lady - that really wouldn't help anything - if there are issues on the server or ISP of the server there is no solution
It was outs control for quite a while there, saying only 1 minute left, chat box shrank to 1/3 normal size, freezing for 10 minutes at a time...
outa control I meant.

just getting a look at this now -- 18 K words? Tell sprite to go away and not even look at this one!
hello everyone

hello, and goodnight, I know its time for me to go to bed when I read an entry wrong... (I almost posted, no Jilli, there's only 342 words, not 18,000! Then I realized there are 18 words that start with K. Duh me). Sleepy time!
here we go again... frozen and can't enter words, going to refresh... hope I can get back in

Hi KK
Good morning/evening all. Looks like there have been a few technical problems this morning?
good morning all
Good morning granny!

Hi Haz...seems so. I'm using L's browser and just keep adding words - it seems to save them up and enters into grid when that is available (?)
i've had probs haz/lynx but i thought it was my server but seems to be everyone
Hi GrannyM & Taffy

morning jenniepennie
hi jenniepennie
very easy granny but i find i am not thinking so much anymore but good in one way when the grid is huge and there arent enough hours in the day we have a chance of completing the grid .. not complaining though
pea
test - has this gone down again?
yep!
it's getting ridiculous - mine connection is constantly on/off
up down up down :(
Using Lickety Browser is good - using Lickety Add button - which adds to both Licety and Babble - seems to save the words and send to Babble when it is 'working'. and if that doesn't can still use the Send Words to Babble at the end
me too lynx lickety clues not linked to www so i just keep adding and then send to babble when system up
Halfway and slowing down. BBS after a break
yes the site has gone silly
yes the site has gone silly

(yesterday's grid had many fewer words than today's)
Hi giggle
oooooh few too many today for me i think
300 is my upper limit
granny - don't be afraid- it just changes the orange back to yellow - try it
Hi Lickety. Hows our girl?
Hey lynxxx - I sat next to her today when she was slid into a machine for a bone scan. pain is getting worse - but she can't be in a better place.
the Babble server's ISP is really straining - that's going to affect us
I hope what she is 'putting up with' pays off and they can get some good positive results for her. pls pass on my best wishes.
I have been lynxxx - it means so much to her, thanks.
lynx/haz u there?
I am GrannyM
Lickety, what does the "speed" do?
oops, I see I have some very squashed moggies on my icon. You can see it properly in my profile!!

Good morning Babble Team.

Im not going to get this finiished
Last night I had 2 words to go and Babble was acting up so I couldn't finish--I needed help with or5 and es7---waaahhhh
That sucks Scrabbler
I am trying to see what is new with v7

or***to talk formally
Fiber Art--I meant yesterday's grid--my last 2 were or5 and es7 and I needed clues but the site was going wacky
pink, I'm on version 7, I went to it from my mail, and just changed the version # in the address bar
Sorry, Scrabbler--all that work!!

i didn't think of that, thanks lori
i keep seing the name matthew-not good!!
Just a suggestion pink. :-)
is there much ofa difference lori between the 2?
pink, I just got here a few minutes ago, and to be honest, I haven't played with it because of the size of the grid.
ok
ose
not alot of difference
ae 8/45 please?
changes color of boxes to yellow if u want
sorry!
***a moment of silent reverence for Lickety's fabulous enhancements*** :)
lori have u used speed slide yet?
would any1 have a clue for ae 8/45 yet? please?
Could someone tell me what is new with Lickety's page and how I get there. I haven't been around for a while. Thanx
What is speed slide?
ae8/45 is a lover of beauty
ae + **reet + w*** my whistle + 2nd vowel
That's the only ae 8 I have so far Lynn
ok ty
in lickety add...on bottom of
Bichon--if you e-mail lickety, his address is on his page, he will e-mail you the latest version, which seems to be daily.
it is the only ae8
granny, no I haven't. Trying to crack a hundred words, then play with this a bit (in theory)
ends like a lover of sports, an ath****
Is that the one Lynn or are there more? I can go looking
So what does the speed lside do?
thank you Scrabbler
ae + **reet racing is illegal + at*l***s are in excellent physical condition
no thats the one ty though
seems to add words faster scrabbler...at least i think so
***Thanks Esprit for the better way to clue the ending, I'm not awake yet*** :-)
:-)
Hmm, but how can I FIND words faster? Oh, caffeine = speed slider
I've got one eye open, working on the other
haha.....yes...the chemically induced speed slider
lol scrabbler its the only way!
granny, Thank you! I was wondering why I was having micro sleeps in between word entries.....
yw was afraid to try anything earlier cause of isp problems
although, maybe it's my connection, but it's not a whole lot faster. I have a definite lag on word entry
I don't like K words, I just decided
me 2
its is so slow no matter where i set it ....so I am back to old way... I have 4 more words entered..then had to go back..and re-enter them...
I agree, Lori--I see no difference with the speed slide
If Lickety shows up, we should mention it.
Lynn, did you get the ae?
Waaah, shower time then work, waaahhh.
no
Awww. Come back soon Scrabbler, and have a great day!
i'm sure we'll be here when u get back...have a good one
must be a bad day for me lol im still looking
I shall return tonight. Bye folks. Enjoy the day! **wondering if I can use speed slide to rush through the work day?**
Lynn, if something looks nice, it's ae*****ically pleasing + 2nd vowel
LOL
enjoy your day scrabbler
***pouting on Scrabblers behalf***
ugh..LOOK at all the c's....< crying in coffee>
a for wh9 please?
***not looking at c's***
lol lori tried everything im sucking this morning not awake i guess
there are 40 t's has nobody clocked them?? im dreading them
ae + **op at the red light + w*** your whistle with a coffee + 2nd vowel

