Hi, everyone--Min--so good to see you. I was in the chat we when we got news of your accident. Glad all is well and that you're playing.
I just know there's a trumpet in here somewhere. I just know it.
hello miranda!
Anyway, I am tired and I'm expecting a houseful this weekend.Think need to take pain medicine and go to bed. Goodnight to all babblers. I'll see you tomorrow!

feels good to have gotten the 9 letter word this early
Hi Geek. Et al
HI there pigeonman...
How goes it?

en10!
how many words this time?
Pigeonman... Today's Jared's b-day. We went ti Lovit custart. He's not shipping to AK yet but I keep asking.
ty for thinking of us.
214 words
I'll keep working on him. He should support supply and demand. I demand he ship to you :-)
ty jellen
nurmer
oops
And I'll support you in that.
is the big po word obvious?
Gotta go. BBL
Boy, getting that icon up took a long time!
good icon jilli - almost used that one - had a picture of a pair from my office window
flosey, I had a sheepish idea too, lol! Good info in your writeup...
thanks jilli
jellen -- cute cat!
brb
anyone gotten the 10 letter word?
en10
not me imprint
not me; 86 words, and not a one over six letters
i ahve only gotten 68 words and 3 of the 7 letter words
spiteful phantom "enumerates"...could have sworn it was there, damn.
no crumpet either Liz. Hello all
liz ME TOO i thought that was a big word or going to be
And no strumpet
Even after all this time, I have problems with words that begin with the vowels.
i was thinking along those lines for the en 10 guess not
I have a strong dislike for words that start with vowels.
same here especially eo lol
ae is my worst
thats not a good one either autumn
no pets at all as far as I can see. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!!
I'm with you, autumn
apart from the ca5/16.
:: has 2 of 3 Y words and is deeply confused about the one she's missing ::
and the ra5, almost the same, Liz.
ank that is 2 more then i have
Same with me Ankh
ty, ank!
can a st5.10 be a pet?
i got 2 of the y words
Oooh, bad things happened when I tried to bulk add into lickety. I've never done it before, and it turned out wrong, leaving in some words from LAST grid. I'm using firefox.
ty Lynxxx!
Keep 'em coming folks!
ank i am using firefox too i tried it as well didnt work at all i tried the diffeent ways for words to go in and nothing worked for me
yay, new puzzle, i'll bbs.
I'm getting "noria" showing up in the R words... that's from last puzzle, and it's not an R. :(
back again...
doesnt look like the list has changed yet
Close it and reopen, Autumn, it has.
autumnn the list for this grid is up
Lickety's new list is up
it has autumn, you might need to refresh lickety to see it
a
se4,4 is showing up as "oracle" from last puzzle... yikes...
nkh, you should get Babble Expert unless you have a Mac
ank refresh
Closed and reopened. Old words still there.
I just did the Bulk Add -worked fine for me - use Firefox
Jilli, that must have happened while I was gone. Where do I get it?
That happened the other day to me too, I thought everybody was the same, but no, it was just me! Refreshing didn't help or rebooting. Good luck, it righted itself hours later.
no autumn refresh it
reload it
Ankh, you just email Lickety and ask for it
Refresh too, Autumn. Thank you, Lynnxxx, I'm Firefox also.
ankh, write to lickety and he will send you the newest version (least buggy)
Thanks, Jili. :)
gotta go, but BBL.
okay - closed, reopened, closed, reopened, refreshed....still has old words...must be a hint to go to bed. (and using Firefox)
later liz!
bye Liz
cul8r, liz
Stid, Jilli, I've just dropped Lickety a note. :)
later, then, autumn... sweet dreams!
Sorry, Autumn, sleep tight!@
Got the last y!
strange, autumn--no prob here and I use firefox too
great, ankh -- you'll love it!
Autumn, don't blame firefox, it happened to me and I don't use firefox.
byeeee
Geesh. Just found my first 7 letter word.
like I said - must be bedtime, Jilli. Odd that it happened after I closed and reopened and refreshed. Bulk added my words, they are all showing - in addition to the last puzzle.
Pigeon, it takes me forever also
I have that too, Autumn, using Firefox and trying bulk for the first time.
so autumn, you're not using BabbleExpert either?
i dont think i am
No, Jilli. Will drop an email soon
phantom topsy
are we cluing yet?
what is babble expert again??
Ladies, gents, must go to bed... nice to see you all again, and thanks for explaining about Expert.
bye Ankh
Nighty night, ankh -- take care and I hope to see you again soon
sweet dreams ankh... BE WELL *stern mama look* and see you soon (((hugs)))
Thanks, Jilli, Lynxxx, Stiddy... :) I'll try to stay better!
:::waddles to the door, yawning:::
::: POOF!!! :::
mlf, it puts everything on one page and has the Lickety Add box where if you type one word it goes to your list and if you type more than one it goes to chat. There are other features too. If you go pro Lickety will send it to you if you email him.
i can put the words in individualy through licketys page
Lickety add actually updates the Clue List and Babbe similtaneously
or you can bulk add with lickety's page too MLF, but with the lickety browser you don't have to. the words are automatically entered both places.
it'd much easier in Expert, but do as you like
i have firefox cant bulk already tried
You will also get the Tile Stats back MLFAN - might be worth the smalll cost
lynxxx yeah i know ty
Firefox DOES permit Bulk Add - I just did it successfully when everyone was complaining
it's not that it didn't bulk add, it's that my old words are still there from the last grid.
i tried it more then once does not work for me
hi ya
thats weird Autumn - did you open a new window for Lickety and make sure the clue list was todays - and was blank?
ac 6 please
MLFAN has bulk add ever worked for you?
Clue list won't go blank. Each time I open, the words are still there. Already refreshed several times and no change
Hi FranT
lynxx nope
autumn, your cache is not clearing.
You will need to manually clear your cache and then it will work
MLFAN maybe read the instructions carefully again
sometimes a computer's operating system causes problems
F5 is forced refresh in firefox
have no idea how to do that
got the 9 & 10 letter words!
feral what does that do?
yay Imprint! Hi - and hi to Stubbs too
causes the browser to override stored cookies and reload updated ones
howdy
imprint what do they begin with?
en and nu
MLFAN - there is Bulk Add instructions at the bottom of Licetys list
9-nu and 10-en
feral ooh ty
en10,84 and nu 9,66
teru
can anyone clue either of those/
the ten adds one letter to the 9
thus, they are a combo
punys
punys! hope you don't put any money on those!
nope
okay, my brain is tired. back sometime when it's not completely dark outside.
bye stid
Night stiddy -- how's the kid?
I'm giving up for the night. See y'all tomorrow.
thanks Imprint & Stubbs for the 9 & 10 - though I still can't see how it connects
ni-night Stid. Ni-night all
night autumn -- hope your list will be okay tomorrow!

