hi all!
does anyone watch that show where they go through the wormhole to other planets & the spin-off st**ga** atlantis - shouldn't that be a word?
like they don't exist or something!
111
112
never knew the tr 7 could be a plural hmmm
yes helen that should be a word
' DrB, did you start with that upper part with all'
' DrB, did you start with that upper part with all'

Family are all fine -- all happy and sleeping except for me
hi jac!

tx drb!
ornith
how many you got jay?
jayr -- a phantom is a word that looks like it should be in the grid but isn't
aegis
ty ornith i now understand. cheers.
whoops, good thing that wasn't in the puzzle
in8
Wh are you not happy and sleeping, Wolfie?
Halfway
it is with one less letter ornith. :-)
Stress of working etc?
I am happy but am not sleeping cos I saw everyone racing when I decided to check the new grid before turning in
thanks Fran, didn't know that variant.
Hi againm Hell!
I just got sucked up in the wake of everyone else's Babble-thusiasm :-D
hiya jac!
hey wolfie, seb is in the grid. :-)
Wolfie - Ah, I see. I did the same after turning in and getting up again.
so I see, Fran, but not worth any points :(
wow, this puzzle is massive
did someone say re7/8 combo?
wonder why the st 9 can't be plural, if the tr 6 can be??
2 of them now
which one fran?
i guess that answers my question. :-)
Because the tr is people and the st isn't
whee got the 9 :)
hi melon!
hey, Fran.
yay got the re8/9
ty DR totally missed that
8/9s, that is. thanks!
I teach those playwrights
Hi jilli - message from Flo ---- Shaw is off for her till 9 Am tomorrow. They are doing some service things???
re 7 x 2; re 8 x 2
melon - you crack me up! your icon, lol
slowing down a little -- took 10 more mins to get to 109
cool DR

bach cracks you up???
ca 7/8/8
oops re 7 x 3; re 8 x 3
HI fran
and another 7 with those cas

hi dilly -- thanks for the message -- how frustrating for flo!
thanks doc!
*opens babble chat room door* creeeeeaaaaaakkkkk
hi mamabear!
hiya mama!
good evening, all! ever switch over to a puzzle after the flip, see the number of words and think "it might as well be 100 zillion?" quickly followed by the thought "But if i get started now, i should be able to finished before I go to work tomorrow"
oh, that was from back on the 21st - too lazy to look for another.
{{{****MAMA!!!!****}}}
heya Fran, helen!!!!!
happens to me all the time, knut ;-D
Yes it is!! Glad I caught you - this is too big for me -285 jndeed!!

shalom arb
Hi Helen Shalom Melon

bye steph!
bye steph
shalom Jili
bye steph!
so long steph Hi ARB
hmm... jai... she's doing okay. lots of drama, she hardly ever plays anymore at least that i know of.
thanks dee! found that 3rd re7/8 combo
great!!!
hi Grey Wolf
knut - hope she's ok, tell her she's missed & her awesome cluing too!
i'll pass it along, she'll love hearing that. the last few months have been rough for her, although she keeps on trucking through it all.
she has more strength than she gives herself credit for.
flip :p also hello
hey blue
hi blue
hi blue!
knut, give jai my best also, miss seeing her in the chat.
has anyone looked at lickety's clues? my beginning two letters are all incorrect??
is babble being really slow for anyone else?
yay! finally greyed something out besides a 1!
haven't been there to check yet, Dee -- I haven't hit the halfway mark yet
i certainly will. :-) i'll be talking to her in the morning, she hasn't gotten the full livia update from Livia's first birthday
Hello everyone...
over halfway here... let me know when you check them if yours are goofy
hey douglas!
hello douglas
howdy douglas, blue!
morning Doug
will do, Dee
will do, Dee
Hello Fran, blue, knut, Grey...
ty
wow - your baby is already a year old! wow! happy b-day to our babblebaby
volley, try refreshing?
123 words in, 14 7s, 7 8s, and the 9 - tim eto look at lickety. VMD, they look OK to me. you may need to refresh.
Dee, yes they are goofy and with words filled in that are from yesterday, I think
volley, try refreshing?
I think I will reboot.
I think the stats are correct but the beginning 2 letters are all wrong
:-) thank you. amazing to me as well. my picture is from the day before her birthday. she got some adorable spring dresses from her great-grandma so I had to take her pcitures in them.
103 words left and my sanity is gone. night everyone
night dawg!
lord that top right is full of stuff
good nite lbd
Oh dear, that's a lot of words...
i am going to take a break too, 92 left & beat
31 in 3 minutes almost all from up there
g'night hk!
bye helen!
I've got 150/135 left. would probably be further if babble wasn't taking 30 seconds every time I typed in a word :(
ornith, i've found when that happens, the best thing to do is restart your computer, the scripts have clogged up your memory.
knut -- seeing as how Seb and Livia are both Babble babies, we should try to get them together, whattya think?
not sure why there isn't a ca 9, since they accepted the ca 8... another hmmmm DR
babble baby love..... awwwww
nothing else is being slow, though! guess I'll try it anyway though
falling asleep already with o9nly 80 woprds so far..
Seb will have to arm wrestle livia's current boyfriend :-) Also a babble baby, although his mum doesn't chat
Back again after rebooting -- that solved the problem with Lickety's llist.
going to bed jilli?
as you can see from my typing :(
i thought it was just in code jilli.
:-)
ty AR for the info
that's fine with me, knut -- dealing with Kristianna and her 'boyfriend' is one relationship more than I want to deal with at this point anyway ;-D
can I get a clue for the re8 and 9 pls?
yes, fran -- anyone want a piece of Elton's cake?
the 9 is st9/72 hugs, armies have to be this
of course, how old is he?
jilli, it's too pretty to cut up.
oh... thanks Fran
4 s's certainly help here
great icon harp! i'm surprised the glasses fit in the picture. :-)
of course, your Seb is likely better behaved, everytime we go over to david's house, he takes some piece of clothing off Livia! (silly 1 year olds)
Sounds suspicious to me knut...
whe - got the st 8/50. actually guessed it was in the grid - found it after the fact.
FRan -- too retty to cut up -- does taht fit Elton?
LOL -- gotta love those 1 yo's
He's definitely a shifty character. ;-)
thanks, i'm going to see Elton John's Aida next week so I'm in the mood!]
too pretty... oh yes, definitely bedtime
Of course, Seb does have his sister to help keep him in line (sort of...)
115 found and going back to bed now. Plenty of time later to find words, Happy Babblin.
night jac!
so long, Jac -- see you soon
hi jac, bye jac
and definitely slowing down here -- up to 150 after another 25 mins of hunting
Mama -- why so quiet?
not quite mediocre - but i did get halfway with all the 8s + 9, have 18 of 28 7s, but too tired to continue. laila tov all. {poof}
dunno.......
I am not liking the curve on my hunting -- at this pace, I will still be under the wire to finish even with the early start :-D
night melon!
laila tov melon
I need to dive into the puzzle myself.
have 118 since coming on though......
did anyone say ta7 yet?
Farewell, melon
finally found the ca7
I don't think so Fran, but I just found it
so i went from alice in chains and ac/dc and whatnot last night to "20 years of narada piano" tonight
not sure which is more conducive to babbling
cool hugs
any hints fran... struggling with the ch 7 / 40
dozing off.. bye... *poof*
that is my only weak point right now -- I only have 4 eah of the 7 and 8's -- but at least I have the 9
and it was false advertising too...the album wasn't even close to being 20 years long
g'nite jilli
dee, i don't have the ch7/40, i have ca7/40
blue, that's a really big jump in genres! :-)
night jilli!
I have ca7/40 x 2
oops sorry
yeah...narada really puts out some beautiful songs though
and a ca8/55
ca7/40 x 3
hugs, there are two ca8/55s
Bach gets my logical juices flowing...I've just put on the Goldberg Variations...
got them now
HELP. Went to Lickity. The new list comes up, BUT it fills in the list with my words from yesterday. I refreshed, and rebooted the computer. Any ideas?
missing one more 8
dee, is there a ch7/40?
found it was looking the wrong direction
yes
yes
pigeon, throw away the cookie
there's a ch7/44
eh...this is all contemporary pianists, david lanz and michael jones and spencer brewer and the like
I just got a ch7/44
Have you ever listened to Keith Jarrett, blue?
thanks hugs and douglas...*searching*
not that i can recall no
man, rebooted, had to try several times just to get the page to load, and still really slow :(
Fantastic jazz pianist, also plays classical and early music...
wooow. i just spent 15 minutes trying to figure out be5,18 and 6,30 and it was the first thing i should have tried. terrible.
looks like I'm done for the night. boo. hopefully it will behave after church tomorrow... night all
ornith, i won't be surprised if we crash some time soon then.
night ornith!
this isn't really my usual fare (though i am a fan of david lanz), i was just browsing through my winamp and went "oh, there's something i haven't listened to yet"
thanks scv, there's a second be5/18 also.
which happens when you've got 5300+ files totalling 17 and a half days of music
surprisingly, i had the other. which is why i felt silly about missing that.
oh, and my lickety's is messed up too :( really goodnight now
Strange -- but I have no probs with Babble lagging at all, nor is Lickety mixed up for me -- and all I did was reload both pages when I came on earlier
I'm trying to get my brain around 17 and a half days of music...
working fine on this end too, dunno what to tell you
lickety isn't messed up for me really.. just the letters already placed in the word boxes dont match up with the clues. i suspect theyre the letters from yesterday, so i understand how people have yesterdays list there
but nothing's checked. so no harm.
i just deleted 9 gigs of files that i was "holding" for my husband, i'm left with 3100+ or 8.9 days worth
the stats are all correct
finally got my icon
it's partly me being a packrat, and partly the fact that campus internet in louisville is ridiculously fast
Hmmm.... since I don't actually use Lickety except to view the printable list, I wouldn't be able to comment on that
nice hk! i think it would have been great to have seen him in his prime too.
I saw him in the 90s also.
fran - kick myself for not going to see him then
I had operating system issues with my computer a few months back --- and somehow lost my entire music collection after I had just finished transferring all my CD's to the computer --- just over 8 days worth of music too! 8-(
he was famous for jumping around all over the stage
you probably had more of an opportunity, i was in Guam!
morning (at least for me) everyone
hiya judy!
hi judy!
well, i have 90 left - i'm going to call it a night here
Hello Judy!
Hiya Fran, HK & GW!
good nite everyone
wtg helen! see you tomorrow
nite HK
Hi Judy!!! so long, helen
isn't a little late for you GW? Or did you just get the kids to bed?
see you later helen...
Hiya Doug@
*!
She's got huge...****** of land...
Well, it's like this -- I was gonna go to bed, but Kirsten pointed out that I could check the grid before turning in due to the time. Then when I got here, the log was filled with people talking about how quickly they were finding words, so I just sorta got sucked into the grid and haven't left yet
'Sides, Seb is due to wake up any minute now
I'm familiar with how the grids "suck you in"! LOL
Sometimes a ***** is just a *****
and sometimes it's a big brown **** (not a clue, just some carlin)
phantom athiest...
While there are a lot of words in this grid, there are also three words in rows or columns...
there are four, but only three count for the row/column
phantom -- nictate
I'm really wanting a long word to end that way...
ac 5/12
I don't have that one either, carra...
yeah i skipped it
ac + opp of out + vowel
thanks hugs...
yw :o)
ty!
"carge" was not found in the dictionary <-- but that's the thing you hook the hoss up to!
tr 5/14
lol blue
g'nite all - -the call of the bed has become stronger than that of the grid -- I have 105 left to find and feel good about it :-)
{{{***Hugs for all***}}} TTFN
night wolfie!
sweet dreams, gw...
nite'all..... 98 left here....... *waving*
{{{bear hugs}}}}} to all
goodnight mama and GW
Good night mama...

