"Almost a perfect...It is! Its round!"
I have half an eye on TV -- distracting
stid, and 7 hint would be welcome, thanks
Yeah, watching a horror movie and babbling at the same time is counterproductive
well, watching TLC is sometimes horrifying
ooooh, there are 2 x T7's
I just got past halfway. I have et7. start with et 5/14 that is like a parallel word to "moral", and its plural (6/24), then add a consonant to make it a word that talks about nationality and culture
hi everybody
wow, good going stid
that should give you four words total.
en 7
ta, stid
I'm also TV handicapped this evening. Librarian II, King Solomon's Mines is on
the at 7: a + t**** water/seltzer?
How can you have henchmen if you can't have hench?

thanks nan!

hi muse
stid--I have the et 5/6, but I wasn't getting what you meant by adding a cons. to the 5?
hi jilli
oh -- today/Monday is first day of new jobs for both faerie and nrkii...
miranda -- from the et 5 you can make a word that refers to nationality/country/culture, the consonant you add goes in the fourth place
aha -- got it!
stid! you've heard from nrkii? Isn't this another new job for her?
ooh m****headjujube is in the grid :)
YES! well -- she quit her other job a few months ago. This is the first new job since then.
Oh--of course--geez! and thanks
Faerie found her new job on Friday and starts tomorrow, it's her second after moving south.
I knew about Faerie -- she said she was just thrilled with it -- just what she had always wanted
Did that South Pacific thing have something to do with the en7?
okay, I am toddling off. I just can't seem to keep my head above water... good night all!
half way!

nite, Stid

Didn't it snow Saturday for you?
on the Hong Kong side?
Sweet dreams, Melon.
Sai Kung
g'night jujube
where are you Diane?
It was a bottle of brandy, the last of a batch that Potter and his buddies found in WWI. The cheroot was for Winchester, who knew the meaning of the term in question.
{poof}
I lived out there for a bit but missed the city. I live & work in Kowloon.
ankh -- Me**headjujube's beginning is in the grid
ankh- oh yeah, no it snowed early friday morning - next door neighbor is a gem, plows for everyone :) - well we still have to do the stairs & the back walkway
Hey, look, Doc, there's nearly __ is painless in the grid!
Where is Sai Kung? I spent a month in HK (1939)...
I was here in July for a month I like it here.
Ah, DrB, you're right, I remember now; I can hear Potter saying it.
is only the grid has WWI instead of WII
NT Hong Kong
Sai Kung is in the New Territories (between Kowllon
Right. One of Harry Morgan's better episodes.
*Kowloon and the mainland.
Ok, got it. Didn't go there much then -- not much there then, I think.

So see you then.
the game?
OH! Now I get it.
g'night helen
'night HK
Adding to my confusion: I just tried a Wii game, the hot new holiday gift. It was grand, but all I could think of is "nursing homes would LOVE these!" for keeping the seniors, esp men, active and alert.
Hey, usually I am so sublte I am the only one who gets what I say. As my life says, I like to be too cute for my own good
Your "life"? not your wife? or is that another sample of too cute & subtle? :)
no that's just my inability to type and/or spell
I admire your energy at this hour; I'm at the point where I need short words, spoken slowly. :)
morning guys, how goes the grid today?
BTW,I like Dr.B's icon best this day! Hiya, Sapphie.
whats todays icon theme?
horror movies
This is still 2 hours before bedtime. A lot of my students are just turning in their outlines for tomorrow's paper so I have those to grade. Its too early to go to bed.
You teach what, where, if it's okay to ask?
ty metal
I teach online through Lake Superior Colllege. Currently teaching Introduction to Popular Culture and Classical Greek & Roman Mythology.
Ooooo!
yw sapphie, and welcome to the grid
I "met" a person (online) named Momus yesterday; had to romp through Wikipedia to remind myself.

Right, we wouldn't. Hey, someone clue me on the p's? I have the interior of a plant, but... just tell me, are they babblets or real words? Hi, MVA! How did things work for Kth?
hi MVA
pi5/12 ends like two thousand pounds
must be slow this morning, ankh, don't get your question, but it is early monday here!!
pu4/7 bud light spokesdog spu4/7 mckenzie
"Knowlege is more important than life..."
"What can we learn from that thing except a quicker way to die?"
Gee, Metal, I didn't expect the grid to have that word! Already had the dog; thanks!

TY, Metal.

'night K
morning dear gang! Does anyone know if Kate's hubby came home yesterday in one piece?
HA! There you are! I asked MVA that a moment ago, cuz I mixed her up with you (very sleepy here, sorry). So I was hping you wouldknow!
yes he did
Oh, good, Ashlye!
Just too sleepy to come home, as we'd hoped?
Oh, I am glad! Was really worried for Kate. What was his story?
didnt say, but he had a very good explanation
hi sprite
how do i get an icon
((jilli)) Hmpfff... good explanation for having her shaking and worrying? Ain't such a thing, lol.
Have you upgraded to pro, ashlye? Icons are a pro gadget.
ashlye -- to get an icon etc you have to "go pro"
yeah...causing international dismay? Downright worldwide, now that I think about it? Ashlye, you pay once, for life.
Morning all.. could I trouble some kind soul for an en6?
Hi sprite, aparently his boss had collapsed so he too care of that and crashed at a freinds. He did try phoning but must have misdialed.
erf, not me, Vedaman, sorry...
en + gregorian *****
Ah, F, good.
one left -- been monkeying forever -- it's a t 6 from the top row -- any ideas?

"Watch the skies. Everywhere. Keep looking. Keep watching the skies."
lol FMitch, so I am!

hi sprite
Okay, the movie is over and I am out of here. Nothing like a carrot monster movie as background for babbling.
oh, sorry -- that's all I have in en words so far
is there another ta 6?
Oh. Dang. I was so proud of it. :)
aha jili, that is the 7. and the only thing I could think of was calender
Back to the grid as I am not awake enough yet to chat properly.
Especially for tonight's theme. Sleep tight!
tried to email you details of my visit to Amsterdam, but the addy on your profile didn't work for me.
hey sapphie :) DrB, carrot monster movie?? I feel very Dutch all of a sudden here :D
no other ta6 nan
"The Thing From Another World", the original, with James Arness as the monster
has to be a to 6, then
must drop all the spaces, sapphie, then it should work fine. Did you have a good time?
that is described at one point as "an intellectual carrot," erog, the carrot monster movie
(Got me, too, Sapphie... hoping someone else wouldsay!)
ok sprite will do, not over til after christmas
have the to 6 that you take with gin -- the other one?
Ahhhh, thanks DrB! Sounds like a classic.
do you have the small 2k pounds nan?
vedaman -- did you get the en7? Thnk South Pacific without Mr Ed (borrowed clue)
ergo! Erog sounds like a good name for a monster. Sorry, Nana.
got to go, bbl
although my kids are off to Holland next weekend to visit their dad's relatives
Bye MVA
yes, it is. cold war paranoia in excess (review accompanies icon)
Jilli, I have the e7, I'm finished except for the 6
Txs for weight clue, Vedaman
Oh, I remember, sapphie, Christmas holidays in Holland with friends, right? Drinking beer and having a great time.
trade you vedaman -- I'm looking for a to 6 --- not what you drink with gin
Hit halfway mark, 54 to go
thats the one sprite!!! should be great
you're looking for a little 2k pounds nan
en 6 is like a city in California -- change last vowel

F*I*R*E*W*O*R*K*S

YAY ruthy!!!

Txs, Nan, YAY RUTHY!
Bye, Sapphie.
bye sapphie
and thanks for the e6!
in 5 is the last one I need. any help, please? thanks
Guess I have been thinking too much about that lost hubbie with the misdialing finger. I keep seeing dipshit in the grid.
Yeah, Sprite. I'm thinking hey, he's young, tired, he was upset... but sheeeesh.
in + allow, joey. nan, you want that same suffix
*bites tongue for rest of night on that topic*
I give up --- I've tried adding everything to that 2K pounds -- not getting anywhere!
how many total points?
ok, throw me the fish............... thanks, cybernan
phantom: scenic, width
Misdialing your own number? I think: if you don't succeed the first time, try..... etc.
he fits yesterday's shnook word
didn't try that! -- thank you and I am done!!
nan, 2k pounds + allow
*bites tongue too now*
shnook! :)

I agree, jilli!
back! hello to those that have come on
woops -- I said a wooord -- sorry
past my bedtime -- didn't expect to spend 18 minutes on the last word! Good night all :)
Nighters, Nan. And I agree, "tonite" should work, grrrr!
hi mrp!
night nan :) Only 17 minutes late, that sounds good.
g'night nan
hi mrP :)
Hi Sprite! ((hugs!)) how is everything!
We had a great week on Ameland, mourned and celebrated, laughed and cried together. I am so glad we decided to go :) At home it is Sinterklaas time - so completely hectic. But we manage, lol. How are you?
Sounds like fun!! I just googled it and it looks like a wonderful tradition!
I am well, Maddison is still recovering from her accident ... swan diving off the lounge... her face is so sore!!! the stitches come out on saturday.
Nite all. 12 to go. Thanks for all the clues by proxy. (I didn't actually ask, I just kept an eye on the chat) Luck to all
Sinterklaas is the theme here on Wednesday, I think. Night, MKL. :)
It is a bit similar to your Christmas's Santa Claus, but then Dutch ;) Kids are very excited, really hyper actually.
I wanted to ask about Maddie. Awww... Friday must feel like "never" to her.
poor Maddison! Give her a hug from me :(
night mkl
she is just so upset! she will be so pleased to be out of pain and back at school... it is hurting that she is isolated. We are both taking time off work to look after her... it is Lickety's turn tomorrow.
It is a terrible thing to endure for her, but with parents like you and Lickety, she will manage. *hugs*
thanks :))
Give Maddison an extra hug, please -- and I'm off to bed
WHOA! Weird stuff here tonight! "Word couldn't be added. Please try again in a minut."
sleep well and sweet dreams, jilli. *hug*
yeah, that happens sometimes, Nef. Server overload or other hiccups. Usually doesn't last long.
Did anybody else get some weird messages just now?
No, but my last word took a long time before it registered.
Thanks Sprite. I've never seen that before and it kind of surprised me
yes i got the same one just refreshed
I'm off to bed now too, good night all

to7/28 two thousand pounds + fork part
Went to the net Andree - we don't hav them here
start with weight and the ti** of a fork
fantastic gotcha ty ty
I seldom clue like that as I am always frustrated by brands we don't have here
Ithought "tonitie"was a much better word!!
lol
andree, still dont get the clue, a little sleepy today
blom
two thousand pounds is a * * *
part of a fork, not the handle, but the stabbing part, is the * * * *
and ad ti4/4
combine the * * * and the * * * *
i work in kilograms
and you have the to7/28
then... a thousand kilos is a metric * * *
its still a common word blom, to** of fun
the number after the number after eight... but change the vowel
en 6/21 please
thanks guys, the part i didnt get is the end of a fork, i thought it was the t** of an iceberg

