is there 1 or 2 d6?
woo hoo! go ata go!

thats a silly word
i think it has to do with wheat?
The feeling of being valuable--"I am a valuable person"-- is essential to mental health and a cornerstone of self-discipline. It is a direct product of parental love. Such a conviction must be gained in childhood; it is extremely difficult to acquire it during adulthood. Conversely, when children have learned through the love of their parents to feel valuable, it is almost impossible for the vicissitudes of adulthood to destroy the spirit.
whaddaya know, one def is the silly one.
not that simple with Asperger's syndrome, BabbleRabble

hi marmar!
I LOVE this grid! I actually got 51 words today. Very generous grid today. I suppose tomorrow will be different!
i AM STUCK AT 19..... UGH
im just in, hoping il finish this grid, it will be my first
Fireworks and without the list for the first time :-)
Gran, I finally used Lickity's clues for the first time effectively. I think this is as close to fireworks as I'll ever get! Way to go Katie!
dont give up marmar - if in doubt there is a ord list by letter count on the right hand side of lickety... with so few to go...
Marmar, I got alot of mine by monkeying the words, keep going!!
maybe I'll keep trying. Cooking a big pot of soup for the kids' lunch now. It got icy cold here in central Germany and soup just sounds SO good!
Can anyone help with E's from top middle? I have eg4/6, eg5/14 & eg5/14....one missing
Think it might be an er4/4 Ray Morning all
sorry that's wrong...I have er4/6, er4/4 & er4/4 from that E..
ok how about er5/14 then
thanks Mitch, got it.....just 3 to go!
you're welcome :)

ah, what Fran says sounds so much better, lol...
i love how the little girl gives that smile at the end
I love the change in voice/tone of the teacher
ok, I have to be off, lots of things to do today. Hugs to all and see you tomorrow :)
i'll be back
my screen is playing up. says i have 37 words and 42 left LOLs
any help with the first to eg's? I am paying the monkeys double time and still no joy
The first two I have are eg4 and its plural. Looks like a slight misspelling of a keen word.
TY!
You're welcome.
last two er's? Even with lickety these monkeys need replacing..
The last one that I have is the equivalent of German first. er plus an abbreviation for a canonised person.
ound the first one...
TY! Had to google canonised LOLs
Morning Haz, very short and sweet grid today.
Hello FMitch - you're right there, it's a bit short for my liking.
I suppose all the early birds have been and gone?
Yes, its one of those "you will go and do other things today" grids
and the sc6 21 is giving me nightmares. even the monkeys wont touch it. Sorry Haz, *blushes and looks stooopid*
no its 11 ords too long for me
That one I don't have yet, granadan.
lol grandan
s plus what a baby does when distressed or hungry
s + c5/12
That sc6 isnt on the wordfinder ouch!
We're ever so creative on babble.
LMAO - respell the sc4 and pluralise..
Oh heck - you got there first -0 so engrossed in hunting for it I didnt read properly lol
You've got it now, anyway.
AHaz, how did the hunt for a TV go the other day?
Well, I managed to confuse myself. I strode past what I thought were strange looking things to try to get to the 'proper' TVs.
LOL sometimes you can have too much technology.
Then, light dawned that these strange looking things WERE the only TVs on offer. I kept looking for some other piece of equipment to go with them, but no, thin computer screens seem to be the thing.
My sister had done her research and was confidently talking with the salesman about digital readiness etc, I stood mesmerised.
Ooooooh! and was one finally purchased?
Yes, indeed and a stand to go with it as well.
and now all she needs is a degree to install it :)
I haven't heard yet how the tuning has gone, but I've heard no screams so I assume all is well.
But realy, I felt such a fool. When did TVs slim down?
I think it was the Aitkins diet that did it. Few years back now dear Haz.
hi haz! hi FM! you won't recognize computer monitors anymore either haz. :-)
te4,5 anyone?
It just goes to show - if you don't need something and aren't really interested, new technology has a habit of changing behind your back.
Hi Frannie. I have a lovely flat one BF got me 2yrs ago.
gran, school te** or long te**
pass the fish - TY Fran
it does it even while you're watching haz!
yw gran. :-)
My computer monitor is one of the slim ones. I just hadn't realised it had crept into TV land as well.
re5,12? Really sorry
re6/12 - re plus the start of the opposite of permanent
morning all, I just replaced my computer monitor with a HUGE flatscreen job. It's great, don't need my specs for babbling any more...however, it hasn't improved my typing!!
hi liz!
TY TYTY
Good morning lizmac.
Is it warm with you Fran? WE are just above freezing today. Tell me it's all warm and lovely LOL Hi liz
Hello Haz & Fran.
well, since it's the middle of the night it's cool, but our days have been lovely.
st5? Its cold here too in Herts/Beds Mitch. Lots of crunchy grss for the dogs
got it - ignore
warm, but nice breezes to keep it from being too humid
Well, I feel better now that I have brought out the winter clothes and got the oil tank filled.
It looks bright and lovely here, but it'll be a bit chilly I fear.
Fireworks at last!
okay, just popped in to say hello since i didn't feel right lurking...i'm off to sleep now.
yay gran!!
Yup, lovely bright blue skies and sun, so not complaining. Yay Congrats grandan
Night night Fran
TY - more like congrts to you all, cos I needed so many clues again
have a good day everyone!
I mustn't put any more words in as I.m down to 10 left and I'm working tonight (also, Hubb always has to enter one word a day at least)
niht fran
Congratulations granadan, and goodnight Fran.
good morning everyone:) just a quick visit today
morning Jean
Good morning jean. Busy day ahead?
Yes I have Haz, I dont know how I have managed it Ive taken a week off work, and I seem to be really busy lol
Morning jean. Coffee time BRB
no sugr please Fmitch.
That's what happens, jean, you do all the things you don't have time to do when you're working.
Ill provide biscuits
Perhaps Lickety could put a "hide grid" button on his great site so I avoid temptation LOL
true Haz but its nice not having to go to work, just got back from taking the dogs out and its such a lovely morning
It does look nice out.
I love this time of year, its great up in the woods all the changing colours:)
Yes, the soggy summer has given us wonderful autumn colour. I suppose it's compensation, of sorts.
Returns with pot of coffe, mugs and all the requisites. Help yourselves :)
oh FMitch thank you, if only had time to drink it lol
Thank you FMitch.
PAsses jean, thermos mug with lid - voila, takeaway!
stewe
thank you FMitch I will take that with me now, as I sadly have to go folks, Happy Babbling one and all hope to may get back later:)
Bye jean, have a good day.
Bye jean
Sorry, had to try it....now I must walk away from the grid and not look back.
Everybody shocked in to silence by my faux pas? I DID say sorry.
And it wasn't even a word.
It's okay, liz, you're forgiven! I'm just reading back in the log at the minute.
No, was busy sipping steamy hot coffee
Good, I can continue my day in a guilt - free state now.....well, about Babble anyway! BBL
and battling with sudoku, sigh.
HAve a nice day liz
Some battles are best left to others (my world philosophy on sudoku)
Morning all :) Have been stuck in the grid and now have 7 left....
Good morning Liz. We're here to help.....
Helloooo Liz
Thank you but I'm going to try this one alone!
Hi FM
FMitch and Haz trudge back to their places....
By the way, in case you dont see me for a few days I may not be on for a while as my brother and family are coming to stay from this afternoon...
LOL Haz :)
Passes Haz a magazine
Do you feel neglected and dejected as well, FMitch?
Oh, house-guests, that'll be fun.
*sniff* it's OK Im used to it.
Awww you are not neglected LOL Its just I never did a whole grid without either asking for help or going to the list and I'm sooooo nearly there today.
Did you get therapy for it, FMitch?
You two are mad LOL
Haz lets go over to Sark and stand outside Liz's shouting clues!
Yes, let's!
We could get a loud hailer.
No, Haz, that should say, "house guests? that is NOT going to be fun at all!!!!"
And paint banners.
I wish you could! I'd rather have you two here than the ones who are coming lol
Wouldn't it be funny if there was a knock knock on the door now Liz you would jump a mile!
'You may not want to know this BUT.....'
I do hope your brother isn't reading the log.
*after disrupting chat and upsetting her friends, Liz dons a black hat of shame and skulks off into a corner!*
LMAO - I thouht that Haz
I would shoot through the ceiling LOL
Quick, haul Liz bck...
Knowing that your sister would rather have two madwomen coming to stay than you, might push him over the edge.
My brother is in flight as we speak! I am safe!
We could get a message to air traffic control.
*tears hair out and screams Nooooooooooooo*
This is an announcement for Liz's brother - 'Don't come'
You re gettin there with your trek sponsorship - how long till you o? Ive got links on my sites
Nah, lets just graffiti the runway teehee
LOL
Sorry, just read it....
Oh thank you Granadan! Thats so kind! :) I don't go till 9th March but am training like a mad women (taking after FM and Haz obviously)
That would be good, FMitch. As long as we avoid incoming aircraft we should be okay. What's your tag?
Squiggle Haz but with a capital SQ
*runs out to see if the floor is dry so I can carry on cleaning*
I'm getting Atalante to design mine - she's so creative.
Don't run on a wet floor, Liz. You might slip and fall and not be able to trek Jordan.
Ask her to include a mermaid and a couple of cod, she already has a design on the go for that
I was thinking along the lines of a spaniel drinking from a Baileys bottle. Tasteful?
its dry lol Haz, I'm off to make the beds for the descending mob - catch you all later
Bye Liz miss you already :)
*leaves Granadan to suffer the madness that is FM & Haz* ROFL
Oh well, if you'd rather do that than chat with us....
LOL
A glitter spaniel quaffing Baileys would be bril
*poof*
LOL grannydan is off to scrub some kennels and feed the heir apparent...
Oh, glitter, there's a new angle I hadn't thought of.
Are we scaring the nice people away Haz?
They're all leaving us, FMitch.
his first show is in less that 3 weeks and he is a long skinny wally at the mo
No, just me n Liz Fmitch!
Is this your son you're talking about, granadan?
no, a dachshund called Parry
I thought wallys were big gherkins? Im confused and suddenly hungry?!
Could that be possible, FMitch? Us scaring people away?
yep - he does look like a herkin, but black and tan
Who's going to put a gherkin in a show?
gherkins are best in a big mac IMO. Right, really have to get goin. *poof* and ctch up tomorrow hopefully
ROFL
Is it an agricultural show? A section for pickled products?
granadan please don't EVER replace yr keyboard.
A spaniel drinking from a Baileys bottle might qualify in that case.
*unpoof* Ill pickle him if he doesnt stop piddling in the kitchen
Phone.
yes that will be it Haz, and the tent next door will be for Hot Dogs. Eeew pickled piddle, that will not sell.
Oh this orrible keyboard. Right, I relly m poofin now *poof*
LOLBye granadan
And I'm back.
think it is time to be sensible for a little while :(
Except that I really should go and get some other things done. Have you finished your coffee, FMitch?
Yes all gone and things to do too
Shall we *poof*?
OKay, we'll have a synchronised departure. One two three GO Poof!
Gathers up coffe tray and empties *poof*
And sanity returned to the chat log......
Good morning everyone, can you tell me the first 2 letters and points for the 2nd row down, R please?

