that may be ruru, but one I've never heard of!
or part of an alloy I think
yeah i am not sure either cyber
I would have never found it without sneaking a peek at a periodic table
I think it is atomic in nature
it's a rare earth. usually found as a rare earth oxide bundled with 5-7 other elements. Samarskite-Y is one, quite pretty as a gemstone.
Clues are up!

I wonder if you can finger paint with fungus... Anybody know?
But. But. I dooon wana. (good thing caffine doesnt work on me, huh? can you imagine??)
How come rugrat isn't a word when so many moms on that chat talk about them
I wondered that, too. They induct new words into the dictionary every year, and yet it wont take that, either.
how was your day, ruru?
actually pretty nice an quiet after the holiday week.. I played some tennis and relaxed quite a bit.. nice over all ... you?
was ok. But for "this many" I'm really feeling my age. We went skiing this morning.

Able to leap small children in a single bound!
don't do wrong or you'll get a lick
Ooh. Hey now, ruru. You didnt say Adult Comic...
oh sorry I was caught up in the moment
I guess so!
nahhhh, not Adult... more like D'argo (sp?)
what is D'argo?
oh, well if it's european, I guess, then it must be artistic.
a character on a Sci-Fi series the name of which eludes me at the moment
oh
he was a mighty warrior and had a tongue that could zap you from across the room
google came through for me... the series was Farscape
ok. Now *I* am getting caught up in the moment. And I'm too sore for that lol bbs
bet he had a lot of girlfriends
lol
I'm going to bed. I'll let the rest of your figure out who the Phantom Iguana's sidekick is...

firewords
dern it!
yay dart i am only just starting have been good and done h/work and laundry before i even logged in - notice the halo
I somehow think I'm just always going to have to aspire to dartness.
yayyyy dart!
***blinks, nearly blinded by the glow of ursh's halo
i see it ursh
I'm sorry I couldnt type there, for a second. I seem to be blind.
So, how was work, dart? the snow make it easier, or harder?
for my work it is actually harder when there is weather in chicago, detroit or in between those two
how's that work?
i work the airspace over wisconsin and northern michigan...so work tons of ohare stuff...lot of detroit, toronto, minneapolis and east-west overflights from coast to coast
hmm. So if chicago has weather there's more rerouting?
urgh... stuck at 60
sixty done or sixty to go Saddy?
i wish... just 60 done
I'm not much better off, just 65 done here
chicago is overbooked for flight arrivals even on a clear day....any fog, rain, snow cause massive delays and we have to hold the planes longer...in summer with t-storms..thet have to go around them...gets kinda messy sometimes
so the snow here didnt change much at work, basically... That's kind of nice to hear.
if they plow the runways...sometimes we hold them for a while
Makes sense, but still nice to know for sure =)
any clues on the ar 8 an 9??? or is it too early for me to be begging for clues?
take the ar 6 and 7 in front of those 2 and put a 2 letter combo after the 4th letter for both
LOL
those are words lol
you got them i take it :)
the dictionary has a choice selection of amusing words. Just like those =)
One of my personal favorites is "zooglia"
yeah thanks dart
zooglia LOL
yup. zooglia.
that work moon?
or is it ea??
i know toea and zoea work
zooglea. Did zooglea work? Uhm. No. Not today.
my faves are teiid and aalii
didn't find them myself yet dart still thinking
oh yes. If the letters are there, it's a real word. It's a jellylike mass of bacteria.
first one is like a salamander..second is a tropical plant
You like the "i's" then I take it lol
when you get a weird board...sometimes thats all you can find
teind works too
I read the dictionary a long time ago. But it lacked charachter development...
found them in a dictionary.. weird..
the ar words...or the ones we just put up?
lol moon
well, needless to say, I haven't tried to read it, again. But maybe someday. =)
we'd find them when the cheaters came on the tangle site with their programs to find all words...you would see some real weird ones then
say what? why would anybody bother cheating at a word game?
usually kids trying to stir the pot and get everyone riled up...they come on here once in a while and try to get people going...best to just ignore and they get bored and go away.
they dont cheat here , but just call people names and use profane language
but still. That seems Well. That seems like one of the dumbest juvie pranks I've Ever heard of. And I invented one or two in my day.
they would take their ranking all the way down to zero points...then start using the program to score massive point totals...which hurts everyone elses rankings...people would understandably get mad...and they would just sit back and watch the fireworks
those were the days eh dart
mitch knows all about it lol....hiya mitch
heya
That doesnt make that Any less dumb. Fcol. That's even more stupid than dumpster diving in resturant dumpsters.
Hiya mitch. You're a tangle-refugee, too?
surely am
i do believe he wass higher ranked than I was :)
surely am
surely am
2 am burp again
whoa, sry bout that
LOL He seems very Sure.
it gets stuck at 2am central every morning
lol
yea, been playing at yahoo lately - but there's too few people
I'm a small minded girl. I'm just looking to beat out ONE minnesoatan, one night. That's all I want.
word racer?
Ok, that and a hippopotamus for xmas. But just those 2 things.
yea
only 3 of us that i know moon :) you me and drb
havent tried word racer yet
Exactly. That's making it a little tougher... I either need to get another minnesotan on here, or take you out at fair, next year...
I mean, um... nm.
it's alright - it's where i started playing
:)....have to watch out for leather-jacketed people following me on hot august/september weekends next year
No way. I can be subtle =P
seems like a lot of word racers were really good tanglers...can you mouse there...or only type?
Some times.
mostly typing - mousing is kind of awkward, though you can
Besides, it's hard to sell, once it's been "blooded".
i moused tangle..got up to 2540 at one point...think the highest mouser i saw was about 3000...there were a few typers all the way to 4000
yea, had a few names at 4k
i'll spot you over the crowd....tall and can see a long way :)
moon that is
oh, dood. I hurt.
I got it. I'm sorry I was busy laughing. Really hard.
ah, finished - always miss the s's on things lol
that was very funny, ty.
i always miss a few plurals oo...till lickety's list comes up
I have people come Looking for me, and they can't find me. I'm a whole 5' tall. And the booth gets busy lol
im 6' 6" so i can see for miles and miles and miles and miles lol
Besides. You're assuming I'd be silly enuf to do it, myself. {{grin}}
should probably head to bed - night folks
Nite mitch. Congrats!
night mitch see ya later
Morning all......
hi flask
Morning Flask =)
Ahahaha That makes you a ta6.24 LOL
Are you all well and happy?
Oh yeah. Sore, but amused. And yourself?
Am great thanks Moonwoof, but why are you sore?
Oh, went skiing this morning, and I havent been in years. I'm feeling my age.
Thankfully, I'm not older =)
so whereabouts are you?
Hey, age is only a number, anyway!
Minnesota US Not great skiing but enuf for me to feel it =P
give it about 10 years moon :)
In another 10 years, I can hope that Wisdom will have kicked in. =P
Oh lovely!........
mornin' Flask
And where are you dart?
Mornin' Metal?.........how was you xmas?
about 10 miles south of her lol
It was, actually. It was very pretty out, so I mostly encouraged myself to go down by saying "the view back on the skilift, etc"
'night mitch
Christmas was quiet Flask... just the cats and I here at the house (spousal equivalent was working)
where did you go moon?
how was yours?
Where else? I went to Afton.
*snatches back that I and substitutes a me
good snow or icy?
*then panics and throws hands up debating on switching back
lol. Dont you hate when you accidentally type out loud, metal?
My xmas was good thanks....just my son and myself [he's 28]...thats how we like it!
yep
Actually, the snow was great, early. Later on it started to slick a little. But they were already starting to cut everything up by noon.
it was pretty light and fluffy this time
I had no idea they had a way to do that. In hindsight it makes sense, but was wierd to see arctic cats pulling threshers =P
ok...ime to lose myself in this grid.......back soon!
Yeah, it was. There was one kid who must have slept overnight out there, cause he'd been at it for a bit by the time we got out there.. And he was impressive. Throwing like 20ft waves, stopping. He was pretty good.
Have fun flask!
i have firewords and I can not believe some of the words I had to use.
bed time here...goodnight all...see you later moon
it's true joey. I'm not done yet, but some of the ones it took, took me totally offguard.
I got more points goofing around than I did trying =P
Night dart. Sleep sweet.
bye poof
yay joey!! and hi all! seasonsgreetings to you all!
Congrats, tho Joey =)
Hiya M
i think that the nu was the worst...... never heard of that...... thanks, moonwoof
I laughed really hard at the st one... that one so far, for me.
thanks MVA.........
the st 6 39 sounds like a fairy tale animal name
Exactly. I totally laughed. That's what i thought, and then it took it. I stared...
yup....... me too....... guess I will have to find out what it really means!
I'm up to like 15 to look up =P
holy crap....... the dictionary definition almost needs a dictionary....... i guess it comes from a flower?
Oh great. I'm gonna go look em up and still feel unsatified. That would Suck!
well, it is certainly something that I would never use in any conversation........ lol
I dunno... You might be surprised =)
not that surprised......... never happen. you must have some strange conversations......... no, wait, i can envision it. my perfume has undertones of st......
I know the fungus art one... and the nu8 but whats the ro6?
sounds fascinating, joey and moon ... anymore clues for st 6?
Umh, prolly not. I'm not a very girly girl But I Might call some one a " gelatinous pustule of odiferous st.. "=)
MVA, no way to clue other than the definition - but it ends in a 6 point letter.......and has a 3 for a third letter
It's like the grecian river to hades with a room monitor in it.
moonwoof, the ro 6 is a funky plural for a stage
got it ty!!
well then. I never woulda guessed that one.
Morning everyone
Morning J
ty, Joey. One less to look up, now =)
hi jfb, love theicon!
yvw. ? what kind of a booth do you have at a ren fair? if I was reading right?
The star of the show hasn't seen it! She might not be so keen
probably not jfb!
Leather clothes and accessories. You from MN, too?
no, from PA, but living in TX. very curious as I love Ren Faires.
Do you go to one in TX?
just going to get tea back in a mo
sure do. U there?
Nope. Our sister company is at TRF, but not scarborough. Which one do you do?
Been thinking about it, but not doing it, yet, I should say.
Scarborough. what is TRF? i don't know that one.
Texas ren fair. It's the Huge one. I believe outside of Houston (?) I'd have to look.
ahhhhhhhhhhh. i don't get there enough to know that one. maybe this year I willl have to look for that.
If you like scarbie, I dont know if you'd like trf. It's so big they have a patron campground, cause you Can Not see it in a day.
I am in Fort Worth
I have a great aunt in FW. That was one of the reason's I was thinking of trying scarbie... She's a very cool lady.
always looking for new places to go. I will be there for some phillies baseball games.
you have to....... and let me know.
trf runs during october and Nov. Is there still baseball, then (sorry, not really a sports girl)
The one thing I adore about texans is that you're not shy LOL
Dont they already have 4 or 5 leather booths there, tho?
nope, wrong time. well, i have always been like this - yes, they do have leather booths, but hey, competition is good.
It is. But I (being also Not Shy) don't have a lot of competition on circuit =)
the Only competition I have (really) is a booth called Pendragon.
i enjoy meeting people. i had a quiz tonight from a friend, things you don't know and one of my answers was that i can go almost anywhere in the USA and have lunch with someone that i have met.
oh, i know that booth......... think that i have a friend who worked there part time in PA at the one at the winery
That's a good skill to have. Very handy.
Maybe. I dont know what fairs Pendragon does, anymore. I Do know that they only do one fair that we also do, right now. We own their old locations at 3 other fairs.
where all do you go?
They do nice stuff, too. But it's different. So it's only "kinda" competition.
We do MN - NC - AZ - Boston and CO
where in AZ?
At 2 months a pop tho, that fills up most of my year.
do you know the Rogues? I believe that they play at some of those?
Apache junction, an eastern (far) suburb if Phoenix
i know apache junction - when is that?
They play at most fairs. And yes, I know at least a couple of dozen rogues from different states.
Feb - Mar
ahhhhhhh.. i have a friend in AZ that i plan on seeing in Feb......... he is in Tucson, maybe I can talk him into going. that would be way cool.
I'm familiar, very basically, with what the rogues "are", but I know I know at least that many.
maybe not. they are a musical group from Houston.
That would be. bbnaz lives close by, too. We're planning on getting together. That would be very fun to add you.
they play at Scarborough and a bunch of other places.
Oh. I had no idea they were also a band. Sorry.
well i've drunk half my tea but am slowing down, mayhave to eat to see if that spurs me on in babble, bbl, bye!
i would love to meet more people.
s'ok. it is a ambiguous name
Cya M Have a good eat.
i gotta go, must be at work in a few hours.
nite all
Nite joey. Sleep sweet.
and fast

