woot!! got the 12. now i can die happy
yay ramix!
(but please don't die)
Don't, ramix. Don't want to have to miss you! A6/21 is A6/21, of course, of course...
that is one odd word - thanks sprite
gosh...now u have me scratching my head!
I need to come up for a breath of air
I can't see the ge 12 to save my life
It is a fast grid, if that is any consolation. Passed the 100 mark in less than half an hour.
Sam: Co12. Builds on a Ge8/50
i passed 24 in less than a 1/2 hour
go debb!
Ooooooohhhhhhhh. Well, that's *kind of* a real word . . . thank you
The other 10 is Ga10/84. If a famous fashion label was made mineral, it would be called this.
What?!?!
It's too early for more than cryptic clues, I think ;)
Never too early.
Never too late
i have my icon
That wasn't even a clue, that was a non sequitor!
gets
sorry again
That was a riddle from LotR, wasn't it?
i reserve the right to change my icon if i find something that tickles me fancy

One of the really nasty ones that wassisname tried to trick Frodo with?
oh no - there goes ramix again ! we want you to stay !!
wont die till i get that A6 though
LOL! It could easily have been from LotR indeed. Ramix, keep breathing and I will drop an occasion clue ;)
oh...my...Grid...
*adding to A6 clue: the clue is a song...*
Oh dear. First Lickety's package. Now Ho7/32. *goes for another cold shower)
***frantically trying to get the ho7***
wooohhhh!!!!!, got the ge10/84!!!
WTG Colhad!
I just realized that I've entered the ho 7 without bothering to enter the ho 4 it's built from. That's a danger with the big grids . . .
And don't forget the ho5 there... ;)
oh ha
Indeed. Thank you.
heh
no not clues...just got the ho and it made me giggle
I had something similar. There is this other sequence of ho: Ho4/5, 5/12, 6/21, 7/32.
hi all - woohoo! only have 5 words so far, including the co12!!!
sprite did u find the ho 6/27?

I'm only 118 in but I'm intimidated and my ISP is being bratty. I think I'm out of here for the time being. Good night y'all.

cybernan, think fructisse

*waves* *poof*
nite samantha
no bells, ramix -- fructisse?
shampoo
are we talking, American, US, Italian?
the shampoo that SJP does the ads for...
ameican shampoo
no idea!
carrie bradshaw
tinies should be allowed!
i agree atalante - i've tried it 3 times already
change last letter, Ata.
I'll come up with it eventually -- I'm sure the clues are wonderful, but I seldom watch TV and I have been using the same shampoo for the last 30 years and don't pay attention to anything else!
I've tried it too!
A8/40: my behind when the day is done
good morning - what a grid! i started putting in words before i realised and now i see there is a 12 letter word!!
thnx sprite
MVA, it is one of the best grids ever.
lol sprite...you are so good at the cryptic clues. you make them so easy!!!
ramix, I think your mind and mine work somewhat the same :)
lol...i'll take that as a compliment
LOL!
just got back from ER - sprite, have you got the 12-letter word?
Sure jilli!
thought you would have!
I am going faster than ever. It is such a rewarding grid!
whizzing right along, eh sprite! Not me
phantom - cognoscenti
dang. thought i got the a6/21. no such luck. got the a6/18 instead
ramix: a + steed
me too, go the 6/18 instead as well!

