Mr MRes did i add you to the goodreads friends list?
oh, make that 3 x in8
good for you, fran -- can't find that N word!
I will go look soon infern
hey speaking of goodreads - anyone feel free to add me as their friend! i Love the idea of that site - can't wait to really start delving into it
Saint I am herinfernallady there too we also have a babble group too (thanks to Feather)
thanks freep!
th7 x 2 - diff spelling same thing
yep herin - i think you added me last night :) thanks!
ar6 ar7 ar8...
I dont know who i added there was 10 requests when i woke up
ty for the th words
ty mrp for the th x 2
:) so interesting to see all the diff. kinds of books folks like (ps don't judge me by the last book i read - i explained in my note about it!) haha
I have just started the read for the year. I find it fascinating what people are reading
Clues are up!
ty, lickety!
woo hoo! thanks lickety!
hi and thanks lickety
I read the back of the cornflakes box this morning.
thanks lickety :)
ThankYOU, Lickety!!!
thanks Lickety
thank you lickety
late fliptime
jilli, great icon!
good boy! that is an advancement for you!! you usually only read delphi
hi knight
hey KT!
Lickety, you are so humblingly intellectual, reading the back of the cornflakes box!
thx fran
Ok, so the cornflakes box was the bookmark for my Odyssey I'm writing
hi fran, herinfernal, and all
i always read the cereal box
it7
after reading the comics
Hi KT
oh sure, Lickety :)
back later must get dressed and organised for dinner party tonight
G'Night Herin- havefun
oh lady - don't forget to pack your book.
Here if you read the cereal box at least you learn some French
Have a good party herin!
later infernal!
I wonder what authors think of differences between reading and writing - Is reading a waste - if you can write?
ok, time to pack the kids off to sleepover... bye for now :)
later mrp!
Bye MrP
i have a friend who is a pseudo-author / aspiring author and she refuses to read because it wastes time when she could write. I think thats pretentious crap. and hi :)
caio mrp
ca7
i'll think about that for a while lickety
hi ata!
several authors i'm acquainted with read copiously.
give you an answer later
I hate vowels
(what an entrance) :-)
Atalante - That's exactly what I was hoping someone would say - and yes I agree totally.
*grins*
stephen king (one of my favorites) has read harry potter, even reviewed it for a magazine.
all my fvaourite authors - proper authors - read copiously
I don't know any author who says "don't read"
Art is to be appreciated in the creation, but true appreciation is in touching others
Hi All! Stephen King's _On Writing_ is a fascinating read. He's a voracious reader and an undeniably prolific writer. Really, a great memoir.
i still don't understand why icer is not a word
hey frog!
i keep my wine cool in one
(now if only I could write or speak english)
he7
half way point, but 4.5 average. All up hill from here.
frogtaco - thanks for that - I'll look out for it
Hey Fran!
Sure thing. It's quite entertaining. Saw a quote from SK yesterday I think that probably made me think of his book tonight. Something like, "Any word you have to look up in a thesaurus is the wrong word. There is no exception to this rule."
th7 x 3
So if I wanted to comment about how entertaining you are right now, I'll make something up - like ' frogtaco is being quite babbelicious ?
As long as you didn't look that up, it's fine. :)
well making it up is different from looking it up I suppose. Who really uses thesaurus's anyway. I suppose if you are stuck.
Maybe if spellcheck gives you the wrong word. :)
synoninium = thesaurus word for thesaurs
what a hideous word!
and ugly. and ungainly. and unattractive. and....
Knight - I can't find that word in any dictionary. What language?
i may have mispelled it
Hhaaaaa - looks like you need a dictionary
looool
synonymium?
i may be wrong - very possible
could have been a pseudo-neologism
synonymousness - the semantic relation that holds between two words that can (in a given context) express the same meaning
oo -- don't show that to enable!
if that shows up in a grid, i'm quitting
heheh. i love it
me too Fran
Synonymicon - dictionary of synonyms
Now - that's just stupid
that's it lickety
whats a synonym for a synonymicon?
thesaurus
LOL
How about syngenesophobia?
that would be a great word in a grid
lots of points
If you find "thesaurus" while looking up "synonymicon" then you have to throw out the whole book. :)
erda, that word scares me
It means fear of relatives; found it in Mrs. Byrne's dictionary
hehehehe - frog
...and Mrs. Byrne is Jascha Heifetz's daughter
Geek. Hello
that's a good word erda
in7
Yes it is, but I don't think I will memorize it
Hi there. I've been busy updating my profile.
Ah. Nice picture.
A bit cooler there than here!

for ten mil NZ you can come and buy a south island ski field if you want to emmigrate somwhere lol
do you know the exchange rate kiwi?
$1 kiwi gets about 68c US at the moment
so that would be about 6.8 mil US lol
that's less than many houses sell for in the town north of mine here, so comparatively, it's a bargain.
just a little bit over my budget kiwi, maybe if the price comes down. :-)
true dc, for a whole ski field it sounds like a great deal.
well its the only privately owned ski field in nz
are most ski areas there gov't owned?
all but one ski field are all in national parks and leased out
Yikes! i didn't want to miss 'cross dressing' day!

Im just looking at new tech toys. Sprite you have a lovely speaking voice
I am so happy you enjoy it :) It was a bit scary, knowing I would not be able to disguise the dutch accent on a recording :)
why would you want to?
errrr.... good question... to make it as perfect as possible, I guess. Not have some accent distract from the text. Or a little afraid people might find it irritating.
but an accent or dialect is part of you!
I have 2 Th 7 32 with the reverse end what am i missing please. Sprite i loved the accent
I am truly happy with how the first babble bookcast is being received :) We will do more, and I so hope you guys will make your own contribution too.
sprite, i grew up in the southern US, and have an accent myself, if a southern drawl
never mind
people in NYC and Boston have trouble understanding me sometimes.
I would love to contribute but my jacks on my PC are dead
oh, I love that southern drawl! Couldn't get enough of it when watching North and South, lol.
lol :">
DC i had an american southern dinner the other night complete with Chef Williams Southern Bread pudding so very yummy
well, maybe it was just my usual fear of becoming visible and vulnerable, in a way. But it was gr5 fun doing it, mrP was so wonderful and we laughed so much.
i grew up with an intersection of Southern and Hungarian cooking, as mom's family is from hungary, and the neighbors wer from the south.
got to go, good luck all, bbl
so, krumpli and chitterlings, if not together.
you are one spoiled-rotten brat then, dcseain :D

Today has been nice
and herin, of course
hi, rmcc
the whole week has been lovely - and hopefully some rain on the way though
did you actually go out of doors, herin?
hey dcs
dcseain, let me check: did I offend you by saying you were spoilt with two delicious cooking styles? I meant it in a joking way, of course.
no, no offence taken whatsoever
knowing my years coming up, that's the least of things i was spoiled with.
Not really out per say but I opened the house burnt some incense cooked this weeks dinner then went across the road
I am glad! For a minute I thought I'd put my foot into it. :)
wow! that's more than i did.am having a rest day, nearly over *sigh*
Tomorrow we are going out for a picnic in the hills, I was meant to have a quest over but he canceled as he had previous engagement. Now im stuck with a mud cake
guest not quest (silly role playing brain)
picnic, i look forward to doing that again once the weather cools.

A smoke when your not having one

aaahhhh, got it. thanx herin
Yep. Just an outside chat with the guys
don't get it herin
The boys went out for a smoke i followed but didnt join in
I smoke and one of our friends comes out for an imaginary smoke when he is fed up as well
hello ruru
Katie thats about it
i sometimes go out to chat with the smokers
ho lore
hi ruru
Hi Ru Ru. We dont smoke in the house but they wanted to
I tend to avoid smokerws
smokers
i do too, but much of my family smokes, so to chat, sometimes it's easier to follow
horrible habit ... I feel badly for the smokers who get addicted
They are all outsider smokers. My boy smokes cause he likes it hes odd
my mama's been smoking for48 years
it's a personal thing ruru, but remember a lot of smokers smoke because they like it rather than they are addicted.
Why do people have to spoil shows
Oh sure... it is calming for them, but still a horrible habit
I just got told 'oh Dr who Captian Jack blah blah blah' after i said 5 times i dont want to know.
I just got told 'oh Dr who Captian Jack blah blah blah' after i said 5 times i dont want to know.
what do you mean herin?
Something happens on Dr Who and my friend just told me what happens after i said dont tell me i dont want to know
Ahhhhh.....we have a lady at work who downloads and watches american tv so she is always way ahead on the series we get over here - she is so banned from talking about them, it's just mean to spoil it!!
Yep I very rarely watch Saturday night tv as nothing is on. In fact i rarely watch tv
Clue for the ir 7 please
herin, there's an ir6, meaning peaceful
I have sky+ which lets you record tv so I watch certain series and can fast forward through the adverts. My favourite at the moment are House and Cold Case
I like cold case but its finished here
So there is not ir 7?
it just finished here last week
clue pls ne6/18, the last one? and no herin, just ir4 x 2 and ir6
ta
dont have it
i've got an ir5/10 meaning angry
no, no, no, ir5, ir5, then ir4, sorry for the red herring, herin
still not right, ir5, ir6, ir4