but more than likely that sombrero will never be seen again
of course. Lways.
and it makes me rehate the wind
phantom aegis
that was the first thing in the puzzle that caught my eye
just greyed the bottom row and got an ni7
drop a letter, Doug, and it's an alternate spelling

finally found a word not in the grid
hi babrab!
right row greyed... down to 30 now
was i the only one that crashed just then?
there's always a hiccup at 2:00 am grid time blue
nope
hi shannon!
heh, guess that means i'm usually gone by that time
hi, I'm trying to tear myself away from here so I can go to sleep.
ditto.
sounds like us
bi 5/20
Is it too early to ask for a clue?
how many word are you at?
194
nice. we're working together and have 155.
good job...better than us
bi 5/20 sounds like what an insect does without the s

very nice
ca7/36 anyone?
blue, it's like a word for someone who takes your money at a store, but drop the first S
ca7 is the plural
did you get it blue? or did i confuse you? it's a strange word
must be, hehe
I got it - thanks for reminding me of that one Fran. Hello everyone
money is called cash, the person who takes your money at a store is a cash***, drop the S for the ca6 then make it plural for a ca7
hi lynxxx!
heh, i'd have sworn i tried that, thanks
Hey Fran - AngB is back - was on last nite
yw blue
yes, she was on earlier in the week also
i meant to tell you we hadn't lost her. :-)
i'll be right back
morning all
good morning MVA
Someone using my name in vain? Just came in to see how many words in the grid! LOL 285!!!!
hi mva!
hi angb!
Hey Ang !
hi lynxxx, fran and ang
Hi Fran - phew should I start this one? Lynxxx old mate and MVA
Sorry less of the old lynxxx
Morning MVA
this is a fun one, goes really quickly and has lots of great endings, i say go for it
hi jfb! how goes it?
rightly so! the words are pouring out for me but, then, haven't been playing long
You're on.
OK MVA - just over half way on grid
i've only been on 5 mins so not that far!! love your icon!!
Did it for Mothering Sunday
gm all
morning Iain
i would if i could jfb!
hi Iain!
morning iain, how's your hand and how did you do it if that's not too rude?
hi iain
hello Iain
bah, i've been looking for 10 minutes for a word i already had, i'm still short a ca after all
gm mva, still sore, whilst fixing a fence panel i slid down a steep bank . i grabbed onto a tree but got it wrong and opened up my hand a little. ten stitches, lots of ouch etc
got it yay
ouch Iain - sounds nasty
hope it's not as nasty as it sounds!
my sister opened her hand, she got distracted while chopping food, 8 stitches i think
it did look horrible but once cleaned it improved. an 'L' shaped hole about 3 inches long. the nurse had alook at my tendon but would not let me have a peek
no need to look, trust the nurses!!
are you off work because of it?
Time for breakfast - bbl
bye jfb
yes mva but i am self employed so no extra income
fireworks!
congrats!
how awfuliain
congrats franmag
congrtas fran
Hooray for Fran !
got the list out early, i won't have time to babble tomorrow.
morning all..big grid...and i have work to do this am...ah well...ill just have to be disciplined
nothing really strange in the grid today, i think that ca6/7 combo was the weirdest.
hi rolin!
man
How many words tonight?
285 hun
285 amiku
Hi Rolin and Amiku
Hey lyxxx
can i offer a clue before i leave?
Baaahhh
hi amiku, hi rolin

gn fran
goodnight Fran
nite fran
been sitting here working on the m's - and greyed. wow
nite fran
woohoo...i found the 9 all by myself
LOL so did I Rolin! most unusual for me!
see..practice lynxxx... thats what it is.....(ok you and i know its really just luck)..lol
absolutely !
I was getting excited, I thought i saw shagging. but alas, i didn't/.
Ang - have you met your fellow islander Amiku
steady amiku think of the blood pressure
I don't believe we have.
Hush, Iain. I'm not that frail until next year ;)
no - amiku are you grom nz?
*from
Ang: unfortunately.
unfortunately ?
Yes, unfortunately.
oh dear swop you amiku it cant ber as bad as here in uk
she would know
thx iain!
Iain: lived there too,.
Probably why it's so crap. Coz you know, I left.
iain... the uk is a great place to be...
so what is bad about nz it looks great
Iain: lots of inbreds and sheep.
it is iain
rolin uk could be wonderful but when income goes up by 2% and bills go up by 10% it does grate a bit
but thats the same evrywhere iain...since ive left aus....the dream of so many brits... the cost of living has skyrocketed...
amiku that could be said about several places
when i forst came here...the rpice of meat was so much more that aus...but now aus has caught up with us
Iain: theres a sign on the way into my town that says "Inbreds --->"
is ir grass always beibg greener etc
So I guess you
phantom: ghey.
(sorry pressed enter early) so Amiku I guess we shall see you in Aust in a few years - all NZ's seem to come here when they start their working careers
mind you they all talk very fondly of NZ - and I am sure they all go back eventually
lol...spoken like a true aussie lynxxxx.
lynxxx: maybe... I'm thinking about going back to Europe
why amiku?
yes, why amiku? :D
MVA: I like Europe. It's not so isolated, but it's not in the middle of the world's market place either.
phantom geisha
phantom: chastity.
phantom haggis, mmm
Where is the world's marketplace?
Why the hell would anyone call their child Chastity?
Ang: certainly not here.
i don't know...you have a predilection for naming a kid after the one responsible for the fall of man though ;)
Unless you're buying wine/red meat
i asked because a lot of people i know dream of leaving europe and living in aus or nz
angb... did you watch the aussie/s.a. cricket yesterday?
Shut up, Daniel.
Wine - red meat - what else do you need?
hehe
AProbably when they older MVA. the lure of Europe is very strong for young people in Aust & NZ - so much to see and do.
Ang: a game not for the whole family ;)
worse is that i went along with it without thinking about that :p
No I didn't rolin. I tried to get it online b ut couldn';t work the site
i watched a little on a mate's sky channel... augers well for the final
lynxxx: I've seen Europe already
i'm taking off, leaving 92 for later
amiku...how long did you spend in europe?
bye bluesoul
bye.
:P
even young people lynxx, so much to seeand do in aus and nz!
bye bluesoul
I know Amiku...I am talking generally about young people down here. Doing Eorope seems almost compulsory now
come see lions...only in kenya...come to kenya we've got lions! :D
Lions and tigers only in kenya.
Kenya believe it.
YOU GOT IT STUCK IN MY HEAD YOU BASTARD.
hehehe
you still love me though right? D:
amiku...how long did you spend in europe?
No.
morning Babblers :)
D:
rolin: I grew up in the UK so i was there all the time.
hey sherb
Hi Sherb
i'm going to go to bed and cry a salt mine
gm sherb
hi sherb
You go do that, emo kid.
Hey Sherb.
hi sherb
oh cool..
lotsa ppl down under come over to europe for a 45 day bus tour and go home saying...well ive done europe now...lol
clocks go forward and half the morning's gone already...
you obviously 'missed the bus' Rolin
lol... on the contrary lynxxx... im not 'doing' europe... im living it...
ok...im halfway...i better go do some domnestics..and then some school work..bbl..
got to go breakfast time, bbl
must go puppy to walk etc
later rolin and MVA :)

in7.40 & 8.55
ok, thanks guys - my answers from yesterday have made it across to today's but the grid has changed. Perhaps I'll grab another cup of coffee and see if that helps :)

hi sherb
He must get treatment. I ignored mine and 20 years on have a terribly bad neck and it's costing me a fortune at the chiropractor
Quite a good grid today, words have been flowing (til now), 70 still to go
so sorry ti here that Kazz.. Hi Eva
Hi sherb and everyone. Sorry, I just butted in without saing hello.
i think we will go tomorrow - the insurance iscoming to look at the damage tomorrow - thing is we've only had the car 3 weeks!
That's awful.
oh no...what a shame...
oh no Kazz :( thats awful. always happens though. someone bumped into me *4 days* after I got my new car!
That really sucks,Kazz. Good luck...:}
{{Kazzer}}
I'm glad I don't drive! I bought a car intending to have lessons, and that's when it got shunted and I got my whiplash.
oooh i cant imagine not being able to drive
thanks guys - its nice to talk to folks outside of it - still we went to the meal and wished our friend happy 40th
I am having that same problem with lickety's list refreshing doesn't help any suggestions? I have also closed and opened it
sorry about your car Kazzer hope you feel better
i cant drive and this is putting me off even more - this is the second accident we've had like this. The first one was nearly 8 years ago but that was an articulated lorry and it wiped the side of the car off on my side as well as hitting in the rear 3 times
Hi all. This is my first time here.
hi mazeli
welcome mazeli....
I'm never going to learn now. Living ikn London, you don't need a car. If I move out, it'll have to be a moped. I'll be a ton-up granny.
Ty- can I ask - if i log out will it save what i have done so far so i can come back to the game later
Hi Mazeli. I hope you'll like us all enough to become a regular. Where are you from?
lol...my daughter can drive..but like you she lives in london and doesnt need a car particularly
good morning Maseli and welcome......:)
Hi Mazeli, Kazzer, Eva, Hydra etal. Bad news Hydra

