I've just discovered something amazing on Napster...It's the soundtrack of the 20th century...
sounds interesting
It's called "Sony Music 100 Years: Soundtrack for a Century"
I'm currently listening to "If You Knew Susie" by Eddie Cantor...
phantoms: stertor and that music from the 70s that you either love or hate
hi everyone
hi saph!
morning saphyre
Would you consider "Stayin' Alive" by the BeeGees to be the song of the 70's?
phantoms: district, codger, toreador
Has anyone seen Diem recently?
I was finally able to log in to Babanon this evening Fran so I'll post the pics tomorrow
cool saph
sorry, i didn't mean for it to be such a hassle for you! :-)

no, I meant to do it and just kept forgetting so thank you for reminding me :)
and re: stayin' alive, yes, that's the kind of music that is my phantom
katie, an oa5 word is another name for a western
It's a clue...it appears in crossword puzzles from time to time...
hiccup...
a clue for what? the crossword puzzle?
morning all, got the oa fran but didn't know it meant western!
oa5 in crossword puzzles is often clued as "cowboy movie"
hi mva!

Got a big fish in Iraq...

Good question...Enable seems to think it's not a verb...
I just read in the news that John McCain remarried one month after divorcing in 1980...I didn't know that...
my phantom....erotic
thanks rolin, that pointed out a similar word that i missed
that's decisiveness for you, douglas... morning all :)
hi sherb!
hi Fran! ...your icon looks like a woman with something on her mind...
hi sherb!
hi sherb and everyone else I may have missed
yes sherb, prison time i think, but not for attempted murder, just the attempted kidnapping
hmm for some reason it didn't save my changes to my profile...be right back
John McCain
hi saphyre and MVA :)
just checked your profile out, cute icon saph!
John McCain's campaign for President is so going nowhere so quickly, his divorce is ancient history as far as I'm concerned...
how about ol' newt and his indisretion(s)--can't picture him as pres material
Is there anyone you do picture as pres material?
thanks Fran :)
I think the Newt story is hilarious... how can politicians expect us to believe them when so many prove themselves to be dishonest or hypocritical...
more nays than yeas
Tom Cruise for president... don't laugh, it might happen...
and it was someone from church he was cheating on his wife with--how can Falwell back him with a straight face?
is lies, character assasinatiin and a hot line to god make for a good president ... heck the number of candidates is inmmumerable
cost of couches w/Cruise would be prohibitive!
lol mom
Is the fact that Mitt Romney is a Mormon a deal-breaker?
only if he tries to convert me
I don't believe he's tried to convert people as Governor of Massachusetts...
Isn't it years before Bush goes?
in today's politics, the candidates are willing to do anything to get elected .... they are power and control freaks that tlak about character and integrity while orchestrating the most neferious perfidies ... they are lowlife hypocrites that disgust me
Election is in 2008
Your run up to elections is even longer than ours!!
One year, eight months before the election...
sa4/5 tongue in cheek, Doug. would't be talkin' 'bout W now would you BR?
Blair started talking about going years ago, but he's still here... and we don't even get to elect his successor...
FBI may be tracking our profiles as we chat!
playing Babble would be good for them mom...
On the bright side sherb at least it should be quick!! and honestly to my mind they are all as bad as each other but at least Gordon might not have such long pauses in his speaches - it drives me mad!
lol sherb
I like the fact that diet does not exist in the puzzle - or my life it would seem!!
ever since it was pointed out what the first 3 letters say, i've avoided one!
taking a break, i have a baby here that doesn't want to go to sleep
lol mom23
bye Fran
later Fran :)

i'm going for another bridesmaid dress fitting, but as the plasterer is in doing the bathroom it will be a pleasure today :-) See you all later

2nd di 7 please anyone??
I have a di7 which is the past tense of di5/12... repeated...
My 3:29 chat was that clue...
tx sherb have that one
di 7 -- a tsunami is a natural di 7
good heavens - thank you br
Good morning/evening all.
Hello, Haz
BR i of course immediately typed in the word with an extra s

Hello BabbleRabble - your icon is especially restful today.