Hi Mari. Clue for the HE 7 please
morning, mari.
YES dcs, i finally got it right,LOL
Morning Mari, house fantastic, thanks x
katie, you were just chatting about series with lady, but I thought that "sky + which lets your record TV" was a clue and so I thought "air" plus something like a mike, or a dvd.... and it was no clue at all :)
hello mari alls well down under
herin a metric land measure
thanks
tks rmc c
i'm sorry sprite I should have thought about how it looked.
Do you need more coffee sprite?
hi mari, i'm having serious brain fatigue here, how are you?
katie, no, not at all! I should have read more carefully. And it made me really laugh at myself when I realised :)
yw , both of you
I am cooking dinner

going out early to buy something very important - now neither of us can remember what it is - should we worry????
clue pls, ne6/18, the last one?
i'm counting the minutes untily i get to leave work in ~2.5 hrs.
Mari - I think I should!!
LOL mari! No, don't worry, and don't try to remember. That way it will pop up all the sooner ;)
DC poor you
I only have more tidy
have that herin
eh, i took the job with the long shifts and the slow overnights. :)
how many NE 6s then i may be able to help
3 total NE 6s
I have ne6/21 the stuff from the flowers. And the tidier one.
ther's an ne6/21, followed by ne6/18
Katie - can't believe how innocent these two kittens look in your icon!
me too, tho one after the flowers is elusive, though
I have a worm thing
+ Ne + **name+ to be
Mari - backdoor open kittens in behaving like angles, you just have to have the touch!!
lol, dcs, that's where i'm at too
Katie did you discover anything out of place?
can't find the last ir
Ok scratch that Crumble is now trying to make friends with fuggles!!
ah, thanks ruru
it's a flower ruru
Fuggles the hamster?
Oh yes!
The kitty is attacking the hard drive flashy light
I have the 4/4 I need another. I haven't gone to lickety's list yet
my older one will try to catch the mouse pointer sometimes
welcome sprite .
ruru, the ir8 ur missing?
My b.f is getting pissy at her
Herin, the sky box has a light that goes round and the kittens can watch it for hours
ruru there's an ir5, ir6 and ir4
Not impressed
duh. ir6
okay I need a ir 6
i'm missing that one, too
ir6, means peaceful
herin as long as she doesn't chew it you should be ok.
clue please for ba8/55 please?
adjectival form of ir5
flask, ba8 are small things
does it say something about me that i could get the ir5 but not the ir6!
Its not me she attacking but the boy and hes getting annoyed
Flask: tiny beasties that can make you ill
flask... think germs
brb
Oh my goodness....thanks to you all for the clues....got it!
yay Flask :)
does anyone pleeeese have ne6/18, the last?
I've only got the one that was just clued
ne + the again prefix + form of to be, rmcc
if it's the one with ** name in it, the clue was lost on me!!!
thanks sprite
yw :)
ggggrrrrr.... i'm positive i tried that. thanx sprite
ne + **place + to be
lol, I know that feeling, grin. You're welcome :D
sorry bad clue rmc
the th7s are escaping me, any clues out there, pls?
there are no bad clues (except the spelling ones). Only clues that click and ones that don't click for a certain person.

I think I'm getting fed up with my grumpy monkey. I'll look for a new icon for tomorrow. Oh Natasa, I used to know Jacqueline Wilson. She wrote a serial for a magazine called Loving that I was fiction editor of. This was back in the late '80s. Very, very nice woman.
My house is a nightmare