G'd morning babblers!
morning Lori
Scrub what I said earlier about wanting a 500-word grid this week. Just had a 'phonecall that means I'll we working for next few days.
That was a disappointing grid. The 500+ word grid must be lurking nearby.... :)
ahhhh... yes...well.. unfortunately given all we going through..i just cannot justify "shopping" right now...even tho shopping is exactly what I need to do emotionally
*be working
{TACKLE SQUEEZE}
***Tackle hugs carlee***
morning lori {GRIN}
me too, carlee - even virtual window shopping is no fun right now
heh heh heh great minds think alike LOL
Hi, LoriP
I loathe shopping.
Either you read the chat or you're channeling me, LoriP!
I love it merp, you can't be denied a christmas presant
i loathe shopping too lori... but I get a bug about 2ce a year.... and I need a "pick me up" , "feel good", " spoil me" moment
For me, shopping is right up there with shovelling snow or lawn mowing...
I'LOVE" shopping,almost to much......:)
Lori - I'm with you on the shopping issue.
Second hand shopping is a mood, and when I'm in the mood I do it.
oh love to you all! have to go now and spend time with the loved one... TV! LOL
yeap..I totaly agree... but I need... a pick me up... as I don't do drugs... and I don't drink... I only second hand shop when I run out of fur coats...
CSI is on! see you all soon!
byebye mrp
Have a good one mrP!
'Bye, MrP.
be well merp.lol :)
carlee, I just got a fur coat (waist length) in some clothes cycled my way. Want it?
how? I would if we were closer... ( I make teddy bears out of them )
I'm pawning it off on a neighbor, who wants it for some type of sewing project.
bye bye MrP
well that was short and sweet. Fireworks. Off to babble
second hand shopping is a real trip, love it......:)
I always take any furs that come my way...
never mind, I meant sudoku
Hello all
take care inge... {{hugs}}
I love second hand shopping
Yes, that's right you do! If only you were closer. I get a surprising number of them. We have an informal network clothing exchange
congrats Inge
Hello, peri.
doing well with the grid, 13 left
Congrats inge, happy sudoku-ing
ok..well am ALWAYS on look out for persian lamb and they REALLY hard to come by
hi peri
Second hand is my fave. Never know what treasures you'll find.
GO,inge :)
carlee, forgive my ignorance, but how would i know Persian lamb? I would certainly save it for you
bbl
Go peri go!
( its a curly fur....the length of hair is about 1 inch..and it curls... ummm think of the leader for apghanistan..his hat is gray persian lamb ) whew..almost word dropped there
I'm guessing it would be in the tag somewhere. Save it from a lifetime of ugly coat-ness to become a teddy :)
I didn't mean THAT kind of go.... :-)
kat what a good idea I bet the teddy bears are cute!!lol
LOL G'd morning my love!
http://images.google.ca/images?hl=en&q =persian+lamb&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2
its a nice way to make "momentos" of grandma for a bunch of grandchildren...
WHAT?
I'll keep an eye out carlee
How many bears can you get out of a coat? (Or ow many coats for a bear?)
I can get if you cut carefully ( knee length grandma mink ) 4-5 bears
Wow. That's impressive!
i just like the persian lamb ones for gifts...
Really carlee? I wonder, I could save the coat I have, get a couple more, then mail them to you
I'll reimburse u the postage lori...
I hate the idea of fur coats..but.. if the fur is being "recycled" into something a child will love... then I figure is ok..is better then some furrier making another bundle making a fresh styled coat
Wouldn't be much carlee. That's what I will do. Save for now and at some future date when I have a couple, mail them to ya'. Done and done!
coolio... thanks
They're big, but light. Canada post wouldn't have much chance to up the price.
Since you're busy right now anyways, it gives me time to stumble on to a few more.
Exactly uniquity. You know because of our experience9s) it really wouldn't cost much
i've been doing mosaics..I just did a small one yesterday..grouting today..will take a pic and post later when is done
I'm not very creative that way. I can stay inside the lines in my coloring book though! ;-)
Carlee, you just put my cross stitches to shame :)
me to lori :)
mosaic is like a constructive jigsaw puzzle ofyour own making... ( I did cross stitch for years... did loads of the paula vaughn and... there another brand..something and lace... I can't remember name..all very statuesque women in robes with flowers in hair..and they do lots of fairies too
but the mosaic is a nice way to recycle a favourite old thing... grandma's good china with cracked finish... turn into a picture frame...or something...
Neato, Carlee. I have always wanted to do that. And good morning everyone. I hit the snooze alarm 5 times and lost valuable Babble time.
Well done carlee. You're so talented.
its dead easy scrabs...if u cn doa jigsaw puzzle..u can do this
Hello, Scrabbs.
good morning Scrabbler
I made some mosaic steeping stones a few years ago, they were ok but (sortta) 8)
G'd morning Scrabbler!
and on that note i have fireworks just in time for breakfast!
Happy babbling everyone
hi ya scrabbler
Well done, Nono.
Congrats and have a good one Nono!
We had a business mtg last evening, until after 10 PM, with Dr Richard Head in classic form, so I got to bed very late.
<POMPOM TOSS> nono - woot woot
Yahoo Nono!
way to go NONO
yack!!!!
I hope you didn't have nightmares after spending the evening with your 'charming' boss, Scrabbs.
Mr Happy was charming everyone again Scrabbler..... :/
eeeewwwwwwwwwww...ewwwwwwwwwwww.. ewwwww... not mr happy YACK.. that just conjurs up scary gross memories on my part.... <puke>
I had to take a sleeping pill--well, diphenhydramine, an antihistamine--to knock myself out. Otherwise I would have ruminated over that mtg and all that was said and all that should have been said. I gave up a few yrs ago with trying to make progress with him.
We're here for you Scrabbler. We all know a happy, giving, jolly soul like him.......... (putz)
He is such a control freak and narcissist. He is actually fascinating to observe and study.
time to say bye all :)
'Bye, hodag.
later hod
Later hodag, have 'yerself a great day!
Geez, I have to go already, and get ready for work. I shall return tonight. Enjoy the day everyone. Bye hodag. Say hi to mousey.
i FINISHED the re words..before I finished the grid..wowza
'Bye, Scrabbs.
I will scrab. TY
and DONE! Fireworks, and no list today. Off to work as well (grabs door as Scrabbler exits)
My last 4 words are hiding from me! I can hear them rustling and giggling. Naughty things!
Well done, JBs.
Morning all reading about Dr Richard Head reminded me of something on the radio yesterday - names which match peoples professions, all ficticous of course. E.g an accountant called Adam Up, a road worker called Doug Trench, neurological surgeon Ivor Brain - ood game to play
Have a good one Scrabbler! Take care
good game that is
LOL Maisie, excellent! Oh, and g'd morning.
Morning Lori well actually its afternoon now
Hello Maisie. A friend of mine once worked as a nursery nurse and the head of her department was Mr. D. Nappy. :)
well..that was a rather... unsatifisfying grid.... nothing to get teeth into....
Yah, I know carlee. Done? Congrats?
yeap..done <yawn>... I thin kI still have the remains of my sleeping meds in my system..I feel blurry eyed
Did the D stand for dirty Jacula?
Maisie - I doubt it but that's how I always thought of it.
Congrats carlee! ***passes a coffee***
lol
Well, it certainly didn't stand for Dry.....
thanks on the caffeine..but I think I will wait until my kids head to school then be a couch potato for a few hours
No, Lori. LOL
Gardener - Teresa Green
A garbage man = Chuck Itout?
good one Lori
Litter picker Ben Down
This kind of thing would entertain me for hours
When I was a kid, my dentist was named Dr. Toothaker.
Me too, its the way my brain works - sad but great fun
I noticed <giggle>
Avid reader Paige Turner
The one that wears you in at a trial = Talon Truth?
No one else playing?
my brain definitely does not work this way
I love stuff like this. The hub and I do it on long drives
The kids do it too!
my brain just doesn't work that way
I'll probably play this on the way to work later
the irish cement finisher, I. M. O'Darby
Maisie, all day now i will be pondering possibilities. Thanks for the idea!
FIREWORKS!:-)
Post them Lori and I'll check how well you've done

toast...the easy route..or eggs and toast?... or .cereal and milk... or....I wish I had cheesecake.... damn
Off to do some work in the garden now. Happy Babbling!
I'm having cholesterol on a plate, unoriginal bacon and eggs.
Happy gardening Jacula. enjoy!
i don't eat pork..upsets tummy....
Blasphemer! Bacon should be its own food group!
hmmmm... its days like this I wish I had someone on the end of a bell pull and I could just order... a muffin....yummm..blueberry muffins still warm..smothered in butter..THAT is what I want....now Ihave to bake...frig a richard <wink>
LOL carlee :-)
provided i HAVE blueberries in the frezer too
I have no blueberries left, and didn't put any down this summer
Usually I get them off our back 40, but didn't get any this year. The weather ruined them, and the deer beat me to what was left. :(
i just buy the "europes" best frozen ones... not great if defrosted in a fruit cup....( funny flavour) but for baking or making jam....perfect
i wait until on sale.... at 3.00 / bag ( reg 5-6 ).... and stock up

Yep you are the nut and a star :)