Goddmorning/evening everyone. This one looks fairly manageable. What is it like?
Good morning Ex-Wren - I've just started but I like it so far.
Are cricketers allowed to take *******s?
Good morning, ExWren .... pretty trypical grids... there are some challenges
I just had to refresh, to get my new icon
Atalante's the one to ask about cricketers.
There was a time in the history of baseball when the baseball itself underwent significant changes...everything past 1920 is referred to as the "live-ball" era...
The reason I say this is because Barry Bonds went from a lanky speedster to a hulking behemoth, and it was legal to take *******s at the time...so maybe we should call the late 90's-early 00's the "live-player" era...
Douglas - just clicked on your icon to see the French presidential hopeful. Would she stand any chance in the American race?
Hard to say, French politics is so different...but she's quite easy on the eyes...
Isn't she? In quite a natural way. It's actually unusual to see her in a colour, she usually favours white or cream, to make her stand out from the crowd and to give the impression of purity. Her dry cleaning bills must be impressive.
I think all the French candidates are in a race to see which one can give France's lunch money fastest to Iran and the car-torching "youths"
Then the US should have the equivalent of a ms america pageant as part of the electoral process
morning all
But is it not true that being photogenic helps these days?
Morning sprite...
Good morning, sprite.
Goedenag, sprite
goedemorgen, BabbleRabble :)
hi babblers!
Sure. If candidates are going to get elected based on appearance, integrity is passe
hey Fran!
Good morning FranMag!
hi sprite!
hi haz!
John Edwards is about as photogenic as a candidate comes...he even has a photogenic family...
if Balkenende can win an election, looks cannot not be all that matters...
sprite, are you saying looks are a factor only?
I agree that looks shouldn't matter, but it seems they do. The policies should take precedent when choosing a president.
I think some people will choose purely on 'who they like', while others will consider politics. And I meant to say that Balkenende is so ugly, he cannot have been chosen for his looks.
Likability and optimism play a great role, other things being equal...
but I totally agree that it shouldn't matter.
in English, a double negative becomes a positvie; or : "looks are all that matters."
or, looks cannot be all that matters.
or, looks cannot be all that matters.
ahhhhh now I see, I typed the not double. Sorry, not functioning anywhere near normal atm, seems even my typing is substandard. I meant 'cannot be all'
I try to think about whether a person is qualified for the position he/she is running for based on their experience.
For example, Bush was a sitting president, while Kerry had never been an executive...
time for me to be off
so, then, you automatically vote for the incumbent?
sprite, did you do sudoku yet?
That was a quick visit, Fran - off to bed?
something strange, archives do not show a March 8th puzzle
not yet, Fan, just started babble. Did the dreaded weekend shopping first and hung up my wash - I am a ^%$& hero today :)
which would mean you voted for Clinton too?
i was here earlier haz, just popped back in to say hi and see what else i could find
wow! good job sprite!
Ah, I see. Some nice words in the grid today.
:D
anyway, off to bed for me...goodnight or good day to you all!
No, sometimes the incumbent does a horrible job...like Jimmy Carter, f'rinstance...
Good night Fran!
night Fran, sweet dreams!
or george bush who has down nothing but lie and distort to invade a country at the cost of american lives while cutting health funds for returning soldiers and alienating the world
I was just about to say or george bush the elder...
Do you have a candidate you are interested in, BR?
but then, as an incumbant .. . he has experience lying to export democracy while ignoring the rights of the people at home
not really ... I think politics is dirty business run by dishonest power brokers
yay! I second that - I always find it difficult to vote, because no set course ever survives being elected. They tell pretty lies to get on top and then do something else.
But if you don't put in your $.02, you forfeit your right to complain...
says who?
I take it that is your voting ticket?
and don't assume I don't vote
Oh, I'm not...
Hello again, only 104 to go and the day ahead!!
I'm just referring to participation in general, sprite...
yay katie!
Douglas, I meant to ask about that S.02
to say a citizen cannot be critical of his government is the epitome of intolerance
God morning katie.
Good, that should be..
It's an English idiom, sprite, to put in one's two cents worth is to express one's opinion...
I was wondering, had to have a quick check it wasn't a Sunday :-)
Although, in Britain we would say put in our tuppence worth.
Do you still have tuppence in the UK?
My cat when I was growing up was called tuppence because she was so cheap.........blame Mari!!
Yes, Douglas, known as the two pence coin.
but it's now 2/100 of a pound, as opposed to 2/240 of a pound...
Yes, although pre-decimalisation there wasn't a two pence, only a threepenny coin.
I'm past halfway, but all the tiles are starting to swim around and bash into each other...gert, ster, tida...
To return to the French, though cookery this time, have you found the fa5/18 meaning stuffed?
Indeed yes!
Excellent! One less to confuse the eyes.
It's mildly amusing that there is an i right next to ******...
RIght, I must take a break - words are not queuing up in line to be counted in so the search parties will have to be sent out later. Happy hunting to all!
Morning, Douglas and Haz. Clue for cr6/21?
Your fave pet is in the grid today, Haz

byebye all
happy babbling
yay hannah
Wow. Congrats hannah lou. I've only just begun
Congrats, hannah lou
cr6/21 clue please?
I don;t understand the stats
cr6/21 means a 6 letter word that starts with cr and scores 21, Kersti
cr 6/21 -- add the talks established a b**** for an agreement
thanks
Kersti, scroll down this page and click on the link for Angelsong's Babble Page .. . she has assembled useful information for beginners and veterans alike
Thanks Rabble. Still can't get it, tho;. Must be feeling dim today.
when a bad situation has escalated to even worse, it can be called a cr****. Change first vowel.
cr 6 --- some sales of used goods are sold ** **, with no warranties as to merchantability
Thanks very much. Got it now.

