congrats sprite!!!!
not really a tough grid, but for some words I am grateful there were clues, or I would never have thought of them :)
46 words and i'm htting the wall!
there are clues??
bens: if you open the chatlog with the upper right icon above the box, you will find many clues in the chat
yes ben, we can give them or you can go to lickerty's list
and even some words, LOL
any clues I may give before I run off?
hey sprite - how about any 8 other than the co8/45?
right gotcha ...
there's 2 co8/45, one is crayons (or people using them), the other is co + turn around.
co8/70 plural part of brain
O.K. I'm off to hunt that down - thanks.
good morning afternoon evening everyone

I'll recap my clues then, cause I did clue them all
i'm missing a co8 - part of the brain???
Found it - thanks for all the help.
there's 2 co8/45, one is crayons (or people using them), the other is co + turn around. co8/70 plural part of brain ea8: places where you go to dine he8: plural of he7: he who puts a spell on you + 2 vowels, in a strange order. se8: what you don't tell a living soul + either this ** that
exer
yw :) Yes granny, the co8/70. Plural of the co6/36.
well i better look for the co6 first :)
caught myself just in time !!
excellent clues sprite! :)
co6/36 = part of the brain. take place to legally settle disputes, drop a vowel, then add someone you're no longer married to
thanks Fishbulb :)

The first re6/18 - is to get up again, the second is a description of paper/material after it has been ripped up again.
sounds good rmcc chip butties yummy
appropriate babble food, rmcc
ty was not using the n
i'm beginning to remember a lot of the "funny" words...amazing!
yay granny! Starting to be a seasoned pro ;)
dont think i'll ever be good enuf to NOT use lickety list!!
sure you will, granny, in time! See how great you are doing already and you haven't been around for that long!
i sure hope so, i do start out without the list but get only so far then...
and that point will be more at the end of the words every time ;)
Granny, don't forget that many of those who don't use the list rely on clues and help given by others in the chat log.
true Haz, I always do for one. I shamelessly use every clue in the chat.
oh boy haz i really do use the chat and everyone gives the bestest clues ever! just takes me more time to figure them out...even after i write them down!! lol
It's trying to get into the individual cluer's mind that's the problem! Some of us are twisted.
and let's not forget it is not a contest ;) I still enjoy every word I find, really.
the twisted babble sisters
It's true, sprite. I'm always worried that new babblers feel under pressure to 'keep up'.
sounds like a song sprite and the two of you are NOT twisted, straight forward clues always!
I think it is one of the best things of this game, that it is never a contest. Or maybe only with yourself. I think if you are new, or for whatever reason your brain isn't fast, even finding 10 words is great.
Thank you granny - I like clues that make you either remember or visualise a word.
sometimes the fun is in getting into the mind of the one asking for clues, lol. Finding out what works for them. I love clueing.
It's quite funny, though, when you give a slightly cryptic clue - some players immediately respond positively, others are just bamboozled and don't mind telling you! So, then it's break the word apart time, but I still hold onto the not spelling out letter by letter rule.
same here, Haz! The spelling clues always annoy me. There is no need for them, I really feel that way. And they just give the word away, which can never be the intention in a puzzle game
i agree with you haz but sometimes when the brain is fried..eyes crossed, etc. thats the only way i get them! lol
I always call them snake chair 3rd vowel cross clues :)
Hello, all. Can't sleep.
i love it when goldies on because he needs that sometime and i go right along with him! hehe
(((Jellen)))
But that's because people feel under pressure to finish all the time. If you can't get a word, you can't get it.
knew you'd be back jellen...lol...hello :)
I gather you were talking about clues and cluers.
exactly, haz. And if someone is really too young to play the game, he should not expect to find every word or be clued for each and every one.
Yes, we'll talk softly and bore you back to sleep.
we are, Jellen
*hums a soft lullaby*
I must admit part of my inability to sleep is the 11 words that are hiding from me.
lollll... we'll be happy to clue, Jellen ;)
So, do you want a barrage of clues to help?
I like your clues, Haz. They make me think. :^)
i'm watching :
I'm glad, Jellen - that's probably my reason for giving them the way I do.
Spelling out the words does spoil the fun.
yay for Jellen :)
If you'd care to barrage me with clues, I wouldn't mind. (Is that proper usage?)
sure, just tell us which ones elude you
Fireworks here - i also prefer clues that are a lttle "think think think"
That sounds like a plan, Jellen. Stand well back....
WOOT for ursh!
Congratulations ursh!
Well done, Ursh!!
wtg ursh! good job :)

Hi Scrabbler, how is baby Callie?
Hey scrabbler
Lady--life is short--don't be cranky.
How is bun bun sorry i have been busy
Bunny Callie seems mostly OK--just not eating as much as usual yet. But I am happy to have her home, and her bladder has been emptied of the sludge.
Shouldn't there be a de + *** to undo a witch's spell?
ah, thanks Jean, got it now
will she have to have that treatment often?
Featherbee--how was the storm in your area last night?
not sure, i went to bed! although, daniel's wading pool seems to be missing....
If Callie starts dribbling again, or having cloudy urine, then she will have to have an X-ray to view her bladder.
Do youand Daniel sleep through lightning?
must be!
Morning Scrabbler, glad to hear that calie is home now
Yes, our pets are so beloved to us, aren't they?
Storm was rather intense here last nite but the bad stuff didn't last long
"exed" is not a word--like "I exed out that box."
Scrabbler i am cranky at the lack of ability to stop a really shady realestate agent
they certainly are Scrabbler!
no but you can plural it scrab
Scrabble i got 60 odd killos of hugs from my friends bull mastiff this morning made me happy
Lady--you can't stop people from being jerks.
TY, feather
True but its very frustrating, but at least i have a new home now :) and what for it, himself has been looking un asked too
Where do you live, Nono? "southern tier"
near Corning
Mastiffs are huge!

I was on 86 west yesterday, heading to Allegany State Park for kayaking

very cool!
i met someone on here who went to my high school
oh gosh that is cool
Wow, feather--how did you figure it out?
are you from that area originally
just like this, saying where we were from, and narrowing it down
Coffee refill anyone?
yep i am

I found someone who worked with my sister on Scrabble
i've ridden my bus past her house, and she's ridden her bike past mine. our childhood houses that is
grew up around Elmira myself and went to Elmira schools

OK, the coffee is hot, Nono, so be careful.
Thanks Scrabbler
how old is he feather
3 this july
might be a bit young yet
oh i think he would like it!

it's been a few years since i've been there, so i can't recall all the exhibits
they are intreagued by the displays and buttons to push to see things happen etc
it has changed a lot
Scrabbler this mastiff is a baby compared to his parents, they were 70killos each
i'll check out the website this summer!
ok, i need to go clean up the house for the weekend
Try and enjoy feather
There is an internet article and photo about the world's largest mastiff, named Hercules, who weighs 282 lbs. The photo is amazing--a woman with a horse, and a man with Hercules---quite striking. Maybe you can find it.
ha
Bye feather

He is a big sook and a rescue dog too, my g/f has a rescue German shepard that is a rescue and will never be a 'pet' due to horrible neglet and her girl Belguim shepard is a rescue to and is also slightly crazy due to horrid neighbours kids
Animal and child abuse make me crazy

Small, medium, large, extra-large....they are relative, LOL

Yes, I am a N eanderthal woman
I have a glass for red wine that you can fit a small dogs head it in
I have more than that, Goldies---keep looking

lots of words that use the x goldies
I know that but how many are there?
I am not done yet, Goldies, so I don't know.
What a good idea Ata.....but best do something about them, going out later.
ok
nah, just hope that everyone else has had a glass of wine or two by then ;)
or wear a long skirt !
I think there are 19 words that use the x goldies
that works too!
shaving sounds like too hard work today. especially if its as hot with you as it is here!
Hi all, how many words beginning with not in?
none beginning with x
it's really lovely Ata....not too hot, little breeze, just about perfect for me.

