Hi Fran
I'm back. My b'day is 22nd April. Day after the Queen's and 2 days after Hitler's.
So, Summer, if you are still here - who won the bed on the size of the grid?
B'day is also the day before St. Gerogre's day (patron saint of England).
yeah, april 20 is hitler's bday, and the columbine shooting
March 6? AlsoGabriel Garcia Marquez, Cyrano de Bergerac, Ring Lardner, Wes Montgomery, Kiri Te Kanawa, Andrzej Wajda, Rob Reiner, Lou Costello, Lorin Maazel, Alan Greenspan, Marion S. Barry, Jr. -- and those you already mentioned
hi erda!
kier - April 20th is Hitler's b'day.
Evening all
Hi Fran!
Or, rather, was...
hi angb!
anyone here familiar with paintins?
19th century painting?

yeah, can't type, jac. ;)
Quest... smooth... anwill will do our best to answer.

phantom word: SCOOBY DOO =)
LOL.
There is a painting I remember, and I wanted to learn more about it... I don't know trhe artist, o title... but it was of a nude black woamn I think with a white loth or towel around her head, reclining on a bed.
maybe the first painting of a nude black person or at least an early one
sounds like Manet's Olympia, but I'm not sure
and you can imagine what comes up when I google that. lol
half way and stuck!
nan, are you still here? i'm not finding that en8, what are the points please?

thanks Fran, a bit wierd eh!
hiya kier!
bye smooth!
what's everyone planning for thanksgiving (for those who celebrate)?
sweet dreams, pappa!
'night pappa
we celebrate with my friends that also moved here from Guam.
we're going to my mother's I would prefer to stay home, but she really seemed to want us to come.
not much planned here, probably just a quiet day with me, my fella and the cat here at home
i go up to northern california to my brother and little neice and nephew (oh, and sister in law too)
we're going to my in-laws. except for my bro/sis-in-law it will be fun =)
anyone want to share a family holiday tradition? besides eating too much and watching football that is
hellooooo
any family holiday seems to fall apart in my family. prefer simple quiet days at home. my in-laws like big family and friend get-togethers, but the crowds frighten me so I usually send Tom and the boys without me.
my bro-in-law and his wife love themselves, talk about themselves, they are so phony. and they sit around and analyze my kids (they're both counselors of one sort or the other) and show off pretty much the whole time. V-O-M-I-T
argh kier!! how annoying that sounds
people like that are sooo sad, kierlex!
our traditions; white elephant exchange - one year i gathered every unmatched sock and called them "SWOP" Socks WithOut Partners. that and massive hearts tournaments - pinochle when we got older.
oh i just can't stand them. i try really hard. and then they also just have PDA's and tell each other how much they love each other when one of them walks in the room. or announce across the room 'OH BABE, YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL' then smooooooch and that. puhlease
when I was much younger... we'd play Yahtzee and put together jigsaw puzzles... everyone's gone their separate ways these days
got all the co 7s 7 8s
7s & 8s
we used to do puzzles, too. my kids love puzzles but i am the only one with patience enough to sit and build a big one.
Still here, stid. Families can be very trying - you try going away to a foreign country for 2 weeks with the in-laws and the kids. It wasn't the kids I wanted to kill after Portugal, and not my new partner (no kids on that hol) after Crete.
hi Jac.
im going to cook up a ton of stuff and its open invite to family and friends, free style this year
oh hi melon! :-)
Hi stid. So, you may see why I've not done my holiday blog yet?
LOL jacula. we've vacationed with my in-laws and i wanted to smother my father-in-law with a pillow or worse
I liked the holidays we celebrated just with the four of us and a couple of friends who were alone. Laid back, fun -- played games with the kids and talked, ate buffet style and didn't sweat the small stuff.
kier - I wonder how is it that the man that fathered the sexy and loving man who is the love of your life can annoy you almost to the point of murder?
Do the sons filter the father's cr*p and invent their own??
jacula--well, he is REALLY annoying and he knows it and he says 'oh well, i am the only child of older parents, i dont know how to get along with others' AGHGHGH
just found sl4/6 which may answer some questions about people people don't want to be with at Thanksgiving
jacula--also, the sexy/funny love of my life also has the ability to annoy me to the point of <justifiable> homicide =)
I should be clear -- I like my in-laws, just so introverted that their large gatherings (there were 5 children originally) are scary.
LOL Jill!
i really do love my in-laws, they are like parents to me (unlike my own weird/distant/manipulative parental units!)
My high point on the Crete holiday was when b'f's Dad approached, hand outstretched (after totally illogical argument due to his alchol level night before) and asked me, 'Can we still be friend, please? SHE's been sending me to Coventry (UK phrase for not talking to me) all day!'
can't understand why a super person like you, stid, should be scared of anything!
jilli - No woman is really a super-confident superwoman.
{{{Jill}}} was shaking the whole way north when I knew I was going to meet you and hetty!
well other than beastly dad, how was Crete?
with no cause, stid -- we were lost in admiration of you!
Crete was fun, kier. I've got the travelog mostly written up and will post it on BabAnon by New Year. LOL.
it was one of those saccharine mutual admiration society things, wasn't it, Jill! :-)
I don't know how I did it, but just got the third Y.
i just want to go to greece. i just want to. . . somewhere with the blue blue water and white buildings and warm breezes and and and
yay! finally found the en8 and en9!
stid - does that mean you thik the Babble meet you had was full of false emotions or quite the opposite, but that the emotions took you by surprise? (If you don't mind me asking.)
jacula -- I know what you mean -- I'm delighted when people ack to come for a visit but hesitate to invite myself to visit them
kier - Spinalonga Island is heaven on earth.
*ask, not ack, sheesh
I'll find a sea pic to show you.
it means that I was so astonished that such literate and well-traveled people actually liked me! We had a great time, Jacula.
sounds delicious...
en8 and en9? You mean there are actually words to find here? -- LOL
speaking of meeting with hetty and jilli, i haven't seen hetty around, is she okay?
hey ho all - how many words please?
i think i need to update my keanu picture... le pant le heave le sigh (chanelling pepe le pew here people)
hetty is well, in Australia by now, then finishing her round-the-world trip via India and England, I think.
187 crone
187 words crone
hi crone! 187
thx stid
stid - good! If it wasn't for that totally unwarantted lack of self-esteem thing you have going on (I do understand, believe me), I'd say GREAT!
stid -- not saccharine. just fun, I thought.
oh that's cool! i didn't realize she was traveling.
MORE Babble meets seem to be the order of the day.
like so many, she has relatives all over the world! :-) hoping someday to have grandchildren in all the countries I have always wanted to visit but too timid to try...
well, if anyone is coming to Hawaii, specifically Oahu, I would love to meet you!
Sorry about the typos! It is very late/early here in UK.
hey, i'll go to oahu!
I would love to meet you Fran! but Hawaii is a bit out of our budget for the nonce...
ooh, yes it is jac - stay up much longer 7 it will be light!
Fran - we'll come, when the money does,. and we will expect leis and massages, and coconut cocktails.xx
see, I have relatives and friends in England, some of whom have visited me here, and other relatives in Australia, and I don't dare impose on them by asking to visit when I haven't been invited.
debbs! you are welcome anytime!
Hello everyone.
hi mkl!
hi mkl!
Hi mkl!
Has anyone finished yet?
jac, i'll be there with leis, but i don't know about the massages and coconut cocktails...maybe barbecue and margaritas.
still have 62 to go
Jill, you are emphatically and purposefully and publicly invited to come and visit us in our hovel any time. Give me ten minutes to shake some of the dog dirt off the sofa cover, and unstick the guest bathroom...
75 to go here
go nan! i only have 72, but i'm doing more chatting than babbling at the moment.
Fran, one of my other problems is that I'm alone. If hubby were still alive we'd be going places, but it's very different when you're not a couple.
Looks like my cooking prowess, boasted of on here, is one day going to be tried and tested. Not found wanting, I hope! I'm glad I don't post any recipes on BabAnon that I have not either invented or tried, tested and altered to taste.
I have 109 remaining...
go stid go!!
jilli - ((HUGS)))
i understand jilli, traveling isn't that fun by yourself.
was thinking of quitting -- 125 is such a nice number and I've hit the wall!
Thank you stid. I love dog hair. We had fawn Great Danes and for years I didn't dare wear anything but beige.
I love Pepe kierlex... too bad I couldn't find a LePew egg cup
jilli, my dad says the same thing.
I was watching a film until 1.25am tonight (then I went to bed). The fillm was 'The Mother'.
pepe le pew is such a perv, but so entertaining...
metal, i did see a Sylvester egg cup.
I agree, nan! I am reaching my dark-of-night limit, too.
pepe is my favorite toon!
I always found Pepe sweet in a way, the eternal optimist looking for love and never quite finding it
cool melon, where'd you find that?
kier, great new icon!
I have 11 words and am not even trying -- too good to talk to you all.
i liked sylvester the cat's little son... always so disappointed in his father... "Oh Father...."
did images dot yahoo dot com search of "antique egg cup" - it was several pages in
Brilliant film! Starring Anne Reid (Ken's hairdresser wife , Valerie, who died due to an electric shock from a hairdryer), Daniel Craig, Steven Mackintosh, Cathryn Bradshaw, Peter Vaughan Directed by Roger Michell 115 minutes, UK (2003), Anne Reid's recently widowed sixty-something mother-of-two begins an affair with her neurotic daughter's on-off boyfriend, Daniel Craig. A very different, west London-set tale from the director of Notting Hill, scripted by Hanif Kureishi
thufferin' thuccatash!
Meant to say, Ken from Coronation St. Anne has since starred in many films, dramas and comedies, Dinner Ladies is one.
ooh daniel craig...didn't think he'd make a good Bond, but the trailer with him in motion was hot!
lots of gorgeous and qirky egg-cups here! Didn't know there were so many variations! I do enjoy these themes
After seeing The Mother film, and seeing her bare boobs, I do have to say they were still pert... gives me hope fror the futer 20 years' hence. LOL>

