a friend who was sooo lazy, that he just left it in the dryer.
yes, but its great when you want to do some serious word finding
8 to go and I'll probably need a lot of help!
whoa chat going fast, thanks walnut and kms
come to think of it, when I was a bachelor...hm....
am6/21 plural of am5/12
talk to us stephie
hursh - anything we can do?
I've got that one, kms, thanks...it's the first one I need.
am + first vowel + what you pay on a bridge minus the last letter
am6/21: an explosive. I used onelook.com to find that one.
ah. Much better clue, stephiec
am 6 a highly explosive mixture
chj thanks for the lesson, im not that good, i always wait for my son and get him to show me.
btw, Fiz, is that what you do?
thanks, walnut and sha...what is onelook.com?
go 6/27?
my 1st time on the zipper I saw the guy actually take a bobby pin & stuckit into one of the connections that was missing a pin!
unfortunately i dont have any kids to show me how computer unsavvy i am
having the condition of being the word before it, steph
*looks shocked* Walnut, me? I'll have you know I look quite nice today. Ironed my outfit and everything...
silence is go-6-27
go6/27 - darn, I just missed that go6/27 opportunity to cap on Fiz about not fo4/7ing her cloth!
Hmm. Hurshy's not talking. Must be weighed down by guilt about something. Cleanse, Hurshy! Cleanse!
the zipper..wow..i missed that discussion..i was on the zipper on the jersey shore in seaside heights in 1976
I've got that one, it's the last one I need!
going now, nite all.
pretty intense, eh chj?
Night oggy!
bye oggy
nite oggy
nite, oggy!
Fiz. wow? seeing customers today? or have a wild night ahead? Thats one thing I love about being an engineer - i can be as wrinkly as I want cuz no one ever comes to bother me in my cubical!
Roller coasters? Uhg. I get nauseous just looking at them.
it's the closest i hope to get to a near-death experience.
lib...ill say.... i remember getting to the top andbeing hurtled straight twards the ground and coming within inches..scariest ride i was ever on
alright. last 2. help with the last 2 go's? they are the ones after that silly game involving white little balls with dimples on it!
big meeting walnut - i'm a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl at heart but i've got to clean up my act every now and again.
me too chj-- thought something had gone terribly wrong-- couldn't believe a ride could be so scary!

i remember they made you remove everything from your pockets and your glasses too
wal - Former VP Al ***e + female chicken(s)

thanks sha!

yw stephie
thanks torgone!!!!!
you have made my day.... That and knowing that Fiz leaves her cloth in the laundry basket until she's ready to wear em! (just kidding!)
4 more!
just the tshirts, socks, and undies, walnut - i'm actually kinda compulsive about what I like to call my "picture day clothes"
go stephi!
I'm still having trouble with am6/21, the highly explosive mix...any more clues?
that was more than i needed to know about the undies fiz
a + not pa + what you pay to cross a bridge minus the last letter
2 more!
am + first vowel + (I ***d you so!)
sorry, chj - at least they're clean. and on that note....i'm late for a meeting, but i've been having so much fun. see you all later, i hope!
Thank you, walnut!

anyone have the ag 4/7? I swear I monkey-typed every combination and it isn't there
byebye beebee
tr 7/32 - 3 + sounds like red fruit/vege (sortof)_
It's a weird word. Think lava without the "m".
Me, too, Nef. AG+not PA, but **
ag + another word for mother
mother of an ag
ren, ;)
the tr - the last part of the word is the first part of the red fruit/veg

that was for first di6/24
Bubba, we frown upon so much personal information being given out in a profile. You need to be careful with that.
the hardest di word is the di6/24 at the end: A full-skirted dress with a tight bodice and low neck, that is either sleeveless or has short full sleeves. google or use reverse dictionary for that
merci Fran
Just teasing.
firework for me to match the fireworks outside
Hi Annie. I was just about to say, 'I hope Stid is more up on spinning wheels than Annie!' LOL. But, hey, you got there in the end and all hail to you!
I have the skirt.... DI, that was the first one I found!

ironpixie, if you go to angelsong's resource page she has clues for a bunch of them.
YAY Sheryl!
Feather - I didn't find the German dress/skirt word hard to find at all. Mind you, there was a craze for them here in UK in the 60's. And we were nearer to Europe than you in those days.
hi pam!
Jacula, the dreaded spinning wheel, will never forget that word, but I got the skirt immediately. from my childhood.

