hi mrp!
good eve mrp happy babbling
hi pres!
Hi, mrp!
greeting pres
hi, mrp!
hi ornith kiwi monkey jellen jovejoy dcs et al... having that x in the middle is confusing me LOL
the X is useful, and used more than expected
tons of ax's
indeed
I am not getting those de 7s and 8.
the X confuses me a little, since most words i know with X in them are Catalan, and not English.
ah yes, rebaixes! about the only Catalan word I know; I visited Barcelona and it was in the windows of all the stores
most Js in Spanish become Xs or IXs in Catalan
caixa, planxa, reloix
don't know all those words in Spanish either, heh
oh, wait, j->ix. now I recognize at least one
i lived in Spain when i was young, and spent some vacation in Barcelona.
geez, I've never seen an X used this much. two X's, tons of ax's, some d's and at least one f use it...
this X's is a name of flower
there's an LL in here too!!
and no llamas to be found lol
ll*** estacado, it's a region in Texas
spanish for a plain

Off for some breakfast - back later
FM, just read your story, very touching
and Fm
I already kicked your sweet little behind, FMitch, so no reason anymore to shun this time of day...
last call for clues
hi sprite!
none for me, thanks ornith!
Ata! I left you some messages about GW...
Hi, sprite
lol sprite very funny :)
got val back :)
Thanks, Ornith, but I have too far to go. . .
that's cause you do the hard ones first, lol
FM very touching i had friends that were New York fireman on duty that day. That day i broke the bandwidth on the home pc talking to my usa friends
time for me to go, good luck all, bbl
YAYYYYYY! Wanna tell me about it on msn?

night orinth
Hi and by MVA and night Ornith
:P right back at ye!
ata, sprite and i were talking about you the other day
(that's what I get for spamming Anet until they listened to you :P)
oh lol, yes we were.
there was a marine biology word and you were part of the clue.
ooooo! should I be worried?
cooool!
sprite got the word right away. :-)
blah. coming to a halt now
Now thats babble status - to be part of a clue :)
about not telling me about GW, yes. About the talking: no, not at all. Fran clued a word like: a real Ata word, or Ata would know the meaning I am sure. And I just knew the word from that, LOL.
absolutely, FMitch!
whew. fireworks
yay freep!!
wtg freep!
Congrats, freep!
yah Freep
Congrats freep
what was the word??
tekton
nekton
oh yeah, nekton
coooool! thats a good word
question
freep didnt know that word, btw
and of course you know it. :-)
yup!
but now you do freep!
*contemplates grid .. looks out the window yawning ... wonders if Haz has managed to get her PC fixed yet?
it is plankton with a will of its own!
gee sorry to bore you FM
contemplating will get you nowhere, FMitch, get to work!
Does recognizing it as vaguely familiar count as knowing a word?
:-), of course jellen!
in babble, knowing it enough to monkey it suffices.
Yes M'am - saluting towards sprite *grin* *Holds nose and jumps in*
though I admit I miss Haz too.
I miss Pink
i didn't realize she was having computer trouble
if sended is a word, so should eated.
but that makes sense sprite, and we all know that's not how enable works.
hello Sprite
tireder is the one I still can't get over
my brain is broken and no one on the system caes
cares even
owwwww silly me, you are too right, Fran. Hey lynxxx :)
oh lol, yes, tireder was stooopid too.
we care infernal.
brain is not broken, lady, just highly original and with a mind of its own :)
system that i just rang up doesnt so i have to think what im going to do next. Oh and this is hard is
well, i'm actually tireder that I should be, so night all...
night freep!
g'nite freep
g'night, freep
someone sended you to bed, freep? Sleep weller and be restier in the morning !
Hello lynxxx
do you ever write a word down and then look at it thinking, "that can't be the right spelling."
Fran all the time
good morning FM !
even though it is the right spelling and it's a word you use all the time?
yep
frequently
Fran, when I started working at an office, I once mistyped 'sincerely'. I looked at it, knew it was wrong and couldn't come up with the correct spelling. Has been confusing me ever since :D
i just did that with "night"!!
so now I don't trust myself typing it, even if it is correctly spelled :)
lol Fran
and its ususlaly really simple words. I remember writing "cat" once and being sure it was wrong!
well, you're spelling it correctly sprite. :-)
lol ata!
not without checking twice, Fran, lol
Hi Atal
hi lynxxx!
I've overstayed my planned departure time, as usual.
I don't mind, Jellen :)
You are part of the reason I stay, sprite!
oh wow! This early and I already have done something good today :)
really bugging phantoms: exile and elixer.
jellen, every good plan has room for change. let's just say you had to rethink your departure time.
So I could meet my Babble goals---yeah!
the problem with Jellen is, that for me every time she leaves is too early.
true sprite.
Awww! You all are too sweet!
"he makes a list, he chex it twice..."
bler
not only that, chex are a kind of cereal here.
BBS .... daughter finally doing her tax return (on this laptop)
later lynxxx!
bad timing of daughter, lyn ;)
Bye, lynxxx!
this is my favorite time to babble...the log isn't moving at 100 mph, not too many people asking for clues and i find more words without the list.
I have to admit, being able to feel smarter than a dictionary really brightens my mornings :)
absolutely Fran!
and the chat is nice and funny and interesting!
my sentiments too Fran
if you really think about it, if enable was more comprehensive the grids would all be over 300 words.
Shhhh :)
*very big grin*
:-)
my son says he wants to be a cook when he grows up! And he now wants to cook dinner... he did yesterday (I told him what to do, but did nothing myself) and it was delicious! Now my daughter wants to cook today... you think this will last? ;)
One can hope, sprite!
if he really enjoys it, it might be a lasting thing...cross your fingers.
how old are they sprite?
Hope for you it will Sprite
my son is 11, daughter is 9. And I have to admit, my son has been talking about wanting to be a cook for some time.
It took someone in the government 15 minutes to decide that my mental health is fine enough not to work for another 6months (note nearly 3 years of not working) and still they cant help me
i think it could last then, they're at the right age
it is so funny, my son demanded yesterday that we let him cook at least once a week. We said no, because we want it to remain fun and not become a chore. He was so pissed :)
i was cooking family meals at your son's age.
*hugs lady* That s*cks, darling.
I did too, Fran, but I hate it now...
Sprite im pinching your kids to cook for me :) Sounds wonderfully that they want to help
I wish I liked to cook. :-(
lol lady, I can imagine! They have always loved helping out in the kitchen, I have friends who actually ask THEM to come at a party because they love their help so much :)
I like cooking
I hate cooking. Well, not totally. But I hate having to cook every day.
Thats cute
I told a friends kid that cooking was the best as you can play with the food and no one gets mad
that's probably what it is for me too sprite, because i used to love doing dinner parties with my friends when i was single.
I still like cooking special meals, but that every day returning chore of thinking up something, shopping for it, making it... argh :(
I cook because my house mate is crap at cooking
Hi everyone!
Hi, Brookie
hi Brookie
hi brook!
By the way, I love to cook, but my fiance is much better at it than I am.
lucky woman!
my husband did cook dinner tonight, but i had to prep and cut everything up for him. (i'm faster)
I'm sure he appreciated that.
ok, why on earth is alinea not valid? Paragraph?
ok, I know now... it is dutch and not english. Darn.
An ex used to enjoy cooking and what he produced was great but .. he would insist on using every pot, pan and bowl in the kitchen.
darn, i tried it too, just because it sounds like it should be a word.
and let me guess...he wasn't good at cleaning up after?
you guessed it!
it IS a word. Just not english, lol. Fmitch, I think that is a man's thing. That and leaving all wrappings and peels etc on the sink.
urgh! do you know my husband sprite?
grin... I don't have the honour, Fran, but if he is anything like mine, the kitchen is a mess when dinner is ready. And we love them.
:-) I guess that's true sprite.
2 x X words? Need more tea. :(
I thought of xenofoob right away, but xeno does not work.
they're not too bad FM, they've been in the grid before and one is a plural.
sorry, an adjective form, not plural
Don't you get technical with me at this time of the morning!
I have he 8 la8 li 8 what am i missing please
ROFL!!
lol!
the xe5 sounds like a flower
ax8 and de8 infernal
thanks
ok FMitch, if you don't want to admit you have a tendency to be mean with Ks, you are in de****. Change first letter. Drop last letter.
Mmwah! thanks spritey kkkkisses for you tee hee
LOL! See what I mean? And you're kwite welkome.
clue for the DE 8 please
de8 is a chemical. if you can use either hand to write your are ambi****ruous, add the chemical ending to that.
Right, I had better apply myself to finding words.
nevermind
there is some strange words abound

