okay, back
this is a pretty difficult one i think
Hi everyone - nice and short - but is it nasty?

i don't think it's going to be easy angb!

No - hmmm - I am staring at the first f box - and thinking - no way!
H 7/52
29 here, but only one 7 so far
whew, chic!
Yeah - I can't see any of those F's
Found 1 - phew!

Here is a clue - "between 12 and 20"
f6,33 what you type with

Colhad, I am scratching my head at your comment, I don't get it
Yes thnx lickety - once the brain switched on
I have been doing this for just over a year now -- my anniversary was earlier in the week
Cool GreyWoulf! Mine's coming up in Nov
nevermind
just got lickety's clue, and the 8 that follows
and hello everyone
Hi Nat
I'm not getting lickety's clue.
hi natasha!
shannon - age related
neither am i
wb Natasha
shannon, when you think of the numbers in between 12 and 20 what is common to all of them?
Shannon - did you get the te 4/4 that he was cluing?
I get a 4 from that, not a 7 or an 8
those schottish ha's are back
I got that one.
haet
it is a te 7 and 8 if that helps
Well that is the start of the 7 and 8 - and the same clue fits these as well.
shannon, it's what you call someone that is in that range
Ooh. For some reason I thought the clues were for the f 7 and 8. Thanks.
ok, got the t7 & 8, duh
ohh, got one of the 8s. to be sentenced to death again
re8/60
cool colhad, thanks
thanks colhad
thanks Colhad
np
thanks col -- gave me 4 words with one clue
np
ta, col
anytime
I'm not getting it and I'm a lawyer.
neither am i, and I'm not a lawyer
f 7, pretender
how about put to death again
ha** from the highest tree
shannon - what you do with pictures after you take them down to paint the wall
get a piece of rope, put around your neck, that was capital punishment :)
then past tense it
how about lynched again
arrr
Ahhh.
finally got the f7, thanks wyrd!

d 7/44

hi melon!
ARB - well, it's a small one, I have some time, I thought I'd give it a go - I'm almost run out of steam at 29
hi melon, arb
and hi arb! didn't see you come in
hi ARB
f 7?

Didn't say Shalom, just leaped into the grid

Shabbat Shalom
f7 - one who pretends
hi msilver!
Hi there!
Hey I just found a word that's in more of the 205 last grid's then any other word!
thanks gee
both of them!
hi msilver
that we'd all kick ourselves for missing too! thanks lickety!
is one a worrisome guitar term, lickety?
still erupting
Hi all
...and the other have roots?
melon - not sure what it means
Melon, also the eruptor is here
melon, i think he meant the volcano and the poker bet and the bird
de 7
fran- yeah that's the ones
reuptor?
eruptor?
the thing that erupts
lickety, i was thinking of a word that means either worry or guitar finger-guide
It's also a laboratory vessel
melon, that was an early donation from lickety - lol
yay, greyed out the right side H!
i got the bird & the bet - i'm stupid about the eruptor - can't get past volcano
e4 melon, reverse the bet
it's the bet reversed...
yay, greyed out the whole right side - ;D
the Italian volcano
ohhhhh - that's not proper?
It's the most common word in most of the ppuzzles, Melon. You're just too good at the big complexed words and don't see the little 4 letter ones.
i do think the guitar term show up a lot too
melon, it's also a piece of lab equipment, a burner
yep - me like big words.
melon -- I have seen words accepted where the only def available is the name of an obscure city -- never trust enable..... EVER!
it is proper but enable doesn't care
i'm sure that's exactly it arb!
cities, yes, yet many musical instruments are left out - pipa, for instance.
words sometimes have other meanings, Grey
i can't figure out fr5... can anyone help?
but the volcano is only given the volcano meaning if you click on the ?
that's a poor dictionary
Erda -- I am aware of that, but for some reason, dictionary.com doesn't know half the words that enable uses
ah well -- it must have come free -- the dictionary, that is
jilli, in the third definition down, the lab burner is the second def.
i'm stumped on the gh word - the math don't add up.
erda used a word-a!
enable is available for free as well so why doesn't it provide the defs?
melon, what are the points?
Ok, I'm stuck at 35, am going to the clues page now
that's what i always wonder wolfie!
I just went to the list with 27 to go
fran, I guess I was too lazy to scroll down enough
gh 5/18
melon, i found gh + t*** (stretched tight)
fr5 fr + vowel/consonant/vowel
fr5, plural of the membrane under the tongue
gh5/18, sounds like disease caused by uric acid build up,
or gh + opp. of in, alt. spelling
ooops - i was keying in 4 letters - no wonder!
thanks for that fr5 ML!
thx fran and meta, though i haven't gotten it yet. feeling slow...
greyed out all the Fs!
yw Fran
wow, the clues page does help - got all the A's now
ooh, time to switch icons, brb

The second re6,24?
mkl a queenly place in Canada
Thanks, that took care of all my 7 and 8 letters.
Started and hour and a half ago and have 12 left. Maybe not too good for some, but pretty good for me.
You're welcome mkl
I need help with a simple one. The first re5,14? It's eluding me.
mkl re5/14 re + anag of to chew someones ear verbally
ty
de5,16?
de + anag of alcoholic beverage
Crud. I know that word. Should have seen it.
frances more of de 5,16
frances more of de 5,16
blimey... these small ones are tough... morning all :)
no - crud aint there!
Hi sherb
Good morning/evening all.
Hi Haz
fe6,33?
ne 1 de 5.16?
morning Frances... morning Haz :)
Morning all Everyone arrives at once!
Hello sherb - sorry to run out on you and hurshy yesterday. I really did have a phone call, then my daughter arrived home from town and commandeered the computer!
morning FMitch :) ...and the sun comes out...
Hello Fmitch - bright and sunny here as well.
Hi FMitch
de 5,16 plz
Did everyone (UK that is) remember to put the clock back?
no probs Haz... we managed to limp to the finish line...
mattu Frances clued it at 2.18
hi sherb
help with de 5,16 plz
yes we did good morning everyone
fe6,33?
I knew you'd make it without me!
yep, took me half an hour (including 25 minutes to find the instruction booklets for the boiler, cooker etc...)
you need radio control clocks
mkl Just trying to think how to clue it
morning mattu... morning ros :)
fe6/33 - to be in the process of celebration
fe6/33 celebrating
Thanks Haz. I actually looked at that one a while ago, and didn't type it in.
First ha6,27?
To be in the process of ownership, Scottish style
ha6/27 where they keep planes
To be in the state of ownership might be better.
That's the second one. I need the first one. Thanks though
mkl ha6/27 Scotting for owning
Probably an excellent clue Haz. But it went right over my head.
*Scottish*
mkl - you probably have ha4/5 - two of them relate to the scottish ownership, make it into another verb form.
have = 'hae' in Scots...
can anyone please give me a clue for the re 7/36
morning ruthy :) ...I need that one too...
Think of the queenly place in Canada and add a vowel
if you have the re 6/24, latin plural it
I CANNOT get that ha6,27. Even knowing the first three letters. Frustrating
ownING
mkl - it's the present participle, the active form of the verb.
mkl - are you ha**** a hard time? then swap and e for the v in this word
thanks Frances and Egg :)
hi all! back for my last 7
You're welcome sherb
Welcome back Fran
morning Fran :)
Hello Franmag!
hi again frances!
hi sherb! hi haz!
Hi everyone, Fran - back for my last 10 (I hope)

ty haz
Fireworks

Congrats MKL!
Congrats Ruthy and MKL
Thanks all. Anyone need a clue?
apparently, La Lollo is getting married again... at the age of 79... good luck to her...
Isn't she marrying someone a lot younger?
yep, he's about 45... they've been together for years...
I read that too - a lot younger
Yep. I don't care if she is almost 80. He's a lucky dog. (pant,pant)
Haz - there aren't many left that old - so I suppose she has no choice
....but he does so there must be something
fireworks for me
yay hannah lou!!
wtg hannah lou
ok, the top left F... I have the partying... and the lines on paper... but what are the others?
wd hannah
bye everyone
Congratulations Hannah!
well done hannah :)
bye ruthy :)

bye hannah lou!
Better late than never I guess
thanks anyway Fran and Frances :) ...bye hannah :)
clue for the other 8? ...I have what I was some years ago...
re8/60 sherb, put to death again
Oh no - not getting anywhere - 9 left and I think I'll have to get the list
think old west (of america)
thanks Fran! :)
angb, i have two left, no list yet!
yw sherb!
what letters are you missing Fran?
I was trying - but absolutely stuck - even worse 4 of them are 4 letters LOL
i'm missing a T and an I
egan
egan