goodnite Freep
cioa freep

sigh.....if I could only rotate the board
so how is the grid treating you guys today?
sprite.......see comment below lol
flowing nicely Sprite
lol Mar... thanks lynxxx, that is nice to look forward to!
hi sprite -- going slowly as usual
i'm never very good at these, maybe someday. i wish i could rotate the board too.
oh no prob for you spritey!
Rotating the grid would be fabulous!
ye gods, just scrolled back to see freep finished already!
Elsh, Mar... you ARE good at these. If you manage to find words, even lots of words, you are doing very well. The habit of finishing grids is just a sign of addiction and not at all necessary to enjoy the grid!
jilli are you a capricorn?
nope, Just -- Taurus
hehe
awwww jilli, what a great pic! I can't imagine living somewhere with such a view *drools*
Why?
sprite, the deer here are very cheeky -- will go right up to the house, and of course eat every flower in sight (except daffodils)
well you've just validated me spritey! I've gotten about a handful of fireworks. I usually get 1/2 to 2/3 done before I go to lickety's list, do what I can with that, then say ok I'm done
I guess there is a downside to everything, jilli... but it seems like it is worth it just to see them passing by!
I keep thinking attourney is in the grid =(
of course, we must realise they were here first and we're intruding on their grounds
thought you might be capricorn....= goat= slow and steady....perserveering
wonderful, Mar! This game is about having fun, not about achievements and beating others. Sounds like you know how to play :)
Just -- why did you ask if I were a capricorn?
yeah, jilli, it was terrible where i used to live in ca...i lived in a housing development and when they drove the dears out of a nearby area by making another, we'd see the deer in the streets all the time.
oh, just missed your comment, Just, lol!
deers even
taurus seems about right... once jilli gets moving, she goes on until the very end :)
I'm a capricorn jilli so I know of what I speak
Just, my dad was a capricorn and grandson is too
actually deer is plural on its own so i don't know why i said deers. prob this weeklong headache.
Half way - BBL
yep spritey.....it's not the destination, it's the journey
bfn, lynxxx, hurry back :)
exactly, Mar!
is lickety's list up, btw?
why isn't someone who moves people out of their homes a vacator?
yep
tr4, just and sprite
Just over the halfway mark....
Yes, Just
thx jilli
deciding if now's the time lol
*hugs jilli* Just because.
I'm nowhere near half way and still have 3 blank tiles (vowels, of course)
nah gotta get at least 3 more to make an even 100 left
lol Mar
Rows bought me and her Babble shirts! My husband says he won't be seen in public with me in one though so I'll just have to geek it up with her when I visit her.
Awww, sprite *hugs back*
lolol elsh
XD
lol Elsh, let him talk. Put it on and let him decide if he wants to walk on the other side of the street :D
got 2 blanks still
haha
I keep wanting to make vowelwords that end in ment, jilli. Or any words that end that way, actually.
one more blank eliminated...
wtg jilli!
shhhhhh*t. Sorcerer is a phantom????
my blanks are: 2nd a from bottom in leftmost column and top s in 4th column from right
plus need 1 more for 100 left
jilli, 4th column from the right? Or 2nd?
that was just who asked about the S -- I have those S words -- I think -- forum helpers...
oops, Cat needs food again -- back in a bit
forum helpers?
sorry jilli, you are right. It was Mar.
I'm such a lurker lol you didn't think it was me :)
nah, just not totally awake here, lol. I didn't look further than the J.
I'm in a lurkless mood tonight tho I luv all you guys!
babblers nice grid
meh
lol
lub ya right back hun. And I lub lore! Morning lore!
hi loredana
and Mar, I still don't know which S you mean.
hugs for sprite!!!
I love everyone too! But I better get some sleep here.
is there a reason for the v?
we even love you while you sleep, Elsh!
you mean, except to torment us, Mar?
Hehe, goodnight everyone!
I should too but one day that's all I'll do so the heck with that
sweet dreams elsh
night elsh
night and sweet dreams, Elsh
I need one moreeeeee before I go to lickety......spritey? gonna help me
Mar, I am trying to! WHICH S is the missing one?
night elsh and hi all
how about an 8 letter one......don't have any ...heheh
hi MVA! *hug*
hi MVA
lol, too early for me for those, sorry. I just started. And my sorcerer is not valid.
figure if I'm asking I may as well ask high, no?
n'est pas?
mais oui, ma petite, mais oui.
Morining all. My first phantom of the day - torture -says it all.
honhonh une autre qui parle la langue de Molieres!!!
hi Frances, lol! Mine are accrement, sorcerer and some more.
yep frances you said it!
hi frances, lol
un petit peu, c'est tout.
c'est plus que plusiers autres mais tu es en europe
oh yes... attorney is the other one
Did you know we have language police (us anglo's call them the Tongue Troopers) here in la bell e province?
ah oui, c'est vrai, la jolie France est nearby. :)
hello frances
lol
and what do they police, for heaven's sake?
Hello lore
nearby = pres de chez nous
why the language spritey
thanks Mar! See how little I remember... but will remember this phrase now
errr yeah, ok, the language, but HOW?
anyone can call up the office de la langue francaise and make a complaint about English being predominant and they will send out their gestopo to investigate
morning all!!
omg that is sick!
hi pink, morning! *hug*
and I thought Belgium was bad that way...
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
well gestopo is a bit heavy handed but I'm sure you get my drift
2 am hiccup time, Mar... patience ;)
lol lol lol lol
yikes their after me now for sure
got your drift
but then... I mean, so ok, say people use more english than french in a certain street. The police is gonna stand next to them and hit their head each time they use english?
Les quebecois(e)s are wonderful people but very
low self esteem
we get your drift!!
geez thought the burp passed
sorry (hides head in shame)
lolllllllll Mar, patience, my dear. Hitting enter is not gonna solve it... *giggles*
morning all... *hands just some gaviscon*
sounds lkike they take a while to say things too..lol
well I did the first time but I certainly did not just below
hey rolin! *hug* How's life, hun?
is it me..??... or is this an unfriendly grid?
poor Mar. Never mind, babble is weird that way.
hey sprite... busy... been office renovating all week...
so far it seems very pleasant, rolin. But I am not yet halfway.
good busy or bad busy?
they're all unfriendly with their vowel infested squares
hi rolin! finding it hard work
oh well maybe im having a thick day...i can live with that..lol
lol Mar and rolin
I would have sworn mercator was a WORD.
oh good busy... the office i took over was just an embarrassment..so without cjn this week..my deputy and i ripped it out..replastered, painted hung shevles and notice boards...and now it looks like a place of work
Just & sprite -- on the news tonight -- the Quebec language police are after and Irish Pub in Montreal because they have signs in English.
any 8's spritey......still needing one for my cent (hundred)
wow rolin, goooood! I love it.
ooohhh youre joking jilli?
good grief, Mar, that is terrible
Mar: no 8s yet here. Only phantom 8s.
yes that's why I'm babbling about it lol
absolutely no joke, rolin -- $1500 fine if they don't put up French signs
but its an 'irish' pub...
jilli, that is really bad. That is sick.
actually it'a an Irish pub called McGibbons and they have antique metal signs inside as decor
Jilli I love the picture of your local deer.
oh well thats just stupid...if it was operational singage..i could almost go ewith it...but decor??
There was a big to do about apostrophes a while ago. Eaton's department store had to become Eatons, etc etc
am I being disrespectful when I tell that police department to go focus on something that actually hurts people?
they ban apostophes?
people fight over an apostrophe in a world like this??? *tries to get mouth closed again*
oh that's ancient history already
oh, they're not police police, just tongue troopers from "L'Office de la Langue Francaise", going about and checking that French is dominant everywhere
but why?
Yep we got language laws here in our democratic society
but they are official enough to fine people???
Les Quebecois are worried that they will lose their language because they are a small island in a sea of North American English
because as they claim, they are 6 million French speakers in a sea of 300 millions English speakers and they must protect their culture and language
i dont wish to be disprespectful...but they need to get a grip!
they fine businesses not people
i did it again. fell asleep onthe couch for an hour and a half =/
I am actually shocked. I mean, jeezzzz taking it so far as to demand that an IRISH pub (I repeat: irish) decorates its interior with French.
Many people are unaware of the French heritage in all of North America -- for instance, Detroit is a French name, which may surprise many who live there
carra... might mean you need the sleep
hi sprite, jill
well detroit is actually aborignal but cadillac founded detroit
i had 8 hours last night
would there be businesses without people? to say they fine businesses is sophism
i'd say the owner of the pub thinks it is very personal, yes
they've fined huge corporations..multi nationals who operate here....can't really say there's a person behind that
and hi BabbleRabble, good to see you
i understand the need to preserve culture and cultural history...but rationality still need to exist..the irish pub signs is insane
D'etroit = Narrows
Just heard on the news that our ’wonderful’ government are thinking of introducing smoking permits. You will have to pay £10 to have a licence to buy cigarettes. Sounds like another money making scheme to me......and I don’t smoke.
carra: 8 hours last night... and over the last month or so, average?
yeah it sure does frances
Frances... my dear god. And I was thinking the netherlands were crazy for all their rules and regulations about almost everything.
yeah i heard that too frances... im sure the daily mail will brand them id cards by stealth
yes it is rolin
hi carra
we live in a very alice in wonderland like place here
and then the next step will be: all people who smoke are registered now, by means of the permit, and they will have to start paying even higher fees for health ensurances.
so, Just, detroit is NOT aboriginal -- did you see my post at 2:15?
my bad jilli
it is definitely a french name, jilli!
There are many others I can't think of just now
phantoms: strumpet and acumen
Just -- did you ever get that S word at the top?
but I know for sure that Antonie de Cadillac founded Detroit
We have a congestion charge in London. You have to pay £8 to drive in every day. Now the mayor has intruduced a charge of £25 per day for gas guzzlers. I'd like to know where all this money goes.
and meteor
nope but did get to my 100 mark to go to lickety's :)
and dont forget the polluting tax for trucks frances
and I still don't know which S Mar asked about, lol.
so why do you not show your British flag, Frances?
top S 2nd from left
That too rolin.
Mar I have an English flag. I'm proud to be ENGLISH.
it is an english flag
frances -- great icon!
but it looks Swiss? to me
Just as those like Flask have a Scottish flag.
just, it's the flag of St George of England.
Swiss flag is white cross on a red background
oh sorry not up on my saints :( not of the Christian faith
The British Union Jack (or flag now) is made up of the flags of St George, St Andrew and St Patrick, superimposed on each other
Thanks jilli. Left over from icon Friday last week.
It's good that you're proud. I am too. I live in a county and yeah, even a province that is a democractic and free
place
thx jilli
where life and human dignity are paramount
amen to that, even though it is a phantom today
BTW, yesterday (Feb 15) was Canada's Flag Day. The current flag was flown for the first time on Feb 15, 1965 (I think that's the year)
does your provence allow the teaching of a foreign language; if so, do you have to go out of the provence to speak it?
not sure but my hubby has made sure that his flag flies freely on our front lawn :)
we can learn any language we want to and speak it wherever we want to... guess that is a lot of freedom
it's really not as bad as it sounds babble
babrab, that's another Quebec goodie. You have to have special reasons to go to an English school. French-speaking kids are not taught English early.
Montreal is a very cosmopolitan city and many languages are spoken on the streets
it caused a constitustional crisis not that many years ago
but we settle our causes by the ballots not the bullets and that's all that counts
Hear hear, Just
...but remember the FLQ?
I agree, Mar
ancient history now jilli
yes, but it came too close to bullets
you start out with gestapo and now .... well I will move on
a whole new generation has grown up since then and with this world of globilization and instant communication, they know they're lucky to live in this free and democratic and safe environment
I was being facetious rabble
*hugs BabbleRabble*
sure
I truly was
the town of Hudson in western Quebec, where I used to live, has people so bilingual they're not conscious of which language they're speaking and have no accents in either language
everyone gets along just fine
and they (we) switch between english and french without even realizing it
that sounds good, jilli and Mar. Would be nice if that would be allowed to spread.
like everywhere else it's the damn politicians that like to stir the pot
for their own partisan reasons
bien sur!
and smoke it too
we, the people, are just fine!
Just changed my icon to my favourite local animal.
if they smoked it ruru things would be a helluva lot better :)
I'm still missing a word for the lower A on the left and E in the 4th column
it would certainly take them longer to raise taxes
ok I'll shut up now and go back to what I do best....lurking
it was an interesting topic, Mar.
nice badger, frances -- wind in the willows?
thank you spritey! always interesting to know how other's live.
and others too
it is, Mar. I never knew this, only from Belgium.
evano*** is in the grid tonight
it is interesting just, never realised this before
lol -- I was about to sic the apostrophe police on you!
They are so beautiful jilli. Always amazes me that people want to kill them.
It's difficlut there too. Probably a lot worse than here
are you american MVA?
no just, i live in wales
Ha! got that A word