eras
hi there melon
oops!
hi sapph
hi arb - guess I missed your arrival
hi MVA too
hi melon - sounds like a great evening
Been here for a while -- hitting a wall at 139
hi jill, got to go now, happy babbing all. will be back later
hi debb & arb. ARB, did i tell you about hearing the Israel Phil here in Cleveland a year or two ago - I was sobbing into my coat sleeve they were so wonderful.
ge10, wots the others stats?
hitting the wall at 129
Melon, we have had a subscripion for over 30 years. In Dec there will be a special series for their 70th anniversary. Every one, but every good musician will be here. It's to die for. Enjoyed their 50th and their 60th anniversaries.
oooooh, wish i could be there! unfortunately i get to have all the fun (hysterectomy)
My sympathies. I will enjoy it double for you
oh dear, melon! When is this happening?
oh melon, my spympathies too
got the 12!
good for you, getting the 12! I'm still trying
in december - preventative. my daughter will be staying with me. from all i hear, i should not make any big plans for about 6 weeks after. lots of time to babble, eh?
if you got one of the 10s youcan get the 12, believe me.
melon i did it a while ago. 6 weeks was good. my mom went back to work in 3. good luck to you
((((((((melon))))))))))
slug of vision words again
no 10s here yet - just the a8. I'm no good at big words
hai jillibus whats that thing flying in your icon?
just don't eat any beans or cabbage for a while after, melon!
or broccoli!
Click on the icon, manjari
whoooo got the longest top 3 words...friends
thank you cybernan, i learned thatafter my c section - also cabbage and its rellies make nursing babies very very very unhappy ;)
good for you, manjari!
jilibus, i think she means your pic is a clue for a 10 letter word
yes i clicked jill ... is that of ur interest in some way...
mebbe not...kinda looks like one though
don't know what you mean, manjari - it was yesterday's theme - flight.
oh no ramix...i was just checking all icons... and was wonderin what would have made jilli choose that plane?
the explanation is in the profile
got my icon on theme .... long may she re 5/14 :)
jilibus, kinda looks like a power turbine...which is a clue
nan - i am really looking forward to seeing helen mirren do her! going this weekend
oh ok ...just curious to know jilli...by the way did u get the two 10 letter words...maybe i can clue you...
cybernan, i just got back from the balloon fiesta, saw lots of balloons. awesome sight.
ramix that was a good clue...
no, haven't got the 10s, and turbines don't turn me on! Guess I'm just too sleepy at this hour
yes, I think it should be good, helen --- I wonder how Her Majesty feels about it?!
nan - i bet she's keeping a stiff upper lip - lol
good clue/icon, nan, and I'd like to see the helen mirren version too. Bet it's great!
hit a wall at 210. maybe i shd call it a night and continue tomorrow
interestingly, Helen Mirren says that during the filming she grew to love the Queen. Says it all :P
ata - what's that? not all brits love the queen??
not the anti-royalty brigade!
ata - is that a large brigade, or a smallish one?
although the word 'brigade' might lead me to believe it's rather large
hmmmm good question. I'd *guess* something like 60% like her 40% don't - or don't like the royal family, I should say. I think everyone's admiration for QE2 is firmly in place
i remember my mom talking about the queen mum & the loyalty & respect she gained by staying in london during the ww II bombings
someone please kick me out of here.
i guess things change over the years cause the daughter has always seemed a mere shadow of her mum
past half way -- time for bed or I'll never make my 9:00 am tee time! :)
good nite nan - GOOD NITE RAMIX !!!
everyone loved the queen mum, absolutely! she and the queen I think have the respect of people for the work they do and the way they conduct themselves, even if people don't like the overall idea of the royal family. But Diana totally screwed absolute love for the Queen
I found the co12!!!!
neener neener...still here helen
ata - interesting the way you put it - i always was under the impression that it was diana that got screwed by the queen - but i just know that from tv & mags
ramix - can't say i didn't try :)
I think Elizabeth has mellowed considerably over the last few years -- becoming more like her mom all the time (not such a big spendthrift, though). She has had a lot to contend with and all in the public eye. Think she deserves our admiration --- let's face it, as personable as she was, Diana did not behave like a royal.
ramix - I didn't mean to spurn your ofer of hints for the 10s - just want to try and find them but not doing well at it! Maybe in the morning...!
co12/135 and ge10/84, combined total of 219 points for two words
I think it depends what you believe. I think Di put the Queen in an impossible position, but that the Queen contributed to making Diana into the woman she was to demand that impossible position - if that makes sense!
jillibus...last clue...think the new dance craze...dance g/10
I think people like Wills too, and get a kick out of Harry --- ???
uh ata - yeah, that's the ticket, what you said, lol
thanks, ramix, I'll try to think of the latest dance craze -- I'm somewhat out of touch there, though!
the thing with 'royalty' is that circumstances are such that unless you are trained since birth, to act a certain way, chances are pretty good you'll never fit that mold
oh jillibus...i can't leave till you get it!
thDah manjari!
everyone likes William. I think people either like Harry for his liveliness, or dislike him for his liveliness!
ramix - you'll be up all night and you asked us to kick you outta here!
the royals have a hard life, can't go anywhere or do anything without getting on camera, no privacy
i must go - planning a 16 mile bike ride tom'w. that's what i'll miss after hyster - it will take a while to build up my stamina. that's part of why i'm doing it in the winter.
col - i guess that's a matter of perspective - i don't think those are 'hard' lives at all, quite the opposite, in fact, the vast majority of people on the planet have it much, much harder - besides there's always the option of renouncing your title
stumped by the ga 10 - will i hit myself with a fish if i ask????
have a great ride, melon - hope the weather will cooperate
ok i really need to go...it's almost midnight and i havent had dinner yet! and i have work tomorrow morning too!
tx jilli
melon - i had my hip replacement last winter & that was a good call - by the time spring rolls around you'll be well back in the swing of things to enjoy yourself
melon, brand name of shampoo made into a mineral
no fish melon - you want it
hip, hip - replacement! (sorry)
LOL
oh there we are again with the shampoo nan and I haven't heard of!
I don't think you can renounce your position if you have a strong inbuilt sense of duty ... they have a very very privileged life, but also a very hard one
thanks - i light fish-slap!
melon - i gotta say - you're the first, i haven't heard that one before - it's put a big smile on my face :)
well then there should be more wallices
jillibus, they have very popular ads on tv..with celebrities, like andie mcdowell and sjp
back tomorry! laila tov, all.
but you see, we don't get US commercials in Canada
and Sarah Jessica Parker
or for the ga 10 - the actor james ga**** (but more so) with mineral ending
tomorry, never heard that one :)
fructisse
ooooh, helen, good clue!
ok, thanks helen, that penetrated! And thanks ramix, for trying!
oh yah...the alias chick...make her a mineral sorta
good nite melon
oh, my mom said that. my kids swear they've never heard me say "shoes" - it's always "shoesies" - i got a thing for the diminutive...now - ciao!
ciao-bella
ok i'm out for real this time.
gnite all...be back to finish tomorrow
nite ramix
nite melon
now, helen, I thought I had that ga10 but only got a 9 and am still befuddled
jili - huh - i don't have a ga9
I know, there isn't one - I meant I ended up one letter short
jili- stick the dotted letter before the last 2 letters of the actors name
I don't seem to be able to find the ending
& then add the common ending used for meteors
(to make them smaller)
the bum is in the puzzle again :P
ar4/4
Thanks, helen that dotted letter was the answer!
yw
colhad there are 3 ar's which one u want?
naa, not askin for a clue, I was actually giving a clue :)
oh 5n
something else to do with the rear end I just found, sounds like it anyhow, an4/4
ok - that's it - fnally made it to 201
good nite everyone :)
hah - got the ge10 too!
back to finish... got 15 minutes before I have to leave!
hehe, helen, I finally made it to 30!
jilli is on a roll!
how close are you, sprite?
very, less than 10 to go
jees you people fly through these puzzles, I take all night to do them, be lucky to get em out most times
WOW, sprite!!!
Colhad, you're not as experienced at it as we are. In a few years, you'll be flying by and I'll be waving to you :)
colhad, I'm with you.
motivation, jilli. I cannot play later on, so it must be now or go unfinished.
It's bedtime here and I hope I'll be brighter in the morning
*hugs* jilli, sweet dreams!
must look for an icon
lol... which puts off the going-to-bed a few minutes more...
want clue for second ea 4/4
Good morning, I see its another biggie!
Flask, you will love this one! It is one of the most rewarding grids I ever did.
i need clue for second ea 4/4?

Really!
Ok....please excuse me while I dive in and get started!