Bye Ang - enjoy that! still, brings in the money I suppose
Yeh, well I do the accounts so that I can pay us ... I've been ignoring our bank balance for a while hopeing for cheques. UGH money. The world would be better without it.
my customers are always saying cheques in the mail!!!!!
Or they haven't been paid - and my response - what's that got to do with us!
I have to bite my tongue
Just realised partner hasn't even invoiced November accounts yet. LOL. No wonder we don't get paid. LOL
lol
It is odd - he is Chinese - so you'd think it would be his first priority. "giggle".
does anyone have the at 7/32
grrrr - I hate all words that start with vowels
plural of at 6/21 add a to 5/12 and 6/21
I spent all day doing the invoicing, its one of my priorities. lol
blom, do you have the to6/21?
me too lynxxx
* add a to to 5/12 and to 6/21

Good morning/evening all. A civilised size of grid, but is it reasonable in content?
hi Haz
a few quirks here and there, but not overly taxing
Hi Haz - think so
bit of a mix Haz
I made it more than 2/3 through before resorting to the list
Morning All...
which, for me, is good
good morning Odin
Oh good. I'll make a start. Good morning Odin. I suppose you're just going to disappear on us?
hello odin and haz
does anyone have the et6/24 and et 7/36
he4.5 Odin
Hey Metal,Haz, lynxxx, Andree and all
II saw that lynxxx
et6.24 - morals/standards by which you live
et6/24 = plural of et5/14

ni5/14 - a small corner or just the right place

yvw

Thanks metal
Thanx metal

Later lynxxx

the first ce6 is ce + the fourth no4/4
it sounds like American slang for a hundred dollar bill,
hi all!
Hello FranMag, nice to see you.
hi haz!
nice to see you too
haz, what breed of dog is spangles?
Mornin' Fran
She's a Welsh Springer Spaniel, Fran.
an English Springer Spaniel won the AKC national dog show this year, they look similar.
hi odin!
hi Fran
hi ml!
Great choice of icons
Yes, Welsh ones are slightly smaller, different colouring and shorter ears.
i just love watching the dog shows, especially the westminster
I know - some breeds I could happily leave at the show, others are SO beautiful.
the english springer that won was really pretty
how's the grid today? i'm just starting, i have a total of 11 words. :-)
But I'll bet it's brainy as well as beautiful. Our previous dog, a dalmatian, was known to us as the Bimbo dog - all looks, no brains.
how funny!
We loved her dearly, but Polka had her limitations in brain work.
The grid, by the way, is okay. I've got to 71 so far and resisting the list for a while longer.
it's funny how dogs display so many human characteristics
hey guys i am looking for the two an5/10's. i have the one which is the plural of the second an4/4
an5/10 - add the spanish shout of exultation
blom, one is a lizard similar to an iguana
the one haz clued.
and the other one?
don't have it yet, i just started
How many an5/10 words are there altogether, blombol?

Ah, the leaning one.
Thanks, FranMag
yw haz
hey guys only have ten left to go. i am really bored here. its two weeks until we all go on leave and we have nothing to do
maybe we'll get some big grids for you blombol
blomol there was talk of the 300 plus grid...that would take some doing!
morning all
oh no flip, i wont be able to hack that one
hi kate! did you find your husband?
mornin' kate
yeah he rolled in at 4pm
does anyone have the en 7
glad he's okay, but i hope you gave him an earful!
looking for the en's myself
I did, I squeezed him to death first though ;-)

i would have done the same thing kate! :-)

Hi andree!
Is it coincidence, do you think, that sp4/7, pu4/7, hi4/6 and di4/5 are all in the same area of the grid?
******FIREWORKS******
probably not haz
Well done Andree!
yay andree!!!!
congratulations andree:)
congrats Andree
well done!! steak for andree!!
I found this quite a challenge tonight, maybe brain is a bit dead
who will cook the steak mrp
You've managed to finish, so it can't be that dead!
I will!! well done steak, coming right up!
Me too. I just finished, and I couldn't have done it without the list. Thanks Lickety...
dianne sauce?? or a bit of mushroom??
I cook when the kids come over these days thats about it
yay! jan gets steak too!
Congratulations jan.
congratulations jan:)
medium rare please
yay jan!
yay jan
Steak sounds good but it's not on my d/4...
steak isn't fattening
well, I have a few prawns here too... medium rare just about ready andree!
yummy
No but it has too much saturated fat for my doctor's liking. Sadly...
Ooh prawns...
Oh you are starting to make me feel very hungry
would you like bernaise sauce with that jan?
I don't like this grid, the letters are in the wrong places
I'd love it, but my doctor---well, not so much.
sorry fmitch!!
its amazing how often the subject of food comes up on chat, we must be a hungry lot
doctor pres says.... live it up! it is only an egg and some cream!
I'll have jan's bernaise
away from comp a mo bb
mrp, can i have a steak even though i haven't finished?
I LOVE food!! love to cook too!! andree, some prawns and beraise coming up on your steak... makes that a surf n turf!
no fran you have to finish the grid before the reward
fran, you are a darling heart!! you can have anything you want!! can I take your order??
mrp have you got some nice fruit, I'd love a smoothie
I love to cook too mrp but can't be bothered just for me
nice to see you embrassing the fruits kate!! :))
one medium rare steak with worcestershire sauce and some prawns please.
*puts on the chef hat*....
embracing***
I'm trying out a semi-raw diet, smoothies for breakfast and lunch then a cooked veggie meal for dinner
oh embracing, I thought you were accusing me of embarassing them!
kate... apple, kiwifruit, orange and touch of ginger... with a sprig of mint
sounds awful kth, i will stick with mrp's offer of the steak and prawns
oh am back all this talk of food is making me hungry lol have to make do with a slice of toast me thinks
andree I thought it sounded quite terrible but I'm really enjoying it
Andree we could always put a large shot of something in to liven it up?
surf and turf is up!! with demi glazed baby potatoes, snowpeas and sweet kumera and honey mash
wow, do you cook like this every day mrp?
mrp what are snowpeas nad kumera
I am a great believer in everything in moderation, eat what I want in small amounts
snowpeas are sometimes called chinese peas
kate, you need to come to my house!!
kumera is yam??
oh ok
they are very young pods so the peas are just little bumps
They are like mange tout but fatter
we are so lucky in Aus, we can get any meat and veg we want
found it spelled kumara, looks like they are sweet potatoes
I should really try shopping somewhere other than Asda lol
fran, your steak is up... topped with prawn, worcestershire sauce, creamy potato and broccolini & caramelised pecan
we have purple sweet potatoes in hawaii, soooo good.
deliscious mrp, you are a great cook
thanks mrp! excuse me for a second, i really have to get something to eat, i think a chocolate chip scone (or what passes for a scone here) is calling me fron the kitchen.
ah! I love to cook! you just come over anytime you want andree!! I am always happy to have you here!!
I love any sweet potatoes, especially with roast dinner
okay, i'm back
and I am pretty good at dessert!!
me too mrp
a moment on the lips is a lifetime on the hi4/6!!
hm, didn't think you could make a plural out of at6/21
last few words a proving to be a pain, can anyone help with the en6/21 pretty please?
en6/21 - add the film related word, but change the last vowel
I have to cook up a storm at the end of the week, help my daughter in law with miss 3's birthday paery, 35 people, mostly adults

en**** man... not quite human
Or, FMitch - add large asian country minus a consonant
Ha thanks Haz
Glad you got there!
daughter in law is generally capable, but with brand new baby its easier if I do it
in the end :)
ah! sounds just like a MIL!! :)
mil?
Mother in Law
my MIL loves me!
I adore both my daughters in law
she helps me out an awful lot too! :)
if you feed her what you just "fed" us, i'm not surprised
I hardly see mine, she lives too far away and doesn't travel
she loves my cooking!! swear it is the reason she still loves us!
she is probably like me mrp and loves you because you make her son happy
I also swear that half the D words refer to food!!
oh andree!! you are right there!! he is abit of a gusher about my wifery
although I can't see it myself! :))
happy happy joy joy - found my last E! I am not a MIL (yet?!ever) but I promise to be very nice to any woman who makes my son happy and keeps him from coming back home!

no, we said how HANDY your list was Lickety
kate, just another way to spell PM hours
kate, another word for evening
arrrrrra arrrrrr arrrrrr

yw
fran what does yw stand for?
anyone have both Ss from the bottom left S? i have the smelly sc5

It differs only in the final letter (sc5) - use a vowel instead of a consonant
haz'e clue was more accurate than mine
pours haz a obttle of champagne!! cheers darling!
there is only one more s word. take the smelly word less the last letter and add a vowel

We were truly just the best of friends for 10 years or so, known each other for 16 --- then 3 years ago we both looked at each other differently :D.

