Heya seain! You're up late. You're not still sick are you??
dc, I was given a recipe for cough loosening by a pharmacist today (a kiwi, I think, from her accent) -- I'm still coughing after a month. Take one onion and slice it into rings. Cover it with runny honey and let it sit for about 5 hours until the honey is watery. Then take a tablespoon of the liquid four or five times a day as long as necessary. She said it's better than any of the stuff sold in the drugstore -- doesn't aste weird and doesn't leave you breathing onion on people. We'll see!
gowads jilli. That sounds awful. I hope she was right about the taste.
wow hope it works jili
Morning all - jilli I have heard of that recipe but using sugar - honey sounds like a better option - let us know if it works
She said it's an ayurevedic (sp?) medicine.
thx, jilli, i'll give it a go; i have tons of honey, and ample quantities of onion
sounds something like my grandmother use to make jilli
Morning ursh
Speaking for all B-Movie lovers everywhere, "Mothra" is TOO a word
and the honey isa good preservative for the onion
alas, a proper noun; i tried mothra too
I agree sam. It really should be. Just like vader
And Mithras, for that matter, but only for the real geeks among us :)
I see onion is a phantom here, lol!
2x to7

phantom engine
It's because you're too old, moonwoof
Trix are for kids
no??? Geez. This grid is a rennie Nightmare!
Too old?? LMAO You have NO idea how cool that is to see... most people say I need to grow up =D
hee hee
Being too old is a state of body. Needing to grow up is a state of mind.
Old age is all in your mind.
and your body...
But just those 2 places. That's it.
yea and youth is wasted on the young....
did somebody call the phantom anthrax?
. . . no, but now I can't see anything else
looking for your secret, dc :)
my phantom is tattoo
i just got the om8
is their an om7?

yw dc
i'm feeling a good bit better, bit of lingery cough, as expected. went to school tonight, have test on Thursday ,for which i must learn to count ot 20, and at least 10 each of nouns and adjectives weee!
wow. this grid is so not easy on my tired brain
no skulls, herin? LOL -- nice vase
phantom word: earth
I haven't meant to be rude and run off but we need to house hunt and I need to clean. 20 trash bags and counting
what language, dc?
DC i am glad that you are getting better.
goodness
jes you are right about that not easy
phantom: extra, extras
herin -- no prob -- happy hunting!
yes, we all know how moving goes. how goes the househunting?
are you running off now, or was that earlier>
herin, how is the housing market your way?
Jess I have been meaning to ask you the black kitty in your LJ is he one of your Fur rescues?
read all about it, imprint ;)
Moon random runnning off times
ta 7, if no one has called it yet
Mothra -- ha ha ha
SNags it is ok but the estate agents can be a bit dense
mothra rules!
joey its been called but ty
yes, one that was brought to me to be put down, but i refused
ga 7
housing prices up or down?
3 places we wanted went so we are relooking
So Jess is the black kitty your baby now? Cause hes cute.
still falling here :D which for me is good, as i want to buy this year
no, i found him a home with some other clients
what are you looking for dc?
i already had 5 of my own, didn't need more!
Snags where in the world are you? Most of the places we are looking at are about $300 - $350 per week for a 2 -3 bedroom home/unit what ever
I am in the US.......... housing for sale is falling apart.....
ne7
single family idealy, duplex maybe. i'm hoping, really, for a nice bungalow in the Alcova Hegihts neighborhood of ARlington, VA
a lot cheaper than Sydney herin
Jess can you put the people down for that stupid request? Also HI Jill and Volley and Flosey and DC and MLF and Edra and Samantha. Sorry if i miss anyone
in my area there is an abundance of apts for rent and yet they keep putting them up

Yah Jill
evenin, ruru!
Hi Andree
yw dc
not legally
heya dc.. how ya doing?
better now that the worst of the flu is past, ruru; going to work and school this week.
not legally, jes?
how are you, ruru?
I seem to have drunk close to 2 litres of coffee today
euthanatize humans--i can't do so legally
pity, that, jes. we treat our pets so much better at end of life. Sigh. I'm a big supporter of right to die.
ew.. I have managed to avoid the flu.. lots of friends going down for the count though
hi andree, ruru, snags, sam, jes, erda and everyone I've missed
strain B was not in this year's vaccine, it's the one i got. :)
hola jilli
I rarely get vaccinated.
i've never had a flu vaccine
i didn't this year, samantha, so it's just a coincidence i got teh strain not in the vaccine
DC we were talking about the idiot person that wanted to destroy a pet cause it was black and Jess didn't but i also agree with that
I had them when I was younger, like--a child--but now I feel guilty. I am not in a vulnerable group, I don't see a reason to do it
oh, heavens, yes, lady, i do agree, missed that bit of the thread.
my mom's vet boards pets that are healthy and places them with his other customers.
Yep. My damn head hurts cause i smacked it on the stairs
i never get a vaccine, supposed to at my age but don't want to anytime soon
he's kept mom in cats for many years now :)
ouch lady, hopefully not concussed.
phantom motion
I'm fighting with myself about letting my dear old cat go to sleep at nearly 19 -- but she's still eating and purring but sometimes falling over, and losing weight -- it's hard...
No just hurt and annoying and snotty due to dust which i have to keep cleaning in a minute after coffee
yes, it is jilli. *hug*
why can't your mom keep her cat, dc?
Jill that is really heard
Does she seem to be in any pain, jill?
she can jess, she gets cats from her vet that he won't euthanize because they're healthy.
the problem with just keeping animals and trying to find them homes is that we don't have the space or money in the clinic to do that, and there are far more critters than good homes
i see
I think her back leg bothers her, sam
VERY true, jes.
Aaaahhhhh. We have a dog with arthritis in her back legs, but she's two and otherwise healthy and happy.
mi 8
it was sad in early october of 2001, my sister and i visitid the pound. there were 3 cats and 2 dods with signs that said 'my owner died at the pentagon' :(
TGhanks
I guess the question, jill, is what do you think she would say if you could ask her?
sometimes she has a normal purr -- sometimes it's a really strange rattly sound
lady--same cat as here: http://draggonlaady.livejournal.com/77 536.html
oddly, seeing those touched me more than watching the smoke plume from my porch.
and here: http://draggonlaady.livejournal.com/78 674.html
sam, that's what I'm trying to figure out. So far she still seems fairly interested in life although there's so much she can't do any more.
go with your gut, jilli, you grok your cat, i know you do.
Jess the kitty is so cute.
:), dc
phantom mitosis
jes--I like your LJ. You've been friended.
yeah. it's always sad when someone dies and doesn't have a place for the pets to go... though honestly, if something happened to me, only about half my critters have a place arranged
did everyone get the peculiar so7?
welcome, samantha :)
not I
i did jilli ,and a to and mo that are similar.
yes, dc, I saw mitosis too :(
jill the biggest so word i have is a 6
i have an so6...
jes, there are those of us who seek out such pets.
There's no need to make it reciprocal--I rant a lot, talk about politics a lot, and am not a lot of fun to read unless you're interested in the same things I am
good heavens, hadn't thought of the mo7!
jill i cant find the mo 7
oh, new US Politics blog some of you might find of interest: http://www.politicallypurple.com
with you there, jilli, quite an odd word.
Elsh is adopting a rescue ferret for a friend for her other ferret

sa 7
yeah, i try to change things, names and even breeds of the dog, that sort of thing.
That is a good thing. I know my Youth Services teachers used to mash up clients to make case studies
small-town gossip, jes. i hit the Muskingum County, OH line, and that county, and most of Licking County, know where i am, where i'm going, etc w/in minutes :)
phantom: attrition
that works, lady, and is appropriate.
It did it was helpfull
"to friend" is a new verb?
sa 7?
voley is the sa 7 similar to the other 7 letter words/
hmmmmmmmmm
it is for people who participate in this particular social networking site
jilli, to suscribe to a journal in LiveJournal, one friends it, so yes.
heh. yeah, there're fewer than 3000 people in this town
yeah rurur i am trying to find that one

oh, lol, thanks, dc!
hmm. apparently, there are quite a few people who've friended me that i don't recognize... if any of them are one of you, speak up so i know you :)
I Googled someone this morning, and then Zabad and Pipld the same person
i just got it ty jill
pipid? In Frenglish that would be piddled on, lol
don't think i did, but i'm dcseain :)
Heh. Not pipid but pipld. That second one is an ell
It's hard to tell an l from an i on my monitor