Hi Woof

HI
Hi Infernal
Hello infernal
hello to all i have missed!!
hi lady
Hi pnk. Lovely sunny day today.
Hiya Pink and herin.
Waves lots.
its freezing though!
Frances Quilting Question please
Fire away infernal
I am off and on here, so if I don't answer or greet somebody, it is because I am afk, and nothing at all personal! *hugs* and *waves*.
Is silk quilting the same as normal quilting in style but different fabric?
Hugs sprite i hope you are well
Hi Lynxx and Moon and Frances and Pink HUGS
Yes infernal. I use silk dupion fabric and silk thread to sew it together.
Ok fantastic. Sounds so pretty. I am always interested in learning new techniques with hand sewing
Not the easiest of fabrics to work with infernal but the results are very satisfying.......to me anyway.
I have found that silk is very much like taffy pull too much and it breaks
can anyone help with po6 24?
Very slippery to work with. Not the same grip as cotton.
HI Hillary
Hi!
I have hand made velvet and lace elbow high gloves before
I juat started sotrry
looks like Stubbs is going to finish before me, for once
brb

po6/24 - Bill and Ben were these. Compound word involving males.
sorry hillary
Hi Haz
hello Haz lovely to see you keeping well then?
at least you have your wa teams in the right order. I like carlton too.
and i loved their singing bill and ben that is
I'm better after a bad cold - waves to all, back to lurking.
hey all - is this aussie rules you are talking about?
more cooking sherry Haz
po 6 --- plumbers
tks so much for the B&B clue.
hello lickety yep afl
not you too Lickety! Hi
Thought it must be Aussie rules. We used to support the Bombers when in Melbourne.
lickety will be league go the eels!!!!
I like the sport but rarely get to watch it - Just the occasional grand final. I have seen one game live though
cool frances!!!
in sydney it's not as popular than in melbourne
don't know how we'd live without our footy... hanging out for the season to start.
I'm a cricket scorer and the only time I got to the MCG was to watch Aussie rules!
hillary true blue hey?
I gave up on rugby league about 20 years ago when my club started to buy and sell players from other areas - to me it lost the whole point
i agree Lickety
I follow international though
hmmm... i actually came here from canada some 20 odd year ago... it was only after having the kids and seeing them get into it that i started to take an interest... now i'm completely hooked.
an assimilated aussie.
so the ice hockey went down the drain?
good on you hilary - I know rugby league is probably has the biggest following here. My sport that I'm religous about is international - MotoGP
actually aussie rules is the only sport that comes close to hockey for the speed and the turnovers and the excitement. saw an NHL match in vancouver in january.
I really enjoy watching ice hockey - saw a game a few weeks ago on cable - loved it
Is that motor bikes lickety?
I went to an ice hockey game in Boston - bought tickets 5 mins before kick off at the venue - and was right behind a goal. Met some lovely people too. Frances - yes MotoGP is motorbikes and we have an Australian champion at the moment - Casey Stoner - I've been following every race for about 25 years
bbl

Got that one thanks Haz......good morning.
Sorry - won't do that again!!

Keep wanting to type things like crumpet, trumpet and strumpet.
ok mrp is now on the phone to her bridesmaid whom I personally haven't seen for about 10 years and is organised her to come to my daughters 10 year old birthday party next week - so she might be a little while
Hi Sprite!
Great lickety. So good to catch up with old friends. Will do mrp good.
Yes Frances! Time for renewed relationships for sure!
Just need to let everyone know I'm doing 12 hour days work 3 days a week again - but still should be able to do clues. Ok boy it gets tiring though - unforunately I couldn't wake up this Sat morning and missed taking my son to his 8:30am gym session
We forget how time flys
FIREWORKS
Lickety do the list if you can don't worry if you cant
You deserve the extra time in bed lickety. I'm sure your son understands.......and we certainly understand if the list doesn't appear.
Everyone has to push the limits on life - it's amazing what you can get done. I work a 12 hour day, get 6 hours sleep and then get on my motorbike for an hour ride through manic traffic - and I have to keep myself so focused to not make a mistake. I have to be so careful - and in fact aggressive with traffic - expecting everything to happen so that I have some control over the situation. The major worry is those things like road conditions and the wierd stuff like animals or total chaos
FIREWORKS, thanks to the roommate
well done Stubbs and imprint3454
Are you seeing the video?
long but great!
Must go and do some laundry. Family back from Sweden tomorrow. Will be back later to finish. Have a good day/evening everyone.