Thought youd like that. LA hope you are ok for that matter hope all the Cali babblers and families are ok. Jade if you are reading this email me. Hope your family will be ok
Hello again, folks. Hey, nut. What's with the Babblecasts now? I can't even find the ruddy thing in The Alley to download or listen to.
why can't you find it in the alley????
HI Jac
Also can i say Its my birthday today i am 30
look up comedy, it's dropped all the way to 19
happy birthday old woman
Dunno, nut. When I try typing 'comedy' then 'Babblecast' it shows me 1 & 2 on a list but says there's no description and the latest one is not in sight at all.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Herin. In 20 years' time you'll be as old as me.:)
de 6/30, anyone?
go to comedy and scroll down that a way jac, then maybe book mark that page, you can also listen to it directly from www.babblecast.podbean.com
I finished work not long ago and then caught up with Hydra's blog. She's so funny! She's trying out a cure for piles now.
Jac try that

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Lady! You are a mere baby compared to us middle-agers.
who you callin US scrabs?
Got it. Fireworks.
Hey Scrabbler
yayyyyyy LA
Yah La
Metal Yah hello
hi herin and all
All i can say is 30 and my boobs still haven't started the southern migration
how's everybody today?
I am 30 today does that mean i need to be a more responsible adult?
Herin - tried that url. No. 26 isn't on there yet. Thanks anyway. Re being a responsible adult... I'll let you know when I become one myself.;)
Metal how are the kittys?
of course not herin, I'm 49, closing in on 50, and haven't bothered to do that. why should you at a mere 30?
Hello, Scrabbs and Metal.
i just posted it jacs, it may take a day for podcast alley to update
I must tell the truth: I am middle-aged. It is painful to accept as I only began to feel like an adult several yrs ago. Yes, Lady--time to start growing up.
Okay nut. Thanks.
Just because you grow older doesn't mean you have to grow up---I think OScar Wilde said that.
True. I say my inner child killed my responsible adult all the time
hi Jac
Scrabbler how is are bunnys
Metal you got new photos of the kitties which are so cute
Bunnies are all cute--devouring their evening salads. I found dandelion greens at the store so that is a special treat tonight.
sorry, am not on my computer... don't have them where I am
Dandelion Greens is that like normal Dandies?
Metal but how are the kittie?
I have to go out for a bit--to the snowboard shop to sell used equipment, stuff that my nephews have outgrown.
it's hard to believe they're six months old now, and almost as big as Spot
I grow a few dandelions in the garden for my bunny and the g/pigs. They love 'em, and the flowers. They don't get them too often though, esp. not in hot weather, as they are diuretics.
I guess so, Lady--they love dandelion greens--the ones with huge leaves.
Incidentally, the best way to get rid of dandelions from your garden is to regularly harvest the leaves! *sigh*
The rabbits would go nuts in my back yard
they're wonderful! enjoying the cool air here today. it's made them all quite mad and very active. it's like having six small elephants rampaging through the house. (I say six because mama Spot runs and plays with the babies more often than not.)
See you another time, Scrabbs. I hope you get a good price for your snowboarding equipment.
So cute. My back yard is covered in Dandelions
herin - just keep pulling the leaves off and they'll soon die.
metal - the kittens look v. cute. Have they started climbing your furniture and curtains yet?
That would be great but there is lots of them (actually maybe they are daisys, i dont know)
greetings all.. soen to my last four and having trouble with the sc 6/39 & sc 6/21.... thanks all :P
Incidentally, metal, have you seen the youtube film 'How Your Cat Wakes You Up In The Morning'?
herin - daisies look nothing like dandelions. LOL
indeed they have. we have one in particular who scales one of the door frames on a regular basis... nearly made it to the top a couple of nights ago
yes, I have seen that video... it was mentioned on a different game site I 'gammon at.
I dont know jac they look like weeds to me
Hello, hackerty. sc6/39 means a bit mad (extend the threaded sc5/20 with the sometimes vowel). sc6/21 means looks into a crystal ball (s + what babies do a lot).
metal - all fun and games there, then!;)
thanks Jacula :)
y/w, hackerty.
hello-- does anyone have the points total for today please?
Dorens. Hello. 587 points.
Lovely icon, Dorens!
Hi Dorens
ok thanks jac... means i'm missing a 5 letter e word worth 14 points., and I already have two of them... hmmmmm
yes isn't it amazing.... sunset at the north pole when the moon was close. hard to believe
Dorens - could it be the extension to er4/6 (2nd one)?
got it! thanks
y/w, Dorens. Did you take that pic yourself, btw?
Jac do dandeloins close at night?
(that is fireworks here, listless and no clues) oh goodness no, jac... I am neither that adventurous nor talented!
Herin - Yes. So do daisies and buttercups.
Dang that doesnt help.
Well done, Dorens. Off to the North Pole with you now!:D
indeed...good night all... till tomorrow
Herin - dandelions are fringey yellow flowers with leaves like rocket lettuce. Daisies have small rounded leaves are the flowers are small and white with a yellow centre.
Goodnight, Dorens.
Fireworks! Thanks all goodnight!
We have these yellow weed flowers in the back yard they looks like weeds
Well done, hackerty. Goodnight.
congratulations hackerly!
Herin - how tall are they? If they're very tall with yellow, open trumpetlike flowers they're probably evening primroses. (They open at night.)
thanks everyone... I like the short puzzles... I can get them done!
Herin - best way to identify your weeds is to Google images for these: dandelion, daisy, buttercup, evening primrose.
Sorry! Meant hackerly not hackerTy!
no worries
Dandelion: http://www.dgsgardening.btinternet.co. uk/dandelion.JPG
Anyone out there in need of clues whilst Herin is googling her mystery plant?
hi jac, how about de 6?
im here my mummy rang
yes please Jac, I could do with the wr5.18
ty Jac, I think I'll tough it out for a bit longer
ak - de6 = to disinfect. Remove nasty disease-giving things.
ty jac, got it
YEp that looks like it.
Wren - wr5/18 = a weird word for pulling a wr* smile (adjective sense). Rhymes with tr5 (attempts) or cr5 (weeps).
metal - okay!
Herin - dandelion it is then!
Now i need rabbits or a goat. Maybe a goat to eat the Jasmin off the back fence
would never have thought of that on Jac. thks
y/w, Wren. x
hello everyone :)
Herin - Jasmine is poisonous to dogs. Dunno about goats.
hy there mr p
Hi again, MrP. How are you today?
Goats eat anything. No dogs here anymore just a kitty. Hi MR Pres
hi Wren, aknitter, Mr.P and all who entered while I had nose in grid
today am good thanks :) staying in bed resting
herin - just checked and Jasmine is also toxic to cats and rabbits.
sc 6/21 please
MrP - I guess you're on the laptop then?
Kitty is an inside kitty if she goes outside she will be on a lead or in the cage
ak - gave that clue to Wren at 6:50pm in the log.
prezzziiiiieeee!!!
zooming backwards
Was that a knitting sheep that just whizzed past??
yes jac, the laptop, the dog, the cat, 4 books, 2 magazines, 1 newspaper, tv remote and a newsletter... oh, and my son's results from the government test he did :))
((( nutty )))!!
it was a confused sheep, i see the wr clue but not the sc 6 clue
taking multitasking to a new level she is
Is your son smart Mr Pres(cause i know that is going ot be a yes)
Luke did his school skills test for school in July, and we got the results last night...
and?
he is top 1% in the state... extremely smart!
of course he would be he is your son
wahooooooo!!!
ak - sorry! Same applies re the rhyming to the sc6 clue. It means 'looks into a crystal ball'. s + what a baby does... often!
good evening all!
hi nat
MrP - Have you left room for Lickety in that bed??
Hi, Nat.
found it jac after some thought (painful) and some monkeying around
Mr Pres guess what i am doing today?
Sorry, ak! Forgive me.
oh of course jac! I will clear the bed for him. :)
what are you doing today infern?
np jac, it is good to think once and awhile - a new activity for me LOL
LOL, ak.
High Tea at the Windsor.
It's Herin's 30th birthday, MrP.
wow!! happy birthday infern!! have a great day!! :D
happy 2 you herin
welcome to 30, its all down hill now!!
ak - Herin said not long ago on the log that her boobs haven't started the southern descent yet. *grins*
after 30 they drop like a stone hahaha
.. especially after childbirth! *evil cackle*
tis the season for evil cackling
Actually, mine aren't too bad. I could probably hold half a dozen pencils under one without them dropping now.
Thanks No kids for me and yes evil cackling
oh yes! I developed boobs at 30, ironically, after childbirth, and I am now starting to go south, finally!
ak - It is indeed!
de6/30 anyone?
The test to see if you have pert boobs, in case anyone doesn't know, is to see if you can hold a pencil under one without it dropping.
If it drops - you're pert.
hold a pencil under the boobs? good lord i could pack an entire case under there
Cath - de6 = to remove nasty disease causing bugs.
yayyyyyyy, finally got rid of the little bugs and got pyrotechnics!
ROFLOL, ak! Oh... sorry. *wheeze, wheeze.*
st 5 please
omg...ty jacula...that was my last one...been stumped on it for a couple hours
te 6/24 anyone pls? tx in advance
y/w, Cath.
fireworkies
a pencil?
st5, ak - to scatter around, as of seeds, straw etc.
someone need a pencil?
Herin - yes. A pencil.
got it
and the pencil too
i think i found a pencil any way
RB - te6/24 = past tense of te4/5.
of course, thanks jacula, much appreciated
just a pencil case? a can of diet coke, and a couple of remotes...
Herin - how long had the pencil been under there for? *runs away cackling.*
and just where was that pencil herin?
pert
that's me anyway
oh jac, be nice it is her birthday
My mum taught me boobs are a girls best friend
comes in handy when you need to carry a lot and don't have enough hands
herin - those and diamonds!
And a pert bum.
which direction do you put the pencil in north south or east west or straight out?
metal - LOL!
stayed right there. I have the best jeans for the best butt
ak - across your body not end in. Oh, LOL again.
mental image of pencil sticking out
Can you imagine what a state the world would be in if men worried so much about their bodies as we women seem to?
ak - same here. Still giggling.
men worry a lot about our bodies
help w*
Gunfight at the OK Corral - Hang on. I can't go out there yet. Anyone got a mirror? Do these jeans make my bum look big?
oh did you mean their bodies?
hey they have parts that travel south too
nah Jac, it's not the jeans
it's the mirror
ak - men are shallow. We are very forgiving if they put a pound, stone whatever on. But... if we do?
dragging parabolic mirror out for jac to use ..... no not at all
But a great set of boobs and being blond works well in my case
My bum's fine. It's the bit of me my Other Half is forever 'meancing' - sometimes even when I'm cooking. I'll swear he must have Italian blood in him!
*googles 'parabolic mirror'.*
Hey, got the fireworks. I haven't played for over a month, so was glad to see a small grid to break me in again
I am the one that loves cooking
think fun house mirror jac
Welcome back, Wren... and WELL DONE! x
yayyyyy Wren!, same sentiment here.
Yah Ren
herin - yes, so do I, but having your bum pinched, or getting goosed, when you're stirring something hot can be startling at times. LOL
de6 anyone? last word!
I have been back home for a week, after two weeks in the Costa del Sol. Nothing to do but lie in the sun, someone has to do it!
we 4/8 #1 please (any help from the pert gang greatfully accepted)
Got my own back the other night, chopping up carrots. Poor chap winced and slunk off into the sitting room to watch telly.
Jac thats funny.
ak - we4/8 (1st) - archaic word for 'were'. 2nd we4/8 - covers with water.
we4.8 - mini waterfall
jac can u help for w*
jumps up and down I am done!!! (gets smacked in head by bouncing boobs)
OK im off to organise my day
Wren - Costa del Sol, eh? Good for you!
Trying to type well done, ak. Laughing too much at image presented to do so.
de 6/30 please
*Now singing old music hall song 'To Lovely Black Eyes'.*
'Bye, Herin.
lol jac
i had better be careful i might hurt myself
Or even 'Two Lovely Black Eyes'.
trying to listen in on the fire stuff in san diego my BF is down there
ak - buy a sports bra!
mel - de6 = to remove nasty, disease-causing bugs.
Oh Meliae go to LA times they are an awesome map
only de6 I have is de + nasty little bacteria
jac that clue is should become your signature
de6/21 (the 2nd de6) extends the de5/12 (to put off).
thank you Jen thats the one
ak - I'm thinking so, re. the de6/30 clue.
I have all kinds of maps up and listening to a live stream of a radio station down there
Ok Meliae take care
not to look like a complete idiot (but hey what the heck) what is today's icon theme? i have been trying to figure it out
Symbols AK
My profile has a discription
ak - today's theme was 'Your Favourite Symbol'.
Tomorrow's is 'United Nations Day'.
(Though it IS tomorrow here in UK now.)
well then my favorite symbol is a skein of wool
re 5/12 please
ak - if you bookmark this: http://www.playbabble.com/view_profile /6719
That's Babbler's Handbag where all the themes are kept.
thanks jac
I follow grid time that way i get a 48 hour birthday
Ok im off
so how is tomorrow ? give me a preview since it is still today here LOL
LOL, Herin.
'Night, Herin.
ak- tomoorrow seems quiet enough so far. Bit chilly.
'night all, I'm off to watch "Bones" in stead of just listening to it. Happy Babbling!
Just nipping off to sign out of goodreads site.
bye jac thanks for the preview of tomorrow
metal - 'Night. Good series, that! Far better than the UK take on it, 'Silent Witness'.
ak - I'm back. LOL
hey jac if it is already tomorrow where you are...
ak ... yes...?
can you buy me a ticket for tomorrows lottery (drawn here in the US)
you' would have the winning number right, since it is tomorrow and all
ak - I doubt it! I'm sure they've got that kind of loophole covered.
just a thought
one my daughter did not find funny, she thinks i am nuts
Don't think there are enough hours' distant anyway? It's 1.31am Wednesday 24th October here. What time where you are?
re 5/12 please
it is 8:33 p.m. here
ak - kids always think their parents are nuts... until they 'become' their parents.
nm got it
fireworks for me talk to you all later
mel did a peri!
re + a short word for degress F minus the p
and i am too late with the clue as usual
Still Monday there then, ak?
still monday and i would rather it was not as monday was not all that spiffy
ak - I remember sitting in the hairdresser's once and glancing up into the mirror. My mother was reflected there. Scared the sh*t out of me! lOL