Dunno' what it is. It sounds like a bird. Maybe. Or not. Hey, thank heavens we don't have to know definition. LOL

So now you know!

***Doing an experiment, ignore this***
***Doing it again, continue to ignore***
carleekat how did your chicken go yesterday what did you decide to fix?
ah..did chicken chili but changed it entirely
turned out as a "mum you can make this again" recipe
that is good they liked it how did you change it?
same ingredients ( except instead of peas did a can of corn and a small can of kidney beans ) but did on stove like a chilli...and made plain rice separately
sounds good
added some chilli powder and cumin... and served the chili over bed of rice with hobonera corn tortillas and a side salad
I'm hungry now
hey
was yummy... ( and sprinkled the grated cheddar overtop when serving )

It has been burping and pausing all morning... and the time went down to 1+ minutes several times!!
I thought it was getting better!
Same here
am adding a word the OLD way..and sending clues over..the old way cus the lickety add here is painfully slow... and I am waiting about 10 seconds for the site to unfreeze to do ANYTHING
I sat down earlier and ripped off scores of words without looking at anything but the grid, and all I got for my efforts was a block of maroons telling me that the words didn't take. LOL
carlee, that's been happening to you a lot. I've had no delays this week, like what you describe. Weird.
yeap..that happened here too...
( must be my internet provider...)
am just sticking with the old way.....
I've used Lickety add since I got here, and only had a slight delay ***knock on wood***
my add bulk to licketys page is working but im not using that new version thingie of licketys as my computer has been freaking out too much
I hate to say this but it is working great here
Eency weency word entry delay, but other than that AOK here