I emailed photos of my kids out instead of sending cards last year, I might just do that again this year
hi dad
it's a bit of a cop-out but most people I would send cards to don't get to see us very often so they enjoy seeing how the kids have grown, at least thats what I tell myself

doh ta babble x
Sorry, M3, I just saw your request. Had my head in the grid. Thanks BabbleRabble to answering.
that upper left hand A has me stumped. I don't like As.
well, I see I have overstayed my welcome and will be off
Come back again, you can't ever overstay a welcome here.
I suspect that BAbbleRabble is an alternate name for Chj, any other opinions on that?
you haven't overstayed your welcome, your clues are great, I just don't like the look of your icon lol
I thought it was a carryover from yesterday's + gems or jewels, until I clicked on it...stay!

whats the weather like over there at the mo, the colder it is the worse i tend to get
sheryl, oh dear, it will hurt for a few days and start to get better. do you think a heating pad would help. reiki sounds ominous.

lol
reiki beats meds any day

hi evan
how is everyone this morning?
en plus movie theatre with the ME in it
en6/21 = what the fairy godmother did to the pumpkin
sorry, that's the 7
tut I mean without the EM in it
there are three kinds of people on this grid: those who can count and those who can't
lol sam
just ducky evan - and you?
lol sam
my back has been getting worse for over 10 yrs now, i have tried the tens machine, a new one out ( i was a guinnniepig) cant spell that, but didn't work, had physio, everything you could think of, but at the end of the day, nothing seemed to work
absolutely exhausted, but thats because i was at a concert last night...heh
cant get the en 6!!
scatty - my guess is that you've already tried everything 6 ways to Sunday and have found what works (at least a little) for you. Stick with it. I'm sending you good thoughts :)
what concert evan?
the most annoying thing is that when i moved from Wales to Oxford, they started all the treatment from scratch, ie three yrs worth, by the time they decided what was wrong with me my spine was too bad to do anything with
M3, kth gave a great clue ----en + word for movie theatre without the ME
Tenacious D! *woohoo!*

Morning everyone
I need a clue for the en6 please
morning saphyre
afternoon saphyre
hi saphyre
en 6, last four letters are short for going to the pictures
hi saph
good afternoon to you scatty :)
chronic pain is enough to make you absolutely crazy. i've seen enough people with it. a lot of people are ready to dismiss it as "all in your head" which is doubly frustrating.
what time is it there
Anniebrooks, thanks for the M3 clue.....................FIREWORKDS FOR ME
congrats inge
congrats to inge!!!****!!!!!
9:35 am
YAY INGE!!
going to the pictures?
was a great show -- so entertaining!
I bet - Jack Black is a tirp
*trip
yeah, he was exactly how he is in his movies + on tv -- total energy! and the even did little skits in between songs, just like on the CD. the whole show was a little story -- i think similar to whats supposed to be in the movie...
another clue for the en6 please? It's my last word...
i get annoyed when a so called friend is a claiming disabilities when she is faking everything, i can't even get my own socks on and the dla say that i don't need help, my friend walks to wk, stands in the shop all day and claims carers allowance, when she was reported buy quite a few people for frawd lst yr they said that its what the dr says, its funny how she only has things wrong with her that you can't prove one way or the other
hello today. does anyone have the et words, any of them
et words, think morals and foreign peoples
well done inge
very frustrating scatty...
scatty that's terrible, they always make it difficult for the people who really need the help
that must have been a blast evan :)
thnaks grace
en6 where are you!?
I've seen so much of that scatty, it's horrible, and the people who really need help don't get it
i know, it makes it worse that she rubs it in my face all the time, i get mobility allowance because i can't walk very far period, she get that and carers, i am going to have to learn how to crack up in the drs, thats all she does, and of course look up some illnesses on the net before i go
fireworks! thx anyway.
congrats gracem
my neck is completely screwed up from a car wreck years ago (actually bends the wrong way) but it doesn't compare - I can live with it most days.
yay grace!
same here Angela - got hit by a truck on my way home from work last year while I was driving a miata - and I try not to complain because so many people are suffering much more than I
I know - there are definitely people worse off than

an, small black annoying summer insect + 1st vowel + 2nd vowel
Laters fizzer . .

ci6/21?
thanks anyway scatty
bye fiz!
ci 6 = ci + what you pay on some motorways, to get over a bridge
hi
ci 6/21 == new york is a big ***y and if your use a shovel to remove dirt you are left with a h**
What kinda word is THAT??!!
a word that everyone will get stuck on and will only be found by monkey typing
a 16th century musical instrument resembling a guitar with a pear-shaped soundbox and wire strings
Or have a profound knowledge of 16th. century musical instruments!!
ci6 ci+ cross letter + spanish cheer
is a cross letter ever anything other than a t?
not that I know babble
so why not just say t?
sometimes wonder myself !, just what seems to be done
you all give the greatest clues
love you icon maggie
its an old barn i painted in watercolor
very nice capemaggie (i love cape cod)
are bj's clues up today?
ooh, if we are voting, i vote for just saying the letter instead of all this cross/stick/snake business. or be more vague and just say consonant or vowel.
i second that hurshy.
he5/12, not the reddish colouring agent.
he + the dude whose wife turned to a pillar of salt
he 5/12 == you buy land to build a house on ...a ***
'nother weird one, eh?
Great clue, hurshy
ty
this grid isn't as bad as yesterday, but it's still a bit of a sticky wicket
a person owned by a lord to work for him
I also vot against snake letter + chair letter + eye + cross letter clues . .
me two
lol tor
right on tor
hi chj i guess that is me three
i take it you think they are horseshoe letter + hook letter + first vowel + small round vegetable
??? LMAO
(if you read what tor spelled...)
ha..i think babblerabble has started a revolution.
Good!!
hahahahaha
we've tried to push for eliminating those clues in the past, but the trouble is, only the people who happen to be chatting at the time see the talk about it, and we don't want to harp on it and hurt any feelings...
are both s's from the bottom left sc's?
ic7 - any clues please
yep blood
i would like to know that myself - i have odor but not that other S
small round vegetable? is that the 57th word of the alphabet, radish?
yay, thanks TO
ic7 pet mantis ic*y + short form of evening
ic 7/36 == ***abod crane the and alt spelling for sundown hours
rad gwen is the short form
Take off the cross and add the first vowell . .
thanks TO
chj, of course. how modern. 8-)
hahaha..GREAT CLUE tor!
o thank u 4 the clues all
does small rpound vegetable = urinate
indeed it does chj