Not too much of a hint I hope
there is 2 tr4.4s Fran

how many letters in your missing T?
And I am sorry but all the t's are normal words - so you will find it!
my T is a 4! i'm going to look by myself for a while
ok... :)
Fran do you have the bell soung?
fireworks!!!!
Congrats Fran!
thank goodness i didn't ask for a clue for that one!
Well done - Fran and without the list.
yes frances, i had that one
without the list, but not without a lot of great clues from the chat log!
the first re6.24 does it relate to the queen as well pls
No lynxxx
not sure lynxxx, but it's an anagram of it
no... but it's an anag lyn
Although it is an anagram of it.
TY Ang
Great. I'm off. See you all tomorrow. Bye.
bye Frances :)
See ya Frances
bye frances!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>gone
Bye Frances.
TY Ang - Fireworks
Congrats lynxxx
my last word was what you did with your shoelaces! i don't know how i missed that one!
yay lynxxx!!!!
LOL fran - jonathon got that one for me!
i'm just glad i didn't ask for a clue! talk about passing a fish!
We all do that - why I am holding off on the list - could be embarassing what I have missed!
probably not angb, there are a lot of different words today.
Ah, but nobody need know......
I won't tell !
Yes, but I will LOL
hi fmitch!
ok, missing a 7... I have de, fe, re, te...
he sherb
he7/52
thank you both... that one should have been obvious... :)
I so enjoyed the 1st 54 words now I hate the grid :(
You're welcome, sherb.
i know what you mean fmitch!
lol Fran
hi everyone
would anyone like a clue before i head off to quote-puzzler?
hi andree!
hi Andree
Hello Andree.
hi Andree :)
thanks Fran... happy still monkey typing... :)
okay, see you all later (or tomorrow)...night!!
see you fran
later Fran... good luck on QP :)
bye fran
Bye Fran and Hi everyone I havent greeted yet.
Hi FMitch
Fran - you still here?
Good Morning all!
Hi Flask
ooh... woodpecker in the garden... we don't see those very often...
Good morning, Flask!
morning Flask :)
We don't have woodpeckers - how lovely
Hey Haz!!.....I need to ask you a question?
never seen one in the flesh sherb, lucky you
it about the grid
hi flask
Hi all,,,,
Fire ahead Flask.
sherb, green one or black and while one?
Haz!.....I know the blacked out boxes means there are no words leading from those letters....however,
does it also mean the letters are not in use for other words??....surely not??
green one... the first time, I saw one, I wondered what it was... I had to look it up in a book... I thought it was a small parrot!
Has anyone a clue for the first ha 6/27?
No, it doesn't mean that. It just means that there is no word that begins with that particular letter in that position.
we do get parrots round here...
no flask, just nothing starting with those letters
ha6/27 - Scottish ownership, develop from some of the ha4/5 words
Thats lovely sherb, haven't seen one of those in years.
I dunno why that came into my head this morning!!!
a place to keep your plane angb
Thanks Haz!!
Don't think it can be Andree - it has three wierd letters at the beginning.
You must have had a rush of blood to the head! Enjoy the grid anyhow, now that that confusion has been cleared up
the second ha6/27 is a thing to ha4 your clothes on... a plane might be stretching it a bit...
Yes I shall!!
only ha6/27 I have angb
OK - I'll keep looking
only 30 words so haven't much
Andree - ha6/27 I clued below- h plus three vowels in a row.
Sorry, I should have said Angb.
You are joking Haz - I had thought that might be ... but thought - no way! Off to look
are there 2 re6's or 3?
No joke!
3 sherb
I have three at the minute, sherb.
thx haz, would have never found that
You're welcome, Andree.
Ah it makes sense now ... thanx Haz.
thanks Haz... I'll try monkeying for the 3rd for a bit...
Glad to help, Angb.
oh no... should have seen that one...
and with what should have been a very obvious a5... fireworks...
Well done!
yay sherb
Good one sherb
Sherb how about a clue for the 2nd re 5/14
Congrats, sherb !!!!!
Congrats sherb!
re5/14 = re + ***ella Lawson...
Thnx sherb -
is ***ella known in NZ?
everywhere I think sherb
I had to think for a while ... had a series maybe 5 years ago?
I don't know who ***ella is......
The food was a bit flashy for Kiwis.
I just kept wanting to tell her to roll her sleeves up and get an apron on.
shops here are full of her crockery line angb
Though we do like that bloke who swears a lot - the restaurant cehf
tv chef and food writer...
All the restaurant chefs swear a lot! Gordon Ramsay, or Jamie Oliver?
Really - our supermarkets are full of frozen meals - don't think we cook anymore.
and tie her hair back!
Haz - Gordon Ramsey -
ok..so why cant i have henge?
uses heaps of butter and cream and never gains a kilo
Definately Gordon Ramsey
Cause you are not allowed Rolin - Hi
I love Gordon... best restaurant meal I have ever eaten was at his place in Chelsea...
lol.gee thx angb... but its a real word
Bet it was nice ... haven't had a nice meal for ages - must lose the kids
He doesn't gain weight because he runs marathons!
Aaah possibly rolin - but not in Scotland where we seem to be stuck today
It
Tiny grid today. What's today's theme?
It's the stress and anxiety I reckon - anyone that frantic couldn't put weight on
high metabolism...
He runs as well, Angb - he takes part in charity marathons.
tiny but not easy , unless its just me, hi matty
I meant miss lawson about the weight, lol
just looked at your icon Angb... I love NZ Sauvignon Blanc... my current favourites are Waimea, Villa Maria and Drylands...
We like our chefs big - looks like they enjoy there food.
Sorry - I thought you meant Gordon! Miss Lawson claims to not care about her weight.
Andree not puting on an ounce is all part of being a Domestic Godess (in her world anyway).
You must make sure the SBs are from the Marlborough region - The East Coast / Hawkes Bay ones are not the same soil. But they reputedly are some of the best in the word. And Oyster Bay is simply delicious
Haven't tried Drylands. Must look out for it.
I am on my last word - and it's a 4 letter t word LOL
Haz if I had a figure like hers I wouldn't worry about my weight either
I know - she has curves but they go in and out in the right places!
Yeh found it - fireworks. Thanks for all the help everyone.
a clue please for FE6
yay angb
Think of galas and doing them
fe6/33 - to be in the process of celebration. Think of summer fairs and add a verb ending.
ok...thanks!
well done Angb :)
Odd word that one
I saw it ages ago...but dismissed it!!...that'll teach me!
I was very pleased with myself - took the list with 9 to go - and only 1 of the words were anything I had heard before.
Mind you there were many clues from the chat log.
I have 44 left, may have to get list soon, at a standstill
I had better be off to bed unless anyone would like a clue.
other 3 f words angb please
Are the 8s real words?
Yes matty
Yes, they are, matty.
nite Ang :)
the one i have is matty
Do you want the stats Andree?
please angb
ok, I'm off to do Sunday morning things... later all :)

Bye sherb - I'm off as well. Have a good day, everyone.
See ya sherb
bye haz
See you Haz and thanks for your help
TTFN HAz
Byeeee!
Well I'm off as well - enjoy your babbling everyone who's left.

