Thnx for yours Melon
Great clue cybernan
yes, good clue, angb but I only have part of it!
good at last. had a hysterectomy dec 14 - elective due to famly history. I'm almost back to normal - taking walks, etc.
These ones are pu 4/8 pi4/7
LOL that was fun
actually i see two words in my icon.
wow, glad to hear you're recuperating-- sounds like a smart thing to do--elective surgey
nan, thanks for the ga clue but I would have spelt it differently!
me to, jilli!
Melon take care - takes a bit to come back. I had one last April after taking minor parts away last December 2005. Knocked me around more than I thought
but one must remember -- this is enable!
well, it's a lot harder to get ovarian cancer if i don't have ovaries - hehe - btw, i can fnally laugh without hurting myself!
tx Ang - i do pace myself - no cartwheels yet ;)
you're on the road to recovery, then, melon!
Yep - that's what they told me as well ... The first they decided didn't go far enough LOL
good you can laugh after abdominal surgery--gets tummy back in shape
tx cybernan - i have felt dramatically better in the last two days - doc sez i can take tub baths again - what am i doing here?
nan -- enable wouldn't allow ramen in yesterday's grid but morewords did
request from babble store--special babble-enabled hot tub :)
liba - i went out for sushi yesterday (tuesday was my 1st day out of jammies) - was able to pull a pair of jeans on! this is a big deal bc i was so bloated for awhile - sorry guys or anyone squeamish!
I think I found your second word for you icon melon -
melon, that is a milestone!
I think a good many of us have been there, melon, and can empathize
got the other ta7 - i know it as a french word from all those Butterick patterns
yep - jeans and a mink - my late mom's {sigh}
My prob melon was the undies crossing the wound ... had to go to granny's knickers! LOL
nice to hear that bilingualism is good for something!
If I had an icon I'd put up a picture of my kitchen for du4
haha crone - i would put my daughter bedroom
I think that might be melon's second clue for icon - what you do in it
lol, ty for du, melon!
only 109 left! *faint* night all
I could probably do the same melon - but I'm not allowed in there
Gee lbd good going. night
it's more of a toxic du5 than the kitchen
see now i thought you talikng about du 4/6 which my kitchen has
you're better off not knowing - when i was a teen "did you clean your room" was a code amongst us kids that meant "did you close your door" - my dad was a neat freak & did not understand messiness as a phase (lifelong in my case)
you know what they say: one decent lightning strike and we could create life
So did I but I found the other anyway
Oh I love these du words
du 8
I sue to push everyhitng under the bed, then I'd have to run and jump on it because there might abe something under there and I couldn't tell because I had so many things under there.
A bit tongue ties dthere
nan, you're amazing
quitting @ 85 - nly 5 7s + the 8 - igoing to fix a cup of herbal tea, put on some candle, and have a nice fragrant bath.

I don't suppose you're going to tell us the name of your flower, fran -- ?

Has everybody found my icon clue?
can't tell what it is . . . :-(
yes i have jilli, it's m4 right? the thing that goes in a trumpet?
ooohhh, OK, already have that :-)
right, fran -- a "bubble" one
I just hoped it would be a bit mystifying and I guess it was for une ;)
i don't know how i know what it is, i just did.
Hello everyone - TGIF
i have no idea what that is - odd looking wine cork?
hehe
hi lynxxx!
I happen to be a trumpet player, but I hadn't found those words yet, so thanks! :)
hi frog!
fran - i was looking for an icon - same thing for me about the skaters :(
darnit, frog!
Howdy everyone!
good one, hk!
tx jili
hi frog
thanks for your clue hk, i always miss that one.
Hi Frog
hello lynxxx
i think i found a better word if i can find the right icon. brb
i should always wait a little longer - just found mu6/24 - that could have been fun
lynxxx - I heard on the news that firefighters from Vancouver Island are heading your way to help battle the blazes -- from Victoria BC to Victoria state, OZ!
ok, changed my icon clue.
fran, the ag was a lot prettier!
mu7
lol fran - i thought you may have gone with the le4.4
thanks for pointing me that way hk!
eewww !
i agree with jili
thanks for pointing me that way hk!
eewww !
i agree with jili
i agree with jili
i agree with jili
i agree with jili
eewww ! Fran
i know jilli, but i'm fascinated by these beetles.
the site always hiccups at 2:00 am, must be some maintenance that goes on at that time.
well, got the mu6 but not the 7
still looking for the mu6
fran - good to know that - i went to my e-mail site to make sure it wasn't my computer
(hiccup!) Jilli - as i say to AngB - thankyou so much ! has Aust ever sent firefighters over to you. I know they went to the US a while ago when they were having fires. what a wonderful community they are - those firefighters
jilli - think horse
is it especially quiet ?
thanks joey -- I even had each half, sort of!
TY Joey
how about a clue for the mu6?
yvw
fran - teenage turtles
Volley, Its the quiet time before the UK gang wakes up and comes on
fran, think teenage turtles
or as my girlfriends son used to call the - the muninjaurts
duh, that's what i thought at first, but didn't try it!!
how cute.
it WAS cute - he's 21 now & 6'4 ! i tease him about that & how he used to play wicked air guitar to 'bbbbbad to the bbbbbone'
hk, i'm sure he just looooves you for bringing that up. ;-)
99 to go
going to bed now, good nite everyone :)
woo hoo hk!
night helen, sleep tight!

yay! found the 8
just the first letter Fran ? pls. Can you also tell me how many letters in the j other than the dance. TY
morning all
du8 lynxxx
the other j is ji4
is the du rubbish related? and TY for both of those
yes lynxxx
and yw
du could be the most unwanted venter too
hey babrab!
Hello, all
LOL BabbleR - I thought that - now if I can just figure out the end....
actually doesn't that du mean the most chubby person (OK - overweight) ? or is it too hot here and Im not thinking straight
i don't think they would have to be the most overweight, merely severely unkempt.
thanks for the clue by the way....
lynxxx, def says most short and squat
ty fran for the du8
yw mva
thats what I thought - that word is used much anymore
did you all hear about the guy who saved the young man in the subway?
20-year old man had a seizure and fell onto the tracks. this guy jumps down, throws himself over him to keep him from flailing and the train that was coming just cleared them.
I did on the radio coming home - quite amazing what people can do under extreme circumstances
his two little girls were on the platform with him and watched while the train passed, not knowing if they were going to make it. just amazing!
was that the man who didn't want his children seeing a man killed by a train? if so how brave!!
was lucky he missed the third rail.... or that the seizuring guy didn't flail onto it.... would have been mildly cripsy critters....
so many things could have gone wrong, they said the clearance under the train is like 21 inches, they were at about 20.5 inches!
he's on letterman (or was) tonight.
just seen a clip of him on letterman
any clues for il6 please
more poorly?
hi oggy
hi fran
i have most sick
thanks fran and mva got it