I can tell I am tired... thanks puptone.
I love that expression, Jac!
my last word is apparently an F, but I don't know which one... I have filled my list... brb
sheryl, make sure you unplug it. the power supplies are 'always on' in these things unless they are unplugged....
I still have have 53 to go Jac but don't know what I need....thanks for the offer though
jac, you don't have much luck with those links, eh?
jac, did you try just the basic page? www.games.atari.com
jacula, go to http://games.atari.com/playgames and click scrabble.
That link has been a "bugger" before..it's easier to go to...yep..what feather just said
and Fran
Feather - yes, I did.
if you really want to try it, and can get to that page, check out the "community" section to see what bugs there are
Mind you, quotepuzzler won't let me in either.:-(
Hello Pam! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
missed the fireworks, but had apparently finished. reloading grayed my last letter.
have fun playing scrabble everyone
sometimes when i sign in, i then get a blank page. that's one of the bugs that hasn't been fixed apparently. what i do is hit my back button, hit refresh, then go forward again. that does it.
congrats!
hooray Stid!
congrats stid!
The English expressions..we were at the movies today, and the screen went blank for several minutes. Patrick yelled "pull your finger out!" I told him 1) that was a bit rude, and 2) no one would know what he was talking about here!
so now to fix dinner and help bake the pie (Tom is home -- he makes the crusts, I make the fillings), and then back to tell a story at 9 game time.
Stid - Kind of glad to hear it's not just me that has had the red messages and the unreponsive script thing for most of this week! I think Dr_G needs to look at the server & Firefox.
wtg Stid! I'm off too - my Tom is out tonight, but have much to do! See you all Friday!
*unresponsive
i get them as well with Explorer...
jac, i had that today a couple of times.
me too Jac I cant get to it either
i'm in the "syllable central" lounge
same here, Brandy..switch back and forth all the time
i'm using AOL Explorer and i get them
do we have a fourth player?
going now feather
Congratulations stidmama on your fireworks!Hooray!
i just have to close explorer and restart to clear it.
Hi!
i gotta go -see you all later :)
Min, see you at Scrabble.
Krista - An English person said, 'We were at the MOVIES today'?? We normally say the pictures, the pics, the fleapit. The movies isn't really a UK term these days.
That atari site doesn't work for me. one gives me the red screen followed by a blank screen after clicking play games, the other gives me forbidden....
BJ - You come in here through IE?
No, I'm american, hubby's the Limey
when you get the blank screen, try going back and refreshing
bye hk...enjoy your evening!
Patrick calls it "the pictures"
Yep. I peruse the backlog for clues and firefox just crawls into a hole and pulls it in after itself.
or see if this link works: http://games.atari.com/myGames.m
dinner break for me...back later tonight
I like "fleapit!"
Catch you later, Kristin
Krista,I am going to stay here and work on the grid, but thankyou for the Scrabble invite!Maybe someday
grabbing a snack, brb to play....
Yes, I do refresh the screen (that tells me there is an unresponsive script' but there are times when I've had to do so 11 times rather than 3 or 4. Also, when the annoying Antipodean child arrives we get an 'unexpected string' message. Most annoying!
It's okay, Min. :)
Kirsta - the pictures. That'd be right! I just knew he wouldn't call it 'the movies'. Ask him about the fleapit thing though!
di 7 please?
*Krista. Sorry!
He said he never heard fleapit, Jac..he's been here 7 years now; is it relatively new?
di6/24 plural
di7, Cathyar is a plural of di6/24 that rhymes with part of a spinning wheel.
close enough on the name, Jac :) I've been called worse.
don't have the 6/24 either :(
Krista - No. It's an old term from the 50s-70s.
oh kreeeeesta! lol
Hi everyone!
hi stidmatt!
hi stidmatt!
hi, stidmatt
funny he never heard that one, then...up oh, I'm being paged....
What is the theme for today?
Hi! stidmatt! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

But it should be behaving now.
Hi Matt. You are in the grid today.
found the di7 finally...ty
Hi Jacula!
Sorry, Cath, but you got there in the end.
missing one of the first fi4/8 - have dog, seek and ye shall fi**, what am I missing
Peri - you know the dog? Then take his ring away and add a curly thing.
f + subconcious + plural
jac, it rhymes with baby goats
Sounds like a lot of short violinists in text speak terms.

What is the theme for today?
LOL, Harp. Wonder if you've had as many of those as me today?
the last two di6/24's please?
Peri - you are wiser than me then!
Cath - di6/24 - 'I get too hungry for di*** at 8' (Lady and the Tramp') - change the last consonant to past tense.
ty jacula
di6/24 - 2nd one - German skirt/dress. Popilar UK princess (now deceased) plus a consonant that sounds like a plural possessive + what don't starts with + what liter/re starts with.
*popular
ma5/16 and ma7/32 please
Peri - ma5/16 - a fly's first stage - without the middle consonant.
ma7/32 = The Latin church service with doubled middle consonants.
Jacula, have no idea what you are talking about :)
found the ma7 before I saw your clue Jacula
second tr 7/44 clue please?

Peri - a fly lays eggs which hatch into . wich fishermean then use as bait.