That is extremely nice of you MRP!
youre talking to a teetotaller BabRab
amazing tent too, it sleeps 6 and has 2 rooms! it is huge and was only $180 on sale! yes lynxx, I am not a tent person, I like my fluffy towels and hairdryer, so this will be interesting
teetitaller know what not to drink
lol... i dont drink anything alcoholic
wow, sounds like a tent "mansion" to me
Sounds v. cheap MRP - if it had running water, hot water and electricity it would be perfect
saddy see my clue 3:46
it is aloy! I had to chose it cause I had to feel comfortabe in it... there was a 12 man tent, but that seemed over the top for only 4 of us
the camp site will hopefully have some of that lynxx

congrats, rmcc
thanx all. saddy check out my profile
hi all what do word stats mean and tile stats?
words stats are how many words of that many letters... tile stats are how many words start on that tile
Hi Anna, welcome. The Tile Stats show you how many words start with the corresponding tile in the grid above
so there are 86 4 letter words, and 2 words start with the o in top right corner... first number is how many of those you got
nd btw welcome to babble
AnnaK, welcome. To get that info go "help" above. Then, AngelSong's Babble Page has a lot of good information.
oh, thank you so much
all of you
copied the recipe ther rose ;) i love baking when i have time... my hubby would just love this... i'll try it today if i get home in time
thanks ice
yw saddy
Reload this page for a new random joke. #98 Once upon a time there were two little skunks named "In" and "Out." They lived in a hollow tree with their mother. Sometime In and Out played outside, but other times they played inside. One day In was out and Out was in. Mother skunk told Out to go out and bring In in. So Out went out and in a few minutes he came in with In. "My my, Out," she said, "How did you find In so quickly?" Out just smiled and said, "Instinct."
I love your jokes BabRab !
oh dear, can't believe i laughed at that, BR. cute, real cute
How is your work in process doing, lynxxx?
as in house maint. work BabRab?
as in Stewart Little
gaia is too proper to be accepted, sigh...
ahhh...he's just beautiful, not had any real issues. Think greys are just different from 'normal' dogs. He is fitting in well and is learning ...can just be stubborn at times
Have you raced him?
as in a dash for the newspaper?
What! me run! you joke. He must be on lead so the only opportunity we will have is to take him to special fenced areas - which are a bit of a distance
signing off for now.. bbl.. happy babbling..
bye Aloy
Hi

Lyn I am dog sitting for my son. Weimaraner/hungarian vizsla cross. We meet up every day with his best friend Dillon a weimaraner and they charge about off the lead in the forest seeing who can run with the biggest stick. Dillon usually wins with sticks (branches!) about five feet long!

i need clues for eu
I need to boot to. SOrry Saddy not me either
eu4/5 Curency in France, Spain etc. Plural for eu5/12
thanks frances
You're welcome Saddy.
also it should be noted they are the only words that are 4 and 5 letters that start with eu .. I knew they were there, just wanted to find them for myself... took me like 5 mins to notice there are 2 eu in the grid. I was looking at the wrong one for that much time lol
and since my brain has stopped working apparently... I think its time for bed.
finding words while approaching rem sleep is most rewarding
xlue on the yt words please... ive tried looing at the periodic table but the only words there are not there in the grid
yt words start same, but diff ending, try a vowel
yt6/24 yt + a word for a group of three but with a different vowel at the end., Plural for yt7/36.
yt 5 --- double the second consonant and add the red wine: sang***; plural
niterz all...
yt6, that is
BabRab, Saddy doesn't drink so may struggle with that.
thanks babrab... youre the best
good night, icepyro
I don't drink ... doesn't mean I am unfamiliar with a wind list
ni4 icepyro
.....even a wine list!
lol.. yeah but i dont drink... no one in my family drinks... public sale of alcohol is forbidden in my country and restaurants are not allowed to serve alcohol
but sure people do drink... buts its all hushed up.
if i was to name every single name i do know it wouldnt be very long
lemme see... merlot, chardonnay, champagne, vodka, rum, tequila, beer, whisky, cognac,......... and the one i learnt today ... sangria
Not bad Saddy.
and these too i know cuz i read a lot... most people who dont drink in my country wouldnt even know of these
You left out the gin.
oh yeah... i know gin and tonic
i have a joke related to alcohol... wanna hear?
.....all ears

morning everyone
ok bear with me hwile i type it up
Morning All
Morning crpw
Hi peri.
hi peri
hi crp
must be on heck of a joke
I am waiting too
for the jok
*joke* even
Pierre, a brave French fighter pilot, takes his girlfriend Marie out for a picnic by the river. It's a beautiful day and love is in the air. Marie leans in and says “Kiss me Pierre†Pierre grabs a bottle of merlot out of his picnic basket and splashes it on Marie’s lips. “What are you doing?†asks the startled Marie. “I am Pierre, the fighter pilot. When I have red meat, I have red wine!†Marie smiles and they start kissing. Things heat up and Marie says “Kiss me lower Pierre†Our hero rips open her blouse and pours chardonnay on her breasts. “What are you doing now?†asks the bewildered Marie. He replies “I am Pierre, the fighter pilot. When I have white meat, I have white wine!†She giggles and they resume their passionate interlude. Now things really get steamy. “Pierre kiss me much lower†says Marie. Pierre rips off her skirt, grabs a bottle of cognac and pours it on her lap. Then he strikes a match and lights the cognac on fire! Marie shrieks and dives into the river. Standing waist deep in the water she screams “PIERRE WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WTH YOU???†Our valiant hero stands up and says defiantly, “I am Pierre, the fighter pilot. When I go down I go down in flames…â€
phew... sorry to everyone who finds it in bad taste...
i'll drink to that
LOL Saddy.
hehe
Naughty girl
Good morning, everyone.

Saddy that was a cute joke!
Hi NoNo
morning nono
me too, what peri said
only have one 7 from an earlier clue
just got my first cup of coffee, maybe that will help
Hi again ...the ar6.27 is the person who disagrees with you - insert 2 letters after the 4th letter...and TY to the person who gave that clue earlier
that is for the ar8.70 & 9.90
also have ru7 & un7
thanks will look
good mornng
Good Morning carlee
and ar7
hello Carlee!

not finding the ar8 and ar9 tho
hi Carlee
thanks lynxxx, got them all
or the ru7 and un7
ru7 - smallest of a litter, only more so
Actually, this is gonna sound weird peri, but think kids with ants and magni**ing glasses and try again
un7 - pl of those who join people together
morning everybudy
but ar5-e+glass referance
duh, thanks Chris alread had the singular un6
wow. the nu is wierd, too...
hi moon, am looking but still not finding it
g'morning moon
hmm. ar** + mani**** (something that makes larger) I would Not have guessed it was a word, until I monked it.
nu8/65 nu + abr for snappy amphibian + sometime vowel.
nu8 is like pe8 that you are sent to when you sin
OMG, got the ar8 and ar9, new words for me, never would have found them without the clues, thanks
Morning Nono =) Pretty kitty
wierd, huh, peri?
yep, moon
good clue lynxxx on the nu
thanks lynxxx and Frances got the nu8
You're welcome peri
I had to look that one up, too. Never heard of it before monkeys ran across my keyboard.
omg. I'm 5 whole feet tall and it took me until NOW to get the ru7. jeez.
ty chris (if you're still here)

I'm back. How's the grid today?
don
don't know just started
it's not too bad Merk, I'm almost done and I've been watching TV and playing Trevian while I Babbled
hi
hi anna
Reading the clues below and I'm dense. I did not get the nu 8 at all, Lynx. Where am I sent to when I sin that is a pe 8?
And I don't know any amphibians that snap, just ribbit, ribbit.
synonym for hell merk
Merk, there isn't a p in the puzzle, but i get the clue
pe8 is another word for H*ll
part of dante's inferno
And that helps me with the nu 8, right?
hi littlebit
yep it sounds like it
sounds like it merk...
right
think florida for the amphibian
Ah, I see. ty, I have it now.
this is the first time i've played and i can't leave. not a good sign
That is hard when you get an 8 word that is all alone.
oh we got another one hooked LOL
on the contrary Anna. It's a wonderful sign... it means you've succumbed to the inevitable.
Well, it might be a good sign, depending ...
lol nan
wahhhh haaaa hhaaaa another newbie been delivers to the dark babble side... Hi anne..welcome to babbleland
i've been babbliefied
welcome to THE GRID -----run while you can
it
it's like "Hotel California" and you've already checked in
it's a wonderful place tobe
meta too true
just one more word
go anna...go anna
i'm not watching what i'm typing!
i think rugrat should be in the grid
Hi everyone. Welcome Anna! I expect to start seeing you here daily now, and turning pro within 3 wks.
me too
I don't think it will take her 3 weeks to turn pro. I did it much quicker than that and I've never turned back ... no regrets.
Hey, regrets is a phantom.
hi Scrabs
But some people wait until they lose stats after 14 days, then turn pro.
Hi Nono.
I get to see newborn twin boys at the hospital soon.
well i'm stuck. can't find another word
scrabbler thanks for the welcome
I found 41 quickly, now I am struggling.
Anna, if you play daily you will improve quickly.
Hi all, back to find more words, hard grid today, at least for me
Where do you live, Anna, and how did you find Babble?
Hi Periwinkle! I am now searching harder for words.
I just went to the list with 71 left, don't want to sit here all day
i live in CA and I played boggle at a friend's house over the holidays and the guy who won said he played a game on line called wordzip. I couldn't find it online but I found this.
Good move, Periwinkle. I shall do the same.
what's the list?
I am also addicted to Noggin, Scramble and Scrabble, Anna.
can you come back to it later? or do you have to leave tyour computer on?
morning scrabs
you can come back to it Anna, and Welcome
Scroll down to below the tile stats and look for Lickety's Clues--a list of all words in the grid, with the first 2 letters, length of word, and point total of each word. It is VERY helpful and time-saving!
yikes, scrabbler.
u can come back anna
Hi Carlee--how are you? Enjoying having your kids home?
i ADORe having the kids home...
i hate when they go back to school
and how ab out u....how is callie doing these days?
I bet you do! Is your son playing a lot of hockey this week?
All of the bunnies are doing well. Callie is sitting right behind me.
he has an exhibition game in Michigan on sunday
then a tournament next weekend
A long drive, or over the river?
over river....is in the town that is a 5 min bridge ride away....( kinda funny..our accents just a swimmable river away ( hard swim but swimmable) are completely different
Pittsburgh is 3 hrs away and people there have a different way of speaking.
but....the bridge is 1 mile long ( that includes border crossing)...
see if I can show u a pic....
I forget the name of the river.
??Detroit River??
http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl= http://www.photography-plus.com/images /PortHuron/BlueWaterBridge.jpg&imgrefu rl=http://www.photography-plus.com/ima ge_pages/PortHuron.htm&h=424&w=465&sz= 63&hl=en&start=2&tbnid=-nTzmUI-BlxMjM: &tbnh=117&tbnw=128&prev=/images%3Fq%3D blue%2Bwater%2Bbridge%26gbv%3D2%26svnu m%3D10%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG
when it says ai5.10, what does that mean?
http://www.photography-plus.com/image_ pages/PortHuron.htm
that easier
sorry
I finally used the x tile.
a 5-letter word starting with AI and worth 10 points
5 lettre word, worth 10 pts. 4 ltr words are face value; 5 ltr words are double of pts in lrts....go to HELP section above chat for rules of play
starts with ai, 5 letters long, 10 points
hi all !
on the left....port huron..on the right..sarnia... cross that river u get that twngy nasal michigander Paaaap for pop accent