I have as8/45, di9/66, si8/45 and ti8/45. Still one 8 missing in action.
Thank you very much, Sprite.
i have a to8/45
as 8/45 di 9/66 si 8/45 to 8/45
ti 8/45 too
as 8/45 di 9/66 si 8/45 ti 8/45 to 8/45
thanks for the to8. Can't believe I could not find that after having found the ti :(
Thank you corpsvalue and BabbleRabble... and ARB!
Good morning, Scarlet
ha i guess we gave it away with the 'to' part. oops!
Hello, BabbleRabble.
lol, I needed that, corps - having a blind day. Week. Month.
then you deserve a gimme then sprite ; )
You are much too hard on yourself, sprite. tsk tsk tsk
my phantom word today is 'fascist'
that'd better stay a phantom :) still, there is a de that is almost as bad. Thanks, both, will enjoy the gimme :)
any clue on the da 5/14?
Also, could i get a clue for the si 8/45. I just cannot see it!
unusual past tense for si 6/18
evening all. ARB, it sounds like a man's name, means an ancient persian coin
start with female sibling, corps
ty Ornith
got it! thanks sprite and ARB!
er, morning. so used to playing at night!
hi Ornith!
good morning everyone. How's the grid?
morning Eva -- how's the river this morning?
hi Eva
grid is nice, pretty friendly today
so far so good. It has gotten warmer, and is supposed to rain over the next few days, but they'rea saying that the main danger will be if it gets above 50. They
ne6/18 ?
da5/14 - d plus Mr Clapton, first vowel changed
Morning all, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, and the grid doesn't look all that bad, either.......
hi pida
ne 6/16 -- the person who ne 4/4
They've put sandbags around the statehouse, and yesterday began sprayng dark organic material onto the river ice to absorb more sun/heat
just clued, Amiku, see 5.26 and up
OH
Thanks <3
hi eva- just come up for air and saw you
sorreh sprite
I'm going to bed now anyway
hi 6a. Just woke up. Somehow managed to have my loew back go into spasm yesterday, so am drugged and flat on my back.
night Amiku, was not meant in an unkind way!
the drugged part sounds nice. and an eciting flood to keep track of.
the pain part not so much fun...am hoping it will go away soon
Geez Eva, tough going! *hug*
thats what i said at 4 am about the shoulder. it seemsTHEY ought to be able to fix pain
They can-but not without big time side effects like being totally out of it and addiction
Tough -- hope the spasms relax soon
thanks ARB.
of course pain does tell us not to do what's causing it, but a subtler hint like a red light flashing would be better
I've often thought that babies should come equipped with lights on their forehead to indicate why exactly they are crying.
and why didn't it warn me WHILE I was doing what I shouldn't be doing instead of after? That would be convenient
you'd be surprised 6a. people with no ability to feel pain end up basically walking their feet off and stuff like that.
and eva, feel better!
thanks ornith!
Haz, that would be awesome. I hate the sound of babies crying.
you're right ornith - and lets not forget the fakirs -- they seem to have gotten a handle on pain too
or the interrogators
LOL
tales from the Star Chamber
fireworks. Have fun today or tonight or whatever, all of you. Hope you will better soon, Eva.
no one expects the spanish inquisition!

Just goes to show you the dangers of getting organized. Chaos is much more natural!
ahhh - I hope you feel better soon - back pain is just about the worst
I agree.
and obviously healthier, Eva!
time for water excercise class. 79 to go, not bad, since I started after six am
Happy exercising inge
hi inge
have a good time
enjoy, Inge
***Lori's idea of exercising probably doesn't technically fit the actual definition for exercising***
Would you like to share your ideas, Lori?
I think Babbling is exercise, supplemented by occasional trips to the kitchen for more coffee....
:-)
and cookies with the coffee, right?
Exactly! You have to replace those burnt calories....
heh
chocolate chip are the best.
Double up on the cookies!
Ilove physical work, splitting wood, yardwork, whatever, but to go to a gym and actual fit the traditional definition of exercise, well, if you can't eat cookies while you're doing it, it's just wrong... :)
clue for first a please
Well, Lori, you have been grappling and looking like a deer too. More calaries burned.
I like the way Babble thinks! :)