phew. I suspect its like Canterbury - get in at 9am, get out by 11am and you don't get bowled over too many times
and hi hurshy dear!
Wow...that must have been good, down tools everyday ?...or did you just get used to it ?
hi ata! i got vi's trading card and on one side she did a woodcut and on the other she made me a cat shaped babble grid!!!
We havn't 'done' Canterbury yet...will put it on the 'to do' list
Nah Karys love it every time they marched. Same for Concorde every time that flew over I got a flutter in the tum :)
i gotta get started making mine, i have no idea what i will do, you all will be so disappointed after the wonderful things you guys can do.
I'm half way through making mine :)
oh you should do Canterbury, Karys. Its an amazing city (and the only city in England with a professional football team - woohooo!)
vi said there were at least 30 words in her grid and i have found 140 so far :)
Morning Hurshy
morning nanette
me too with Concorde..it would fly out from Brum sometimes, and even the primary kids were out to watch.
After Ata and I met last w/e, the creative juices are waking up again and I made a beautiful braclet yesterday, lots of glass and metal beads in tones of blue
LOL Ata....it that case....................
oh, how nice fmitch!!
oh yay!!!! that sounds beautiful
well, that sounds lovely Mitch
I am off to see how much housework can be accomplished before I give out this morning
haven't they heard of being deep sixed???
happy babbling to all!
perhaps you'd just like to send it round and I could road test it this evening, I'm sure I have something I could wear with it.
LOL Might see if I can take pic of it and then you can borrow it virtually!
I* forgot to say we will be in Germany next weekend.
I could take it there and get commissions !
Oh, me too with Concorde, every time I heard it coming I would run to the window to watch it (in Hammersmith), the evening sun flashing off it majestically as it made it's way to Heathrow.....
hey FM, did I tell you last week I was meant to be drawing knotwork mooses?
it was majestic wasn't it
i love mooses
Ooh Karys how long are you going for and whereabouts? Ata, no you didn't I know what knotwork is and I know what mooses are but can't quite get the 2 words to work together in one phrase LOL
how do you draw a knotwork moose ?
Just a long weekend to a place called Bautzen
LOL um well ... with difficulty, Karys! I set up a challenge in my deviantArt knotwork group that people got given a random animal to try and put into a knotwork piece, adn of course I got something utterly impossible. Moose.
Well have a lovely time KArys. I got yr mail just haven't had 5 mins to mail you back :)
s'ok...don't make it a problem Mitch.
s'ok...don't make it a problem Mitch.
Hello, All. Knotwork moose? You could do them in the circle with their legs to the middle intertwined and their horns swirling about the outside. (I know exactly what I mean!)
Actually Ata, if one thinks of cave paintings and very highly styalised motifs it could be quite straightforwad ... famous last words!
vi vi!!! i got your card and it's fab and i've found 140 words so far!!
Ata...I just can't imagine how to achieve a knotwork moose....the best I ever did were plant holders
Yes, Karys, it was magnificent - and the sound of it; thunderous but beatiful -like absolutely nothing else.
yes, that would be the easy way and the *sensible* way to do it, Vi. So of course I did something completely different ... I'm just uploading it so you guys can see!
Hi Vicuna, you can positivly feel hurshy bounding in her chair with all the excitement.
Hey, hurshy! Glad you like it! I'm so pleased there are plenty of words. I just did a quick scan to make sure it was viable, but I didn't really know for sure. Did you find the Latin phrase, too?
of course :)
it is so funny, all the cat words you put in, i love it
we were lucky weren't we Zenmed ?
If only Babble snuck words into the grid on purpose, eh?
i'm sure it did put in potato on thanksgiving.
Is it uploaded yet, Ata? Is it? Is it?
getting there! its only the inking so far ... colouring to come ...
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/57 185550/

nonono i got it
Oh, fun, Ata! How's the coloring going to go? (See, I'm just too darn literal-minded.)
I have NO idea Vi!
I'm completely making this up as I'm going along
So, still plenty of invention to look forward to then!
can i get a clue for the re7,32 please 47 left
plenty of something, anyway! i'm wavering between doing sensible greens and browns, and silly pinks and browns and yellows and call it strawberry moose and friends
lol. Well, even if you go with sensible browns, you can still call it chocolate moose.
hi, all!
What are you coloring, Atalante?
Hello, pam.
*points down for the link*
saw it, thanks!
I did think of that, actrually the shape of their heads originated from trying to put a moose head in a mousse desert glass shape thing
May I please have a clue for re7,32?
WOW~ that is Something!
Okay, I can see that. It's surprising how dessert-glass-shaped your average moose actually is.
you could if i had it goldies

You think I can do sums???
Oh, well I just went to a Web site that did it for me. 30 degrees celsius is 86 degrees f.
can someone explain what or 6/18 means?

32F is freezing point of water...