Scarlet - put the cancer stick ending onto a word for din or uproar
still got 9 x 7's to go as well
Thank you, lynxxx!
no 8----a small sound
hello Haz !
Thank you, Haz... and good morning to you!
And good morning/afternoon all. I've had major difficulties in getting on to the site today. I'll have to play catch-up!
Haz, it has been having a nervous breakdown this morning...
ae8,co8, in8, pe8ra8,sh8,st8,wh8
Thanks, AnnieB!
everyone has had the same problem Haz - its Babbles server
Hi Haz, I struggled to get on here earlier so gave up, logged in about 5 mins ago
hi haz....
So I gathered - poor computer has been roundly criticised. Let's hope it doesn't rebel.
Hello carlee - you've been busy anyway!
i have?
Will be back in a few minutes...
have to leave for a while, see you all later
Yes, you've got all the 8's listed.
bye scarlet
Later, AnnieB!
take care annie
how are we all this morning?
I think we are all diving...
Hello evanadine - pretty frustrated with the server, there have been problems getting on to the site today.
I didn't have any probs, but 342 words!!! THAT's a prob
no fun, haz. i havent had trouble yet, but its probably the kiss of death saying that!
ma7.48 is either an experienced woman or one of 3 men bearing gifts
ar7/32 clue please? I have the first 4 letters but can't see how to extend it
It seemed to be much earlier on but fingers crossed it stays up and running.
ar7/32 - a poison
ar7.32 ar7 & old lace
thanks haz and lynxxx -- so simple -- I was headed in the wrong direction (as usual!)
The qr6 is similar, just different ending
thanks
hi back - not getting ma clue
hodwee kids, what's new since yester??
Hello BDG - can't think of much apart from babble approaching meltdown this morning.
Hi TO - think of the 3 giftbearers - what is one of them called - invert that compound
ok got that - first part eludes me
looks like plenty a words today 8-)
ty lynxxx
cool..thanks lynxx
haz, meltdown???
phantom: manioc
how many words today?
342
Major problems with the server, I think, BDG - we kept having it disappear, or not process words...
I must be silly tired TOwl - an 'experienced' woman would be ma7.48. but I think I should just go and get some coffee and be quiet now
thanks une :-)
(sending cosmic energy to the babble server) ommmmm
yw :-)
i'm having problems withbthat ma7/48
sheesh, it won't take sheesh!
hope you all got the KA6-7 combo of martial arts. :)
try it with an n instead of h at start, gwen
yes, eva--one of the few "k" words I actually know! LOL
i'm having problems with that ma7/48
me too movieman, but i also have 234 words to find, so im not worried...heh
the nativity story features 3 of these bearing gifts.....now...switch a singualr compound around..last first...first last
sn6, another silly word. I'm *sure* Dr Seuss made this one up LOL
btw, ty
holy cow..somewhere I managed to grey a box
the only m word i know that has something to do with the men bearing gifts is "magi"
OH!! since its an M7 word, i was thinking "magii"
( singular of men MM ..its in ur NAME)
yes - totally confused by clues for ma7
movieman -- its the 3 Wi*****
hey, aorta isn't in the puzzle! that's a first LOL
think "smart"
put the masculine part on the front + make it singular :)
got it!!
got it now!!!!!!!
ooh, found an 8
ty for very convoluted clue, evandine
thanks, evanadine . . . would never have gotten that!
Good morning, babblers!
book sale at the library -- don't want to miss the GOOD stuff . . . BBL
good morning all! Holy big puzzle :)
mmmmm, used books
finally greyed out a box!
am getting tired of big red banners telling me a word can't be added
good morning, all. 50 words to go.
really? "sheesh" isnt acceptable??
Hello Angelsong.
angelsong, damm you're fast!
