*munch munch* thanks ren.
hi ornith
just doing my old boss a favor
well, poor Jill's "saga of the gate" has been long and painful. I am so happy she finally has it!
plus going to regular job tomorrow?? wow

i'm a boss - will someone do me a favor?

i've got 2 jars of nutella

hi pinkhat
no, and I may be getting her a job where I work - this place is killing her
Hey there Jilli - just read back a bit glad to hear you finally got your gate!
hi lil!
the dark shadows movie....slightly watched...a little pirate sister
yup stid
thanks flosey!
hi pink
so what is this favor you need ren? *interested look*

I first found out about nutella on homestay in Spain - opened my lunch and was all "OMG chocolate sandwich!!!11!"
morning to you grannymaxx, stidmama, ornith
distracted -- watching Inspector Morse...
ren needs you to go over and chase the vampires away, stid :)
hi pink

Howdy, stid!
*off i go to the box* sorry guys
hey frog! how's baby tadpole this evening? I LOVE the pics on your blog!
did it get rid of the vampires?
i think so ad.......*turns ceiling fan on real high
Tadpole's been a day sleeper this week. And actually, the lack of peaceful sleeping sounds coming from the baby monitor tells me maybe this would be a good time to go see if Mamafrogtaco wants me to take the wee one downstairs to chill out with me for a while...
sounds like a loving thing to do frog...
sadness! it doesn't accept yoda.
maybe yoTa?
or jedi
ok, bedtime, back tomorrow morning, goodnight all

sorry
hey melon!!!!
night flosey -- hi dilly!
hi to everyone I missed
hi dee
hi melon!
hi judy
hi volley
and hi to everyone else too
i dee
seriously, i'm trying to lose weight - there are no cookies in my house; cottage cheese w/pineapple stands in for ice cream, etc.
hey ren, helen, pink, saphy
yeah, hi to all the new folks, not going to try and catch up from being in the bathroom!
Hi jilli - just tuned n to seeif I liked the number. I do,
yeah, trying to lose weight too, but going slow cause I can't stick to hard diets
Must be a Star Wars grid - Yoda and Jedi
ha. "majel" is in the grid, wasn't that the name of Gene Roddenberry's wife?
hi stid & everybody - gotta turn in - i have a big for me drive tomorrow - cleveland to youngstown to see afriend's daughter's ballet recital.
i lost 80 lbs NOT sticking to a diet ornith.
me too, but I'm starting late
so, maybe a "sci-fi" grid!
70 lbs in less than a year
Hi Dee... didn't see you slip in
melon, try sorbet or frozen yogurt in place of ice cream or even just smaller portions of the real stuff - the cottage cheese thing doesn't get the cravings
enjoy the recital, melon! drive safe...
nite melon
night melon
Hi HUG!! I have missed you!
care to elaborate ADHDWL?
aaargh. have all the L's except one
nice ADHD, I've only lost about 8lbs in a couple months, though fortunately I only need to lose about 25-30lbs more
Judy, you up for quick IM?
congrats AD
stop eating meat, nothing processed, no fast foods
sure stid
How did you do it ADHDWL?
fruits, vegetables, chicken, fish any quantities
and a big fat hershey bar every sunday\
it was over 20 years ago
And did you keep it off?
i gain my usual 10-15 lbs every winter and it comes off every spring like clockwork
yep... kept it off all these years
oh yeah, I'd lose weight on that too ADHD, I'd be too frustrated trying to shop! It's WholeFoods = ExpensiveFoods or Superfresh = NotSoFresh here plus a tiny kitchen and no dishwasher
ADHD, that's close to what I'm doing, except I eat a little bit of meat - gave up all cookies. basically, if I can rip open a package & stick it straight into my mouth, it's not in my house.
and a minifridge, which is the worst
hi, ARB.
i ate fruit like crazy... i HATE HATE HATE, get it? i DESPISE, LOATHE cooking
yeah, fruit is good, except for my whole fridge space thing.
lol my kinda gal AD
I like cooking, just hate washing dishes!
i was in the same boat when i did it, but i bought food avery other day
i ate a lot of tuna-stuffed tomatoes
ADHD --no starches at all, zero bread?
a couple real good diet foods, melon - soups, carrots+hummus
watch the hummus
interesting. i like to cook, and find that preparing healthy food adds to my enjoyment. I live by the big box of Earthbound baby greens. Typically I start a salad with 2 cups of the baby greens as the beginning of a salad.
see, I won't eat tuna OR tomatoes, heh, I'd have to cook to follow that diet
in summer i ate a half a watermelon every day lol
watermelons are yummy
not really... i nuked frozen chicken
Good morning all now you are using another four letter word instead of "work" you all using the d word
stuck at 89
hi ursh
hi ursh
hi ursh
i had to have the chocolate candy every sunday (i'm more addicted to chocolate than to babble)
ornith, fruit doesn't go in the fridge - other than berries.
heh, freezers make everything easier. *glares at minifridge with mini "freezer"*
i have chocolate once a week.
i have chocolate almost every day
goes in my fridge because I get fruit flies otherwise, melon
yeah, I have my chocolate ration everyday - only dark chocolate though.
oh, yeah, evil little things.
i swear cutting out the red meat helped the most. i felt great. ya know it sits in your stomach for 3 days before digesting?
i'm into Chocolove's bar with candied ginger - 65% cacao.
i wish i like the dark chocolate... it's only good in mounds bars
mmm, candied ginger.
are we still at 4 7's called?
i go by the maxim that no meat portion larger than a deck of cards, and half your plate should be veggies.
although I just discovered Baker's Chocolate comes in 1oz wrapped squares, which makes the portion control easier
my friend loves candied ginger... i don't like that either. just give me a bag of hershey's kisses and i'm happy
i've only got 4
still 4 here
have you seen the 8 zillion kinds of hershey kisses that came out all the sudden?
i must be behind the times... i've only got 3 7's
stuck at 96.
I've only got 4 too
how many words?
really... when i was introduce to the caramel ones i gained 7 lbs in less than a month!!!
me too, stuck at 102
143
ok, anybody got both j words?
The ao6/18 is eluding me most fiercely...
the cherry cordial ones are really good
i must admit i still like a plain old heshey bar, or with almonds. i like the slightly gritty texture.
oooo i know.
how do we know there's an ao6/18?
but my faves are still the plain kisses yum
only 1 j word here
was just wondering the same thing, Monkey
there was an ao6 on yesterday's grid... maybe looking at the old lickety's?
Zwee...thats the other grid
lol
area
ahh -- not today
same chocolate, different shape - they do melt in your mouth in the yummiest way.
:P Sue me, I can't spend any money on game sites at the moment...
It was aorist anyway...
did i do that? sorry
ao 6/ i got an ae 6.
lashings for helen. who brought the wet noodles?
i cannot believe i am awake. no sleep in 3 nites now. oh well, what better way is there to combat insomnia
back in a bit
Well, it better wear out fast, you'll probably end up having a nervous breakdown...
do--try reading a speech com text :)
yiked ADHD, no sleep at all? you must be losing it by now!
stuck at 102. night folks
'nite all. gotta turn in.
night mm
good nite monkey
last nite i got in a hour and the nite before 2 broken hours
good nite melon

g'night monkey, melon
i am starting to lose it
that's not quite as bad ADHD - no sleep at all for three days and you get hallucinations and stuff!
nite Melon and Monkey!
they're coming to take me away. ho ho ha ha hee hee. to the funny farm where life is happy ALLLL the time!
g'nite melon and MM
and i'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats :)
Sad thing is, I -know- that song.
my dad used to sing it, heh
lol
that is not sad zwee... a great era
...yeah, probably more my grandmother's era. XD
wow! I hadn't heard that one in ages
omg jes. that song brings back memories of trips to the shore. it seems that was a popular song while we were vacationing one year.
morning all :)
hi foffle
and a mighty fine good mornin' to ya foffle
morning Foffle
well that's brightened my day straight away!
i supposed somebody called cl7?
i do love that song. there used to be a radio station around that would play ANYTHING but you had to request it a week in advance so they dj could hunt it down
yup, jili, it's been called
yeah jilli, unless there's more than one
that's awesome jes
dear

