no idea, Gadget, check the "help" section? It might have some info. Lickety is "just" a really great guy who wrote an algorithm for finding words using the Enable dictionary.
hi folks
not me ARB! I only have the said-again re8, clue for the other?
Lickety did not create Babble, Dr_God did. two separate people.

there's another 8 orinth, with the plural
matched groups, ankh and tea
wondered where you had gone, thought maybe you fell into the REs!

Oxygen, sherb, you forgot the oxygen for the dizzying heights when you're almost at the finish.

yes
Yes, Haz
Morning all taz are you typing in the dark? LOL
morning Frances
fran hi not i am legally blind
hi Frances
taz - if you have the da4/5 - a woodland area, add two letters that make it sound like an old fashioned English verb, as in the bible.
*sends the monkey out for oxygen... * hi Frances :)
hill & da** plus ***st ****nd ***rd four**
hi jean hi frances
welll ty for teh clarity all
Does that mean you've got it, or that you're more confused than ever?
theres no way im gonna get all those a's without a list
haz workoing on it lol and refering ot the tips
Okay, we can try again if the first tips don't help.
have the beggining and the end
da6/24 sounds like Dr WHo's nemesis... with a lisp...
The da4/5 is also a name - think of Roy Rogers' wife.
anyone have DE 5/14? Last one of the D's and Im stuck.
nascar driver that died for the ha & second third, four**
saphyre, was that clue for me?
for taz
anyone have the DE 5/14, please!
i think i am just mixing letters ty going to get a watewr an d work lol ty haz and all
de & hill & **** minus the e
de5/14 - not sure how to clue it - anagram of de4/6 (moribund) with another consonant. The ending of the word is as Mr Gore's first name

cooked and pink
I dont believe it!! Ive just past the 100 mark!! (first time EVER!)
there's also ro7 pink, but it won't pluralise...

hey - this grid just told me that road and "stir" does not exist in this puzzle - yes it does. pout
Stir doesn't!
not without using the same r twice-I know because I've tried it about 10 times
oh - LOL - no it doesn't!
my bad frances - I need more coffee. :-)
Wolvie think of an alt. spelling for Stid and add it to the end of the hwy
Black, white, sugar?
where you like is your homest***

