It was good enough for Shakespeare...
say bye, bye tragic ;)
wow
thanks
lol... i have a brain, i don't know why it won't apply itself to this game :)
this thing doesn't need brains; it needs a knack for finding words
lol
well, you have to know the words too though
off to bed, goodnight all
Yes, but they often manage to hide themselves
be back sometime tomorrow
ran out of steam with 54 to go -- see you tomorrow :)

hello sprite -- happy K day (I only have one)
interesting jilli... enjoy... hmmm...
:)
i'm back, went icon shopping
meat loaf and mashed for me, melon :)
go the or8 - funny word
you want pie with that?
apple pie, of course, melon
happy K day? Does something like that exist, she wondered... Looking up jilli's lovely picture and seeing that wonderful face, the sprite decided that this wise lady would know... happiness and Ks don't have to be mutually excluding.
LOL sprite!
ah, jilli, a face to match to the name, the stories, the great & warm personality!
in her profile, melon! There is one in her photo thingy. Saw it yesterday and it warmed my heart :)
hey, this is delicious but embarrassing!
yes, sprite, i had just looked.
grin... I bet. But well deserved!
enjoy jilli its all true
what is K day? 100th birthday? 100th anything?
nah... a day with a K in the grid.
I would swear it was a rekerring event.
several months ago there was a cranky new babble-tester who got quite insulting and objected to stid's story-telling and other chat, demanding clues. I told her she was being rude. She urged us to see her blog and and I did, to find she called me an "80-year-old hag", and at that point I was only 79! Not fair!
good eve again all - sorry snuck out for food
hi kiwi
gonna have a nice weekend - one kidless and hubbyless for the weekend - they are off playing soldiers lol
i had a nice cold glass of ke5 roday :)
jilli, i may not be here long, and don't have an official profile, but i'll get her if you want me to :) i'm quite loyal
LOLLLLLLLL... the poor thing, what a lack of insight, grin. Well jilli, if you are that, I wanna be an 80-yo hag when I grow up too!
comments like that go out the window and disappear... compliments linger Jilli
kiaora kiwi
kiaora lore

lore, I KNEW that dagger word -- just didn't see it -- thx
yw jilli
I know katana... is not here :(
usually takes me a little longer now to finish a puzzle...i normally play in a poker tourney when i play babble, because they are both good distractions from each other, so i don't get the puzzles done as fast as i used to
no not there sprite lol
5 more to go
words??
go sprite!
K words
I cannot babble until I have greyed out that darn K.
heh...gotcha

k's are grey now for the rest
ready, mrP!
for you that is, lol
not with the grid, nor even with the darn Ks.
Job description reads: Long term team player needed for challenging permanent position, in an often chaotic environment...
LOLLLLLLLLLLL!
sounds like a housewife
translation in tiny script: RUnnnnnnn for cover!
sounds like our library on kids' story day
Candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and be willing to work all shift, including weekends and evenings. You will be on call
is this an ad that Falcons owner Arthur Blank took out to find a quarterback?
sounds like a recipe for burnout
Some overnight travel required and extensive courier duties also required
and the pay is...???
sounds like what I am doing already at home
oh jilli, is is the best bit, you pay THEM
food, housing and the undying love of your family?
!!!!!
AND, there is no possibility for advancement or promotion.
LOLLLLLLL.... ok, mrP, tell!
The good thing is, there is no previous experience required
omg, it IS a mother
OK, motherhood?
and... there are no health or dental insurance... no holiday pay and no stock options
still sounds like an ad for the quarterback position for the falcons, at least to me
well, correct: you must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, or until someone needs $5
You must also have the physical stamina of a packmule and be able to go from zero to 60mph in three seconds flat incase the screams from the backyard are not a wolf cry
sorry had to say good bye to the men - they gone off to play soldiers for the weekend
go on, mrp...
you must be willing to bite yor tongue repeatedly, face stimulating technical challenges, ie sluggish toilets and stuck zippers...
sigh... this was a broadcast of This Is Your Life
screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects... must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings of all ages and mental outlooks
Must be indispensable one minute, an embarrassment the next....
phantom: tawnier
sigh... sprite, working for a bunch of assholes who are not family looks easier than this job!! but we do it and we pay them bonuses and at the age of 18 the residual payment is due, in the hope that a college education will help them
lol, so true
and if we do a good job, we get free hugs and kisses for life...
I think I will work this out onto a huge piece of paper
and hang it somewhere very visible in the house :D
I will email the job application to you :)
well, the best reward for this hectic job is seeing a grownup that can handle life and is loving and caring... and know you are the mum.
phantom: ultracrepidate
oh please do, mrP!
after reading that I'm even more tired so I think I'll go to bed
oh yes, that was the first one I saw, BabbleRabble :D Hi there!
*hugs jilli* Sweet dreams to you, beautiful lady!
hello

rmc, you can support my broken arm and kiwi can hold my iv arm out of the water..., we need someone to pour the drink down my throat?
that would be me, mrP
Ooooh Matron!

are the Ks weird? or am i just not seeing 4 of them?
last I need, wi6, lol. It is NOT window.
ah, the doggie
found it sprite!
lol, we probably found it the same second!
i actually need less sleep as i get older, have thalassaemia makes one very tired
as far as Ks go, these are not particularly weird
sprite dont try friend ihave tried it umpteen times
I am getting a tremendous lickety fireworks
andree, my husband and daughter both have the trait.
i thought i saw you finish earlier sprite
good news is you can't catch malaria!
yay sprite!!!
lol diem. I even tried DNA... how stupid can one get
diem i tried it also. :-)
nope Andree, wasn't me. Or you must have seen me finish my Ks.
yes worked well when we lived in asia for 8 years fran, i had no worries, lol
Fran: ke x 5, ki x 4
well i should know
the university is doing a study of it here because it's more common in Asians.
thanks sprite! that helps.
fran, my son[bambam ] and his son also have it
I know! LOL. Ks are just dreadful.
I am sorry for all those sickies :(
my daughter, my husband and myself all had blood drawn to go into the study.
there are a lot worse things so we never take any notice just all need extra rest
yes sprite, it's not sooo bad, very mild anemia is probably closest thing to it.
I thought part of it was terrible fevers.
when she found out i was of micronesian descent, our doctor was upset that i didn't get tested before we got pregnant.
that's for malaria, but the thallasemia keeps you from getting malaria.
looks like a great babble word, but what does thallesemia mean?
my son lucked out and doesn't have it, daughter got the 25% draw!
let me find a website sprite.
yes fran could have been a disaster as if you both have it, baby can get the thallasaemia A major.. unthinkable
http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/u vahealth/peds_hematology/thalapth.cfm
sorry for the long url sprite
jeez, I feel really dumb now. Gonna check google.
other counties call it sickle cell anaemia, common amongst african americans
oh thanks Fran!
owwwww sickle cell anemia, I have heard of THAT
looks like a good explanation on that site.
and greeks , italians etc, my mother was greek which is where i got it
yep, scary if both parents pass on the trait, baby is unable to produce its own red blood cells.
when my son was married [ to a croatian] i insisteed on the blood tests
my oldest niece has the sickle cell trait, not full-blown anemia though.
Seriously, we have learned that in biology lessons at school! Only never heard of that th name.
her father was african-american.
sprite, i think it's slightly different from sickle-cell, but in the same family of disorders. at least that was what our doctor told us.
i only heard of it when i met my husband.
thank you :) Another thing learned from babble and my fellow babblers. I hope they will be fine, your family?
our type fran is thallasaemia B minor, does not have any effect on our lifespan or health other than the extra rest we need
andree, i'm going to have to interview all my daughter's suitors. :-)
the red cells have a sickle shape
okay, my husband and daughter have alpha thallasaemia. slightly different.
don't joke, do it fran
with them the red cells are just smaller, they have the right amount though.
oh, i'm going to andree, but she's just turned 2. :-)
oh, ok!
there are greek families in australia who have lost 3 children out of 4
that's horrible...i heard there are treatments they can do in utero now.
i know fran, i only really got worried when Tony was getting married to someone who could have carried the trait
well, when both parents have the trait, those are the odds.
thats why its important when your daughter and my grandson marry that the other is tested
andree, you're the first person I've known that actually knew what thallasaemia was.
definitely going to do that. she's going to learn the risks also...how's that for birth control!
very few people do fran, i hardly ever even mention it, it only started with diem living off 3 hours sleep, i so need my rest
I am off, hugs to all and happy babbling
hugs sprite! have a good day
you too :)
nothing would have stopped my son marrying the woman he loved [and still adores after 14 years] but they would have had the good sense to consider adoption or other means of a family if she had it too
night sprint
bye sprite
you started this diem
i mean have a great day
that would have been the smart thing, it's good you insisted on the tests. now they can rest easy(ier)
my grandaughter [3] is here for the night so i am babbling while she watches barney!!!!
was interesting, better than trolls
3-year olds just love Barney!
they sure do and wiggles etc
glad we are better than trolls, lol
lol
sorry did not mean it that way just glad to get some intelegent info never heard of that before tks
my mother did not believe the thallasaemia story and took major doses of iron all her life because she was told she was anaemic, as it is not a lack of iron it destroyed her liver
no offense taken diem. :-)
she died many years before her due date
oh no andree, that's too bad, i'm glad medicine has advanced a lot.
no offense diem, funny
someone stop me, i almost tried friend again!
there is an age group you cannot reach fran, i cannot tell you how many times i went over the same thing with my mother, i was diagnosed at 18 when i was nursing, took 6 months to diagnos because i am blonde, last thing that was thought of
you're lucky your doctors kept looking. parents have a hard time listening to their kids it seems.
was vthallasaemia but nothing could or ever would convince my mother, she was horrified when i went off my iron tablets
sadly, it was probably because it was what the doctors told her to do.
good morning all.Its a smaller grid today
i have had no problems except when pregnant, i had blood transfusions
Fran its still not there honest
hi greenbay! no monster today. :-)
thatt for sure
i can see how that would require transfusions, pregnancy takes a toll on the body and your blood had to nourish the baby too.
diem, maybe after the 4th time i try it i will believe. :-)
it dont work in Canada
ke5/24 please, 1st one
andree, i have ke + type of evergreen tree, douglas ***
ke+ a tree
okay, baby won't go to sleep without me, i have to go
thx diem and fran
see you all later! have fun with the granddaughter andree!
k's finished at last
bye fran
she just bumped her head on coffee table, packet of smaties fixed that
smarties too
i am now making you have to go to bed noises
she has been given to the end of barney which i hope is soon
got to catch some zzzzz,s busy day ahead good luck all bye
bye diem