I was SO pleased when I found out guitar hero has iron man in it.
that's the one, surreality
phantom marmalade
i LOVE that song... every Thanksgiving it's played over and over, as well as the movie
guess i should qualify that--i have a copy of it on vinyl. i want an mp3 copy :)
lol
shovels and rakes and implements of destruction! :P
Everyone wants to kill me every time I play my Alice's restaurant CD
Hi folks. Finally back again. Just like in the "old days" I can hang out here while i have my coffee, then it's back to work on school stuff until the toddler wakes up. How is everyone, an dhow big is the grid today?
cybernan marmalade is soooo there
hi mg, 143
phantom: jedi
143
Thanks!
well you are obviously surrounded by folk less cultured and tasteful than the babblers, saphyre ;)
yoda's in there too surreality!
jedi too, ornith :)
lol Maxx's son drove with me to FLorida a few years ago - he swore the song lasted through 4 states
that's what I was saying jes, surreality just called it as a phantom
lol saphyre
ok, nevermind... i was obviously missing a few messages there...
hmm. was that when you were passing through 4 corners, saphyre?
i have the original on vinyl & I have the original and revisited on mp3
phantom - edamame, marauder
email me the original mp3? please please please?
left side greyed
no md, va, nc, sc, ga fl
I will tomorrow Jess - I'm not at home
yay! you are wunnerfulistic!

will you be on tomorrow?
GO HUGA GO R AH RAH RAH ...shakes the pom poms.. ..shakes the booty.. GO GO GO
seems highly likely
but i could give you my email now if you want
lol ADHD
do you have AIM?
uh... sort of. but i use trillian, so i can't get file transfers
tell you what - i will put a link to the download on my VW site - the address is in my profile
sounds great :)
It's unusual that Lickety hasn't made an appearance in the first hour -- hope MrP is ok
what's happening with MrP?
Not sure -- just know she's been having a bunch of tests for something and was waiting to hear if she would need surgery
doesn't Lickety show up later on weekends though?
oh dear!
Oh man! I hope she's OK.
though I've seen lickety be later than this plenty of times
good eve to all who arrived when i was away cooking dinner
cute car, saphyre. i had my dream car for a while, but she died several years ago and i couldn't afford to fix her... '65 mustang
she has a bone infection that she cant get rid of. Doctors have tried blood transfusions and it did't work. They believe a fall in her childhood may have triggered the infection
oh wow, that really sucks
blood infusions didn't work? hmm
thanks jes
That's nasty. I hope it's not too dangerous and not causing her too much pain!
wow. what a strange phenomenon
transfusions*
she was here on Friday and said that the pain is being managed very well
she was on briefly earlier tonight too
brb again
luckily
Good. But better gone than managed. I hope this all works out quickly and well.
she is on the mend, i haven't seen her in a while. its good to hear
whew, finally got to halfway and no blank tiles - gonna wait for lickety to try the rest
On the mend is good.
chat and work on my sewing in the meantime
i thought lickety was a guy
ornith--did you find both j words?
just one, jes
stuck with 37 to go -- think I'll call it a night -- see you tomorrow :)
not sure if that's the case but at least she seems reasonably comfortable
watchya sewing ornith? and I haven't found the Js yet
night nan
tho i've not tried real hard
lickety is a guy, but his wife is Mr President
lickety is a guy. mr. president (mrp) is a girl.
has anyone got all the c's?
I have several projects right now, actually, ADHD, but I have a set of stays I just have to put the edging on for tonight
i have 6 of the 7, huga
no wonder I keep screwing up which gender lickety is, the mr is throwing me off :P
I have too jes... can't find that last one
I have all the C's
stays?
but I have to take off the first 1/4 of the edging, because I found out I was short and the store didn't have any more :(
stays?
yay doxy! what're we missing? (you're telepathic, right?)
yep, you are missing that one there.
Clues are up!
stays = boned garment like a corset - a little earlier, slightly different shape
hah! thanks, doxy
good eve lickety and tyk
hi lickety, thanks!
yays lickety!
and so much for my waiting :P
the only stays i know of are for collars and such
yay for lickety. You are awesome
Hi Lickety! Thank you!
wow ornith complicated sewing