not much of an acronym, but it serves me and mine well enough
S.E.??
co7/36 and co8/50, allow or approve, one who does it.
Spousal Equivalent.... since we're pair-bonded/mated-for-life/etc. just not "legalized"
too tired to think of an island nation other than Iceland

Hi sprite
hi sprite
hi sprite!
Hello Sprite!
Looks like a fun grid... is it?
thanks lynxxx, got one more word from your list, now i need 3 more.
very enjoyable Sprite
pretty slow-going sprite.
make that two more words. now i need two Os also!
found another ol4/4
phantom: obsolete.
Plural fran - is that lynxxx's 5/10?
olee
my ol4/4 is already plural
Only words that are valid please sprite
Sooooo sorry :( Or can I pretend it was a football exclamation and had nothing to do with the grid?
Aaah - I had that one already!
lol Angb - I'll try!
sure, we'll believe you!
LOL sprite
the ol5/10 is a plural angb
hi sprite, i would beleive you if I had not tried it 6 times already
OK I need a real clue for the on 5/14 ...
lol Andree!
angb, stubborn, usually has an R
or i should say, usually starts with or.
it was in a very recent grid, Angb.
thx fran - I am sure I tried even that before!
thx fran
yw
OK 2 left
i have one more O and i'm sure it's not there.
I guess the fact that I see the phantom monocle means I need one.
i think so sprite, considering there isn't even an M in the grid.
Seeing there is no m in the grid - possibly sprite
That's what I mean :) And it started with oncle, which, if it had been there, would have been french and not valid either.
now i'm seeing enorm! what have you started sprite?
I will not tell about my deteriorating eyesight which just stirred up binocle for me!
41 left to find, saving those for tomorrow. Good night all!
night Fran!
moving on from that missing O now ! and its not french eggs!
Bye Fran
OK - nite fran
nite fran
I am one O short as well. One from the upper row, middle tile.
I have that one sprite. I am missing the second column 3rd row
Sprite - see me at 2.55 - but you must have the missing O!