Well done sprite!! Hi everyone!
Lickety, thanks a zillion, couldn't have done this one without you, and not nearly as fast either.
WHEEEE the Amazing Sprite!!!
got to run now, am sooooo sorry I can't help cluing this beauty for you guys. Enjoh!
*enjoy too
Bye, sprite
i need an expert advice on second ea 4/4?
manjari, how hard can it be, finding a 4 letter word of which you already now the first 2 letters and the value?
*know
sprite, could you tell me what the 12 starts with please, before you go?
It's CO, Biltong.
biltong, it starts with co but I don't know any more than that!
ty, SueMagee and jilibus.
add co to the ge 10/84 - hi everyone
sprite i got 4 ea's correct...only one is remailning...thats the second one...
Co12/135, Bittong. Builds on a G8/50 - 10/84 combo. And I love your ic4/5!
*poof*
sprite?
ty, sprite. :)
those two words yeild no less than 219 points
oops. I said that ic4/5 word several times -- sorry!
yield*
Well, honestly, Jill!
:) jilibus. I hadn't seen it in the grid either, until now.
Morning all
I know, sue *downcast eyes*
hi FMitch
Morning FMitch!
Hi FMitch!
Colhad do you play bfor points rather than words?
nope, just poiting out the fact
won't do it anymore :)
Hey np was just wondering as everyone has a dif way of approaching the game
well, I spose I like the points side of it, but also good if I can get as many worda as possible, hopefully all of them
Also, it's a rather high point value for one word isn't it? One of the highest I've ever seen
I don't thnk I remember seeing a 12 letter word before!
Come to think of it, neither have I. ha ha
jilli - congrats on your ic4 I was trying to do one along those lines but failed.
thanks FMitch - google images did it
well! a lucky guess gave me the 12!!!!
Good one, jillibus
wtg jilli
co5/12, when you get lost in the bush, you sing it out and hopefully someone will hear you
Now I only have to find 4 9s, 14 8s and 38 7s, plus assorted smaller ones. What a hope, when tomorrow will be taken up with other matters!
Oh good, colhad - that's my favourite aussie word - my mother used it a lot!
Thanks for the clues from your icon, FMitch
Same here jilli, grid is way too big for me today but it's always fun to chat inbetween woring.
I agree - I don't care about points - it's the words and the clever clues and the community I enjoy
yw Biltong was going to go for the stinging h6/21 but like this one as it clues 2 words.
morning :) how many today?
306
cheers jill
ge5/14, ge6/24, please rub the lamp master, I will grant you three wishes :)

thanks manjari!
but I think you can make it from either one.
yes you can
oh yep inge...either one gives co 12...
Good morning all - lots of work to do today to get fireworks....

The poison(s)?
Now you mention it - they probably are - a few decades ago there was something about Japan rail station ... you mean the words were hidden in my mind LOL
Yes - there's more lurking there than you imagine!
Scary! Do I want it dredged up?
For babble purposes, yes.....
BTW Haz remembered you ic 4/5 clue! Again scary
Have you extended the beginning to get a flowery decoration? co7/40
That's nice thanks.
You're welcome.
Well the 5 of the z's are hiding from me
Only 4 of mine are.
If you have the first zo4/9, the next two zo5 are plurals, one of which is latin plural.
zo6 - girl's name, followed by American intelligence agency initials
I have a 4/9 but don't know if it's the 1st...I don't think so
zocia
zo4/10 - add almost frozen water. (the first zo4/9 is girl's name plus a vowel)
zo7/52 - collection of animals (three letters), vowel, then the afore-mentioned American intelligence agency.
zo5/9 the last one, rhymes with what controls the tides.
Sorry zo4/9 - the last one.
Cheers Haz brilliant clueing
You're welcome!
Past midnight here and my eyes are crossing. Off to bed ... and thanks for the clues.
Good night - sleep well!
OK..I have 4/9, 6/36, 4/10, 7/52, and 4/9. Missing 2
any help with the ga10
You're missing the two plurals for the first zo4/9 - normal and latin.
Excellent...Thanks a million Haz
ga10 - begins with bouquet ga*** (a collection of herbs), add another vowel and then a ceremony to finish.
You're welcome chiley.
You are quite amazing Haz ! TY.
thank you, got it, haz
Glad to help!
Going to take another break - I'll be back later.
I might take a long break - see you all tomorrow

so many loooong words today
hi, all.
morning Angel
hi, angel
hi Angel
I need a vote: Should I go forward in creating a Babblets page for the resource guide? One player says it's too much help; others say it's a good idea. What say you, Yea or nay?
I vote YEA....no one has to look at it if they don't want to
esp since I plan to put it on a separate page....
good morning. Angelsong, if the page requires a click to go there, then those who don't wish to use it don't have to ... and those who need/want it, will.
I vote yea
yes~~!!!!
angel, please go ahead with the babblet page
it will most assuredly require a cllick to access, ch1212
yes please for a babblet page
a lone no here, I think too much help
yes here too ( :
I agree with Andree.
I won't use it, but I don't mind if it's there for others
I will need player input to build the babblets list. please post yours on BA under General/Wanted: Your Babblets.
Thanks, angelsong!
no one will be forced to look at it if they wish not to do so.
hi angel
Do it Angel - and let the user choose to use it or not
agree saph
the user choice has always been part of the resource guide, so that part is a given.
exactly
back to the grid, has anyone got a clue fo the ae6/18 or ae8/40 yet?

merk think the brand name gar ** frutos shampoo & cerimony for the ge 10
*giggles*
*fructos
James Ga had a TV show and is a popular actor....
Oh yes, I know him.
So six of the ga ones start like James' last name.
:-)
Now you have the first syllable of his last name-0 use it for six of the ga's
I have 5 of those ones...
The first four letters.