hope it gets better, lickety
lickety ty I'll pray for you
cl5 X3
bye Lickety
thanks doxy! :o)
Hi Foff, what are you doing up at this time?
yw hug
well, well, well! at last you show your face!
was looking for you yesterday liz
yeah ursh, I teach myself by working on harder and harder projects - hope to do costume design eventually, so corsets are essential
bye lickety, hope things get better
Been to Cornwall for C's Dad's funeral
teaching myself embroidery too - I work for a vestment maker, so I got to do some goldwork on the current project
I know! you were online yesterday though
oh ok ornith then you are obviously very good at sewing - so lucky - i am useless
At work just now, but hometime soon.
machine embroidery?
Entertaining MIL !!
no ADHD, hand embroidery - machine is way easier but needs an expensive machine
you work so hard in the NHS LOL
how is MIL coping?
a'ight kiddies. sleepytime here. have a loverly night and good luck on the grid
50 words done. I'm off to bed. See you all tomorrow.
Bye!
Not so bad, better than expected
ursh, sewing is my one great gift
i have a Husqvarna $6000 sewing machine
night jes and doxy sleep well
husqvarna makes sewing machines!?
my big gift to myself a few years ago
for many years jes
and C?
je7
i think they were making sewing machines before anything else, no?
wow ADHD. I have a $2000 janome and that was MY big gift a few years ago
my friend bought a Janome right after i got my machine
i teach sewing to little girls (11 yrs old)
Horrendously busy with money mess Papa left behind, but pretty ok
soooo much better than my mom's 30-year-old machine I was using before, and got it just in time, cause I had to do all the costumes for a production on it
oh cool ADHD
wow. i didn't know that. i always picture heavy equipment from husqvarna... table saws and construction stuff
does anyone have the am6/27? please clue
i'll be doing it through the after school arts programs in september, now i do i privately. it's so much fun.
I have a rusty 1964 German sewing machine and i can't get the broken needle out. Sigh.
sry pink.. no
lol
that must be the 1 a I'm missing
i have 3 machines
thanx ADHD
is your machine computerized ornith?
mg, try going to a sewing machine shop, they often do repairs or will know where they can
yup ADHD. it's so nice - does shaped buttonholes
me i just have my great gramdams antique singer pedal sewing machine lol
mine too... it's so much fun isn't it
wow kiwi, pedal is oldschool!
and my grandma was still using it 15 years ago before she died
i've got a singer from the 70s, a kenmore from the early 80s and my husq
i learnt on it
I tried taking my grandmother's when my mom's got too weak for what I was doing, as it was better to begin with, but it was dead from having mice living in it!
lol
do you sew for a living ornith? or for pleasure
was a table machine
I would really like to start sewing for my family. Orninth, not sure it'd be worth it... this thing wasn't cleaned or maintained for like 20 years while it sat in an old lady's attic, half the bits are rusty, and something inside makes it smoke when I use it. Just have to wait until I can get a second-hand modern one. Pity, since people ar etelling me I should sell blankets like the ones I gave three friends' new babies recently. But it takes three hours to hand sew one.
mine is sitting at grandads house cause mum wont let me take it away yet and im there every saturday giving it a polish and oil
i used to sew lots of clothes when i was younger. made my wedding dress, my sister's wedding dress and a friend's wedding dress. my kid's clothes when they were real little. now i like the home dec stuff more than clothes
mg, yeah, might be better off getting a new one, they do come a lot cheaper than my $2000 one, I went for a really good machine because I sew all kinds of weird stuff
where do you live monkey?
i come across used ones all the time. i have one i don't even use any more.
I mostly do costume and occasional garments for myself - will definitely do my own wedding dress eventually, especially since I can embroider it
I have a 2 1/2 year old and modern kids' fashions here are boring or godawful. I hope I can get a machine for Christmnas or something. ADHD, I live in the Netherlands.
actually, some sewing machine shops carry used ones too, might try that
unfortunately, unlike 30 years ago, it's as expensive to make stuff for yourself as to go buy it
bummer... shipping would be too costly
my serger was bought used (just twice). got a 2000 dollar Bernina for 900 (a xmas gift)
although at work all the sewing is by hand so my hand sewing is really good now too
Oops, toddler's waking up! Ornith, yes I can get a used one for 200 Euros. Don't have 200 Euros to spare right now. But maybe I can talk to someone in my family about a loan, seeing as to how people wnat to buy the blankets. And yes, ADHD, that would cost around 90 bucks or so from parts of the US... but thatnk you for the thought!
ooh, you have a serger, cool. though I think they're scary!!
that's why i'm into the home dec stuff and doll stuff (for my little granddaughters)
Have to go get little Walter now and make pancakes. Have fun folks, and i will try to drop back in later! I guess 49 words is respectable enough over coffee.
bye mg
no way ornith... i was afraid too until i used a friend's. invaluable. i got a weaving loom for xmas last year and a serger is almost a necessity
b-bye monkey
yeah, costumes are one of the few areas still worth it, or copying couture stuff
bye monkey
I've used them, ADHD, at costume shops. still scary! can see where you'd want it for weaving, though, yeah
i dont have the patience anymore... i need instant gratification. weaving satisfies that lol. i've got a 63in. floor loom
ornith did you say ... do you sew professionally or as a hobby?
Liz go on msn please
both, Dee. I work for a vestment maker and do odd sewing jobs, hoping to do theatre stuff someday
you must be really good ornith
how cool!
Still at work...will be home in an hour.
I'm still learning, but I've got a real natural talent for it - one of these days I need to learn draping/drafting
ok
that's awesome ornith
hi foffle -- I see you at last!
what is a vestment? i'm feeling stupid at 3am
I've basically taught myself by just taking on crazy projects - went from plain skirts to set sleeves to corsets completely on my own, because my mom had a machine but never used it! she only does buttons
hey!!!! what did you do jilli?
vestments = church robes
my brother is a minister in Pittsburg
rabbis don't wear them lol
If Hug is here, ty for the je 7... just found it
lol AD
lol ADHD nope
oh cool Dee, I'm in Philly (and so is my boss)
Checked your profile Ornith - you are young - lot of time to perfect your art
didn't do anything, foffle! Maybe the flip did it?
my brother has some gorgeous table linens and ... what do you call the long ties that go around the neck... I am having a brain fade
even a lot of Christian preachers don't wear them, ADHD - mostly Roman Catholic, Anglican/Episcopal, and some Lutheran, plus the Orthodox do a whole different set of them
Dee, stoles?
some have been handmade and embroidered for him
He is Episcopalian.... YES, that's it!
yup ursh, I'm lucky I found my calling fairly early. wish I'd found it before college though, lol
They also have some gorgeous banners.
is epicopalian a branch of catholic?
Yeah, the banners are awesome
or protestant?
protestant, not catholic
ADHD, it's the Church of England, and the answer is, um, sort of both
I wish I could find the word for the top right O ...
hey all..
jilli, a state with a different vowel on the end
hi rolin
follow some of the Roman traditions, but not under the leadership of the pope
tx for the education :)
yeah, I go to one of the most Catholic-style churchs there is, which also means the fanciest vestments - we have some historic pieces
thanks ornith -- I had some idea that was it but lacked the courage to monkey it!
yqw I am still learning and he has been there for almost 14 years
morning all
hi MV
does anyone have all the c's?
hello MVA
how gorgeous Orn
not yet rolin have one to go
I'm actually working on fixing a Kempe frontal at work - might try going into restoration work if theatre doesn't work out, since it's a rare skill
me too volley
that would be quite a skill orn; his church was built in the 1800's and is a national historical site now
this is my boss's website - the biggest picture on the vestments page is from our church, St. Mark's Philadelphia - http://www.liturgicalartist.com/vestme nts.html
got it rolin... cl 4 x 2; cl 5 x 3; cl 6; cl 7
brb will check it out
none of the stuff I've worked on is on there, sadly, but most of it's similar stuff of course
I've learned to fix cloth of gold, how cool is that?
hnhm..missing a 5..ta

hi sprite
how's the grid treating you today?

Hi sprite
yw rolin
Hi Sprite
hi sprite
prices vary by fabric and elaborateness, dee. a full high mass set runs in the thousands, a stole (and yes we do) is in the hundreds. St. Mark's is Episcopal, though my boss works for all three kinds
Orn that site is just gorgeous!!!

Those of you who like star trek, don't you think the je7 sounds like a race a aliens on board Deep Space Nine.

goodmorning FM
hi FM!
Still yawning and waking up here, was out "on the town" last night at a big do
Ah... Oops!
ooooh! was it fun?
Morning Ata, any jet lag?
with legs too! as I remember - did you have a good time FM?
not too bad, though actually I like keeping American hours - its nice and quiet at night
It was fun Ata and a real giggle too as a lot of the poele didn't recognise me as they hadn't seen me since I lost a lot of weight. Yes with legs and cleavage too lynxxx (thank goodness for wonder bras)!!
FM. Good to hear you had a good time - you'll have to keep it up (& not talking wonderbra!). All work and no play etc
LOL
CLEAVAGE?
'Fraid so Haz, good morning
cleavage is very important!
I'm fanning myself.
goodmorning Haz
I had fun in the US, I found out my cup size goes up one over there! I had D cup boobs!
Good morning/afternoon all! Cleavage AND legs?
morning Hazel, how are you today?
Woohoo, go Ata :)) *... passes Haz some smelling salts ...*
Good morning Ex-Wren - I'm fine, just taken aback at the thought of cleavage in the morning.
Hello ExWren too. Goodmorning
Although I suppose it was at night...
It's been a long time since I had cleavage!
Hi ExWren
Sorry lyn, good morning to you too
and you Fmitch
good morning everyon
dial
Whats the grid like today, I haven't started yet?
Hi Eva
sorry!
Good morning Eva.
hi Eva!
It's OK FM - you ned to twist a bit to find some words
Morning Eva
Well it is a beatuiful sparkly morning here and there is a farmers market and car boot on too just up the road so I think I will save the grid for leter and head out for a couple of hours. See you later and happy babbling
have a great day FM
oooooh FUN!
Have a good time. You have changed out of your frock, haven't you?
go with cleavage! you'll get better car boot deals
LOL yes Haz bacame Cinderella again last night on the stroke of midnight :)
You're not into the fingerless gloves, though?
LOL *sound of laughter fading in the distance as FM departs waving*
whats wrong with fingerless gloves!
Nothing really - they're a great resource when you're cold, but a contrast to cleavage.
lmao true
Bye FMitch - see you later.
how's Spangle, Haz dear?
Spangle is fine - she was in the surgery on Thursday to have a little cyst removed from her back, her ears flushed out and her teeth cleaned. She was woozy from the anaesthetic but is fine.
awwww I bet. poor girl
do you know, by any remote chance, what the stuff is vets use to make cats vomit?
I know they used to use stuff which has now been taken off the market. Usual advice now for making animals sick is a little bit of soda crystals on the tongue.
How funny - although I didn't get my ears or teeth done, I was in the surgery on Thursday too having a cyst removed (benign thank goodness - always a worry for me)
I'm glad you've come through it as well, lynxxx. No chance of you trying to take the stitches out yourself!
when I was in the US, we had to take a cat to the vet who might have swallowed rat poison. they gave it some stuff to make it vomit but it made the poor thing absolutely anaesthetised for about 8 hours. I really thought he'd died at one point. I do *not* want my animals going through something like that!
lol - no - just as well 'cause we lent the 'bucket' to some-one else - and it's really not a good look
Goodness, that sounds dramatic. The stuff they used to use here was very efficient in that it tricked them into thinking they were seasick - it worked on the balance. Ten minutes after being given it they would be heaving. But, as I say, it's now been taken off the market.
it *was* dramatic *shudders*
Pets - they are wonderful but such a concern when something is happening healthwise with them. In that case you are very lucky Haz to have 'live-in help'
I know! It's quite funny when husband goes into 'vet' mode. Spangle is hoisted onto the picnic table to have her ear-drops in or other bits and pieces done. She just stands there with a long-suffering look.
I agree!
Good morning girls !!!....are you back to your 'old' self Haz ?
Hi Karys
Sorry, was answering phone there. A sheep wandering around in circles. Yes, Karys, I'm more or less back to normality.
That's good to hear ( not the sheep), you are much missed !!!