Hi
i can't find my remote... i'm stuck watch biography... which was interesting for a while, but now not so much.
i don't know...
i need advice.
pretty close mom
Dave Thomas, Tragic?
hi herin
got your dunkin dognuts?
that was when it was interesting
now it's the papercup guy
hurshy ?
ill lend you my remote if you think it will work tragic
about to open it :)
What kind of advice Hurshy?
I was watching it while I had breakfast.
jean- america - my america anyhow - indeed runs on dunkin
I lost my tv watching this eve. Whats up Hurshy and hugs too
yes please nono
thank you
i thought that with all the changes in my life that i finally was happy and have been weaning off my anti-d. but this week i feel... i dunno... and i'm wondering if i should stay on it after all. how do you decide if you still need it?
I like dunkin dognuts
ok <passing remote over
Im off babblers...go make some dances up with sisters just to shut her up..lol
hurshy: i don't. i take it. period.
if you feel crappy you still need it
bye bye Natasa
hursh - you want a therapist perspective?
have fun Nat
what does your physcian say Hurshy ?
good idea nat !
yehh
well my therapist had originally told me that for some people it changes their brain chemistry and then they don't need it anymore (when i first got on it).
your therapist or your psychiatrist
bye
and what does he/she say latterly ?
psychologist.
Hurshy did you just stop 'cold turkey' or drop the dose?
well i moved, karys, so i don't see him anymore.
How long have you been on it, Hurshy?
so not the prescriber
i have been dropping the dose gradually. i was on it for a couple of years.
Need to go andget busy. Have a good day everyone. {{Hugs for Hurshy}}}
aah... do you think you should get some professional advice now ?
bye Mom
no and my prescriber has changed too, since i moved. my lady that i had before i really liked and my new lady seems ok but i don't feel as comfortable with her.
bye Karys :)
Ok thats a good think 'cold turkey' bad. I think you should talk to a trusting G.P. person that issued the meds.
later natasa
That is probably adding to your tension and anxiety load, Hurshy.
and may i get some advise too?
I think you should talk to someone too Hurshy, seems it's been sometime
but i'm trying to figure out if this week had circumstances that were different, or if it is the meds.
what do you need TO?
you'll just wind yourself up even more that way Hrush
ok i must go hang laundry bbl
I am not a professional Hurshy. I dont know what to say to you. If it helps you right a diary of what you did - something simple like - got up -felt good.etc
wsa that the advice you wanted Temple ?
More likely the circumstances. Temple, how can we help you? Infernal, damn good idea.
hursh - i can tell you what i tell my clients, but right - you should find a psych that you trust.. . but, anxiety meds can help you to learn how to deal with the anxiety... is why you can go off them eventually - if you can deal with the anxiety in a way that the exclaimation point on the end of your anxiety leaves
oh i am still taking my anxiety one. it's my anti-depressant that i'm debating.
ahh - do you mind sharing which it is?
zoloft
is the one you went off of?
if you're debating, would this not indicate that you should stay where you are ?
Hurshy what ever you do decide dont get down the path of no return and spiral into a black hole. Its easier to dust off your bruised knees now than it is to dig your way out of the hole later
If they work in tandem and you phase one out, it could have some chemical reactions, perhaps.
i didn't go totally off yet, tragic. i've still been taking 50 mg like every 2 or 3 days.
Hurshy we luvs you and hugs.
it's just that weaning off, i get lightheaded and stuff and that's when i take half a pill. if i go all the way back on, i'm going to have to go through that again later.
yeah- the way you're suppossed to wean is not some days yes some days no
that's why you're getting the reactions
why don't you just carry on weaning as you are now for a while longer ?
if you go back on, and then come off the way you're supossed too it wouldn't happen that way
my prescribed dose is 100
if i wean off later how do i do it?
you wean up to that, and wean down from that...
you cut doses in half every few days... 4 or 5 days is how i like my cliets to do it
taking it every day
well i also am not sure if the lightheadedness was partially iron deficiency?
it 8 clue please
but again, i try to get them to talk to their shrink too... who allows it to happen quicker
i have sort of unintentionally become mainly vegetarian.
have you looked at your eyelid for the iron?
no, what do you look for?
the question is whether events have caused you to feel bad or if you need the zoloft ... do a george bush and stay course ... if you continue to feel out of sorts, resume the prescribed dosage .. if you feel better you need the zoloft ...
there haven't been any bad events, there just haven't been enough interesting ones.
pull the bottom lid out, and look at the lip of the lid - like the other end of where your eyelashes are
it should be pink-red
if it's pale it could be iron
what anxiety med are you on?
is it a take when needed?
klonopin
okay, your words8:14 amhurshy but i'm trying to figure out if this week had circumstances that were different, or if it is the meds.
well i went on the klonopin to help me sleep. and it turned out to help a lot with anxiety.
i know brabble, and i think i am leaning toward the latter. :)
that's what I take for my social anxiety hursh it works great for panic attacks !
I think you need the zoloft
i take the klonopin every night and it is perfect. see that one it just totally works.
yeah... i do too...
Hi Kris and im going to sit on the fence to watch as i have no idea what to say other than hugs
hi herin
but you should see a doc, because the "best way" to do it is to wean back on them too
whereas the zoloft, it only brought me from really depressed to mildly depressed, sometimes neutral, and only in the last couple of weeks have i felt happy, but then i lost it.
yeah- when you're happy on meds, they're working :)
a ot of people go off them when they feel happy - but it's counter-intuitive to do so
meds are only supossed to take the exclamation point off of the end of the mood
but is it supposed to have taken a couple of years for the happiness to kick in? that's why i thought i was not happy bc of the med.
happy is not something that can be gotten from meds.
not as miserable is
hursh they are not a magic bullet. if the unhappiness is caused by circumstances instead of chemistry
and if i could add my 2 cents , i was taking 15 pills a day , i was like a zombie for about 8 months literally slept constantly, <not good when you have kids > and i went off all of them cold turkey ; which was stoopid , i could have had a seizure , but i went through bad withdrawal bad for about a month and nnow i only take my clonopin when i'm going somewhere where i think i will be bothered , i take it about once every six months , and havent touched the other pills in about 4 months , i am learning to see the signs of a breakdown coming and i cope
well that is why i thought if i had it and i went OFF the meds i would not LOSE it.
and theres my story lol
happy is something that happens on top of med not cause of
but maybe i need meds to be more neutral and only on top of that can add happy?
i'm gonna think of an analogy
give me a sec
is what i'm going for hursh
they are perhaps, necessary but not sufficient
with or without meds you'll have ups and downs
cause you're human
the last couple days i've gone back to feeling like crying for no reason really other than hopelessness
if neds bring you closer to neutral generally, then the meds are helpful in getting you to happy - cause you're starting from a different pace
i have fought it off but don't want it to get worse to where i can't.
yeah- you need your meds sweetie
stay on the meds full dose hursh ! you're not ready
and you might be on the wrong one
i'd talk to a therapist
(((((((hurshy)))))))
where do you live again?
stud may be right. You could be on the wrong one.
well eliot, the trouble is, the first one i tried, lexapro, i had a real bad reaction to. zoloft is ok so i didn't want to switch again and risk another bad reaction.
yeah- but there are some that have a lot fewer bad reactions
i live in RI. i lived in western CT when i went on all these meds. i moved here in march, separating from my husband.
celexa is a cleaner version of lexapro, wellbutrin has side effects of better orgasms :)
well eliot, that is part of my problem - no sex life. lol
You've had a tough time and a lot of upheavals, so don't feel bad about being depressed, hurshy.
you gotta be super open and communicative with your shrink - it can take a long time to find the right one
it's ironic, i'm finally at a place where i can have sex without feeling guilty and now i haven't got anyone i want to have sex with (who lives nearby and also wants to have sex with me, that is).
yeah- amen to that
sucks, right?
YES
you can fix that yourself though... but that's another conversation
5 months after a breakup, just generally not a good time to stop meds :)
i cannot fix that myself, it's so not the same. it's all about the connection.
yeah, i guess (about the meds).
i'm just disappointed, i thought, go me, i can be happy!
i can see who i know out there that you'd like better
and you can! even if it involves meds
it's like 'go me i can breathe!' on a day when you have a cold but took sudafed
my new doctor seems fine but the practice is SO busy
you go to a doctor doctor? or a psychiatrist
my old place i would go in and there was this huge waiting room and usually nobody in it, maybe 2 tops, and they would see me within like 2 minutes of my arrival.
well see, i had been seeing psychologist for about 3 years, had been on the meds for a while, and my prescriber was a physicians assistant, very sweet and sympathetic.
zoloft is targeted to help maintain serotonin levels ... a chemical problem ... why go off a medication that has helped you? Maybe you need a higher dose.... if it is side effects you want to get rid of, maybe try a different med. talk to your psychologist about the options you have .. stopping a med that helps symply because you were told your brain may adjust is not wise if the med is helping
when i moved here, well, i actually was doing a lot better anyway, getting away from that situation, so i didn't feel the need for anything but a doctor to keep prescribing the meds.
and i'm not making very much money so i can't really afford even the copays to see a psych person now.
the issue is that internal medicine docs and ent docs don't know as much about psychotropics...
hmmm
I think that the social security system have written me off as too mental to work but not mental enough for benefits which would pay for a private psyc
right the PA that i had was prescribing on my psychologists advice and talking to me some, and i had told them they could talk about me, don't know how much they did.
hursh, i don't know that that needs to mean you can't go to a psychiatrist. there's probably somewhere there that you can go for near free... it's just a matter of finding it - wherein ri are you?
can you call the old PA?
what would i say to her exactly?
exactly what's going on (lol lady)
she has a new baby, went on maternity leave just before i left, i don't want to bother her...
and ask what she thinks you should do...
oooh - ok sweetie, you should see a therapist too :) you're in pain - it's a phone call...
she can answer a phone call with a baby
i'm not too bad, i think i can just try weaning back on and i'll be fine.
what many patients have been doing is going to their prescribing physician and asking them to prescribe a dose that is double what they usually take, then cutting the pill in half. That way you only pay about a 1/4 more for the prescription but have double the amount of pills to take. However, not all pills can be cut in half. Its a real cost saver in this crazy health care cost market.
oh woman.... you're killin me... you're lucky i'm not closer or i'd bop you on the head :)
that is pretty stupid, lideola, that things work that way.
well, its better than not paying the gas bill because you have to pay for meds
what, if i was doing well until i started weaning off, it stands to reason i can be doing well again if i wean back on, doesn't it?
i didn't mean the people doing it were stupid, i meant the SYSTEM was stupid :)
i don't think she was saying you were stupid lid, i think she's saying that the system is stupid
And this is why i love the Australian medical system AT times
lideola, my insurance company even advises to do that very thing
yes, its a difficult system that is getting more and more difficult- trust me, I am a reimbursement specialist for a HUGE ER staffing/billing ocmpany
yes it does hursh...
then why bop me on my poor little head?
well lady - not only good medical, but you all also sound really cool when you talk to one another
the system IS stupid.....mine won't pay for malaria prevention meds when I go to south america, but it willfully cover me if I get malaria
will...fully not willfully lol
:) because of the eeyore voice i'm hearing you talking in i think
lol eliot
http://www.myrxsavings.com/ja/article. shtml
I just read this article here about that
and because you really should be checking in with a doc.
Most of us AUssies are fairly laid back
time for a break.... bbl
i work at an lgbt health agency who can't get the hiv positive employees health coverage because insurance companies won't accept them
almost seems like it would be better not to come up with treatments than to tantalize people with their existence and not provide them.
and that sucks alot. Its not like HIV drugs are expensive
eliot has been stunned into silence
heh
nope, just had to move the laptop on my hip cause of the pups
how fun would a babblers retreat be
that sounds like a discrimination suit in the making
you'd think jean
ah the pre-existing condition clause
anyhow hursh - wean back up, don't just go back on
yes lid
yes indeed ma'am
every 2-3 days...
i bop you again
it is annoying that you move and some things get better and then other things get worse. i SO miss my old doctor situation.
I believe that our mental health system was the reason my friend died. There was no where for him to go with his mental health. The reason - he was gay and it wasnt safe for him in the mens section. Im not saying that being different is an illness im saying his head was broken to start with and no one helped him
yeah
but now i work full time and have to take time out of work to see anybody, so i can't go much anyway.
and this woman i found was like the only female doc i could find near work, and i refuse to see a man.
Hurshy could you see your old doc? I travel up to 3 hrs to see mine
its funny, i tell my clients that if they want to be happy because of therapy they need to see a different therapist.
cause of just that. ups and down concurrently are the way life is... and it sucks
Hi everyone
Hi tiny
hi tiny
speaking of ups and downs... i have to go to a damn bridal shower.... i don't wanna i don't wanna!
so don't!
HA HA tragic thats funny
"why's that boy at a bridal shower?"
and tomorrow... "why's that boy a bridesmaid?"
Put on a sexy man suit and well freak them out :)
i'm wearing a suit for the wedding
who is getting married male or female
periwinkle no less
i'm so frustrated
both tiny
and i'm in the bridal party
lol
and who is the bridesmaid
we have lots of Wordies in this area, don't we?
she is, lol
heaps
and was like 'laur, if i wear a dress, no one will be looking at you all day... they'll be wondering why you put a boy in a dress
Tragic i was wearing my male friends clothes (shirt vest long Lestat jacket) my pants and i got hit on by a guy at the glbt mardi gra. Yes i looked at this guy like ''yes can i help you '
there is some irony about not seeing a male professinal but at least listening to male babblers
lo- lady, i'm glad you're far away - i'd have such a crush if we were closer
brabble - i had a male psychologist
i'm a girl :)
I think I am going to back out of this conversation and come back later I am so confused
i just refuse to see a male in any situation where any state of undress might be requested.
ha ha ha www.photobucket.com search for herdarkmistress.
lol tiny...
i'm a girl that looks like a boy
i have no problem with male advice, just men i don't know seeing me naked.
is all you've missed
I am done.. self-medication is inadvisable ... talk to a psychiatrist
Hurshy cause thats a laughing matter in its self
I am flattered Tragic but i am taken
ok tragic, I see you are already on to the next one!
i know! this is why i'm hhappy you're there!
:)
nah- she was first jean
though if she'd proposed she'd have meant it
*wipes away tear*
ouch
it's not self-medication, it was prescribed under the right circumstances, it was just inadvisable for me to try to wean off, and i'm sorry i brought it up.
i know, it did hurt
;)
i'm not hursh - you got the answer you needed!
a periwinkle suit you say?
I did not mean to offend you.
***puts up a force field around hurshy to protect her from things that unintentionally hurt her feelings***
indeed jean
it's ok brabble, really, i know you didn't.
and i have to bind... the "ladies" don't fit properly in the shirt
um.......gackkkkkkkkkk
lol, i'm not familiar with that term :)
it's self explanatory
eliot, didn't they have suits that are cut for a female?
hursh, i'm playing impishly around you in my mind to make you laugh
not in periwinkle
lmao
fuckin periwinkle
ugh
i wore a periwinkle dress once.
was not a fan.
back when it was in stye?
yeah- i mean... ugh.
i love her, i'll do what she wants me to
I don't think periwinkle was EVER in style
it's just a weekend
can someone tell me why i just looked at my photobucket account pic
it's lovely on hydrangia, but otherwise, not so much
this is SO confusing, what with there being a babbler named periwinkle.
because you told me to ook at it and wanted to know what i was seeing
lol... i will not be wearing the babbler hursh. does that clear things up? :)
I thought maybe it was periwinkle's wedding
yep. The top boy is my b/f the last boy at the bottom is my friend that died :(
I, too, was mildly confused
well it's not confusing so much as.... startling
nope
i just met you all
i thought you were wearing periwinkle to periwinkle's wedding, also
because that made sense in an odd way
if i were, i'd not have been making fun of it :)
periwinkle lives in this area, too, if i'm not mistaken
i knew periwinkle the babbler was uninvolved, but was startled to hear the f word applied to periwinkle
her periwinkle icon is quite lovely... a place that periwinkle should be.. on a flower
ooh- sorry to have used that word at al actualy
sorry about that
Tragic it could be worse it could be a fuschia pink 80s tulle number
saying periwinkle a lot makes you realize what a funny word it is
in a suit :)
oh "mochae", i am soooo sick of mocha
i'd almost ike that actually
my friend's ast name i just found out is swinkles
(she used her married name)
ok, i need to go and get ready for this damn shower
like so
http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2007/ specials/realweddings/bridesmaids/pink _dress3_340x490.jpg
I know that you want to wear this number
this is like my biggest nightmare...
my biggest nightmare is that scene from raiders of the lost ark...
of course you know if it WERE your biggest nightmare you would be in pretty good shape :-)
that and torture.
this is true jean
;-)
see, reality-checks like that are why i adore you
I think you should post a pic of you in that periwinkle suit dear
i can't get the pic lady!
lol
everyone's asking for it
dang
i don't know that there will be any pics of me in it... but if there are, i'll post them
google um
i have great cufflinks, i'll gladly take a pic of my arm for ya'll
my most recurrent nightmare is this trying to catch my flight but i'm naked running through the airport, thingy... not my biggest nightmare, but my most recurrent one
does anybody sleep?
:) that was brilliant lid
i don't really shdy, wb :)
being naked on an escalator is pretty funny, though
http://www.liketotally80s.com/ i am affraid
ok, i at least have to get dressed... smal steps... brb
with a rolling suitcase
seems like same people as last nite!
but no clothes
lmao- at least you don't have to worry about getting caught in the escalator if you're naked
its the little bits and pieces and that you have to worry about, though
glow worms!!!!
i loved the 80s
sigh
lol lid.
where in philly are you?
get dressed you!
i'm in germantown
i don't want to!!!
sigh.... fine... be back in a few
very good
i'm in NE- mayfair
Eyes on you, tragic, Chestnut Hill is just a few streets away...
Sleep? Why sleep when there's a grid to finish?
hey let's hear it for the delaware valley gang!
Hoot, hoot, TO!
Remember it could be pink
in the nice part of Mayfair (if there is such a thing)- West Mayfair
do we all have to talk with thick philadelphia accents now and say wudder, etc?
I stay mainly NW, lideola, I'd have to look up Mayfair
Not if you're from somewhaya else! (like New Hampsha)
ok i will never forget when i had the cheesestak icon and jacs was horrified by "wiz wit"
Proud to say i still own a lace bolero Jacket
cheessesteak!!! Pat's or geno's?
hey dorens! neither but of the two, genos
Geno's!!! (the eenglleesh only, pleez...)
of course, i DO order in english ; )
I alway's liked Pat's-- better rolls (imho)
LOL went to the ball game two weeks ago and someone had a t shirt to that effect
Yeah, they use Sarcones bread, right?
oh do you mean this?
http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/
it must be!
<looking sheepishly>- I actually don't like either... I have a local place called Gino's that has the best I've had... followed by Frusco's
mmmm, cheesesteak wid...
ok i like vincent's in rockledge
yup, tjat
my husband grew up in Rydal, so I am sure he is familliar with Vincents
that's it herein.... of course, I moved from Philly in 73, have no idea what's good now
I am an aussie so im a tad non idea what you meant
s'okay, lideola, just because they ain't famous don't mean it ain't good!
oooh now i am hungry!
i had d'allesandros once
How about Jim's Steaks, 4th & South? Line goes forever, BUT worth the wait
I used to work at schlotzsky's melbourne store they were rude
dorens, have you had a steak since then?
:(
the website you found, herein... the recipe is there (I can't believe I like anythng with cheesewiz!)
i have to go now
i visited once in a while and went back down to Pat's. but I don't get them up here, they just aren't the same, are they?
well i did jim's. it's ok. they had a branch at the roosevelt mall but not sure it's still oppen.
You loook mmaaahhhhvehlous, tragic! Enjoy!!
have fun stud!
by stud
Good morning all!
it is TO- i pass by whenever I go to the library every 3 weeks
wow- a lot of us are right around here...
bye stud
lol thanks jbs
and jean...
morning nonnie
bye dorens
Your talk of cheesesteaks is making me hungrey and slightly jealous!
Herin, I've had Schlotsky's in Tennessee- definitely good stuff, and nice people
whimper....
hello ore!
place neaar cottman and bustelton supposed to be good - i thinkit's jim's prince or kingof steaks. there is so much royalty associated with this sandwich
Hello Lore
owl have you ever had one in north jersey that was worth the calories?
oops, sorry *lore!
I hate schlotzskys for what they did to us
hey herin
Yes, its there TO...
so drens how is school? i was in nj last weekend
no worries nonnie
what are schlotzskys
school is great, except they're doing a renovation project and construction workers are all over the place... noisy and messy. but it's good to be back. how's your dad?
Love the conversation, but must go. Hope there's a cheesesteak in your recent future! *poof*
dorens, i wouldn't DREAM of getting one anywhere else.
bye jbs!
ok philly babble meet to discover the best cheesestaek!
bye jbs
i found a place in Orange County when I lived in San Diego that had a pretty decent cheesesteak... but when you are jonesing for a cheesesteak- it was EXCELLENT. They even had tasteykakes and franks soda
nonnie, check out the website herein put down and follow the recipe
good morning guys. i have a cheesesteak recommendation- tony lucs
bye jb
Schlotzsky's Deli is a sandwich place
emmmm....I wish I lived in Philly! We have to make our own cheesesteaks.
hey abe! never had aa steak there, only roast beef/pork
we have schlotzsky's
how about in ny, abe? any good cheesesteaks there? (and what are your credentials, have you lived in philly?)
and when it went to court they tried to say that they were 'not helped by the usa store' which was bull they never paid their taxes our wages or our superannuation
i saw tony luc go up against bobby flay in a throwdown... it was funny. i've never actually had tony lucs
Thanks, Dorens...I will. We do already attempt our own and they satisfy the urge :o)
Nonnie- is the meat chopped or all one piece?
hey temple!- i had the chicken steak, which was extremely good (as were the bacon fries). hey dorens- my credentials are a bit weak- we try a different place everytime we go to philly
well, at least you go to philly for them.. that's good cedentials
lideola- we saw that throwdown show too, that's why we wanted to try it. dorens- as for ny, no good recommendations here!
nonnie, just make sure that you slice it really, really thin
dorens, while traveling for work we see cheesestaeks everywhere! it would be neat to try one in each city
and NO GREEN PEPPERS! everytime i see a "Philly Steak and Cheese Sandwich" outside the area, they always have green peppers... NO WAY
mmmm bcaon fries - with cheese?
don't waste the calories, TO- you will be disappointed
lideola how about a pepperoni steak?
and ranch dressing on the side. ...
lideola- i agree with you about the peppers
thats fine... pepperoni is cool if you want it
or a cheesesteak hoagie?
my husband likes those
brb must check dryer. hoping its done so i can go get lunch : )
ranch dressing on the side??
you guys have defiinitely piqued my appetite
ok dorens, if you come here must try them out
it's dangerous. there must be about 5000 calories in those fries
will get there one of these days......maybe the day you get all the other philly babblers together
Do you know i even wrote to the american store (main store) no response
gotta go get the kiddies ready for the day and get the traler packed up for a gig this afternoon
dorens, was there supposed to be a cheesesteak recipe on the site and if so where? All I saw was 80's stuff!
gig?
see you later, lideola
http://www.patskingofsteaks.com/recipe .htm
ah, ty
later, lideola. maybe we can meet for steaks some time! i work in lawncrest
Dare I ask what are bacon fries?
i get a visin of fries with whiz and bacon
they are fries, well done, with bacon (real, not bits) and mozz. cheese melted on top. side of ranch.
pretty damn decadent
no. needs whiz.
You cant be serious that cheese wizz is used (ewww that stuff is feral)
it really is herin. i think i used to ask for provolone
well as we say here. fu**** a it is
it was definitely a one time thing. herin- whizz is actually good on cheesesteak, believe it or not. may also be good on the fries...
don't know if i could hack it on fries. but mozzarella is another thing.
brb dryer
ok but its so salty and blerr (me making yak noise) Give me T.G.I.Fs cheese (mongomery jack) any day
then again i cant talk i like vegimite and peanut butter together in a sandwich
i'm very hungry now...
My recipe is very similar to Pat's but I use butter (oh my) instead of oil to sear the meat and fry the onions and veggies. I slather mayonnaise on the roll--no catsup and provolone tops ours.
epps its nearly 1am here
Nonnie- do you mix the butter with oil or use straight butter?
I think I know what we're having for dinner tonight.
probably tastes good nonnie, i just don't see the mayo, but then again i don't see that on hamburgers either
I like the turkey burgers that monkey told me about
Straight butter and not too much...like a pat for each sandwich.
i eat turkey burgers, veggie burgers, and will eat beef on occasion
Did you know that today was Scrabblers Birthday?
I enjoy turkey burgers as well, with worcheshire sauce in them
I'm back to give this another go.... Philly Cheesesteak... YUM!!
ooh you are making me so hungry.
yup. worcestshire sauce makes them better abe... what else do you put in them?
for me it's turkey nd mustard, but then I'm from Brooklyn
hi bichon!
Turkey and home made tomato sweet chilli jam (sauce)
bichon, that's me too... mustard. as well
hello bichon
oh we need a ny metro babble meet
hi lore!
egg (for thickening), chopped onion, thyme, rosemary
I also know what i'm having for dinner tonight!

