It is a month away :-)

Lifting head to see Doug's clue sail over me :-)
if anyone reads katherine kurtz, doug's clue is also the name of one of her major characters
Morning Ata :-)

boy i'm finding this tough this morning
hello ata

and a t
Actually, that clue was from Gilbert and Sullivan's The Sorcerer, where I played the Rev. Dr. Daly
ok that helps
I'm sure your clue was good Doug, it's my knowledge thats bad :-)
It's not a commonly used word Katie, although it might have been in 1870's England...
got it after reading most of the script lol
I'd better go and get ready, got a dress fitting at 10am and the girls coming at 2. Might be back if I can fit it in :-)

Thanks Atalante, enjoying a cup of co4...
Thanks Atalante, enjoying a cup of co4...
This is a sticky wee puzzle, isn't it?
isn't it just.
hi haz!
hi everyone.
Good morning! It's full of words that lead nowhere.
I think it's the lack of Es that are the trouble.
and no T.
True, I'd have lots more words if an e would show up. But are we downhearted?
utterly
Not one bit....because we are off to Greece (or Terminal 5) VERY soon.
No! You're meant to chorus NO! to indicate how happy we are to be challenged like this.
Oh Liz! Pack very light.
no! NONO!
Seriously, pack only what you can carry with you in the cabin. It's not worth the risk otherwise.
My fear is that we won't even reach the cabin.
I think you'll get there
Are you flying down?
Morning all. Heard yesterday about a poor girl who flew out of terminal five to go to the Caribbean for her wedding. BA have lost her wedding dress!
Good morning all! Clue please for am6/24?
Good morning Frances and Flask. Wouldn't that make you so mad!
am6 - French love and lots of it.
Flask plural the am5/14 - the love related one
thankyou!
However, fingies crossed we'll be one of the 92% (VERY funny) that BA are saying get through trouble free!!! (they obviously prefer not to watch the news! Yes, flying Glasgow/T5/Athens.
Frances, what's happened to your icon? it looks a bit half-hearted about appearing.
Haz the poor girl is tearing her hair out. You know how much a wedding dress costs these days.
1/4 heated in fact
I hope it goes well. Keep your wits and your bags about you.
Sorry, I didn't notice the 2nd S.....!
I know, Frances, they cost a fortune and you'd like to think you'd get to wear it.
*hearted
No problem, Flask.
thanks, will do.
Icon is supposed to be one of my silk quilt blocks but as I'm not at home I can't mend it.
How long are you away for, liz?
off to have my breakfast now. Back later to see if any Es have appeared.
A week, Haz.
We live in hope liz. Enjoy breakfast.
You should be able to pack light then - have a good time if I don't see you before then.
Frances, the colour looks lovely
Thanks, I will.
Different blues and white Haz.
Is the quilt finished or a work in progress?
Work in progress Haz. Each block is different. A lot are made from different silk dupion tartans with co-ordinating plains. All surrounded with white.
it will be *gorgeous* frances!
I agree. I'm in awe of the skill and time involved.
I hope so Ata. This one is for me. I'll have to see if I can put a picture up of a few of the different blocks.
FMitch should design a virtual exhibition centre where babblers could display their arts and crafts.
And it would have the 'Gallery' music used by Tony Hart.
Wouldn't that be great.
We'll have to start dropping hints.
WE WANT A VIRTUAL EXHIBITION CENTRE, FMITCH!
Wow - big hint!
No point being coy about the thing.
I'm being pinned in a corner by a non-existent corgi.
I keep trying that one too Haz.
is spangle happy about that?
but me too
Spangle doesn't seem to mind. It's really annoying me!
hi all, and here are my interesting phantoms so far: junior, insipid, unison, and throat warbler mangrove
insipid lipids
Good morning BDG.
Morning Gwen. Interesting selection.
howdee haz, and what is this about being trapped by a toy car?
A toy car would be bad enough. This is a corgi, dog breed beloved by the Queen. Short and ankle-nipping, apparently.
I wouldn't fancy Al Fayed's chances if he were left alone with a few of them.
no, corgis are toy cars, too! LOL
I can remember when a corgi was a real car.
Are corgi cars still being made or do boys just play with computers these days?
Computers Haz.
computerised corgi cars
dunno. try corgi.com and see what ya get 8-)
Corgi (with the dog as its logo) would appear to still be in business.
good!
neat-o
I would be ecstatic to get a clue for either of the d's, so I could get to NBT!
still don't know, sorry!
i'm still working on the top row, sorry!
I'll look.
clue for co7/36 please?
di6 - late princess, a vowel and Pres Reagan, short version
di 7 is the plural.
I don't have it yet, Flask, but I'll look.
thx Haz"
ty, got them, haz
co7/36 - almost, but one letter short, of being the sort of punishment given to the body (the cane for example)
thanks Haz!
You're welcome.
Or I suppose you could say it's one letter short of being a punishing army rank.
Anyway, back to grinding out words without e.
Thanks Haz, I certainly wouldn't have stumbled onto that one, left to my own devices
Neither would I, Douglas. Morewords came to the rescue.
Stephen King wrote about the children of the co4
Maybe they had co5, callouses and bunions
poor children
chirp chirp!
(falls over asleep) bonk!
Do you want to be wakened up or is it time to go to bed?
hmmm, not sure. true i am up very late, at least in my time zone
You haven't been to bed yet?
i did have a short nap
figured a bout with babble would put me out, and hey lookit that
We've obviously not done enough to bore you to sleep. We need to start talking economics or something.
yep, that'll work LOL
Okay, what economic words do I know? Budget, tax, fiscal whatsit, dividends, tax, stocks and shares, tax...
Financial Times, FTSE, NASDAQ, (or NASCAR as some of us like to think of it) ....tax...
Eyes drooping yet?
unemployment, welfare, compensation, insurance, food stamps, social security . . .
eegad it's not working LOL
Oh, you're much better than me. Bills, bills, tax, tax, bills, bills....
try scientific names. Balanus balanoides, palaeoichthyology, acentrrophorus, palaeoniscus frienslebensi
sheep sheep sheep sheep sheep sheep
nerita pelleranta!
crepidula fornicata
Or German compound words. My favourite is Minderwertigkeitskomplex.
Gluwurmchen
bleistiftshpitzmachine!
Running to find a German translation of how to work anything technical...
boomenthiskablotcher ! !
(actual surname that i had in a dream when i was little)
Some Philistine has thrown out all the German instructions in this house.
!
Good morning. Is this grid as ridiculous as it looks?
The very time you need a good burst of 'Achtung!' you can't find any.
Morning all. Thought I'd better stop lurking and use an icon to assist Gwen in zzzzzing. :-)