No, ex, Anna
st 6, 39 and su 6, 36.
Bonjour Lucien and merci
sorry i meant x

_ax
the 4 9 is the one i have
i have 2 with x I think
There are two ta4/9.
I just have the cab one--not seeing others.
TY, Miss Hazel!
The cab one can end in a different vowel.
think of plural of scientifica naming scrabs
Hi there Haz
You're welcome - must go and check my icon. I don't feel quite that black.
Haz, your icon is all black, what happened to
Spangle
thanks haz
TY, I have the other ta4/9 now.
hey there hazel !
So that's it; I have four words with an x. Any more?
Waaah, I have only the 2 ta4/9's.
hhowdee buddies!!
Hello all. I think Spangle is showing up now, at least she is for me.
Just the four, Merk.
Hi BDG
snurg not a word? what's up with that??
scrabbler, hi there!
ty, I'm to the point where I thought so, 27 left, but babble can twist you around unexpectedly.
Haz, I refreshed and there she is
st6/29 - begin the piggy home, start a rodent finishing with that required x.
thanks Haz
su6/36 - sounds like what the Inland Revenue/IRS would like to collect.
tx hazel - the su6 is just more income ***
thanks Luc and Haz
TY for su6 but I am having trouble finishing the st6
You're welcome.
I did it--got st6!
Scrabbler, it sounds like s plus a plural version of a shop that sells men's neckwear.
need a break, bbs
OK, 98 to go, and time for me to get ready for the day. I get to see newborn twin boys for morning rounds.
Bye peri and Scrabbler.

enjoy Merk - bye !
I will. Poof
uhm, Montie? You know it's not xmas, anymore, right?
phantom storage is useful - it keeps the house free of poltergeists
Cya Merk Have a good day
Ah. Morning dc
lol DC ... and Hi !
Hiya everyone, else, too.
hello, everyone. Morning, moon, haz, montreal
hi there moon - is Xmas every day of the year...
hi, crpw.
Back later.
Ahh. You're one of Those kids. I see...
and it's still Boxing Day as far as i'm concerned :P
ciao, haz
cya hazel
I had my box out earlier lol
Cya Haz. Have a good day.
good afternoon to you all
i've used yt6 in scrabble lately :)
Or does that mean you're waiting for your bonus, dc?
darn, etui is a phantom
hi, sprite!
Morning Sprite =)
we're both heer during daylight hours, that's different :D
enjoy that, dc :)
Oh, speaking of daylight... How's your xmas day off dc?
xmas day off? not this year, t'wasnt. yesterday was nice, and i'm sure today will be too, esp if i do my laundry :)
I thought you were going to do xmas, today, instead, since you had to work xmas, tho (?)
no, on 12th night, 6 Jan :)
hi there sprite - was off reading the story in moon's profile about flaws - good one by the way
thought you had boxing day off... we call that 2nd Xmas day in Holland.
another comfortable grid that got done between dozes
Ah. I misunderstood. I apologize.
oh BabbleRabble, that sounds good to me :) I can use one of those.
Congrats BR
np, moon.
wd BR !
morning, babbleRabble. congrats! so not too bad today, then?
ty, montie. I liked it, too.
congrats on finishing :)
Made me kinda want to be broken =)
i did have boxing day off sprite, and today the 27, then i work 28-30, then of 31/1.
:) moon
quite a schedule, dc *hug*
I thought the grid was comfortably challenging
Ok. More broken.
*hugs woof* Bend, but not broken, darling. Never broken.
lol moon...we're all "broken" in some way(s)...
my calendar, which needs some minor updating: http://tinyurl.com/2zmvpr
I liked that the grid made me go look up a couple of words.
I am broke, but not broken
I'm broek LOL
that's the spirit sprite !!
LOL dc... your calender appears on my computer in dutch!
yay for google!
i think it'll still reflect my time zone, though
there likely is a smidge of dysfunctional in all of us
Actually, I am comparatively broken. But not my spirit. It's all just a matter of degree. And perspective. =P
so very much so, babrab :D
I would say so, BabbleRabble.
yes, just a smidge, a speck...
Oh, I definately agree, BR.
I need to believe so, or I would start feeling lonely... :)
okay, Lucien gets scintilla award ... congrats
dysfunction? oh my yes. you get it from your entire family, especially descendants LOL
and in a group of like-ish minds, it's less like dysfunctional and more like "compatably screwed up" =)
lol Gwen!
Odd. My mom says that too.
tytytytyty "taking a bow with a sweeping gesture with my fedora"
I like compatibly screwed up... will remember that phrase
compatabiby screwed up is important among friends :)
my family is a textbook case of dysfunction. you should see us trying to have x-mas dinner. scary!
I think so, too. =)
so right DC...
At my house it's "you should see us try to avoid eating xmas dinner" lol
I don't let others define me ... if I want to be a flaming dysfunctional today, I just put out flares and orange cones
our family is so dysfunctional we don't share any parties or celebrations. But... out of the blue I got an email from my estranged sister this december... let's say it could be a start :)
that's the way to live, babrab! :D
woo hoo found all the Os !!
both?? Good Job! lol
You are an inspiration to me, BabbleRabble, but you already knew that :)
Good afternoon everyone. We're about to have some fun down at the bottle bank. Love hearing that glass smash!:-)
halfway... not an easy grid for me...
hi Jac! Oh yes, so satisfactory :) *hug*
Morning Jac. Breaking stuff can be awfully fun... Enjoy =)
fu4 reminds me of a kids in the hall skit, some fu4 traders were paddling along, singing Alouette, and whacking beavers w/their paddles. :)
Morning, Jac.
i have friend, we like to take loads to the wast transfer facility, becuase it makes such a sattisfying thud/shatter when you throw the stuff in :D
hi Jac - sounds like fun and probably a gentle way to vent some steam as well...
((Hugs)) Sprite. Yes, a pleasure denied us since the binmen started collecting stuff for recycling. However, they're not emptying the recycling boxes this week so we're off to the recycling bins at the supermarket.
lovely to be able to have that pleasure again then, Jac!
I'd better go. BBL for my remaining 56 words. Have fun Babbling, Babblers. xx
it won't take negatory :( i guess that word is Army lingo
Alouette DC ? a french folk song ?
ciao, jac! do enjoy.
it should be, dc. LOL.
have fun Jacula !
Sorry my icon pic's so dark, btw. I've lost my fkickr where it would show up properly.
yes, lucien.
Byeee!
kids in the hall was a 2nd city comedy troupe out of Toronto.
since both etui and orgy are phantoms too, I have had my share of frustration for today already!
*hugs Jac* Have fun!
'bye everyone... I'm off to have a day's slumber with my fella and the cats. back later to snag the last 20 including those dratted yt's Happy Babbling
yay DC - i like the wacking beaver part as well...
I have been having this ongoing tete a tete with this editor and he told me I hurt his feelings
ciao, meta, sleep well!
hag day metal !
oh, why's that, babrab?
bye meta, have a good one
that is, why does he feel hurt?
oh, were you honest with him? Dangerous, BabbleRabble.
He believes I have overstepped the bounds of decency with my criticism
My guess: you are right and he hates that.
91 down - BBL - have a great day all and happy babbling "POOF"
sigh.
ciao, lucien!
i'm w/sprite, babrab
bye montreal!
hasta pronto dc and sprite - "ACTUAL POOF"
since I cannot believe you have been rude or insulting, I take it he cannot counter your reasoning and he does not want to admit he is wrong. Enough grounds for hate for most people, grin.
Aw drat. I missed montie.
Dern pets.
is this the same guy you told us about earlier?
the problem was sorted out when I reminded him I was being critical of article ... which does not make him a bad person
hi all, back to find some more words
phantom word: aargh (sic)
hi peri
hi, peri.
wb, peri
and moon, lucien said he'd be back later
well, not a biggie, thnx dc.
I admire the way you handled that, BabbleRabble. So he was taking it way too personal... good one.
I'm sure he'd rather I missed a little typing at him, than hearing that my dog ate my cat...
only one way to desribe this grid: oy!
nicely handled, babrab
TO is chanelling Ruru. I feel so loved. :)
hi, all!
morning, TO :D
hey TOwl :)
here, my cat is more likely to eat the dog. :D
That is nice to hear BR. It's hard when coworkers stop being professional, even if for a moment.
Hiya Owl.
: D
hello everyone!
Morning annie.
hey Annie :)
morning, Annie!
I am a freelance gadfly
Well, DC, jack russells Try to eat Everything. At least once. And she hasnt tried cat, yet.
lol, moon
back... Hi Annie and TO!
hi annie!
Even though the cat outweighs her by 8 lbs, she's willing to give it that "ol' college try".
wb nono
yay for being freelance. When I grow up, I hope to be freelance too. Working on it :)
morning, nanette!
and hi Nanette
hi nono
You know the stuff you put on kids fingers to get them to quit chewing their nails?? Is there anything like that you can put on a cat?
moon, to keep them from clawing things, or keep them from chewing?
{{{praying. please say there is}}}
Hi Owl
you can bathe the cat in it, woof, but she will not forgive you easily for that. She might prefer being eaten by the dog.
a mousetrap?
We call that stuff Bitex here
To keep my dog from chewing the cat.
hot peper spray, but the cat won't like it.
lol dc
woof: education is the way. :D
oooh lag is awful here : (
I'm >----< this close to pulling out lemon juice.
ty hunny. You're a goddess among women.
yes, sprite, Bitex is the product here, too, at least the ones my friends used.
O. I bet the cat would make GREAT faces, tho.
for the clawing thing, there are adhesive strips that ar tacky that have worked well for me getting the younger cat not to claw. The older one could care less.
*kicks TOwl's nearest server into good behaviour*
might be worth a picture shooting, woof!
That's not a problem, dc. That only took one bout of duct tape to teach the kitten.
That's a thought sprite.
cool, moon :)
moon if you find something that works, let me know.... i have a dominate cat who wants to chew on the other two all the time
should i have the end of the buch de noel, or real food?
The dog, however, is a Whole other animal. So to speak.
the others will learn to fight back, no, Nanette?
I certainly, will, Nono. However, that one's a little harder.
its been two years dc and it is still going on
one fights back slightly the other just lays down and hisses
i still vote that they'll do alrgiht, Nanette, especially after all that time.
oh dcsein what a silly question : /
The dog is trying to "protect" daddy. (who's sleeping.) And the kitten (being just that) is jumping on him when the covers move... You know the rest, I'm sure.
the buche while it is still fresh, silly
well, buch de noel then :) brb
i keep a spray bottle full of water handy ... all I need to do is pick it up and the dominate cat runs off
It can't hurt to try if it works, nono. I'll let you know in a week or two.
lol, love the image, woof!
It probably is funny. I can't quite see it. But I could record it for you lol
hehehe, it is funny from here. Not if I would live there!
The noise alone, is pretty funny sounding. The kitten is gawky. And still getting used to things like furniture.
i was disappointed that the mushrooms on the buche were sugar, and not marzipan, as is appropriate.
I love marzipan!!
We rescued him in CO. He was definately alone for a while. But now he's teenaged, and FAT (ter). It's heartbreaking and hilarious to watch, all at once.
sometimes they are meringue, no?
criminal, dc
never had buch de noel though
my younger cat, water is effective, older one likes water.
meringue would have been good, too, TOwl, yes they are.
peri, you poor dear!
is it a cake or bread
a cake. a glorious cake rolled up sothere is icing all over
sheet cake, rolled around pastry creme, covered in chocolate butter cream and cocoa to look like a log :D
oh, sounds really good
I might have had some years ago
aftera, cake is only a vehicle for getting qas much icing as possible ; )
It does sound good. Like a big HoHo. With Marzipan.
I like just plain marzipan candies
I agree, TOwl! I am not into creme at all. I'll have the cake and the icing :D :D
hohos don't compare, though it is an apt description :)
we had a choco one at work, with real ganache inside and out
small layer of creme.
oh, youm TOwl
hmm, i think it is time to gently awaken my company...
sein,: wegmans
i went to my favourite French bakery on Sunday, to get something to take to share at Solstice, and was pleasntly pleased to find my choice of chocolate, cappucino, or vanilla buches de noel :D
oh I can't believe I found the 9. By half mistyping, half monkeying around the verbal fighters.
I've got a cat you can borrow, TO...
i chose chocolate, as it is the One True Flavor for that food.
fireworks!!
LOL woof!
and way to go littlebit!
cograts, littlebit!
bbs
sprite, you insprire me to keep searching. :D
good job, littlebit!
congrats little
omg TO those are awesome
yes. i thought i tried the fighter but was denied. this lag is killing me
congrats littlebit
Ok. Now I just have to find a French Bakery up here that doesnt suck.
do you have wegman's
i perefer the concoctions for Pastries by Randolph. I must admit that going to Wegman's did not even occur to me.
we do TO, for 3 years now :D
yep sure do, in fact my son is a baker there
When it's (lag) bad for me, TO, I turn off the chat and it helps a great deal.
well if you have ever had their ulitmate choco cake, they made it in the shape of a log. no mushrooms though. for $19 you'd think they'd be a given
the 9 is the singular verbal fighter with the first 2 letters of many flames inserted.
We would miss you, tho. =)
TO I think my son may have helped with the grand opening of the wegmans in your area
huh. i'll check it out, TO.
argh, that should read: the 8 is.... The 9 is the plural.
the one in Sterling, VA, nanette? We now have ones in Fairfax, and soon in Woodbridge
no o i think you may have metnioned that. it's in warrington
ty, sprite :D
yep thats the one TO
oh dc, do you remember mentioning the pattern for a shawl with skulls on it? My son would really love one... is it possible you get the pattern for me?
phantom: surfeit
yes, sprite, i'll call my friend later today.
he didnt go to the one in Sterling dc although some of his co-workers did
that would be so great, dc! Thanks!
Why does that sound less like a phantom and more like a smurf?
Warrenton, that's one, and there's one in Leesburg now.
smurf it, surfeit!
Ah. That would be why. ty Sprite. =)
grin... great minds...
what odd words, ty, again, Sprite :D
my dad is visiting, he LOVES wegmans said he'd never go hungry if their wer one near him
you're so welcome, dc! They ARE odd.
Good Morning! Do the AR 8 & 9 words build off the above words?
Morning Phan
I was jumping for joy when i heard Wegman's was coming here. I remember visiting friends in Ithaca, NY in 1990; they took me to the "Super Duper Mega Weggies" :D
yes they do Phan
yes, phan, same root.
hi phan
I liked todays fungus art word. It amused me.
clued at 7.42, phan!
Ok. I may need an education, here. How is Wegman's better than Schwan's?
strange words
Schwan's as in the ones that go door to door?
Wegman's is much better than Schwans.
indeed, phan
son has worked for Wegman's now for 18 years
Yes. That one, nono. Ok. How so, Dc?
it's so much better than Schwans more variety and fresh foods
they're entirely different classes of vending establishments.
well said, nanette
*tearing hair out looking for ar8/9*
so far they are only in NY, Pa, NJ, and Va I think
Well, given my lifestyle let's take out the "fresh" part. Freshness is problematic for me.
soon in MD, they're building one in Landover
I feel discriminated here in holland!
oh, wait, there's one in Hunt Valley, MD already. so soon, in the DC burbs of MD, not just the Baltimore ones. :)
bbs, must swaken company
I expect they will start expanding into Ohio before much longer
but Sprite, you have Albert Heijne
Have fun, TO. Sure you dont want a cat??
only if it takes out it
And windmills. =P
tter : D
lol dc... that is just a huge supermarket. Huge for dutch people that is, not for you.
Wegman's is a large supermarket too, just happens to have Class-A prepared foods that fill 1/3 of the store. :D
lots of windmills, yes... never eaten one of them though, lol.
aha, I see! Ok, that makes sense... some of AH's stuff is really good indeed. Expensive though.
Me neither, Sprite. But yours are Much nicer to watch While eating...
i don't think i have ever seen more considered chat abut grocers. lol
Koninklijke Ahold owns several grocery chains here in the NE US - Stop & Shop, Giant of MD, Giant of PA, and Martins.
Ours are spikey sad looking little things. Unless you 4 acres of em all packed together...
we have the Zaanse Schans very nearby... famous for its windmills. The very first AH shop is there too, as a tiny museum.
Well, yw Bonkler. Good morning =)
hi bonkler :D
parts of NY has Dutch-style windmills, but not really elsewhere in US.
how do all
hi bonlkler
morning, bonkler!