hey hurshy, how is your job?
my job is good, i like it, though i wish for more time off, lol
you just can't win. i was in the school world and that was way too MUCH time off for me, i got so bored in the summer...
how much do you have?
how do we start a grassroots movement for 4 day workweeks?
oh, there are 8 holidays the company observes, i have 10 vacation days, 3 sick days, 2 personal days.
well what about alternative schedules? like 9 hours days with an extra day every other week?
well, i just got THIS job, i can't go off looking for something else, lol
no silly goose i mean at your current job? does it lend itself to alternate work schedules?
oh, no, well, for the rest of the people, but not for me cause i'm the receptionist.
need a clue for the first ar5/12 word please?
gr6/14 please?
i don't think 9 hours a day would work for me anyway. the trouble is that i just don't have as much oomph as a normal person.
ar 5/12 = often present palm plant
gr5/16 lisp at the end
good morning/afternoon everyone :)
i do it. some do 10 hour days.
hi cyber
thanks TO, not familiar with palms
i used to do 14 hour days. Joy!
gee hursh i tried that let me try again
yes but i feel completely wiped after my 9-5 and feel like i don't really exist until the weekends. can't think about any personal practical stuff weeknights, like chores, food, etc.
even trying to eat a balanced diet, get exercise, and remember to floss, kind of overwhelms me.
hm do you walk during lunchtimeor at night? or work out?
still feeling depressed?
i have been trying to walk either get up early and do it or when i get home. at lunch was too hot in the summer and you can't shower after...
8bangs head on desk to pound hurshy's clue into brain*
i was actually happy for a week or two there ata
i'm going to wean back on my meds, we decided.
oh yayyy! was just wondering because one of the ways I can tell I have to be careful with depression is tiredness like that
uh hurshy...i thought it was decided to let a dr hlep you work that out
and hi ata!
Fireworks for me Hurshy nice icon gidday Ata
so yeah, if you go back on your tabs that might well help with absolute exhaustion / zombieness after work

