I had problems falling asleep when I was her age, now I have problems staying asleep
And I refuse to go the Ambien route with her, if they even give that to kids. They shouldn't give it to adults!
Waking up is frustrating when you want to sleep so badly.
I have taken Ambien and it has worked for me but I don't like to take pills. doctor gave me sampels of Lunesta but I have only taken it once
biofeedback seems to work but I have not tried it
wonder if acupuncture would work
My best friend's FIL had one of those weird adverse reactions. He got up..in his sleep...and drove 90 miles from home and didn't know he did it. Not typical, I'm sure, but scary.
A friend of mine had that same reaction but she had taken it for several days in a row. I only taken it once or twice a month
I wonder, too! I just found out there is an acupunctuist in my city that takes Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Not sure how Kielen would feel about the needles. I'd like to try it just to see what it's like.

I'm the organizer of our town's Open Studios. Last night was our organization meeting, and today I spent about 3.5 or 4 hours on related e-mails! Oof.

Well, however much I don't want to spend all day doing it, I actually really love e-mail. I prefer it 500% to making telephone calls, too. Normally when I have to do only a few messages a day I don't mind at all. This morning was a little silly.
And by "Open studios" do you mean an apartment studio, art studios or theaters? Or is it something altogether different?

I mean artists around town having open house or studio hours and showing their work. There's a map with all the locations, and people can go around and see them all.
That's a very cool idea. I took a tiny peek at your site. Do they do something like that in many towns or is it pretty regional? I've never heard of it, before.

Well, many towns in this area do it, but it may be somewhat regional, because I don't think the towns did it where I grew up (NE Ohio.) Around here so many towns do it that it seems like it's hard to find a weekend when no one's doing anything!

It is hard, especially in the northern states, I think. They have to get out and do stuff while the weather's nice, before the snow =P

That's one of the things I like about doing renaissance festivals. You can pretty much figure in 8 weeks if they want to visit, they'll have One open.

Both true. Minneapolis has several art fair kinds of things, too. Up here they do a lot of them out doors.
Not scadian =D I actually run a booth at a couple of fairs. It's been a Long time since i was last at King Richards, but we have a booth there.
The open studios is easier for amateurs, because you don't have to own a tent, or all the folding tables and portable display space, which the art fair people need.
So really neither, I guess. I work at them. It's our own sort of open studio =)

That makes a sort of sense. Several of the one's in MN make rental options available for artists. It's a little easier for beginners, I think, and usually they have a really nice ratio of amatuers to pros.

Very few of us would really call ourselves professional artists, I think. Certainly there are only a handful who actually attempt to make their living with artwork alone. I have pretty good sales one the three weekends a year I do shows, but there's no way my income would pay the mortgage!
I understand very well. Ren fairs arent exactly predictable some years. But in MN there are actually a couple of pros that do the Lake Street art fair. By pro I mean artists that have galleries but come out to the street shows, anyway.
I wish I were better at names... One of the guys I'm thinking of has a gallery but Also teaches at the IoA. So I guess pro is a fairly loose phrase...