Hi lynxxx. Nice place, Birmingham. I like it there every time I go.
hello everyone -i hate it when the clocks go forward i feel disorientated.
Hi pinkhat. I was too hungover to notice.
Hi,join the club pink.
only been to Birmingham once (played in a football 5-a-side tornament at the NEC about 18 years ago)
they made us turn ours forward way early this year
Hi Pink
Did you win Ishutt?
It will be great tonight though when its still light at 7pm

Ty Eva
hello hydra, hodag and lynxxx
yw)-:
i'm having trouble with the st9. any clues?
Eva,lol...:}
morning all
st9=the most st5/14
morning sprite :)
good morning Sprite
st9 - not ta4-ical, but st9...
howdy sprite
morning sprite
thx sherb!
am i the only one experiencing problems with lickety's word list? i have today's grid with yesterday's word list. How weird!
sect
someone else had that earlyer
oops, sorry
hi everyone
hi Andree :)
morning andree
good evening Andree
sherb-don't get that clue for the 9?
pink when that happens if you close lickety then open again you should get todays list
howdy Andree
i done that andree and it was same when i re opened the page. i dont know whats going on with my computer. im sure it has a mind of its own!
did you force-refresh, pink?
yhe same thing happened to me
st9.72 - made st9.72 plans for business/war etc
hmmm-tried that but must be a different spelling
yes i did sprite, my computer is rebeling because i left it on by mistake last night.
got it! Thanks
Eva - last 3 letters are as ma5.18
I hate it when they do that. Computers are like cars. They must do what you want whenever you want, and not try to think for themselves.
I am having trouble with lickety too. Today's grid with yesterdays list. It opens with todays clues then changes. Any help??
For 8sI have 2xca, 1 x ge, 1x in, 1 x ma, 3 x re. First letter for last 8 plz ?
thanks for the 9
I need to go and get dressed... back later for the last 50...
bye sherb
i strongly agree with you sprite. i wish men would do the same!
bye sherb
Thnx for the 9 lynxxx - had long phone call with best friend - back now for a wee while
oh yes, definitely :D
anike i have the same problem im goona leave it for a while and try lickety later on
Later Sherb :)
*meant gonna*
Mazeli - st8.50
I've already tried several times with the same result
thx lyn
lickety is only bad until you hit the "re"'s...then it's fine!
Anike is your computer rebeling against you too?
I believe there is a contact on Licketys page - you could contact him via that perhaps
so I can sh4/7 someone but I cannot to it again? Where did monogamy go?
*do
my lickety list is functioning as it should so i'll be back in a while *poof*
you can sh** again and again..try it!
whoo - got all 9/8s. better go get dressed now!!
not according to enable!
good morning fellow babblers
hi Sheryl
morning sprtie
Hi Sheryl
big on today
Hi Sheryl
morning hodag
hey lynxxx
My lickety is now working - i emptied my cache and reset the browser then resigned in
don't know what i would do without lickety
probably never finish a puzzle
morning all again...done some more work..time for a babble reward
welcome back rolin
hey rolin *hug*
i have 3 boxes with only one more to find..so makes me wanna resort to the list...but im not 2/3's there yet... so i shall be strong
WELCOME BACK girlfriend...........:)
wow rolin, i have found 104 words and am seriously thinking it is time for the list, lol
well i try to maintain some semblance of discipline..i use the 2/3 'rule' to try and make myself more determined
so i have 7 words to go til i get there
good for you, first real sign of stress for me and it is off to the list, try to make this fun for myself not punishment, lol
yay rolin :)
dont go anywhere sprite..im gonna be lookin' for clues any moment now..lol
lol, you're welcome to those I can give, but I am not yet finished ;)
im missing an 'a'... i have ac 4/5 x 2, ag4/6 x 3, g5/14, ar4/4 & at4/4
ac5/12, comes in between the 4s.
ty monkeyed it
lol, was just thinking I could give a real babble clue for that one... ac + hairy nosed dolphin minus last letter
(and of course this is where my determination is really a farce...cos...whats the difference between geting the clue from you...and going to the list?)...but hey..delusion is not all bad...lol
there is a difference! I give one clue, the list gives them all ;)
Hello, all Goedemorgen, sprite
hi BabbleRabble, goedemiddag :)
a neat rationalisation...i shall conwith that in mind...loltinue
hello BabbleR
oops..keyboard hiccup
Time to start my day or just kick back until the ickys go away.....bye guys.
hey lynxx..with the change of clocks...you can be around more..cool..
cyas hodag..i hope you feel better soon
bye ho
Bye Hodag
any clues for the solitary s in the first column
kazzer..the most retiring
i am always disorientated by the time change so will go to bed, goodnight and happy babbling
Hello Babble Team. I have some time to play before I go to work.
night Andree, I know the feeling :)
sleep well andree
hey Scrabbler
ty rolin
TY Rolin
nite Andree - sleep well
is there only one ry?
yes rolin
sh 4/5 -- pronoun that sounds like a contraction
Oo, that right upper corner is the mother lode.
ok..so i need one more re.....
there is 2 re4.6 rolin
that's a very gentle icon today, BabbleRabble! Such soft colours :)
is there now...
that was weird, I just went to get the clues from licketys and all the boxes were checked, hmmm
thought i had finished the puzzle without even realizing it, lol
Hi BR--beautiful icon--it looks like a waterfall area near here
cheers lynxxx..that was the one..
So, Sheryl--fireworks, right?
Yes. Mayhap my moods (or moodiness) influence my selections
ok..seems i might be being made a better offer.... i may be away from the keyboard for a while..*wiggling eyebrows*...
LOL, one of my sisters uses the blended word "mayhaps"
have fun Rolin!!
I wish scrabbler, 165 left, lol
rolin----whoaaaaa
probably :) I am trying to let my mood be softened by those colours, lol. There is only one thing worse than DST: getting up early for aikido lessons and having to wait for the teacher to show up, who forgot about DST.
yay rolin, enjoy ;)
ca 8/55; ca 8/55 ge 8/50 in 8/55 ma 8/55 re 8/50; re 8/40; re 8/40 st 8/50; st 9/72
Are some of those compound words, BR?
whoa - morning all - biggie today
hi Wolvie
Hi Wolvie
No Scrabbler
Hi Wolvie
I don't think so, Scrabbler. Some with prefix though.
TY, lynxx, but I just found ma8
Sorry, Scrabbler. Was doing a Kenny Rogers and checking what condition my condition was in ....
lol
LOL--so how is your condition?
At the moment I am somewhat ambivalent
About______?
if you managed to make up your mind that you are ambivalent, you might not be
nice icon today babble
I found 1 ca8--is the other one related?
only in form, Scrabbler, and only a little.
Each day is an opportunity. Some days more than others are a test of resolve.
Thanks, Wolvie and good morning to you.
so true BR!
:-)
Scrabbler: one is a plural, one is a comparative
Ah, the comparative--that's it
sorry about the confusion, I was looking at the Ca7s, not the 8s. :(
Anybody seen Jacula lately??
no, was just thinking about her
noo - now that you mention it, I haven't
yes, Jac's been around a good bit
oh good - and hi ata
ah ok, good
hi Ata :)
Hi Ata
Good news, Atalante.
do the ca 8's build off of the ca 4/7?
Think about the person behind home plate
in4.8 & 5.18 - anyone care to give definition of this silly one
they build from the ca5/16
oh - ah - ty scrabbler
and sprite
the ca..... in the rye
got is sprite - ty
But, TY for the ca4,7 clue--I got a bunch from that
yep - quite a few there
7 at least. :-)
So far this is the kind of grid that boosts my Babble Self-Esteem rating--I am sure to crash later
lynxxx: in + greeting = in5/18. Drop last letter for the 4.
TY Sprite - I had them, just wondering what they meant?
ah, sorry! Let's see if I can find out.
Wolvie, I have 5 linked together--the ca4,7---I am looking for 2 more
don't for get more so, most, and the sometimes vowel
Now, Scrabbler, cut out the negative chatter. As one who is a healer, heal yourself from self-deprecation. Someone told me that; perhaps a doctor?
got the 5, lynxxx. The word is usually known in coalminers' jargon as an adverb of direction meaning "toward the coal face". When used for above ground, it means "toward the house" or similar, for example, an "in5 field" is a field near the farmhouse. (yeah, right)
good morning all -does anyone have clue for bi 5/20?
LOL, BR, but I excel at self-deprecation, in a humorous way. You are right, though! I finished yest's grid WITHOUT the list--with help from my Babble friends
very cool scrabbler - I love it when I don't need the list for the last few
yay Scrabbler! We will call you ScrabblerBabbler from now on ;)
Hurshy & Aloyisius were guiding me
TY Sprite - that all seems quite logical actually - just old fashioned!
ah, you were in good hands then, but still, YOU did it
bi5.20 a body of water
not yet maj - but good morning
it seems so, lynxxx! There is also an out variant :)
ahhh - ty lynxx
Wolvie--I need 1 more in the ca4,7 group
for that ca, I have ca 4/7, ca 5/16 x2, ca 6/27 x2, ca 5/20, and ca 7/40
Yeah, like you know which one I need...LOL
which one are you missing?
ca7,40 is missing!
that the most ca 4/7
Oh, the superlative ending--I just saw it
superlative
:-)
Th** ending changes everything now---**scrambling to find words with th** ending**
yes - it makes a lot of words, and watch out for that y
cant figure the body of water clue-any others for bi 5/20?
The Y is dangerous, huh? Do I need a Kevlar vest?
majmom: rhymes with the dark part of day
bi5.20 another way of spelling what you do when you eat - you bi** with your teeth
lol - no sprite
I had the word, Sprite, but didn't know what it meant
not?
nothing dangersus in babble land
except maybe my typing.;-0
You're right, Wolvie--the letters are our friends!!
ty sprite-not a common word here -and lots of water in nova scotia
Wolvie, what was no? Not rhyming?
bights
yay mom, you got it, LOL
you would see that word in australia
How about another clue for that in5 and in4 combo that you mentioned earlier, Sprite?
that would be a plural maj. ;-)
Yes, the grid bites sometimes, majmom.
sorry -now its common to everyone
noun: the dark negative feminine principle in Chinese dualistic cosmology (Example: "The interaction of yi* and yang maintains the harmony of the universe")
Scrabbler: in + hello and good*** for the 5. Drop the last letter for the 4.
no problems maj - we all do it. :-)
We MUST have harmony in Babbleland!
TY, Sprite--I agree, completely ridiculous words
lol BabbleRabble!
no babble - just champagne in the penalty box. :-)
champagne and chocolate!
Yes, BR! Let's go Babble Team! (But I have to leave for the hospital very soon--2 newborns, then I go to the office for 3 hrs of sick kids)
right - choc very necessary
too bad scrabbler
DARK chocolate!
you've got your day cut out for you, Scrabbler.
if it's any consolation, the day itself is going to pull me away soon - outdoors calls
the darkest - 73%!!
champagne, dark chocolate and strawberries... but then I might never come out again.
I will return to Babble Land later though--so far I am having fun with th** grid
we will be putting ourselves in on purpose!
10 min more--I'll eat breakfast in the car!
If we had an A near the B, we would have abyss
we have one anyway scrabbler. ;-)
I am on the bottom of it, Scrabbler
nowhere to go but UP UP UP :D
No, no, HARMONY, happiness, glee, remember?! We love Babble!
I guess we will rise together sprite. ;-)
I am in, Wolvie :)
Just past halfway--142 to go--not bad for 1 hr of work. Good luck folks. I have to go play doctor for several hours.
you're doing such good work, Scrabbler! Good luck and see you 'round :)
bye scrabbler - don't forget to do to st 5/14 what you did to the ca 4/7. :-)
"GASP!"---OK, Wolvie--looking now
well folks 98 left to find going to take a break and save the rest for latter. See you and happy babbling
bye sheryl
bye Sheryl
LOL - i knew i would get you with that scrabbler
BINGO--7 more--TY, Wolvie!!
Bye Sheryl
now off with you, dr Scrabbler :D
yw - now have a great day. :-)
**stomping feet and making pouty face** I dont' want to leave Babble Land!
we'll be with you in spirit. :-)
ah well, ok, you win - stay then :) Love your company anyway.
I will remember that! Bye!
ca 7/40 the 1st one any clues?