going off to send Scrabbler a birthday greeting bbl
yay lore! hurshy are you sure you gavce me the clue for the right word?
gr5/16 right?
WTG Loredana
oh did you mean the earlier one?
it is by gr5 we have been saved, through faith, and not of ourselves, so that no one may boast
no gr6/24. naughty hurshy!
aha - scrolled back
you put 6/14
lol
i put a lisp on the terrific word before it
I'm back. Hurshy dear, I know you know this, but grief, depression, letting go, residual anger, etc. takes a HUGE toll health and energy-wise, and can take a couple years after a separation / divorce before you feel perky again. Glad to hear you're on the meds and taking it as easy as you can (hugs). I'm back on the prescription anti-depressants since May, and they have made a difference :)
hurshy is gr6/24 to give whatever clue she wants!
ok so, 6/24, there's to do something free
and it did not work : /
and jordan was one of the all time gr6
oh i thought i already had that one...sometimes i seeth word and think i typed it when i didn't. ty

i like lweis
thought you'd gone :P
: P *poof*
funnily enough we hardly ever have dollars or pounds
euros are ok though
thats true! thats discrimination!
and pounds would be a word anyway for weight
it's not discrimination, it's a threshold.
May I please have a clue for the Gr 6,24 ? <after 5,14 ; wonderful ; > I know it was clued but I didn't get it !
if a certain percent of the world's business is conducted in a currency, then i will allow it to be non-proper.
gr 6/24: latin free
pounds is uk currency tyvm! LOL
pl, kris
got that one
Kristin gr6/24 - something for free

i'm ok
thanks cyber....duh
living in a trash can?
yes he is funny
i really enjoyed him
he was my fave char on sesame st.
and i have continued this pattern by loving simon cowell and dr. house.
understandable... you are drawn to misanthropes
yeah. that's probably why i never loved my husband, he is much too good.
Morning, all! By those standards, Hurshy, your favorite Star Trek character must have been "Q".
ah, Q...
completely understandable, hursh
i never did understand why picard got SO uptight about him
LOL Judi! That's great! Or Worf :)
i mean i love jean luc, i adore jean luc, but, come on, lighten up, Q's fun.
worf isn't a misanthrope, he's just prickly.
Ah, Picard did have a tighter than average sphincter.
i really think worf is more akin to monk. he likes things the way he likes them and doesn't really fit in.
I always apprecited that about Worf :D
Speaking of Star Trek, Hilarious Clinton borrowed a Trek quote the other day. She referred to Bush's policy in Iraq as "cowboy diplomacy".
have to go for the list -- have no idea what I'm missing!
i think cowboy diplomacy was a term before trek, wasn't it?
Probably because OCD connects me to them! :D Good one, Judi
wasn't that a term back in reagan days?
hmmm, trying to picture Monk eating gagh, can't do it :D
of course, startrek predates reagan
What a way to start the day! I find myself fascinated by hursh's taste in men.
the question is, what kind of women are misanthropes attracted to?
Good point, Dorens. I'm not sure of the origin of cowboy diplomacy, but I do remember it from one of the Trek "cross-over" movies.
i think the term goes back closer to cowboy days
good question. i would imagine misanthropic women,, but it would be hard for them to discover the misanthropy in the woman before their natural antipathy sets in
ac 6?
Misanthropes like House are doubtless attracted to strong, capable women --- for the obvious reason: misanthropes are not capable of handling their own emotional landscape, much less someone else's.
that is my trouble, perhaps, then. i am not misanthropic enough.
i like ch1212's idea better
judi, earlier there was a big conversation about philly cheesesteaks with a consideration of a philly meeting... would you be interested?
i am getting stronger so i could be that
i think ch12 has it there
Well, I could do a Philly meeting, although I'm not a cheesesteak eater.
will keep that in mind. (cheesesteaks are not mandatory)
can you beam judi's cheesesteak to RI and i'll eat it?
On the flip side of course, is that occasionally 'strong capable women' are only masking, and choosing misanthropes for the same reason --- it's emotionally safe to be in a relationship where he cannot possibly be truly intimate or present. ...
ac 6, please?
I speak from experience in my own misguided youth :)
th 6/21 clue anyone
oh it's hopeless, i may as well just forget about it
you got it, hurshy
sorry rurocks -- don't have it
Hmm. Trying to think of an example of a misanthropic relationship. Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston come to mind. Although, I think drugs skewed the situation considerably.
so weird I easily get the 7's and can't find the 6 or the 5's... frustrating
{{ hurshy }} It's probably the best thing for you to stick with us anyway -- you probably have heard it's not a good idea to get involved with anyone (misanthropic or otherwise) for at least a year. But we're always here!
love is imossible for me, i may as well just accept it
Mike Tyson and what's-her-name.
help, please!!!!! ac 6?
Oh, Hurshy! Never say love is impossible. Love is inevitable!
th 6,21 = th 4,5 + **e you going to get this clue or **ent you ?
Me and my first husband! :D I stayed single for almost 17 years after him, and good thing too -- I eventually learned to love me.
i dont even have the Ac 4 nan lol
Oh Judi, I like that!! "Love is Inevitable" -- I really like that!
pimples, kris
well my husband still loves me, and i don't love him. the person i love, i don't know if he loves me or not, but probably not. and i don't think i will ever find anyone else, i'm too picky.
oh my word ty nan
ac 6...ac +not out and how **e you? this is for nan
and i don't care, so there.
Well, we all love you, hurshy (in a wonderfully platonic way, of course!)
oops, two words in one sentence.
I believe it, ch1212. People just try too hard to find it some times. Sooner or later, it will sneak up behind you and taps you on the shoulder. So, you best be paying attentino.
ar7 please
got it thank you Kristine
{{{hurshy}}}...we are here for you
ty annie
ty ch. i got a mitty on me so that's good too.
That's what finally happened with me, after 17 years. Dear old friend of many years suddenly looked different, and me to him, and tomorrow we celebrate our third wedding anniversary!
glad you got it, nan
So, Hurshy.... who do you love? Is this person available for shoulder tapping?
the person is living 2000 miles away.
ar 7: Mr. Onassis + part of America
hi mitten kitten!
So, it would be a long distance shoulder tap. That doesn't answer my question.
i don't know judi. it's complicated.
part of america cyber?
america has 50 parts
what happened to the cute deckhand?
yep -- 50 of them
but we also have DC and puerto rico
eh, cute deckhand. i don't really see him. it doesn't matter.
awww
he was probably too nice for me anyway.
Pooh on complicated. Anything worth pursuing is complicated. (I'm full of cliches today - stop me before I expound again).
oH DUH......I get it sorry I am so slow today
that's the 8 cybernan, though I needed that too, what about the ar7
thanks a lot
yes but guys often don't like being pursued. they don't like clingy. treading carefully is necessary.
take out the letter before the last one pab
nevermind
especially with guys with misanthropic tendencies.
AHHHHG! Stop the boat! Self-esteem overboard! *throws Hurshy a life line*
Hi everybody
it's not self-esteem
i just can't fall in love with a guy who's too good
*dialing Dr. Phil*
May I please have a clue for the Tr 6 ?
clue for the wi8 that isn't the desperate housewives street?
there are 2 dan one vowel off
no, i think it makes sense. if a guy hasn't had troubles or isn't emotionally complex, then how can he understand me?
teh second vowel differs
dan, change the second vowel
ah tx annie & kristine
Kris, tr6 ---hypnosis puts you in this
the Tr is what physic (fakes go into)
why cant i get the easy ones ty Annie and ruru
ba 6?
Most guys don't talk about their troubles, nor do they usually project emotional complexity. You have to get them to let their guard down a little.
why am i always stuck with 2 fours at the end?
ba6 please
dont have that one, pab
was answering Kris
my sentiments exactly Kris I get the hard ones and miss the easiest even though they are right infront of my nose.
why do i bother doing these grids ? lol
anyway, i think the thing is that i can't "look for someone", maybe it works for some people but not me. i fell head over heels one time, and if it doesn't work out with him, that's that, and if i don't happen to experience that again, i don't want to settle for boring, i've done that already.
you find someone when you stop looking. cliche but so so true
*nodding* You shouldn't settle for boring and safe.
ba6 - ba + ritual
ty dan
argh every time i go to type i find i am about to use a grid word
Hi all
*jumps* it's the real periwinkle
Hi, Peri!
thanks dan
c6 please, the first one?
theres a fake one?
hurshy, I think we were playing weboggle together yesterday, late afternoon, early evening
was there a fake periwinkle around earlier?
yes indeed peri
really?
we were talking about the color periwinkle earlier today, ata, and it was very disconcerting.
flosey, it's the plural to the 5 above it
why was it disconcerting, hursh?
BBL.
ok when i said yes indeed i was referring to weboggle
thanks ch, but there's nothing above it, it's the first ce word
last ce6 please
okay :-) we won several games too!!
unless you meant the second c6 -- that extends your 4/5 above it, then add a latin ending for the 7.
the last ca7 please
because people said things like "f---ing periwinkle" and "i don't think periwinkle was ever in style"
oh my, that wasn't very nice
oh, first c word is a c5, not 6. That is the same as the 2nd ca5 word, only with a different second vowel.
but they didn't mean YOU! lol
last ce 6?
sorry, meant the first ce6, I've been staring at this too long
I know, hurshy but you have defended me would'nt you
ah... first ce6 -- sounds like a kind of knife. ce + r4
peri, nobody would ever say such things about you! it's inconceivable.