I'll say goodbye folks - had a long hard week, dead tired and I think I'll enjoy this more in the morning (Saturday). Bye
night lynxxx! see you later.
bye lynxxx, sleep well
got to go to, lots to do, bbl
bye mva!
if there's anyone out there, i'm taking a break, see you all later!
Good morning/evening to anyone else.
HI Haz
Hi Haz
So we are not alone!
stile
Just come back from playing on another site ... get a few in before I go to bed and read
And how are you finding the grid?
I have really enjoyed it - lovely sounding words. Although having probs with top left hand corned at present.
lots of 3 letter plurals so far been doing it for 20 mintues or so
eats
Hey Kazzer hope that you are putting those words in to the word box too
I'm still at the jumping around stage putting in words wherever they jump out at me.
yes - I have finger troubles most of the time
No problem Kazzer - just would hate you to get to the end and not have all those words ... think that's where I lose mine often - or leaving the cursor off the right spot when I am moving the page around. Must get a bigger monitor LOL
its very easy to forget that you were talking to folks when you sea a word and forget to click back to the word box - how are you doing?
109 to go - so half way - I try to get half of all the boxes first. Then ... well see how much time I have
What about you?
Sounds a bit like me - tend to get about have and then wonder off for a break
morning, hows the grid today
Hi ren - not too bad - the first half is fun
Good morning ren - not long started but okay so far.
Not too sure about second half - just getting into that bit
Hi Angb & Haz - Better get started then before little man requires my attention
Oh gump isn't a word
nugs was not found in the dictionary. take that stoners
99 to go - can't see any more words tonite. So will say goodnite. Happy babbling
Goodnight Angb. Sleep well.
Night AngB
morning all :)
Good morning miametro.
Hi Mia
tups
how is it today?
So far okay, but I think it may get sticky....
Not too bad - lots of 3 letter plurals
gosh. there ARE rather a lot of 4 letter words aren't there?
Now that you mention it.... I've only just looked at the word stats.
hi all!
Hello Fran - you're back!
yes, 70 left, i wanted to whittle it down a bit more before going to the list in the morning.
I think I'll be diving for the list long before 70. I'll keep looking for a while....
Hiya Fran
hi kazzer
meaningless protest that upse** is not accepted, it something we always do in retail.
I'm surprised that gilet isn't accepted - it's used commonly here
what does it mean haz?
It's a type of waistcoat - not the fitted kind, more like a sleeveless jacket, if that makes sense.
Also leat is not in the dictionary - its used here to describe a man made small stream
like a tunic almost?
A gilet would normally have a zipper or buttons down the front - it can be padded, almost like an anorak.
i think i can picture it.
If you can think of pictures of hunting/shooting/fishing types, then that is the idea. But they're also used as fashion items, not in the anorak mode.
But enable doesn't believe in them!
sounds like something you might find at Burberry's i'm thinking.
morning all
hi sprite! i haven't seen you for ages!
Yes - but the term covers lots of different types. Good morning, sprite.
Hey Fran *hug* Been around at odd hours, we have missed each other I think.
we must have.
morning all
hi kate :)
Good morning kth.
I agree, gilet should be valid.
hi kate!
sounds like it should be a word.
It joins a long list of wannabes.
Or should that be oughtabes?
oughtabes sounds good. :-)
it IS a word. At least in dutch, french and some, I think.
lol
oughtabes! Brilliant word :)
phantom: luau
ahhhh that would have been nice. Has it ever been in a grid, that you remember?
this is a really terrible grid for phantoms
it's been a while sprite. definitely not in the last month.
it sure is marpocky
phantoms and oughtabes. True marpocky
"jumps" keeps staring at me
and i want to close the loop on "tallest"
They are very close to other words, though.
yep
mutilate
morning everyone!
hi conx!
I thought I'd get some of the smaller tiles out the way, but I can't see a single word from the i
Good morning Con.
mutilate as alternative for good morning, ConX? :) Morning!
morning conx
il6 - most unwell
i have a 6 from the i, that's all
indeed sprite! hello haz, fran, kth and all!
Morning all........
il6 and mutilate describes my morning...
ty haz
it generally shows up in a rap music context
hi caitlyn
same here pocky and kate.
hi caitlyn
hiya caitlyn
conx, not having a good day so far?
well.... i'm ok.... My daughter;s on the operating table as I type.... a bit nerve wrecking really
il4/4 and il5/10 as well as the 6
oh how awful conx, I hope she's ok
Oh Con nothing too bad I hope
conx, hope she gets through okay.
More than a bit, I reckon, ConX. Hope she will be out of there and well very soon.
Yoink - haven't seen you for ages!
they're pulling her innerds out - literally. sewing them back together and putting them all back in again.
Hi Haz, mostly just lurk these days
that is certainly nerve wrecking.
you're in the right place conx, we'll try to keep your mind busy
I hope all goes well for her (and you )
Thanks for the il words, anyway, Yoink.
thanks yoink!
In september they took her whole colon out and she;s had a stoma (bag thing). this operation is to remove the stoma, let the small intestine get used to doing all the work and hope all is well. (which will take two years or so...) thanks for your care and support!
hi Yoink
can you stop my tummy churning kth? ;)
No probs, worked my way up to 150 so far without the list, nice grid. Hi Sprite
I wish i could conx but i'm not that good lol
Nope, we can't, ConX. Hugs for you and her, we'll be thinking of you both.
Con - I hope all goes well, Isn't it amazing what can be done? And that tummy churning will be stopped by nothing!
some breakfast may help.... and a bath....
how long will she be in theatre for conx
yeah, medical world is brilliant really.
BEst Wishes to you Both Conx
that will help, but being a mother means you'll always have that tummy churning.
Thats aways my cure Con a nice long soak in the bath always helps
Anything to keep your mind busy, ConX :) Take care of yourself, or try to anyway.
this operation is just over an hour. The first operation was 4 hours!
So actually this is peanuts... :§
lol - yeah sure.
And still the tummy churns....
oh that's not too bad then, at least you know it will all be over soon and then you'll know she's ok
lol! indeed it does haz!
Has anyone used my icon clue?LOL
yeah. We're waiting for the surgeon to phone to tell us that everything went better than well and she's resting and recovering from the aneashtitlkjaltoit - stuff to make you sleep
Brillian - thanks caitlyn!
Its never good when its your baby thats being operated on - no matter what age they are
thanks caitlyn!
caitlyn great icon, une had it earlier too.
brb have a bottom to change
Him and his friends are one of only 3 7s I have Caitlyn, not having much luck spotting them so far
so right kazzer. she was 23 in december and over the past few months she's been more my little girtl than ever before
Oh I didnt know Fran I will change it for this afternoons session!!
oooooo phone!!!
I have 4 of the sevens, so am not much further on, Yoink.
i found the 8 all by myself today!
I think I am being stupid - what icon clue
only 6 of the 7s here.
Well done Fran!!
kazzer, you might need to refresh your browser.
This grid badly needs an R, I can see loads of words if only there was one
Kazzer - click on the icon. Fridays are always the day when people give a clue to a word in the grid with their icon.
are always the days when....
i found the il4 but i've tried every combo for the il5 and still nothing
Just stick a consonant on the end of the 4
Thanx got that one
marpocky, you have to repeat the consonant.
marpocky - add a consonant to make the word end like a snake like fish (almost)
oh wow, there it is. thanks you 3
And if you lose the i at the front, you get an l4 word
i just found this game 2 days ago and i'm already addicted
Clue for il 4
It has that effect.
il4/4 - add two vowels
Thanx again
You're welcome.
okay, 56 left and hopelessly stalled, going to try again in the morning.
good night babblers!
night fran
Night Fran
Night Fran
BBL - off to do chores, and not doing very well so see you later
Bye ren
night fran Bye Ren
Bye Fran - sleep well.
bye ren
bye ren and Fran
I've gotten to the all too familiar stage of making up words now
ta ta ren
Those words, Yoink, go in the mightjustbe column.
bye Fran, ren, Good morning everyone else.
Good morning pida.
Morning pida
hi pida
Hi Pida. Haz, I can almost hear Babble sigh as it tells me the word is not in the dictionary, and feel like it wants to add "and you knew it wouldn't be so why did you bother?"
Morning Haz, caitlyn, et all, kthdsn....looks like I might rather go back to bed, then start to tackle the grid....Hi Yoink
Good Morning Pida - I'm glad i'm not the only one that makes words up
lol yoink I know that feeling
I know, Yoink, but when you've seen the words that ARE accepted, it's understandable that you try everything.
Better go abd move the dust around bbl
Bye caitlyn
Bye, caitlyn.
anyone have the other E from the middle row, I have consumes
eg4/6
it's a strange word. eg4/6
ty yoink
shortened form of ae5/14
apparently
Put an a in front of it for the shiled of Zeus, as below
Oh, marpocky's gone pro. The addiction really kicked in early!
:D
i figured if i was going to do it, may as well do it early
Good for you - no point in delaying the inevitable.
Welcome marpocky, It
thanks
It's the cheapest addiction on the market, and the most time consuming also
So, Yoink, we were talking about sevens. Have you anything different from ag7/36, la7/28, pi7/40, ta7/28? I haven't gone to the list yet, wanted to get a few more.
did I miss the last i clue, I have a 4 and a 6
Add a consonant to the il4, kth
there's a mu7/44
thanks haz
I go a-looking marpocky, thanks.
I have another ta7/28
ha gi4/6 one of my favourite words
Thanks, Yoink.
Got the mu7, thanks.
So enable accepts french sizes, but not french waistcoats..... Thanks for the ta7, Yoink.
so this list thing, how does it work? i'm not ready to resort to it yet but i'm curious about it
The list may just save your sanity some days, marpocky. Two babblers publish lists each day of the words giving first two letters and points values. You can access lickety's list from under Friends of Babble (Lickety's babble clues) or Brandyjack's list through Babblers Anonymous. For lots of info, read Angelsong's Babble Page, again under Friends of Babble at the left bottom of the page.
ah. i'll have to check it out when i get down in the "few words left" category perhaps
Not seeing the mu7
It can vary from day to day, depending on what the grid is like. Some players like to do it without the list, but they seek help by asking for clues. I like to use the list when I'm ready, and also use online dictionaries.
Think of a horse called Sally, Yoink.
Thanks, Haz
You're welcome!
i better go do some laundry, be back soon
Bye kth.
Later kth
See ya later kth
ga7...pl ship kitchens
Blessings upon you chiley.
ty chiley
clue for la 7 please
there's two ta 7's. Both words use the same letters
tailles
la7 - plural branch of the church for non-clergy
that's one of them kazzer!
yep, that's one of them Kazzer ;)
sorry about that and thanks for the clue
You're welcome - I should take a break and come back to this presently. See you later!
I've just been phoned by the hospital!
See ya later
Bye Haz
bye haz
how did it go con?
Good News?
All went fine! :D She's out and awake and back in her room - already!!! (she was never a good sleeper!) We've just spoken to her. She sounds a bit groggy, but she's fine.
great!
I am so pleased for you all - I hope that she recovers well and this will be it
Yep - recovery time now and a couple of years for the small intestine to learn its new function.
oh you must be so relieved conx, I'm so glad she's ok
The wonders of medicine. :)
Now for my BATH! :) and then a visit. Thanks all for your being there! My tummy's stopped churning and now I'm all excited!
BBL and babble on my friends! BYEEEE...
Bye ConX, enjoy

Hi ch. I see you had my pair from yesterday.
Hi Nonnie

wurdy - a bit confused. Profile says your icon is mollie but I see four guys!
Yoink - do you have or want the 8?
wurdy, I'm perturbed by that E too, I only have 5 from it
Good morning Babblers. The grid has more words than I expected from first glance.
Got it thanks, Haz
hi scrabbler
sorry frances....mollie is my dog. El Divo is my icon. I am presently in love with their music
That's good, Yoink.
hi scrabbler

TY Yoink--I haven't seen you here before. Your profile shows that you are going to be a paediatric nurse--great! I am a paediatrician. How is your training going?
Hi Mom
Hi Kate, so nice to see you again. I am glad things are going a lot better for you.
Hi mom

Bye Kate
Thank you Haz
el plus the vowel that sounds like a personal pronoun, then an insect that sounds like a female relative?
again, thanks Haz
You're welcome. Still looking for another 5 seven letter words......
What does the 8 start with?
du8/60, Scrabbler
I still need 12 7's, but I am just getting familiar with the grid.
builds from du 4/8
thankx got it this time
That's good, Kazzer.
Hmm, it wasn't the compound word that I expected--still looking
scrabbler - use ending meaning "the most"
It's superlative rather than compound, if that's any help. And it's not flattering either!
TY--I thought it was going to be du4,8 + si4,4
Thanks Katydid and Haz
yw
ah, ty katydid and Haz
gotta get ready for work now. c-ya all this evening.
ok that's enough for now, back to the grid :D
You're welcome.
Bye Katydid
me too, bye all
you are quick, Kate
Well, if you work in the trash business and get paid by weight, being the du 8 is a good thing
Bye Katydid
he had the house in such a ridiculous state that I can't face doing it, so I'm doing 5 minute bursts every half hour and it's working miracles
Bye Nonnie
bye kate and Nonnie
Good technique, Kate--little bits at a time.
I've got 1/3 of the house looking acceptable and I don't really feel like I've done anything much
hey bab-rab
back fot the last er.... lot :)
Howdy, hodog
Hi Sprite
Hi BabbleRabble
The du5,22 reminds me of our "cafeteria lady" from grade school--a mean, cranky woman that yelled all of the time. LOL
Hi Sprite and BR
Good day everyone
hi BabbleRabble
hi babble
du5/22 reminds me of my husband's shirts sometimes.....
Her name was Mrs Du5,22! So you can imagine how we laughed at her.
Hello BabbleRabble, by the way.
du 5 reminds me of the coach of the Colts
Poor woman!
Oh, yes, Tony Du5, 22
Hi all, was wakened so am just up briefly
hi flosey
hi flosey
Hi Flosey
Hi Kate, good to see you