OH dear Sprite Mr pres and every one is at the below link
Panic never helps so no point in worrying so. Good to hear its all getting sorted Sprite
very tr4, lynxxx! And thanks :)
lady, I took a quick peek too
SPrite is all ok?
Brb must do dishes
I wouldn'
wouldn't call it ok, but we are finding solutions, lady.
oh dear did the car break?
car broke down, we just got it back last wednesday. Hubby has a painful and swollen ankle, has been suffering from gout for 6 weeks now, but doc thinks this one is different... might be arthritis. Etc.
OH Hugs
thanks hun. It is nothing major, just shitty.
and you know how panicky I can become, so that's what made it worse.
wouldn't be inflamed heel spurs would it Sprite? extreme pain when first getting on feet from sitting etc
no, it is inside the joint, lynxxx. It started with gout at the toes. Then it moved to the foot, and was still very painful at the touch. But this ankle thing is new. Not so painful at the touch, but painful to walk on and very stiff.
Sprite Breath. Its very handy to remember (even if i don't half the time)
lol lady, you are totally right.
Spite - ((((Hugs)))) so sorry to hear things are though - Live in the now - it'll al work out ok
Looking at house to live in
lickety, I know, I just keep forgetting, lol. Thanks dear! and HUGS right back atcha
sorry about the typing - Sprite - you are one amazing person! You are an inspiration to me!
sounds nasty Sprite..I'll keep my fingers crossed that it is one of those things that disappears after a few weeks. Remember, no panicking, just work through it all as best you can - that's all we all can do
Grrrr. Find the perfect place and its electric stove and top. bugger back to hunting
morning babblers!
Hi Nono
Herin whats wrong with electric stove?
doc thinks it is arthitis. She made an appointment with the specialist, he goes next week.
Stove top electric drives me nuts need flames for cooking. Oven not so much a problem
infernal - you might have trouble finding gas oven - I agree with you about gas top though
from doing laundry. Infernal, you sound like me. Much prefer to cook with gas.
THeres lots of old dears in this area so i think it may be tricky. Cant have the old dears burning the house down.
That should read back from doing laundry.
Well I'm an 'old dear' infernal and no fires here......yet!
I prefer gas to cook on as well but electric really isnt that bad once you get use to it
You can control gas much easier.
Nono both b.f and i are ex chefs the thought of electric top cooking drives me nuts. THere is a few houses about. Looking to move April May time
Try induction electric, sometime. It's amazing. The best of both worlds.
That and i think that this is an old area and a lot of old areas didn't have mains gas so electric it was
good luck with your search then herin, I hope you find something
OH and on another note. Im desperately trying to convince the b.f to come to the art gallery with me tomorrow as there is a Nick Cave Exhibit and its free. Also public transport on Sundays is about $2.70
Thanks Nono
which gallery Infernal..my Jess is big fan
Arts Center in the city

hi-by,Angel&Sprite
hi ho!
hi Angel
G'd morning Babblers
hi Lori!
This grid is annoying me with the excessive re presence. Ack!
I am finding an interesting set of words... at4, pe5, er5 + 7, er5/14. Ok, so, my mind is a gutter.
pe 5 was one of my first words......heh heh heh
hehehe... good girl
ohhhh and tr5/14 and pluralt
er 5 can be a result? heh heh heh
now I get it. It is not me. It is the grid!
Good morning Babble Teammates!
it has to be er5/12 before it can er5/14
hi Scrabbler!
It's a gutter grid!
G'd morning Scrabbler
Oh, my, I walk into a discussion of male anatomy and performance.
bound to give you lots of words, Scrabbler!
morning Lori, scrabbler and everyone else i missed
You say that like it's a bad thing Scrabbler..... :-)
it is a lusty grid :D
hi Nanette
G'd morning Nono!
lori i agree on the re's have been trying to finish them for some time LOL
Lori, Lori, Lori, weren't you gleefully cluing the P word a few days ago?
Possibly Scrabbbler, I can neither confirm nor deny that at this time. :-)
I can confirm it.
one pe*i* does not make an orgy.... pe5 might.
Diving in!
Agree that the grid is a racy one, tho strumpet is a no show...
LOLOLOLOL, that choice of words makes me giggle Scrabbler
Oh, my, Lori. LOL
G'd morning jan
hi Jan
re: be a player on stage again, make an X again, run into somebody again (past tense), make a bird's home again and 3rd person singular, go fast again, pull back.
Morning Lori, Scrabbler, Sprite, and all...
all the others are NO again words. And the first one isn't really an again word. the player on stage.
hi Jan
Hi all.... in keeping with the theme, we have c***rt, too!
lol Jandy
In the spirit of diving, I'll join Scrabbler in her debauchery, and "dive in".
I got 4 of those, Sprite, TY...I am working on the others.
if you need more of a clue for one, let me know, Scrabbler
oh, and for the other people who have trouble finding this one every time, like me: ps4: hush word with no vowels.
Just the last one sprite... please...
I am just getting intimate with the grid (in keeping with our theme) so I don't know all the words to do again, place RE in front.
Jandy: trick or ***** again.
Make an X? I don't see mark or sign.
Scrabbler: the form of an X. Or a +.
TY--got that one now.
Thanks Sprite, got it now!
omg thanks sprite thats my last re!! been searching forever for it
Aha, TY.
re's are way easier, when I don't have to do them. :-) They practically flow....
yayyyyy Nanette! Wtg!
lol Lori
Go fast again?
not walk but....
or a replay of your favorite show
And thanks for the hush word too... that would have done my little addled brain in
crawl ? :-)
OK, now I see it--I didn't see how to make it before, but that bottom middle R eluded me.
I always miss that one, Jandy. I keep forgetting some words don't have a vowel.
lol Lori! Fast, not slowwwww.
The E at the end of second row is giving me grief, but I'
What word has no vowel?
oops
NM--I see it.
ps4, Scrabbler
2nd re 7 was what? ****again for the blond please***
I'm trying not to use Lickety just yet... any ideas please?
2nd re7 is not an again word
it is the office of the director of a gymnasium
I have to leave for work in an hour, and it will be a long, crazy day filled with sick kids. Winter vacation week starts today and everyone wants their kid well stat for trips out of town.
Jandy, there are 9 words from that one!
darn Scrabbler... good luck. *hugs*
??director of a gymnasium
I know sprite... sadly, I have a big, fat one of them!
***deer in headlights look, at the gym clue***
Scrabbler and Lori, perhaps not in english then, hold on
two stunned deer in headlights now
hm, I was right. a member of the clergy in charge of a parish in the Protestant Episcopal Church or the head of certain universities, colleges, and schools.
Jandy, I will try. But I have to find out first which ones come from that E.
Oh, I get it now. TY, Sprite.

Ditto that
Bye for now, then, Sprite
Hm, shall I cease trying to find V words?
I believe so.... though you should get some kind of special prize if you can find one!
i vote yea on that scarbs
I do that a lot, look for words from a greyed out tile.
There are times when I feel I have just as much chance of success that way!
mornin all can I get a clue for the ar5? pullin my hair out

oh, make that 3
Okay, you get the special prize! English?
TY--now I have ne4, ca6 and ca7.
two are in keeping with the randy theme here...
the combo is: to prance or caper about. 2. to behave in a high-spirited, festive manner; make merry.
totally IN theme today
And ta4. Does that cover the V use?
They are indeed
oh, and av4
thanks for the ta :) and for the ne :)
I thought you meant words that BEGAN with V, sprite! I was extremely impressed!
Teamwork, people. Yeah!
Jandy, lol, there are none today. I found many, though. But enable doesn't like them.
Haven't got my head around enable yet. What do I need to do?
found the ta. Still looking for the ne that uses the V.
No, I didn't mean that ne4
just type in words, Jandy, and you will be fine :)
You gave me the Loch Ne4 clue
22 words to go...
owwww ok! Try that as an ending too, Scrabbler. Some biggies end that way.
Wow, there's a concept I hadn't thought of...duh, Scrabbler--get to work.
Hm, but then the prefix must end with P, E or U...
thanks, sprite, just got the tr8 and so8
Yippee, tr8!

