it's a compund word
i have 23 to go, but no nines, one 8
didn't see lIckety arrive!
trying to watch abc here and the damn tv is playing up
go hurshy go
ooh got a nine
of cours, tea -- how did I miss that when I found the other?!!
hi hurshy
what other? you mean the 6 and 7?
which one hurshy? -- the an?
which one hurshy? -- the an?
yeah i have the an
ha ha hursh, I have 23
yes, hursh -- found them at the start
compound word, she asked remedially...
then we have "crossed", as bex and i would say, for now i have 22 to go.
*hurshy
kier - two words stuck together to make one
ohh. duh. <blush> <eyeroll> <forehead slap>
is the an9 related to the an6 and 7?
I am hitting the sack- have 22 left and am too tired to finish...have a good rest of the day/nite! Blessings! @}}>>~~~~~
yes'm
gnite summer!
is nobody going to let on what the 9s start with?

Jilli. An9 Weigh down a ship, and extend it
thanks, melon -- not that i"ll find them!
got the an 9 - details at 11 ;)
hee hee
does the eu build off shorter words, i don't have anything from that E
I have the an6 & 7 -- must search for more...
I had to look up the words in more words - it is a plural, both of the eu words are eu 8/55
i just gave a big fatuous clue, jilli
and they're fish - literally
ahhh. cleaver. thanks melon
i meant clever, not cleaver....
don't have the eu -- but looking......
cleaver - as in the Mrs who always bakes cookies????
that eu is an odd one for sure
hmm, perhaps a little help then, tea?

I cheated :)
Never heard of either one of those words, but found em. ty
why is chones not a word =(
ty googled candlefish and there it is
thanks, TnC -- gottem
well, only a few among us would have got them on our own, so someone would have had to cheat sooner or later - you just saved time.
thanks for the eu's-would've never found them!
amen, hurshy
TnC could not have done it without you XXXOOO ;)
atalante prob would get them, with her marine biology background...
I;'m blushing
*curses her decision not to study marine biology*
Why do people call it cheating to look things up? Such words are not monkeyable.
hitting the dictionary is NOT cheating
i don't call it cheating - especially since one always learns something.
the quote I like best was given to me by a fellow babbler a long time ago: using a solver is cheating. everything else is research
I was being facetious about calling it cheating
thus the winky after it
did all you ladies get the HO 7 & 8?
ok, does anyone have all 3 s's? i got loud sleep noise and spanish one
tired - very tired - only up bc the offspring sprung his homework on me tres tres late.
i did autumn
i think it was freud who said 'if we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be research' (or somesuch)
Um is this the hard grid?

they're all freakin' hard for MOI
yes autumn
the other s is an sy

yup (and an N and A above that)
a 4, 5, 6... they would have to be different, sigh.
a - do you have blemish
yup
found the h, that was the 4
how about the point total, that could help narrow it down
1773
33 more... so the 6 must be 21 and then 5/12
of which i have neither in the A's
and you are missing an n and an a
yup
a 6/21 - it relates to equine
yay, thanks
n 5/12 - there are two

i totally have that fruit of the loom song stuck in my head. "yoooooouuuuuuuu can't overlook your underwear..."
oh dear
morning dear gang
well it's their fault for making such a good song on a commercial. commericals aren't supposed to have good songs.
that cracks me up - I was just checking e-mail and some lady is offering her underwear on freecycle - yuck

if that sells, why am I not rich?
wish i had known about this a long time ago
spritey dear, it's FREEcycle
ah - not known here, but I get the drift now
although, sprite, I'm sure there's a market for undies somewhere
yes, a market of pervs, no doubt

someone who is not that valiant guy, the knight in shining armour, kind of a.... coward!
you are the wind brneath my wings
thx chj and sprite
Reminds me of the series Moonlighting. When he says that if he had lived in the middle ages, he would have been a knigt in shining armor. And she says: "You would have been up all knight shining armors."
okay...you know what...i have been monkeying around this word for a long time...and knew the ending...but didn't type in the second hump letter!
silly silly me
*up all night
It happens, Dispatch. It is called babblism.
lol sprite
the oh4/6 has me stumped
One of those things that just cannot be translated :) I never forgot, though.
units of resistance
or tiredism...getting up in 4 hours...need to get to sleep. andree...it's an electrical work...or maybe what a yogaist wouls say plural
think electricity, Andree
the yoga reference did it, thx
yw
andree..that o actually came from the top...i still need the last o from the middle
babblism: a condition that may become chronic without rest that affects perception characterized by looking without seeing.
"they" say its an on...but other than that i'm clueless...any help?

thx sprite
There is really really no hurry, Ata. We will let it grow organically, as it should look as well ;) And since I know it is going to work out perfectly, I can really relax about the whole thing. It will be done when it will be done :D
yes, it will. and it'll look fab. well, it already does, it can only get better!
Exactly!
hello everyone. this isn't a nice one - is it?