Not a good day, ak? Want to talk about it/let off steam?
in order for me to become my mother i'd have to grow about 5 inches taller
i am thru steaming jac, ty just here laughing
and why are you not in bed (using motherly voice here)
My Mother is shrinking! We were once the same height (5' and nearly 2")
I'm not in bed 'cos I'm still up, ak. x
my mother is 6 feet tall and sadly i am not
ak - I don't think I'd want to be 6' tall. (Except when the last thing on the supermarket top shelf is right at the back.) I've developed a way of sorting that now, though, if no tall person is on hand to help... if ever you find a long pack of smashed biscuits or a fizzed up pop bottle... you'll know I've been in your supermarket using it to whack the top shelf item to where I can reach it. *grins*
i would love to be as tall as she is. alas i am not. i do the same top shelf trick that you do.
LOL, ak. So it's YOU I have to blame for all my broken biscuits and exploding pop.
Since I've always had a penchant for tall men, I have found being petite attracts them. They get 'all protective'. LOL. Love it!
well i would refer to it as tonic and cookies but yes
Had a bit of a panic moment last night, watching episode 3 of the new SG-Atlantis series. It seemed Ronon Dex was about to leave.
ak - Good thing about Babbling is that it makes us bi-lingual.
breath into this paper bag jac
Thanks, ak.
I'm okay now. He's staying.
i think i shall go jump into the shower and get ready for some mindless TV viewing
other Half looked at me sideways, during the programme, and said, ''Course he's not going to leave. All the women would stop watching if he did!'
got to keep those female viewers
Yup, ak. Not so mindless as X Factor viewing, I hope?
well i must be away, night Jac ..... and GO TO BEd
Go for cops netting drunken driver or something instead.
love cops
ak - I'll go when I'm tired.
bye jac
LOL, ak. Got a 'uniform and sunglasses' image there, have you? Blank ouot the belly and the doughnuts.
Bye, ak.
Hopes ak has not gone off to view some horrible show where the husband finds out on TV that his wife has 64 babies that aren't his and kills all the other lovers on camera, whilst fighting with her Mum and stabbing her stepdad, who has fathered 6 of the kids.
Gosh! I'm awfully cynical, aren't I?
Jac - the next episode of Corrie?
jilli - Hi. Dunno. Haven't watch Corrie for about 3 year now.
I still love it, jac -- come back!
Hi all
Is Ken still in it, jilli?
What's Tracey done lately?
Does Deirdre still have that horrible, stringy neck that flexes when she's upset?
Yep, Jac, and Dreary and Blanche and horrible Tracey (in deep doodoo) and the Duckworths and...well, we're 9 months behind the UK version
Has Gail finally got dressed up in S&M gear? LOL
yes -- that neck is fascinating!
Tracey has just murdered Charlie
jilli - the origin of that neck (in real life) was that Anne Kirkbride (who plays Dreary) had lymph node cancer.
Ah, I knew she had had some kind of cancer years ago and hadn't noticed the neck before then
jilli - The female version of Damien has just murdered Charlie? MY! You are behind! I must've watch an episode or 2 more recently than you.
Has Fizz netted her man yet?
I hated Fizz when she first came into the series, but since she took her bra off on the factory roof, I've warmed to her. LOL.
Netted? No wedding yet, I think -- but I missed some episodes a little while ago
I still have no idea why Fizz would want Kirk! LOL.
wooo! I think I missed THAT episode too! She's OK. Can't stand Cilla though
e4/5
cum - there is no e4/5.
Too right -- Kirk is so clueless, but we don't know what's under the surface ;D
Cilla's horrible!
jac e* right side e
jilli - not sur yet if there IS more than a surface layer to Kirk.
I did read that Les (the actor) has been fired recently
I'm thinkin of under the clothes...
eg4/6 - sounds like one prowling the boundary.
fireworks
jilli! I am shocked!
YAY steve!!!
Erm... he doesn't look very 'manly'.
Like fun you are, jac
Well done, steve. Whoever you are and wherever you sprang from.
Why has Les been sacked?
Drunk and disorderly or something, I think
Figures. Bruce, the actor, can sometimes do that.
Will there be another murder on the show? Or will he and Cilla disappear to Lower Slobbovia?
Corrie still maintains the old discipline that if their actors act out of character in their personal lives... *draws imaginary knife under throat*.
Well, D&D is pretty much in character for Les on a bad day, n'est-ce pas?
jilli - I think the show is aout due for another major disaster rather than a murder. What form will that disastter take?
For Bruce, too, so I believe, jilli.
hmmm -- well, you're the script writer -- how would you do it?
*Thinks*, not having watching show recently. Big cull in order?
I've heard that's in the cards
Given the time of year... coach trip to the Blackpool Illuminations... crash.. major tragedy.
Manchester isn't in an earthquake zone...not easily flooded....not a target for an Iranian nuclear bomb....
Gets rid of adults who want to leave, one or two who don't plus any kids that need to concentrate more on school now.
hmmm -- good thinking, jac
Well, I dressed my icon with the UN Building in Vienna, where a college classmate of mine works
last 2 one
e* s*
Hello all---I made $250 selling used snowboarding equipment to the local shop.
hi inge and scrabbler
jilli - you'd be surprised where earthquakes happen here in UK and Manchester still as many old buildings that would succummb to what might seem like a minor earthquake to you in USA, with the traffic rumbling past that's weakened the buildings also.
Guten Abend, Scrabbler. You might need it in a couple of months
I like your icon, Jill.
inge, my mother and I lived within walking distance of the new NYC UN building in 1946
My nephews have stuff that fits them now that they are all teenagers. I sold the old, smaller stuff. And I have cross-country skis for me.
Scrabbs - well sold!
hi there scrabbler...i tried to do my turn, but the site was wonky. will try again later.
Yes, Jacula---the stuff is out of my cellar and I have $.
OK, Feather. I am trying to stay in the game, but my tiles suck and the board is very "tight". I have to be defensive too.
jac -- meant to say I admire your icon -- and it makes me wonder what happened to babbler ankhorite
jilli - Machester can also be flooded, as can most of UK (se my flickr pics) and no one knows where terrorists might strike.
tight is an understatement!
OK, OK, jac!
Ankhorite always had a hamster icon, and some very cute ones.
jac, my cousin in Stow-on-the-Wold was spared this year's flooding
I see I made my point, jilli. LOL.
Off to be for me. I am exhausted! I shall see everyone tomorrow.
got it to work!
Enjoy being you, Scrabbs!
jilli - glad to hear it!
but jac, I'm not in the USA, but in an earthquake zone. Thank goodness not in Southern California just now, with those wildfires I heard may have been set my an arsonist, ugh.
sixes please
bye scrabs -- look forward to your return...
I do, Jacula, although Dr Richard Head threw many barbs my way last night during our mtg. He is a real study in psychopathology and defense mechanisms--he has an answer for everything. I wish everyone here could observe him.
a while back the question for Ankhorite was raised also, and someone actually knew what she was doing. I forgot. I alos heard some babblers were offended by her hamster treatments. Geez, those were just photos
jilli - no, you're in Canada. I'm sorry for including you with USA, over The Pond. As for the arsonists... what kind of mentality does that?
Psychiatrist Babblers or criminal profiler players please enlighten us?
WAY over the Pond now -- Canada's west coast
P.S. I survived my gyn visit today.
OK time to turn in. Gute Nacht, babbler family. Bis morgen
Stiff upper lip, Scrb?
Sorry, for my geographical faux pas, jilli.
Nm, jac!
LOL, Jill! I asked him to use the Barbie speculum, LOL
hehe scrab
OK, off to sleep now.
inge - I sent your post via e-mail to Haz earlier. She now understands why you took offence Will make thingds right between yopu, a.s.a.p. xx
any clue for the de 6/30?
night night scrab :D
it's my last one
miz -- disinfect
Oh bloddy hell! Not again! de6/30 = to rid yourself of those nasty, disease-making bugs.
Thanks!!! Fireworks!!
Sorry!
silly word
YAY miz!!!
de6/30 was the hard word of the day. LOL
ty
I can now go eat dinner!
night all!
I was monkeying for so long, trying all sorts of combos
ttfn miz, and bon appetit
:)
Scrabbs - what the heck is a Barbie speculum? I do know what a speculum is, btw.
Why am I asking her that? Shhe's gone off to bed now.
I think Scrabs has gone to bed -- my guess is that it exists just the same way as Barbie's parts do.
'Night, Miz.
jilli - I now have some kind of porno image in my mind to try to sleep on.
Hey all, how ya doing?
So that should be fun, jac <vbg>
Hi Krista
Hello, krista.
Barbie speculum..sounds scary.
back in a mo -- refreshing my preprandial vodka
jilli - NO! Other half has to be up and ready for work, with my help, at about 3:15am (an hour from now here in UK).
stuck on last two: sc the middle ones. got the first and last. two im middle are tough.
It does, doesn't it, krista?
some things come up with a web search..check it out
I actually got fireworks today..a rarity (still haven't installed the video version darn it)
krista how about a clue for the sc six words???????
sc6/39 adds the sometimes vowel to the thread sc5/20 before it. sc6/21 means 'looks into a crystal ball' or try s + c that a baby does... lots and lots if it wants something.
back and refreshed
Welcome back, jilli. An, Krista - no, I don't want to Google 'Barbie speculum'.
mkg - I clued those for you. Read back!
there ya go, mkg..Jac did it
de6/21 please
He (?) asked before your clues showed up.
Someone else give this clue... PLEASE.
I'm going to have to put the clue in my bio otherwise, as was suggested earlier.
ty jac...........got them and firewrks
to remove the husk from a grain
Welll done, mkg and thanks for not making me say it again.
googling barbie speculum comes up with some funny stuff, lol
or, not the actual meaning, but "to remove bacteria"
Yes, I thought so too, Jilli!
golfer - de6 = to remove those nasty, disease-making bugs.
haha krista -- so you did it too!
(my clues were for you, Golfer)
jilli - Well, I didn't.
and golfer, my succnct clue was "disinfect"
i have that one i need the 6/21
Oh, you were probably getting your vodka when I told Jac she should Google it (did ya get me some?)
I'm not that interested in seeing what I think I might see re Barbie.
no, I saw that, krista -- I had submitted my guess as to the meaning before googling
oh jac, it's hilarious!
Just scrolled down..yep, you were right, Jilli!
Sorry golfer..add s to the de 5/12
I didn't go to any of the sites -- just some of the descriptions were off the wall
Do you need that one?
same here, Jilli..I was scared to click on "images" :)
I've been more amused by the cat waking you up video from youtube this past few days. We've never allowed our cats access to the bedroom anyway - not that that stopped 'desperate to leave the house for the night, Hunting Cat, earlier... when I was 'on my throne, magazine in hand, door locked... he smashed handle down, unlocking handle lock and burst in to tell me, yet again, that he wanted to go outside.
never even considered that, krista, lol!
ty
de6/30?
Surely, Golfer.
So ther was I, in the middle of... and now all exposed to anyone who might try to enter by virtue of door being open! GRRR!
yes, jac, funniest video I've seen in ages, and too true, except my old girl can no longer jump up on the bed. But she can SHOUT!
There was a video going around of a cat flushing a toilet, too...
Bloody cat!
de 6/30: to remove the husk from a grain..or, not the actual meaning, but "to remove bacteria"
de6/30?
Did you blush, jac? Not bloody likely!
remove bugs
got it, thanks!
do u have a link to that one, or a name I can search for?
wr 5/18?
kbckc, it's been clued several times -- just scroll back a bit
I think de6/30 might be the clue that gives me a fatal coronary!
nevermind
thanks
de6/30 remove bacteria
jilli - I didn't blush for the cat invading, no!
wr + apple and pumpkin p*** minus the p
krista -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qiGyxP plAw
ok, drem
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone?
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! YAY!
Greetings and salutations, min!
darn, can't get it to work..will have to type it in...Hey Min! Nice to see you.
krista -- here's a better URL: http://tinyurl.com/2xf3uv
do you have the name of it?
tx..watching it..
http://tinyurl.com/2xf3uv
BTW, gang, the tinyurl site is a HUGE help and so simple to use -- TinyURL.com
I got fireworks!I was able to do this one solo tonight!
I'lll post the link in my bio, methinks.
I never had a cat, but that's very similar to what my rabbit used to do!! LOL! Cute stuff.
Yay, Min! I gave in and got clues for my last 6 words.
YAYAY Minveryork!!! Well done -- It may have been short but it was tough in spots, possibly like the curate's egg
Off to watch Boston Legal..night ladies and gents, if any are still here.
well, I am just about the biggest moron on the planet !! I got myself locked out of my house!
LOL mrpresident!
f**king idiot me was not even dressed!! so I couldn't go get help!
Goodbye Krista! I'll see you tomorrow in the chat log!
HOW, MrP? You were supposed to be in bed!
note brief: do NOT go out on the back patio and call for the cat in nothing but a leopard print neglige and no underwear...
bye krista -- I'll be off soon to watch Corrie while I get supper(tea in Corrietalk although I think only Jacula knows what I'm talking about)
especially when it is a windy day and there is no spare key!
Not biggest moron on the planet, MrP. I almost got that award myself, had I told anyone and not ripped skin in order not to... I glued myself to a smiley face outside my back door.
mrpresidents that reminds of the movie When a Man Loves a Woman. Meg Ryan's character tells of a time when she locked herself out of the house in the nude.
LOL mrp!!! At least it isn't midwinter! And how did you get back in to the computer?
jilli - It's dinner in middle class talk. Only working classes have tea at night. LOL.
MrP sounds like me now! I had the same gear on when I got stuck to the 'smiley'. Oh, LOL.
oh my... that is a story! I had to find the ladder (it is really heavy with only one arm in use) and prop it against my balcony and climb up! I had to pull myself up for the last 2 metres! Far out! never again will I do that!!
And no one to take a video to the YouTube library! you tease you ;-)
MrP! You stupid moo!
LOL jac! I love my sexy underwear, but not for the rest of the neighbourhood to see! I could no possibly get anyone to help me dressed like that!!
So like myself.:(
correction -- to add to the
Hi, all