Good Morning All, hints for the 8's please. not liking this grid
The years between 13 - 20, Peri.
morning everyone!
Having killed again with a noose, is the other.
thanks matty
Is the time showing on the grid right, or is it still an hour behind?
morning peri, conXshun & matty
Hi ren8
hife
sorry, least it is not a word in the grid
yep - one of those grids ren!
any clues for the HA6/27 plz?
a thing you put clothes on
One before that (sorry should have specified!)
words are so obvious when a good clue is given, thanks ConX
ah.. erm... apparently a scottish word for owning
yw peri!
TY conxshun!
:)
only have one 7 relating to years between 13-20 any clues for the others
past tense it peri
I did, ConX
those te's are often de7/44 wen asked to do something peri
thanks mould, never would have found that one
ah - othr 7's... sorry peri
fe7/48 a pretender, someone who fe5/16s
I have another 7 letter
np peri, i only have those ones so far
go ahead 'nother
didn't see what you'd put mouldy - think mines the same word as yours
mouldy- have the fe5/16 but can't get the fe7
someone who fe5/16s interest would be a fe7/48 -- typical ending for a person who does something
the 7/48 builds off the f5/20 not the 5/16
oh so sorry - misread my own list, thanks fmitch
thanks FMitch, I figured it out
wonder i lost y'all
yw :)
tho really one would think that both should work
any clues for the he 7/52?
Con- do you have the he4/8 - if so add an ending
I have the he4/8 - am looking...
ty peri! nice sound to it ;)
NP :)
thanks peri - got it too
a clue please for the ha6/27...the FIRST one
I need that one too, Flask
ha 6/27 scottish for having
it's like owning... without the 'v'
ok peri....thanks
thanks ConX
thanks psymeg
6 to go.... all a's
It works Peri!
yw peri
thankyou ConX
np flask
clue for the re7 please
1 to go... a silly 4 letter 'a' word and I can't find it... come on monkies!
plural of latin queens peri
that doesn't help me Conx :(
helped me - thanks con
dya have the re6/24 peri?

a clue please for the he7
put an ending on what you typed in the wrong box
can't find either E word

this game is horribly addictive - it's only my third day of playing but I keep coming back for more instead of getting on with what I should be doing
very addictive I know, being playing for ages now and not a day goes by when I don't play unless on holiday
Oh dear Anotherone......you're trapped...lolol

Now...I play just for pleasure....meaning I don't fret if I don't finish....especially the biggies!
It is nice to finish though Flask, so I try to do it everyday but my 3yr old has other plans
hello everyone....I like to try to finsh too, but don't worry too much if I can't anymore !
I bet he/she does!
bbl
Hi Karys....long timeno see!

you got re6/27 flask? if so - plural it
I have just found te7!!
te7/36 is what you are between 13 and 20
I don't have the re6
anyone have a clue for fe6/33 please
it's latin for queen
fe 6/33 is celebrating -out in the open in the summer...

that sounds good faerie, it's hard work isn't it ?
I want to move one these "T's" please
a clue please for re8/60
a clue for an5/10 please
add to re6/27
Ren8 its the only A I don't have
just found it myself ren !!...add a cons to the an4/4
cheers Karys
have you found the re8 yet Flask?
can someone tell me why I can only see one 'n' !!!
there is only 1 N
Karys same reason I can't move a "T"
aahh...that must be it faerie !
What do you meen by move a T feriekae?
there are 4 'n's cissy

Biltong refresh your page
Bilt, try rebooting. Sounds like a computer glitch
I actually shut down my pc last night when I had completed the grid. Now it comes up with the exact same grid, and doesn't even show that I have completed.
sounds like an uncleared cache of the page, bilt. Best I can think of
Thanks, Wolvie and inge. I am going to shut down again. Catch you later.

Hi Cliff
hey cliff, i tried wearing that coat down, and it won't do at all.
thanks inge!!
well, i've got 16 to go, and i've found the 8's and 3 7's, so i'm feeling like it is a good day
Hurshy you do know there are FIVE 7's...don't you??
yes flask - i'm just pleased i found 3 all by myself :)
nut - does that mean you won't need a matching scarf?
Oh god!!....I certainly know THAT feeling!!!..lolol
is it a hard grid since theres only 84 words?
nope, won't need it...i can't hardly make it up that hill in that coat. so i would freeze, scarf or no
not so much, shorty
ok cool ty
once I got going, it was smooth sailing up to ---the last 14!!!
I am finding it to be difficult but am more than half way through.
*nods* the dreaded 15
i mean 14
can't see the an5/10
I though inflation had hit!
NM found it
oh yay we have the lovely re's
seinfeld insult: regift doesn't count!
wooyoo my q's are done!!!!!
de5/16?
woohoo-
*confused* if re5/14 is latin for queen, why can't we do the latin pl on it?
trey the re6 variant. That can be Latin pl'ed.
("Try" I mean)
ah, thanks vi!
Perhaps the re6 will de5/16 to let you kiss her hand.
thanks Vicuna
good morning everyone!
hi charm!!
got to get milk before the church crowds hit. See you all later
phantoms: engine, hauteur
Hi, Annie
Hello, Charm.
Inge, I know exactly what you mean! I plan my day the same way.
Hey, Vic
why can we have a person who fe 5/20's but not a person who fe 5/16's? they are practically the same thing!
(Goes to look for fe5/20 so she can respond to rhetorical question...)
:)
(I mean fe5/16. Maybe I'd have better luck if I could keep track of what I was looking for.)
almost integer!
Ah. Got it. In answer to the question... No idea!
and if you can have a tr4/4house, i should think a tr4/4hut would work too (only half serious on that one)
It is a continuing thorn in my side that they won't accept "henge."
*gets some liniment*
*Mutters* I'd rather have a REAL dictionary...
OED?
Fireworks! This was a nice little grid ... a good start to my day.
Yay for Merk!
yay Merk!
hey merk, are there any gh's?
congrats, merk
ti5/10 please
hurshy, one gh 5.18
yuck
exactly
got it!
i gots de7, fe7, re7, and te7... what does the last 7 start with?
he7
he7/52
sneaky little participle!
can't see the ti5/10
peri - a metal + 2 vowels
Thanks. Did all you US people enjoy your extra night of sleep?
how about dh, are there any of those nasty little buggers?
oui oui merk!
OMG thanks hurshy, for some reason I am have lots of trouble finding the words today, maybe it is because of turning the clocks back :)
My favorite night of the year in that respect.
Daylight savings doesn't give us a whole extra night, Merk!
Peri, perhaps you get thrown off just like the wee ones.
And, alas, children cannot be reset as easily as clocks...
down to the dreaded 14
No, but it's a night I enjoy because of the hour.
lol - is the dreaded 14 spreading?
the only problem with an extra hour of sleep is that my cats were not in sync. they were attacking me for their breakfast when i got up.
I have 14 left, too!
LOL vicuna
Hi folks. 9 left here. My cats haven't put their body clocks back an hour!:(
bye everyone
bye annie
ooh, jacs, i know you have switched your icon but i'm still seeing the leaves... pretty!
bye annie
my grandfather abso facto lutely refused to change his clocks on the farm, he said the chickens didn't change their clocks, so neither would he.
Hi Hursh. Yes, the leaves are pretty. I'll probably use them again.
morning, Jac.
Morning Charm. Nut - LOL.
we could start a letter writing campaign to get rid of time changes - they are no longer necessary...
ummmm Jac I like your icon LOLOLOL
ommi gosh jac, your icon is cracking me up.
naughty jac
*grins broadly* re icon.
hursh, you don't think the time changes are necessary?
we are no longer a primarily agrarian society...
i disagree
I love your icon, Jacula
What theme is your icon related to, Jac?
a clue please for 5/14 ??
Ooops!
Any particular 5/14?
AN5/14 please!!
Vicuna - Today's theme is 'guilty pleasures'. Chocolate counts.
you might be feeling this at yourself for forgetting that AN
Vic....this is me getting better...lolol
jac apparently likes to munch on little willies
an5/14 - ire
Ahh. Chocolate, yes. And maybe some other things...
Nut - LOL!
thqnks Vic and anyone else who has helped me today!!!

re6/24 ends in a drink I like with lemon and tonic
1st re5/14?