si8 loud noise + man's name
Hi Scrabs, see you survived yesterday's grid
one who sets the blaze or terminates the employment GBL
hi Scfrabbler
I stopped at 330/188, Peri. If it was a weekend day I could have finished.
Chris, found the loud noise now to find the right man's name, thanks
just popped in....I have one 8...or8/40....another word for inglenook, drop the first letter and make it more so

scrabbler, have you ever heard of anyone getting osteomyelitis in their skull bones (upper jaw)?
TY, karys
Yes, Ata, it can start from an aggressive sinus infection.
sounds nasty
my sister has it now *sigh* result of tooth problems and jaw infections. and the dr is pretty stuck about what to do cos she's already on 4 types of antibios everyday
Even in the frontal bone--Pott's puffy tumor---pushes out the of the forehead.
oh dear, Ata, that does not sound good
She should be on IV antibiotics. And she may need the bone debrided--just like MRP.
IS she a diabetic? Or does she have immune system problems?
bye all. bbl
Bye, Charm--good to see you.
bone's already been debrided I think, at least partially around the area where they removed the teeth, she's got crohn's with horrific amounts of complications. and iv antibios - yeah, she's beck on that as from today. just for a change
give her all the babble sympathy we can muster
GOOD thoughts to her and u ata {{{HUGS}}}
Oh, dear, Ata--she has been through so much already. IV antibiotics are needed for osteomyelitis, usually for 8 wks or so.
the dr she saw the other day said it was the worst case of osteomyelitis he'd ever seen. great. she doesn't do things by halves!
aeon
Is she in much pain? Can she eat or drink?
to the penalty box scrabs!
Hey, how did that word wind up there? I am using Babble Expert and Lickety Add.
oh joy, so another hospital stay *sigh* she'll loooooove that! (they have to give her a central line to get IV stuff in). ok, I'll start clearing some weekends to get up there and see her
that was like me yesterday scrabs..and a WHOLE list of words came up
Yes, a central line or a PICC (spaghetti line)
well she already takes 350mg (?) of oral morphine as a daily thing, and she's in pain. and she can just about eat. just. she has 3 teeth left!
Yikes, Carlee.
bbl, goiing for a walk
she has a picc line in anyway, but they won't use it *screeches*
POOR thing! How old is she? Crohn's disease sucks--chronic and unrelenting.
*going* even
Enjoy, Peri
33. she has a urostomy, has had a double mastectomy (2 years ago and the wounds are still unhealed). has gangrene in her toes. has had most of her lower jaw rebuilt from ribs, then titanium when the ib bones were rejected. needs blood every month. and now this! i hate HATE crohns
that's terrible!
good god ata... sending prayers....
:( :( Such suffering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND she still smiles
she's amazing
I am always so sad when a kid in our pediatric practice is diagnosed with diabetes or Crohn's disease---the future is not good for these kids and families.
I'm always just so glad that most people with Crohn's won't suffer like she does. She never does things by halves, especially medically
What buoys her? God?
honestly, her cats. she lives for her cats. she doesnt believe in god at all. her family and friends.
I am always fascinated by the way people deal with suffering. SOme people have such amazing resilience, and others use drugs/alcohol, etc
i believe in God, but if i were in her place, the thing holding me to life would be my cats too. they need me alive, God will survive whether i'm dead or alive.
I am like that with my bunnies---if I am gone who will care for them the way I do?
I really don't know how she manages. I know how much she suffers every day. and I get SO cross when people denigrate the effect pets can have on people.
My downstairs shadow, Bunny Callie, is sprawled outon the floor behind me now.
and she has quite damaged rescue cats. they need her unique empathy. she needs their love
same with me and hobbit, hurshy. and sily. they need me.
It is relationships that sustain us.
and I think maybe she relies so much on the cats because most people truly can't understand her life
we could learn a lot about how to love people from pets!
too right!
how is Callie? do you look at cuteoverload, scrabs? there was an adorable rabbit vid there yesterday
Yes...almost unconditionally (as long as they get food, water, and love from us). But they don't care about our hair or clothes or "beauty".
and they don't ask questions
marty is even more like that than most... given the choice between food and me, he'll generally pick me
Callie is doing fine--dribbling pee occasionally, but happy, active, and eating a lot. I will check the site now Ata.
Hobbit will grab the food then come and cuddle LOL
*hugs* for ata and her sister, and i must go to work. ttfn
Very cute, Ata--TY for telling me. A local vet is retiring after almost 40 yrs of service and an article is in the local paper. He mentions highlights, etc. He said, "Imagine getting paid to see kittens and puppies everyday."
have a good day dear!
Bye, hurshy. Enjoy the day.
wouldn't that be wonderful? I wanted to be a vet but got sidetracked into marine biology instead
I am a vet--I take care of vicious toddlers that fight, kick, scream and bite.
but you can't shake and yell at your variety of brats!
No, but we have to restrain them.
really? some ae that bad?
You know, this grid is TOUGH!
Oh, yes, to draw blood, get urine samples, start IV's, etc.
urf ....
Bad memory from residency: taping babies/toddlers to the exam table in order to start an IV.
Morning
If the nurses were to busy to help we were on our own. We also use "Papoose" boards---to strap kids in...Velcro straps from head-to-toe.
Hi Doren--you are hear while I confess to child abuse
wow i suppose you cant really reason with them though can you
hi dorens
Absolutley not, Ata. And many older kids freak out too, and boy, are they strong!
scrabbler are you a pediatrician or a vet?
My oldest son (the md) had to be taped down for an iv when he was 4 months, scrab. they couldn't do it, kept trying, ended up in his scalp . it was terrible (and his father was a neuro resident at that hospital at the time)
hmm the ke words like like interesting ones lol
Both, EJ..taking care of babies and toddlers is no different than being a vet. They are animals that cannot speak or cooperate.
brb
Scalp IV's are easy to start in babies, but parents freak as they think the IV is in the brain. It is just a surface vein we use.
you practice both or just comparing one to the other? sorry, I came in the middle of this and no coffee yet
I have 2 ke words
3 now, GBL
I am comparing pediatrics (my field) to veterinary medicine. I have nice conversations with my vets too---we have similar experiences.
ok
Animals include many species, including Homo sapiens.
I should get going--I have a shrink appt this AM--my chance to vent and solve problems.
everyone needs one! and ty for listeniing to mine angst!
happy...or rather..healthy venting scrabs
Your poor sister has had too large a portion of suffering! ((Ata's sister))
she has *sighs*
I always feel better when I leave---validation + support are needed.
definitely
Bye pals. I will kayak after lunch, as long as the weather cooperates, which it is supposed to.
bye! have a good day!
I found 44 word, with difficulty. The remaining 78 will be my challenge tonight.
its a horrid grid!
Now 75--3 related words from ru

that would have been interesting, don't recall seeing it though
kelly martin played her... ( she went on to be on ER for a while )
watched ER at times, but not here

I agree on the 500 ... I gave up with 65 to go...lost interest totally
I stuck it out... figured once you're past 400, what's another 100 or so?
me too
I finished it but felt guilty neglecting all else
clue for the no 4/8
I also found..after that last 500... I didn't want to do a grid for a week or 2
I always feel guilty about neglecting all else, flosey
not no* am not ready to go yet + a cross
greenbay, uses that big tile
no 4.8----here and no* plus cons.