Im drinking bourbon. Um bacon macaroni what ever requires no thinking
cougar bourbon is that nice???
I have finally given in to the fact that being up and about takes a lot of energy from this somewhat damaged body, and now I take naps in the day. I feel much better and I have discovered I love it :)
naps are good for the body, no matter what age
indeed sprite!
no but it will do
good for you sprite! i used to love my naps, can't do it anymore with two little ones running around.
used to do the same thing Sprite but I have progressed somewhat from there in the last 3months
and the mind as well, I must admit. I should have started napping ages ago, but better late than never!
woot lore! That is a good sign!
This is the 254th day of the year, with 111 days remaining in 2007. ... only 105 Days shopping days!
oh no! don't remind me babrab.
Thanks babble thanks a lot
jan this year i could only vaccum half a room on my hands and knees run out of energy have to sleep today i have been walking since 7am to 3pm so yea i am getting there you just have to remember not to feel guilty for resting your body is healing as you rest

Seeing as you brought that up BabRab - for once I can go HAH!! I'm 1/2 way sorted with presents thanks to some early inspiration.
not feeling guilty about it anymore, I really realise it is what I need to function.
You're organized, FMitch!

Christmas and my birthday have been canceled on account of me being a crabby bitch

I was playing bridge as usual on a Monday night -- spent ages looking for a photo of my bedroom but couldn't find it so used the icon I have here.

night brookie
night Brookie
hi sprite -- are we alone here?
I think so
I have a special request to make from you, jilli!
Well, I should be in bed ;)
am I included in that 'we'?
I soooo want to hear you read your favorite children's story about the kangaroo. Please make a cast of it with mrP? *puppy eyes and on knees, begging*
lynxxx, you are always included.
oh yes, lynxxx!
sprite, I don't know how without a microphone!
no, you would need a he4set for that. Either mrP or me would be happy to send you one!
Oh! I have a headset!
oops -- h4set
that's all you need! It has a mike in it and that is good enough. With skype it is just like telephoning, for the rest. Would you please please consider it? We'd love to hear you!
I didn't realise it was a skype thing. I'll have to learn how to do that -- but not now!!!!! - lol
it is totally easy, jilli, really. If you want, mrP can take you through the steps one by one. Skype is nothing more than a kind of telephone program for computers. You can talk to the whole world for free, or at least for only the cost of your computer connection :)
hey! I found an X word!
yay jilli! You will find the other one too th4, it is similar.
*I second that sprite* came the voice behind large pile of papers. Evening jilli.
I knew about skype but hadn't set it up
Hi FM :)
just be sure you take the free version. Lickety has checked it out for us. It has all the features we need and no malware or spyware or adware. It is clean.
wb FMitch!
maybe tomorrow, sprite
or rather wkb, FMitch
Tskkkkk now now sprite *grin*
*hugs jilli* Whenever it is good for you, darling. Just knowing that some day you will read me that story is enough for me :)
got the other X, and thx for the th4 word worked in so neatly too
Clues for those x's please jilli?
xe5/20 -- xe + "that ma ***c was cutting me off"
add a cons for the 6
I mean ma***c
ty jilli
TY too
if you do not want to admit certain things to yourself, you are in de****, movie my man. Change the first letter for the 6. Drop last letter for the 5.
yw :)
but I guess you already got them from jilli's clue, lol.
time for list ... drawing total blank on the last 50
I had to monkey an F4, lynxxx... if you slip, you F***. Change last consonant in the last of your nick.
which of course is a structure shaped like a sickle, as a fold of dura mater separating the cerebral hemispheres. We knew that.
ta, sprite :D
yw! Thought maybe others might have trouble with that one as well, grin.
got those Ys too
of course we did! how could I have forgotten that! TY Sprite
great jilli, another grayed-out tile th4 :)
yw lynxxx!
but that bottom A is giving me trouble
I submit that F4/12 is not a word, but an enablism.
jilli: a very long time?
ha-- not any more!
good for you!
the long time comes from a different A
this one is a nothing
oh, you are right. Got all As, but seeing from which tile they come is not always easy, lol.
there is a plural nothing too, according to enable.
Clues for the 8s plz?
yeah, got that too -- but no 8s yet and only 2 7s
de8: D + former husband + chemical word for 3 + first 2 letters of the following.
he7/8: he + consonant + stuff you breathe + vowel. And plural.
La8: past tense of La6. L + solo song in opera + name for a toybear.
Li7/8: straight and narrow + had for dinner. Past tense for the 8.
great clues, sprite! tyvm!
ax8: ax + not well + butt minus last letter. It builds on an ax4/9. You can also get 3 7s from this one.
my pleasure jilli :)
ty ty sprite, me ol' dutch!!!!!!!
you're very welcome, movie my man :)
I only got an ax7 from that clue, sprite, plus a 4 and a6 so far
ok jilli... plural the 6 the normal way and the latin way. Th4 make it adverbial and pluralise it.
(the 6 I mean, not the plural 7s)
wonderful clues sprite :)
thanks sunny :)
axillaI can't seem to find a way to make the armpit adverbial
jilli, almost... just change the last letter.
oops -- didn't mean to put that first word in!
used the Ls in the other order.
almost penalty box for you, lol...
got it (adjectival, I think)
good! And if you pluralise that, it should give you the 8.
it was the other order Ls wot dun it :D
lol, thought it might!
got it -- now how about the ax5/20? The first one?
insert a vowel into the ax4/9, just before the last letter.
great -- that gets rid of all the ax words -- and me -- must go to bed now and have all tiles with at least one word -- thanks SO much, spritey! Nighty nighty!
sweet dreams to you, jilli, and a nice and restful night! *hug*
nite jilli
goodnite Jilli
Hi Sunny!
hey lynxxx!
night everyone -- babble well -- *poof*
and fireworks
Congrats Sprite!!!
Hooray for Sprite!!
Sprite, just out of curiosity, have you ever completed a grid without help yet?
Oh, and congrats, by the way
congrats sprite :)
yes, I think I have... you mean without clues from the chat?
Yep, that's what I mean, 'cos I never have!!!!!
I have done some without any clues, but not many. I only hide the chat when people are spelling out clues, for the rest I like the chat too much :)
and since drG made the pro site, we always have the help of the tile stats. But I have done and finished some grid before that time, without any help at all. Not as much fun though ;)
oh wow, the movie is just great today.
Sprite is being too modest. She is a Babble genius. Back before the tile stats, she not only finished grids but generously clued us mere mortals. Even so, I never finished a grid pre-stats...
now you got me blushing... but yes, I always loved clueing. The teamwork is what I like most about this site.
mmm...not too bad, only a dozen 'duh' words out of my last 50
I've never completed a grid withoud assistance, but what I am IS a completist.....I ALWAYS have to finish a grid......
well done lynxxx!
Need cluez for my last four 7s, I have ax7 x3, de7, he7, li7, ts7........
I know the feeling, movieman :)
you finished lynxxx?
I have...just mesmerized by this UTube clip
ai7, past tense of the ai5/12 de7 x 3 (2 related to the 8, 1 is where God is) ra7: ra + consonant + straight and narrow
hooray for you! :)
isn't it fascinating lynxxx! I love it :)
de7: where God is, according to Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, I should have written. Singular.
I am off to sudoku, you all have fun and a great day or night or whatever.
very clever! making it look easy enough for a child to do , but I bet it is not!
later sprite :)
Can't get that "God" de7, never heard of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.....
See you later Sprite..
I was thinking exactly the same. You have to be a real artist to do this, I bet.
you could google her, lol, movie. But before I leave: you can look at something and see it as a whole. Or you can look at the de7s.
or: de + wiggling part of dog
tomorrow we go to the transformers, btw :)
Enjoy the movie, sprite
Got all the 7s now, ty sprite
I might get going too but any clues required before I go?
ts 7 please lynxxx
ts7 is the wife of the ts4.4. - add T*** Arena
*smack* thanks lynxxx
lol, yw Sunny
OK I'm off - bye everyone - have fun!
nite lynxxx!