thanks Fiona
hi everyone

don't get the whole latin queen thing. More help, please!
salve re6...
F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S any one yet?
FIREWORKS for me too!
latin queen is opp of rex.
sorry really dense today
cya all tomorrow
lol, just thought how funny it would be if you said female tyrannosaurs were tyrannosaurus re5 or 6!
sexist dino naming....
They conveniently forget that usually the females are deadlier.
feeling like a space invader...he's hooked, he's hooked, his brain is cooked
KnightRider, are you saying you are addicted to this game?
just a`little and at the same time so clueless
knightrider- the Latin queen can be broken into a man's 3-letter name short for ***inald, a preposition opp of out and the indefinite article
2 left to find here - both 're' words. I'll look for them later - have to accompany other half to the rubbish dump now. (No, not dumping HIM!)
Good morning Babblers.
Hi, scrabbler
de 7/44 any clues?
I forgot to turn the clocks back last night, so when I read the paper this AM, it was 8 instead of 9. I love the extra hour!
Oh, found 'em! (To do with the noose again.) FIREWORKS.\:)
de7 the ship that khan stole and blew up in an attempt to kill capt kirk
Yipppeeee Jacula!
love star trek-but cant remember the ships name any other clues
de7 describes someone who does something after they've been told not to do it
de7 how a child usually is
de7 = opp of to comply
?destroyer
and congrats, Jac!!
de7 is when you are bold and stand up to people
de7 = When you ask a person between 12 & 20 (te8/55) to do something they don't want to do, they give you 'that' look... de7!
ty all got it
jacs, i got de4, 7, 4, 5, what do i miss?
I got it. I am getting familiar with the grid. Still constipated with E's, but not as bad as yesterday.
well done majmom!
hursh - another de4 after the first one.
ty
can i have a point total, please?
hursh - de4/5, de4/8.
no no, i got the d, i want the whole big point total
hursh - sorry! 1179 points.
thanks jac :) :) :)
Jacula, my downstairs rabbit, Callie, just stretched out on her belly, and is staring at me play Babble. I think I hear her laughing.
Oh my, Jacula, I just looked at your icon close up! I almost spewed coffee out my nose.
Scrabbler - Are you sure she's not just being de7?:)
Scrabbler - LOL re the icon. Sorry!
5/20's
Oh, she IS quite the sassy bunny. She nips my ankles when she wants another snack. I tell her to go eat her hay like a good little bunny.
Hi Charlotte
hi
jacs... hmm... one fi6 or two?
Jacula, I had seen in the recent log that nut, I think, told you to munch on your little willies and I wondered what was up. Now I get it.
Hursh! ROFLOL! Scrabbler - I like to bring a little humour to the log.
um... jacs, that was a question about word count, i now see how it could be misconstrued...
*blushes* Oops!
Great job, Jacula. You made my day.
Only one fi6, hursh.
F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S
thanks jacs :) ;)
WHOOOOOEEEEEE Charlotte2.
Well done charlotte.
I must away to the dump now. Might BBL. Happy Babbling.x
congrats Charlotte
ok, um, charlotte is just putting you on. she's a very well camouflaged troll but i don't think she actually plays.
Is that true Miss Charlotte2? Tell us the truth now.
expecting truth from a troll is like... looking for meaning in a pauly shore movie, as cher from clueless would say
LOL
It is so windy here that I expect Dorothy and Toto to show up soon.
it's a twister! it's a twister!
i need an h6... i have 2 to do with ha4/7...
Auntie Em, Auntie Em!!!!
I'm alooking.
good morning
oh wait... unLESS there is an fr6.
Hi Jane. Did you set your clocks back one hour? I forgot!
hi Scrabbler.. you must be getting our winds from yesterday.. they were FIERCE... with lots and lots of rain.. this morning is pretty, blue skies.. wishing that for your tomorrow.. Just popped in to say HI as I finished the grid. See all you babblers tomorrow.. anyone need a clue before I leave BabbleLand?
yes alo, i need either an fr6 or an h6 besides the 2 to do with the 4/7, which is it?
Yup, Al, we have had big winds since last evening. Branches and twigs all over the place.
hi hurshy... think of the place , ar***, where sports are played indoors... and start it with the fr.. does that help?
yes, indeed it does, now i just need an h6, yay
not sure which h6 you need.. ha6/27, perchance?
morning all, happy time change day. 1st ha6/27?
it deffo is a 6/27, but i have the one with clothing
so i guess by smaller's request it is before that...
Good morning, all. Why are the small grids always on the weekend and the big grids when I'm working? Heavy winds here too Scrabbler!
I only get a fr5 from that clue, Al. Morning smaller--I love the extra hour.
first three letters rhyme with what horses eat, add the gerund ending
ewww, thanks alo, what an impossible word to think of on one's own!!
ciociajudy, preachin' to the choir on that one!
Hi Judy. We're blowing in the wind.
scrabbler, the word was an fr5.. yw, hurshy... weirdo word for sure
thanks aloyisus!
I hear ya smaller. Ditto for me Scrabbler. (And I really do have an "Auntie Em"! LOL)
hi Judy... lots of bird activity this morning.. smart birds are flocking and getting out of here!
I hate to see them go, Aloy. I know that means winter is fast approaching. I have a large window feeder in my bedroom next to my computer. I'm watching them munching right now.
The squirrels are having a buffet with all of the birdfeeders spilling seeds from the winds.
lol scrabbler, yes, i set most of them back an hour but I messed up when i was setting the one in the bedroom off. So we woke up with no clue about the time....
black oiled sunflower seeds, judy?
at least I'm not playing music in church today, i would have showed up an hour early!
In this window feeder, I have a chickadee mix with nuts and sunflower seeds. I have a hanging feeder on the deck with oiled sunflower seeds that I can't seem to keep filled!!!
I totally forgot about the time change until I looked at the newspaper. Then it was a big "YES!" I would have showed up at the wrong time for Mass.
My bird friends like the black oil sunflower seeds the best. And the squirrels like eating from the squirrel "proof" feeders--hanging upside down.
this time of year's not as bad as the one in the spring, when you show up late! besides I can always use an extra hour of sleep
well, I guess it is time for this bird nerd, word nerd, to get some breakfast vittles... have worked up an appetite.. nice chatting with you all.. see you tomorrow, hopefully: bye, Babblers!
I think "squirrel proof feeders" is just a selling gimmick!
bye aloy. have a great day.
hunker down, Scrabbler.. the winds will pass.. I'm really gone now... a great day to you, too..*poof*
hi gang
{{{chj}}}

Hi GG--everytime I see your name here I laugh about your son Andrew!

It IS fun, Patty, and addicting.
there is a 7 letter de word?? ugh...
yes it is patty,
if you are excited to do something then you are ea*** to do it...minuts the second vowel
de5/16?
I don't have that one...
degit
sorry again!
Just realised that I didn't change my icon
de 5/16 rhymes with what a queen does (re***)
hardly surprising I didn't get it, huh? Got it now though.

hi babblers, anyone got the second re6/24, the one after the ex president sound-a-like

morning babblers!
smaller, i dont have that one yet
looks like a shortie today
no-one clued it for me...sniff <looks hurt>
i hate "r"
Hi pappa--some weird words though
R + E = trouble
seano, it's b/c you're so important and no one wants to screw it up. see? it's a flattering when one is ignored!
42 down...42 to go...
i tell myself that all the time when i'm ignored. lololol
1/2-way GG
im not ignoring, honest, i just havent had enough coffee yet
just got the second re6/24....it is the r in queen elizabeth ER if that helps
am I too important too? what the hell is the gh?
fe7?
<beams> thanks then .....i guess ;-)
fe 7, a pretender

scrabbler-someone who does fe5
gh..sounds like an arthritic disease
TY Eva, that was easier than I expected.
gh +***hor a (book writer)
re6/24? i have no idea what that clue meant.
Oh, of COURSE, a gh***!! How did I miss that?!!!!
I never heard of a gh5
me neither
lizmac, b/c you are too SMART for that word. ...again, another thing I tell myself when i don't get a word
any clues for the 8's?
t past tense of the 7
te to be exact
Niether have I, just an ironic comment on some of the words!
google queen elizabeth ER to find the re6/24
hmm...don't have any of those te's yet
not a child and not an adult
what you were when you were not in your 20's and not 12 years old
why does it keep saying word cant be added please try again in a minute?
does the te7 build off the te4?
probably lag green
yes jane
it just does that sometimes, gree
yes
it is annoying...
OOOOOH got it!
:)
the 8's not REALLY the past tense, since the 7 isn't a verb
The program is being de7 to you, GG
oh pretty fireworks!
Wowwwwweeee bonkler
te****** mutan nigan turtle
what is a nigan mama?? lol
congrats bonkler!!
ninga
ninga