last clue? ut5.
o
A latin plural for the child-bearing organ.
ut+2nd vowel+letter after q+third vowel
ut5 - where babies come from or is that the stork?
haz, dear, if you remember at any point soon, could you ask your husband whether he recommends glucosamine / chondritin tablets made specially for dogs, or whether he says to use any human glucosamine / chondritin capsules (ie like we can buy at Tescos etc). I'm trying to get a few more opinions than just 1 vet!
vbye
I'll try to remember to find out if they're any different.
did that make sense?
cos I can't see that they are *any* different, and vet ones cost *so* much more
Yes, it did. There may not be a great deal of difference and if you're going to be using them for years, it would make sense to buy them more cheaply.
they cost more? ...blimey, they're expensive enough as it is...
(Cue disciplinary action from the BVA for giving advice contrary to regulations 2345 sub-section 3.)
testing again
there we go, hetty's back
oh my gosh, yes they do! I've got a month pack for Hobbit and they were - get this - £22!
There you go hetty its back :)
They'll cost more from the vets anyway because they won't have the purchasing power of Tescos and their overheads will be that much greater.
Great! Profile is back--thanks for the help
cheaper to order on the internet... if you can trust the quality...
The thing you would need to check is the dosage, Atalante, because humans would be able to absorb more than a dog.
that's true. hadn't thought of that. I don't mind paying more for dog tablets if they really are better, but I get a bit upset paying 4 times as much for the words "for dogs" on them!
I will ... I've had 1 vet say use human tablets, 1 vet use dog tablets, and I'm trying to get some more opinions
I can understand that, Atalante, and as I say, for long-term use it does seem extortionate.
I do remember feeling slightly aggrieved when a lady rang one evening to ask about tablets that she had bought in the chemists 'because the vets' tablets were too dear.'
She hadn't even the wit to pretend that she had bought them in the vets!
but the dog ones are chocolate and bovril flavour ;) (well thats how my vet described them, don't know how she knows!!!)
well, there you go, dogs aren't supposed to have chocolate, so the people ones are probably better
She may well have tested them - vets are a funny lot.
hello everyone -- back for the last 11
hey nan
urf yes! that's not good ... one at least needs to get the right tablets and then see if there's any alternatives!
hi nan :)
I wanted to be a vet. Probably explains everything. and hi cnan!
Hello cybernan!
et4/4 anyone?
ce 5/12 following the letters?
Husband thinks that a test for prospective vets should include the ability not to be sick at certain smells. He was doing a careers convention at school and threatened to bring 'smells' with him....
don't ask that, hetty .....
hetty, i'm not telling you that
et 4: that old volcano
I think he's very right. Anyone who can't face anal glands emissions is not vet material!
eww. i am not vet material.
Im not hungry now either
Sorry - and I didn't even tell you what the smell was going to be!
Got it, thanks nan. I was so chuffed to see part odf my new email name (etal) in the grid I coudn't get past it to look for a different "e"
Oh go on then Haz, you know we really want to know.
what does he think is the worst smell? (everyone look away)
Dead lambs.
lambs in particular?
mint sauce?
What's so awful about asking for that old volcano anyway?
first ce 5/12?
hmmm i was pretty proud of my progress until i realized i'm 0for6 on eights and 2for7 on sevens
Yes, sheep seem to have a heavy odour about them at the best of times, introduce lambs that have been dead for a couple of days and it is pretty gross, apparently.
hmmmm that's right. lanolin is bad enough without other sheep smells as well
i think a lot of people get mad they missed it, hetty
ce5/12 - a lowest class Anglo-saxon peasant. c plus a mixed up word, as played by actors on stage.
Ah but think of the fun you have ahead of you finding them Leslie :)
haha mitch :)
ty haz
You're welcome, cybernan.
he 7?
he7 - to the he5/22 add the first two letters of the famous tower in Paris.
*blinks* thats an interesting word
ty again --- figured out the start but not the finish!
You're welcome!
It can be pluralled.
even more wow
Back shortly...
30 to go
you're just ahead of me, feenix, i've got 32 left
and if anyone wants to clue an 8, i wouldn't be mad at them
how about co
first ta 6?
haz just clued a really weird one
yup, the h is the only one i have :)
those who use crayons, leslie?
sitting out in the sun + ***reational center, nan
ea8/40 places where you dine
someone who hides things away - se8
excellent, thanks nan and kristin
ty leslie
co8 - parts of the brain
that one is co8/70 - should give you a clue!
first ta 5 ? --- cant get past french aunt
nm -- found it
Sounds like the Lone Ranger's sidekick, cybernan. Afternoon, all!
hello judi
there are two co 8 words arent there? I have one already - the brain clue one what about the other?
one who uses crayons, feenix
users of crayolas, feenix
hey jes
Cute video -- thanks for the help Haz and Leslie
good job nan!
hihi
and I'm missing an 8, I have the ones we've mentioned - 2 co, ea, he, se - what's the other one?
rec o
oh hang on theres 3 co 8 words - I have 2 already then
oooo
hi erda, your name was in the grid yesterday
co 8/45 co + something you do as maintenance on your tires
you do maintenance on tires? lol
co 8: beginning of halo around the sun + London's gallery of modern art
thanks kristin!
ty cnan!
that co8 do your tire thing - seriously,that isn't really a word!
anybody have the first se6?
i agree, ben
your welcome ;)
ok, maybe i'll use it once every 49.9 years if i was forced to by a fundamentalist freak who insisted on it because it was worth 45 points ...
jeeeeeeeeeeeez
is there another besides i've got a se****, jes?
yeah, before that one, leslie
hmmm, here go the monkeys
same first 3 letters + bird
ah thanks nan, s is greyed
bird?
off to do some sewing --- see you at the flip:)
i'm slow this morning i guess... haven't had any tea yet
a te 4/4, without the t, jes
bye nan, thanks for the help
yes, thank you!
Clue for the ea8, please?
places you lunch
Egad. I guess I'm having fish for lunch.
no way, 8's can't be fishworthy by definition
I didn't see it, therefore I must eat it.
haha, well then have a tr 5/12
lol. Please pass the tartar sauce.
I think recool should be a word. As in "I recooled my wine".
makes sense to me
anyone have any of the 7's i don't? i have: co7, co 7, he7, ro7
i agree judi.
There are two re7/32.
as long as it's a chardonnay and not a shiraz you are recooling!
te7/28 - a seabird had something to eat
i figured as much with the re's, my r boxes are sadly underappreciated today
aha, got one with the crayons
And you need to go in a different direction to find the other re7.
oh haz you're so clever ;)
i didn't have the fiver that made it more difficult
I hoped you would get it!
my husband is such a wuss - he just made his guest clear up some cat sick cos he couldn't bear to look at it!!
Well, that's one way to get rid of a guest, Ata!
No chance of him ever having aspirations towards a medical career, then.
LOL I know!
well I must have the 5 either as I can't get the other re7, any other clue Haz or Leslie?
and why can't you rehex someone?! what if it doesn't work the first time?
Ditto, Kristin.
make that "must not"!
or dehex them if you decide you like them again?
Puzzled over "utero" not being allowed.
14 left to go.
indeed!
change the last letter, Judi
the re's always make me feel blind
re7/32 - make someone go in a different direction.
thats haz!!
no wonder I can't get words, I can't type Thanks Haz!
uhdungeddit.
well, that is haz, so you're not exactly wrong there
You're welcome.
oh what the crap? you can co+ro6 but you can't re+re6?
Oops. Light dawns.
Judi - use the first four letters of the womb word, but change the vowel at the end (it's latin plural for the baby-growing organ)
it's a strange world we live in, jes ;)
Indeed, jes. Crap and recrap I say.
crazytalk, i say :)
judi! you almost made me spill my tea :)
Well, thanks, Haz. Figured there must have been some Latin twist to it.
awww my little cat has come creeping up in search of fuss and love after her little "incident"
You can depend on those Romans to be twisty.
but they built very straight roads!
Husband hasn't attached a sick bag round her neck?
They saved their imagination for the language, Atalante.
the second ou6/21?
The second ou6/21 - an anagram of the first, and meaning the same, but in the present.
change the tense of the first one, hetty
husband has run away to his studyk, never to be seen again lol
ou6 opp of in + past tense of eat
Geesh. If we ran away every time one of our pets yakked, we be knee-deep in it.
Thanks Haz. Trouble with my t's
You're welcome hetty.
afternoon everyone any clues for ao 5/10?
heart valve
the animals are always suddenly *mine* if they throw up or poo
hmm, help with the ro7 please?
Lucky you, Ata. Our rule is, whoever finds it, cleans it up.
pl of ro6/21
THERE ARE TOO MANY T's in this grid!
I'm *trying* to implement that!
ty leslie -looking right at it -duh
On the other hand, not too many re's
poo, don't have the 6/21 yet! just saw a list of 7s and knew i was missing the ro
au6,24 please?
a computer ro**** if you have wireless internet, feather
Drove, jes.
past of au4/5
au6/24 - imagine the car is a verb and make it past tense.
or lengthen the ro 4/5, a lopsided game
ah, ty leslie
ah. thanks haz. i tried the plural but not the past tense
all my 7s and 8s are done now, yay
You're welcome.
Pooh. I only have 4 out of 8 8's so far. Good news is,they're all C's!
Ooops. Stupider than I thought. I only have 2 8's remaining.
just before you got here, all the 8's were clued, judi, so if you go back in the log you can probably find them
I saw that. Leslie. Still working on the he8.
take your he 5/22 - one who does the spells - and add two different vowels on the end (and plural)
ce5,12 (the first)
1st ce 5/12-anyone?
jinx, mom :)
ce5/12 - c plus mixed up letters of what the actor plays on stage.
Well, now that's just silly. Sounds like a Harry Potter spell-casting word.
It's an Anglo-Saxon peasant of the lowest status.
He hadn't much going for him, even the name sounds strange.
TY, for that factoid, Haz. In other words, serf's up!
ty haz
i'm missing one a, have: an x3, ao x1, au x2
Exactly, Judi!
you're a kick in the pants today, judi
You're welcome, majmom.
BBL. Must go see what the mail lady hath brought.
THere are four an words.
Puns-R-us. I'm here all week. Thanks for coming!

58 words, no clues. i'm done!
nice job ben
run jane, run!
thanks.
first se6/21 please
no, drive, it's faster (that joke courtesy of my dad)
pab, first three letters are the same as the other se6, then alt. spelling of ode to a grecian ***
i'm sorry haz... either i'm anagramming the wrong word for that ce5, or i'm no good at anagramming today.
se6/21 - se plus four letters which if preceded by con would indicate worry.
thanks Leslie and Haz
ce + either/** + stick letter, jes
Okay, it's ce plus the word which goes with either (two letters) finish off with a consonant.
yup. i'm stupid today. i kept trying to put an extra e in there. thanks for cluesticking me :)
No problem.
if anyone would be so kind to help with my e's: i have ea x3, et x1, ex x2
another EA, another EX
You're missing an ea word - possibly plural French water?
hi all
Hello stidmama.
mornin' stid :)
probably you want the french word for "waters" (noun, plural)
ah that is it, now for this ex i'm missing

stid is so cosmopolitan
Sorry, hetty, we do cover some rare topics, that's for sure.
leslie, are those boots made for walking?
that's just what they'll do
"one of these days...etc" (almost as bad as dead lambs)
these boots are gonna walk all over YOU (dun dun dun)
The younger generation probably aren't hearing that bass guitar....
then they're missing out :)
ahem! that was the dun dun dun
Okay, SOME of the younger generation...

