when we moved back to Ontario in 1966, we moved into my grandmother's house. It was brick with stone foundation, so pretty solid. But when we were renovating, there were so many layers of wallpaper on, it felt like cardboard coming off

wow, dc! I met one grandmother just once when I was 8 -- saw my dying grandfather once then too -- the other ones died before I was born. All overseas people and travellers.
Jilli, I just met one of my grandmothers too, she lived far away but came to visit a couple times....such a shame not to get to know them all.

the garage said the battery had died. So they replaced it and now it seems to work. So far. Am almost afraid to trust it, lol. They were very fair about it, no charge for the battery.
Well, hopefully that will have sorted out the problem.
I really hope so. It was the 7th time in 3 months we had car trouble. And I depend on the car, I can't walk for more than 2 or 3 minutes.

I never used to think I was claustrophobic, until the first time I tried to have an MRI. they had to take me out of the machine
I fall asleep in MRIs but you have to knock me out to see a dentist
I haven't had an MRI but have had a CT scan -- no prob
I had a cat scan last week and that wasn't a problem.
I put my claustrophobia down to having been born with my umblicial cord wrapped twice around my neck. I guess my first experience of 'life' was of not being able to breathe.:(

Having said that, my son, who 'never washes dishes', felt compelled to do so for a whole evening when staying with his g/f in Holland for 3 weeks. She 'never does the dishes' either, and he got so fed up of always having to wash something before he could use it, either because it was piled up and dirty or 'supposedly' washed but not to 'our' standards.
