Good comeback mom---TY for a last laugh before bed

more phantom: cayenne.
and if it werent for pagans Easter wouldnt exsit
ah! so glad they've found a use for folks like me!
well that's not strictly true ... (I don't think)> Was reading about pagan holidays at Easter time, and there's not a brilliant match up
but that was only as far as I could see yesterday, am very glad to be told otherwise!
Opps that was meant to be the egg thing sorry, the pagan/ christan Eoster got mashed together to appease all the town folk long long ago
I celebrate Eoster
I celebrate chocolate eggs
sorry not enough coffee today
I'm with you Ata... chocolate...
I think we all celebrate chocolate eggs.
has everyone tried the new orange cadbury creme eggs? they're so good!
this is my first Easter that i won't have choc-covered marshmallow eggs--bummer
they are gorgeous! we had those last year, but I havent seen any this year :(
No eggs here
this is the first year we've got them
mmmmmm gorgeousness
oh, and I learned to make those fancy painted eggs last weekend, too - psyanky or however you spell it
Or - I had one last year... they are good.. but I think the best part is banging them on the counter
we made tie-dyed eggs with the kids earlier... that was a hoot
how about these eggs?
grey 8! oh, hi everybody.
katryn, I thought that's the oranges that break into slices? these are cadbury creme eggs but the creme is orangey
hi melon
oh wow, they must be fun to make. don't you have to boil the eggs in vinegar or something first to strengthen the shells?
hi melon
oops.. I was thinking of the slices.. havent had the creme ones...
hi melon
Hi Melon
The friend who taught me didn't, but she did say you have to use farm eggs not supermarket ones - and the dyes have vinegar in them
hi jilli - it looks like december here - except last december didn't even look like this! blowing snow - baseball cancelled.
hi muse
you can't cook them, have to either use them whole and hope you never break one until they dry out, or poke holes and blow out the insides
Boker tov Melon
oh that makes sense. wow. haven't done that for years. I should do next year
anger
angers
it was fun! hard to make straight lines though!
oh blast
the grid's not *that* bad, is it, Jilli? :P
makes me mad too, Jilli, whatever it is!
urf I can imagine!
boker or ARB - how has you pesach been?
*hanging head in shame*
mine came out very rustic looking, between being on a brown egg, and being done so badly!
7's: cl, in x2, li x3, re x4, si x3, sl x2, st, te, ti -- missing?
plus I had the little deer on it, hee, the deer are so cute
rustic is *good*!
my czech grandmother used to make pysanky (sp)colored eggs, along with some other great eastern european Easter treats. that tradition died with her, sadly.
crumby, too much food, but great, as usual. Naches from the grandkids, who need no prompoting to standup on their chairs and belt out the Four Questions.
they're not so hard as they look, actually
nan - that's all I have so far too... 18 7's
to dye eggs here we use the special greek food dye, its pretty cool both Othordox and Christan Easters have fallen on the same weekend
missing an se7
How was yours? Were you up to all the preparations?
yeah, the supermarket dyes aren't the same as what you use for psyanky.
ty mymuse
if you've ever done batik, psyanky are done *exactly* the same way.
I did all right, ARB. I have a separate pesach cabinet which makes prep easier. I think of Pesach as transitioning from winter eating to summer eating, so the emphasis is on salads & fruit. Of course, the fact that we go elsewhere for both seders makes it easy, th i miss doing one at home. Still, the one i go to is at a best friends, we've done seders together for 28 years now, from back when we ere both single. The youngest kid at this one was 11, and our own kids are 15 and up.