Hi Buttonman

cya mom
I am having trouble with the ge 5/18...anyone got it?

ok Bye Mom, have a good day
hi Mom
hi button.bye mom
hi sprite
hi hodag
clue for the ge 5/18 please
Hi everyone. Button-think about a spiffy outfit
4 na's and 2 nu's
hi EVA
and plural for 6
ge5/18 - the cry from mothers to children everywhere in the morning
hi sprite and eva
lol Haz
thanks babble, any long ones in there, I have 4s and 5s so far
Funny clue, Hazel!
phantom_ muppets
I hope it works!
one of the na's is a babblet
morning HAZ
Good morning, Buttonman - are you well?
Hi 6a.. You're playing early.
darn, etui is a phantom today
TY sprite--2 N's to go.
thanks Haz...eva, women think of clothes, men more practical...
Men more practical????!!! Give me a break!
time to start the day............byeeeeeeee
not the men I know!
nu 7 - pecans and cashews and chutzpah
hi eva - or you are playing late - it isn' t 4 am
Knew that would get a rise this early
pugn
oops - i knew it wasn't a word anyway
I played a few hours ago, then tried to go back to sleep which was useless this morning, so I'm back.
thanks babble
another phanotm-nutella
Eva was it too hot where you're at in Vermont? I'm in Massachusetts and we had to have the fan on last night and the windows open!
must be invisable
Babble - thanks for the nu7
i wish it was warm here, it's miserable and grey and keeps drizzling
it's not quite that bad here, ch...in the 30's at night, but will be in the 50's today. UGHHH
na 5/10 - plural masculine name
I am being stupid about that nu7. Mine is only 4, lol.
We're supposed to get up to 61 today. Last night it got down to the high 30's but our apartment is right over the furnace room, and is always a bit warmer than the others
nu7 - add bitterness to the food
it's 2 separate words joined together sprite-the pecanpart is the first and the chutzpah is the second
thanks haz and eva :)
I thought it would mean she who brings the nu4 around, lol.
rude
A swelling produced on a tree by a parasitic wasp is the definition. You live and learn.
I am never rude :) The peanuts and cashews and such, of course.
what hodag?
There hardly passes a babble day without me learning something new :)
have I mentionned before how much I hate vowels!
You might have said it once or twice or....
I'm with you on that eva
more even than re's
but not as much as Ks
Shalom everyone -- was here early in my morning and have returned.
I sort of like k's actually
shalom arb
Shalom arb -- join the fun :)
shalom ARB
81 left - finding more tricky today - didnt get the nu 7 clue at all - be back after lunch
hi arb
what's going on?
I'm worred about the an5/14. I thought enable might not accept it....
I am immensely pleased to recall at appopriate times that words in my wordlist are much easiler to find.
thanks for that Haz!
You're welcome, Eva.
any clues for the du8?
Nice clue, Haz
du8 - a superlative word, meaning the most short and squat.
superlative of the du 4/8
Thanks ARB
what is chutzpah
He/she who gets rid of girl/boyfriends the most is the du8.
can't believe I missed that!
or the most prolific venter
chutzpah is nerve. Like have a lot of nerve.
hi everybody
thanks Eva
hi anastasia
Flosey, how is Miss Hattie these days? I haven't seen her here in quite some time
Can't believe I missed that. Was trying to extend the other du4/8
you mean Hettie? I was just asking Jill but unfortunately my question must have been lost in the chatbox, didn't get an answer
Beleive me, you DON'T want to have any more du4/8 than necessary.
Chutzpah is when the guy who killed his mother and father asks the judge for acquittal because he's an orphan
LOL!
LOL ARB
Yes, my typo fingers get in the way -- I meant to write Miss Hettie.
I'll see Jilli on Monday, will ask her then
That's the old Yiddish definition of the Yiddish word.
makes it perfectly clear, ARB
and now I have the word!!
have to dash -- bbl
how long is my last na, I have a 4 and two 5s
thanks all - ARB, your definition got it for me
If I were the judge that sort of insolence would have a bearing on the punishment
If I were the judge that sort of insolence would have a bearing on the punishment
I need another na5, also--I have the nickname for Mr Hawthorne
Probably did
anybody got clues?
one na5 is related to birth
That's it, Kate.. TY...then I gave a clue for your other na5
the other 5/10 I clued as a plural masculine name
must get back to bed, pill is kicking in - otherwise hubby will wake up and find me asleep over this computer!
Must run---I'll be back tonight. Have a great day/night folks!
good afternoon everybody:)
I have that one, I have a 4 and 2 5s, what did I miss
Hi Jean
yeah, one of those plurals that don't have a valid singular. I always miss them.
bye flosey, hi jeab
Still cant get nu 7
the babblet na4, kate? Greek temple, if I recall correctly.
bye flosey:)
na 4 --- add vowels and na 4/4 --- a broken down horse or what you complains
nu7 - three letters of what squirrels eat, the last four letters sound the same as Asterix the comic book character, meaning either bitterness or cheek
ah ty got it, better go get some lunch
Kazzer - the other el6/21 and plural el7 - el, a vowel, then consumed food.
Thanx never heard that word before - got all the els now thanx
You're welcome.
any more hints?
anastasia - there are loads of four letter words in the grid, start with those. Then you can scroll back through the chat log for more detailed clues on other words.
stuck on the na with vowels. i know i know it, but i've completely forgotten and my brain feels fried!
na then head in a north easterly direction for the first vowel
rhymes with a very young man, miametro
Any clues on the ai 6/24 and 7/36?
ai6/24 - resembles the structure of the young porcine featured in the grid, then plural
didn't even see that letter! gosh. talk about wood for the trees.
bye every body
bye anastasia
Bye anastasia.
ai: a metal tag or sheath at the end of a lace used for tying, as of a shoelace. Ends in other word for to rent.
Taking a break - bye all!
ty Haz & Sprite
how about the final U, I have 1um, 2un, 1up, 1us
bye Haz
bye Haz:)
cya haz
I have one ut
ut 5/12 --- u + scabble t***
thanks :)
thank you for the rest :) The ut was my only one.
can someone clue the un's ?
they are both un4 un + 2 vowels
bablets, not un- in the regular meaning.
that should have read babblet
*babblets (ok, I give up)
thanks guys :)
lol sprite
having a string of senior moments, I believe
I am quite senior and have moments to spare?
lol - don't know about that, BabbleRabble.
jitan
argh.... so sorry. I rest my case :)
At least type in a word that's for real!
Yes, ARB, that's why I am sooo sorry :)
hello fellow babblers
hi Annie
lits
hi annie :)
good one, Annie!
hi annie
Good day, Anniebrook
sorry, another senior moment here
but yours is valid :) You made ARB happy.
just getting started, glad to make anyone happy especially a babbler
I laugh/weep at all of us when we key in the chat log for the chat and then continue with the next word -- we all do it.
why isn't mung a word, I thought it was a type of bean
can i have a clue for any of the ag words? i cant find a single one
One is a gem stone, with a plural.
I have one that I think is a stone
a type of polished stone and plural, rag.
as kth just said :)
thansk
the other combo is the same word with a consonant inserted.
..and sprite
the babble choir sings in unison
:)
you've lost me on the 'same with a consonant inserted.' - i can't find any that would fit!
right after the g, mia, single hump
it is ag + BabbleRabble's plural boy's name
and this one does have a singular :)
ah, thanks guys :)
was reading from the wrong a, hehe.
are all the top corner Es el?
yes
got to run bbl happy babbling everyone:)
bye jean
bye jean
cya jean
La5/12 phillipine mahogany. Looks hawaiian to me :)
ok I'm stuck on this E, I have 2 5s, 4 6s, and a 7
can someone give me the stats for the y's?
ya4/8, ya5/18 and yi4/7
thanks :)
I have 5x6, kate.
totally unclear, that post. I mean 5 words of 6 letters.
how many of them are plurals sprite, i have 2 plurals and 2 non-plurals
Good Morning All,may I have a clue for the 8 please
I have a combo of 2, a combo of 3, a combo of 3 and a combo of 3.
4 -- el 7's
Peri, do you have the first letter?
5 -- el 6/s
2 --- el5'e
and an ea 4/4
for sevens I have ag/36, ai/36, el/36 and pi/40. May I have clues for the othes please
No ARB
They go like this: 1st combo: 5-6 2nd combo: 7-6-7 3rd combo: 5-6-7 last combo: 6-6-7
well I can't see them so I'm going to take a short break and try again with fresh eyes lol
The 8 is du 8/60 -- the most fat and ugly and terrible dresser.
du8/60 most short and stout
thanks ARB
and Frances
such and unkind word
You're welcome peri
true, Babble
so sprite, when you say combos (and forgive me for sounding so thick), you mean the 6-6-7 are pretty much the same word?
just started but only have one el6 :(
Have you got my icon clue. Click it to see in action.
that's correct, miametro. Like singular and plural, or verb forms + person doing it, combos like that.
Lol Frances!
Frances, I love your icon
hrm. would help if i knew what these words meant, lol.
I thought it cute
Terrific Frances -- do you do that every day too?
In an ideal world ARB. I'd never get off the floor!!!
I know have that lady do it for me :)
I was going to take my hat off to you!
She does the si6/24 while I take my si6/18. We share the load.
I do it in other ways - like walking the dog for at least four hours. Well, I walk and he runs.
the last combo el, i'm missing either the first or second six. can you help? i have the one that turns into a plural.
LOL sprite, I didn't have the si6 thanks
Sprite - you just clued me 3 words -- thank you
for the 7s, peri, there is a series connected to Frances's si7. Also se, le and ge.
thanks sprite
I only have an si6 from Frances' icon
mine is the opposite
Any help on the la 6/27 and the la 7/28 ?
La6/27 is blue la....
the 7 is not the plural. Looks like plural to french milk.
but it means bodies of religious worshipers, as distinguished from the clergy.
la 7 -- la + new york london paris are ci****
you say blue la and i read blue lagoon, lol. but it can't be that, obv, so i'm stumped as to what you mean.
miametro, I mean that. Other spelling though, with spanish or italian last letter.
la**** seca - race car track
mia, similar word to the one who stated
try another language -- got it Sprite.
peri si6/18 lunchtime sleep
la**** Beach
hae that Frances, thanks
ahhhhh
ta!
yw :)
Frances, but that is a 6 and I can't fine the 7:(
peri, I put you on the wrong track. They are all 6s. Forget my 'clue'.
ah ha, trying to confuse me sprite :)
hi Une
hey, annie!
gits
grin - not on purpose though :) I am NOT having my day, lol.
sorry!!!!
Few of those in this world Annie!
It's so sweet of you to make me believe I am not the only one with senior moments, Anniebrook :)
Be nice, Annie. Hi all
wb Yoink
Hi Yoink
hi yoink! yes, this is definitely MY senior day
hey, yoink!
how many today please
231
sprite, your bio says that you are 40 and you are definitely not senior yet
231 chubby
thanks
looks like rain so want to get my exercise in ( walk for 30 minutes) see you later
That is harsh, peri, taking away my only excuse for being so incredibly stupid now and again! May I mention that they should count double? :)
sprite dear if you are using that excuse now what will you do when you are 50 or 60 :-)
sprite, even tho you are a little sprite, thanks for keeping me company in my senior moments
and sprite you are definitely not stupid
I will act as if I don't remember :)
bbl
ok I'm still not getting these damned els, can someone clue one of the 7s for me
kate, el +vowel + consumed
and plural
I've got that one annie lol
oh, that one is a 6
Do you have Le5/14 - 6/24?
el7/36 - someone who writes mournful poems
Like in abbrev. of valid, legally.
Then: E + those, and for another 7, switch last 2 letters of the 7.
ah thanks sprite
yw :)
thanks, sprite
el 7/36 -- in many places, to vote you must r*****er
and a group who thinks they are better than others are EL5. Plural is EL6. The act of being like that is EL7.
ahh, had missed that 7, that's my last E, thanks Sprite
el 6/21 -- add the performance of employees is eval****d annully. Plural for the 7
That same EL6 can be made into another one, sorta rhymes with the end of your arm.
Words are coming at about the rate of one every 15 minutes now, it's like pulling teeth
same here. Not an easy grid.
How many left, Sprite?
17
33 here, more teeth left evidently
Welcome, all my fellow wordsmiths......
hey movieman :)
hello, mm
lo movieman
hi movieman
so, anyone care to clue me re: the 7's & the 8, plz?
du 8
lol movie... all of them?
plz, sprite.....
especially that du8 that arb just mentioned
forget that du8......
They say it is the most ugly, fat and ill dressed one.
15 sevens .... lot to asj
I thought it is someone who gets rid of his/her lovers most.
i think it is more likely someone who is gotten rid of most :(
THere are a lot of 7-clues in the log already, movie.
we're of one mind, dezyon, on this anyway ;)
sprite - i think i've missed most of those 7 clues
The whole day's chat log is only a click away
I think the du 8 is the one who hauls the most gravel
we did not erase them, movieman :)
the little icon above the chat will let you view the entire log movie
but my computer tends to lock up if i try to look at the entire log......
du 8 is the beauty of english, 3 different interpretations for one little plain word
Happy Friday, fellow Babblers!
hi aloy
ai7 is a lot like the metal or plastic tip of a shoelace, though it has that i at the beginning
Hello, Aloyisious
Will this grid cause me a lot of an5.14?
Do you use firefox movieman? I do almost exclusively but I find that the log works best in IE
probably Aloy
great clue aloyisius
TY aloy
i do use firefox, yoink......
No one may do that without your permission
ga7 - lots of women perhaps, or ships kitchens
mu7 a type of car - named sally i should say :D
Just remembered it's clue-icon Friday :)
I have this weak spot for movieman. 7s: Ag36, Ai36, EL36 x 2, EL32 x 2, Ga36 x 3 La28, Mu44, Nu40, Pi40, Ta28 and one missing in action.
ta7 - totals
love it, dezyon... ty for the great clue
Afternoon all.