Hi, Wolfie. Stop taking the p*ss. We love our sexy undies,

JADE!
Will stay to hear Woulfie's new job news and then go up to get Other Half up for work and then retire in disgust at self for knocking last glass of wine over.
DAWGER!
sorry
just a bit loopy
how come jade?
she's drunk
JAC!
Hello Jadeomoan! How are you? Welcome to the grid!
I am responsible for coordinating the sales and acquistion of used and reconditioned equipment for the region -- it is a lateral shift that doesn't requir me to find out how to stuff 20 pounds of stuff into a 5 pound bag
and prezz is an exhibitionist
Jade - you and me loopy together.
NUTTY!
I'm not THAT drunk...
I'm just fuzzy
and gw is to be congratulated!!!!
Prezz likes sexy undies, as do I.
heyhey, nutnut -- long time no chat

Hi evanonut! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid

It is so scary, Jade. Glad it is still standing
too too too too too toot
omg - did you hear what mrp did? I gotta say - the thought of a gorgeous woman as she is, wearning a see through leopard teddy climbing a ladder onto a balcony in broad daylight - And I missed it!
I agree Pam...
Whoa!
you're too late lickety
No pictures!
Hi All btw. I need therapy to get this outta my head now.
Lickety, i wonder who DIDN"T miss it? lol
Dang IT!
lol
Um.....why would you want it out of your head, Lickety???
You'd think you'd want it to stay there
hey lickety -- just think about how we feel! After all you live with her!!
Lickety - hubby, you, missed it? Oh, LOL!
howdee buddies, here to kill the last few woids afore dinner
hi Gwen
Wolfie - take a few deep breaths! Think 'control'.
howdy Gwen
Bah! control is for when you are face to face :-D
jade - Frustration, Tension - don't go well with me. I don't want to be teased.
well, that's what us girls do best lickey
hiya GW

nighty night nutty nut
Honey, I will replay the whole thing for you later... you can rescue me if you like?? wear a fireman's helmet.... and say "don't worry mame! I'll save you!" (swoon)
That's why I've never understood why so many guys like looking at magazines and videos etc. If you can't have it why punish yourself - Better yet go live it.
Unfortunately jacula I'm about an hour away. Mrp - oh yeah - now that's getting more like it!
Hmmm! Hot! Think we should all vacate chatlog now! Leave the lovers in peace.
oooh Damsel in distress, scene one...
I can feel a XXXX video coming on!.... LOL
act one
(completely confused by the chat and wondering whether she should mention it) LOL
We'd need the right music to fit too mrp - something seventies
MrP/Lickety - go onto text or a messenger service now.
TALK TO NUT for the music!!
Pack it in!
how about some Barry White?
i hear the beegees...
(running back into the grid)
and btw, FIREWORDS!!!!!!!!
whoooo hooooo WOULFIE
Gwen - got to get Oher Half up for work now, he's late already! No chance of a sex life here with his present hours! GRRR!
Wolfie's 'arrived'. LOL
hahah - jacula - ok, no more here - didn't want to frustrate more than just me ;-)
too late lickety!
Humph!
UNO
Might BBS. Dunno.
Seems I've lost mrp - She must be out looking for a fireman's helment.
yeah, with a hot fireman in it! LOL
Honey - remember to walk past the mirror before you open the door ;-)
i think you need to be heading home Lickety. there's definitely a fire that needs to be put out at your house!