356 sandr
I'm at 182
I have 129 left and will probably take a break shortly
I've found 120 words
152 to go then! clues for the 9's please
good going ch and kth and sandr!! (and matty!!)
he9 non-gay sibbling
I have only been working a short time ;)
ro9 highway home
ty ty
the other 9 is highway + last past of "On the old home*****"
Thanks for those nines - and I didn't even have to ask. Bonus!
well - I must go and get ready to take mom to the hearing aid pick up - bbl to finish. :-)
cya wolvie
bye wolvie
how many 8s are there? i have two
8 8s
there are 8 8s
ok - could i please have clues
which do you have sandr
th8/45 and re 8/45
and qu 8/55
he8, something you might wear if you work in a call centre
ol8 people who are not young
Can someone clue the re8/45
ty ty kthdsn - fabby clues
there are 7 re8s, said again, ate again and checked again
matty there are three
and there's an ro8 which I don't have yet which is something to do with pink apparently
I'm missing three 8s - probably the Rs. I have to say again...
kthdsn ... ro 8 flower + consumed
ty pur, I'm sure I put that in already lol
That's only a 7, Letter!
Is that not ro7?
ok maybe I confused the clues from before, there is an ro8
ro7.28 & 8.40 - can't get definition but get ro5.10 first and extend. ro + original *** + h**e in the ground.
I think i am thick headed today but i dont see checked again and ate again
One 8 left. Have an RO9, and RO7 and 6...but no RO8
ro 8 .... ro 5/10 + circle stick and plural letter
ro8/40....ro + transgression + aged minus the 'd' and hello !!
Hi Karys - snap!
Begin with te4/4 - to try out. Put re in front of it for re6 then past tense it.
Wurdy, if I take an exam, I take a t***
rosinolhi?!
checked again, think exam, ate again think one of the 5 sense
hi lyn :)
and Pur****ed Letter!
LOL..matty
103 and run out of a steam. Back later
103 left, that is
58 to go and trying to get 2 more before I have some lunch
I'm thinking what matty thought on that ro8. Any clarification possible?
thanks i am thick headed today, got them now though thanks again
I'm still stuck on the 8...
Start with ro5/10 - add most of opposite of young. That gives ro7, then plural it.
Esprit - drop the hi from what Matty said and then add s
change matty's last letter to the plura;
thanks for those wonderful clues - have them all now and on 223 i am going to do some work - be back later for the 130 left!
bye sandr
OK, I got it but #1 That's a WORD? and #2 where does the "hi" come in?
I'm running out of steam, I fail to believe there are 152 words left in this stupid grid
and thanks btw
I have a55 left kth and I agree with you
There are - Dr_God never lies to us.
#2 Matty put hi on the end of it when she spelt it out - ?! Esprit
oops 155
does anyone have the i's?
"ro8/40....ro + transgression + aged minus the 'd' and hello !!" - the Hi came from Hello! :D
I have most of the i words.
it's a brand of ski's too.
I have only 2 related - io6 & 7
I have none of the i words
I have only found 2 i's so far
I have them all now.....
are they all in?
No - they're much more exciting. Some io words and an is word.
3 are IO (at least)
io6/21 - add what could be a fruit, or a night out with a special person, then develop it for io7 x 2.
oh joy, I hate vowel words, never mind double vowel ones!
is7/32 - is plus a vowel, then a four letter word which can mean a metal or a means of taking a dog for a walk.
TY Haz for is...
thanks haz your clues are awesome you should do a clue list like lickety
ty haz
I could just see my husband's face if I suggested doing that!!
you would never get off the puter lol
can you clue the other io I have the special night ones there are two of them right?
Exactly! I'm glad the clues help anyway.
sunny09 ru on!
The special night can be plural or past tense.
wurdy, you mean it's possible to get off the computer???
I have a very hard time getting off thanks haz got it
I have four of the six Is - I have all the ones clued, but no more :(
when i am not babbling, i am shopping or pretending to shop and then i teach my kids to babble and boggle
There are two in words as well, matty.
I'm a web designer/blogger/internet addict, I get out of bed, check my email and don't leave the computer until bedtime
Food? Toilet breaks?
matty
waterways
naw true internet junkies have a catheter
i eat at the computer...
hey now!! there is nothing wrong with teaching your kids that boggle and scrabble are good games to play for hours on end LOL
you all probably got really nice computers if youre a web designer...I am using a comodore 64 lol
exactly zz
wow wurdy that is old school, we have 2 laptops at home, I think I would die without them
my kids arent addicts i swear. lol i would never get my 16 year old hooked on this AHAHAHAH he beats me all the time
wurdy - I know so little about computers that I don't know if a commodore is old or not! If it works, you're flying.
kidding about the commodore - but barely
It's ok janette... If I do this at home there's usually 2 boys and sometimes a husband over my shoulder.... and if I dare leave the keyboard, they're there
I think i might sell a kid (my oldest teenager) for a laptop
my little ones are always yelling out words for me
good day/ big grid everyone
lol wurdy, you're not allowed to list people on ebay
I think it is a good teaching tool
LOL kc i thought i was the only one. my son is on quiz bowl he is a walking brain.
Good day abe - it is a big grid, but great fun.
kth - can you imagine the ad -"13 yearl old boy with terrible attitude and nonexistant work ethic for sale. Fould mouth and body odor are a plesnt bonus"
Hi Haz- I must admit I am enjoying it, thus far
rofl
Hmmm... no, cause the same add with the exception of "bathes and uses plenty of cologne" will be in my add above it
adore
lolol
OOPS
ty frances
You'll not attract many bids that way! You need to speak to real estate agents about how to sell. 'Has potential' should be in there somewhere.
thanks Frances :)
You're very welcome
ahhh you are correct haz - how about this
13 year old boy, very flexible esp. thumbs, vocabulary quite extensive
Perfect - I'd buy him.
colorful vocab that is better
1 dollar
plus shipping and handling
Sale or return?
do you ship to the UK?
do you use paypal definate sale and all sales final
will ship anywhere
Ah, with that low price you'll get people thinking that there is a catch somewhere. You need to put it up to avoid suspicion.
hmmmm ok a tenner
and how will he be packaged, I'd hate for him to be damaged in transit???
has anyone clued the 9s?
And, before I land myself with a teen boy with attitude, I must get some lunch. See you later!
a couple of times grace
lol kth
If his bad behaviour doesn't live up to expectations I'd like my 2cents back please
cya haz
bye haz
oh trust me frances, his bad attitude will not dissappoint
he9/60 straIGHT SIBLING
actually he doesnt need to be transported, he is in juvie right now'
ro9/66 highway ho
and I actually adopted him
thanks Frances
ro9/66 highwayhome
thx frances!
ok way too much self disclosure....taking a break now
You're welcome abe and Grace
catch you later wurdy
mornin babblers!
hi evan
Hi Evanadine. later Wurdy and Haz
Hi evan
OK, so the list is long, but how's the grid? Are the words easy to find so I don't spend a whole day here?
wurdy, is that a compound word?
the first 200 or so are easy enough merk
Hi Merk. The words come tumbling out!
Merk- its been ok so far, but i just started 30 min ago
OK, then I'll take a stab at it. Thanks for the input.
yeah... I'm at 157 pretty easily
is the he8 related to the he9?
no grace
No
Good morning Babblers. 356 words--no wonder, look at all of those common letters, pushing the F, H and QU aside.
the 8 is what you might wear if you work in a call centre
grrr...
hi scrabbler
that warrants a fish.