well, half of him, anyway
so who's got the W?
chj, no that's the 58th letter of the alphabet, P
actually ALL of him
his friends jusgt call him pee
i have the W !!
i do!
mr urinate herman?
pulled a peri again.
Good afternoon all.
lol TO
mwahahaha!!
Hi, all. I love this game, but couldn't do it with just the list alone... your clues today are spectacular! What minds you have... and humor... so necessary for this GRID-iot!! LOL
w(h)ich W?
hey haz, you want to add your vote to the cross letter debate?
oh spoil the fun, chj!
stop you are making me hungry(ier)
urine makes you hungry?
Hi everyone
i was wondering why i craved a roll with meat in it
finally got the ic7 thanks to your clues
There's a debate?
get with it hurshmeister
um, not so much a debate as a general outcry
yes haz. a debate! i love this game!
I don't think there is ! Everyone seems to agree!!
Okay, what are the sides?
the montagues and the capulets
Hi mari you on?
everyone who is currently speaking up feels that instead of saying, for instance "cross letter", we may as well just say T, or be more vague and say consonant. people who disagree may not be speaking up at this point... or just aren't here...
the a side and the b side
no chj, its' the bloods and the cryps.
i get to be the leader of the Bloods.
lol
cross letter is too difficult to type, or sounds stupid, or what?
great taste or less filling
i think the real point is that cluers should try to avoid as much as possible clueing a single letter
Boxers or briefs . .
I'm partial to the Pirate Channel letter, myself (R)
Surprise, surprise - I would rather cut my own throat than give out cross letters and snakes for clues. I HATE those clues with a passion. Now let me get back to my fence.
i don't like the cross letter thing because i think if it is a one-to-one code, it is no different than SAYING the letter, and it is just a facade, a pretense of cluing.
except for those times when the babbled out brain just will not accept anything less... ; /
and i cant think of any reason to clue two single letters in the same clue
haz, you hate snakes and crosses? traumatic shildhood boardgame?
a cross letter is a t ..... everyone knows it is a t .... it is not a clue it is a fill in the blank
a cross letter is a t ..... everyone knows it is a t .... it is not a clue it is a fill in the blank
but in those cases, TO, as babble suggests, we can just say the letter.
ketchup or mustard?
argh
yup, and when you say "crescent" and the reply is "what's a crescent" there might be a problem LOL
lol
My timer says I have less than 1 minute left....left for what?
bgmadden, it is just a glitch, don't worry about it.
BLOODS! mount up!
what woiuld that wise guy fro star trek say......yoda?
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhh
Thanks hurshy
: D
clue we must....'
not say cross letter we will.
urine letter, long letter, 2nd vowel, 1st vowel, snake, tent-frame letter!!!!
:|
tor's mad that he didn't get to be the one to irk me
Hi, just came back in - I agree with you here - I thought it strange to call cons. by nicknames but it was what seemed to be used so went along with it
tut tu cross letter
whats a tent frame letter....A
perhaps there should be some rules set down for giving clues??
awwwwwwwwwww, hursh.....*puts on cute face and big brown cow eyes*
chj,. yes, i'm a rotten speller. you noticed.
chj! NOW you've ruined it! LOLOLOL
pleasa?
smile and say ch**s* letter?
Angelsong had mentioned putting together suggested guidelines for those giving clues, but I'm not sure whether she has put it together yet.
ooh...a letter that ryhmes with gee.
well we can't have Rules so much as Suggestions which we Encourage people to Follow as Gently and Kindly as Possible
congrats, chj, you got to the ned of my post 8-)
rebels unite! we are babblers we don't need no stinkin guidelines
Rules would need a Method of Enforcement, which we have Not Got
we need a rulke against having rules. dammit.
As much as I don't like "just spell it out" clues, I reject the idea of cluing guidelines . .
(going back to the annoying grid) (this is supposed to be fun you guys)
Hurshy, I'M a method of enforcement
i think part of the problem is that there always going to be different levels and styles of clueing depending on who's giving the clues and there's no way aroubd that
Perhaps one of the problems is that older babblers (in terms of use of the game rather than seniority of age) know what the perceived rules are, newer members don't.
yes, and stating the numerical placement of a letter in the alphabet is just as silly as not giving the letter
i think the only thing we can do is try to discourage the use of silly clues without hurting feelings.
I like cute clues that suggest the word rather than the spelling
Gosh, from having joined a grid in rebellion, suddenly there's a move to conciliation.
haz you nailed it. and the reality was that not everyone finished.
you're right Haz, and guess I'd be considered a more recent player
hurshy has it right ...... those that want to go beyond the snakes, and chairs may ..... a voluntary thing not intented to cause problems ... this is a preference for me
i like definitions - i am whole-brained
c*air letter? (ack!)
and i like puns
and also cluers sometimes have to tailor their clues to the level of comprehension of the clue receiver
hooray for puns!
indeed TO - but I do find some of them a bit too cerebral for my old brain
chj are you thinking of me after 9PM LOL
It's disheartening when you give a clue and get 'Huh?'
I would have to vote on clues that stimulate thinking as that's why I babble.....
but it should require a bit of thinking
definitions are not helpful with the word is titration or crenel!!!!!
*looks guilty*
agree bg, make people at least think!
bgmadden - just spotted your icon!!!
:)
they are if you google it - a lost art
yes but i think we would probably all agree that our objection is not to easy clues per se, when someone really needs an easy clue, but to clues that are merely a pretense.
if the clues don't work for you, ask again
By the way Haz I finally got the pup up..
ack!
So I see - absolutely lovely!
although the log format then made it easier to look for clues
gwen, why do you keep acking
TO, don't feel guilty on my account - I admire clever wit - and indeed br, we can ask again
i TOLD doc not to switch the chat log :)
i am guilty of many "huh?"s
Hi I'm back for my last 10
wow now that were on a roll lets get to other pet peeves
ack!
Thank you Haz..Is anyone having problems with this site or is it me?
everyone knows mine, hence the ceaseless torment
what problems are you having, bgmadden? perhaps if you refresh the page...?
sure, let's hear it chj
TO - I don't think you actually say 'huh', you just ask again, which is fine. I don't mind giving another clue for a word.
hahaha...you trying to get me in trouble flosey
so what do people have in the way of 7's? i've got that IC and an EN
not at all, but if we're airing out might as well go all the way
Sometimes the clues are so oblique, and Euro-centric, I have to ask to clue for idiots. I don't feel bad about that.
at7/32
oh dear what have I stepped into the middle of?
run kt....run.
et7/36
nothing bad, nTkh, just nice honest discussion
kth, pay no attention or you sill start screaming!! 8-)
sill = will (ack!)
ti7/32
I don't like the clues that just spell it out, even if they are in code (just for the record). Btw, even though I'm failrly new here, it didn't take more than a couple of minutes to figure out the 'rule' that you don't just post grid words in the chat. So there are rules of a sort, already.
to7/28
et7/36 think some song from "South Pacific" but stop short of the talking horse
*applauds*
to7 2000 lbs + fork part
oh no we can't have rules about cluing that would be ridiculous
aw MAN, i know that TO from miss marple!
TO word, not TO babbler
drb, aren't you cluing the en7 word there?
K.Elis, exactly, I figgered that out pretty quick too.
yes, I mistyped again
yes, I mistyped
There can be guidelines though - the debate centred around the spelling out of words via hump letters and snakes.
repeatedly apparently
yes, Rules would be Harsh, but Suggestions are Friendly
oh ok I don't mind those clues if the word is difficult
indeed hurshy, much gentler
there are always some words that you just can't get without someone spelling it out for oyu
nTkh, the Suggestion on the Table is to Just Say the Letter when Necessary, instead of having a Silly Code
... or conventions. Most people will adapt to the style they see being used.
and for those who don't want clues, they can always turn the chat off
we DO want clues, just not facades of clues
I vote for saying the letter *if* it comes to that, but I prefer to have clues that are at least a bit of a challenge first.
oh ok, so for impossible words where you have to say the letters, just say the letters
snakes! ack!
*really likes k.elisabet*
I agree with K.Elisabet
thank you hurshy!
mutual, btw. :-)
Must go for now everyone..making chicken and noodles the old way....and I've got to get the noodles made.
usually, nTkh, you find that you can clue part of a word, but maybe need to fill in one letter. so we are suggesting just saying that one letter, or simply saying consonant or vowel, would be preferable to the stick letter business
boss came...did i miss my chance to complain?
T H A N K and Y O U !
wow, go bgmadden
Mmmm . . . noodles . .
*group hug* now everyone make nice
morning all! total for today>
does old way mean you have to catch the chicken too?
it would also be nice if it automatically turned any grid words typed into the chat log into ****, like the swearing filers they have in some chat rooms, I hate when annoying people come along and post loads of words on purpose
come on and have some everyone...It cooks all day
i dunno, nTkh, i think that might be hard for doc to program
be right there bg - love the idea of home made noodles
trolls will be trolls...not much to do
since the words woudl change every day
it shouldn't be too difficult, just a few lines of code and an array containing the words for the day
K.E. Old farm/Amish style Flosey
K.E. Old farm/Amish style Flosey
well you can always email that suggestion to the doc and see if he'll do it
there must already be an array containing the list of words for the day otherwise it wouldn't know when you entered a correct one in the grid
it would also save those of us who accidentally post words from all that embarrassment :)
the filter might slow chat down a bit, if the grid is large
I will do hurshy if others think it's a good idea
but they are the best clues- and funny, too!
i think it's a fine idea if he can do it and it doesn't slow the site down
love your ring TO
hmm... TO, maybe it would be just as funny if we saw *bleep* instead :)
ty flosey. i actually tried it on.
many times if no one else would publicise the word, that it got in the grid would go unnoticed
sorry babble I don't quite get what you're trying to say, can you rephrase
It could turn the **** log **** a mess .. You wouldn't ****** if you gave a **** or *****ed ..
now where was i, at7, et7 and ti7. which of these are normal, and which should i ask clues for?
lol tor
foflmao
et7 is normal (a plural)
at7 is an off-key plural
FAB at clue there ahz
ti7 is a plural also, not a normal word in my vocab.
Glad you got it!
you mean by off key that the word sings badly?
Like you wouldn't believe.
Hi, everhbodh...I need a clue for the en6 and the in6 please
ok i will take a ti clue then if you have one
If you named your fork points?
in6 say in a deep, ch5y voice
en6/21 - en plus a huge asian country minus a consonant
to7 is a shared annuity
ti7 - replace a can with another word, then the beginning of the downy duck (ti6) then plural for 7
ok, i got the ti7 but am confused about that en6 clue
ok got it now
en6 is a type of oak, the country referred to also provides tableware.
fairytales always have en* ed forests in
ty haz! : ) later all - time to get some food!
(there are a surprising number of words that can be made off your en clue, haz, lol)
oh that's the 7, I'm not paying attention, too busy eating piza
Bye TO - have a good day.
Mmmm . . .pizza . . .
downy duck?
It's funny - when you have the word, the clue seems obvious. It's less so when you don't have the word!
yay, with all this lovely cluing, i'm down to 9 left
SMALLS!
the duck thing is an ei4 that isn't quite in the grid today
Smaller - what sort of duck provides feathers for quilts etc? Use the first three letters to end the word.
Hey TO!!!!!
en 6 === new york is a big **ty and **tive americans sometimes live off reservation
otherwise referred to as *****down
Haz - hahahahahha! got it!
Great, smaller!

*hates to say it but she has pulled a peri AGAIN*
an + tolkein's mobile trees
Well, as I have advised periwinkle, once you ask for a clue, sit on your hands until you're given it.
lol
Too late. Already typed it cluelessly. LOL
well at least i have company
Tomorrow I will have to do the last word last
Okay, back to grading papers. Buy bye. Buy bonds.
now i need TLMNTDP. can't spell anything with that :(

kate how are things today? Or are you fed up with telling the same story!!
I have no idea how you do it hurshy, 2 left lol

I'm fine thanks caitlyn, I appreciate you asking
thanks haz!
i still need one N myself though nTkh
You're welcome K.Elisabet
ok I only need one more, I have: 9ni 5no

a type of art work
ti 4/5 4/4 4/4 4/5
nTkh, how many from each T box?
ti nervous twitch, plural
now babblerabble, i know you will understand and take this in the spirit in which it is intended, because you are the one who asked about the silly clues. if nTkh wanted the list, she'd get it.
ti == involunary movements
Haz, what a great ni- clue! Keep 'em coming. Thanks.
sorry everyone I closed the tab by mistake, 2 from each
i needs one from each. have you got the decorated pole?
You're welcome, Scarlet.

gee nTkh, all the t4's i have from there are normal
ok i must be blind then lol i'll keep looking
no good deed goes unpunished
but i do miss one from there so it may be that just one of your 2 is normal.
been away for a bit....did i miss any good solutions to the great clueing controversy
lol babblerabble, it's no big deal, of course, just figured you might... not have thought of it... and that once you did... you'd find it logical.
oh got one of them 1 left from the right-most T
I will stay far away
oh for crap sake it was the simplest word ever!
babblerabble don't take things so personally, relax and enjoy
it is a sign of my respect for your intelligence that i mentioned it at all, babblerabble
fireworks btw
Well done kth
nTkh, what T do you think i would miss from that box? could be 4 5 or 6 :(
Read Babblerabble's profile - he's here for the game only.
LOL

Do you have to5 - imperial weight?
evening everyone, am at work so in and out of grid tonight:)