Hi Babblers.
Hi relarion!
Hi relarion
hi relarion!! How you going??
fireworks
Doing well! Lovely weather here today. You guys?
we need to change the pace of this chat... and I will never look at the word 'fireworks' the same way again... thanks lickety
wow...ya'll are like...really...ummm....needing some alone time
He relarion! Well done Merk. oh fireworks
whoooo hooooo MERK
okay i am stuck on the de6/30 and begging commences now
And to think I was the one who always said that the Babble chat was the best on the net - because it never went south. Big Wooopsssy
to remove infectious microbes, Gwen
hey -- you never left PG status, lickety
hmmm, i think i got it GW, lessee . . .
we've talked about Aussies before.
How are your progressing mrPres?
so at best you are more east by southeast
yay hooray i got it
"you" I meant
thanks Woulf - we'll leave it in the Fantasy area I think.
doing nicely rela! arm is about 30% functioning again, so am able to do most things, but slowly. Have started physio so that will help enormously
fireworks have occurred.
Yayyyy for BDG!!!
Fantastic. That will really move you along mrpres.
whoooo hooooo GWEN
Yayyy gwen!!!
short puzzle but still, i like waiting to that last minute to finish LOL
Great to hear, mrp!! I've been away too much to keep up with you
I must revise my bio. That would help I guess :)
leaving the windows closed tonight. too cold again
You should revise it, all of Babbleland wants to know :=)
ok, will do!
anyone here tried the new beta game over at weboggle? easy to win since it is beta and there aren't a lot of players yet. also you can suggest a name for the new game, ifyou want
Well, I'm off to have lunch, Please everyone continue to warm up mrp after her little adventure. See ya at the flip. Hope you didn't strain your arm mrp.
wishing you speedy recovery, MrP!
We'll take care of her L.
bye lickety
Btw, I have the movie Happy Feet on in the background here --- what a cool flick! Though I find it a bit annoying that the best musicals these days are all animated
see y'all soon, off to mess around at weboggle now . . . *poink!*
thanks lickety... am comfortable numb now. Got the heat pack on the arm. See you later!
Thanks everyone. Woulf - the best musical I saw recent was Tenacious D and the Pick o f Destiny
night Gwen
anyone have a clue for te6/24? it's my last one
you know.... I haven't touched weboggle ever since I discovered Babble!
past tense of the te4, MM
nevermind got it
monkey, past tense of the 4.5
FIREWORKS
woulf, you have to get in with teambabble. it is a hoot!
Yayyy for MM!!
whoooo hooooo Monkey
Yippeee monkey
I will look into it, mrp
yay monkey!
Lickety -- I am talking about full musical with complete choreography and dance routines that work to help convey the plot
Gwen - yes, tried the new Webogle out earlier.
Lickty - chat never goes 'south@? You obvously didn't read all the achrives. LOL
Oh, and how come I've suddenly become the one 'responsible' for getting someone up for work when his alarm goes off at 3am? LOL
Sorry for typing errors. Tired!
Anyway, Mr Gumpy's gone off to work now and not without pinching my bum... yet again. *grins*
*GRumpy
Most of the 'best' films seem to be mostly animated or animatronic now, Wolfie. Bring back 1940s Hollywood is what I say!
Team Babble on weboggle is great when we get together. We're unbeatable.
Seem to be talking to myself now.
Hi Jacula :=)
that is my biggest problem with modern cinema, Jac -- the production companies are too in love with their computer graphics departmet -- it is almost as if they are afraid of having to deal with live people anymore for anything other than line delivery
Hi, relarion. I'm not all alone then.
Wolfie - That's what I feel, too.
No Jac! I have 12 left, trying to finish and go watch TV.
Live peope cost more, and have emotons, which cause production problems, Wolfie.
and this is bad, why?
I think you mean "emoticons" Jacula ;)
after all, doesn't the audience consist of live people who have emotions
Or even emotions. LOL. Though I guess the 'overweight' ones (more than size 0) might be the ones with emotons!
Wolfie - just the point I was getting to.
back again... lunch was nice!
Today's world seems to be mostly about money, wolfie.
HI again mrpres. Glad lunch worked for you.
MrP. What did you eat?
BTW, MRP, my P says you and me are 'tarta' but he means it in the nicest possible way.;)
*tarts not tarta.
woulf, maddison and I went to see a ballet that came from NYC... "Grandivas - Men in Tutus" It was just spectaculor! I must say I much prefer theatre to movies. Hollywood are bringing out 18 movies a month! Very sad. I prefer when it was 2 movies a month and alot of thought was put into it
Paul is right!
MrP - Yup! In the nicest possible way. We love our men.
We do! they bring out the tartiness in us! :))
We brunettes are sensational, aren't we, MrP? Don't ask us to visit you... I won't take the risk, LOL.
but my biggest problem with theatre is the cost, otherwise I would love to attend on a regular basis
I think there is nothing more romantic and loving than a man who makes you feel sexy and beautiful... that is true love
It is indeed, MrP. That's the key to it all.
oh yes woulf! we BOTH paid $90 a ticket... that is each!!! It is soooo expensive, but worth it a couple of times a year
LOL jac! if you visited us, we would never ever sleep! it would be 20 bottles of wine a day and laughing our asses off!
Wolfie - Have you tried going to local theatres and Amateur Dramtic productions? Our 'Am Dram' group were pretty awful 20 odd years ago, though they'd been going since the 50s. They're so slick and good now.
mind you! you are always welcome!
MrP - don't tempt me! Jus t knocked my very last glass of white over and am now poaching P's red wine. I will regret that later when I have to focus to work.
seems to me that after 20 bottles of wine, you couldn't avoid the sleeping!
LOL! you are a little vixen jac!
I just realised something cool... I have been here for 2 years! chatting with you beautiful people almost every day! It is nice to have friends like you. After 2 years, it feels like family
Wolfie - 20 bottles of wine divided by 4 = 5 bottles of wine each. Yeah, sleeping, after crashing around and bruising yourself and wrecking most breakable things in the house might be an option.
MrP - same here. ((HUGS))
holy crow! my two year babble anniversary is tomorrow!
How lovely, mrpres. The Babble group is so nice.
((( hugs ))) !!! our anniversary has to be celebrated!!
Happy 2nd annivrsary, Wolfie.
oh relarion! it is the nicest group on the net! We are blessed :D
happy 2nd anniversary woulf and jac!
relarion, let me tell you how wonderful babblers are....
definite family... I don't want to consider how bland the net would be if I could never 'see' my fellow Babbleonians
Definitely, mrpresident!
Actually, if I'd consumed 5 bottles of wine I doubt I could even get up to cras into anything.
wow this is an r rated chat tonight
Or even crasH. Oh lol.
ruru - I've heard that term 'r' rated before. What does it mean?
lol
restricted audience
{{{***Anniversary Hugs***}}}
usually 18 and older
I have 7 to go and am really running out of steam...sc 6.21 pls?
mamabear has sent me some of the most beautiful gifts, and even to my children! My daughter has a toy polar bear she loves to death!! My son has a teddy bear from her that he can't be without. You are such a lovely lady! You sent me a CD that I love listening to in the car! It is just wonderful and it cheers me up! Joso is sending me a box of comics for my son to help him with is asperger! I can't begin to tell you how lovely and kind and caring people on babble are. Thank you all
Jac -- it refers to the movie rating system utilised in the US
rel - sc6/21 means 'looks into a crytal ball'. s + what a baby does... lots.
s + cr 5/12
{{{mrpres}}} *sniff*
Thx jac!
*Wipes tear from eye due to MrP's post.*
y/w, rel.
sniff...
I'm verklempt
Wlofie - what we in UK used to call an X fil, then.
filM.
Ratings have changed now.
not X is a bit heavier
Thin 'r' may be 'pa' here? Parental Advisory.
not that I have watched any or anything ...
yes jac
Or maybe 15 and over. LOL
X is porn here... R is over 18, M+15 is over 15, M is with parental supervision, PG is parental guidance, and G... well you can take your goat to a G film
the rating system here is G, PG, R, NC-17, and X
Never watched an 'x', ruru? You've not lived! LOL
baaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I just hate seeing men explotied like that
lol
exploited
8-D
The Exorcist got banned here for years! I was one of the ones that watched it when it first came out (I was about 14 or 15, I think?)
LOL ruru!
now that was a creepy movie
the exorcist is one of the scariest movies ever!
ruru - Oh, LOL. You mean those awful moustaches they have to sport?
absolute;y
I have never seen the Exorcist in its entirety
I stood in line for an hour in the freezing New York cold to see the exorcist. Had such nightmares that night.
me too
same here woulf, I just can't watch it... same as Amityville Horror... too freaky
The Exorcist (orignal version) is on my film shelves now, but not put there by me! I never want to see it again. Gave me nightmares.
Nor have I seen the Amityville Horror, despite my cousins living only a few blocks away from the real house
I can't watch any Linda Blair movie thereafter
ewwwwww
Fireworks!
yeah rel************
cute doggy
my problem, mrp, is that I just don't ever have the time to see it
Yayyy for Rel!!!
Amityville Horror (1st) was also pretty nightmareish. Today's kids are far harder than we were. They're all looking forward to 'Saw 4'. Didn't even see no.1 after my darling daughter described plot to me. I can READ anything, but not watch stuff. I'm such a wimp!
the worst thing about amityville horror.... after watching that, I woke up every night at 3.15am... and it freaked me out! Then, I would find my pyjamas folded neatly at the foot of my bed... the pyjamas I had put on when I went to bed.
lol
I love your doggie ru, you must be the proudest papa.
yes
he is the greatest ever
Wolfie - does your cousin have nightmares? Has your cousin watched the film?
famous too
I love my woofie too! will go get her pic
just coming in and hearing the discussion - Uh - MrP - you're freaking me out!
bbl got to cook din din
Is that the sheltie mrpres?
My cousins saw the film and weren't all that impressed -- heck, 20 years ago they used to have an annual Halloween party in the house
I LOVE scary movies though... my faves are 70's era British ones...
Carrie was a pretty scarey film in its time, too. Thing is, I'd read the book before I saw the film so I was the only one in the cinema who didn't jump a mile in the air at the end.
Bye ru. I'm sliding on out of here too.
I thought The Ring was really scary.
rel -- now that is the only movie I have seen in twenty years that truly creeped me out!
saintfranny - if you'd been in the chatlog an hour ago, you'd have seen MrP setting the scene for a lurve movie with her hubby.
my ex and I saw the Exorcist when it first came out--I was totally traumatized--when we got home and I went in the bathroom, "as a joke" he flipped off the power . . .
