today was our ( mra, motorcycle riders assoc'n ) 30th annual toy run, where we collect toys etc from the bikies in our state and hand them over to the salvation army for distribution to those in nedd.
that's great rmc, the bike clubs here do that too.
we have been planning since last april, there's such a lot to do for an event this size.
we had 13,000 bikes from the city centre alone, plus a few rides in from outlying districts.
that must have been cool to see rose, i don't know if we get that many here.

it is a real tree, that is why the sheet is under the tree and the red bag is a tree bag. Before you take the tree out you bring the bag up around the tree and tie it off. It is a God send.

The real problem begins when the dried out tree is taken outdoors again by 'the men'. If catches either side of the door or window frame and the needles S P R I N G! EVERYWHERE.

Well, I'd like to say that I have NEVER been a drug addict, despite living through the 60s/70s etc.. but, I smoke, I drink, I don't smole grass, but I DO remember the squits medicine. Just as well as wasn't born in the 180s, eh?
I am glad that children no longer die regularly of diarrheal illnesses -- or measles; that I have a warm house with big windows (those two used to be mutually exclusive)... I think the good old days might have been better in some ways, but certainly not in all.