Certainly bad news for Pakistan
terrible news...
all i heard was " a well coordinated attack"
scary times with that part of the world destabilized
this from the AP: Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated Thursday in a suicide bombing that also killed at least 20 others at a campaign rally, a party aide and a military official said.

you are too kind sprite
never. Honest, yes, but never too kind, grin. Ask my hubby... I am the one that doesn't know the meaning of tact!
man oh man, I am just slogging through today's grid. very little is coming easily.
it is a fun grid, but not one of the easy ones, for sure, bbnaz. Pleasantly challenging, BabbleRabble said, and I concur.
Hi everyone.
hi Marmar
i like today's grid, especially since it has one of my favorite strange words i learned from here over the summer
Hi Sprite, are the "holi-daze" treating you right?
hi marmar
LOLLLL great word! Yes, unbelievably so. We celebrated Xmas in a nontraditional way, following our hearts, and it worked out miraculously. We all feel like we have never had such a good Xmas as this time. It is like creating happy memories to counteract all the bad ones :) And how are you?
Hi Angel! Oh, I love your icon!
thanks marmar
Yikes, there is something very wrong with my phone. It hasn't worked properly in a couple days and now it rings, I answer and it sounds like a jackhammer on the other end....
how frustrating!
Hello all. Pretty grid today!
hi SarahB
Sprite you Christmas sounds wonderful. My sister did something totally different this year too and she said she never felt so at-peace! Nice!
Hi sprite
hi sarah
Hi Angelina! How are we all doing today?
that is it: at peace! And isn't peace the core message of Xmas? How well put :)
doing well, and how are you?
afternoon everyone :-)
hi katie
hi katie! Doing ok, Sarah, how are you?
Hello Sarah and Katie.
I'm laid up. :( I injured my back when I was walking through the forest on Christmas day. I'm being looked after and having fun, though. Christmas was really good this year.
glad you have fun, Sarah, but sorry to hear about your back! Take care of you, backs are so important!
hope your back feels better
Thanks!
Thanks!
Oyster oyster oyster! Silly phantom words.
LOLLLL that one has been bugging me the whole time!
lol
finally paid off my roommate for loan during my unemployment :)
all debt from that will be gone by end of March :D
oh wow, dc! Sounds like a debt of honor! Good for you!
very good, dc, way to go
What a relief that must be.
sprite, 3 friends, and my mother a bit at the end, supported my for those 4 monhs.
yes, quite the relief :)
Sarah, named for the powerpuff girls character?
I've never seen powerpuff girls
I'm sure I've heard Sarah Bellum somewhere before but I have no idea where I heard it
ah, Ms Sarah Bellum is the assistant to the Mayor of Townville in the cartoon :) we never see her face.
Um. Or your Brain, sarah.
Morning, again.
hi moon
Believe me, I got the pun, moonwolf!
Ok, good, you scared me for a second, sarah. Seriously.
Hiya Angelina =)
Hehehe
"I have no idea where I've heard it"... You're playing a word game!! Wait. Want to play scrabble for money???
I meant, I've heard of the name "Sarah Bellum"before, I've certainly heard of the cerebellum.
If you like Really irreverant humor there's a web site called the Juicy Cerebellum. It's pretty amusing.
*grins at the conversation* Welcome back, woof! I have emailed you!
Kinda crude, tho. Very honest, but kinda crude.
Hoya huny =) You sure, sprite? I came back, in fact, to see if you were still here. I got no "dog thing".
brb
Looks like a fun site, moonwolf, I'll check it when/if I finish this grid.
my phantom word too Sarah
oh, weird! Let me try again.
If you dont mind some swearing or crude but honest referances, it's totally fun. But you've been forewarned =)
resent! In a good way, of course :)
crude but honest... could be me, lolllll
I can handle almost anything :)
hi shorty, missed you coming in, sorry!
hi, back, sorry, been in and out.
I'm tacky on a good day, so I really try to warn people, just in case. =)
you and me both, dc... though not together :) *hug*
hiya wb, Dc
wb dc
phantom: taurine
oh, DC, I was just on amazon looking for that fado artist you told me about and I can't remember the name....can you refresh my memory?
down to 7 and all of them Us, argh.
Madredeus
Thank you. And how are you?
anything, woof?
i'm alright, and you? :)
yup, ty for resending.
yay, I see your answer already, lol, off to reading it!
Good thanks. Trying to keep everyone on an even keel with all the new stuff around.
always a challenge, that, marmar :)
Another fado recruit, Dc? =D
i like fado and flamenco :)
jilli likes fado, too.
If by "new stuff" you meant anything like toys family gave your pets for xmas, I empathize marmar =)
it's a lovely style
I know, and right now I have to go get some chicken for dinner. Promised roasted chicken legs so I gotta come through!
clue for tr6-24 please
I recall. Thats ehy it made me chuckle =)
lol Marmar... promised to kid(s)?
triage
the te5s are challenging
oops, sorry
yeah Good clue crp lol
lol crpw, that is NOT what we call a clue!
Moon, it wasn't as volumous (sp?) as some families I know, but DVD's and Playstation 2 and a couple new CD's...it's almost deafening!
Sprite, I actually bribed Marcus to take the dog for a walk with the dinner of his choice....chicken legs is a given when they get to choose!
tr6-means the first person you see when you go to the hospital to register tr**** nurse
wonderful job, Marmar! :D
its really bad when you ask for a clue and then give the word
I just read that last post of mine, doesn't sound right but you get the idea...
clue for the fu6,36 please
don't worry about it, crpw, it happens. To all of us, one day or another!
I think I'd almost like that better, mar. I almost killed myself several times tonight tripping over 4 bones, 2 ropes, at Least one tennis ball, part of a stuffed duck and some other pretty sharp thing. And that's just to or from the bathroom =P
totally, Marmar, it was clear to me!
it was clear, marmar
I can always put in ear plugs, but at this point, I'm Not getting more graceful =P
argh, what a mess! Lovely, though, woof... at least from the pet's point of view
Moon, your dog must think he's in doggy heaven!
hey, you kept upright, right, woof? Elegance and sure-footedness triumphed!
both dogs, and yes, probably is some sort of puppy nirvana... Oh, no. I meant the grace part. Anyone who's met me would laugh at "elegance + me" and I'll just say, it's a good thing the hall is narrow.
good morning/afternoon, all :)
Our dog Monty didn't actually get a "present" of any kind and believe me, he knew it. He moped around all day and at the end of the day, actually walked over to the tree, surveyed it carefully, turned his back to it and layed down...defeated. Next year, he'll get a present.
hi nan
hi, nan!
halls are supposed to be narrow. How else are you to keep your balance when coming home from A. party B. work C. traffic
hi cybernan
Hiya nan!
indeed so, sprite!
Hi Nan, and bye for now all, those chickens won't wait!!!
LOL Marmar!
hi nan
bye marmar, take care
enjoy, Marmar!
Hi Sprite -- was your shoe filled with goodies?
that's true. especially when there are Obsticles. Aw. My sister in law would be making a Xmas stocking for Monty Right Now, if she heard. That's funny
Cya mar
lol nan, that is for Sinterklaas, at Dec 5! But I had a wonderful Xmas, present-less as is normal in Holland, but with gifts from the heart that meant more to me than any material thing ever could. How was your Xmas?
wow, find one un and you find almost all :D
Just great -- we had our elder son and his family with us. Christmas is always best with children around!
You're Dutch, Sprite? My Dutch fiance is lying beside me right now. I was in the Netherlands for Sinterklaas and he came to Ireland for Christmas.
that is nice, Sarah! Tell him prettige feestdagen from me :)
En jij een fijne kersten een gelukkig nieuwjaar, Sprite;-)
I didn't realize that you had a different date for exchanging gifts
we celebrate Sinterklaas on December 5, the evening before the birthday of Sint Nicolaas. Traditionally, Xmas is celebrated without gifts, though the influence of the US makes it more and more a commercial thing.
anyone have a clue for the ar 8-9 combo?
Dank je, fiance van Sarah :)
they build on the root of the words before them, nan
it's a one who and a plural
take the verbal fighters and insert the first 2 letters of a lot of flames into it for the 9. Singular is the 8.
fireworks!
Wow. The dogs made a bigger haul than I did for xmas. I just picked up most of a milk crate worth of stuff.