My new addiction is all your fault. :)
welcome to the nuthouse, doc
you're welcome :)
*grin* well Doc, addication isn't all that bad... LOL
I'd better take a new direction and head towards the kitchen. Food time! Bye for now.

thanks so much for the help haz!
later Haz!
have a good day, haz
ok, the (second) de5,22 and de6,36 are being stubborn and won't fall out of the grid for me.
h'lo crew
how're you doing today, doc? got the whole grid solved already?
mornin' hursh
Nah, just started. :) still 100 to go.
you aren't going to believe them... same first three letters, then pop on two vowels like a diminutive
he 6/21 and 6/24 any clues?
hey hurshmeister!
or is that hurshmeisterin? who remembers how to feminize german words?
like the midnight runners, spelled differently
excellent question, majmom, same ones i'm missing
he 6/21: legal compound word, he4 + "2"
great clue LeslieAnn!!
is that the second one or the first, leslie?
Yes, meisterin is feminine. I call our cat die Schnurrmeisterin. Hello, all.
no HE 6/24. do you want the 5/24?
danke vi! guten tag!
was ist schnurr auf englisch?
they're all very similar, jes. technically it's de 6/36, take off the plural it's de 5/22.
oh! no it's not...thank you leslie :)
yes sorry-get glasses on
purr
(Also snore, funnily enough.)
ocean's 13 is very funny but i didn't realize that neither julia roberts nor catherine zeta jones would be in it.
need a differnt he6 clue pls.
hello Atalante!
he6/36 is people who cast spells
interesting! there's a big difference between snoring and purring! I wish my husband would purr in his sleep!
hi!
co6/46 or co8/70, please?
No kidding, Ata. When one happens I kick (the husband) when the other happens I pet (the cat).
*grin* I never put those words together before Atalante, good spot!
ce 6/21?
co8/45 - those who apply hues
and the he that is the legal word?
co 6/46? or co 6/36: the covering on the brain, the cerebral co****
and then plural
ce6/21 - French cherry again
co8/70 is plural of co6/36--a portion of the brain
Thanks, stid!
oh blast thanks vicuna
the he that is legal is opposite of "there" + give the clue ** me
also, hursh says 136
thanks Stid.
how about the he5/24?
re7,32 (first) please?
136 what?
past tense of cast a spell, maj
he5/24 is past tense of to cast a spell
gwen, I LOVE the pic of your new grandbaby! is that you holding him?
ty leslie
i dunno, she gave that message for you yesterday. hursh?
Yep! Me & hubby, at son's college graduation
Oh, I bet it's how many words she found in a grid I sent her. But she said she was over 140 today!
well done. :-) you must be so proud of all of them!
Thanks for passing on the message, anyway! =)
well i'm late ;)
yes, good job leslie :)

Yes indeed.
yay leslie!
YAY leslieAnn!
i hope to find 10 more today to make a nice even 150...
Yay for LeslieA!
There you are, hurshy. Good thing I'd already seen you today, or I would have been utterly baffled by that message! lol
it's raining. long, wet, gray drops hanging off the leaves and soaking into the soil
re7,32 (first) please? (if someone already answered that, i'm sorry... i missed it)
really? i would have thought you would figure it out. oh well.
sounds pretty, stid
re 7/32: put red and yellow on again
Rain here, too. The real advantage of being a gardener is that you actually like rain.
Nope, just not that smart, hursh! =)
it's one of those lovely curl up and read rainy days
thankee, stid
How about the second re7?
yep. I did water some yesterday, but the rest of the yard still needed it. I think I'll have some tea and get out books later.
to take a detour, erda
second re 7: to change the course a train or shipment will take re + r5
Curses on C's!
Tea and books... sounds lovely. The only books I've read today have been Dr Seuss.
Thanks ever so, stid~!!
to decide on a different way to go
dr. seuss is an excellent choice, vic
My favorite Seuss book is Fox in Sox
It wasn't technically MY choice, jesdraggon!
i love the grinch
all right, i'm off for the day. good luck, folks!
first re6,18?
can i have a rundown of the 8's?
get up again, jes
I like many of them, actually. This morning was "The Circus McGurkus."
ah, well. you should pick up a copy of Catwings by Ursula K. LeGuin. it's an excellent kid's book
By LeslieA.
I mean Bye. I was not implying that you had written Dr Seuss's books.
fish from gwen :) thanks!
Is that one illustrated by Edward Gorey, jes?
i don't remember off hand. lemme go look.

Oh, then I'm not thinking of the right one. I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip!
there's a whole series of them, but the first one's the best (as usual)
Poor feather! Is Daniel still in his crib?
that is frustrating! are there any other stores you could get it from?
he has one of those convertible ones, goes from crib to toddler bed to full size headboard.
good morning
well feather, you'll just have to hold it in then ;)
hello mom od 3
i've been looking around online. found another i like, can get it shipped to me in a more reasonable time, but will have to pay shipping
of three? or just odd...
Oh, right. That's the kind we got, too. Maybe the new baby can stay in a bassinett for the first few weeks!
oh, and if you don't have it, vic, one of the cutest books EVER is Harold and the Purple Crayon

most of the stores won't do delivery to them
walmart does, for SOME items. of course, not the new one i found that i like in that color. argh!
i have a crib i can send you
had to stop looking at cribs and take a babble break, before i really start to babble!

Poor stid... or lucky stid?
oh hurshy -- we're all madly in love with you! just he's close enough to show it. :-)
daniel got a nice goose egg this afternoon, speaking of ice
tripped while running, smacked his head on the pavement
And he's the kissiest cat, too.
a bit of both, Vi -- I got started painting some scarves yesterday and had hoped to add finishing touches this afternoon.
OH MY GOD...i can't stand my kids right now
but he can't help me find dratted c words
hint hint
yes, he IS the kissiest!
oh, poor kid! my kids did that all too often.
start with your crayolas, hursh :)
how many are you missing hursh
oh tell your daughter very nice butterfly, vi
well, there's a ce5 that is like "serf"
(See, it's a perfectly good word.)

Thanks, hurshy. She says she's going to be an artist when she grows up.

co8's - those who apply hues, to turn together, cerebral parts of brains
the other co8 has do do with crayons
oooh hurshy got a butterfly? I got a flower from Vi's daughter! they obviously have their mother's talent

ok, so now me! i'm missing two C words, 6 letters and under
That is a wonderful way to keep sharing the love, Vi!

how about as "border" around the room
got the other
I could paper the entire house with them! I save all my absolute favorites, of course, but still...
I started scanning my boys' work a few years ago (not all of it, just the nicer pieces) and that makes it easy to keep them without worrying about mildew damage
go feather go!
TRATTERS
um hurshy? that word does not exist in the grid...
what'd you call us? sounds like an insult! hehe
No fair! While you guys have been productively finding c's, you've been distracting me so that I haven't done anything!
i don't think it exists at all
good idea stid..i also saw a good idea..to take a pic of the child holding the "art"...cute.
i just like to spell something with the letters i have left

i have two of the D words, the bug spray and d + people you no longer are married to. are the other two fishy or tough?