hey lori
say hi i have two daughters today i am very lucky love to everone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Can I ask a question of you guys?
sure
How many of you work in an office or at a company that plays music in the reception area?
I used to
did they play music in the reception area>
work from home now, so music is on still, but definitely my choice
I have been doing afternoon relief at our office down at the reception desk
I turn on the radio on the phone, which is what I do upstairs at my desk,
yep - a blend of old and new - lite stuff
one of the big wigs makes a big stink about it and tells my boss that I have to turn it off that it is unprofessional
that sort of stuff depends on the boss, unfortunately
really peeves me off, I use music to stay up beat and focused while I work
I can't see how it would make the company seem unprofessional when a customer comes in
some folks are stupid that way sheryl - I'm sorry you have to deal with one of them
my immediate boss told me to do some research on the benefits of music at work which I gave him on Friday
and? results next week?
I was also thinking of doing a survey of the local business and then my boss will present it to the management meeting
not quite sure why not having the music bothers me so much
ahh. Good luck - hope it works!
I am usually pretty steady, things don't bother me but for some reason this is sticking in my craw
oh well, see what happens
Can anyone clue te 6/21?
you must really use it to keep calm. :-)
don't have it arb to busy chatting
don't have that yet ARB

good morning scrabbler:)
*plate* even
Hi Scrabbler
well how do you like that? found the 9 all on my own.
I fed all the bunnies, made a pot of coffee, and walked over to Babble Land. That is my morning routine.
me too, wolvie!
Good for you, WOlvie!
me too but its feed the cats not the bunnies
way to go wolvie lol
;-)
usually, I sign on to a bunch of clues, but not this morning - cool for a change. :-)
well, no coffee yet as I think I will hold out--have to go in to work today--but walked and fed the dog and fed the cat
way to go, wolvie
well off to make some breakfast, getting hungry,
bye sherylr enjoy your breakfast:)
its all this talk opf coffee
taking my son to get a new pair of basketball shoes, he tried out for the team and school and made it so I told him I would get him new shoes
congrats to him, sheryl
very cool sheryl - have fun and congrats to your son
he is so happy he tried out last year and didn't make the team but tried again this year and made it
Good for him, Sheryl, and be prepared for many choices.
well done also to your son sherylr you must be proud
lol, don't i know it
I am very proud of him for sticking with it even though it hurt him so much last year not making the team and going through it again this year even though he knew there was the possiblity that he woulld not make it agian
"roid" is not a word, as in ste-roid.
sheryl, i understand your pride!
That is an important life lesson for him, Sheryl. Keep trying and don't fear failure. How old is he?
roid might not be, but that oid comes in really handy today
Sheryl tell him we all send congrats to him and tell him that he has learnt a valuable lesson that is consistency
OK, Wolvie, I'll be looking. I am just getting "intimate" with the grid right now and finding letter combos.
OH, gang, I guess I used a word below! Yikes...off to the penalty box. **look for my inadvertant clue!*
hope to bbl happy babbling everyone, I need to dash:)
bye jean
Bye, Jean!
bye, jean
bye jean
well, scrabbler, your clue eludes me, LOL
ge6/24 please the first one??
st7
ge 6 -- add the fee paid to lease an apartment
ge6/24 ambitious person a real go-ge****
a doc fer sure, scrabbler. ;-)
tx brabble - prob the only one my monkey didnt try
St7's sure are great drugs, when used correctly.
yes they are. :-)
let the record reflect that you have already given that word outright scrabbler
it's all in your permanent record
indeed, they are.
and, now, she sees the light and the reason for scrabbler's penalty, LOLOL
I know, Esprit, that is why I 'fessed up at 7:21 and went to the penalty box. ***munching on chocolate chip bagel from penalty box snack tray**
OH OH watch out Wolvie she has taken note
hmmmmmmmmm, penalty box can't be such a bad thing after all
huh? I never take notes. ;-0
No, it isn't, Esprit, except for the excessive calories.
thinking, scrab, that your "slip" might not have been so innocent after all hmmmmmmmmm
And I used the word BEFORE I even knew it was in the grid. I feel terribly guilty, Esprit, just so you know.
there is one d that is killing me - any odd ones - oh wait - there are a bunch. It's from the left hand d - I have all the 7, 8's, and the 9, so it has to be a six or under - any ideas?
I understand. But you must not carry this guilt like a sack on your back
Don't worry, the chocolate eclair is making me feel better.
jeez - eclairs, bagels - I should get in the penalty box
there is a di4/5
a couple of them
more than one Jeanius. :-)
Well, my time is up, time to exit the box --------->
I'll just have to come back to it - rest the brain on the d's for a bit
di 5/14 -- there are two --- this one is tbe past tense of do + not an avenue but a **reet
I saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaid
;-)
finished the eclair, eh?
go scrabbler
that was it Babble - the **reet one. TY very much!
G'd morning, again Babblers!
too many d's for this poor wolvie
hi, lori
hi lori
Hey, Lori, how's your onion?
Hi Queen Nova Scotia. How is life in the maritime provinces?
the C's were murder yesterday
lol
Yes, Jean--conga, conge, congee, conger....I almost puked
yes they were
Scrabbler, there is some big yellow thing in the sky, and temps are above zero. I am bewildered....
Hi Lori
how about a clue for that fat 9?
they call that the "sun" Lori and it is a good thing
Babble, there's that deer in headlights look from me again. Why am I not getting the onion reference? ***reaches for more coffee***
many people worship it
The planet is rotating and the sun is now reaching Nova Scotia! Yippee for you.
***Ponders the word 'sun', has forgotten what is is like, but enjoys it nonetheless***
google it Lori, you will learn much
I was starting to become a flat earth-er convert, with the brutal Feb and March beginning.
hello fellow babblers
hi, annie