Dorens - you know that spinning wheel word for the di7? It's the same ending again.
mo5/18
Peri - fat, white, wriggly things with a couple of black hooks at the head end. They are often to be found were decay8ing food or meat is.
Jac, thanks so much, that descriptive clue did it for me
Peri - mo5/18 - a recurring theme that is often used in embroidery, knitting, music and more.
can't believe my last word was the 8....
fireworks, then, brandy?
yep, finally...

definitely some wierd words in there today. I've seen a lot of the words we encounter in here, but todays were strange indeed....
thanks pam and Jac, got it now
congrats, lbetter
congrats, lb
tks
Peri - sounds like what the police and lawyers were looking for to see the reason WHY the murder did it.
BJ - have you finished the grid?
jacula i think i have the spinning wheel rhyme..that's the 7/32-- u an kiijubg fir tge secibd 7.44?
missing an mo4/6 in the middle
oh sorry - it's dark in here and i wasn't looking. I am looking for the secod 7/44
dorens????
they sure are brandyjack. I hav'nt had much luck.
LOL, know that typing feeling...
it is making me laugh looking at it...
Dorens - is that a do7/44?
did any of you see Hurshy this evening? She seemed mighty upset about 4 hrs ago...
so i need the tr 7/44 the second one. and then the last tr7/32 cause my son is waiting for me to play the real boggle...he doesn't understand why i am here instead of at the table
6 to go , I need encouragement here
woo hoo, peri!!!!!