Not bad, stid . . I move like the wind . .
brb phone
with every sigh, i become more mad about you more lost without you and so it goes...
ohh cute hurshy
isn't it, though? :)
any suggestions on how to find a high school friend without paying somebody? if they have not signed up at classmates.com and a free white pages search fails?
okay.
contact the school? see if the reunion committee has their address
google their name?
or hire Adrian Monk
i don't think my school knows MY address, so i doubt they know anybody else's. and he did not go to the reunion... but i suppose they might have his address anyway (i did google, that also failed), and i LOVE MONK!!!!!!!!!!
LOL Une!
:-D
at least he's a he, you have a better chance of finding guys as they don't tend to get married and change surnames
classmates.com used to let you send messages free and now they don't - i tried messaging a mutual friend but unless she is a gold member she won't get it.
*grin* I changed both my first and last names! LOL very few people can find me. Though my parents still live in the same house.
I take it classmates is like friendsreunited
I think so kth
what about one of the classmates you've "found" already, hurshy?
most people have amazon wishlists, although if you find the list you can't contact the person without buying something off their list
have you tried the msn and yahoo messenger people directories?
hi stid - you changed your first name too??
well but how am i to know if it is the right person, lots of people have the same name?
yep. sure did -- dropped my first name and went with my middle name. That was before I got married. I had the same name as my mother and things were just too confusing!
i just emailed one of my friends to see if she has contact info for whoever ran the reunion so i can email them and see if they have contact info for the person i want, lol
you could try phone directories if you have some idea of where he might be living
very interesting stid! i can understand the confusion issue
very interesting stid! i can understand the confusion issue
worth a try, hurshy! I can't think of anyone I went to high school with that I would want to be in contact with... the few who live around here are so not in my social circle!
yeah, i'll have to look in my parents' phone book when i'm there at christmas. i think he still lives around there.
well, it's not THAT interesting, firefly!
hi all! Total for today??
108 walnut
did you google his name and the place name together?
thanks stid!
yup, didn't work
okay, down to 34 and stuck. going for the list. brb
googling works better for... illustrious people
it's interesting to me stid - i've never known anyone to change their first name before, although i know a few guys who do use their middle instead
you can google me... *grin* I am SO unique! LOL
he was going to become a carpenter - do they have an association?
Turns out it's a family tradition on both sides of my family. People get named for their parents or grandparents and then use their middle name or a variant of the middle name. I can trace this pattern back about three hundred years...
have you tried using msn search or yahoo, they give massively different results and often have more "junky" pages at the top, like personal homepages and stuff
But I am the only one in about two generations to do it!
YES hurshy -- they do! the carpenter's union... good idea!
how odd stid, it must get very confusing if you're trying to trace the family history
of course i don't know if he actually did become a carpenter, but i'll try it. i did a yahoo people search... but not the IM thing... i doubt he'd have IM
It was, until I figured it out. Now I start looking at other data as well as names. Besides, with non-standard spellings and illiteracy things like who they lived with and where turns out to be a better way to identify a person.
you could also try searching for other members of his family, some names are easier to find in search engines than others
okay, need to check laundry... Monday is my BUSY day!
well i found a thing that i think is him, it listed some relatives names so you could tell and i think i remembered his dad and sister's names, but then you have to pay to get address and phone number off it!
so frustrating.
in many states, carpenters have to be licensed and bonded ..... call office of the secretary of state and for a relatively small fee they will do search and give you the address and phone number
if the information exists then you can usually find it for free but sometimes you have to try REALLY hard
if it's not insulting to do so, may i ask what age range are you in hurshy?
stidmama, did you check out Peoplefinders.com
i'm 29... and the one i found that i am pretty sure is him said 29 too
ok, then is it in any way possible he'd be on Myspace? I'm 27, and a lot of my old classmates are on there - I found lots of old friends!
I even found two I'd went to Jr. High with, in another state
I use to do adoption search (as a volunteer) so I use to have software but I stopped thatt. It was so draining and I was going broke
i really doubt it - he's not the type of guy to do myspace
hmm, well, i think you can do a search anyways, without having to have an account - maybe just give it a shot to be sure
hurshy, did you check people finders.com
msilver - peoplefinders has him, but i have to pay $9.95 for the info. i will if i can't find him free.
you might find someone else who knows him still, 6 degrees of seperation...
I might be getting Peopllefinders for the month to help someone. I'll let you know if I do. I'll do what ever searches you want.
i have to decide which i prefer - awkward call to local carpenter's union, or spending ten bucks. oh wow, thanks msilver, that's so sweet of you.
okay back.
grayed the A!
She's paying to get information to find stuff out about the woman or woment her husband is cheating on her with. She caught him with one. She gave him another chance. Now he's with someone else.
oh :(
oh how sad, msilver.
and the C is done
It's not me. It's my cousin's friend. I'm finished with men and marriage!
to quote adam sandler (or whoever's song it is to begin with), "love stinks!"
J. Geils . .
and the D (just letting folks know so I can help if you need it)
oh msilver what a waste of time, she would be better forgetting about the women and the guy and getting on with making herself happy
ty tor, you are always a wonderful font of information
en 7? clues anyone?
(ooh i was thinking that too nTkh!)
i can only tell you if i put you under a spell first...
bichon, to cast a magic spell...
pith
I have Little Silver (my icon) my kitten Sasha, and 3 other daughters. I'm perfectly happy. That's enough love for me. I don't need any man to have to worry about hurting me again or dying. It will have to end one way or the other.
um, not for the EN, bichon!
thanx stid.
Afternoon, all! Long time no Babble.
not necessarily, msilver, you could die first (is this more cheerful than your other two options? hmm...)
Heya judi ..
I told her to forget about the whole thing but she has to show certain proof for the divorce. He stole money from her. It's so complicated.
ick.
well hi there judi!
Not with my luck
Or you could find a loving reliable man who stays with you the rest of your life . . .
and that's why my grandmother refused to marry her last husband legally...
like torgone!
1st an 5 please x
torgone is a GREAT guy, msilver, and he's not REALLY in the czech republic - but he has low self esteem.
her third husband was a toad who took everything out of the house one day when she was teaching.
an + tolkein's mobile trees
Kiss a frog, marry a prince.
she should have kissed him and turned him into a prince, lol
Kiss a toad, marry a thief.
that's what I've got tor, even if he does disappearing acts lol
snap judi :)
We'll see. I can't get marrried anyway. I have Little Silver. She wouldn't be too happy about that at night. I'm fine with things the way they are.
can't stand the thought of her mother doing the horizontal mambo, eh?
=O
No No
hi everyone! oh, I see we're on my favorite topic..... marriage.... I'll abstain.
I didn't mean that. She likes to sleep with me.
why is it your favourite topic mama
ah.
Wise thinking, Msilver. A little pussy is always better than a big toad.
Somehow she thinks I'm a virgin.
lol
=O
ROFL... why do we only hear about the unfortunate marriages? My other grandparents barely missed 60 years when he died of cancer. My Tom is a wonderful man...
I was being fasetious (never did know how to spell that word)
facetious
my grandparents, parents and parents in law are all happily married
Good for you, stid - I'm happy for you!!!! They're not all bad....
i know one couple that i know for sure has a very happy marriage. others that i think might, but you never know if people are only happy in appearance.
I'm a court reporter. I think that's it.
c in third place, MAMA :-)
and some people (my in-laws, I believe) complain a lot but care deeply for each other. This month is their 50th!
Ah, I don't think happy couples are so rare. Me and the ball and chain have been married for 21 years.
very true, hurshy
people seem to think my marriage is unhappy because we're not jealous or possessive over each other, I don't see how that's a sign of unhapiness
en 6 please x
sounds healthy to me, kthdsn
people are just weird, nTkh
en6 man was a movie (en6 is in california), except the last vowel is different.

Yay, Stid... to the finish line. LOL Smooth, you're still in the Babble mode. Yeah, your guys got short shrift.
okay, so who needs clues for another 10 minutes? Then I need to work on a math bulletin board...
i need clues
me, me!!! i'm trying to go listless today. E's, please - i've got en7/36, et5/14, et6/24x2, et7/36. what am i missing?
what are you looking for Vshu?
and with ohio and michigan ahead of us... even though we had a great season... oh well, at least it's a game
et 5/14
en 6 and 4 (in that order after the 7)
et 4/5
thanks vshu and stid. *diving in*
et 5/14 is a word similar to "moral" but without the religious undertones.
I think Michigan got shafted... the Gators? Excuse me. I think the bowlmakers have completely lost it. Navy and Boston College might be a goodie.
help please? i cannot get lickety's list from here....i have three p words: to destroy spinal cord, stake used in rock climbing, and the potatoes with their first letter moved to the end.....what am i missing please?
michigan's playing the gators? wow! yeah they did get shafted!
et 5/14: et + short word for "hello" + consonant
the last p word, TO, but adjectivize it
got that one stid - just the ens to go...
NO, Ohio
it's a 5/18 before the pu 4/7
Ohio State gets the Gators in the BCS
perfect, stid! ty!
Michigan gets USC in the Rose
errr.... I need to check my lists.. lol I hadn't seen who's playing who yet ( if you couldn't tell;)
brb
It's a mishmash of mania for about two weeks... I'll take it. Love the game.
could be worse... WIsc could be going to something like the ponsettia bowl .lol
Down to my last word, the last NI 5/12. Any help? Please?
Woot, fireworks!

ni 5/12: not the eighth or tenth?
YAY Design!

Vshu: we use Lickety's List (link at bottom of this page)
OH!!! thank you!
*waiting for scarlet*
Got that one, too, Stid. This one on the list is the next to last listing before the 5/10.
i need sc 5 the second one please, i have the smell

later jean!
I have those, Stid. Now I'm really lost. What my list says is that I'm missing a ni5/12, and I bet it's a gigantic fish!
me 6 definition is "a heavily fulled cloth, often of wool, tightly constructed and finished with a smooth face concealing the weave, used for overcoats, hunting jackets, etc"
bye jean!
have the en7 need the en6 please
you are missing ni 5/14, ni + first three layers of the stuff that covers everything in my house...