from PhotoAlto, Roads and Bridges CD
more roads than bridges, actually, but I could send you the bridges separately.
May I please have a clue for the other 9 before I go. I have the an9
my email is in the profile, just leave out the spaces
neat! i'll drop you a note so we can talk about 'em!
Great!
Eu8/55: small, edible, smeltlike fish, Thaleichthys pacificus, of northwestern coastal waters of North America, being so oily that when dried it can be used as a candle. The 9 is the plural.
Thank you sprite - hunting now
Got it (thanks to Google) - what's the clue for the AN9 if you'd be so kind...
Them telling the news, matty.
Merci buckets, Sprite!
yw ;)
ooh, i just realized, this is the perfect place to ask:
for UK travel advice
my husband and i are flying into Heathrow on 12/25. We were hoping to get to Brussels that same day, but there are no flights. Best to stay in a hotel close to Heathrow and fly out the next day, or other ideas?
Fly to Schiphol airport, have dinner with us and then go to Brussels would be my idea, but that is definitely not what you are looking for ;)
You could try Eurostar to Brussels, Krys?
that would be fun! the heathrow tickets are set, but we didn't expect to have so much trouble finding transport around europe once we got there.
train?
Yes!
I will look into it. I think J looked and found that there were few trains running because of the holiday.
Fireworks. I bid you goodday or night or whatever, and thanks for the help and the fun :)
hi all - 128 words this shouldn't be too bad
http://www.eurostar.com/dynamic/_SvBoE xpressBookingTerm?_TMS=1164013744632&_ DLG=SvBoExpressBookingTerm&_LANG=UK&_A GENCY=ESTAR&com.estar.navigation.BackA ttribute=SvBoTravelFaresSelectTerm&web logic.servlet.network_channel.port=735 1&GO=1&_TMS=1164013744557
sold out - just tried it
it is a bit tricky, Ric, but otherwise ok!
Bye sprite. Thanks for the eu9 - got it
Bye Sprite ! and Congrats !
'night sprite! ((hugs)) and congrats on your fireworks
Congratulations, Sprite!!
Well doneSprite!
having the stats on all the biggies really helped!
sue, I think we waited too long - afternoon and evening trains all sold out.
thank you for the idea
can you get out to Brussels from one of the other London airports? Gatwick? or City>
?
dunno if J has looked into that - I think he was focusing on Heathrow
or rent a car and drive through the tunnel??
Or Stansted
Thought you had to put the car on a train
how hard is it to get from heathrow to gatwick?
you do, but you drive at each end :P
That might be true. Not sure you can drive yourself through it indeed.
is the train through the chunnel the same eurostar that has no tickets available for passengers?
Different train but prob same situation
there;s a coach shuttle that goes between the two airports, takes about 45 minutes I think
boat is taking ages, you'd better wait it out then until the next day...
oh, i see the problem - we get into heathrow aroudn 10 AM and the cheap flight out of heathrow leaves at 9 AM. Then the price goes up dramatically (three times the cost of a hotel room overnight)
oh urf
so maybe the overnight near heathrow is better. is there anything fun to do around heathrow (although we'll probably want to mostly sleep, I'd imagine, after flying out from California!)
it's about 90 minutes away from london proper, yes?
krys i thought that they would have airport to airport shuffle like they do here. HI all dorry to but in
Don't sleep during the day, otherwise you'll prolong your jet lag! (Good morning, by the way)
heathrow isn't exactly the *most* interesting place to be, but I think you should be able to get to Windsor Castle pretty quickly from there
hiya! yeah, i know it'd be better to have lots of coffee and stay up - that's why i'm looking for stuff to do besides hang out in a hotel room
can get train from heathrow to london
Transport-wise over the Christmas holiday is not the best time for public transport
well, I could fly out of gatwick if i wanted to change planes in latvia!
we'd arrive on 12/26 regardless
maybe i'll look into renting a car so we can get around, and find some stuff to do near heathrow for a day trip
good morning all
honer
krys-have you ever drive in England?
Good morning Eva.
opps sorry bout that
eva - i have driven in england, ten years ago. a lorry, actually.
but i'd make my husband drive, anyway
Morning Krys. I live 3 miles from Heathrow, so if there's anything I can do to help.... Yes, Windsor is very close and that would be a super trip. You can also take the A10 bus from the airport into Uxbridge where there are two big shopping malls, cafes, etc.
fast lanes on the wrong side, roundabouts confusing
wow! That's impresive. I found it hard even to be a pedestrian in England let alone drive, let alone drive around the Heathrow area.
hi hydra! a bus would be nice and low key and a shopping trip would also do well to keep us awake but not overstimulated :) that might be perfect.
british driving licenses are said to be the highest rank - you can drive anywhere with them :).
There's a cinema there to, currently showing Borat. You can sneak in and go to sleep!
:)
That is a good call hydra
The Chimes mall has Debenhams, Gap, Monsoon, BHS, and the Pavilions has Marks & Spencer, TKMaxx and lots more. I'm heading there in half an hour to change my library book and by some M&S salad!
sounds like you've got a plan, krys! Isn't it wonderful to have this international web of word addicts?
If you need any specific info, Krys, email me at hydrababble@yahoo.co.uk
When are you coming? We could meet for coffee, maybe!
Hydra and everyone, thanks so much! I will run this plan by J and see if I get his approval :) We're flying in on 12/25, trying to get to Brussels as quickly as possible, then Germany for a few days, and then we're back in Epping 12/30-1/4
.....and I'm just up the road from Epping
are the malls, etc, open on Christmas?
yeah, good point - will places even be open?
I missed the start of the conversation but with you a very good trip. Don't think they're open Xmas day and Boxing Day but they are the rest of the time.
can i ack can you get nthe other word for cash in this clue
the m money slang wont work for me herin
phooey, well, if we can find a hotel that's open, we'll stay in and watch DVDs...
I did want to see a few bridges in London, maybe that's the day to do it
but i could be spelling it wrong i guess
since the bridges will be open :) I can't wait to photo the curling bridge
no the other one for cash
Oh, is it Xmas Day you're going to be in London then, Krys?
yes, we leave California 12/24 and arrive in London 12/25, and were hoping to grab a puddle-jumper to Brussels that same day
and then we'll be back in the UK again for New Years
You know, I'm so used to reading dates the other way round that I thought you were coming 12th Dec! You should call in here for mince pies!!!
You should try the Bull at Thedon Bois for a very good pub meal
That should read Theydon Bois
whoops, forgot about the dates etc. Frances, is that near Epping?
mince pies, mmm :)
Are there restaurants that would be serving a nice Christmas dinner?
Just up the road from Epping Krys. You can hop on the central line train one stop and the pub is walking distance from the station
frances - theydon bois looks cool!
Where? Eping or Heathrow? If it's Heathrow, I can find out so you can book.
since everyone else is at home, Christmas can be a wonderful day to walk around places -if its not too cold
You're right, Eva.
Well dogs need to be walked every day
hydra - J and I will take a crack at it, though if we need an insider's advantage or restaurant recommendations, I will surely get in touch to ask you.
:)
bridges in london would be great when no-one else is around!
Atalante, that's what I thought too - could get a photo of the pedestrian bridge wtih no one on it, maybe
Also, I don't know if it's the same there as here, but Indian and Chinese restaurants here are open on Christmas...being Jewish in predominantly Christian country, one knows these things.
and let me know too Krys and I can keep you upto date on the Epping area.
Hey everyone.
there will be people around, I'm sure, but nothing like the normal crowds