*puts hand in the middle - raises with swooping gesture* gooOOOOO PERI!
Fiz - No, I wasn't here then. What's upset Hursh then? Anyone know?
thanks Dorens and pam, still need a mo4/6 and thanks Fiz
brandy--could it be one that "prefers' Netscape?
there are a couple of them peri
BJ - ditto, re the atari site. Same thing's happened to me re the quotepuzzler site. About half a dozen spams a day. GRRR!
don't know - she asked if anyone ever felt like a horrible person, then when someone said something about having a low-self-esteem moment, she asked if it was low self esteem if it was true. and then no more chatty.
can i please have clues for those tr's?
re mo4 have what you put jello in and abbrev for new and updated
I tried to get into the scrabble site and all I got was a red screen
Is realboggle better than weboggle? Do they refrain from using cheat programmes on there?
What is the theme for today, I was requested to eat (Even though I would have preferred Babbling!).
Ah! Just read again. The board game.
he has the old game where we rattle the letter cubes and he is settingit up now
hi matt! amusement park rides - click mine!
Always best! Anyone for Cluedo or Synergy?
ahh. love that boggle sound - sends shivers up and down my spine....
which we played when he was a kid---don't know if i'll enjoy it now tho
found the mo4/6
Matt - for me, in UK, the theme is now butterflies. However, where you are, it is amusement park rides.
so once more please clue me he last tr7?
need 5 i words toa finish,
go peri, go!
And everyone else trying to complete the grid...
bbl---have to play now
tx!
Dorens - the tr7 was a car my MD had back in the 70s. LOL.
It is changed.
last id4/5 please
have fun dorens!
Seriously, Dorens, first part of word is 3 letter word for three....then go to a to4 word for a big book and change the last vowel. Failing that, use the first 3 letters of StidMama's hubbys name and then add the 1st vowel in the vowel list.
found it and I have FIREWORKS, Thanks for the clues and the encouragement!
Yay, peri!!!! Congrtats
Yay, peri!!!! Congrtats
Yay Peri! Good work!
WTG PERI!!! ~~~!!!~~~!!!~~~
Peri - think of the TV show for would be singers, Pop Id**
Jac--nice clue, thanks, But that is one weird word
Jacula, got it that was my last word
Well done, Peri!
Pam - glad you got that word from my clues.
Hello, again wordniks. Last word doth vex me.
see you all tomorrow
Clue for Se7/28??
fireworks! and it was ugly getting there! Hi everyone
Judi - do you mean se7/48?
yay lbd! *reaches out desperate hand to be dragged from ugly - 48 to go!*
If so, one's own kingly domain?
WTG LBD!!!~~~!!!~!~!~!~!!
Yes, Jacula. Just can't type (or see or read).
ok...i've 53 left, but too tired to go on...nite all
Se4/7 plus that woman in the leathers with the whip!
Hi Fiz well, it wouldn't have been as ugly if i'd been able to work on it without interruptions, but there are some unusual words again
How do you play this game?
*blushing at jac's clue*
ahhhh, Jac conjures up an image....
Fiz - I don not believe THAT!
Smashing! Fireworks! *Doing happy dance*
If you got the clue, then you should not be blushing.
LOL
YAY Judi!
jacs let me maintain a veneer of respectability, please!
Fiz, did the storm end, did you get to your meeting?
yay, finishers!!!!
Hi Mom!
helloooooooooooooooooooooo
Okay Fiz. LOL Pam.
Well, I'd love to bask in the glory, but the cat wants to play. I'd better go before he draws blood.
hello stidmatt!
hi nascar - look at the grid, and try to make words of 4 or more letters by following adjacent letter tiles.
TheFiz - Is it like the game boggle?
stidmama, power went out, storm ended, i went home.
krista?
Nascar - yes, sort of like the devilbaby of Scrabble and Boggle
so no meeting? oh well. I am glad you are home safely.
Fiz - Oh Thank You
nascar - see Angelsong's site, link at bottom of page.
Oh dear! What has the world come to when a mother (StidMama) is talking to her son in same house but in another room)? No, I dare not laught at that. I've received both e-mails and texts from my own kids (just upstairs) for drinks or errands. AAAARRRGH!
They tell me they just do it for the comedy value. Yea, right.
yw nascar. stidmama, by the time i felt like it was safe to continue driving i was so late, and the power was out in the whole area, so i thought i'd do better just to come home.
well, if Tom or stidgrant wanted to, they could log in from the other computer as well.... LOL it's just as simple
krista?
jacula - my Sig. Other and i are sitting on the bed next to each other on our 2 laptops. could potentially be texting instead of talking...
but when my mother is on (stidgmere) she is at her home, a few miles away... :-)
Fiz - same here at times.
LOL Fiz! that is too funny! *visions of people IMing next to each other...*
Angelsong - thanks too I looked at the page.
StidMam - I wasn't taking a knock at you! I was just reflecting these IT times.
the bedroom is the only place in the house with ac - we
Actually, me and my OH are sometimes only a couple of feet apart, him on the laptop and me on the pc. It's kinda fun to IM each other at times!:-)
I know Jac! It's just funny to think about how times HAVE changed. In so many ways except one. When I ask my child who is in the room with me to tell his brother to come to dinner -- and he hollers to the back of the house from right next to me *crossed eyes*
oops! we've been in self-imposed isolation for 2 days. the 2 cats and the two of us. starting to smell funny in here...
fiz - send other an i love you message - wouldn't that be sweet?
she's checking an evite for a party right now - in a minute. (i could just say it...)
*relieved that the smell wasn't coming from me*
any AM clues?
stidmama - were you using my catbox?
the first AM 6/21 sounds like a funny medicine for belly pain to me: AM + a tropical reef-turned island less the last L
the def for that AM 6/21 is actually "A highly explosive mixture of ammonium nitrate and trinitrotoluene"
am5/12 is a+ a little burrowing creature and plural
If anyone uses my cat litter tray would they please sweep up after them re the floors around? My cats never do.
sorry, stidmama, that clue with tropical reef--WAAAAY over my head
*ducks for potential explosion*
ty all
okay, 25 minutes to storytime. I am going to walk around and play with the dogs a bit.
in6/30?
omg, exploding litter boxes!
pam -- AM + vowel + a fee you pay to use a road less the last L
*ducks*
small coral isands. Bimini is one...
i'm going to have to pass on story time tonight - OH and i have a date for face-to-face this evening.