Hi Tiny!
No, I was missing the oc7. Got it - happy to use that ending! Thanks all :)
Finally - thanx for that o sprite
TY right back Sprite
how can there be so many bo words?
Hi Tiny
It is always wonderful if we are missing different ones :)
hi Tiny... sorry I didn't say hi earlier, was in the grid
I should say hello as well!
as was I, O-hunting. Hi Tiny!
must go eat, back later
Good morning Haz. Enjoy Andree
enojoy, Andree!
There are lots of insulting words in the grid today!
'bye for now Andree
hi Haz, didn't mean to neglect you either
hey Haz *hugs*
morning, afternoon, evening, all, yes i am up way too early!
hi DocGwen
Not feeling neglected at all! Nice to see you sprite - you've usually finished by the time I get here.
Hi to all I have had my head in the grid too
had no luck with egg cup icon for day
Hi Gwen
metal, nice cups! 8-)
I slept in, Haz!
Ah, that explains it!
If you were a guy Gwen that sort of comment could get you into trouble!
yup, but i was referring to the cups, not the cups! LOL
tyvm
LOL
your egg cups are so cute just dont let my daughter see them she will want them
sorry that was for metal
sorry that was for metal
I found them on Google Images... if I remember correctly, they're available in the UK, or from a UK based company
And you're not on commission, right?
why is this still repeating
I wish I was, S.E. and I could use the money, lol
http://www.apaw2claw.co.uk/
i guess i could find all sorts of images if i looked around the net but i'm just using ones on my harddrive.
Hi Doc, sorry to be in the grid and not seeing you coming in.
hiya sprite!
'diablo' is not valid???
have to do some rearranging to get diablo to work
Apparently not!
hello K&B
true, but it says "not found in the dictionary" and not "not in this puzzle".
hello
hi Ka&Ba
Good day
Good morning Ka&Ba
Hello, Haz
And your phantom for the day?
diablo?
lol!
You can come up with something longer than that! I always have a chuckle at your phantoms.
Yesterday we had inns and pubs close together, today Co5/14 - 6/24 and Ab5/16. For some reason I like that :) Next ab5/16 has plural ab6/27 but is not related in meaning, I looked it up!
Ab = Ad in my last post!
I wondered! I was trying to get the a to move and it wouldn't.
After some contemplation on the state of the grid, this word seemed to appear: weltanschauung
I really need that monocle.
Rusty German - world view?
I think I need to share that monocle with KB :)
Yes
that would be mighty kind of you, sprite
hey, my monocle is your monocle!
good morning everyone.
hi Eva
Good morning, Eva.
the 9 is a neat word
No luck on the 9 so far. Could you please tell me what it starts with?
mayhap on a somewhat maudlin note, the 9 I expect is a reality to many who come here.
en
en 9/84
Sprite - today the fe4.7 & fr5.18 is a nice set as well
oh yes - thanks lynxxx :)
phantom-enbolden
ok, shoot me into the decoration. I found the En9. And the En8. Found the F6 it builds on. But the F7 is not valid?
no-seems like you can't pluralize it
Because it's an adjective.
that's never stopped us before(-:
I tried it 4 times, really!
Ooohhh... I like ei7/32 - 8/45. Beautiful words :)
good morning all!
There is no correct or incorrect with Enable; only accept or reject
don't have that...back in a while
that sums it up pretty nicely, KB!
Good morning, hodag!
hi hodag
morning hodag
hello Hodag
hi Hodag, Ka
sprite-any hints on that ei combo?
Eva - there was a similar word in the grid a few days ago - this has a different ending but starts like the duck.
hi Haz,sprite,Eva,Lynxxx & metaleather. Is this grid as hard as it looks?
yes
hi all, butting in to say, no you can't pluralize the F 6/33. It's only a noun in that Peter Jackson movie.
Hello hodag - I'm finding it better behaved than yesterday's, so far.
oh.......................boy!
i found yesterday's much tamer
I must be in a better mood today, then!
ei7.32 - start with the 3 letters of the duck + vowel + then opp of off
hi Gwen, to dat should be interesting!
noe if I can hit the right keys 'll be in bussiness
lynxx-is there something missing in that clue?
Sorree EI - duck - then conson - then opp of off (& plural)
ei7 - three letters of a downy duck, then take the first letters off a body part relating to the bowel which can be ascending or descending.
never mind-got it. Thanks!
Oops I was right the first time - ignore last message - and I'll just shut up now!
we have Otis-related body parts?
Yes, indeed. The body is a wondrous thing.
Haz said a wo-ord, Haz said a wo-ord!
And KB did too-oo :)
Gosh, I hadn't got it yet. Thanks!
*grin*
So did I for which I apologize and don my hair shirt
LOL - that itches!
But I said it first, so pass me the hair shirt.
fireworks. Can I help with a clue?
Doesn't a hair shirt make you itchy or even bl**** ?
YAY for Sprite !!!!!
Well done sprite!
Congratulations, sprite!!!
Might give you a BL6 Bo4.
good work sprite,how long did it take you?
hurray for sprite!
Have to check back to see when I started. Over an hour, I think.
As long as that?
My hair shirt has gotten my attention many times when I need a reminder of the evil of my ways!
somewhere around 2.50 am was my first entry in the log, so yes, 80 - 90 minutes.
enron shoule be a verb, meaning to defraud
It would take me all day if I could stay on all that long. That is awsum!!
training and stubbornness, hodag, nothing more ;) Took me the whole day in my first year too.
................WOW..............
belated yayy for sprite
Sprite - is there an a8?
no
TY
eva, LOL! hope that will be in the dictionary soon
fireworks at last, thanks to caffeine buzzed monkeys
can I help anyone with a clue?
Congratulations metal!
Congrats Metal!
wtg meta!
tyvm
bo 8/50; co 8/50; co 8/45; ei 8/45; en 8/65; en 9/84;
No A8, no. Nothing above 6 with A.
Congratulations, metal!!
TY again K&B - just one little letter got me all the 8s
good morning everyone:) and congratulations metaleather:)
good morning jean, and thank you
Ok, I am off then, going to wash my hair. Have a great day/night/whatever all of you and thanks for the help and the fun :)
hate to run off so quickly, but need to tend to begging cat and head off to bed a bit early this morning... it's not even daylight yet, lol. happy babbling everyone
Bye Sprite - and Metal!
Hi Jean
bye sprite and metal :)
Time for me to take a break. Back later!
that was a good start had to refresh! bye Haz have a good day
An early goodmorning, folks. It looks to be a lovely grid today.
good morning merk:)
Hello and goodbye,Haz. See you later. It's long. I'm sure I'll still be here.
Hi Jean.
Good grid?
I did not think the grid was that ornerous .... as usual, there are some tough finds.
That's what I found, too. I have most of the long words ... not the do 7. The rest I found first and then went back to go alphabetically.
do 7 is a plural of the do 6/27
I think my brain is not working today lol
Maybe it needs a day off?
Yes i'm sure your right Ka but this babble keeps calling me lol
Hi Merk. the do6.27 is like the Irish city - just change the 2 vowels in that to one other vowel
Right now I am stuck, as I usually am on the smal words, on a ce4,5.
I know, jean; I know
the letter merk
or sounds like ce*** and desist
if my brain fails to work i can see me playing this at work tonight !
I have the one with the double vowel. It's the other.
could be parts of the brains too, Merk
it sounds like the things prisoners live in, minus one of the double consonents
Katy ... the letter?
supposed to have a couple million of them ... shortened version
i was talking about the one with the double vowels merk.
Is there an alternate spelling of the stringed instrument ... one with a single stick for the center letter?
or in my case today just one !!
Nope, there's not.
Hmmmm
change the last letter to plural
you go to the post office to mail your par****
So the itty bitty part of our body with only one stick.
yep
going to have to reboot a mo keep having to refresh
That's how my mind goes. I can get the ce7 in a few seconds and then get stuck in the corner on a ce4
but you finally got it, right?
Hi everyone ...
morning angb
Hello, Angh
good morning angh, and im back again!
Hey, angh
Ka, are you an early riser from the Eastern Time Zone?
sorry to have spelled your name wrong, Angb
No, I am an inveterate insomniac
It's OK - I figured you might be wearing glasses like mine - need replacing
Me, too. I'm in the Central and have been at it since before 4.
You are correct
I had to leave to find somthing for my other-half. Why can't men ever seem to find what their looking for,I sware thats why they have us! i FEEL BETTER NOW!
good morning hodag:)
hi Jean
Its midnight here ... Have started going thru the list and hit the co words. LOL. Enought for today. Happy babbling
night angh sleep well:)
Have some good rest and a great tomorrow
sweet dreams Angb
Thanks all.
Night Angb
I can't get into this grid,only 9 words so far that is bad. I think I'll go for now.bye..........lol
bye hodag see you later:)
Hey do 6,27 is Dr. Do****
oh dear, is this an evil grid if Sprite is asking for clues?
And the later do 6,21 is an alt. sp. for those double tires on the back of pickup trucks.
good morning atalante:)
I haven't counted, but I think I might have all of my 7s finished. Hey, Atalante!
Good Morning all, may I have clues for the 9 and 8's
good morning periwinkle:)
I have 41 words and only one is a 6, no 7,8 or 9 :(
They're incredibly easy, Peri. It's a prefix of course. What illness does to old people.
Ok, I am looking, Merk
en + old people are frail and ****
******
9 is plural
thanks Merk, had the fe6 already
figured it had to do with the fe6 but my brain is not quite awake yet.
yw
plural of the fe6/33 is not acceptted tho
and I cannot spell this am
gm everyone
good morning anawaltgal:)
have the en8 any clues around for the other 8's
co 7 to allow or permit and 8 is the plural
The other 7 is to comfort and its plural
thanks Merk, will look for them
foiund the comfort ones, thanks Merk
hello everyone!
HI mrp!
good morning mrp:)
hi mrp!
Merk, found the co7 to allow but the plural is not accepted
sooooo nice to see you guys!