Good morning everyone. MrP, just shared the new babblebooks with my beloved, and he asked if it's alright to put a link to it on a different webpage (he works at a library). I wasn't sure about that -- thought I should ask you. ??

Terrific -- I'll let him know. His library has a podcast of recent books (most of them read by either myself or him), so the babblebooks will make a nice additional link.
oh that is wonderful!! thanks carlee!
send me the link so I can put friendly links in too, if he wants to
I'll do that. His library's podcast was a grant funded short-term effort, but the book readings are all still there.
I look forward to it ch12. thanks again :)

Hi Hazel
HAZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....HELLO....have missed you
Good morning Haz
ar 5,14 = the shape of a rainbow , past tense
morning, haz
hi haz :)
hi Haz!
I know. I'm missing babble!
Haz big hug, missed ya!!
thanks Kristine, I actually did figure it out simultaneously with your clue
yvw
I'm marooned at the library, computer is still being repaired but hopefully by tomorrow things will be back on track.
Is PC fixed yet or are you at the libarary?
hi kristine :)
hello mrp
ugh....computer problems... what was wrong with it haz?
mrp it was delicious
Well, nasty viruses seem to have invaded it.
The computer guy used some less than descriptive terms for the people who perpr
yeap..hate those.....
perpetrate these things.
But being refined, I'll leave it to your imagination.
puter viruses can be a b.....
However, when I get it back, I'm promised gigs and rams and extra memory and I'll be able to do babble in about 10 seconds flat.
hubby is up need to go fix him some breakfast...bbl
I have a Mac cause my son convince me they have fewer viruses than pc's. So, to play Babble, I got a laptop
Ah are they enabling enable for you then :)
That's what I want someday, bichon--a MacBook.
bichon, macs have many fewer virus/malware issues
I don't know what they're doing, FMitch, 'twas a foreign language they started to speak.
Well thats enable all over lol
Although, apparently, the creeps had managed to wipe Norton from the system!
I like the Mac, especially for graphics, but I miss the right click on a PC
And, I can't load Internet Explorer
LOL Fmitch!
firiefox is available for mac
So, is there any big news? How are you doing, mrpresident?
Well Haz, as always if you are going to do something you never do it by halves.
hello ch1212 ;)
yes, i use Firefox, but there are times I want IE. A figure skating video program I watch only uses that
Isn't that the truth? I left the vacuum cleaner to be fixed and was informed that it's practically terminal.
Husband will be strongly advised that a new one is NOT going to appear on my Christmas wish list.
i hat when developpers design for only one browser.
Thats just unfair!
agreed, dc. That
s just lazy developors
*developers
indeed, inge, not to mention ones out of touch with most end users.
Lunchtime over, gotta go. See you soon Haz :)
Hi Haz!! hi again everyone :)
lunchtime...hey all..
so true, dc!
Bye FMitch - thanks for the card!
Bye all, time to get ready for another day in the factory.
Hello Atalante - still using library for the internet, hoping normal service will soon be resumed.
bye, scabbler
ciao, fmitch
hi, atalante, bye scabbler
Atalante, is that your beautiful wire-haired doggie in your Flickr stream?
later scrabs... ugh....or garage door opener broke... and I can't find the key to get INTO side door of garage..and trash collecters just went by...guess the trash stays in the garage for an extra week
oooh haz..the library internet??..
no, she's my cousin's. isn't she gorgeous!
Indeed, the library internet. Aren't we advanced?
that sucks, carlee
she's a doll, atalante. Are you the blonde one?
( u know ur addicteed to bable when u run to the library to get your fix )
Addicted? No, no, just a mild attachment.
hmm.. definitely...tho..how id live without my net at home i dont know...i met a woman on sunday that doesnt even have a PC at home..what is that about???
I wish LOL thats my niece, it was my 18th birthday party at the weekend
<haz is in denial again>
my mum doesn't eiher and she used to work with it...doesn't miss it a bit...
lol, I've been 18 for years now.
In denial? No, no, I just look at life in a different way.
my mama lives without a computer, and my sister got online just this year.
delusional?... rose coloured glasses?
I'd rather toss the TV than the computer
i just love having google at my finger tips...settles so many disagreements
You mean people don't just accept what you say, rolin?
*sigh|*....i know its hard to believe haz...but i live in a world of sceptics...lol
I agree with inge2 -- I lived with no television for 16 of the past 20 years, but could NOT get along with my computer! :)
in denial? no, in de public library
You mustn't have trained them well enough. Say everything with utter conviction.
(the truth is,,,,its usually my partner sho's always right...the man is an endless well of trivia)
Don't make me laugh out loud, Atalante, there are some people in here who might give me strange looks....
hey there are ppl in here who give ya strange looks haz...you just dont see us..lol
So has he been on Millionaire? You should make use of his talent.
goo done rolin... ok..lets all try to make haz laugh...
I'm smiling, don't get me going or they'll throw me out.
i kid you not haz...i have begged him to try...but its that speed thing at the beginning that puts him off
lol poor haz. is everyone Very Quiet in there?
ah, the fog is lifting, i can see beyond the deck now.
I can understand that.
<EVIL GIGGLE>
where are you dc?
They're mostly men, and not very normal looking.
It sounds like he's at sea.
Reston, Virginia, about 15 miles west of Washington, DC.
all probably looking at porn on the internet
oooh...so its not the deck of a boat?
I'm too scared to look sideways for long.
theres porn on the internet???
yeap..porn...
sadly, not today, rolin.
Ah, Reston -- the unfortunate site of the virus outbreak. That's all I know about Reston.
but i thought the internet is for corn.
yes, the monkey building was finally torn down, and the site redevelopped.
lol, Haz, what kind of town do you live in....only ordinary types in our library
shockingly, yes, rolin!
and to think i imagined my partner to be studying..
the internet should be shut down except for babble
lol...thats a tad drastic ata
I remember that.. I believe I read about a book about that too dc
It's a town round about 30,000 people, the library is fairly new.
i'm in a melodramatic mood :)
Oh but the internet IS for corn! Here is the live corn cam link: www.iowafarmertoday.com/corn_cam/ :)
and recipe cites babble and recipes... and music downloads
lol ch
*grabs popcorn to watch ata's melodrama*
and chat rooms...if i could find a decent one again...*sigh*|
ok..i just gotta go to that link
hahaha... a corn field... oh my
I'd sniff and toss my head at rolin if it didn't attract attention. Babble chat not good enough?
yay! corncam!
It's updated every 15 minutes
apparently we've been dissed haz
now will people really believe you when you say you've been looking at corn ....
almost as lively as the cheese cam, eh carlee?
yippee..we can watch corn grow
I think so, carlee. Quiet sniff.
i'll go back to my pyramid cam thanks
rolin, i think this is a perfectly fine chat room.
lol..haz...sure it is...but in a previous life i used to have so many friends from the net... when i moved here i lost touch...time zones etc...and sometimes i miss it
Maybe Rolin means a forum
I love the pyramid cam! And the bunny cam with the live bunnies!
I understand now, rolin. You don't want to try living by Australia time?
wow..really rolin?..I have quite a few online friend in middle east...and even with 7-8 time zones..we keep in touch almost daily
i dunno how long you all have been on the net..but many moons ago there was a chat link call pow-wow
my roommate frequents, and i'm occaisonlly on, the JREF forum, it's a skeptic organisation.
she just means we're not as nice as her old friends
we're watching corn grow this morning? wait, hang on, lemme get my webcam set up, i just painted a wall...we can watch it dry...
ch..they have changed the light show its pretty WOW
ooh ata.... your trying emotional blackmail on ME...a jewish mother???...lol...brave woman...lol
ooh, latex or oil, featherbee?
youre*
latex of course
I'll check it out today ---
color: puce
oooh..jewish mother guilt trip..am good at that one... I had a great mentor for that one
let me guess..no one is truly enjoying today's grid?
looool just interpreting your words :) in an amusing and contentious way :) so were your old friends nicer than us?
and a proud tradition it is too carlee
I think it's a toughie today.
the X is fun, but the grid is overall kind of tedious today.
am sure it is... I rarely use it...
nicer????.... shall we say.....slightly stranger...
Stranger than us?
wow
definitely
Atalante, is she being nicer to them or us? Do you know if rolin likes strange?
ok.mkaing breakie....eggs and toast... although I could really go for a poached agg am not sure am up to making one
I have approval issues.
I think she's trying to sit on the fence and not say
lol...
oh, good to know that the grid stinks.
i won't be starting it today then!
i kind of like it...much more interesting than yesterday's
just be strange in the chat
i tell you what...i will never doubt the efficacy of a bike rider leathers any more...
i just glanced out of my window to see a bike rider sliding along the major road way...having just been knocked off his bike
just..being earlier this morning
ouch!
I would wince, but people would look.
ouch. hope s/he's okay.
he was fine...i made him a cup of coffee... his leathers were shredded tho.. no wonder they wear them
yes, the leathers are a life-saver
denim's good for that, too.
now, here in rhode island, the opposite of success is falia.
You are a good woman, rolin.
leathers and a helmet
yes, atalante, i presumed the helmet, though in Ohio, they don't require them, and many don't wear them.
oooh hursh...did you see the one i wanted yeasterday..or maybe the day before....??..'uneek'..
lol, here in Massachusetts, too, hursh
it's the enable game! :)
youre kidding dc...??..its not a by-law?
we likes our freedom here, even if it kills us
not in Ohio, and MD still has an exemption for people with class-M (motorcycle) licenses granted prior to, if i recall, 1990.
i'm sure other states have exeptions and/or non-requirements also.
clue for the at 6 please
add a cons't to the 5 green
yes, well said, hurshy
if you have an at6 problem it's in your heart
hi hurshy! My beloved and I went to Boston a couple weeks ago to celebrate birthdays/anniversary, and did the Trolley Tour and a harbor cruise --- it's really quite beautiful downtown.
ouch. helmets are good. very good.
ty
yes, boston is rather nice for a city
Anyway, I thought of you while we were looking around. We had lunch in "little Italy" -- mmmm!
but i didn't go there, ch, did you never hear? i moved to RI instead.
No helmets required in New Hampshire either. Or seatbelts. It's not for nothing their state slogan is "Live Free or Die"