Dez, just before you clued mu7, I had changed my icon to just that!
And there I was thinking it was a horse!
me too, sprite ;)
lol inge, that too i guess
owwww a pretty one, Inge :)
i forgot its icon clue friday isnt it?
Old horses are na4/6.
dez, are you male? (thinking of the car first ) ;)
I should have included that in the description, Jac!
nope, thought the horse was a little easy
There are 2 ta7/28s Sprite
i do like the song tho
thanks Yoink! *goes hunting*
lol, good clue.
ooh, ty Yoink... found em
clue for the ag7 plz
sprite - If you make clothes, you will find ta6/18 & plural 7 written on the pattern. It's French for the waist/bodice.
also, an anagram to the other
The gem stone Ag5-6 combo with a consonant inserted, movieman.
ag + consonant + dined
Ah, great, thanks Jac!
ag 7 is ag + plural of man's name
ag 7 - relatives on the father's side
y/w, sprite.
thanks, Jacula.
Downed the 7s thanks to your list Sprite, thanks

I want to thank you Hurshy for yesterday's clue about not being able to see. I had to leave and do real work. When I got back to the grid, I found the clue. Your clue was really clever. It was the "eye" thing for the re words. Thanks a lot.
one is a plural of a 6, one rhymes with friends who fight with you, one is that plural but with a vowel as last letter.
got that ga7, thx to morewords.com, but ty anyway sprite........
I am afraid Hurshy is not online atm, Strider.
Thks Sprite. I'll repeat the message when Hurshy is online.
Have you got all your 7 letters now, MM?
yes, at last, ty haz......
Good morning, il6/18 is driving me nuts, any clues please?
Grand, just completed them myself. I'll come back shortly when the house has achieved desired hygiene status.....
I don't have the 6 that those ga7's are building from - any hints, please?
marc - the most sick.......
Marc, do you have the il4/4? Just add a consonant.
ga6/24 - same structure as what gentlemen keep their money in.
Sorry Marc - that was for a 5. Not your 6.
Thanks Sprite got it.
Then add either a vowel for ga7/36 or a plural letter for another ga7/36
Fireworks, finally.
got 'em - thanks, Haz!
Well done sprite - and you're welcome K,E. Off I go....

ag6 = ag + consonant + dined. ag7 is pl.
Bye Sprite, thanks for the help

is it a easy grid or hard I dont know if I want to do it?
I'd say it's medium-hard
cluez for the 1st le6/24 plz....
Easy, and then hard
definitely not easy, shorty
hi shorty, agree with Une
plural of le5/14
there's a le6/24 before that one, une
Swap the last 2 letters mm

oh, thanks, yoink!
ty yoink
break time... be back after I get some stuff done. 45 left, and I think this is a challenging grid, shorty

bye annie!
ji4/10
With persistence and clues from the log I am almost there but not quite
did you get it, TO?
I'm about to cave at 54 to go.
yes, ty!
right on
Afternoon, lets try again
I think I'm about to give in also, Haz
But then, I''m notoriously impatient. I read the back of detective novels just to avoid suspense.
Argh, had missed an incredibly simple ti4/5 somehow
I'm glad someone else does that too, Haz
It helps you keep an eye out for the baddy.
I actually took "20th century murder mystery novels" in university
And your favourite authors?
I really like Umberto Eco but other than that, they really didn't appeal to me much
So did the course put you off the genre?
no...I really have never liked the genre...the Sue Grafton books are good...I prefer historical fiction
the prof was a published author himself and he a great teacher
I assume it was part of an English Lit course?
Raelite - it seems no one in England reads Sue Grafton apart from myself
I took it for my english major...lol scary...and because I was also majoring in classics I had all this background to the books...I found them predicatable
haz ty - i'd forgotten your icon!
Ah - it has inspired you, TO!
I like them as a nice easy bath read
they are and the heroine is so real, she seems very approchable
I am Kinsey
lol...really? nice to meet you!
back :)
Welcome.
:O)
i enjoy anne perry and elizabeth peters
Hi everyone - I finally figured out how to add an icon - checking to see if it worked
I *love* elizabeth peters
does anyone have the ta5/18 please
Well, the last 18 went pretty quick with the list. Done
ta5/18 describes a particular kind of taste
Congratulations Yoink!

You've got prioritising down to a fine art, anyway.

You're welcome,ren.

Ok Enable, it's go time . . .I KNOW that there is such a thing as mung beans and it's not uncommon ..

Ren, I'm confident seeing as it's at Anfield, I'll probably be there too
Lucky you, I would love to go to Anfield. I think it will be a tough game now Henry is back
I go to most of the home games, it's a bit of a drain on the old bank account though

Will do, Haz. Thanks Ren
You will be in the el5/10 when you get them.
haz, that and to make gald, as well as the one who pays tribute, are all i have

Extend the select el5/10 to get a couple more.
el6/18 - plural, el7/28 - being el5/10
The one who pays tribute (el7) can have its ending rearranged to get another el7
ty haz - time for me to go. it's my last day of freedom before work on monday. bbl to finish and ty for the chat and the clues.