I did make a yummy chocolate mousse - it has olive oil in it!
don't know why twice. . .
Send me the recipe, please. please Please
thanks mymuse
phantom: cygnet
so I'm missing one of the in7's and one of the si7's.... is it too early to ask for clues?
Melon i like your chia pet bunny
it's on the New York Times website.
la la la si7 are doing it for themselves
thanks - it's from a few days ago but still apropos. btw, my 15 year old still lets me call him "bunny" - tho never in public! ;)
that was the one I needed, thanks ata, pass the fish!
only just found it too :)
as for in7, I have the one that means "eats", clue for the other?
does anyone have all 6 a's from the top right?
Melon, I just checked the NYTimes -- no longer on the net.
just 5
yes
I have only 5
only got 2 so far nan!
in 7, put it in the middle of something
on you tv -- the pip is an in 6, then plural
Ornith -- to put in
hunting for last one myself
yup, have all 6
me too hugs
got it
an 4 x2, 5 x3 -- missing?
oh duh, thanks
so we've got 20 of the 7's, then?
scrap that,
an6 x 2
an 5 x 3 and 6 x2 -- missing?
no an 4 from the corner
an6 x 3
must be missing an an 5, unless there is an ae?
Are there 2 an 4's from the top A?
ARB, if you Google "chocolate olive oil mousse" the NYT recipe will show up. it's some potchkeying, but worth it. i'm not a big fan of most passover desserts, but ths and meringues i like. to say nothing of just munching on bittersweet chocolate. we like "matza coffee breakfast", too. crumble matzah, pour coffee milk & sugar over - eat!
no shannon no 4's
nope, all an
no shannon -- my mistake
I have 2 an 5's and 2 an 6's, what else is there?
an5 x 3
my parents always used to make matzah brie (sp?)... scrambled eggs with matzah in them almost
an6 x 3
an 5 x 3, an 6 x 3
found it -- toda
got the 5
b'vakashah!
have the 2 plural an 6's -- looking for the last
oh, ornith, i love matzah brie, i cook it in lots of butter, seasoned w/salt & pepper.
aha -- got it -- top row grey
(my family is ethnic Jewish, so we have all the recipes even if we don't have the religion!)
I make a lot of different Pessach cookies , with coconut, chocolate chips, sliced almond. Then I always have the problem of what to do with the yolks.
custard.
I'm really sorry for being utterly ignorant, but what is so different about Passover meals? Is there something not allowed to be in them?
I didn't get it yet, though
yeah, ata, no leavened bread (leavened = yeast)
yup, Atalante. On Pesach, you cannot use typical grain products - only matza & matzah meal.
Is there only 1 kn?
oh ok! thank you. of course, now I remember that ...
it is a matter of ingenuity to eat like this for a week.
yes
yup huga
17 7s so far - not sure what i am missing.
mmmm... matzah balls.
found my last k... now for 1 more 1
1 more R that is
I can imagine! why is matzah allowed? sorry for probably dumb question :P
have 19 and don't know what I am missing
(and what *is* it? never seen it here)
ata, that's a long story. literally.
i made the matza balls with chicken fat this year - i think that qualifies as Jewish soul food! they wew insanely good if i do say so myself. . .
how many re 7's do you have hugs?
Can i ask what is how can i say this with out being rude but why do traditional Jewish People have Kosher meals and dont touch the serving plate with the spoon, can someone explain why
it looks like big crackers ata
Atalante, the commandement is to eat unleavened bread.
basically, when the Jews were fleeing Egypt, they didn't have time to let their bread rise
never heard of that infernallady
Atalante -- what is NOT eaten on Passover is leavened good -- in other words made with yeast. Matza is really a form of a quick baked dough of flour, water and salt.
there are other restrictions, no rice, corn products, beans.
Is it too early to ask for a clue for the an 6 I'm missing? I have the 2 plurals and 3 5's.
Not in alpha order, but the 7's so far are: re7 x 4; ti7; te7 li7 x 3; in7 x 2; se7; cl7; si7 x 3; st7; sl7 x 2 and cy7
I was watching this thing on tv and this lady said the food was kosher as long as the spoons didnt touch the plate, i was curious as to why
I wish we'd learnt more about other religions' customs at school *sigh* and thank you for explaining now
herin, that's totally screwy based on everything I know about keeping kosher
tx Hugs
That lady was being omore holy than the pope and Ceasar's wife, to mix a few metaphors
And ignorant
I had only heard of the pork thing thats why i was like huh
ooh -- don't have the cy
nan are there more than 2 re6?
yeah, the *big* kosher rules are no pork, no shellfish, no eating milk and meat together (meat doesn't include fish though)
I don't have the cy and 2 re's
fireworks
I have this thing where you wouldnt serve a Jewish person pork or unkosher food if that was their thing so why serve a vegan/vegaterian meat products
We have Kosher Vegimite
Yah DR
no -- just 2 hugs
wow grats DRB
YAY DrB
argh does that mean no lasagne??
wtg doc
Kosher Vegimite? that's just scary!
4 re7S? how? or will i take a fish to the head?
For one week, Atalante
Ata, only if you make lasagne with meat (aside from Passover)
4 re 7's, 2 6's, 3 5's and the rest are 4's
one re7 ends differently from the other 3
I can't find the fourth either, Melon
thank goodness for fish lasagne
well, there is a lasagn recipe that uses matzaha soaked in water. of course it is vegetarian, since we don't mix meat & dairy, and what's lasagna without cheese?
I'm missing one of the 3
melon, 2 have to do with someone sitting in place of a king, one is taking a nap, one is soaking flax
oh, I have that unlike re7 - and 2 of the "like" ones - have to find that 3rd.
Not really, its the same as normally, the Jewish Comunity got upity for Vegimite being producted on a machine that had non kasher products produced on it so the manifactures changed it
I don't have three like ones....
all vegimite is scary! :P
opps Kosher sorry
oooooh. . .tx ornith!
is the cy 7 related to the cy 5?
I had no idea about the not mixing meat and dairy. The more I think about it, the more it "restricting" I can see it. Idont mean restricting in the real sense though, just so much of what I eat would be banned under that
no the cy 6
DRB, we've only listed 20 of the 7s, can you list what 7's there are?
related to cy6, sounds like that famous chapel
anyhow I think so
Yeah, no cheeseburgers or meat pizzas
only cy 6 I have is the plural 5
have you finished DRB?
is it just cows milk? or any milk?
only 2 7s to go, then i can have sweet mediocre dreams!
I've only got cy4/7, the pl 5/16, and the 7/40 which seems related to me...
cy 7 sounds like famous chapel in Rome...
goat milk is kosher :)
I'm missing the king one that ends like the other 2
ata, all milk, though soy "milk" is ok AFAIK
cl, cy, en, in, in, li, li, li, oo, re, re, re, re, se, si, si, si, sl, sl, st, te, ti
ty chic
woot for goats!
thanks doc
ta, nan..
ty DRB, i have pasted this onto a "stickie"
oo!!!!!
yeah but melon, it's still milk for separating meat and milk, right?
oh, yes.
not so woot for goats. woot for soy!
as in "no stew the kid in its mother's milk"
shannon, neither king one ends like the other two. there's a plural and one that's the period Jane Eyre is in (I think....)
what I never got is how "chicken + eggs" is kosher but "chicken + milk" isn't.
ty Ornith for the 4th re 7
I make a vegetarian chili with a veg ground beef product, so i can add cheese & sour cream to it.
eggs are neither meat nor milk,
don't think I'll waste a lot of time on that 00 7!
eggs daren't milk. they're in the dairy case, but that's just a grocery thing.
I know that ARB, but since the meat/milk restriction is from the commandment "thou shalt not cook a calf in its mother's milk", the logic is weird
my husband got it for me. TY
oo 7, nan? hehe
wonder if it is Bondian?
i am so happy for microbial rennet, now there are gourmet kisher cheeses! cheese made with animal rennet is not kosher, according to most
Wow... I've learned alot just reading the chat.
TY everyone
lol nan
oo7 is related to some cy's
tx ornith - i think i had those once!
great clue!
ty ornit
darn -- still missing a 7
just missing the en now
I don't know all the fine points of kosher law, myself, my family doesn't keep kosher at all. but the "pareve" (not meat or milk) marking is really useful for lactose intolerants
one 7 to go!
me, too, shannon
do you know which it is melon?
same ending
guess what the en7 is ALSO related to? (just found it)
the en
yipee!
that's the one I need as well
still need that an 6
thanks DRB, we were all missing those last two!
np
ornith you have made my evening - halfway + all 7s & 8s - will clue the big words if anyone wishes for a few min - ten off to bed.
just over 1/2, so will close 'til this evening. time for some sleep. don't eat any "smart pills"! E. Bunny can be tricky!
yw melon, but thank DRB! I'd never have found them without him
ty ornith -- all the 7's and 42 to go
right with you nan, all the 7's and 47 left
anyone got the right side E and A?
DRB's the man!
1 7 left but 20 to go!
I have all the 7's and 8's with 36 to go, but I still have the e and a on the right with 0's.
18 left here
I have the right side all greyed
spotty and a ey4, ornith
well, the e isn't "eensy" - little spiders notwithstanding
need that one e for that hugs
aha, archaic pl ey4
there was a spider on my pillow when I went to bed last night. luckily, the spider-killing kitten was with me ...
oh wait, that's a different ey
anagram, ornith :)
reverse last 2 ornith
2 ey4s
doesn't come from that e ornith
doncha love cats who do your bug-killing?
there are 2 ey4.. anagram of each other
thanks ata and mymuse. no more zero tiles
got the e now, thanks, but what was the a?
especially when they take such obvious pleasure in it!
aha, got it!
shannon, what teenagers have on their skin
the a is pimples
they're fun to watch - don't know a cat over 2 that does, tho - seems like a young kitty thing
the lone a? -- pimples
doh!
yeah, my cat is totally the man of the house, kills bugs for me hehe
my old cat did it till he died at 18!
though he wasn't very good at it later in life ...
awww.
i have lazy, feckless cats then. with that, goodnight, all.
night melon
night melon! go and whip those cats into shape!
missing one y -- have urges
'nite {poof}
can anyone clue the an 6, please? I have 2 plurals
my cat is still young - turns out to be a mouser though, even if I have to finish them off by trapping them in tupperware
I cannot find the en 7 -- any help?
same ending as the oo
ARB, ends like the oo7
lol ornith everytime i see a bug i show my cats ( i have 3) im like hurry get it
same ending as the oo
ty Nan
3 an plurals
lol carra me too. "look! a bug! kill it! kill it!"
and MyMuse and Ornith
6's that is
it won't take the plural of the first an?
anyone have both y's?
no, shannon, but swap the last two letters
nm -- found it

I had an extraction this week too... but it wasn't a tooth
ice cream for everyone!
if no one has mentioned it to either of you yet, clove oil works very well as an oral anesthetic -- my former housemate used it to very good effect
OK, can't put that boy off any longer--he's definitely awake. Pancakes and oplayground time! Bye all! Have a fun Easter.
So long, Monkey -- Have a great day!
Icecream bad, its too cold warmed up might be a different story, I know about the clove oil Grey it works a treat
bye and have fun monkey!
for breakfast, Ornith? That's new to me :)
I should get some more, I gave away my clove oil and never managed to replace it
hey, if your mouth hurts...
Besides, for me it's still latenight