hi eva, and yes it is 8-)
hell Eva and everyone. No Eva, it is even worse
Good morning, Eva. It looks ridiculous at first glance, starts to cooperate, then goes on strike again.
Good morning Jacula, lynxxx.
hey, i usually have no problem falling asleep. i do intend to lie down as soon as find find a few more beastly words
I was afraid of that. Nary an e in sight
Gwen - click on my icon when you're read to sleep.
You're getting sleepy, Gwen. You're repeating repeating words.
*ready
um, here i go
very cute, jacula!!
We'll know if it's worked if she slumps over the keyboard.
actually, sheep don't put me to sleep. watching bad movies on tv does, though
morning all!
Hello, pink.
Good morning pink.
hello, jac!
Good morning Haz.
okay, i am now going to bed. left myself a few words to work on later. nighty night and **PHFTHTHTHTH!!**
Bye BDG.
Bye BDG!
'Night Gwen.
Astonishing and cute video. Can I help with anything before I go?
Hi Pink, and bye Gwen
Congratulations lynxxx.
Hellio Lynxxx, well done!
Well done, lynxxx.
I'll be off then, bye all, have fun!
I'm going to take a break - laundry to hang out, dog to walk, gr4/7 to kick about the place. I'll be back later. Bye for now!
I'm off for a few days, see you sunday!
Bye Haz!
'Bye, Haz. See you later.
See you Sunday, Atalante - Byee!
Ata - Have a good time and don't forget to Cartlandise yourself.
This is ridiculous! 64 left and I've come to a complete stall
Also ridiculous that it may snow again today. I know I should start my seeds, but it seems unrealistic to believe that they will ever go into the ground.
Eva - I can vouch that there are at least 24 more words than that.;-)
hello Eva, and Atalante
Are you sure you aren't hallucinating?
hi pink
Yes, I'm being held up on the gardening front. Snow forecast here for Sunday.
Hi Jac! Thanks for all the helpful messages you've left on my blog. It's wonderful to get feedback. And hi Eva, pink and Haz.
morning hydra
*Checks tea to make sure no hallucinogen has been added.* Nope! I'm fine.
hello hydra
's done
I've been staring at the sheep on Jac's icon, hoping it'll fall flat on its face sooner or later. Now I'm going dizzy!
Morning, Hydra. I enjoy your blog immensely, as you know. I will start mine soon... when I can think what to burble about. LOL
Yes, it is rather a lively sheep.
To save me going mad, does it do anything but jump?
Hey bubbles, did u just get fireworks? Did I miss it?
no just finished the j's and i was happy lol
'Fraid not, Hydra.
Well done; I've only found two.
I've got 6 of the 10 j words.
That saves me gazing at it all day then! My BF has a sheep on his that stands doing nothing for ages, then just as you're giving up on it, it will do something, or a space ship comes down and the sheep goes pink and a flower grows out of its head. It's crazy!
Grr! Daughter's just emptied teapot. Need more tea! BBS.
I've got 4 j's now.
Tea now brewing.
Does Mr. Grumpy play Babble, Hydra?
BTW, if you want to see some funny films check out my bio, especially the first two 'Simon's Cat' animations.
I have a paltry 440 words, the sun is shining and I think I'll go to the gym for the first time in 2 months (or is it three)? No, Mr G tried it before he had his stroke, but now he doesn't have the concentration. But he does sit there downloading scads of Celtic music. I';ll look at those films, Jac. And now, Byeeee!
440 words?? Which gr4/7 are you doing? LOL
Doh! I was looking at the points! 43 words, I meant. Now I really AM going, but before I do, your photos of last year#s floods made fascinating (and grim) viewing. Hope it doesn't happen again.
I hope not, too! See you in your blog, Hydra. Don't strain anything at the gym!
Yippee! The j's are done.
My icon is in the grid...
So is one of the words you just typed.
Morning Babblers Any German speakers playing?
Nien.
Hi, FM.
LOL Hi Jacs
morning everyone how are u all
Good morning, cool.
Just my luck, usually there are a smattering of languages to call upon. Hi cool
Hi FMitch, just noticed your ? about German, I'm OK at it, can I help you?
G'd morning Babblers! Will this grid involve cussing? :-)
You'll wait for ages and then 3 will turn up all at once, FM.
Trudges off to the penalty box...
Hi, Lori. It's... challenging.
Oh Marmar thank you - It's only two words I wanted to check: Leadership Management
Oooh, couched term like challenging......***pours more coffee in preparation***
Hi Lori
hi all i'm back
I'Mm consulting now with German husband...
Hi, ardilla & Marmar.
Thanks, I didn't want to google etc
wb ardilla
haanyone got a clue 4 the first co7/40 pleases
Nudges Lori, I did say hello you know :) Hi ardilla
co + very religious (pi5)
don't know if it's the 1st one, but I have a co7/40 that means lots of, as in co amounts
co7/40 - lots and lots, i.e. She cried co7 tears.
Oww! ***When was "nudge" redefined? 2 minutes in the box for unnecessary roughness*** Oh, why g'd morning FM! :-)
ty everyone
Leadership: Führung (Leadership ability, Führungsqualität) ....
((Lori)) sorry bit stressed today
Fuhrung it is.
Don't be stressed. That's what meds are for!
Management: can also be "Führung" (Executives of a company: Gescheftsführung)
Hanging on Marmars every word and about to fall over as grip is going..... Ah, thats probably why it was left in English. Thank you so much, really appreciated.
I love Babblers Back to work Thank you!!!!!!
Good luck, FM!
FMitch, the differences in those definitions can be so slight but change the whole meaning, you know? Those types of words are usually in English here too!
Happy whatever it is you're doung FM! :-)
Hello everyone
Bitte sehr!
Hi, Scrabbs.
G'd morning Scrabbler
bye FM hi scrabbs *hug*
Lori, I'm preparing and printing a training course for 20 people in Munich for next week and printing another one in English for a UK Co. Hi/bye Scrabbler *poof*
G'd luck with that FM.
Ack, cr5/16 is a pediatric infection that we see frequently, especially during the winter respiratory illness season. It is also called viral laryngotracheobronchitis.
Hmm, I remember having to do the very same thing only it was Anglicising a leaflet translated badly from German. Gave me a few headaches but I got there in the end.
10 J words?
'Fraid so, Scrabbs. Some are court related.
Oh, TY, Jacula, I wasn't seeing anything other than ji4 at first.
If you put a negative word in front of those court-related words you'll get the two longest words in the gr4/7.
Yahoo! TY, Jacula. You made my day. I have to see the endodontist after lunch and I am afraid that the verdict will be 2 root canals. Yuck--pain will be physiologic and financial.
Ouch, Scrabbs. I don't envy you that.
tyvm jac
y/w, Ardilla.
FIREWORKS!:-)
wtg jac
Yippee for Jacula!!!
Thanks. Time I got on with the laundry. Happy Babbling!
Congrats Jacula!
Bye Jac.