Morning, all!
Hi Judi!
monday...wont be much of a change, since its the job i already have, just taken over by a new company...heh but as of monday morning, ill be employed by SRA
Good morning and what a relief to only see 122 words
morning Judi
Hi Judi
Interesting, Eva. My brother works for LM in Syracuse, NY.
Mom -- dont breathe that sigh of relief just yet...heh
Hi Mom
hold on to your hat Mom it's a nasty grid
Hi EvaNadine, Annie and Nono
good morning Mom
Not a pleasant grid, eh?
Good morning Greenbay
judi -- i was with LM for almost 7 years... but we lost our contract + LM did next to *nothing* to find LM jobs for us, so really, most of us are just as pleased to be working for a different company now...
Shame. But, it's nice that you can just transition right in with the new company. Good of them not to clean house which is all too common these days.
well, theres no saying that they wont in the near future, once they have an idea about everything...but hopefully they wont
Not really sure what my brother does. Something to do with electrical panels for military radar arrays.
best of luck eva...
thanks all. things are finally settling down for me, after a long + stressful summer... just a few more things to get worked out, and then i can put my feet up and relax. :)
by the way, the list is helping enormously (so far)
good morning all! I'm "cleaning" off my desk: I put all of the papers on the floor and am sorting them; not on the 'puter at all... ;) (anyway, that's what I'm telling my hubby! :D
Good morning Nef

Your secret is safe with us, Nef.

I feel really silly--anyone have an4?
how nice for you Dorens, too early yet here
lilcorice flavor kero
pardon ai4?
i haven't seen it since the weekend ( or at least that's what i think)
Ker, helper
Haven't you seen the sun for a while, Dorens?
ty
Isn't "freon" a gas? Am I spelling it wrong?
ker, or assistant
did anyone find the an7?
I think you are spelling it right Judi
guess it must be a brand name, judi, but i didn't know that
looks like the word for a bulging blood vessel
See Jen34's clue at 8:27, Carlee.
Jen clued it at 8:27, carlee
hi carlee, it was clued 8:27
Jen, gave a clue for it just a bit ago. an 7: an + **gene Levy (actor) + be sure to ***se off the dishes before you put them in the sink
thanks jen34and flosey
and judi and annie and mom
you're welcome Carlee
I can't get the first ae word
Carlee, what did you end up having for supper last night?
woohooo all the way up to 50 words!
yay, Nono
ae 6 = ae + to eat
meatballs cooked in BBQ sauce... on fresh buns with grated cheddar..and salads
Judi, I can't see where you are connecting the letters for freon; maybe that's the problem? (or it's too early in the AM for me to see, maybe!)
it's been a LONG TIME since we had that one, flosey
sounds yummy Carlee
yummmmmm carlee that sounds good
uh oh, carlee, as usual you're making me hungry
ok... so....babble bakers..I need MOST decadent chocolate dessert that also pretty
oh, sorry flosey, i was "cluing" the wrong word there... please ignore
the last di 5/20 please
what's the occasion carlee
thank you Kerowyn
NM, Judi, I finally saw what you did! :D
They connect, Nef. Diagonally downward towards the right-hand side of the grid.
di + pale
I believe freon starts with a capital F
just company...she a chocoholic
but why, annie?
eide
uh, magz -- penalty box stocked?
thanks dorens
I have a square that's decadent carlee but nothing particularly pretty about it - shortbread layer, caramel layer, then spread with melted choc
Must be a proper name, although I thought it was an element. What do I know? Never took chem.
{{Magze}}, keep at it, and we will be finished in no time. :)
dorens, I think it is a brand name
lol my favorite is to make a regualr chocolate cake and between the layers put peanut butter
gosh Carlee a local store here sells a wonderful choc. cake but they wont give out the recipe :(
then topit with chocolate icing
must be a brand name, but I never knew that
carleet, I have a recipe (or, rather, my hubby does!) for the world's most decadent chocolate cookies!
carlee, flourless chocolate cake... dense, moist, delicious
I love anything chocolate/pb combination
no..am thinking in terms of cheesecake, or choc mousse cake... or...something in that line
clue for the re 5/12
I saw in the store yesterday, in honor of Elvis' passing, Reese's peanut butter cups with bananas
That sounds perfectly disgusting, Mom.
I couldn't bring myself to buy it to try.
I love peanut butter, I put peanut butter in the bottom of a pretty glass, into the the microwave for about a minute, then swirl the pb around the glass and ice cream on top, yummmmy
That was my thought Judi
chocolate cream pie can be easy. make (or buy) a graham cracker crust an fill with yuor favorite chocolate pudding and top with whipped toppping and fruit
love anything with whip cream
can also put chocolate chips or crumbled oreos on top instead of fruit
annie -- how easy, and scrumptious!
yes, evan, it is and delish
Straight shots from the pressurized whip creme can are the best.
its not.... decadent enough for her....
never use that, always fresh whipped
she is... the chocoholic to the nth degree
Carleet, these are "Paula Dean's triple chocolate cookies, and you can find them over at www.foodnetwork.com (except the site is down right now)
Fresh is best, but not as fun as the can.
35 down and 87 to go. Having lunch with a friend, gotta find a way to keep makeup on in 102 degrees.
Nothing is more decadent than chocolate truffle pie.
mom, one word -- spackle. heh
recipe vic?
how about rich choc. cake, sitting in a puddle of raspberry puree, and topped with choc sauce
ok..re's to go and am done...
lol Eva
need to eat breakfast, can't kep looking at thsi chat. see you later
bye bye Dorens.
( hubby hates raspberry..otherwise.works for me flosey...( and I am allergic to strawberries )
I am off too. Bye everyone and good luck
Will you guys SHUT UP about the chocolate desserts?! I'm trying to fight off the donut box here at work as it is! :))
enjoy, dorens
later, Mom
white chocolate is my favorite. :)
sorry judi...
sorry Jude,
Hang on, I'll post it in my profile.
this time of day, nothing appeals to me but COFFEE
*claps hands over eyes* la la la la la la la
bye Annie
my old college roommie made me a cake for my bday that, between the cake itself and the icing, had 1 pound of white chocolate in it. :)
how do u search for words judi with ur eyes covered?
OMG, Eva. Major binge food there.

ooh..yummy fruittart

it's not a detailed recipe. i have a recipe on my site for a shortbread crust that i generally use. the caramel sauce was made with about half a package of caramels heated with a few tablespoons of evaporated milk
got it! Again, thanks! :D
yea..I have a few things here I could wing it with...nice idea... thanks
( we have akiller store m ade hot caramel sauce that great for shortcuts..and as is goign ot be a bit of a stinker hot day today..least ammount of time in kitchen will be best )
Carlee how about a chocolate fondue with fresh fruit
hi of 81 but with humidity over 100...
you can make a quick ganache by melting a bag of ghirardelli dark chips with a little whipping cream. then your only oven time is the crust . . . unless you want to buy one of those ;)
and no..fondue just.would not cut it I don't think
chocolate fondue with rum
Okay, I've posted the recipe for chocolate truffle pie. Although it occurs to me that you can't make it last minute because it needs time to chill... Anyway, check it out in my profile.
actually... fruit tart...I made ata's banafee pie a couple weeks ago..and that used digestive cookies for crumb crust... and I REALLY liked both texture and taste ( instead of graham cracker ) not as sweet....
( she coming sun..I work sat..so oodles of chill time vic thanks)
ooh...is chocolate pate....yummmm... thanks vic

