any babblers from Colorado here right now?
not colorado but montana. that's close, globally speaking
I'm from colorado
they had a huge avalanche on highway 40
yeah i heard they were getting dumped again
the ri7 I found leads to a ri8. Are there 2 ri7s?
was that near you flyndog?
yep, luckily after the ski rush this morning
heard about that on the news tonight
'nother phantom: tapioca
not far from me, I'm in Evergreen, about 30 miles east of the avalanche
ptan
can't find the ci8 may i have a clue please
fargian: someone from fargo
is it flyndog or baflyndog?
8 injuries, one person still serious, no dead found yet
must be 2 ri7s then
there are two ri7's
oh, that's good flyndog, the CNN news alert didn't have any details.
that's what I thought
Hey I'm a fargian!
all the people in the area jumped out of their cars and were helping to dig people out... with shovels, skis, their hands...
snppng i see you live in portland now. that's where i want to live!
2 ri 7s and 1 ri 8
It's a great city, really like it here.

found both ri 7's and the 8 -- now to work on some of the others, if I could only remember what they are!!
frigidation should really be a word
i read it as "oh to be a flying dog" that's why i call her flyndog.
ci8/45, nan?
congrats to your frisbee champ, o2!!!
thx =)
can't find any of the 8's:(

I won some money on the Euro a few weeks ago and got all excited but it turned out to be £6.40, how sad is that
well look at it this way...it will pay for a few more weeks playing on their account

Hiya, everyone!!!!!! Can someone plz explain to me how there can be 3 8's and a 10 without e's in them?
hi movieman
8s are ci, os and ri
10 is fa
Morning Movieman, haven't come across the 10 yet
As figure heavily in all those words.
and then theres the fascination-phantom... :)
Fran, could you plz chuck in a few cluez as well?
ci8 is an award or a traffic ticket
os8 means yawning as with drowsiness, os + new york ***y + picnic pest
ri8 is plural of ri7/32, ri* (to throw out) + mr. preminger
fa10 is the act of binding up or bandaging, it looks like being in awe of something missing a letter.
ri8 is the only one that doesn't have at least one A
ty v much, fran.......
hfelton, you're really close to the 10 with your phantom.
yw MM.
i have all the 7s also, thanks to the brilliant people at the flip earlier.
Morning folks
hi hugs!
well then, fran, clue me up with those 7's plz......i have the ri7 you clued earlier......
Morning Hugs
another ri7 is an italian soft cheese
an7, against an automobile

hi andree!
Hi Andree
id7, really dumb adjective

Hi ren8. Hello Fran, Better than I was but still a ways to go thanks for aslking
:D Great crowd out here this morning! *hugs around*
Morning Sprite
Just started the grid, how is it today?
I am finding it hard going
i asked about you the other day when you were in the gr4 FMitch, haz gave me a little update. glad you're feeling better.
Have been thinking of you, FMitch. Hope you can give yourself time and rest for a while longer.
Sorry to ask but I don't know what is wrong FMitch
hi sprite , fmitch and haz and anyone else i've missed
why isn't coita the plural of coitus?
Because it would be coiti, I think - the a ending comes after a -um, singular.
makes sense to me sprite.
((sprite)) LOL delicately put Haz
Darn, you are right, I had forgotten that.
Not that there was much talk about the co word in Latin class......
except coiti not in the dictionary either
strangely enough, because it is one of the very few Latin words everybody knows...
Mornin' All!
hey Odin!
hi odin!
My day is complete - good morning Odin!
mornin' odin......
Hi Odin
Mornin' sprite, Miss Haz, Fran, FMitch Andree and all
Morning Odin
Hey ren!
there are 16 co words, missing last 5 and first 5/12 and 6/21
hi odin
wow, I have 3 of them already!
Hey Andree
andree, the 5/12 and 6/21 is an animal, add a vowel to the outerwear.
co5/12 - add a vowel to the garment?
and then plural for the co6/21
it's related to a raccoon.
hi all :)
hi ata!
Hi ATa
correction, 15 cos - according to licketysplit...
Morning Ata
Morning Ata
And Atalante - good morning!
don't know if i have the last 5 or not.
hey Ata! *hug* We're almost complete now, aren't we?
where's jac?
morning, ata
Hey, I am in the g4 :)
I can't even count felton, no wonder I have problems with babble, lol
thx haz and fran
hey, odin, you're in the gr4 today......
and hi ata
I guess that means I should enter gr4 into the word list.....
that would be a good idea :)
haz, wouldn't it be funny if it was your last word?
good evening everyone
hi lynxxxx
You would hear the sound of me screaming from across the ocean!
I think movieman and I mean the same word.
hi lynxxx!
morning, lynxxx
morning FM - good to see you!
hey lynxxx!
hi lynxxx
Mornin' lynxxx
my mind is so friend... 50 words and I am handing over to excel...
must be off - going to panto today with kids... see you later
hf ren8!
bye ren!
Enjoy the panto ren - at least you know it will have a happy ending!
bye ren
Bye Ren - have fun
Later ren
your mind is fried and you're heading over to excel? for even more fry-age??!!
am babysitting, miss 3 not in bed yet woke up at 6.30 pm from afternoon sleep. her mum would have got her up but I believe in leaving sleeping kids lie!!!
I have excel that gives me words
oh, fried! I was puzzling over friend - must be great if your mind is your friend. That's if you're not an i5.
me too andree
idiot
sorry
lol - won't comment on that
ahhhhh! I was wodnering :)
Andree: me too! Never interfere in a working relationship.
never mind should get her in bed soon, nearly 9pm here, learnt a new word when I tried to wipe her bot, told its called pribats!! ha ha
:D
how cute andree!
she is cute
not sure i approve am a great believer in using real words with kids
I thought she had made up the word herself.
maybe it's just how she pronounces it.
for "privates" right?
sprite think she is trying to say privates
miss 7 when she was 3 never stopped talking about her bajina!!!
Ah, that is so sweet :) And almost unpronounceable for kids indeed.
beautiful! I like bajina better.
now that's cute.
at least she got close to the right word
Back, BF wanted to know if I needed any shopping doing this morning, what a sweetie.
sounds like a good one, FMitch
he is a keeper fmitch
did you immediately whip out a two-page list fmitch?
He had aske me to prepare one for him : )
yep, definitely a good one
be back in a few, going to QP
later fran
QP... Queen's Parlour?
phantom: fascination
mine is quotation
mine is radiation
And I think fariation is a variation on variation.
ata you are close
ohhhh, that gave me the 10, Ata!
uhoh did I do something silly?
almost :)
uhoh. and of course I won't be able to see it!
What's the 10-LETTER word???
oh! well .... interesting!
um yeah, sorry about that!
Ata, did you see that what you are making for me is almost in the g4?
boston take the n out of ata's phantom
what?
Don't they use 'sotto voce' in English?
ty sprite and Ata ...got it
oh! yes! woohooo!
help! I need a clue for the 10!!
just gave one boston
I don't understand your clue
her phantom?
boston - andree means the "phantom" word that atalante just recently posted.......
scroll down to Ata phantom word 4:07 and go from there
no one on my sotto voce question?
I would use that phrase sprite
ahhh, THANK YOU, got it
thanks, wondered if enable was being an i5 or that the phrase was totally unused in english.
can't see it on morewords sprite?
enable is an id***
no, enable won't accept it either, hence my question
i need to add 10 letter words to my excel
phantom: cardigan
Perha[s it's not accepted because it's part of a two word phrase and not generally used on its own?
probably, yes.
thx haz that would explain it
Of course, the stupidity of enable would make an equally vadid explanation...
I have no co words after the cloth, help please
that can't be it, haz, 'cos "terra" is an acceptable word, but "firma" isn't.......
Looked it up in the dutch dictionary and it is listed there, in the meaning 'from under', like the lower hand when playing piano.
If enable was straightforward and correct, would babble be as much fun?
I think terra is a word on its own movie
of course not FMitch! We'd miss the daily opportunity to nag :)
sprite said a word
LOL
ooohhhhh! I am sorry, I even had it :(
The co cloth is my last co Andree
and there is only diet food in the naughty corner
I know because i have already been there
morning everyone
I have the other half of terra listed in the cos :)
hi kate
Andree, you mean you ate all the good stuff and left the heathy!
there was no good stuff there, think thats the actual punishment
hi kth
phantom: donations
It's the New Year policy, FMitch - people were sending themselves to the naughty corner/penalty spot. There has to be a deterrent element. (Could I be a magistrate in my spare time?)
you probably could, Haz! If you had any spare time, that is :)
it's not often we see a 10 letter word
LOL I see Haz
It might interfere with babble, though.
I found the 8s, finally, now moving on to the rest of the 7s. Only one of the 8s was a plural to a 7.
And would a magistrate have any street cred with a spaniel sitting beside her?
spaniels provide street cred!
Sure would, Haz. You could point at your sweet spaniel and say: "If you look for sympathy, look at her, not at me."
OF course Haz, Im sure Spangle can do a stern stare.
back from QP!
She could give them a doleful look and make them sorry for doing wrong.
exactly! even a hardened criminal would melt under a spaniel stare
The paw on the leg, or the head on the lap would finish them off.
It would be such a fitting punishment, to have criminals walk around with a pic of Spangle and the obligation to look at her eyes each time they want to do something.
or the ears flopping down associated with The Look
hi fran
hi andree
wb Fran
The last time I shouted at Spangle (digging a hole in the garden) I ended up apologising to her.
thanks for that co5 sprite, didn't have that one.
will have to leave last 5 co words til later, have tried everything
yw :)
that happens here too, haz .... outrageous isn't it!
LOL!
I was a strict mother as well - but all goes out the window with the dog.
andree, do you have the co4/5,5/12 combo? change last letter of the penny.
Anyway, sadly I have to go, but will be back later. Bye all!