hi nono
i would say to check the pawn shops, but with a digital camera, if someone has it they will more than likely keep it. don't y'all think so?

well, good luck ardilla
thank you
Unless a person is honest and caring
hello nono, nance, ardilla, scrabbler, and carlee how are you all?

lol @ perky boobs
if the ultrasound said is ok.... relax and breath

i had same thing happen to me a few years ago and I was amental wreck... hubby found me curled up under an occasional table in corner balling eyes out I was so freaking scared
i had no idea how worried i was when they asked me to come back
how is the puzle!!!
awwwwww carlee - you are ok though right?
i cried through entire ultrasound... and even tho the technicians not allowed to "interpret" results...she tried to reassure me she really could not see anything suspicious
oh heck yea..that was 10+ years ago
wonderful
hi, all. this grid is nuts.
and..the WORST thing..anyone can ever say to u is " why are u so upset..there is NOTHING u can DO about it...so relax until u DO know"
who said!!!
i wanted to rip anyone and everyone eyes and tongue out whenever they said that to me

thank you BR
thanx Babrab...was on phone....!
i have a friend ...or had...am not sure yet.. and over years she has been through alot of rough times... and I was there to support her..and she has been with me too... but when hubby had accident... I informed her about it..she was super busy with her life too... and..obviously I did not have time to spend on friendship....I barely had time to breathe... as most of you well know
anyway... now that I do have time to breath..i am trying to contact her... and she is snubbing me... her feelings are hurt that I did not spend 2 hours on phone with her every other night for last 8 months
that's not right - how often did she call you during that time?
never.... I was never home tho
& i didn't know your hubby was in an accident - is he ok?
that doesn't matter - does she live close enough to come see you?
is she married?
he's getting better... u NEVER heard about accident?..OYVEY this was my life for last 8 months and babble was my "vent"
yea...but I was rarely even in town..hubby was in diff city for 3.5 months in hospital
i'm so sorry
married...grown kids
its ok nance..life moves on..and..as I said..old news
is her husband controlling?
nope...
i realize that, but you still need support & encouragement
well, i'm sorry you didn't get the support your need from your friend
Some people are not good dealing with catastrophic situations. And now she may be feeling guilty. Send her a card and tell her you miss her and miss her company.
*yo
lol *you
do you miss her?
yea..i do...but... i don't want to belittle how much her abcence hurt me... and to just " play nicey nicey" makes me feel I am
I guess you have to decide if you miss her enough to forgive her, or if you want to tell her how you feel and take your chances of not reconciling the situation.
hello everyone :))
pretty much...I have her on msn now..first time we have "talked" in MONTHS>.and she playing nicey nicey
if you miss her, just bite the bullet. i'm telling you this because in 1997 my best friend died. i stopped by her home a week earlier. I didn't kiss or hug her because i had some sort of bug - four days later, she was in intensive care & died within three days - boy do i ever miss her & the opportunity to have hugged and kissed her.