I think to see someo of the stuff you guys see I need to have a paid membership. Like somehow you know the point value for the word ahead of time
thank, une
oh, sorry, no there are two! It's the first one
I have the people who perform a spell...
he 5/22 is somone who might put a spell on somebody
have that one
Melia do you have stats?
meliae, you can click on Lickety's Babble Clues at the bottom of the page and access the point values
he 5/22 is 3rd person present tense verb of 1st one.
follow that with 2 vowels in unusual order
What une said :)
i have the yllow boxes and the green boxes yes
meliae, we're using lickety's babble clues, found bottom left, under friends of babble
oh ok, thank you Une
yw :-)
hi, feather
first tu5,12?
and hi there all
tu5/12 one who receives instruction
Back to finish--tomatos are planted.
hey, feather :-)
hi, s
ah, feather--a fish for me, as I had the instructor!
hi, feather and scrab
*scrabbler
He 5/22 is the start of the word HE and its 5 letters long with a point score of 22 (what the numbers are at the bottom) of the tile.
Hi Scrabbler
hi feather! its teague!
thanks, une, can'tbelieve I missed that he 5, 22
hi scrabbler!
hi teague, why the different screenname?
Now I need the 7...
:-D
Hi Pam--is your headache gone? Mine faded away by lunchtime today.
did you get the 7, pam?
well, we can't log out of aunts account.
Hi Angelina Jolie-Pitt.
Thanks, scrab, it is low-lying, not anything to medicate!
hah hah.
No, jellen, it is eluding me...
very funny scrabbler.
pam the vowels are **ther, or
thanks---all the e's threw me, but I got it!
Angelina--you should see what they write about you and Brad in the tabloids---shocking stuff.
lol scrabs!
pam, make it plural for the 8
I try not to pay attention to gossip. ;)
clicking on the log out button isn't working teague?
nope. tried 30 times
Of course, Angelina, it could destroy your self-image.
exactly.
huh, weird
stars don't do that now do they?
did you try restarting the computer, teague?
Hello featherbee! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
no, let me ask aunt if I could. they just set it up.
down to 12 left!
GO feather
go, feather!
go, Feather!
Hi Scrabbler! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Ajolie are you using FireFox? mozilla
that is a really clever help, but it almost like cheating too, lol. Thank you
ha, 12 left, and i had missed the things on the ends of your feet
brb
meliae, you might feel differently on a 250+ grid! i tend to use the list on bigger grids, on smaller ones i don't
well I think I will use it when I give up, and feel I have entered all I can find and need a bit more help
Minveryork--you are always the official greeter to those entering Babble Land. So polite and welcoming!
yep, that's also how i do it. get as far as i can without it, then when i've hit the wall, start using it.
Cheating vs assistance
I went to the list after I 65 words. I always try to do half without the list and then I go to the list. I would never finish without it.I got 14 more words left to go
it all depends on if you want to finish the grid or not, and how much time you have!
thanks, jellen, just read your suggestion for the 8
do you print it out, or just go back and forth?
Melia i find that looking at the other letters around the word helps.
I don't use the lists, but then, I don't finish the grids often!
yw, pam
back and forth. there's a "bulk add" button down at the bottom of the list
Help on de6, please?
yes I found that and added my words to it
if you really get into it, you can email lickety to try his special babble expert browser, that runs the list and the grid at the same time
I just discovered the bulk/add feature. I just love it!
ooh, I found it, LOL
I just got that from Lickety, but have not used it yet
used to be slang for amphetamines, scrab
is the pro really worth it, and is that a lifetime fee or just for a year?
Food break. BRB
min, when you do, i suggest looking in the "resources" button for the user guide
lifetime fee.
after 2 weeks, you'll lose the tile stats and the word stats, and how many words there are total.
Yeah, Pam, I call my pills uppers + downers, LOL
first ta5,10, please?
first re7, please?
k, thank you afk a bit need to get dinner started

Ok, now I got it! Thank you for all the different clues

the Queens actual birthday is in April, her 'official@birthday is celebrated now, don't knpw why...

william. i meant william.
lol
*cough* *blush*
hi @H'urshy, are you chocolate?..... got to go now, can't keep eyes open
just 2 feather
Um Prince Hottie will likely not reign
i am not made of chocolate, if that's what you mean.... i do enjoy eating it, though, so if you are what you eat, you'd think i would be.
grr, cannot find this last SE!
ok, i know it's se4 or se6. i have only one se6.
why will prince hottie not reign? i mean even if dumbo doesn't abdicate, after he knocks off...
se ends like dis**** or con**** (which rhyme with the sea bird)
se5/22 word is past tense of intercourse featherbee
I dont think he will.
yes, one birthday a year is bad enuf, sorry hurshy, wasn't meaning to be rude, isn't that the brand that is a favourite in usa?
are they going to ditch the monarchy altogether???

Hi Fiber Art! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

don't we all know a few?
That would be my old neighbour fiber
cretin
that's cretin
and ideas on the 2nd ou6,21?
the first 2 ou6 are different tenses of the same verb
dehex should be a word 8-(
present tense of the first
The ou6/21 word is ou plus to consume food Dindrane
mmmm same thing :)
I agree, Gwen. So should recool