Or even ninja
ninja??
there ya go.. shows ya what i know
You know phonics

yikes, who's
need clues?
Where have you been hurshy? Resetting clocks?
sorry hursh...
see....now you've offended hurshy by not being inclusively offensive
I can't win either way...
i was at chapel :)
now that's a place to offend some folk hurshy!
i'm done anyway. doing sudoku now. but i do so love putting people between rocks and hard places.
ah, but i wouldn't, bonkler
anyway i only offend people accidentally. except mikey.
It was not done intentionally...and is that anyway to act after being in chapel all morning?? :)
I like that sudoku game too
<---equal opportunity offender
you should try sikaku, it is tres fun.
babblers
Good morning chj--how is Italy today?
I am afraid to ask what sikaku is...I don't want to offend, but is it spelled right, or is it a different game?
I am walking on broken eggshells over here trying to figure out what is proper etiquette, and what isn't...
Me too, GG.
as spokesperson for the international committee for the preservation of eggshells, i take great umbrage with the walking upon of this calcium rich resource...hmmmph
LOL bonkler.
oh my...
is douglas here? i'd really like to offend him ;-)
fe 6/33 please
oh um, greengeeny, yes, sikaku is a different game
how cute is that pup??
fe6 fe + ti4/6
fe + cross + gerund ending
what is it?
fe6/33 = partying in Fr.
i have to ask what kind of puppy you have jeff... i just got a maltese... love him to pieces even though i'm big dog person
are we sure this puzzle is using English words?
it is a rectangle, of any size. some of the squares within the rectangle have numbers in them, and you have to draw rectangles around each number that have the area of that number, and figure out how to make all the rectangles fit together and not overlap.
Sounds like a recipe for insanity, just like big Babble grids.
my pup is Mr. Winkle from mrwinkle.com....long story behind the dog...i met him at book "signing" he did in NY
sounds interesting
if you google sikaku, there is a german website that comes up that has 50 puzzles, and if you use the "translate this page" feature, it's not too bad.
He is SO darn cute!
i mean, you don't even have to translate it if you have already understood the directions.
I would need to translate...
thanks for the fe clues
1st in5?
I am going to check it out...not today...I have to pull a double at work today, but definitely tomorrow
in***national
Long day ahead, GG.
in5/10 = to be still, static.
TY Charm, the second in5 is an anagram of the 1st--a big duh for me. I gave up too soon.
oh yeah...go in at noon and get out around 10:30...I usually am a part-timer, but they needed the extra help today
So your husband is in charge of the monkeys?
24 left...
yes...only once in a great while on sunday...gives him a taste of fun
fr 5/16 please
fr5/16 = fr + x*** warrior princess.
fr + sports are played in an ar***
speaking of monkeys, the little one is bouncing on my lap right as we speak...can I have more waffles? Oh come on mom...more waffles
ty
the only one i didn't monkey type lol
and he is probably covering you with maple syrup that is all over his body and clothes?
he is trying to...it is a game...
for him atleast...
Daddy to the rescue...
Jeff7 what a cute picture!
it's mr winkle cherry
mrwinkle.com
he was a rescued dog
by a great photographer
I have to get ready for the rest of the day...24 left...see ya tonight after work...

fi 6/33 please
fi6 = I have 10 of them on my two hands.
ty-shoulda looked down LOL
=8-)
Jeff-- I am looking at Mr Winkle's web site. What kind of dog is he, how much does he weigh, and how old is he?
ok. have fun babbling and see y'all tomorrow.
he's part pom and is about 5 pounds, i think
not sure of his age
Since when is regift not a word? Seinfeld made that popular .
he has 3 books out + lots of merchandise which raises money for animal causes

I will have to ask my daughter for a photo of Hercules and Eyeore, whom I have never seen yet. They live in Las Vegas
Years ago I went with my mother and a few other ladies to the Fisher Theater to see Yul Brenner in the King And I. It was wonderful,is that the Fisher you are talking about?
Well, the DSO performs in the new Max Fisher Hall, no relation to the Fisher building on Grand Blvd. built in 1928 by the seven Fisher brothers (body by Fisher!)
We always try to walk German tourists thro the Fisher Building, because of all the art work
I see, your a little more up on that then I am. Isn't the art work beautiful?
The last ga 4? I think I've monkeyed every possible combination but clearly I haven't.
yes, of those ladies in the ceiling no two are alike, I think there are 36 of them
ga 4 : ga + ** gative
Who did the paintings do you know?
one moment, please, I just pulled out the folder
I've got that one and its anagram. Also the
60 nude figures are symbolic muses, and no two alike, to artist is mentioned
* no, not to
Finished at last
I haven't been in that building since sometime in the late '60s. Funny the artist isn't mentioned. In the depression artists were in no position to demand recognition but 1928 is too early for that.
bravo, faerie
Thanks Inge :)
Imagin all of that painting done by an unknowen artist, what a shame!
way to go faeriekae
Thanks Hodag
I found it, Artwork decorations in Arcade areas were done by Geza Maroti, who was brought from Hungary to Cranbrook Art Academy by Eiel Saarinen. marati was responsible of rfrescoes, lunettes, plaques and mosaics
They pride themselves more in the diff. kinds of marble used
marble came from 41 diff. veins all over the world
How amaizing. Inge, you are truely a book of knowledge
dent
oops
no I am not, I was copying from the brochure for the Fisher Building
Oh well I still find it all veery interesting lol!
I looked up Maroti in Goggle. This Fisher Bldg. Arcade doesn not seem to be his most famous work
is anybody still doing the grid?
Maybe it is just you and me, Hodag, then I will go "home" as well

Got it. There has to be another one.
Faerie, have you had a chance to check your email since you got back?
sally, the other 2 appear to be scottish

hi everyone!
hi stid
you already ate, Stid? wow, that was quick
Last ga 4/6 is anagram of first ga 4/6
Ooops ...
anagram of second ga4/6
yeah, stid everything was wonderful, everything was perfect
I was so happy,, I made Nick a photo album of pictures of us growing up with space for his new life to grow from there and he crtied when I gave it to him, he also cried when leslie stepped into the doorway
wow NatLT..what an awesome gift!!
he gazed at her the whole wedding, there was tons of dancing all night long it was perfect
it really was great (about 100 picture and 300 spaces to grow on)
then today, my parents and I took all the presents to their apt (the flight was super early) AND cleaned their apartment for them, so that they wont have to when they get back
I have both of them. With four letters anagrams go only so far. Is there a letter that doesn't appear in either of them (and isn't a d) that I'm missing?

sally, which ha 6?
There are two ha 6. Both have to do with suspend
thanks Kitrine
and the third ha 6, which is actually the first, is an extension of the ha 4 prior to it
he 7/52 : preceding he4/8 + present continuous
or as purple says, present continuous
te 7/36?
te 7/36 :period of passage from childhood to adulthood

Any clue for fe 5/16, the one after the pretender?

don't pity this mac user, lol! que j'aime mon/ma mac!
stidgmere and gpere took a drive through the mountain passes today -- missed out on the big snow at Snoqualmie Pass by heading west over Cayuse pass to come home. They had a good time.

Jilli! Vous avez même l'accent québécois. C'est fantastique.

It's the latin queen ibdawger

kitrine, it's Latin for queen. There's a town in Saskatchewan by that name
Sorry, I meant Kitrine

oh, button, maybe you meant the other re6/24 which is an anagram of that
Which re6/24, Buttonman? The Queen word that rhymes with female 'down-below' (LOL) or the one before it, which is an antibody associated with VD, hyafever & asthma. (re + an a4/6 word)?

yw button
bryson makes me laugh too, jac
Ping - Also read 'Born To Be Mild' about growing up in Britain in the late 60s/early 70s. Probably wouldn't translate well in US.