ooohhh - you lurked before hello, eh?
I got 100 words, that leapt out at me. Now I'll have to focus, I guess. :(
Actually, I tried to ignore chat. It distracts me, but, since I lack convitcion, here I am.....
*conviction
LOL - I hear you - slows me down too
Babble isn't Babble without chat. It's part of the enjoyment for me.
definitely. :-)

*first part of your comment, ypsi!
I saw him in Ann Arbor a few years back- he's great

i alwasy liked it when he got married and worse a better dress than his wife!

what do we have in the way of T8s?

now i just need ONE MORE C, from the other C - C's have never gone so well before!

NOPE!

i am rocking this grid, is it easy-ish or am i getting better?
why am i the only one talking?

2 mins to afternoon in canada? which province? are you in PEI?????????????????????
close hursh...nova scotia
ah... a bluenose
(right?)
lol...better than a brown one ;)
yep... new brunswickers are called "herring chokers" lol
HA
come to think of it, i've never met anyone from new brunswick on babble...has anyone else?
i'm afraid i don't pay much attention beyond the flags, except for a few people i remember because they live nearer to me.
only two GH's, i hope?
i have one more hurshy
i have 3 gh's hursh...don't know if there are more yet
ah
well there are NOT more than 3
cause i only miss that one GH
what is it?
like the ch4/6
nvm, pulled a peri
gh + third vowel + curvy letter
that is just the clue i would have given, pab :)
may as well have spelled it out lol
i also miss one A word, i have all fours except one five that is a plural.
and one H - similar situation - mostly fours, TWO fives that are plurals in that case.
or, if anyone could help with my last E, have the number words and the houses/land real es**** words
an ae5 babblet without the a
eg4/6
sadly, that comes from the upper E, and i neglected to mention that i have that and am looking for a lower E
my bad
es, hurshy -- es + to burn, scortch
thanks ch!
i also wonder if anyone could help me with the left i. the only one of those 3 i have found is italian ic**.
more ic
variations on that, hursh -- the most, the more...
no, those come from the right.
can i have a clue for the st9 please? the war plan one didn't work for me
in + opp of hello
our president thinks it can be nounified as "strategery"
chess is a st9 game
hush do you have the in + visual and plural?
hmm, that might be giving too much away
That did it for me, Hursh! Thx.
HI ALL
yes, it was the stuff ch5 said
or the in + variant spelling of two part?
ahhh..ty hurshy...
so now that people are talking, i shall repeat my A and H questions: i have one missing of each, mostly fours except for one A5 (pl) and two H5 (also pl)
OOP! just remembered the hi4/5 babblet.
tough being in the grid....
first rule of physicians: do no h***
it's an honor, and a privilege, but it is tough, you're quite right.
WHAT ARE THE TILE STATS USED FOR?
I shall do my humble b***.
can words be in any order?
they let you know how many words come off each tile, playera1
you can make words going any direction, as long as the letters are touching and you don't use the same tile twice in the same word
ch1212 - didn't get your in + visual clue. can you dumb it down? :)
ag5 - pl of to grow older?
you can (and must) twist and turn and stuff
player - you make words by using letters which are next to each other. see the 'help' button....
ty hurshy
that is the one 5 i've got
how about ac5
aha! an ac5!
will look
got it!
tyvm sudoku
ac + Vowel + cons. + vowel (same)
one M left, let me run a plural check
yw thanks for the clue ch1212
plural check yields no results :(
matt
hursh--the other a5 isn't a plural..it's a botany term: a berry, as a grape or currant.
one MA8 and two sevens, is that right?
oooo nnnoooooo!!!! Sorry. Off to the penalty box
lol ch1212, good guess but i had that one
croissants and coffee....
the little wooden things to start a fire with?
aw MAN, why did you have to go and say "croissants"
yes hursh, 1 8, 2 7's
i want croissants and coffee!!!!!!
*giving up on the grid in favor of some croissants*
hursh, do you have the wise men with a different vowel, then plural?
well if anyone has any other suggestions for what M i might miss... lemme know
hurshy what m are u missing
big ma**?
yes i do, thanks though
small world, i just bought croissants from costco yesterday. enough for all of you!
hursh--you still looking for a5?
ah, ch5 got it!
ma*** simpson - bart's mother?
no bendamalina, got that ages ago - thanks for cluing though :)
goodday, does anyone have a clue for the bi5/20?
a5
morning, friends
rhymes with love at first si5
Cheese on Toast with brown sauce ... yum yum!
bi5/20 rhymes with "right"
thank you hurshy!
bi5/10 - b + opp of day minus the initial n.
ooh, hey, i used a word, now i get croissants
bi 5/20 sounds like what an inscet does
kris why are u so quiet?
ah, ma5... name for a butter substitute... didn't see that one...
now all i have left is R, S, and T (half the wheel of fortune gimmes)
a5= a+ first three letters of another word for film or movie house+ third vowel
and we have established that there are no T8
Good morning all. Just looked at my lickety list and found all my yesterday's words there. has that happened to you? How did you clear it? Refreshing doesn't work.
oops...i need to read instead of type....and eat croissants
so, are there 2 R8 or 3?
hey Ch***, what an honor, you're in the grid!
I have three...
hetty - I had the same problem - I undid it manually because I'm not technical enough to know any tricks.
There are 3 r8's
lovely, are they all RE or is one RA?
Hey, smaller!
who me?
re's hurshy
all re...
Thanks, Haz. Wonder if we should tell Lickety?
must go now. 38 to find later....
okey doke then, are they all in combo too?
ursh, all are re's
yes
He's probably asleep, hetty.
that would be even lovelier...
how swell!
all are 5/7/8 combos...
i will look for this other combo.
in my two combos, the third letter is S
same for the other hurshy
you probably need re + (U)S
the first 5 letters are the same on the re combos
no, have those sherb... the first FIVE, wow, cool
got it!
no, wait... that 'probaly' only applies if you work line by line like me...
i have ca8x2, ge8, in8, ma8, and re8x3 what am i missing
i think i meant to try those at some point and never got around to it cause i was typing in lotsa other words
st8
Yes Haz, it's after midnight in Australia. Maybe I'll email him in eight housr or so
ta 5/14 anybody?
oho! i am at the dreaded 14!
I'm at 46...
the ta store with the red dot minus the last letter
thanks hurshy
thanks ch!
yes, thanks ch!
2 R, 5 S, and 5 T to go!
done with the 9 and 8s... but still need 8 7s...
don't forget to plural that ta too :)
i didn't!
got a couple of S's!
st + the mome ****s outgrabe
and pl
I am ta 1, where is everyone else?
?
what do you mean, ta 1?
at 1
backwards
you have one word?
or one word left?
happy hunting all -- I have to be going
by ch, thanks for the clues!
Bye ch1212.
bye ch1212
2-3-3-2! yay symmetry!
hurshy your clue is fuzzy to me
what do you mean 'the mome ****s outgrabe'?
one left hurshy, just thought I would let you know as you so kindly have been giving a run down of exactly how many you have left
bye ch :)
ooh...
ah, lovely cyborg
haint you folks read your wonderland??
jabberwocky
twas brillig and the slithey toves did gyre and gimbol in the wabe
yawn!
been a very long time for that hurshy
all mimsy were the borogroves, and the mome ****s outgrabe
googled it... already have those... :(
beware the jabberwock, my son, the jaws that bite, and the claws that catch. beware the jubjub bird, and shun the frumious bandersnatch.
calloo, callay, he chortled in his joy!
i'd go on but i'd probly irk people.
Yes.
though not JB, evidently :)
clue for the in 7/8 pair
yay
nooooooo.... ;)
Just saw the Last Mimsy yesterday - lovely movie, great for kids (grandparents, too!)
einstein was full of brilliant in8!
all mimsey were the borogoves, and the momer****s outgrabe.
mediums have a special in5...
oh duh. hiding in plain...
fireworks! thanks all
or should that be media...
lol
congrats dan
thanks hurshy googled it
the r4 goes in on its own, too
I still need 10 Ts... ridiculous...
the T's ARE ridiculous
comparatively, a superlative grid
did you get alt sp of macbeth, and pl?
and th + limb
sing... but not pl... thanks :)
little man ta4, and pl?
the sad words, including the tr5-comedy?
ooh... didn't have the tr5...
the other tr's i've got are all normal
as are the other th's i have
and i think you saw ch's ta5/6 combo clue?
just found two more tr's...
normal or weird??
and another 2... looking more respectable now...
ok, normal... but better than nothing...
could I get a clue for the 9 letter word?
well i just wanted to know in case you found something weird you could clue it
the US thought it had a good st9 plan for the war in iraq, but it turned out to be ineffective.
mate
G'd afternoon Babblers! I'm ack for round two
srry didnt mean to say that
may i please have the LAST HI4,5 ???
or, eveb *back
i'm ack just on round one
switch last 2 letters on the one before, kristine
***shoots typist***
ty hursh
finished R's!
hmmm... I still ned two...
Yea hursh!
the ones i just got were like anger but for the last vowel
and I still NEED to clean my keyboard...
how do you clean a keyboard, mine needs it too
thanks hursh :D
i am looking for a ga6...i have three--the one who measures stuff, the collecting one, and the plural of the country singer's name
if I knew that....
The keys pop off. Use rubbing alcohol and Qtips
ga6 rhymes with red dot store ta6
i have to take ALL THE KEYS off?? that sounds like a lot of work.
ga6/30 - the same structure as what people aim at when shooting.