Hi Kate.
Hi Scrabbler
Grace--I have had cute little hamsters like in your icon.
Hi abe.
cute, aren't they?
what breed is it grace, I used to keep hamsters, we still have a robo
I wish I could type without looking at the keys. But I dropped that course when I was failing it in high school.
It looks like a dwarf or a baby.
scrabbler keep practicing it comes to you after a while
I'm missing two 8s. I've got he, qu, re x3, and th. Anyone know what I'm missing?
I have an albino teddy bear hamster now--Oliver.
that sounds cute scrabbler
good morning everyone, long grid today
ol8/45
don't know the breed. Sadly, he's not my hamster. My hamster-- Mumford the terrible-- died some time ago.
Hi Annie
ro8/40
Grace ol8/45 and ro8/40
hey, annie!
thx!
hi abe!
Morning Annie
and scrabbler!!!
Hi Une
morning!
our robo is a female but my two year old daughter named her Mr Moo
hi Une, are you on your own two feet now, I hope
I am just starting this grid so I am not ready to clue. I am in search and discovery mode.
yes, thanks, Annie--graduated from cast to boot to brace!
I love your flowers for Leslie Ann
:-D wonder when she'll arrive at her shower
I'm already stuck. I can't find the al 4,7. I can't et that many points. I have all of the other al 4,4
merk think beer + a big scoring letter
I'm blind here. I start with the a in the top row, right? I can't figure out how to get to the high scorers in four letters.
make a u-turn merk
Oh, I didn't see the corner letter, duh! Thanks.
merk, first letter of the hebrew alphabet or beer and turn left
yw :-)
I think I need to drink my morning coffee before I start this. And the long grids always intimidate me for some reason. I can zip through the short ones in no time. Anyone else have that problem?
can someone please explain to me why i decided to wear a skirt today?? *shivers*
when the grid is this long I dont print out the list, can anyone tell me how to drag the list near the grid. Yes Merk, I have that problem also
Feeling girlie?
Yes, merk, I look at the big grids and assume I won't finish, unless it is the weekend and i have more time, and my coffee is READY---------> I need coffee now!
evanadine- have any extra leg warmers around? you need them today!
just made fresh coffee, who wants some, going to get coffeeeeee
annie try tiling the windows, right click the start bar and choose tile
Merk- big grids are a bit intimidated, esp. before caffeine consumption
*intimidating
i need pants!
kth, will try that but first coffee, thanks!!!!
*sending leg warmers to evan*
For goodness sake, eva, get some clothes on.
evan I was a bit worried/scared then, pants over here means underwear, took a while to sink in that you meant trousers
see, i was thinking like this: im gonna see the BF later, and i havent worn a skirt in a really long time, so maybe ill wear a skirt for him today... and now my comfort is paying the price!
hah, yes, i do forget that difference in interpretation there kth ;)
BF?
kthdsn- that's good to know! lol
Kate, one of the radio stations here has "No Underwear Wednesdays"--"going commando" is another name.
wow scrabbler, really? I think us brits must be a little more prudish
We've got standards. And cold winds.....
It is a raunchy radio station. Most of us have mothers that told us as kids, "Make sure you where clean, nice underwear in case you are in an accident and go to the hospital." I still think like that.
heh, my brother listens to a station that tries to get people to participate in Whip 'em Out Wednesdays...
lol surely if you've been taken to hospital the state of your underwear is the least of your troubles
It's a Pollyanna thing. You can be lying on the troller, in agony, thinking 'Let's be glad my underwear was fresh on this morning.'
if you are in an accident and go to hospital, your underwear is pretty much cut off you!! wear your worst!
Like the Boy Scouts say, Be prepared.
Hi MrP
Good evening, mrpresident!
Hi abe and haz!
hello everyone!
Hi Haz and mrpresident
One of my friends was on a trip, flying, and did not wear a bra (she really never needs to anyway) and got sick at the airport, went to the hospital, and was mortified that the staff saw her without a bra on. But she is a Pollyanna. Actually our name for her is Prudence.
Hi annie!
Hi mrp.
Good grief, I've just noticed the time. I have to go for a hairdresser's appointment. See you all later.
Hi scrabbler! :)
See you later Haz
bye haz
Oh my goodness, get that hair done!
later, haz
blonde highlights today Haz?? or go for the full coverage?
Yes, platinum blond! Go for it.
ohhhh, would LOVE to be platinum blonde!
ROFL
go for a wig MRP - low maintenance
scrabbler, I don't think she is listening... or perhaps she is booking in the double D's to go with the platinum
LOL
now my image of Haz is just too Marilyn!
Ok now I officially hate this grid
there's no way there are 127 more words in it
I just found the annoying bloody fly!!
I thought I was hitting the wall too, kate, but now I am looking at the tile stats and see lots of zeros! hah
i am down to 123 and i am struggling
still no list though
Go wurdy!
mrp as soon as i read your post about the fly I saw it, it happens often
you can do it, wurdy
isn't it the way!
Brainwaves traveling through time and space---cool.
those As from the top tile are just impossible, I've got 4 of them, no matter what I try I can't seem to find anymore
I only have 2 of those, and none from the 3rd column A.
I decided to go with the tile stats today, still on the top row, *plugging away*
I have 6 from the 3rd column A
cartoon + movie AE** flux (and its plural)
scrabbler, are we ordering the family dinner?? lol
they are mostly AL kthdsn (have gone to Lickety at 100 to go)
the al 4/7 is a babblet- anagram of what is coming off the trees in autumn
AL4 -- healing plant -- AL** vera
everthing plural
Waaaaaaaa, I have to get ready for work. I don't want to go. My office is a soap opera with a new episode of drama and wrath each day.
a + sprung from her lo 4/4 & plural
Scrabbler- come to my office- equally dramatic, but with a tray of candy apples today
scrabbler, think of the good you do as a doctor and if that doesnt work stay here with us and babble
scrabbler be a diva, pump up that hair and high heels go and slap someone embrace the soap opera
sounds fun scrabbler, my office is where I play babble all day
scrabbler... suck it in, breathe deep..... SMILE! (oh I understand!!)
be brave, little buckaroo!
hope your office is warmer than mine!! *shivers*
sloe
We have computer police, actually the entire work place is a police state.
we have software to stop you going on certain types of site, but it allows babble thankfully
humblest apologies
ok.... on the q's.. I'm missing one, I have the 5,7,7,8 that all start the same... what am I missing??
I just focus on having fun with the kids and taking good care of them and their parents. But with the exception of a few people it is a middle school flashback.
babble is educational and therefore should not be blocked!
yeah i just blocked out an l albeit the little one
still starts the same 5 letters just go up
yay wurdy
kc- plural of 5
kc there's also a 6, on the same theme
I have four of six I's - can anyone helps with the other two - I hve 3 x 7s and 1 x 6
good afternoon peep's, wow a biggie today!! are the Q's obvious ?
got it. Can't believe I didn't see it!
matty they are in's, a 5 and a 6
ok. I've closed out a whopping four letters now!
i have five closed out
breakfast, brb!
I have 5 closed out so far :D
Farewell, Babble Buddies, I must shower, put on my platinum blond wig, my DD cup bra, clean underwear without holes, and go to the office. I will return tonight. Have a great day!
bye scrabbler remember you are a diva
see you later Scrabbler
have a good day scrabbler
bye scrabbler!! you look hot!!