Needing loos much more often, but at least no outside of body bag thing. Amazing what a body can adapt to doing - or without having.
now I must go as dinner is ready.
wow con, that's quite an ordeal... but yes... I knew a woman who had a similar procedure... it is amazing the adaptibility of the body

hi ha\
Good morning lynxxx - are you well slept and ready to tackle the grid again?
haz
Not really Haz - brief sleep only as it is too hot to sleep!
Oh dear - the heat is obviously a problem for you at the minute.
Too hot to sleep... 28 farenheit here and 6 new inches of snow at my house - I'll gladly send some to cool things off a bit for you!
yeah, I heard you were having a hot dry simmer down under, lynxxx
A hot dry simmer/summer describes it beautifully!
Simmer is right Smooth!
;)
cad wanna send some of that snow over my way? it's january, and we have had only one snowfall... it melted within 2 days
gonna be 70 in ct tomorrow
You can have some - at my house we've had about 29 inches since 20 December

wisconsin, lynxxx... I's near the center of the country from east to west, and very near the top... we border the two westernmost great lakes.
st6/18 - latin star, often used as woman's name
and just north of illinois... so if you know chicago, just look north
Thks Haz, I was just going to do that. Now one left.
grace el7/32 consciousness of or pride in belonging to a select or favored group
grace - one is the person who writes a poem/lament for the dead. Other other rearranges the last two letters.

thanks smooth pappa
need teh 1st si 5/14 pls
I was doing fine until he turned up, now I feel like crying, but I refuse to because I don't know what I want to cry for
got it
he said he's trying to get a loan to buy my half of the house, he says he thinks he can arrange it so I get the money and he takes on the whole mortgage, does that sound right to anyone?
Kth rather the go through this you might ask him to call before he shows up
el 7/32 amd both first and second and el6/21, the first please
he did call yvo, but it was still a shock
well, kate, I have never owned property or housing, but if you are trying to leave, I don't see how that would be a problem
surely if he bought my half I would be expected to spend that money on my half of the mortgage though?
sorry kthd - that must be awful having to deal with him
EL 7/32... the ethos of feeling superior to others
No, Kth, I don't think so. He is buying you out
yeah, if he buys your half, you have no mortgage... he takes it all
so I get the money and he keeps the entire mortgage, even though it's in both our names?
EL 7/32... EL + The School teache ed*c***** me
if he buys you out with a lump sum the mortage is his problems. the question here is can he get the money, make sure je can before you sign anything. make sure you have cah in hand
yes, pretty sure that's how it works.
well, it wouldn't be in your name if he bought it from you
You sign off the mortgage if buys you out. You no longer owe the debt.
hello
If the mortgage is in both of your names, the lender is not obligated to take your name off and ca n look to your for payment. However, if the payments remain current, the lender may not accelerate the loan requiring immediate payment
By the way, g'd afternoon Babblers
hi lori!
that just seems very odd to me, we payed £50k for the house, so if he borrows £25k to buy my half he owns a 50k house and owes 75k for it?
does anyone have a clue for the last gi4,6 word?
oh thanks babble, so I would still be liable to pay the mortgage if he didn't
No, Kth, pretty sure a new mortgage is drawn up. I guess it actually depends on the current value of the home. It may be as simple as taking your name off the mortgage, but at a price.
KT, he would have to negotiate that with you and a lender. It also depends on if there's equity and so on. It can be very complicated, and you should be evry aware of the conditions. A mortgagor will be......
but kate, if you did go to canada, like you mentioned, I think it would place the onus on him to pay... but I should really shut up, since I have NO experience with this sort of thing. ;)
kate, you should talk to someone in GB about these things. Can you talk to the Canadian consul there?
I'm so confused lol, I will ask when i go to citizens advice on monday
yes, because it is highly unlikely the lender will remove you name. in fact, if you try to get your name off the mortgage, the lender may feel insecure and try to acceerlate the loan
I would be very very wary of simply having my name removed from a mortgage. A lender will not just remove your name, it's not that simple.
good idea, Kate, cause mortgage laws in the USA are different from Canada and from Great Britain
The Citizens advice thing would be good Kate. Each countries laws will be different.

the terms of divorce or agreement do not change the terms of a contract

Exactly Babble.
I know phan, but they don't usually go from sharing debts to one person walking away with cash
I don't know, never had to go through that. Anyway, always seek the advise of an attorney in everthing you do with regard to your divorce
kate you definitely need a lawyer to protect your interests.
the best thing to happen would be for the mortgage to remain current so the lender is not an issue... if James wants to pay you have of any potential equity, that is his decision
half
citizens advice are going to help me with all the legal stuff, and managing my debts until i am able to leave etc
Your debts are both your debts unless a satisfactory arrangement can be made with the lender(s). You are still on the hook. I've seen very UGLY situations arise in this regard.
On a different note, may I have a word total please? (be gentle....)
I'm sure there must be a way out of this somehow, i just have to find out what it is
there still are many issues. if your name remains on the loan and james tries to sell the house or get a better rate, you still will have to sign off
231
lori feel free to ask for as many words as you want
He can't sell if it's in both your names.
Thank ye. (yikes, 231)
I'm done work for the day, so I should finish, unless I have brain freeze...
I was so hoping it would all be simple and I would be able to get out of here and start afresh with nothing to worry about but my new life, I guess it's a lot harder than I thought
It's not impossible, just more complicated.
the basic premise is that any agreement does not prevent the creditor from seeking payment from you--- even if james is ordered or has agreed to be responsible. your remedy is to seek recourse from james is you pay a debt he would now be responsible for.
There is no simple, kate.... you would do well to seek legal advice
For instance, what if down the road james decides he wants visitation or cutody of his child?
Dunno' about overseas, but here, the law is very explicit. Irregardless pof any private mutual agreement between 2 people, the names on the lenders documents are accoutable, and can be pursued legally for late or unpaid debts.
well I'm going to put it out of my mind until monday when i can get some proper advice, I don't need to be stressing about it when there's nothing I can do yet
moreover, as a father, he has an obligation to support his child
Smart girl KT! :-)
Just lean on the Citizens Advice people Kate and don't sign anything util their Legal people have sighted the paperwork - I am assuming their staff includes qualified legal people.
off to buy chicken... If I don't see you later kate, I wish you the best of luck... and find a british expert to help you with htis one... for all of our best intentions, and good advice, it's all coming from American laws.
thanks everyone, I feel a bit better someho
w
Later smooth!
kate, although rather simplistic, knowledge is power. I mention these things as a point of reference for inquiry.
thanks babble, what you said was useful
Be aware of what you sign, that YOU understand it completely, otherwise, kepp 'yer pen in your pocket..... :)
I will lori
:-)
and kate, being strong does not mean you can't release some stress by crying
babblerabble, as it turns out i was just thinking about sloth of the mind, when i noticed your bio!
I don't want to cry on my own, it makes me feel worse, I have people coming to visit this weekend I will cry with them
yes, harpjane, to challenge your mind is a wonderful thing
babble you had a quote about hate in your profile a few days ago that really stuck in my mind, do you know who said it first?
elatism
let me look, kate
“Hating is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.†~ Unknown
why are all the best ones unknown lol

does anyone here have any thoughts on intention manifestion and the law of attraction? I've been reading about it a lot lately and I find it very interesting
HUH?
nu 7/40 please
I guess not then lol
tell us about it, kate!
I know nothing about it, kate
Hi I'm back - just been feeing the other half etc
I do! I think it is a very useful state of mind. Have you read Excuse me Your life is waiting? I just started it, it is all about focusing on what you want and getting out of a state of "need". You attract what you radiate.
feeling??
ok, down to just s and t
nu 7/40 - another word for crazy or what squirrels collect for winter + word for severe or bile (g4)

I haven't kitty, I've read and listened to a lot on steve pavlina's website and a few other sites
No unfortunately feeding
I did try nutella....didn't work
sorry Kazz...maybe the feeling will come later
it's a very interesting concept that the world as we see it is created within our minds and that instead of us existing in a world that was already there, we create the world with our thoughts, so if you think negative thoughts you attract negativity, and if you really believe something good will happen, then it will
I'm just a toal genius today. May I have the word total again please? (I forgot to write it doen...)
231
guess that makes me a black hole
kate, you might find this site of use: http://www.cdm.uwaterloo.ca/index .asp Waterloo is in Ontario and the link is to the best career manual I have come across.
I thought you were a whited sepulchre ..
on the outside, yes, but inside - black hole
thanks babble I'll check it out
Jeez. 231. Thank ye again.

ta very much - i got all the ds now only the t, l and ss to go
haven't seen stid all day
I haven't heard of Steve Pavlina, I'll have to check him out. I've been taught a lot about how everything in the universe is connected. Those thoughts used to be in the world of religion or 'magic' only, but now Quantum Physics is proving it all to be true. You can just reach out and grab what you need, the only real trick is to get rid of your limiting beliefs and your negative thoughts, your "don't wants". Your brain latches onto those thoughts so easily and drags those items to you. That's why some people keep dating the 'wrong' type of person, or seem to have bad luck. They are stuck in that limiting pattern.
Ok, putting the soapbox away now...
Can I have a clue for the 2nd ag6/24 and 7/36?

fis = fish
I don' tknow how you guys even figure out how to get "3 d5's".
I think if you stay away from fish you will be ok. She liked hers up until that happened and now doesn't use it anymore.
Aloyisius, I haven't seen you in a while, since ... the first time I played. Hi!'
tml - do you use Licketys list - link below. most of us use it - at least towards the end!!
hi ya all
No, I don't see a link to that...
Hello, M.P.! I've been here, on and off... mostly off during the holidays. How's the grid going for you? I have 44 left.
sometimes I wish i could stomach seafood, but stories like that make me a little glad I can't. lol
tml, scroll down to the bottom of this page and find, "Friends of Babble." Once there, click on AngelSongs site for soem useful information that will help you.

Of course, I don't mean to be snobby ... Aloyisius reminded me with the clue not to do that. It's a rude idea ... of course, also there's other bad stuff going on ... I'm feeling kind of rude.
not so much "one who is" as it is "the practice of being", isn't it?
thanks Alloy....;)

ch1212 - thanks for that
y/w - I wasn't sure how to clue that word.
struggling builds character
MP & JWest - I think you believe the words are devised or built up to make the grid (like a crossword). I don't think this is the case. The letters doled out each day are random - which is why the number of words ranges from 50 to 450 !!
stopping in to say hi to everyone
'hi everyone'
Hi Helen
lynxxx, there was one day when we had only 31 words, but that's as low as I've ever seen