Andree - there is another co6.21 a plural word of a 5.12 - this one is the first one
told you i was an id***, scribbled down some of licketys clues and put da's on end of co's...DUH
have wasted ages looking

how's that for phantom hunting, Andree :)
didn't want to print out the whole list!!!

welcome back kthdsn
ty jean
bbl
I'm having a really crappy day today, I feel really alone, my music is upsetting me and I keep shouting at the kids
I've got a friend coming to visit but i don't know what time
I know I'm doing really well in general, but right now I just want to fall apart and cry and scream, I would kill for a cuddle, for someone to tell me that everything is ok
Find a place away from your children and get it our of your system
Your children too in their way are grieving.
It will be all right if you decide it will be. There will be tough days, but you can choose to get through this.
I know babble, I am choosing to get through it, but right this minute it's too difficult to smile
Don't then.
the tough days are just so hard because there's noone here, I've got to go through it on my own, I don't have a shoulder to cry on
it's not him that I miss, it's just someone, anyone would do
must away, been away from the computer for a few mins, kthdsn just read you chat, I really hope you can have a better rest of the day keep your chin up x :)
You don't need one. Do what you have to do .... you are entitled to grieve .... in the end, you must pick up the pieces and move on.
bbl later:)
bye jean
You said before when you friends came you would cry with them ... do it ... let all the emotions out
I miss having someone to hug and kiss and stuff, I miss chatting about nothing while I fall asleep, I miss having a man here
(((((kthdsn)))) will a cyber hug help?
it helps a little jean
do you have local support...close friends or family?
no, everyone I know in the UK lives at least 30 miles away
do you have support groups in your area?
we moved here 2 and a half years ago and i haven't met anyone here, he made loads of friends at the pub where he works but he never introduced any of them to me, so he's gone off with a load of people around him and left me all on my own
hi all
hi mousey
I know from the chat that this is very new and so still very raw
a friend is meant to be coming over today but I don't know what time and I don't have his damned phone number
do you work outside your home?
hi mousey aaa i mean kth
i did but I quit
no no kth
anything you can do to keep yourself connected to the world will be helpful
no swearing kth
and tell your friends that you need hugs!
Good Evening Everybody
is it me or is this a seemingly nasty grid? i just cannot see words today!
my mum should be online soon so I will be able to chat to her, but it's not the same as her actually being here
denny it's a horrid grid
hi tiny
soo many phantom words...
brb I'm going to go pamper myself a little, see if I can cheer myself up
she better not see that your swearing
we can do that
my free advice, worth exactly what you paid for it, is: respect your emotions as babblerabble said, try to involve yourself in activities and always have something to look forward to. And let people KNOW what you NEED
Hi kthdsn
kth home come you never change your icon
off to do more cooking...
bye d dog
Working on the AN words.
who would want to change jon bon jovi? (sigh)
mousey? do you walk to school; or carry your books?
How come you can be against one automobile, but not two or more?
{{{{{HUGS

{{{{ HUGS }}}} for kthdsn

I'm back, I feel a little fresher if nothing else
i gotta check my e-mail bye all
Hi, everybody ... just stopping in ... mousey, kthdsn, I haven't seen you in a while
hi mp
bye mousey
Hi Mr P
Can anyone clue the two an6s?
tx for that one matty
I have one an6, it's a plural, silly stuff you get up to, sorry not a great clue
good day all-been so busy with the holidays and kids being home plus working no time to babble lately-need a clue for the an 6/24 and an 7/32?
I've got the plural one, but not the an6/24 (and thanks for what, Denny?)
an7/32 - someone or thing that is against motor vehicle
Got that one - I'm after an6/24...
kth want to see what i might be for holloween?
Halloween? it's January...
so
morning! is this one as tough as yesterday's?
AN6/24 help please?
sorry matty dont have
Question generally directied to everyone: Is Qu 1 ir 2 letters ... more generally, do words have to be four LETTERS or four TILES?
kth do you want to see or do you not?
yes feather it's mean
ok mousey
Sounds interesting, mousey ... I]
qu is counted as two letters
Letters - so QU4 has four letters including the u.
M.P-- qu counts as 1
It's still the aprostrophies ... I'm already planning
I mean two sorrry!
four LETTERS. I have an example today....
Pllleeeassseeeee....an6/24...?
I need the an 6/24 too!
So ... it counts as TWO, dorphilia?
go to ebay then type in wwe superstar gear then go to the first thing you see
any more hints to the an 7
For example one of the Qs is a four letter word meaning to give up - three tiles, four letters.
yes, a word with qu and two other tiles counts as a 4-letter word.
matty: try an adjective form of one pole of a battery for the first an6
mousey I see different stuff to you since I'm in the UK
Mousey, we're stuck in Babble land till we do this puzzle, or at least have more than one word ... just tell us.
the an7 is a compound word
so
an7 = an4/4 + ca4/5
And kth's problem ... but I guess I can look (you're in the US, right?)
Thanks Riemann!
an6/24...a + opp of yes + little richard !
ok I am going to try to give a clue for an 6:24 is is similar to a diode delete e add two letters for different word hope this helps
i never said you had to do it now

I don't think I could successfully play hangman today.
fa 10:98 the act of binding up or bandaging. The manner in which something is bound up or fastened.
Hope these help

Hello? There are 8's? Oh pooh
I'm still working on the 3's
hi fellow babblers
ri8 is pl of the ri7 (a kind of dance)
Hey, Annie
hi, annie
hi pam and charm
came in on the fa 10 and got it right away, lucky me and thanks for the clue Une
bbl
I can't think of a dance beginning with ri...
Charm, what kind of dance?
old dance. looks like that ri7 cheese with a couple of letters changed.
Thanks for the cheese
(You obvously don't read trashy novels! I think of Pride & Prejudice when I think of this dance.)
yw
ok i have the cheese now, I'll keep looking
G'd morning Babblers!
hi lori
Hi, LoriP
ci 8:45 is another name for a speeding ticket or parking ticket it is a ci******
Afternoon all. Katie - think of a rice dish and change middle letter for ri7 & 8.
Are the words going to crush my self esteem today? :) (I found yesterday's very difficult)
Nice clue, Jac!
hi Jacula
I'm going to walk away from the computer now. I got so excited about the cheese, I forgot what we were looking for in the 1st place. BBL
Later gramma.