turning it upside down and shaking out the muffin crumbs would probably be a good start... but hey...
umm...that's weird. thanks hurshy!
mmmmm muffins
not mmmmm skunk outside
It's time intensive, but depends on how bad it is. I spilled coke in mine, so I ahd no choice. Cleaned up finest kind though.
ooh, thanks Haz... very Dickensian...
to clean a keyboard: unplug keyboard, throw out keyboard, plug in new key board, type away!
LOL rae
Please - I hate Dickens....
i like rae's method... how much is a new keyboard?
i use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, with the computer off, sherb. if you need to get crumbs out, shaking works, and they also sell little canisters of compressed air you can use to blow dust out.
The clock strikes noon and I appear.
$10
oooh, compressed air
hickory, dickory dock
You could just put the keyboard on the floor and have the dog give it a good licking.
I prefer not to think about what's under the keys...
i have ca4. they are more finicky.
Really, rae has the easiest idea. Keyboards are cheap, compared to the time it takes to remove sticky Coke.... :)
well, what with croissants and muffins, i believe Judi's method might work
I have cordless keyboard and mouse... brilliant...
I usually buy two when they go on sale...
Has anyone noticed how screwed up Lickety is today?
how can there be five more t words???????
my keyboard is attached to my laptop, so it's a bit more expensive to replace
Yes, Movieman.
*adds new keyboard to shopping list*
I only need four... I thought you were down to two or three?
nope :(
3 S's, but 5 t's
do you have t + the best?
well, at 208 words I think I'm going to go take a shower and go to the farmer's market for some coffee and croissants. If ya'll hadn't started talking about croissants, I'd probably just finish this darn grid, but I'll be back later to finish...
and pl...
aha, thanks sherb!
done with fours now.
but still two sevens!
still need 33...
i shall now proceed to reheat my chinese leftovers
enjoy :)
and after i eat those, i shall have CAKE!
for i baked. last night. to solve my sweets dilemma.
NI7,40 PLZ
now then, i have two T7's, are there any more?
that reminds me... *thinking of Lemon Drizzle...*
poetic for closest, kristine
What did you bake, Hurshy? I'm going to throw down some banana bread this afternoon.
ty again hursh
ni7 = the most ni4...
i baked the yummiest cake in the world. crazy cake.
Crazy cake??
I have two t7s... but I still need 7 7s...
crazy cake has no eggs
or butter
i have to help sarah for a second, i can give you the recipe if you like after that
So what's left... booze and crushed xanax?
ooh... found two more 7s...
Though I'm dragging along at a leisurely pace, I ahven't encountered any stoopid words. Yet....
I take great comfort in the fact that every grid has at least one stupid word...
Oh, hello everyone...
this is a lovely grid for a Sunday...
G'd afternoon Douglas
Hello Lori...
hello Douglas :)
Hello Douglas.
I agree sherb, nice big grid for a day off. Weekend grid!
good afternoon - back for another go...
Hello sherb, Haz...
welcome back Con...
wb Con
Hello ConX.
thanks sherb, lori and haz, hi douglas! just to let you know i'm babbling party style and you're all up on the beamer screen....!! :)
hubby's trying to put up rude things ow...
:)
now... :/
woo... fame at last... better be entertaining...
***naively asks what a beamer screen is***
Hurshy - when you come back - if you see this, please em the recipe for crazy cake to me. em in profile. Thanks!
Must go wash hair and do other responsible adult things now. BBL. *poof*
beamer screen is like pull down cloth screen - fits across the wall. Everything becomes life size and the beamer is like a projector projecting onto the screen what's on your computer screen...
Cool!
grrr----RA5,14 plz
befire the ra7,36
before 7,36
yep! but hubby and party are bored with words now.... HOW is that possible???? you're all back on my small screen, beamer is off.
So ConX is sharing us with a party...How nice! Can they help Kristine get the ra5/14?
it's the sing Kris...
ummm, kris, try the singular of that 7
i dont have the 7
douglas... they found the st9!!! and then gave up.
no staying power...
ohhh...then it will sound that the door on the back of an automobile...and then plural for the 7
The last sc 5/12 please? I have one that ends in double cross letter
That's pretty good for people who don't share the Babble obsession...
Hi PEEP!!
G'd afternoon Krys
indeed douglas - and it's worn them out in one go!
hi Krys :) ...don't often see you here...
hello krys
lori, change last cross letter for snake
If they're that st 9, they're good!
yes lori, but alas, as sherb said, no staying power....
***blush*** Thanks Con, I asked for it, and had it. Tremendous powers of observation I have today....
:) lori
automobile huh :-/
the 1st ni 6/27 any clues/
hello all
hi everyone ..... looks like a difficult one today.
hello dorens
G'd afternoon mo
G'd afternoon Dorens
ehllo mo
ni6/27 = more ni4...
hi mo... no, it's a joy... :)
ty got it
it's a friendly grid mo.
are you hinting the ra5,14 followed by ra7,36 ?
thanks sherb, so I will dive in!!
188, still no weird ones. Yea!
hi mo, lori, con, sherb... no shortage of s's here. looks good
ra5/14 is like ma5/16...
ga6/30 is a wierd word to me...
hi Dorens :)
segs
i have that one sherb
oops sorry.
i need the ra5,14 and ra7,36
i am back
douglas, it's like if you turned inspector Gadget into t target!
ga 6/30?? don't have that yet.... ?
hello hurshy
i emailed the crazy cake recipe to judi... anyone else wanting it?
I just clued that Kris...
see my rather sick clue below, conx
wb hursh
if you have the ma5/16, just change the first letter
jane said a word...
hi, all.
how many left for you now sherb?
crazy cake? crazy like you can eat it but not gain any weight? or crazy like tastes crazy good and plenty fattening?
again?
*whispers* ...30...
crazy like it has no eggs or butter
G'd afternoon Angel
Some people say an unborn baby is ******ing, I say it's just waiting...
ok, so I haven't been concentrating...
any clues for ga6/30?
hm. no eggs or butter? what is in it?
it rises by a mixing of vinegar and baking soda
i post recipe.
i have the ra5,14 which means to get angry am i lost here ?
ga 6/30. i like to shop at G + T*****
11:31 angelsong
good... where posted...babblers anonymous?
thanks harpjane but not following the clue...
sift (or just put) into ungreased 8x8 pan: 1.5 c flour, 1 c sugar, 3 T baking cocoa, 1 t baking soda, 1 t salt.
no i am posting it here right now
then go with dorens 11:34
liking this recipe already.... easy cleanup. good ingredients. crazy
mix the dry ingredients, then make three "holes", small medium and large. in large hole put 3 T veg oil, in med hole put 1 T vinegar, in small put 1 t vanilla. pour 1 c cold water over all, mix thoroughly.
hmmmm but I don;t know any usa shops... :(
I am missing the ma5/16, 6/27 combo. clues?
conx ready, aim fire!
Just got in -- Lickety's list is a mess -- what gives? Does anybody know?
short for butter substitute and plural, harp
rhymes with a thing at which one shoots...
bake at 350 for 35 mins, cool and frost. i like icing rather than frosting. just mix milk and powdered sugar until thick, add a little vanilla, and food coloring if desired.
no, but it sure isn't working here, erda
1 T = 1 tablespoon, and 1 t = 1 teaspoon, right?
thanks
that is correct, sherb
It's a mess, but the clues are there...
When I printed Lickety's this morning, it was fine. Is it messed up now?
ahhhh!! thank you! got it! strange word indeed... :)
TY Dorens
thanks hurshy. loving this recipe. will make it this afternoon
it is easy, low fat, moist, delicious, chocolatey - the perfect cake.
Yes, Lori, all messed up
some people said it clean itself up when they rebooted, not me, i just erased the problems
can i get a clue for the 9 letter word?
kristine rae u here?
what's with the holes? ...if you're going to mix it all up anyway...
Air Command...
i am not sure, sherb, it might be just for fun, like if you're making it with kids?
i just do it in case there is an actual reason. and it IS fun.
i have always enjoyed the making of the holes.
the 9 has to do with plans an army makes...
Back later for the final assault...
i like the idea of making holes. looks like fun to make as well as good to eat. a winner
bye douglas
i had this like every birthday as a kid, and would make my mom write "live long and prosper" instead of "happy birthday" - which is hard to crowd onto an 8x8 cake!
I just opened lickety in internet explorer instead or firefox and it's fine
lickety's fine in safari as well
Later Douglas
9 letter word starts with what letter an a clue if have 1 please?
thanks harp, good to know. i am at 110 left listless and ii just might try to do without today. don't even think i have explorer on this computer
any clues on the single e in the right hand column?
st9. adj. of or pertaining to tactical plans.
st 9 think of a george bush plan
it is going very well for me listless dorens, i have just 6 left. you can do it!
eg4/6
st9 is NOT ta4-ical...
thanks hurshy
oh well... people will get it... even if it is imprecise :)
(obvious really.... e4...)
no, hurshy, YOU can do it. for me it s far more of a challenge... we'll see how long it takes before i try to open it on safari.. never have done before
but please do explain the difference tween tactics and strategy, because i would like to know.
ta6/21 please?
I didn't know there was any difference hurshy, so I am interested as well....
st = big picture, long term... ta = detail, short term...
ta 6/21 - i need this!!!
i see no dif
aha
it rhymes with a skimpy 2 piece bathing suit - sort of.
hello everyone :)
ta + not bye, but** + **tpicking is annoying