having trouble finding my way up from total burnout and being diagnosed with PTSS. Guess I want too fast ;)
oh, burnout from work or from life :)

hope things get better for you sprite (((((((sprite))))))
thanks :) That hug helps!
may I please have help with the J words
:-)
I only have one so far, the lieutenant in India, je7/56.
good morning - just came on, saw the post. [[[[ sprite ]]]] I was diagnosed with that too some years ago, but with gentleness, therapy, and SSRI's and other recovery tools, am doing much better. I know you will be, too, sprite. [[[ another hug ]]]
that doesnt help sprite, will have to google or something, but thanks
ahhh thanks ch1212, that is so good to hear. It often feels like there is no way out and it just won't get any better. Good to hear the light at the end of the tunnel doesn't have to be a train ;)
Je7: je + very angry or crazy + plural of to be minus last letter
It feels like a train at times, that's for sure. And sometimes it's not just one day at a time, it's one minute at a time. But we're here for you, always :)
that is so true, about the minute by minute thing, lol. It is how I get through panic attacks... second by second, breath by breath.
yes, and slow, long breathing. I learned about holding breath in for a count of ten, then exhaling slowly -- that helps slow down the heart, which helps the panic.
I have done 10+ years of yoga and they are a real support through all this.
yoga is great. You are a master compared to me. I just started about 4 months ago. The practice has really helped my arthritis.
I became physically handicapped about 10 years ago and haven't been able to do many yoga since then, but I never stopped the breathing exercises.
Thanks for the je7, sprite, I was puzzled
yeah, it is a strange one, ExWren! Was clued to me as well.
Breath is the center of all yoga, I read, so you have a great tool [[[ sprite ]]] And I was puzzled by the clue too, but am going to work on it
good morning. ugh, six forty this morning daniel decides to get up.
got the je7, thanks sprite
it is kinda tough to clue that one. Let me try another way: traffic j**, change vowel, + what you put in the papers if you want to sell something + what you drive in minus first letter

oh - congrats, Hershy. And also I see her less because it's the end of the school year, and I have to get all of my homework done, etc. I want a good overall grade. Of course, it's been all A's for me this year, but still ...

everybody's been talking too little these days anyway.
It's right above an obvious word
Maybe I just like to see my smiley face with the tounge sticking out
It's a cool icon, if I do say so myself
does anyone have the 1st da 6/27? it's driving me crazy!
I have two da's, I'll see if it's one of them
rhymes with the subject involving proper sentence structure?
i think i have that one -- one who prevents flooding? but what's the one before it?
change last vowel
da6/67 stems from the father of Icarus and means 'skilful' or 'very clever'.
thank you Nono!
Nope, sorry. Don't have it.
and jacula!
hi , again
hi
clue for the de6,7 combo please

Oh, did you mean a da 6/7? I have the 6, but can't find the 7
hi, inge
don't have the tr, sorry...
inge, there is not tr 5 between the two you said
do you need the one after the tire profile?

Nono, Thanks
de6/7 combo: de + what sounds like the word for smell, but the last vowel is different. then add a vowel for the 7