grrrrrrrrrrrrrr....and storms all around me...
That is too fast. I barely got 50 words let alone that to go.
almost halfway . . . !
Final 15 and my brain if fried... right after the Mexican gentlmen is an se5/10 -- clue please?
ch - same as next se5/10 but different vowel ending
Lose the middle vowel in the Mexican man.
thanks chris, and if I had the next 5/10 I would be even more grateful :D!!
GAHHHH! Another mid-week monster puzzle! *dives in*
se5/10 - some things just don't make *****?
AWK! I thought I tried that! Thanks, Chris
just had a look at your icon, ch. It's Stonehenge - I live about 20 miles from there!!
how cool is that! I have not been yet --- but Scotland, England and Ireland are next on the must-see list
been to england about a million times since my parents are from there....been to ireland only once, but i wanna go back! and never been to scotland...
well somewhere along the way I managed to get more then 1/2 way and grey out a second box...woohoo...
so..did anyone watch idol?
my sister lives right on the north coast of scotland about 10 miles from john o' groats - very bleak place
I'm half Scots, half Irish -- Campbell, MacFarlane, Durkee (Durgy), McKim...
...and so want to go tour the old homelands :)
any clues for the AN6, please?
lizmac, it's a kind of overjacket, I think -- I have one that folds up into its own pocket. WIth a hood
an6/30 - as worn by trainspotters and birdwatchers
The ancestry I mentioned goes back to 1630, so I'm sure by this point I'm related to half of the U.S. :D
ch1212 - the McKim you mention is probably McKimm - a reasonably normal name around here.
Probably so, Haz. Durgy became Durkee, and so on.
It makes for frustration I would imagine when you're trying to trace back and people keep changing their name!
clue for the ka6/30 that follows the plural martial arts please? It does indeed, Haz -- fortunately, much of the work and frustration was done by my elders, for which I am grateful.
Make it the plural of ka5/18, ch1212
Think of diamond weight, ch1212
i like my gold to be 24 KA****
TYVM
of course -- thanks
Oh so tired
So sorry, Lickety...
Not surprised, lickety -- you've worked very, very hard on the site today, for which we are very, very grateful !
I'm not surprised, lickety.
need to sleep
oh so go to bed lickety
Have you been back and forth to the hospital, caring for children and ratcheting the site...? Small wonder you feel fatigue!
at least it was raining right on start of soccer training, so I didn't have to manage 11 8 year olds for an hour
Is it morning with you, LIckety?
ooh, lickety, i know how THAT feels -- i teach dance part time...
oh $$$$ it is - thanks Haz, I missed that turn
Oh $$$$ - Guess what ! It's my birthday! I just realised!
happy bday lickety!!
Big Wake up!
hahahahahha - I truley missed that.
Well, happy birthday! And award yourself a hug, and a REST from us!!
Yes, MrP told us late last week. Happy Birthday and sepcial hugs from Babblers on the other side of the pond, Lickety!
thanks Haz! Going to have a long lunch with mrp.
yes, go rest and enjoy!
Happy birthday, Lickety.!
Or *special* even... LOL
Let's all sing: Happy Birthday to you...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.....<extra pompom shake for lickety >
thanks, Nite everyone. Catch you all after 7 hours of sleep
Happy Birthday, Dear Lickety........
happy birthday Lickety!
That will be nice - hopefully you can relax. And please, Lickety, your work has been fantastic but you've done more than enough. We don't want mrpresident to come home to an exhausted husband. She'll blame us!!!
Happy Birthday to YOUUUUUUUUUUU!!! (Nig finish)
That is, BIG finish :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUUUUUUU

I can't get that clue haz....
haz1158 call me daft, but can you simplify that for me as stiil cant see it sorry
in9/66 - in plus a sword holder, plural
ME10 = ME4/5 + TH6/21
thanks again haz!
OH> duh!!! got it thanks!
You're welcome - I'll sing out if I find that other 9.
do we know stats for the other 9 yet? (havent looked at the list)
AE8, lover of the spiritual aspect; CO8, the most rough; IN8/9, put sword away; NO8, a tiny noise LOL
scarlet said a word! ;)
PE8, a fruit and an examination'
Let the lashings begin, evan!!
i shall beat you with a wet noodle!
RA7/8, sounds like rodents in their pimple years
wh9 - think crops
SH7/8, that which surrounds
ST8, a stellar proboscis

hi, folks. what entertaining compound words today!
Wow, great, evan!
Evan, borrow from the IN word...
Hi, Takuma\
ARe the fires under control today, or do you have to live with the windows shut, Takuma?
Hello Takuma.
ahh, had the similar 6-7 combo...just gotta add a vowel in there. :)
hazy today, but no falling ash or smoke in the streets like yesterday
got all the 8s, 9s, and the 10, thanks to you guys... thanks haz and scarlet!
sky looks only slightly post-apocalyptic ;)
That is good for your lungs, then, Takuma. You're welcome, evan.
(now just 17 7s and about a hundred other words left to find...haha)
You're welcome evan.
certainly is, and my eyes!
grayed out the P! thats my first grayed out box! w00t!
es 7/32 please
hey all. i downloaded lickety's browser last night, which seems grand, but i can't get the "lickety chat" to work... do i have to be pro to see that?
es7 - is the same as ae8 except for the first letter.
all of licketys upgrades sound amazing! but i babble mainly at work, and im not allowed to download anything here... :(
course, im not *allowed* to play games either....hah
No, jesdraggon, it's just a case of hitting the SHow lickety chat and following the instructions.
hehheh. babble's not just a game, or so i've been told... it's an addiction ;) so the worst they can do is put you in rehab, right?
hey haz, when was the ae8 clued? haven't gotten that one yet
never mind
true...i wonder if i could file for workers comp?!
just got it. naturally ;)
i've tried that.. but it doesn't do anything after i enter my name
ae8 - one who appreciates beauty above all, one of refined taste.
You need to put your name in the spot where it says 'Gabber ~)
*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~* Congratulations! You've completed today's puzzle!
cognacs, mm!
congrats movie man
Well done, movieman!
Congratulations MM.
i dunno haz.... it just sits there and says "loading" in the line above "name" and never changes... guess i'll play with it more after work.
Sorry I can't be of more help, jesdraggon, but I'm sure you'll get it worked out eventually.
but haz, if you clue well, you should be able to solve any problem
's ok, not your fault computers hate me ;)
That's not quite the case, Takuma!
2nd tile grayed out! w00t!
<yawns widely> afternoon, everyone!
Good afternoon, Nancy Boy!
afternoon NB!
Sorry to waken you, NBoy. Do we need to whisper?
<greets all with a salute> no need, Haz...I'm still getting over my weekend, lol : D
The weekend? I shall ask no more. I want to stay innocent.
getting over your weekend?? but its WEDNESDAY!
Eva, which means... it was SOME week end 8D
youd better be preparing for the coming weekend then!
aren't the pigs children ride on playgrounds called 'seesows'?
Well...this last weekend was a bank holiday, so there was one extra day...I'm normally better than this, I promise >.>
clue please for the se6/18 that immediately follows the se6/18 that means transducer?
BRB, big cuppa tea this morning!
se6 - think in terms of six
I always miss that one -- thanks, haz.
Thank you, Haz!
You're welcome.
Of course, I was being amazingly self-obsessed then - how were everyone else's weekends?
We're so old that we can't remember.
LOL, Haz! :-)
We had a grand time exploring around Amherst, Massachusetts this weekend -- found a huge book sale, lovely shops and restaurants, and plenty of sunshine. Thanks for asking, Nancyboy
'weekend'? we don't get those in graduate school.
lol :) my tiny tiny mind can't process any one of you as being elderly, I'm afraid...they can tak' yer age, but they cannae tak' yer personality! You all seem young at heart..?
that sounds great, ch12! - I loved amherst when I visited
Only philosophy students give up weekends, Takuma --- graduates in other programs get them off :D! (Nah, just joking... my beloved is in grad school too, and so time was precious this weekend)
BACK!
heh - when you don't get weekends off, sometimes you have to just *take* them off ;)
evanadine - love your icon!
takuma -- thats what i had to do last week! my weekend was so busy with things i had to get done (and my allergies were kicking in so hard!) that i "worked from home" thursday + friday last week, just so i could get everything done without my head exploding!
thanks ch -- it made me saw "AWWW!" when i saw it!
So...... redundant question, your head didn't explode?
it imploded a bit -- all kindsa stuff was leaking outta my nose...heh
Hmm, on that note, I think it's been enough babble for awhile - Going to get back to writing, so I can go to the shore this weekend
(You've inspired me;)
good luck, all!
Bye Takuma.
Enjoy your labors, Takuma, and we'll enjoy a report on your trip to the shore when you return!
Thanks and bye, Takuma :)
hello again im back from shopping
hello pinkhat
Hello pinkhat!
hi ren8
Hi, Pink :)
hi pink just got back in myself..hi all again
Spent Friday on an 5 hour bus trip with 50 screaming 5th graders, as well as two hours in a small cave with the same screaming 5th graders. Got to San Antonio after that just to find out my friend wasn't home, drove 7 hours home. Drug two kids and grumpy hubby through a muggy Six Flags with loooong lines for 12 hours Saturday. Spent a whole paycheck in two days and pulled a muscle in my stomach that evening. How is that for a relaxing weekend?! (Sharing my misery).
Welcome back, pinkhatlil!
You see - you're better off not remembering!
Bunny... words fail. <hugs>
hi nancyboy, scarlet, grannymaxx and bunny
bunny, one word: Arrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh!
bunny, just read about your weekend. It
someone get bunny a beer!
hi haz
's a wonder you can play scrabble today
LOL today, I sit here at work, wastin' time, and the MR is on a bus with screaming 4th graders and ushering them around a former pres's house.
I won't even detail Sun - Wed with 5 kids, a screaming neice and my gut hurting like this, lol.
Beer alone is not strong enough! <mixes a cosmopolitan and pushes it over to Bunny on a napkin>
babble is just what you need, bunny!
Nancy Boy, you have the right idea!
I just look at 342 and my day feels like it could be the calamity of your weekend
es 7 please, missed the earlier clue
need es 7/32
magzel - the es7 is the same as the ae8, minus the first letter.
Thx Nancyboy, I'll tuck it into the fridge til after I take the twins to school :)
nm got it
lol, Bunny :) just tuck it away before I drink it...! I'm not easily impressed, but the idea of a pink drink is marvellous.
heta
OKay, time I got the second walk of the day done. I'll probably look in later. Bye for now.
Bye Haz
bye, Haz
Have a good time, Haz :)
A walk sounds great, wish I had a stroller or wagon.