HI! *waves*
Hi, Jade!
Hiya Jellen!
hi jade!
i'm surfing/reading blogs in another window.
Fireworks!
yay!!!
i was just going to ask if i missed your fireworks. :-)
my last word was a plural i missed. *bonk*
YAY Jellen!
hi jade...
Hey ive got to go
see you later girly.
Bye, GG
How 'bout the ta6/21 and to6/18 pls
hey jellen and stid, if you haven't been to last.fm in the last day, babs has posted a game in the discussion board. so far she and i are the only ones playing. :-(
ta6/21 is my clue icon pbr.
I'll go check it out. brb
to6/18 means more stylish, looks like more of mr. curtis or main character from sopranos.
franmag -- working on the clues
let me know if you need more pbr. :-)
figured out the to6, now onto the ta6 -- only 10 more to go
OK, dinner is done. Help with fi7 please?
scrabs, more flamy
it's a strange spelling to me
Huh, Fran? I don't get it.
try this, fi + make a mistake (to *** is human) then add two vowels before the last R.
pbr, for ta6, try, ta + short hello + the moon comes out at **ght
May I please have a clue for the Or 6,21 ?
FranMag -- got it - phew 8 more
kristine, or + e4/5 word
woo hoo, go pbr!
ty Fran
yw kristine
Does the Or 8 build off of the 6 ?
no kristine, or8 means more obstinate or troublesome, variation of the on7/28.
okay, I have a few icons for mrpresident -- want to take a look and see if they're okay? Or should I go with "mrp" instead?
thanks for that one fran
well that would be great if i had that 7 lol
i think mrp would have more impact.
the colors look awesome though.
woop got the 8
kristine, number word on* + french for to cry..
cool kristine, now drop the first R and you'll have the on7.
I thought so too. Thanks fran. I'll do up a couple in mrp
not magenta and pink. hard to read
thank ya thank ya
i like the upper left one colorwise.
hi artlady!
you're right artlady, that one could cause convulsions i think. :-)
I agree, Fran. That's the clearest visually.
Congratulations Jellen on fireworks! Hooray for you!
stid...how do you get your photos to show in your profile? Mine don't.
artlady, make sure you put your flickr name in your account on babble.
wb min
Thank you FranMag! I had to give my fingers a break
okay, done with new versions
hi artlady!
HI everyone
I don't know... I have a flickr account and upload them and they just sort of show up...
hey peri!
yes, the yellow/red combo is still the best.
when do you start your new job?
Hi artlady! How are hyou doing? Welcome to the grid!
hi peri!
Hi periwinkle! How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
3 more hu7/36, on7/28 and or8/40
pbr, hu7, one who is rushing
stid, are you talking to me
I started with the yellow/red -- then just switched colors around... I think the yellow/red is more like mrp than tothers... (but I like to give choices).
if so after Labor Day
Gack. Thanks Fran. Browser had a hissy when I went to my account. Let's see....
hu 7/36 is hu + double consonant+superlative ending.
yes peri, I was talking to you. sorry, a little tired this afternoon
on7 and or8 mean the same thing, more obstinate or troublesome, sort of an old-fashioned word.
on 7/28 is on + Emergency Room + superlative ending
just the o's -- I might make it tonight!
it knows you have an account now artlady, now you have to make your photos public and "safe"
or+single hump+Emergency Room+superlative ending.
just stopped by to say hi, think I will make poached chicken. never made it before, see you later or tomorrow after the beach.
later peri :-)
They are public...safe?
later peri!
bye, peri!
DONE!!!!!!!!!!!11 DOING THE FIREWORKS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN WEEKS. Truth of the matter is, I haven't had much internet access--soon that changes when I move into my new place. For the first time I will have high speed instead of dial up
YAY pbr!!!!
Oh, and thanks for the welcome, Minver!
Goodbye perwinkle! I will see you tomorrow in the log
Yaayyyy! congrats, pbr!
safe meaning content is not questionable, it's one of the options when you upload them.
hey hey pbrf!!! congrats!
yay pbr!!!!
Congratulations pbr on your fireworks!Good for you!
Hmm...they sure aren't questionable!...let's see..
No luck. Some nice photos of lemon trees in Sorrento, Yellowstone Lake....sigh.
hi everyone
hey andree!
Hello Andree! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
artlady -- are you the pics are set to "public" viewing?
hi andree!
or8/40 anyone?
Hi again.
That's what it says under each.
try going to the "organize" option in your flickr account.
hi jellen!
hm. I don't know then...
mom, or8, more obstinate or troublesome, kind of old fashioned word, think of an old prospector's mule.
Can someone please beat me with the Oh ?
or plus NorthEast plus hook letter+superlative ending
nm got it lol
My music knowledge isn't very broad or deep, but I'm playing.
cool jellen!
tks, fran--kept throwing an i in an inappropo spot!
lol, if you need on7, it's the same word without the first R mom.
These last 11 are killing me, Can I please have help with the Ne ? sorry for the begging !
Stid, no luck there either. grumble! I guess I'll just have to work on the grid instead!
The ne 6/18 word is ne plus a re4/4 word KristineNas
LOL well if you must! I am almost to halfway, then calling it quits for tonight.
jellen, good song association. :-)
the 8 was my last o, fran. tks!
ne + re4/4

Hello Lana
Let me try again!
Good morning Lynxxx :)

Tag, Kunstfrau! Ist meine Drache nicht nett?
hi lana and lynxxx
Wooohoooo, Mutti!! You went pro!!
You're hooked!
and fireworks
Great dragon, tool.
too, that is.
Congratulations Andree
Lana - under Friends of Babble at the bottom, there is a link to Licketys Babble Clues
I had to have a dragon icon. . .
moms need to help moms -- need clues mom?
congrats, Andee!!
Congrats Andree!
aber natuerlich!
I would, yes, Mom, thank you. I do not have any of the 8's
my mom's here too!
Yahoo Andree! I was watching baseball and missed your good news post!
Artlady, I forgot who your mom is.
Her mom is a dragon 8-)
((mom)) ((artlady)) ((etc))
Erilar
'nut!!
{{Nutty}} hello
Hi Nut
hows my goyls?
hi nut
that's right, I can't keep them straight
fair to middlin' Nutty and you?
Thx!
Erilar, some water in the family room, soggy boxes, furniture, rug. I started my morning mopping up water before I went to school. ugh.
we's damp, 'nut.
i dont care
fair to stinkin mom
I wrote and asked you about that. Yuck!
your a wh*re
twin
where's damp artlady?
Artlady, I saw on the weather channel that you all had some flooding
or8/40 - more stubborn; si8/40 - police car sound (not sure how to clue last 3 ltrs!)
so sorry Nut. :(
still have grandaughter left over from last night and gained another this morning who will wake any minute from her nap
once the bath is drawn, i'll be done stinkin
:) Nutty.
nasty set of storms in the midwest. I'm near Chicago. Lots of trees down, flooding, power outages.