the north end is a lovely place, ch1212. They're a buyring ground at the top of it with lovely views off toward charlestown.
i want to come acr0oss to new england in the autumn one year
It's beautiful, rolin. Many lovely little towns, too.
i8nge2 ..it should be...live free AND die
OH! I thought you were in Boston! LOL! Okay, never mind...
Lol, Rolin...that's what one child actually said at a school assembly!
Thanks for the tip DC -- we've gone twice now, and hope to get more exploring in over the next year or so. It's also an expensive town :)
but when it comes to the patriot act, i'm inclined to agree with NH.
ok.....well...looks like my time is up....i better go do some work.. see you all later...
It is...come out to Concord and Lexington ch1212, you wil enjoy them too
Bye, rolin.
Compared to DC, Boston is not expensive - i like visiting there, and may be up there for MLK weekend, if my work schedule allows.
bye, rolin
hello and bye rolin
later rolin
good morning afternoon evening babblers
that's the trouble with us americans, our priorities are out of whack. if we torture people and detain them without cause, people don't really care. but if we make you wear a helmet or a seatbelt...
We've been to Concord twice now, and took my daughter and son-in-law a few weeks ago. Concord is (so far) my favorite town. LOVE Orchard House, of course.
That's where I live, ch1212. :-)
exactly hurshy...
Ah, we're practically neighbors. We're in the North Quabbin region.
What...I think I know...Athol?
A friend and i accidentally ended up in Concord once, having gone out Mass Rt 2 to NH, missing 95. We were on our way to Portland.
oh dear, i used a grid word. oopsie.
Love the Quabbin
Indeed! It's a quaint town.
oooh whats a quabbin? thats a good babble word
Well, time for me to go. Hopefully I can return under my own steam (is the internet steam compatible?) in the next day or two.
Ah, most go paint windows before work...But before I leave, what's this with the Harrod's using cobras to guard their shoe collection?! http://tinyurl.com/ysegx3
take care haz....
bye Haz see you soon take care
Atalante, Quabbin, like Chopawamsick, Pohick, and many ohers, is a native name for a place or geographic feature, like a river.
hope to see you soon!
steampunk is indeed big on the internet Haz. Bye all
OH has haz been having internet troubles??? i wondered where you were!
I will. See you soon!
LOL Atalante! I don't know, but I think it's the large body of water that supplies Boston with fresh water. Created in the 1930's, and 5 local towns were destroyed in the process.
Troubles is an understatement, hurshy, but hoping that all will be restored soon.
i hope so too!
Anyway, be good and I'll be back soon.
*scraps mischievous plans*
wow..been here an hour and still don't have 40 words found..this NOT good
theres always times when Haz's back is turned ...
carlee, did you find the 2 Xs?
Me too, carleekat -- it's a toughie today
yeap... I got them
i don't got them i don't got them!
The Xs are a flower variant and an adj from it.
how many letters are the x words?
the 6 sounds like haz and her addiction to babble she in de****
4 and 5
ty
the 5 is minus the last letter
sorry, 5 & 6 are the Xs
i'd not seen the li8 without a prefix before, though it makes sense.
ok..so... I am in my usual predicament... WHAT to make for dinner tonight...is cool out...
thanks for that one too dc
stroganoff!
its not a fav of theirs
oh, yw, hurshy, i didn't think that last one would clue anything, but there it was. :)
i LOVE it..they are "eh....whatever"
slow cooked pot of spicy bean soup and hot bread!
spicy bean soup....hmmm
i gotta go, ttfn
later, hurshy
hot garlic cheesy bread ... mmmmm
bye hurshy
i have a recipe for a nice corn, bean, and squash soup i can send you, it's a nice base for going in lots of different directions.
later hursh...and thanks for that 8 dc
i'd love it dc..but...the crowd here is anti veggie...
dc, I would like that! Or you could post the recipe in your profile if others would too
its very limiting in the kitchen
i can imagine!
and the other big limitation is "meat shoudl NEVER be mixed with fruit"
drives me CUCKOO
So... no fresh cranberries with the turkey? No apricot chicken? :(
so no more tomato meat sauce for them. :P
no pork chops with apples or ham with pineapple? even those basics?
no duck l'orange?
( shhhhh..tomatoes don't count as they are prinicpal ingredient for ketchup )
nope...not done feather...
oops, my bad
wow
if you make your own sauces, a puree of carrot can be added without anyone noticing.
i know..NOW u all see my situation when I am forever looking for recipes
oh poop. literally. nick did one and is now falling asleep on my legs
hahaha....they'd notice... I used to make my own baby food and whatever wasn't getting used up ( peas..or carrots or squash) that needed to be used...I woudl do that dc....no good....so I ended upjust putting themin home made beef barley soup...
I'd do what my mum did. Mash the vegs up and deny all knowledge of their existence if anyone asks
my mother used to mince mushrooms into things so my father would eat them.
i hate waking him!
its better then listening to him howl in pain from diaper rash feather
ah, well done, carlee.
sigh. brb
will they eat tuna steak?
so...fruits and veggies aside... any food suggestions?... good god no dc..its fish
think..MEAT AND POTATOES
¡Ay dios mio! how very frustrating, carlee.
meat ='s boneless chicken, beef or pork
sauerkraut?
lamb?
i'm guessing not, but worth asking.
( adn then there is me who will try anythign so long is n ot moving under its own power... ) and suarkraut is cabbage..a veggie...my kids love lamb..hubby hates
carlee, what about paprikas krumpli: http://www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,1826,14 6172-239197,00.html, i recomend kielbasa instead of frankfurters, sauerkraut cousd be left out and add some extra onion.
well, I'd let them get home and make their own food if theya re so fussy!
cottage pie?
toad in the hole!
what's cottage pie ( sorry that must be a brit thing?)
round roast, throw in the crock pot, smear with dijon mustard, cook all day. yummy and easy!
it works feather
minced beef, onions topped with potato, grated cheese too if liked
crap...I really wonder if I marreid into the right family at times
oh..shepherds pie...
sounds like shephard's pie: ground beef on bottom, corn next, mashed potatoes on top, gravy
ah shepherds is with lamb :)
cottage with beef
beef and stuff with a mashed potato topping. no, is different to shepherds pie
how many words today?
here is shepherds pie... lamb is NOt popular here
156
156 stinkers jayde
but you'll work for every one, jayde
i grew up with lamb in shepherd's pie. Lamb and goat were my faves growing up.
lamb not popular?? why!!
oh i LOVE goat...but... alas... canada and USA are beef and pork happy ( and I don't do pork )
too cute
Thanks
slept through the change feather?
part of it, atalante, is that lamb and goat cost more here.
nope
hiccups now!
oh :( thats a shame. lamb is just the yummiest
we don't use much goat here
I agree Ata...my fav
thats true too.,, whenever hubby is out of town for a night...kids KNOW is lamb nite and they come to the table starving...there is never lamb leftovers no matter HOW much I prepare
here either, it's mostly arabs, greeks, and hungarians that use goat. My family is hungarian/slovak mostly.
ah fell bak asleep on my shoulder
I think a slow cooked pot roast it is.... ugh... i swear if I see another mashed potato I will end up in the loony bin
throw the potatoes in with the roast, they're yummy that way.
yeap...I do... but..oh nevermind...u will think I am exagerating... so we will leave it to that
alas, i think i'd believe that you've had nothing but potatoes at every meal for years at this point.
ummm....u would not be far off the mark dc
so sweet when they are corsage sized Feather
lol jean
all I can say is thank god for GOOD frozen indian entrees here... I make their meal..then zap a good korma or butter chicken with basmati for me
why did I sart this today lol
start
***yawn*** G'd morning Babblers!
ok gotta set him down and go get daniel dressed
RUN lori..RUN
don't lok at the grid
just RUN
g'day, lori and kallia
the grid today is tough
wish I had lol
anyone have the he7 or he8 please
hi dc
good morning lori long time no see!!
Is it REALLY that bad carlee? Or is it a caffeine issue? :-)
nm for the he's
no..its THAT bad lori...been here 2 hours and I still have 84 to find
Lore! Good to see ya' again. Hope life's being kind. :)
i ordered 7 things from amazon the other day. It'll all be here tomorrow, in 5 different boxes.
Not that bad finished in 3 hours Hi and bye
It's BAD
been wonderful and hope its the same for you
hey herin
How many words are there today please?
I woke up, got 48 words, then hit the couch for a nap.....***decadent*** I take it then, I am now in for a long haul.
bye herin
oooh..i love ordering online... what did u get????
Bye herin
156 words
thanks
an extra filter for my vacuum, several CDs, and volume 2 of a ref book.
what cd's?
head
Pink Martini's latest, Hey Eugen, 2 from Madredeus, one Tereas Salguiero, and there's another i'm forgetting
I ordered some old Derek Jarman films the other day, they arrived today *such happiness*
***Must not comment *** heh heh heh
gm lori (b4 you accuse me of lurking) :-)
LOLOL G'd morning non-lurking Esprit. :)
i worte those down dc... will check them out...always into trying out new music ( to me new )
I strongly recommend Pink Martini, they do a wide variety of stuff, and their albums are are nicely danceable, speaking as one who does classic ballroom.
hahaha...classic ballroom..another one of those things have always wanted to try... my taste is... way far east of here I am afraid....
Madredeus i like, both their fado and non-fado stuff. Sadly, they've not been her in the states since i found out about them.
oh, carlee, the baklawa you posted sounds lovely, i'l lhave to try that a day, likely week after next when i have days off and am in town.
thanks... that is our "short cut version" when preparing for over 500 people...
when doing for fewer I make the sugar water instead of honey... and I add extra types of nuts to the mix
ah like the recipe for felafel from my friend that makes 40 pounds.
sugar water, a simple syrup?
hmm..been a while since I made the syrup as I am forever doign the MASS BAKE... I think is 2 cup water to 1 cup sugar and 2- 3 tsp of lemon juice..boil until thinkens but does not darken and pour immediately over the baklawa....
ah yes, so a simple syrup with a spot of lemon. Good to know. Though i like honey a lot.
ur friend who makes 40 pounds falafel will know
the honey is greek... the sugar syrup is arab
ah good point, marianne does make baklava.
( there no "v" in arabic alphabet )
10 words in like 10 minutes is a bad thing......
I warned u lori..to RUN....did u listen..noooooo...so NO sympathies
Lori, use the power of the X
C'mon now, that's harsh talk to a Babble addict carlee.... :)
Way ahead of ya' dc. Word totals are my guiding light this morn.... :)