We've had very heavy rain this evening, but it was dry during the day.
sh4/5 - on its way to being the sword holder or the cutting device
Paige and I were outside this afternoon and both of us are sunburned as a result. I feel like a clod for getting her burnt so soon. Sunblock didn't even cross my mind. IDIOT!
si4, co6, now all we need is tangent. hahaha
sh4/5 - plural version of females.
i always forget in the spring minski!
Today was the 1st day of the year over 80 degrees.
thx Haz!
shears
You tend to forget just how powerful the sun is. We can't compete with those temperatures, but the sun can still do damage quite quickly.
We are going to Target after Gym Class tomorrow to buy some sunblock.
for both of us.
The feeling of burnt skin is not pleasant, that's for sure.
Especially if you are 2 years old and don't understand why you hurt.
Oh, poor little one! And you feel just awful, I know.
Minski, do you have an aloe plant, if not it is a good thing to have, easy to grow and the gel is good for sunburn
has BabbleRabble been on this week
She's up from her nap so will be back later to finish. 82 words left to find. Time for dinner, a bath, and a nice massage with baby lotion. Maybe some Tylenol if she is really uncomfortable.
saw him once a few nights ago peri
Aloe doesn't grow so well around here but I will buy some aloe gel.
does anyone have a 9 letter word??
Gotta go. TTFN.

Bye Minski.

sn5/18 - the sort who would tell tales behind your back
the only 9 letter word I have is the plural of the sword protector, with a prefix that is not "out".

how do you transfer the words to Lickety's? I've just been typing them in one by one.
stephie, there's a bulk add feature way at the bottom
that bulk add rocks!
highlight and copy your list from babble, paste it into that box
i'm actually using his babble browser, which is a whole different beast. as i enter words into the grid, they also get sent to his list.
I have not tried that yet, but sounds divine!

74 of them!
ugh, i hadn't added them up that way!
For the babble browser, how do you get bak to it after you quit? I mean... Should I leave this on all the time? Now I confused myself...

niam, make the stiff hair Latin word
Ah -- the drought here isn't helping the fires
between the Easter hard freeze and the drought, the Governor has requested the federal government to declare an agricultural disaster in the entire state.
that's a tough bit of weather. we had a late freeze, but friends reported veggies making it through. Oddly, there've been dangerous storms come within 30 miles or so
on a few occasions, but nothing here or north, so the drought goes on
in8?
maybe I've been staring at the grid too long... is "leave as is" a word in the grid Une? can you give me those letters?
nut, in + put your sword away
in Eastern Tenn over Easter weekend some places went down to 16 degrees . . .

ty, nice grid, but a tad long for my day. I'm glad to be finished. My hubby will be, too.
I like the innovations because I work offline a majority of the time. It makes it so much faster/easier to upload it to Babble when I finish.
se 6/18&7/28, is a combo?
innovations?
well I find with LIckety's version 6 I don't chat anymore, casue I am so busy switching words, etc.no time to socialize anymore, and that is one of the important parts of babble for me
down to 15
grammaterri, if I'm looking at the same one, the answer is yes
Inge - Popping by - Turn it all off - and go back to the normal way ;-)