Good morning
Here for just a few ... family will be up soon and thus the day begins. :)
Good morning, Mom.
I noticed the chat is unusually quiet. I figured everyone had their noses in the grid.
Good morning Jacula
lol feather, Hi Mom Going back to the word hunt
Hi FMitch
i was also checking to see if there was a freeze or something
I'm engrossed, not ignoring ...
Hi Ch1212
oh, i like the Ms, i found 6 in a minute! my fastest speed yet in this grid today
Good morning Babblers. How is the grid?
Hi Scrabbler ... so far ugh!
I'm off to find an eye patch. (Kidding! It's time I prepared vegs for dinner. BBL)
slow going for me this morning, scrabbler
hard
Bye Jacula
I decided to attack the M, as per featherbee's success, but I have only 4 so far.
i've got a lot with double letters, both vowels and consonants
Excuse me a moment, Callie Bunny is chewing my PJs---this is rabbit talk for "Give me a snack!"
lol, silly bunny, pjs are for wearing!
OK--I gave her bay carrots and mini-Shredded wheats--she will notice soon that I didn't give her a piece of apple.
*baby carrots
Hah, mo5,14 is my mother's maiden name!
while you were gone Scrabbler, I found the top right S and F were clicking for me more than the M. I found 4/12 for the F and 5/12 of the S.
the one that sounds like something that's really big?
Yes, feather bee, and my cousin "earth" is not logged on now to get excited with me.
heh, that's cool
woo hoo, i grayed out a box!!!!! it was the Q, but still...
brb, gotta play blocks
Bye Featherbee, congrats on the grayed box! :)
Yes! Go featherbee! I like to grey out the boxes with just a few words, when I start. It helps my "Babble Self-esteem".
Wow--I just greyed out the Q box too.
hello all of you fellow babblers!
Woo Hoo! As did I. Hi Enomis65
tough grid this am
hmm surprised pitta is not allowed?!
Hi Denny
Hello Ottawa! Your NHL Senators beat our Sabres the other night, and it wasn't pretty.
Take away one of the t in the word.
Hi Haz
Denny--your little ones are so adorable.
sorry about that Scrabbler, I swear I had nothing to do with that!!! LOL
Hello all - back to get some more words!
Was that you on the bench, telling Dany Heatley to get a hat trick?
Go Hazel!
Afternoon Haz
Thanks Scrabbler - I'm a bit slow today - and FMitch! Are you finished?
I hear family moving about ... be back later
Haz, I am slower than paint drying today, 66 left but it's keeping me awake which is a good thing
No E, therefore no RE today. Whew! And one S.
LOL, FMItch--I like your metaphor.
Still - you're a lot further on than me. And paint drying? They even make television programmes about that now!
The lack of an e is frustrating, but with it we'd be here all day. What am I talking about, we ARE here all day.
LOL I had the same through a little while ago
Oh yes we ARE, Hazel.
having to flit in and out at the moment 'cos of lunch and putting kids to bed etc. keep hoping i wll get a revelation when i return to the grid but... nope still on a paltry 31 :-(
Well, I am up to 21.
See, FMitch, you're in the lead (amongst those willing to declare)
I have a whopping 21 words, minus a telephone call...
hey ya'll, 93 here ( : and I greyed the p's by myself not bragging mind you ( :
:)

10 left
Go Inge!
And in the lead, so far as we know for now, is CHARM! Go Charm!

who's lurking?
35...
I'm not really lurking, just buried in the grid :)
darnit, my wireless mouse usb isn't working anymore. probably because i dropped the laptop yesterday, and it landed on the usb thingy sticking out.
i hate using the touchpad
Coffee refill-----anybody need more?
hello, is this one better than yesterday's?
I do! thank you!
no harp, i swear it's worse
jane, no and hi
Yes please Scrabbler!
Hello harpjane - I can't say that it is....
Oooo, I was here when the laptop took a jump.
yummy yes please scrabbler
was it painful feather?
yep, i thought it was ok, but i guess not. oh well, replacing a mouse is better than replacing a laptop
The 10 and 8's are grayed
Yes it is, Feather
wow mom, i'm in awe. i don't have anything bigger than a 6
then, why on earth did I just start it?
oh well
jane, because you are an addicted babbler
ooh just had a look and thought i'd done really well with the 9's 'cos it's greyed out till i saw there aren't any!
You were sucked in like the rest of us, harpjane - we'll all suffer together.
Here is the coffee, Lori and Denny.
not painful for me, but i bet the laptop yelled ouch
do you want the letters and point values or cllues?
i have a couple of sevens
clues*
Good job on the 9's, Denny!

Folger's Simply Smooth---it is less likely to erode our gastric lining.

if you are in awe of something you are fasc--- by it Take out the "n" between the 2nd and 3rd vowel
I am not that great on clues but, I try. Patience please
What good will a lawyer do? You need a psychiatrist for this grid. We all do.
Thanks Charm, much better put
TY for the fa10 clue.
os 8/45 dull or lazy

Thank ye! Got it. Another new word for me. Many this weekend.
Is psychiatric help still 5 cents?
ri 8/45 plural of the ri 7/32
ha. can't believe i didn't have the gr4/7
:) Charm, still working on giving clues
Hazel--off to the penalty box. I wonder if it is stocked with coffee, tea and pastries?
Charm--more like $150 or more per hour. LOL
Hazel trudged forlornly towards the penalty box.....
the ri 7 and 8 are like the cheese except you change the 3rd letter and the last letter
it's free charm...free with your signature on this disclaimer. it's just a little form, you hold me completely unresponsible for any gibbering, crying, screaming, and psychotic action.
i got it mom!
Haz in the penalty box!! What is the world coming to?
oh good Feather
***trying to figure out a cheese starting with ri.
Just for Haz, I have a chocolate cake I've been hiding in the honor bar fridge in the penalty box.
I know, and I've always tried to be so good.
Italian cheese, used in lasagna
Good morning Grannyg, I just now saw you arrived
it's very soft srabbler, used in shells or lasagne
scrabbler*
Another good clue for the ri7: Italian rice dish, but change the s.
Thank you Charm, you've taken the sting out of my punishment.
scrabbler, the cheese you put in lasagna
Cruising altitude of39 feet and climbing...
43 and stopped
ooh 44 lol