I promised my self that if i can't go to the gym to clean im not arseing about
congrats dart
West out by April the 18th
well done dart!
you'll be way ahead of the game then herin
how long have you lived where you are?
Upstairs is done, under the stairs is 90 % done with one tube needing sorting. Then the back room, storage room (my clothes are in there to) then the garage. I reckon there is about 4 weeks of cleaning to do if i want to throw out stuff im not traveling with
YAH DArt
well you have my admiration for doing all this
OK Long story short. I have moved about 6 times between the ages of 21 - 24 then in my own place for 5 years and then here. Most of the time i have not cleaned and tossed but packed and goed. I lived on couches on weekends for 3 months so i never really unpacked and looked at what i had as i was afraid it would be gone.
West so far i have tossed about 15 bags of crap with 5 bags for his lordship to sort.
and this time you're going to do it differently
Yes as i am moving with someone that isn't an arse hat
we've been in this house since June '06 and my sitting room is still in chaos
and don't even mention the garage and the basement
night all got to run...cya tomorrow a bit later th4,5 the flip
gn dart tc
West heres a hint from Peter Walsh who is awesome (thanks Asgreen your B.I.L rocks) throw out or sort and toss three bags a day
I saw him on Oprah
I've been getting rid of so much and there's still so much
we moved from a huge house to a smaller house that had everything left in it
West you have to keep going till its gone. I have so much sh?? it is not funny. Storage is so important you guys in the states are lucky to have so many storage places
there were 2 old maid school teachers who lived here for 50+ years and they didn't throw anything away
storage is good we had a full attic and now it's all in this basement
OH Dear frododamnit. Do you know where to start?
been doing it but there's still so much..we've given a lot of it to charityand the kids
trouble is there's some really nice things
and we're getting the kitchen done over so I have to go through all of that
West did you see the lady on Oprah that was a secret hoarder? 10 000 Squares of crap in a 32 square house.
I don't really need 10 muffin pans lol
the one who cried over the spoons?
Ok West if there is some really beautiful peices. sort out what you can sell then sell it, keep it divide it amongst familys and friends
I don't know she had so much stuff that her hubby was the paper horder
that's a really good idea I could start an ebay account
What sort of stuff?
furniture, fine china and crystal, figurines, lamps, mink coats, 2 pianos
you name it they had it
Ok Eby is not the way to go
Let me think
lots of text books and novels and every sort of reference book
Pianos. Are they yours or inherited?
I'm thinking about consignment shops
they were both here one is an upright in the basement
Ok mm
I could get it tuned and play while I do laundry
but it's buried under boxes and boxes
one good thing I was cleaning out some drawers full of tablecloths and napkins and found $ 4000.00
There is something i was thinking off
then there is every kind of kitchen appliance most don't look like they've ever been used probably gifts
shoot brain fried give me a sec please don't leave
you said ebay wasn't the way to go
http://www.justgive.org/html/ways/ways 7.html look at this
Ebay will give you money but you need to look at options.
For instance Look at the back of a china dish it may have say Wedgewood on it and a discription and year. Google that and you may find antique stores prices
I just looked that's a great site thanks
I have no idea what you got but start with just one pile a day and you'll get there Google helps lets to.
Lots
there's wedgewood and royal doulton and waterford
OH pretty. Start looking online at antique stores some times one piece may sell for $100 each gosh knows for whole collection
there was a beautiful breakfront in the basement that they used to store old vases and half sets of dishes
we brought it upstairs
My friends aunt died and they found a piece of china that was $100 for one peice she had the whole set
nice
not that her aunt died of course
hey all.
hi bf
OH and have you thought of donating the PIanos to a school for the music?
herin I really need you to come here and get me organized
Books are a pain in the arse to valuate. You can go through each one and find out its print run (first ed and so on)
I want to keep one we gave ours to our realtor's daughter who is a music major
West fly me there and i will help
HI BF
See West thats what i mean. Pass it on.
you are just a little far away
Sorry i can only give you net advise.
we got rid of so much of our things before we moved in
that's gold in itself herin thanks so much
hows the grid?
we have a Salvation Army store here but they are so fussy
had a leather wing back chair with a tear in the arm and they wouldn't take it
the grid is doable
I found a book by Olive Schreiner Women and Labour published in 1911 I found out it was 2nd ed paid $5 for it and as a 1st ed it would have sold for $200
I might look at the list and see if I can get any more words stuck at 60 to go
Westford. Can you donate to charities like homeless shelters and the such.
I think I must have given away most books like that but I did hold on to Anne of Green Gables
OH yes classic books and the such are important
Hi BFS how are you and pardon my rabbiting on
we used to live near Boston and they had a good set up Coalition for the Homeless
they picked it up and everything I'm sure there must be something like that around here
another thing we found were their Christening gowns
and dolls and doll house furniture..every day is like a treasure hunt
OH West are the ladies stil alive? or have family? that kind of thing needs to be cleaned and preserved with great care and wrapped in acid free paper
no unfortunately they're both gone and the relatives showed up to get their share of the sale of the house but otherwise don't want anything
the reason everything was left is they stipulated in their wills that nothing was to be removed from the house
I think they were a little p'o'd that no one came to see them
one funny thing there are 3 typewriters here and no one will take them
http://tinyurl.com/ytnbv8 THis is Elora Doll place they may be able to help you
looking it up now
http://www.antiquing.com/shopping/ ANtique online shopping
good one I'll be busy
Selling Your Antiques online: http://tinyurl.com/yw6eyh
these are great thanks so much
Um just google
love that google
My google is Australia so its a bit tricky
I'm bookmarking all the sites you've given me
Gantastic
Fantastic
that's what I thought you meant lol
Blame the grid
or else it was an Aussie saying
by the way, what's an arse hat?
Arse Hat : Person that has their head so far up their butt that they wear it for a hat
lol I like that
I know a few
I blame the net for that one. I found out about that from net friends
I have some really dear net friends
I found a $200 check under the stairs todayu
that's your pay for being so good
No thats the rego
what's rego?
Registration for the car
Sorry
ah
that you meant to mail?
I don't know how it works its for the car and its the b.fs check not mine.
well you do deserve some kind of reward for all your hard work
I did find $10 upstairs that we bought lunch with (rolls at the bakery $6)
well I hope you find more
West the reward is less shite to move. Less stuff to clear
that's just what I was thinking
I would give a toe to find my necklaces
starting off in the new place with a clean slate
they'll turn up
sounds like you're being thorough
oh I forgot to mention all the jewelry too
I am being thorough and im really stressed about my necklaces they are my charms
the ladies left a gold charm bracelet that had a value of $425 in 1972
and guess what, I can't find it
I put it away safely
morning all!!
hi pink
hello west...long time no see!!

so sorry about your friend too
West he was sick its ok. I miss him but i would rather him be some where happy than not. This is creepy thing number four tied in with him
my best friend from childhood died suddenly in 2004 and I miss her everyday
West this is what makes you realise that every day is important
absolutely
I think the cat moved it. OH too cute this arvo the kitty found a cotton tip and ran into the room with it sticking out of her mouth
lol

Thanks sorry im a little dust inhaled at the moment and missing my necklaces (I swear the person they are connected to has moved them
you may need a ge5 14; my rings went missing several years ago - husb. has habit of moving things w/o realizing; bet they'll eventually surface in some old box hidden in his junkyard [basement]
lost jewelry usually finds its way back.
I would say i haven't been leaving enough lighters out for the Garden gnomes to scare of the fae.

Fatastic
mm
ooh, the 3 kittens fav word is there
is anyone here?
Dan i don't get it
i am, whats the clue for the ha 6
the 3 little kittens have lost their ******s ...
OH dear ta
gerund form scots to have
ha 6 is scots wa ha* plus present participle or gerund ending
can anyone help with the mi8?
Why is it everyone keeps expecting me to be expeting?
mi7 + ing circumstances [used in court]
scots wa ha? what??
Ha vowel Choirs do this without the snake
ha* 3 letter form of scots "to have"; add gerund ending
mi 8 --- add to sue someone is to li****** (last part is what needs to stay closed so the cows don't get out)
just found a musical mo5... lovely
is there an MI 7?
Hi Babble
yes... mo7 another gerund or present participle ending, builds on the mo4/5 just before it
I have the MO but the MI?
no; dropped the e for the ending clue I gave; sorry for confusion
... and there might be a spooky MI7 keeping tabs on MI5 and MI6 (joke)
no mi 7
Ok i had that coming
Thanks babble
sorry yes no mi7s... i think it might be time to retire

yes i think so too
ugh..snow... we have a blizzard still..it is localized lake effect..buses all cancelled
I think I am seeing the end of this miserable winter. Dogs coat is shedding like crazy, and it is supposed to be 70 this weekend...
hi Carlee, we have had about 10 inches here since yesterday am and wind is picking up to make it seem worse
oh red that sounds so nice..... the 70 degree weather
yes, it does, doesn't it. right now I am freezing.
no idea how much we have had but this little blast..if u go 15miles north east of me ( along lakeshore) or 10 miles south..NOTHING
its not showing up on radar even....
radar says I have had and am getting nothing....but u can't see across street
lake effect snow can be so strange!
I have a feeling I and the grid are not getting along. 29 words and I am stuck
i'm at 6 words
I used to Live in Rochester, we would drive out to the larke and I was amazed to see the water frozen into little waves. No More of those winters for me though.