Yum. Is the recipe at bab anon?
kazzer do you have st + most of a mormon state?
sorry, Kazzer... don't have that one yet
wait that's sp. sorry
kazzer, I think you want the weird combo st 5/14 and st6/24? Add 3rd vowel right after the first vowel in the st5/18 word, then drop the final sometimes vowel letter... then plural
the ingredients are: 1 refrigerated pie crust 1 egg white, lightly beaten 3/4 cup sugar 2 Tbsp cornstarch 1Tbsp Ground Cinnamon 4 cups thinly sliced peeled apples (about 4 medium) 1 tsp sugar
sorry kas dont have
Kazzer let me know if you need a different kind of clue.
st 5/14, like a male deer, with a extra vowel in the middle
i have 2 st 5/14s. one is a part of mu/7 and one is almost the same as that with the 4th letter different. st6/24 is its plural
or, just look at pida's much more concise clue :)
ty, pida.. needed those!
no, she sent it to me directly... I'll post it if you want it. Pretty simple (but my Tom has to make the crust for me, I am horrible at crusts)
yvw
st 5/14 -- englis is a l***guage
I am the worst pie crust maker in the entire universe!!
the other st5/14 is the drink astronaut's drink in space with an s in front

okay ... kazzer, take the word for the place actors perform (A st***). Drop off that last letter. Add an "i" right after the first vowel in that word. Voila!
i grew up on the san juan islands but i live in San Diego now
oops 6/24
oops... abb. for where you catch a train + **uana, a big lizzard then pl
st 6/24 is the plural of the clue I jsut gave you
lizard?
the san juans are lovely -- have you met Torgone? he's in San Diego somewhere, too!
no i haven't met him, i miss WA
that clue worked ch... not sure how, but thanks!
st 5 -- add englsh and italian are l***uages
ta - i will try to get the rest with out the brain melting - everyones been very helpful today. i know this is only the 3rd one I've done but todays seemed much harder to complete
for me too, kazzer -- I think this one is more difficult than usual
I am not real fond of So. Cal myself, moved away when I was 6 mos old... LOL too hot, too dry, too much rampant consumerism. Give me the wet, muddy, very real life any time! (well -- as long as there is somewhere warm and dry to retreat to, that is)
Afternoon everybody. Can someone clue the el7's?
st 5 --- the **r we breath + *o for the *old. ... plural for teh 6
any clues on the second ga7 for 36
Kazzer -- that's how it is: some grids seem really easy and you will fly through them. Others will be very difficult -- and sometimes it's easy for you when it's hard for the others...
or, *one with the wind
i feel the same way but my special someone is here
pl of the ga 6.24, jwest
one who writes a tribute to another, el7.36
el 7 --- remember to r*****er to vote
wow thanks ahaha maybe i have been looking at the screen too long
glad you got it..
el 7 - slang for legal is the 6; plural for the 7
el7, 36 A writ of execution against a debtor
plural
version
el 7 - the company eval****s its employees' performance annually
Need a little more help with the writ of execution please.
sometimes if you Babble without a le5.14, you miss obvious words...(-: I think some Merlot is calling me..
(I hear the Merlot too Aloyisius) *holds out wine glass expectantly*
el 7 -- boiled **gs and impersonal possessive pronoun
this one is from Australia, one I haven't tried before.. Little Boomy
I hear the Merlot but I have to drive tonight - darn it.
Someone drink some for me.
lol, no problemo grannyg
el7,36? The third one?
first el7/32 please
hi grannyg -- musicmom was asking about you a little bit ago *holds out another glass for grannyg*
Little Boomy is great for the price.
I know - I saw it but my computer decided to "freeze" and I had to start over. As I got back, she was going to light the grill. Crazy weather for January.
el6, 24 e***** slang for l*****ment
the local public radio station is discussing changing requirements for teen drivers again -- postponing the age at which a license can be obtained, more restrictions on passengers and times of day they can drive.
el 7, 32 builds off the 5, 10 and 6, 18 before. A select group.
How have you been Stid?
the ***** are slang word
It's very interesting... I have already told our kids they have to have straight As in high school to even get a learner's permit... otherwise our insurance will go through the roof!
I am well, grannyg -- how about you? did you have a reasonably pleasant holiday?
el 7, 36 - e plus shortened form of legal
pi 6/27 clue please? (I'm guessing the follwing 7 will will be plural)
Hi grannyg --- nice icon
small porkers ch
pi - the 7 is the plural. Think of tiny sty animals.
Yes, the holidays were different but as good as they could be. Yesterday was my birthday so my sisters and I went out for the afternoon. Great fun because we rarely do that.
pi and pooh
oh groan ... pass me a fish. THanks, strider
Nice clue BabbleRabble.
mm - thanks about the icon. Finally got one thanks to Beth
Happy Birthday! ............... !!!!!!!!!!! !!!! <------ birthday cake
some weirdo's in this grid: li5.10 gave me a fit, li+ a kind of oriental food
I know - I was the negligent daughter.
Grin
Thanks, Stid. It was great
mm - not the negligent daughter - just the daughter who wasn't here when we had time to do it.
Stid - they sounded like a bunch of teenagers. (mom and her sisters)
mm by the way, you're invited to Janet's party on the 9th of feb. Didn't know if you could come or not.
LOL granny
Well we are a bunch of teenagers. AND I was the sober one.
*grin* nice to know we can stay youthful even into granny-hood! LOL
hello =)
Hmmmmm I don't know. I'll have to see what is on the calendar. Sounds like fun. I'll have to spend the night<G>
hello Freckle!
hello, Freckle
Hah.. the mu**** ninja turtles are in the grid!
wow! all of a sudden I am over 100! :-)
Thanks Strider. I finally got it.
go, stid!
go stid go --- i'm dense I thought we were talking about chronological age
its a pj party at janets after the steak house. Everyone is staying the night.
oh music mom -- not yet
and here's riemann, pulling into the driveway... gotta go!
I'll check the calendar. That is just after we go skiing. Hopefully I won't have a broken bone
Janet just wants me there because she thinks my pjs are cute
True - we told you to stay in club house.
Okay time to cook dinner. Hope to finish the grid later - Greg has a gig tonight, Sarah is sick and Hannah is exhausted. Lots of quiet babble time
Have a good time at Janet's tonight.
la7 and nu7 please?
Talk to you later. Thought Hannah's signature was a blast. You never know what she's going to do. Tell Sarah to get better.
la 5/14, please
nevermind...
nu7: fruit of a tree + the big lump that forms on some trees when they are infested by insects
i would take a clue for the li 5/10, though
I don't have any idea what that lump on a tree is. A little help with it?
lump on tree = **** bladder that folks often have removed
aha. Thank you
li5/10 = li + *** kwon do
thanks, ch
Any clues for the la7?

Whoops--and a free clue for everyone
yw, aloy--(from a soon to be clergy person)
congrats, miranda..
Thanks--
ty all
I'm a bit simple today. Still can't find that la7.
Kazzer - how are you going?
Just read your bio, miranda --- hurrah for you! My beloved and I were married by an Episocopal priest -- she is a lovely friend, too.
is it Kudos for Kazzer?? Yay if so..
I'm also in deep doodoo. I have 13 to go and I need to leave in 15 minutes for the rest of the day.
la + vowel + pl of what me wear around necks
I'll help if I can, mkl.. 20 more here
Thanks Miranda. I would never have found that.
Thanks ch1212--I have just begun pastoral care education at U of Colorado hispitals--will finish in April, be ordained in June
ai6 and 7?
*Hospitals
Remind us when we get to that point on the calendar, and we'll keep in you special prayer.
very similar to the tips on shoelaces
ai6 and 7 resemble the structure of the young porcine(s) featured elsewhere in the grid.
YW, MKL--
if you have pi 6.27, just substitute the first letter
Not yet - 4 to go all l something
la + vowel + pl of what me wear around necks- Miranda how many letters is this one?
I will, thanks.
Don't feel so bad with the last three words. Don't think I've ever seen them before.
la 7/28 what men (not me) wear around their necks
You've shown great tenacity, Kazzer!
no, you'll just be wearing a collar soon :D
du6,24?
true
du6/24 - what you must do (that neckwear again)
Or the first el6,21?
people should tend to their du**** before playing... but I Babble first, lol
Ok, that one I should have seen on my own. TY
el6/21 - el plus a vowel and a picnic pest.
LOL aloyisius! Speaking of, it's my turn to cook tonight and I need to get started ... bbl to finish the last few
el + vowel + picnic pest
lol, Haz.. great minds
Indeed Aloy!
Thanks again. Most of these, I could have searched forever.
thank you Aloyisius!
yup, what else do you need?
The first le6,24 and the li6,24?
li6/24 - often used in terms of a long list (a li6/24 of complaints)
Little Boomy is not bad at all, le6.24: lower extremity + german for is
Butli6/24 has church connotations as well.
Thanks Haz. Good clue
I'm just thinking that a newly non-smoker could claim not to have li6/24 cigarettes lately.
Excellent clues. Think I might finish after all. My score should go to you all for rushing me through it.
You're welcome, mkl.
go, mkl, go
pu5,14 and si5,14?
clever clue, Haz!
And finally >>>>>> ta6,18 and ta7?
pu5/14 - look at my icon and replace the m with a p.
si 5.14: light a candle, hold a v****; substitute
ta6/18 - french waist - ta plus sick then a vowel. And plural for the ta7
Great clues, everyone, thanks!
ooh, Haz, ty.. needed that pu
You're welcome Aloy - never seen the word before.
this grid has a lot of firsts for me!
That's fireworks. And many thanks to all who helped. I'm running out the door right on time. Thanks again.
lHi I'm back again - first li 6/24
Well done!
congrats,, mkl
wahoo, bravo MKL..
sorry first le 6/24
way to hang in there, Kazzer... you are the next fireworks
li6/24 - clued below at 4.10
le6/24 - le plus the bare bones of an argument.
It's the same as the second le6/24 with the final two letters reversed.
Thank you all its fireworks for me I am now going to spend some time with the hubby who is suffering from real flu - not man flu as men (and women) sometimes get
congrats, Kazzer... hope hubby feels better!
Well done Kazzer!! And hope husband gets to feel better soon. Flu is horrible.
He's had it for about a week now - spends most of the time asleep or waiting for the next lemsip= meidcation for flu
See you later
Well done on managing to avoid getting it! Have a good evening.

Hi Aloyisius
Dont' worry mom - I have been on this for ages and have slowed to a definite crawl.
well, you have over 7 hours left if you can Babble without interruptions
I think a lot of us have to squeeze Babble into LIFE... and it is really a challenge at times... couldn't do it over the holidays with a full house
OK I concede - any clues for the du8?
Du8 the biggest du4
I still have to do the things I usually do during the day on Fridays.
funny word, granny: the most unstylish person you can imagine
I agree Aloyisius. Always try to make it at least half way.
ty Aloy. I've been monkeying for ages. Got another gray hair (or two) over that one!!
The du8 is how I feel when I look in some shop mirrors. Are they deliberately unflattering?
Oh by the way....hi all. I'm home.
any clue for the il6?
il6 is the most sick you can be.
Hi Gramma
thanks HAZ ... got it
I don't have any IL words. Sorry
ty
Good, Ouwachita.
NU7? please.
fruit of a tree + *** bladder

Well done Aloy!