Can't you share, Hazel?
chocolate cake??
scrabbler and hazel, I am handing you both a strawberry shortcake to make your stay more pleasant....hot chocolate is on the table
lol rolin, ty that greyed my I's
No, I choose to take the punishment on your behalf. I'm kind that way.
Change the 3rd letter of the word to the 4th letter of the alphabet and the last letter to the 4th vowel
TY Annie. I got the cheese, as you can see, but I am still looking for the ri that is similar to the cheese.
np..
Scrabbler is probably allergic to strawberry shortcake, so I'll eat hers. Just to help her out.
cheesecake??!!
Back shortly (dishwasher to stack and food to eat)
oooohh SHORTcake???..nah...
TTFN Haz
TY Mom! I got them now. And I am so not allergic to strawberries. Get your hands off my piece, Hazel.
ooh, must find a word to put in chat, to go to penalty box for cheesecake
you're welcome
ri7 and 8 sounds very6 simlar to a rice dish
i luuurrrv cheesecake
ricotta
Off to find some breakfast, as late as it is I should look for lunch
lmao...its an epidemic
foflol
Yay Denny, you did that just for the cheesecake, didn't you?
Ah, peer pressure is taking effect. Maybe we shouldn't have tasty rewards in the penalty box as bait.
lol scrabbler ya think?
ok, got both ri7's, still looking for id7?
Oh no, Denny. Copy cat!
bring back the cane!!
Later Mom
*thinking*...course....some ppl might like that too
ooo sorry just noticed....me love cheesecake too. was wondering who you meant

This penalty box is getting crowded. Can I come out?
of course, Haz -- you've done more than enough time :)
We're all desperate, jane, that is why return here day after day, to find some glimmer of success.
Thank you ch1212 - I will try to be good from now on!
Yes, Hazel, I left as soon as I stuffed my face with strawberry shortcake.
And didn't think to tell me I could leave?
ok, i got 50 words, time to leave for a while
Say one for me, harpjane :)
You were too busy stuffing your face too. I thought you wanted to finish the whole cake off.
Bye jane
Later Jane.
Scrabbler, scrabbler, like the Queen I never stuff my face. I eat with enthusiasm.
OK, sorry, Hazel. I painted you as a glutton rather than a Queen.
The second co 6 please?
I'd probably find more words if I didn't chat so much, but I need some laughs.
No, my role model for etiquette is the Queen. Though come to think of it, she's never shown eating. Goodness knows what she may get up to at those banquets.
co 6/21 sewing thread
plural of the co5/12 right above it
Doh! (I forgot to plural). Thank ye!
I just started looking for U words, then realized there are none.
ye welcome
is anyone else missing the e
Hi, everybody. Just got back.
I'm missing some marbles, but I don't know if the e is in there or not ...
Somewhat, pabtrek, although I am somewhat grateful that it is lacking.
Nope. Not missing the e at all. Especially when combined with an r.....
LOL ch. Hi MP
pabtrek!!!! oh i'd LOVE an e. thinking the same darn thing
ar 6/18 any clues?
the mo5/14 and t/40 have got to be spoonerisms..lol
ar = a musical term.

But, Doren, you are noe at peace with the e-less gr4.
Hello Dorens.

For a second I thought you typed CCR and were gonna' play music for me...
Scrabbler, how could you do it? Computer CPR?
any clues for the ci`s got the ci 4/5 only-horrible grid today
To me, an words are officially as loathsome as re words.
I could send an electrical jolt through the web and it would go through her fingers to her heart. We learned it in medical school.
hey, if we can pass coffee, margaritas, nachos and chcocolate, we can do cpr!
Yes, Lori, I am looking for "an" words too.
pi5 please
ci 4 & 5, items you smoke, then plural
... I see ...
ci 5 - you smoke it
an6/24 - a plus a gesture of agreement (three letters) then the start of frozen water
ci 8, what is issued for an infraction of some type.
pi 5 - you play it
ty strider
an5/12 - the trick or funny behaviour is extended by two letters to indicate one's detestation of the auto. an7/32
and lorip for those ci words
Thank ye Haz. You are merciful and great! :-)

hi mousey
You're welcome - the an5/12 can be pluralised.....
I need more help with the an6
Hi mousey
mousey ... good to see you. I had to tell you that I was sorry about this morning. My parents held me up.
The first an6
kind of like a battery word scrabbler (kind of like is part of the clue)
(as in they said, "STOP TYPING!!!")
??gesture of agreement??
an, plus two letters of a poem form, then the almost frozen water ending.
OK, got it! TY
ah parents, they can be difficult, MP!

Yesterday's grid, combined with today's grid is greatly affecting my slef esteem. I may need therapy... :)
Hey, I'm eleven too, at least in maturity.
Remember now, Mousey?
but did you finish it lori?
what does held up mean when you said you got held up?
You aren't already IN therapy, Lori? Come one, get going! It helps a lot.
Yesterda's, yes. With a great deal of help from everyone here.
cause if you did, then it should have affected your self esteem in a most positive way!
(that was therapy...no charge)
MP--you went pro--yippee.
True, very true Dorens. That will be 5 cents, right? :)
Yep. I got held up cause I had to go to church.
all right then, you did it and you will do today's too! so think of how high that self-esteem should be. many, many people couldn't do it.,, and wouldn't have stuck it out
dorens, stop it with the "no charge". i have a tab running for all you people. i plan to collect someday.
Well, I'm a Quaker, so not really church ... something like church
hahahahaha
LOL smaller!!!!!!!!
A's are done.

the word uses a 3 pt tile
have all c's but the 8--- anyone have a good clue?
Yes, my oldest bunny, Callie, was Calvin (from Calvin and Hobbes comics) for many months before I noted that 2 parts were not present.
Really I don't like music that much except for the stuff I listen to alot -- that's only a few things
ty ch..
the c 8 is what is issued when you've broken a law
dorens - what a poloce man may give yoi
ca6?
ci 8 actually.
oops - what a police man may give you
it's a good job our furry friends aren't to fussed what they are called isn't it. As long as they are fed and loved my lot are happy
ok..time to get dinner on its way...bbl
do you enjoy alternative
ca6 is the Native American musical instrument without the o (see oc7)
thanks denny.. and lori.. i should have tried harder for that one
ca6, an auto, and Mr Gershwin with a consonant changed.
ca + pu**** brand cat/dog food
ca6 - where you dock a boat but change the first letter
TY for the ca6 clue
Later rolin
Now, on to the annoying co's.
thats what im listening to right now
Monkeyed a new word for me in the da's. Cool.
Depends
they're not that bad today scrabbler (or weren't for me, for some strange reason....maybe it was the yoga)
hello everyone ....... just popped in to say I am keeping my "beady" eye on you!!!!
mo
hi mo ... keep your slimy eyes off of us
(just kidding)
.....Namaste, namaste...maybe that will help me with the co's

There are 174 to find ... I don't know how you survive without the stats panel

fa6 a kind of flour
*she lights a candle to look around the casket*

Congrats Inge! (I think)
hooray for inge
Blessings upon George and his brother.

woohoo, Inge!!!
Later G&J

the light come back and the undertaker was next to the cat!
*cat gets mousey in corner, mousey looks scared at first but then smiles. cat is tapped on shoulder by undertaker. cat turns around and looks.* ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