nice clue to get me to the je 7, thanks feather
LOL, hursh! I am a bit under the weather today, trying to get some cheer,,,,
welcome al
isn't that a 5?
all*
isn't which a 5?
the under the weather needing some cheer D word
ohhh
huh???
oh, i guess you were just saying, not cluing, eh pam?
d + r***, backwards word
i was trying to get you to clue your original dr6/24.
or da or whatever it was
oh, it is a de 6/24....
more not alive hursh?
oh. all that for a word i already have. lol.
lol
don't have the word feather clued--the backwards?
your butt is your r***. stick a D in front.
i think she just means it goes right to left in the gird
grid
oh the irony
no, actually i meant as in backing up or backside i guess, lol
oh, i see
LOLOL! got the gloom word...
Which is me today...
hence my confusion :)
Yep, sorry about that.
How are you doing in your new path, Hursh?
not your fault that you accidentally gave a clue...
bbl
i dunno pam. i mean i'm doing well, but i still feel guilty. various life philosophy forces tug me in different directions.
I can imagine, hurshy.
And, I hope you find what it is you are looking for. I wish my ex- had done that instead of leaving me for someone else, a mutual friend...
GRRRRRRRR
my husband doesn't think we should divorce, for any reason, and it's hard for me to understand that he would WANT me to stay when he knows that i don't think i should ever have married him and don't want to be married to him.
i mean, i don't think i'd want someone to stay with me if i knew that.
and because he is such a great person, i feel really unjustified in leaving him. only really, i've realized, my feelings for him have never been more than friendship.
I know what you mean, Hurshy. Intellectually, I agree. Emotionally, I think I understand his pain some. I mean, I was blindsided...
And, some people want that companionship
a clue for da6/24 please?
i thought, you know, he's so young still, better now than later, he can easily remarry, and this time find someone who'd want kids - he would be a great dad and he'd like that. but he says that it's not my call to say what is best for him like that.
icarus' dad minus the us...
ah, pam, that is the one i was looking for the clue for!
Right, it isn't your call, much as you might want to help make him feel better about this
LOL, hursh---jac clued it aeons ago....
but then, the whole reason i was thinking about those things is on the premise that i should not be selfish, not just think what's best for me
but you needed to think about you, and where you are
i was really trying to think what would be best for both of us in the long run. only i guess i can't know that. and where does that leave me?
I wish melinda had...even if it still came to her leaving me. But the circumstances were so evil, and you spared yourselves that
it is a conundrum.
thanks pam doing search now on icarus as i havent a clue :)
It leaves you having deep questions...
i dunno pam, i hurt him a lot in ways you don't know about. i'm very much to blame in so many ways.
I wish I could think of a better way to clue it, nanette
hurshy you can't "make best" for him but you SURE CAN make best for you and your heart, mind and soul....best thoughts to you....
Sorry, hurshy. ((((((((hugs))))))))
ty granny, ty pam
staying quiet but {{{{HUGS}}}} to hurshy
got it pam thanks
none of us are perfect, hursh, but if we can be respectful...
ty carlee
i've been waaaaaay below perfect
been following the conversation Hursh - you only get one go-round in life. If you're not happy, make it so you are. There are no second chances.
as have we all, hursh, as have we all...
( i agree with pam there....)
i just don't want you guys to sympathize too much with me, i feel guilty even accepting so much sympathy, i have been so very bad
everyone makes mistakes and we are all human
he'll be fine, you'll be fine, but you will never be fine together knowing how you feel and don't feel about him
mistakes happen
umm..hurshy... we are first and foremost human... and we all grow and mature in different ways...
Good point, Angela. But still, being on the other side of dumped and cheated on...
Takes time to regain the footing...
hell life happens - we are in control of our fate to some aspect but sometimes we have a few mountains to get over before we find the greener pastures on the other side
i just mean, i want you to believe me when i say that i have been extremely wrong. i want your opinion of me to be grounded in that reality.
and time heals all, they say...
as long as you respect him..and YOURSELF....
I agree Pam - time to let him move on as well. I've been the dumpee and it sucks out loud. Better to cut the cord before the cheating if possible.
Okay, Hurshy. Just so you know, i don't have you on a pedestal.
well i know THAT
* taking hurshy and throwing her in a mud hole so we know she is not on a pedestal * is that better hurshy (o; ??
Hi everyone. Hurshy, I'm sorry to hear what you are going through.
yes, thank you carlee :)
Well, Angela, the cheating was with a supposed mutual friend, and it takes wrapping the brain around... my ex as she was the love of my life, so time will help. and knowing that she felt she had to act differently
Hi, Natasha! Long time! How are you and the kids?
hello and thanks natasha.
I'm well, thanks--and the kids are great, as usual!
Well, hursh, just wanted you to know that I accept it when you say you have made mistakes.
(Hi, everyone) Hurshy, I don't know all the depths of your particular situation...but if you want the male point of view, then I think it's sometimes harder for us to let go of things...so maybe he needs a little more time to come around...? Either way, if you don't think the marriage is working and divorce is the best option, then sometimes things have to change
I asked smooth if he'd seen you but he didn't answer...LOL
Hi, Nance
I agree Pam my ex-wife was like that sometimes you just have to choose to move on
Afternoon and morning, Pam :)
That's funny--he does still see me at work, although I'm no longer his boss.
hey
hey goldies
I think he missed the post, it was a fast chat!
Well said Nance
Thanks, Angel :) I was surprised by how long my post turned out...
can i have a clue for a 7 letter word that dose not begin with cl please
sending loving thoughts your way, hursh--pam--all others who have relationships gone awry
Pam - I'm sad to hear that. It is never a good feeling to be on that end of it.
it is my birthday to day
Nance - it was quite the little novel there :)
Thanks, Angela...
Well, Happy Birthday Shrek girl
happy b-day
lol :) well how are you, Angel?
txs
just... just to get it all out there, the truth is that while i did not leave him for someone else, i did cheat on him, earlier, and told him, and he forgave me. but i eventually realized that there were reasons why i did what i did. i told him how i felt this past august, and left about six weeks ago. so now you know how awful i really am.
yw pam - sounds like she really did a number on you. and to do that with your friend...pretty low.
Happy birthday!
Nat, how are you????
txs
I'm good actually Nance. Wishing the sun would come out so I could get on the motorcycle, but it's not cooperating.
what you didn't isn't good but isn't bad either
hurshy you just aren't meant to be with this person and need to let each other go
Thanks, angela! Soon after, dorens, scrabbler, Natasha and bunch of others here reached out to help...
-
hurshy, it makes sense that you are feeling bad--and I think it is a testament to the fact that you are really a good person, but you have to remember that you are only human and not beat yourself up forever.
hursh, awful you are not; just human like the rest of us. Let what will happen happen and hold up your head
Doesn't make you a bad person Hursh. You just made some bad choices, we've all been there to some degree
oops, that wasn't me, it was the falling cheerio box
well, said, nat, hetty, and angela.
still. cheating. a *really* bad choice.
glad to hear that pam :)
and you will make more bad choices in the future - it is how we live and learn
cheerios? where?
Pam, I'm hanging in there. I've got a lot going on these days, some big changes down the line, but I'm in a fairly good space.
and we say it all to you too, pam
one of the worst hursh, but like you said, it's what it took for you to realize you needed to make some changes.
can i have a clue for a 7 letter word that does not begin with cl please
anyway. i just wanted you, esp you pam, to know the whole truth so that you could, you know, hate me if you wanted. :)
my ex never explained anything until the new piece was lined up. but, she did apoplogise, which our friends think makes it that she is human... the other onw has not acknowledged anything... a real characterless sort
lol hursh - no hate here.
past tense of dr 5/14, goldies
wow pam - good riddance then
thanks, hetty.
ty anyothers
hello again babblers for the th time
Yes, hursh, you made a bad choice, but having regret means that you will become a better person.
Pam my ex-wife cheated on me then theft me for the girl she cheated with and before all was said and done she didn't have either of us
hiya lil
hi pink
could I get a clue for the middle column A and the far right E? (then I get to use the list....)
well karma hit her quite quicly then, mtheve!
g2g to my birth day party
bye
i'm having trouble with that middle A as well harp, have 2 of them
You could borrow my sck cloth and ashes hurshy but I threw them away a long time ago when I decided to stop beatingmy self up and start living life again.
why yes it did :)
hi, harp~
Pam--I had that happen to me once. She came back to me years later and acknoweldged how much she'd been deceiving herself about what was really going on. It made me afeel a bit better.
the right E is to wear away at, as the sea does to the land
I remember you told me that, natasha....
maybe i'll go look in your local dump for them fmitch :)
thanks, hi pam
Glad you are in a good place for your changes, natasha...
oops, sorry to repeat a story!
self-deception is such a huge problem.
thanks hurshy
it's okay, it helps....
ah made you smile then hursh. good.
I have just noticed how 'family' this chat is
the middle A's that i have are a space or region, and an adj form of that
well, the new piece is quite self-deceived... we volunteer for the same organization... and even those who really had no opinion, wanted to remain neutral, have reached out to me about her lack of character and respect...
lol, mtheve. We're everywhere!
lol thanks Nat - at least someone understood :)
What does thou mean, Mtheve?
lolol
"piece" Pam??
nancy means that there are a lot of similar people in chat
Good morning Babble Family!
what is the "My Friends" menu for?
hiya scrabbler
Oh :) Thanks
Good morning scrabbler
how i refer to the gal i was left for...
hey scrabbler
yay FIREWORKS!
Hi, Scrabs!
yay nono!

**reviewing chat**
Thanks, Hurshy :) I see. I'm an either-gender kind of guy...
bbl--my kids seem to think that 10 am is a good time to demand food. off to make waffles.
yep, last night re: med stuff, today, acknowledging your support of me when I was dumped...
lol nance
belated thanks, hurshy (had to give the cat a pill)
later, natasha
Well Angel, why limit yourself to just one gender? :) Ah, I'm just being greedy.
what is the "My Friends" menu for someone??
bye nat
giving a cat a pill is hard, but not as hard as giving a cat pink-bubble-gum liquid amoxycillin
pinkhat, you can add your friends there and see at a glance if they're online - also, if you put Babbler in there, you can find out what the theme is for the day
What is the med question?
pink I think you can add nicks to the list and see when your particular friends are online
yeah what flosey said :)
mmm waffles. i wish there was a third gender to pick from. ....oh wait there is. electronics
fireworks, and must run, bbl
lol, Hurshy :))
omg hurshy and harp have you ever read the how to give a cat a pill that circulates online?
Yipppeeee flosey!
oh is that where you all get the themes from? do you have to ask other babblers there permission to add them to the list?
i have a goofy question...is there an Enable dictionary or is it just Enable word listings??
was regarding the latest crud i seem to have caught...no big deal, i am better today,,, somewhat
wtg flosey!!
wtg flosey...WOWS for you (o:
I have scars on my arms from my encounters with giving rabbits pills.
no pink hat, you do not
Something's beeping--I think my cell phone is dead....
thaks hurshy
bye, flosey
good morning!
ypsi--hi
morning yipsigirl
know the feeling scrabbler, mine usually eats it right down, we wrap it in tuna. But today we were cooking bacon and she was not interested in tuna
hi ypsi
pinkhat, babbler lists the clues in her profile, so if you add her you can get them readily
flosey means themes
Good morning :)
sorry, lists the THEMES, not CLUES - sorry, was hurrying
hi, demmie
bye for now
harp more middle A's - al5 give the (other) al5 to warn people. al7 past tense.