Hi Ren

so far this grid is fun..
hey aloy
Hello Tiny & Flosey
hi Tiny, went to get a cup of caffeine
hi aloy
and ren
hey there, Wolvie!
and Tiny!
"so far" being the operative words. It is likely to be painful near the end.
look in the d's for the 9 scrabbler. :-) out of whack
like a mirror in a fun house does to your image
Oh, there is a "dis" prefix.
ooh, maybe we said too much, wolvie?
The 9 is di 9:66 think of when you see your image in one of those wavy mirrors your image is di*******
don't want to spoil Scrabbler's fun
TY, I found it. Assists are given to Wolvie and Al.
hi fives Wolvie
i need to go grab a shower, but before i do, i'd like to tidy up my 8s. i have si8, ti8 and to8. help with the missing one please?

ar 5-- a green spot in the desert: oa***
ty, ty, and ty you again
bye feather
Later feather
I can't believe that si 8 is a word....
like partnered lori. :-)
does it remind you of an onion?
you want to share lori?
Perhaps that is why I cannot find it, Lori. (Not that I have found any of the 8's yet)
as8:45 a name for a big rock falling from sky
si + not your brother but your ****** + past tense color r**
TY Lori, and BR--2/4 now.
***why does Babbler torment me with the onion, and when will she release me and my mental health***
*Babble
perhaps when HE feels like it. :-)
ok, ok, how come "todger" isnt a word? I WANT todger.....oh, ahem.....
BR is a he, and he likes to give cryptic clues, to make us think
hi dachef
I tried that too, Dachef
hello dachef
put an st in front of that, monkey a bit, and get st 6/27
G'd morning Dachef
ti 8 -- is the past tense of what runs through the courtroom after a particularly important revelation
Hi Dachef
Any trolls aboput today? Have had a really crappy week, and I could do with feeling socially inferior to someone.
TY, BR---3/4 now.
the to 8 is the polemic to the teetered
LOL - no gasps eh?
LOL, Dachef. I agree.
the to is unstable on heels
whilst walking
oh very good
wow, Scrabbler.. good job
as 8:45 a name for a big rock falling from sky
And, BR, you helped me finish the 8's. I now feel more whole.
have the 8's and 9's, onto the 7's, thanks for the help
asteroid
wholy, infact. :-)
ooh, no.... sorry, but ty Tiny
Great clue Aloy!
hey aloy - you got it!
very good Aloy
see, I needed that second cup!
Are you seeing one now, Al? Is that a warning?
Sure, noone clues stuff I don't have...pout
You are welcome
move the ding dong cursor, Aloy
I have all the 7's - per usual it is the 4 and the 5's that are killing me
which is so bad in so many ways. ;-)
116 ways for me
;-)
aloy - the ding dong cursor? Is that a euphemism?
a euphe what? too many syllables for me, lol, Dachef
I keep getting "______" was not found in the dictionary....and I am getting a bit annoyed
I keep trying ditter
me too... i like ored, like the mine was ored
I am creating lots of very reasonable words here but getting rejected
lose the er annie, use an o
Yes, Al, I tried that too
and oreo, the cookie with the little o
There's your problem Scrabbler, you're trying to be reasonable.
Lori is right, watch it, scrabbler!
and i really want otitis as in otitis media
You are right, Lori. I must leave all reason and sensibility at the door before I enter Babble Land. Silly me.
a problem Scrabbler is intimately familiar with
Oh, Al, it is my weekend off. That term just made me cringe. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH, the pain!
but i just got the cute little river creature that i love to watch, ot5.10
TY, Al. Aren't they cute! I saw them at Amelia ISland a few yrs ago.
Scrabbler, how often do you get a weekend all to yourself?
are there many ...oid...words...i have only one
Okay, I just wasted 5 minutes of my life looking for a word I already had.
I work one Saturday and one SUnday per month.
LOL, Lori--I do that a lot.
ad lib; ad hoc; arbitrary; approximate, capricious, discretionary, erratic, fanciful, frivolous, inconsistent, injudicious, irrational, irresponsible, offhand, optional, random, subjective, supercilious, superficial, unaccountable, unreasonable, unscientific, wayward, whimsical, willful
When I worked I used to get one weekend off a month, now I have them ALL
Yup, most of those words apply to me, BR.
lori - just 5 minutes? I worked out how much time I had spent doing that - I worked out that I would have been able to learn 4 languages, travel to the moon and back, and take over the world. Still cant be arsed to do the dishes tho.
de 7:36 = de 4:5 + end of robot
howdy, BR... whatcha talkin 'bout?
ty tiny
enable dictionary
this is so sad - so many r's are easy, and it took me awhile. le sigh
nice one, tiny.. ty.... ah, BR.. so right
LOL Dachef. Good to know Scrabbler and you confessed. Made me feel less alone....
ok, I'll fess up too....
what are we fessing up too? I've been gridding
looking for words you already have, wolvie
It is even worse when you beg for a clue, maybe more than once, get 6 responses, all different, then you realize you had the word all along. I just say TY and don't admit I was a moron.
Looking for words you already have.
di 7:32 shorten the 9:66
Maybe you all know I am a moron anyway.
ah. btdt. :-)
hardly scrabbler. :-)
maybe we should all confess in Babbler's Anonymous.. make a good topic!
I beg to differ scrabbler, hardly
looking for words you already have is an ego booster; they are so much easir to find
I want a lawyer!
but it might scare away newbies, fearing that Babble will scramble their brain cells beyond repair
I find it an endearing term--I call myself a moron a lot, and laugh.
lol true
Good morning!
di 7:36 = di 5:12 then add to it
negative chatter is so negative
Hi Mom!!!!
doofus is a good term too... hi, Mom
no no - i enjoy babble - no scrambling there - just wish I were as quick witted
Hi Annie
hi mom
Hi Aloy
Hi Wolvie
Hi Kentucky Mom!