Fiz, your clue was great, just what I would have said
thanks magz

Hi Metal
Hi metal! is that a snapshot from the movie "The Hitcher"?
sure is. my absolute fav. scary movie of all times
You're the only other person i know who knows that movie!
I thought today's theme was supposed to be "heavenly beings" but it appears to be scary movies. Slight difference!
i saw it once when i was about 5 and i haven't been able to find it since.
it's so scary because of what it doesn't sho
w
exactly. i still have the semi scene burned into my memory.
nota
Hi Nef! long time no see

What an entrance, nef!
Hi Nutty
you could probably find Hitcher online somewhere
hiya dawg!
hi all, ti5/10 please
i'll have to try. it's been so long. i just worry that it left such a grand impression on me that when i finally see it again it will have lost it's appeal.
lbd, I've been here frequently, but haven't had enough time to finish any grids lately.
ti5/10 - our beloved foot fungus
How are you?
thanks Vicuna
Hello Peri
Was wondering how the wedding went. It's been that long!
it may not be AS spectacular, but it'll still be pretty good
Vicuna, I've chatted in the word box and put words in the chat box so many times that I've had to try and not do both at once! :D
to7 please
brb, gotta look like i'm working
The wedding was fantastic! It was chilly that day with a touch of rain, so it was inside Heritage Hall at Fort Missula! We had a wonderful time!
Heh, Nef. I don't know which is worse, the public embarrassment of words in the chat log or the private embarrasment of writing a long reply to someone in the word box!
to7 - annuity scheme, heavy weight + fork bit
both lo5/12 please
thanks Vicuna, never heard of that scheme
the long reply in the word box! *I'm* the only one to give myself a hard time then! Here in chat; everyone gets a good laugh!
Whoever dies last keep the pot, peri.

i'm back Nef, I'm just glad you were able to get there through all the fires and stuff. too bad it had to be held indoors.
it really worked out nicely though because the reception was planned for indoors anyway, Lbd

hello everyone!
hey, fran!!
hi une!
aloha fran
hi chj!
une, is that an english springer in your icon?
yep, my mom's goofy baby :-)
he's addicted to rawhide chew sticks :-)
the new AKC national champ is an english springer named James.
I love love love springers!
this one was definitely a beautiful dog.
no doubt . . .
i just love watching the dog shows on TV.
If you are looking for an icon for tomorrow you might take a look at http://www.strangenewproducts.com/ But be forewarned some of these are a bit much (okay, WAY too much, but sometimes it is fun to shake you head at what they sell nowadays).
yep, my mom watches them ALL the time :-)
hi everyone!
thanks doc, going to take a look now although i have my icon already.
hi kier!
how is everyone??
I'm not sure too many of these products would be acceptable icons, but they are worth a...uh...look
good, kier, and you?
good. am home with my 4 year old girl, she has stomach flu. almost over it tho, fever is down and no barfing for 36 hrs!
drbernabo, pardon me whilst i review the recommended site
wow, some of those things are definitely weird drbernabo, i think i'll stick with what i already picked out! :-)
several jaw droppers, huh?
oh kier, i hate when my kids throw up, especially since they usually do it all over me.
yes, i was kidn of proud of myself for not abandoning her to her dad. I usually just can't even abide that smell, but i made it through 4 times! And our bathroom is super clean now, LOL. she spiked a 103.5 fever but seems much better today...
doc, probably not the most practical new products out there, but definitely interesting!
I was just trying to find something general about what is new out there and most of them are for specific companies. Then I found this thing and I just had to share
doc, those are disturbing. esp. the first featured item. ewwww.
just because they are new products does not mean they will survive to be old products...
kier, when i was young that smell was enough to make me puke myself! since becoming a mom though, i'm a little more tolerant. Dad can't handle it at all!
well thank you for sharing doc! :-)
you would think people were making this stuff up, but apparently not
wait until somebody sends the link to Jay Leno. It is a 10 minute routine for sure
yes, they sound like the made-up new products that Letterman does every now and then
i hope you don't mind me calling you doc
It's better than being called dopey or grumpy
very true
it doesn't look like anyone is asking for clues
anyone need clues out there?
fran, yeah, i know what you mean! i soldiered through tho.
Hi Fran and Dr...I could use some help on the ti5,6, and 7 if you don't mind, please?
i always need clues. i am clue needy. is this a clue welfare state?
do you know what starts with an o
ti5/10 is ringworm
TI5 is the very best of the TI4 before it
smily, on + small muscle spasm
TI6 adds a bit o' Freud to the TI4 and the TI7 is the plural of that
what does that mean
smiley, you asked for an O word right?
dr you've lost me
thanks...got those pesky ti words...I always forget the ringworm word...guess I don't want to remember it.
how about the other o word
ti6 is type of metal + first 3 letters of a downy duck
The TI5/6/7 are all off of the first T4/4
kier, relating to the ear
fran what is that suppose to mean
ot4/5
what you lost me
smiley, the two O words are ot4/5 relating to the ear and on5/12 (on + small muscle spasm)
how about the second ni5/14, and the second ni5/12 please?
jee, second ni5/14 is the singular of the ni4/5 before it
second ni5/12 is a lice egg + picture ** (like a driver's license)
wow...strange words....thanks fran
yw jee
hi, all
hi pam! how are you?
Hi Pam
how about hints for the e's in the right hand column
hi, fran and jee
I am ok
any other clues fran other than what you had
hope you are well, fran...
i suppose it would be impossible to go a grid with just normal words that everybody would actually know and use. As soon as an a and an e are next to each other you're pretty much off in Latin land
I think that this is a good learning experience for all.
on5/12, on + blood-sucking insect minus the last letter
lol, drbernabo
o4/5, o + blood-sucking insect minus the last letter
pam, i'm doing great, glad you're doing well also
thanks, fran
I tell people I am on the better side of fair
The first two E's in the upper right have to do with a branch of philosophy
I keep hoping that you are better than that Pam....Keep improving! YOu will find something more important to fill the void I am sure.
The next two have to do with types of people (et6/24 was a Smothers Brothers album that is actually out on CD, "Think e*****"
are you sure onlawyer is a word, FranMag? =P
there are thre blood sucking insects which one
The final E up there is like the first except you drop the letter in the middle
Some of my best friends are blood sucking insencts...
there is only one that fits the letters in the grid
are you serious that is discusing
lol kier!
Thanks, jee... I think I am improving, but I don't want to rush the process to the point that I go into some sort of denial that will kick me in the end, you know?
oh i cant believe i didn't see those E words!
hi cluers
DRB, I resemble that remark
hi april!
I do know...so hang in there. I am sure you will find your "happy place" inside yourself.
yes, but only three of hte five heads
thanks, jee
HIya Fran
well, 4 yr old is up from nap
well, 4 yr old is up from nap
bye for now
drb--is there another way you can clue the et 6/24?
okay kier, hope the kid feels better soon
bye, kier
pam, politicians don't always have the best et6/24
oh, duh, I have that one, fran
Okay, one more (times three) clue request....I cannot find any of the three to5s. Any help appreciated.
I missed the one, but found the singular to5.
if you mean the 2nd et6/24 it would be like the et5/14 only more like "***k at nite"
to5/12, gin and to5
grazie, drb!!!!
to5/10, alt spelling of 2000 lbs.
okay, now one more...you are doing great!
to5/12, to*** pole (native american symbol of animal spirits)
16 tons and what do you get
totem
another day older and deeper in debt
that's it jee!
whoops.....thanks fran....obviously got it...lol
:-)
everybody sing
another day older and deeper in debt?
st peter don't you
call me
Was singing with you chj...just my computer is old and slow and way behind....thanks for the help.
tonight at the flip I am going to avoid watching my icon movie and distracting myself from the task at hand
that may be hard doc, it's very clear that you are really into that movie! :-)
Tonight I will turn off the TV and try a musical background instead
ok, so for phantoms I have insipid and chain, And why can't anatole be a word????? LOL
In a world where words that do not look like words are actually words you have to expect that words that look like words are not words
if you get rid of two letters in the middle it is one pam
okay, going to finish reading my news feeds before scrabble, see you all later!
we should have a contest each day for the highest value phantom
what an odd word, drb, thanks
And your class sounds terrific
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
hi, min
nothing like babbling and teaching at the same time thanks to the joys of the Internet
Hello Minv
LOLOLOL, Drb.,..

hi, gwen
tight, tonight, entice, so many phantoms this time around
may I please have a clue for the w word?
oh, i am not helping with today's theme am i? I love horror movies; could never settle on just one "favorite"
w(h)ich W word?
fireworks
width too
wi4 /10-think PB&J sandwi** without the cross letter
...there's only one
Take the desert out of lunch
yay, merk
umm, that was the clue!
Congratulations Merk on your fireworks! Good for U!
lol...well fine clue it was
Hello raelite! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid!
my brain needs some winter tires...oy
I'm doing well..and thank you
Hey everybody! I seem to have only 2 left, but my eyes and my monkey are tired. Can someone please clue me the ce6,21 or the in6,18?
Hi frogtaco! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid!
in618 finish with what you hear when you pick up the phone
icon adjustment complete
He looks all wet to me
ce 6/21 is ce + no 4/4 frogtoaco. Don't have in 6/18.
yup, there was some raining in the movie.
that should be a theme: wet people
the icon won't enlarge--what movie?
in 6 is a word related to speaking. in + 2000 lbs + vowel
pam, it's from Castle Freak, a most underrated gem of a horror movie
Oooh. An HP Lovecraft movie
wet people LOL
ahh, thanks, gwen
(i don't have too many horror movie images on hand to pick from)
I wish horror flicks were a genre I liked... well, I mean Young Frankenstein and Rocky Horror were fine...
Castle Freak not exactly a Lovecraft movie, at least as far as i know. but the producers made lots of those as well.
Thanks for the clues, Gwen, Min, & Dr! Fireworks for me, for the first time in a long while.
pam, those not horror movies! 8-)
I shoudn't have said "liked" as in theory, I like them a lot, I just get too wigged out watching the filmes...
Its based on Lovecraft's "The Outsider"
Congrats, frogtaco
hmmmm, didn't know that. I assume they changed it a lot, yes?
But RHPS has a couple of wet peple ("You're wet." "Yes...it's raining").
Congratulations frogtaco on your fireworks! Hooray!
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, frog!!
lol, gwen, my point exactly, they are not horror flicks...
but I used to read Peter Straub and Stephen King without flinching, go figure...
Does anyone have a clue for the he 5/12 word please
Yeah, pretty much. It was a minor HPL story. Not like they wanted to keep the dialogue
drb--i have seen RHPS more times than I care to admit...
Actually, I need the second he 5/12 word if you have.
The first he 5/12 is a Spartan slave and the second is a color
min, a type of fake tattoo. a plant dye. female chicken plus flower car**tion
that's right, the second is a plant
pam, it's a different brain process -- books and movies are completely different animals
sheesh. i don't know ANY definitions so I should just avoid them lol
oh, true enough, gwen. and since reading produces visceral images for me, i rarely see a film based upon a book I have read
lol, drb!
I am at a loss for the spartan slave--this clue from one who despaired of the words in the grid a few minutes age???
*ago?
pam, and i am just the opposite. i rarely read fiction, and i have better luck at it if i have already seen the movie
okay, pam, try something that is not a little but a *** tacked on
oh, i am an inveterate fiction reader... movies don't do it for me, what can i say... i read non-fiction as well...
pam, it's a common 5-letter greeting, subtract one of the Ls. Then add a T.
thanks, drb!!!!!!!
Thank your for the he clues. I finished he words now.
and of course I will see any movie with Mr Combs in it!!
got it, gwen. thanls
yay for fiction :) hi all :)
*thanks

pqridmd

how goes the sock puppets Frannie?