I can always live with myself, and no one else has to
I'm with you pida, I couldn't work without the list. I start at the end of the alphabet, and work my way upwards
pida - Wow - we should be together ;l-)
So do I exwren, I always start at the botton
That is what I do ExWren!! it is a good way to start the day on babble.... in my opinion
LOL and I always start at the top left
I always start findig whatever I can and then going to Licketdy's list and starts with the a's
mrp - yes, yes it's the beer that makes it go left
anything that jumps out at me is where I start
Karys - do you need clues sorted in random order?
lalalalalalalalalala *covers ears and eyes* lalalalalalala
I usually put in any words that jump out at me, like my icon,or if somebody clues a hard one, I'll put it in
And I always check the icons, of Fridays
Monkey Typing for me - If I'm bothered. I don't have the patience - Hats of to you all!
no lickety...I am happy the way I do it thank you
monkey typing is always a good thing :)
I have loads of patience at the beginning of the grid-always on the lookout for clues and then I just prauy
*pray
yes...a fair bit of monkey typing often leads to something I've overlooked
It is fun when you are monkey typing and you find a word with 6 letters
I do love Haz's clues !!!
(And she doesn't get paid to say that!)
Yes, Haz gives the greatest and most creative clues, Jacula also
we might be looking for 306 words, but we enter 8,623 words in order to get it!
mr p, you are so right
Thank you!
LOL....Jac's too....I think my mind must work in a similar way ( but not quite as well or as quickly !)
The worst thing is if you clue a word, thinking you've done well, and then getting a 'Huh?'
that would be an awesome if not insulting addition to the clues page.... how many words you had to enter in order to find the right words!! LOL
Oh Haz, that happens to me all the time!!
You don't know whether to go back to the drawing board, or give up!
those oo's are killers :)
Phone
Thanks to the babble community, they have a LOL and then give encouragement to try again
306 . . .I don't know . ..

magzel, don't have it yet, fixated on the ho7
Hi, Scrabbler, and all else who arrived while I was eating lunch!
hi Scrabbler! how's the weather back there today? It turned foggy here, but should clear up in another hour or so.
Hi Scrabbler
Which ar words are you looking for, magzel?
We have had a major snowstorm and the county is under a state of emergency! 2-3 ft of snow. Downed trees, no power--but north of me--affecting my parents and other family.
Got 3 grey boxes but a zillion words to go yet!
ar 5/12, the first one, ar7/28 and 8/40
WOW scrabbler it seems so early for snow
oh man! I was hoping it hadn't hit you... Michigan had some, and Tom's sister (we talked to her last night) near Chicago says they had a little bit yesterday. Hope your folks will be okay.
I have to shop soon and stock up on food. I may have people camping here for a few days IF the roads are opened up. There is a driving ban for now.
Sorry, magzel - don't have them yet.
cait - I've examined those prickly shrubs a lot closer than I wanted on more than one occasion... we used to sledge down a valley of it nearby and I'd sometimes use one as a 'brake'. Ouch!
No snow here . . .
I cannot reach anybody by phone recently. I spoke to my father at about 6 AM.
thanks for looking haz
No way, torgone--you escaped this?
Just lucky I guess ..
torgone lives in San Diego, Scrabbler...
If I find them, I'll let you know, magzel - just filling in my list at the minute.

I have all the AR but the 7 and 8... start with a general location (ar 4/4) then latin and english plurals...
go Angelsong go!
I bet, Scrabbler. I suffer withdrawal if I can't at least chat a little...
A 12 letter word!!!
GO Angel!!!
do you have board games and candles just in case?
the 12 is a co-prefix to a 10-letter ge word...
99 left. Need to get dinner going. BBL.
Bye Jacula
got the AR 7: builds of the Spanish word for "sand" or a sports building
later Jacula
and the AR 8 has the same ending as the AR 7: sort of a "rock" or "crystal" suffix
Yes, lots of games, many jigsaw puzzles, non-battery dependent flashlights, lots of books....I am fine here--sunny and beautiful, but it is a disaster up north and the Natl Guard has been called.
and that's it for the A list!
Will send good energy to those in the snow, seems strange to have it this early after all the warm weather you've been having.

I'm in England - LOL - maybe I'll just hang it out dirty and let the rain do the work *ooh idea*
LOL, fish!
OMG, Fish! It would definitely cost more than the laundromat to fly it to the US!!!! LOL
sryim - please don't worry if you don't get all the words. Just enjoy finding what you can. This game takes practice.
And a very smart monkey!

Minski - co12/135 = co + The Who's 'My G*********'.

THanks Jac. Got it.
Go Flask1!
I get hooked on things easily, specialy word games
can anyone clue me on the ZO7 please?
Hi, Flask
I became instantly addicted to this, colhad.
Hi Scrabbler and Ciocia....
Me too. And I get frustrated when I can't finish a grid. grrr
Jacula, I am not good with flowers--can you give me a more specific clue for go5?
what are you guys talking about grid?
Hi Flask!
i am not much of a gardener Jacula... can you help more?
Hi Judy--were you here earlier?
I love Scrabble too, my icon is Melvin from the Yahoo Scrabble
Flask - zo7 is the same as zo6/36 but with an extra vowel in the middle.
GO5 = think about when something's rough that starts with a CO5 and change the C to a G.
HMMM? Yahoo Scrabble? (My ears are standing up)
coan
I've been "in and out" all day. Actually at work. shhhhh
oops again
when I first started I used to stay up all night trying to finish........and was getting very tired and stressed, then suddenly I realised that finishing wasn't the important part, but ENJOYING it was!!
hangon Scrabbler, I'll get you a link'
ok..so i now knwo the 2 zo's im missing are 6/36 and the 7