Fiber art and hurshy - www.skinit.com
Or I guess you could paint it
hi5 = one who hi4/5
this is a fantastic site for all things skin art for you electic equipment
i'd be leery of painting it after an earlier laptop had a run-in with some laundry detergent in my backpack
that was a pre-windows laptop!
I was only kidding--I wouldn't have the guts to apply paint to mine
oh crap Hursy that is not good
Hi everyone! may i have a clue for the second re7 please?
Maybe stick-on rhinestones
you might get re*****d if there's construction
re7 = take a new path
the police will make you go a different way if there is a major problem
re7: go a different way
thank you feather. sheesh couldn't even see that one!
yay, i get to help the dawg for once!
you're always done before me
not that many movies make me cry. it's a wonderful life does, both beginning and end. and cold mountain did. but not much else. and yet, the end of legally blonde gets me EVERY TIME.
hehe, you sap hurshy
i've seen it several times and the graduation just always gets me. esp when is says emmit is proposing to elle... tonight.
i know, i love that movie
this is the first time i've noticed that bruiser has a mortarboard on at the ceremony too, lol
(legally blonde?) OMG
i know, isn't it weird?
it's mystifying.
that video was stranger than strange!
casablanca doesn't make me cry.
watching vampire secrets
hurshy, me neither LOL
my girl doesn't make me cry
i'm sure vampire secrets wouldn't make me cry
Hair. now there's a tearjerker.
Hurshy how can that NOT make you cry
steel magnolias doesn't get me either.
Boys on the side every dang time i watch it i cry
but legally blonde, the tears well up. go figure.
hurshy, me neither again!
hello all. I usually cry at The Lion King
Hi, steph
"lion king?) OMG
the only thing i really like about the lion king is hakuna matata
Hi Jellen
I dont watch the Lion King
It was sad, when Simbas dad got killed!
I am missing T words mmm
though it was pretty boring, sorry. but the CD of the broadway version is fantastic!
not the best film but still sad
y'all are weird
what IS brimstone??
i know what fire is...
is it like volcanic lava?!
it's sulphur
oh
why don't they just say so then
it's shrek!
not as scary as hellfire and brimstone
archaic name. cuz burning in fire and sulphur isn't as scary
brimstone os one of those 3 or 4 milliion archaic english words that survives mostly as part of a phrase
RENNIE
burning is scary no matter how you slice it
dawg!
ok we know what makes you cry, what film scares you
it IS shrek. got it in one.
birds
like "sat on her tuffet." sat on her WHAT?? LOL
stepford wives *shudder*
wolfen scares me
not seen it
have you seen Wolf Creek, its scary
hush, hush sweet charolotte
the hunger scares me as well
not seen these
mostly if i think something will scare me i just avoid watching it. but the stepford wives was famous and i didn't know what it was about and by the time i knew how scary it was it was too late.
just saw jeepers creepers, pretty scary too
psycho
homicidal
psycho is scary, even when you know the knife is coming
when i was little, frankenstein with boris karloff scared the bejeebers outta me
re-animator
Hi everyone
clue for ea8? plz
Amityville horror, but not the recent remake, ive not seen it, the original one was fab and terrifying
the wizard of oz scared me very much, first saw it when i was four. it still gets me a little...
hey mom
hi mom
places where you do the ea5 sudoku
ea8 places to have a meal
Hi Renfield and Steph
mmmm, frankenstein. many many bad movies about frankenstine but i try to see them all. bad habit i know 8-)
hi Mom and sudoku
yes Hurshy its scary when you are little
thanks
hi, again
hi all
Hi LBD
hi pam
HI Pam and Sudoku
hey pam hey sudo
I'm with Hurshy on the Wizard of Oz
mom, lbd, sudoku, steph, and all
Hi, ren
yes, Wiz of Oz is a scary movie
wizard of oz, one of the greatest movies of all time!
the scary parts are the best part. (and the songs)
least scary but meant to be scary film ever was blair witch, total crap!
hi everyone that came in while i was faffing about
Threw me for a loop when I was little and saw the Wicked Witch actress doing Maxwell House commercials.
hi herin
Hi Herin
hi herin, lol Mom
blair witch gave me seasickness
I saw Fantasia when I was really little, and the dinosour bones scared me to pieces
hey herin
LOLOL, mom
hi i am still contemplating finishing this or getting dressed to get eggs benidict stuff
I like the monkeys when I got older, but never was a huge Wizard of Oz fan
Gwen, I went to the cinema to see it and was prepared to be terrified, what a let down.
"I'll get you my pretty!"
I dont tend to watch scary movies,
never EVER go to the movies with expectations. you will ALWAYS be let down one way or the other
There is a door stop that is the wicked witch of the east feet and her ruby slippers, too. That I want to get
try to assume the picture is going to suck, then you will be able to appreciate whatever you get 8-)
best time i had in a theater...San diego, Movie: Top Gun, theater filled with sailors! ROFL
star trek 6 was everything i could have hoped for and more.... sigh....
good idea Gwen
Lb Were the sailors at least hottish and in uniform?
Yeah, that was a good one Hursh
Tom Cruise was lush in Top Gun
when i saw "Blow Out" I thought it was about space aliens. hated it! but it was my fault, since it's a political thriller with no aliens in it!! (true story, but I was like 10)
sounds like a riot, lbd!
herin, the sailors were all in uniform, the training base is just down the road from the theater
(top gun?) OMG
get ya a box of good chocos that way if the movie's no good - you've got something to enjoy
tom cruise definitely looked his best in top gun, and few good men.
a good audience can certainly improve a movie
Oh mmmm movie or saliors that would have been a hard choice for me
sailors called the movie, Top Tongue!
I remember going to see Rocky 4 or was it 5 and the whole picture house was cheering him on! It was great
it was an experience to hear all those male voices singing the songs with the movie
mmmm NO COMMENT
i once saw war of the worlds (1950s version) in a college town with a lof of film students and they laughed at all the hokey lines. never knew how funny that picture was till then!
i normally don't like going to the big screen shows...i always get stuck next to the talkers or the ones with itty bitty bladders
dawg, we ALL get stuck by talkers. it's not just you 8-)
matinees are the way to go, except for kid movies - like ocean's 13 today - maybe 20 people in the theater, tops
If you have to pee get a aisle seat, if you have a mobile phone and it rings be prepared for me to hunt you done and drop it in your drink
i agree dawg - i buy the movies
so, are the co8s compound words?
mostly i don't go to the theater anyway, but when it's something i really want to see...
LOL, infernal!
people who chromatise
spin together
some movies are crap on a tv set -- you don't experience them properly except on the big scrreen. example: dark crystal
Hubs and I went to see space cowboys...lady two seats down musta been blind in one eye and deaf in one ear. "Is that Jimmy Gardner? Gee he looks old"
brain parts
okay, got the chromatic word. how bout the last two>
Wow Gwen, you have seen some amount of films
and lord of the rings. definitely awesome on the big screen
my older brother was a film nut and i got to go a lot. still see a good number of movies, but mostly horror, scifi, fantasy
I made a person sit in the actual isle when they got up to answer the fone in Lord of the Rings half way through - as i growled,' if you dont want to get hurt dont think about walking BACK in frount of me'
especially the door scene in the two towers.... ohhhhh
LOTR, no one will make a better picture than that for many many years, i predict
I had the extended version of Lord of the Rings 2 spoiled by teenager talkers, i growled at them 2 at the end of the flick
why dont people turn their bloody phnes off
it will be hard pressed to surpass LOTR for sure
cuz they think it's their living room, steph (and cuz their ass****s)
*phones
Steph, because they are rude and self-centered
Steph i have a Etiquite book from the 1940s and ettiquet and the theater and how to behave
lol..sorry, just popped in....hi all~~...i've got ya beat on the movie folks though...
=they're, not their! (oops)
Hi Mom01
Hi Mom1
hi mom01
hye momo1
finally got the brain parts, ty hurshy
theaters here all have an add that asks people not to talk and to turn off their cell phones during the movie.
last picture i went to w/the kids...after the movie, the people who'd been talking behind us the whole time..the lady smashed into my sons seat, then pulled my hair when passig mine..then...loudly farted on/at my daughters head
OMG Mom01
Lovely Mom just lovely
uh, yeah, lol
mom, OMG
Mom1 good lord did you go to the farm to watch the movie? obviously the Pigs were allowed in
wow!
wonder if they came for the movie or just to assault innocent strangers?
opps Mom1 :) didnt see the second MOM
I don't understand people who bring their itty bitty babies to the theater.
Herin, I knew who you meant and I am sure Mom01 did too
when i saw star trek 6, i went with my dad. we got there 3 hours early to get a good place in line. we go in, we get the perfect seats in the theater, cause we're some of the first ones in. then this guy comes and sits RIGHT NEXT to me, despite the so many empty seats. then he starts TALKING to me, like he's there WITH us. at the end of the movie, all the people on the other side of him leave, and i'm waiting for my dad to tie his shoe, and this guy is still there like he's waiting for us...
yeah, let's just say it must have been the first of the month & these people had some money.
Hurshy- taser works well
must have liked teh look of you Hurshy
hurshy, he musta been very lonely!
it was so creepy
Hursh, did you get his name?
glad i was with my dad
you should have done that Spock thing to him
Best movie experience i every had was with my dad, we say Days of Thunder and um a kids movie, it was in a country hall
i had some nice chats with strangers before and after seeing LOTR, which I saw 22 X 5 X 9 times
hahah steph...the vulcan nerve pinch!
why, does he sound like your type dawg? ;)
clue for de6 plz?
start talking into your collar..."scotty, two to beam up"
I met my now gone best at Seven
i don't mind chatting with strangers, when they talk in a manner that suits talking to strangers. this guy was seriously talking like he already knew me, it was weird.
ooh, seven is a good film
brad is lush
nah, hursh, just wondering if he was trying to pick you up.
best brad pitt movie ever. he plays an arrogant idiot. perfect casting LOL
Seven scared the crap out of, i dont usually watch scary movies and the worse thing was i was home alone that night
He was good in Kalifornia, total creepy
i liked brad in 7 years in tibet.
i've been to some conventions and met some star trek fans who are just that weird. some of them can be scary but they are mostly harmless
yes, avoid Seven if you don't like scary movies. so, anyone every decipher the gibberish on the starting, cuz I did 8-)
every=ever
Hi to all who entered while I was away. How are you?
i spose it's not fair of me that if he'd been cute i probably wouldn't have minded...

Hi Min!