ok go on to wwe.com go to superstars then go to raw superstars click on the arrow then look for shawn micaels then click it then once it appears click on videos then click raw vs smackdown then go to the first one! there you have it
yw
lol, ok
never thought i'd be going to the WWE website...
my head herts from all that
Mousey did you get your ebay halloween costume?
lol!
another clue for the fa/10 please
no not yet
fa10, something spock experiences a lot, minus the N
But it's over mousey didn't you see or else I'm looking at the wrong thing.
What's the number mousey?
who's spock
there is some you can buy
Star Wars character
something's wrong, it won't play it.
star trek not star wars haz
oh haz, not you too!!!! i thought you were too well-mannered to torment a poor little hursh
hang on
i think it's my computer mousey, i often have trouble playing videos even though i have all the right software
28...
pabtrek - rule of thumb - if someone appears to be confusing ST and SW, they are probably only doing it to tease me
oh sherb, you have caught up to me!
ahh, good to know hurshy, i do find it hard to believe no one knows who spock is
you have to wait a sec
Dr Spock, the baby man?
yep
i did wait, mousey, but it just says "locating media" and "opening media" and then nothing happens
its suposed to do that
yep, heard of all the spocks really, just frustrated cos I can't find the word!
i want the ri8 to be rigatoni but it isn't :(
a deer stops in headlights and looks in fa___________
(minus the N, still)
Yep, it's off, or yep, it's still there, or yep, you won, or what??? Yep what???
Begin with the fa6 that precedes it - first three letters of a word meaning rapid, followed by American intelligence people. Extend that.
last 10! here we go!
but then it stops trying, mousey, and just says "ready"
Mousey, did you check???
and i hit play and the same thing happens over and over
i will take clues for OS8 and/or RI8 if they are weird
try it tomorrow
assuming anyone wants to clue them :)
ok, but i'm telling you, i think my computer is just messed up.
mousey, are you male or female or mouse?
ri8 is another Italian word...
Awaiting results ... awaiting results ... awaiting results ...
hmm, i have ri7 italian cheese... is it related?
pl of ri7...
mousey is 100% mouse.
Mousey is probably blonde!
hurshy - think of an italian rice dish
but it doesn't touch an S! puzz puzz
ok.. thanks.. good clue denny. just a different cconsonant hurshy
Yes, and now an answer from the man/woman/mouse himself/herself/itself ... since mice would have a bit of trouble typing
oh, ok, another 7!! got 'em!
fireworks!
this mouse is the product of amazing scientific experimentation
wtg smooth
congrats to you, smooth!!!
Well done smooth!
ty all!
a hyper-intelligent typing mouse was produced by top-secret methods
yay smooth!
ri7/32 - looks like a compaign to overthrow Bismarck, then plural.
love your clue, Haz... tyvm
it worked for me
so is OS8 built on anything shorter?
You're welcome, Aloy. European history is not wasted.
no, rock 'n' roll history is wasted
Vaguely on the ci8.
no hursh, but it ends in a picnic pest
i don't think so hurshy, if it is i don't have it
bye all
i really thought that oscar was a type of fish... but noooooooo
oh, bye mousey, nice chatting with you
HI all an6/24 please
bye mousey

ty haz and dorens
im staying
now
oh, then why did you say bye all
wb, mousey
lol
an5/24 - a plus a gesture of affirmation, then two letters of frozen water
thanks Haz
(she means 6, but sadly the 5 and 6 are right next to each other on the keyboard)
You're welcome.
os8 is the act of yawning
i been waiting to see peri
lol
hi mousey
hi periwinkle
Hey, mousey, did you walk to school or study in the morning?
second to 5/12 please?
ooh, i haven't any to5's!
its sunday babble
just like the first dorens, but change the last vowel to another vowel
change vowel on other one dorens?
Just change the vowel on the end, Dorens from the 1st.
thanks haz... they're both silly words to me
to 5 --- bought my connected hosuing: c****minium
I have 2000 lbs + Princess **
am down to 4..
have no DA words
BABBLE ITS SUNDAY
of course I just found 3 da words :)
I have five da words... but I'm still missing four Ds...
okay, mousey, lets sing ... bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves
i have 5 da and am missing 3 d's
go Dorens!
????????????????????????
oop just got 2 more da
mousey, "bringing in the sheaves" is a hymn
There are 7 da words.
babble... what a creepy quote in your profile. scary!
have 4 da words so far
must be time to put the roast in the oven
3 di words; and 2 do words
thats not scary pappa
aha, i need a DI
Back for another shot ... yesterday wasn't so bad, but TODAY ...
catch you later
irish song, *h ***ny Boy... reverse for another da
what is your opinion of the quote, mousey?
the similarities between our fearless leader and nazi officials? scary to me!
and its plural
down to three and am stuck --all are 5's and i know i shouldbe able to get them, but..... will be back later
fresh eyes will work, Dorens
I looked ... not that scary, really
dont no hursh
Dorens and hurshy, on the topic of profiles, have really neat pictures ... well, Hurshy's is more cute, but anyway
well if you don't have an opinion, how do you know that it isn't scary?
My opinion is that it's true, but I find that for things like that children aren't as scared
my, this di is elusive!
hint?
curdled cheese product
the di i miss is a curdled cheese product?
or what g i's sometimes sleep on
maybe it is the di5.14 that refers to a major division of the plant kingdom; the plants with two seed leaves
thanks brabble
I now wish for three-letter words to be allowed, although that would be easy to find
(they would, I mean) ... but I know it's never going to happen
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
personally, i think brabble's quote is empowering. the leaders have an advantage if they know this and the people don't. but if the people realize this, then they can say... we're mad as heck and we're not going to take it anymore!
uhoh, did mousey get caught in a mousetrap?
I have to agree hurshy that it's empowering
thanks Aloy :)
i'll have to try to remember the def of that di5.
I think so, and it was just luck that it pushed O-U-C-H-!-!-!-!-! and so on
I disagree, when you look at the other covert actions that we are learning about, that have beengoing on to strip that voice and power away from the people en masse
Got to have lunch now, ta-ta for now
no i almost broke my knee
this is a very operatic grid... Aida... and Tosca...
see ya mp
but we gotta take it back, pappa!
59 left after first run through.. bb shortly
how did you almost break your knee?
And ar4/4 to go with the opera theme.
I think the recent election showed that we are trying.
so all is not (quite) lost
i just smashed it in to a a wooden chair
i would like to share that i have found 2 mo7 and 2 ri7. if anyone else feels inclined to share what 7's they have found, i certainly wouldn't object.
why would you do that, mousey?
no not at all... but the mindset of our current administration is chilling to me... The rationale that they use to defend some of these actions. And I know that (i hope) the actions aren't doene with sinister intent, but intent doesn't always matter all that much...
didnt see it
BabbleR, just read your bio. How true, how true!!! To whom was Goering speaking?
i agree completely pappa.
oc7/32 a musical instrument
Haz you can have Tosca for your operatics not that it is allowed.
AN7, ID7, MO7 x2, OC7, RI7 x2
id7/36 more of id5
Goering was being interviewed by a court-appointed psychiatrist prior to the start of the Nurmeburg trials
Yes, Sherb was pointing out Tosca and Aida.
AN7 = Not a vehicle???
i did it again
hi FMitch :)
i am officially id7 for not seeing id7 before
mousey!!! be more careful! mouse knee replacements are hard to come by.
Evening sherb :)
mousey, does the chair need an ambulance?
hurshy... do you have ID5?
ugh. using a corded mouse now on the laptop. how annoying after being used to the wireless!
yes, i did, and i have id7 now too
lol ok
i am done with 7's and 90% done with the grid!
that would be **id
I am id7 too, tyvm... hi FMitch! Long time, no see. How are you? Happy New Year too!
oops, yes, sorry bout that
Babble R, can you give me the source? OUr daughter is taking courses in post WWII events, and wrote one paper on the (Lack fo) Japanese trials already
mitch... where did you get that icon?
fmitch has had that icon for ages
good morning
interesting! someone was on here the other day with that icon... claimed their cousin had taken that picture
help with the mo7 that doesn't mean a single-celled organism
ouch that hert
i know. i saw that, but didn't want to start anything.
change a vowel, pab
mousey, you are very accident prone
hi smiley
I think that icon came with our computer
pb... it's nearly the same... just change the 4th letter to a different vowel
http://www.snopes.com/quotes/goering.h tm
yes
thanks hurshy and smooth
sorry was on the phone - smooth pappa it was under my pics whenI got the new PC.