Multiple processor, I see

how's the pesky housemate?
and hugging the new blankie. ANnoying, more so now that we know that the shops are closed and he may be the only one with cash in the house
he gave me the minkie blankie but that still doesnt make up for annoying me

Hello Haz
hi haz
morning Haz :)
Hello there - another beautiful day again.
glorious...
lovely morning - been up hours - watching the grand prix and stuff - we are off on a short break in a bit - to Sheffield
AND this grid looks friendly.
It is very friendly, Haz.
i think it might be as wolf in sheeps clothing
not too bad so far...
kazz i have a crater and yes he is irritating, its like trying not to annoy dad when you know that he has to give you pocket money
I'm doing my instantfame impression at the minute, but I'll soon slow down, heh.
Fireworks
Well done ARB!
congrats ARB
I said it's friendly -- even with a K
rocs
ooh rude words
what rude word"?
lady - I was thinking them and saying them when i filled in the wrong box
oh
Morning all......hope you're have a peaceful Easter!
Good morning Flask.
morning Flask :)
we have no food in the house we dont even have jam for pancakes
Detoxing?
nope shops arent open and the gaping maw has eaten ever thing
Is the gaping maw an australian breed of animal?
lol!
I've not heard of any over here.
no its a house mate
So, is the housemate the one who is detoxing, or you?
it eats twice what we do yet puts half of what we do in the food tin
we are not detoxing at all we jsut dont have food here as the shops are a 2 min walk away when they are open.
You food gets delivered to a food tin? That's a new concept, we have to go to the shops.
oh the joys of housesharing... how I miss them... not...
put money in food tin then we buy food, no money in tin means no food in house
I am broke as i had to buy food for my house too, I live on my own but my partner shares, getting to the point were i wont come to his house till his house mate contributes
you could try cutting out the tin part... take moeny to shops, but food, eat food... leave housemate to own devices...
that reminds me of a time when i was housesharing - it was supposed to be with 4 other girls but at the weekends about 50 peopels stayed in the flat and they used to eat all my food and at one point they stole all my money as well
It would be good to detox, though, because then you wouldn't need money in the tin.
id like to but my other half isnt that mean plus it doesnt stop him, if its there it gets eaten, like a 500gr of margarin contain that he used in a week
Kazz i have had my fair share of housemates from hell thats why i live allone, im at my other halfs to rest up
housesharing works best for anarchists, who don't follow any rules...
a clue please for the second sl8??
I only have one, Flask.
* starts looking for sl8's*
Is it SL or SI, FLask?
one is the gerund of throwing... another is people who cut...
lady there is nothing wrose than fancying something when 1)shops shut, 2)you're broke or 3) both at once - I know exactly what thats like
is it worth 50 or 40 Haz?
I have sl8/50 - those who throw, and sl8/40 - those who cut, especially throats.
thats the one I have too.....
BUt that's two.
ty for clue to throwers
sorry....I answered too quick.....I have those who throw!......lolol
and thanks to you I now have both!
Hello. This isn't very challenging is it - or maybe it gets harder?
Hello lynxxx - it's great fun with all the sequences, isn't it?
hi there lynxxx :) ...flowing quite smoothly, bt it's always the last few that are the most difficult...
ok... time to get the papers... back later for the last 40... later all... :)
Bye sherb, see you later.
bye sherb
bye Sherb - have a lovely day
Back shortly.
anyone one got ci 5/14?
brb
ci5.14 to me its an oil but also a mexican name. I think he was the off-sider the the Lone Ranger
or perhaps ci + a Devonshite tea is ***nes & tea
(DevonshiRe)
Back again - interesting typo there, lynxxx. I can't see the tourists being fond of your first version!
lol - I really should read what I type before I send it!
It happens to us all - fingers won't type what the brain tells them.
using word check at work all the time has also made me more careless
Morning/evening Ladies, Reached 100 so time for a quick chat on this lovely sunny day.
Still, you're not exactly churning out the mistakes!
Good morning FMitch! It's a nice grid, isn't it?
It has been fun so far, love the sequences
good morning FM. we have had a glorious autumn day here too
I don't see that there'll be much need for clueing for the longer words, they just flow.
good morning and a good Easter to all the babblers!
Good morning Wolvie and Happy Easter to you as well.
Morning Wolvie
good morning Wolvie
re's for lori this morning I see. ;-)
Hiya FM - long time no see!
Yes, but they're fairly tame (the re words) so far.
I've become a stealth babbler
ahhh - i see - the chat does distract from finishing in a timely fashion. ;-)
So watch out what you say about her - you never know when FMItch is listening.....
So watch out what you say about her - you never know when FMItch is listening.....
So watch out what you say about her - you never know when FMItch is listening.....
hi lynxx!
on my best behavior - FWIW. ;-)
Sorry = the chat log is possessed.
It's never stopped you Haz LOL
True - I know just the right buttons to push to get you out of lurking mode!
ROFL
So, are you detoxing over Easter, FMitch or have you any chocolate laid by?

That's right, wait until my back's turned and start boiling kettles.
heh heh - I'm doing better now.
hi everyone
morning andree
Good evening Andree.
wow - found all the k's by myself - of course, they were all very straight forward. ;-0
WTG Wolvie Can't believe I am 3/4 of the way through and only have 4 grey boxes.
3/4? good going!
I only have 2 grey boxes so far
4 including the 2 that were already grey or excluding them? I have to get my jealousy in proper proportions.
morning all. is it an easy grid today?
LOL haz - I have 4 then
Excluding Haz
hi emti - seems pretty decent
i have 6 but this includes 2 boxes that were 00 in the first place
OOOOOOOOOOH! And I've used the calculator to work out that you're at 131.25 words. Good going!
Just how long have you been lurking?
You're not turning into a speed merchant on us, in line with your stealth persona?
3 gray boxes besides the 00's - sad to say, I should have more, so many are just one word. ;-0
I started quite early but had to stop to get the bulletin done. Using a calculator... you need to get out in the fresh air :)
Morning all - I only need 4 more words before fireworks and they are all 6 & 7 letters. Can anyone help? One is an 'R' from the top tile
good morning/afternoon/evening everyone
hi candy - do you have the kingly 6/7 combo from that r?
hi lore
hi lore and candy
The prospect of dividing 169 by 4 was too daunting. My primary school headmaster would be appalled.
Yes Wolvie
hey again
hi fern
hey herin hows the tooth
my only other re 7 so far is the gerund of re 4 - at ease
There's a 6 and 2 7 letter words for that kingly one.
The replacement king, plural, and the period of the rule.
ahh - ty haz - I had missed that
One down 3 to go
No problem.
What ever happened to mental arithmetic?
go candy go!
FMitch - I still force myself to work out what my change is going to be in the shops. But mental arithmetic died when they introduced calculators and stopped learning times tables by rote.
Now they 'explore' numbers.
thx for that 3rd re haz, i had missed that
Hello Andree, Candy & Loredana
You're welcome, Andree.
hi lynxxx
Fireworks
hi lynxxx