hey kt
hi kthdsn
I was gonna ask for help for the es6/18, and then decided not to, but forgot to move the cursor, so i might as well ask for help now. Sigh. Anyone got the first es6/18?
es6/18 - a British petrol company with the opposite of out tacked on the end.
essoin
oops
wrong place
it's also like the bunny/eggs holiday minus the a and pluralized
ty Haz - one of those words I swear I tried this morning.
You're welcome Dachef.
I suppose if one has a country es6, one can be said to be es7...
You would need to be lo6/24 to have one of those!
I see what sprite meant when she said past tense everything...
I didn't catch that clue, Haz. I do have all of the a thru e words finished now though. I thought I could look ahead at your lo clue, but I'm lo**.
lo6/24 - past tense of lo4/5 - to stow stuff on board. The term lo6/24 is used here to indicate that someone is very rich
I see. I was looking for something like lorded.
No, nothing quite so noble.
I've got them now, thanks. I'll go back to mu f words.
Zoot alors! alors doesn't work ..
Okay, I"m back, did I miss anything?
thought it was zut
I believe its spelled "zut".
You thought right.
Je ne parle le Francais tres bien ..
LOL, obviously
neither does Delors, as in the fmous Sun headline...Up Yours Delors... neither does Delon, as in once famous French actor...
You've missed out your 'pas'
thats okay, we love you anyway Torg
It sounds like zoot . .
He didnt miss it out, he just passed on it.
Very good, Dachef!
not if it's pronounced corectly, it doesn't...
there is the zoot suit
loved that movie with Edward James Olmos
My French teacher once taught us that the easiest way to pronounce the u in zut etc is to purse your lips as if about to whistle, but say e instead. It works!
hi evryone. I've been lurking. The grid is pretty good today.
hi Angelsong
hi angelsong
anyone have a clue for the sh6?
A big meaty rump roast of a grid . .
<listen to the collective sound of a load of people pausing typing to whistle an "e" sound with pursed lips.
It conjures up a wonderful picture!
the sh6 has another consonant after the sh... and means a village in Yiddish
mmm, my yiddish is a bit rusty
And it has just one vowel in the middle of the word.
got it!
141 left...have to go make tea for the family....bbl
what a word.
I think something similar was in the grid recently. sh plus an infamous Vietnam offensive, then another consonant.
...If I were a rich man, Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum...
A little help with that one . I dont speak Yiddish
Well, I got thru the he rather unscathed, but the final ones were a tad bit sticky.
if fizer were a rich man, i'd rob him..ha ha ha ha
Clued below, lady.
How do you pronounce it?
the clue didnt help much Haz
it
Hur hur!
Thank you!
lol dachef. thanks nut - fortunately i'm neither....
Heya fiz!
Try sh plus three letters of the French word for head, then a consonant.
fortune - ately
tor it's said just like it looks. Emphasis on the first syllable, 2nd is a little clipped.
ok... Done with the d words... now off to work.. see you all later!
*sides splitting with laughter at nut*
good lord, I monkey'd damn near everything - didnt try that combo
ewwwwwww...sew it back up fiz
lo5/12 anyone? I know its only a 5-letter word, and therefore should be easy, but my brains gone to sleep with 40 left.
no worries lady, I am still monkeying