Hello gramma - and welcome back Scrabbler. Back to the gr5 of the gr4 for you.
Yes, it is short for Hazel.
that is nice.
lol yep Haz
like the nut

lol - serves me for not looking at profiles
If only there had been a clue......
Hi Al, sherb, and others
When I left I had 80 words, i just got back and it's still only 80.... LOL
anyway... did we establish how many ca's there are?
oh, but for an e, we would have antique
Four ca words
4 Ca's.
Hi all! What - no "e" and a 10-letter word? Better get started.
Lori--your monkey is a slacker!
rats, i have all the ca's.
(Who's going to warn broll)
hey, broll, what are you doing on at this ungodly hour?
inti
into
How about the co's? I am working on those.
my monkey is a moron
broll is heading for the penalty box.
thanks Scrabbs :) ...so I need ci or co...
the main thing is i hope i need CO's and not ci's
Broll--waht a show-off.
hee hee, Broll...fifty lashes with a wet noodle..
i hate ci
15 co words
There are 4 ca's and 4 ci's and too many co's.
well then 2 co and 1 ci... :(
it's a ci...
Trying to change my habits. Too tired during the day....Oh geez, this is why I don't chat!!!!!!
Sorry.
hello, hello...
You will notice they were 4-letter words.
It is merciful and geneerous to share words, broll.
got the co's!
Could I have a clue for the da 5, 12 and da6, 21? Thks.
If you haven't been served with a ci8/45 for smoking ci5/16 and ci6/27 in public, you can say farewell to Italy.
thanks sherb :)
np, broll. try one I don't have next time.. (-:
bye yall
really, mousey?
Haha, Hazel--outstanding sentence with all of the ci's.
bye mousey
bye mousey
grammaterri--Are you teaching mousey the Southern drawl?
going to rott my brain
Just to nudge folks along with the ci words.
lol scrabbler
Tell me what you have so I can only put in those you don't.
scrabbler, if she were, she would have said "bah mousey"
funny, broll... lol
And a nudge for first da 5 and da 6 following.
Yes, hursh!
a million starving comedians in the world and I get you folks ( :
da5/12 - begin as with the lions' den survivor but end with a vowel.
trying to get to 43 without list (divide total by four), have 51 left at present
And da6/21 is the plural
go alo!
huge flock of sandhill cranes just flew overhead..
faso
hurshy, do you EVER use the list?
If you start with the list, Al, you can avoid the math.
sometimes, if i'm really depressed and don't feel like playing anymore, or if i have a real busy day, like on christmas
...is not a word...
Cool, Al! I saw sandhill cranes at the Jacksonville Zoo--noisy birds!
Correct, sherb.:)
lol, scrabbler... I'm afraid my grey matter would atrophy since Babble is such a challenge listless... however, I know my limit and I just can't see weirdo words so it is hopeless to try
yes, they do squawk a lot..
Incidentally, my sunset ic4/5 IS my own work. I took it in N. Wales in 2004.
wow, Jacula.. nice!
Do you know, Jacula, until I looked at it more closely, I thought it was a glass of water.
Thanks, Aloy. It was a beautiful silver sunset as we walked on the beach.
Lovely and serene Jacs
Should I make an appointment with the optician or just start wearing my reading glasses?
Haz - LOL. I see what you mean.
It is beautiful, Jacula. And Hazel--go see an eye doctor.
So ,Wales 2004 wasn't the year of the Liverpudlians and the scaffolding?
Haz - put the specs on! Mind you, I have my varifocals on and I can see what Hazel means.
Yes, sit back from the computer, avert your gaze slightly and see if you don't see a glass of water!
No, Haz. This is a summer pic. The Liverpudlians & The Scaffolding (sounds like a group) were in November.
I remember The Scaffold. They were from Liverpool as well.
Can someone accidentally put the following words in the chatbox? Second co5,12; fourth co4,5; third co5,12; second co6,21; the fourth and fifth co5, 12's, and the last co6,21. I will sit in the penalty box with you to keep you company.
Anyway, before I drown in nostalgia, I must toddle off. Nice to see you all - happy hunting!
Yes, Haz. Just what I was thinking. Never thought of it at the time or I'd have made lots of silly jokes about it.
bye, Haz..
Bye Hazel. My brain hurts.
'Bye Haz.
or should I say ad5? (-:
Byeeee!
bye Haz :)
bye haz
...see you next weekend :)
2nd co5/12 is pl of co4/5 before it
ice cream with a diff vowel ending
and fireworks :) ...finished with a bunch of 4's...
bravo, sherb!!!
Good work, sherb!

Night Haz
Congrats sherb!

Well done, sherb.

I must go and dismantle the Christmas tree. Should've done it yesterday. See you all tomorrow.

bye Jac
sherb, can you tell me, i have a ti4 from the right T, what's the other?

Okay, back. I keep looking for QU words even though I know there aren't any more.
I have now...
I know it well hurshy... It was featured in a video game in the mid 90's
lol
please clue the first two fa5's
My nephews used to play a videogame--Zelda, with an ocarina in it
woopsie there, scrabbler.
scrabbler used a word!!!
actually, I think quite a few people my age know it... if is' ever used, people say something like "oh that thing that was in zelda?"
see scrabbler... that's the game. lol
Damn---off to the penalty box again!

The puzzle archives are a great place to generate vocab words, which I need for homework.
Nice job, scrabbler!
scrabbler, has playing Babble helped your scrabble game?
got oc!
I would think that it would.
now i need ATA, in both senses.
... but I could be wrong, of course
no, that is wrong, i need TAT
Yes, because I have learned so many weird words! My friends say, "Is THAT really in the book?" And I say, "Yes, I learned it in Babble."
yeah it helps me with crossword puzzles too
Yes, that too, hursh.
do you ta5 and 6?
I was right!!!
lol, have had that same experience, Scrabbler; in fact, a scrabble buddy hesitates to challenge... and even when I but down a bogus word... thanks to Babble..

Great book about Scrabble and players, by Stefan Fatsis. It is here on my bookshelf--you may borrow it.

And you, Scrabbler, Lori, Aloyisius!
sorry, misread your post...
19 left to go...any more of that coffee left?
ty, scrabbler.. I'll check it out at the local library for sure.
Where, Aloyisius, did you come up with your name???
what a last name for Stefan, huh?
and apparently it's part of babble strategy too...
Al--playing phonies can be a good strategy.
Long story, M.P... it is in honor of some students I once had
got it!!
Itailian... pl... (Ital pl, that is...)
Stefan is a commentator at the Natl Scrabble Champonships, and he writes for the WSJ.

My brain is not using all pistons today either.
maybe it's something in the babblewater
Or something missing from the Babble water supply.
fish, you mean?
Hi sfwood
Oh, there are lots of fish--way too many. LOL
im's?
fish is brain food. that's our problem, instead of EATING them, we HIT ourselves with them.
torgone is sometimes im4 (sp)
That's it, hursh. So catch them, filet them and grill them up. We need more omega-3 fatty acids.
im 4 - the **t and the pendulum
I thought I tried those, hursh, but apparently I was an id5.
What kind of tree grows in your hand?
indat is not a word..."Indat I have 56 words to go, I need help."
A palm tree.
Palm tree----haha
Ha ha ha ha ha
groan