This was a nice grid. I haven't had time to babble for a few days and I have enjoyed this morning
You didn't babble on Friday then? It was a killer grid.
I finished friday, but not yesterday - never got back. Le sigh
No Haz. I had a market yesterday, so I was kn4/8 deep in cakes and pastry. I haven't been on since wednesday.
good morning all
hi pink
Was it one of the country markets, Candy?
Hello Pink
Yes Haz
hi pink and thx haz
hi wolvie and lynxxx
and andree
Do you have a stall quite often? I've been a couple of times to the one in Gracehill.
Andree - the teenage worry can be pluralled as well.
Hello pinkhat, by the way.
hi haz
I have 2 an 5/6 combos - ire and worry - clues for the other a's from the top right?
I go to 3 markets every month
Never the Gracehill one, though I have been there as a customer
I can see why you're kn4 deep in cakes then!
an5.10 an + canvas dwelling t***
ahh - yes - missed that one lynxx - ty
an6.18 add the plural letter to the an5.10 but before the last letter
Thanks lynxx - that's greyed another tile for me. FMitch isn't going to have everything her own way this morning!
ty again - that greyed that a for me
Or has she gone into stealth mode again?
Hi again folks, I'm back for a few minutes over my lunch. Then I have to work on a presentation I have to do in Dutch on Thursday.
8 greyed out but those vowels on the right are awfully empty
Hello Monkey

she has made the most amazing recovery we are all astounded
Oh Andree - thats wonderful!!!!!!! you had me a bit concerned at first. How fantastic!
and as she is the worlds worst patient they are happy tolet her home early
is she a doctor or a nurse?
with that good news she can be as grumpy as she likes
Andree i have been bitchy pants at home after 2 teeth out so multiply that and i cant blame her at all
sadly the surgeon did not get it all and in x number of years it will have to be done again as it is interfering with her optic nerve
for sure lynxx and fern
ooh - they have to wait that long, andree?
oh i have my first 8
have to wait for it to grow again wolvie
at least everyone know what they are dealing with now
WTG fern

OK
ty
so far (36 left) these are rather normal words. But I have the feeling the remaining ones won
im watching Rove and its gotten crapp

But at least this grid has a high proportion of normal words, unlike Friday's monstrosity.
Haz im trying to find this whole grid using just the chat and my brain. As for friday im glad i was at home
Will you have a self-omposed time limit?
nope
Never got higher than half
self-imposed that should have been - unlike great works of music which are self-composed.
Though not by me, I hasten to add!

cy5/18 someone who wont really belive something
Thanks Lori and Cait
YW
thanks lynxxx - another word i've never seen before!
I can't believe it didn't take clit. Must be because it's a slang/shortened version?
it's completely inconsistent lori
I agree. Not a big deal to me, just a curiosity.
hi eva - enjoyed the merp biography
I tried that a couple of time Lori
hi cliff. How are the kitties this morning? How old are they now?
Same here. Kept thinking I typed it in wrong. LOL
anyone have the single E from the last column?
babies will be 3 weeks tomorrow
Sorry Esprit, I have no e's yet.
er4.4. er + abbrev for another word for road
so does the shelter usually tell you what to name them? Believe it or not, when we adopted merp they had given him the name "Yankee Doodle" because he was brought to the shelter on July 4th. Hey. I'd have been ill tempered too if someone named me that!
that's the 2d column, I need the last column, but thanks
I have a low frustration level :-)
ey + when you die you go to heav**
I know a center that uses the letters of the alphabet. One litter has all W names including a Wobert
there's an alternative spelling of the hebrew letter "ayin", and then its anagram
Must go and do lunch...Happy Easter to all see you tomorrow..bye
later caitlyn
Have a great day caitlyn.
bye Caitlyn
hi all :) 9 to go
ey + **ver say die
the shelter doesn't usually care what i name them, except this time they requested all disney-related names because the mom's name is tinkerbelle.
go Atalante
are they hoping that someone will take mom and all the kittens?
Cliff that black white one Sylvester
Go Atlante go!
have the ey, need the E from last column
missing two top right corner a's......have the fury ones and the worry ones......
and the grey has to be baloo!
could everyone around the bable globe tryi visualizing some sunshine over vermont?
the mom won't be available for adoption until several weeks after the kittens are ready...they will spay her upon her return to the shelter.
But cliff you have to give back the kitties oww
MM - an + canvas dwelling t***
eva - very sunny here in NH
en+ *irl* just want to have fun
not fair cliff...we have little glimpses, but very meager.
MM add plural letter into that an5.10 but before the last letter
eva, will wave some Massachusetts sun your way!
Good Morning and Happy Easter everyone. Cloudy and cold in KY
herin - they are so much extra work (have to handle them as much as possible) that i'm exhausted by the time they go back to the shelter. i have 4 kitties, 1 dog and a hubby to take care of as well.
thank you inge
si6,18 please
G'd morning Mom. Several inches of snow here last night. Happy Easter to you too.

Bubba - not your brother
Good morning Lynxxx
Congrats Merk!
bubba- when you go out and have kids you have to get a si6/18
Congrats Merk!!
lots of work though, i know my friend is retraining her kitten
its a little itty ball of pyscho fur
Congrats Merk!
Lynxxx, thanks, got to left, BBL
Sorry I have to play and run, but I'll still love you in the morning ... it's Easter, my grandkids are calling and the eggs are waiting.
I never thought cats could be trained much, but then I volunteered at the zoo and saw how they trained the snow leopard, and sure enough, you can.
Have fun Merk - leave some of the eggs for the kids!
Have a great day Merk.
And be encouraged ... once you get all of the repeating patterns, it's an easy grid.
Have a good day with the grandkids, Merk
Um Eva this kitten didnt have mates and she has no social skills at all
my kitten Peanut plays fetch with jingle ball toys. he won't stop retrieving as long as i keep throwing.
Each child is a miracle and has a story, so it's another day I will cherish with all three. Bye.
I love my cat at the moment. She fearlessly killed a spider that was on my pillow last night
not that I dont love her always!
I was telling cliff last night about Merp early days and he was quite sociopathic too...with a lot of constant work he really changed.
That's great Ata! Merp doesn't do spiders, much to my disappointment.
its funnny how cats fetch
I got the re's all by my little old self. Yea!
I hate to greet and run but there are many things to do today. I wanted to pop in and say hello and send my greetings for a Happy Easter. I hope to be back later. Bye all.
in fact, since we have no kids around for an easter egg hunt my hubby suggested we hunt for the 11 or 12 missing jingle balls today :)
I had to point out the spider to her to startw ith, but after that her claws of doom swung into action
Bye Mom - have a lovely day
Have fun Mom!

can't decide if this grid is reasonable or horrible
this grid is lovely
Oh, it's not horrible.
at over halfway so far it seems quite reasonable...
I thought so when I raced through the first two thirds of it

these facts may be of interest to some of you: In the Midlde Ages people were not supposed to eat eggs during lent. The eggs were cooked to be preserved, and plant dyes added to the water, to distinguish cooked eggs from fresh ones. On Easter Day the eggs were then presented to the Children and parents invented stories, that they had been delivered by roosters, foxes, coockoos, and rabbits. After the 16th century the rabbits increasingly became the egg bringers. Probably cause they mulitplied so quickly. Though even in the 18th century some areas in Germany still had other delivery animals. But in the end the Bunnies got the delivery contract.
Peri - two of them are to do with eating, two to do with putting in, two to place within. All are normal words.