Hi LoriP
I'm only halfway Scrabbler. :(
Oh LoriP, I am not even halfway
OK, we shall help one another!
I am just shooting for the halfway mark
Eggzellent! Game on.
I can help with the 103 I have
I have finished very grid in 2007.
Scrabbler, that is great
i've got 18 to go. Working on the SPs now
I have just managed a bit past the halfway mark
Wow, gail, you are close to those sparkling lights!
Well done Scrabbler. I did the 1st (and was proud of that) but missed a day already because oif annoying real life.
Go for it Gail
Go gail go!
"Life getting in the way of life."---I think rennie said that here, or someone else famous here. LOL
ty ty. am banging away - head against wall. :-[}
Life always manages to get in the way of Babble
Yes, Gail, we have been noticing for weeks. The brain damage must be getting severe.
Yes, mom--well said.
[drain brammage] :D
Mom knows...
Mom always knows best!
LO
LOL even
A husband, two sons, a house and aging parents with a house. If not one thing it is another. But wouldn't trade it for anything
An attitude of gratitude from Mom!
I am truly blessed.
I cannot see the first le /14. Can someone remove my blinders?
and of course Babble. Ah, now life is complete :)
untruths?
I am also blessed for all my Babble friends
le + Mr Gore
That may not be the first li4
hey Scrabbler! hi all! no time to play at the moment... our friend riemann is here again, and trying to figure out what's for dinner...
{{{Jill}}} how's kitty today?
Hi Stidmama
Hi stid!
Hi Stid!
le 5/14: shortened form for allowed by law (sorta). Hiya, stid.
what the heck -- spaghetti it is! *wicked grin* some of our best friends think it's the only thing I know how to cook... LOL
Thank ye Gail!
stid -- kitty's ok -- blood test was inconclusively borderline -- retest in 6 weeks
well -- that's not "bad" news at least! *sending healthy vibes to kitty*
G'd evening stid
Thanks Gail
that sounds pretty darn good to me, stid!
hey Lori!
Thanks Scrabbler
jill - what's up with your cat??
yw yw
thanks, stid [prrrrrrrrr from kitty]
Okay, I will sheepishly ask for the first le 6/24....
I want to get to halfway before I grab the list... that's ten more words. *furrows brow and rust falls out of ears*
gail - a possible diagnosis of a parathyroid tumour which would be very bad news
Sorry LoriP, not one that I have
le 6/24: an appendage + superlative ending.
No worries Mom, all will be revealed sooner or later. :)
Stid, that is better than Gail's brain damage from banging her head against the wall for weeks now.
le + gi4/6
Thanks Gail and Jillibus
Wow. Thank ye. ANother, other new word for me.
haha scrabbler!
parathyroid... i've had cats with benign regular thyroid tumors.
IMHO this grid has too many new "words"
*grin* did that MONTHS ago, Scrabbler, you see now a mere reflection of my former self...
had one cat treated with radioactive iodine.
parathyroid upsets calcium balance and send all systems into a tizzy
Oh, so now the rust pours out?
not at all like thyroid
yep. see why I always test as anemic? It's cause I keep losing iron through my ears when the cogs try to turn!
so, what did they lead you to expect, jill?
Fascinating medical condition, Stid!
the cat gradually gets sick and sicker and sicker until the kindest day comes when s/he is put to gentle sleep. Surgery is not recommended.
can I get the ag6 after the plural pretty rocks?
poor kitty! *determined look* but she doesn't have the diagnosis yet, so no long face! *hands out chocolates as emphasis*
I am looking for that too, GT
more purrs from kitty and person
no surgery 'cuz the parathyroid is even smaller than the thyroid. that i understand. i'm so sorry, jill. Will hope for the best.
It's not "agile"!
lol nope
no it is not
I have tried and tried and tried
ag6 after the pretty thing -- add a consonant as the third letter and pl of the 7
I don't have it either :(
halfway! *gratefully heading to list*
Have you been trying, musicmom?
pl for the 7
for the ag 6 put a consonant in front of the voel of the pretty rock
YES <hehe> scrabbler
ag + short form of a man's name
I don't have the pretty rock either
TY TY Jill!
WHOOHOOOO thanks Jilli
a + garden doorway
ty ty ty all
yw!
The vodka I just poured has killed my typing...
thanks gail! :-)
Ooooh, Lori, did it ruin the keyboard?
yw. i just looked at the list of ST words. ACK! lol.
ah, Lori -- another vodka fan -- be with you in an hour or so
Thank you Jillibus
yw mom
LOL Scrabbler, my keyboard is fine, but I fear for my brain. Though truth be told I feared for that before I poured the drink. :)
would you like some freshly squeezed lime in that vodka, lori? my neighbor gave me a huge bag of limes, off his tree!
68 left -- just hitting the se words...I have none so far!
the limes are off his tree. i can't really say if HE is. lol.
That would be lovely gail. Very thoughtful. :)
GOOOOOO Jill!
I have 56 left - I'm playing hit or miss with the whole list
GOOOO MM! 83 for me
the na 4 please, not what I do to the hub... :)
that's what i did, musicmom. now i'm going through, alphabetically, and trying to complete each letter group.
Gail, we had a lime tree when I was little! I loved it! mother hated it because it stained everything brownish-black -- or was it blackish brown?
me too
stained...?
I am SOOOO out of practice. I have got to do this more consistently.
na4 is that vowelly greek temple or something -- a regular babblet
my problem has been figuring out what to do will so many limes. one can only drink so much gin/tonic! LOL
not stained -- doing hit or miss at first, then alphabetically filling in
Thank ye Jilli. I should have known that. :(
i think i'll probably end up squeezing the juice into ice cube trays and freezing it all for later use.
Yum I wish I lived closer - I would take them. Love them in my tea, marinade chicken with them, make pie (or can you only do that with key lime?)
great idea, gail!
Good idea, Gail.
i think you can make non keylime pie,if you want. but then, what the heck do i do with an entire pie? i know, i know: bring it here to share!
lime marmalade is good. lime and lemon marmalade is better
right! Share here -- or freeze it too?
i found some recipes... one for a lo-cal guacamole that sounds pretty good.
haha! I am at 100 -- I'll take some limes, the boys and I LOVE limeade!
and off to start the sauce for the spaghetti... back soon as I can!
hi, all!
okay!
Later stid.
Bye Sitdmama
Hi Pam
trade ya limes for some spaghetti!
Hi Pam!
Maybe you can pickle them like lemons -- see http://www.tagines.com/preserved_lemo n.cfm from a conversation earlier today about Moroccan cuisine)