Yes, it rhymes with the equine.
ga 10?
okay so i dont have any *i* words can you guys help me with some clues
jekasica--please give real words. You are teasing me.
and I don't know the name of the shampoo mentioned last night in the clue!
there's the normal Scrabble, http://games.yahoo.com/hub/goto?page=g n_word
Scrabble at ISC.com as well
in 5 and 6 means to have no power
well not trying to give words at all they just accidently print there
ty Minski and jacula, I am done with the G's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (happy dance)
in 7 and 8 is a common physics term
im not help me with the g's
Jac....I should have said that I don't have the 6 either.....lol...sorry!
clue the ga 10, please?
I know, jekasica--I am joking with you. We all accidentally type words in the chat. Well, most of us do. And when we do, we get sent to the penalty box for 2 minutes.
oh well yesterday i got yelled at for it
It is nothing to yell about--it is funny, especially when I reveal the thoroughly ridiculous words I am trying
You just have to pay attention to where your cursor is. We all do it sometimes.
well if you accidently give mesome * i* words i wont tell
well don't let people yell at you......after all its only a game!
All 4 of the i words I have start with the same 5 letters meaning "inactive or sluggish by habit or nature".
plus two newer Scrabble games, one is Srabble Blast, a bit more like Boggle, while the other is just solving the words called
inactive or sluggish????
zo4/9 - Girl's name with added vowel. zo5/20 - girl's name with Latin plural ending. zo5/20 - girl's name with added vowel + normal plural ending.
Scrabble Rack Attack
zo6/36 - girl's name + US investigation agency.
ga 10 is a bit hard to clue: it means a mineral, hydrous nickel magnesium silicate, occurring in earthy, green masses: an important ore of nickel
hi jacs!
TY, Colhad
what girls name starts with zo besides zoe which is not it
zo 7/51 is zo 6/36 but add another circle to start
Yes, it is that name
zo4/10 - zo + a vowel & a consonant that sounds like you understand. 'Ah! * ***!'
I got the zo6/36, ty Jacula, and yw Scrabbler
girls name starts with zoe.......
last ha 5 please?
jekasica - don't be so sure about that.
for the zo6/26, just need to take out one vowel from zo7/52
zo6/36 sorry
and just add one vowel in the beginning to get zo 7/52
zo7/52 - same as zo6/36 but with extra vowel in the middle. (Starts like the place where you see wild animals.)
Many thanks Jac!!
you have to be a freakins scientist, zoologist, surgeon and everything else to get these words!
Last z word: zo4/9 - sounds like 'shortly' or 'in a minute' or 'anon'.
What do you mean, EspritdJean? I use most of these words on a daily basis. LOL

any clues for the 0n 8 and 9 please
Okay - the first zo4/9 is the girl's name with a vowel after it. That can be made plural, with the normal letter and also as a latin plural. The zo6 word you have can be extended by adding another o to make zo7/52
2nd go 6/24?
zo4/10 - add almost all of frozen water and the final zo4/9 ryhmes with what controls the tides.
The second one is a variant spelling of the first, cybernan

can I get the AH6?
a + equine=ah6
Charm, I heard it's gorgeous up there and has the most beautiful beaches and white sand.
clue for first re 6/18 then 28?
white white white sand beaches. And a lot of it is still 'fairly' unspoilt. We love living up here. Not as touristy as Miami and not yet found by spring break-ers. Still very much family oriented.
7/28 that is
re6/18 = re + make a salary? and pl - not sure if it's the first.
that was it charm, thanks
Sounds wonderful. I'm in a western community, about 20 miles west of the beach but there are a lot of equestrian people here that play Polo. Then it gets congested.
ty charm I had stepped away for a sec
torgone, you here? maybe you can beat me today
We are home of the Blue Angels, so those weekends are busy by our standards. I'm sure people more east of us would laugh themselves silly ....
My family [the elderly part] have lived between Ft. Lauderdal and West Palm and I must say it's so overbuilt and the traffic is crazy
The developers are busy here, too. It's both good and bad.
Hi, hurshy!

charm. can i have the clue for the g4/6 inside of io7
charm meant you should cut the last vowel off before you added it for the io7
oh. ok
hursh, the g4/6 is not the DNA one....
ok thnx
but if you use the dna one, drop the final vowel. yes.
ok
co5/16 before the shell please
well, at any rate, you can't add a g4 and get the singular, you'd be getting the pl.
co+alt pig
co5/16 = co + stop s*** (hexagon at the street corner).
yay and yay!
true, hursh. sorry for the mix-up.
i am 90% done now!
thanks Charm

this is how much trouble I'm having - the or5 has me clueless.
just monkeyed it. thank you!
what does the grid mean?
clue on that charm please
the grid of letters. I said that instead of 'list' which is what I meant to say.
i just monkeyed it too
sorry pabtrek - I was struggling with what to say.
that 10 second rule came into play
What is the 10 second rule? Is it lethal? Contagious? Flummoxing?
stuck on my last two - zo6 & zo7. can anyone help?
inevitably, 10 seconds after you ask for help, you find the word you were looking for, so the clues everybody gives are kinda wasted....
that you should wait 10 s before cluing cause someone might pull a peri
sorry, Chris. not yet.
you want it to be contagious purloined
zo6 = girls name and US agency - both 3 letters
and the 7 is an alt sp
and just add an extra round letter to that one
zo7 = where animals are kept * 2nd v + US agency again
Thank you lynxx & hurshy - fireworks!!!
congrats, Chris
congrats Chris P
I have oo8.50 - how do I turn that into oo9.72 - I assume they are the same?
YAY for Chris - extremely well done!
oo + ge7
oo9 is adj. form. (spasm at the end)
TY charm & hursh
ch 7/8 combo?
thanks - didn't think I was going to do this one. Bit of a pig.
an excellent description Chris
what's the ge7 for the oo9 :)
ch7 = ch + vowel + r4//6.
ch + 4th vowel + torn clothing + 3rd vowel & plural
for the ch8 add a consonant at the end.
ge7 = relating to dna, an adjective.
sorry - didn't mean plural! It's getting late.
i was so close! tried with e but not i
stuck on an re4/4. sigh
and found it....
still stuck on the ag8/55 clues??
second go 6/24?
a + ge7
go6/24 = that lump in the throat. AND an alt. spelling.
go6/24 - same as 1st one, but swap last 2 letters around
ty hurshy
oh you brits and your spellings
:)
i need some help on the o words
ne7, por favor?
oo + aladdins
on8 = cancer beginning, DNA ending
that's for the oo8/50
aladdin's friend and co, you mean. aladdin wasn't a ge5 himself...
oo aladins?
LOL! you can tell I'm really tired, eh??
seems to be happening to a lot of people.
what is the alladins part?
aladdin rubbed the lamp and out came a ge5
oo + magic men in a lamp that has to be rubbed
jeka, how about I dream of *****?
if there were more than one it would be ge6
and if you stick an oo on the beginning of that you get oo8
last ha5/12 please
oh wow - just broke trough the 100 barrier - sigh!
(jeka is probably a kid, charm)
ne7/32 = the zone of the ocean overlying the continental shelf (as in, the ne7 zone)
go, lynxxx!