ty bubba
ce + ceremony, nan.. howdy all
i don't like babies, that's one of my prickles.
hey Aloy
babies are okay as long as they belong to someone else :-)
even then. they're so boring.
depends on the baby hurshy
other women see baby clothes and find them cute, even many women who don't want their own children. i don't get it. they're just small clothes. this makes sense as they are for small people.
a baby inspires nothing in me but mild distaste.
LOL hursh
May I pelase have a clue for the Ae 6 ??
ty aloy
clue for the second ca7 please?

OUCH!! I broke my patella tripping over a doxy 13 years ago... knee pain stinks
I've been going to someone for a year with this knee pain. done cartilage injections, cortisone injections and finally MRI.
MRI and X-rays showed nothing wrong so he kept saying just do these exercises. It hurt too much to do the exercises, so went for 2nd opinion.
I'm having my surgeon send a copy of the operating report to the other doctor.
I feel for you! I have learned to stand up for myself with Drs
same thing happened to me, doxy. *third* opinion eventually revealed the back of my kneecap had disintegrated and chips of bone were all over the place in muscles
I've had doctors blow me off, I've left their practice. They will learn not to blow me off.
ouch ata.
Good for You! I had spine surgery last year.. The Dr I chose was my 5th one!
amazing what they don't see sometimes, isn't it!
or dont want to answer questions
my surgeon told me that MRI's only pick up 85% of problems, its just the best we have.
I heard that too
th7/36, please?
the ACL had so much scar tissue around it, we are not sure if this will fix the problem. I may still have to go back in for ACL repair.

My joints dislocate on their own so I knew what was wrong but he didn;t believe me.. I went back to my spine Dr and he explained th exrays, MRI and said I was right

Hi, jac
The mother of one of my patients. 37 yrs old, with breast cancer since shortly after the boy was born. He is 7 and SO cute and sweet. He has never known his mom to not be sick. In the casket she had a baseball cap on--"CANCER SUCKS".
the REASON they are happy is because i take such good care of them. marty is extra happy i think, because he is madly in love with his momma. we have a pair bond.
Thank you all.
so wait, sc, they didn't warn him?
Aw, Scrabbs. Sorry to he4 that.

Hi, jilli.
morning everyone :)
later lady! have a gr5 picinic!
the thought of actually having the kids grow up without you there as a constant and positive influence is difficult to grasp... then the actual act of sitting down and having to map out what type of future you want them to have- schooling, care, etc, just so you still have some influence and say after you are gone is hard
have fun herin
in midst of cooking much food for company tomorrow. hi again
bye, herin
good morning, mrp!
'Bye, Herin. Hope the picnic pest don't bother you!
MRP! hi there! how is the arm? how are the kids? how are you?
i think there is something wrong with this Firm
hi mrp!
Does anyone make cold chinese sesame noodles? The recipe I usually use calls for smooth peanut butter, i only have chunky. Tell me I don't have to go out to the store, please

Hello, MrP.

You don't have to go out Dorens ;)
man, how many different anagrams of five letters can one make? (rhetorical question, turns out it's a mathematical miracle... endless!)
and if you don't like the chunky- you can always strain the sauce when done
Blimey, MrP!
Hi, TO

Congrats, Dorens!!
what grade does your Mom teach stid/
jilli - I can't help it if the filing cabinets of my brain are full of 'interesting' facts! LOL
YAY Dorens!
first grade muse, it's her last year before retirement
(Though, jilli, I do have to admit that charging up and down the metal ladders of my brain to reach the higher drawers of said filing cabinets gets more difficult as the years go by.)
a nice grade too! they are so cute
I am thinking of sneaking into her house and snagging a pic of her from her first year teaching... she had cat glasses!
Retirement...what a lovely word!
I was just going to ask, stid -- I though stidgmere was retiring
lol jac
cat glasses? Pointy ones like Dame Edna??
oh do, stid! Cat glasses!
yep. I don't remember if there were rhinestones...
Oh how I love Dame Edna
dame edna is gorgeous! funny to boot
Now -- I have 40 to go -- shall I bother?
do jill do

oh yes jilli!
Yes, jilli. We'll help.
Isn't "she" an Aussie? And why didn't I think of "her" for today's icon?
Mr. Humphries is indeed an 'Aussie'.
Or is it Humphreys?
yes, perfect icon for today, I will go put her on
MrP - Dame Edna with a lime hat?