Hi mom
Hi Scrabbler
Hi Lori
hey, mom :-)
aloy - but wont that happen anyway?? Surely by not doing that we are lulling them into a false sense of security? Oh dear, its all getting too deep for a Saturday afternoon. Wheres the cofffee?

Oh, Une, I just looked at your icon and lost my appetite for breakfa**.
scrabbler!
I am not a fan.
***averts eyes***
rolin - this has been a bad sort of grid for me - lots of 4 letter words, and i blow right by those. ;-)
well scrabbler - she is better than newt. ;-0
But it is a cute and clever icon.
:-D
oh 4 letter words are what keep me going while looking for the big ones...if i didnt have those to find...id feel totally useless
I have many 4 letter words while Babbling, most aren't kind....
LOL Lori
Lori, found or said four letter words?
now, now, Lori
I have Bunny Callie sitting in the chair next to me, I need all of the help I can get

Scrab, Is Callie getting the 8's and 7's?
No "todger", and no "toto". Dorothy's gonna be gutted, they were two of her favourite things.

TO...
i looked. i am not worthy...
It's okay, TO, just think that if you work hard and neglect your housework and all other responsibilities, you too can achieve greatness.
now i will ave to take up sudoku
*shudder*
I'm shuddering along with you. Just blame the drugs TO - and when it comes to compensation, point out the mental distress your babble rankings plummet has caused you. It'll rake in thousands.
whom do i sue? mr dr? dr god? LOL
Did somebody not bump into you in a supermarket?
Back.
actually i do wonder if the drug effect is cumulative it seeemed to get stronger as i went on
yes. and target's insurance dogs had the nerve to call me and ask if i intended to "place a claim" against them
And are you going to? I'll fly over as a witness for you.
that was quick Leigh
I'm a speed demon.
anot being well versed in sscallwagggery, i told them i intedned to concentrate on getting well
And TO, if you need a witness, I'm much closer than Haz. Though possibly less believable.
but i will sue becasue mytyping has gotten even worse ; )
and being a true american, my two doctors and doctor god must be named also ; )
I've been witness to the distress, and you're right, TO, the typing is in the realms of the interesting.
I am back--hi Hazel, TO, ren8, leigh..et al. Leigh--one of my sisters lives in Montvale and she has friends in Ramsey.
Hello Scrabbler.
hello again Scrabbler
yes and you are going to visit her and tell us when, right?
Hello Scrabbler. I like Ramsey. And this school is a good school.
are you still here ExWren
I will serve as an expert witness for you, TO. Do you know a little 9 or10 yr old named Nicholas H?
Yes, TO--that would be fun!
me? or leigh?
scrabs i have suffered great emotional distress. i fell aslepp again at 815 ithout fnishing and my rating is in the toilet
For Leigh
Oh, TO, that ups the potential compensation
to w ich haz will attest as she reminds me every day
leigh--know a kid named Nicholas H in Ramsey?
Scrab- I don't know anyone by that name, sorry. I'll be in a catholic school.
no one haz EVER come back from such a deficit in the history of babble
Yes, in the toilet, down the pan, worse than useless. Not like me....
TO, your lowered rating has far-reaching, global consequences!
Should I look at my rating?
just where did I leave my hip boots; and boat?
it is shamelful. i think i will go get a choclate cake and eat the entire thing.
The way you guys talk, I'm afraid to know what my rating is these days...
Flooding, BR?
TO- Don't do it!!!!!! Save some for me!
Eating, esp chocolate, always helps me deal with my emotions
leigh they are taking advantage of my competitive nature and type a personality
Probably not as bad as TO's. It's far worse to start and not finish a grid than to not start at all.
mmmmmmmmm wegmans.......
afternoon peeps. Is it just me or is it a rotten grid today?
If I owned a far implement business, likely I coud sell dr god a manure spreader

