My friends boy has Aspergers and a decent school that gets him and appreciates him. So far this year he has kids wanted him to help with their home work and he also received a $20 canteen voucher for breaking up a fight with a bully (that hit him) and another kid.
So, sprite, all I can console you with is that this, too, shall pass. And a perfectly nice person (not the axe murderer I used to worry about when my oldest son was that age) will pop out the other end!

I feel as though I just had a bit part in a zany comedy. Today is deep-cleaning day... vacuuming the mattresses, flipping them... you know...moving everything out of the way to catch lurking dustbunnies. West, I went shopping yesterday. Salmon is sky-high, and my beloved thinks it's heaven. I bought a 7-lb. piece and had to carve it into steaks... man, was that hard to do... there were some strong bones in there and I had to use the cleaver... our cats were very, very attentive, but won't eat raw fish.

Lori-clove oil works pretty great (1 TBSP oil w/ 2-4 drops) on teething as does frozen milk or formula in mesh feeding bags

lori-motrin seems to work a lot better but call the Dr for dosage (some don't like motrin before 6 months or for small babies)

OK...this is about to drive me nuts. We get at least 10-15 calls a day from "unknown name" and "unknown number". If the call is answered there is never anybody there. I assume it is one of those services that records the time of day you answer and then sells the info to telemarketers. Does this happen to any of you?

I live in the (almost) boonies (central MS), and the best Drs here can get away with behaving however they please. I think this practice got in the habit through having too many patients, and now it's a habit
Many times, if you make the secretary aware of your concerns, they will make sure that you are seen on time. Too many people expect ot wait and their time is devalued by the staff.

A friend of mine who is the CEO of a major corporation, went to see a "big" specialist. He wasn't seen for over 40 minutes after his appointment, so he sent the doctor a bill for $1500.00, stating that his time is more valuable thent he doctor's. He caused quite a stir, and the docotr called and apologized when he threatened to take the doctor to small claims court for the fee.

An office can be run efficently. My office staff has monthly meetings and problems with scheduling are resolved. If the physician cares about the patient's it can be worked out effectively.

Tyger, I think too many patient's have a mystique about physicians, and that allows the person to make excuses for the doctor and the office staff. They should be held to the same standards as any other business. Would you wait 4 hours for a table at the best restaurant. Of course not. Best doctor is a state of mind, not usually a state of being.

Tell me about it. NY does not have tort reform, becaue the state legislature is in bed with the trial lawyers. Malpractice can be astronomical.

i love when i have an operation and i get a bill several months later for $1.50 for a bandaid. I think thats cheap for a bandaid , but it cracks me up that months later they bill for it