You got our attention, MP

M.P. has claimed to be 11 years old, yet had never heard of PS2 and didn't know what "lol" meant. today said was very slow, then not long enough later said had fireworks, now says 146 to go.
i thank you i thank you (bows to the crowd picking up the flowers thrown to her)
Gocha' Hurshy...
I noticed too, hursh, over the last few weeks.
as soon as i pointed out this inconsistency, you'll note, M.P. was quick to flee. i am worried about M.P.'s intentions, esp with kids around, like mousey. was asking mousey's gender earlier. let's all try to protect the children.
The first f word please denny
if that's the only quirk I meet online I would be surprised ( :
for sure hurshy
i agree with hurshy
Totally understood hurshy.
noted Hursh
thanks all, just wanted people to be on the alert.
hurshy have you ever read pervertedjustice.com? they catch all kinds of pedos and help out dateline also
yeah, i've seen some of those dateline broadcasts
the story of how the website got started is remarkable
some 20's found horrible chats and decided to do something about it
fa 5/18 = what is true is considered a fa*t .... small, jeweled headband" t**ra
I have watched some of those Dateline episodes---some "upstanding professionals" take the bait.
I say kudos to pervertedjustice.com
it's sad isn't it scrabbler?
ursh - as babble said - sorry was attending to kids!
tx BR - really struggling with this grid and find myself getting irritable and wanting to stop with 24 left
Indeed. It makes me sick to think of it. Kudos to people who get involved.
fa6/27 please
oh no ursh, kudos to keep trying! stuck at 45 here
fa + boats dock at the ma****

Our society is full of such moral decay---good/bad and right/wrong are overlooked by so many.

have you reported your concerns to dr god hurshy? (If it is still dR God)
Hurshy, observation and points well made . I work in Child Protecton field and feel it is best to be pro -active than .....

i haven't, but i guess i will now.
Last gr5?
I know he is always on the case with trolls so best to make him aware.
ar6/18 please
I hadn't noticed until Hurshy mentioned it. I must pay more attention. Sadly.
thanks everyone for the clues
gr5 - g + civil unrest
bells always go off for me when someone asks for age or gender
TY lynxxx
ar + 3rd vowel + bela lag***
gr + a mass uprising is a r***
ar 6 - add a charged particle: **n and spanish yes
ty, dsp... needed that one
Oops, amd I late with everything today or what?
It's not Lag; it's Lug...
ty dsp and br
have been a victim of id theft myself... took over 6 mos to straighten out the mess, so I try to be very cautious.. (note no gender assoc. with my icon)
hurshy - this is the first time i have really encountered something potentially untoward, so many thanks for making me more aware
oh, sorry
I am all for protecting the children .... nonetheless... I think it is a huge leap of logic to go from inconsistant to pedophile
Good point, BR.
Yes, but caution is well suggested, IMO.
surely its better safe than sorry though
can't hurt to alert higher ups tho, I have been following a pedo online for 3 years
sounds like i missed an adventure!
police are aware and his pastor also
Very true BR but if one person has the sense to say something then we can all become more aware and keep an eye out.
so far, he hasn't been caught offending, but since I know him, I have to watch and make others know, ya know?

Good for you, GT!
G'night Denny

ag = an a***, in an opera
oops my bad more ( :
well i emailed dr god. brabble - i agree with you, i don't want to jump to conclusions, maybe this person just gets a kick out of lying and it's nothing more than that. but i just wanted everyone to take notice, in case, you know?
Ok i"ve been reading the chat log and M.P said he was 11 then HOW could he or what ever he is become a member at 11 yrs old????? NO Hurshy is right watch out for him and his bio says it stands for mystery person????????????????????????

it's not quite as bad as yesterday, maybe, but it's not great either
I agree, this weekend has been a real learning experience with these words.
hi all again :) and I totally agree with Hurshy on this
I prefer these toughies, seems to be such fun chats also ( :
Ooooh, Atalante===I love red foxes!
hi ata
wb Atlante
I only have 2 ta's ursh, did you find them?
2nd fa4,7?
the first two are hard to clue... i'm thinking...
mai ___ plus petrol, is the plural one of the first 2 ta's
well, it is a classification of biome
fa = a** we breathe
the ta5 and its pl... gonna take a break, down to the dirty dozen and brain is fried
i guess that means it is a science word... that would explain why i didn't know the def, lol
Hit me with a fish for the fa4,7---that tells you how low my gas tank is today.
lol ya'll
T + city in Vietnam S***on + gr**s is green
poppin off for a bit, bbl
Bye GT
Later gramma
Scrabbler...you're good! How did you find the Vietnam T????
Someone clued it earlier...LOL.
Then THEY'RE good!
or their monkeys are good
maybe between the whole lot of us, there is at least one person who knows each word... but i doubt it! lol
ty for ta's
mo7? either one?
Why would anyone want to? If we used this words to converse, we would confuse and frustrate
some combinations ought to be words!!! They SOUND like words!!! example: tantis...wouldn't that be a good word???? lol
tant pis is something in french, if i remember right
all hi WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
mo7 adj of mo5, a set of one
Second mo7? I suspect what the first 4 ltrs are.
and other mo7 just switches a vowel from the first one
heya mousey :)
hi mousey
OK, got that second mo7. Do you have them Jane?
scrabbler check your e-mail
Hi mousey. Where is your grandma today?
thanks
WB mousey.
Are there 173 or 174 words?
Yes, mousey--I got the tricky stuff--TY
174 lori
Darn.
Now I have to backtrack. :( This is 3 days in a row....
dont know
lori, how many points do you have?
may i ramble about something off topic for a moment?
Yuck, Lori--are you using the list?
i want to guess what you are missing!
harp - when was that ever not allowed? :)
go for it, harp!
theres something else sc
Please, Jane.
Oh, I have 13 left according to my print, but 14 according to the screen, so I have fluffed it somewhere along the line.
oh i thought you just needed one more
Yes, mousey, I got both e-mails. Tell your grandma to e-mail me please.
Sorry hurshy, I misled a bit on that, but I just noticed it, so, off I go. :(
it's ok, good luck finding the discrepancy :)
Yah. It's delightful, for the 3rd day in a row.... :(
could I have a clue for the first an word please :-)
an +od4
ok atalante, (glad you asked!) I think that if people don't want you to wear shoes in their house, and they invite you over, then they should 1. tell you ahead of time and 2. offer slippers or something when you arrive, rather than expect their guests to go barefoot or in their stockings.
Clues for na6,21 and na5,10 please....I am suffering with this gr4.
oh harp, they did a sex and the city episode about that!
I agree, Jane.
I'm not talking about cultures where there are differing customs. I'm talking about Montana. I use inserts in my shoes and I am very uncomfortable without them.
na6 is a pl
tell me about it hurshy
na5/10 is n + breathing stuff + vowel
harpjane, I would have about-faced and been out-of-there!
I think the practice of hospitality should "over-ride" the practice of wanting to keep your carpet clean....
I agree harpjane! or turn a blind eye and let people wear their shoes!
um... carrie went to a party and they made everyone take off their shoes because they had a young child who crawled and they didn't want him to eat dirt. and carrie was wearing ridiculously expensive shoes (surprise surprise) and then when she went to leave someone had stolen them
if it was a meeting .. go to neutral ground
Thanks scrabble. I don't have people wearing shoes in my house as I have cream carpets and never thought it was an issue before........oops!!
Duh on the na6--I had formed the na5 singular in the other direction.
evening all
All righty then. Found my error. 13 left now!
G'd afternoon ren.
we don't wear our shoes in the house, but when people come over i give them the option. most people take them off, but if they don't feel comfortable doing so, they leave them on and that is fine.
If the shoes are clean and dry then it is a non-issue.
Hi Lori
Hi ren8
Hi Scrabbler
katie, i can understand that. I hope offer alternatives. I was at a dinner party recently where the host and hostess had very nice slippers for themselves but the guests all were in stocking feet. All I had was my thin nylon stockings.
i have the ri7 - italian cheese i think - clue for the other please
(i don't even really GIVE them the option, they usually ask cause they see the shoe rack full of shoes, and i say, whatever you want to do is fine)
Babies need their peck of dirt/germs to build their immune systems! Shoes on is a silly issue. Just use common sense, IMO.
scrabbler, that's the problem with my house, i am on a new estate and there is loads of mud around. It's not an issue in the summer but as soon as it rains it's a nightmare. Honestly cream carpets what a muppet!!
you need to change the 3rd and last letters, ursh
My feet are cold all of the time--even in the summer I sleep with socks on--so in the winter I like shoes or slippers on.
I have cream carpeting throughout my LR and DR.
if I want someone in my house, I want them enough to get the vacuum cleaner out afterwards if they traipse mud in!
tx hurshy - strange words
no shoes? what's next, sniff the socks so the child isn't gagged by odor?
We have cream carpet and it's a nightmare with kids. I can't WAIT to rip it up!
we have boot scrapers outside our doors; most of our friends know about them. When we have company, we suck it up and clean up later.
LOL Babble
When I save enough money I am getting hardwood floors.
hi ren - am back, armed with a pb&j, to finish this gr4. shoes on/off is an issue in our fam; some are shoes off and some don't mind.. so we do like the Romans..
I've just sold my house and the next one will not have cream carpets downstairs!! funnily enough I now expect to take my shoes off in all houses I enter which gets me some very strange looks if it's not expected by the host :-)
The hub thinks it should be illegal to sell cream colored carpets. LOL
Jane, do your friends (the ones not allowing shoes) also have their furniture covered in plastic and require toilet seat covers?
i like giving people the option because then at least there is at least LESS dirt, but nobody has to be made uncomfortable.
ok I'm done. back to the game....
PB & J---sounds like a great idea for lunch, except I have no bread!
Hi Aloy
(sitting in socks at my fiancee's house and he has his shoes on and is lying up the sofa ;-))
If I know ahead of time I bring my own slippers. Ok, NOW I'm done!
the furniture covered in plastic thing is so weird! it's to keep it looking nice, right? but since it has plastic on it, it looks like crap!
We have warm/hot climate here so most floors hardwood or ceramic tile with loose rugs so shoes not an issue
I like to check nails for dirt ... after all a young one may suck a finger
crackers, scrabbler? Banana? I smear pb on just about anything.. (-:
Our previous house had hardwood flors, zero carpet. I personally don't like carpet.
I just walk around barefoot most of the time. easiest!
OK, Al, I will go scan the kitchen. I could just eat the PB and the J right out of the jars!
Thank you Aloy - that gave me a good laugh ; )