yeah, I grew up in a US city with a large Jewish population, so I forget that lots of places are closed in other parts of the world
hi ihsult
i will keep you all posted about what we figure out.
screencaps from 28 days later would have empty pedestrian bridges in London
I know where Theydon Bois is. When I was a kid, used to pley Ggolf in Abridge up the road toTheydon Bois. My mum still plays there!!
krys i think they filmed 28days later in London at about 4am (or when dawn was) in the morning so there was noone around,
28 days later is from 2002? i thought the bridge was newer than that
maybe i'm getting it mixed up with the curling bridge
Nice course lshult
it's a fantastic film too - icky and scary
but ganja, part of the fun is the photographing for me :)
i can relate to that krys, tho photoshop does help to make it look like i have SOME talent
ah yes, the curling bridge was built in 2004: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The _Rolling_Bridge
Um im not familar with location details but maybe you could google it Krys
OK I'm off to the shopping mall with daughter in law and granddaughter for the day. Wish me luck. See you tonight.
g'luck fran
Goodluck France
}}}}}}>>>>>>>>>gone
millenium bridge was finished in 2000: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mil lennium_Bridge_%28London%29
we're still waiting for the millenium park out here, lol
they only started digging it out this year
the curly bridge is very near the train station where trains come into LOndon from Heathrow
s'a little late, then, huh Ric?
heh
ooh! then maybe I'll see if J will indulge me in a bridge tour on Christmas Day and a fine dinner somewhere between London and the hotel near Heathrow. This is getting better
thats british management for you i guess
bridge would surely be empty on Xmas day
sounds like a good Christmas to me.
at least at meal times
happy early morning, USians, and afternoon/evening elsewhereses . . . (!)
back at ya gwen
morning gwen
hey gwen-you're up even earlier than I am!
woteva do the 9s start with??
nice to see I'm not the only insomniac
that east-coast time zone will get ya . . .
Hi Gwen. Having a break - bye for now
an9 &eu9
eu9 & an9. There were clues not too long ago
thanks ishult
'kay, iI really gotta go to sleep - kitty is now batting at the laptop screen, and she's got a point - it's almost 2 AM here. Thanks to everyone, UK and otherwise, for the travel advice, and I will keep you posted about how it turns out! *poof*
hiye Tricky -- what is your logo? Rotary kind of thing?
are they real (regular) words ishult?
its the kde icon - www.kde.org
the an word is-think of the people who give you the news
i'm not a kde developer though - just a user
oh thanks eva - should have gotten that compound
the eu word is a total babblet-if you go back in the log you'll find the google definition to look up. It's a fish, believe it or not
x-cellent eva, many thanks
yw
maybe if I stop babbling I'll be able to fall back to sleep? And maybe the Easter Bunny brings easter eggs.
neat-o, tricky! I look forward to the time when there is an OS that will *kill* windows
ganja-what's with the nickname?
i havn't used windows in over 2 years, and there's 3 desktops, a server, and a laptop in this house hehe
i run a business (www.qweb-design.co.uk) using gnu softwares alone :-) plenty of competing software out there
just liked the sound of it eva
sure thing ganja(-:
ound the eu9 too, thanks, fancy being able to use it as a candle - that's kinda eerie not to mention probably smelly
tricky, i know there are other OSes, but i mean one that will run windows off the market -- one that is easy enough to use for the ordinary non-geek
yes-just what I want for house decora-fish oil candles!
ick lol
thanks all for the fish candle clue -- just got it
but to have the wick coming out of their little mouths would make for some cool halloween decorations
try fedora core - its a distribution of the gnu operating system with a linux kernel but very easy to use and maintain, and its rpm based so no compiling etc. to get used to
mmmmm smoked salmon incense
very hard to type with a 15 pound cat sitting on ones chest
there's also live cd distributions if you want to get a feel for gnu/linux before actually installing anything. ubuntu is a good choice there
tricky, i hesitate since i need to trade files a lot and they must all be compatible with others who are using MS stuff
i imagine its hard to do much of anything with a 15 pound cat on ones chest
the aliens are having a conversation
these days many proprietary file types are supported too, especially since xml formatting took off
Eva - we must hu5/16 them!
yes, sometimes I wake up thinking that I'm having some terrible breathing problem et voila-just catitits
openoffice runs on windows too, though it supports and can convert between all microsoft office file types anyway
no problem with the aliens-always amazes me that there are people who understand all of this
though shockwave flash (not flash flash) still isn't available as it uses directx handles, not opengl
I basically know how to turn my Mac on, get email and search the web
I know.
tricky, my business depends (largely) on a software package that wont' even run on the UK version of windows, so I hesitate to fiddle with a new OS
my mum doesn't know how to cut and paste which i find funny
lol haz i'm trying to find your hu5 now...
It's an American spelling (it will make you laugh if it's good)
well i can't help there, lol. what software is this? or is it in-house?
i think i have more phantoms than real words at this point
but I'm really lucky to have alien friends and neighbors who help me out with computer stuff. The cutting and pasting is funny....as I have a Mac, and not one of the brand new ones, I can't always read PC attachments, so often ask people to send stuff instead just by cutting and pasting and often they don't know how to do that
oh i got that already lol, was thinking along the lines of hunting..
Booktrakker, www.booktrakker.com
oh no tricky, we'd never want to hunt you
not without seeing a pic first tricky haha
eva, there are millions of people with computers who can ust barely send email and play solitaire. met one yesterday
No - we're reasonably tolerant - sometimes pushed over the edge!
hmm inventory management... i'll have a think for you
lolganja
puters are still not 'intuitive' enough for the average person to use easily
open office has something that is very similar to ms access or so i hear, havent played with it yet
I love my Mac. Have tried PC's a few times over the years and felt like taking an ax to them....the Mac is so, so much more user friendly-unless you want to do complex stock trading
openoffice is a full productivity suite much like ms office but superior in many ways - such as native pdf export, 3d graphic tools, and a complete set of internationalisation packages.
'I love my Mac' - you'll not hear Heather Mills saying those words any more....
and as of a few weeks ago we have broadband here in the mountains! At least until the spring....not entirely clear what will happen once the trees leaf out, but am hoping for the best
eva, agree completely. i use a pc only because i have to minimize compatibility issues
who is Heath Mills and who is her Mac?
and what did he do to her?
Heather Mills - Paul McCartney's wife - he's divorcing her after 4 years.
ah......
He did all sorts of things according to her!
ono its celebrity divorce talk
(running away with hands over ears, screaming)
No, just a play on words.
celebrities and computers equally alien speak to me.....now food talk, that's something I understand.
lol
i should probably learn food talk too... i really could eat my own words then"!
been stuck at 40 left for a looooong time
okay-think I'll try snoozing again. see you later
bye
Sleep well, Eva
nighty night eva
aww can't believe you can't have re + le5,14 :-(
There's no way to get that word without using the same E twice. Believe it.
He means lu5/14
exactly, lol
oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh, I see
hmm i don't have an lu5,14 yet..
okay, 50% done at last. now i start "cheating"