AK, Hi. 1st na5 = na + N. Ireland bombers.
Help with ac 6,21 please then I can go to bed!
y ty jac
Hi all
hello artlady!
found it !!
PMS - ac6/21 = ac + personal pronoun + anagram of what the runner did.
hello art :)
Hi, art!
ty Jacula
Well done, PMS. Fireworks? *~*~*~*~*~*~*
ty jac
congrats!
first ra 5/12 anyone
ak - first ra5/12 rhymes with ' in adv****' (before time).
ty jac
MrP - Have you clicked on my icon yet?
up for a bit of air -- those 2nd and 3rd re5/12s were bummers ;)
ah didi not ever think of going in that direction ty
jilli - they are simply purals of muscles. LOL
re5/6 combo is to label again, btw.
oh how exciting! I finally spent my amex gift card!!!! and 6 books are being sent to me from the US
LOL jacs! ROFL!
ak - many times I find a 4-letter word in one direction but don't see the simple plural until later because you arrive at it via another direction. That's Babble!
i often get stuck going only in one direction and forget to go the other way.
MrP - Very ni4, but did I not see you say earlier that the shipping cost was about $100?
for books from the US? wow!
yes jac, it WAS, but it is now $44 as it is coming from only 2 stores now, not 8 LOL!
shipping is so darn expensive! that is why the books are cheap, they make up the profits in shipping
I went and bought 4 more books today... I didn't mean to... honest! But the hardbacks were 3 for £5 and the paperbacks the same (but I only wanted one paperback...at £1.99 it was a snip anyway.)
MrP - I'm not sure how this si4 would work out for you in the Antipodes but the si4 I use for books I buy online he4 in UK is play.com
The site works very ni4ly for us, he4 because it's based in Jersey where there is no Value Added Tax (VAT). The books are cheaper than in the shops and the si4 charges no postage.
st 6/21 the first one please
that is excellent pricing jac!
MrP -- I sent for a paperback by a relative (David Clunies-Ross -- I've never met him) to Australia's Abbey's Bookshop and it ended up cost ing over $60!
books are very expensive here, it is totally annoying to pay$50-60 for hardbacks
ak - st + thespian + 2nd vowel.
yes jilli! it is a ripoff
I started using my library because the books keep accumulating.
You should see my mother's place! It's a library in itself!
st 5/10 before to st4 the pot please?
it5?
to 'have' to buy books from the US to save 50% is amazing to me. The books I purchased would have cost $30 each on average.
odd word jac
nm, got it!
artlady, what is a house, but a library.
TO - st5/10 = st + are 3-letter old-fashioned word for 'before'.
mine and my mother's both are lined with bookshelves
ty! a fiwsh worthy word
I'm having a hard time selling my book on Gt Danes because it's pretty big and weighs 3 lbs so the postage is exorbitant and goes up each year -- now about $20!
My mother's bookshelves are 4 books deep.
I want a library in my house, I have so many bloody books!! my reading list is coming along slowly but surely in goodreads
my mom's are too, mine are not there yet, not to mention that 4-deep hardbounds would be awkward.
art - I was beginning to think about going back to the library myself for same reason. However, I do love having books around. Got rid of about 17 boxes of them to charity shops recently, i.e. liberated them for others to read.
True, dc...hers are mostly paperbacks.
MrP -- just saw your Edna -- hilarious!
17 boxes, Jac!! That's a library in itself!
our great dame!
art - that wasn't even half my collection!
I have thousands of books.
ok, R words done, on to the S lot
How's the foundation of your home, Jac??? Sturdy, I hope!
If I listed every one I've ever read or everyone I've ever owned on Goodreads, I wouldn't live long enought to review them all! LOL
ok fireworks video actually works now! Doob! Little rogue character snuck in there
sorry to bother, but couldd someon e please list the 8's? i have one word left, an 8, and i canot' figure it out
art - solid floors downstairs with a 40' raft of concrete below that.
ty lickety!
jilli- have you tried book rate and warning the buyer that it may take several weeks to get it? do you have bookrate in canada?
ar8, ba8,in8 x 3, it8, st8,wi8 x2
nm i have ar8, ba8, in8/x, it8, st8, and wi8
I had to put so many books in a garage sale when I moved -- still had 11 big boxes to send here. Now that I work in a library I rarely buy books -- and seldom have time to read them!
baren IS a word!! It's used in printmaking!
sorry....
hi all. back to finish last 64
Am I the only one he4 that GIVES books away??
thanks for the idea nbjasmine, but bookrate is not available here. Our postal rates are much higher than yours in the US.
TY jacs! fireworks!
you can send them to me jac!
Hi, doxy. Made that Irish stew yet??
congrats, TO!
2nd ar4/4 plz... cant. find. it.
I donate to schools, etc. However, I don't buy too many...I read my mother's!
Well done, TO./.. and y/w.
hello doxy!
congrats, TO!
my roommate has given away 800 books in the last 12 weeks, and has 400 more to donate
MrP... gladly... but the postage???
YAY TO!!! Now, back to the S words...
sorry, hi everyone. just rudely jumped in! don't mind me- thats the kind of kid i am.
dc - a reade after my own he5/12, I see!
honestly, how do you all find time to work, keep house, babble AND read?
the postage is a killer, just send it by sea... snail mail is cheap, and I will pay for it
welcome jasmine
Keep house???
keep house? what is that?? LOL
i hardly read anymore. i know the time i spend on babble would be reading time
nbjasmine, it was so good of you to try and help -- please stick around!
As you can see, however, my babbling is now limited to weekends...school started!
unlike him, i have growing collection. OTOH, i pointed buy hardbound 1st editions.
an 5 please
hi jac, too hot here. finally got to normal temps in low 80's. been high 90's and 100's all summer.
hi jasmine, you need an icon!
i am going now. see you all later!
oh well, dc -- you're a Collector!!!
same here, doxy, but for 1 week in Aug, which was lovely
bye bye TO, take care.
bye owl (hugs)
'Bye, TO.
hi doxy :)
aw, bye mr. p {hug}
ttfn TO
*waves to all* later!
MrP - re the books. Maybe I should e-mail you when I'm planning to shift a few and you can tell me what you'd like?
still 32 left...bfn
it's been really ni4 here this week. haven't had to use AC at all. just a fan.
that would be awesome!
bye jilli
I am happy to take books off anyones hands... :))
Can't even say, MrP., that I''' bring 'em over for you if we ever get to Aus., because of all the baggage restrictions now.
hi
hi herin
hello herin...back already? How was the picnic?
same here mrp. I love books
TO - the 'keeping house' goes by the wayside in favour of Babbling and reading... oh, and gardening.
I am using the other PC so i may have lag. No i am waiting for his royal highness to get out of the shower.
baggage restrictions are a bother... one suitcase! who can fit the kitchen sink in one suitcase?
ah, I thought you had left already!
OH i have an idea MR Pres -Goodreads maybe we can coment 'willing to send to another babbler if we want to swap book'
last word is an 5, any clues floating around?
No Nonneie he left the pc on (silly lad) and i am sneaking in a few words
lol herin
infern, logistically unsound, but nice idea :)
Exactly, MrP! I also object to having to take my shoes off at airports these days! It's such a bother getting up again after getting down there and then vice versa after they've 'gassed' the airport staff. LOL
a + not far
ever heard of bookcrossing.com? fun, interesting, and very nearly free (there are small products you can buy if you want to but don't have to). you can also indulge your literary critic by reviewing books on the site.
ty ty ty doxy... a piece of fudge and a flower for you
thanks aknitter, glad to help
Herin - goodreads already has that facility (for selling/swapping books). MrP's site is for the telling of stories.
eewwwww LOL!
Hey if i do want to send books on to fellow babblers then ill put that in my read books.
Ugh, I dislike the strip search they put a person through.
Which reminds me... I must put my headphones in soon and listen first to Sprite's reading and then to Mr P's childrens' readings.
NB yes i have. Sorry my bad i got confused (i am doing the homer doh thing right now)
infern, go check how much it 'costs' to send a book international
nbjasmine - Yes, I know the site. I'd prefer to know my books were being found, read and loved though.
hope you enjoy it jac! get your favourite passage ready to read as well, it is fun!
See Mr Pres if I am purging my books i dont care about cost to send as id rather them have good new home
Oh i have to do the listening to the Pres and sprite story telling (when my dang pc is behaving)
infern, you will care once you see how much it is to send to a new home
good evening, babbleonia!
hello folks
Oh i wonder if you can get Stidmama to do her stories on your site Mr Pres
mamabear!!! ((hugs))
hi feather and bear
hi mamabear
hi feather, how are you
{{{{hugs back}}}}}}
hello mamabear!
hi mama--great weather!
hi feather! :)
MAMABEAR (((((hugs)))))))))) Hello Feather and Art too
hiya feather!
hiya ak, doxy, herin, feather, anyone I missed
herin, I believe stid's story is available on babblestory.com
Hello, mamabear! (HUGS)
it is always nice to see you here mamabear!! we miss you!
Jilli i have seen that buut i wonder if we can get her to read it to us :)
oooh, children's reading mrp?
thanks mrp!!! I miss you guys too - life is a bother sometimes
jilli - I think Herin meant she wanted Stid to read the story to her.
hi jacula!
Did you realise that if it cant be fixed by duct tape its not worth fixing
hi mambear -- I'm struggling with the grid and just came up for a bit
Yep i want to her stid read her story
fireworks!
hi jilli!!!
oh, I see, jac -- as if stid had time!!!
infern, she has a site dedicated to her story telling
Herin - what? All of it? She'd have to do it in chapters then.
congrats brookie!
YAY Brookie!!! (you need an icon too)
congrats, Brookie
Well done, brookie.
Just a snipit that is all. Yah Brookie too
you been working hard mama??
nice icon, mrp - what happened to melon cat?
thanks to everyone for their clues! off to find an icon for my profile!
yup, mrp - long hours....
hi, again
Does anyone else thin of La Vyrle Simpson when they read Stid's story? I think it has a ring of that. It's sell, for sure.
I would love to do the story thing but my pc is poo (head phone jack broken) and the other pc is slow and crappy.
ok, I'm stuck on the si5/10s and I don't care how many fishes I get
Mama its nice to see you again
thank you herin!!
hello pam, welcome back.
oh, hi, mamabear. nice to see you - it's been a while
jilli - si5/10 no. 1 is an emergency vehicle sound or a temptress on the rocks for mariners.
I don't believe we've had the pleasure, dc... nice to meet you!!!
Mr Pres i promise that once i sort out my pcs issues that i will read the story on your babble reading
si5s, one's an indian instrument, the other is a loud warning sound
2nd si5/10 is an Indian plucked instrument. Ravi Shankar plays one.
ty dc
sure thing infern :)
does your local bookcrossing do the park/coffee shop/mall meetings where people go specifically to leave and find books? that way you know they are found and loved. i agree with you on that, and i love talking books with people. few things more satisfying!
tyvm -- I have a creel beside me for the fish I expect to collect
ROFLOL, jilli!
st8, please?
Ok as much as i love you lot i have a picnic waiting for me. NB i use the bookcrossing website
ok, herin...I hope you have a really nice time.
jasmine - due to various bombings he4 in UK, we are somewhat cautious about anything apparently just 'abandoned' anywhere. If you're not careful where you leave a package it may well cause an ''incident' and get blown up 'just in case' by the Bomb Squad.
st6/21 anybody?
Jilli - st + 'thespian' + 2nd vowel.
the te5/14 is escaping me entirely. anyone, pls?
ty jac -- what kind of a word is that? No addition to the creel
te + anagram for old cloth
how many words?
yes,, nonnie and I would both like the st8/40 please
ooo I can answer that one - 206 words!
206 elemce
thnks
jilli - st6 is a spice that was once used by the Jews for making incense.
LOL, mamabear!
ty, dan
jac, I'm sorry to say I'm not familiar with Jewish spices -- and my Jewish pals aren't particularly spicy lol
dc - you should be thankful dan gave you the clue for that te and not me! I'd have sent you down the Latin route
I would also like the st 8/40 if anyone has it, please
latin might have gotten me there faster :)
is the jewish spice for st6 or st8???
st8 needers gathering here!
esp since the word parsed as amharic to me
Never mind, jilli, you can put that info in one of the files in your brain now and bring it out next time the grid does.
st8 - s + cup of t** + r4
Maybe we have to take a number? :o)
or a Jewish pal? I'd love to show off
good clue doxy! I was trying to figure out how to clue it myself
ty doxy!
yw
We're getting sillu again in he4, are we not? *grins*
*silly
tyvm doxy
yw jilli
oh yes, jac, getting silluer all the time
any clues for the gr5/14 before the coarse dirt?
sorry, dox, the r4 part of the clue eludes me--what does the word mean, please?
*Imagining jilli now with some kind of amazing Jewish pal whom she is showing off to her friends at her favourite gathering place* Mind boggles.
thanks for the clue, doxy, on the st 8
s + cup of t** + r + past tense of eat
yw pida
dc, it means really good
gr5/14 before the stony stuff... add a consonant at the end.
dc..goes in a mill
I have to get going here. Take care all!
thanks, doxy!!!!!!!!!!
ty, brookie, i need the 5/14 after the plural of that one.
yw pam
'Bye, Nonnie.
ty, artlady
Nononono, I have a very fun Jewish pal to whom I would like to show off, being vastly ignorant as she knows
rhymes with the part between your hand and your arm
What goes in the mill comes BEFORE the lumpy dirt.
Hi all
jacula- am familiar! my husband works at los alamos (nuclear parent lab). books in public, tho, are not usually a target for kabooming.
jilli - record her and put her on Youtube. LOL
...And then give all of us the link.
I wish, jac, that I knew how to do that!
BookThing in Baltimore rocks- leave what books you don't want, take what you do.
jilli - Ask Lickety. He can do it!
Jac, she's not even a babbler in any way!
Not a Babbler, jilli?? SHOCK! HORROR! Fair game then!
hi all
Oh, I am so wicked when my sleep is interrupted every 20 mins by hot flushes/flashes.;)
she's in the dark...enlighten her!
(about Babble, that is)
I just got our school secretary started... (snicker)
Actually the 'hot' episodes have been about every 20 mins all day, which is why I have not attempted sleeping yet. They were once every hour, on the hour.:(((((((
i'm down to 2 - the ar5/12s. Might i get some help, pls, i've been moneying with them for some time to no avail.
ugh, Jac. I'm still looking forward to that...late bloomer, I am
Another 'victim', art? OH, WELL DONE!
Misery does love company...
Oops, sorry, this is NOT misery!! ;-)
Babble is JOY, art!
fireworks, at last!
congrats, dc!
Well done, dcs!
the 5s really were hard for me today.
YEA DC!!!!!
art - where's your Mum tonight?
congrats dc
YAY dc (I was trying to compose clues)!!!
I don't know. Haven't talked to her...Oh wait, she's at an SCA thing..archery, I think
Society for Creative Anachronism, that os