It has been that way for several hours now. Can anyone help, please, without being too technical! I have printed the grid from LicketySplitAUS so I am able to enter words but not as much fun. HELP!
tried refreshing the page? close/open browser? you dont lose what you have for doing those...
Hi Pat - that happens to me when we have used up our capacity w our broadband provider and we go on "slo-mo". I would log out and re-enter, giving it lots of time to get everything up before starting to use
I've closed it down, switched off etc several times. Once for a couple of hours when I had visitors but no change.

I'm obviously out of practice - any ideas on the ag6/24 and its related (probably) 5/14?
hi matty.
one pulls one'd hair out!
Hi mo!
verbal fighters
Thankee kindly!
vw
Those were helpful for the ar's, but how about the ag's :)
ag 5 is a spanish word meaning bitter - ends in r + 2 vowels, ag 6 is plural
same ending as at 5/10 - do you have that, matty
There is no ag 5/10...?
yes ag 5 is singular, ag 6 is plural
ag4/7 ... malarial fever.
ag 5/14
Yah - got the 4/7
ag 5/14 not 5/10 though
I have two of the 5/14s and the 4/6 and 4/7
I was saying the ag 5/14 has the same ending as at 5/10
That's how I understood it and your clue helped me find the word too! ty jbv
pluralise one of the ag5/14.
I don't have the one that is the plural. I have the first 5/14, then a 4/6, then its plural, and then I'm missing two, and finally I have the 4/7 that's a disease...
ok, try this - do you have at 5/10 ? substitute a g for the t
you need another ag5/14 and 6/24.
matty! HI!
Hi Atlante! How's you?
ag + lovely **** meter maid (Beatles song) minus the T and then plural
Thank you thank you nonnie!
good clue Nonnie.

the nu8 still cannot get it

LOL darth Congrats Italian!
Yawn..
Chat is......"busy" to overgive credit........
Thanks, LoriP
Ya talkin' to me, darth? *Snorth* *Rolls up sleeves* *Uses every cheap trick from Steven Segal movies*
scarlet!!!! ***Post Christmas tired hugs***
Hey Red :)
*Shrill whistle to LoriP* Gather your forces, Lor, it's gonna be a bumpy ride... LOL *Huggers and smooches to you!* Hey, Uni... More hugs and kisses!
***Where'd that kid come from, I thought she was busy....*** :-)
*Very tired hugs back* That "Kid" is a breath of fresh air... don't go away, Uni... I need some sanity~
Well, I've never been called that before! **beams** :D
I can play the Blues Brothers and chat...it's called multitasking
The next blessed wave of company is due in 10 minutes... let's all be totally brainless now... LOL
Lock the door, and turn off the lights......
Yes.... *breathlessly awaiting next chapter**
Are we reasonably alone here in chat right now, Lori?
We're just laying low, and I'm making pizzers. :)
I think I am gonna leave.....(fireworks) since there no chat.....peace and love all around
apparently Scarlet. Been pretty quiet as i roam in and out. Surprising, given how annoying this grid was....
Aww, poor Scarlet, being loved by too many companies! **simple hugs**
Yea! I saw Uni's e-mail address in her bio... Yea for darthdude... I tried, dude...
Thank you so much, Uni! :-)
Congrats darth. We're boring today.
***suck - up*** :)
*Twin suck-up*
**is confused, but gives Scarlet a tinfoil hat to keep intruders out whilst putting on own**
Hard day, red? We're here for you...
Lori, I am asking you and Uni for a favor... I need some really honest feedback on a "situation" and you two are very level-headed... If I were to e-mail this to Uni, would you find a minute to respond? It won't be until later this evening, but I would appreciate it. YIPPEE... my OWN tinfoil hat... all my own...
Absolutely...feel free to "use" us in any way necessary. That's what friends are for, darlin
*** shore *** LOL. Level headed? ***giggles immaturely....*** :-)
**reminds mother to be the grown-up**
***Yells at Uni, to stop juggling lit fire batons in kitchen***
Muchas gracias... it's a sticky wicket... YES... level-headed... the more insane women become, the more intelligence they draw on when the going gets "normal" LOL
I think I should cross-stitch that on a pillow or something...I like that
No, Lor, that's "Fire Bacon"...can't you get it straight??
Better than wicky stick-its!
It could be BOTH!
Like my p's and q's, I always have a hard time miding the difference between c and t.....
p's and q's are tricky...as are sticky wickets. I hope everything is okay for you Scarlet
LoriP and Uniquity level-headed? And here I was, thinking that Scarlet was a good judge of character.
Haz! **is overly, unnecessary ecstatic**
My world is almost back to rights!
Happy holidays to you, Haz... so good to see you before the New Year begins!
LOL Haz. There now Scarlet. See? We tried to warn you........ :-)
I'm pleased that you're pleased.
Wicked good to see you! Happy 2 days afetr Christmas!
Hello Scarlet, LoriP and Uniquity, hence forward to be known as the level-headed ones.
You see, Haz is flashing that badge of hers, and she is frightfully logical... as always!
If we're level headed, be afraid. vewwwwy, vewwwy afwaid....
Yes, nothing like using badges of office to make people do what they're told.
Move along there, please. And pick up that paper.
You may be a touch too late on this one, Haz... these women seem to be fully formed at this stage... LOL
If bribery and manipulation don't work, there's always authority! :)
No loitering. Put her down, sir, you don't know where she's been.
LOL, Lori... you are breathing proof of my prior words...
A term in the home for the bewildered sorts EVERYONE out.
Where's the head nurse? Does the head nurse have authority over Haz?
NO-ONE has authority over the Police Chief. It's the law of England.
No, Uni... Haz is the ultimate, last word!!
Methinks the ehad nurse would cower at Haz's supreme supremacy.
*Loiters*
Haz! HAZ!!!!!
And the Lesser Antilles...
It's a benevolent dictatorship.
Do you think Imran will be assassinated next?
This English law is starting to become suspect. I need to buy myself a copy of these laws...
Atalante!! Happy Holidays!1
Hello Atalante!
Atlante!!!!!!! ***hugs***
Oh, my heart broke this morning...
I hope not, Atalante - a shock, wasn't it?
Ata, baby..coming down my chimney tonight...[/bad singing]
The laws of England can be blamed for most things, including FMitch.
***I see that teaching her to question authority may have been a mistake...****
utterly. I'm still shocked, I think
You like to think that people learn from history, but it seems not to be the case, sadly.
I heard it on the radion, coming home from work. I was surprised, but not overly so.
For a strange moment this morning, I remembered the day that Anwar Sadat was assassinated...
radion is somehwat akin to a radio station, by the way ***slaps forehead***
no ..... *mope* I can't say I was surprised, just saddened. She must have known it would happen at some point, and to still go back with her life at risk like that is amazing
She knew, Ata... and continued to stand tall for her people...
It took courage, no matter what one thought of the past events.
Sadly I think it was only a matter of time. Those who wanted her dead weren't going to stop until they got their way. Something like 160 other people have been killed in the 2 attempts on her life.
exactly Haz. The cold hard reality. not if, but when.
I just have such a gut-knot about Musharraf...I have never trusted him, and now I have nothing but comtempt for him, and his puppets...
***retreats to kicthen, and pizzer dough, hopes uni keeps me abreast of chat, since she is conveniently located in the kitchen***
Enjoy those pizzas, Uni/Lori... I see the car pulling into the driveway... See you all later!
sorry, I've utterly depressed the chat now!
You don't think Dubya will try to help?
Enjoy your company Red! We'll be thinking of you
Well, that's got rid of Scarlet and LoriP. We can talk about them behind their backs - Uni won't snitch.
if he helps, it'll go to hell in a handbasket like normal!
You think he lacks the political sensitivity for the situation?
HAHAHAHAHA....."Dubya help"............surely you jest
Is that an oxymoron do you think?
st6/39 please someone
dubya? sen - sen - sen - what?
absolutely...like jumbo shrimp
st6/39 - a piggy place, followed by three uncooked letters, but move the last one one place further along in the alphabet. (an x opportunity)
Thanks Haz
You're welcome.
I think Dubya might just be too much of the second half to be involved in an oxymoron
Ah well, soon he won't have to bother his head about all these things.
gold stars to Uni. thats fab. I love that *giggles madly*
'Tis true...The countdown has become short. But then...what if it gets worse?
it can get worse?
Somebody feel Uniquity's head. She's clearly feverish.
I suppose Arnie could change the legislature and become pres
What sort of a mother leaves a ranting daughter so she can make pizzas?
LOL....I have been by the fire all day, and I am mighty warm **checks temp**
Well guys...I live just above the nutjobs! You're safely far away!
I knew it. I can diagnose delirium from thousands of miles away. It's a gift.
One of many Haz, one of many :)
Ah well. The gift of sewing still hasn't fallen into my lap.
Don't be selfish Haz...it's delirium diagnosis or sewing. Take your pick
Delirium diagnosis kind of helps to save people from themselves. Sewing would only do that if I were a surgeon..... so maybe the fever thing is best.
talking of fever, did Spangle recover from her paw hurtiness?
Yes indeed, she's firing on all four cylinders now. Antibiotics saved the day.
yay! thats great
Hopefully that will keep her healthy for another while. It's hard to get a decent vet around here.
I bet. Awfully hard
Money-grabbers.
definitely. overenthusiastic with prescribing euthanol
I'm just laughing at my poor reading of the icons. I had Uniquity's as a blonde bombshell in a red feather boa and yours was a black headed sheep.
Is a visit to the optician in order, do you think?
But am I right in surmising that this is THE CAKE?
Blonde bombshell....small child with a tinfoil hat...Whatever :)
Is it the Junior Edition of 'Tinfoil hat making?'
It's the best I could do as representation of our tinfoil hat...google gave me strange results such as tinfoil underwear :(
argh tell you in a sec!
TInfoil underwear. You'd be kind of rustly.
And uncomfortable, i can only hope
back. had to run for a wee. not that you needed to know that! yes, that is THE CAKE. think Jac would be proud?
The cake looks delicious...I want one
friends!
I think THE CAKE looks as if you spent a lot of time and effort on it. Did it taste scrumdiddlyumptious?
it tasted *gorgeous*. Really really gorgeous
Hello hurshy!
hurshy!!!!!!!!1 yay!!!!
You sound relieved, hurshy?
Good afternoon, need a clue for st6/39, please?
i haven't seen you (haz and ata) in several days - it's just nice to see you again
st6/39 - a pig home, plus the opposite of cooked, but move the last letter one along in the alphabet.

I've been lying low, hurshy but decided to put my head above the parapet again.
Thanks Haz great clue
I'm glad it worked for you, Marc.
yes marty is real glad i'm home from work.
Hi everyone...and the seasons greetings to you all...
Hello Flask - gearing up for Hogmanay?
poor pakistan... :(
Och my son is celebrating already...and I hate when he drinks to excess.....makes me ery nervous!
Yes Hurshy, its dreadful.....am just watching it now
He'd notice if you watered down the drink?
Oh if only I could!
How was your xmas Haz?
hello, I'm back again
Terrible news from Pakistan
It was busy, Flask, I had my sister staying for a couple of days and both daughters are home. I had a lazy day today, though.
Hi Annie....
will you look at that, even bush managed to talk about it without smirking.
Hello Annie.
did he make sense, hurshy?
We were wondering if he would offer to help the situation. Maybe he realises it's just a bit too hard for even him.
i only saw a short clip, but he did not... not make sense.
yes, but did you notice that they[murderers] must be punished........is this his next firing range?????
i dunno...
It's just talk to fill up a sound bite.
oh, so cynical adn so true
yep!
I have 2 of the 3 st6/18 the one that is a direct line and the ones that sounds Italian any clues for the other one?
At least we're not fooling ourselves...just as he no longer seems to be fooling anybody
st6/18 - one who declares?
here's a shocker: mitten is interested in my clam chowder
Very well said, Uniquity
Sorry don't get the clue Haz
Is this the first of the three?
st6/18 - the first - add an alternative word to the preceding st4/4
Ok...am gonna bid you all goodnight...see you tomorrow! Goodnight!