Torg.... Fawlty Towers Manuel?
Si
:o) and his pet Basil
Metal - my name at yahoo dot com

Sure!
Wouldn't it be nice, when you were finished with the l words, that you would be halfway thru the list? But there ae all of those r,s,t words.
with my job ending next week, I may have time to actually get some stitching done
Not if the grids are as big as this everyday!
maybe it'll balance out tomorrow with a grid full of horrid letters and no words
hey kth - how many you got left?
104

Hi, Stidmama, how's your day going?
Hiya Stid
hi stid, wurdy
hey Merk, my day isn't too bad -- kid left his band instrument at home, so I made a quick trip to the school and then did a half hour's yardwork... so feeling as if I have accomplished something other than reading and babbling.
nice icon, metal -- gorgeous colors!
lady, the first email I sent without attaching the pics, please disregard that one... the second one has the pics.

i have a cold & have cough syrup with codeine + antibiotics + an inhaler
don't feel bad - 2 little o 4's are killing me
Ok, I actually laughed out loud at the buttgrease. What porn movie did that phrase come out of?
hk do you know where the chapel is located at u of c? WEnt again today there and looked but only saw the library
i guess it's more than just a cold -it's an upper respritory infection - which i think is just a fancy way of saying 'cold'
porn movie? NO NO - straight from Tor
Helen, could you Fedex me some?
now where HE got it is anyone's guess. ;-0
tazpink-by u of c do you mean university of chicago?
taz - no, not off hand, i know how to get there by visuals but i can't tell you streets - uh, btw, chapel is a misnomer, it's more like a cathedral
yes eva
Im sure it came straight from torgone''s feverish lmagination
I looked up the meaning-learn something everyday with Babble!
oook i know it then ty hk
most likely mab. :-0
I don't care what the meaning is. It's one of those words that makes everyone giggle when it's used.
anybody know the al6 and al7 near the end of the al's?
da6,24?
ignorance is supposed to be bliss! LOL
Well then, I'm as happy as a pig in sh**

aloda
eva - believe it or not, but some people have been going to the u of c for many, many years to see their doc & have never been there
Does anyone have a good clue for the da6,24?

couldn';t you have put in a real word?
taz is in for a very nice treat, don't ya think?
my favorite not a word is torgone's illed
so we probably overlapped at some point. Why do you visit it? One of my roomates got married there.