Here, Lori, let's put some fresh snow on those bruises
***giggle**** good idea scrabs

* that's her punky east coast lipstick....matches her hair....*
I haven't had coffee yet, so the brain is still fuzzy.
Silly me, Carlee, I forgot that Lori is a Nova Scotian.
its the lack of caffeine scrabs
Uh oh, I just noticed an ING ending on the grid--that is an important clue.
I found my first gerund, yippee!
Hi Scrabbler.
hello everyone! I fell flat on my face yesterday coming home from the dentist and I am not, I repeat, not a pretty sight
HI Annie, I hope you are atleast feeling ok?
morning Annie, sorry for your fall!
{{{HUGS}}} for annie... come sit in my snow fort annie....
Good Morning
hello AnnieB!!
I look like I went 6 rounds with Rocky
* lobbing snowball at merk*
Oooh Nooo Annie. I hopeit looks like you won.
oh noooo! so sorry, Annie!!
*going to sit in carlee tent with my blanket wrapped around me*
Is there any use of the 'tion' or am I wasting my time looking?
Oh, poor Annie!
* meant snow fort*
G'd morning red, une, Annie. I was busy finding words. I now have 4 in total. ***cough***
I have tea annie...
merk, i've got 100 words so far and none use the "tion"
go lori.... Ihave, uh only 44...
Merk--I just started.
hey, lori :-)
scrabbler, does a swollen nose mean a broken nose?
Merk, I havent used that yet
** snoball ambush on Une*...100 words..WHERE?!?!?!?!
There ain't even a hundred words in this grid Une. C'mon now.....
RTH---nephew Peter (20) got admitted to our local rural hospital with a periorbital + facial cellulitis from an infected sebaceous cyst last night, and the ED nurse was telling Peter to become a traveling nurse. I thought of you!
oh the words are there carlee, honest. I have 123 so far
What a waste of that ending ... I have not been here long and have 53 words, but I hit the wall.
Hope Peter is OK.
i have 25
Annie--how does your nasal bridge feel? Did the bones take a hit, or more just the schnoz part.
thanks for the thought!!!
***launches monster snowball at Nono***
Yes, RTH--I told the nurse that you are in NM and going to Fla next.
LOL, what did she say?
carlee you were busy building your snow fort. now that you are safely hidden you will be able to find the words
*rolling catapult out from garage, loading it with snow boulder, aiming it NNE towards Nova Scotia** INCOMING, Lori!
scrabbler, nasal bridge feels ok...from the middle of nose dow, it is red and swollen and Ihave a black eye
Is the snow fort at all warm? If so, I want to sit in it.
no wind in here
It was a male nurse, telling Peter what to do with college/career.
swooooosh........ just managed to duck that one Lori
scrabbler, I hope your nephew is okay very soon
Nursing is a great wy to make money, if youcan handle to wierdness, hours and all that.
Annie, check your nasal bones carefully as the swelling goes down--if your nose looks crooked or flatter----> X-ray.
I hope all's well for Peter Scrabbler. ***special orders rocket snowball launcher, to Nail Nono with***
thanks, scrabbs!
special orders take a longtime LoriP
crap they calling for 6 m ore inches
Peter needs 2-3 days of IV antibiotic treatment, then he can go home on oral treatment. We thought it was an abcess, but there was no pus, just that cheesy sebum inside. **GROSS**
Oh Carlee, I am sorry.
ohohhhh i'm in for it now......wait, am building my own snow fort must hurry tho as lori as aksed for special delivery
LOLOLOL, oh, er, I mean sorry to hear that carlee......
Sounds like he is going to dofine!
so..did anyone watch the debate?
I got plowed out yest and this AM--more for us through today too.
Didi you break even on plowing Scrabbler?
lol that was soooooo full of typos! cant type and build snow fort at same time
I am up to 17 plows--need 20 to break even for the seasonal cost.
Nope, Carlee, I was at the hospital.
i think you will make it...its still feb.
how ur nephew today..any word?
yes, carlee I saw the debate
you still have march to go Scrabbler
I am so not seeing very many words in this grid.
Hey, I got 8 words. Whoo hoo!
Its not a very nice grid.
but I am not in g very good mood, sooo.
My sister and I left the hospital at 9, she is sleeping down here for a few days, and she will visit him later this AM.
no fireworks last nite there...
Why, RTH?
wooooooo finally found a use for the x
No real reason, Its cold, I want this contract to end. I am waiting for aninterview and I don't like waiting...no license..
There's an X in the grid???
anyone have a clue for the gi 6/24?
Patience.....things will work out in time.
I think its mostly because I am cold.
gi --double cons. + not out ( saw clue earlier)
it is 56.9 degrees inthe house. farenheit.
BRB--checking e-mail.
thanks annie. I never heard of that word

**Lobbing snoball at peri**
hi peri
bonjour peri
have the om8, may I have a clue for the other 8
dont have it, peri
mi8 - the root of the word that means circumstances may excuse you.
thanks Haz, will look
And good morning all. peri, it ends in the garden entrance, if that helps.
hello Hazel!
hi haz..how are we today?
got it, thanks Haz
in 6 and mi 8 both end in the same word
Hello there - I'm fine, thanks.
** lobbing snoball at haz***
I'm so short I don't even need to duck.
thanks, Hazel....better watch out today, carlee is throwing snow boulders
But tinfoil hat being donned all the same.
( I just want to share the wealth of our blizzard with the world..i THOUGHT I was being GENEROUS ...sheehs....some people just are so hard to please)
mornin all, ge6 & 7 please?
I hate snow carlee, you can keep all of it
ge6 - add a double helping of a vowel to the mannerly man
ditto peri
I just found another new to me -ing
fine..i will go sit quietly in my snow fort...

You're welcome gramma, a new word for me.
nate
good afternoon all
not in the a-z dictionary either, grr
hi sprite
hi sprite, how is your hubby?
Good afternoon sprite.
gramma - it says it relates to Hindu.
sounds good to me haz ( :
again a little better, Annie, thanks for asking. The specialist called yesterday, she made an urgent appt for him for tomorrow at the rheumathologist. At least they take it seriously.
HI everyone...
wow, great word haz, i have a bunch of hindi friends and hadn't come across that.
hi lori ann
You always learn something on babble!
Hello lori ann.
G'd morning again Babblers. Neighbor dropped over for coffee. oddly enough, I still only have 17 words.....
hi Lori
Hello Lori.
just put on last load of washing! 'Hurrah' bottom of washing basket has been discovered!!
t
Hey, I just scored mi 8. I must be wakingh up now...
yay for jakes-mum! Another one bites the dust!
I always find pegs at the bottom of the laundry basket, together with an apron I can never be bothered putting away.
good for you Jakes! Laundry is on my list of to do's today.
i always find hundreds of single socks who have lost their partners
we have a special box for them, shooles, so they can reunite. It often helps.
The cure for single socks is to use a net bag and then reunite them when putting away.
aww cute
good plan
surprisingly i always find pegs in jakes bedroom and have no idea how they get there
obviously ladies with far superior laundry skills to my 20 year old sense of organisation
It comes with experience, shoeless. 25 years of laundry does that to you.
I let my family put their socks into the basket as a pair, upper seam of board over each other. I tear them apart when I put them into the machine, so I KNOW they went in together. And then I reunite them when I hang them up or fold them. The problem is with socks that go in by themselves... after my kids cleaned their rooms for instance.
Or, wear identical socks all the time.
I have this same problem sprite!! LOL socks always seem to be hiding under a bed.
now the question is do i get the ironing board out now or do I wait until the last load is washed and dry and do the lot . . .
no way my daughter will go for that, Haz. Nor my son. Vanity seems to rule at their ages.
How long is it since the first lot of washing was done? The longer you leave it the worse it is.
lol lori ann, they do. They are both sentient and adventurous, them socks :)
Who irons anymore jakes?? I save the iron for special occasions! LOL
I know, sprite, Husbands are much more cooperative, they can be happy with multiple packs of navy socks.
My grandmother would be ashamed of me!! I can remember her ironing my grandfathers boxer shorts!
I iron. I enjoy ironing. Organisation out of chaos.
I'm a bit strange I admit, I LOVE to iron lily's clothes, my sister laughs at me as I iron body suits and sleepsuits (I don't want her to be uncomfortable in wrinkly clothes in bed)
Guten Morgen, Babbler. I see my name in the grid, but not very helpful with verbs
exactly Haz. At the moment it has become impossible to tell hubby's socks apart from my son's, and my son's from mine or my daughter's... I told them to mark their socks if they care, and otherwise they will have to pull them out of the big pile :)
I'll send my ironing off to you Haz...LOL
Hello inge.
hi inge. you count for me, you do! Very valid person. Stoooooopid enable.
i'm getting lots of smiles at the minute, miss lily must know i'm talking about her
Jacula has already tried that, lori ann, when her ironing pile threatened to reach the ceiling. She sent me the photograph to prove that she wasn't joking!
ironing is my second least favourite chore, after washing up, its the cutlery, i cant bring myself to do the cutlery for some reason
Thats why I have a dishwasher shooless
But do force yourself, shoeless, otherwise you may find yourself friendless.
your dishwasher does ironing?
washing up? Do the glasses, then throw in the cutlery and wash the rest. After that, the cutlery is already as good as clean, only needs a quick brush.
ah, no room in the kitchen for a dishwasher
ANd I've just realised that it's shooless - I'll remember in future.
My least favourite chore is dusting, cannot abide dusting, so husband has to do it
chuckle
a cunning plan sprite
hey, I am great in avoiding work, grin.
i'm loving this, not only do i get to play babble, but i get all the fantastic trade secrets too
don't worry
the babble chat is usually as good as the puzzles itself... we rock ;)
ahhh shooless, get a husband orkid to do it! it's what they are for. I used to get husband to do it so he ripped out the entire kitchen to fit a dishwasher in lol
We don't charge either, unless it's REALLY valuable advice.
I'm with you on this sprite!! although I don't find to many words while I'm chatting.
i actually hate that it's misspelled, but i chose it as an email and logon name for things when i was 15 and at that point i thought it was...interesting?...and now i just havent changed
but Haz considers all her advice REALLY valuable, so be warned... and she is often right ;)
see i'm only 20, so kid is a way away for me, and husband, well, give me time
i was a late bloomer
yeap babble rocks..when the earthquake hit..we had the info before the bbc even
hi y'all *atalante mumbles through a sore mouth*
wow
no sense in rushing things, shooless. Just relax... and find easy ways to do recurring chores.
lily is now being introduced to babble she is staring at the screen
bbl
yup, but at least i'm not doing the regular 20 yr old thing and getting my mum to come and do it all
*hugs Ata* (but is careful how, not wanting to hurt her more) Was it bad, hun?
Oh, poor Atalante - but is the crown gleaming?
Hi, Ata, why sore mouth?
no! I've still got the temporary one *mutter mutter*
hi ata
hi there LILY.... here is your name. Just letters. Like all of babble. Just letters. *hug*
I am halfway and getting out the list, diving under
ow, crowns are evil
*throws inge an oxygen flask*
the permanent one was slightly not quite right *sigh* and my gums are owie. so he wouldn't put the permanent one on. next week
sprite i read her your message and got a big smile so i send it on to you :-)
ok, i should go and do some work. bye all and thanks for all the advice, i can see this becoming more addictive than the babble
What a shame! But you didn't punch the dentist, did you?
awwwwww jakes-mum, she is adorable!
oh, {{{atalante}}}
Bye shooless, we give plumbing advice around 11.
oh no! I love my dentist. He's gorgeous and looks kinda like george
bye shooless, have a good one and see you around!
bye shooless
Ah well, no need to worry about seeing him too often. I'd have a weekly toothache if he looked like George.
Phone....
I am always quite happy to stare up at him for an hour!
You keep your eyes open? I always keep them shut during treatment.
But then my dentist doesn't look like George.
not with george hanging over you, I bet
lol
oh yes, I have to watch whatever's going on. and we always have wonderfully morbid conversations. Like today, we were discussing the use of cadaver bones in facial reconstruction and where the cadaver bones come from
ewwwwwww romantic! (NOT)
From donated bodies I would guess?
apparently not!
Not bodysnatching? I thought that went out with Burke and Hare.
apparently from old burial grounds where they can't identify the bones. The bone fragments / sections are sterilised and stuff and then used
which I find utterly amazing! I suppose donated bodies have bone that's too fresh and organic
jeeeezzzzz with all the alternate spellings enable seems to love, why not mosaix. Tsk.
That's amazing, Atalante.
new kids on the block are reuniting???
good morning
isnt it!? amazing the conversations you have while someone has their fingers in your mouth
hi arwennn
Must put the kettle on for lunch. No, not wearing it, just switching it on. Back later!
bfn Haz
later, haz
help on the other 8, not the mi8
how many words today
157 total