Willow Grove. Hmm. No idea. =)

It's not her fault, Hazel, it was the drugs!

1st is the autobiographer, second the mitosis and 3rd is the twisting
Okay... *searching hard* Thank you, hoot!
Arggggh! Thank you very much! You're a hoot, owl.
People (well some) like to write about their lives in a di*** - they di 7/32

Small fish. I didn't see til 3rd trip thru
thx Scarlet, I din't know the past tense was a word...but this is Babble!
I'll pull a goldfish from the aquarium and use it
LOL, PAV3... it's Babbleland... abandon all reason and forget the rules of grammar!
Babble encourages the misuse of the language. ALWAYs try pluals, past tenses and whatever that no one else ises!
Right, hoot... when I started this in October, I tried being rational and using what I had learned in life. HAH!
That's it! Can't write a coherent sentence. Going bye-bye. Back at flip. Have a great day/night/whatever everyone bye
I still think it would be a lot better if this game could use a standard dictionary
I have 2 di's 7 & 9 but only showing as 1/4 on the tile stats???

YW, mymuse!
Hi Miss Scarlet.
Did you xc today, Scrabs?
hi scrabbler
I was goingt to head out for the trail, to check on conditions, as I expected soft snow, then it started raining.
I'm off to make lunch -- back at the flip -- bye everyone :)
Bye, cybernan. Thank you for all the clues.
Hi muse--how are you doing today?
anyone seen or heard from Hurshy yet?
hello everyone
ge4x 3, ge 5x1, ge6 x2, go4 x3, go5 x 1, go6x1, missing?
hi freckle?
Yes, she is staying where she is, to sort out what seems right. She was here earlier today.
Hello, Freckle. New to Babbling?
Hi Scrabb, trying to get my last 33 before I head off to my son's school function early tonight
Hello Freckle.
No haven't played in a while
That's probably a good idea on her part
Yes it has been a long time freckle!
53 to go for me--tough even with the list.
This is fun grid to get back in harness, Freckle.
BTW -- was doing a search on google yesterday -- did you know that Google picks up our remarks in the chat and lists them?
lol, really?
Really? Why?
Yes, I have seen that. Spooky, huh?
ge4x 3, ge 5x1, ge6 x2, go4 x3, go5 x 1, go6x1, missing?
Lists them under what search engine, Nan?
Another ge6
thanks scrab
I'm laughing, cybernan... I meant what search? Babble?
I think it was when I looked for a "Babble" icon--up came stuff from chats
en6/21 and en/36?
Isn't that interesting... and we are repeat-able??
en + tr5 (Trick or Tr***)
it picks up certain key words and when you do a search using one of the keywords the remarks from babble come up. If Dr. G has the chat box as a separate document, he should be able to enter a meta tag that will stop this from happening. I wonder?
I don't have the en7's yet
en6,7 en + when you go on a **** to cut calories, swap last two letters
then make past tense
That's an odd one, cybernan. Must start dinner for the love of my life. Be back later.
TY, muse--I never heard of those words before
Scrabbler, I have tha-it's an en7/28. I want the one ahead of it
l8r Scarlet
Muse just clued them, hetty
Just for general info: If you are posting a document with photos or whatever that you don't want available to the public add the following meta tag within the head:
<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">
Thanks, muse. Why couldn't I find those?
hey freckle
So where do we put those words, Nan?
Hi Freckle--feeling ignored?
at the top of the document -- should look like this:
waiting with baited breath
Cybernan is showing us why she is named Cybernan
lol, probably same reason why I can't find the 5 other e words
I can't find those either, muse
mymuse, there are four words which relate to my former profession in newspapering!
help - need clue for FA 7/44

Thank you very much, cybernan. It may come in handy.
Hi TNC, Cybernan is giving us a cyber lesson, and I took notes, but I don't get it at all. But I know it is important!