16 years later... :) and I must say, it's nice coming into a clean house that I didn't slave over....:) keeps hubby happier too (he's the neat freak in our duo)
see ya later montreal :)
bye mont!!
I keep thinking that I should give up my cleaner cause there's only the two of us at home but there are lots of other things I would give up first....
Bye mont
Mrp I keep meaning to do the same thing. You collect so much over the years and I guess if you haven't looked at something for about a decade, it should go.
no no no Jandy...don't do it
I am happy to say that 4 hours of housekeeping is going to be the best thing for me and my hubby... we are too busy/exhausted to do anything about it
Having surgery in two weeks, green, so an EXCELLENT reason to keep going for a while... say five or six years!
too right frances!
lol - but why the surgery?
and mrp, I'm not sure what you are recovering from, but I'm happy to hear you are on the mend!
Getting the girl bits removed....
ouchie darling... best of luck
Well, it's lovely chatting to you all, but I have just received a better offer, frankly, so I'm off to bed! Good night all!
well enjoy that Jandy (the bed part, not the surgery)...:)
Goodnight Jandy. Enjoy your better offer.
Thanks mrp... can't wait now the decision's made... can't keep on with the anaemia the way it is... I'm naturally pale but this is ridiculous!
Iwill, thanks girls! Good night!
For a minute I thought you meant a sex change LOL
Ye gods... think the better offer would be rescinded very quickly in that case... ROFL!
talking of girlie bits, I found out that the guy that is pregnant (5 months) is actually a transsexual who decided to keep his box... he and his wife got donated sperm and did a home insemination kit. It is amazing... he is post-operative, but kept (her) uterus
ooooh mrp I just read your profile...so sorry to hear what you've been thru!
I was just going to ask about that mrp... wondered if he had managed to impregnate himself.... and if it was good for him!
oh poor you jandy! anaemia is so hard!! I feel for you ((hugs))!
all he has had done (from what ive read) is had his breasts removed + taken testosterone... when they wanted a baby, he just stopped taking the testosterone...
Did you see the Oprah interview?
No Frances, do tell!
LO Jandy
LOL! yes, I saw the oprah interview... he is completely post operative... a 'woman' of sorts.
sorry - i forgot to say brb - when my brain is in need of a break, i play collapse
I have it on tivo Frances - haven't watched yet.... but will later today! feel free to share though!
Thanks mrp... it's such a boring, non glamourous thing
the game. i don't fall out of my chair. lol
wb nance
thanky
Jandy - go have fun!! :)
thanky? lol - thank you
Okay, really going in case better offer goes to sleep!!! Byeeeee....
I saw a snippet on the news and Oprah is asking questions but I love the expression on her face at the answers.
Jandy, it is a biggie!! I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery
night night jandy! sleep well
bye jandy
oh man... it is Saturday!! I best consider sleep too... another huge day of soccer to contend with
Goodnight again Jandy go and take advantage of the offer.
m's are done
frances, I suspect that Oprah wishes she was a transsexual...
80 to go
OOOOOOO mrp
oooh mr. p bite your tongue. That's my hero you are talking about!
I loooooooove Oprah - no joke...crazy obsession about her. I want to be Gayle, so I can be her best friend
What would her significant other have to say about that?
Since my brother in law has become one of her regulars I've gotten to "go" twice, but I'm dying to go and hang out with her!!
oh sorry! it just strikes me as odd... she is over the hill as far as having kids goes, but she has always wanted kids etc etc... I wish her the best
lol - I even crack myself up with this obsession!
oooh, I silenced chat - I'm THAT crazy! :)
yay - i finally saw the beer on the grid

I agree judi
Somebody call MENSA. I want a ruling on this.
it's not even CLOSE to the stooopidest word we've ever had
No point, Judi. Enable rules here.

J's, O's and U's. Ick.
any clues for sa6? don't have either of them
sa6 - both are the same save for the last vowel which changes. I'll need to think about a clue...
Don't have either, flosey.
The second sa6/24 - sa, reach down's opposite by means of a double consonant helping.
i'm back
The first sa6/21 - same structure, different vowel at the end.
thanks Haz, got them both
Hello ardilla.
Twisted, but I get it. Thanks, Haz.
that was too obscure for me!
You're welcome, flosey.
Twisted - that's me!
will have to check on the meaning of both - new to me
good news, the person that got into the cab after me returned my camera
altho I did just get one ;-0
It's A married Native American man. new word for me
sa, double helping of a consonant, opposite of down. (sa6/24) - the second one.
that's the one I got
trying to monkey the other one
yes, same meaning for both !
confused me when you said different "vowel" at the end
dunno if anyone here does any online shopping, but this site promotes lots of internet deals! http://www.bradsdeals.com/

Hello carlee and Bzzn. The gr4/7 is interesting.
BLZZZT!! (raspberry sound)
:op~~~~~~~~