Hello to my fellow babblers! How's everone doing today?
hello minveryork!
Hurshy, how did your visit go last week?
Hi Min, good to see you.
I suppose it is. When you're presented with chocolate it would be churlish to last it out for days, wouldn't it?
evening, babblers :)
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Hooray!
au6,24 please
hil lil!
au6/24 is the latin singular of the preceding au5/12.
yes Haz, it must be eaten immediately.
{{LilMonkey}} hello
I need to ask for clues for the last six words as I'm about to get booted off the computer. On my mom's computer
Sell by dates and things. You can't be too careful, Mom.
exactly my thinking, Haz
Thanks, Hazel, also means yellow in latin
Another fact learned today.
i think "neru" should be a word {hmpf}
as in... nehru?
tr6,24 , my last word please
emergency room area in a hospital
sorry Bubba, I don't have it
tr6/24 - your first port of call when injured to sort out medical priority.

{{Stid}} hello
You're welcome Mom and lil.
Thanks Annie
Does anyone have a clue for the ag5/14 word yet please
hi stid and glad you have tr 6/24
haz? ... you said "it's a babblet"... but... there's two (i suppose one is plural)... and i still can't find them
oh! I need to change my icon back to normal. brb
hi {{{mom}}}
people who get older, minver?
lovely scarf, Stid
ag5/14 - either a plural or ag plus female spanish river
Actually, I need the third ag 5/14 word if anybody has it
sorry Min, I don;t
Then that's the ag plus Spanish river, female variety and plural for ag6/24
ag + hook letter + two vowels
clue for ar8/70?
thanks Mom -- just changed back to my yellow shirt. The scarf came in handy today when I went out with a friend to inspect her partially finished home...
hi, all
Thanks Doxy
Hi Tea
Haz, Lori and I were wondering if you could give us a clue for the de6,24? :D
hi Tea!
ar8 - to the first four contending letters add a slightly mixed up version of what the arsonist wants to achieve.
bush would probably tell people who disagree with him not to be ar8s
Never mind!Just found the ag5/14 word! Thanks though
yw. Hi all by the way.
there's no D...
hello, how goes it?
hi doxy!
LoriP and Uniquity are trying to push me over the edge of insanity.
nice clue, haz. thanks!
hello TEA!!!! how are you? are the kids well? is your tree still vertical?
You're welcome, smaller.
thanks haz and hurshy. strange word.
SMALLZZZZZZZZZZZZ
But I thought we were level-headed? Scarlet said! Stid...it's a running joke, you're lucky to not know
the treeis fine, I don't think I am vertical :)
and everyone else too
tghe kids are fine - playing with Cmas presents
(nuts) liked the bcast... good editing
LOL tea!
hi nutty!
{{Nutty}} hello
Hello Dr Nut!
Hey Nut!
thanks stid....little change there in the beginning....we are long winded aren't we?
weird AR 8... but I got it (the Bush clue did the trick)
Does anyone have a clue for the te5/16 word yet please
So Dubya DID help.
like the eric idle sketch where he drones on and on and on and never stops to take a break he just goes on and on and ...
maybe we needs to do less stories
there's a first time for everything
te5/16 - te plus the beginnings of a person appointed legally to look after children
fewer would be good... leave a bit for the next time.
Or te plus the beginnings of the eighth month, backwards.
yeppers....
thanks Haz
You're welcome, Mom.
brb
later atalante
woo-hoo! down to 150! LOL
go get 'em Stid
nu8, please
nu8 - a three lettered firearm backward, forward to a British conservative. (Or change a vowel on ne7 and add the sometimes vowel at the end)
I almost have "neurosis" -- or is it neuroses? *grin* I found neurosy, but the dictionary didn't...
great clue HAz!
Hi, I was messing around, typing in words and came up with one that isn't in my dictionary, and I don't know what it means................ yikes
aha, so that's one of my bottom N's!
no wonder i couldn't find it.
Glad it worked, Stidmama.
hi snags... you know you can click on the question mark next to the word you found and usually it links to an online definition?
thanks for the nu8, another weird one.
now what's the other one?
I am finished!Thank you all for your wonderful clues!YAY
thanks
Hi Snags
YAY MIN!!!!!!!

Bye Annie.
Hi mom

I would love to stay to help clue, but I am on my mother's very slow computer.I have to refresh every second to see what is typed in the chat and it takes forever to refresh!
Congrats Min
have a good evening minver
hope to see you tomorrow Min
later Min {{{have a lovely evening}}} and (hi mom)
You've tried kicking it, Minver? No success?
Hi Stid :)
sorry snags... some words don't have good definitions. One of the drawbacks, I suppose to a "free" dictionary
You can always google the word as well, snags.
hi Mom... how are you today?
thanks for the help stid, and haz............ guess I can live without knowing the meaning.
roys
Stid, I am just fine. How are you?
LOL I am tired and slow today Mom... sitting for the first time since I got up. It's also snowing and attempting to stick (but so far only wet slush accumulating)
This computer is a pain in the butt! I am leaving.Bye all!
how kin you construe if you can't strue?
has anyone found a word using the X ???
bye bye Min. See you tomorrow
Bye Minver.
wonder how the computer got to her butt? *keeps eye on own computer*
there is a TA 4 that uses the X...
lil - there are four words that use the x.
OK thanks stid
Sitting is good, Stid. I saw on the weather channel that is was snowy up there
There are two ta4 that use the x.
rofl... poor nut... poor nut! *gasp, choke, guffaw*
there are TWO ta4 that use it stid
i better get busy then, thanks everyone for the X info
thanks for the other ta 4 hursh and haz!
Lil Monkey I have a st 6 that uses the x
No problem, stid.
hey there
Hi Feather
And the other x featuring word is su6 - you pay it to the nice Revenue people.
stid, did you see i invited you to a scramble game? it's basically racing in babble, but with 3 letter words and on your own time like the scrabble games
hey feather! i sure miss calling you preggers, do you think you could...
thanks, Haz
NO!
oooh. wow. thanks for the SU 6 hax, still looking for the st 6...
lol nut
There is such a thing as a phantom pregnancy.....
feather, I saw, but to be honest there are just too many invites to things! *sigh* I will check it out though...
hmph...no one ever thinks of me
fu6/36, please
fine
Stid, start out with the pig's home
oops sorry
st6 - begin with a pig house, end with uncooked, but put the last letter one along in the alphabet.
k, no problems tid
*stid
nutley -- you can call me preggers if you like. It'll scare Tom though... LOL but the rest of us will know it's not true!
you have permission stid, so long as babblecast doesn't suffer...he he he
fu6 - fu plus the Forida reptile, cut off at both ends.
nick's trying to gnaw daddy's face. oops, just head butted his nose.
LOL thanks haz! another plant word...
you can still call me preggers, as much as you want, but i'm DONE with pregnancy!
oh oh, I remember when Tom got his nose bumped... is doug okay?
Thanks got it
this doesn't seem a pleasnant grid...its not giving up the words nice
*thinking feather sounds prety emphatic*
i can't call you preggers if you're not preggers....
I agree nut, only have 60 words acquired, and usually I have at least 90 by this time in this size grid
ah well...such is life...
I am liking the grid. Wanting to quit but struggling to get half way
ok, gotta go start the whole bathtime fiesta. nick's up first. cya later!
Marc Freeman, where is Fairfield Ia, I am in Lincoln Ne
later feather!
I am NOT liking the grid
It's a grid that needs to be worked at a little.
i got a new sweater today :)
bye Feather
nigther feathers
how nice Hurshy
cool, hurshy! (or warm?) LOL what's it like?
Bye Feather.
may I have assistance on a Y word? trying to grab one from each tile before I hit the list. Not even going to push to halfway today.
i got back on the eliptical today...(waits for praise)
good job nut! how long did it last? *wicked grin*
**applause, applause** Congrats Nutty
yt6 - y, help yourself to a double helping of the consonant, add a Spanish river, female variety. Then plural it.
it is from the gap - i got a gap gift card as a business present and had ordered it, and it arrived today. it's a brown cable-knit crew neck and the sleeves are nice and long and stuff, i like this whole "tall sweater" concept they have.
hmphh stid...i'm thinking you aren't expecting me to make it 18 minutes
thanks haz! got 'em!
haz, thanks for that excellent clue
Great, Stid1
wow. I don't think I could do five at the moment, nut! well done!!!!
sounds very pretty Hurshy
You're welcome, lil.
i thought i might pass out...hurshy definitely had more fun
and getting the list. at 5:47 game time. *marks official babble log*
GU6?
oh, I bet it's lovely and warm, hurshy. I also like the sweaters that are finally long enough to actually cover!
how did i have more fun? by getting a sweater?
gu6 - reach a means of bringing in fish by means of a consonant
Or, g, a funeral container, a little alien.
***sure do wish there was a de 6/24 in this grid***
thanks Haz
cause you weren't on an eliptical hursh, most everything is more fun than an eliptical
LOL I liked the first clue, but the second one did it haz!
Haz starts gibbering.
Lori, you are Pro!!!
ah. NOW the snow is beginning to stick. brb after I call Tom and ask him to come home early...
thanks haz
ohhhh
It's the sort of clue where you understand it AFTER you've found the word, stid!
congrats Lori! Uniquity told me your lovely gifts!
does the ar8 work off the ar7 before it?
Stid, is Tom coming home early?
Thanks stid. Mom. Hugs to y'all! It rocks. I cried. I had a moment, as it were...
I don't think so... he's in the middle of fixing something.
that is so sweet. I love your icon too.
sort of Marc, slight modification
oh, i just noticed i'm at the dreaded 14
oh well, I let him know, so it's up to him if he drives on wet pavement or otherwise.
go hurshy go!
oh dear. I am sure he will make it home before too long
Did you have a nice Christmas Mom?
what is the second AG 5/14 please?
Haz, was a sweet, thoughtful thing to do.
Kind of, Marc. Take ar6, add a backwards Kipling poem in the right place so that you end up with a slightly rearranged version of what the arsonist wants to achieve (last four letters, that is)
I did, Lori. How about you?
2nd ag 5 is a plural stid.
*fishBOP* thanks Lori!
Mom, I knew that Lori had reservations about internet security, so I took the risk for her. Just call me a daredevil.
Was awesome Mom. Lots of laughs.
Oh Haz, you do like living life on the edge. :)
Glad to hear that Lori.
Don't I?
Haz, you are SO reckless! *wishes I were more like Haz*
Not so much security, as my reluctance to take from "strangers". As time went on, a year later, nobody here is a stranger. Strange maybe....... :-) But not strangers.
second AU 5 please?
I wish I were Haz.
Thanks Lori got it and the 9 too
LOL stid. Don't ya' hate that?
mostly vowels stid
Next, Haz will be out on the motorcycle jumping cars
Yes - what do I care if I've ordered 3 cars and a husband from the Phillipines?
what else comes from the bottom N besides NU8?????
au + Santa's ***ndeer
thanks hurshy
lol Haz
hurshy - a series of American darkness?
thanks Lori
got it hurshy, and lori, thanks
I do hope Haz pencilled in a cabana boy as well. It'd be most helpful......
Not forgetting the dear ne5/10 babblet.
Mmm...cabana boy
As and Es abolished and eliminated!
american darkness... hmmm...
Yea stid! Go! Go! Go!
Scrub all that, hurshy. Giving wrong information on the n, it was talk of cabana boy wot done it.
ah.
na plus backward Onassis
ty. that N has been bugging me all day.
Or, na plus forwards Gershwin?
one of my favorite words is in the grid
I think I will give this one up, at least for the time being. See everyone later. {{Hugs}} to all of you
Hugs Mom! See ya' soon.
well not so much as a favorite WORD, but what it IS, is one of my favorite things.
Bye Mom - maybe you'll see more later.
{{Lori}} bye for now
later Mom! have a great evening!
FE 5/18 please?
{{Haz}} hope to be back.
{{Stid}} thanks, hope you don't get too much snow
yesterday i complained that we hadn't had fe5/18 in ages... :) lol
Hi, Stidmama, just trying to finish. Have 40 left. Been working on one of our rentals all day.
fe5/18 - French fire followed by the start of the Camelot King.
thanks Haz and hursh! *sigh* was trying to get there, but my monkeys were hitting the wrong kyes...
hey rumple! how did those towels turn out? I had a dream about weaving the other night...
I have the ridiculous nu8, clue for the other 8 anyone?
***hoping tomorrow's grid has a de 6/24*** My monkeys were in hard shape today. I found this grid an odd one
They've obviously not been trained in Scots law, Stid.
WOW! that is weird! They turned out beautifully. Recipients were happy!
ar8 = gw bush version of ar6
Does it have to be THAT de6/24 or will any de6/24 do?
so pleased! I don't suppose you took some pics you could share? *hopeful look*
***I'd prefer that one, so I can not get it*** :-)
FU 6 please?
hey, peeps

I have a few. Is your email on your profile?
fu+french cat
fu6 is a lot like the villain in zoolander
hello all, village idiot here.. can't figure out that nu 8 word HEL{
Worst case scenario, a whole series of de6/24, causing utter mayhem as we try to establish WHICH one is needed.
HELP

sweet dreams Haz! thanks for all the help!
LOL Esprit. I still stink at it, but like everything I do, I have fun anyway!
ar8 - someone who loves to dispute
ro6 that is.