(in England) an excuse for nonappearance in a court of law at the prescribed time.
da6/24 ends with start of deadly injection
Thanks though torgone. I saw the large property RIGHT after I asked
add a Biblical type ending to the da 4.5
da 4 - chip and da** with a lisp
good clue taz
ty
aaww, thought tor would opt for some more humor
Was that clue for me torgone? Remember, I'm a bit loopy today. Need to be walked through it. DUUHHHHH

a clue for is7/32 please?
st7,32?
IS7/32
is + vowel + pencil misnomer
there are 2 flask - one is: alone plus go out with, plural
and my muse gave you the other. :-)
What's a pencil misnomer?
whew - finished the r's
what does a pencil use to write, mkl? that's it
what children/people think pencils made of
st7,32?
sly is the one I have mkl
Thanks Wolvie..and Mymuse
criminals use this ability st7 to creep up?
hi all - I don't get the alone and go out with clue!
Got ty
st7,28?
hi jilli!
hiya jili - wow, great wedding gift, you are totally invited if i ever decide to get married
is plus vowel jilli would be what I meant by alone - go out with is da 4, then plural
wolvie - I tried that but "not in the dictionary". I must have used the wrong vowel -- ???
mkl - like the bad stuff athletes use - sort of
okay. is 4th vowel jilli. :-)
mkl - uses an l tho, not a d
I'll put it on your wish list, hele - LOL!
sounds like being non fertile
tx jili!
wolvie, that's what I tried - twice!
ty Wolvie
Three more 7's
io plus a da** like from a palm tree, then plural - my bad clue jilli
Both of the io7's?
the is one is the iso plus pencil stuff - I'm too much into this grid - major sorry
that's what I was cluing mkl - badly
Yeah, I saw that after I asked. Got it right away though.
oh - thought it was an "is" clue! My mistake - not yours - your clues were brilliant!
How about the LAST io7?
take the io 6 - then plural and a past tense
no no jilli - it was me. I shouldn't clue and try to enter words at the same time
aaaaaahhhhhh
:-( There are a lot of words in this puzzle that end in like those two. Just blanked on this one. Thanks
hi again all hi jili
hi TO!
hiya TO !
io + pencil misnomer lol
clue for the al5/10 please? I'm sure it's fishworthy...
hi TO
hi TO
Last 7 letter word. Then I'll stop grovelling. lo7,32?
clued it mkl
detest - plural
lo7/32 - plural of to really hate someone
TO - your icon made me think of the eccentric old lady that lives across the alley from me - her house is wall to wall, ceiling to floor 'treasures' - she has one room that is completely filled with dolls, it's rather creepy
it's a perfect time of year to be creepy
al5/10 think pork cut
a pork tenderl**n ch
Don't see it muse. I see your io clue but not the lo.
anyway - one day betty saw me in my garden & came over lamenting how some ungrateful (grown) children had the nerve to sell their sock monkeys at their garage sale - she had to save them, since they were made with so much love
Thanks wolvie -- swear I tried that, but it was probably the e I did that with
lo - a term for hate, mkl - then plural is the 7
yw
okay - I am taking a break - bbl
she spent alot of time showing me the careful stitching & other details - she was very upset at these people for getting rids of something made with so much love
hi nut - just read your story, sigh!
betty is a gentle spirit :)
Evening all...a big clue please for sh 6/21
mkl don't mind me I read io and not lo, need new reading glasses sorry
Thanks again, and thanks everyone for all the help. 63 to go, and their all 6 letters or less. I'm off into my coma for awhile.
sigh? sigh? why sigh?
sh+ Viet holiday + cons.
hi caitlyn -- that stumped me too. It's a yiddish village, and the biggest help was a clue that said it's st + another consonant, then a vowel, then two more consonants
oh, helen, that's such a story, sort of of longing or loss or something.
I dunno, nut -- because of the fantasy of it all?
caitlyn - sh6/21 - a yiddish village. sh plus the start of a popular English tea.
sh6/21 Yiddish word for Jewish settlement, add *** offensive (Vietnam) and stick letter
hi Haz nice clue
it aint no fantasy! it's abso facto trueo
ok have to start dinner bbs
oh yes, nut, I forgot - lol!
Thanks mymuse - I hoped it would work for Caitlyn, being from this side of the Atlantic...
Hey everyone! Hey Lara - are you playing?
yes mab - betty is quite the character - i was pretty freaked out the first time she invited me into her house - some of her things are probably worth a small fortune, but she will never part with anything
just ask chj and ren
jilli hey
and helen
sure, sure, nut
hiya chj!
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{nutty}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
(((chj)))
hi there chj!
buddy, she's dissin us
maybe we should kidnap her again
no I'm not! I enjoy your (made-up) stories!!!
we should, but we should wait till sis is available
she ties the best knots
oh that controversial jilli, she's an instigator nut.
i know mab...we'll teach her though
our stories as you call them are 100% abso facto genuine=O
can anyone please give me a clue for the sh 6/21
rennie ties one hell of a sheepshank
I'll bet you can't catch her in her snappy little car.
and her half hitches are a marvel
finally, less than 100 left
pfsssssssssssssssh
i'm partial to the bowline
seems there is a big counterfitting scheme going on here - the clever criminals bleached $5 bills & printed them again as $100's - the only way to tell is to shine a flashlight & you will see lincolns face - lol - clever
go metal go
**waves hi to all who arrived while I was away from the keyboard for a bit*
but I gave the car to LeslieAnn and hubby-to-be
potty break
hi metal
better put on your track shoes then jilli
nothing beats a good lark's head
do you have to be a midget to fit in that car jilli
I'm being ganged up on!!!!
hi patch, ru looking
LOL jillibus
no chj - it's very roomy - for two
helen, that's ingenious!
two midgets you mean
Thanks all but i still cant get the sh 6/21...put it down to be realllllllllllllly tired..
you can park it in all sorts of tiny spaces
hiya feather - yes, diabolical, yet so simple
i bet you can get at least 20 clowns in there
two 6+-footers
right, mab!
folded in half
caitlyn -do you remember an advertising campaign a few years ago featuring the 'tea folk' - from Yorkshire, big caps etc? Use the first four letters of the tea brand, after the sh.
It's like just the front end of a normal car
the reason it runs on a thimbleful of gas is that there's no room for a larger tank
sigh
what kinda mileage does it get jilli
did someone mention midgets?
gidgets
fidgets
chj did nut. I think he might have been refering to you
widgets
hello all!
hey , i resemble that remark!
fantabulous, I hear, and will run on bio-diesel. Mercedes-Daimler-Chrysler
widgets
gidgets
i lose
Thanks Haz
gidget goes to rome
and roams
hi jellytots
You're welcome, caitlyn.
Hi Haz, didn't see you earlier :)
rome wasn't built in a day
how are you, jilli!
Hello Biltong - just dropping in to see how things are going.
I take it you have completed the grid already?
fine, jelly - so far *looking over shoulder at chj and nut
Yes, I finished earlier on this afternoon.
*casually follows jilli beside chj*
hehehe!