Doesn't count if you don't know the word is there, right?
Right, good excuse Bzz
they call me for it all the time...so far I haven't dropped a word today tho :D
Ignorance of the law is no defence, but we'll be nice and pretend not to notice.
Give it time, Carlee.
ok..well..looked up my salmon recipe...gotta set my fillets to marinate...then..back to the bomb
Please, phaeton - at least drop one we can use.
no8 please
well, i thought it might be useful. None of the other letters in the gr4 are very useful
no8 - negative prefix, then one of 12 who sit in judgement.
help with mo7 please?
Thanks Haz
mo7 - French male possessive, a vowel and first part of President Reagan's name.
thanks Haz
You're welcome, bubba.
Haz to the rescue again. Gotta look that one up.
And mo8 is the plural, flosey.
mo7 think of a structure for someone else, like the Washington ****ment in DC + president reagan's first name
Feh. Chemical compound. No wonder I didn't know it.
wow, another word to look up meaning for
how many today, please?
ah, should have taken more chemistry!
There is a high percentage of new words today. Or maybe I'm jut not moving in the right circles.
152 words today, phaeton.
152
TY Haz
hi phae BB judi bubba
hi pms
i feel like i'm going in circles and getting nowhere :-)
hey ardilla, how ya doing?
cr5 after bad cough?
is there any way to change the fonts on Babble?
thanks for mo clue, bubba
hello
this is a hard grid - I don't feel like I know half the words!
hi mlf!
cr5 - switch round the vowels of the bad cough, finish with a consonant, such that the last two letters look like an alternative.
thanks Haz
You're welcome, flosey.
kje it always seems like most of the words in these grids to me arent even real but they generally are
another strange one
HI phae
Generally? You mean sometimes they aren't real?
I know they're real - it is just amazing how many words I don't know - and I think I'm way over educated - LOL
some are words we just don't hear in everyday chat
phae well at least, their hasnt been defnitions of words so who knows lol
OOH, OOH, less than 100 to go!
back after my trip through the gr4, aided by co7 amounts of coffee..
mlf, you think they are made up?
Hello Aloy. Was it a happy trip?
hi there Haz! Yes, some nice surprises along the way.. (-:
Did you find anything interesting Aloy?
no, not made up - just not in the vernacular
but sadly ouija must be a trade name
hi aloy mlf kje
phae sometimes yes or so it seems to me
hi ardilla

Phae?
well, then it was worth a trip to the PB!
yes MLF?
The chances are some of them will never be seen again. Still, it was certainly a puzzle that needed to be worked at.
there's pb in the PB today..
Phae did you find any of the big co words?
BBL.
hb judi
co7/32 mexican beers
co7/40..plentiful
co7/36..military rank..minus last letter

Hello stid, back pain is no joke.

oh stid, that's really tough
oooh - avoid that stid!~!!
Have you ever tried a TENS machine?
that's a really good question, phaeton -- I could boost that a little bit today!

good clues flying around in the chat...
Stid, i used to get muscle spasms all the time til i started taking those vitamins
i didnt know that was a mexican beer we had that same word in another grid not too long ago and i got it right away that time but not this time even though i htought i saw it this time

cr 5/14 - plural of spring bulb flower
ah, thanks Haz - asking because son has a lot of lower back pain
hm. might interfere with my programming, Haz...

tulip is not in the gr4!!
The co7/40 - one who is devout and attentive to religious things is p5/14 - incorporate it into the co word.
Has anyone seen Scarlet? Missing our silliness ! Haven't seen her in quite a while.
aloy, i was wondering the same thing earlier
Aloy - I know Scarlet has been having problems with time. One computer between her and husband...
I haven't seen her in the last few days Aloyisius -- but my schedule is so unpredictable.
But she is otherwise well enough, just concentrating on getting words rather than having time to chat.
aargh, I know how that is.. no time to chat.. need to send Scarlet a new laptop
if one can be "insipid" then wouldn't the opposite be "sipid?"
Haz i dont have the p 5/14 word
I've given a definition for pi5/14, does that not help?
Clue for the 1ST CO 4/6 please

the only CO 4 after the veggie is a 4/7: it's what the military does to overthrow a civilian government
any clues for the Third no 4/4?

what all the letters of the alphabet are except the first
there are only 2 no4/4s
JAYDE. take the second vowel out of the first no5...

I've got that one too
three words below the CO 7/40 is the "eared" veggie, MLF
do you have the one that sounds like Spelling
I need the one right abouve the man's name
that's the one she's an actress

Friday's my day off too, but I usually end up working on the weekends.
raining at the office here too.. and I assume home, since it's just a few clicks :)
ahh...I work part office part home
"day off" actually doesn't exist for me. I often bring stuff home with me.
Hey, Duck. How much snow do you still have
actually - me too autumn. I just like to trick myself into thinking Friday is the day. I own my own business. Defining actual work hours is hard.
what do you do mm? I'm planning to start my own business as well
hello again all -- I have fifteen minutes to play.
I teach Kindermusik. Music classes for infants through seven year olds. My website is in my bio

need help on the SA words please?
I'm trying to get down to 100 left so I can put the salad for dinner together.
op6/24 please?
going backwards thru the list now - lol - us are done!
Op6/24 - made from poppies.
It's a class of drugs.
The second sa6/24 is sa, a double helping of a consonant, and the opposite of down.
Sa6's. Definition is married male American Indian. That clue didn't help me any, but it may help you, Stid.
The first sa6 (sa6/21) is exactly the same, bar the vowel towards the end of the word.
Yeech. A pile of paperwork sits at my elbow. I'm done with the grid, so I really can't procrastinate any longer.
thx haz too - I got 'em both now!
You're welcome.
Judi - I'm in the same boat - but have NOT finished the grid, so I can stall! :)
Judi -congratulations/commiserations on finishing.