i only have three, and sure you have them... one who sl**** mud, vocalists, and those who lounge
Are there any beekeepers here? I've been reading about the massive exodus, deaths, and simple disappearance of bee colonies in 24+ states and around the world. There are conflicting reports of why, and no one seems to know. Started a couple years ago and is getting worse. ????
i have one se7, 2 si7, 2sl7, 1 st7
maybe it's the bee rapture
Some reports place the number at 70% of the honeybees now gone.
LOL hurshy -- but seriously, it sounds like something out of a science fiction movie. But then again, so does the IPCC's summary report released this week on climate change.
I read about that too, ch1212.. it is called Colony Collapse and is an unexplained phenomenon.. we used to keep bees but haven't in years.
first li 6/18, 7/28 combo please
ch... I'm not a bee keeper but am hoping to have a hive soon. Our friends have hives & one has 2 queen larve & will soon be swarming
The colony collapses because the workers leave the hive... so the queen and any bees that remain are unable to maintain the colony
I read that normally, if bees abandon a hive then maurauding bees take over to grab the honey, but no other bees are approaching the abandoned hives.
if the boat is tipping over it is a li6
pirate bees! lol
prismmgc2, your artistry is exquisite! You are very gifted.
ty ch... I didn't realize that needed to come out
ty
Economically, Colony Collapse is a disaster for apiarists who rent their bees out to agriculture for pollination
i have 4 sk, 2 sy, do i need any more of those
Aloy, I could see why. I'm suspecting a connection to climate change, especially after reading that summary report. Frightening. Well, good luck with your hives :)
there are 6 sk words
it's hard for me to think how that could be related to climate change
if it were the bees would turn up somewhere else where the climate suited them
thanks ch
no, we don't have any more hives, ch1212... but we certainly have orange trees and their blossoms depend on bees for pollination
Apparently it has to do with integrated biosystems changing -- it's complex, but there's references to different insect and animal changing taking place now. I don't understand it all.
yeah... i hope 8 years of bush has not pushed us to the point where it's too late for the planet
ok i can't find one of the sk's still... i have 2 4's and 3 5's
The report is at http://www.ipcc.ch/ and is called the summary report for policymakers. Hurshy, do you have the sk5/18 + a vowel?

Whereas I have so much to be thankful for. Think on, Inge, and be comfored
feel guilty about not going to church today, havent gone for months, and Lutheran churches in the US deal with you like a membre that didnt pay up,
then find another church inge
Just pray, talk to God --God wants to hear how you are doing.
yay--done with r;s. and I agree with terri
so sorry if it feels like that
Inge, the only person who can make you feel guilty is yourself. Away with it. Commune with God at home.
I think that is one of the blessings, you can worship wherever, whenever and with whomever you wish
the church seems often to have forgotten who Jesus was and what he preached.
The Church of the Holy Babble Grid welcomes you to today's services---oops, is that sinful??
and know you are not alone.
not at all.. (or it shouldnt' be, at least)
History channel is playing about His life, if we think we have it bad
I have trouble with all churches , because they are more like clubs, where they check attendance and donations. In Germany people pay church taxes and noone puts pressure on you
hey Scrab, I am laughting
Fellow members of the Babble famioly, welcome to whatever form of worship you practise here'.
all glory to God

later instant fame, have a great day!
Dorens - there are no t 7 or 8, you have the cl7 and 8, so it must be an s7 and s8 combo. There are the pain inflicters, those who cut throats and the tossers. My money is on the cutthroats.
you all enjoy yours as well =)
true magzel, though my monkeys were just getting good...
cutthroats it is, haz. you are wonderful
Great! I'm happy to help, or if you want to soldier on, just say.

Hi folks. I've been fiddling with the grid for five minutes at a time all day. I don't really have any time now; have to make a presentation in Dutch for thursday, in place of a quarterly final exam. But I wanted to wish you all a Happy Easter. We're not religious but holidaya these days are more than religion, they are an excuse to feel togetherness and take a day off. So happy Easter, everyone!
Same to you, MonkeyGames, and good luck with the presentation.
Thank you MG.... good thoughts to you and yours !
ooh yes ...|Good Luck too !
happy easter everyone.
Same to you, Jade.
thank you
Thanks, folks! I think I'll get it ready in time. Whether it or indeed I make the grade,a s it were, remains to be seen.
and to you too Jade
think positive MG...and we will think positive thoughts for you !
i love real words. fireworks
Congrats magzel !!!....I'm getting there ( I think )
Well done, magzel.
Thanks, Karys. The presentations are where it tends to break down; I can have a native speaker check over the reports but this is a social work degree I'm studying for so the presentations need to be without notes and personal, so my grammar goes all to heck, which is points against. But I do have to admit that I do better on things if I don't have time to stress out on them, and that REALLY applkies here!
sounds like it should be 'go from the heart' then MG, and you should do it in spades !!!
cognacs, magzel!
Thank you. Hope so. It is a presentation about my new apprenticeship position, so at least I CAN spout off extemporaneously.
you'll be good, I'm sure.
Again, thank you.
Just came back and see that the Pineapple Icon man is here!! Hi Takuma
howdy (hrm, I really need to change this icon...)
FIREWORKS!:-)

One way to stay warm is to cuddle a new grandchild!
Same to you Gwen.

When my older daughters were teenagers (my younger is 4 years younger) We dressed as Cinderella and her evil stepmother and stepsisters when we went.
I love to go & dress up.
TY Inge
It is fun...we didn't go last year but the year before we went on one of the hottest days.
That does seem to be one of the biggest drawbacks to that festival. Tjat's why I like dressing in corsets, bellydancing outfits & such.
had to step out for aminute, Rocky do yu have the one that sounds like a chapel in teh Vatican
With help, I think I now have all the cy's. I'm going to the list (finally) - I usually go way before this.

nice easter eggs jili...
anyone know why eggs and rabbits are associated with Easter?
(I would have thought maybe eggs and chickens...?)
I'd like to say I made them myself, but ... :)
why?
... well, because chickens lay eggs and rabits don't??
dah~
maybe the bunny's are symbolic with "spring fever"?

si 6 x4, sk 6 x1, sl 6 x1, st 6 x3 -- what s 6 am I missing please?
easter is associated with spring and rebirth. rabbits are associated with that as well i believe. look up "easter rabbit" or "easter bunny" in wikipedia, i'll bet it will have it.

more likely bunnies are associated with being 'fruitful'

YAY Jee!
you're from the 1830s? LOL
it is cute feather, and your k-gartners would really love it! i am going to read it to my mother's class this coming Thursday.
oh cool!
I have been reading the Janet Evanovitch and the Sue Grafton ones. Don't know how I missed reading all of those before...Never heard of Evanovitch until I played babble and go Nuttie's recommendations.
i just looked up the 1st re7 . . . it was from 1811 to 1820 in England, but sometimes is useed to cover 1800 to 1830 (so i was close!)
I read an Evanovitch book... it was a hoot! not really my genre, but definitely entertaining. :-)
not my usual genre either, but they are very funny and entertaining.
I love the Evanovich books, too!
evanovich!!!! yay stid!!!
I have read about 10 of them now, but haven't read the first two yet.
Nutster!