Good morning Merk and good morning DCseain
This is a strange grid. I'm surprised there are even 156 words. It will be like pulling teeth today.
yes merk, it will, embrace the X, though.
ok..got the he7/8 if u need them still
yes, please, carlee
he+ and anogram for our fav babble crown..then plural
an anogram rather..sorry...
Yes, I'm beginning to see that.
I've seen some strange past tenses, too. the ai 4 words were common enough, but two of the longer ones were new to me.
he+ take the s****s up to the second floor *nd hang a right
Carlee, thank you for the he 7 and 8

Good morning Eva
hello eva
Hey, this whole making up words thing is playing out quite nicely for me. I'm at 95 words now.....
G'd mornign Evan
good deal, Lori.
These words are beyond whacked. they're mental!
how is everyone today?
Great Evan. And you?
Ok, Eva and you?
I just noticed I don't have any of the 13 "A" words in the left column :(
still a bit under the weather (not sure yet if its a cold or allergies) but ok enough to be at work... (would rather be at home, all snuggled in bed though!)
hope you feel better Eva
thanks :)
Recover soone Evan!
clue for de 8 please
Hi Greenbay, sorry I don't have the de 8
hi Mom.. that's ok
de + 24th letter + in****sically important
ty
add a vowel for the 8
what kind of important, Lori?
de + 24th letter + ****ity (prefix ) meaning 3
or how about de + 24th letter + a ****ket or bauble
de+ 24th letter + the holy ****ity
thank you Lori and Carlee. Feeling very dense now.
phantom word: exile
With this grid Mom? No way.....
Yah Evan. No matter how many times I entered that, no go.
yes. This is going to be a thorn in my side. I rather not deal with words starting with a vowel but there are a bunch of those
hints on the X words?
I count 36 A words. A bunch are armpit-related words.
i actually have XE5 -- its a town in ohio where i used to have a friend...heh
I just got one of them Eva ...
Think the Warrior Princess and add a vowel before the last letter. Then make it an adjective by adding one consonant
thanks inge2
Thank you Inge, now I don't have to type it out. :) and good morning
yw. fun grid tho
137 words. i hope the light at teh end of this tunnel isn't a train....
you are doing great Lori.
i am having the hardest time convincing my 2 year old that people, especially 2 year olds, CAN NOT FLY. Damn that Super Grover!
really dense now ... armpit related?
the medical term for an armpit
starts with hatchet
well now I know where all the vowels came from for yesterday's puzzle... today's puzzle

Morning deb

took me 7.5 hours to get home - ferry delay
Thats a shame flosey but im sure you are always in contact with them
hi, yall. I'm back.
Hi dc

wb dc
ty nanette
excitingly, it's rainy so far today
We are having an Indian summer in Wales at the moment.
have had nothing but rain last 3 days here..... still cloudy
After the washout summer we have had we are all excited at seeing the sun!!
this is the first meaningful rain we've had since spring. And it's cooling off finally, high's only to be in the low 80s today.