Thanks Lori, but that's a ra12. I need the last ra5,14.
oh, note on the crazy cake (well i suppose it is obvious but): cover well after you cut into it, so the sides where it is cut don't dry out!
ra + ca*** the ball, in baseball
ra5/14 sounds like back car door....
It would seem my inability to handle pressure, is combined with illiteracy....
i wonder if my last 7 is an S or a T...
I understand Lori.... pressure can be crippling!
good clue thanks lorip
Aha. Thanks so much.
i wonder what my last 13 7's are ???? lol
you came up with a fine clue, lori, and this is all in good fun :)

hello bena:)
ta6,21 PLZ
I'm no bromeliad fanatic, but I'm a fan -- they're all over the place down here (in florida)
hello jean1953 how are you today?
thank you again hurshy, I was starting from the wrong 'I'. Mental block.... %)
a bromeliad is a plant, eh? it sounds like it should be some sort of epic poem.
missing a ca5/6 combo, assuming its a combo
What is the ac 5 please?
(and I want to note that "I'm no bromeliad fanatic' has likely never been uttered before)
back... changed to my old icon for today. glad you figured out the cause of your discomfort, Takuma, glad CW's okay! {{{{{JB}}}}} *tosses chocolates everywhere*

thanks hurshy, thought i tried that already
hello ursh:)
lol Takuma :)
My husband is pres. of the Michigan bromeliad society. Does beautiful artwork, this is not one though. Has many connections to FLA

welcome back ursh
hello BR!
Wow. Thank ye muchly. That's a word?
Back to work, BBL
oooh. so cool *fingers crossing for chocolate-covered hubby doc*
I think part of the reason I became interested in them is that, like a lot of orchids, there's something really improbable about them
ragin
Hello, Cin
what about you, JB, will you be able to find good work in his potential locations?
our broms go outdoors in the summer, right now they are all in his greenhouse and living and dining room. I feel tropical
later JB
i think bromeliad reminded me of jeremiad...
ooo as in cinderella???
Howdy, ConXshun
jean1953 R U still there?
I can see why, in MI!
Hi, new here. Can't chat long--just checking this out after getting the toddler off to bed. The problem is, I have tried "brine" and "cite" and it says they "do not exist in the puzzle". I see all the letters there and am not using any twice; did I miss something when reading the rules???
looking tropical too, inge -- how was the rouladen last night? and the kartoffeln?
most people in the northern states have no idea what a bromeliad is. My husband speaks at many garden clubs for taht reason
haven't seen you for a while BR. How are you doing?
yes i am bena, having to answer phone at work a mo, welcome to babble MonkeyGames:)
Monkey, the letters have to touch in the right order, too
Hi Monkey -- the letters have to be contiguous
monkey - the letters need to be next to each other...
MonkeyGames - all letters have to follow on from each other
made some extra rouladen for us tonight. The mashed potatoes are my son's favorite, which he obviously never cooks himself
Oh, it's just a simple old fashioned word search puzzle? Ok. Thanks.
feel free to ask more questions -- I think we can find more than 4 ways to answer next time, too! ;)
lol takuma!
*grin* Takuma, you said it!
jean1953 how's the weather there?
You're lucky, though, that in this case all the answers were roughly the same. That's rare
'just'? ...the puzzle is incidental...
its dull and grey bena and getting a little cold now
TA6,21 7,32 COMBO PLEASE
the word-generation rules are as in Boggle, Monkey, in case you're familiar with that

ca 8?
LOL not me, I am looking for wurds... only up to 67 so far.
lol babblerabble -- who would have thunk there was a need for a technical term for that?
Thanks, all. Off now to make tomorrow's dinner, clean this place up, call my grandfather in the States, prep for tomorrow, look the family-transport trike over for anything that might interfere with the daycare run in the morning, take that badly-needed shower, and collapse into bed. It's late evening here in the Netherlands.
ca 8, are the people at home plate
bye, Monkey.. welcome to BABBLE!!
just away from computer a mo bena then i wil tell you about the attractions

hey stid! :-D I've been working
hello smooth! long time no see
US. So we are just Dutch now--dual isn't allowed. Not that we find that such a sad thing... but better not discuss politics on my first time in a group, eh?
hi jean
bah! *yuck face* work. *spits on floor*
hiya con! man, a lot of faces I haven't seen in a long time!
yeah, my new scheule has changed when and how much online time I get
we allow each to their own here, MG.... My kids are dual. Me dutch, hubby UK - I suppose it's different.
generally a wise policy, MG, but this is a pretty laid-back group, I think. I haven't seen an argument in many monthes
well, nice to see you smooth. :)
so how has life been in babble land thee past few weeks?
Yeah, that way it's possible. But we're both from the US so we had no marry-in clause to fall back on. So our son is an echte Hollander--hij was geboren nadat wij moesten de VS paspoorts teruggeven.
this is the nicest grid in weeks smooth...
I am just coming off a week of migraine followed by a week of virus, BUT *happy face* the plum tree is loaded with blooms so hoping for a bumper crop this year!
kristine 89 left
yeah, you have to hand in everything over here before they allow you something new.... !! ;)

hey judi, have you ever posted on babanon? cause ever since the whole registering thing, it won't let me post.
if yours is more cooperative, and you want to post that crazy cake in the recipe section, that would be good.
Hi, Hursh. No. Never posted there. Only looked for word lists. Will remember that for the future though.
well, i'll find someone who can post to do it eventually
well, i'll find someone who can post to do it eventually
oops
hurshy, i have posted on babanon
have you? lovely. would you like to post my crazy cake recipe then?
i used to post as a non-member and then swmbo had to change it cause of spammers and now when i try to log in i can't.
sure, send it to me.. i'll post me email on my profile until you have it. You will get spamblocked, but just temporarily... I'll get it. Make it an attachment
evening all, how is everyone today?
Hello, Ren8.
not nec, alo, i can just post it here, it is short
ungreased 8x8 pan put directly in pan: 1.5 c flour, 1 c sugar, 3 T baking cocoa, 1 t salt, 1 t baking soda. mix. make three "holes" in the dry mixture, large, medium and small. in the large hole put 3 T veg oil. medium hole, 1 T vinegar. small hole, 1 t vanilla. over all pour 1 c cold water. mix all thoroughly. bake at 350 for 35 mins, cool and frost. (i like to use icing, not frosting, just mix powdered sugar with milk until it is thick, add a little vanilla and food coloring if desired).
*!*~*!* ta da *!*~*!*
hello ren8:)
This grid is a monkier's dream. I have typed in some of the most desperate words. I feel so validated.
got it, Hurshy.. copied it onto WordPerfect. Will post after I finish this grid (8 left)
v good grid, nod nod
thanks alo! :)
Nanner bread is done baking. Time to go out and play in the spring weather. I do believe a hike in the woods is in order.
yw, tx for sharing the crazy cake recipe
tis my favorite cake :)
hurshy, I copied it also, will try it tonight. Thanks
Hurshy - Once I buy some cocoa powder, I will bake that cake and take it into work for the guinea pigs (I mean cops) to sample.
has anyone else noticed anything hinky about lickety?
Don't think I have an 8x8 pan though. Would it work in a loaf pan?
oh, judi, if there are a lot of cops, you better make more than one. it's only 8x8 you know.
i think it might have to be 8x8 cause of how it rises from vinegar and baking soda
i don't know if it would have enough power to rise loaf height
you can pick one up easily at walmart or a grocery store though
Yes, a loaf pan could be a disaster. I will just double the recipe and bake it in a 9x13x2.
see i dunno if you can double it either, or if it only works on a small scale...
it might work fine, or it might not, i just don't know.
found my cacao powder, will start the cake NOW
Gotta go - the tweety birds and sunshiney weather insist I come out to play. Later, all!
bye Judi have fun:)
Bye Judi