I've just found one of my favourite words - French for pout. A rodent missing a letter mo4/6.
ty
Harrumph. One of my favorite words is "defenstration" but what are the odds of it ever actually showing up?
its hard enough finding the english words without them throwing french ones in too, lol
lol sam
I shall look out for defenestration! Time for me to go. Have a good day.
Good night
bye
anyone else find it annoying to have tiles that just need one more word to blank out, but that word seems to be hiding a little too well?
Clue for the he 4/6 please

Your keyboard was upside down?

i need the other he 4/6
You have a different method of playing this game that I do
laptop, im eating cheese
The other one starts with a different H. I'm not sure that cheese is related, though.
i need the other he im eating cheese and using a laptop and i put it down and saw it
can get a 5,14 off that one too
clueage still needed
It has three of the same letters as the other he, and it begins with another h on the board. Does that help?
well according to google - He** is the smallest of the Channel Islands that is open to the public. Cars are banned from the small island just like its Channel Island neighbour, Sark. Unlike Sark, bicycles are banned too. However, He** does allow quad bikes and tractors for the locals. The sandy white beaches make He** a walker's paradise
brb hangover making me feel ill suddenly..
why thank you trick
My phantoms include both "Noam" and "Chomsky"

Hi everyone!
Morning, Biltong.