i have changed my strategy, i now go for my vowels then constonants. thats vowels done
see you later, carlee
I admire you guys who have strategies. All I do is randomly finding words.
and you do that quite well, sprite
me too, sprite
well for the first 20-50 they just come to me but i like to make patterns, or sometimes i try and grey out a certain column
well, yeah, but so totally onorganised, lol
I start at the top and struggle my way down
*unorganised
Fireworks
congrats merk
thang really sholud be allowed
wtg Merk
Final clue ... there are way more -ing endings than what we first found.
I'm just happy my fav penguin is here
I agree, Ata
awwww Ata, that sounds so sweet. For a babblet.
I think I can still name all penguin species from when they were drilled into us at uni!
woot! That is remarkable, Ata!
not particularly useful though LOL
congrats, merk
yay merk!
ata, you can always use that at a cocktail party
nah, who cares about useful. Let's focus on fun.
here's another then - natrix is the scientific generic name for the grass snake
ty, see you tomorow ... poof
I know... I tried.
oh oh! while we're on the subject of fun facts...
the "levator labii superiorus aleque nasi" is one of the smallest muscles in the human body!
do tell, arwennn!
:D
let me think... a lifting muscle of the upper lip next to the nose?
haha yup
my dad taught me that one. he was an anatomy professor.
not bad, LOL. Some memory cells must still be present in this weary brain...
really? wow. thats very cool
Good morning!
ohhhh Uniquity, you are so beautiful today!
oh... that was yesterday. But cute vases :)
I'm no longer beautiful? **sniffle/whimper**
hi Uni! always beautiful!
ah, that is what I get for trying to give a compliment... put my foot in my mouth again! Uniquity... you are always beautiful. Very beautiful. I like your necklace even more than your vases!
Thank you Annie, that's much better for my confidence :)
what wait did I miss a pic of Uni?
and so off to the kitchen for a while. bbl
Well that is sounding suggestive, Spritey! Thank you for the praise nonetheless, I think it was very kind of you and your peeking out person
*hides red head beneath table, very much ashamed*
question, for anyone else, does Sprites icons background come out black in chat, but pale blue in profile? It's always confused me
it does for me too, Uniquity. I think it is because it is a .png format and not a /jpg.
can someone give me the starting letter for the other 8? I have om 8/55
mi8, ylleria
Alright, that makes some sense. Ata, I could put up the M+M I made of myself, online...does that count?
thanks, sprite
that'll do! seeing as I had to drag out my wedding pics! :P
How are you Sprite? I haven't been on at same time as you for a while
ok, I wanna see your pic too, Uniquity. I promise I will be honestly complimenting you.
I think we all need to make M+M people and use them as icons. It's fun
have been better, Uniquity, though also have been worse. Tough times... hubby has gout or rheumatism or something like that, won't go away, so lots of pressure on entire household for over 2 months now. But we are coping.
ah. seeing as Sprite wants a pic too, we're only going to settle for a real one now!
please Uniquity, a real one?
But...but...I finally got the M+M up
One minute..
well, that's good practice ;)
well, I love the M&M for starters! Great colour! Cute crown!
There. I pretty much only have face shots, but this is semi-nearly recent. My hair is all brown again now as I have let the dye grow out, but the glasses are the right ones :)
LOL. A little skewered though
see!? you *are* lovely!! and every other complement you've ever been given!
My eyes are *blue* in that pic, wow~! Sometimes they get like that, rather than grey.
grey eyes are cool. elves have grey eyes
Here, now I am blowing you kisses before I go back to the vases. This is me again, lol
owwww beautiful indeed! Hypnotic eyes. Very goodlooking lady!
Danke, Sprite and Ata. It's fun when you can choose the pics, ;)
it is!
it is!
grrrrr leaving out a very small particle should be called at10.
Who's your kitty Ata?
thats my old kitty. I got him when I was 8, and he died when I was 22. He was my *best* cat
he is so cute
he was my beaauuuuuuutiful boy
but a little monster
He looks very fun...orange cats always give me that impression. My *best* cat ((whispering now so the others don't hear) was my Katie, got her on my second birthday, she passed when I was 12. She owuld have lived longer, but my stepmother put her outside. She was a lifelong inside lap cat who couldn't take the outside world :(
He looks like Bobo who is hovering at my feet whining for treats
poor baby!
oh Uniquity, that is terrible. Am so sorry :(
Nutty used to follow me to the bus stop when i went to school, and he'd go back up there to pick me up and walk me home in the afternoons
Oh that's so sweet Ata! We had an outside kitty who was born in our barn (Bebe, I called him) who would follow me to the ends of the earth. Hated everyone else, but he was my boy.
is LoriP your real mother, Uniquity?
Yes, LoriP is my real mother :)
awwwww, cats like that are very special, uni
our cat used to do that too, Ata! So funny, and so sweet.
Most cats are special, but I adore when I find that cat who i am perfectly suited to. Happened three times so far, really. Another kitty of ours used to sleep with me and lick my armpits while I was trying to sleep, loL!
Hobbit does that! little monsters!
sounds like there is a good story in there, Uniquity. Lovely you are spending time at her place again. Tell her *hugs* from me...and have some yourself!
Very tricky to sleep with a cat tickling your armpits!
Nutty used to try and sleep on my head. I woke up many times nearly being suffocated by ginger fur
LOL! I don't think that happened to me...suffocation is a shame
hobbit's "best" trick is licking my eyelids to try and get me to open my eyes
eeeeks Ata... that would work for me. Immediately.
Hobbit sounds fantastically fun! I don't know if I could take the doggy breath though
it does with me too. And she knows it
she doesn't have dog breath *smug*
that really depends on what you feed them and how you take care of them
she doesn't really smell doggy either
I've never had a dog of my own, I am a cat person, really. Found the most beautiful dog in the world the other day though! Husky/golden lab mix with the BLUEST eyes. So well trained, for only two months old. It was an angel in a pup's body, I swear
I have known dogs that did not smell bad at all. But my mother's dog... you could smell it outside the house already, when you came to visit. And inside, it was terrible. But the dog was not to blame.
awwwwww! I'm totally a cat person. Hobbit is the first dog I've ever really have. well, we had another cocker, but he died v young and I never really knew him. But Hobbit is *mine*
true, sprite, we brush our dogs' teeth every day; no doggy breath. <lurker>
I am another cat person. But am considering getting a dog for the kids.
My stepma had a collie that they named Lassie (unfortunately)...I was her favorite human. We used to pal around like nothing else, she could eat peanuts from between my teeth!
yay inge2! you will keep him/her healthy for much longer that way.
ick, I hate that, sprite. Doggy smell can be so intense
morning, all. Your icons are a lovely mix of desert brown and sea green. (Or maybe I just need to refresh the browser
it was terrible, Ata. But that is what you get when you don't feed them good stuff, don't keep them clean and let them jump on the couch all wet after walking them in the rain.
lol inge, same here. I love the combination too much to refresh.
hmmmmm welll hobbit always manages to jump on things when wet LOL. but somehow she just never smells doggy
but you do get her dry, don't you? You don't let her dry out on your couch, until both are soggy?
It is definitely about the care you take with them..i feel like size affects it too, but i have had only a little experience
russian ruler alert
some dogs just naturally exude more, I found, with the same measures of cleanliness.
I usually try and get her at least *damp* rather than *wet*
russian ruler?
exactly. It is all about the effort you are willing to put into your dog.
What kind of dog do you have Inge2?
the old russian 'king', inge
I have two dachshunds now. They're never smelly. But I had a basset/shepherd (?) /retriever mix who just exuded dogginess whenever she got excited. She was a wonderful dog...loved her.
oh, tx sprite ....I had that, but I was thinking the OTHER meaning of ruler and was wondering whether there was a new babblet to learn! :-)
hehehe, happiness just never smells bad
Sounds wonderful, despite the smell, Inge! I like retriever/lab mutt mixes. I am not a fan or pure at all, find the inteligence to have gone too low quite often, :(
lol inge, I keep missing this one, so I thought I'd mention it. Probably more for my sake, grin.
I love retrievers too. But they shed like the dickens, and do tend to smell a bit more.
Hello Inge, sprite, Uni. Have any of you got a clue to the ti6/27 please?
yikes. I'm late for work. Nice chatting. :-)
Hydra, when I'm late for work, I've messed up my sense of ti****
Doh! Why didn't I see that? I shall smack myself in the face with a wet haddock.
hi hydra. Missed that one too, thanks inge
*closes hobbit's ears* Uni didn't mean you, darling
mornin babblers!
bye inge, have a good day!
hi EvaN
Well, Ata, you say that English spaniels are not as...altered...as American, so I figure she must be safe :)
Hi Eva, Hydra!
Need help with last three words please. What is ge6/24 ? Next one a plural?
Hi all. One good thing came out of all the snow I got last night. My classes got postponed till 11 am meaning I don't have the class I don't like at all.
there, hobbit. see, you're safe darling girl *grins*
Oh, capng, I know how good that it! My classes never get cancelled though, unfortunately. Thank God for reading week!
hows everyone today?
yay Capng
inge: a british well-mannered guy + double vowel. And yes, the next is plural.
We're getting sooo much snow lately it's crazy.
having fun with the grid, EvaN, some good relaxation in stressing times.