Hi faerie.

LOL Scrabbler did we have the same Dad
my thoughts exactly, faerie!!
Scrabbler! Please keep your urinary incontinence in check when you are posting above me!
Hahahahaha
Hi Une :) I think we all had the same Dad....."Don't make me come up those stairs"
Passes Scrabbler some Depends
*Opens umbrella.*
YES!!!! And as he came up the stairs he would be removing his belt as the big threat.
My favoritre was, "Don't make me stop this car!"
"Don't make me stop this car!"
YES EXACTLY
OK, I have to do my Kegel exercises. 1..2..3..4...

Hi Cherry :)
OK, now you're channeling him for sure!!
What is a Tena Lady?
Just wait-you all will be saying some of the same things!
dipper change for some ome :-) lol
"Stop your crying, you patsyass!"
Scrabbler - same thing as a Depends pad.
mine was my mom that would come after me with the belt
Scrabbler I'm glad you ask I was wondering myself
perhaps the same as depends?
your mom?! yikes!
yep my dad didn't whip me it was my mom
my Mom was "just wait until your Daddy gets home"
"If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all." (He would say this as I verbally abused one of my 3 younger siblings. So then I would resort to physical abuse!)
Did you remember of offense when Dad got home?
Take no notice of my Other Hald (paul69)! I am *not* wetting myself. (Crosses fingers behind back.)
OH YES
any clue for the zo6 and zo7??
Once my mother hit my butt with a wooden spoon and the spoon broke in half!
*Other Half!
you got a tough butt lol
Oh, somebody is playing Babble here and looking for clues to words!
The only time my mom ever spanked me was when I ran across the street to the ice cream truck without looking either way and scared the bejesus out of her!
Ouwa, zo6 is zo plus second vowel and secret gov agency c**
me better behave b4 i get spanked again :-) lol
wooden spoons were the spanker of choice in our house, and they always broke!
I need the zo 7 too please...

hello again. need a clue for ar 5/12 and 8/40 please
yeah, that's what made me think about, too
ar5/12 = ar* + **e cream.
ar8/40 = ar** (Brit for derrier) + opp of day.
I do that a lot too, Tea and Jac--then I realize I never entered the word
thanks so much charm. do yoy have as 5/10, i have the flower
as5/10 = a + mix with a spoon.
thanks
yw.
any others? I think I've not taken this long with a grid in a long while.
ae6/18 and 8/40?
ae6 and 8 relate to putting more air in (as in poking holes in your lawn)
Thanks Charm!
yw
zo-6+7?
zo6 = girl's name + US spook agency.
zo7 = same as the 6 but with a double vowel.
Hello again. I have 34 to go and no idea about any of them. I'm going to be begging for a LOT of help. PLEEEEEEASE
sorry dont get it charm
is that my cue to run as fast as I can????
go 6/24, the second one and go 5/24 please
52 to go here, mkl. You're doing better than I am.
Go mkl, GO!!!!
go6/24 - the 2nd is the same as the 1st but swap the final 2 letters.
go5/24 = slang term for big, large. kind of a comic word.
zo6 = zo + vowel + *** (opp of the FBI)?
go7,36?
Sorry. the LAST go7,36
re6.18 - the second one pls
go7 is pl of the go6/24. 2nd go7 is more of the heather plant.

re6/18 = re + rip.
haens
sorry
Crud. The heather plant must be the go5,14 in front of it. Don't have that either
go5/14 = Mr. Ed was a ho***. change the h to g.
Just found the heather plant.
TY charm
i have the zo 5s just cant cajnt get the 6=7 help!!
zo + vowel (girl's name) + Central Intelligence Agency.
Jac, in reference to what u said a few ago...about thinking you had entered the words bcs they were in yesterday's grid...I was telling Stid I was doing the same thing, earlier to day
thanx charm
This is silly, but I've monkey-typed the heck out of it. The first sa6,24
mkl, more wise.
daisy - Glad to hear it's not just me!
:-) Thanks again Charm
mkl is definately not "more wise"
I can't find the heather one, even with Google.
Scrabbler, see the Mr. Ed clue below.
ar7/28?
Scrabbler - go5 is not a heather. It's other name is 'furze' or sometimes 'whin'. It's a prickly shrub with yellow flowers.
Ok. gotta go. Actually, the dog wants to 'go'. commune with the grass. It seems to be dire. Now, he'll go out there, tinkle a bit and want to sit and watch the butterflies. sigh. have fun babbling and see y'all tomorrow.
'Bye Charm. See you tomorrow.
Thanks, Jac, for setting me straight. we get confused over here....
Oh, then I already had it, but I am trying to make the go7...and I found it. TY
LOL Charm. y/w ;)
Bye Charm--TY for clues!
So if go5 is not heather, then what is the heather clue?
Scrabbler - I think Charm just got her plants mixed up.
Oh, that explains my confusion too.
77 left and i have about 40 mintues to do them in - haha
what is the oo word can anyone please tell me i have been trying for like two hrs
can anyone help me with the co6/27, co8/55 and co9/72 after the drums ? (i'm thinking they're all built on the same thing -
Charm merely repeated the "heather" clue that was initially given early this morning.
oo9 or oo8, jekasica?
oo + ge7 (field of studying DNA)
oo + ge5 (Aladdin got one from a magic lamp)
Purloined - Oh well. These things happen.
jekasica-please ask for help if you are searching for a while--somebody will help
either of the ci6,18?
Jekasica - oo8/50 = oo + more than one of what's in my picture.
SORY SORY SORRY Meant the ti6,18
ar7?
ci6 - plural of ci5 (one who quotes something for an example)
ar vowel opp of day ar7
I don't have ti6,18 yet. ar7 = ar * (verb to be) + short version of eveing time
Thanks dodge!
ti6 smaller