no plans other than Babbling, going to the gym, and watching UNC Tarheels win their game tomoorow!
we thought her bladder thing was cleared up, but it itsn't.
oh no! kittie can't peepee!
she's on meds, so she can at present. but she goes off for a few days and then she can't again!
years ago, the vet told me the cause of my female cat's continuous bladder infections was the DRY cat food (like Meow Mix)
i switched her to Tender Vittles and voila, no more peepee problems

oh scary
son came & took me to restaurant
aaww how sweet
I live about ¼mile from my little city's police station, so power outages for me are the shortest in town :)

about 20% weird, is my guess
these last couple of grids I have found to be kinda tough...
i'm missing mo 4/5 and 5/12 (before the early part of the day)
I can work with 20% weird
Hello Babble Family....
nm, found them!!
20% weird is ok but 22% -- to extreme

co 7/36 - latin bodies - bodies of data, etc.
**waves to Scrabbs** How is the Baby who was coughing blood Scrabbs ??
TY, Tyger
co*****l punishment
no4/4: no + a grain popular in Asia **ce
yw, scrabs
Hi Babble friends :)
The baby (3 mo old) looked fine and the puke tested positive for the mother's blood---the baby is breast feeding and sore nipples led to bleeding and the baby swallowed the blood then puked---not uncommon at all.
Hi MaMa
OWWWWWWWtch
how do you treat that??
hey, MaMa
well, i'll be, never heard of that at all, scrabbler
I nursed my son, so I can just imagine :shudder:
tyger, I'm not getting that no 4 clue - care to reclue?
Oh.... I know it sounds awful, but I am glad.... At least it wasn't the baby's blood.... Ouchies to the sore nipples though, I can only imagine, I couldnt breast feed....
hey scrabbler one of my little on es and mom went thru thrush it was worse for her than baaby girl
Moms can use a breast pump until the nipple cracks heal, and the mom can apply special creams to the nipples.
no4/4: no + hook + upright vowel
JBV, no + hook letter and 3rd vowel
almost a snap, aussie :D
thanks, tyger and aussie - I think I tried every possible combination but that one
baby will be 1 yr this month and they are still nursing.
=0) great minds though eh tyger ?
Much to their credit
Yes, a fungal (yeast) infection on mom's nipples (called thrush when in baby's mouth) can cause nipple soreness too.
right, aussie
u words pls
Congratulate her for me, Mama--I am so proud!
time for me to take a break, guys. gotta take pills & eat
back in 15-20 mins, I hope
The 2nd last cr5/14?
see you soon tyger!
ok tyger, see ya soon...
my son had thrush as a baby
my son had thrush as well
Thrush is quite common.
it was easy to treat
Me too scrabb, the grandma is a La Leche leader so Mom doesnt has much choice lol
My smurf did too.... and yet, I don't know why, I didn't breast feed....
yes, I learned that then... 20 years ago
cr 5/14 - cr + fl***ide in toothpaste
Thrush isn't just an occurrence in breast fed babies.
TY, JBV! I would not have figured that out, for sure.
My son didn't breast feed, and when he got it, the doctor basically said "it just happens sometimes"
No but is harder to get rid of when Mom is nursing, for baby , but if mom has it and baby nurses it helps mom heal
yes, scrabbler, that cr 5 is definitely among the strangest we've seen today
io5 next?
io _ nickname for richard