hi biltong
help need the lu 4 6 please
Well, herinfen - If I disappear for a short while, I'll be feeding the cats.
We had very strong winds last night too, Jacula
kitties
lu4/6 (if there is only one) is Scottish word for 'chimneys'.
Biltong - Any damage? I hope not.
Herin, think fruit without first consonant
im so brain dead
'Lang may your l*** reek'
Good clue, sunny.
No not that I can see or have heard of.
Hi Haz.
Hello Jacula - just passing through as usual. I've 39 left and trying to resist the temptation to finish!
phantom word Jacula :)
I love the scottish language
Haz - I have a dilemma; do I tackle the ironing or finish Babble?
Oh, finish Babble.
Biltong - Oh yes! I'm almost in the grid. Fame at last!
definitely babble jac
I'm SUCH a bad influence.
Haz - you said it!;)
Once I find another 8 letter word, I will go and be a housewife.
Haz, everyone, has a neat trick... She mops her floor in such a direction that she is trapped in her study and therefore 'must' stay by the pc until the floor's dry. Whilst there... well, she may as well be productive & Babble. :))))
anyone have mo8/55 or no7/32?
Fiddlesticks, I've found one. I'll have to go...... (mo8/55 sounds like Wooster's eyepiece but is spelt differently)
lol jac
exclnt work Haz!! :)
Snowyown keeps a duster in the study so that she can pretend to be doing something useful.
lol, Jacula
That's a good idea of Snowy's, Haz.:)
only 18 left, chug chug . . .
I thought so, Jacula. Maybe we should compile a list of babble strategies for the housewife.
Good idea, Haz.
clue for the mo 6 please
I, for instance, have the laundry basket by my side so that I can lift it and pretend to be on the way to the utility room.
my strategy is get the husband to do the housework while I babble
Hi, Gwen. Keep going.
opps dumb arse mo 4/6 please
mo4/6 is French for pout. The rodent loses a letter
can someone help me with re6?
LOL, kth.
thaks haz wouldn't have got that
thx jaz - just one to go, no7/32
re6 to light again, I think we had it or a similar word the other day
no7/32 is one who is NOT brave
i'm glad my MOTH likes to cook so I can get him to do that on odd nights so I can babble as soon as imps are sleeping.
ty, kth!
ty haz - you rock! anyone need a clue before i go to bed?
sunny my husband does all the cooking in my house

Where are ya going???
Im going back to my huose and i have no net, at the b/fs house at the mo. I would be back on the weekend but i have a wedding to cater all day sat
The name 'candlefish' comes from the fact that it gets so fat during spawning that it can be dried, strung on a wick and burned as a candle. The 'eu' words we are looking for are its name in Chinook language. It is a 'smelt', often known as a 'hooligan' in English.
That was a clue for eu8/55 (both) & eu9/72, btw.
I've never heard of the chinook language, i thought babble was supposed to be in english
eww fish candle
cool fact Jacula! there are some weird things in this world.
wouldn't want to burn one in the house...
SO sonny this week im making wedding food and catering till 9pm on saturday, hopping weather is not too hot

Hi All
Hi Eva & Merp.
wb jac
Hi, hodag.
still looking for the mo8, rh8 and ho8
hi hodag
hi jac & hoday....where's your beautiful kitty hodag? Merp is asking
Good day Babblers!
mo8-think of kths' clue re a single eyeglass
rh8-weird one re raspy breath sounds I think
ho8 is what men blame women's moods on
Hello Scrabbler.
ho8-what some of us of a certain age are running out of
Sorry Merp butt I put him away for a while. Hi jac.
Thanks, kth. Hadn't got those ho words.
great clue kthdsn
Great icon, Jacula. That's how we feel sometimes.
Ooer, I mean 'ho' words. Don't want to be misunderstood.
I sware these letters jump right out of the keyboard!!
got the rh8, thanks good ness I know medical terms
and got the ho8, toothanks
still need mo8 though
Scrabbler - Thanks. The icon stemmed from ren8 saying, yesterday, that she was going to get her teeth into the grid.:)
mo8 means to do with monks
didn't realize monks were available?
mo8 - Lady with the enigmatic smile + consonant + computer from '2001'.
**returning after giving a rabbit a snack, after having ankles nipped** I am going to work on those eu ones next. TY for clues to ho8, rh8, and mo8.
jac - that's a great clue. Thanks!
thanks so much Jacula and knth, finally found the mo8
the rabbits nip your ankles? Is that how they show affection?
y/w, remluc.
That is how they get my attention.
Pleased that I remembered the name of the computer from "2001"
so am I peri!
The rabbit that I sleep shows affection at 3 Am by putting his whiskers in my face.
very cute. Had a rabbit when I was a kid, and then a big white one named Goliath who terrorized the dogs by thumping. You sleep with a rabbit? Never heard of that before. I'm assuming it is box trained?
I wouldn't sleep with any of my rabbits; they'd chew the bedclothes!
clue on the computer from 2001 pls
mornin babblers!
All of my bunnies are litter-box trained. They learn quite quickly. The one I sleep with is not a chewer.
you have rabbits too Jac?
Morning, evan.
this is a tough grid
nice country, jacula ;)
Eva - Yes. Down to 4 rabbits now (used to be more) + 5 g/pigs.
morning evan
and don't you also have cats?
Eva - Yes. The rabbits and piggies live in a big, heated shed. Not house pets.
scrabbler I'd love an indoor rabbit, do you think they would mix well with young children
Couldn't quite put the guinea pigs and cats together-except as diner and dinee.
any clues for the top o? I only have the resistance one
Kate--it depends on the temperaments of the rabbit and the kids. My Netherland dwarf is quite docile. Some rabbits are bred to be more calm.
good afternoon/morning all back from work have another go still 73 to find
I found 2 eu8's--are there more?
capemaggie - Computer from '2001' - think of *** Miller (jazz musician), or Mr Gore with an extra letter at the front of his first name.
Hi ursh
yews scrabbler-change th last vowel
Scrabbler - No. There's an eu9.
sorry scrabbler-didn't read carefully enough-jac is right
I'm adrift on the eu's. Help please?
All 3 'eu' words are the Chinook name for candlefish/smelt/hooligan.
o?

that would be her
are there any strange Ls, I'm missing 3
although she has to lick my husbands back for 20 minutes before she can go to sleep at bedtime. I find it disgusting, but he loves it
TY Jacula!
At first I thought Mollie was a lop-eared bunny, but on closer inspection she is a dog!

i have a dentist appt tomorrow -- are there any rules about going to the dentist wen youre sick?
Reschedule it--better for you and for the DDS and office staff.
evan - Probably best to cancel. You might not be able to breathe with dental equipment in your mouth.

Hi Mom

Hi Scrabbler and Jacula
Hi Kthdsn

They've taken away my Babble access at work, those cads!
shocking matty , how could they
matty, this calls for a babble strike!!! Arise, babblers!
You tell 'em guys! AS if Babble is a hinderance to productivity!
never!!!
hehe... i don't think that'll happen at my job, it's my own boss who got me hooked on babble .lol
productivity, hmmm, wonder what that could be
I think part of the problem is that whilst I run Babble in the background, it keeps updating, so it looks to the techies as if I'm on it constantly. Sigh
matty, get the techies to play babble and then the problem is solved---everyone will be addicted
Hmmmm...I'd have to teach them some words first :D
LOL