Bikini - I think BJ meant.
don't forget Bikini, BJ!
mula rowa ***** was blown up by a french nuclear test
He just got confuddled by the tiny swimwear images.
please, in6/30?
wooo, hoo---got that freakin' am!
wooo, hoo---got that freakin' am!
I was looking for a teeny, weeny, yellow polka dot one for my hols. Didn't succeed in finding one though. GRR!
THANKS
yay pam!
fl/5?
in6/30 - in + an fo4 that you do with ironed laundry or paper.
in 6 = in + a brand of pineapple start with the 4th letter of the alphabet...
got that one, Jac, just 83 to go, lol!
rhymes with the ro4/4
thx. jacs, i was getting teased around that one earlier b/c i don't fo4 my laundry in a timely fashion. forgot, thx.
gotta run - it's "date time" - you're all fabulous but you can't compare!
also...in + do4/5
fl5. Susan, is an anagram of wht a boat does when it stays up on water.
thank you cathyar and jacula!
Fiz - good for you!
fl5t--another stupidhead word!
Go well and prosper!
OK, brandy, you are spot on--WEIRD, WEIRD words
i STILL need that last di6...it's beyond me. tried to go to bed, but dog had to pee so thought i'd return
it's a German skirt, Cathyar
that last di6 would finish off my d's ! pls?
pam - fi5/16 is the plural of that word that sounds like grren ferny bracken.
di 6 is a German dress, worn by Maria in the sound of Music
or a hillbilly might say 'd***!' then repeat your first letter and add another consonant
thanks, jac, got it
when i google "german skirt" i get the word kittel.
there ae 3 di 6. Did I clue the right one?
sounds likewhat you do to socks if they've got a hole, plus farmer in the *el*
Try German DRESS.
i'm looking for the last of the 3 inge...
cathy, di6, the one before soil, is like what you do with socks to fix them, change vowel to 3rd vowel add digital signal lan, take out signal
di6 - much-loved but decaceasedfwife of Prince Charles + Royal Navy + 12th letter of the alphabet.
*deceased
inge, i didn't know that's what it meant! a full skirt with a gathered waistband!
the third one gets all these clues, Jaculas breakdown of the word should work for you
Oh , and add another 5th letterof the alphabet before the 12th one in there.
*imagines cathy counting out the alphabet* lol
And you don't do it, too, lbd?
That dress also has a tight upper part, under which a blouse is worn, or has puffed sleeves
okay, ten more minutes to story time. Pie is in the oven (slipped a few raspberries in with the blackberries) and it smells really good!
man...i just can't get it...what's wrong with me??? whaaaaahh!!!
I know feel the urge to go up into the mountains in Saltzburg and Start singing 'Climb Every Mountain'. LOL.
how about rhymes with firndl?
sheesh...finally googled it and had to go to a site to find the danged word!!! first i ever heard of it! thanks for the patience everyone on that!
di + *oyal * + *avy plus fourth letter and stick letter+
AT LAST!
keep forgetting german words have very few vowels
i was about to give you directions for the letters there cathy
Well done!
tks again guys
ta da!
le4/5? The first one I think..
*embarrassed*
German words, just like Welsh words, go mad and describe whole areas without a break!
will never forget THAT word again! (hopefully)
susan-v it's a town in ND. 58460
they just dont break up compound nouns, and string 5 or six together, We used to play that in fifth grade while waiting for our teacher
'The place under the bridge where the factory is', 'The Bridge under The White Elm, wher the stream flows softly to the faactory'.
Okay! Back gain now.
In 5 minutes it is our favorite time of the day!
hi everyone! back to finish...
HI TO.
Hi TO!
whoo hoo, story time! but i may have to miss some of it...other obligations...:-(
Just need to make some toast afore sleeping.
brb
thanks dawger! Got it.
yw SV
Oh, well, even if you do miss some of it, you still can see it on Babbler's Anonymous!
and thank goodness for that! I'd be a whimpering whiney taz without a back up! :)
I always reread the story in Babanon, to get the gist without all the clues etc.
Hi StidMatt! How goes?
I am here. Happy Wednesday evening, all!
hi stid!
REE-mon, man! I sent you an email with the tracking # for your present...
Hi - just got back from library and shopping and packing away frozen and fridge things - ready for storytime with my vodka and veggie chips :-)
hi temple owl!
Hi Stid!
Jill! *shocked look* don't you need protein to go with your condiments?
Hi stid
HI RIEMANN!!!
that comes later, stid!
HI MOM!
Hi StidMama! Hmm... no email yet....
How is it going?
matt came for story time too! i KNOW i won't be able to stay awake for the whole thing...too many nites with too little sleep
hi all the stidfamily
I sent it to your office email -- it was the first one I came to when I was looking. :-)
Cathy, you could just go to sleep, and read the chapter tomorrow...
and hi all the babblefamily too!
okay okay okay... storytime. Let's see.
that's what i've been doing...saving the logs daily or have you been posting it somewhere ?
I am under orders to continue the story and stop introducing characters...
lol
Hey, Riemann, could you explain Calculus to me a little in an E-mail, sort of how it works? I saw a show about Newton and Calculus, so I have learned a little bit about it.
check Babblers Anonymous under "Other Interests" cathy! I try to make minor corrections and do a little editing.
LOL stidmatt is an optimist... and riemann is just the man to meet his expectations!
may ia have aclue or two before sotry time begins? like di6/24 and 7/36? and the eight letter TY! word?
riemann, please include me in the calculus lesson!
*ah* Trying to sneak an email past me when I'm not at work, eh? The package is in Helena and the sled dog is making good time.
makes for a longer story that way though...more endings for many charachters to make up...ok stidmama...that's gonna save space on my harddrive too...getting a little low
cath - you have an antique computer?
Yup! Now, the clue... I di 5/14 with the queen, and another N in the word.
Calculus. Hmm.. Not easy, but I'll work on it.
Stidmama - whilst I can read the stories on the chat log, I much prefer to do it without log interruptions. BabAnon is best for me.
no...well...kinda...8 yrs old...and a son with too many games on it.
TX!
*giggle* well, the muffins were NOT bricks when I sent them off, they should make good hockey pucks for your front yard this winter!
that's what i plan to do now
mo5/18?
8 yrs is antique for puters!
LOL Stidmama!
babanon
ya...two hard drives tho jill