Need a clue for the ni 6/30 and the first ha 6/27 please
Got the ti word Jilli, thanks

button, digit, phalange, on your hand
Anyway, Ping, back to Bill Bryson. The first book of his I ever read (well, heard, as I got a tape of it) was 'Down Under', the Australian adventures. I could hardly read for laughing when he panicked in some woods when he thought something was chasing him and raced through rocks and trees, finally ending up in a startled housewife's back garden.
I am so blind, thanks IBD!
Ping - I have written them in the past. Not recently though.
np button
i read the bryson book about the appalachian trail
into the woods i think

ahh the de****** ones, great movie. or what many kids become
right a walk in the woods
de7 -- when someone is told to do something and says "IWON"T!"
and i think i read something he did about living in england
Buttonman - de7/44 = how a te8/55 child (twixt 12 & 20) looks at you when you ask them to do something they don't want to do.

Babblet 'cwrth' was in the Daily Mail 'shortest/hardest crossword' today.
cwrth? I meant crwth!
sounds like a welsh word
No one noticed Jacula
It is a Welsh word, chj. That's why I'm blushing at having spelled it incorrectly.
Well, I had my Babble meet-up password, 'etnaywiscrwthfetainia!' all memorised in the hope of meeting Atalante whilst in Circencester - didn't see her though.
(Incidentally, one of the Babblets listed within that password IS in today's grid.)
I wonder if will shortz had a secret chuckle over that, chj
Hi libarebel. A chuckle over what?
the crossword word...
hi lib
scroll back just a little...
hi, ping!

marvy greeny
I have the last two ti's...and they deal with color
ty nut
yw
greengeeny - ti5/10 sounds like an ear complaint. That is followed by ti4/6 - which is the sound a small bell makes when struck. Then ti5/14 - a slight hue of colour.
do you have the ones above them that mean just a little bit of color. a slight ti***?
my bio clues one of them