Hi Dawg and Nut

At least we have power. Altho I almost killed my husband when I got home and he hadn't done ANYthing about the wet stuff downstairs...and he was home all day.
grrrrrr
Hi DR!
bye Andree - hope you got the sun like we have
i'd be using hubby as the mop!
grrrrrr is right artsy fartsy...you gotta crack the whip
oh, yeah, lb!
Mom, got the or. working on the si one now. Thanks
Oh I did. He's in deep doodie now.
g'mite andree! enjoy those grandkids!
i've found i don't like this grid much
bye Andree. Enjoy!
bye bye Andree
mom. si5 + author *** fleming
this grid is really twisty and turny.
thank you LBD
This window-juggling is a problem; I just accidentally closed THIS one!
tks for filling that in, lbd! thought of it just before your jumped in!
I'm with you Nut.. I do not like it much either
erilar,,,wrong one to close!
Hi DR
oooh and erilar went Pro! yay!
I certainly confused myself!
Hi Mom
i find my day is not complete if i haven't managed to confuse myself
do you think this is dr-g's way of getting back at us for the wedding plans?
Erilar - suggest you email Lickety and ask for Babble Expert - no more juggling and much saved time
could be, and i hear a rumor about a monster grid?
Lol, lb. I ordered a T-shirt, tho. I didn't know he finally did them!
erilar--e-mail lickety for his beta page--works great!
Babble expert?
I wanted one LAST summer to take to London when I met the London babblers...all one who showed up!
nut, yesterdays was UGLY! 518 and some real beasty words
'nut, it won't work for Erilar. She's a Mac and it's Windows-based. Sorry, mutti!
518!!! Sure glad I didn't even look!
I looked at the number of words yesterday and read a couple books instead.
bugger on missing the 518, bet it was fun
I hope lickety does a Mac version, tho.
who did you meet last summer ArtLady?
oh, too bad. daughter's one of those people, too!
Aha! That's the thing you have!
Babbler. A couple of others were going to come but forgot!
the chat was fun Nutty, lots of cheering of the little goals made
It might work for Erilar - apparently Fran has Mac and it works for her - she just doesn't get Lickety's video
i just like big ones cause i don't have to twist my brain hard to find words
Ohhh, that's hopeful then!
yes, this one is VERY twisty, 'nut.
hi peeps.
Hi Frannie
That depends. I could install Windows junk on this Mac but refuse to collect viruses.
HiFranMag
actually i don't use expert, i just use lickety's regular page. :-)
Hi Fran
And here the girl herself. Hi Fran
you'da been swingin' in the wi4/9 yesterday, nut! it was a challenge.
Erilar, I'll send you his email.
oh - sorry to mislead you all folks
hi lynxxx, mom, dr, erilar, dawg, artlady!
and nutty!
Fran, I found Expert saves me time because I never finish a grid without clues.
i'm reading my blogs in another window, keeping an eye on chat in case clues are needed. :-)
semi-lurking i guess.
Finish? I can't find even a third of today's. Of course I haven't been trying long today.
same here, artlady. it's helped my game. and so many words are monkeyed, anyway, at least with expert there's a fighting chance!
yes, but expert won't work on a Mac because it's an actual program and not just a webpage.
now that lickety's regular page has "bulk add" it's pretty easy to use.
Erilar, I sent you an email just now.
That's what I thought, Fran. Someone just said someone else uses it, tho.
I like the way you can do multipull Bulk Adds or even just one letter too
Oops, that was YOU they were talking about, Fran! Erilar, never mind!
ArtLady - that was me talking about Fran. I was wrong!
yep, i use both ways lynxxx...one big bulk add when i'm done working clueless and then update as i add stuff out of order.
I tried to use that bulk add thing when I first started experimenting and couldn't seem to do it right.
Yes, I went back thru the log, lynxxx. Oops!
persist Erilar - its easy and fast once you get the hang of it. Lickety has good instructions at the bottom of his clue list
hav'ta run kids. happy babbling, and thanks again for all the help. 'til the morrow ... sweet dreams.
bye Mom23
When the weather turns bad again and I spend a larger chunk of day here I'll try it again.
bye mom!
Bye bye Mom, thanks for the help tonight :)
bye, mom23!
erilar, congrats on going pro! i love your dragon.
I want him on my car. . .
bye mom23
Yes, Fran. She just got a new car and wants to paint the dragon on the side. Wild!
an7 clue please?
cool, go for it erilar. :-)
I found someone to do it, too. Question is whether I can get good enough quality. . .
an + pee word... drope the e
dr, a + n***ology is the study of nerves + not out
that is a much better clue fran
I have had it for tonight. I can't keep my eyes open. Thanks for the clues and the company. See everyone tomorrow. Pleasant dreams. :0
Ty Both got it
maybe they can make a decal out of the pic you already have erilar?
thanks ruru!
night mom! sleep well.
thanks Fran, you also. Night
Yes, on your brand new car....
bye Mom - sweet dreams
That's the plot. The question is how much it can be enlarged without getting blurry.
otherwise, airbrushing would be the way to go.
night Lynxx, sweet dreams to you
Oh, decals are cheaper 8-)
FRan, great idea! Mutti, just get a magnetic decal! Steve got one for his business (about 12x16). Plastic magnetic sheet--sticks on car!
i'm sure that's true erilar, more time-intensive and you have to find an artiste!
hello everyone !
hk! Hello!
I rescanned it at 300 dpi and it enlarges pretty well to about 16 inches. 24 is too much.
hi hk!! we were afraid you got flooded out.
ARe you wet, hk?
I was talking about our family room earlier.
hey art - nope, survived the weather pretty well here, but visited a friend today who lives near ashland & irving in the city & there was a 100+ year old uprooted tree on her block - took sidewalk with it too, amazingly no home was damaged badly & only 1 broken window - all by THE WIND!
hey fran!
glad you were unscathed hk, but too bad for the tree!
Hi HK
Yes, one of my colleagues in Wilmette had a huge tree go down...suspended on the powerlines. Scary!
Hi Helen. I was just going to comment on your pom, but read your update. I am so sorry
hey lbd!
tx fran!
art - i know, frightening how powerful the wind can be
aww cute pup in your icon helen
ty lynxxx
I'M supposed to be the one in tornado country!
eri - where are you?
i've been through too many typhoons with winds over 100 mph to not respect mother nature. :-)
it's been really wet down here all August, Erilar.
wow fran! i can't even imagine that, they said our winds were 60-70 mph yesterday
All the storms have gone south or north of me, but it's been dank and dark and occasionally even raining a bit this week.
it's scary hk and it's hours of wind pounding on structures.
but i think a tornado would be worse.
I live in somewhat northwestern Wisconsin in a cave8-) It's an underground house--just one side with some windows.
sounds really safe erilar. they could use those in Guam!
erilar - i have a friend that lives in minong - do you know where that is - it's very small, near hayward (?)
It's north of here. I've camped there 8-)
See you all later (thinks.. I must do some washing as nothing else will fit in the laundry cupboard)
as you can imagine, 99% of the buildings in Guam, including homes are concrete and our building codes are very strict since we also had earthquakes.
later lynxxx! you've reminded me about my laundry.
woo hoo fireworks!
yay dan!!!
brb, have to change load
didn't think i'd make it - propping eyes open
it's so pretty in that area - my hubby has cousins that own a resort & a restaurant in that area & my friend works with one of his cousins kids - small, small world
Congratulations danf63 on fireworks!Hooray for you!
An earthquake might be a problem with a house like mine, but tornados and blizzards are not.
hi babblers!
bye lynxxx
yay for dan !
hk, Minong is very pretty. All of northern Wisconsin is! I wish we were closer during the summer. All those great lakes and camping!
Hi ping!
sympathies for you helen - we have a 3-yr old pom too, Swiffer - she's an only dog
hi artlady!
Screen house here is always available. . .
yes, Mutti, but your lake is icky and smelly...although the company is great!
bye Lynxxx hi PING
4
hi dan2
hello DAWG
heya pingy!
Well, there are better ones, and _I_ have a tent and such. . .
no more stinky nut
hi hk - long time!
ty dan - poms are wonderful - so sweet
hello all -- no, I didn't go for a swim because it clouded over and got breezy :( so I did a bit of entering with Geni, my other obsession now.
***sniffs air again...* that you Nutty?
*sniff sniff* nice 'nut!
welcome, least i could do
You used soap!
hey jili & nutty
and water!
hi jill and nut
hi Jilli!
hiya pingster
Ok, 'nut. This weekend it's back to the library for #8 and on...my neighbor at school is on #8 also!
I always think of you when I read them!
perfect, then you two can hash out your favorite parts!
Not sure what I think tho...
HK -- just read your sad update -- she looks so sweet and cheery. I'm facing the fact that my beloved 18-year-old cat's days are numbered now...
Just finished #4
She's really straight, though. How can I talk about the dirty parts with her???
why not sure???
Oh, that's right. 'nut, my mom's reading them too!
just kidding, 'nut!
well, if she's read the dirty parts...
But I just found a new sleuth who's more fun!
still 4...have to focus!
is your mom reading the dirty parts? maybe you should censor it for her first?
still 84... have to really focus!
ty jili - 18 is a long, long time, that's wonderful
Mutti, you'll know the wo!!
are you talking about Janet Evanovitch?
sweating like a pig, have to stop moving
No, my colleague is straight-laced. My mother's definitely crooked!!
Yes, jijlli
sorry, jilli!
She has been known to tell me to grow up, too!
lol
I love her slightly raunchy books
Has she written any that are only slightly raunchy?
hello everyone -- what are some of the K words?
Although "Metro Girl" was pretty tame. Funny, tho.
*phew!* ceiling fan sure helps...where's mrp been?
let me know if you need help Ping
metro gir is tame
and motor mouth too
Good evening all
well, I'm sure there are raunchier books lol

yw
I got the word, the definition is what kills me...it is either a musical group (Proper Name) or a development company in Hawa'ii
Oh yeah,I forgot you finished the grid danf63. Sorry!
Not yet minver...14 left
Does anyone know Enables e-mail address? I am starting to think that they do not get nearly enough "I hate you" letters...;-)