delish, sometimes they have chunks of fruit baked in it. really yummy
sounds good. i have fresh cream cheese danish we could eat now instead.
oh -- it's also known as frybread. here's how I make it. full recipe: 4 c flour, 1.5 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt (more or less), and enough warm water to make a slightly sticky dough. mix it with your hand until it is slightly springy to the touch. Then roll/knead little balls about the size of your palm, flatten and place into about 1/4 inch oil that is as hot as you can get it. brown on one side, then the other.
yummm!
i like to put cumin seeds in if I am serving a soup.
It took about three iterations before I had the "feel" for the texture.
more like a flat bread since no yeast in it. still sounds wonderful
yes, but the baking powder (if it's fresh, learned the hard way) makes them nice and biscuity. If the oil is hot enough (also learned the hard way) they are a bit heavy.
trial by experimentation! my kind of cooking
no shortening?
:-) yep. no shortening, because cooking in the oil fills that need.
I have wonderful cast-iron cookware. The best bannock I ever made was in the front yard on the burn pile (we have a lot of old logs from when we cleared the place) and it was so hot it si6 the hair on the back of my hands... but oh they were GOOD!
reminds me of the tortilla recipe i have. just take out the shortening.
i bet it was delish!
I think some people make the bannock in the whole pan, but I like the smaller ones because they are easy to serve and dip into soup
i've seen them both ways. i think i like the "personalize" size better. less i have to share! lol
I have also seen bannock recipes that want buttermilk and such, but I think that's gilding the lily a bit.
I think we lost nut.... she's over there munching on her doughNUT!
that's more like a scone. bannocks are real basic. or should be
ne plz
yep. I'm all about simple. the NE is the hawaiian goose babblet, Kristine...

it was 44 this a.m. brrrrrrrr
I talked with my dad around 2 today, and he said it was snowing fairly heavily. he lives in denver, near sloans lake
That's right! We've talked about that before.
we had a balmy 63 for a high today. unheard of for easter. usually we're buried in a blizzard
It stopped snowing shortly after 2-ish, and it cleared up, melted, but it's still pretty chilly.
hmmm did you send the cold down then? lol
hi everyone

Hi Jac!
hi Jac, bye Kris, blessings
Hi, lbd.
hiya jacula!