later prism
well, i was kinda hoping there'd be more chatter here... what's goin on with you folks?
I'm watching Enough on TV
I keep wandering off, Jes....
Avoiding housework
enough? never heard of it. what's it about?
I watched Shrek, which I had never seen, now the SNL tribute to Chris Farley, which I hadn't seen
It's JLo in a abusive marriage. I think she's going to get even
ah. movie, not a show then?
*Jennifer Lopez
Yes a movie.
the first shrek? what'd you think?
I loved the first Shrek
I liked it, Jes
howdy babble buds!
hi, adhd
Hi DO
I thought it was really clever, and funny
hi, Do
have u seen Shrek 3 yet?
I got a kick out of Shrek 2 -- didn't see 1
I haven't seen 3 yet
i liked 1 better
have you been to disney?
you'll recognize it in 1, can't remember if they showed it in 2
haven't seen 2oor 3
*or
did u recognize disney world in the movie?
i went to disney AFTER i'd seen the movie, then watched it again
never been there, adhd
Never been to Disney World
i went w/my son and his wife and kids twice
i liked the first shrek ok, wasn't as impressed with the second. though you just about cannot go wrong with Puss In Boots :)
the second time we went in my son's RV and stayed at the campground.. it was awesome
i agree jes... i said before i liked 1 better. can't wait to see 3
Yes Puss in Boots was the highlight of 2 for me.
May not see Shrek 3 -- we have a funky little movie theatre here in Paradise which gets first-runs, no multiplex, no commercials, just a slide show of local happenings before the main feature, and one showing per night, at 7 pm but not on Sundays. Sometimes there's a 9 pm showing of a special film, usually an Indie, mucho sophistication. I think I missed Shrek 3 (was too busy).
what about the movie was like disney world?
two towns over we have a theater inside the town hall... so 50s, but love it.
brb
Loved/love Puss in Boots and that big-eyed stare my own Cat gives me too.
three is very funny, more adult humour than kid
the castle, the main street, characters... i'd have to watch it again to give you specifics... can't remember off hand
the characters were all out of disney movies....
thanks, adhd...
how far along r u guys w/this grid? I only got 30 words before falling asleep last night (or earlier today.. 1am i should say)
do you remember the artist that did all those prints of animals and children w/those eyes?
my dad wouldn't let my kid sister have any when we were kids.. thought they were too sad
I remember the eyes,...
not just the characters pam, but the area... i'll view it again and tell you then. disney is incredible to see
Good evening all.
thanks, adhd.
hi, weegee
hiya weegee. howya be?
pam... i didn't know you were so close... where in MA?
hi weegee
boston
i have one word altogether lol
my kid sis lives up that way.. swamp-something
swampscott
Movied out, saw 2 today... one wonderful -Waitress- and one toooo sad, In the Land of Women.. bargain matinees. I see it's movie time here, too!
GO MANDY GO
i want to have a babbler's picic this summer
what's the icon theme for today?
? what you mean ad?
I need to get some rest---good night, all
night pam. and i need to buckle down and get some words!!
Hello and good night all at once Pam
niters pam
any clues for the CO8s?
DO -- for today's icon theme, see mine (and have a look at the link)
theme? this late I figure it's a free for all, or ladies' choice, whichever you prefer
co 8/45 = co + what the earth does on it's axis
ad, another is those who crayon
hello weegee -- that message for ADHD (Do) applies to you too - LOL!
co8 ones who use crayons
co 8/45 = co 7/32 plural the co 7/32 is what a person is called who uses crayolas
and now I'm diving into the grid for my last 31
ah... i love my wellies (LL Bean) but they're just boring green. i'll check the lid after i've gotten some more words, k jilli? i just got here.
jinx buy me a coke jellen... similar brain areas? co 8
i'm sorry, i need the last 2 co8
co 8 = think brain and spinal
ad, ends with start of Lone Star state
and the big state along the gulf
we're drinking from the same bottle here I think lol!
that's the co6 no? cerebral co6
glug glug weegee
good grog weegee
ya, ren, I'm on shiraz lately
and the 8 before the cerebral co6
plural that brain AD, then spin the earth for the former
boy am i functionally brain dead tonite... it's rare that i fumble on the larger words
I played with a bunch of monkeys to get the long h's
what is shiraz?
shiraz is a lovely red wine, 4 oz a day very good for the body in some way or other
thank you so much for the great clues!!
i'm saving some good grog for something special... 5 year old mead
did you brew that mead yourself?
red wine - good for the thumpity thump
i've been told every year with every exam, drink some every day, but i never do.. i'm a cheap date cuz it don't take much to git this baby buzzin'
and since i'm an ADHDer, i don't like anything that'll mellow me out. so it was suggested to have it before bed. one of these day's i'll try it
'she's a cheap date..." tommy tutone..."hey june"
no my sister in law has been making it for years
oh, I know what you mean. Two glasses and I get pretty friendly, got to watch that
and my brother in law owns a brew shop in Maine and he brew beer, wine, mead and soda. he brought his 10 year (store) anniversary mead to a family function last year... omg was it some yummy grog
i don't get friendly, a cup of anything and i'm non-functioning in any way
bro-in-law with a brew shop, what luck! That's right up there with dry cleaner, plumber, electrician... just what a gal needs!
i mean... i don't get nasty, i just fall asleep
except he lives ten hours away. my dad is a retired dry cleaner... i just picked up some dry cleaning today.. boy do i miss not having to ever do ironing
Iron? I've heard of that...
hey again all. wandered back to see if there's chattin goin' on :)
you'd be amazed at what people bring to the dry cleaners... jeans? c'mon. bras? and i'm not referrig to laundering... dry cleaning
dry clean bras???? OMG, that's just peculiar!
are they at least expensive bras?
That is a bit odd
I let a friend talk me into buying pretty colored ones from... Fredericks of Hollywood. Got to admit they're awfully nice. She insisted I needed new ones before meeting up with my new/old sweetheart
new/old? a rekindled romance? please do tell... this is the stuff chick flicks are made of lol
Oh, poop. Cat out of bag
Yes, after 27 years
really? and... go on
i love happy endings... even if they take forever
brb
and did he/she like the pretty bras? sry your profile only says you're human.
Met him when I was 12, he was 13. We're similarly nerdy/geeky. He took me for walks through jr & sr high school, would just show up, then he left for college across the country. I joined him there a year later and we lived together for a year or so after he, then I graduated.
jesdraggon, howdy!
hey empress!
how are things?
how's your end of the continent tonight?
and.... more
pretty slow here. did a bunch of yard work this morning, but it's raining now
it's hot and humid. :p ditto for you?
cold and drizzly, actuall
so i'm hanging out and reading about weegee's chickflick life :)
sounds fun. :)
Oh, it's so hokey
lol did you hear me describe it as that jes, or do we just think alike
I fireworks-ed earlier, so I'm not staying... just wanted to not be a phantom for once. :p
hokey is good, weegee!
indeed. doc ezra stopped in earlier and said hello
naw... it's fun
go on weegee.......
i'm getting all this down wee... i'll share the movie profits with you, promise
he was sitting right next to me while I was also playing... and **he didn't say he saw you**?!?
Last summer, out of the blue, he sent me a book... Nancy Kalish's Lost & Found Lovers, facts & fantasies of rekindled romances... with no note included.
guess not... you should stick and ice cube down his shirt or something for that ;) he just said he was blaming me for his new addiction and then dissappeared
wow... after 27 years. how did he know where to find you?
aw...weegee that's sweet!
I got his email from our alumni site and sent cryptic email - after 27 years, why now? Explain yourself. Took several weeks before I got email back
poo
our college only graduates about 50 people a year, hard to get out of touch, actually
hey again nutter :)
wait a sec... did he just disappear on you after he graduated?
he blames both of us, Jes. :p said he almost missed a meeting the other day because of it.
hey jes...stupid comp here remembered my password, some stranger entered words in my name.
hey nutty buddy!!!!!
hahah! and that's my fault how? i still manage to make it to work :)
ah... well, they basically just said hi and then dissapeared
No, AD, we were quite happily living together until I got major cold feet about getting married and disappearing into mommy land
and a bunch of letters and ...
oh... so you broke up then? and who moved out?
hey Nutty
so wee - you lived together for how long before you moved?
all fixed, no more nut imposters!
ok, well, Jes, I'm off! good to see you, albeit briefly!
I created the distance but he moved out So, our mom's still live only a couple of miles apart and we each have a sibling in hometown, so we met last Oct just to talk. Turns out he'd felt guilty for leaving
have a good evening, din!
goody!!! there's only one nutster
you too!
this world couldn't handle another
whew, only one Nut is enough
nope - sure couldn't nut - how's hubby nut?
did he/you ever marry? have kids? divorce?
bye, Dindrane
did he ever marry wee????
he's sleeping and complaining about the bed when he's awake
my screen name elsewhere is number1nut. wanted number1nutcase (another sobriquet), but the case wouldn't fit. someone thought i was a guy and numbering my balls.
mezzie's been asleep since 9 last night
We live several states apart and have daily phone and email contact. I've been married and divorced, no kids.
and him?
hmmm....me thinks my sleepy drugs are working...i'm heading back to the cot, who's springs i am so intimately acquainted.
with
ok sweetie poo see you tomorrow
well, sleep sweet nut. hope mezzie feels better soon
are you heading home tomorrow nut?
tell mezzie i sayz hello renster
There's the difficult part.
i will
take care, nut
get some good sleep Nutty (Hugs)
uh oh... here it comes... duhduhduh dunh
he's crazy. or gay. or seeing someone else?
Right you are, so he hasn't seen the pretty bras.
or still married
well, not gay cuz he wouldn't care about the bras. what is it then?
well, wouldn't that fit under seeing someone else?
i need some chocolate now
Weegee, thanks for sharing. I'm getting a divorce after 20 years of marriage with no kids.
me too do - pass it out
heheh. i'm at my folks' place. mom and i are having ice cream for dinner :)
up for a breath of air and tring to follow about three story lines!
yikes jelle
no... you can just leave 'someone else'... not so a wife
still married, 13 year old daughter, medicated wife. He left once when dtr was 8 but returned when she asked him not to leave her alone with her mom...
well, i guess that's sorta true. unless the someone else is crazy...
i've got kissables, kisses, hugs, reeses pieces and mounds bars
kissables please
oooh! coconut :)
Who doesn't like hugs and kisses?
ah wee - arrrrrrrrrgggggghh
medicate for what? if it's mental that's a tuff call. my sister went thru almost EXACTLY the same scenario
how medicated, wee? if he leaves/divorces how good are the chances that he'll get custody?
Yes, well... we visited our moms in Jan and again in May... in Jan I helped him move his mom into assisted living - Alz. unit, very sad... she remembered me and spoke to us as if we hadn't ever split, no recall of his wife and daughter.
that's how alz is wee - my mom passed last year and she was about 10 in her mind
but what about the wife? psych problems?
Wife is either manic and screaming at daughter, who is talented straight A student, or zombie sleepy.
My mom had Alzheimer's, too, renfield. Gone 5 years.
ouch wee! that's no way to live for a child!!
wife is not properly medicated then :( but certainly understand why they'd wanna get away from her.
((((jelle))))
sounds like bipolar;manic/depressive to me
so he stays out of guilt?
you too ((renfield))
sry jellen and rennie
Yes to the bipolar. Not guilt, duty perhaps. Plus, he, I and he thinks daughterare on the spectrum for Aspergers...
is the wife certifiable?
So if he and I'd married and had a child chances very high child would have full blown autism. Very odd how it all worked out. Wife and her sisters all medicated for severe depression.
she could be sent to a sanitarium to live and he could get custody. then get together with you. there.
just make sure you don't live near where they live now, so the chick-flick doesn't turn into a horror-flick with her breaking out and seeking revenge
2 movies in one!
but no vampires :)
such sad stories! Nothing I can do so back to the grid
ah come on.....we need a vampire
Distance is best for the time being, you're right Jes. The daughter is #1 concern...I can wait. And I do love vampire books-- P N Elrod, the Lee Nez series, and the early Laurel K Hamiltons!
oh, alright. maybe she's turning into a vampire and that's why she's having such mood swings?
can he get the daughter away from the mother? sounds like it's a greater detriment for her to stay
yourang?
That would make me cranky, jes. :^)
i just blew my nose on a cheetos napkin...ewwww!!!
seriously wee--is he considering divorce? and what are the custody arrangements likely to end up with that kind of mental health issue?
hey owl!!!!!!
hey tempowl... howya be??
Hi TO
hey, has anyone got any re's?
turning into a vampire, jell? yeah i imagine it'd make me cranky too. i'd much rather be a were-critter.
No, I expect she's just another of the walking wounded, like most of us. She had to have something or he wouldn't have married her. I think the whole courtroom battle thing is what's holding him back.
im stuck :(
we all do, scots..which one are you looking for?
i be a vampire this week. no sun, do all my errand at night
Once a month?? Not much differencce to me!
daft... re 7 is the old highway 66
i'll be the vampire - jes will be the were thing
Hi 72 Temple Owl! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
yay! i get to shapeshift :)
ok owl can be the vampire this week
hi min
When I need kitty litter from Wally World I always go at night! Remember Jes, can shift shape but you maintain same mass...
my doctor fills orders for vampires
any of them :(
re 5/10 is something so out of style that it's back in style
thanks wee
What Rx, AD?
everytime he gives me a slip for the blood lab, they draw enough for a vampire party!!
really? but wee... in all the movies the were-form is much bigger! that's ok though, i think a 130 pound wolf would be plenty big enough to do some damage :)
baggies of b l o o d?????
thnks jes :)
jes, check out the Aimee & David Thurlo books...Lee Nez, Navajo 1/2 vampire, or nightwalker as they're called on the rez... very good
daft, have you got the ro tool(s)? Also start w/ 66
hmm. sounds sorta familiar. wonder if i saw a movie based on one? i'll try to remember but i tend to read sort of randomly... things i pick up at garage sales and such.
has anyone got re5/20? :(
latin for kings daft
i'm not there yet... sry scots
i have all the ro's just re's i only have the two that have been clues