It is in the 40's here, but dark and rainy

Santa Claus is real, and so is the Easter Bunny, but I have never had a Babble Elf in my house, Doren.
well scrabs, if I leave the computer for a while, then come back and find I have 10-20 words less left to go, it HAS to be a babble elf, no?
the blob's about to get the mechanic on the floor
they may not visit everyone... then again, maybe you were naughty and not nice????? oh no, that's santa claus.
Has the Blob gone to the movie theater yet?
the blob is a claret color
not yet
my elves tend to be stupid....but then again I think they are 7 and 8 so that makes them smart for their ages
Scrabbler, maybe Santa will bring you a Babble Elf.. if you are good.. lol, back for more Babbling with a late lunch
oi plus Spanish day don' t work, muse
that was the scene that flipped me out. having it come thru the movie windows
I saw the original Blob in 1958 in the movie theatr in downtown Hackensack, NJ...

hi smaller and aloy

Dorens, do you still live in Bergen Co.?
10 months apart, yowza... that's more like buy one, get one free
oh, ren have another one for ya too, matches your ending theme
Wurdy... there's the rub. Clearance elves aren't that great. I got mine on ebay and I think they were used pretty much up by the time i got them
yeah, I think one is a bit .... wht is the correct term? slow
ended up in Morris County, but my mom lives in Hackensack

the vet at the shelter thinks she may have 6 or 7 babies
I think the idea of the 7 dwarves is the cutest.

TY, Stid--I am looking on the Firefox site
I understand the time change has more to do with the operating system that the brower
vista and I think xp with make the change automatically
Oh, BR, so I should go to Microsoft
olders ops may have to change the time manually
you may be right BR -- I have my linux set to check the world clock, not sure what windows is set to do. I hate windows and only use it because a couple of the programs I need aren't available in linux
what op do you have?
even if my computer is several years old Babble Rabble, I use Windows XP
Nm BR you just answered my question

peri, past tense of the 4/5 before it
well, then zoning is understandable! I think being "da boss" is really stressful... I'd rather be the one just getting the tasks done and leave the coordinating to others.
It is a good idea to go there
there is a HUGE robin outside my window! I swear this thing is half as big as a seagull!

FA7/44?
my 15 y.o. daughter is behind the wheel practicing driving with her daddy.
I am a nervous wreck
Around here that's even too young for a learner's permit.
fa7/44 is the name of the comic by Gary Larson
Thanks. Great hint. Got it right away.
it should be too young for a permit here, too - but I want her to have at least a year of practice before she gets her license. I'm just real chicken to drive with her, lol
I got my permit when I was 15&license when I was 16
same here, min
How about the 1st FA5/18?
illinois is planning on changing the rules for young drivers - they will have a graduated license and soon will pass law that says they must have permit for at least 9 months before they can get license.
fa5/18 is like slapstick theatre, change the last vowel.
language spoken in middle east, minski
I didn't get my license until I was almost 17. Kept failing the test.
fa 5/18 is fa + hook letter + half circle letter + vowel
Thanks. Got it.

Actually, I need the first di 5/14 word if you have it.
minski where on the Cape do you live?
old english for past tense of do
One of my top 10 places on the planet
My family has a place in Wing's Neck, Pocasset not far from Kingman's Marina.
not sure where that's at - I've been to a friends home in chatham several times.
Chatham is in the elbow of the cape. We are closer to the bridges.
oh gotcha - you are probably closer to hyannisport (sp!)
Actually, we are closer to Bourne.
okie dokie, I need the da 5/12 please! :-)
I could move there tomorrow if there was a way of making a living. Oh I know where Bourne is.
da+ t***k or tr5.10
da5/14 is da + *** Springfield with snake letter at end
thre is no 5,12 but there's a da 5, 14. stid
It's still beautiful. It is on a quieter less popular part of the cape. My grandfather bought the land in the 40's when that was the popular part of the cape.
thanks! :-)
OK. I give. EN7/28?

hey anyone have the cr6/21?
The de 7/36 word is de 4/5 + robot ending stidmama.