ty]
a very french-sounding puzzle today
there's la6 like past tense of baby sheep without the b - la6/27 past tense of walking wonky with a consonant on the end
i don't know for sure how many there are, feather.
hey, has anyone got the ae5 or ae6? :( i got the chocolate bar
ar5,10
only one le6
ar5 is when someone had a weapon
ty deb
what an odd word, the wonky one - thanks deb
ae+a kind of bread (spelled wrong)
ar*** and dangerous
ae 5 is a lofty place for birds. ae 6 is, oddly enough, the past tense of that ae5 noun
scarydeb, was that one or two clues for a la6?
one MA6 or two?
it was two clues feather
ah, the 12th letter of the hebrew alphabet, apparently
ar5,10 is what?
can i offer any more bad clues before I check the horses - 2 separate clues
ah, ok.
Deb, you scared me with that le6 clue--something less frightening?
thanks jes :)
no worries, cara :)
just tell me the point total deb, and whether there is one MA6 or two
hey all
hiya stid
hey stid!
Yikes, coffee just landed in bladder, BRB

Hello Inge and Stid. I love the hobbit house, Stid--I have a fantasy of living in the shire with the hobbits
HI everyone
stid, did you play yesterday, you were in the grid
Congrats Hurshy!
hey peri!
hi peri
Yay for hurshy
yes and does anyone else think ai5/12 is redundant
hi peri
me too scrabbler -- though sounds like you practically do already!
thank you one and all for your kind support
WOW hurshy...wtg (o:
good point to
good job, hursh
i do temple
ai5/12? as in the helper?
yes
I second that motion, TO
{{{hurshy}}} are you liking your new place? as important, are the critters liking the new place?
yeah, the ai 4/5 already means helper
whose mom died TO
phantom: mar marmalade
redundancy and repetition are a mother's daily lot... ai5 seemed "normal" to me!
also sort of a phantom: lady marmalade
good point...
but you'd have to use the same letters
i like the new place, the cats are doing fine - it is funny, my apartment and the main house share a foyer with a laundry room off it, and when i was doing laundry yesterday i left my door open and my cats were sniffing at the door of the main house and getting their tails all poofed up at the smell of Other Cats
Stid, when I searched for groundcovers I found a list of >150 types. I think what I have in my yard is moneywort--I am waiting for $50 dollar bills to bloom.
WHAT DO THEY LOOK LIKE LOL
first re5/12 please
LOL silly critters! :-) well I am glad they are fine.
pab, give weapons to, again
hurshy, were they indoor cats before?
moneywort would be a really cool groundcover, for sure! Have you only been in your place for a little while?
That is what I am looking for too, pabtrek
i introduced marty to a horse.
missing one tr word. all the ones i have are 4s and 5s
thanks hurshy
I just repotted some sweet basil and pepperiment in pots on my balcony. I love homemade pesto
they were, are, and ever will be indoor cats, amen.
la, i protest that there is no comparative of ma4/5. men are always trying to prove that point.
*grin* I bet that was an experience, hurshy!
and I like the smell of peppermint, never tried to grow it though
I have been here almost 18 yrs, Stid. But last summer I had seen this cool ground cover in one part of the yard and transplanted it, now it is thriving '
the idea of other animals and their smells are so exciting. was the horse scary?
tr 6/21, feather - three + *** to a grecian urn
hurshy, i thought you lived in boston?
mmmm. yummy herbs, peri! I am waiting for my peppermint to recover from the whacking I gave it in december... It spreads so fast otherwise.
ty la
the horse was only a little scary when he breathed out
cars are MUCH scarier
mostly marty thought the horse was ok
re 5/12: to take up weapons again, in case you didnt get it yet
no temple, i called off the boston move cause it was too nervewracking, that plan, to move there, with no job yet
peppermint is the bane of my existence.. but i do love the smell... keep trying to cut it back everyyear... it is very persistent
how many words today?
okay Scrabbler! I know how that is. There was a new ground cover (turns out it's called creeping charlie and by the time I discovered it was too late) spreads like wildfire...
143
Danke Inge!
i ended up staying at my mom's for about a month while i kept job hunting, and ended up getting a job in newport, and am living now half an hour from there and half an hour from my mom's.
yes inge
ty
"peppermint is the bane of my existence." now there is a sentence i've never heard before
any of the mint family will take over!
I have it in a pot Dorens and I can always put it in a larger pot
Greetings Babblers
hello swmbo!
i've got an in-law apartment in a house on a five-acre farm with 3 horses. it's lovely.
Hi swmbo
ever hear of archangel? amaziing groundcover that is incredibly iinvasive, but pretty (a member of lamium family) and doesn't need sun
my mom had some in her herb garden. ended up ripping them out by fistfuls after a while!
the deer came and nibbled all the tips of our bamboo!!!
yes, I think creeping charlie is a mint, too. But I had never seen it before, and the dark purply-green foliage was so nice that I let it sit briefly. *sigh* I guess I'll never learn
hi swimmy!
It sounds beautiful and serene, hursh
hey swmbo! :-)
Didn't know that about mint, I may never grow it again, but I will wait and see what it does in the pot(s). Does any one want me to sent them some mint when it gets overwhelming
a pot makes sense for mint.
I wish the deer would nibble my bamboo... but no. they prefer the roses and fruit trees
liquid fence works for me inge... just need to remember to reapply it every three-four weeks
hurshy your in-law apt sounds great
Beware of growing mint in your garden, it spreads like wildfire and takes over everything. The voice of experience
Hi swmbo
yes, and yet i have grocery, walmart, home depot, and even mini-golf, about 6 minutes away! and a homemade ice cream shop a little further on
A pot does, but in my yard I didn't mind having it stretch out a little. I just nip it back with a spade once a year. Same with the pennyroyal.
sounds perfect hurshy
good afternoon everyone! How's the puzzle today?
it is. now i just need some friends to do things with, lol.
hello takuma, it is fun so far
hey takuma -- it's not bad. I finished it last night after the flip. For me, that's unusual
Hi Takuma--some challenging words

on star trek when the romulans show up the ship goes on red al5
and past tense
al 5/10 - life al*** - "help, i've fallen and i can't get up!"
That's not so bad then, inge. Our yard is one acre (I love it) and just the right size if someone mows it for me. Half of it is still wooded, too, which is nice.
I was amazed at how bad I was, until we realized that the die we were using lacked any N's, had two X's, only two S's, etc. lol
thanks LeslieAnn, was looking at the wrong al

Hi GT--feeling better today?

much scrabbler ty for asking
thanks for the help, dorens!
de 6 -- add, not even, but **d; and **t garfunkel; requires a vowels for the 7
had an e.r. visit, got some steroids, they are finally working
down to 8, need to get some lunch
Oh, man, GT, it stinks to be a patient, and especially in an ER
te6?
hi babblerabble, how goes it?
glad you are getting some relief, grammaterri
I have 8 to go and will forge on
well I was quite doped up so the visit was fine lol
ty babblerabble
doing okay
I think I have changed the horse to a bromeliad, let's see
2nd da6?
i see it inge
yeah, it worked
good to hear babblerabble, thoughts are with youo
a beaver is an example of the second da6--one who blocks streams or rivers
the only difference with the two, scrabbler, are the ending vowels
good clue jes
te6 please?
be well brabble dear
BR, are you also ailing? can't keep track. Seems daughter in Las Vegas knew of Yoink's sad story all along
OK, TY, BR