I had 3 biological and 5 foster teens at one time Jac ( :
teenagers...i believe in cryogenics for that very reason!
Hi grammaT, and Hell.
great fun, ggggggrrrrrrrr
:)
lbd - LOL.
For you or for them, lbd?
anyone get the 1st li4/4 and the li5/10?
grammaT - you did? Have you gone grey or bald yet??
lol yep
wrath, light and lofty then plural
there used to be a hair permanent with that name wrath
thanx
boy am I old!
wrathofcon - I've got any word you want. I finished some hours ago. Back here now because I got far too much sleep over past few nights and so can't sleep now.
one kid was enough for me. he turned out pretty good, if you consider all the times i wanted to leave him on the highway.
*chuckles* That's a thought, dawger.
lol dawg, know that feeling
lbd - Have you ever asked your parents if they also felt like that about you?
grammat, i remember that product. burned hair from it too!
my parents had 7 teens at once
for sure dawg
yup, my mom always said no. she learned from my sisters how to ignore those irritating behaviours
explains alot why my parents were nuts lol
EEK! 7... all at once? Is your surname Walton?
lol Jac
I really had a brady bunch life, I feel blessed
Did you ever hear your parents saying something and say to yourself, 'I'll never say/be like that!' When did yuo first find yourself saying/doing it?
explains why I had so many kids too, I adored my parents and wanted to emulate them
Hi, all!!!!
How nice, gramma....I wish!
Hi, pam.
Hi Pam
so many times jacula lol
lol jacs!
hi pam
I wish for all Jade
hiya pam
Jacula...I first heard myself saying some of the same things my mom used to say to me when my daughter was 2.
i can't imagine any kid not saying that jac, and lo and behold...you hear yourself saying and doing those very things!
hi, jac, helenk, lbd
Has anyone ever yet written the definitve book about parenthood? I think not!
Jac, I can NOT believe you are still up!
don't think anyone can Jac lol
break time for me
impossible to do jac. no kid is the same and parents have to learn by experimentation
bye gramma
later grammat
later, gramma
I remember having to put fragile/precious things up on higher shelves when friends' young kids came visiting with their parents. I thought, 'I won't have to do that when I have kids because I will train my children to behave better!' Yeah, right! LOL.
My sister and I are on the 6 week body makeover program, which means no chocolate for either of us....or processed sugar......and she ADORES peeps for Easter. Since she couldn't have any this year, my niece and older brother bought her the plush version of them and she just brought them in to show me...
Sound cute, Jade
how sweet jade! also being a buddy for the makeover
They are, pam.
pam - I've had loads and loads of sleep over the past few days and a couple of lazyish days to boot over the holiday. Lay on my steamer chair and read in the sun for the first time this year, yesterday afternoon. Hence, I'm awake now.
Actually dawger, my SISTER'S the one being the buddy. Mom bought me the makeover so that I could lose some weight for my new career, and Sissy is helping me.
she's a good sister Jade. how's it going for you? processed foods are bad bad bad
Tough over Easter time though, Jade.
Oh, I get it, jac.... you must need only 4 or 5 hours....
Yes, she is a good sister
my husband was recently diagnosed with diabetes and we've had to change the way we eat. he's got a real big sugar tooth...but he's lost over 30 pounds in the last 10 weeks
Umm....well.....This is actually the first "real" week *I've* been on it....mom bought it, I was skeptical, and asked my sister to look it over. She's got OCD you see. She tlook it over, and then got me in on it when I got back into town.
pam - Used to, but I need 8 hourse at least 3 times a week these days. I've had that and more over past few days.
Good for him, lbd
lbd -same with mine - sugar tooth & all, he switched to all sugar free stuff, but he just eats so much he hasn't lost much weight
If i get too much sleep, I am a mess, too, Jac... but I sleep so restlessly lately, that I aim for 8 every night....
I haven't measured for the week, and I am staying CLEAR of the scale. But I am already noticing that certain pieces of clothing I own are fitting better.
because of his diet, i've had to change mine too. i've lost 15, and that's not really trying. just watching the amounts and what we're eating
hello fellow babblers
Good for both of you dawger!
hi enomis
hi, enomis
Hi, Enomis.
Greetings enomis!
wow, lbd! And, go Jade!
earlier, my phantom was engine. Now, it's acrostic...
who is losing weight on Easter day>
hey enomis!
Well done, ldb and jade. Far too much sugar, starch and salt in many modern eating ways.
take a look at some of the diabetic recipes. also watching how many carbs you take in will help
It's kinda liberating, actually, pam. I mean....I fit into my size 12's again, no sweat. And the size 10's pinch just a LITTLE bit...(trying not to use a ti word)
EatingWell has some great recipes...
Enomis - on Good Friday some idiot stuck a slimming world leaflet through our letterbox! LOL.
it helps too tho, now that i'm not working to be home to cook and keep the processed foods at a bare minimum
really? Where do I find them?
slimming world?
Poor Jacula!
Yay, jade, that is great that your clothes are fitting that much better
The books? EatingWell is a magazine and they have also put out some cookbooks,
lbd - At last! A convert to my little homilys about preparing and eating food from fresh and not adding too much 'stuff' to it.
*grins*
Jade you can find diabetic recipes on the web as well as in bookstores.
It's fun! My grandmother died 9 years ago because of diabetes and numerous problems related therein. I swore I wouldn't live that way.
i've always been antiprocessed foods jac. Hubz on the other hand loves sugar, fat, salt, breads lathered in butter and jelly
Once you've given up eating ready-prepared meals (microwave meals or ping food, as Haz calls it) you realise how much fat and salt you can taste in it when you do have any.
And with my new career taking off, I need to slim down. The camera adds enough pounds without my help.
I love the bread--with no spread. My problem is portion control, not the food....
What is the career, Jade?
And with my new career taking off, I need to slim down. The camera adds enough pounds without my help.
I'm in radio and television broadcasting.
Sounds like something in front of the camera (which adds 10lbs), pam.
portions is a biggie too. supersizing has warped our sense of balance. 4 oz of chicken is really a healthy portion of meat
which station jade?
i love that episode of 'friends' - where they are watching old home movies with the FAT monica & chandler asks "exactly how many cameras were on you?" LOL every time!
duh,... thanks, jac! And, thanks Jade, for spelling it out....
lol HK
portion-sizing is not so much of a problem here in UK as in USA. Things are moving that way, though. Nice to see that MacDonalds finally gave up and closed down after 25 years in our local market town.
Greetings again all.
16 left to find.
hi Minski
Does anyone have the EN6&7?
go minski go!
I'm at KYGO radio station here in Denver, and I am trying to get on with ABC as a weather anchor as well, dawger.
ya know lbd - you are so right! when i was 125lb in college i would always order junior whoppers, that was enough - somewhere over time i started order the regular sized whoppers, never dawned on me the huge difference. i don't eat them often but now i'm back to the jr. whopper ALL THE TIME
pam - wasn't being mean! I'm sure you look fine and DON'T go trying for size zero for the cameras!
keeping my fingers crossed for you jade for the weather anchor! kewl beans!
jac, i was referring to your response about Jade's career!
I am NO zero, nor will I ever want to be
Yes, I realise that now Pam. My advice still holds though.
en6+7, en+ the prevailing cy word then plural
Glad to hear it, pam (re size zero).
Does anyone have the EN6&7 and the EG5&6?
good advice it is, jac
Tahnks. Got the ENs.
en6 & verb form 7 = en + fluid filled sac.
eg+ Eastern Standard Time
thanks. got them.
Size 0 isn't the goal, jac. Being healthier is. And thanks for the good wishes, everyone. School is almost over, and with it a brand new career is on the way....
those were 4 weird words.
jade - pulling for you to get your high profile job - just don't forget all us 'little people' when you hit it big :)
eg5 & verb form 6 = to discharge from the body.
definitely Minski!
Weird, Minkski? In what way?
You can do it jade. You've got a whole life and career ahead of you!
Thanks helen! I will probably be in a smaller market to start with, but I really love it, no matter how big or small.
And playing Babble actually helps with learning new vocabulary words to use in broadcasting.
I thought the entire grid today consisted of normal words.
jade - oh god NO! don't go babbling on live tv - they'll lock you up for sure, LOL
There have been a lot of Babbleicious words in this grid.
GO RED SOX!!!
it's pronouncing the really odd ones that will be fun for you jade! lol like pffft and arrgh
right, like the oo's are normal words???
Hell - you're right there!
you don't use them every day?
brb...have to see a man about a guitar.
every other day?
Jade - they are if you've studied human biology.
LOL
time for me to head off into the sunset. sweet sleep or happy wake up to all! see you all tomorrow
niter lbd
'nite dawg
Night, lbd.
night, lbd
So, has everyone finished the grid?
no -- three words to go
I'd better check out Monday's theme soon. My red rose looks blurred until you click on it.
43 to go here - so far listless, but slowing
80 left, and that means I am more than halfway done, so I am happy
Hell - for an old pro like you this grid is possible li4/4less and I mean that in the nicest way. *grins*
jacs - thanks for pointing that faux pas out in such a nice way :)
pam - How much longer have you set yourself to do the puzzle for>
LOL - Hell!
*****FIREWORKS!!!!!*****
oh, i am off to read/sleep any minute, jac
yay, minski!
go minski!
pam - what are you reading at the moment?
My last word was zit. For some reason that set off my funnybone.
wd minski !!!! yay!!!!
Don't say 'your post'! LOL
niters pam
Lol, jac... Non-fiction, Jonathan Kaplan's The Dressing Station...
I think it's pumpkin time for me also. Nighty-night all.
night, minski
'nite minski
Minski - don't talk to me about funny bones; I bashed mine twice in the space of 3 mins on the low ceiling beams of the attic I stayed in last weekend. 350-yr-old cottage. Gorgeous!
good nite minski
'Night, Minski.
*not going to ask why jacs elbows would be bashing the low ceiling, pic in my mind too funny* ROFL
pam - not heard of that one. Will look it up. I'm reading 'Suite Francaise' at present.
Hell - I will send you a pic of the room and then you will see why I bashed my elbow just pulling the duvet over me.
Suite Francaise is on my short list, just finished Allegra Good man's Intuition
I've been trying to get them without help, but I give up! Any clues for the first two, in6 and in7?
Suite Francaise is amazing!
okay jacs! before you dash my image though, there was a handsome man involved in the bashing, no?
Suite française is the title of a planned sequence of five novels by Irène Némirovsky, a French writer of Russian Jewish origin. In July 1942, having just completed the first two of the series, Némirovsky was arrested as a Jew and detained at Pithiviers and then Auschwitz, where she died of typhus. The notebook containing the two novels was preserved by her daughters but not examined until 1998. They were published, in a single volume entitled Suite française, in 2004. The sequence was to portray life in France in the period following June 1940, the month in which the invading German army rapidly defeated the defending French; Paris and northern France immediately came under German occupation. The first novel, Tempête en juin (Storm in June) depicts the flight of citizens from Paris in the hours preceding the German advance and in the days following it. The second, Dolce, shows life in a small French country town, Bussy, in the first, strangely peaceful, months of the German occupation. The third novel, Captivité, for which Némirovsky left a bare plot outline, would have shown the coalescing of a resistance, with some already-introduced characters now under arrest, and under threat of death, in Paris. The fourth and fifth would perhaps have been called Batailles and La Paix ("Battles" and "Peace"), but these exist only as titles against which Némirovsky had placed question marks; necessarily so, since, at the point at which she wrote, the events that would eventually end the War had not yet happened and could only be guessed at.
Hell - Sorry, no. I was sharing my room with a female friend who was in the single bed on the opposite side of the roof, taking note of what I did to bash my elbow, taking care not to do it herself and laughing at me.
very moving jacs
Good thing she's a good friend! She'd have had a black eye otherwise! LOL.
ok, bedtime for this bonzo
good nite pam
nite pam
any clues for the first in6 and in7?
Just dropping in to wish you all a belated happy Easter
There was just one handsome man there that weekend (until my other half turned up to collect me, that is). He was a titled gent but, unfortunately for us females of the world, not inclined towards us. Perfect gentleman and perfect host, though.
just realized my i is grey - in6/24 - to take in, eat
Happy Easter, jilli.