{{{{LESLIEANN!}}}} what are you doing here? aren't you supposed to be getting your hair done or something?

Braid the raven hair — Weave the supple tress — Deck the maiden fair In her loveliness — Paint the pretty face — Dye the coral lip — Emphasize the grace Of her ladyship! Art and nature, thus allied, Go to make a pretty bride. Art and nature, thus allied, Go to make a pretty bride.
oh -- guess that's true, Fran...
but Douglas! Three little maids from school are we Fresh from the ladies seminary...
Braid the raven hair, Weave the supple tress. Deck the maiden fair In her loveliness. Paint the pretty face Dye the coral lip Emphasize the grace Of her ladyship! Art and nature, thus allied, Go to make a pretty bride. Art and nature, thus allied, Go to make a pretty bride.
what a lovely verse, douglas! Who wrote it?
thanks douglas! stid, we have a highly recommended photographer
It's the opening of the second act of The Mikado, by Gilbert and Sullivan.
I mean tonight, Leslie Ann -- who's capturing the creative and lovely LeslieAnn doing all this work for her "day"?
Well, I thought I knew the Mikado, having seen it so many times, but I guess I was too rivetted on other parts.
douglas always finds real gems.
PurloinedLetter and I got into a ****** argument about doing play-by-play...
"Braid the Raven Hair" is one of my favorite choruses. It really captures the spirit of the girls getting ready.
stid was clued in, of course
well, I was off at a school band concert so am dying to know what happened in the game while I was gone!
game tied again. This is a close one, awright!
Game tied again...Tigers decided not to lay down and die...
Stid was only clued in because Tom was in the Mikado twice (and stidmatt once)!
GO TIGERS!!!! (woot cards...)
you mean LIE down
hmmm... well, with all these DIY projects I don't know if i'll EVER want to see them again ;)
stidgrant is in the background reciting the "Dead Parrot" sketch from Monty Python... *sigh*
Yes, that too...
What's in your centerpieces, LA?
love the dead parrot
stid, i think that's my favorite monty python sketch!
It is a really great one -- but I am also partial to the cheese shop that is very clean!
I seem to recall that pine was in a recent grid, as in pining for the fjords
Rather like the I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok...
LeslieAnn, you will be so happy you did them. And everyone will say (and think -- and be right) how clever and talented you are!
they are fishbowls with prairie grass wrapped around the inside, fake leaves and votive candles (the decorations have a very fall-y feel)
yes, day before yesterday, I believe Douglas!
douglas, a weird spelling of fjords was in the grid a couple weeks ago, that was my clue.
ol 7?
**** we forget...
natasha, those that are not young, not young + road**** (open car)
they sound beautiful, LA
On Wednesdays I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea! (actually, that IS my shopping day, come to think on it!)
thanks fran
Jill, how was the concert the other night?
yw natasha
does sound lovely, LeslieAnn -- maybe when this is done, you'll have a new career as a wedding planner?
Now stidgrant is singing the dolphin
dolphins' song from the new Hitchhiker's Guide movie...
HI everyone
There was an apostle named James the ****
hi turtle!
hi snppng!
hello, hello
absolutely fabulous, stid - not Liszt as advertised, but Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin by a romantic pianist (Andre Laplante) who transported everyone. No coughing from the audience - in the sliences you could hear a pin drop.
I'm stuck on the last four
what do you need snppng?
Does anyone have as6/18 and 7/28?
hi turtle
oh, even better! imho...