lots of help today! thanks!
I'm back. I disappeared for a while after my son arrived home and told me a fox ran into the back garden as he pulled onto the drive. I went out, put my hand on a slug that was on top of the picket gate (euch!) and then nearly tripped over a hedgeho*. Didn't see foxy but Hunting Cat did his usual trick of leaping out of the bushes & grabbing my ankle as I went to go back down the steps. (I'll swear he giggles as he does that!)
That's a great story Jac!
Finished the 'c's' at last. Thank goodness! 23 words to go.
he he he! only in Britain
I'd give anything to have hedgehogs in my garden.
Yay Inge and Tea! Funny story, Jacula.
firefly - Since I have a wildlife friendly garden I suppose I must expect to find wildlife in it. LOL.
Go Jacula go!!
There was a sparrow hawk on the gate when I got home from the shops yesterday.
Cool
my london friend has a three-legged hedgehog in her garden. very sweet
first sa5,12. Shamed to ask

Fireworks!
Thanks Tea. I was going at it from theSA up top
yay merk!! \
yay merk
yw mkl
Inge - Well, I'm glad we don't still have wolves & bears. I'd be more cautious about wandering around the garden at night if we did!
Oh, good--keep them protected from the foxes! My bunnies thump when they hear outside critters. That is how I know the deer are passing through, or when the raccons are causing trouble.
Well done, Merk!
Congrats Merk !
Good job merk
Gotta pick my daughter up from school. Thanks for the help. 12 to go.

thank you very much Haz. You are a wonder
Glad the clue helped, inge.
Hi Haz. How are you doing with the grid?
I finished a few hours ago. It got a little tiresome towards the end!
5 left here, Haz. Yes, very tiresome.
inge - i thought i recognized your icon, almost changed mine to similar thing when i came across the go5/24, used it once before
it's a bit tiresome toward the beginning, i can only imgine the end!
Well done on finishing, Haz.
You're almost there, Jacula - regird your loins...
memo to oneself, never do a grid that's over 200 words!
Congrats Haz! gradually whittling mine down but lots of breaks
Good job Haz. And Jac, you are close!
haha... helen; one of the first words I saw in the grid...
Dodge--I just aim for 50% with the big grids
Loins regirded, Haz.
3
not me - took me a long time, even with seeing the big number score, finally found it - by myself - so proud, lol
Does your husband know, Jacula?
I think thats just about right as well scrabbler! stop when it gets tiresome!
haz - jac ??? is that some weird brit thing?
What's weird about regirding your loins? I thought everyone did it.
Hell - laughing too much to answer. I'll let Haz do it.
LOL - can't say i ever have - not with my knowing about it anyway
How exactly do you regird your loins? I really want to know.
Oh, you'd know if you had your loins regirded.
Does it hurt?
lol scrabbler - sounds intriguing, doesn't it?
wouldn't it be an knights in armour thing - and thats why americans don't know it?
ROFLOL here
Well, I have had pelvic exams-- a privilege if being a woman
yeah - we're pretty stupid about the whole knight's thing - i just really know them from renessaince fairs
privelege?

I'M BAAACCCKKK! After like 5 hours
Well, get to work, klaurel, this grid is tough and we need your help.

Thanks!
ho7: make ho 6
Hvae just turned the piece of paper over that I was writing my words onto & see on the back of it was the last nasty grid (295 words).
Hi everybody, I had 54 left when I went out, and still have 54 left. Where are the gremlins when you really need them?
Oh man, more loin clues
I have to give in gracefully. I have managed 176 words, but there is no point in struggling any further, there is no way I can manage another 130 words in the time I have left. Well done Jacula
and nan, ne7 is ne + when your joints hurt you are arth*****
wrong ho 7: slang for more sexually desirous
Good work, ExWren! 176 is noble with this grid.
Never mind ExWren - you did your best and hopefully enjoyed it, or at least some of it.
wren - don't give up - jacula can help you, she is specially girded now!
Hi all, thought I might have another go at this grid (even though it's 1am and I can barely see it)
Incidentally - girding your loins is a bit like tucking your dress into your knicker legs to paddle. You draw up & tie your lower garment inbetween your legs to increase your agility & mobility.
LOL helen
Oh, in the US we call it giving yourself a wedgie.
where the hell are my knicker legs now?!?!?!?!
It's kind of like getting ready for business.
fireworks!
LOL scrabbs!
It is bedtime for us Brits, it's tomorrow already