Yeah, that one is a real torturer...
I keep trying V words. I need to st**!
I get to the point that even though I know they're not there I have to type them in to put it out of my head... sad really...
I am still collecting Babble Statistics if anyone is inerested. I post them in the chat at the end of each month. Just to give an idea of how many words we've had.
That bottom E--clues?
I will check that angel thanks

good morning all
yw angel
it's so nice to see that cheeky butt
hi lillllllllll!! how are you today hin?
good morning lilmonkey
where's your loo gone, i need it?
just woke up... going to have a GREAT day :)
ok, I need a little help my babble friends.... regarding party games for 10th birthday
morning angel!
ty for the 9 and 10 ... I had been eyeing the area.
oh my loo had a leak, it's off being repaired
is it all girls mrp?
i only know of "pin the tail on the donkey" mrpres, now you know how OLD i am!
oh good as i wouldn't want to make a mess lil! LOL
pinattas mrp
my bairn is 8, and i usually do crafty things at her parties, like decorating tshirts and jeans,...the bairns could bring there own and you only need sequins and things you can glue on and fabric pens
oh that sounds fun! cheeky , throw a party for older chicks and let's decorate T-shirts
By the way, where is the 10?
a friend of mine has one of those shops where you buy and paint your own pottery piece, she says little girls have group parties there
i like the old games, musical statues and chairs and pass the parcel, but they might think thats boring now, have tyou asked the bairn what she would like to play mrp?
i thnk the 10 starts with nu, merk
ty
sorry, i'm wrong... nu9 and en10
the 10 is the same as the 9 merc minus letter
nope, that's the nu 9
sorry, meant add a letter
LOL... i know i just woke up, but my brains are totally scrambled now
Oh, it's the en 10
that sounds good lil....not your brain being scrambled, hee hee, but the pottery. me and my daughter buy cheap pots and paint them and glass painting and we love to make cards
we have set up at the moment: Royal Party - make and decorate your own crown/tiara and then decorate your own goblet (which will then be the lollybag to take home) Ballot for best costume, king, queen, prince, princess, knight etc... Musical statues.... what else??
i like to make hand-painted cards too cheeky
how about competiton for best curtsy :)
or "best royal wave "
I am putting paper down on the tables, with crayons so they can draw all through the party
oh that is good!
any other royal games?
just put loads of crafty things on the table mrp and they will make what ever they want
other than the obvious, drinking till they fall down drunk or cheating on their spouses LOL
LOL
What other crafty thing do you think they could do besides crown/tiara and goblet?
it would be fun to make "masquerade" ball masks
a sceptre
a sceptre! ah, what would I need for that
nopw thats a fun party!!! LOL apart from the cheating bit of course!
we have 20+ kids coming!
great idea lil, you can make the masques out of card and let them decorate them, and stick straws on the sides to hold
get some dow rods cut them to size - glitter - ribbon - paint
yes! have beads, sparkles, feathers to decorate them
and stick a ball on the end of the scepter, like a teniss ball, put a hole in it so it stops on and decorate with foil
tennis even
masks! fab idea
prolly use those foam balls - cheaper
cut out masks and put elastic on them, have them decorate and wear them for the dances
foil! yes, that would work well!
i just found an alternate word for loo! po5
I can get heaps of ribbon and crafty gems and glitter
foam balls, much better idea elise
ty
shame i don't live near you mrp, my house is full of crafty things, it drives my hubby to distraction!!
wish i was going to this party - sounds fun
oh this is going to be fun! Now, after the craft, what do I do with 10 and 11 year olds?? Dance??
it does elise, i wonder if us grown ups are allowed!!
dancing sounds great mrp
Is anyone here using BabbleExpert?
pin the sword on the dragon?
oh yes, grown ups are allowed and we are holding a BBQ for them
that's a good idea little!
i meant us babblers mrp!! :-)
i am insisting on byo for their drinks... perhaps I should ask them to bring their own meat too
how about a plate of something from each of them
Is anyone here using BabbleExpert?
yes ankhor
oh cr*p... it is 1am and I have to get out to soccer for 8 hours tomorrow! darn... I better get to bed! Thanks for the brill ideas and love to all my babble friends! nite nite!
I just uploaded and opened it -- nice! but the right window shaves off either the outer half of the chat, or the outer half of the puzzle -- is that the way it is for you, too?
and yes lill, will ask them for that! *poof*
does anyone have the first two te6's?
bye mrp, sleep well
Bye, MrP, have fun!
click on the yellow lines and you can move them ankhor
te6: prime, te*, sext, nones, vespers, matins, lauds
Ahah! and I have to type new words first in the puzzle, and then re-type in the Lickety window, right? It's not automagic?
are these prayers ank?
The canonical hours, at which specific prayers are said. Does that help with the te6?
no, either type in the babble box and then click send to clues or the other way round.yellow boxes above the game
niot with someone whos totally areligious...lol
go to the top and click on the lickety add. only have to type once.
sends to both places at once.
prime, first hour after sunrise; te6*, third hour after sunrise; sext, sixth hour after sunrise... does that hlep you guess?
Littlebit, how clever! Thanks!
im hini
im hini
te6- the number and peggy *** and plural

is the number the one after nine?
i couldn't remember if that was her name espirit
I think it should be S** Ellen + plural letter
but you can't make that name, the letters don't connect
yes lil

Do you use fresh lemons, lilli?
i sprinle a half teaspoon ful of sugar on and you can use fresh lemons or bottled
sprinkle even
st5 12, any hints? Also prepared to give up on sty5 14 (the pig-start one)
plural the sty... not in the normal way
st 5/12---what a barber sharpens the razor with
add a vowel before the last plural, ank
st5 14 is a eye condition pl on end

ankh, the kids were disappointed but not I
ank, i can't get the first four OR the last four letters of pu8
the first four have to be the pu4,6

Well, Annie, better disappointed than horrified by what has to be done about 13 brandnew baby hamsterlings

can't figger out that ne6 girls name, hurshy
my mummy said she was glad there were three of us sisters in my family because then if anything tragic happened to one of us we would not be left sisterless
me neither lil
oh, well, it wasn't a clue, was it, unless you knew her.
it just made me think of it, when i found it.
it builds off the bird word
i was thinking nellie, but no Ls
dsgf
no, this was their LAST name
bird home and small word
so you would never just figure it out.
*pats goldies on head*

Hi all.....clue please for re6/21 please?
i've heard ne6 as a first name for men (i think it's a southern thing)
still can't figure out the "name" clue
ne 6 ---king in greek mythology
Hello Flask, it can either be a plural for re6/21 or the clergyman who lives in the re7/40
goldies, how nice to see you back
a name of a churm person flask
church even

the te 6, 21 rhymes with a v word where events are held .... ?

yes indeedy it does merk
oops not the nuclear one, the next one
i mean, i don't think it actually does, because it's got to be the plural of that babblet we have sometimes, and so, it must not sound that way, but it looks like it could sound that way, if you get my drift
OK, and we both live in the US so the v place where events are held shoud be familiar to me. Thinking cap.
I can't even think of the v place to get to the te it sounds similar to.
Merk, for the v word, think of what it's called when a trial is moved to a new place - a change of v**** plus an s.
some people live on streets and some people live on av*****

Hi Hydra - if only! I can't work out these re's at all - they are all I have left
sorry does that mean u have the re7 / 40?
good morning all. Lynxxx, were you on last night when I was having problems with the list?
I need two, lynxxx. The one I mentioned and the one after it. Yes, I have the re7/40. It's the home of a religious man. His name is the 6/21 that comes before it
Hi Autumn - yes, did it get sorted/
Has anyone got a clue for that en10 plz?