Hi, all
Hi Pam!
Of course you have the band aids for your son, right Dan?
Hi Pam
hi min
hi pam
Hiya, all. Just found out what 'ENABLE' actually stands for. Got this just... 'The Enhanced North American Benchmark LEexicon package provides a 173,000+ word standardized tournament-level master list, more carefully researched than "official" and proprietary lists. It is not restricted to words of an arbitrary length and it features all "official" updates. The ENABLE list has been placed in the Public Domain and is both free and freely distributable. This is the list used by the WORDY word study system, above, and by various online Scrabble® servers and software developers (at least two commercial word games use it as its dictionary). It is highly recommended that the (updated) ENABLE SUPPLEMENT [785K], and the ABLE SUPPLEMENT [559K], additional lists and documentation packages for ENABLE be obtained. Freeware. '
Hello pam! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
Hi, lbd , dan, jac, ping, min, and all!
Helli Ping! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
thanks, min
So, it's Enhanced North American LExicon.
thanks lb
jacula - i shouldn't be surprised but i am
hey ping and pam and min and mistress!!!
hi jac and pam
Leave it to you, Jac! 8-) How was the wedding
I still hate them Jacula!
Hi, nonnie, ren, and all

yw
HK!!!
Hello Jacula! How are you? Thanks for the explanation
Hello helenkeller! How are you? Welcome to the puzzle
heya minver
Thank you Ping!Actually, don't really watch his movies
Going to go spend a moment with the fam. Take care all and hope to see you later.
He is somehow better than any of his movies
Wedding was great thanks, pam. We surprised the visitors to Startford-upon-Avon with an extended photoshoot of our 'stroll' through the streets from the registry office to the wedding breakfast venue.
Goodbye NonnieLight! I'll see you tomorrow in the log
Lol - any my friend was hoping for a low-key wedding.
Sounds funny!
*Stratford-upon-Avon.
hi hi. Will I have a better chance of finishing tonight?
I like your icon too Jacula. Good icon clue for today!
jacs - was there a party after the wedding?
Hi Ren.
niters nonnnie
autumn, possibly with some help
night nonnie
Dan - haven't found an e-mail addy for them. Sorry! I did try.
Hello autumn moon! How are you?Welcome to the grid
okay. Off I go..... Hi Min. I am fine. How are you today?
I'm doing well autumn moon.I'm here to clue if U need.
or8/40, plis?
Thank you Jacula...They are probably still hiding from the pirate sword/emanada fight.
Hell - well the wedding was at 11.30 (but began about 11.45am) and the 'breakfast' began about 12.45 and was still going on, though all courses finished, when we left at 4.40pm.
or 8/40 is or + Emergency Room + superlative ending
or8=more argumentative
we're wrestling a shark for the empanads
she's wrestling a shark for the empanadas, i'm wrestling the shark for fun.
be careful pirates! shark can scratch up your wooden legs!
I am or8 than usual tonight!
Nut - Cnfused by a message of yours - were you IN hospital or do you work at one?
IN hospital jac
and is that you i added to my messenger?
Oh, nut! I didn't realise. Not serious, I hope? Tell me via e-mail if you don't want to say on here.
there are sharks in the hospital? I thought they only hung around courthouses...
staying with my hubby while he gets treatments for the big c jac
Nut - Yes. You've added me and I can see you on the laptop (which has Windows XP) but not on this silly new main PC which has been inflicted with Windows 2000.
hospitals DEFINITELY have sharks, those nurses liked hubbynut too much.
Oh, nut! So, sorry. I should've realised. xxx
Nut! LOL!
You tell 'em to keep their teeth to themselves!
no you shouldn't, i don't like to clog chat with the depressing
LOL and ((())))) nut
i kept my eyes on them sharks
i think you need to train some of those sharks to be careful around you! just take a chomp out of one.
Nut - it is said that if a shark approaches you can scare it off by punching it on the nose.
i think one bit my toe
wow jacs! that's a long time for a breakfast - i've never been to a 'breakfast wedding'
Not sure it would work on a Great White but it may well work on a Nurse Shark.
i thought about it, but then i thought it best not to scare off the nurses as they bring the good drugs.
that was me ren...sorry, it looked like tuna fish to me.
you thought about biting my toe nut?
tasted like toe jam though
barracuda feet
{{{{{nutty}}}}} i didn't know
ironically ren, know what our bowling team this year is probably going to be called?
Hell - that was my first 'breakfast' wedding, too. Anyway, if any of you US folks were wandering around Stratford-Upon-Avon this morning and saw a wedding shoot going on, I was the elegant one in the posh black hat. (Only one wearing a hat!)
cudas? sharks? toes?
twinkle toes?
barracudas - - - chomp chomp chomp
twinkie toes to thrwo at the pod people
you throw twinkies and i can't be responsible for my weight
Hvae you lot finished the grid, btw?
don;t you love to smash twinkies and watch people at the table move...quickly
My typing's gone dyslexic.
sigh. i spent my evening trying to make something for my cats, and all i've wound up with is a messier house.
i have 16 and i'm not looking for more, i hate this grid...it's the devil
this grid is hard & i am thick-headed tonight
How come I can type dyslexic and not 'have'? LOL
rofl
Hursh - make what for your cats?
i love to eat twinkies...or even better the aldi's generic version of twinkies, they're ten times better.
oh, a tunnel ramp thing
plis, help me with si4/5! I just can't find it, and it's probably super easy!
I've no idea what 'twinkies' are in USa but here in UK 'twinkie' is yet another euphemism for female down-below part! LOL
The si 4/5 word is transgression + chair letter labecs
oy...ok jac, i DO NOT eat those twinkies...just to clarify
si4/5 = a mortal *** + the letter afer g
Nut - ROFLOL
duh! thanks minver, saving my life as usual :)
yw
ROFL Jacula!!! In USA, Twinkie is a yellow cake shaped like a volkswagon bus filled with cream
hursh - were you doing the winding and glueing rought string thing around it? If so, no wonder you've made a mess.
Dan - thanks for the explanation. Phew!
hah - i had no idea about that brit twinkie thing - *adds 'twinkie' to list of britisms learned from jacs*
i learned (i know i'll get in trouble for this) knob splat the other day
care to elaborate nutty?
*Thinks... 'it's gonna be fun hearing Hell talk to the Natives when she comes over here.'*
no...don't think i do actually hk
FIREWORKS!!! (twice if you count the video)
Yay, dan!
how about oysters
Nut! What?? Like 'cee yew em'?
HK, when are you crossing the pond?
hk is not uttering a peep over there, sure to get arrested first day there
yippee skippee dannnn
Welll done, Dan.
Congratulations danf63 on fireworks!Hooray for you!
I have a feeling it is exactly what it sounds like, isn't it nut?
yayayayya dan!!
i have a feeling
hi everyone
Hello Wyrd! How are you doing?Welcome to the puzzle
and i have a comment on this twinkie thing... why would it be a female part? it looks more like a male part to ME
pam, thinking about it, nothing definite yet
thanks Minver :)
hi everyone!
hiya wyrd
excellent, hk!
HI< TO!
lol wyrd! right down to the filling!
hey owl!!!!!
hey Helen, Temple, everyone :)
hey TO!
waaaah!!! I can't get wa/6/30, and wa6/33 . I don't understand the clues **(
We were supposed to be going away for the weekend to a hotel or B&B tonight. However 'spontaneous' is not a good id4/5 on a Bank Holiday weekend. I've rung places from Land's End to John O'Groats and eveything's booked solid. I was offered a single room in North wales but that was no good to us! *sighs*
oh eva..you bad bad babbler you ;)
Hi 72 Temple Owl! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
On that note, I will bid you all ad5/14. Have to go home and explain to Darth that having your Dad tell you to sign out is not the end of your Babble life...
wa 6/30:more pale & wa 6/33 is wa+hello+NorthEast.
being called bad is like being called good to me.
ciao, dan! good luck!
later dan
Bye Dan, good luck with darth!
Wyrd - no, the euphemism for a male part is a 'winkie' or 'winkle'. LOL
Sorry your weekend didn't pan out, Jac
i meant it as a compliment eva!
bye dan
Goodbye danf63! I will see you tomorrow in the chat!
when nut is bad - she is so totally bad - she's good
Labec, wa+ short for hello + on bended k**e
G'nite all! *poof*
so many bad things are running through my mind that I cannot possibly legally comment Jac :)
Ren - does Nut have a curl right in the middle of her forehead?
yes mistress and it's dyed blue
watchit jac, or i'll call you a kn*b spl*t
ok, time to read my Jodi Picoult.... Hope you all have a great night/day/evening/etc....
Thinking of the old nursery rhyme... There was a little girl had a little curl right in the middle of her forehead... when she was good, she was very, very good and when she was bad SHE WAS HORRID.
LOL
later pam! enjoy!!!
Goodbye pam!I will see you tomorrow in the chat log!
night Pam
niters pam :)
Plural 'punk' with the 's' at the beginning to you, too, Nut! *Falls off chair laughing.*
'Night, Pam. Enjoy your book.
lol! I don't know that word for pale minver :(
wa 7/30 is magic wa*d plus superlative ending labecs.
'S not my fault the Babblecast Poll has everyone cutting their toenails ahead of supporting Nut for news! *assumes sulky posture*
hi everyone!
yeah! thanks for your support jac! and when are you getting skype deary?
hi owl!!!
numbers night, see you all tomorrow
hey again TO!
Hi again 72 Temple Owl. I welcome your 2nd entrance