Nut - Oh, right - re the towl. I know nothing of US sports. That's why I usually amble off to play WebBoggle or something if the discussions of such are on here.
i wish our football would gain international popularity
Mind you, WebBoggle must be one of the most unstable sites I've ever played on.:(
Not the people, the site! It wobbles frequently.
you eman top hurler on your track team
about webboggle.... I've heard a couple of folks talk about it here. What is it and how can I find it??
sunny - hang on and I'll post the address for you.
*ignores chj's comment*
sunny - http://weboggle.shackworks.com/
sunny - play under the name Team Babble (exactly as I've typed it) if you want to join up with other Babblers playing on the 5x5 grid.
thanks Jacula.
y/w, sunny.
ni6/30 is a very silly extension of ni4/7! I've never heard it used in everyday conversation.
ni4/7 is a familiar word to me from the evening hymn... 'Now the day is over, night is drawing ni4/7; shadows of the evening fall across the sky...'
were you a girl scout ?
sunny - I was a girl guide for a short time, but the hymns I learned through going to a Church school (both infants and juniors).
We had to sing the evening hymn after we'd tidied up, put our chairs atop our desks and before we could all charge out and go home.
oh. we sang a similar song to close our guide sessions.
2 left ---fr 5/16 and ge 4/6.....clues...help
Annie - Hi. fr5/16 is the plural of the bit of membrane that holds your tongue down, and also is present on the male foreskin.
ge4/6, Annie, is an abbreviated man who is polite.
(Think men's toilets, Annie, and remove the plural letter!)
a flounder for ge 4/6 and the other fr I have no idea
hi all!
hi Fran!!!!
Hi Franmag.
hi annie! how are you?
hi jac!
fine Fran and you and kids???
just great annie!
foreskins and toilets, hmmmm
jac, your chocolates are...interesting! love the name.
ge4/6 - a mild man?
Fran - yes. LOL.
Jac, I have that one
need the fr 5/16
annie, for the fr5, take my name, put the vowel at the end and put a different vowel in the middle.
fr5/16 - fr + Mrs. Sharples (from very early Coronation Street episodes).
Fran, thank you!!!
I am done, fireworks!!!!
(Lady with the hairnet, Annie.)
Well done, Annie! (Would you have got the Coronation Street reference?)
i only know that word because i had my fr**um (singular of that word) removed.
((annie/frannie))
yay annie!!!!
hi all -- Jacula! where have you been?
YAY Annie!
hi nutty!!
Jac, I have never seen an episode of Coronation Street
hi stid!
Hi stid. I've been away in the Cotswolds. Went from Worcestershire, through Gloucestershire and just into Wiltshire.
nut, i loved that twilight zone episode, the original and the remake!
hi {{{{{nutsy}}}}
why did you have your tongue altered Fran?
Weather was awful! We came back a day early.
ha ha, i don't know one from the other, but i thought it was great
sorry to hear that Jacula -- is it any nicer at home?
hi nut!
stid, apparently my fr**um was attached too high on my tongue and it lacked mobility
63 miles from home... the water was totally different, the prices were for Americans and the locals were very friendly.
hi stidsterammera!
oh -- glad they could fix it... (it is fixed now, right?) were you little when they did that?
FranMag - known in the medical profession as 'tongue-tied'.
when the dentist recommended the surgery, i had a little sore on it from when my boyfriend at the time had, er..."pulled" it a little too vigorously.
jac, what's prices were for americans mean??
no stid, not little at all, didn't know i had a problem til the dentist pointed it out.
ROFLMAOH!
owie, Fran...
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
You also have a frenulum attaching your top lip to your top gum. I have a biggish gap (like Madonna) between my two top, middle teeth. They wanted to cut the lip join to 'cure' it. I said, 'NO!'
hello Min! doing well tonight. yourself?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
let's just say his tongue won the wrestling match!!
good for you, Jacula!
hi min!
We had an extra to do puzzle and we get s hort one!
hello
LOL Min! exactly what I thought this morning!
hi minver!
anyone need clues?
I didn't take advantage of the extra hour because I started very late & still have a lot of words left to go
hey nut, you okay? or still rolling on the floor?
fran, would this be the one that still wrestles you, or a tongue of another...er...person
hi harp!
hi harp!
nut, the guy who injured my frenum is long gone from my life.
up and moving, fully recovered from my laughing fit, thank you fran
hi harp
nut - 'prices for Americans' means that the place, in high season' is full of visitors from the US who have, or seem to have, for more 'disposable income' than many here in UK have. In other words, sky high prices to fleece the visitors.
Hi, all - I finished earlier but thought I'd come hang out for a few.
hi tea
I need clues Harpjane! Like I just said still have a lot of words left. Can I start with the te 7/36 clue please
yep. they do the same thing in the US Jacula -- "tourist traps" are notorious for extra-high prices on everything. (which is why we don't go to a lot of the "must see" attractions)
hi TEa!
hi TnC!
hi tea
thanks jac, like the prices i paid in niagara falls.
Hello TeaNCrackers! Congratulations on early finish!
hi all! I have a sick little girl today and she took a late nap, so we are all up a little late tonight.
Which reminds me... I want to take the kids to the Tacoma Art Museum again (we're members) -- there is an Eric Carle exhibit I want them to see.
oh, tea.... {{{hugging little girl}}} *offers Tea and cookies to the mama-type*
stiddy - I did not know you were in Washington - I was born in Seattle and have lots of family all over up there.
min, te7 is a compound word, years between 12 and 20.
southern end of the sound, Tea -- just outside Olympia
Thank you FranMag for the te clue.Finished te words
I have cousins in Olympia, an aunt in Tenino, uncle and cousins in Washtucna (out east)
ooh, TnC, just enlarged your icon! chocolate chip cookies are my favorite!
yw min!
Minver te 8/55 is the past tense of those years
\Nut - I've heard it's expensive to visit there.
Does anyone have a clue for the ha 6/27 word please
um yeah, they are an endangered species in this house - if they are here, I eat them!
Actually, I need the first ha 6/27 word if you have it.
My mother (stidgmere) teaches in Tenino... not familiar with Washtucna (though I know the name)
Minver - ha6/27is a Scottish word for having.
min, take the last letter off the ha4/6, then add an "action" verb ending.
ha 6/27, first three letters of previous word + "gerund" end***
Washtucna is tiny - we were there in July - had to stay in Ritzville as there are no hotels in Washtucna. We drove up in a day, stayed a day and drive back in a day - what a drive!
thanks jac, wasn't sure what it meant.
wow Tea -- hope it was worth the drive with two little ones! LOL I don't mind driving now the kids are older, but back then...
Does anybody have a clue for the ha 4/5 word please
good night to all you lovely babblers!!!!
my aunt passed away, my mom had to get back to work, I had surgery scheduled for the day after we got back it was a cluster. We drove up on Cracker's first birthday. I am so happy that we got the DVD player in the car, it sure helped!
good night, Annie, sweet dreams!
Fran - just clicked on your icon. That show (fronted by Cilla Black) ended here in UK some years ago. It was just awful in the end! The only fun to be had was when they did the 'oldies' shows; the honesty, but politeness, of the older folks. The young daters' shows just got rude and embarrassing.
Actually, I need the first ha 4/5 word if you have it.
night, annie
Goodbye Anniebrook! I'll see you tomorrow in the log!
ha 4/5 (there are two next to each other... like the first ha 4/6 but with different end letters
thank you stid
Minver - another Scottish word for 'to have'.
just keep changing final consonants, Minver
jac, most of the dates are pretty raunchy here too, but the comments they make about the couple are fun to watch.
oh Tea, I am so sorry -- what a trial that must have been! {{{tea}}}
okay, gotta go help make dinner, see you all in a bit!
later Fran!
that's my hubby's guilty pleasure, too - I love the cartoon bubbles - it cracks me up.
Goodbye FranMag! Enjoy your dinner. See you later!
'Bye Fran.
Does anyone have a clue for the he 7/52 word please
Thanks, stid. The kids were actually pretty good. My Dad is by far the baby and this aunt took over as grandma to my sister and me when my Grandma died years ago. Her two sons are the same age as my dad, so she was really a second mother to him. I really wanted to be there for my dad more than anything and it was good to see the extended family.
Thank you for the ha clues.Finished my ha words now
add the gerund ending to the he 4/8 before it, minver
he 7/ is the gerund end*** on the he 4/8
good for you, Tea. family can be so very important (said as one who knows many of her cousins but wouldn't recognize them on the street)
Thank you stidmama for the clue.I finished he words!
he7 - heaving a heavy weight upwards.
go Min go!
It's hard with both of my parents being the youngest in their family. Most of our cousins are years older than us. I have two cousins on dad's side that are older than my dad, their kids are older than me, etc.
Does anybody have a clue for the ti 6/27 word please
past tense of the ti 5/14 prior, Minver
I have known other people in similar situations. A friend of mine had a niece who was 6 mos older in our high school!
Minver - ti6/27 is an extension of the ti5/14 (slight colour hue) before it.
Thank Jacula for the ti clue. I finished ti words now!
My dad's oldest sister celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary the year my dad turned 45 and I turned 21 - it was interesting to say the least.
go, Minver, go!
LOL! wow... I can't even imagine a family that stretched out!
y/w. Minver.
Are the re words real words. If so, I'll try them w/out clues. I do not want to keep interrupting your chats.
Min -- I at least am chatting to fill time waiting to give clues. A lot of the RE words are regular babblets.
Minver - please ask for clues as and when you need them! Don't worry about 'interrupting'!
the first RE 6/24 is an anagram of the second... which is latin for "queen"
There all over the place Min, I don't mind clueing!
*They're
I have been monkeying them for awhile now. Monkey is tired tonite I guess. I'll still try to get them though
grammar is the first thing to go, Tea!
especially typing one handed
re6/27 - what you do when you put a picture up on the wall again.
the second RE 6/24 is also a place in Saskatchewan...
and the re 8 is the past tense of Jac's clue
re8/60 - you can think the picture being hung up again (in transitive verb sense) or think of a noose around the neck and stool kicked away again.
we are going to attempt bedtime - bbl
good night Tea -- I'll probbably be gone when you return
Goodbye TeaNCrackers!I will maybe see you later on!
I just got knocked off site. :(
there there, Jacula -- I was heading out anyway, you can have my seat!
see you-all tomorrow!
stid - I was just going to ask how your head is...
Goodbye stidmama!I will see you tomorrow in the log!
See you next grid, Stid.
Okay,I have most of the re words now. Need 3 more.
Does anyone have a clue for the re 6/24 word please