Yeah Woulf...I hated the horse part. It had a really good payoff though.
and apparently, the original Japanese film that it is based on, 'Ringu', is even more intense
There is a show on TLC here called "A Haunting" - dramatizations of real life hauntings. Luv it. Also a new one from Canada called "Rescue Mediums" - wow!
ahhhhh ok Jac. *blushing*
I threatened to kill him with nail scissors if he tried to come in
Really, Woulf! Wow. Hard to imagine.
rel -- my favorite part was when her son says "You didn't let her out!"
My husband sometimes jumps out of the dark and scares me "just for fun."
Hmm woulf, am blanking...
Ever see "Blair Witch"? my husband thought it would be "funny" to, while I left the room, to go stand in the corner of the room facing the wall, so when I came back, he was just standing there like that. NOT FUNNY
I was NOT amused!
oh, jeez!
saintfranny, literally lol imagining that
There's a 'psycho' shower curtain available on line to by. It feature's the 'old' lady with knife raised.... just what you want to see at that moment when the shampoo's in your eyes, isn't it?
:) well... i mean, it Is funny, but at the moment, OMG - we had just seen it, and i Freaked
That is where the Japanese influence really carried over, because in western belief systems, finding the physical remains of a ghost and then burying them in sanctified ground is supposed to put the troubled spirit to rest
Of course you freaked! Yikes.
Good heavens! Just got back from dinner to find Jacula still here at what must be about 4:30 am in the UK!
my buddies and I saw Psycho on my 11th bday--my dad took us--he thought it was VERTIGO--was totally terrified!!!!
Une, saw it with my mom and kept burying my head in her fur coat.
Oh, and if you want a real bellly laugh, try putting blaaderwrack ( a kind of seaweed) in your beloved's shower water (if they put the plug in) after they've watched 'Jaws'. LOL
i locked the bathroom door for over a year . . . and kept jumping out of the tub to be sure it was still locked!!!!!
ok, back... hi une! :)
That's so cute une.
hi franny! :)
hey, mrp!!
I have to admit, I never was one for horror films when I was younger, but once I was in college, I finally started trying to get caught up
Nitenite everyone.
But will these new animated films still have scarey powers so many years on?
I doubt it.
nitenite rela! have a good sleep! :)
gotta run--SWEET DREAMS, EVERYONE . . . Bwahhhaahhhaa
bye une!
Wolfie - but did you read the pan Horror stories?
Surely everyone 12/13 reads horror stories??
'Bye, Une.
Jac -- I read horror, but classic horror such as Edgar Allan Poe and H P Lovecraft
Le Faneau, too, Wolfie?
g'nite rel and une!
I was 14 when I used to go with pals to horror movies and I remember one scene with zombies rising out of the sea -- and that's all
But oh, Poe!!!
nope, haven't read Le Faneau -- truthfully, I read horror for only about a year and then swapped over to primarily SF and Fantasy
Yes, fascination with horror is noral at 112/13 Problem these days is that it's acted out through pc games and then sometimes into life. The border between fantasy and reality has become blurred or non-existant for some.
Jac, you ignored my question about your still being up at this hour
my only experience with SF is Robert Heinlein
That's when I truly discovered that a solid base in the classics of literature are a necessity, because so much of the SF of the 60's and 70's had storylines inspired by them
jilli - I didn't. I said that I was still up because i'm not in bed yet.
in high school i was in a real Stephen King groove - read Everything.. finally, one of them pushed me over the limit - i know it involved a lawnmower - never read one again
Check back, jilli.
franny -- I have read all but three books by Heinlein -- In college Stranger in a Strange Land was my Bible
I loved the book by Clifford Simak called "city", when the world was run by DOGS
Pet Semetary wasthe one too far for me, saintfranny! Nightmaresville!
yes, a friend introduced me to SIASL when we first met. I *grokked* it easily
I haven't stopped reading Sk's bookss though.
Simak is another of my favs -- I just finished rereading "The Fellowship of the Talisman" two days ago and am about to do the same with City
Glad to hear that, GW!
what category does Richard Bach fall into? i like his stuff a lot
James Herbert's 'Magic Cottage' is well worth a weekedn rea. Kept me and P reading on our holiday together a year or two ago.
For a long time I considered the Holy Trinity of SF to be Asimov, Bradbury, and Clarke with Heinlein as their Prophet and other classic authors such as Ellison and Simak to be their apostles
I think I've only read one or two SK books -- early ones. Enuf awreddy
Good evening all...
hi rocky :)
Wolfie - I once thought that, too, re authors... but then it expands.
It's so long ago that I read SF -- preferred writers with a sense of humour and can't remember who they were.
Hi Rocky
So, you all are discussing SF. I'm reading The Forge of God now.
jilli - I preer sense of humour authors, also.
Sometimes, though, that is to be found lurking in the writing.
let's see, jilli -- that was one of my criteria for awhile -- Fredric Brown was great
and Simak definitely helped to set the standard
Most successful SF writers do not take themselves seriously.
Thank the Lord!
I also loved Gordon Dickson's 'The Dragon and the George'
Amen!
jilli.;0
About Jacula's remark -- haven't read the Dragon but I might have a look
jilli - it started out as a short story, which was very good, but then he expanded it into a novel which was absolutely great -- he then went on to turn it into a series of novel
Of course, my favorite supporting character in the first novel, who didn't appear in the short story, is Aargh -- the English Wolf
Speaking of famous writers, I guess you lot have all heard by now, if you hadn't guessed already that JKR's hero, Dumbledore, is 'gay'?
I only mention it because it was mentioned in the papers after she said it. It was a 'given', from the start, wasn't it?
personally, it doesn't matter to me
Surely only 'that kind' of wizard coud have wisely controlled such a school
same here about Dumbledore -- why bother
Can anyone clue the DE6/30?
I truly don't understand the importance that society places on a person's race, creed, and/or sexuality -- especially in a work of fiction, unless it is relevant to the plot
to remove infectious microbes, sally
at last Fireworks
Yayyy for diem!!
It will only provoke the idot fringe who wants the books banned because they "promote evil wizardry" and "satanic cults", ach.
Good grief, that's a word? Who would have thought?
YAY diem!!!
welcome to the enable dictionary where that words that don't make sense are, and words that should be aren't!!
the, not that
ths all got to go to work(nightshift)bye
I'm off to sleep now, at long last. eaving with Dumbldore in mind, It didn't matter, why are you all so upst about it? But it was relevant to him doing what he did. He was a hero. *Exit to Freddie Mercury's version of the BritishNational Anthem
a persons race/sexuality/belief is so important in today's society! look at how many people are being belittled. I just have to go to my children's school to see what an impact it has on society. They are very 'concerned' about it and pick on eachother for it. as adults, we hardly ever comment, but when we do, it is a big deal... for children, it is an everyday assult
have a good night, diem
jac -- who's upset? Not me
nite jac work well diem
mrp -- there is a HUGE uproar around here because of a video that was shown in a few elementary schools on the subject of family
MrP the term 'gay', which once meant happy or bright, is now an insult. That's v. sad.
all of a sudden I have something stupid coming in on my c omputer's speakers...
must reboot I guess
The producers of the video dared to include some non standard examples of family with either two dads or two moms
I must go now. Knackered!
absolutely jac! my husband told the kids he was singing a gay song.... they were upset cause they thought he was going to sing about homosexuals! And they thought that was not PC!
The local parents forced a public hearing to get the video removed
GW, that happened here with a school that read books to kids about same sex families... the school got a beating
I don't understand closed minds like that -- would they rather their children get misinformation from their classmates and the uncontrolled access to info on the internet?
it is important to teach kids to tolerate... cause they don't tolerate anything! I was explaining to babblers the other night about my son being bullied and put down because of his asperger. If the school would 'educate' the kids about differences, we wouldn't have to cry for my son
oh yes gw! reminds me of something else that happened to my daughter
http://tinyurl.com/32f4z7
as we all know, she is an angel from heaven, put here on earth to love us and teach us to care for eachother.... so, I tell you this with a heavy heart
my daughter and her friend, Diana, were playing around... Maddison was trying to kiss her on the cheek and Diana was trying to run away, but laughing and joking about it (these kids are 9).
One of the things which disgusted me about those recent trolls was their choice of epithets -- "you're so GAY" being one of them.
Another of her friends comes up to her and tells her that what she is doing is 'raping' her friend... and Maddison says, it is just fun, we are playing... Her 'idiot' friend says to her that she is pretend raping Diana!!
OMG!! That is ridiculous!
I wanted to kill that child! I had to explain to my daughter what rape was, and to tell her there is no such thing as 'pretend rape'.... that is is very serious and a crime. She was crying cause she though she had commited rape! I am going to thump that bloody child who told her that!
do 9-yr-olds have any idea what that means?
jilli, the shit that kids come out with amazes me!
http://tinyurl.com/create.php - My belovee Freddie's version of the growing up song.
once I explained it to Maddison, she knew she had done nothing of the sort
well, I guess they listen to eminem and such instead of reading Kipling and Dickens
thanks jac :)
But then, we just had a 7 yo suspended from school for a day because he doodled a picture of himself pointing a pistol at his friend -- both faces had smiles but the teacher over reacted due to the schools zero tolerance firearms policy
When the press talked to his mom, she said that he told her it was just a water pistol that he drew
yes gw! I agree with that... my son would have said the same cause he has never ever seen a gun or a person fire a gun, even on TV. But he knows about water pistols and he calls them 'drippers'.
But we have become so gun paranoid that a child, who is supposed to be innocent and allowed to have fun, was punished for the sins of people much older than himself
I miss the days of innocence *wistful look on face*
I miss the days where you could take a walk after dark and not be harassed by the police if they saw you