I got it. Thanks
yw
gmmm... "thang" should be a word. You know, like "Inge thinks she's Miss Thang"
or wait.. does that make it a proper noun?
either way it should be valid. We all tried it, lol
how about "my love don't cost a thang"?
Well, it's one ofthose enable snafus...
did we clue the ge 7 or 6? i am stumped.
sprite ge: carrier of characteristics you inherit from your ancestors + also. Plural for the 7.
Clues for the 8s plz
sprite really means the first 3 letters of the carrier of characteristics + also ;)

Angela, thats so much! I am glad it is only bone chillingly cold here.

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/ is a very good info page on world wide earth quakes. you can click on the individual "event" and then "maps" and see reports from those who felt it.
(hi, btw)
Really? I'm down towards Brattleboro (in NH though) and we have about 16-18 inches with 1 more on the way they said.
hiya harp

no more shakes and she's been eating a bunch of tuna
I don't know whether to apologise for using a British term or feel glad that you've learned a new word - we used colliery to refer to mi4/5s.
Haz, I love it. Such a simple yet unfamiliar word
Then I'm glad I've introduced you!
at6 adds a canvas dwelling.
I've only heard it as a last name. Now I think duh, Colliers more than likely came from mining families
ty haz

No, they had canaries and ponies.

ty bfsog
Not a one. It was against the law of England.
in 6 24 anyone?
in6/24 - in plus a garden or field entrance.
welsh collies?
ty got it haz.
I've never heard of welsh collies. <-------- is a Welsh springer spaniel and she doesn't know of any collie relations.
any clues for the in6
ah well, we must believe spangle. any irish collies?
Welsh Border Collies, Haz!
No, just Irish colleens.
Aha! Jacula has entered the fray.
Did'nt see your clue Haz. ty
Welsh border collie - a small dog with a low centre of gravity. Sounds a bit like me.
perhaps the welsh collies were all secret ag*** collies
gotta run - bbl to get last 86 - bye everyone!
what do you mean a low centre of gravity?
have bad balance?
short
oh
No, it just means that you're low to the ground, I think. Don't ask me anything too technical, we tend to be more on a whimsical side here.
Ok 85 left,am not planning on finishing. WIll try to force my foul mooded self out ofthe bed...and to look for my ipod charger.
bye all
Bye red. Sleep with a hanger in your mouth and you'll waken with a smile.
P just came home to use computer for work project. I'd like to know how lying on the sofa with his eyes shut is 'working'. He says he's 'thinking'.
well, low-slung really.
Good afternoon all...has someone clued gi 6,24? THX for the help
good morning everyone
Oops, actually its still morning...been working this grid far too long.
gi6/24 - ends in what Brits use instead of an American can, and uses a double consonant.
Or gi6 - what harassed mothers say to small boys 'gi6 the house' when they've misbehaved outside.
Jacula, Paul is meditating.
Good morning flosey.
sa 7 please?
still in a fog
sa7 - add a little alien to the material.
ty got it.
gi, double helping of a consonant, out's opposite (gi6)
clue for mi 8, please?
I need a clue for to6 please
ha 6 first one please?
to6 - a male cat encounters a type of bird
hi babblers!
ah...oh got it.. thank you :) FINALLY uh!
I always forget that stupid word
mi8 - the root of a word used for circumstances that may help to excuse your action - to lessen the effect of something.
ha6 - how Scots would say possessing.
Hello asgreen.
haz dont know it.
hi Haz - hmmm - it looks like it's tough, by all the questions below?
not getting the to6 clue - type of bird? hello everyone!!
****tucks head down to dive in****
ha6 - the gerund ending on Scots have.
hi deb, nor I
The bird comes in blue varieties, also used as word for breast.
ty:)
sorry haz, i am totally not getting it. dont know the scots terms or anything else.
well think about it a while mkg. I'm sure you've seen ha4 scottish words in the grid before. use them as a guide
Haz - refresh my icon. It's a pic of Paul. Does that look like meditating?:-)
It's the same construction as the ha4/5s that follow it, if that's any help. Think vowels in unusual order.
ah, thanks Haz
i know the ha then uses second vowel next but then i am lost...
I can eve hear the ommmmmmmmmmm from here, Jacula.
thanks, Haz :)
It's the present participle or gerund ending, mkg. To be in the process of possession.
Good day, all. It looks like this may be just the moment for some jollity!
LOL, Haz.
looks exactly like meditating
Oh, bring on some frivolity, Vicuna!
Hi Babblers!
ty got it.
Not that I am going to be much help on that front today. Feeling a little slugful.
good morning Vicuna and Aloy
But seriously, Jacula, you're not complaining? Is it your computer he wants to use?
Don't encourage him, Ata.:-)
But I could probably fall on my face in a custard pie if that would help.
Slugful? Sluglike? Say it isn't so.
He could use the laptop but I think he wants this pc. If I let him have it I'll have to do my ironing.:(
Jac, is that a skunk hovering over him?
what is the fluffy thing looking like its about to flop on him?
No, Haz (giggling here), it's an Old English Sheepdog (not a real one) that sits on the back of the sofa.
Does he realise he's roused the interest of females around the globe?
from countdown: "if quizzes are quizzical, what are tests?"
any clue on the ga7
does anyone have the 2 i's starting from the bottom row? I'm really struggling to find these
That's a relief, Jac - it would have been a pretty big skunk.
I + Do****'s Pizza
Stoopid work! Don't these people understand...I'm Babbling? Be back later
ylleria - im5/12 (twice)
Hee hee, Ata. But are quizzes really quizzical? Isn't it more the quiz-asker who's quizzical? In which case, can women administer tests?
LOL Jac, I wondered!
te 5s and 6s? dont have any.
ga7 - a three lettered unkempt woman backwards, American hours of darkness.
Yes, Haz, he does. At least it's keeping him awake, though he is now resting his head on a flattened Friesian cow (a cushion).
thanks aloyisius - is that really a word? ;)
I see an animal theme emerging in your decor, Jacula.
yes, ylleria... and it has a relative with a different vowel on the end
I love your orange kitty picture, Ata!
isnt minge a word?
thanks haz, got them both now
There's a grey mouse cushion on the armchair.:)
ge 5 please?
pink - apparently not!
ge5 has a repeat vowel on the end
ge5 - a well-bred penguin
TY deb :) thats my ex-cat
ge 5 -plural of very clever person
ge5/14 - more than one Mensa member?
ty got the ge.
only in LIttle Britain and associated progs LOL
enable really needs to come into the 21st century
anyone have the te 5s? or 6s?
thanx haz
Divide by 10 for one te5
i have one te 5 - eighth, ninth, te***
i'm sorry guys, not getting the ge5. only two hours sleep;)
isn't moitie normally a word?
te5/10 - precedes hedron for a many-sided figure
ty i git it ylleria
Ata - like Moitie Mouse?
In French, certainly Atalante.
ooooh, I found an 8 all by myself!!
oh its moiety in english I think
deg - think of Aladdin's lamp friend, change the vowel at the end
bbl 29 left!
That looks better, Ata.
debjed, that should have been for ge5.
who is hedron haz???
oh got it haz. ty.
te5 + headron, mkg - a shape.
I don't know but he sounds very handsome. It's more a case of what than who.
*whistles contemplatively*
hi pink, bye pink!
got plural as well. just need the firstte
sorry, just need the first te 6 now.
headron? LOL, that must be Ron the Manager.
any help on the ge 6 or 7
Head Ron was what they called Reagan, surely?
ge6 & plural 7 are penguins.
Haz - brilliant!:D
ge6/24 - a well-bred penguin, ends with word for also
ge6 adds a double helping of a vowel to the mannerly man.
gent
lori, add the kanga ending to the polite man
oops...I'm sorry
the ge 7 is plural of ge 6. ge 6 is the ge 4 above it plus same vowel twice
My phantom today = anthrax.
haz i love your clues!
ooh, good phantom jacula
ot 5 anyone?
nice phantom. Mine today is 'moist'
...and 'engine'.
Let's hope anthrax stays a phantom, Jacula! Remember all the fuss when a whiff of talcum powder got you hosed down by firemen?
ot 5/10 - plural of ot 4/4
ot 5 is the pl of **** von Bismarck
Oh, ylleria, it's a good thing my friend Jan doesn't play Babble. She can't stand the word 'moist'.
ot5 - ot plus McAdam's legacy to roadbuilding
Moist is a great word!
moist is a HORRID word
A character, too, in Terry Pratchett books, for that matter.
haz what on earth is mc adams legacy on road building? wow...........
I see a hands up situation developing
moist is not here.
But it sounds so right!
Jac, my friend matt thinks it's a very dirty word, and therefore says it at every possible opportunity. I guess your friend and my friend wouldn't get on too well ;)
ot plus what is mixed with feathers to make a punishment for traitors.
I don't know why she doesn't like the word, Vicuna. A group of us had the discussion about favourite and unfavourite words whilst at dinner once.
allo, the other ot 5 is what i am missing.
it just sounds *nasty*
mkg, it is sticky (when hot) and black
ty got it.
Yes, but that's so fitting. You wouldn't want moist palms to sound darling, would you?
ylleria - neither would Ata and your friend!
missing the third ra 6 18........plz.
nm just got the ra word.
thanks for the great clues. got the ge6 and 7
Jac - he does seem to have that effect on people! ;)
it sounds pervily nasty though. like dirty old men in flasher macs
umm, to clarify, he has an amazing ability to get on people's bad sides, not um, anything to do with the 'm' word
What a useful skill, ylleria!
Though apparently it fails when it comes to you?
there a few of us who realise he's a decent bloke, even if he does say 'moist' continually ;)
any help on the ge5
Does he intend to get on people's bad sides or is he just a free moist spirit?
had to do some work, but did get that ge6, thank you
no, he never means too. he can be a bit tactless, but he never means to upset anyone
te 6 18 the first one please?
ge5 - Aladdin's powerful friend from the lamp, but give him a double same vowel ending.
well, except scientologists, he means it then
So, he's not a TOm Cruise fan?
what about mormons?
oh, no, very much not.
"Hail to thee, moist spirit! Bird thou never wert!"
te6/18 - combine a number with an item of neckwear sported by men
Thank you Haz....I never would have got it