I am stuck at 74 words, will attempt to exercise and get on with the day, bbl
sole
es
SE PA Temple
what is pound cake? what is pound cake? I'm going back to huddle under blankets - away from a world which doesn't know the joys (and pains) of pound cake!
that's right - you ARE near me! now poundcake is a dense cake, got its name fom using lb of butter, lb. of flour, and lb. of sugar
hey charm. mr. p - might have to rectify that by mailing you one!
perhaps you call it "kilo cake" lol
HEy, TO - I'm going to be making one next week for the dept. party (it's called Elvis Presley's cake - starts baking in a cold oven!)
ah! I asked lickety and he said you baked it with a pound coin in it and the person who had it was the lucky person.... or it is a cake that makes you want to drop a pound!
LOL P - it makes you put on the pounds , for sure!
pound cake is gorgeous! wish I could find some over here
ok, I need a recipe for poundcake!
www. epicurious . com then search for Elvis Presley's cake = easy recipe.
charm that one sounds good - besides starting in a cold oven, anything else different?
epicurious has great recipes!
It uses cream. And it's very specific about how long you beat after each addition. cannot go wrong if you follow the directions exactly.
frone
well mr. p needs some recipes
yes I do! any special grandma recipes?
with christmas coming up, I have the good old fashioned mother in law with the evil fruit cake recipes!
p do yo like to bake?
Only if it is in celcius! :)
hmm..........can you convert? nearly all will be in avoirdupois/fahrenheit
just a joke owl! I am ambitemperate
: D btw where have you been? clubhouse is empty lately
owl! I have been in the club of doom!! I do the functions at the football club and it is just frightening how much work there is at this time of the year! I am only supposed to have 15 hours a week, but I get called up constantly
is that why you are emigrating to hong kong lol
LOL! I am on my vitual vacation at the moment!
why have lots of people suddenly got different countries by their names? did I miss a huge babble reshuffle or something?!
i am trying not to be frantic for the holidays.
Atalante, there was a wishlist of where we would like to be.... I ended up on the cook islands for a while! :)
oooooo! yay for the cook islands!
I love today's grid. I hope tomorrow's is as easy, but shorter so it won't detract from hosting our holiday guests here in the US.
I am allegedly virtual holidaying at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong for the next couple of days.... clubbing and shopping!! Can't wait to go to my next destination!!
perhaps I should go somewhere too ... fed up of cloudy UK!
oh yes atalante!! where are you hanging to go??
ermmmmm *thinks* I really want to go to Yap and go diving ... or back to Greenland ... or NZ but that's kinda not unusual .... or maybe South Georgia. Or Vanuatu!
Vanuatu!! Love it!
NZ is gorgeous too!!
the place I really want to go is one of the cook islands, called penrhyn. in the middle of absolutely nowhere
Greenland is so incredible with the night life!!
The cook islands is soooooo beautiful!!
have you eebn to greenland? i fancy iceland
there. I'm in Yap now, in Micronesia. Ready for some diving
Hi folks. I was reviewing the recent log for clues, but it is all talk of food and vacations. Mmmmmmm, where do I want to go?
yup, I went to Greenland for 3 months on a fossily expedition
scrabbler! go large!! go to a daring destination!
Hmm, the grid does not like some of the 'oid' and 'ood' that I try at the end of words.
hi scrabs!
hey merk
Ata! Nice choice!
afternoon scrabbler:)
No clues because the grid is so easy today, I guess.
I want to see the UK and Italy someday.
using micronesia makes my chat log go weird. I'll go for greenland instead
I even have one pie in the oven already and it's only 6:20 a.m. here and I'm up to the 'so' words in the grid.
And Alaska and the northwest US. But my choices are not daring or exotic, I guess.
any clues for the o's from the top o?
My favortie bird is in the grid. Lo4
am away for now bbl, have a good day one and all:)
a smell, a butter alternative, and sp. cheer
I have struggled with those O's too, TO--no luck yet.
Oh, now I am having some luck. TY Merk.
ty merk. one to go!
The oc starts up there and it starts like the wild cat, but ends differently.
Take the first four letters of the cat and head straight south.
letter count please, merk? ty
Ty Merk, I would have never monkeyed that word. Those top-row O's are done. Off to work, my 10th day in a row! AARRRRRGGGHHHH. But 4 days off after today! Yeah.
have fun, scrabs! see you later.
Bye everyone. Happy Thanksgiving! There is so much to be thankful for!
Thanks for Giving!
Cheers!

Hi and bye Owl!

hi and bye, lickety! *anxiously awaits ce 7 clue*
is anyone having trouble with the first part of the do's?
brown: anannual flower - plume like flower
G'd Morning all. Looks like a toughy today.
ends in bottom right corner
Lickety is impersonating me!! I may have to hurt him!
I've worked out what happened, mrp used my laptop with firefox about 3 months ago - and it remembered her login. I used firefox for babble tonight - first time in 3 months too! Figure that! Anyways - I'm not having multiple personalities - just too close to my gorgeous bride.
owl: sorry, not a flower guy. :-)
Impersonation used to be a feature of Irish elections. Vote early, vote often used to be the slogan.
go straight doen nearly - begins with the smallest unit of biology
got to go! later, all!
happy baking, TO!
Hello Haz! Bye Owl!

Hi Haz - and MRP (if it IS you!)
Oh how I love Invader Zim!

Oh have you not seen Invader Zim on Nickelodeon!! It is just wrong!!!!
I'm obviously missing something in my life then! I am logged into Babble from work and from home all the time - can't be bothered logging off
And she's not joking
this little alien is sent to earth to invade it... and he is a 9 year old!! it is too funny! no one take him seriously! he is delerious with invasion plans (like any 9 year old!) and it goes enormously wrong in each episode
All the boys in the house say : .....
All the boys in the house say : .....
all the boys in the house are doing the dishes!

But you'll still find time to babble?
Haz... I am frightening!! (sorry) :)
bo6.24 clue pls
bo6/24 - the same structure as Al the Jazz Singer.
Or bo plus the last letters of the victor at Trafalgar
Time for me to shove off to work - Happy Babbling Everyone and to anyone who won't be around tomorrow HAPPY THANKSGIVING
thanks Haz
Bye, Faerie - Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Haz, I spent the best part of Tuesday crying cause of the IQ test we got back for our son
Why? Was it good or bad?
happily or sadly??
It is very difficult to describe.... he is genius level.... top 95% for his age group....but he is Asperger Syndrome... so I was very very sad for him.
So he is a special boy who is going to need special parents. I think he has got them.
I am sad for him cause he is a beautiful boy!!! just gorgeous and wonderful! He is sooooo smart. He just doesn't understand inferences... we are in for many challenges!
and as far as I've seen, people with ASperger's wouldn't want to be any other way ... it just is a different and inteersting outlook on life]
oh Ata!! that is just how he describes it!!.... he knows he is smart... he loves the way he is!! :) :) :)
its the same with me ... mum always starts feeling guilty that I have bipolar and I can honestly say I wouldn't want it any other way. I wouldn't have what I have without it!
mrpresident - you have the advantage of knowing about his condition. Years ago it wasn't the case, but you can use strategies to help him cope with the world in the way he want.
way he wants (grammar!)
I talk to Luke about him being different... he tells me... "I know that my friends thing I am different... but I am smart and I am ok mum... they are trying to adjust and I know what they want, but I do what I want cause it is how I love myself!"....... oh lord, he can teach us something!
Atalante - I don't think your mum should have any guilt feelings. Its not easy to raise your chilren to be confident well- adjusted adults but she has succeeded where many others have failed
I don't think she should either! but I suppose its the "oh my gosh, my child has Something Wrong With Them, Its My Fault" syndrome. But I couldn't be happier!
Mrpresident I'm humbled
If I many butt in, my friend's son has Asperger's Syndrome..he is now 20 years old...He is finishing his second year at Princeton University, he has been in 2 Broadway shows...he is an absolutely delightful young man
with that attitude, he'll be more than fine, mrp!
Luke thinks in different way, more analytical... not emotionally confident... he can't read emotions.. but he is sooooo gorgeous in so many ways! I just hope he gets the (normal) joke and is able to get along with (normal) people!! He is only 7
I say normal in the way that Luke is considered not
Must go shopping now. bbl
Daniel was 14 when they learned he had Asperger"s Syndrome...he also tested on the genius level...he has learned to "get" along in this world and will do fine as will Luke..Luke has wonderful parents and he can get whatever help he may need earlier
Bye JFB
Mr P If I can but in my daughter has a bad side effect of when she had epilepsy and also ADHD. She has a wonderful nature about her and her outlook on life is if they dont like her they are the ones missing out
Children adapt much easier than we as parents do as we always think why them but they dont they are unique God made them special
I was devasted that Luke was so different!! I just wanted my boy to be 'normal'!!!
meh! normal is boring ;) and to him, he *is* normal.
But mrpresident, I think I understand the parent's instinct to love your child with a passion and to want everyone else to be able to see him through your eyes.
Yes I know how you feel I used to blame myself but Katrina said to me to stop it one day as she is Unique
I know nothing about this MRP but I can appreciate how you must feel as it is awful to have something/anything happen to your child. He sounds as though he is coping fantastically and ,with such parents as he has ,I am sure he will be as successful in life as you want him to be
If we were all made the same way the world would be a pretty dull place there are a lot of special people who make our lives different but I love my daughter with a passion and she loves me thats what counts in the end
I just cry alot at the moment... it is so new to me
just came back and need to contribute - wow - mrp is one wondeful mother. I am learning and helping ,and learning and loving
It will get easier as you grow together and learn from each other
I am now going to but out and get back to the grid
my son is the most special thing in my life
Luke could not have been luckier to have such parents.
Here's my 2 cents - my friend in NZ has an 8 yr old son Rian with Aspergers. She told me that Bill Gates has it. Pretty successful guy if anyone hasn't heard of him :)
the hustle and bustle of havings kids is so hard - but without it I'm redundant
mornin babblers!
Hello evanadine!
My son is just wonderful! He knows what is going on, but he doesn't knw what to say... he says that all the time! I hope that he is lucky enough to have a wonderful partner who loves him when he is a grown up! He is gorgeous, and brilliant!! Who wouldn't love him!!!
hey guys just got in from work and been looking back a bit...my son of 15 has Asperger's too
Exacltly MrP!! I'm sure he will be just fine with you around!
my youngest has a learning disability and she had earned some college credit, planning a wedding, all nornmal stuff...just being treated as normal has allowed her to become a beautiful young woman . would not trade the journey that got us to this point for anything.
he is very gifted mathematically, and in IT, and gifted in all other subjects, he just has zero social skills and awareness of others
but i love him, and he is so sweet natured esp with little kids and babies
our darling children!! they do have our hearts!!!!
yes they do
clod
oops
thank you all for sharing! It really helps us!! I just love that we are a close community and thank you!
thanks sappie -- didnt have that one yet ;)
Hi all. Just jumping in for a moment. I'm watching the wee one today. She's sick again. 8( Haa any1 read "Thinking in Pictures"? It's written by a woman w/aspergers. It lends great insight to her way of thinking and her perceptions.
mrp our thoughts and prayers are with you sometimes it is good to talk over these things as you gain a different outlook on the situation
lol evan
hi all...anyone know what the 9 starts with?
thank you! I am off to bed! another day... BYE!! love ya all!
bye mr p
good night and sleep well knowing you are not alone mrp
Bye MRP ... come back soon
bye mrp...you are most definitely not alone
anyone there?