His essay is about personal privacy vs homeland security/domestic CIA/FBI
nice light topic there scrabbler
evening all
thanks lbd
hi inge2
hmmm, his essay is as dense as the grid, LOLOL
ahhhhh....lbdawger ;)
He really doesn't even understand the big picture (do any of us?) but I am here to correct grammar and "dress it up" with "big" words.
cute pup!
But, it can be whittled down: THere is no personal privacy when homeland security is used to subvert the intent of the CIA and the FBI
:-) inge2
ROFL scrabbler!
kar
I always tell him, "Peter, the thesaurus is your friend. You have to impress your instructors."
sorry
bbl
I never used one, Scrab. Hated them, thought they were cheating. I was such a strange kid
Well, Scrabbler, I'd say you can give him some doozies to use from our Babble grids. Hebetation, for example.
Can he use this Franklin quote? They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security
noa
It's not cheating, you just remind yourself of other words that can be substituted
sheesh, sorry! i'm obviously monkey typing too fast here
Oh, I know that now Scrab. As I said, I was an odd kid...
Profound, Pam--I will ask him if he wants to use it
It is one of my faves, scrab
But Benji didn't know the mentality of terrorists
Sure he did--Benedict Arnold...
and many others. Terrorism isn't new--look at the children's crusade and others...
Here is another Babble word---"The terrorists are shogunal"
wee, 85 left
True, Pam, but the contemporary situation is global and widespread
88 for me, feather
Go Go Featherbee!
hehe, watch out inge2, i'm competitive
go feather and inge2
to play diablo's advocate, during the revolutionary war, with the machinations of the french and the germans and the mercenaries, to the americans it was global
where is BabbleRabble these days?
Hey Scrabbler....just looked up from the grid to see that you nephew is writing a paper on terrorism. My son wrote a book on terrorism. for sale at Amazon.com
And, being the classicist that franklin was, he knew of the spartans and the trojans , the egyptians, the phoenicians... he knew of many terroristic actions
And WWI and WWII....these Islamic fundamentalists are scary folks though
don't know inge2
link, SMD?
Sorry...that sounded like a silly ad!!
What is the title, SMD?
To me, all fundamentalists are scary. Look at what the Stalinists did in the archipelagos.......
Let me look...brb..
And Hitler had a fundamentalist mentality---yes, history is full of scary people in search of power, control and money.
to me also, Pam. There is nothing more dangerous than being convinced that your actions are beyond questioning.
"Peace and Prosperity in an Age of Incivility" At one time I had the link to the book but that has been awhile!
I would like 264 clues, and please don't question my request.
HA scrabbler
i keep skipping the ones i get stuck on and hope somebody comes in and asks for them while i monkey easier ones
OK, time to go help Peter. SMD, I will check out the book--TY.
later scrabs
Here it is. Sounds very interesting and learned: http://www.amazon.com/Peace-Prosperity -Incivility-William-Davis/dp/076183248 3/ref=sr_1_1/102-5163831-0687351?ie=UT F8&s=books&qid=1178757875&sr=8-1

Ok Scrabbler...let me know what it is about...it is way over my head!! 8)

I like Lakisha but don't think she has most open personality to get her star status. I think Melinda or Jordin will win, but Blake is also interresting because he is different and seems to have a lot of fans

hi stid...not out a lot but my HUGE adventure for the day was my hubby took me to get my hair cut. I was like a dog who go to go for a ride in the care!
Hi Luw
I bet you feel so good in the new haircut! Have been thinking of getting a trim myself. Looking a bit shaggy as the short "do" grows out.
lol kristi, and did you hang your head out the window?
pretty close dawg...I'm running very hot and he was toasting me out temp-w*** (on top of being excited)
I know, shorter hair...you have to stay on top of it more
31 left, hoping to finis, it is 9:30 pm here

Nika, our 14 1/2 year old Dachshund mix heard that tomorrows icons are featuring Dachshunds. Reluctantly she posed for her picture!!