well, I've got it up to the go**- not sure how many letters you are cluing - the word has 6 letters
Huh, MaMa?
dawg!!!!!!!!!
hi dawger
LOL mama
hey scrabs, hey lind
lbdddddddd !!
yes monkey she does!!
You have to go_____?
No I dont have to yet but just trying tto clue lol
aaaauuuussssiiiieeee!
hi dawg, monkey is wearing x-ray glasses so be careful
didn't get the mo7 clue, any other clues?
try this--- sa+ hump + a wedding is called ***tuals
for a # 1 in the bathroom scrabs!!
hey, scrabs, how long does the stomach flu last?
*puts on iron chain mail*
MaMaWa - this is like the blind leading the blind - can I help you help me???
none of those sa clues are wokring
JBV did you get anything out of that mess?!!
scrabs, how's Ben?
what do you need jbv?
THANK YOU, pugmama! the fireworks are lovely and so were all those clues - the ones that worked and the ones that didn't
It could last hours to days, dawger---variable.
sa + double one hump letter +4th vowel + I need to go to the bathroom for a *ee...
sda + double cons. + not down
sa & double cons and not down
Yahoooo JBV
oops sa+...
oh i got it now
yeah JBV
YAY JBV !!!!!!
Okay think of the sun coming ** in the morn and down at night
Are those sa6 words made up?
how about a week? hubby has had gastro-intestinal issues all week.
snap pug!!
twisted minds think alike
WTG jbv
too true pug!!
i'm stuck in the PO hell
whoooo hoooooo JBV!!
Ben is a mystery---bone biopsy showed no malignancy so the lung tumors will need to be biopsied next.
is that post office monkey??
LOL
that is the first time that has happened to me in the 5 months I have been playing Babble - waiting so long for the final 2!!!
nope, scrabs - the sa6 words are 2 spellings of some New England Indian tribe's word for husband (just looked it up)
no, that's PO words, Lindy :)
dawger--load him with probiotics (yogurt or supplements). Is it the diarrhea that is persisting?
what do you need, lil*monkey?
well, scrabs, friends & I have been praying hard :)
have him eat some yogurt, dawger
scrabs, yes.
TY, tyger---the "Tumor Board" was having their weekly conference yesterday to discuss his case.
JBV, i need the 2nd po4,6, the 2nd po4,5 and the first po5,12
he's eating yogurt, rice, mashed taters and then a quick trip to the loo
only difference is 2 sa6 words is penultimate vowel
And, dawger, give him lots of starches too.
And make him drink lots of sports drinks too
why yogurt, may i ask?
i think Immodium liquid works great...
my privilege, scrabs. I don't mind if they're completely confused, so long as Ben gets better :)
hi feather
the immodium isn't working
penultimate is a smarty-pants word
feather, yogurt is full of PRObiotics
hi lindrick! i've been here off and on...
Yahhh Jbv and , I like the definition and the way it sounds if you say it to the husband, lol
did you try the liquid , dawger (not th epills)
Hi Feather. yougurt has the organisms in it to help fight the yucky stuff.
right....aaaaand probiotics do what?
well, it's shorter than saying next to last, isn't it? :D
Yogurt has active bacterial cultures = probiotics = healthy bacteria that aid the small bowel in digestion.
mo7 clue?
oh wait, the opposite of antibiotics i wonder?
feather, your digestive system needs probiotics to break down and eliminate food correctly
YES feather
not eggzacly, feather ;)
gotcha now! ty
will push more on the yog and starches, would pepto help?
Viral infections and antibiotics wipe out the healthy gut bacteria so probiotics replenish them
mmm digestion my favorite topic
Scrabbs Im glad to hear update on Ben also,
I stay away from the meds--no Immodium or PeptoBismol for me.
LOL ak
can i give nick yogurt yet? i forget when i introduced it for daniel
shall we discuss hemorrhoids now ?
oh yes lets
i could get into a diaper contents dissection if you'd all like!
it's odd, he hasn't run a fever or anything, just very loud digestive noises!
oh goodie
And I saw Mary today--she is now walking without the walker--but grabbing the walls and furniture to balance---making progress! She will have a MRI tomorrow.
Oh, what a pile !!
LOL
still praying for her, too, scrabs :)
*groooooan*
groan aussie
groan aussie
yay mary!
good for Mary!
choke, gasp, aussie!
=0)
Yes, you may, Feather--kiddie type or what we eat. I buy plain yogurt and add my own stuff, such as fruit and nuts and cereal.

yahhhoooo Jandy!
Thanks guys... you are the masters of positive reinforcement!
oh cool Jandy
25 dawg!!
Surgery, Jandy? On my birthday??
so a month before me then Jandy
go, Lind, go!
cheers dawg!
Yeah, I had to cancel my holiday anyway, so asked them to bring it forward! Will have a weeks break at the local coast before then.
That's my grandson's birthday too!
Oh, Jac... I didn't know!! Hope I can still send flowers!
you will be able to tell me how horrid it is then Jandy
aaww that will be nice Jandy
LOL, Lind... I think you've got the best deal on this one.... I like the sound of your surgeon's approach!!!
Jac I am having my surgery on my parents 50th wedding anniversary!!
Good heavens Lind... that sucks! As the kids would say...
well if it goes ok i guess!! not much of a choice really, either way is horrid!! LOL
sis msn
they don't care they will celebrate later when i am better!!
Is this a hysterectomy?
not going to ask what kind of surgery, just wish you a speedy recovery.
yep jac
LOL dawg!!
It is, Jac... open for me! But ready now cause I can't continue on this way and we've tried hard to avoid it, so I am looking forward to feeling really well afterward.
Thought so, fromchats I saw before. Good luck with that. I'm still holding out against that one in case I 'need all my bits' once I 'go'. Daft! I know!
I am also having corrective surgery so i should feel much better afterwards, hopefully
LOL, I would like to keep mine but they appear to have gone mental. So I will now be happy to part with them!
Good luck to both of you. xx
LOL i wanted rid of mine when i was 25 after my 3rd baby!!!
lol, jandy, at least you can laugh at the problem.
thanks jac
Right, off to make myself respectable for the nuptials.. lovely sunny day for an outdoor wedding, so it should be lovely.
how long is your surgery Jandy?
(((LIND))) and (((JANDY)))
What I need right now is a central heating engineer to fix my thermostat. I won't keep having hot flushes/flashes then.
aaww you lot are so sweet! (:
It will be over in half an hour or so, Lind... by far the quickest operation, but a longer recovery...
jac, i read somewhere, that green tea is suppose to help turn off the hot flashes.
cool, mine is 3.5 hours ):
Thanks all.. you are so sweet. Now I am POOFED off into the shower!
waking up swimming in sweat is alweays such a treat isn't it?
I know know why 'old ladies' either have short hair or wear it up in a bun... keeping your hair off the back of your neck helps immensely in stopping the inner heat.
Sigh... back to the keeping the ovaries or not argument. today, I'm keeping them! Really off now but Lind, will talk again before then!
I'm not looking forward to any of this....
yeah, but when the flashes hit...it doesn't matter what you're wearing or not wearing...
good luck if i don't catch you before
Not that wearing my hair up is a problem here, my Beloved seems to love the sight of the back of my neck (not with an axe in his hand)... fade..... LOL
LOL
goodness, jac! i sure hope you don't do the short hair manuever on your beloved...he might try to retaliate.
Nat, it's not all that bad. you do learn to cope with it...one way or another.
lbd -last time I cut my hair really short was when my husband of 20 or so years b*ggered off. But I do have a radical hair prune every 5 years of so anyway.
makes sense--much like the rest of life, I suppose.
Nat - life makes complete sense at times and no sense at others. I guess that's the way it's meant to be.
I had really long hair and now it's quite short...about 1 1/2 inches long all over.
oh, I hear you there Jac. I've had my share of the making sense and not making sense. LOL.
Anway, good luck to the ladies going for the womb tomb.
i think menopause is something you can at least recognize and blame for all the nutsy things your body goes thru, and makes you so mental.
thanks jac
yes, good luck.
thanks nat
6 weeks & 5 days to go!!
just think in 7 weeks, you'll be feeling so much better...or maybe make that 8 weeks.
I had my hair tied back in a pony tail and pinned up in a quite complicated but fashionably messy fashion for most of the day. However, when I backed up against our key keeper to watch TV whilst smoking a cigarette by the back door, I got my put up hair caught in the key hooks TWICE and had to be extricated by Other Half. LOL
that is what i am living for dawg!
When he went to bed I let hair down into a simple pony tail.
aawww poor jac
lol, and also feeling for you jac
could one of you clue the di6, please?