And I apologize for that horrible typing, still on first cup of coffee.
I've had back problems since I was 12. That sounds like a lot of work to do how are things coming on the homestead?

Hello Jac and Mo
hi ren
LOL, JFB. My son, even though clever enough to get a BA Hons, made himself a sandwich yesterday & put the butter away in the breadbin & the bread in the fridge. He also forgot to send the form off for me & his Dad to attend his graduation ceremony, which is tomorrow. *sighs*
hallo!
hiya, harp!
Hello Harpjane
I always leave the remotes and phone in the fridge. And I shut our cat in the dryer once.
Howdy Harp
Hi harp.
bunny - oh no! Poor moggy!
Jacula, sounds like an "absent-minded professor" type!
co 6/27 pls?
He only tossed about 6 times, I checked to see what the thunking was. Why he sat in the dryer while I threw wet clothes on him?
stid - that's the kind way of putting it, I guess. :)
bunny - I nearly stuffed one of our cats into the washing machine a few days ago. She stood beneath all the bedding as I was putting it in.
co 6/27 - co + model of earth g***e + third vowel
Fortunately, I noticed her!
A few tosses in there wouldn't have ended nicely!
ty bunny...will have to think about it a bit I suppose
I think this is a lesson to all us Babblers. We should NEVER do laundry!
I LIKE that idea!
nobis
oops, at least it wasn't a word
But I think the lesson is, keep cats out of the laundry room while filling the machines.
I can't do laundry, cleaned my washing machine last night with soda crystals then vinegar and it won't drain. Got to wait for DH to take it to bits to mend it tonight
*sigh* so I discovered, harp.

hi all any clues for ad 5/16 and the ad 6/27 after it/
if you have the first 5/16, change last vowel.
bo7/and bo8 please
ty hurshy
Mmmm . . .pollo ad5/16 . .
dobe
Gillis was a good show
8-)
the first do 6/27 please
james do6/27 (focus on the family)
hurshy, you don't mean domestic?
2nd bo5/14 and the bo6/24 right after it please
no, it's a guy, in a conservative christian org known as focus on the family
i don't know what the word actually means
I think that's the second 6/27
do+second letter+male offspring
I am stuck in the BO words
I need the 6 before that one
and it is getting stinky :)
really? another one before THAT? wow.
is that sarcasm I hear?
change 4th letter.
sarcasm on me? no, just surprise.
Hiya all
or you mean peri with sarcasm?
HI lady
hello ladynoire:)
Hiya Peri
Hiya Jean
thanks got it
Hey Hursh
'lo
Well, I lost my job again
oh dear
sorry to hear that lady
they didnt have enough work to justify me on the budget, so they let me go
its just not been a good month for me
(((((((((lady)))))))) are you able to collect unemployment
I think so .. but I may have a new contract in a few weeks
bo 7/36?
on 5, 14 - i;m sure it;s a "duh"
bo6/24 please
it's that southern-speak rascally word, dspike
bo7/36 - if you can find the african country where wild men used to be said to come from, add a consonant
ty - i was spelling it wrong - that's what I thought
yay haz
bo6/24 - structured as with Al J the Jazz Singer.
Hello hurshy!
heidy ho
HI Haz, don't get your clue
Nothing new there! Which one?
lol (i loved the clues haz)
the Jazz clue
Try - bo plus the last letters of Naval hero who gives his name to wrestling holds.
Al J appeared in the first talkie movie entitled 'The Jazz Singer'
now i only need one more B. my biggest problem is S's.
maybe this crowd would know mary kate and ashley better than AL J
ah, but they use an E
still, close enough.
I hasten to add that I wasn't alive when movies went to sound!
bo 6/24?
majmom, that's the one we've just been discussing
maj, that's what we've been talking about
bo6/24 - reverse the letters of a tennis move or a sort of throw and add a male descendant
haz, the never ending font of clues on bo6/24
Do I just keep going until people beg for mercy?
sorry thought it was the 5 you were discussing-but ty got it
how about bo+ "the * word" on showtime+ male offspring
whats the last bo please x
whats the last bo please x
how about beginning of a pillow that props you up, then opposite of off
I would have gotten the bo6 faster If I had seen your clue first, but thanks Haz, I finally found it
Or spelt backwards it would indicate that you want no untidy people around.
bo7 and bo8 please
i don't think i have ever seen a word clued this many different ways.
are there any sc's?
haha, I like the backwards clue
periwinkle - bo7 - the name of a country in Africa, plus a consonant. Then plural for the 8
No, there are none.
bo 7 and 8, the ***** identity, + the first two letters of not young, and the plural
yay, then i will ignore that directions.
no s.
bo 5/14 please x
(but remove U from bernice's clue)
Not africa - se asia . .
where are saloon and balloon?
right, sorry
no one told me i'd have to be able to actually spell well to play this game
bo5/14 - the plural of bo4/6 - looks like a spanish cheer attached to b, or sounds like what you use to steam puddings in.
in the old west and a clogged artery, inge
i think m3 means bo + not daughter
hehe.
Torgone - you're right- my geography can be rubbish at times!
there's a thought for an artist - a globe made of refuse.
the last bo is a bo 5/14, !
Don't tempt Tracey Emin. She makes fortunes out of unmade beds.
the last bo is a bo 5/14, !
the last bo is a bo 5/14, !
the last bo is a bo 5/14, !