jili - 2 years in antique for computers! Get real! LOL
Okay, I am quitting the chatting.
Cathy, may I use your name for the auntie who lives next door?
jacula -- tell cathyar about it! 2 hard drives or not!
lol...sure!!! I'm honoured!!!! :) :)
jac - help! I think my puter is 2 now!!!!
As the auntie looked out her window that night, she was perplexed. She knew that her nephew was home with his family for a visit, she had seen his cart briefly in front of the house as she had fixed dinner.
just a mo -- need refill...
But the man on the porch was not her nephew -- and was sitting too close to her sister to be a stranger.
*settles in sans blankie with babblefriends for storytime...bottle o beer in hand (Labbatts Blue)*
Quietly, she moved away from the window and took tea to her parents, who were sitting by the fire in the front room.
Jilli - not sure how I CAN help you! Mustbe offfin amin or two.
*that would put me sound to sleep Cath--beer*
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
A black and tan cat with a white chest lolled on her mother's lap, purring louder than the clock on the mantel could tick.
just to enjoy the story with...since i'm the auntie...i must stay and see who's the guy on my porch ;)
Greetings, snobocrats
Thanks for the bedtime story, Stid\Mam. Will read it properly, later on BabAnon.xxx
Her father's head was back against the pillows on his chair and he snored softly, his hand resting gently on the open book in his lap.
later Jacula, sweet dreams.
that wasn't nice byzan
later Jac
Hello Byzantine! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle!
night, jacs!
*Bye Jac.* said in a whisper!
called us snobocrats!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzonk
nite, jacula - a demain
I am, as usual, puzzled by the puzzle.
nite jacs
The auntie set the tea service on the table by her mother, smiled, and walked to the window to pull the curtains shut.
yes, byzantine, it's byzantine
Then, she walked out on the porch.
Goodbye Jacula! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
And she looked at the little front yard with the white flowers still reflecting a bit of light.
*whispers* hi minver!
She looked across at the park, shades of dark on dark, still and mysterious in the gathering evening.
*hi minver!*
t-owl...hey ya girl!
*tries to quietly leave storytime...night everyone. thanks Stidmama! ready you at Babanon*
*whispers* hi rennyfeld!
*settle down for storytime, everybody!
The auntie stepped off her porch and walked resolutely to the gate that connected the yard to her sister's.
*cu lbd*
Whispering back*Hi all!Don't want to interrupt story*
*smiles at everyone and picks up teacup*
I only have 182 to go
night, dawg
*still wondering who the guy was on the porch*
LOL Byzantine
*aren't we all!
At the sound of the gate latch opening, the woman and the man turned, then stood up.
"Cathy!" the woman exclaimed, "Come and see who's here!"
* whipsers *lol by! hi shorty...
Hi T Owl
As the two sisters embraced, Cathy looked quizzically at the man, then turned pale.
*oooh!
*looks closely at the man *
The man, standing with his hat in his hands, partly in shadow, was nevertheless recognizable.
She took a step back, and looked from her sister to the man and back again.
who is it??
Her sister smiled broadly, and drew her forward.
"Cathy, he's home. He's really here."
And the man held out a hand shyly.
*whipsers excitedly* baabs ...hiya!
*whispers* hiya!
Through the window, a giggle of excitement, and a rustling behind the drapes betrayed the presence of several teenage girls.
WHO IS IT DANGIT?????
lol
bet it's absent daddy -- ?
Cathy grasped the familiar hand, and looked earnestly into the man's eyes. "Where," she began, and finished, "Why didn't you write?"
yep
*exasperated sigh* Did NONE of you read chapter two? (or was it chapter three)
would be just like the men in my life ;) lol
lol
sorry - got a bit mixed up with generations I guess!
tell us again, stid, pleeeeease
"Paul," she continued, "we waited so long -- we had given up hope!"
i recall him from chapter one myself!!!
pauvre cathyar
"Gilly -- how long were you going to keep this? How long has he been here?"
didn't know his name was Paul
The three middle girls trooped out onto the porch and ringed the adults in a hug.
sheesh! in my recollection he ain't MY hubby in the story! looks like someone the auntie was once fond of tho... *hopes auntie wasn't messin around with Paul long ago* ;) sorry mama...i'm convoluting your story...i'll stop and just read
Gilly? I must have missed a chapter *resolves to catch up in babanon
me too...i don't remember gilly either