having admitted I'm tired, I can no longer hold my eyes open. I'll see you all later.
I was once ready to let my womb and ovaries go.. but my would-be surgeon went and died of a heart attack. Life is so strange... I'd got a womens' mag editor all lined up to take all my stories after we'd met at a writers' conference, and I'd congratulated him on the series of articles about he and his wife losing weight tothether (though Ian, a Scot, drank whisky like it was going out of fashion) and then he bloody well died on me.
nanight nat

Good for you, Lindrick. What my old, now retured, but much-loved, GP said to me about that was, 'We might as well whip those at at same time because you could get ovarian cancer and the symptoms never show up until it is too late.
That was a proper GP who knew me and my life and so I know he spoke the truth.
welp, numbers is on soonly, and i gotta go make my popcorn, even if hubby can't eat any with me. see you all tomorrow
they think it's best to keep them now jac then you don't hit menopause immediately and lots of other reasons
bye dawg cya tomorrow
Incidentally, he may be retired, but he's only 61.
LOL
He decided to retire due to al the younger partners he's been forced to take on in this new big practice thing moaning at him for not being computer savvy. Best laugh for me was his original young partner, now the senior partner, airily telling me he could book me an appointment on line...
LOL
After several attempts to do that... plus mutterings... he almost exploded and was about, so he said and indicated, to throw the pc out of the window. I calmed him down.
Oh goodness! Isn't the doctor supposed to make ME feel better? LOL
hahaha
you are so funny!!
Thanks! But it's not really me, just what life throws.
yeah i guess
All I do is commentate.
very well commentated!!
Which is why I was once a writer and will get back to it seriously eventuallu.
Thanks, Lindrick.
yw jac
oh i am fed up with this puzzle!! LOL
hi friends
Thanks again. I must start thinking about what to burble about on my blog soon.
Hi, Ping.
hi ping, how ya doin?
you have a blog, jac?
hi lindrick - recovering from a cold - and you?
Lind - do you still need clues? If so, you should have asked and not let me whitter on...
no i am just struggling on thanks jac
only 7 to go, just slow going!!
i have 97 to go!
i'm good thanks ping, how you feel better soon
LOL
Ping - I have a blog with a title but it's not a blog... yet. I opened it in order to be able to comment on Babbler Hydra's blog. It's so log since I've written in any 'serious'' way, that I guess I'm a bit scared of writing now.
is babbler hydra a.k.a. babbler?
ty lin
No, Ping.
oh you should go for it jac, i enjoy your chat, you write very eloquently (excuse spelling!!)
i don't think i know him/her
she's a pro writer, did you know, lin?
yes ping
you know everybody, lin!
that's cos i chat so very much!!
this puzzle is tough
Lind - that's what all my friends used to say before I got into Babble. I'd handwrite, or sometimes pc type, 20 A$ page letters. I'd think to myself, 'why on earth would anyone want to receive all that ?' So I stopped doing it and then the postwoman was staggering( well not, really, but she did comment) when they all wrote back to say how they had routines to read my monthly letters... how they got all cosy and got coffee or tea, feet up, kids caged or away, etc., and then prepared to enjoy my letter. They were so disappointed when I started sending shorter ones.
yes it certainly is
hi everyone :) ((hugs))
go for it jac, you can do it
hi !
hi mr p
hey Mrpres.. hows the clean house? ;-)
Hi , MrP. How are you doing?

got busy with stuff, then had to rewatch the major crash during the NASCAR qualifying today
oh i just hate men like that jac
I do know that's not true now, but it's a hard habit to kick.
i had a brother in law just like that
yeah it is difficult
Be glad you didn't have a hubby like that, Lind. My bro in law was same... his wife almost died trying to starve herself to death. (As did me and myy exe's daughter, as you know.)