clearly this is very personal for M3
ohh dear sorry dont know how that happend!!
Each country could be represented by bits of the refuse we dump there . .
finally finished with the B's, thanks
exactly what i was thinking, tor!
ce7 please
how can i have 7 S's left? i got the hair word, what more do they want from me??
oooh there's a ce7?
we have your old war ships etc not a nice pic !! huh
ce7/32 - a type of flower
found it Haz, right before I saw your clue
what hair word ?
hi, TIG, log says you are online, are you?
sn5/12
do i know this flower?
ok i still dont have the last bo !!! i have gone nutz its official
got it I think
Of course Canada would be made of Tim Horton's cups, but that's not our fault . .
That I don't know - otherwise known as cockscomb?
all i can think is celedon, but that is a color
The last bo adds a male descendant
so it looks like a rooster?
Use the first three letters, hurshy, then change round slightly a continent
hurshy, keep first three letters, then fourth vowel
ce and to ***e weight plus 2 vowels
got, ty haz. i do NOT know very many flowers.
time for a break, bbl
ta haz
a sad lack in my education.
Your're welcome!
snake and two vowels
its the bo/ 6 i have missing doh
Do you need a clue?????
uhoh, inge and inge2 here at the same time - will the space-time continuum hold?
yeah please xx
bo 6: bo + stick + male heir
we are Ing 1 and Ing 2 --accoridng to nutsy
yeah ta inge x
Scroll down for several hundred of them - well, a couple anyway.
3 be, 2 bi, 5 bl... is that all correct?
You need another bi4
whew, glad it isn't another bo
yay, done with B
let's see, besides the spanish cheers, and the fat and pl, what is the fourth O from that top middle box?
That might be the oc7?
oc7/36
ocelots is my phantom oc7... now i have to find a real one...
adj.
On the right track but a more robotic ending
yay!!
it is always nice when one is on the right track.
hmm, that fourth row E needs some work.
i got a bunch of black ones and long times.
so many phantoms today! colon, color, nobody, enno5...
*feels lonely*
Anybody get the bo7? I assume bo8 is plural?
You'll be missing the joys of the perfect image ei7 and ei8 and ei5 might come from that one as well
is the theme today "spanish words"?
wild man of bo**** + consonant
bo7 - to bo5/14 (endured) add Master Twist's name (first two letters)
yes indeed haz, got the 5 now... looking for 7...
bo 6, 24 pls
thanks, I thought I tried that. Guess not.
oh no, not again
HEY! I'm in the grid!
woot, done with E's and 8's!
Indeed you are, Bloodaxe.
as is lisa loeb
and the capital of norway
bo6/24 - bo plus a male descendant with a consonant in between
and a company that makes silverware
..and england
and that word that comes up on the computer - obidos
ty haz
and a kind of pear
oohh, didn't have the pear . . .thanks
it doesn't count though
we're just naming stuff that is there... not nec that counts, sorry :(
what? don't understand . . . the pear . . . oh, never mind . . .
this is where you say, brady style, that that was a really dirty trick
now i just miss one 7, what could it be?? oh the suspense
any OR words? and is there just one ON?
one on , no or's
then i probably need more ob's, sigh.
No or words. There's an se7 available if you haven't already got it.
any of the ei words please
yes yes, 100 points haz!
Hurshy has us all in suspense.... :)
ei5/12 - ei plus spanish two.
ai7/32 - e plus a false god and the opposite of off.
and 50 points from me, Haz -- that was my last S from the right...
hi again all!
like the game co that did Tomb raider
Thank you - I'll store up my points like a squirrel storing nuts for the winter.
what's like the game co, the ei or the se?
26 to go!
ei
Hello stidmama, by the way!
go stid
ty haz
selbony would make a nice word. we should give it a def.
ooh i got it!
*hums happily*
hurshy, that would be the rare primate that has an opposable thumb off the joint mid-arm, lives in africa near trees with dark wood.
stid, i bet you rock at balderdash
what's balderdash?
it's a game where you make up definitions of weird words and you get points if other players think your def is the real one
balderdash is a game where you make up definitions of words and try to fool your opponent
oh -- that does sound gun!
you don't need to buy the game though, you can just play it more simply as "the dictionary game", and all you need is a dictionary (and paper and writing implements)
We used to have a televised version 'Call my bluff'.
I am an expert at inventing what things mean... and I meant "fun" of course...
my grandmother and I used to like to play a game like that, but she was the champ!
i always lose because i make funny definitions instead of realistic sounding ones. and they often involve star trek.
co 6, 27 pls
i se6 dspike's motion
co6/27 - co plus a tennis move/type of throw, and a vowel to finish
Possibly the latin plural of a type of monkey?
ty haz
*wonders if haz means that or is balderdashing*
I mean it! I'm not sure , but there is a type of monkey whose latin ending would be pluralised the way this word ends.
okay, so why is no 4/4 (latin word used in law) accepted but "nobis" isn't? rhetorical question here, there is no satisfactory answer I know...
ack, the dreaded 14!
Maybe because the no4 is used within legal jargon, the nobis isn't.
co 6/27 anyone?
I was slightly annoyed loid wasn't accepted
amnesia bug going around, ain't it?
clued at 12:28, mamato
co 6/27 co letter after m and then you are **** and dusted
TEN!

Go stid!

Housework? Shhh, that's what I'm s'posed to be doing.
di4 i have di** on shotgun
any clues needed before I fast the task
Housework isn't quite as compelling as finding words, is it?
Flosey, you're procrastinating, you know you are.
flosey, I am stumped by the first DO 5/16... please?
for sure Haz
too late... my time has come... sends shivers down my spine... body's achin all the time... goodbye everybody, i've got to go... gotta leave you all behind and face the truth... mamma............. ooooohh..... i don't wanna die... i sometimes wish i'd never been born at all
hi chj! are we are the new box yet?
Housework has all the appeal of a root canal.
like a joint minus an O, stid.
Freddy's better.
oooh, word, hurshy.... *shhh! I won't tell* LOL
that song Frank Sinatra use to sing do*** do*** change the spelling
housework is MUCH better than a root canal, i'm sure.
I see the little silhouette-o of a hurshy...
i know, i used multiple words. but i was singing, so it doesn't count.
So you think you can stomp me and spit in me eye?

Oh, that's good Karys!
You know, the DO**** brothers? Minus an o

Stid, I just accepted your twitter request. Welcome to the nest!
and it's lean and mean...about 5 lbs. and a 14.1" display
okay, trying the co 6/27: first three letters of vertical row + japanese waist sash
Peri...first bit of 'hue' + 4th vowel + split in two prefix
fun daisy! three to go...
hi there: DO 6 and 7 sounds like a pirate's gold coin, but missing a vowel. +plural

chj, I see your icon but you have no flag
thanks
a pretty, plume-like plant, actually, gwen! LOL
ohh... is it ry??
yes hurshy!
I'm missing a DO 4/7, anyone?
just fyi to those who are here, we are trying to do artist trading cards among babblers. Explained at BabAnon under "Other Interests"

Hey, stidmama, I just went looking at the Artist Trading Card site. What's on the backs of them, if anything?
Congrats stid!
back again soon...
and is it part of a combo with a 5, stid?
bo 7 = **** on the 4th of July + joint in your leg (2 letters spelled wrong) + what you change every 3000miles, minus the second vowel
why yes, it is hurshy!
(escuse the talking to myself)
i am now down to 7 S's and C's.
At least that way you're guaranteed and interesting conversation, hurshy. ;)
funny, vi, i would have said the opposite...
i am dulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll without other people to play with.
any clues for the en8?