I have to go and get supper before I'm totally sloshed on my vodka-on-the-rox -- 25 left
viola...i is ici
hiya, 'nut!! I'm on #10!!
you're plowing those books aren't you artlady?
Yes, and back to work full time too!
ty jili, but my monkey fu was strong enough this time. :)
oh yeah...time to teach not beach
my daughters came over to fix dinner for me. we are having BLT's.
Art - is she perhaps away calculating how many books you've stolen from her? Which reminds me... I know I told my daughter I couldn't get on with the angled eyebrow tweezers I'd recently purchased. I said I much preferred my old straight ones. However, you think she'd have asked before she pinched them, wouldn't you? Daughters! Who'd have 'em?
i love the angled tweezers better myself jacula
No, Jac. She waits for me to return them so she can file them. They're all organized. Then, when I am too slow returning one it messes up her system!
My daughter's gone to wax...no tweezers for her!
Nut - I'm a left-hander and I see things straight! LOL
ok...tweezers are for maintenance between the wax at the salon...i can never make it look like they do.
When I have my eyebrows and moustache waxed I donate the ha4r to Locks for Love.
Glad ou're he4, Nut, as I wan't to ask you what the dare to compare thing is about on Babblecast. Dare to compare you to Jade? Compare short men to small men? Big ones to small ones? What???
The price of beauty, 'nut. I just go au naturale...of course, I don't have dark brows!
jac...you dare me to do something silly or stupid (but not illegal) and i will record it and post it
i've only had a couple dares sent so far
do I dare to eat a peach?...
you can dare to eat a peach...if i can find one around here
i'm sure if the dare isn't silly enough for me...i'll = er - spice it iup
do i dare disturb the universe?...
ok...it's from T.S. Eliot..sorry.
is that from the one ten miles long?
ag5,14 please?
Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock
wow, we're having quite the lightning here.
feather, as usual, it's everywhere but here
I deal with my own brows and any facial ha4 that may or m,ay not be becoming a nuisance in this, my 50th year. Also deal with my own nails. Other half deals anything else that needs shaving, removing or whatever. I will not discourage him in that... if he thinks he can do it better than I can... and he's kneeling at my feet wearing only a towel around his waist.
eyebrows? darn, i knew i'd forgotten about something these past few months...
lol!
Well, you've been busy, feather!
There was a huge black mass in the sky here at about 6:30 PM, so it probably picked up power while it came towards you, feather.
at one point (back in June i think) i was good about tweezing...
art, roll your trousers and take a walk on the beach....
i cound my salon time as me time. the girls there are fun. i can get a wax, nails, hair done, and a massage all in one lovely place.
art - there is the occasional uninvited long neck ha4, too.
Fireworks
it's a weird storm. very bright long lightning, but the thunder rumbles are very distant. kind of cool.
Yahooo for Doxy!
count not cound
congrats, doxy!
I love thunderstorms!
and :o at jac!
thunderstorms make me giddy
ag5 anyone?
i like the storms like this....distant.
ag5,14 sang*** spanish wine
Nut - your salon's no fun! It's girls only and not at home.
Fireworks
you all crack me up!!! With PCOS, h4/5 can be the bane of my existence
TY, Paintguy--is your real name Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore?
you are probably getting the thunderstorms we had earlier this week
im with the latter
Well done, doxy!
You got fireworks a second time, Doxy? Just because you are taking opiates for analgesia doesn't mean you get fireworks twice.
jac...as i have a stay at home husband...my salon time IS fun. it's the me time...the no guy hanging around and not leaving you alone cause he's been alone all day place.
yay, dox!
ar6,7, & 8 please
see you all later. my daughters have fixed dinner for me. early for tomorrow, scrabs. bye for now
I hope those storms come East, feather!
I have that, 'nut. I work during the day, come home to rest and hubby wants entertainment... he's home and bored!
OK, Pam, I am blowing them easterly to you.
i'll blow on em a little pam, see if that helps push them
lol, oh scrabs, stop reading my mind!
zactly artlady...this role reversal isn't all its cracked up to be
LOLOL, thanks!
Oh, nut, re the guy thing re beauty. Okay.
Come on, feather, let's blow the rain clouds to Pam!!
hear hear! I want some me space at home sometimes...altho best be careful what I wish for!
thought you'd see my point jac
*whoooooooooosh*
yes artlady!
ar 6 7 & 8 letters 3, 4 & 5 letters the same, pr***ine, pure
*pant pant* too far for me to have much effect...sorry!
ar 6 & 7 end in vowels
->>>>>>>>>>> strong easterly moving winds surprise the National Weather Service! New forecast needed for Massachusetts.
I understand 'me time' and I have to take that every day for fear of becoming mad otherwise (mad as in mental). But, since all of us in this house feel that way, not a problem.
Thanks, Scrabbler!

hi any clues for the ea 5,10 please?
I can't believe how good a man in makeup can look, and I love the loose, 'I'd be a hero if it wasn't almost blooody impossible' take on it. It reminds me of my man - thingsa mount up, things get scarey, but he surmounts them somehow and arrives back to me victorious, sometimes, with stubble. I LOVE him (and Johnny Depp)/
the consonant-filled ones often are tough. the vowel clusteer today made it no easier
ea 5/10 someone who ea*s (as in food)
angel, someone who ea4
tx can't believe i missed that
lol
you must bite ;)
lol
gr 5/16 anyone?
However, mhy man doesn't wear makeup... YET! *Note to self... get the kohl pencil out when he is feeling all loving, weak and vulnerable...
gr 5/16 would be what someone with dyslexia might spell a term referring to your waist