ty haz got it.
You're welcome.
there's a Scientology centre in Edinburgh, and he did once end up having a huge argument with one of them in the street when they were handing out fliers there
the last th 5 12 please?
Are they still stationed on North Bridge?
nm got it.
clue for to6/27 please
sorry to 7/32
yes, I think so Haz
to7/32 - a plural.
They've been there for ages then - they used to be there when I was a student 30 years ago.
Sigh. I can't settle to anything today. I'd better go poke around at something else for a bit. *shrugs disconsolately and wanders off aimlessly*
anyone have first ti 6 27?
Oh, come and poke at the grid, Vicuna. What's the matter, just a not able to concentrate day?
ti6/27 - needed for comedians and transport managers
cheer up, Vicuna.. Spring is not far away!
ty how obvious! sorry to have missed it.
Atalante, do a dance or something to cheer up Vicuna. Or tell her about your to5/12 to show that others are worse off.
ummmmmmmmm ..... where's FM? we can blame her about Vi's discomfort and make her perform
need last ti 6 18 now!
Oh yes, Greek dances!
any clues for the RA6's
Greek dances with plate smashing.
lori, it
ti6/18 - run together the bird (or breast) and the neckwear
ra6,24 - i give you a 10/10 ra****
Oops. Lori, it's the rodent plust the number.
never did get the bird..........so sorry. i guess i got it but dont know.
I got the rodent ty
oh got it. didnt know that was a bird.
a map is full of different ra____ to make the land look bigger
The most frequently seen variety are blue t*** - well known for their balancing acts to get food.
very interesting haz.
now need to 6 21 first one please.
I've just been watching a pair of blue t*** out of my kitchen window. (No, it's not cold outside! LOL)
Jac lives in a naturist colony
wow they do exist? we dont have them here.
LOL, Ata.
I got those two ra 6's TY anymore clues
to6 - runs together a male cat and the omnipresent bird
do they exist? the birds??
i have heard of the mouse but not the bird.
Yes, the birds exist, mkg.
ty
firewks. ty ty all.
we didnt just make them up for today
ra6,18 = ra* (rodent) plus even number
hi all and congrats to mkg!!
Although with our past history, there's no knowing what we might come up with, Jacula.
lickety list says i need one more and i dont see any blank space. what is the story???????? odd.
Or Atalante, even!
Whatever you do, mkg, DON'T Google the word t***. Add 'bird' before looking for images. 8-/
speaking of cats, one just made our front page...traveled 180 miles in six weeks, in order to return to his former home. oh, and it was probably through either a wilderness area or Glacier National Park
ty bf
Good advice, Jacula. An eyeful of Jordan unclothed would finish anybody off.
I am still in need of 2 more RA 6's
Cats are determined creatures, aren't they?
I saw a nice book she "wrote" today. Sparkly pink and called "Katie Price's Perfect Ponies"
Pass the sick bucket.
it really was
mt
Bleurgh!
And she seriously thinks horsey people are going to buy this?
oooh, book talk at last! LOL
Haz - click on this: http://tinyurl.com/35xb4g
Do I need to gird my loins first?
bye, Babblers.. stay warm.. see you next grid
Yes, Haz. :D
Just Googled the horse book. I can't believe they're not available in US.
I put it as my icon too :)
I live in a *very* horsey town. They would eat that stuff up.
Gwen, I doubt it's worthy of the title 'book'.
clicked on the link, horrifying!! LOL
That poor pony. Pink bridle. I hope it stood on her foot.
LOL, Haz.
hey, not even the US postal service can define a "book" . . .
I note that the evil Tesco are selling it....
Can't they, Gwen??
Oh yes, Haz. I've been meaning to give you a ring about how you got on with your supermarket saga.
typical tesco
I have not crossed the door of the new establishment, although daughter has. Not a reply to my letter, so they can take their groceries and sell them to someone else!
what is the story of your Tesco saga, Haz?
any clues for the ge6 and ge7- are they a combo
However, I have heard through the grapevine that they have tripled their profits since they moved so they're obviously not too worried about me!
That's very restrained, Haz. Is that what you've have said on the 'phone?
jacula, sure they can, sort of, but their definition includes the presence or absence of advertising, so WTF?
Oh, absolutely, Jacula, I'm the soul of discretion, as you know.
we don't have tesco in the US, so please tell me how they are evil! (seriously)
Very odd, Gwen!
gracewer - ge 6/7 - a type of penguin and plural
Quick question - what is a "dinner lady"? Apparently a british term for...something?
tonto is hiding in the grid
they are like walmart. but smaller
a bit
ah, i see. wal-mart is certainly evil!!
dinner lady = someone who serves up lunch / dinner for school kids
Dinner ladies are generally found in school cafeterias
Ylleria - Tesco in the middle of the town closed down and a huge new one on the outskirts opened. They ran down the old one until there was practically nothing left - no new deliveries for a week, bare shelves like something out of cold war Russia. I complained that they had treated the staff and customers like dirt. Not a word in reply to my letter.
dinner lady = lunch lady (school term)
You do have Tesco in the US, Gwen but they're called Fresh & Easy.
any clues for the ar 5
Aha! a cafeteria worker. I spose I ought to have made that parallel, as it is a lunch lady to me. Thanks!
and I enclosed my cut up Tesco Clubcard and Visa card just for good measure.
OMG, haz, that i8s exactly like wal-mart! suck all the money out of an area, then move on. Evil!
Did you really Haz?
ASDA hve been rubbish since WalMart took them over here.
Help with to6/21, please?
and we have wal-mart, which is bad enough. thank goodness there are many like me whoh are aware of their evilness and do not shop there
Walmart is certainly the evilest store I have stumbled upon so far.
Yes, Uniquity, I really did. I was incensed that I had been giving them LOTS of money over the years and they didn't even have the decency to close the doors when there wasn't a carrot to be sold or an onion to buy. They were trading under false pretences as far as I was concerned.
I wish we had a Sainsbury's nearby. I can only go there when I can get a lift. There's no direct bus.
Morrisons is okay but rather expensive.
I think that is a good stand Haz! I am impressed
to6/21 - male cat encounters a bird with breast connotations.
i read that wal-mart will kick you out for price-shopping, but i figured out a way to price-shop without being kicked out. hee hee
and guess what my only two options are for shopping since i moved into my new flat? Yep, Asda and Tesco :s
I think Canterbury has the biggest selection of supermarkets ever - we have huge Tesco's, Sainsbury, morrison, asda, lidl, co-op ...
I'm going to Sainsburys now - more expensive but not quite so evil.
atalante, and the internet! 8-)
I know, Ata. I like Canterbury. A bit far for me to go on a weekly basis though. LOL
ty, Haz. And I feel ya on the supermarket woes. The store next to our apt. we loved got bought out by a blah chain.
Sainsburys do online shopping ...
I don't like the idea of grocery shopping via the internet. I like to pick my own stuff - longest date, no bruised or dented stuff etc.
I hate supermarket shopping! It was going to be a big enough trauma changing store after going to the same one for 25 years never mind being treated as the least important part in the whole grocery empire building equation.
Jacula - is Paul still meditating? He's bound to have come up with an answer to Tesco by now.
never bought groceries online, and i agree, i would want to pick my own scallions and stuff
nith
No, Haz. He's using the laptop at the kitchen table. Kitchen's smelling good now. I have a shoulder of lamb roasting in the oven with rosemary and garlic.
eek
Have you seen a mouse, Gwen? *Hands Gwen a chair to stand on.*
Good for you. If I put Spangle outside, I bet she'd be able to pick up the scent.
eek! no, ust started typing gibberish for a second . . .
mmmm, lamb
So, I'll know who the brown-eyed hairy girl at my door is when she arrives with her tongue hanging out, Haz.
...unless it's Gwen. LOL
I don't know if I like being described that way.....
phantom, attention!
I meant Spangle, Haz.
BDG - remove the charged particle and you have yourself a word.
I know, Jacula!
Phantom - angina.
(yep, haz, and i guess i shouldna gave that away)
I need to go and lie down for a bit. anaasthetic's wering off completely and it huuuurts
Am giggling out loud thinking of you now, Haz. Want some Veet-o for your birthday?
Poor Ata.
We've been terribly impressed with dog's ability to smell things - those dogs in Jersey detected a body through seven inches of concrete. And to think we think that a newspaper over Spangle's bowl is going to stop her smelling when a treat is placed there for tea....
spangle just humours you
dogs have something like a million more "smell-nerves" than we do
I know, she probably thinks we're daft.
knows you're daft ;) according to her
Anyway, I'll humour her now and get us ready for that walk. Take care Atalante!
Only 'thinks', Haz?
gmta Jac!
*poofs*
She knows I'm a soft touch, that's for sure. Gives me the look and then depending on which way she turns in the utility room she either gets a treat, or is let out to do toilet.
I need to go and do some work in the greenhouse. BBL for last 38.
And off I go as well. Bye everyone!
Bye, Haz, Ata et al. xx
by by by all who are leaving
OK, I need help on the ti6/27. I can't figure out the "comedians and transportation managers" clue.
clue for ti6/27 please
i couldn't figure out the either
I can figure out what letters ought to be in it, but they don't seem to make a word.
its a word used in logistics, too
and in skiing and swimming competitions
*doh* Got it! I was not looking in the right place.
Think father ti* + common end*** on words
Thanks, GB.
yeah, one of those when after you see it you do a "doh" - there are a bunch of those in this puzzle, it's awkward for some reason
at 5/10 clue?
Alright finally got the ti, it only took me 2 hours. lol
ruru, think of a hallway.
not a hallway so much as a bunch of waiting rooms
All I can think of is anterooms
Think latin! :) or heart parts...
okay, a bunch of lobbies with high ceilings
got it
Do you need a different clue ruru or did you get it?