at the flip? i'll probably still be here, or here again if i decide to go home tonight.
which he5? i put an r in front of all of them and it won't take any of them. reirs, rexed, rexes
haven't had supper yet, but want to finish first. Hard to concentrate while following chat and TV!
re+ use crayons
hiya jili!
it'll take one to those, Do.
daft, and the sun comes up again
Congratulations Jellon on your early finish!Good for U
GO JILLI GO RAH RAH RAH ..shakes the pom poms...shakes the booty...cartwheel... GO GO GO
TV here is great when we have our own version of PBS called Knowledge Network, showing a lot of Brit goodies
It'll take one of those, I meant to say, Do!
no, do...don't put an r infront of it, use an r instead of an h. the he5/22
it'll take one to those? i don't understand that statement... please forgive my tired old brain
er...the last he 5/22
Hi Mineryork! How's the new house?
i did... i replaced the H with an R
clue please for ce5/12? - first one? ty
clue for de 5/22 (the first one)
and it wouldn't take it? it's a silly word: english plural of a latin word that means king
ce + New ***eans
please (sorry ,left that out!)
rexes, rexer
ce5/12 is c+ anagram of what an actor plays on stage
ty jellen
great clue, jellen!
d + former spouses, kierlex
good clues do
the first one, do :)
Hello jillibus. The house is great, but it's a lot of work
Thanks, jilli. Stole it from Doc Ezra.

yeah, that's it, do.
heart, tinker, think heart
the main artery out of the heart, tink
houses tend to be more work than apartments, min - lol
ty . . . should have remembered that from yesterday. ;>)
clue for the first de5/22 anyone? pretty pleez
just clued, do. didiots, remember?
same thing, do :) d+former spouses
AD, the next two sound like cutesy name(s) for dachsunds with diff vowel

Hello Tinkerbell1!How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
Song now stuck in head, jes
i love come on eileen

it is a good some - watching the beg a thon and rockabilly
ok help please...ihave three he spell words - 5, 6 and 5...is that all?
add a couple vowels to the end of the caster of spells for the he7
and pluralize the 7 for the he 8

advice for the love lo**, Do
can u believe that i tried every combo but that one??? tx jel
if you're abandoned, you're forlo**, do
ty, i kep trying to spellit as a nromal ending, with vowel reversed...
yw
it's a german word, the he7
what does it mean?
someone earlier said it means the lowliest of peasants. can't remember who though
Does anyone have a clue for the he 6/21 word please
witchcraft
Oops,I meant to ask for the ce 6/21,not the he 6/21
are the first 2 ou words compound words?
yes, Do
ce + what the sun does in the morning
legalese min
ou 6/21 is opposite of in plus past tense of consume.
ce6 = red color; French for cherries
where's shorty? buddy holly's singing peggy sue
ce 6/21 is the same 3 starting letters as the ce 5 before it, but then a different ending. french sounding.
ou 6/21 is opposite of in + present tense of consume.
and the second is the present tense
got it tx. and didn't we have mis*** before?... to consume incorrectly
yep. that was on a couple of previous grids, do
some pretty dumb words
Thank you for my ce6/21 clue.Finished ce words now
Does anyone else watch 'comfort' TV shows like Murder, She Wrote?
I just noticed that my icon looks like some stockings.
hey has nut been here tonight?
she was in earlier, then left again, owl

Jellen, I catch old Andy of Mayberry now & then...
a portion of the brain, min
minver... think brain cerebral co****
co6 = cerebral co*****
and then plural brain for the co 8
and plural it for the co8
MSW reminds me of my mom. She always watched.

good story wee - more more - the critters here want more
is that your eyeball wee?
oh, i didn't mean that you needed to tell more if you don't want to. just that it can't be ALL your secrets. you know, like that time you hit the neighbor kid and then denied it or something...
Weegee said let out a se 6/21 word from the puzzle!!
Story ongoing, likely months and months before happy ending. Meanwhile, not my eyeball.
Does anyone have a clue for the he 6/21 word please
But once I did let the air out of the tires of someone who kept parking in my spot, and put a note under windshield wipers that I found on the ground... from some girl cussing out her cheating boyfriend. That's the worst I've done.
he 6/21 is legalese for up until now
he4/5 + preposition
good job wee! love the cheating note
minver -- glad you got to see some of the odd things that go on here -- and elsewhere!
that's hilarious!
Gets better... the rotter asked neighbors if they'd seen the person who SLASHED his tires and keyed his car... tires just needed air but car had already been keyed - he was planning on scamming his insurance co!