afternoon babblers!
I thought, ahh, what does it matter. There's no future in nice!
(Just kidding. I am still mostly nice.)
there are a lot of bright lights in nice though.
but that is neither here nor there.
well, i mean, it is there. but it's not here.
TY, hurshy
the name of the game is babble, and i take that very seriously.
And rightly so. What the point of Babbling without babbling?
hey evan!
do7/40 please
i despise S's and C's
the very last bo 5/14 please
*waits for peri to say "NM, i found it"*
do7/40 - pl of do6/27, pirate gols clues
sorry chj, I simply cannot find what I was looking for in this new version of firefox... *sigh* probably just tired...
lol hursh
plural peri...
(If she does, it will save me having to explain what "pirate gols" are.)
si4 help!!
there's a reason we call it pulling a peri :) i do so love reliable people.
brothers and sisters for short, gwe
bo 5/14 a sailor

tyvm

5
Hi everyone. I can't stay long, but wanted to say hi.

hi mim!
5 cl?! yay!!!!
i mean mom!!
so that leaves one CO, and a couple of S's
Hi Book Doctor Gwen
all different lengths, naturally. why does that always happen to me.
let's see, i have a very weird sn5/6 combo already...
and a weird so5/6 combo
make that 2 weird so5/6 combos.
can't see the 2nd and 3rd do5/12
man, how many weird combos can there be.
person who gives and person who receives, peri darling
Hurshy is very shy....
thanks hurshy
how did you know? (or is that a clue?)
She's shy an so and some c's.
ce 7,32 pls
hurshy -- i have the SO5-6 combo that kinda sounds like where you get your hair done... whats the other?
no, a CO and some S's. the other ends like a messy incident, deba***
(!) feuerwerke (!)
ce7/32 - a flower, common name cockscomb, start with square of animation film, vowel, last 3 letters of memory loss
thanks hurshy :)
okay who needs cluesies?
hints on the 9?
Congrats Book Doctor!
Congratulations Book Doctor Gwen
i do i do! but i don't know what for. (makes weak, eva)
en9 - weakens
Yay for Gwen!
plural of the 8. need a bigger hint? 8-)
ty vic
ad6
guess i dont have that 8 :P
ad5, building material in the desert, ad5, change last vowel, ad6, pl
missing a do4/5 at the end of the do words, have the wagon
en + pay a hefty *** + dukes and counts are no***s. then plural
homonym for entryway?
do an amount of medicine
great thanks
gotta scoot. bye for now
OMG, how did I miss that one, thanks Lori
got it, thanks!
now, how come you can have the "plural" of the EN but not of the FE?
evan, the FE is not a noun. no plural.
*F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S for me
because en is a verb, and you need the third person of it. fe is an adjective.
fe is an adj, en is a verb, and it's not really pl it's conjugation
(not a verb, either.) (it's a picky little dictionary)
Congrats sha!
yowzers -- and i was an english major!! *whew* this cold is really getting to me!!
we are just fonts of grammatical information. (i love the word FONT)
congrats, sha! love that flag, BTW
Yay for sha.
Sha, i hardly recognized you with the new icon!
golly gee, what CO do you think i would miss? (and it's NOT co6/27)
lol vic
i got it i got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
co6/24 missing? co4/7? I dunno, I'm missing a bunch myself.
ok, ive got 4 of my 5 8's -- ive got BO8, CO8, Ei8, and now EN8 which am i missing?
now for S5 and 6. may i have the point total, please?
2454
there are 2 co8, both normal words.
2448 ive got
uhoh, point confusion?
does your co8 have an L in it?
weird. mine says 2454
could you folks refresh and see if we can get clear on that point total? would you mind horribly?
does it go by who finishes 1st maybe
time for another break
got the CO8 thats the gaming system/to make you feel better whats the other?
I'll be quiet
no sha, it does not.
happy to check point total but I'm not sure where to look
well for people who are done it is at the bottom right of the list of words. otherwise you have to have a list from BJ or lickety.
ive refreshed mine still says 2448
well 2448 would make more sense, that would mean a 5/12 and 6/21
co8 (without an L) is one who accepts or overlooks another person's questionable actions. (Or, a dwelling, lengthened)
hija all how many words pls
187
thank hurshy
hhurshy, i finished puzzle but my list of words doesn't show a total. maybe it's a browser issue: using Firefox
i use firefox also.
ei8 please
in the orangey red bar? it doesn't say words, avg length, and points?
doesn't matter, it IS 2448, and i have found them.
mine says 187 words then 4.82 then 2448pts
w00t

the second do 5/12 is do 4/5 above it and add another vowel.

Katydid0615, do you have a clue for a do 6/21 word?
which one bittong?
Good Night April :)
And is the do7/32 a plural for the do /21 word I need
I need the last 2 ob words--6/24 and 5/14
co7/35 Katy
do 6/21 (singing) hang down your head tom do*****, different ending.
sorry, co7/36
plural for do 7
ob 6/24 and ob 5/14 are both like the ob 5/14 above them. plural for the six and then plural the ob4/6 two above for the last one.
ob words: o + bo5/6 and then remove a vowel from that to get the other
co 7/36 (and 8/50) is when you approve of something, you co***** or a prisoner + "get 'er ****"
Sorry Katydid,I don't get do clue. Can I have another
'scuse that should be o + bo5/14
ty!
hmmmm, let me think min for a minute.

when i go to licketys list, i put check on the words i'm missing - it's like i never went through it, even though i did - *hunts for missing words for the se6/24 time*
Helen I just type the words in the top space of Licketys and it puts the words into place
I don't find that as offensive as using the Lord's name faerie
12 to go *dives back in - holding Pepsi high above the keyboard*
faerie - isn't that twice the work?
I'll be nice Bill
41 *back to grid*
Helen it is really fast actually I type like 90 wrds per min
well, okay showoff ;)
Heya hk! Did I say heya earlier? If not, heya!
*teehee* I've been typing since highschool and took typing in grad school just because
Plus I took dictation for several years so I've had lots of practice
hiya tor!
typing, did someone say typing? I do that for a living. Dictation, too!
i refused to take typing in high school, my mom told me i would regret that decision, she was right, just like she was right about latin - i wish i had taken latin too
Ciocia I love typing I still have my old old old manual typewriter but it is dusty and has cobwebs all over it LOL
Faerie do you do shorthand?
man, neither one of those were ever offered in my school
Yes I do Bill
instead, i took really useful subjects like trigonometry & fortran, LOL
hi helen -- hey did anyone else have trouble just now? Cathyar wrote to me and said she can't get back in.
wow, an antique, faerie! I love to type, too. Used to do term papers at night for college kids.
I've not done it in awhile but I still remember it
wow Faerie, I didn't think anyone used shorthand anymore!
no problems here Stid
I take shorthand too.
hiya stid - nope, no trouble, but i've been logged on for hours
interesting - I used it - long before dictaphones, etc, came in and still continued to use it by preference
my longhand looks more & more like shorthand with every passing year :)
okay, that's what I thought. It's just been taking forever for babble to load today when I come back.
I did shorthand at school and have used it in almost all of my jobs (Pitmann's) even as recently as last year
I used to know a little bit of shorthand, used it in college. Now can't remember a thing.
Stid - that's why I had to creat a new account I logged out last weekend and that was the end of me
Gregg's for me Biltong
yes, it was Pitman's
faeriekae dissappeared
faerie - i just now noticed that - may she rest in peace
yes, I am glad I haven't had to make a new account...
I just typed all of my words into Lickety's. I thought I was missing word,but all the words are checked off so must have forgotton to enter it on Babble website
it's raining here again.
raining here too Stid
You're faeriekae?
Min -- look at the words that are mostly the same in groups. That's usually where I find my missing ones!
Stid yes Dr_G and I emailed back and forth like 15-20 times he was trying to help me get back in and we ended up creating a new account and saying "lets start over"
i love 'ross the intern' on jay leno