is anyone finding the grid slow putting the words in?
yes I am here ren8:)
oh I am glad it is not my connection then
my mummers says she THINKS she HAS doubled the crazy cake in a 9x13 and it worked fine, if anyone wants to know...
Are we the only ones playing Jean?
lol either that or they are so stuck in the grid lol
crazy cake?
crazy cake! :)
aloyisius posted the recipe on babanon for me, as i cannot post. :)
I am here too--feeling the lure of the grid yet feeling like I should go for a walk on a nice day.
im having to come off line a mo as work beckons a mo:)
113 to go---where are these words???
Hurshy's crazy cake is in the oven!!!
normally on a sunday I have all day to complete the grid, I have only just started today and it is 8.35pm here, I dont I will be finishing tonight
Is aloyisius still in the room?
hmm...my boyfriend is constantly calling me crazy (with a smile, of course), and he likes sweets (I bake him too many cookies)...perhaps I need to make some crazy cake
does st 9 72 begin on left side or right...having hard time finding my way thnx
is crazy cake bc it has no eggs or butter
oooo....vegan cake?
the st9 on the left
st 9 starts on the left
thnx
that reminds me, I have to find my recipe for spice cookies, although I fear it came from a vegetarian magazine that I got rid of long ago
um, yes, now that i think of it, it is vegan
YAY!! I found the st9 all by myself!!!
though my icing - milk and powdered sugar - is not, i guess.
Hints for st9?
Hurshy, have you ever make that cake with almond flavoring? I was tempted to change flavor, but decided to stick with the original the first time around
methinks alo left.
eh, who cares :) I don't, but I have enough friends who are vegan that I take note when I find a recipe, in case I need an idea for something if they come over.
Scrabbler, st9= Risk is a game of str****** moves to concquer the world
where might this recipe be posted?
clues for the ei words please
I just saw it--TY!
it is on babblers anonymous, under recipes
Katie, number before nine
(I just came back from eating a lovely cheese danish with extremely good coffee)
thanks hurshy!
thanks Inge
I can't believe I missed that, thanks inge
benda - the cake is good even without frosting anyway, but i suppose there are probably vegan frostings out there.
I missed it too until I read a clue this monring
st 9, 72?
yeah, I'm sure there are hursh...just sugar and water
no, it is not under recipes
where did alo put it?
ah well i will post it here again for the mo and we'll sort that out later
ungreased 8x8 pan put directly in pan: 1.5 c flour, 1 c sugar, 3 T baking cocoa, 1 t salt, 1 t baking soda. mix. make three "holes" in the dry mixture, large, medium and small. in the large hole put 3 T veg oil. medium hole, 1 T vinegar. small hole, 1 t vanilla. over all pour 1 c cold water. mix all thoroughly. bake at 350 for 35 mins, cool and frost. (i like to use icing, not frosting, just mix powdered sugar with milk until it is thick, add a little vanilla and food coloring if desired).

no, Scrab, ends in frozen water without the e
There it is---man, I kept getting mixed up in the grid
Hurshy... glad you are still here. I'm sorry, but i am unable to log in to Babanon.. not quite sure what the problem is.. rats
yes, that is the same problem i always have alo
anyone able to log in to babanon?
it used to work in the "old" days..
yes, for me too... until the spammers and the registering
stidmama seems to be the only one who posts on BABaonon without problems. I have her e mail address. Can we connect soemhow
just email her the recipe then, and ask her to post it, i guess?
well, dadgum it.. off i go, (again).. good luck, babblers.. see you next time, Scrabbler
bye alo!
i just got here
ttfn alo, thanks for trying!
hiya stid!
yw, wish it had worked... and tx for the yummy recipe
I'll post anything you need... what is the problem you are having logging in?
hey stid, see that recipe down at 2:43? can you post it on babanon for me?
sure hurshy -- what
what title do you want?
it always tells me my password is wrong, even right after i created a new account with a new password and definitely hadn't forgotten it!
it is called crazy cake
okay! consider it done. I'll ask swmbo about the password thing if I can't figure it out.
oh and can you add that it needs to be well covered after being cut into so the sides where you cut it don't dry out.
i guess that is true of all cakes? but in case we have any rookies...
done, with addendum :-)
AND can you add that my mom says she thinks you CAN double it and use a 9x13 and it works fine?
"cookie rookies" *giggle*
LOL, Stid
i love crazy cake.
amended the addendum...
ty :)
hurshy, to meet my goal today, I need the lower S from the left, an E from the tile next to it, and an I from the right... can you help?
i hope she is right about that. she says she has not made crazy cake in a long time.
woohoo
s: most timid
I need one more A--I have ac4 x2, ac5, ag4 x 2, ag5, ar4, and at4

Hurshy: awesome clue on ag4,6. ;-D
TY, hursh....now I am trying to figure out the Einstein clue as I am feeling quite un-Einsteinish right now
ty :)
in + vision
Aha, I was looking for intellect
or in + si5/16
i should have said many brilliant in8
that would have been more clear
hurshy, I think there may be help about the logging in at http://help.ezboard.com/?view_article _id=160
se 6, 18?
I didn't have the in7 to find in7, but then you gave me the in7.....I am truly insane
two suggestions stand out: make sure your computer clock is right, and try clearing the cache...
se4/4 babblet + not out
well maybe the cache, but i have had the trouble for a long time, way before spring ahead...
thanks, hurshy!
the se 6 is irish... sounds like "session"
okay, I'll keep looking
wow, thanks stid
oh, stid... that's ok, i will try these things first and see what happens
okay hurshy, email me if you like -- I have to leave soon for egg decorating. A friend of mine once had an egg hung for Christmas on the white house tree -- she does slovakian eggs, and sometimes we go to her house to play. :-)
slovakian eggs!
Go0d luck with your eggs, Stid. Hope you enjoyed the ones Alan sent you.
I loved them, hetty -- was going to reply this evening, when I had a chance to think. it's been busy here@
what sort of birthday cake did he have? chocolate, like yours?
crazy cake is excellent birthday cake...
bi5/20?
no, I made a cheesecake (babble recipe!) with fresh strawberries (fom CA of course)
rhymes with not wrong
Rhymes with opp of day
thanks
mmmm. I love cheesecake. Tom's bday is next saturday, now I have to decide between crazy cake, cheesecake and the cake you made last summer... maybe one for breakfast, one for lunch and one for supper? *grin*
I keep seeing heist in the puzzle
Tell him Happy Birthday! Lisa's is April 2nd.
me too benda, and "neist" as well!
And geisha
i keep seeing chocolate...(not just in the puzzle)(
hahaha harpjane
I will Scrabbler :-) *chocolate*
Right, scrabbler, and I'll wish us both a happy anniversary too (April 4). My best to Lisa
I keep seeing geisha too scrabbler
I just put Hershey's syrup in milk to satisfy my chocolate urge, and to not open the container of ice cream.
hetty -- that'll be something like 60 years, won't it?
i did it!
i can post!
yahooo, hursh
yippee for hurshy!!!!! :-) what did you do differently?
I'll do as Stid does for Tom for our anniversary--four kinds of cake for our four chidren's choices
i think before i didn't pay attention about the validation email
No, not 60 yet,Stid. Would you belive 54?
so i am pretty sure hurshy was already taken - by me - and so now i am posting as hurshmeister.
ah. that would do it. glad you figured it out.
Great idea, hetty, and then lots of cake for all!
*pop-eyes* I believe it, hetty -- you two are like the coolest couple I know!
Frau Hurshmeister, wie geht es?
Don't worry, they'll all be here!
2 left
ummmm... i don't SPEAK german, i just have some german blood in me
go harp go!

Wish you could all come too.
Woooooo, woooooo, go go Jane!!

Wie geht es? = How is it going?
looks like everyone is having a good Sunday/monday
Whethre you're harp or jane, go go go!!!
hetty -- did you hear about the enhanced driver's licenses? that means we can still come visit easily!
it is going ok
i'm both
what enhanced driver's licences?
I want just one more to hit 200----and I can't even find one more!
I'm about to send away for a passport so I can go to Banff
sure you can scrabb
where's that jane?
Skiing, Jane?
well, I have passed halfway, which is always my third goal. Going to head out soon.
we have a ta*** understanding (spelt wrong)
enhanced driver's licenses will require proof of citizenship to get them, will be slightly more expensive and will be issued in my state starting later this year. Banff is a wonderful place! you'll enjoy it.
Oh Stid, please do. I'm trying to persuade Alan to take a litle trip south before the end of May--we have a godchild in Folsom CA and an ex-best man in San Francisco to go see
well, we don't have specific plans yet but usually we go skiing in the Canadian Rockies in Feb. We went to the Grand Canyon this year so we didn't have to deal with the new rules
Yahooo, 200. I may be back later.
Hurshy's crazy cake is done! Cooling off. Who all is coming???
actually I think the ta 5 is a musical term....
this is so exciting, someone using my recipe!
gotta go. love you all! *blows kisses and vanishes in a puff of cocoa powder*
lol....I wish I could be there inge
Mmmm, yummy! Do you have whipped cream or ice cream?
bye stid!
bye stidmama:)
I don't think Montana has thought of that yet, they are too busy fighting about taxes
Bye Babblers!
Icecream, Stroh's Moosetrack
Evening all - where can I find the recipe for crazy cake please?
sc did you get my clue??
yes, a musical term meaning "don't play this movement"
bye scrabbler:)
it was my last word so i thought you might need it for your 200th
hello hurshy:)
hi everyone, back to get my last 17
recipe is on babanon, other interests, recipes vol 2
Harpjane, why not travel west on your way to Banff, and drop in here for a visit?
hello pabtrek
hi jean
bye stid, bye scrabbler
Thanks Hurshy
ty to stid and harp for the ta info!
hi jean
Are you in Salt Island or something hetty? That sounds like fun. Do you have chocolate?
clue for es6/24 please
why do I get the feeling like no one is seeing my comments? I know my connection is slow....
es+ burn badly
speaking of ta, I can't get the ta5/14. Anyone?
thanks harpjane
UJade, I see your comments and I love you so there
lol...thanks hetty
harpjane, I live around the corner from Jilli on Channel Ridge, Salt Spring (lookup the website)
anyone online live in or around Pittsburgh?
Salt Spring is the name of an island just north of the state of Washington
Stid came for a visit last summer, and I hope she (and her mom and her boys) will be coming again
It'd be fun to go there hetty, we don't get that far west too often, we usually just go to Revelstoke or Lake Louise area for a long weekend.
Also Harp, there's great skiing at Mt. Washington, a 2 hour drive from here.
but anything's possible, once I get my passport!
How far are you from Seattle?
Or youngest daughter Mandy was traumatized at age 8 by our pssing through "Hingry Horse" Montana--had nightmares for weeks aboutthat poor horse, and still--at 45--recalls them
what is a hingry horse? typo for hungry?
th 5/12 the 1st one ?
wheat th*** crackers
That's "HUngry horse, of course. Ferries come to Victoria from Port Angeles, or you can get from Seattle to Pot Townsend-- through Puget Sound to Vancover Island, close to us.
need the 1 before it
oh geez, why do i see 1st and read last?
My fingers are very clumsy--it's arthritis, please make allowances
is fine hetty, i just wanted to know in case hingry was a thing. :)
Hi all, what is crazy cake
th5 homonym of what macbeth was
hey peri!
crazy cake is my favorite cake, have loved it since i was little. it is crazy bc it has no eggs or butter.
tx hurshy-so easy to see now lol
it is an easy, cheap, delicious, moist, not too fattening chocolatey treat