G'night Haz. great to see ya'. Sleep tight!
Night Haz! We'll keep the head levels at an adequate height whilst you're gone. (and be authoritative. No Loitering!)
ok, got it...weird word.
Will do!
if you're too dumb for words, this is probably not the best place to be... lol
cute hursh
still hopefully waiting on the FU 6/36...
And sit up straight, ladies, think of your posture.....
nu8: like the chewy Turkish sweet (minus the round vowel) + rest of the st***

Is that nu 8 actually a word? Seriously people.
yes, herin, it is. it has an appropriately trivial meaning
apparently the dictionary thinks so
The nu8 means trivial or unimportant
I think Stid and i were probably skiving off into the library hiding and playing a game or ten of scrable
first gr 4/6: what people say when you accomplish something: conGR**ulations
WRT the Us - a famous US politician said, I'm a un****, not a divider (several of the Us can be derived from that)

hehehe
I have 16 to go - all t's - can I start with ta 6/24???
nope. I have days when I can't find my hand in front of my face
go JBV go!
ta 6/24: the bulls eye in the center of the ta****?
the 5/14 before it takes off the last letter
I was really frustrated about the yt words. I so wanted ytterbium or the other actual element to be in there
*grins at tyger* so that's why I couldn't see the screen so well!
probably so. :)
instead, it was that compound :blech:
hadda find it in a word list :(
I just asked Haz for help on that tyger... I would have been very nearly clueless otherwise.
thanks, stid - for the bulls eye
sometimes having a science background makes a big difference with the grids. sometimes it just makes you mad :P
that was a good clue, wasn't it, JBV
yw JBV
ro 6 please
okay, I need to take an eyeball break. Back later! {{{everyone}}}
ro 6 is a plural word for something like a podium...
ro 6 is latin plural for a place where speakers stand
ro6: Latin plural of the thing a speaker stands behind
later, stid
RO + a shepherd keeps the lambs from s***ying
got it ty
*poof*
and hugs
we all said so nearly the same thing - I'm glad you could get it from that
oh, stid's 2nd clue was GREAT
I'm gonna hafta leave in about 15 minutes. Hopefully someone else who's finished will come in, or one of you guys will finish and be able to clue when I have to leave.
I'll stick as long as I can, tho
tyg still trying to find that dang au5 and 6 lol
okay. I'll give you another shot :)
i'd blame it on the headache ..but don't think that's it
au5: au + "the **ason for the season" + vertical vowel
ty was sure i tried that
yw
or i guess everything but i suppose
au6: 1st 4 letters the same + objective case of "we"
tyty
yvw :)
14 left
hello all!!

hey, pink!
how many words are there today?
how's by you today?
milking a headache all day...was shopping on this street of outlets today and music blaring in my head
or evening, I should say

176
have you taken anything for it, joanne?
thanks
yw, vee
fe 5's missing 2 ..has the boat
we haven't been on at the same time lately, pink. how was your holiday?
fe5/18: fe + 5th vowel + "**e you okay?"
triple digits is out of my reach. i'm proud of my 45
fe5/18: a move meant to deceive - often used in swordplay
vee, have you tried using Lickety's page?
well, the family was ill with the flu, so we didnt celebrate xmas on the 25th we done it tonight and it was a really nice evening.
what's Lickety's page?
how was yours tyger?
sorry to hear about the flu. no fun. glad your belated celebration was nice
mine was very nice, thanks. just my son & me, but we enjoyed each other, and the dinner we cooked together
tyty
yw, joanne
Hi, veeder, you should click on Lickety's Babble Clues at the bottom of the grid - I could never solve this without Lickety!
vee, look at the bottom left corner of this page. You'll see a link for it @ top of middle column
sounds cosy tyger, im glad you enjoyed the day!!
his fiance called, and he talked to her (she's in another country)
it was pretty cosy, at that :)
clue for ta 5/14, anyone??
does she live or is she working abroad?
ta5/14: ta6 minus last letter
she's in the Philippines, pink
that's her home
they met online
thanks, tyger I have that one - but there's one (before the ta 4/9)
2nd ta5/14: something that's ragged
sorry bout that
has a double consonant before sometimes vowel ending
OK, thanks, got it
yw
ok fu6 please
fu6: fu + Spanish word for cat
if you need an alternate, joanne, say so :)
hehe i don't know spanish tyg
tyger, then there's a ta 4/4 between the 14's - can't see that at all!
im guessing they travel to see each other, i hope it all works out for them....i am sceptical about online romances i didnt think they would work...obviously they do lol
ta4/4: a very small pie
got that and the plural, too, there's still one more
some of them do; some don't. but he's 43 and she's 41
oh. the other one is a root crop, used by the Hawaiians to make poi
tyger, I've got that one, too - there's one between the ta 5/14's - that's the one I need....
could it be the most pie one with sometimes vowel??
jbv - to make lace
okay - that one is the slang for pictures made with ink on human skin
OK, thanks Poo's Mom and tyger!
yw, JBV
yw!
ok back to the spanish fu6 tyg
joanne, the entrance to a garden is sometimes a ***e - change the e for round vowel
fu + slang for gun (ga 4/6) + round vowel
tyty
yw :)
the tr's have me really stumped - how about tr 5/16 and 5/14???
tr5/14: a secret meeting (sometimes vowel in middle)
tr5/14: t + r*** (things you put on floor)
oops, last was a 16
thanks, I needed them both!
yw
about 5 more mins & I gotta go - get your requests in now :)
"Last call" - as bartenders say
Hi tyger
How about the ar 9/80
hey, rebecca
ar 9/90 is plural of ar8 do you have it?
Oops - I mean 9/90
I don't - I figured that was the case
im ok at the mo tyger, thanks. i have my trusted friend lickety's babble clues with me lol
au 6, anyone? Not the drill-type thing
okay ar8: people who love to ar*** (add cons following 2nd vowel + upright vowel & 2 letter ending to convert verb to noun)
au6 is Latin for gold
tyger, my last one, really - tr 4/7 , then good night and thanks for the help
that au5 is Latin plural of it
tr4/7 t + r** (what you put on floor)
got it - FIREWORKS (finally!)
thanks everyone!
and I'm gone, peeps - already stayed over by 9 mins
yay, JBV
*poof*
bye bye tyger!!!
guns
inurs
thx, tyger...got it!
"inurs" was not found in the dictionary lol
you just need to add the second vowel, pinkhat
I pretty much did the puzzle at work on lickety's today... now I just have to enter them all in to get the fireworks!
i got it in the end lil
hi
hi squrell2
hi squrell2
Pink hello i am back
hello herin :)
hi herin brb
hi. Cat doth protested at the vacuum so she got a bath
lol
She was dirty and had shock horror fleas
So how is everyone
There! I entered all my lickety words and the fireworks have begun.
can't babble at work because of the interactiveness of it... but Big
im back....congrats LadyN....im good herin as i told you i went to my mum's for the belated christmas dinner
Wow Lady yah
er.. Big Brother doesn't seem to have an issue with lickety's clues, so I work on the puzzle there, and enter them at home :)
Pink sounds good
DO you know a cat with wet feet is funny
a wet cat is funny, period
Brillant idea Natts
Hi, all....
but when their feet are wet, it is cute... they keep shaking one paw after another... stop to lick... shake again as they walk.. and so on... hehe
i know...mine kinda shakes for leg and foot, thinking its going to make a difference lol
hi pam
hi pam
you type very quickly LadyN
She loves being bathed actually leaned into the nosle . I have one of those ones you stick over the tap outlet she loves it
Hi Pam
There is a wet pic of her in my flicka accoutn
That's why I loved tangleword so much... sigh
Hi, natt, pink, and erinfer
*herinfern
Thats ok Pam
Willow runs if as much as a splash of water touches her, but we really get her in summer when we have water fights...she just fluffs up and hisses
Pink that is funny. Yes its odd that she likes a bath
I get my kids to wash the cats
at us...and when she does it, its so cute
that way, they'll also take a few minutes to clip their nails
are you meant to clip their claws?
Do you then laugh at her pink as that is the ultimate insult? Natts i let the vet do that
Pink you can clip their claws if they are an inside cat. You can also get claw covers too
one of my daughters wants to be a vet.. she's been clipping cat nails since she was a pre-teen (she's 18 now)... you do it wrong once, and you never forget it.
i laugh and then she looks at me like she's saying her head "you bitch!!"
i take it someone ended up clawed LadyN
g'evening all.. i'm new here.. i can see it's addicting. one MUST solve it eh?
perhaps.. not me.. but I have done it wrong once... caused bleeding on the poor thing
indeed, umopapisdn... Welcome to Babble!
http://www.softpaws.com/ this is the claw cover.
willow is an outdoor cat, she was cool girl's then was given to us after she had her 2nd or 3rd litter
Hi Um and welcome
Hello, all. I'm finally back for my last 39 words. Everyone had a good (or at least bearable) Christmas?
when you watch the chat, though, umopapisdn, you can get clues... or ask for them
hi Jacula
Hi umopapisdn welcome to Babble...that is an interesting name....whats the time in Aussie herin?
Hi Jacula
HI Jac
Hi, jac and umo!
I had a fantastic day Jac and you?
tip your head around and you'll get my name *smile*
LOL
Aye, upsidedown.
bingo
you from down under, then, umo?
canada.. vancouver-ish
ahhhh interesting...what made you think of that umo?
VERY clever. Da Vinci would be proud, umo!!!
lol
just occured to me.. unlikely to be previously taken
any clues needed? I need an excuse not to go check on laundry
I have to show you this
http://tinyurl.com/ypapxx
Sorry if I don't chat much for a while... 37 to go... had a busy day... other half on pc then on pool game you play against real opponents... etc., etc.
ok at the mo lady i have my good friend called the list to aide me...check on laundry!!
cute herin
http://www.squishable.com/s/ and if you need a hug these are the things for you
Natts come do my laundry too. FYI Wet cat smells as bad as wet dog.
hehe herin..
LOL herin... I had to force myself to do laundry - started yesterday. Otherwise, I have to pay.
I'm in the middle of a doing a huge pile of laundry, too.
OH doing that at work ??? My g.f does that
yesterday was a day off - boxing day... had to work today
I have to go and sort out the damaged bags of wet clothes (ewwwwww stinky)
I also have about 6 hours' worth of ironing (that's not including the stuff I'm washing now).:((((
hush jacula
but the thing is, I hate spending money wastefully more than I hate doing laundry... and if it piles up too much, my hubby takes it to a laudromat that will do it. It costs me, literally, to not do laundry.
Why Pink??
hello, could someone help me with the Y's?
Fair emough. Its going to be 30 C here today so laundry must be done. I am wondering if 2 sleeping bags are worth washing as they are moldy or should be tossed
6 hours worth of ironing!!!!! *meant in a sympathetic way, not in an offensive way*
Herin - if mouldy, you'll never get the smell out. Throw them away!
hey harp!!
Oh, I see Pink. Coming to help me with it?
Hi, Harp. Not from me - not got that far yet.
Thasts what i thought. As for ironing piffle to thta.
you have got to be JOKING i dont do ironing!!!!
Hi harpjane......Y words are obscure. Y + double consonant + ri 4
say, what exactly IS this ironing I hear you speak of anyway?
it's international laundry day! I'm buried in it too!
that's the plural... take away the snake for the shorter one
HI harp
Got 'em. Thanks, LadyNatts.
Welcome :)
i dont mind any chore, but ironing. doesn't happen i wish you all the best with that jac
thanks for the Y's
Ok so the USA Canada England and Aus are doing laundry woohoo
i neglected my laundry today, need to do boatloads tomorrow
Wyrd - it's because we can't do the laundry on the 'holiday' days and so we end up with tons of the dratted stuff afterwards.
very true Jacula
can I help with some clues?
the Y word(s) refer to some unsoluble chemical powder
I had no choice as it was wet and crap last week. I was nearly out of undies (not that you needed to know that)
I keep suggesting 'naturist' holidays to my family but they don't seem keen! LOL. It's a bit nippy here in winter for that.
HI Phan and Wyrd and Freather
hi herin :)
i am with harp--what, pray tell, is an iron 8-)
what does the Y start with
Hi phand
hey feather, wyrd, and phan
I don't iron i let the dry cleaners do that or the b.f
um, it starts with Y?
er...Y?
ok i asked for that Y what please
You lot sound like my Mother re ironing - she once gave me back a blouse she'd had for 4 or 5 years in here ironing pile. I'd forgotten I even had it!
they are both YT words
LOLOL, jac...
ok thats a new one for me
clued at 7:58]
y + double consonant + hook ltr + 2 vowels
I saw that but didn't get it
and then plural
ta6,24 please?
pam - if might amuse you further to hear what she told me yesterday about the time she asked a sick friend if she could do anything to help and the sick friend asked her to do her ironing. 'I hope you appreciate this!' my Mother told the friend. 'I hate ironing and this is the greatest thing I can ever do for anyone.'
Oh, that is rich, Jac. Thanks for sharing...
ta6/24 you shoot an arrow at a ta****
you shoot at a ta*
there is a joke about the modern housewife, with all the new fabrics, all she has to do is iron down the tags that say "never needs ironing"
thanks for the clues! can't believe i didn't see it!
Jac--I don'tknow if you see the goodreads stuff--you are SO BUSY--but Swedish author Henning Mankell is my new fave...
good one harpjane, lol
Hi, une
hi une...lol harp
hey pam :-)
hey pink :-)
harp - LOL re the ta4 joke.
oops i used a word?
fe5/20?
Pam - I haven't looked in there for a while. I've been busy reading the stories I've torn out of all my piles of magazines I wanted to get rid of. The only time I have to read is in the 'throne room' at present. LOL
a fe 5/20 will take you and your car across a body of water
fe - the Staten Island fe***
thanks
harp - my other half bought a 'non-iron' shirt the other week - it creases more than the 'normal' ones! My son has two fantastic non-iron shirts from Marks & Spencers though, not a crease in sight on them.
Off to check on laundry, BBS.
My laundry problem is that there is many 1 item in the machine things
ar6,24 - any clues? thank you!
something very important - change 1st ltr
thanks for the clue - got it!
Brookie - ar6/24 - there used to be a band of that name lead by Rod Ar6/24 back in the 70s. The hit you might have heard of is 'Hold Your Head Up'.
yw
Oh my i cant believe how fat my cat is