How is everyone this evening?
hi jac!!
hello jacula
hiya jacula!
ok, I vowed yesterday to give up Babble because nothing gets done including homework, housework, school at all. Soooooooooooooo, I today vowed that I would only do smaller puzzles
hi Jacula
jacula - is that your country there? - babbleonia?
We've been hated a lot longer than just the last 6 years." Oops. We need money. Long live the USA"
is that a good compromise?
sounds good april
April - I vow to give up Babble at least twice a week. LOL.
Excellent compromise.
oh man, so I am not alone...
lol mkl
Hell - Yup! That's Babbleonia.
ok so small puzzles, under 150, under 130, under 200? what would you all consider a small puzzle?
Under 200 is a small grid to me.
yesterday was small enough but took a LONG time
april, under 150
Jacula. Are you the Prince Regent of Babbleonia?
jacula - that's very funny! & very clever too, LOL
Mind you, I've got loads of 'proper' work done today, so I'm happy.
under 150 sounds about right Fran
yes april - yesterday's was a killer
Have to agree with Jacula. Anything under 200.
Does anyone need any clues?
I guess I will see what the day looks like. somewhere between 100 and 200..... yah right! I will try I will try!
so thanks cluers and advisors alike. I am now off to do some 'proper' work
Hell - I didn't even know today's theme was countries and I can't really take credit for my icon being a map of Babbleonia. It was your idea... and a very good one, too. I made the icon yesterday after ren8 said she was 'getting her teeth into' the grid. LOL.
bye april!
'Bye April.
Sorry Jacula. I guess you would be the heir apparent. Her royal highness, princess Jacula of Babbleonia. Has a nice ring to it.
seriously jacula? that's practically psychic of you, LOL
mkl - Prince Regent? I'm female! *Looks down top to check.*
bye april
mistress - i thought your icon was kool casuse it had "gto" in it!
kind of like yours helen
hi rennie!!
rennie, did you read my icon?
Hi rennie. 'gto'??
Nice icon renfield. Wouldn't mind being there right now. Looked out the window at all the snow and my thermometer reads 32 below zero.
Oh, I see, rennie. Just noticed your icon.
okay - fran - i'm so glad to be here, what great timing
hiya rennie!
no wonder, didn't realize you were in alaska mkl!
32 BELOW ? ! ? ! ? ! YIKES & i thought i weathered winter well here
Yep. Normally I love it here. Takes about a month for me to get used to winter. Then I'm fine. Haven't been above 10 below in more than two weeks.
yeah, let's see what rennie says helen
sweet helen!
sweet fran!
Helenkeller. The coldest I've ever been was on the pier in Chicago. The wind eats you up during the winter.
yes fran - waiting for rennie's response too
The coldest I've ever been was in April in Scarborough (Yorkshire)! LOL
rh 8,55 pls
yep mkl - our winters can be wicked, although last winter was really, really mild
bubba, wheezing sound from mucusy lungs
fran - hmmmm, no comment on the pirate blood from rennie, maybe she missed that part
think of tubes in the lungs minus the B
Reykjavic (Iceland) in April was positively warm!
i saw the pirate - arrrrggghhhh frannie
lol rennie!
LOL - okay, great, now here we go
rh8 rh + opposite of off + the space shuttle ****lenger

later fran
Fran - I know that feeling! Mine's all done, thank God!
Definition of a babble addict - one who tries to see how many words you can get from Jacula's icon. All the laundry done? Are there pigs circling the blue moon?
Hi Haz. Truly! It IS all done AND ironed and put away.
evening all can someone pls clue the ho 7 pls and ty
Well, give yourself a pat on the back!
Haz - I also got a couple of dozen pots of bulbs done.
Goodness, you have been busy today. And you got babble done in pretty smart time.
Hi Sheryl. ho7 & plural 8 is/are those things women have that men blame our strange moods on.
Haz - I haven't finished Babble... one word to go...
ty jac
y/w, Sheryl.
Ah, then I will be able to give congratulations...
was gonna have a "bad" mood cause I couldn't find them, not I never once thought to blame it on the ho 8, lol
brb
FIREWORKS! But I deserve a fish for my last word found (ro4/5 - Leslie Phillips type man).
LOL, Sheryl.
congrats jac
hint for a sy word
Well done - Peter Stringfellow is another example we had fun with one icon Friday!
can't help you randy don't have it yet
sy5 - variant spelling of a femme fatale
ty haz needed that myself
tyhaz
You're welcome!
one more s please
en 5 please
The other s words are anagrams of each other - think of a sleeping Spanish gentleman
Hi aknitter. en5 - very large (short version).
hi jac, i have missed that before ty
Oh dear! Hunting Cat has brought home a raw chicken breast. I think he's been through someone's window and nicked their defrosting dinner.:(
(Hope it's not poisoned!):(
hahahaha love that cat!
a little take - out for dinner
Do you not feed that poor starving creature?
what is with the eu words!!!!
Haz - We've been giving him extra food but it's made no difference!
aknitter - the eu words all mean the same thing (though the eu9 is a plural). Chinook word for candlefish/smelt/hooligan. Does that help??
He must just love the thrill of the hunt. Though a raw chicken breast can't have given him much of a fight.
a chinook word? Good lord. Not fluent in chinook i must say
Haz - Been meaning to ask you if you (or hubby) has a table of food needed per cat (by cat's weight)? I mean, if you give half a tin at each of the 2 meals, that's 150g. One sachet, however, is only 100g serving per meal.
i found them though thanks to my chinook speaking monkey
aknitter - I knew you would!
jac please don't tell me you speak chinook (feels insignificant and very country bumpkin)
Haz - More of a fight than the 'fat ball' he nicked off someone's bird table last winter!
There are probably tables of recommended amounts but I don't think cats pay much attention.
aknitter - I don't, but my friend Google does.;)
Haz - I think you're right.
lol
A cat of wide-ranging food tastes. What did that do to his digestive system?
Haz - Well, cats love anything fatty (cheese, chicken skin etc.) If it had been Homely Cat that ate it, she would have brought it back over as wide an area in the house as possible. Hunting Cat seems to have a cast-iron stomach.
jac are their names really hunting cat and homely cat?
In the words of Pollyanna, let's be glad Hunting boy got the fat rather than Homely Cat!
Oops! Kind of said a word in my last post.
more
oops
Haz - Homely Cat won't ever get fat 'cos Hunting Cat pinches her food every chance he gets!
aknitter - No! LOL. Homely Cat is Kira and Hunting Cat is Tiggsey.
However, when they weave around my legs when I'm trying to walk about, or shoot out so I trip over them, their names change to 'That Cooking Fat!' (think about it...) and other such names.
i was beginning to wonder what kind of cat mommy you were ! I have a friend with 2 rabbits -- cassie (short for casserole) and stewart AKA stew!!
aknitter - Aw! That's mean! It's like calling your pet lamb Mint Sauce or your little piggy Apple Sauce.
eeewwww

Anyone else needing clues?
Hi, i need no 7/32
Hi, i need no 7/32
Hi Annie. no7/32 is NOT a brave person! (Compound word.)
(The brave part of the word is an h4/5 in the grid.)
Jac, thanks, a babble word....it would have taken me the longest time
hi everyone
hi andree
hi andree
ch4/6 between the 2 5/14's please
Hi, Andree.
heya everyone
ch /not off
ch4/6 between the 2 5's = ch + opposite of 'off'.
Hi emc & veg.