hi, again, all
um.... down to 68. Where you at, feather? *hand to eyes, looking at horizon*
i couldn't finish last night because the site wouldn't work for me
hi pam, feather, une
Hi stid
that's a long time...do you have another furbaby?
i only have 323 to go
hey, ping :-)
sorry! here now!
31 left
ping.....
many of us had that problem ping, but I had managed to finish before dr g's server went wonky
yep...I got one word in last night and then big crash...guess I'm finishing now :)
i have 2 rescue mutts now :-)
yes une...do you have a new friend now?
oh...just saw answer
how lucky for them Une!
Need a different kind of help from some of you ladies... My daughter is doing dispersion diagrams for her french math... and I need a few waist sizes and shoe sizes from some of you
yes pam?
rescue mutts are wonderful -- unpredictable, but nice.
ha, want my waist size???? lol!
oh, as in hi there, ping!!!
shoe size 71/2 waist...i used to have one.
waist is 34, shoe size is 5.5 for me
shoe size 12, hug
before my current pups and after my springer I had an adopted blond cocker--she was a sweetie too
Stid, did you see our Nika? Here she is
there will be no sharing of waist sizes from me (pushing 6 mo pregnant) but shoe sizes...you bet! :) feather will tell you hers
hi pam!
lol, i shudder to imagine kristin!
rescue mutts are no more unpredictable than breeder mutts, stid...
or in European, the shoe size is 38
she has to figure out if there is a correlation between women's waist sizes and shoe sizes
feather, maybe we should share ours (just to throw off the math!) :)
ladies, when I was pregnant, I had a four FOOT waistline.... *folds arms* beat that!
i'm tempted to haul my butt of the couch and go see
wow, stid....
waist? ugh.... 34
no there yet stid...but at this rate... (I was this size when I gave birth last round!) but still 5 pounds heavier...do figure
hugs, my daughter has a little waist but wears size 10.5 shoes!!
jeez stid, was the kid stretching to full lenght?
not that that is bad, per se... just would like to lose some more weight
*go
more muscle, kristin, from exercising your brain with babble.
imaginary twins stid?
oh, I know there isn't any correlation at all, but she has to prove it on this grid
my mother in law sure thought it was twins... LOL
ok, widest part around is 37 inches, foot size is 7 and 1/2
do you have enought hug...I can likely give you my pre-measurements if you like
well I have a big waiste, but only size 8 shoes
k feather...be right back (want to see if I can beat you because I suspect I can)
i have no clue what i was pre preg
need more numbers ladies... please????
shoe:11 waist 26
bye yall
when My waist hit 40 inches with our first one in the pre-technology age, My doctor predicted twins
wow feather.... you are STILL tiny! LOL
bye uncman
i think i'd be predicting a vasectomy
LBD--you slay me!!!! LOLOLOLOL
bye, uncman
pam - what shoe size are you?
bye uncman.
just for comparison, i measured the smallest part right now, right under the bra line before the bump goes out, 29 inches. i imagine that's around my pre preg waist size
before I was pregnant, my waist was 26... my monster child took care of that, though.
ha! 37 3/4 (but I did just do the dinner thing) shoe size 7.5
shoe is 12, hug
how big was he when born then stid?
lol, 3/4 inches difference! pretty cool!
lbd, your prediction was not far off... *grin*
He was 9.5 pounds, feather. TOO BIG. His brother was an almost-reasonable 8.5
thank you all very much!
feather...I measured 30 weeks (at 26 weeks) at last appointment...they think we have a biggie on our hands!
how long were your boys stid?
my firstborn weighed in at 9 lbs 2 oz, can you beat taht stid
oh boy kristin!
and his sister was 9 lbs 10ozs!!!
daniel was 6 lb 7 oz, 19 inches
all these big ones are boys...take note feather
I was my mom's 1st born in 1960 and weighed 10 lbs, 11 oz
I was SOOOO huge.....
oh inge, I empathize... WOW.
Wow, all of yours were big, inge!
golly pam!
you all are giving me back and stomach aches
daniel was pretty tiny
My first nephew was 11, 14 but my sister was diabetic during her pregnancy
any clues on wo6,30
that is tiny...Dylan was 1 mo early and 6 and 2 ozs 19.5 long
i got the first one
hope your daughter's project goes well, hugs
OUr third one had so many problems taht the Doctor considered 5 lbs 10ozs as good enough
(didn't seem tiny at the time)
sudoku, make badder
yay idol!!!!
LOL, kristin
can someonw give my a clur for a 10 letter word
sudoku, change the last letter to the snake
I don't remember what the kids' lengths were. I think the older/bigger was about 19 inches, the younger/lighter was 21
hubby says Blkade will bite the dsut!
my 2 wo6/30s only differ by their last letter sudoku
But, I am still sorry for your loss, kristin. I am sure this pregnancy is bittersweet
it is pam and thank you...we will rest much easier in just a few months!
okay, back to finding words. Feather? I am now at 50...
clue for pe8,45 please
no idol spoilers! we're on PST!
thank you

Looks like the Michigan girl will go, not Blake
me too, back to the grid, just too tempting to measure bellies!
well, I know that part of the elder child's size was the age issue. TEN months gestation. The younger was precisely 9 months.
bye dawg...enjoy
bye lbd
thanks aknitter
ten months??????????
I was just under 9...
back again, hope to finish
10 months, stid???
hi, peri....
they won't let people go that long anymore stid...that is really when you run into cord accidents
10 mo....holy crow!
daniel was induced right before his due date
they induce them when they go over 9 months don;t they?
they're supposed to, inge, but the midwife didn't believe me. She kept thinking I was just a pig when I was eating, not that the baby might be bigger/more mature than they expected.
hi peri
my hosptial pretty standardly induces at 41/42 weeks and if not, you go in to be monitored nearly every day to make sure the placenta is still functioning properly
stidmama, i went ten months too, and my grandmother was often 11
I took our first one home with the instructions tht there were to be no 2 a m feedings, only 2 ozs per week wieght gain