I will try to cut a long story short, my son divorced many years ago has got remarried and had another daughter, but has always done everything with his children 4 nights a week staying with him, holidays etc normal dad things, now his daughter aged12 has said she hates his wife and doesnt want to see them
I can't see the GE 6/7 pair; any help would be greatly appreciated
ge6 a name for a man + double vowel, then pl
ge6/24 - a well-bred penguin, starts with chap, ends with double vowel
Oh dear, has the ex wife poisoned her mind against your son and wife, do you think caitlyn?
oh, cait, how horrible, though, really, a not uncommon reaction for children at that age. has no one been able to get more information, i.e. is there a reason other than betterness about him remarrying.
what a weird word; thnx so much for the clue
Could it be just typical stuff for the age, or do you think there's more to it? Anyway, that hurts a lot. Be brave.
No they get on well as split parents pink and my grandaughter has only ever shown love to all...we now think she has been acting all along
and the GI 6?
your son is in an awkward position, as are all of you...maybe its a bit of jealously?!
I can cope with grotty for a while kids but its heart breaking to see my son so upset and bemused ,he cant eat or sleep and his little daughter is wondering why she cant see her brother and sister
gi6/24 - sounds like Well, I giss I'll be gi6/24' along.
thnx, Vicuna!
Do they live near you? Just be careful that whatever happens you keep the best relationship you can with the girl.
She'll need you.
excellent advice, vicuna
im so sorry you all are going through this, unfortunately, there is no easy fix plan on this one. All you can do is be there for everyone involved!
They live a few miles away but lately I have only seen them when they visit with dad,so i wont see them either
Sorry gang I have now depressed everyone..Thanks for the shoulders I will get myself a glass of wine and cheer up
ti6/27?
ti6/27 - important for comics and egg-cookers
it's just sad caitlyn!
thanks!
Well, caitlyn, I hope it eases up. Maybe you can arrange to see them sometimes on your own, at least.
ty, vic
Thanks all..
ooohhh, just got it--thanks, vicuna!
i hope it all works out for the best, for everyone!
hear, hear, pink!

Oh yes, Une is right, proving apparently that I am not one! =)
LOL!
ty, vic
Of course, I hadn't htought I was a spirit in a lamp, either, so I haven't lost anything.
:-D
I would rather have my spirit in a glass !!
Perhaps, although when the spirit in the glass starts performing miracles, you've probably had too much!
LOL vic
LOL
clue please for ge6/27 with the 7/36 please?

hello gang -- just dropping in to show you my vase -- then must dash to lunch and the library for my shift there

I need to put a vase up
YAY uniq!!!

Oh congrats Uni, I must try harder.
Gotta love vases with a meaning and history, makes them even more beautiful
I have 83 left -- unlikely to finish -- lack of time (and brain)
LOL FM! I am watching the video now. Slightly bizarre
that was strange
uniq -- yours is beautiful -- so are the lilies!
Babble window was moving up and down
Ah the only drawback to not having expert.

I get that sometimes praise and it's residue mouse movement (on mine anywahy)

bye jill
Bye jilli and thanks for sharing and otherintersting one.
Thank you Jilli. This is not a good shot for the vase, but it is a simple piece with a bit of "ruffle" effect at the upper edge. I adore it...Yours has a beautiful shape! I like the tapered neck
i am out too bye
strange--never seen anything like that Fmitch
Praise, if you use a laptop it is a mousepad oddity

Hello...I am toying with finding these last 85...
hey red
Hi nance.
Hello red
hi red
Hi FM, and Atalante.
ok so my last 81 make that.
Hello all. I'm back for a few more words.
hi jac.
Evening Jacs
OK, I have change my icon at last
how do u get an icon?
Hi jacula
and very elegant it looks too Ex
I'll have to find myself another vase. I lost the original when I posted P's pic up earlier to show him 'meditating'.
mybella you have to sign up to pro status
i did
In which case go to "My Account" and click on edit un the blank icon box if I remember correctly.
thanks
Then you need to fill details in like sex & origin to get a 'handbag' and a flag, mybella.
Jacs, love P meditating pic :)
but why is there a skunk or badger on the sofa with him?
its an old english sheepdog! duh!
I think its an oldenglish sheep dog meditating there.
FM - Odd that he was saying 'zzzz' instead of 'ohmmmm'. LOL, everyone asked that earlier. It's a floppy Old English Sheepdog that sits on the back of the sofa.
Ata beat me to it...
My Icon today represents my frustration with people.
I gave up on the theme.
Well of course it is ... *smiles broadly whilst backing out of the room* of course it's a nice doggy!
Oh dear, red!
LOL sometimes its necessary
A sheep dog is better than a skunk FM!!
FM - his head is resting on a flattened Friesian cow.
not to another skunk it isn't :)
LOL, FM.
true FM true, but are you calling yourself a skunk?
Im on a roll in the t's, so many old babblets once you st5 looking
ge6 anyone?
I was fighting for the underdog red, or should that be the under skunk. Tomorrow it will be another cause.
Notgetting why angio is not a word.
we use angio caths at work. all day long...
Blimey! I hadn't spotted the st5 (although I had the food or loose-moralled women that makes up most of it). Thanks, FM!
Good for you FM, for standing up for the skunk.
red - it's a prefix, not a word in its own right.
pigeon pl of the ge5
Ignore that pigeon
I suppose, but...I still think it unfair.
enable is unfair
Jac, I just spent a minutelooking for loose moralledwomen in the grid, not realizing you were referring to the food OR loose moralled women. Oops.
ge6 = short form of "a decent chap / man" + vowels ge7 = as above but pl
Life in unfairtoo, so i guess enableisupwith the times Ata...
enable is more arbitrary than unfair, really.
i'm out 4 a bit - y'all have fun & gl
4 ...
LOL, red. Sorry!
ta ta
Its ok Jac...
ciao, nance
Whatever you sya seain, I cant think too well today.