I thought her name would be Gillian or something! cool1
(Cathy, this auntie is the one who never married. Jill -- I decided it was time to give our characters names... first time these names have been seen in the story)
babs - is Gillian cool? It's my name ;-)
I guessed at Gillian. *proud*
it's proper cool, jillibus! lovely name! : )
*recollects brain from teapot and resumes story*
glad they have names now -- easier to follow - how about a Darmatis Personae in BabAnon?
*Dramatis
it all makes sense to me-- I pay attention! (polishing halo)
please continue stidmama... *funny..i've never married either, tho always wanted to be that kinda loved by someone if it's possible*
ty, babs, but problems with it -- later
**even ignoring last 38 words to hear story**
Gilly drew Cathy to sit on one side of her and Paul on the other. "He got home just before supper, Cathy, we were going to tell you in the morning."
oh {{{{{{cathyar}}}}}}}} of course it's possible!
Cathy looked around, "Did he come home with John and Anna? I thought I saw their cart earlier."
75 to go here but the hell with it
*loves the hugs from babble friends but wants no pitty pls* {{{{hugs}}}bk to jilli
i want the pitty
John poked his head out the door, "No Auntie, we met him at the front gate as we arrived! Anna wants to know how many for tea, and how many for warm milk?"
*pity*
*no pity for you Cathy, you're too strong and capable a woman for that*
right
He pulled his sisters back inside to help serve the tea and it was quiet on the porch.
nor pitty! :D
ty stid mama...don't wanna stop the story pls...
Cathy shook her head slowly. Ten years was a long time, and in a village like theirs, this news was going to set off a string of visits.
*yay...company's comin*
*where is this village? Babbleland?
Gilly caught her hand and squeezed it, "He was in town this morning, and saw the twins at the market. He gave them his cart..."
Paul looked uncomfortable and stood up, pretending to adjust the lamp.
could have been anywhere...back when carts were the mode of transport
"And I found him at the Inn. He wasn't going to come home, Cathy --"
uh-oh...what's up with paul?
why not?
Cathy gasped. "Not come home? That's absurd!"
ok, I was on track with his identity -- I think....
, she asks
*stid mama puts it so much more eloquently* lol
She was always a practical woman, and to her it made no sense. She, for her part, had never left home and the comforting life of family and friends.
ah, now we may get an explanation of why he was Gone
all part of an enthralling story ain't it? waiting for the "truth"?
Anna stepped out onto the porch with a tray in her hands and her little boy carrying spoons and napkins behind. She set it on the side table and smiled at Cathy, who gratefully accepted a kiss from her great-nephew.
that's the best bit
*awww...nuthin better n hugs n kisses from loved ones*
"Father," she said, "John would like you to look again at our mare's hock. That cut started bleeding again."
and nobody asking for clues!
Paul shot her a grateful look and excused himself.
Anna and her son retreated to the bright warmth of the kitchen. Cathy sighed as Gilly poured out tea -- a dash of cream for Cathy, a touch of honey for herself.
*sheesh...i'm OLD...GREAT-nephew* ;0....
obviously not Brits, who have milk or lemon it tea, and not honey...
*teasin ya stid...s'ok if ya make me 80*
*in
"I don't know what to tell Mother and Father," began Gilly, " -- it's a shock still to me."
*forgot...parents still alive...can't be 80*
cath - watchit -- see my profile!
sorry jill *sheepish*
*chuckle -- no prob
Cathy gathered her wool jacket a little closer, and sipped her tea thoughtfully.
i'm halfway there tho! ;)
(40)
*rubbing it in* yucky tea with cream and honey
I don't fully trust Paul-- he DID disappear for 10 years...
ya...parent's might be a little ticked don't ya think?
Gilly sighed and looked around, reaching absently to pinch back a spent blossom from the potted plant on the table.
too right, lib...
Gilly's hair was starting to escape it's ribbons again, and Cathy protectively pulled a strand back from her eyes.
go on, stid - what was Cathy being tthoughtful about???
*loves the warm n cozy family feeling in this story*
"Father is already asleep. You know how he is in the evenings these days... after a good meal in front of a warm fire. I can talk to Mother this evening as we do the dishes. But -- what happened, Gilly? What DO I tell her?"
Hey Babblers - I'm looking for my last word - ga 5/14 - any clues, please?
An owl hooted, and a horse whuffed noisely as a cart passed in the street.