AR6 ar+apolite man
how fat is your cat
Shes not that fat but shes all wet and puffy. She would weigh about 8 pounds (4ish kilos)

yw, Brookie
My kitty is fat to me as i first saw her when she was a palmed sized bit of fluff. I am still getting used to her growing
gu6?
ar - 1st 4 letters of word above it, then anagramed version of what an arsonist likes to create
add two letters to the middle of the ar 7/40 gramma
put the iron symbol inbetween the u and the e in the verbal fight word
Kind of like what nurses use in a hospital harp but ends with a different cons.
ty
gu + hook ltr + fish n*
that is the gu 6
If you go to www.twolumps.net my kitty is like Snooch
I have 2 cats - both are black, but one is called a "shadow tabby" (his tabby stripes show under his black fur).. my 18-y-o daughter, who just moved into my basement, has 3 cats
Natts that is sweet do te cats try and not kill each other? Mine tries to eat dogs.
one of the 2 black ones (which actually belongs to my 16-y-o) and my black lab x dalmatian are "lovers"... honestly, they go at it with the grooming of one another, you wanna tell them to "get a room!"
thanks for the G's
any last clues before I run?
how about some 7s clues? pretty please?

12 to go...need gr 6 (not the sandy one)! Help, anyone?
12 to go...need gr 6 (not the sandy one)! Help, anyone?
fue6 sounds like a Spanish cigar but it isn't.
The other gr6 is YUCK!
Or Santa's cave for kids with a different last letter.
sorry jac. i'm ignorant both of cigars and spanish :(
thx, jacula...didn't try that combo b4
*staggers in non--Babble direction now to check on laundry* PHEW!
Ok i am off fone back to this
gr6, is similar to the first, change the first vowel to another,
yep...got the gr 6. thx
11 to go and getting bug-eyed
fu+ entrance thru fence, change last letter to another vowel
thanks
yw
thanks, lbd
kay, back now, 12 to go. Should I pour myself another glass of the too high proof wine?
Yes Jac. Washing does that
No, no wine yet. The missing r's are next... girds loins in readiness to tackle them.
Jac i have been doing washing since 1030am when i arose from bed. Its now 230
1430 sorry
nu8 please?
herin - I know the feeling! Same here! Plus more.
Nu plus Florida critter that lives in the gladds plus sometimes vowel
thanks
Did that Actually make sense as that was a hard one to clue
nu8 means of no value or worthless. nu + slang word for alli or croc like thing plus 'eeither/**'.
Jes i bathed the kitty earlier and she actually leaned into the spray nozel
Herin - some cats love water and most hate it.
Mine likes it. I fill the bath with a little bit of water to wash her paws as she wont let me do that bit then get a hair dressing tap nozel shower head thing she loves it. I guess kitty massage
Jac when she is in the mood she likes being vacuumed too
I used to be having a bath when the one before the barmy next-door-neighbours' cat would barge in, eithe through door or window. She'd pittypaw around the rim of the bath, looking down at me as though I was made to take such a risk, then she'd settle down on the shelf behind to put an occasional reassurring paw on my shoulder. I didn''t dare move or splash, or else she'd do the I'LL SAVE YOU! paw thing with the claws out.
Jac that is way too cute. Sans claws very cute
She was the sweetest cat, herin.
fluffy tortoiseshell female.
Nor cute. Did they move or did she pass on?
2 to go: the st 6/39 and one of the 6/18s (have the 2 that end in "it" and "ti") really want to finish this...help, anyone?
Sorry i don't ahve a list so i don't know what you need
They moved, herin, and wouldn't let me keep her, even though she was half mine.
As far as I know she is still alive, and about 18 or 19 now.
the 6 39
Pout. did they look after her though as that is important
She got left with the hubby after they divorced, herin, and went on to eat the hamster \i sent them. Most unlike her!
where the pigs live , hook letter and what u chop a tree down with
if that is the one
Oh dear
Their other cat (a smooth black hair called Pepsi) left home right after they moved. She got back to me about 2 or 3 months later but was never an indoor cat and so I fed her outside for as long as she turned up.
Yippee! Thx nana!! got the 39...now just the last st 6/18
Wow poor kittys really didn't like their new home
dont have it so sorry
i have a ton to go but i think i am quitting, lol
They didn't, herin.
ok...i may give up...with only one to go!!
But how can you tell someone that their cats would be better off being left with you??
DOnt give up MR
i did that last week
au5,12?
when i went to bed i was so mad, but i was tired, lol
my fingers have tried all combos...either I'm losing it or it's a weird one (like lots of others tonite)
i know i did that too
jes--a "mis-spell" of omen--or, add a vowel to ag 4/6
sorry jes i have that word but i dont think i know how to clue it
Take a look at the list if you have a TRAY then TREE you are missing something between TRA and TRE think of it like a library sorting system
au + a 2-letter word meaning 'about' + single letter personal pronoun.
thanks jac
yw, jes.
jacula...you r so good w/clues! Any help with my last one? st 6/18??
well. guess the 6 isn't the plural of that then...
Commentary, like from the old US 'Soap' now... will Jacq find her last 12 words, does she care, is she sober enough, can she clue, who cares? LOL
6 is the latin singular of that one, jes
yes, yes, yes, yes, i do!
3 x sy6/18
thanks, mrae
st6/18, I meant.
have the ones that end in ----it and ----ti. Still need the other one
time for me to head out. good luck with the grid. see you all tomorrow
have fun, dawg
Bye Dawg! have a good night
st6 that follows the st4/4 = st + first vowel + hill.
Or rocky outcrop.
ar8,70?
well, i am dozing off--time to read and sleep following...
ar8/70 and pural 9 are those who love to debate.
still not feeling bright, jac...is this a british clue???
It kind of looks like a 'row' plus some flames.
flames?
hoover, i got it right away with hubbies help
lucky you...my hubby is as lost as i am!!
Jac-builds of the first 4 of the ar5 then flames spelled wrong
What are flames, jes, if not fire? The last part of the word you seek is an anagram of that.
geez...just this one last word!! aargh!
s+ slang for Potato, Hoover
try the st, first vowel , and then try a word that sounds like what u do on vacation sometimes,,a walking --- of the sites
MR did you use the system i told you about?
TADA!!!
YEA MR!!
LOL, I really can't spend time laughing when I still have a dozen word to find.
well, we slug it out each day for the challenge...only look at Lickety for totals, etc. Guess we need to really "play" as you all do!

Very sucky but the weather was horrid last week and i have to wash anything i can actually save from the garage flood where everything i owned was (about 10 bags of crap mostly summer clothes)
Hi Jake!!! How was the bath?
It was good. How is Steven>
Steven wants to know what time Jake is coming over tomorrow...
That is AWFUL Herin
I want to know what gym he is on...
Sucks but less crap to move
OMG Herin!!!! I'm so sorry...when dod this happen...I've been travelling so much and haven't been "here" much! Ok, that is TOTALLY sucky!

herin - you might as well pitch those clothes / shoes etc - the smell will not leave them
He says he is on the third ( with a smirk)
OH!!! He told a fib Dan
(then why is he asking steven for direction to the 8th)
Um last Thursday. Big rain storm. My friend lost (close your eyes if your a comic nerd or a collector) about 10 grand worth of stock
Did you lose much? But you could try Oxi-Clean...do you have that there Herin? That gets all kindsa crap out...if not I would love to send you a "tub"
Ren some stuff is ok as some of it was in the dead center of the bads.
fu= fu+spanish word for cat
Herin...Oxi-Clean...
Exactly Dan
Heiny i have no idea what i have lost its all in a bit of a pickle at the moment. Translate that to Herin is avoiding the clean up.
I am sworn to secrecy but you get the picture, Dan
Sk anything that i moldy is getting the toss. Anything that is clean but a little stinky gets a wash
i'll let him battle Steven then...i'm still on the 3rd or 4th gym
:D bless your heart, now doubt...one of my occasional mantras is "ignorance is bliss"...tho I don't get to pull that one off too often
Sounds like a huge task Herin
Oxi takes out mold...if you have anything "dear" to you...there is a website...let me find it...
Did you get the fu clue Ches?
I did Dr, thanks!!
oxi stuff is good herin - i used vinegar on my leather tennis shoes to get the "flood stink" out
Ok Glad to help SK
hi ren! how are things?
YEp about 10 240 litre (about 60 gallon US) bags have to be dumped. Heiny i think what i have lost is mostly crap. That some of the stuff is over 10years old.
hey dan - they be good - how be you?

Go Dan GO!
I tell you my b.f was such a hero. I rang him and he came home. He also suprised me with so much stuff at christmas
:)
oy! i have a few my own self
LOL 10 years old!!! I just did a grand "dump" of my closet...got rid of stuff slightly older...back when I weighed less/was shorter/cuter/smarter/etc/ :D...maybe this is a strange blessing?
dr...what time does Jake get out?
Hmm...Herin...You are very fortunate to have a B.F. like that (smacking my gum in jealousy ;- )
brb :D
This is what was in the garage sans matterus
http://tinyurl.com/yqgxvj
Jake gets out when ever I go get him. It is "camp"
Steven says to bring him over as soon as possible...tomorrow that is. regardless of what steven wants, it's too late for Jake to come over tonite!
And this is my photos
http://tinyurl.com/2l5beo
YEs. Jake will not be coming over tonight. He is watching Home Improvement and trying to avoid bed.