A tyrannosaucer.
LOL babrab

LOL
do you hunt the internets for bad jokes, BR?
nah, many just come to me
P told me a bad joke today... There was a knock at my door and, when I answered it, a giant beetle was standing there. It punched me in the face and called me 'a b*st*ard'! Later on, I found out there's a nasty bug going around.
LOL
that works!
Must admit, I did laugh.
Jacula, that is a very funny joke....in the right situation!
LOL Jacs Seta large tray of tea and coffee on the table - helop yourselves.
Thanks, FM. Slurp, slurp.
*helps self to some tea, and adds some chocolate bonbons to the table*
Hi all. How's everyone today?
*remembers she's in company and stops drinking tea out of the saucer* :D
On diet, takes some coffee, and attmpts to be less crabby.
mmmm tea! ty!
Hello, Krysten.
saucer drinking is appropriate in the most formal circomstancecs, jac, not to mention hitorically appropriate
So, I believe dcs. I know my Welsh gt. grandmother used to do it.
red, have some of the goodies on this plate, all low cal and taste great
miss manner wrote a whole column on the topic some while back.
miss manners rather
Where was that dcs?
Miss Manners is a serialized manners columnist based at The Washington Post. She has several books, aka Judith Martin.
I'll have to look her up Dcs. Thanks.
does saucer drinking prevent disORIENTation?
Got to go. 'Torchwood' is on. BBL.
Im watching too Jacs
Poor Owen, FM.:*-(
What groan to laughter ratio do you aim for BabbleR?
I tend towards a higher groan with perhaps some sardonic laughter
Then I think your targets are more or less achieved :)
ha 6 please??
Must go for a little while TTFN
praise, make a gerund o the word under it.
phantom anthrax
ty seain
yw, praise :)
phantom: snollygoster
Good afternoon everyone!! Where are you getting a word list? Or is Lickety only not working for me?
just tried lickety and the list came up hello, pablo blanco
I've been getting the list for yesterday all day, until now.
no computer maven am I?
you must have given me the good luck!
pablo, usually deleting cookies and files, closing all browsers, and signing into babble again then opening lickety will fix that.
Watch out for the 6 legged, 3 eyed snolly goster especially when it is out hunting the slithy toves ;)
thanks, i thought i was going listless today
those snollygosters are just the worst
but slithy toves are so nice, especially when they gyre and gimble in the wabe. how sad :(
aren't they just! but not as bad as the flangemangers. True dc but the mimsey moamwaths alwasy got in the way with all that outgrabing.

I just love those little creatures though
I have a stuffed one named Laura
No, I was saying that I "got" that the clothes were clean.

i'll check it out, mom
the actual name is (close your eyes Aknitter) Heavenly Handfuls Li'l Monkey Hugs

oh LilMonkey, that is sweet
how cute
heavenly handfuls! Getting racey here
you were suppose to close your eyes
teehee! sounds like someone's grabbing some ti6
i don't know at 5 posable inches youd have to have rather tiny hands to get a handful
as long as we are going in the gutter, the other monkey names are, go bananas, little sucker, no more jumping on the bed and daddy's little monkey
i would prefer 8 posable inches
lol Lil Monkey
there is no return from this gutter --- little sucker????
and he has a pacifier in its mouth
i must get the entire collection!!! my bf is cracking up right now :)
oh, it is a girl monkey, she is wearing a pink shirt

westie, now you're killing me!

what a bee does when it's mad at you
and that should be hey now...
we're just funning there are many good ones
oh my appologies to all the honest lawyers in the world, all 2 of them!
just kidding
i'm honest... of course I am transactional, so that does not really count
oops sorry hackerly
westford gives hack a hug
no worries
i'm used to it
I'm half Polish so I am too
big hugs back... i do residential real estate and resort planning so I have no need to lie
hahah...
you won't sue us will you? Oh i just can't stop myself
going to get the duck tape and tape my mouth shut
no... i don;t do that... i hate to fight and agrue
thank goodness for you then
I do happy things like property closings... so my clients are generally happy... either buying a new home or selling it... so I can be sweet and cheerful because I have no ill-will
you leave the foreclosures to the mean nasty people?
after i bought my house i had $11.00 left in the bank. went out to a mc donalds to celebrate - that was all i could afford
hey but you have a home! that is the best thing in the world... i rent!! god help me
ah but at least you had a new house to eat it in
need a good property lawyer hackerly?
seriously... and Mickie D's has the best fries
anyone have the ge 6/7 combo? they are hiding from me
i can practice in Georgia & Alabama... why whats going on
I don't do any foreclosure! I won't touch it
though that is the big thing right now... i can't throw anyone out of their home
though that is the big thing right now... i can't throw anyone out of their home
such a sad thing
ge 6/7 man+also plural for 7
it is... i am to tender hearted for that... my parents lost their house when i was litle and it really has been a long road for them
so sorry to hear that hack
is that what made you decide to become a lawyer?
no worries... my Dad just made some bad business deals and it is all good again
no... i actually hate it and I am thinking about teaching
we need good teachers that's for sure
my plan is to make as much money as I can before taking on a career where I won't make much money
most tend to do that but stay where the money is
it's a shame teachers are so poorly paid
of course my boyfriend is a doctor... so hopefully I can teach once we are married and it won't really matter... how terrible is that
ty book for the ge 6 and 7 took me a while to figure it out LOL
it is.... they should be the highest paid people
and we wonder why the kids today can't read or write
they need to stop passing them to the next grade if they can't read
I don't know if it's still true but garbage collectors used to make more than college professors
yep...
i can believe that... i guess because it is dangerous
teaching can be too lol
but then again... schools today are scary
true... hahah
I have to go get dinner now nice talking to you and hope to see you again
take care... make something good

The entire title is: A New Earth, Awakening to your Life's Purpose by Eckert Tolle. I heard about it on the Oprah show.
I'm working on a headache, but otherwise i'm fine, Stid, how about you?
I am ... *stops to think* *fails at thinking* good, tired, and very pleased I got the kid to the museum this afternoon.
I have seen it, peri, due to Oprah, now that you mention it...
Haven't read it, though
I signed up for the free on-line class which starts next week.

I was looking at the wrong t - crazy killer easy word!
fair enough, asgreen :)
well, if anthrax and narthex were accepted, I'd be done now, but I still need one more - clue for to 4/4
lol - can you believe th**? haha
i need a clue for the mo 5/12 second one
as i did the same thing with the io words
I need ONE MORE to 4/4 - I need the one before "carrying"
anthrax is a phantom
which to 4/4?
I know dc, just reaching for the impossible
X only occurs in ta4 this game
drop a vowel from warm bread JBV
a piece of to4 with butter and jam
thanks, dc - enjoying the fireworks, thanks for all your help
and thanks, asgreen

ty fireworks im off to bed
yw jbv

no, at the end
3rd and 4th mo5/12, add a vowel to mo 4/5

ciao, asgreen!
i have that one as well
i need the mo 4/5 above the insect
oops 5/12 not 4/5 sorry
there are 5 mo5/12s total; are you missing one?
so mo4 it be, or a mo4 of dust
yes dc missing one mo5 its the one above the insect
hello wordy friends! how are you all tonight?
hi weegee
mo4/5 change last consonant on insect to vowel
mo5/12, add last consonant of that 4/5 to the end.
hi, weegee
I've piddled with this grid on & off all day, found all sorts of odd ones and think my remaining 80 are probably ordinary words and their plurals...
i am totally confused
i need the MO 5/12 ABOVE the insect
yes, mlf, that's the one i clued.
mo+***offensive vietnam war
see, you made my point mlf, I didn't have the insect but do have the 5, the plural of the null point
add a cons to which 4/5?
mo5/12 above the insect adds a consonant to the mo4 above the 5. The mo4 above the 5 same as isnsect, but ends in a vowel, not consonant.
weegee lol
wrong mo5, weegee
sorry, listless
the mo5/12 above the insect is between the insect and the other mo4 to which you add the consonant
GOT IT FINALLY
well done, mlf
phew ty dc
perhaps I should go get the list...
dc unfortunately i have another 5/12 for you
NE 5/12

ty dcs
and sorry, but I just don't feel like searching. It's a cartoon
weegee where in nc?
maybe somebody else will find the link? I gotta go to bed
I've forgotten, sorry mlf. Actually was hoping to fly through Cinci... wary of northern weather