sock puppets?
weren't you making toys out of socks?
a new mouse makes a nice gift.....i love my new mouse

*scary dreams...woooooo*
it's favorite horror movie day mama
let me guess..... scary movies theme?
i had dueling banjoes in one of my stories a few months ago and a pic of the spooky looking hillbilly boy

*gathers pile of true horror to ship off to mama*
the original TCSM is in the MOMA...
*watching for UPS truck*
theres scary and theres creepy
don't do either
ups will be driven by the the girl who drowned in a well 10 years ago.
once she leaves you will have "seven days"
will look for a UPS truck driven by a very poorly dressed skeleton
with bad eye makeup mama
I'm with you, lbdawger - give me a good mystery or something that will make me laugh til I cry!
when i was a kid, my middle sis and i were watching late night movies, i think it was Frankenstein. when we were walking back to our bedroom our oldest sister screamed "NO! nononono" man our feet didn't touch the ground. we ran so fast to our beds!
"seven days" of what?
speaking of mama, have you finished the plum series yet
no just the first book
have you bought two for the dough yet?
mama do you watch midsommers mysteries?
lol lbd
yes I bought it - I'm that far, and I dust it off occasionally
midsommers?
oh mama dear...read it soon else i'll maketh you watch the ring, and i warn you that it disturbed my sleep
it's a british mystery. it's really good. i think it's on the biography channel on sundays
I will take it with me to Minneapolis and read it on the plane!
Frannie, laugh now. man we were so scared i don't think either of us slept til dawn
who was talking about the Librarian series last night?
Hubby watched it...he said it was better than the first one.
good bear
ohhhhhhhhh midsomers
*pat, pat, pat*
hi rennie!!!!!!
Rennie!
*runs screaming from rens icon*
Hi Rennie!
*helen has hands over ears & is singing LA-LA-LA-LA - doesn't want scary chat to give her nightmares*
hey ya'll!!!!!
did someone call me? :)
hi rennie!
it was a dark and stormy night
hi LA!
Hi LA!
it's the end of the log as we know it
and i feel FINE!
"here's johnny" i see fran!
Hi Helen and lol LA!
hiya leslie, ren, nut, chic, mama
you poo heads are nutz
i don't like horror movies so i will stick with turquoise
no, you're Nutz
no you nuts are poo head
so, rennie, do you like Midsommers?
yes i AM nutz
i'm not nutz
yes rennie, it's one of the first horror movies i ever watched, although i used to love kolshack the night stalker on TV
LeslieAnn - I saw your wedding pics - they are absolutely BEE-YOUTIFUL!!!!!
chalker stalker?
awww thanks mama
you is too nutz renster, i got the certification papers right here.
my life is scary enough, I don't need movies
they ran the night stalker series a few years ago - scary! funny!
mama, we are thinking of trying to get a chicago babbler get-together going, you interested?
mine too mama
you are a chalker stalker nutzoid
*holds up rens nutzo certification papers for all to see*
Yes LeslieAnn - Helen asked me last week - I would love to be included if I can!!!!
i'm not certified!
she's related to Mr. Peanuts? *looks at Nutty*
Too
*looks at the paperwork* - not valid, it's not notarized
too too too too too
leslie is a very good organizer!
is too notarized!!!
LA has to be for the type of work she does.
knot knot knot
haha you should see my desk. organized chaos!
Nutty, i think that's the sales tag from the peanut jar.
*signed by the president* see! are toooooooooo
LOL nut!
knot knot knot - it is the sales tag dawg!
oh! mamabear, odd question but you don't have a personalized license plate, do you?
yeah, the president of the scooby doo fan club
she was in the loony bin and everything...member ren!
what work does LeslieAnn do??????
yeah, but i bet you can find anything you're looking for on that desk LA
would ya do it for a scooby snack?
no I don't LeslieAnn.... I wish I did!
i only do it for chocolate
unless i've just cleaned it lb... then i can't find anything!
click on her icon mama.
ok
well someone stole your idea... i was behind a minivan at oakbrook about a month ago with the license plate "MAMABEAR"
sounds like my desk and house and...LOL
mama -i once saw this license plate: RUT ROH, the really funny part is that it was on an astro van
i was wondering if i should flag it down... glad i didn't now
lol HK
That IS funny helen!!!!!!
should have anyway leslie
lol leslie - what would you ask the woman, 'excuse me, but do you babble?' LOL
tell them you're the babble police
wasn't me!
and arresting them for inpersonating a babbler.
story chapter is up, a short one tonight
i would be just like the little animal in the book, "Are you my mama?"
ahhh, and the driver would have called the nice policeman to help you back to the hospital...lol
hi LeslieAnn -- nut, Mamabear, anyone else
hi stid!
oh boy! something to read at work tomorrow! thanks Stid!
me
stidleramarous
yes and tell the men with the white coats i was muttering babble!
yw lbd! but I warn you,
leslie, sometimes we must suffer for doing the right thing
hi stid!
warning me? uh oh...
oops -- no warnings, just me blathering on. Decided to drink some wine. It worked to get me to stop coughing, has affected other things too!
well I'm glad you thought of me LeslieAnn!!! Hey what time was it, that might account for the hiccups!
i can just see leslie now - 'please, really, babble is real, just ask dr. god' LOL
I was going to say "I warn you, it's short," when I realized that I had already said that...
LOL helen!!!!!
Hahaha hk!
LOL HK! ahh, should make for a more interesting read then Stid!
stid - you must share, that appears to be good stuff you're drinkin
they're coming to take her away, ha ha, hee hee
that is some PAR-ful wine!
i then i would say, "You know, words like naoi, and etna, and etui...." and they would be like, "Take her away, boys."
LOL fran!
ho ho, to the funny farm, where life is good and the grass is green
funny thing is, it didn't have a date on the bottle, so we opened it up a couple weeks ago for a cooking wine... but it's nicer red wine than we usually get!
ah, other doctor demento fans
with trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket weavers that sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes
grass is green? before or after it's rolled in paper?
we could have the chicago babble convention during visiting hours
i resemble that remark Frannie
Fran -- scary movies was your idea, wasn't it?
that's sweet of you, hk
she's thoughtful that way
:)
yes stid, why?
i think i'd be careful if you all go to the farm together...they might not let you leave
just seems like a strange thing for someone as sweet as you... I don't actually watch much horror films. Young Dr. Frankenstein and Rocky Horror are about as scary as I get
hey stid, your icon reminded me, i had an ex-boyfriend that looked just like an artist's rendering of cro-magnon man. he was so upset when i pointed it out.
I saw Scream does that count? Or was that Scary Movie? I don't remember
hmm, i'm probably not as sweet as you think. ;-)
i scream you scream we all scream for ice cream
ROFL Fran! I think there's one of those in every closet!
he cleaned up pretty nice, but when he didn't shave he was absolutely caveman-like.
*checks closet for cro-magnon man*
i think i went to school with him Frannie!
I dated a few that were handsome by human standards, but definitely sub-human in personality...
lol lbd!
handsome by human standards... never thought about it that way...
maybe, are you from colorado?
brb
I just relayed our conversation to Tom, who is reading his paper, it's sort of like a personal cave for him... LOL
ren - your favorite is in the grid - Cheato!!!!
ren? where?
caves are good - everyone needs a good cave
she was here a bit ago, stid
I think the wine just put me in my "happy place" LOL I don't usually drink it, but I was coughing so much!
Frannie, as a matter of fact I grew up in Colorado
*twilight zone music swells in background*
oh thanks stid...now i'm coughing, but i can't drink wine cuz of the sulphites
i'll have to settle for a baileys
rum might work, too -- my mother used to give me honey and whiskey when I was kid and had a cough. Worked like a charm
tell the sulphites to get their own wine!
LOL mama
*grin* Mamabear defending her ubs!
*cubs?
you bet mama! my mom used to slip us micky finns when we were little...medicinal purposes of course
nope, I'm a White Sox fan
of course!
okay, girls, since no one seems to need clues, and I would be useless for that at this point, I am going to call it a night and head out. See everyone tomorrow!
I keep looking at the grid, but haven't entered nary a word
welp, i need to go get ready for tomorrow...later taters. see you all
good night, stid and lb
stid's gonna get lucky
sweet dreams all!
laws have just ruined child-rearing don't you think? :-)
night stid!
yeah they don't like it when you hit em or hurt their precious self image by yelling - I guess you're supposed to send them a text message telling them to behave now!
hee
funny how the log goes 60 miles an hour for a while and then comes to a screeching halt. like it caught a train or somethin
g
baby climbed up in my lap, hard to chat with her in front of the keyboard
now we're dancing
hi baby!
Gigi says hi
I wish my name wasn't in capital letters. it's so overBEARing
hi Gigi
you could get dr_g to change it
I could?
yeah, i remember someone else did
i think so, i think you have to email him
OK - he'll probably think it's silly, but hey, what ISN'T silly in Babbleonia?
that way you don't lose your stats
stats shmats
I will do that....brb
one blasted four left...
go LA go!
ohhhh where are you hiding, four?
oooh... sexy icon fran. lol
hi evertyne