natasha, plural of the or5, o + what you do with a book

Just for you LeslieAnn, I will switch back to the icon I had earlier... brb

we actually had a couple cancel on us two months before their wedding.
I hate to get clues and run, but now that I've fed my addiction I must do my contracts homework. See you all after the flip.

bye snppng!
bye, snappie
later turtle!
ooooooooh what a night...
yes jilli! you helped me remember?
Oh, sorry - it's a bit of a blur now
lol!
maybe your smart car is moving too fast, Jill? The brake is the pedal in the middle. Take your foot off the gas, and GENTLY depress the brake...
Is it just me, or has the speed of the pitches increased over the years?
I think they're moving faster douglas... like the child's motor mouth. brb again...
Cardinal gets to first on a third strike getting past Pudge Rodruiguez
stid - I don't drive (often) after 2 vodkas and a glass of wine + fatigue causing the blur - <G>
cards lead again
all right folks, i'd love to stay on all night, but i've got a few more projects to finish. love and kisses to all and see you all when i'm a married lady!
Through hard work and dedication, the Tigers found a way to foul this up...not turning the double play, letting the guy get to first after striking out...etc.
I hope not, Jill! otherwise I would help nut keelhaul you! *stern look* but since I know you are smarter than that... *offers chocolate cupcake and ice cream*
later LeslieAnn -- my heart will be with you! Enjoy your big day!
((((((((LA)))))))))))))) have a wonderful wedding day
yum, stid! thanks

Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. "You also were with Jesus of Galilee," she said. But he denied it before them all. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said. Then he went out to the gateway, where another girl saw him and said to the people there, "This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth." He denied it again, with an ****: "I don't know the man!" After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said, "Surely you are one of them, for your accent gives you away." Then he began to call down curses on himself and he swore to them, "I don't know the man!" Immediately a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: "Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly.

Question: The word "teste" is is in the Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary and found on Dictionary.com. It comes up as "not found in the dictionary." Why wouldn't it be in the Enable Dictionary. Doesn't Enable compile all of those?
I'm quite thankful for the Babble community, where I can be quite the quoter
hi again! my browser froze up, had to restart.
You're under the misconception that the Enable dictionary makes sense, luvmypom...

Ahhh... silly me!! :)
i dont think im going to do much in 18 minutes... what a bummer
luvmypom, according to another site that uses enable, it is not an unabridged dictionary.

Meaningless request for small fixed amount of money each time st4/4 appeared in a crossword puzzle clued as "editing mark" or something like...
They are the best. Sophie will be 2 in February, and Sydney was 1 in June. We call them "the girls" and they keep us laughing all the time. They are definitely "mama's girls" but keep everyone in line. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. After 14 years it's like losing a child, isn't it.

Yes, the one on the left is Sophie. She has more of a fox face. The younger one has the teddy bear face. She was a show puppy, but when her adult teeth came in her bite was off so they retired her. Thanks FranMag. :)
they are too cute - how much do they weigh?
greetings, folks!
Sophie weighs 6 libs. and Sydney is only 4. People always comment on how little they are, but we are used to them so they don't seem small to us.

How big is Ginger Snap?