there is another commercial i found ineffective, but maybe it was just me. it was for one of those job-hunting websites. they have a young guy being interviewed by an old guy, but the old guy isn't listening, he's making up funny things about his jujubes, like which colors are king and queen. and so they're like, you're better off using our website. but to me, the young guy is boring and i relate to the old guy with his jujubes.
A clue for di5/14 please

What's that saying, put off today what can be done tomorrow?
bye
oh, and scrabbler and mousey have got on the bandwagon too... i'm going, i'm going...
Hurshy technically should go exersize because if you don't excersize the excess calories and fat won't get burnt and if you don't burn your excess calories and fat all of it will build up in your body, more particularily in front of your stomach, and then it will shape into a big round ball and you're fat. So there.
bye hurshy, blessings! ty for all the help 26 to go
Congrats SCrabbler! Hurshy are you exercising now? :)
poof
the life you save ( by exercising) may be your own
Scrabbler and mousey have your best interests at heart....

but not past next Thursday
any clues for the an6 for 24
umm...sort of...not a whole lot at first (although I ended up with an infection and consequently some extra ultrasounds to make sure all was well). They will start watching really close at 30 weeks with non stress tests every 5 days and at least now, they are willing to induce about 37 weeks which will help us rest easier...not as long to wait :) but really from all they can tell, our issues with him were random (although he was a really active baby)
discovered that it is too much hell. I like being at home and living off my hubby
welcome back klaurel!
OUCH, Kristin! I had stress tests TWICE a week for like 3 months, restricted activity, and bedrest for 2 days
ahh. i'm glad to hear you'll be watched closely at the end, if nothing else for your own peace of mind.
ci6 please
Our son, Chris, was one of the 3 geniuses who programmed Border's inventory in 1992. Our daughter worked for their customer relations until they gave that to Indian workers.

back to the puzzle
She was an interesting charismatic woman, so maybe yes
Thanks Fran
did i miss Babbler? i saw a post from her when i scrolled down in the chat.
yw BA!
My husband and I were going to see the Queen, but we were running late so ende up at Dreamgirls instead. Proabably a better date movie, but I still want to see the Queen too.
nope, I am tired of Diana....may she rest in peace, and let the media leave her alone....I still want to see the Queen.
I just saw Helen Mirren on 60 minutes. She is GREAT, what a woman!
jillibus, is that what The Queen is about? or is that a small part of the pic only?
I dig Helen Mirren!
She was going to enter TO's suggestion to ic** theme, don't know if she is cmoing back

i cannot believe i am struggling to fins my last word and it's a 4/5........gre
mine was too TO!
fa6/27 --flour or meal made from cereal grains and cooked as cereal, used in puddings, soups, etc. (like Cream of Wheat) -- also in French with a diff last vowel, just plain flour -- my sis-in-law had a white cat she called that name becuause it came from a bakery's litter of kitties.

Elisabet...........i sooooooooo agree with you on Singin in the Rain........along with all other Gene Kelly movies
i loved reading HP! i'm excited and sad that the last book will be out and then it will be over.
I never got that last 8 - was it an ra8 or an ri8?
i think that's the german cover for 6 actually hk
ri, Elisabet
ri
lbd - isa - but there's some amazing fan fiction out there, you just have to sift through a lot of 'iffy' stuff
i imagine she'll come out with something else though
I've watched Singing in the Rain several times in the last couple of weeks - my seven year old thinks it is the funniest thing ever.
the germans got a different cover? why?

HK, I've read some of the fan fiction. you're right there are some that are very good and others..well, they need to keep writing to get some experience.
grrr i keep tyong in the fa 10 and it won't take it grrrr
You are correct,Kalea. What else was Donald O'Conner in? I can't think of anything off the top of my head.
The covers differ by countries, or so i've been told.
Francis the Talking Mule?
finally i refreshed and it went in !!
Never seen that...
lbd - LOL - oh, we're both just so polite - let's just say it as it is - some are poop!
there was a whole series of them
haven't read any myself
fa6.30 + hand lo**** makes your skin feel good
lol HK, yeah you're right, poop is too kind too, crap and garbage come to mind
LOL lbd yep!
I've never been able to get interested in the fan fic myself; I've read a little but prefer the straight discussion/essays.

Aquestion about ic4/5 themes - does the theme of the day change at the flip, or is it local time? Just asking because I see some of tomorrow's theme already (tomorrow by my time).

I told myself I'd stop when I got that last 8 - now I've got it and have to turn back to the most depressing book ever. I can't believe my book club chose Crime and Punishment after all their whining last year about Anna Karenina!

helen -- love your ic4
ri7...............italian cheese
Actually,I need 2nd ri 7/32 word please if you have it
ri7......ri + polka *** bikini + not away, then pl
It is a little bit of both. I think the actual moving will be the pain. However, once we move,we'll be happier.
I think I have some personal associations that make reading Dostoevsky difficult for me too; I'd just finished Brothers Karamotzov when I was diagnosed with lymphoma twenty years ago. I kept trying to read more of his works during and after treatment and just couldn't do it.
I have no problems with Tolstoy though
min, i hope you find something wonderful
oh my, Elisabet...........i guess i can understand that
ad 5 please (ashamed to ask)
k.el - wtg!!!! 20 years is a long time, i'm so glad for you!

Helen, I'll join you! I really should have some vodka to go with that depressing Russian novel, but Idon't have any so I'll settle for a kahlua and cream.
