Yeah tree fell on the house and we didn't even know - Luckily the only damage is that it took out the clothes line on the balcony and is bending a gutter a little

the tree was probably about 50 years old. We didn't know probably because the winds and other branches + lightening added enough noise. It also may have slowly fallen - don't know.

yeah - mrp was worried alot - and when I started to chop the branches she got really upset - as she was right in thinking the whole thing might continue to slide down the hill. You see we live on a cliff pretty much
scary!
all she needs now is for you to slip, fall, and whack off a finger
the snowy gums are white trunked and sometimes bleed - but realy smooth branches and trunk. This gum has a fiber like bark at base with clean branches up top.

we have two trees that I could almost touch from leaning off the balconies - and these are monsters - the diameter is close to 2 meters.

Beautiful hottish day today been out and about all morning, glad to be sitting down. Woohoo sprite.
stupid medication is even interfering with my babbling... or I am getting blinder by the day, lol
sounds great, FMitch. It is hot here too, not sunny but overcast and pretty humid.
I think sometimes if you babble everyday the eye gets used to looking for non or babble words andsooo misses the standard ones.

One of my kids plays the fiddle -- really enjoys it. Is considering switching to viola because there are fewer of them and he would be more in demand in the local youth orchestra (which he hasn't joined yet anyway)
I grew up in a very musical family. My father played woodwinds, my mom cello and piano and both my brothers played piano as well
that is such a gift! I play many things very poorly, my main instrument is my voice. But at least we have lots of instruments in the house and the kids aren't afraid to try anything! the older child plays the piano and trumpet, the one who fiddles also plays trombone. :-) My husband is a great audience, and makes sure we get to concerts and such.
Music is so important! My son has not decided what he wants to play yet but he has been exposed to musical theater and classical music.
yep. I think the exposure is as important as anything. That way they can enjoy many things when they are older. I feel so sorry for the kids who hear only country or rock all their lives.

my talisman roses are by my front walk - as is my pineapple tree - no pinapples yet
I think everyone should have something pretty by the front door. Even if the rest of the yard is untended, I try to keep the beds in front flowering.

I don't actually know the difference, ren -- they're lovely, but no scent. They are HUGE though -- about 6 or 7 inches across!

oh! okay, I have some pretty nearly white tea roses my mother in law gave me elsewhere in the yard. The first year the plant was in, the deer ate it down to the nubs -- so it's still rather small...

yes, they are only slightly pink, and just lovely. No idea what name they own, it was a plant from a sale at a nursery that had lost its tag.

and next to that plant is a rose that has tiny bouquets -- nosegays -- of bright pink roses. It is one of my all-time favorites. Just pick a bunch and pop it in a vase, no arranging needed!
yes, and the very first show had juliette prowse. I had forgotten what a beautiful dancer she was.
i have baby's breath and purple and shrimp iris's with my roses - and i love juliet prowse - she was the hostess for the ballroom dancing specials until she passed
yes, and unlike the current commentators, she knew when to shut up so you could enjoy the dancers! she also knew what it was really like and explained it all very well - -what to look for, how hard the different things were.

it sounds like your garden is the sort I have always wanted, ren. We are in the process of digging up and replanting one rather large bed. the weeds took it over the last couple years and it just looks awful.