the other re7.32 is re + the sign of the X
Hi all.. Still having problems I see. As I said earlier, exactly the same happened with me, the only thing that solved it was a flip and a new set of clues, I'm afraid.
Sorry, that was to Autumn!!!
Not going to finish today, so I'm off to look at holidays.
bye Liz - that sounds really good!
Holidays? Where are you thinking of going?
Athens or Sicily, I think Athens is going to win as Sicily involves a very expensive and long journey (3 plane stops)
Anyway, off to do a little research and a lot of daydreaming!!
Have fun Liz
and obviously more 'green' then, most carbon emmissions during the take-offs and landings
Thanks, byeeee.
Once you're in AThens you can get a boat to anywhere, Liz. It's brilliant!
I'm off to read but can I help with any clues before I go?
Lynxxx, very noble thought. I'm afraid double the cost was my first concern, though I AM an active "greenie". lol
natch Liz!
Oh...I just fixed my problem. I copied the link instead of clicking on it and put it into a new browser window. YAY!!!
looking for my other 132 words!
clever Autumn!
Hydra, what's Athens itself like? Do you have time to drop me an email with some tips? (address in profile)
YAY, Autumn.
I only had an overnight stay in Athens, Liz, but there's the Parthenon. That's unmissable. Yes, I'll email you.
See you all later
if anyone is here if moonwolf logs in later, please mention it worked for me.
Thanks, Hydra. We'd be staying a week. Really bye this time *pooooof* (that was a long winded poof)
And I know a few of those .....boom boom!! Sorry not very PC.
By Liz. Later! I'll write to you after I've found my last 8 words.
Oh, Brookie, thanks, I had that one; the second one, I'm still working on Lynxx's re+sign of the...oh, DUH! Thanks, Lynxxx!
Hello BabbleLand! Ank, it's been forever since I've seen you! :-)
Scarlet!!! Hi! I had the mumps. And a bunch of other stuff, but most recently, the mumps. Well, one mump. :)
Holey moleys! Are you feeling better now, Ank? One mump, two... who cares... that's nasty!
::: fake-sobs ::: well, maybe I'm :: more fake sobs :: STERILE!!!!
::: laughs hysterically, is way too old to care :::
LOL... you're still the same old Ank... ain't right in the head, but I loves ya!!
But I avoided all my young friends. Actually, avoided everyone, and tried not to breathe on the doctor.
Wow... where in Sam Hill did you contract that disease?
Hurt like the dickens. I didn't know mumps hurt.
NO idea! Not a clue!
I'm glad you avoided me! I still haven't had the MMR2 vaccine
I'm the age which either did not get vaccinated, or got only one dose before they figured out you needed two. Yes, Uniquity, it's serious.
Uni!! Ank... leave it to you... Uni, you'd better get some needles in your tushie!!
I'm a one doser...which is funny, because I am only 19 and in the States they kne better, but Canada did not
Maybe she's too old for MMR now?
Oh, lordy... it is more serious for boys not to be vaccinated, but just as bad for girls in other ways.
Hard to say... it's a doctor's call now...
re5, 10? Anyone? Well, Uni, maybe you need that second shot, honey. Thnk about it.
Variant spelling of the rope, Ank
No no, they've learned girls' gonads swell up too, we just don't see it happening. The ovaries get all inflated. The rope? Hmmm.
MMR vac's? my daughter is 24 and she got them at 12, 18, 24 and 30 months. I know I had a 3 shot series when I was an infant/toddler
RE + Babbler ***lante
About a year ago when they had the big outbreak in NS, I wanted to get it but wasn't allowed. Then in September they tried forcing people to get it, but the clinics were always on weekends when i was away. Now, I just need to make an appointment
Hope you're feeling better Ankh.
Autumn, when were you born, can I ask?
four times? Really? I had one and need the second, that is the most I have ever heard of
Best you do, Uni... especially if you plan to have a family...
Well, I can vouch: unpleasant, and FUGLY.
vancouver, bc,canada
Hi, Autumn!! Good to see you!
Yes, thanks, much better, Autumn, but still draggy and fatigued.
oh...not reading ...1962
The older we get, the harder it hits us...
Errr, that was "when" and not "where" :) Yeah, 1959 here, so similar issue.
I slept like a ferret the first week, 20 hours out of 24.
Rope? Re5 10 is a rope?? Hmmmm, hmmm, hmm.
Se other clue at 12:20, Ank
hi red....
Kattie!! {{{hugs and smooches}}} Are you feeling any better yet? #%*! Flu...
okay - I need to look for words so I can actually finish a grid. Happy searching everyone! (hi Carlee)
Whew...didn't know that the lasso was in the grid, I had to change my profile cuz I had the word in there!
LOL, Scarlet, that I got right away! Hey, did you know she's a great photographer? She is... nature shots, really stunning pro-quality work.
yeap...way better...but now way tired
LOl, Uni... I thought today was local animals, and I am fascinated by the Plott Hound, the state dog, which has the distinction of being the only breed which originated here in NOrth Carolina.
4 bottles of gatorade and some ibuprophen...
She is amazing in anything she does, Ank... a lovely lady and super smart... fun, too!
ankhy!!!
what is today's theme..what day IS it
That's some diet, Kat... have you been able to rest too?
Ata!! @@@ <---roses
It is local animals..I just don't think there are any here.
I worked on the Wikipedia article for the Plott a long long time ago.
^^^^^^^ is a local animal everywhere.
No kidding, Ank? Wow... no-one here seems to know much about it... I love it!
hi all! just popping in quickly while I can!
uh..no...not yet...we had the sleepover last nite... 2 hours ..on concrete... with 1 eye open...my body ready for sleep but I have too much caffeine in me right now to do so
ATALANTE!!! We were just talking about you, scroll back!!!
((((Ata))))
No, don't tell her, Ank... she'll get more smug... LOL
I just saw!! *BLUSH*
**throws self at Ata**
its so good to see you back on babble!
Scarlet, I love all hounds. And Ata, yes, we love youuuu.
Well, just for the weekend. I'm getting over the mumps, scroll down so I don't bore everyone.
awwwww! ty. I needed that at the moment!
I need the last four letters of the so8...?
{{{hugs to Ata}}} How is your sister, Ata... any better at all?
You've got quite a pile-on here, Ata. :) Good for the ego.
Try the Scottish lake, Ankh
Your sister? ill?
ill, yup. but stable. and I'm going back home tomorrow. wheee! I can babble again! and I get to see Silverclaw again!
Oh, for heaven's sake, I screwed that up on the pu8 in exactly the same way. :::whacks self firmly with small fish:::
home where? I think of you in UK, but flag is not...???
LOL, Ankh..
::: marches through 8's to find other lake words :::
flag is England ;)
Hello, Ata, Hello, all.
Kat, when are you going to take the time for yourself and just tell everyone that you need it to be functional? Or, is that just dreaming? Hi, Vi!!
hiiii viiiii!
Hello, Scarlet! =)
Man, the angel ranks are growing
Aha, okay... confused, ignorant colonial here.
We're ready to take on another job, Uni. Uhh... how'd that essay go?
*grins*
***quietly polishing halo for future tasks***
It was good, Vi. Well, we hope so. How have you been?
task: po8? not lake-ish?
phantom: prune, strumpet
PO 8 is plural of PO7/36= sit straight?? The 8 is a phoney persohn
I am dandy, as always, thanks. A million organizational e-mails a day, but they're harmless enough.
Not plural... I am a fool... it is one who does the phoney stuff
*looking for po8...*
Ankh... I have wanted strumpet all day... she isn't here...
Thank you, Scarlet, I got there. Yay! :)
Poor Vic, perhaps I should sent you spam e-mails to add to the pile? :) Your task could be to stop worldwide spam messages!
Yippety yay for the long-missing Ankh!!
ok..local animal up...
Hello, back to find more words
Vicuna is charged with saving the world through her devotion to Babble!!
Hey there, peri-kins!! {{Hugs}}
Actually, I seem to be unusual in that spam doesn't bother me too much. It's easy enough to delete it all. I much prefer that to unwanted phone calls and piles of tree-killing junk mail.
red is particularily perky today?!?!
Oh, yeah, no problme, Scarlet. Let's see, where do i begin...
I know, but sitting here for another afternoon staring at the grid!
Scarlet, you WOULD want a strumpet, how else could you be a scarlet woman? My M-in-law objects to one of our angel cookie cutters, claims she's a strumpet... esp. when I put candy lipstick and colored eyes on her.
My spam all goes into my spam filter automatically, I delete about 100 a day. Irritates me a little, but not much. I rarely get e-mails, so it's easy enough
*by sitting here, I mean.
isnt FM our resident scarlet woman?
Ata, it would appear that we have a resident fleet of scarlet women.
was just watching a cooking show, they made several delicious tarts
HEY!!! Can you all help me with something I have to do today?? I NEED A NEW RANGE / OVEN and I would like to know, since we can't afford gas, how you feel about ceramic cooktops. Can you use any pan or pot on them? Hard to clean? Black, gray, or white?
i never get spam..my e.mail is not a "word" its all initials..so spam generators don't address me...ever
^^^^^^^ quite the scarlet hamstress.
And now peri's talking about tarts, while we're on the subject of strumpets...
no..u can't ankh
Afternoon all!
Teach me, Carlee...?
Thinking about coloured eyes - I used to work with an dear asian lad, his mother bought blue contact lenses. When his dad saw them he said omg it looks like you've gonne blind!! She didnt speak to him for days!!
they scratch easy.... need new pots and pans....free from any abrasions
:-)
OOOOOh, awful, Deeha! Yikes!
Oooh, bad, Carlee. Hmm.
and u need abrasion free cleaners... and if u have young cooks int he house..they will drag a pot/ pan across the top...scratched
Anyone else? Any other words on ceramic cooktops? And does a convection oven REALLY matter?
maybe I need to change my e-mail address then, I get lots of spam, at leat 100 a day
No, no young people here.
I was planning to catch a train at 6.20 lucky I checked, it doesnt run anymore so I am wasting time before the 7.09!!
Sheesh, Peri, get a filter!
We have ceramic cooktop. (Except it looks more like glass to me.) It cleans easily enough and has never scratched for us. The only pots that don't work well are the ones with uneven bases. They have to sit flat.
( mine is just my first 2 initials..then hubby's then our last...NO spam )
I have a spam filter, I just delete lots at a time
easiest for cleaning is a gas...u take the racks off and put in diswasher...i have a nice electric with glass front touch controls
Hubby did something to our router that cut spam way down. Don't know what.
hi Ankh, have not seen you in a while, how are you?
I recently replaced my old cooktop with ceramic and I love it. It takes a little more care but the ease of cleanup is wonderful. Just remember to ensure your pot is flat on the bottom.
I had a ceramic cooktop for a few years and loved it and didnt manage to scratch it
Conv oven - love it. Can bake 6 pies at the same time and not worry about burning the ones on the bottom rack
Just got back from a phonecall... Yes, of course I totally support Scarlet Women... the stove is a ton of work to keep pristine...
AH! Do you like the glass touch controls? Easier to clean? We can't afford gas. :(
yeap..mine in convection too....rarely use convection tho
What color, Atalante?
Propane is through the roof all over the U.S.A.
love it...easy to clean...
Pristine? Who needs a pristine stove?
Nonnie, what color, and what do you mean "flat on the bottom" -- aren't all pots that way? Can you use glass pots (pyrex?)
ermmm can't remember!
( is natural gas up here for gas )
Vicuna, I'd love for the stove to be clean. The Stoveship Enterprise which just died has 40 years of grease on it.
ok..gone to lay down...nite all... enjoy the day
Night, Carlee, thanks for all the help and advice.
No, some pots are meant to be flat but actually don't sit quite even if they're on a totally flat surface.
Some cheap-oh pots don't sit flat. Our is black.
Rest well, kattie.
Taking note of Autumn's convection comments... OH HI PERI!!! I was gone, I had the MUMPS, everyone here has heard all about it so I'll just say OUCH and I'm glad it's over.
Bye, carleekat.
I'm a clean freak for the kitchen, so grease doesn
Taking note of Vicuna's pot complaints.
stand a chance...
And Nonnie's concern.
The first 32 years of grease weren't mine. That sucker was uncleanable from the day we moved in.
Oh my, didn't know Ank, I am glad it is over too, never had the mumps
I wish I could have afforded the convection oven when we bought ours but it was more $$$ and I was already spending a ton since ours was a drop in and they seem to run quite a bit higher.
One feature ours has that I like a lot is that some of the burners have an option of big or small concentric ring, so you only heat up as much as the size of the pot requires.
If you're my age, Peri, you're from the vulnerable group 1955-1964 or so.
Ata, how did the surgery go with your sister
I would love, LOVE to own a stainless steel Viking stove with grille, double ovens and six burners... dream on...
Vicuna, I'd seen that and didn't understand it -- you like it, though?
Those are nice Vi. My daughter has that on hers and she loves them.
Ank, I am a tad older :-)
Nonnie, the drop ins cost THE EARTH. Ours is free-standing.
Nice, scarlet! :o)
That is what I don't understand..in Nova Scotia, at least...If you ar between the ages of 7 and 50, you never were properly inocculated against the mumps.
Well, Peri, then perhaps you are safe! :)
And perhaps not worried about the sterility factor!
very well, peri. thank you for asking! she's back at home and hopefully I'm heading back home for a week or two tomorrow!
glad to hear that Ata
Silverclaw awaits your return, Ata...
Ata, how is Willow?
Uniq, apparently public health authorities didn't understnad you need at least two doses, maybe more -- we think I got one dose.
Hi, Nonnie... yes, I can dream... :-)
Yes, Ankh. Usually stoves come with, say, two big and two small. But on this, if you're cooking three big pans, you have that option, but if you're cooking in three little pans the next day, you have that option, too. (Because unlike gas, you want to pick the burner that fits your pan.)
I would love a kitchen with an island
I know that, but I was always under the impression that it was a nation wide thing, but there were people on earlier from Canada who have had the inocculation more than twice, despite being in the same time range as myself
apaarently, over here, if you ate between 62-68 you missed out on a lot of vaccinations etc because they were being saved for those doing something useful during the war. I discovered I had never had a antitetanus recently
Ank, if something does spill over and leaves burnt crusties on the stove, I use a straight edge razor (after it the stovetop has cooled) and gently scrape off the crud. I then use the polishing compound (they should provide you with a sample) and it stays looking very nice.
Oooh, Deeha, that's scary.
You have to have a booster tetnus if too many years have elapsed since your childhood injection.
Ive had one now because apparently there is tetanus in the soil where I live
Deeha, I think it's just about everywhere...
I get tetnus boosters on the fives, so far. I might need one at twenty, but am not positive
Mind you that gives my age away doesnt it!!
I had a MMR booster in 5th grade and in 10th grade and again when I was 30 (in addition to the polio and tetanus)
Nonnie, thanks, I already have coupon -- is yours black, gray, or white? Vicuna, thanks for the additional lesson.
I had my last booster in 1999, so I'll be good for another 15-18 years...
Better not miss this next rtain. Talk to you all tomorrow good luck everybody
Don't they recommend a booster tetnus after 10 years? The nurse at the health dept. got me when I took our children in. She asked my how long since mine. I couldn't remember. She said if I couldn't remember then it had been too long...she stuck me.
Ps4.....I am at work....Dr Scrabbler is here to discuss immunizations with Team Babble.
bye bye deeha!
tetanus booster every 10
Lol! I got my last one at fifteen, i ca never remember if it is 5 or 10 years.
Tetanus booster is needed every 7-10 yrs, and is now given as Tdap
hello scrabbler!
Willow's fine :) she's actually sitting at my feet now. Her stitches are out and she's bouncing around like normal!
Ooh, Dr. Scrabs you should move here and be my physician!
Tdap?
Hi, Scrabbler... here's the $45 consultation fee...
good to hear that Ata
Be very quiet. I am at work, awaiting the arrival of 1 more sick child. Then I have to go to the hospital to see some kids.
tetnus deptheria pertussis and a? (my spelling sucks...sorry)
(Don't anyone make Scrabbler LOL.)
Its interesting - I think - that you dont get Tdap automatically in the UK now. You only get it if you have an accident where you need a tet jab
Bye Deeha!