I'll go to bed soon... when te8/55 in house stop crashing around. Mind you, Other Half is due up for work in 15 mins... will go after that, I guess.
Actually, I need the first re 6/24 word if you have it.
re6/24 (1st) re + a4/6 word meaning 'again'.
Does anyone have a clue for the re 5/14 word please
Actually, I need the second re 5/14 word if you have.
Tonight, I watched what I would guess is probably the last episode ever of the 'Royale Family'. It was the best ever, except for the Mambo No. 5 decorating episode.
Minver - 2nd re5/14 = re + 1st 3 letters of the time after the sun goes down.
*Royle Family!
Thank you Jacula for the re clues. Finished re words.
y/w, Minver.
hello there. anyone care to answer a really stupid question from a newbie (that'd be me)?
i just signed up this week for the babble pro and have been happily playing. But I notice in chat, people come in with "I need to know he 3/27 and fr 4/32" etc etc. How do they know what they need? All I see are my tile stats, which say there are for ex: four possible words beginning with F. Please help!
aww man, did I miss everyone? :(
heelo Karmin, welcome to Babble
karmin, click on the link below your stats for Lickety's clues
HI I DONT KNOW TO MUCH ABOUT IT MYSELF,but i go to lickitys and print the starting letters
the flip is an hour late today??
okeydokey, lemme try that...thanks
and then mark them off as i find them
omg! you guys are GREAT! I had NO idea....I've been playing with a handicap! LOL
Hi folks, I need the last fr 4/7 and the last he 4/5 please...
fr4/7, don't panic
our chatters are quite good without a list ,but someday ill try it too
ah, thanks Colhad
well thank you so much. I got a lot done w/out the list...but when you get stumped, it would sure help. I've gotta go now. But thank you soooooo much chatters! goodnight! :)
np angel
good night and have a good day
I need "i" help -- I have first in5 10 but not second...?
Hello, Mistress of the Dark! A lot of the people on tonight are new to me. Hello to y'all, also.
Hi Ankh, in 5/10 is what is usually done with a dead body.
Oh, Angel, thanks! Or is it Angela, not Angel?
Angela, technically, but I get called Angel a lot :)
I'm back.Took a short break.Jacula are you still here?
Which do you --prefer-- here?
Sorry to all newcomers. I was away getting my partner up for work and then was listening to Lou Bega's 'Mambo No.5' through my headphones.
I have one left... the second he 4/5. Just that one and I'll get fireworks for the second time in my brief Babble career.
Does anyone have a clue for the an 5/14 word please
And here, either is fine. Angela's good.
he 4/5 is he plus single hump letter plus cross letter.
Another he4/5 is he plus hook letter plus cross letter
2nd he4/5 - she + cosonant.
*consonant
an5/14 = ire.
Thank you guys!
*dancing the mambo with Minver*
I'm sorry my mistake.I need the ag 5/14 not an 5/14.
Great tune/dance, isn't it, Ankh?!
Congratulations Ankhorite on your fireworks!Hooray
ag5/14 - James Bond was a secret one.
I'm dancing right along w/you sharing your happiness
Does anyone have a clue for the ea 5/14 word please
hey everyone !
Hi Hell!
My favorite dancer: Snoopy in any of the Charlie Brown specials. No mambo, though. Oh, no, Minver, I didn't get fireworks yet, sorry to mislead you. 13 to go.
Thank you Jacula for ag clue. I finished the ag words!
whew - finally made it back here, tried to start earlier & electrician promptly shut off this circuit - thanks alot!
is the grid tough, think i can finish before the flip?
Minver - you seem very ea5/14 (keen) to find that word.
Hello helenkeller! How are you doing?Did you finish yet
hi jac! lol, i love your little pet name for me :)
Thank you Jacula! And you are very ea*** to help me!
hiya min - haven't even started, so don't mind me if the only chat i do has question marks at the end, lol
Hell - I knew you would.:)xx
:)
Good evening, all.
okay grid - here we go!
Does anyone have a clue for the fe 5/16 word please?
Helen, you're good enough, I bet you'll finish.
Hello pdb! How are you doing? Did you finish this grid?
I have a friend, Helen, who's been known as 'Hell' for 25 years in our 'set'. LOL.
Minver, I need that fe 5/16 too.
The fe 5/16 is a boxing move to avoid your opponent's blow.
hiya pdb!
Great icon, Helen. And "hella" in German means "light" -- so it's not a bad nickname.
Good luck helenkeller finishing the grid. It is easy to get half of the words. Then you may need some clues.
jac - that's pretty cool - always so swell to have friends for so long - i, too, have a group of girlfriends all the way since grammar school
Sorry Angelakk, but not getting your boxing clue yet.
tx ankh - lol, but in english it means horrendous torture for eternity - i like your def much better
Min, sounds like passing out.
It's similar to the fe 5/20 if you have that.
Never mind! I just got the fe 5/16 word. Thank you!
Does anyone have a clue for the fe 6/33 word please?
this is bad - seems i'm in a chatty mood here - gonna dive into grid now, am going to start asking for clues as soon as i hit a wall -brb, hahaha
Is the gh5,18 a common word? Don't clue me (yet), just tell me, is this a normal word?
fe6/33 - celebrating.
Ank, I only have two left to find, and that gh is one of them. Sorry to be of no help.
Ankh - no, not a normal word unless you have entered the Ganges via some steps.
Thanks, PDB. Aha! Hmm. Got it, Jac.
(Sounds like a toe complaint caused by too much build up of uric acid crystals... usually found in old men with a habit of drinking too much port)
Okay, PDB, you know that q-drug qh__ ? It's like that.
Anhhorite, can I have a clue for the gh word. Monkey is not working right now. I tried all different combos.
Nope, PDB, hang on, I'm not getting it right.
But, Hell - you understand the British sense of humour and know the nickname is meant in love and fun?
Got it - my internet connection is acting hinky tonigt. Big delays.
Does anyone have a clue for the de 7/44 word please
okay - i've made it exactly 1/2 way - am going to call up lickety now & run through that & then start asking
Sheesh, finally... Jacula's clue is good, but let me try again. What if a GHost wore h***e coture?
Hell - I have old grammar school friends, too. We met up about a month ago.. again. It was for a play one of us was soloing in. Great fun!
Ankhor - great clue.
jacula - hell no! i never get the british sense of humor, lol, like fawlty towers, didn't like it, monty python, not so much either - but on the bright side, i totally love alan rickman, he's a brit, but not so funny, actually not funny at all
Min - boldly resistant de 7/44
Oh dear, Hell! Sorry!
I need the re5,10... agh. YW, PDB.
Yawning, yawning here. Ha 6/27?
*never liked Monty Python, could not BEAR Benny Hill*
That gh word is my last word. I'm still monkey-typing.
re5/10 - payment for an apartment with an extra vowel at the end.
Love Monty Python, as does my 13 year old son.
jac - no, i get that you mean it in a sweet, not mean, way - it's just the overall brit sense of humor, kinda beyond me
ankh - same here
And I'm mad at the brits for the reality show "Lad to Lady" or whatever it was. Ladette. They picked the WRONG woman, very very cruel! Picked Titsy McGiggles over the REAL lady, just because the RL was tall!
gh word - g + h4/6 cuisine.
*hk stops with the chatting NOW, starts concentrating on grid again NOW*
Thank you, Jac! Weird word.
Ankh - Ladette to Lady.
OK, Ankhorite, no clue what Lad to Lady is, but laughing at Titsy McGiggles.
I would like help with fe7,48 please?
I did best thing you can do with crap reality TV shows like that; watched first one and last one.
Ha 6/27?
de 4/8?
I am finished! Thank you everybody for all your clues!
Duval - fe7/48 - one whgofe5/20s
Duval, one who fe 5/20.
Well done, Minver
A special thanks to Jacula who gave most of the clues
Nice job, Minver!
wtg minver !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
de4/8 - sounds like to ignore the voice of authority.
PDB, glad you liked description. "Ladette" is what the Brits (apparently) call a severe adult tomboy. The "ladettes" of the show were among the crudest women I have ever seen in my life; but some, like the one who should have one, merely had "mannish" jobs, like truck driver.
thnx pdb!
YAY Minver!
tx jac!
(Or, if Fiona was wrapped all around you, and someone got rid of her... you would be de**ed! LOL.)
Ankhor, perhaps I'm not sorry to have missed it.
*still seething at injustice to tall truckdriver who really did become a "lady" by their definition, but lost to short squirrel giddybosom.
I was going to stay & clue for awhile, but you're all in good hands with Jacula! So goodnight to everybody!!
Laughing again ankhor
Good night, min.
Gosh, I got SO peeved about it! It was SO nasty and unfair! I'm annoyed that Jeffrey the Slug won Project Runway, but I am *incensed* that the real lady lost out to the bubbly ditz! There was MONEY involved! And... and... oh, well. :(
Ankh - I wanted Kate to win, too, but, have to admit that Victoria did overcome more obstacles to win. The principal of the finishing school bore an uncanny resemblance to my deputy head from grammar school (even down to the too-bright lipstick and the sulky mouth - not Elvis style sulky!).
ha6,27 help pls!
Oh, Jac, you remember their names! Thank you!
I second that, Duval.
fe 5/16?
30 to go
However, I was taught to be 'a lady' at school and by my family, as were many females up to about the 1990's in UK. A lady is not a man in drag. If you meet a lady, you'll just know.
Ladettes are the result of girls not being taught how to be girls.
Some of those women -- and I've worked in prisons -- just appalled me. I felt they HAD to be faking it, but then, no, it seemed real... right down to the alcohol.
Whoa, I need some clues here *tries to calm down at injustice done poor Kate*
fe 5/16?
clue for RE 7/36 please?
Ankh - far too many loud ladettes 'getting theit tits out for the boys' and falling over drunk in gutters here in UK now. Sad to say.
Clues now... fe 5/16 = ruled paper with blue lines?
(Sounds like a swoon.)
jac - seriously? what is it mardi gras every day over there? methinks you're kinda exaggerating
Tch! Here, all our female halloween costumes now, even for pre-teens, seem to focus on being as slutty and whore-like as possible. And I mean that literally: they offer matching pimp & ho costumes.
Fe 5/16 sounds like to swoon or pass out.
fe 5/16 a homophone of what one would do when light headed
tx jac!
Re 7/36 Latin plural of 6/24
ha6/27 - Scottish word for 'having'.
would anyone mind brea
nvm that
he7, 52?? what IS that?
Thanks, jac, that was fireworks.
19 to go
thanx pbd
Thanks!
re7/36 - Latin plural of the re6/24 queen word that rhymes with female sexual organ.

Well done, ANKH!
Congrats Ankh
*switches to the chacha*
I wish I could play Mambo No. 5 on here!
i don't have any re 6/24's
I haven't finished a grid in at least two weeks, maybe more. Certainly at least that, because we had a foster dog for those two weeks. She got adopted yesterday by rich people, so as long as she doesn't escape and kill any more cats... she should have a great life.
6 to go
Queen Victoria sometimes signed documents as Victoria re6/24
Oh, I can play it - not in it's original form... but, try this... http://users.cis.net/sammy/mambo5.htm

the other 6/24 is an anagram of that one, rhyming with former pres. Ronald R.s name,
ty meta ! great clue

ti6.27 means tinted
LOL, Jac, back to the mambo for me! It works!