Hi carlee

thanks nono...dc.. at least the roasts on sale... I have enough roast to last me until next spring :D
hi tiny
hey tiny
Hi Tiny how are you?
hi
hi Tiny !
I'm back. DC! How do you peel squash? I took your suggestion earlier to carlee and am going to make the bean-squash-corn soup. I bought a butternut squash and will cube it up.... but I don't have a potato peeler, just a paring knife. Will that work?
hi Tiny
hi caitlyn I am doing ok
it will work ch
Hi ch1212
just be careful
i steam the squash to just scoopable, scoop it out, add to soup as thickener and let it chunk as it will.
if peeling raw, i use a very large knife to cut it up, then cut the skin off
Ah... I like that idea better. Much easier. Thanks!
as long as it is very sharp ch...but...why not pop into oven and bake / roast it until ready
good idea dc that makes it much easier
Caitlyn how have you been
I'm thinking of slow cooker with black beans, corn, peppers, onions, paprika, garlic .... what else?
hi everyone clue for al 5/10 the last one please xxxxxxxx

2 year old who is potty trained had an accident in bed (which she has NEVER done), then 3 year old with terrible constipation, spent an hourin the bathroom with her
glycerin sppository didn't work
oh my, what day so for, lideola, may that it calms down.
then while i was dealing with that, the 2 year old spilled a bottle of water on the desk chair... and I sat in the puddle
lol
oh lideola... I am so sorry, makes it really hard, doesn't it?
being a mother is not very glamorous...

lol social life? lol
anyone else forget how to be an adult?

a long time ago
i have advantage of having 2 cats and a rabbit, but no kids nor spouse.
no, stid, adulthood is not all its cracked up to be :)
3 teenagers, 2 cats, 1 dog, 2 snakes, 2 aquariums, 2 red hens. a zoo
All I know how to be anymore is mom.
i just forget how to socialize like an adult... not only because of my own children, but because my husband and I own a childrens party rental/entertain company
i'm single without kids and still act like a kid. i think it's great
i've had some fun watching my mama play grandma with the nephews. She reminds me of her mother's mother.
lol isn't it funny watching your parents with the grandchildren? You think... "Hmmmm why weren't they like that when I was little??"

oh jean, i adore you
When do we get to see you in all your periwinkle glory?
:-D
li 5/10, first?
its unclear
i caught the bouquet though... are we setting a date?
was the wedding fun?
as much as weddings can be fun
i was set up with someone that i'm meeting tonight
she's a neurobiologist
she's a neurobiologist heh...
i like em smart
Periwinkle? Wedding? I miss out on everything.
wow underachievers, the two of them
oh, I missed, a beat here . . . you rblind date is a neurobiologist?
li 5/10 is plural of li 4/4 which is "a li** in your voice"
oh jell... you have no idea... i had to wear a periwinkle suit to a wedding
yes, the blind date is a neurobiologist
ty, montreal
and she's intimidatingly attractive as well
like - i'm gonna hide behind something cause i'll be so shy around her beautiful
what does she DO specifically?
I just emailed you btw
li 6/18, the first?
she studies the effects of strokes on something in the brain that i don't understand
which means i'll be spending some time on google before i go to meet her
ah, ty
are you having dinner?
li 6/18 is li 4/4 + "this beer is really an **e"
ty, montreal!
li + a horse has a m*** on its head
sorry did the first li5
Thanks, bubba. I found that one.
li 5/14?

The entire family has embarked on a craptastic and depressing journey through hell... and I have withdrawn other than offering support...
tsarieo
Not beloved and I... we are solid... one of the few constants right now... thank God...
<HUGS> ...feel free to write ... if u feeling the need to vent
cub ts ends win what you call one who dances ballet
good...am glad things are strong at home
You are a wonderful friend, kattie... I just might do that later, but now, I'm hiding out in Babbleland and letting my mentality flex a muscle or two...
ty silly me
knock urself crooked then red... the beauty of babble...its twisty , turny and bent
( this was a heck of a grid too...full of evil little beasties )
so I myself am findingmyself completely lazy today... I keep getting up to do something...and wasndering the house... completely unmotivated to accomplaish anything..I've started a bout 20 diff things tho
I like evil little grids... they challenge me and keep me from feeling that it can ever be easy! LOL
So what's wrong with a "sneak up and start" then back off and smile, day?
time management....I have x hours and y things to do and x and y already don't equal
There's no one over your shoulder with a quality control report... with everything you do on a weekly basis, you're allowed to dance through a day once in a while...
i feel guity when I do it... oh..on hte darling daughter front..the child from hell is NOT returning to guides <happy dance> and my daughter is attempting a one nite camp on sat/sun
Great news, kat! That child should be shipped to a Russian gulag ASAP
( temps are high of 57 lows of 35 F and they are canoeing... so they willget wet )
A bit chilly, but kids don't feel the cold when they are having a great time...
ra7,28?
it is great news... and justine is relieved...the idea of her possibly comin gback had her nervous... ...and I hope so..ok..u dive back into the beasty twisty world of babble... my laundry buzzed... I'm be around to clue if u need a hint

top people in the company are ex**

Oh, doh! Thank you, debjed.
Thank you everyone for the great clues and hints. With that i have ***FIREWORKS***.
pompom toss for clc
Way to go, CLC!!
Of course - ty/
ty Scarlet and carleekat.
(0:
How long did it take for you today, CLC?
hmmm - that mean's the ex5/20 isn't a pl. Ho Hum!
ex + tow the l*** again
Oh ty carleeket.
OH welcome sandi
it took me about 4.5 hours
I am getting the hang of this and only get hung up on the long words.
I have just monkeyed some astounding words here... not the least of which is the fa4/12... I have to look these us when I'm done... Wow...that's dedication, CLC.... I've been in and out most of the morning... :-)
first sa5,10?
*up*
Arrrggghhhh... I haven't even seen the SA words...
s+ The sound u make with ur fingers in ur ears when u don't want to hear...reversed :D
I dont have anything to do at work so I get to focus on it really well. In AZ and get in at 6:30 am. Work for a mortgage lender and have not had work for weeks.
It is amazing, I get paid to sit and do nothing.
Oh, the market has really tanked lately... unless the Fed does something for the "little" people...
BORING after months of it.
THAT would drive me more then bendy...
fortunately up here our market is still thriving..its..nuts actually
Yeah, kat... you and I are perpetual motion... LOL
I am looking for a new job but cannot find one that pays close to what I make. Maybe I will move to Canada. lol
red..I'd be finding a way to start my own business whilst setting there twiddling my thumbs
Money is the ultimate seduction, isn't it.... we say it doesn't matter, but when there is none... Right,kat... I can't do just one thing... I have to have music as my soothing influence, though...
ugh...and in alberta... the people working at mc donalds are being paid 20.00+ / hour and the restaurant is closing at 8 pm cus not enough staff to run it
WHAT???
mind a 1 bedroom condo is selling for 180 000
I'm not kidding red... alberta is going CRAZY
That's insane, kattie... sounds as though the market has gone nuts...
thanks carleekat. my job is pretty slow too CLC. that's how i got started Babbling - a friend recommended it and now it's history
ex6/36 please?
( its called..OIL... the tar sands )
lengthen
if u take apoint on a grid and draw to a second point and then extrapolate or ex6 it out to infinity u get a ray
The tar sands... oh, yes... saw a detailed PBS program about the extracting technology and the companies interested in the big bucks to come soon...
I want to go back to school and get into the Medical Assistant program. I need to get out of the mortgage industry, too much of a roller coaster ride.
ty debjed
CLC... honestly, what is not a roller coaster ride in this world today?
yea... but its doing so much damage to the environment..the heat generated...and co2 to crete the heat needed to steam out theoil
Scarlet - I know but I want something that does not involve commission.
Hasn't the environment always taken a beating when it comes to fossil fuels and "progress"....errggg, don't get me on a soapbox!
Besides, this was my husbands interest, not mine. Now that I got rid of him it is time to get out of this business.
That sounds reasonable, CLC... it's tough on a comission basis...
ok..changing topic quick... so red..am making boring poit roast for dinner tonight
Okay then! LOL... new leaf time, CLC!
pot roast... ( sorry..folding laundry still)
Pot roast is great! YUM
Okay, kattie...