Hi Minver! I'm good. How are you?

gfy susan
Cathy was silent, thinking about the days she and Gilly had pored over the letter, searching for any clue as to how long it had traveled, and from where.
I have 75 to go - hopeless. Busy day
*perhaps he had amnesia or something*
go Susan go!
go stid go on!!!!
(sneaks in at the most exciting part, wishes she was here earlier)
"Turns out, he had sent the letter only two months after he left. Then when he reached the end of the river and learned about an opportunity on the other side of the sea, he wrote another."
"We never saw that letter though... " Gilly trailed off, and a tear fell on her hand.
BabAnon for many of us it seems
The tea was sitting in the teacups, growing cold.
Paul's voice sounded in the kitchen, hearty and filled with laughter. The children roared appreciatively at the joke.
*wonders...was paul lying in the 2nd letter?*
Cathy put her arm around Gilly.
(sorry...mistrust showing)
any help on the ti 6/18 and to 6/21?
*trys to squeez in
Gilly reached for her handkerchief and dabbed at her nose.

"I guess when he finally got here, he realized how much had changed -- the twins didn't even recognize him. And he was afraid."
(whispers...i tried to get the chat log, and firefox froze up on me. darn it!)
*poor paul...does he deserve the pity tho?*
*laughts at feather
Gilly shrugged her shoulders and reached for her teacup. She sipped reflectively at the cold tea, not seeming to notice.
*sticks tongue out at jmsmo*
*feather u want to trad houses i'm freazing
Cathy looked around and caught Paul's eye as he came out onto the porch again. "Walk me home, please, I must get the dishes done and help get Father to bed."

Cathy and Paul walked to the gate and waited until Gilly had carried the tea tray inside.

ri7+ri+4th letter+ot4/4
in 5: If you take the in 6 immediately after it, just drop the last letter. Hint for the in 6: the last 4 letters are the name of a company specializing in fruit.

"Paul, you grew up with us, and you know you are always part of this family. I don't know why you disappeared for so long, but I do know that Gilly is happier than she has been since she saw you hitch your donkey to that cart."
Paul shuffled uncomfortably, but stayed silent.
"Whatever took you away, and whatever brought you back, you are here now."

"I will tell Mother and Father in the morning. We will expect to see you all for tea in the afternoon -- Father has been getting older, but I believe this will be good for him. He has missed you.
*benn swinming from 8:30 to 10
se6/18 - sound like the counterpart to the House of Representatives.
She gave him a quick hug and walked through the gate, shutting it firmly behind herself.
parents are also close with paul...lucky for him!!!
Thank you chj! And thanks to Inge for earlier clue! And Dianne!
"We have all missed you."

Victoria is on the Island just off the coast of B.C., it's the capital of B.C.
here's me and my 5 words
chj, I can answer that. Victoria is on Vancouver Island, off the coast of British Columbia. It's at the bottom end. Where I live is on an island between Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Confusing?
hi ren!
di6-24 (the later one)?
miller, it's a type of skirt
hey fran!..sideways
but its a separate city from vancouver right?
the very last one is a German skirt, Miller
Yes. Much nicer than Vancouver.

Better weather.
german skirt? hmmmm

Best weather in Canada, listed recently by a U.S. source as the best place in N.A. to retire to
i'm heading out now too
chj, yes, it's not in the same place at all. The city of Vancouver, BC is on the mainland. Victoria is on the island called Vancouver Island, off the west coast.

not scary -- lovley! Friends everywhere, all the time...
*yourself or
who said banshee?
fiz! :)
speak of the devil, renfield...
I said banshee. Responding to Fiz' comment
I mean, we're not leaning on you or anything, susan - vic ;-)
ok - thought i was in the wrong game....
but just think of the cute butterfly you could have instead of that nasty gray male profile
I see from the recent chat that we've seduced a few more devotees--even a few banshees, and some beautiful horses to boot. Great news.
It looks just like me! Only less wrinkled and ugly.
hi there hetty
brb, going to flutter out a butterfly
hi hetty!
susan..are you going pro? did i miss somethign besides a clue?
I saw your pic in your blog, susan -- not at all wrinkled and ugly -- a dark-haired beauty!
Hi debb. Hi all. I finishesa while ago and just came by to see how you were all doing without me. Any clues needed?
jili, you're too kind.
Hi Hetty! been meaning to thank you for the book recommendation -- will order it but haven't had much time for reading -- too much babbling - lol!

ed 6?
Nef - did that mystery come from me? It was meant to be a hug because of your nasty cold -- {{{{Nef}}}}
the person who ed4's
mucho gracias chj
and the di6/24 is either a kind of skirt worn by a Swiss or Austrian girl or a word that means driven into you --looks like your dinner but isn't it
wuchos welcomes

Nef, did you understand my clues?

the last di6/24, is a german dress, sounds like a jewish toy, and has four consonants in a row.
we can work it on out
now, cmon baby
twist and shout

the3 di6/24 is a skirt rather than a dress and is word by gals in the alpine regions --female equivalent of lederhosen

he looks better now than he did 20 years ago
oh, you'll put them on the blog?
he is a goreous man
Nef, that di/6 is not the last one..the skirt is the last one. I think you're looking for one that comes after the process of eating and before noises.
nrk did you see the blurb in the arts section of todays times about the three tenore ..er i mean authors
if folks don't want the HP spoilers, I could just put them on the blog, but if anyone wants them now...

Jai, I'm so sorry for your loss. Welcome back, and I hope you find comfort here.
go 6/27 is former VP Al GO*e + female chicken, then plural