only have 2 pieces left inge! i'll give you a bite though!
de7 clue?
like turning left
gee, there is some in our fridge, I just remembered
lol hurshy.
Thanks Babble. Don't think I'd ever have found that one.
leftover teriyaki ribs here ( :
turning left can be harder than it sounds.
Can I have an itty-bitty hint on the first da6, my last word?
One more clue? or6?
icarus's father - us
missing a D. i have 8 da, 9de, 1di, 2 do. gotta be one of them.
or6 sometimes turning left can even be quite an or6
The two da6's differ only in their last vowel
Wait, it's not my last word--it is my last de, LOL
da 6: double the cons
there are 10 DA
ty hursh
I hate it when they're that simple. But thank you very much. :-)
Scrab, are you looking for de 6 or da 6?
got it, had to single my consonant, thanks for the reverse clue inge!
TY, hurshy--isn't it a name in a James Joyce novel too? I remember it from HS.
if you like, pigeonman, i can add you to my mental list of people for whom i say "normal word" rather than giving a clue, in such circumstances...
4 left, one do, 3 dr's
haven't read joyce - he sounds scary
wow the m's weren't bad, sailed right thru
go scrabbler
the do's are anagrams of each other.
go scrabbler, go
only 11 RE words one hopes?
TY, hurshy
and the dr's are actually all normal words, in my opinion...
this is correct feather
Uno, for real now

do you like newport, hurshy?
bye scrabbler!
Have a good one, scrab!
newport is a great town (not living there, of course, too expensive)
bye, Scrabbler
bye scrabbler, blessings
except for the arsonist...
i'm living about half an hour from newport, myself. but there have been a string of arsons, 6 since march, which police believe were done by someone who did another string 10 years ago, but i guess they never caught him (or her?).
or he/she was in jail for something else?
i am not sure why you would do some arsons, wait 10 years, and then do more, but then, i'm not sure why you would do arson in the first place.
no one hurt I hope
there has been an arsonist is my neighborhood..... businesses, 4 or 5, over 3 or so years...
it's possible, i suppose, gramma - as far as i can tell they do not have a suspect, so, don't really know.
happens with serial killers sometimes
only minor injuries to fireman and police officer. arsons have been generally middle of night in empty buildings.
oh good, arson is one thing, but murder ) :
but people are pretty freaked, as the entire town is basically made of wood.
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhh!!! ~{]P-/
there's nut, hello ( :
scary stiuff....
i mean the arsonist is clearly trying to avoid hurting anyone but the buildings are often very close together and he's... well... playing with fire in terms of it spreading to occupied buildings.
*urp* ok, fat and fed, time to get these last 6 done!

it's under my feet hurshy, of course
poo was flung, crap also ( :
but where else is it, nut
it's also in front of me and behind...or for better reference, directly under a cloud shaped like white poo.
add a vowel to the de6 sudok
oh no...not more poo
lol hi carlee
de7 - Byzantine empress, change th to d and second to last vowel, or, if that doesn't help, de + not even but --d + last 3 letters of jewelled headdress
lol
last ro4/5 anyone, can't monkey it
* donning poo suit *
...Or, like grammat says, just add a vowel to de6. That would have saved me a lot of verbiage!

Haz, is your 1558 in commemoration of Elizabeth I?
The first de6/24 is the comparative for the deceased de4/6
de6/24 - degree of lifelessness as compared with a doornail?

Sadly, nothing so historical, it's my birth date (1 May 1958)
Oh! Well, Happy Belated Birthday, then!
Happy Belated Birthday to YOU! Haz

No doubt someday people will be celebrating that date as a great historical moment!
yes, haz :) happy unbirthday!
Thank you - yes, I always think myself one year older than I am so that it doesn't come as too much of a shock.
happy belated Haz!
a very merry unbirthday to you :) (and to me)
I do the same thing. I calculate my age by the year, so as soon as the year turns I think my age has turned, even though my birthday's not til halfway through the year.
Thank you!
Thank goodness I'm not the only one, Vicuna.
My birthday is in december so I always have trouble working out my age - usually addd the year on too earley
But it does make me look an imbecile when I go to tell my age and get all confused!
i generally manage to forget my age and have to think about it if it's asked. It's one of those trivia bits i never use :) clue for the second de6,21?
te6 please
aw, vic, that's not so bad. i had an arguement with my mother once about how old i was :)

hey, has anyone got the de's?
as in de6's and de7?
i have the card person and someone who isnt as well as someone else
I was here briefly hours ago but chat seemed quite personal re: relationships, etc. and I thought to mind my own beeswax, although if something's in chat it's kinda sorta really public I suppose.
first de6 is more of the de 4/6
hurshy!!
hi all. de 6/24, the last one and de 7/36 please
i got that one and i got the second one, i think. yeh i have :) thanks ({)
the de 6 & 7 start with the first 4 letters of what you put in your arm pits then add a pirate's call. add a vowel for the 7
Guys - I'm new here - doing ok I think (65 to go) - don't use other sites/lists etc. Can you explain your language i.e de 4/6 -sorry if I'm a bit slow!

bye jes
youh
hello smd
oops
Hi Niamh
I'm going to the list. Be back later to clue. By Jes, happy welding
if anyone is on that helped me with blueberry advise, my icon is the fruit of my labor
Wow Niamh...I didn't help with the advice but that is some "fruit" to be proud of!!
thanks smd! it was a lot of work, my mom cried!
Awesome Niamh! I have been thinking about planting some blueberry bushes of my own.. love bb pancakes!
My granddaughter loves blueberries right off the bushes. We planted a couple of bushes just for her!
my mom has kind of a black thumb, I was advised that blueberry bushes were very hardy and low maintenance... and she loves blueberries!
Do you have to worry about the birds getting to them?
well yes, that was something I was warned about. but if you like bird watching....
we just weed ours occasionally and they bear a lot of fruit!
I am going to do it! peat moss is a must, huh?
I was told the peat moss is a very good idea because it adds the nutrients the plant likes and it will retain moisture so you can afford to forget watering on occasion
clues for last re 6/24 and the tr 5/12 before three?
the last re 6/24 is to create again
I tr*** (past tense) to tell you what the answer was..
SCuse me, but how again does one correct the Lickety list if the wrong 1st 2 letters appear as clues? I tried closing the window and reopening; one set of letters show up and then within a split second it defaults back to the wrong ones. Reboot?
got it thanks!
thanks to both of you :)
eh?..what do you mean relarion?
that's strange... did you try refreshing.. f5?
hi all..popping in again
yw DR
to create again? my mind is a blank! lol!
well to have created again.. (it's past tence)
ypsi, yes. What happens is that the correct grid is there but the wrong letters, and when I do Bulk Add it accepts my words but they appear next to incorrect clues, like an ae will be next to an aq.
an old movie is re**** with new and current actors
Hi all, back to find my last 12
wow.. that is whacked relarion... never had that happen
that did happen to me once relarion, I think it corrected when I refreshed. I guess next try rebooting?
that's really weird relarion, the refresh doesn't help?
go peri..go peri
that is whacked!
you could try clearing the browsing history and then refresh... it may be holding on to the page in your cache
duh! I got it! The re 6! to create again! whoo boy I am having a rough day. ha ha
good glad u got it ypsi
I guess I'll reboot. It is weird. And it doesn't match even before I enter my own words, like next to the ai 5.12 is the partly filled-in box and it says "dh."
thanks carleekat.. going to check the pryamid and niagra falls and the empire state building
all done

I looked at loads of buddy icons but couldn't see anything I wanted so tried to get a picture from my own computer but it doesn't seem to work
oh ty
maisie, scroll down to the bottom of my profile for my email address, email me and I'll send you idiot-proof instructions
ok maisie
the image needs to be jpeg or gif format
I tried folloe=wing the instructions too
hi maisie welcome, it is difficult to get the icons going at first but you'll soon get into the swing of things..
and the file can't be too large, so if its from a high res camera, you need to size it down
maise, there is a spot at the bottom where you can get a pic from your computer. hit the "browse" button and find what you want then the upload button
See can't even spell now. Thats what I did Niamh
maisie -- see my message at 2:37!
welcome maisie! anyone have a clue for the am 6?
that was a classic example, i thought i had changed my icon last week, now it is the same as before... back to the drawing board..
sometimes when you change your icon, you have to refresh f5 to see the new one
O.K jilli will do.
sorry ypsi, I don't have that yet
good!
I just got it... am+vowel+cons+2 vowels... another very strange word!