I've got a pretty strong stomach, so that doesn't bother me, but either the other things I took made me feel so cloudy the next morning, or it would stop working after a month or two. I don't know what in the world is so different about melatonin, but it hasn't let me down in something like 8 or 9 months since I've been taking it
yep, booze does it for me, too, Tor!
this grid had a bunch of odd words....
LoL Tor = booze just makes me spueeeee
EN+ what your icon picture is wearing, Judy
ahh, melatonin is good cause it isn't a drug, it's more natural.
en 6/24 - just got this one, add what you wear over your pajamas when you get up
LOL pappa. Thx
3 to go
exactly... and I was reading that it is also a powerful antioxident, as well...
lol no prob judy
go judy go
I think the melatonin resets serotonin receptors or something like that.
co 6/27?
We try to use natural things first, but my anxiety disorder gets too strong sometimes and I need more powerful things...
All this talk and I'm sleepy already at only 9:19 pm!
co 6/27 co + first three letters of red ***ster + vowel
eating turkey makes you sleepy, right? tryptophan?
Could I have a clue for the so5/10 and 6/18 please?
yup jane, tryptophane.
yes Harp you are correct
yes, harp jane, and warm cows milk can also help for some people.
yes harp - they used to sell tryptophan here in the us before the idiot fda got involved
thx Stid!
so 5/10: plural bottom of shoes
Sometimes I just bash my head against a wall for like half an hour. . .I wake up on floor totally refreshed . .
tryptophan is great stuff - it's an amino acid
: but change c to s
I know helen, i used to buy it!
or so + opposite of "short" less the g, then plural
so 5/10 where you go to get your hair done and plural
i used to take tryptophan & had the best, most lucid dreams ever - it was great!
lol HK... all I know is that melatonin has taken me from about 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night, to a full 8.
well tor, that is certainly a unique way to deal with it! LOL
but i read that tryptophan only works in combination with other things in the turkey... maybe not
Now, that would be fun HK
ty
I think I read once that peanut butter also works (but have never tried it)
tryptophan & tyrosine
no kidding I like good vivid dreams
peanut butter works for sleep?
I think I read that somewhere...
did you ever see an insomniac elephant? no wait, different joke...
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
clue for the do7/40 & the second do6/27 pls
~~~~~Fireworks~~~~~~ *has another drink*
ok I just took my night drugs but I'm gonna try to stay to the flip now will wait and see....I've been up since 5:10 am
seems, in the 80's, there were like only 4 labs in southeast asia, where almost all vitamins & supplements came from, & there was a tainted batch of tryptophan, i think a few people died, anyway, the fda just decided to take it off the market totally
YAY Judy!
YAY Judy!!!
Hooray cj!
thx one and all!!!!!!!
Wooo Hoooo Ciocia *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
well done, Judy
wtg judy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow Faerie! that's a long time to be awake...
is that the story? I never used it that much, but it is one of the supplements that used to be recommended for fibromyalgia
do6/27 reminiscent of pirates' gold coins, and pl.
geez, I feel guilty . . . I swear I could sleep standing in a corner.
It's turning into a common thing for me Stid especially when i stay over at my Moms
I used to be like that, Judy -- then I had kids! (no joke, that -- totally messed up the way the chemicals work in my brain)
I knew you could do it judy! good job
no no Judy that is a good thing :)
yep - that's the story - i'm pretty sure that it's sold all over the world except here
woo hoo - fireworks!
Wahoo, Tea!
tryptophan was also one of the things that was working with weaning people off cocaine
I just thank the good Lord that I don't have children
now if only they would come up with a pill to cure my being a jerk and an idiot
I'm right there with ya Stid on the sleep thing!
Yay T & C *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
thx hurshy... didn't get that clue. do you have another?
that's everyone's dream hurshy!
amen hurshy!
I probably have this issue because of my schedule... I've worked only 2nd and 3rd shift jobs, except for a couple of odd spats in my life
Or a drug to cure foot-in-mouth disease.
yeah Tean!
so 5/12 please?
As soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm out. I'm definitely a night person; hate getting up in the morning (although I do enjoy watching the sunrise, but then I want to go back to bed! LOL)
*oops -- did come out of me?* LOL
YAY Tea!
hurshy you are neither a jerk nor an idiot.
change fourth letter of the do6/27 you have
oh, oops, that didn't sound right - i didn't mean it specifically for you
torgone, you don't know all the facts. and can't a girl indulge in a little self-loathing without being contradicted?
I agree with tor -- hurshy, you are really cool.
got it... thank you hurshy
how many more dr9397
but, self-loathe away if it makes you feel better! I know I do!
ditto on the kids, Faerie. I babysat my 4 year old nephew a few weeks ago on a Saturday so my sister and brother-in-law could go to a wedding. I was exhausted!!!!!!!
Only if I can, hursh . . . I honestly know what you mean . . .
15 more Faerie
I loathe myself more than anyone has ever loathed anything sometimes . . .
go dr go!
Judy - I was at my Sissy tonight and there were several small children there that I just wanted to send to a corner or SPANK but I just smiled and said Thank You God instead
you are welcome to join me on my loathing bench, then
15 to go
Gooooooo Dr
geez--freezing rain advisory here. And rain tomorrow. Dad's making the turkey on the grill. Looks like he'll need an umbrella.
go biltong!
go bittong!
go go go Bill
oh man, that's not going to be fun, Judy!
how long does it take to cook a turkey on a grill?
Can't find sn5/12 or sn/5/12, help please?
maybe less people will come for dinner!!! LOL
sn + double vowel + cons.
for both
s + homonym of naked, then change last letter
Interesting clue Hurshy! LOL
sn5/12 rhymes with opposite of bad; sn 5/10 rhymes with opposite of warm
I'm a fat, ugly, ignorant, hateful old trainwreck loser reprobate pain in the butt white trash a%%hole ... Your turn ..
wow. I am just fading out... stidgrant is watching "The Incredibles" and it's so cool... the superheros are back!
sorry, and so5/12 please?
Ok last one and it is an easy one I am sure so 4/4 have the fish, cups, sun, ouch, double o, measure of sound, and bed and board.
rofl Tor now that is really letting it out
i can't say mine in public...
Book so - Pepsi
okay, tor, I'll see your fat ugly ignorant hateful old trainwreck loser reprobate pain in the butt white trash a%%hole and raise it menopausal, teen-distracted, anxiety-ridden, unemployed layabout!
have that one as a 4/5
sorry thats a 4
book: male child + silent vowel
so + stick letter + plural
clue for last do5/12 and oc7/36 please
well helen, if they WERE, they would win.
poor mikeyp - we had a very infamous mikey before, as you've gathered.
thanks hurshy - got it
how about this: trainwreck on disability (read: welfare) who's wasted the best years of her life and is now unable to put two coherent ideas together at one time, and terrified of EVERYTHING.
btw, tor, do you have confirmation on the nice butt? letters of recommendation?
that would be me, that is
do 5/16 please?
a baby is bo** + mj's captain ** + cons, and pl
oh! no, I don't think I was talking about such things a couple days ago -- daisy just got new ones, and told us a couple hours ago!
do5/16, a joint, minus one of the o's
bo 7 is the main island of indonesia + consonant, then plural for hte 8
That is soooooo strange Stid
mabbity mabber, did you get the email i sent you a couple of days ago?
okay mab - you gotta lay off whatever it is you're smoking there - i mean, CLEARLY, from just reading your profile, you are an elegant & informed writer
ob 6/24 is plusral of ob 5/14 before it
no hurshy
maybe the time streams got collided, Faerie? so I kinda knew your mother needed extra energy today and you "heard" me before I said it.
and anyone who understood that, gets a gold star!
still going blind for so 4/4
Stid very well could be <grin>
i just sent it to your aim account, so you'd have to sign on to notice that you had it
do you have s + first number, Book
thx Judy
hurshy, don't get the do?
so 4/4 is a fish
ohhhh.... ok.
yes
got the fish
2 more.... clue for oc7/36 pls
which so4?
so 4/4: bottom of shoe, alone, suns, male child + vowel, in the near future, owie, and first three letters of owie + consonant
do + *** wan (the jedi) + vowel
*wonders if I'll make it til the flip*
and you also
*sprinkle* *sprinkle* *sprinkle*
co5/14: apartment?
:))
Daisy is the big one in bed?
oc 7: first four letters of a spotted large cat, ends in three letters often used for human-shaped robots
*sigh* no...on couch...but snoring
like oc+ 2nd vowel + ** & behold + **,ego & superego
the spotted large cat is oc + vowel + the biblical figure who turned to salt
that counts LOL
yeah...I hope he stays there til I get in bed. he's been bad today! those linens were probably a peace offering
I want an easy but biggish grid tomorrow... about 200 words, with lots of words that build on easy ones.