bichon... off u go... hehehe
why doe it do this grrrrr. Who could help me?
anyone have the second ne 4/4?
do you think Licketdy could explain why it does this?
diff spelling for a basketball or soccer or hockey thingy that u shoot at
( it saw it as 2 words bichon as there was a space in there )
bichon...if you put a pace in the word, it thinks there is more than one word, and sends it to chat
yes, it's weird, first there's a blue flash and then it appears here
No penalty box for bichon...LOL...
okay, maybe that's it. does it happen to anyone else?
I usally have the opposite problem...a one word answer cor chat going to the grid
(But it's rarely a word, darn it!)
I don't use the newer Beta, bichon.... I'm content with the BetaV10
I use 9 Scarlett...I think it's a feature in some of the recent ones
Right, dan... I don't need too many bells and whistles... I'm a Technonerd...
anyone have the first li 6/18?
ummm... technonerd?.... that makes u a computer geek...
hello
li 6,18 a straight li** + ** Gore
li 6 18 -- being in a straight line.
But I though geeks were smart... I'm the direct opposite, kat...
oh wait nvm. that's the second
take the li4,4 above and add 1/2 of a telletubby name
( I know red... am teasing u )...
SEe? Not too swiftie pants, kattie...LOL
the second one...switch the middle 2 letters around
is goodreads going to be added to friends of babble?
the first one means "spleenic" new word to me actually
( I had doing the white load of laundry..I only have about 50 pairs of socks to sort )
hate even
There goes my buzzer now... see you soon... I have about eight pairs of hubbys to sort, and about sixteen of my own... I wear about two pairs a day... not at the same time!! LOL
later red..take care... <hugs>
*Hugs back, dear kattie*
must be on my way - take care everyone.

i have to remember to include past tenses of 3 letter words, like the ar5/14
ty bubba and kero
woops, needed the first li 6/18
Have to go now. All have a great day and will see you in the am.
first li 6 = switch the middle letters from teh second li 6
I could use some help with the big az words. I gathered earlier that they build on the 4 above them, but not figuring it out...
hint for ye 4/6
do you mean the ax words?
rhymes with not fat
yes of course! doh!
LOL
ax 4/9 + first vowel
with the ax4/9, not the ax4/10
ax 4/9 + first vowel and another vowel
ax 4/9 + we **e human beings
that one in the plural
ax 4/9 + ** fast ** lightening
and the last one is ax 4/9 in the plural
sorry most of those have a repeated consonant at the end of the 4/9 word
these are not working. I am entering what I believe you are saying and it keeps saying word not found in dictionary.
I got the ax 4/9 + 1st vowel and plural of that
try with the repeated end consonant - sorry
You have to double the last consonat of the ax4,9 then ad the endings
oh, ok thnx

free it ends with non acceptance
add a stick letter to the end
add a cons to the xe5
to the end
brabble i think you put an extra p in there...
Then hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophila must be love of long words.
in the "sesquepedalia" part
-philia
oops, -philia, I mean, if someone's spell-checking.
does that mean I am out of the spelling bee and must sit down?
hehe
hi all
i must be slow today. i'm still stuck on the xe (non acceptance). what am i missing?
xe6 sounds like someone who is friendly and sort of jolly, a ge word
add a consonant to the end of the xe5

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." --- Frank Herbert, Dune - Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear
that should be given to all agoraphobics babrab...
that is one of my favorite speeches in Dune. I've only seen the movie, haven't read the book.
love that speech too - read the book but haven't seen the movie...
"The only thing we have to fear is fear it'self - nameless, unreasoning, unjustified, terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance." ---- FDR - First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1933

what's the significance of 3 planets making a 120 degree angle?

ok todays video is SO worth slogging through this grid
any clues on the bigger fa's can't find a thing
fa6/27 is a type of cereal
fa5/18 is a mockery
fa5 - kind of a joke
fa 6/33 is past tense of the 5/18
fa5 kind of a joke
fa6/30, well... passed gas
take care all
fa6/30 is the past tense of fa4/4 (the one previous )
There just CAN'T be 47 words left in this stinkin grid
ha - Jean! Same here. 47 left and I'm thinking the same thing!!
unfortunately.. there are... :(
cereal...hmm...
I think I'll take the root canal instead
now all i can think of is mueslix

I still have 71.
now for iron sudoku
75 to go here
so lost on cereal
creamed... i have no idea... cream of wheat... creamed corn...

ata - i have an antipodean question
Hello all.
do i have to form bibliophilic antipodean alliances if i do not so desire?
hi scrabb
hi scrabs
No, but you must ally with the transcendental formational vector forces in the universe, HUrsh.
woohoo. only 46 to go!
but those 46 are like torture freepeace!
thanks you guys....done with the f's whew they were tough on me today
I still need 97!
indeeeeedio Jean!
scrabb get out while you can
But the total is only 156--I should be able to finish this one.
I believe I counted 27 words that the "X" used.... way too many!!!
gasp. only 7 hours left.
that means i need 10 more that use x. thanks Gu! :)
de6, second one?
doxy: de6 the devil is in one of them... proverbially
to hold one back for questioning
sandbox that's the first
esprit: nope.. it's the second.. the first de6 is to presently remove oxygen from
I got it
Guten Abend, Babblers. Yes this is a toughie, but can be done
hi inge
ahhhhhhh
Guten Abend, Inge. Wo ist Herr Sonne?
Bei uns
Nicht uns!
Die Sonne scheint hier
good day all!
schwartzvalderkirsch
The sun shines after you finish the grid :)
Sehr gut, EJ!
Are we eating dessert already?
:-)
why not, life is short
that depends, what's for dessert?
is that black forest cake?
Dessert should go first, then I would stop eating.
Pr is EJ referring to the liqueur?
no the cake
Yes, TO
de - presently remove oxygen from?
i did that in college. if i really wanted dessert, that's all i ate. why waste calories on food?
My first apartment, really a duplex, here in this wooded development is called Schwarzen Lowen Haus.
considering I don't speak German, you can't pick on my spelling :-)
cake = kuchen, ja?
I am not picking on it EJ
On eof the original builders/owners was of German descent and named many of the homes up here. Frolische Haus.
this grid sucks imho
free: yes... that is the first de6
Wouldn't that be a panther, Scrab?
Owl, how much are you enjoying the grid today? Tell us how you really feel.
I guess, Inge--I don't know any black lions.
TO is 100% right
Scrab, now you got me wondering> Is your settlement really on a hill?
sorry scrabs : /
Yes, we are up on a hill. (When is a big hill called a mountain?)
The hill across the valley from us has a ski resort.
Gee, then we got soemthing in common. We live on the highest elevation in WAyne County< MI, about 300ft up. !!! hehe
300 ft--have you adjusted to the high altitude, Inge? LOL
bye a;; see you later. time to go home.
I think we are at 1700 ft.
I'm about 4500 feet
by TO
Southeast Michigan is about as flat as they come. In fact most of Michigan was swamp before those Germans started living here
Wow, doxy--you live on a real mountain. I am on a big hill.
In fact, originally Michigan was under teh ocean. When it froze and retreated it left a bunch of holes we call teh Great Lakes
I live in a valley. the mountains are about 7,000 t- 13,000 feet.
and under ground it left a huge salt mine, the largest in the world. It goes all the way from Ontario, througfh MI, OH, in to West Virginia
Those Rocky Mtns are high!
cool inge
Wow, Inge. I did not know that.
and Detroit sits on top of a second city, a salt mine excavated to the size of alsmost the city limits
The salt gets used on roads in winter
have you ever tasted salt from a mine that has not been bleached? we have a salt mine here that has the best salt, sort of a sweet salty taste.
No, I never have, doxy.
It goes by the name of RealSalt. it is from a mine here in Redman, UT. the best salt I've ever tasted.
ta6 please
Well, I tasted the salt in the mine near Bad. Reichenhall in SE Germany, right near Austria. I also have samples from our Detroit mine. Now I will do a taste test on that.
ta + vowel + hump letter + two vowels
I haven't tried the other salts, you'll have to let me know what you think inge.
grrrrroooowwffff
TY, Doxy, I should have been able to find that.
Hello, tired Mama.
I college the father of one of the dorm students supplied us with sea salt from a desalination project in the Red Sea (in the late 50's)
hi feather.
at what point does the screaming when thwarted stop for a 3 year old? sigh. he's in time out right now.

of course while i'm trying to get dinner going. nick meanwhile is in blissland, with the dishwasher running right next to him.
When Daniel realizes that he is not the boss of the world and that good consequences outweigh the bad ones.
tr6 ends in ** Gore
he just came out and apologized. he does do that well at least.
about 18, like nrkii said.
ok, gotta check on the dinner. had to let off some steam first!
TY. Inge

oh back for a sec...discussion over on goodreads about reading a group book.
I am so tired (I was on-call last night) and I know I should go for a walk but I could just fall asleep....please tell me that it is OK to not exercise today.
It's ok scrabs. You can hurt yourself if you are too tired.
hi all
hi marisa
You are right, doxy. I could fall over from exhaustion. TY!
hey doxy
Hi Marisal

sa 5: like the stuf you put dressing on, replace last letter with an l

Inge, my little old (2 yrs 7 mo) hamster, Oliver, is dying. He is like a little old man.
I'm sorry scrabs.
TY, doxy
Gee, am sorry to hear that. Snoopy comes out of his soup can less often
He is my last hamster of many that I have had since my nephews were young--- probably since 1994. I think I will not get a new hamster as the bunnies keep me busy enough.
ra7 please
Does your hamster live in a cage or does he get the run of the house like the bunnies?
He is in a cage, Inge, or else I would never find him. Whenever a hamster has escaped the hide-and-go-seek is no fun!
if you can put a p in front of the ra 7 itis a great chocolate confection
ra 7 is ra + double letter and drop me a l***
TY, bichon!
wow. you should see what daniel can do to a living room in 15 minutes while i cook dinner! i actually took a picture as proof.