Hi Bex

hi everyone
hi bex
Hey HELLEN!!!
Hi Helen
ta 6/21 anyone?
i just finished reading a book, main character named 'bex' - 'confessions of a shopaholic'
I'll be in your neck of the woods on a layover on Wednesday, Helen!
ohhhh i feel speshal =]
jade - where ya going?
Pittsburgh.
jujade - just going to stay in the airport? or will you have some time in the city?
Good question, have to double check on that. Think I'm staying in the airport.
ra5/14 after the torn clothe please
Hi all -- I have a puzzlement
what's up, Jilli?
i have a lovely ra***et set (tools)
i love puzzlements
sounds like catch
unless they are sad and deal with misunderstandings
could i get a clue for ta5/14?
penalty box for majmom!!
I had apuzzlement too. Wonder if it's the same one.
Does anybody know where I left my socket wrenches?
ta5/14 rhymes with BIG
did you check the garage, harpjane?
that's a puzzle, harder to solve than the grid
my socket wrenches are usually under my bed, unless I'm using them...
sorry never thought about the rules
lol
I just booted up and went here of course, then brought up Lickety and it had all yesterday's stuff on it. So I refreshed, and it still has yesterday's stuff on it but today's grid. I've refreshed a couple more times -- same thing! Any suggestions?
lol
everyone haves this puzzlement
alex trebek!
i heard tell that it works in explorer.
try clearing out your cache, jilli
bbl
what about trebek?
bye peri
my clue boxes did that then i filled one in and then pressed refresh and it worked =]
bye Peri
the garage is full of memoriabilia that has to be sorted out, tools are in the dreaded Tool Shed and I'm not tall enough to step over all the junk
ok -- how? This is IE7
leave it to bex to find a simple solution!
thanks hurshy
hi all
hi helen
Hi T!
YES Jilli! Same puzzlement as mine. Haz had it too. She pointed out Lickety would be asleep (Ozze time) so I took her advice and manulally deleted them all. Grrr.
it's a problem for a lot of folks today jill, some people simply re-booted and it came back ok. I had to switch from Firefox to IE.
just a look in before retiring: and see jullibus's quandry. I've had the same problem. Ursh suggested removing Lickety's cookies in your browser. It should do the trick.
hey - they just had the annual sock monkey madness festival in rockford, illinois - now who is it here that does the sock monkeys?
try bex's thing, try bex's thing!
can i get a clue for ta 6/21 anyone?
Refreshing didn't help at all.
go to tools, options, main, clear history
toe sock monkey?
Well, I'm using IE now, not Firefox...
I'll take lickety's cookies if they're chocolate
but she hasn't been around in ag4.
ta6/21 ends like 2 piece bathing suit
hey harpjane...I think you should take jadeomoan's advice to find your socket wrenches
hurshy - whenever is see 'pabtrek' here i just automatically think it's alex trebek - so we've decided his alias isn't very good since we know who he is :)
don't all browser have cookies?
LOL
I use safari.... and after a while it happened there too..
i don't, i think trek, and i don't know what the pab is for. LOL
you think if i refressh my socket wrenches will show up on the kitchen counter?
try it, harp...can't hurt!
nope, not toesockmonkey (kinda obvious,no?), it's someone else who does them, it's in her bio, but i can't remember who it is right now
should be the same concept jilli.
and i will never tell
well hurshy - of course, you would focus on the 'trek' part, lol
my dad thought his dad was hip when they were working on the car and his dad said, "son, will you pass the socket to me?"
THANK YOU BEX!!! Worked just fine!!!
is tsm here? haven't seen her for ages!
why not? i want to know what the pab means!!!
I'm glad i have a toolkit that keeps every tool secure...I'm a pretty scattered person, but I always make sure to put my tools back so I can find them again.
=]
ch6/30 please
well, pab IS a trek fan
Hi, Jilli--I'm using Safari and had the same problem. Had to wipe them out one by one and type in new ones.
ch6 it to my credit card please
harp - no, i was saying there was just a tsm festival in illinois & someone here does them but i can't remember who
hahaha, hurshy...funny about your dad
fiber: remove cookies in your preferences and all will be well....
bex: dya owe me one?
(is not true bendamalina, i just made it up cause it was funny)
And thank you hurshy for insisting!

Looks like I'm stuck in the airport at O'Hare for about an hour on Wednesday, and then again on Monday helen

bye conx!

nm found it
jade-well, i can't give you any tips, haven't flown anywhere in a few years -hope you have a nice time there

now to ironsudoku, it's driving me crazy, third times the charm
{{{{{jade}}}}}, aww, my condolences
bye jilli
clearing the cookies fixed the problem in lickety, but I still can't find my socket wrench....
alex- don't overthink it, pretty easy for an expert, gl
thanks jlli, but I don't want to lose my browser history
i'm stalling, i brought "homework" from the office, a report I have to write, so I decided I had to fix the dishwasher first....
thanks, helen. it's been rough for everyone, especially my mom since he was one of her older brothers. And the tears haven't really begun to flow yet. I anticipate many more later.
LOL, jane!!! That is SO funny!
jill, if you can find the folder for lickety's, you can just delete that one....
LOL harp - no better time then to fix the dishwasher!
I have homework too! And I'm stalling! I have a presentation to set up for tomorrow.
one puzzle remains -- I actually have 85 words and 200 to find. Lickety says I have 114 words and 171 to find!
interesting, jilli
O.K. Deleted all cookies. Still unfixed. I give up
oops -- I see -- not all the words from the old list disappeared -- oh blast!
jade - you go ahead & give yourself all the breaks you want/need, you owe it to yourself now
I'm at 161 and no I think I should go to Lickety
im at 164! yay :)
Thanks, Helen. *hugs you*
why isn't "rager" a word, she asked ragily

I'm a new player. Hate to be a bother, but would someone explain to me what exactly, for example, "ni4/7" means? I assume it relates to a word beginning with "ni" but I can't figure out what the "4/7" corresponds to
4 letters and 7 points gst
god i love babble.
ni4/7 means a word beginning with ni, It is four letters long and the points from the tiles will yield 7 points.

ag 5/14
ni4/7- ni tells you what the word begins with. 4 describes the length of the word and 7-the points its worth
gst -- go down to Friends of Babble and click on AngelSong's link -- lots of info there
Once you start entering words, the words, the letters and the points will appear in My Word List.

Irradiated foods have nothing to do with radioactivity -- unfortunate similarity of words has scared many people off
Hi TO

there are 7 se's i am missing se 4/4
bi5/20 rhymes with the dark time of day

no sh7
ca5/16, before the 7/8 combo
the first 6/27
ra7 = most X-rated
Jilli, one who runs the circuit the most
two ca 6/27, both have to do with first ca4,7, one is a person who does it, plural, and the other one is someone who is the mostest.

It's topugh without Lickety -- I'm using bj's but have to keep counting to see what I'm missing
Another be5 = Biblical word for sired, so-and-so be5 ....
isn't lickety's working for you Jilli?
jili, if you have excel, paste text only of bj's list on to a spreadsheet. you can then copy and paste each set of letter in and manipulate them to see what is missing
i cannot do a large grid without bj's list
How are you doing, raslas?
i rarely can do the grid without a list BJ's or Lickety's
Hello Babblers. The Lickety list is showing my entries from last grid next to the beginning letters of this one (which don't match...)
still haven't got the se off the s in the left row can't figure out the elton john clue
es6/24 clue please? ty
Hi Relarion. yeah that happened to me too. I just deleted my old words, refreshed and then it worked just fine
Lickety said there were problems with the grid due to the time change in Australia today
TO, es+ slightly burn
Think of what a knight's title is, change I to E, and pl
lb, I figured that would work but I'm too lazy and have 205 words left anyway! So I'm just doing a few and they replace the wrong words as entered.
SIR elton john, raslas,
thanks dawg
ca 6/27 second one
yw TO
ok thx
ca6 = slyer
emmres, looks almost like the person you pay money to, w/o the s
TO and lbd -- Lickety's list won't come up for me, and I don't have excel! Bummer. Even if Lickety's did work now it would take too long to enter 224 words into it! So I plug along
raslas, do you have the sh6==most timid
yes i have most timid
ergh, that's like going listless Jilli, but ask away, and i'll be glad to help
thanks, but now I must dive again
bbl, good luck folks.

lol
ra 7/36, ra 6/21, & ra4/6
Rhymes with what you strike to start a fire, Jill
weird - when i type a word, the input box for typing words is no longer active - it's going to be annoying to have to keep clicking that box to enter words
ra7,36 = pl of ra5,14
i have Nascar
I can't seem to see more than five se4's and there should be six...any clues for the last one??
oh thanks, scrabbler

I'd ra**** babble than do housework raslas
I have one that sounds like french sixteen, but not "sir', no sir.
oops i meant ra 4/6
there are two ca7/40s
ca7,40 = baseball position, not pitcher, but ca7
emmres, sounds like the person you pay money to at the grocery. take out the s

that darn cursor should know automatically to go to the word box! lol
it's however cooperative you want it to be
a little of both sjf
thanks :)

ok
This is a group effort, sjf--welcome to the Babble Team. Well, we each enter our own words, but we help each other
you can ask for hints or you can move the chatterbox to something less helpful
i agree about that cursor it's happened to me a few times also
hi sjf. If you want clues, ask for them. Someone is usually here to provide them
61 to go!
Is the puzzle changed everday
it's happened to all of us. as you get to know us better we'll start sending you to the penalty box! :-)
If you look at who is online you will see names of people that don't ch**, but they are here to find words

penalty box autumn! chocolates!
I'm good for at least one per day
heh, i love that i can suspect a word is there, give it a shot, and sometimes it's there whether or not i see it
There are archives, but you can't enter words again, you could just print or copy the grid and do it for fun
raslas, no i don't think Dr-God saves the grids anywhere we can access it.
woo, all Gs grayed
How about Purdy's chocolates? Candied ginger, marishino cherries and hedgehogs?