Later Peri.
ah, ty
and our combo jab includes polio too
Bye Peri...
Nurse is on phone up front, med asst is filling charts.
polio too?
In US last polio booster is at age 4-6 yrs.
Nonnie, I'll leave as soon as you tell me what color your cooktop is... :) Must shop! Need range!
Is polio oral?
What was the nice one on the sugar cube?
polio used to be on a sugar lump, now its jabbed
Oh, black, ank.
Since 1997, in US, polio is a shot.
Wow, I didn'
p
didn't realize they had changed the polio
::: whispers thanks to Nonnie :::
Ank, have fun shopping. I hope you find what you like.
I still remember that sugar cube! Hi, Knight.
Oral = live virus but shot = inactivated virus = safer.
I haven't had any polio booster... now it's been about 55 years since I was innoculated... do Ineed one?
ah..I see.
Nope---last booster is at age 4-6 yrs, Scarlet.
Thanks, Nonnie -- I want gas and can't have it, but I'm sure well find something decent. Bye, all, hugs hugs no mumps! :)
Than I'm good. Thank you, Scrabbler.
::: waddles to the door ::: :::: POOF!!!! :::::
We used to have to line up with the "guns" and then after they stuck up they'd pop a sugar cube in our mother...I thought it was a reward or something.
bye dearest!
So good to see you, Ankh! Shop well!! {{hugs}}
They popped sugar cubes in your mothers?! :O
ahahaha...our mouth...not our mother!
I remember those days--lining up in the elementary auditorium.
This is getting very, very odd....
::: blows kisses from afar! :::
And we would be scared, hope to not cry, and feel bad for the kids that did cry.
bye bye ank!
guns, and then a stick-up, and then give the mothers sugar...
I cried once and got the sad face stamped on my hand...as if the shot wasn't bad enough.
Oh, Nonnie... the humanity.... *sob*
That is just wrong, Nonnie.
Oh, Nonnie, how dreadful! =) There, a happy face to make up for the sad one.
I'm so glad they don't do that to kids anymore.
Vi, you ARE saving the world... one happy face at a time...
Thank you, vi! :o)
I got shots individually in the library, I was afraid of needles so they tried to hold me still one time so it scared the poo out of me. Much more traumatising than a needle!!
the sugar cubes were the *worst*. they tasted foul
I will get the old medical records, find the lists they undoubtedly kept of all the children who got the sad face... Then I will go visit each of them in turn and stamp their hands with a smiley face.
awww, {{{uni}}}
I must go scrub the kitchen floor while I still have a hubby-free few hours... I am babysitting for my grandkittie, and she is a bit put-out that I gave her a bath... all is forgiven now, though!
LOL, Vi... I shall be your Sancho Panza...
Yippee, Vicuna! End the prolonged psychological trauma.
Vi! My hero!
I cried at the dentist once and was told that if I didn't stop crying, he'd send my mother away. Even at the time I remember thinking, "Stupid, how on earth is THAT supposed to stop me from crying?"
Tilting at trauma... the updated, 2008 version of Woman of LaMancha... **trumpets** **Robert Goulet**
That is awful, Vi. People just don't think, do they?
Horrible, Vi... you never forget things like that...
Kind of funny in retrospect, though, I have to say.
Carpe Diem... *poof*
My mum used to take me into the drs with her when she had jabs. It was meant to show me that they weren't traumatic. Every time I ended up running to the back of the office screaming
And I was rational enough to reserve my hatred for that particular dentist, and not feel traumatized about dentists in general! lol
Bye, Scarlet! Have fun(?) scrubbing floors!
ok I must *poof*. see you all tomorrow!
Bye, Ata!
tun e
I must get on the road and head back home. Take care all and hope to see you later.
Bye, Nonnie. Good luck on your mission.
Here is a funny story. I was at the dentist--scared and afraid of pain. So the dentist gave me nitrous oxide gas and I got sleepy and dopeyand did fine thru the procedure. At the end of the visit he told me that he gave me regular air--no nitrous oxide. He tricked me and I succumbed to the placebo effect!
I try as often as possible to torture children when they are in the office. NOT.
That's so amazing, Scrabbler!
But I wa so mad at him for tricking me.
I have to go see my last patient---BBS.
oh, bye, Scrabbler!

