odd this "bug" has worked its way through 4 familys over a period of 2 weeks - one of those 48hr virus thingies - thanks for bucket and mop stid but so far they have made it to bathroom on their own

depends ursh -- sometimes ginger is the right one, sometimes peppermint works better. See what the folks can tolerate (sometimes "chai" like they make in india is perfect)
Kirsten takes ginger capsules and drinks ginger ale -- I have also given my children candied ginger and had postive results

just looking at the chat log... the virus is called norovirus or Norwalk virus. causes violent gastrointestinal symptoms for 2 days or so - some people need IV fluids - and then it goes away. except you're still contagious fo a few days after you get better.

From my work it seems there are several different bugs going around now: 1 causes 1-2 days of diarrhea, 1 causes Vomiting and diarrhea for 2 days and one is the old-fashioned fever & flu bug symptoms (GI upset, aches, pains , etc)

wow, pain meds finally kicking in. I am relieved. Stupid things take about 90 minutes to even start working.

are the meds prescribed as needed? in otherwords may you take more if you need more?
went back to my doctor about them and she says we are a bit stuck with them. My body will not accept the stick on painkillers and the stuff that was reasonably working does not go with the antidep meds.
I have 50 mg oxycontin daily and I can take up to 8 paracetamol with it if I need it... but paracetamol does not do a lot of good, to be honest.
problem is, I feel I am getting hooked on the oxycontin. Used to last for about 14 hours, now it only lasts 10 to 11 hours and when it ends, I feel really sick. I have cut down to 40 mg already, don't want this stuff to rule my life.
Once again I think your doctor has the priorities wrong
there are many meds for depression why take one that inhibits pain mangagement?
I am going back to her this month and tell her that too. This is not working for me, and there must be other solutions.

But I cannot sleep when I take it in the evening, so somewhere in the night it stops working and then I cannot sleep from the pain. It is madness. medications have a tendency to lose some viability over time as our body's adjust ... I have been to told to take something different on occasion but go back to what works. changing is frustrating but you should not have to choose between pain or depression or both

i take oxy and endone. I was on 420mg daily when i was in hospital, came home on 200mg and am down to 50mg. tramadol is absolutely useless for me. I will not take it
I know, mrP. But tramadol urges your body to make more endorphine itself, and it seems my body reacts very good to that.

i use oxy cause it is a short term (under 1 year) treatment for pain.... and it works well, but it isn't good for the emotional soul. it is essentially morphine and needs to be treated as such. very addictive, and must be slow to come off it or it hurts

i only ask cause pain relief is diff for everyone. I do believe I have been given a good regime, even if it sounds silly to some people. I have been doing this for 8 years and have come off the drugs very successfully with my docs help. It would seem you are on strong pain meds, but if they are messing with your head, address the antideps, your doc will be able to advise you if she is a good lady

btw sprite, my inlaws did not come today. they decided to avoid rather than confront. am glad in a way cause i am so drained from the stress and pain. I don't believe I function normally under easy circumstances, so difficult ones certainly mess with me

hi, all. last night was fun. we went shopping for curtain rods for the patio door and my office. I bought white fabric shower curtains with liners, and we hung them on the patio doors...it looks really good, with no decrease in the light level. I also have a white fabric shower curtan in a floral print for my office. The thing I like about the fabric shower curtains is, they are inexpensive, very attractive, and get the job done until we can get "real" curtains.

nut try getting some kitchen paper or brown paper and place ot over the offending patch and ironing it. the heat su[pposedly helps to lift out the oil which then makes it easier to wash

that's a great goal
another friend with a phd spent all her time on the degree and making her way in the field afterward... but missed out on the family. It's such a delicate balance.