hey do you two have any idea how long it teakes to get first class mail to australia?
no clue owl...i hope to know next week
k.... i guess i will know soon enough.
glad you got your address
wish i got min's clue....
I know one thing for sure - I need to find some way of doing away with British Telecom (BT) for our 'phone. 'm sick of getting bills that cost us more for the service than the calls. Last bill, for instance...£49.39. Cost of calls = £7.90, Call discounts = 67p, Service charges = £30.97, Payment Charges (a new scam by them!) = £4.50, VAT (Value Added Tax) = £6.69. Total Due = £49.39 HOW CAN THAT MAKE ANY SENSE??
that's why i get my phone through my cable company jac
jacs, what i have found helpful here are prepaid phone cards. if from a good company, like att or sprint, you have all of the taxes and crap, it's all incluseive, so if you figrue 8-10 cents per minute, you come out way ahead. i have begun buying them for my dad
Nut - Thing is, as far as I can tell so far, BT still have the monopoly on you having a line (one of theirs) into your house, so, no matter what other method you choose, other than the cable company (who have a really bad record for sorting out any problems quickly) you need a BT line.
down to 10
oh...that sucks then
jacs, many here have begun to use cell and done away with land lines
gee has anyone seen scrabs tonight?
for those of you that cell comes in at home anyway
However, even though I do have a 'tame' BT engineer who sorts things out for me and makes sure they don't charge me, he's due to retire soon and I don't think I can put up with these ridiculous charges for much longer.
Hi, all. Scrabbler was on earlier tonight, TO
hi jell ty
hey how long do you think it takes to get foodposioning?
TO - Yes, many have. We have our cell phones (mobile phones - some in household are contract phones and mine is pay-as-you-go - but you need a BT line to get SKY TV. Our broadband internet is through a cable company.
aha, they have you over a barrel
sounds like a b@st@rd system to me jac
Telewest (formerly Blueyonder) were very good and I wouldn't have hesitated in changing phone over to them also but they've now been taken over by Virgin and their record is not so good on servive when there are problems.
Nut - It's like everything in this country under the worst Government we have ever had!
ok babblers, ya'll have a good night
aw going so soon?
yep...needs rest...ta!
gee us old geezers can outlast you any night
'Night, Nut.x
oh
G'night, nut
TO - food poisoning? 20 mins to a couple of hours. Why?
night nut
because i have pains. and i picked up a sandwich for dinner and ate around 6:30
Oh dear, TO!
i am such a baby...it hurts! : (
Are you sure it's not just wind, TO?
OOPS! Used a word back there.
i don't think so jacs
and if haole is a word why not wahini?
TO - Go and sit on the loo - rock backwards and forwards gently a few times and then press in quite firmly on your abdomen. See what happens but no need to report back! LOL.
If it's wi4, all will soon be sorted. If it's food poisoning, you should soon get a headache to go with it.
Ends in an e, TO
ty jacs
ty jell
TO - that wa word you just mentioned is in the grid as a ta.
got it jacs thnx
i think i am beginning to sweat...
TO - If it is food poisoning and not a virulent kind (which you need to go to hospital for) then, once all appears to have been first evacuated, drink flat Coca Cola (NOT Pepsi or andy other version)... but sip it slowly and it MUST be flat coke. That rehydrates you and also settles your stomach.
hi all
TO - is the sweating just your age though? (Like me?) Try to calm youself and see what happens. Go to the lo now and try what I said before.xx
Hello, angel.
being sick is the only thing that is hard about living alone
ren you still here?
TO - that and when loneliness unexpectedly overwhelms you, in my experience. Oh, and when you can't get the damned lid off something!
lol
an7 and wa 7 clues please?
a + ****osurgeon (brain doctor) + not out
I just got 131 words in weboggle.A record for me. If only I could get 131 words in just 3 minutes in Babble
wa7 wa + ****d quarters (of an animal)
an7 - ever heard of the Welsh politician An7 Bevan, TO?
an 7/32 is an + vowel plus pee without the last vowel.
loneliness doesn't usually overwhelm me. have come to be used the the fact, i have never made friends easily, just no knack for it
ty!
Oh, TO! But you have many friend here!xx
hi
anis
Hi, Gracie
sorry
hi gracie
awwwwwwwwwwwwwww x
[erhaaps if i take a zantac....the pains are at my wsit both sides equally, not abdomen but waist
sorry joiner hello
Oops, I meant I got 131 points in weboggle. Not good enough to get 131 words.Anway still a record for me.
hey min i'd love to play if can quickly finish this
Hi Gracie123!How are you doing?Welcome to the grid
Hello joso! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle
Hello Angelinaxox! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
hi min,I'm good, how U dooing
ty and hi
doing well
Those bloody lids though, TO, eh? Daughter and I both struggled with a jar of Gherkins last week. Brute female strength, hot water, cold water, rubber gloves, tea towel... nothing bloody worked. It was stuck solid. Was there a male in the house apart from the cat, who didn't look inclined to help out, sleeping as he was? Nope! Not her brother, not her boyfriend nor my Beloved. We did discuss going out into the street and grabbing any passing male over the age of about 13 to help and and then say, 'It's okay, girls. You must've loosened it first!' or, more annoyingly, 'There you go, ladies!' However, the thought of having to do that annoyed us so much we got the top off in the end!
I'm doing well joso.I have been here all day off and on
LOL..had it already been opened?
much less stressed with today's puzzle
bang the lid with a butterknife Jac :)
TO - no, it was a new jar.
firewords !
finally !
TO - equal sided pains? I think it's heartburn.
last 5 all 4 letter words - sheesh
Well done, Hell!
congrats helen
Lol, Jac. It's true about lids. A waterbottle brought me to the brink of tears last week. . .
yay helen! say hell were those storms near you?
Congrats, hk!!
Congratulations helenkeller on fireworks! Good for U!
ty,ty,ty all
wtg hk!
hey, i'm not getting the lickety video
Hi, Ping!
hi ping
hi jellen and joso!
hi again!
yay hk!!!
Somebody else stated that it was a short video today
Bang it with a butter knife?
hi fran
Hi again, Fran
hi ping!
hi jellen!
TO - yes, they were, but not the most horrible parts, those were a few miles from me, but like i said before, i visited my friend today & there was a 100+ year old tree blown down on her block, sidewalk too
Hi FranMag! How are you? Welcome back to the grid!
maybe the vid is as long as the puzzle, 10 sec's a word
cute clue jac!
I was ready to bang it with a Kango hammer, except that would have mashed everything. LOL
Hello all
hi again min!
Hi, Haz
hello haz
Hi Haz 1864! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
I cannot believe this... with all the clues I still can't get wa 6/30 and it's my last one. Please put me out of my misery :(
Thanks, Fran (re the clue).
hi fran
hi joso!
wa + shortened form of greeting + 5cents piece **ckel
wa6/30 = wa + short greeting (not Hello but H*!) + single hump consonant + 2nd vowel.
wa6/30 ***d (magig stick) + Prince Ran***
gotitgotit! Fireworks! yeah!!!! Thanks!
labecs, start with wa* (pale or ashen) and add comparative ending for words that end in Y.
no, wait, that's what i think it should be - the last letter is the 2nd vowel, not the 3rd
yay labecs!!
yay for lab!!!!!!!
Congrats, labecs!!!
yeay lab
well, i guess i'm not getting a video today
:(
Well done, lab.
thanks :)
hk, you can always catch up when he archives it.
Congratulations labecs on fireworks! Hooray for you!
true enough fran :)
ur 6 anyone?
I see the videos in the archives, Hell, since I don't use Lickety Pro.
please?
ur6 is like or6, ping.
ur + ei 4/5
The ur 6/24 word is ur plus the ei 4/5 word Ping.
ur + ei4/5, lol
congrats labecs
ping, ur + e4/5 word (beginning of a goose)
thanks jac, min, hk, fran, and jellen - this is great, you guys!
what video is everyone talking about?
yw
*poof*
labecs, if you use babble expert (beta program that lickety did) you see a video at the end.
I cam the nearest to crying at a wedding that I've ever come today - my best friend looked so HAPPY and, knowing all the ess aitch eye tee we've both been through together over the past decade and a little bit more, I was so pleased for her and for me that we both seem to have got it right at last.
i think that may be the first time that more than 4 people gave the same clue, everyone usually has a variation.
that's really nice jac.
That's really great, Jac.
where do I get the program?
i was just thinking, fran, how when people same "the beginning of a goose" it is somehow understood
Hey what can I say FranMag?Great minds think alike!
Email lickety for the URL
you have to email lickety and he will send it to you.
We've both got stoppy fellas now, younger than us, but they seem and we seem to have 'got it' at last. That is so good.
I meant to type stRoppy.
it's a windows program though, so if you have a Mac (like i do) it won't work.
that's true min!
ping, it's funny when we have to explain "hairy nosed dolphin" and "the volcano" to the new people though. :-)
i can't ever remember the dolphin - i always get the word, but i never remember the meaning
yes, it's like a language that exists only here
It is nice to know that a novice cluer like me can still give the same clues as expert cluers like all you guys!