I'd lose us our family rating if I clued the way my brain slips pulleys sometimes. :)
My nickname truly is "Sister Mary Pediatrica"---I am a pediatrician AND a nun. My friend and I made a hilarious video last summer with me dressed as a nun.
pu 5/14 please?
now for the si words...
I just can't come up with the last te4/4 Help someone please
LOLOL, scrabbler.
don't ask, don't _____
p + employs for some purpose
LOL Scrabbler
During filming at a public park I got LOTS of funny looks. One couple had just gotten married and they wanted their picture taken with me! I did it--true story!
can i ask you something, then, scrabbler? you mentioned in the past that you do pastoral work, and I saw in your profile once that you earned your pastoral degree
Oops. Thanks
Yes, I really do that--just published an article about it too.
as a nun, wouldn't you have the necessary background?
I studied at the local seminary.
maybe, though, it's none of my business, so you needn't answer
*sneaking in and sitting at Sr. Cousin Mary Scrabbler's feet*
LOL, Stid--family secrest are coming out!
*hoping some of the goodness will rub off...*
Ack! That took me forever. Thank ye all for the pu.
Background for what, Pam?
being a pastoral counselor
*grin* a whole passel of nuns couldn't fix me in grade school...
la6/27?
Yes, I got a degree in Pastoral Studies and I volunteer at the local cancer institute. It is my most recent passion. The Pope won't let me be a priest yet.
That's because the pope is a dween
*dweeb
but just taking vows doesn't give a person the tools they need to be effective clinical or pastoral counselors -- there are so many things to know!
I guess I wondered at the additional degree, but then, being a nun and a doc doesn't necessarily mean you have the social work type skills for counseling
ti5/10 please
Boy, for some reason the words in this grid are like pulling hens teeth.
stid, i was just pondering that
Yes, Stid!
la =+the retile an i**a**
Hi, everyone--interesting conversation, Scrabble--I'm doing CLinical Pastoral Ed at U of Colorado Hospitals--will be ordained in June, as many on the list already know.
Betty-plural of the ti4 before it?
hi, mir
I wanted to get the training in theology and ministry
Hi, Pam--
Supercool, Miranda!
Thanks Eva. I must be tired as I'm missing the easy ones.
it is cool
yw
hiya all. sigh, too big a grid for me to start now.
I am so much of anemotional barometer that I do not thinnk I could do it...
Thanks--I've actually just started CPE with a Rabbi and a Methodist minister, both women.
{{{feather}}} It's only a quarter of ten.... *wicked grin*
baaahhhh, wrong way stid! it's quarter of 8 here
hi miranda and feather
I know what you mean, Pam
I am thinking about what to do next--Master's in Pastoral Ministry, Chaplain training...and I have actually considered leaving the catholic Church to be an Episcopal Priest---cool info Miranda!
We could talk if you like, Scrabbler--
and baaaahhhhhh, you won't sucker me in, so don't waste your breath! i know my limits now! i need to do a blog post later, and can't do that and the grid. not when i'll be in bed around 10 or 10:30
HI everyone
Hey there stid, do any baking lately?
Hi peri
mmmmmm baking...... *sniffs the air hungrily*
hi again peri
Hi peri
At the risk of preaching to the choir, scrabbler you are precisely the example of how the Catholic Church has not embraced the changing times
*sigh* no peri -- by the time Tom got home yesterday I was wiped! have peeled the apples for tonight though -- so no excuses!
You have so much to offer and if your calling is in the Catholic faith, it is a shame
Hi Peri-I did. Made fudge brownies with walnuts, fudge brownies with cheese cake topping and cannoli this morning, to take down to the community store.
Miranda--e-mail me. Have you read any of Zeni Fox's books? She spoke at our graduation last May, and WOW, she is smart! She is a PhD in Theology at Seton Hall Univ.
*sits on hands so won't tempt feather* I like your blog posts!
I really don't mean to sound like I am bashing anyone's beliefs, I just don't get it
lol, glad someone does! i'm trying to think of something interesting for tonight. either it's going to be about a good photography info site, or tasha tudor's illustrations...not sure yet.
stid, I made the Apple Crustada today and shared with some of my babble friends earlier.
*jumping up and down* tasha tudor! tasha tudor! she's my absolute role model!
Yes, Pam, I know. One of my priest profs predicts that in 20-30 yrs women will be permitted to become deacons in the cath Church, and, perhaps, in 100 yrs a pope will embrace women as priests.
I have all the ingredients for the Almond Cake but not going to make it for a while.
lol! i'll see what i can do for ya then! i'll save the photog for tomorrow
mmmmmmm *considering moving closer to where peri lives*
hmmm. apple crostada... almond cake... peri you are wreaking havoc with my diet!
Tasha Tudor! I love her!
I hope he is right, Scrabbler
I will, Scrabbler, this weekend--if that's okay. I haven't read Zeni Fox, but will go to Amazon now. Pam--you make a good point--like Andrew Sullivan--gay and adamant about remaining Catholic.
hi pam, stid, scrabbler, feather and anyone else
How about a woman Pope?
stidmama, you are welcome to come visit anytime!
oooh-just got the mu7.44! Cool word!
ok, the people have spoken, tasha tudor it is! i'll see what i can come up with after daniel's bath. look for the post around 8:30ish, eastern. might be longer, depending on how in depth i go.
But it's very difficult to leave a church that has been home, and harder still I think to explain to the family why you're leaving -- how _your_ faith remains the same but isn't reflected in the actions and rules of the church.
I am not Catholic, but I do agree with Andrew Sullivan
I knowit is hard to leave, and harder for some to stay
Miranda--for Christmas one of my sisters gave me Fox's book"Called and Chosen" about the role of lay ministers. I haven't started it yet.
hi everybody
hi ping
hi Ping!
Hi Ping
hi Ping
hi Ping
gotta go, daniel's done with his bath. hi ping! i emailed you!
HI Ping!
later feather!
I have a hard time, though, with the second class status of women in the Catholic Church and Orthodox Judaism. It does not represent my world view, and I believe it does great harm
By feather. Hi ping
I have written him, Pam, because he is so articulate about being Catholic and gay. Stid--you're so right--we are a mixed Catholic, Buddhist, Episcopal, family. MAkes it interesting.
Is my question at 6:49 considered too ridiculous to consider?
Hi, Ping and Peri
Anyway, this topic started with me asking for a clue for ji4,10! LOL.
hi peri, eva, jill, stid, scrabbler, lori, pam, and feather
I'll find the book, Scrabble
in which millenium jilli?
hope i didn't miss anyone
hi, dorens
I mean Scrabbler!
exactly, dorens
you missed me... but I'm the forgiving type
buddism makes it all so much easier....
Hi pam and anyone else I missed
pope joan, jilli
i assume that you got your clue there, scrabbler?
Jill -- not ridiculous at all! except very unlikely. the Catholic church, rather than continuing the process of modernizing seems intent on becoming more and more feudal
right -- there was one -- I forgot
{{{DORENS}}}
Pope Scrabbler I---has a nice ring!
you didn
why have a Pope at all?
can i have an LA 5 clue please?
you didnt see me, since I was behind the wall listening
Pope joan was an excellent book - they are making it into a movie
Perhaps Babble would become one of the sacraments????
My son has embraced Buddhism and is a lot happier for it
The church has a way of circling the wagons in the face of change, so another female pope might be a long way away
Yes, Doren--I monkeyed that and am trying to erase the slang definition from my grey matter.
((stid)) ... Hi Inge! is this where everyone hangs out on Friday nights?
jilli... it makes many many things easier
Hi to all those people who greeted Ping and Dorens
*pounce* inge!
hi Inge!
hi, inge
Buddhism is definitely a good answer .. much happiness to be found there...
I've heard the Dali Lama speak--and have his books.
Yes, Eva--why do we NEED a Pope?
and it's the only "religion" that doesn't require you to give up anything else. You can be christian and buddist or whatever and buddist
stid, you weren't here yesterday?!
Inge -- someone thought your name rhymed with "hinge"
wasn't I? I think really early in the day -- kate came on before I left
except the "whatever" usually doesn't allow the "and buddhist" part!
well, the Tiger baseball player's name (INge) does, mine doesnt , so there
yeah that's kinda the sad part isn't it?
haven't seen kate iin quite a while... she's ok, right?
dorens, she was saying earlier today she's doign better
se5/12 please
Kate was on this AM and is feeling better now that James has moved out. She is cleaning up the house.
63 left and quickly running out of steam as I woke up a 4am this morning.
she has found some resources she can access right now, and is doing what she needs to for herself and her children. Things are looking better.
Oh that's good to hear. guess it will be a while before she can get back to canada?can i have an LA 5 clue please?
oh Eva! why so early? are you well?
I was impressed how BabbleScrabble counseled her
Ask my brain stid! It just does that a lot.
You must be exhausted Eva!
se5/12 = se + that j*** (j4/10) - lol
things always do look better.... it just takes time...which we all know cause we've been around
So good night all. See you tomorrow.
Babble Rabble is quite wise, I have noticed.
Sweet dreams, Eva!
sweet dreams and see you tomorrow, Eva!
yes, and when he first joined I was horrified by his icon
Thanks jillibus
G'night eva.
nite eva... hope you sleep better

gail - i guess you didn't see my earlier post - i said i liked your icon & asked where you found it
el6,21 pls
what do you mean Douglas?
The reason I ask is because "We're pregnant" is a banished phrase. It would be ok to say "We're expecting," but the man doesn't have morning sickness and labor
hi cliffopa! the chat is moving so very fast today... I don't have that one yet.
if i seem even more the wanderer than usual, I am sorry. The computer keeps crashing, plus the phone had rang

thanks, helen. sorry, i did miss it. i found it on google images while searching for something else. feel free to grab it if you'd like.
scrabb: due the 8th of August...due the 15th w/ our first so sort of strange but we're happy nonetheless
thanks pam :)
Thanks Inge
oh douglas -- it was a fair to say that when *I* was pregnant... my poor tom may not have felt the same discomfort, but made up for it in having to live with my moods!
du 8 is more of the du word where your trash goes
du8: shortest and stoutest
du--- the most like a du 4/8 kc
du 8 most of du 4/8
no doubt stid
Every year, Lake Superior State University issues a list of words and phrases worthy of banishment due to misuse, overuse, or having outlived usefulness.
du 8: think of the worst living conditions
gail - no thanks, just curious, what was it you were goggling, do you remember?
what else is on the list, Douglas?
thanks for the du8 -- was looking for it the last two hours!
gosh, helen. i don't remember! lol
ta 6/18?
yes, thanks for the du8, I kept trying to make it a compound word
First el7?
french word cliff.. begin with first four letters from the 4/4 before..double the consonant and add on
ta 6/18: like the ta4 before it, but add a french article at the end.
insert an i before the double consonant in ta4/4 and add another vowel at the end
scrabbler. one who writes words or music for funeral
cliff-- double middle cons of ta 4/4 and add silent vowel at end
ty dorens
The Free Press usually publishes that list from the Superior lake State College
yw

There was a combined name in Doonesbury, where the slacker acolyte Zipper was contemplating a compound name with him and Alex Doonesbury. (Alex is Mike Doonesbury's daughter, now a freshman at MIT). So when a compound name is in Doonesbury, you know it's time to bury the entire concept...

Erda, plural cats minus a consonant from the middle.
thats too many letters o2ba
the 2 kinds of cats I can think of don't work...
you're right, anike, take out the plural
Never mind; GOT IT!!!!!
it goes something like this: started my marinating chicken breasts in grapeseed oil (with some sesame oil for great flavor) rice vinigar, some green chilis, and paprika...puree a can of coconut milk, so fresh ginger, as many hazel nuts as you can muster ( ididn't have to terribly many as it turns out) about 1/2 cup, or so... a touch of honey lime juice, coriander, cardamom, and cumin. I ended up cooking the chicken still in the marinade at a low heat (about 225 or 250) until it was part way done... then took it to the pan with a touch of sesame oil and soy sauce... shredded the chicken gave it a healthy dose of cayenne, and sauteed it with garlic and black pepper. mixed in the coconut hazelnut sauce and cooking over a medium low heat until the sauce had thickened to coat the chicken very nicely, garnished with a slash of lime juice and fresh cilantro, and put it over a rice that had been seasoned with coriander, pepper, and tumeric
from the nu 4/5?
Thank you, frogtaco!!
yes anike
Pappa... do you have an asian store near you?
TY o2ba
yw
we have a bunch of markets from all over he world near me, south asian, latino, some african...
pick up some galagan root. (I think that's how it's spelled). See if they have some kefir lime leaves.
both are wonderful for thai cooking
ty smooth - copy pasted and printed :)
i remember you mentioed the lime leaves last night... but forgot about them today
make sure they're KEFIR lime leaves
galangal root?
You'll fold them in half along the stem part & remove the stem. Cut them up really fine & add to whatever you're making
very nice... I'll jot those down
galagan root is used in making curries, soups, I use it in making nut pates
Ever have tom kha gai soup? it's the thing that looks like a tree branch slice
had a great asian cookbook i lost in the fire. i had forgotten about it until you guys started talking about cooking
never heard of it
greetings from Vacation in California. Has anyone ever seen the Tournament of Roses Parade?
it had a lot of exotic ingredients

Live in So Cal, seen on tele many times, none in person tho.

We traveled from Virginia to California to see the parade live.

only 99 left

Babbler's icon says "epiphany" though...
how ya doing lu? i'm down to 94, really struggling with the long du word
long du8 is most short and stout, builds off previous du4
I'm going to get my new icon -- Jan 6 is Epiphany all right but thee are other names, like Little Christmas...
thanks stid! I swear I've been staring at that for an hour
don't the animals get to talk on epiphany?
hm. trying to remember if that's the day they get to go to church with their humans or if that's a different holy day...
for my friends who are Orthodox, however, tomorrow IS Christmas.
I think it's just at midnight... animals talk, according to my husband
so what do we think about the new grid? big? small? easy? 450 and all ending in "s"?