Happens to us all, Andree.
BRB. Son just arriving home.

first 5 letters of previous word
hi all. I just uploaded the new chapter.
off to fix my family's dinner, and back in the hour before flip to get my last few words. I hope.
Hiya, stidmama!
hi stid! I'm afraid I'm way behind in the story, but then I'm way behind in Coronation Street and other previous obsessions!
hi emceleste! did you finish the grid?
(lol)
no... not yet.. just got here a bit ago
that's okay Jill -- some of the chapters are better than others, today's is mediocre, but at least it advances it somewhat.
well, hop to it, emceleste, and I'll be back later... :-) see you all! *poof*
I won't see you at fliptime -- bridge night -- and won't have time to babble tomorrow -- taking a sight-impaired friend to Victoria for shopping
phantom word-anchovy
by stid
nasty things
mo 6/21 please
stid's in and out of here too fast!
I love anchovies
mo6/21 sounds like M****** O'Hara
my friend fed my kitten an anchovie the other day. what an idiot... hellooooo! they were salted! :o(
can't stand them anywhere near me. With their beady little eyes.
thx jilli, think that was in the grid a couple of weeks ago
24 left and totally bogged down. Ho hum
I've never seen eyes on anchovies -- just fillets
yw, andree
It's ok jilli.... I thought I had 28 words left!
But it turns out that I have 100 left. :D So, it could be worse... hehe
okay, so maybe I just think they're staring at me(-: Not many things I could not eat to be polite, but anchovies qualify.
I'm that way with kidneys, eva
Well, at last, I have Fireworks.
yup-kidneys would do it too. Maybe we should do an icon day with food you wouldn't eat on a bet
wtg exwren
YAY ExWren!!!
congrats!
Hi everyone and thanks jill for the mo6!
I feel like a traitor to my heritage, but gefilte fish is up there too
Hi muse, and yw!
kidneys are deliscious
oh... that's totally justified, Eva
and eel
tripe
to each his/her own disgust!!!
fried guinea pig
caviar
I love most food, my size would prove that, but I could not eat curry, ginger, coconut or anything that looks at me: ie fish! Fish is OK if it is battered
snails
hehe... no one can complain about that one. that was one of the few things my ex-fiance's family didn't mind that I didn't enjoy on jewish holidays.
I can't stand peanut butter and jelly
Hi! I'm back for a while.
snails-ew
but I loooove peanut butter and pickleS!!! (might be pregnant tho, hau!)
that's interesting-peanut butter and jelly seems so inocuous
yuuuccch
peanut butter & PICKLES? Bleurgh!
My dad made me try it! it was really good! (depends on the pickle though... has to be Bubbies!)
definitly must be pregnant
chocolate covered maggots, spiders and crickets
Oh yes, cockles and Mussels, eels and tripe, snails - did I say I like most food? It seems like I am more choosey that I thought
kaftba wins...... can't touch those ( and I have tried)
sharks fin soup ugh
I cannot imagine swallowing an oyster/clam, anything of that ilk
Even pregnancy doesn't excuse peanut butter & pickles! LOL. Pregnancy no. 1, I crave fresh orange juice. (Son, child 1, now loves the stuff.) Pregnancy no. 2, I craved Perrier Water. (Daughter, child2, became anorectic at 12/13.) Well, we won't go into that.
Makes you think though, doesn't it?
what is kaftba?
Ka&Ba
Hi ExWren. I smiled when I saw your icon up again much earlier.
ka and ba are egyptian deity sort of life and death
oh yes.
My borther-in-law has a whole notebook page of loathings -- like cream cheese, yogurt, lemon. pumpernickel, rare or medium beef, tofu, zucchini, artichokes, parsnips, any salad, yams, hollandaise sauce, rhubarb, long-grain rice, milk chocolate, etc. etc. etc.
I guess I should have said bother-in-law!
I get many compliments about it Jacula, but I always give you the credit
sorry... my eyes are blending letters
jilli - remind me never to try to cater for your bro-in-law!
glad I am not his wife, what a pain to cook for
Aww, Wren. Thank you!xx
Fireworks...
wtg angelsong
Well done, Angel!
yay angel
My friend was married to a man who would only each processed peas, no other vegetable at all.
Congrats, Angel!!
congrats Angel
Wren, no? AARGH!
sorry I meant eat
bother-in-law won't eat ginger either.
The fresh fruit & veg part of my supermarket trolley far outweighs any other shopping every week.
otherwise he's a great guy and lots of fun!
jilli - If bother-in-law wasn't a spelling mistake, it's a great name for him!
I've just coined that, jac
ooh fun icons today - is maps the theme?
last ? mu4/6 and 5/14 ? combo please
I do HATE catering for fussy eaters!
Countries, Leslie
oh ok. is that babblonia, jac?
LeslieAnn - theme is countries, I think.
mu -- not off; then plural
Andree - mu4 & pl. 5 = mu + not 'off'.
jac, I have a cousin who's a fusser too. I've kept a notebook for such people!
My favourite cake when I was a child was caramel cake... my mom made this finnish cake soooo well! but at my 7th or 8th birthday, one of my friends said "I don't liiiiiiiike coconut! this is coconut!!!".. of course, it wasn
but all the rest of the kids joined in with "eeeeew... coconut...." anddidn't eat another bite. My mom is STILL offended.. lol
LeslieAnn - You're not the first to ask that today! It wasn't, it was an icon I did yesterday when ren8 said she was getting her teeth into the grid and I then asked her not to chew it. LOL.
and I don't talk to any of those so called "friends" anymore... psh... ;o)
jilli - You must be a saint!
thx ka and jac
i'm mean..... If it isn't a food allergy,, i don't cater for fussy.
well it's multi-purpose then. you're a genius!
hey hey hey!
my mother used to tell picky eaters if they wanted it their way to go to Burgher King
my mother is greek and when we came to Aus over 50 years ago I had to recount everyday at school what we had for dinner so everyone could go yuk
LeslieAnn - I wish my teachers had thought that when they wrote my school reports.
Here's a boring food story. When I was about 9 and living in Shanghai, I got dysentery and had to go to hospital where I was fed red jelly and enemas and got to detest both. After I was cured I was invited to a birthday party where the "treat" was red jelly. I was aghast and asked my mother if I had to eat it to be polite because it made me feel sick. She murmured to the hostess, and thank goodness, I was excused and could ust enjoy the cake.
I come from a large, poor family.. you ate what you were given or you went without
now the all beat their way to the resaurants and delis to eat that same yuk
*clears throat and tries to greet everyone again* - - i said HEY!
hi evan
HEY THERE nutty!!!
Andree - Greek food (apart from the olives. Gawd! I hate olives) is lovely. I made myself try olives again when in Crete this summer. Nope! Still don't like 'em.
hi evan
HEy evan!! (I did see your greeting!)
phew!!! thought i might be invisible!
okay, and I say STRAW
I got to like olives in Spain where they were stuffed with....wait for it....anchovies!
on the odd food stories, everyone is repelled by my families christmas eve tradition.
jilli.... eeeuw
which is evan?
hello nutsy, and what was that tradition?
mmmm.. hum!
yum*
my mother had to travel by train to the city to buy olives etc, now you had get anything you want at any corner store
jilli - anchovies are my other pet hate. Oh dear!
which, arlene? The red jelly or the olives with anchovies?
Hi nut.
noodles, sauerkraut(sans juice), mushrooms (not moist), dry-ish bred, limas, bland dry potatoes....and nothing to drink.
olives and anchovies
Hi ya nut~
Anchovies... how can I put this politely? Erm... taste like smelly knickers probably taste.
nut...why no liquid?
what national dish was taht, nuttky?
last mo4/6 please
hiya museypoo
good heavens, nut, why on earth???
not sure of the nationality or they why...but i've met others with the same tradition
sorry to break in, but can someone please give me clues for the an9, eu8 and eu9
oh...but we do pass around a bottle of whiskey
an9 newscasters are also called this
better than kalakukko!.... Nothing like breaded fish shaped like a rooster!
an9, people like the Dan Rahter
an 9: /walter cronkite was an an*******
sorry about the typos
holy oddity emceleste
thanks for that one
the last mo4/6 I have is add 2 more vowels; rhymes with the licentious man
I only nipped away for a moment and there's been a burst of food-related nd clue activity on here. I'm a bit lost at present...
eu8 -- eu + a ** mode + charlie **** with diff vowel -- pl for the 9
thx mymuse
en 5/12 please
capemaggie you forgot eating
start of gigantic Andree
Andree - Babble word for really big (but shortened).
en 5 was in yesterday's grid, e + no 4
e -- add ****an vincent peale
thx jac and mymuse
Or, Andree, try e + Edna E's hubby.
damn -- I have to go and grab a bite before bridge. Will have a look after the flip but won't be able to babble tomorrow -- busy all day and into the evening. I wonder if I'll survive!
Ah, you got it, Andree. Good.
Hi everyone. jilibus, I tried to follow your clue. I have 12 left and the three eu-words are among them. Could you clue for idiots, Please?
we'll be with you in spirit, jilli
i've just now realized that my cat is left pawed.
bye jilli
enjoy your day jill!
and thx ka and inge
jilli - of course you will survive (but don't sing that blasted 'I Will Survive' song if you do. Hate it!)
lata jilli!
How do you know that, evan? I want to know what pawed my kitty is!
bye jilli
nut - a southpaw cat? Like me??
got the charlie **** and pl., but the third one is making me crazy.
got the eu8 but can't figure out he plural
emceleste - when i point at him, he'll only swipe with his left paw.
eu 8 (1st one) ---- add you tie the ***es on you shoes with your two h***s
eu 8: eu + arsenic and old ***e + did you wash your ***ds?
Well, I did try. Start with eu. Add the asterisks in "pie a ** mode". Then add ch4/6.
maybe he's hurted! aww.. :P
capemaggie - the eu9 is the plural of the 2nd eu8.
the second eu --- change the last vowel and plural
I still don't get the eu... because charlie _?___ only makes me think of the charlie stalker guy following me right now
or the one with the messed up christmas tree
emc - you have a stalker??
thanks KA
Call the police!
are you pointing on his left side nut?
that came out wrong
em ...see my clue at 7:46
Got them! Thanks, inge and jilibus
ah!!! Inge! Ka&ba! I got it! thanks
1st ho4/5 and 5/12 ? combo please
commas are good. are you pointing at his left side, nut?
emceleste -- see mine at 7:47 for the 2nd eu. The first one is the same but with vowel #1 at the end. Charlie **** was a Chinese detective in old movies.
hey leslie, just looked at your slide show...you made a fabuloso bride!
aw thanks nutty
eu8/55 - 1st one = eu + French feminine 'the' + Jackie Ch**N (comedy kung fu actor)
and i'm pointing straight at his liddle nose.
awww
Well, I gotta go... see you after tomorrow's flip or maybe before it... bye!
what strange words those eu's
bye jilli
ho --- gardening tool and plural
Are the eu word all sorted now?
emc, funny you should have a charlie stalker because i have a chalker stalker.
'Nigh jilli.x
Any help for the no7/32 ??
haha... Evan! I love the kitty helmet cat in your icon... interweb famous!~ lol
You have a chalker stalker?
lol nut I'm sitting here giggling at your icon, it's a wonder how you made that
thanks emc...stole him from mrp
Erda - no7 = not a brave person. (Compound word. The brave person is an h4.)
me too muse! and a poem to go with it!
chalker stalker is what i call my husbands cat
I thought there was a mantis out on my porch today... but it's actually a living STICK!
TY Jacula!!
thx ka , looking in wrong direction as usual
y/w, Erda.
i love stick bugs....ichy could use a stick bug for a boyfriend.
alls well that ends well
Two parrots were sitting on a perch.
The male stick insect copulates for 10 weeks!
Apparently.
One said to the other, "It smells fishy around here."
wow that's quite a punchline
oh hey now jac,...alls well that ends well and all that!
If it's true, he lasts for longer than the male ladybird!
lucky b*st*rd
Nut - LOL.
rh8 anyone?
wonder if the she stick bug bites his head off like the preying mantis?
hahaha.... no, seriously... can I give that stick bug thing to my cat!?!?
aaaah!
I HATE BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
rh -- not off and grids can be ****lenging
I'm still not sure if the male stick insect spends 10 weeks sleeping around or, once he's found a mate, she's stuck with him (or to him) for 10 weeks. LOL.
Spiders are the worst... but I couldn't touch nunchie if she played with that shh...
that stick has no head. is that unusual? it still moves thogh?
i was wondering if the male stick spends part of that time by himself.
I'm in california right now, so it's not a finnish stick bug (I don't think we have them in finland)
i think after ten weeks, i'd personally take his head off.
nut - I agree! LOL
i mean...he'd have nothing more to live for anyway right?
I mean, I've listened to the Pointer Sisters' 'Slow Hand' song and agreed with it... but there are limits!
seriously. 8 a words?
and then...nevermind...i was going to cross the line.
hu4/7 please, not song one
10 a words
LeslieAnn - 10 a words.
blah!
maybe bring in dr kervorkian for the stick
hu4/7 (not song one) 'German' + consonant.
hu 4 - attilla the *u* add the last consonant first
ok, Nunchucks and I just went to check out the sitch... and that stick DOES have a very very small head. and Nunchie had no interest. But I will not be out on that porch for a smoke break.
nut - (((HUGS)) Know what you meant.
It's hard to be 'good' at times.
tha ka and jac
is nunchucks the icon cat emceleste?
your cat is named nunchucks? i love that
..... good?... *confused*
However, if you forget to be good or circumspect on here, there is no hope of it going away. The site is archived.
at does that word mean?