I can believe it feather. my 20 month old granddaughter can destroy my living room pretty fast too
we had a hamster at school that escaped. he hid out in the classroom closet, feasting on birdseed we had for a project.
ne6 please
playdoh and animals explosion
okay, was looking in the wrong direction
friends of ours bought a new house and their son's hamster escaped right away. He ran down one of the heat registers. When the house started smelling, they sued the builder (not telling him of the missing hamster of course)
ne 6 is to straighten up, which is what feather is doing now
ewwwww
add a common ending to ne4/4 scrab
Oh, dear, Inge!
LOL my granddaughter (19months) is like a hurricane
inge, have you joined our book group? see my profile
nope, feather is sitting down right now and letting the mess get bigger.
he's happy, he's busy, i'll clean later.
Now I am emarassed, ruru, I was starting ne4 from the top! TY.

bichon, bekki, anyone else, come join us at goodreads!
It will always be there feather. for some reason the messes don't clean up themselves.
what is goodreads
too bad doxy
a site for anyone who likes to read, you can review books, see what others are reading, etc. we have a discussion and book sharing group there (in my profile)
the tr 5/10, first one
I know it feather. my daughter (granddaughter's mom) does not help me too much in that area. she has resorted back to the "child" mode.
i pretty much have resorted to cleaning once or twice a day. and i get daniel to help with it, at least some of it.
Abbie with help pick up her toys if we direct her. she is good about it.
you should see how fast he cleans when threatened with the basket of animals going "up high" if mommy ends up doing it all by herself!
i try directing, he says "no you mommy", thus the ok, i'll do it, but then the toys go up high until tomorrow

No, hurshy, but I responded by asking if the transcendental vector forces needed to be aligned? Then I looked up the word "antipodean".
i saw that bit sc before i logged out.
Wow, I suddenly got fireworks and I didn't know I was that close! TY all for clues!
yay scrabs!!
how do you not notice when you're close? congrats
My vocab is not as big as yours, Hursh, although I know scientific and medical words.
I knew I was down to 6 and I just used the list as a guide and then I was done.
The other night Doren was surprised to finish and I wondered how that happened, and now I know. I was in the "Babble Zone".
well sc, i only learned antipodean recently. from haz.
thanx Fran! Firebirds!
yay chic!!!!
Yahooo chic!
that sand artist is not as good as the Sand lady from Israel....
Can I use a Borders gift card on Amazon? Borders is teamed with Amazon.
I watched just 2 minutes of the video.
yes, you can but you have to make sure you start out by going to borders.com rather than amazon.com
which means you can't pull things straight off your wishlist, you have to find them via the search.
i was wondering where you went chic, forgot about the video. :-)
OK, TY, hursh.
and it won't let you redeem more than one in a single order
which can be very irritating.
Yes, Hursh, I am getting very irritated as I end up on Amazon and not Borders and I suspect as I will get to my final ordering step that the gift card will not be acceptable. I guess I will go to a brick-and-mortar Borders tomorrow.
More than one book or more than one card>

I've been technology shopping today. Anybody here use a Blackberry or similar device?
night nrkii
I haven't Jellen
I use a Palm T5, Jellen. Has wi-fi, but is not a phone.
Bemused and bewildered by all the options :-P
I gave up on those when my palm pilot blew up and I lost all my addresses and stuff, give me a plain old pen and paper please, lol
What do you need it to do for you?
I have a Palm T3 that I'm thinking of replacing, plus I have to get a new cell phone plan, so I thought I'd combine the two.
That is the half way mark for me. See everyone tomorrow. Pleasant dreams to all. :)
There's the new iphone.....
I use my Palm mainly for scheduling, but I have other programs as well.
Bye Mom, see you tommorow
sweet dreams mom
Bye, Mom
bye bye Meliae
Thanks LBD, you as well. :)
bye bye Jellen
pricey, but I guess it does everything. I use my Palm T5 for almost everything, and have a cheap tracphone for emergencies.
I don't think I'd use the web browser much. I'm home most of the time.
You said you had wi-fi. So you can browse the internet wherever wireless connections are?
Big question--Can you babble on your Palm?
ohhh, i could see that as a big danger! lol
Definitely, lbd :-)
"but officer, that word isn't in the grid!"
I would never Babble and drive!
i would hope not! i'm too easily distracted enough without babble on the road too!
And I have ADD.
brb
i'm one of those very intense drivers, i don't like all the distractions that come with a lot of the new cars. my motto is, drive or be a passenger.
Finally Fireworks!
I agree Dawg, drives me nuts to ride with people who are on the phone, text messaging etc I tell them hang up or let me out

That's me... odd. Too busy to play while "working" today. Very rare for me.
tch--we never actually use the grid words in the chat. We just talk around them--like "the biggest word is a past tense of social faux pas."
well in our new office no privacy...play limited to break time
ah ok
makes sense
Have some reading to do. BBL, Babblers.
surely geniuses like you guys figured that one out tho ;)

Obviously, you work for Nazis, TO. I'm blessed to have my own office. Although, I like to think I'm self-disciplined enough to finish work before play.
Goodbye Jellen! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
But, tadowguy, it happens all the time!!
hi everyone
just a quick babble before doing school work
Hello LuwandaHL! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
hi Luw
Does anybody have a clue for the ll 5/10 word please?
Clue for the Ll? No m's, so llama is out.
I could write a nice program to solve this for me
send us a copy!!
judi work never stops, we have those who work and those who complain about everyhting they are asked to do. of course, they are asked because they never do anything unless they are asked.'
judi, use the next consonant
ll+ *** domani?
Thank you for the ll 5/10 word. I found got the word!
Alas, TO, to some that is the American work ethic. Lord knows some of us try to set a good example. LOL. TY for the LL, btw.
gotta go. conferences are coming up and lots of paperwork.10 days till fall break and i can babble to my heart's content
have a great evening
ah, dawg, "domani" = tomorrow. i think you want "domini", of our lord

i just never caught it on tv in the later seasons

i love the geeks and i hate the beauties. no, i don't hate them, i just cringe at them, feel bad for them, and wish such bimbos did not exist

Harpjane, I have a Twin Towers picture in my house, but it's not the same.Got my icon from Google Images

i just noticed the word sizes
not sure how I missed it
the D's are making me crazy
tx lbd - that cracked them open for me
just got all the ax words. Throw those in the the x's.
it takes a while tad
hursh, that would definitely be sci-fi, those kind of guys don't usually go for smart women. especially if the women are smarter than they are
but jeepers, isn't it awful that there are people who you can ask what pi is in math and they have no idea... if you head south and then turn left twice what direction are you going (huh?)... haven't heard of the terms "red state" and "blue state"...
glad they helped Dan
ok how about hot smart guys and hot smart women....
Hey, some of those geeks looked okay after makeovers. The beauties are tragic though. You know they'll end up married either to rich old men or trailer park managers.
i love that all the geeky guys only know the term "booty" as pirate treasure!
you mean it isn't just a baby shoe?
sorry, was off uploading pics to blog. new posts of nick and daniel!