en 6/36 == we're number 1 we're number said repeatedly is a *****
I was changing my icon, GW
see you all later - bye :)
thank you, I've got it :)
bye hk
it's a beach in Maine, that I can't think of the name of for the life of me right now...... near Portland,
Night, HK
A heck of a lot better today than last week -- the antibiotics the doc gave me on Thurs have really done a great job of making me healthy again
Old Orchard Beach!!!!!
hi/bye helen
nitey nite helen!
ok... now going back to Aussie
I;ve never made it to maine, but I'd lov to go
good, woulf... being sick just plain sucks!
especially since I am never sick solo -- it seems that if I get something Kirsten comes down with something as well
damn, my Aussie pic must be at work on that computer!
Thankfully I don't sick that often -- which means that when I do, I always feel that it is worse than it really is
Maine was very pretty - I love the ocean - got some great pictures there! I have one too from Ormond Beach in Florida that I had enlarged and framed.
Well, we seem to have gotten very quiet... :-)
*tumbleweed rolls through Babbleonia*
*crickets chirp*
*wolves howl*
*clouds blow across the moon*
*wind gently rustles through the trees*
*separated lovers pine for their partners*
*not separated partners look for a room*
*friends share a drink and fond memories*
*and in the midst of it all, mamabear falls off her chair*
lol what have i been missing? lol
life returneth to babbleonia
not much, pappa -- the log just got real quiet
so we were rambling
heh... i heard all sorts of noises eminatibg from babble, while i was in another window... i heard crickets, and wind, and maybe even a woulf. ;)
and the loud thud.... well..... that was me
AAAOoooOOWWwwoooOOWWWWW!
a little late with that one, woulf!
I wasn't going to mention that one, mama... lol
woulf, when i was a kid, I lived in the country, and I used to love listening to the coyotes howl at night
that's what they call it in babbleonia when I lose my internet connection!
I grew up in a bad neighborhood - I just heard sirens
that's where I live now mama...lol
lucky you -- I have been stuck on the east coast my entire life and most of it on Long Island -- no opportunity to hear the real deal
but you live so close to the ocean - *heavy sigh*
nah, not on long island there isn't... but upstate I'm sure there is... and further north...
i adore the east coast
and would you believe I almost never went to the beach?
I just adore a penthouse view..... darlin I love ya, but give me park avenue! tee hee
I don't think I could live somewhere where I couldn't look forward to at least a couple weeks of sub-zero temeratures each year
that's close to being a sin, GW
welcome to Chicago, pappa!!!!
evening all... mama, how did you enjoy Maine, my homestate.
I have to say I am looking forward to the winter temps finally settling in here, pappa -- but sub zero is a bit more than I like to deal with
hehe... I'm further north than that, mama
But I want it colder. lol
ah, you're in wisconsin- you know what ahm sayin!
especially at 6:30 in the AM when I have to drive to work
I loved it gardengirl!!!!
I would love to move to faribanks, if there were any jobs there
Hi gardengirl
I don't know what it is woulf, but the colder the air, the better I feel
Where else did you go besides Old Orchard Beach? Hi Wolf.
I just let my dog out - I think Fairbanks is on my deck
hi girl!
lol
Just there and through Portland. I have a friend that lives there that I went to visit
hey, if it works for you, pappa -- go for it I just know my limits and subzero for more than a day or two is definitely past my limit
Papa!!
can someone clue ci6/21?
yeah, It's a balmy 7 here in madison, mama... gotta be close to that in chicago
sory mr write I didn't do the grid..... :(
I have been working on it while chatthing, mrwrite, but no success yet
feels like it, pappa
Heh, I understand. I've been fighting it all day, mama
Write: CI + cross letter + spanish cheer
I'm about half done, but this one's a real bugger
Ah, thanks, pappa!
yup
I want motel and wince and hence and width and all kinds of words that aren't really there - so I didn't do it on principle
i wannted thud cause that what happens when i fall out of bed
I thudded before off my chair, ren
There a LOT of phantom words in this grid -- like most smaller grids, it is a lot nastier than it first appears
seems naked without an R
i think the r skipped town
it Ran away
I get frustrated, because I always want to enter spanish words...lol
the w stayed behind tho
don't you mean it -an away
i think since mama used it she really kidnapped it
pappa -- same here -- and I usually do hoping that Enable has improved
I think you have a valid point, ren
don't you mean -en? ;)
I've been discove*ed
LOL - if we take away the R's, you would be Gey Woulf!!!! so**y, I couldn't *esist.
yep, pappa -- I am beginning to think they a-e in cahoots
hahahhaha
I'm not in cahoots - I am in chicago
on my last keyboard, the letter E went out... that was really tough t type for a day
cahoots in west of the mississippi I think
well, I am a happy kinda guy
really worked out my mental thesauris
I bet, pappa!
I am frick frackin freezin
i'm a little buggy
I'm a little teapot
i have no heate*
I don't see a w word
I wouldn't enter it anyway, but I don't see one ... just thought I would mention that
witch one are you looking 4?
isn't there only one?

I'm back!

Oh dear! Am I that boring, Mama? LOL.
i'm f*ont!

Wolfie - I'm the one that's supposed to be upside down, being a bat and all that.... why are you upside down?
I saw the cutest little toy yesterday in the paper - it was a small stuffed Spiderman doll and it was called the "itsy bitsy spider man*

Just had an icon change. Refresh to see it.

ic + consonant + not day

ic7 - German personal pronoun + alternate spelling for time after sundown.
Gah, where do some of these words come from. thanks, abe, Jacula
nite Mama, sweet dreams!
sleep well mamabear. yw mrwrite
True meaning of ic7 = a fossilised footprint.
ni** mama
Night, Mama.
does anyone have the ti 6/7 combo?
hello
hi Harp
good morning all from whats is going to be a hot and steamy day in Durban
Hi Ursh
Yep, abe. eating utensil + Freud's idea
thanks mrwrite. i would have never monkeyed that!
(ugh, not the best clue there, but it's late)
abe - ti 6& 7 are moths. Think fork prong + short form of identity for first and then usual letter on the end for the plural.
Hi Harp.
thanks Jacula!
y/w, abe.
Love your icon jacula - will definitely use it often
pu5?
ursh - thanks! It's one of many tee-shirts I have.
pu + short for richard
thanks abe
pu5 relates to human genitalia. After dinner dessert + International Communication.
Oh, you got it anyway, Harp. Well done.
I thought I already knew all the words for genitalia. Babble is so very educational....
Anyone else want one of my cryptic clues, or would you just rather I didn't? LOL.
i like your clues jacula!
ci6?
Speaking of which... my Mum, when she was a child, misheard the word 'pubic' and thought genitalia had 'public' hair. She spent years wondered why it was called that when it wasn't generally on public view.;)
ci6 - a type of dulcimer (musical instrument).
lol
(ci + a t4/4 word)
The t4/4 is enameled or lacquered metalware, if that helps.
t4/4 = t + bullfighter's cry.
Jacula, cna you please clue en 6/21?
Ah! That was my last word entered before the fireworks. Quercus virginiana - The 'Live oak'.
California Live Oak, no less!
thanks Jacula. i kept trying that with another vowel! oaks, moths, we have everything in this grid
Phew! Glad you got it! I was about to go into Ike & Tina Turner clues for it.
Harp - did you get the ci6?
yes thanks jac, had to reboot
dialup
Oh dear, Harp!
Sorry to hear that. Get broadband!
hi all!
hi Fran
hi abe! hi jac! hi harp!
Hi, Fran.
love the icon jac! but i don't believe it for a second...the idiot part.
Fran - It's just one of my many tee-shirts.
But thanks!((X))
The ony trouble with wearing tee-shirts with messages acrosss them, is that you have to remember people are trying to read them and not just checking out the contours of your chesticles!
brb, have to bathe the boy.
See you Fran.
et 6/24, not morals? later Fran
et6/24 & plural 7 - pertaining to a culture, group of religion.
*or religion
Tie-dye and batik is et***.
et**** origins?
ok, i deserve to be smacked with a fish for that one
thanks Jacula. i'm on my last one...to 6/18
he 4/6?
You got it finally, abe? What type of fish would you like to be smacked with? Frozen or fresh?
fireworks! um, how about a fresh tuna!
he 4/6 politician jesse he 4/6s
to6/18 - heavy weight + what a flat is once it's rented.
he4/6 - part of a ship or German MP He**ut Kole.
found it, after I noticed that other h..... (tired here,,,,)
Can't lay my hands on a fresh tuna here right now. Will canned do?
canned is fine. mercury free, please
Harp - you're doing fine!
how many left, Harp?
As mercury free as my tooth fillings are, abe! There you go!
lol. the mercury kind always tastes better anyway!
nothing to zest up tuna salad like a dash of quicksilver. ;)
Seriously, I had an old filling taken out for a repair 3 weeks ago. I was so ill afterwards, plus a metallic taste in my mouth. Then I got this bloody Man 'Flu bug!
fortunately I've never had a filling
that's terrible :( i had fillings but i think they were pulled out accidentally
Incidentally, info for those who haven't caucht it yet... we are on day 8 & 9. It seems to be a 14-day bug at the very least.
Hi everyone
first ni5/14?
Hi Saph.
find your ni*** - what you are good at
harp - 1st ni5/14 is the ni*** you should find to keep yourself apart.
Or the place where yor knowledge is.
thanks jac. what about the ni5/12, the one right after the number?
hi saphyre. jacula- you've been ill for 9 days! so sorry. i had a nine day cold two weeks ago. miserable
sounds awful jac - hope you feel better soon
abe said a word......
Anyone see that Babblerrabbler person, or whatever the name was, earlier? Icon was a horrible bleeding brain with blond hair around it. The user told us, I'm not here to make friends, so be warned! I'm here, on the advice of...., to save what is left of my brain.
ewww
Sociopath, I think the user said he was.
oops@ sorry!
i read that, interesting concept. didn't try to make friends with him/her tho
Saph - Yes. I turned the chatlog off at the time.