i go blind with them
lol
norse isnt accepted??? omg!
Speaking of which, Sheryl. 3 of the re words have to do with the eye. (As do 2 of the co words.)
bodkinz - That's because it is a proper noun - Norse.
ty jac
looking now for those
a norse is a norse of course of course
hi again
And the equine IS in the grid!
lol Une that is so cute
kids are fed and watching a movie, so I'm back to babble
gramma, the product of a very fatigued mind! :-)
How far through the grid are you, Nat? Hi, btw.
retin
lol same here
Careful, bod!
oops sorry.. thought i was typing in words.. oops
I'm making progress -- exactly half-way ! Woo-hoo!!
Add any of 2 vowels to that and you'll get a word.
You'll get a lot of words when you progress them.
sorry Jac, just noticed your question. I've got 189 left. Going to do as many as possible before the flip! are you finished?
96 to go--I can't believe I am under 100
Does anyone want me to clue some re words?
Nat - Yes, I am finished.
congrats Jac--doesn't surprise me, you always seem to be finished!
sure---- since i only have 5 r words right now, i wouldn't mind, thanks Jac
**sitting by, hoping someone will ask for clues**
congrats, jac!!
Stubborn Taurean, Nat. I told you. LOL.
Hi Gwenski.
no 6/21?
HI Jacula!
the first ho 5/16?
lol, jac
Hulk Ho***
Gwen - I'm sitting back to let you clue. Or do you need clues?
thanx une, again
hogans
I need 149 -- not ready to ask for clues, but plenty really to sn4/6 any that go by.
*ready
LOL gwen.
bichon i see you had the same problem as me just now
Okay. I'll make a start on the 're' word clues...
re4/4 - to raise (as in children on animals) or another word for the back of something.
unfortunately. I can play the game but I can't control the cursor
re5/10 - what one does if one raises children. Or more than one backside.:)
ditto
YAY Charm! hi again all
Scrabbler, do you have a houseful tonight?
Hi stidmama. Just clueing the 're' words.
I am talking to my sister In NJ now--she just heard about it
re6/18 (& verb form 7/28) - to get your wages or salary again.
heard about what?
re5/14 - what a monarch does. (rules)
re4/4 & plural 5 - equine (ho5/12) controllers.
No one can drive down here because of the driving ban-
did it
what's happened?
all the re's done
Dorens - how are you doing with the re's now?
Scrabbler - you're snowed in, aren't you?
Great Sheryl! (But I'm missing bunches before the eye words, so am hoping Jacula continues a bit!)
need 16 more...have been doodling around back at the e's where I'm at, but looking at your r's while they're there thanks
ge5.14 pls - after the plural ge in a lamp
We are in a state of disaster here
you giving the clues for the re's jac?
re4/4 - re + very short word that means 'exist'.
holy where are you scrabbler
Sheryl - I am.
scrabbler are you in Buffalo
sad to say I just grayed out my first two boxes....so far to go
Western New York--clobbered with a snowstorm-2 ft of heavy snow, no power...but I live 35 miles southeast and it is fine here.
re4/4 - re + British breakfast drink with last vowel knocked off.
oh no, when buffalo gets dumped on it usally comes this way
re6/18 & verb form 7/28 - to rip again.
But you are north Sheryl
yup but the way the winds are or something seems like if buffalo gets dumped on Barrie gets it too
pyros, hello everyone. what a grueling grid!
Scrabbler, my parents live in Niagara Falls, Canada, and they said that this afternoon, the snow had already left. Just 20 miles away in Buffalo, they were snowed under!
YAY lbd! (hi)
re6/18 & plural 7/28 - true definition is: a crystalline hydrocarbon, C18H18, obtained chiefly from the tar of resinous woods and certain fossil resins. Sounds kind of like being 13-19 again.
i am going away tomorrow with 9 of my girlfriends up to a couple of cottages
Hi lbd.
hello ibd
I have talked with my sister and cousin and friends, by cell phone, but I can no longer reach my parents as they lost their lanline
HI Stid lol at your icon today it's perfect!
last couple of years we went away this weekend and it was so nice we could sit out during the day
*landline
going be freezing tomorrow
ge5.14 pls - after multiple ge in a lamp
227 here. this is a huge one...
brrrr, take your long undies Sheryl
re5/10 is like the re5/10 (to rope up again) that follows it, diff. vowel ending though.
oh, I hope your folks are okay, Scrabbler -- your uncle says "hi" I was just on the phone with them.
ch 7 and 8, please
retie
lynx, another way to plural double vowel not es
not sure I am going to finish this one...
arghhhhhhh!
re6/18, after the rope up again word, is part of the eye. re7/28 is same thing with a Latin plural ending. re7/28 after that is the normal plural ending.
what the heck is the first sa 6/24 can't get it
TY ibd!
re6/18 & verb form 7/28 - to re-prong a fork.
i think i need to go to bed
just go it
Last re word! re4/4 - short way of writing 'returns'.
i'm with you bod but i want to finish this puppy
55 to go
That bad eh, Bod?
Stid, I am worried about my parents getting cold without heat. And their is no water--water pumps cannot work without power, until a generator arrives from Albany
oh -- they don't already have one? not good. No wood stove I suppose?
natasha, it's a really weird word. do your ch**es+first vowel 7th letter, 3rd vowel
been up 14 hours .. had a couple of beers.. and brain is not working too well :/
any clues on the ch 7 or 8?
is that the lack of sleep or the beers bod
and this is different, bodkinz?
No wood stove and no fireplace
natasha and Lena, the ch8 add 3rd letter in alphabet to the end
no slept well night before.. only 2 beers.. but Mr. Brain .. he no workey too well
Nat - do you have the ta6/24 (that sounds like plural Indian stripey ginger cats)? If so, change 1st letter.
Sorry! My last clue was for Sheryl, not Nat.
thanks jac...i havve all RE's now...not all r's, but will, in time...back to the H's now.

thanks!
bod - you're not the first to have typed words in the chatlog today (or indeed any day) and you won't be the last. We all do it at one time or another!
Une - its like the thing you use in the car - st******* wheel - but change the second vowel and drop the g
the first one ib, got it
thanks, lynxxx!
Unea, st7 like the wheel inside the car that guides you st*****g, 8 bulds off that with a vowel at the end and the 9 makes it more than one
well forst time i've done it ever.. so i guess i feel a little more guilty.. oh well
Accidentally typing a word in because cursor not moved or in chatting is fine. It's the deliberate posting of words by sad individuals who occasionally invade like trolls under a bridge that is annoying.
its the co's that are horrible today. I am missing about thirteen words between the salmon and the raco**.
that would be very annoying.. never seen that myself YET! touches wood!
last ha 5/12 please?
snp, 2nd sa6/24 plural of the one above it.
I did it once 3 times in succession because I didn't realize where the cursor was, bod. Hello everyone btw ;)
agree svso - I have 12left and they are all co!
3rd sa6/24 what one might wear on the beach over a bathing suit
thats exactly what just occurred while i was monkey typing....
It does happen, bod. Usually towards the end of a school holiday, or when a teacher puts her class onto this site or at weekends.
Dorens, Gretels brother
When the trolls or the silly kids invade, just turn off the chatlog. Click on Who's Online or My Friends instead.
Would you like to help me get some go words? Maybe just get me started somehow, please?
dude?! why so offensively offensive? people make mistakes and that doesnt mean they are a child or a troll!