fran, do you like your new place?
so what IS the dolphin?
i think FMitch has a picture of the dolphin in her flickr.
how do I email him? (forgive my ignorance)
Am I still the only subborn b*gger on Babble that doesn't use Lickety? I've nothing against the guy and I applaud what he's achieved, but, for myself, I came on here to challenge my brain and so too much help isn't what I want.
inia hk
Mind you, I do wonder what goes on in the Lickety chat etc.
yes - ty fran!
ping, it's just the right size for us and there are lots of sidewalks and places to walk in the area, so yes, we do like it.
I may well install it once son sorts this stupid new PC out properly.
i never use the lickety chat myself
i don't use it jac
I applaud what you can achieve without a list Jacula!
glad to hear that, fran!
Labecs, his address is on the clues page.
fran - you got a new house?
oh, right...
I don't use the lickety chat either, this his great list.
hk, we were renting a house that the owners decided to sell. we moved into a condo that we are also renting.
I don't use the lickety chat either, just his great list.
labecs - licketySplitAUS @ gmail.com
fran - ah i see, it sucks to have a place pulled out from under you like that though, but i'm glad you like your new place
So anyone going to get a Babble t-shirt for jut $5.00?
management company was pressuring owners to make a lot of repairs. they didn't want to so they decided to sell the house. even in less than perfect condition it would have been 500K or thereabouts!
i ordered one, min
tell me about it hk!
i should get one too.
Minver - the price of the tee-shirts wasn't ever an issue over here in UK - however, the shipping cost is. It's more than the shirt costs.
we have issues like that over here jac, shipping to Hawaii bumps up the cost for most things also.
Even if I ot my friend in NYC to order me one and I paid her back fo postal charges - it'd still come to more.:(
I guess Dr_God needs to find a UK contact who can post stuff in and to UK Babblers.
fran, does it cost more with the post office or the shippping companies? all?
ping, did you join our babble group at last.fm yet?
all ping.
no, fran, i never figured that out
shipping companies more than post office though.
If I got one, nobody I know would know what it means
i'm with you on that one ping
Fran - I found that hard to figure out, too.
lol, that's true min.
well, i am going to play with the dogs for a while, maybe see you all at the flip
Just noticed the new ones. I like the old ones better.
i got one so that if i meet one of you guys one day i can where it then
Goodbye helenkeller!I'll see you tomorrow in the chat
Minver - that's the whole point - if they really wanted to know they would ask and e'd have more potential vitcims/addicts, ahem! I mean members for the site.
just go here: http://www.last.fm/group/babble and click on join the group
later helen!
bye, helen
'Night, Hell.
Ping we could wear t-shirts to the Babble camp that we have been talking about.
I do find last.fm hard to navigate.
To be honest, I haven't really tried to navigate around last fm but I couldn't find much group chat when I last looked about 2 or 3 weeks ago.
i did it, fran!
I think that they should sell Babble cushions to sit on so our butts don't get sore from babbling all day long!
night, hk!
good idea, min
Minver - Good id4!
lol min
eo 6 anyone?
Babble quick dusters and vacuum cleaners would also sell well, as would Babble 'instant home-cooked' dinners.
ping, if you have ae7, take the A away.
eo* (long time) + *** Fleming, author
eo 6/18 is eo + single hump + Ind*** (native american)
hey did hte site burp? or was it evil msn? hi pinger
LOL Jacula. Didn't someone start a Babble store. We should tell them. I think it was aknitter who did that.
Yes, Minver, The Babblestore is in BabAnon.
thanks, fran, jellen, and min!
it was nrkii
Ok speaking of sore butts, I need to get off mine for a bit!I will be back at the flip!Good luck finishing Ping
where's nrkii?
thanks, min!
bye, Min
Wonder who's maaasaging Minver's butt back to life? LOL
I have not seen nrkii in forever! Ok see ya'll later on!
she quit, said it ws taking tup too much time
she quit, said it ws taking tup too much time '
TO - I can understand that, because it can.
you can write nrkii through her blog, journey woman
However, there are ways to do all you need to do, chat, clue etc.
yes jacs. i have been pondering that a lot lately.
can i get clues for the u words please?
The only reason I'm not sleeping now is because the hot flushes, having gone away as mysteriously as they arrived, are now back with a vengenge (sp?) and hitting me whether sleeping or awake at about the rate of 1 per 30 mins. I'm knackered!
vengeance
jacs have you tried black cohosh?
u word - un4/6 - beneath without the final 'r'
To - Yes.
:) jac
And red clover etc., etc. Cold flannel applied when it hits works best.
hi all
hi jili!
Hi, jilli.
hi jill
hi, jilli
i took estrogen
ur6 = same as or6 with with u ar start.
I was lucky -- never had a twinge about menopause
TO - we call it oestrogen over here.
(whew -- had to check that twinge wasn't in the grid)
great icon clue choice, jac!!!
yes. babble tuahg tme that. however, i did not take it for those symptoms, black cohosh worked for me
tuahg tme?
ty jacs
As I said the other night, when it seemed to be femalwe hormone and womb probs abounding... they (the hot flushes) come and go as to my periods. When they regulate, I'm fine. When I'm due for 3 monhs, no show... the sweats come back with a vengeance. If I take after my Mum... I'll have 9 more years of this (she had 10).
Black Kohosh can damage your liver taken long term.
taught not whatever the heck i typed
Thanks, jilli, re the icon.
oh jac, poor you!
did not need it very long fortunately.
er7 please?
I only have 46 words, no 8s, no help to anyone :(
er7 = to make a mistake + short greeting (US style) + single hump consonant + 2nd vowel.
It means - a drug meant to be sniffed, as I recall.
sheesh, what a word!
ne6?
ne + re 4/4
nm ty
ty
The 8s: or8/40 = more quarrelsome (US Southern word, I think). si8 = a mammal like a dugong or manatee. Begins with the blare off the top of an emergency vehicle.
ok jacula....here is my recommendation....works like a charm on me....a handful of almonds every day...no skipping.....i used to have the flashes about one an hour before i started
ty for the 8 c lues
y/w, TO.
i found my last one
Wakemeup - I wouldn't dream of skipping! LOL The nuts do help though.
Well done, Angel.
now i have no more hot flashes (unless i skip a day of almonds, then takes me a day or two to get back on track)
i'm back! disappeared into last.fm.
thank you jacula
wakemeup, what is in the nuts that helps?
thanks, jac -- got the or8 but working on the si8; you did give me the si5 though :)
good night all
LMAO i dont skip either lol that did sound funny now didnt it....imagine us old farts skipping...of course i meant u cant skip a day taking the almonds
night angelina
jilli, add *** fleming to the si5.
I wouldn't dream of skipping because that would bring on a ot flush (though the US version 'flash' is a better descriptive). Even Other Half turning over in bed can start a night sweat!
wake, I love your handle!
i disappeared int o last fm too - i don't quite get it yet
ping, did you download the autoscrobbling software?
fran, dont know what it is, but the benefits from the acutal nuts helps with the roughage (did i spell that rite?) if u get my drift lol
hee hee, i get it WMU. :-)
ty jilli urz is lovely also
no - is that my problem?
Wakeme - skipping for all of us will be fine providing a) we are all wearing sports bras and b) the air conditioning is on full blast. No black eyes and no slipping on sweat. LOL
jacs i think you are right about the heartburn
jacs i think you are right about the heartburn or perhaps gall bladder attack
may i have a clue for ho 6? and if it's a fish...make it a shark please please please
but Wake, that's my wakeup time too (a.m.)
maybe, you download the software to your computer and it runs in the background. when you play songs on your computer or at the last.fm site, they get added to your profile.
lol jill ......plus it just isn't DIGNIFIED
then the last.fm software recommends songs/artists that you might like based on what you've been playing.
TO - I'm so glad about that. Take an antacid and a glass of milk.
lol yes jilli, but its also my birthday, so it has a double meaning (i am VERY deep, i'll have u know)
i will try that
i have my dodg on Pepcid right now...he's had a horrible bout of diarrhea...the pepcid works beautifully
those songs become a "radio station" that you can play from the website. hopefully to introduce new music to try.
hi MM! poor doggy
*dog.... not dodg
10/10 is the Chinese "Double Tenth" and the day my dad died, Wake

well pardner being from the lone star state you should know this one

TO...have you done a gallbladder flush?
hmmmmm a flushed gallbladder sounds unpleasant
Worst vet tale I've yet heard is that of a dog who ventured into office when shredder was working a licked it...
even in store displays WMU, it looks better.
yipes jacula...that's awful
eek jac!
I'd rather talk about 10/10 s than gallbladder flushes
Note for all. Put your shredder up on the desk. No cat is ever going to be o dat as to lick the blades.
lol jilli
OMG shredder licking is a hazard? who'd a thunk it?
ouch -- poor pup!
I always put the shredder up on the desk anyway, as my back gets ricked after so long. (We don't shred on a daily basis).