Hi, Joanne. Hey, you wouldn't happen to have an opinion on smoothtop electric ranges, would you? Or you, Seain?
me 6/24??
mother in law has one
i believe in halogen smooth tops, myself
good and bad to them
they cool down quicker, and are almost as adjustable as gas
and it's easy to slide off the burner so as not to burn
I haven't seen anything like that -- halogen? We can't afford gas, has to be electric. Joanne, does she whine about how hard it is to clean, or is she in love?

Medieval cloth merchant, me****
Blimey, these RE words are annoying.
me6 is als the southermost county in WV, and home to Bluefield.

one went in for pe6, and then there was one LOL
ty stid
oh dear poor little mite
ta7 anyone?
oh gee, I am sorry. is he drinking enough? I know one of my kids often wouldn't drink enough when sick and dehydration makes fevers worse

battle royale here tonight. i swear, if daniel keeps up the screaming, i'm going to scream!
po 7: how you hold yourself. don't slump, it's bad for your po7
DO feather! let him hear how he sounds! it worked with mine...
How is Cracker acting? Fever is just a sign of infection---a defense--and usually lasts 3-5 days or so.
Scream and have a tanty and see if he likes it
DANIEL, STOP THAT SCREAMING RIGHT NOW!
okay, down to 7! :-D
ty stid -- don't know why I'm having so much trouble seeing these --- time for a break, maybe

five...
I really want to finish soon and go lie down again
he's in bed quietly now, but wowza, it was a rough night. i was trying a few different techniques, hoping they'd work, but nope. i just need to stick with what i've been doing, and be patient.
You cannot reason with an upset kid.
he was not peeing yesterday - that worked itself out last night. some vomiting, but i think that is from the coughing. he's been very cranky and now is sleepy and lethargic, like last night
Feather my friend usually goes up to his little one and tell her when your done get back to me and leaves the room
i've seriously considered pulling out some winter earmuffs as a visual that screaming doesn't work with me.
exactly scrabs.
go go go!
patience is so hard sometimes feather, with toddlers esp. -- the muffs might work
foreworks, thanks to Wile E Coyote
hello all...:)
EN 5? *begging position assumed*

Tea how old is he?
hey doxy! to romp in the meadow, like a colt on a spring day
thanks stid
are YOU getting enough fluids tea?
let's ca6 in the fields!

THanks dc
not anymore, feather - he's 2.5 so i thought we were past this! yes, stid, water by the gallons!
(not sure that sounded right...)
yep, i say to him "hey, you're screaming" and most of the time he says "oh!" like he didn't realize. and he'll stop for a while, till he forgets again. like i said, calm and patience, which are in short supply lately!
Now Mama Scrabbler is on the phone.
Which four re's Stid

any clues on pu 8,50 or pu 5,14
When I lived in Ontario, I had people in BC shipping me the stuff, smuggling it in their suitcases when they came for visits... that sort of thing
well, Im outta here with 122 words, a big feat for me! Thanks to all for the clues/help:)
goog to hear it, min. i'm fine.
pu8/50 is the state of pu4/6.
lori, both are based on the preceding pu4/6 (uncontaminated)
pu5/14 is more pu4.
Way to go christy!
I love Purdy's and the hedgehogs are awesome
we have Purdy's here in Alberta too
hey, peeps :)
**wondering how to ship Jac a box of hedgehogs**

I NEVER check my stats.I would get too disappointed
But thanks for the thought! x
how are you, min?
Hello tygerbryght! How are you? Welcome to the grid
** reconsidering shipping to jac....maybe will have to wait until she comes for a visit**
I'm doing well thanks! I am a little sore,but I'm better
tired ... son & I made a big dish of macaroni & cheese. the hard work is making the white sauce
glad to hear it. you've been missed, you know :)
re 5/10
I always make Kraft macaroni & cheese; my favorite!
re5/10: spanish word for rope
i like the shells and cheese myself
Well I've missed all you guys to! Glad to be back here!
If I check the rankings, which I do about every 2 weeks, I still see that I am 15th of 16th in the first column. That hasn't changed over about 3 years, despite me finishing the grid almost all of the time. In fact, if I've been away for 2 weeks' holiday and not played, my ranking on that list has sometimes gone up!
macaroni and cheese whiz is my favourite
mine is a "scratch" recipe - make white sauce (butter, flour, milk), add to pasta (I use rotini - the kind with veggies added), and an incredible amount of cheese
That's 15th or 16th, not 'of'.
ewwwwwwww autumn
I do make it from scratch, usually using swiss and jack cheese. Sometimes I even make my own pasta but not very often.
I've been marching up the center column. Once I've gotten up above a certain point, I won't try quite so hard to do the grids everyday. It's gotten tiring
Making a Rouc sauce (the white sauce base for cheese sauce) is a breeze as long as no one 'phones you whilst you're doing it.
Roux.
I use a bunch of Velveeta, plus Monterrey Jack & Colby
(mentions to nut that my daughter eats it with ketchup)
David & I took turns stirring :)
I have an idea! Since so many people like macaroni & cheese(different kinds)we should have macaroni and cheese brands as the icon theme. That is a new one!
on the white sauce, that is
* blech *
LOL, tyger, I read that as 'slurring'.
LOLOL, jac
i'm not gonna make it
I do macaroni cheese with mature English Cheddar.
**runs away to knit with every intention of coming back for the flip....thinks - hmmm wonder if I have any cheese whiz in the fridge....**
I sent Babbler a list of theme ideas about a week ago, but I've no idea if she got them.
that's a bit strong for me, jac. I lurves me cheese, tons of it, but am not overfond of sharp cheese of any description
*Sends cat to tangle autum's wool.*

That's the best I've ever done (welll...this is only my first week playing)...28! I would have done better, but my Chihuahua was whining to go out and then whined to NOT go out in the snow. (sigh)
I say 171 words for next grid. That's what I have now
Mind you, it's a Sunday her in UK, usually a tiny grid for that. 78 words would be horrible!

weegee, are you a sado/masochist? Over 300?
welcome kizah!
kizah, chihuahua can get lost in just a little snow, I don't blame him/her