our country has a no gun policy... we just don't condone it. And you never ever see kids playing those games like cops & robbers or cowboys & indians. Just isn't part of our culture
TinyURL.com is a wonder
bbl, time for my nap... love that song jac. bye!
happy napping, mrp
g'nite mrp -- see you soon
hey, peeps! just sticking my head in a minute. Do we know how the CA people are?
bet the next grid is HUGE because it's my library day
hi tyger :)
haven't heard anything recently, tyger
I'm off, too, now. Just must say that Freddie loved life, had no intention of dying young; it was a horrible accident, of the sort where you take a riak, thinking, ;that won't happen to me'. I hope Biran May got that message across when he played the UK National Anthem (LOL) on the roof of Buckingham Palace.
jilli, I bet it's huge cos I got to finish a grid two days in a row!
jilli, people have been predicting a huge grid for days, and we haven't had one. But maybe you're right :)
I don't need to give a link to the video, I hope?
Night jac -- hope you don't have to get up early, lol!
nite, jac
niters, Jac!
About 5 hours' time, jilli. I'll be fine.
sleep hard, jac :)
I want it to rain!!!!!
Sorry! Freddie's a subject close to my hear - even though I am hetero.
lullaby, and good night, jac
we've been having rain here. Love to send it to ya :)
I'd rather sleep softly, tyger.
Brahms, jilli?
it is currently 73 degrees outside and October is almost over! The weather man says that after the front comes through the temp will drop to the mid 60's like it is supposed to
may you get your wish, jac
GW -- I DON'T want it to rain again -- here -- but California can have all that's been falling here
wolfie, I thought we on the Coast were the only ones having a "hot" fall
It looked and felt promising this afternoon, but right now I have my stinking air conditioner on so I won't sweat!
tyger - I'm off to listen to a lullaby from my Freddie and then sleep.
but forecast says we'll be back in the 70s by the weekend
GW -- while you have time, how about fixing your profile which says winter is over....?
enjoy, jac
jilli -- you can have dry weather, I prefer it as well, but these high temps at night are ridiculous
even down here, 100 miles from the Gulf, I'm not used to having to run the A/C daily, and we've had to. Today was the 1st cool day
it's been a pretty dry fall. We're not as minus on rain as GA, Al, FL - not like 2000
GW, we had a cold wet "summer" and la niña is promising a cold wet or snowy winter here where it's supposed to be mild
evening everyone
thanks, jilli -- done
err...good morning for some
hey, Cathy
Hi Cath
Hi Cathyar!
it's late evening where I am
we have had some absolutely perfect temp days this past week, but now they seem to be going up when they should be dropping
wondering how our california friends are faring with the wildfires.
I'm gonna hafta go. the carpal tunnel is making itself known tonite [sigh]
Tyger, how about going pro so we can all see where you are and who you are (I know she's a fellow Gt Dane ex-breeder!)
sorry to hear that, tyger -- always great chatting with a new friend
I'd love to, but the budget on SS-disability is not generous :(
Dang, tyger!
Hey -- one-time $15 -- price of about 3 lattes!
oh, the CTS isn't my worst problem. I hafta keep perspective. I know folks with far worse problems
don't drink latte :)
too bad we can't set up a donation program, so we could help our more restricted fellow babblers go pro
you know what I mean ;)
I have a dear friend with cerebral palsy. Lisa is mid-40s, and her body is falling apart on her
well, herinfernalady benefitted from a wonderful donor
yeah, jilli. I know. But this is an especially bad month, budget-wise
my monitor died, then I discovered that a necessary change from shoe inserts to built-up soles multiplied the cost by a factor of SIX! :( :(
i can relate tyger.....not long out of a bad financial situation myself.
times 3 pairs of shoes. I've messed up one foot by wearing worn-out shoes [sigh]
well, the important thing is to stay around and enjoying game and the company, tyger!
let's change the subject, okay?
sheesh...i just invested another $2k into a brand new puter which should be arriving in awhile.
have fun, Cath :)
gaaah -- terrible sentence structure but you know what I mean I hope, lol
are you ready for Vista? :P
yes, of course, jilli :D
not sure...i've been running the old win 98 on a 10 year old system...we'll see!
A friend of mine upgraded to Vista and is cursing the decision ever since
ohmygawd
can't get updates for win98 anymore...
Cathy, do you have a nearby computer geek friend?
you'll need him/her
Vista is a trip
Help with se 4/4, sc 4/7 and te 6/24 please?
yeah, but there'll be patches and upgrades for Vista.
yeah...i have IT friends where i work
my aide got a computer with it, and it flummoxed me
Win XP is just fine. It weren't broke so why fix it with Vista? I haven't heard of anybody who likes it.
oh, good. folks from work will be able to help you
jilli, they wanted more money
He ended up wanting to downgrade back to XP and practically had to reformat in order to do so
ahh...i once thought that about win98 se too jilli...till they stopped providing updates etc.
well cath, after 9 years of bug testing by the general public one would hope win 98 didn't need any more bug fixes
Micro$oft has always been about the money
98 was the best thing that came along, at the time
lol...no...but the security patches constantly need updating yes?
I didn't like XP at first, but I grew to like it very well
really gotta go. nytall :)
Well... it is time for me to say good night -- I hope to chat with you all soon
nite, wolfie
we work on XP at work...i like it well enough, but thought i'd challenge myself with the new stuff...hope i can make it thru.
{{**HUGS for all**}} ttfn
nite, everybody
right back atcha! :)
yeah...i should too...been off work sick and with a bad back the past few days....hugs and nite nite GW and tyger...tyger...when u can, go pro ...it has its advantages
xp is good, a minor improvement to 98. 95 was the big one, great improvement over 3.11
from what i hear, i've alot to learn when i start with vista...
Habes there are 2 se4/4s -- diff cons before the last letter. sc4/7 - s + what a baby might do. te 6/24, and past tense to the word before it
gawd...win98 u had to make sure to scan disk and defrag consistently...what kind of maintenance stuff is there to do with vista?
haven't heard much good about vista yet
i hope good eventually will come then joso! i just invested a pile of money into a new better-into-the-future system
habes, that's add past tense
course...i guess i could buy a better o/s if vista doesn't work out
good luck with it cath
yer scarin me joso!
sorry cath
lol...well...we'll see what happens i guess...i let y'all know once i get my new system up n runnin'.
Has everyone chosen an icon for United Nations Day?
does anyone know what the major complaints are about vista?
just spent 5 hours trying to migrate files from an xp hard drive to a new vista machiene. found a way, will take the owner a month to do, file by file. Securety system got in the way]
Cath, our library installed it on one computer and hardly anything works
may can't figure out how to turn it off, off button hidden
oh gawd...
ok...soo...is there no taskbar with the shut down option?
sheesh...hopefully i'll still be able to babble!
the on/off symbol puts it in sleep mode, off is under an arrowhead botton
it's pretty though
so lots of different things then
what is the i word
lol...looks aren't everything huh joso! ;)
to irritate geekmeister
lucky for me
whats the i word
geek -- angers
that looks arn't everything, lol
to raise one's ir* +plural
found it
wtg geek
lol beauty is skin deep (or on-screen pretty/nice lookin system) but if ya can't deal with the "depth"...there's the challenge
i think i'm not loooking forward to my new vista system...might let it sit in the box till my 10-yr-old system with win98 dies
If there were a way to get BabbleExpert on a Mac I'd change rather than go to Vista for my next puter
hey jilibus! There is one way to get Babble Expert on a MAC
oooh...lickety...have u been lurking?
someone send lickety a MAC so he attempt it ;-)
OH??? There are several Mac people who would like to know that, Lickety!
cath - I come and go all the time
methinks lickety may also be a vista non-appreciater too?
u better tell jilli how, lickety, so she can "spread the word" to her mac buds
Mac advocates tell me one can run Windows on Macs now -- would that enable (pardon the expression) BabbleEspert?
Microsoft has had a distrust of the user for a long time. they seem to try to prevent the user from tampering with the system, putting more and more distance between the user and the actual computer. this is fine as long as it all goes well and the user doesn't want to do anything odd or unuseral. If they do then they find more and more walls between them and what they want to do.
cath - I'm using Vista right now. It's pretty good. A couple of things caught me - but overall I think it's a step in the right direction if you have a powerful enough PC.
jilibus - windows on MAC yes - There is a BabbleExpert user out there now using it on Mac Parrallels
But to get it running on all MACS I need a MAC
ok...well...i had some pretty good advice from an IT person at work before i bought. thank you for reassuring me lickety. hopefully i can learn my way thru it
Ha! That's encouraging, Lickety!
so - if someone can buy me one - I'll give it a go.
TY Jillibus - Fireworks with 6 minutes left. I'm happy.
lol lickety!!!!!! u lookin for freebie!? ;)
yay habes!
YAY Habes!!! I thought you hadn't noticed the clues!
Well - I can't afford to buy a MAC, and at only reason right now for me to have one is to make a version of BabbleExpert that runs on it.
u prob deserve a freebie for all the help u give from yer clues page
We should poll the babblers and see who has Macs and who will put something in the kitty
I did notice. TY. New to this. Second time for fireworks. Bedtime. Have to rest up for tomorrow!
BabbleExpert works fabulously on a Mac via Parallels, since it has no idea it's not running in a "normal" installation of Windows. Should work just as good in Virtual PC on a Mac, too. Or VMWare.
hmm...u should charge like at least a buck for people to access your babble clues
**digs in pockets to look for a dollar for lickety**
contribution to the mac
thanks cath - but I don't want your money
Welcome back, frogtaco! Good news!
Hi, and thanks!
***breathes sigh of relief*** ;)