Hell - I've e-mailed you.
Thank you, katrynwise!! That's fireworks for me!!!
WTG Angel
katryn - It did to me, but then I've got all the words anyway. re7/48 for anyone else who hasn't - think Jane Austen romances and the time they were written in.
Now it's time to get my kiddos off to bed - first day of school after a two week break, tomorrow.
Jac - that makes more sense than my clue... thx
jacs - how do you spell - claustrophobic? eek, that staircase look narrow & good thing you didn't bump your nose on the ceiling too!
wd angel!!! & niter
'nite all
gonna hit the list - 21
hi is anyone there?
Congrats taffybach!
clue for eg6,24, anyone?
Hell, it was not only narrow (i.e. each stair not broad enough to fit even a small adult, modern-sized foot (size 4 or 5 on) but was also shiny/slippery and the penultimate 3 and 4 stairs also had a dangerous downward slope! Others who have stayed there before us went up and down the stairs but once, had a few drinks and slept on the floor downstairs rather than face that staircase again! At least me and my friend made it up and down those stairs, drinks or not, 2 nights running! LOL.
thank you darling
our brave jacs!
As for claustrophobic (which I am), Hell. I thought that when I first went up there. Then I found the window between the 2 beds. PHEW! Might have had to have made a scene if I hadn't have!
hi everyone.
eg5 - opposite of "to eat" 6 is plural
eg6/24, sewell is the verb form of eg5/14.
i always ask for the window seat on airplanes - make a big diff to me, even though i can't open it
Thanks, Jacula, got it.
gnite everyone.. cant hardly keep my eyes open
y/w, sewell.
Hell - I know just what you mean!
ty too, katrynwise!
good nite kat & sew
'Night kat & sew.
Hell - it's just the being able to see out sometimes, isn't it?
more like ALL the time, lol
goodnite, helenkeller!
nite, Jacula!
sew - who is your sister?
Hell - I'm proud that I forced myself to go down into Hellfire Corner (WW2 ops area many 100s of feet below the White Cliffs of Dover). I did say I was claustrophobic beforehand and so they did send down an extra guide to take me back out some quick way if I panicked. I managed to keep it under control though.
awesome jacs!
There are lots of underground caves I'd like to see - no, not the things potholers squeeze into, but I need to practice more self-hypnotism before I visit them.
I have two sisters who play babble! How did you know I even have one?
ha jac! i work in a cave every day!
God! Panic attack here just thinking about the whole potholing experience.
sew - i am psychic, good, no?
Nut - shurrup! Don't want to know. LOL.
also, i read your profile, LOL!
hiya nutters!!!
Very good. One is kkiln, the other is sbaba.
i recognize both those names sewwell
lol sew - yes, i know them both
Theyve been playing for more than a year. It took me a while to leave my life behind.
sew- i hear that! the grid takes up way more time than i want it to, or think it will - & welcome!
Thanks. I never admit to anyone how much time it takes.
Welcome, sew. I don't recognise either of your sisters' names, but I usually play here at different times.
addict alert!!!
Prepare to have a cobwebby house, sew!
Red light and siren sounding, Hell!
Oh, it's worse than that! I stay up half the night!
What' that old song? 'Tell Me Something New'. LOL
Yeah, yeah. I also have a good friend who's hooked --Fiber Art.
LOL
ah yes - i've seen alot of fiber art lately
Im proud to say I got her hooked!
Seen that, lately, but not chatted. Not been chatting lately.
not only an addict, but an enabler too! ROFL!
9 -sigh
Is there a recovery program?
I was watching a film called 'Farce of The Penguins' earlier, recommended to me by myy daughter. Other half got bored by it and went up to bed. It made me laugh though.
sewell - There's a site called Babblers' Anonymous that was set up to do that and for us to chat. No one seems to go in there much, except to get BJ's stats, these days. Pity!
sew- uh, no, not that i know of, i guess that explains why i'm still here
we're doomed!
lol
9, Hell? Need a hand?
5
2
Should I hope that Hell can find the last 5 on her own or should I be evil and hope she needs my help for the penultimate or very last one? Cast your votes here NOW.
Oh bugger - she's down to 2. No glory for me, it seems.
1
LA LA LA LA
Go, Helen
(Dsitraction noises)
firewords!
BUGGER!
lol jacs - nice try!
Congrats, Helen!
Erm, I mean WELL DONE, Helen!x
x
I had to at least try, didn't I, Hell?
xxx
That was fun.
What next?
Ok, I'm back again
hmmm almost an hour to the flip
need to knock out these last 46 but quick
clue for st5,10?
I only have 82 to go!
st 5/10 - if you walk on a pair of these, they can make you 12 feet tall
ahhh, thanks, helen.
or other st5/10 s+ to color
need more?
YAY helen! ;-)
Yeah, but too many to cope. I'll have to avoid more of my life tomorrow with the new grid..
not really lurking, just sat down for a sec.
clue for ti6/18 & 7/28 please?
otherwise i am going to tackle some of the dished & have some pup-time
hiya stiddy!
tee-heee = ti6/18
ti6/18 & 7 verb form = a Frankie Howard word. ti**er ye not! Means snigger or giggle.
who is frankie howard?
thank you HK & Jac.....
\Hi, stid.
Know the feeling, just sat down for a sec - happens to me in here too, at times.
Hell - Google Up Pompeii.
valerie bertinelli - size 14 is fat according to kirstie alley & the new jenny craig spokesnicolerichie
Another British camp comedian.
Aw, eff off, Hell, re size 14 being fat.
kirstie alley hasn't seen size 14 in years and jenny craig is just trying to sell memberships
hi babblers
i didn't say it!! i'm a size 14 meself!
need help with the 8's over here, please
hi o2!
did I sound defensive? sorry!
hi helen!
;fat' is in the eye of the beholder. Incidentally, did I mention that my now British size 6, daughter, has recentely broken up with her latetest shitty b/f and now seems to be downsizing again because she could not seem to please him? It doesn't matter to her what the rest of us say or even what her ex-b'fs tell her.... AAARGH!
I was on earlier but the chat was too fast for me to read, much less join
8's are all plurals of 7's
The thing is, sizes now have no consistency and the higher the price the samller the size. What used to be a size 10 (slender, 24" waist, etc) is now about a size 2, so a nowadays 14 is about a 20 old-time
32 left
playing beat the clock
jac, her shitty ex-bf doesn't know what's going on... size has nothing to do with heart (or skill in bed, not that you want to think about that!)
now it's time for you to 'ff off' - are you calling me fat??? size 20??? no way!
hi, back again
Beat The Clock? Game of life that. LOL.

cl 7/40 - the cross-dresser on M*A*S*H, diff sp. & pl
I have to highly recommend the new puppy diet... I am still eating exactly the same, but have gone from 1 or 2 walks per week to 1 or 2 walks per day! pounds are melting off!
you'd think I would have gotten si4/6 sooner since I do it every day & for a living......duh!
oh sorry that was jili, not jacs, well nm then, so sorry!
O2 - thank you for that. The bed thing is no prob - the anally retentive b/f IS! He wantsa to eff everything in sight when/IF (big if, since he hasn't tried too hard to study for it) when he gets to Uni.He's just to put it quite simply, an Ars*hole. That's his nickname in our house and among their group of friends, who have been great to hear over all this. Just wish she could see it! She spent last evening with ex-b/f (who is 'The One', could he just SEE it!). We live in hope.
hi jade- what do you think about that snowy easter? crazy, huh?
new puppy diet, lol
absolutely O2...

Hello jilli...
nice, jade... only 108 left for me!
ci5/14 - that kid, he was a friend of mine, so said War in their lyrics. Failing that, a song writer once left his heart there in the last part of it.
o2 - she'd better do!
lol. great clue jacula
the hardest part of loving people is watching them walk their own path, hmmm?
I remember reading something about War when I lived in the Los Angeles area, and it said that War wrote songs about really important stuff like lowriders...
ACK! 16 left

Wow....according to the rankings, I should play more often and actually FINISH.....
Cue music for the original; Titanic movie.
re6/36?
oh-oh. I play frequently and rarely finish
I'll bet that shows!
Orchestra plays while ship sinks...
plural of the re before it