oh what a cutie emceleste. i like the one of her poking out from under the blanket
aww
ho 6 builds on the 5/12 which is the one doing the ho 4/5
ho6/21 is those who sharpen.
I love that one too ^__^
I have more that I should upload... like the ones of her attacking a bear on my HDTV
She attacked a bear, emc?

I'm down to three words: ho 6/21 & 5/21; and the an9/27, and my monkey has died. Any help? Please? Thank you all for the clues this evening.
hi everyone!!
hi luwanda
got any clues for an9?
an9 another word for newscasters
an, is the guy who is the main talking head on the news.
hi Luwanda
an 9 is a male profession, performed byk Dan Rather, Walter Cronkite and others
ho5,6 is the one who sharpens, pl
ho5 and 6 those who sharpen knives
One day, I WILL leave a labelled bottle of good whisky on a bus... with a pee sample in it. But only if I can have the camera footage for what happened afterwards. LOL.
ty inge
okay...ichy's latest conquest...in the next hour...he he he
ho 5/12 --- add ***vous nellie and plural for the 6
Ibdawger, inge, mymuse and all... thank you, thank you. The fireworks are beautiful! Now I can watch the football game. Have a great night!

cant wait for nuttsy
Ka&Ba, thanks to you also. Now, it's really 'nite!!
's surprise. *poof*
Scarlet - laughing uproariously at things the family can't see or hear, whilst apparently all on your own in a room, is one sign of either Net or Babble addiction.
Teeeeeeeeeee,heee, HA,ha, ha. LOl, ROLOL.
good evening all
Hi metal.
laughing on the computer whilst not knowing what's going on in jac's house - a sign of...?
hey metal
whoo hooo Scarlet! have a good evening.
hi metal
LA - a sign of either being psychic or of being a nutter?
hi metal. I'm not sure i want to know what's going on in Nutty's house! *eek*
i'm just throwing it out there ;)
i read Jac's comment as being psychotic not psychic! lol
I am keeping uncharacteristically quiet... at least until I find out more of what's goin' on.
madness, metal. there's no understanding it.
Evananut.....?
hi metal
ahh come on Metal, jump in and join the crazy fun
missing two ho 4's: have frost, abode, sharpen and pl short for lovers -- missing?

hi everyone

Hi Nat
ho4/8......... pertaining to the house.... or a buddy from the 'hood
brb
i'm missing an hu 4/7. have the one related to singing
thanks mymuse
Nat, try Atilla and his buds
Haz told us all something very funny a couple of days ago on here. Hope I remember it correctly. It seems the powers that be in Northern Ireland decided lots of official forms should be 'PC', and wanted to write them in all the known languages there, on of which is a Scots cum Irish language that is never seen written, only spoken. They came to a halt on that one when it came to a form about 'mentally disabled children'; it translated as 'Wee Daftie Weans'.
got that one lb, need another 4/7
and add an extra goalpost lettr
hu + abbrev for a New England state, two words
at the end...(drop the snake and add the goalpost)
hahahahhhaahaha mistress....we be wee daftie weans
still missing an ho 4
hi ya ren!

i'm not sure what that shock collar did to her Rennie, but it sure has ichy up to mischief
aaaah, blue skies, squamarine seas.....warm sun
brb - need a refill for my glass.
now now, who put nutty in the shock collar?
thanks mistress - i had to go back to the office and come back home - 28 miles round trips - took me forever
nutty...in the shock collar...twas nay me...
LA, rennie and nutty were kidnapped by some evil good doers and made rennie dress up in a yellow dress and put a shock collar on Nutty to make her stop arrrgh'ing
wazzat rennie poo poo?
and i look so bad in yellow.....
of course.
hey nut stinker
and my throat still hurts
is emc still here?
a glass of wine does wonders for a sore throat
she was nutty buddy

hi ya Jee. ho 8 what makes teens crazy
okay emceleste...lookit my own work
I think maybe that has evanonut crazy tonight too...thanks mymusie
Jeez, ho8 what makes some of us really really not nice! ;-)
ho8 is the plural of the ho7 that men swear are the source of all our women's problems. Teenagers have too much of them, too, making them either horny or aggressive.
hehe.. thanks... no good though
oh no, you're against the interspecies thing aren't you?
evanonut cheated! I was here WAY before she was back ;o)
LOL!!!
thanks for the ho8...got it
hahaha
ichy's in loooooooove
mo8 relates to the life of a monk.

you could do a groundhog day thing with it if you didn't like where it was going.

thanks stid - shoui;d have taken a hit off the inhaler before i started that nonsense, lol
glad to finish today. Wasn't sure the power was going to stay on... looks like we're okay for now, though.
are you having storms?
I want to see "chicanery" in a grid one of these days...
we have had rain and wind off and on for two weeks helen! It's been interesting.
there has been serious flooding in some places, Seattle has had more than a foot of rain so far this month *sound of records shattering right and left* and we have more than a week to go...
sounds exciting - we've just been kinda cold here
stidmama, do you mind if I ask were you live? Is it in the Pacific NW?
I am glad that the worst we seem to experience has been a few hours without power.
yes, pom -- near Puget Sound
We lived in Kent for two year. I worked in Pioneer Square. Used to park in the Kingdome parking lot! :) We also lived in Forks on the Olympic Penisula. So beautiful there.
right now, I think I would be okay with cold instead of rain... though usually I don't do well in it. My sister in law doesn't seem to mind, she just bundles up the kids and goes out anyway. Doesn't live IN chicago but near there.
hiya pom!
Hi Helen. How are you tonight? :)
:-) now the Kingdome parking lot is the baseball stadium and the Kingdome is the football stadium! Things have changed a bit... Forks is lovely! But right now, we're ALL soggy!
so pom, what was the draw in North Dakota? work?
I think it's one of the few contiguous states I haven't been through!
I know -- it made me sad to see the dome go, but the new stadiums are nice. We've taken in several games at Safeco. It makes me sad to see all the flooding. My husband is a men's basketball coach and teacher at the university here. Don't know how this city girl ended up in ND Badlands. I guess someone has to live here! lol
pom, good, tired, went to house warming yesterday where 2 poms (8 months & 11 weeks old) live & brought mine - it was a regular pom-fest!
We have a 6 mo. old Brittany Spaniel who thinks she's a pom! lol When I get home she stands on her hind legs and dances like the girls do. :) Poms are so fun to watch play. We laugh all the time at them. :)
I'll bet that 11 wk old was adorable!!
LOL sounds like powder puff power, gals!
so your husband must be a pretty tall fellow, pom! bet you don't need to climb on a chair to change lighbulbs!
He's 6'4" and I'm only 5'4". Whenever I have to find something he had last I look up on the high place like on top of the fridge! lol
It's also great for painting rooms -- no ladder needed. :)
*grin* well, if you come this-away again, let me know! I have some light fixtures that want dusting...
yeah - the baby was a reall cutie - with a huge personality!
Sure thing stid! lol
i gotta go for now, may see you at the flip, later :)
later helen, thanks so much for the help! *sending puppy greetings from big and little dogs*
Helen, isn't the the fun things about poms? Nobody has ever told them they are little! My Syndey at 4 1/2 lbs. puts the whoop on my son's 80 lb. Golden Lab pup!
Yay and I am done!!!!!!!!!!!!!
goodnigt all
YAY shorty!!!!
good night and sweet dreams...
congrats shorty!
ty
goodnight see ya tomorrow
Well all, I guess the laundry isn't going to move itself. You all have a good evening. I've procrastinated long enough. :)
thanks pom, see you tomorrow, perhaps!
okay, unless someone is lurking and wants some clues, I'll be off, too...
Stay dry stidmama. Nite Helen. Bye all !

Hiya, Fran!

Hi, all!
hi TnC!
Hi, T & C! Wrote 137 down for you...
I guess 114
so, I was telling the gang earlier - i got a job today

Neat, T & C! What will you be doing?
I am going back to work for H & R Block preparing taxes - very part time, no daycare involved, but I have Catholic school tuition to pay for soon, so I have to get to saving!
that's cool
Taxes...Challenging work!
Working at H & R Block was my second job for five years until I got pregnant with Tea. I worked in the busiest office in town, and even did taxes in Spanish. I'm working at a much more sedate office, soit should be fun!
I hope you will still be able to play Babble with us!:o)
I should, just not every day!
Will you be getting up early?
what time does the grid flip over ?
12 am CST USA
in 20 minutes garyandjulie
there's a countdown right above the grid
my hubby gets home around 8:15 and I will work from 9 to noon T/W/TH and then about 5 hours on Sunday. I'll probably be able to play in the evenings, still.
G &J, would you like to guess how many words will be in the next grid?