ty ypsi but how do you know the total points?
Hi jilli :)

hi again fm :)
lets see if this works...
Evening Ata, had a good day?
each letter has a point value under it- add them up = word total point value
nope try again...
spent most of it asleep or watching cricket :P
example dam d=2+a=1+m=2 + 5 total points.. even though you need 4 letter words in babble
thanks ypsgirl
Sounds like a perfect way to spend a Sunday
Lizsark -- if you scroll down to Friends of Babble you will find Lickety's Babble Clues -- it's a list of the first 2 letters of each word and the point score
evanonut do you get it off lickety's page?

hey...wait...( stoker prowls at night time ) u would know the answer to a question I have been wantngto get answered
What?
this might sound a bit dorky..but....my daughter... aged 10 she takes alot of music...
piano, harp, and flute
anyway..last spring she wrote a piece of music ..she said was a tune banging around in her head...
and...to be honest..its..really good.. her piano/ harp teacher has since played it several times at weddings and other occasions
how does one get a piece of music you have written..copyrighted
i want her to always have it..and for one day when she is older...and pulls out music with her own kids to be able to say " I wrote this...with her name on it..if you catch my meaning
Carlee, Google the US dept. of copyrights. They probably have forms online. I don't usually do it myself anymore but it's not hard. You/she can send in a tape.
( am canadian )
and do u have to have it on tape?
Oh, sorry....anyway the dept. of copyrights. No you don't have to have a tape. Probably someone at the school could transcribe it.
she has it written..on sheet music...she wrote it out
That's all she needs for a copyright.
ok..cool
thank you
yw, good luck to her.
its just ..kind of cool..I'd like her to have the certificate that says..its hers...u know?
Totally :)
her and her piano teacher are currently working on harmonies and parts fro other instruments...her piano teacher ( my doughter does not know this part ) wants to approach the band techer with teh composition for her band to play
That sounds lovely...
( sorry about typos.. am flipping between here and the copyright site for canada)
I'm taking off for a while, bbl
thanks again relarion

oh cool icon inge
I am rerunning some of mine. This is a painting of a bromeliad my husband did some time ago. I like the colors
very nice..I was going through trying to come up ith an icon for tomorrow's theme..but...I just didn't find anything I can relate to
da + m 5/14 less the m
da6, 24 sounds like a jewish holiday spinning top minus the 2nd consonant
the first da 6 sounds like that serieal murderer Jeffrey da****,
help with the last me 5/14 please
carlee, what is the theme for tomorrow
celebrity look alikes
last me is french swear word, I think it means poop
french swear word
that's the only da 6 I have inge - missing the first 6/24 and the first 6/27 - not gettng the jewish clue and don't have any m's yet...... heavy sigh
no more poop.... pls...at least nut no where to be found...
french swear words are in the dictionary, but 'yoda' and 'jedi' aren't??
good deal ! she's always flinging it at me!
use theda+me5,16 but take away the m
I don't have M's yet though carlee
I don my poo suit whenever the poop flies
the other da 6/27 changes the second vowel from first to secodn
u win these at sporting events
I guess I'll have to come back to it. thanks.
is nutty nearby?
me5 u win gold silver or bronze ones
not that I know of inge
...that is me 5/14, not me 5/16... yes?
yeap...
correct, LA
and the da+me5 minus the m
oh ok i got confused. hello again.
then we dont have to duck
so..yea..was saying I just can't come up with an interesting look a like idea.....

leslie the kittens are soooooooooooo cute.... there is one called tigerlily who looks EXACTLY like my willow
there is also dailypuppy.com, which is actually much better put together, if you like those too
Oh! I can't be bothered. I give in, I'm going to bed, just short of 8 words.
no dogs scare me especially when they bark. *shudders*
exwren you've come too far to just give up, i'll help you!
Well, let's see, there is de6/24 and de7/36 for starters, lil
de + smell, change second o to a for the 6, then add another first vowel on the end for 7, wren
de6 = what we wear on our armits for the de7 + a vowel
are all the y's 4 letters?
Exwren are you getting them??
yes they are leslie
yi4/7, yo4/8, yo4/6 leslie
I'm sorry, I am brain dead, and yes leslie all 4 letters
ah i was missing the yi, got it now thanks
your welcome
if you're wearing de****ant on your armpits, change that second o to a
de6 what we wear so we dont get BO de7 + a vowel
Exwren???
Thank you for trying leslie and lil, but I am going to give up, it's 1.30am, and time you were in bed as well pinkhatlil!!
for t's i have 1 te and 9 tr's... i assume i need another tr?

Jilli how did you get it
hi jilli how was your birthday
hi diem
Hey HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jilli
jilli is the bday today? HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Sorry hi all
hi all -- 80th b'day was May 17 :)
jilli's birthday was last week, when we all recalled our eighth year of life
well, i haven't seen you since then, so belated happy bday
*its ok to ignore us diem.....we dont mind* lol
thanks all!
From me too
what did you do to mark the special occasion??
LeslieAnn -- ALL of 'ramada' is in the grid, and it didn't say it wasn't -- just that it's not in the dictionary and it is! Same for 'mara' and a couple of others in the last few days which I can't remember
Jill, I don't chat much but I play alot and lurk on the chatboard ---- and always like what you have to say, so I want to wish you a very happy birthday! Hope it's a great one!
well said sewwell, jilli is a good egg
well, thank you sewwell -- and I have seen you in the chat from time to time
You're welcome!
good eveining e1
hello mom
well, eggs can be cracked, fried, boiled, scrambled...LOL!
my gran celebrated her 80th birthday at the end of last month, im so proud of her, she still drives, has her laptop, and a better mobile than her granddaughter im glad she isn't just sitting down letting age take its toll!
Good evening mom and sewwell

my grandmother made it to 95..she was great until 93, then her friend fell on her, knocked her down.. it was the beginning of the end..but she wasn't on any medicine, has all her facilities..and lived a great, HEALTHY life..one day, she decided she was done, took her teeth out, turned off her hearing aid and went to sleep....
from the # i have left, i think it is likely i am missing some d6's. i have: 3 da6, 2 de6...?
hello pam and ata
hi ata -- the birthday was last Thursday, but that's just fine!

make that three de 6's :)
4 de6s
all right then, as i add "er" to every de i have :)
lol
there are 3 de6's your missing the extension of the de4/5 before it add 2 vowels to it
redeal is not found in the dictionaly but we do it often when playing bridge and everyone passes
only two of them take -er
i agree jilli
any cues
that was exactly it, pink, thanks
we had this debate earlier on jilli.....babble is so silly sometimes. It loves to gives us words that have plucked from planet mars and refuse us the words we all know well

hi ren, we're talking about flickr friends...
stuck on that am 6 -- help, please?
oh - that's what i get for watching the game and losing the chat
are there any words you can see in the grid? if so move the cursor into the ADD WORD box. Words have to be the minimum of 4 letters long. That all i can tell you.
took 7 pics. usually i narrow it down to less than half that i upload....hard to choose this time! may do all 7
am 6 looks sort of like a form of Wolfgang Mozarts' middle name

At the bottom of the babble page click AngelSong's Babble Page. on i cant explain it any clearer than that. other players have advised you on what to do if your uncertain.
me 5/14: french expression of disgust or frustration -- literally means murder
je + angry + drive a c**
re 6/24: produced again
ty feather
Cybernan, the French expletive, sad to say, may sound like "murder" but it means shit
in fact it survives in parts of rural England, where Nman French had an influence, in the expression "mardy-bum"(used of a whining child)
ty hetty -- learn something new every day!
fireworks, and a hilarious kitty-video!
mardy-bum! never heard that!
yw nan. At least we can be sure that a Frenchman using this expletive is besmirching himself.

the al 7/36 is past tense what wakes you in the morning

min: it's a dark and dr***y night
