my grandson's gf works in a pet shop and is about to quit -- he says the acquisition of pet fish is horrendous: "All saltwater fish are caught using a process in which they spray cyanide into coral reefs causing all the fish living in them to float out and shortening their overall lifespan by years, often killing a large number of non-pettable sea-life in the process not to mention the reef itself."

hi nance. Just wanted to wish you good luck and let you know i've been through the whole biopsy thing, and though one can't help be scared (or at least I couldn't), the odds are much greater that it will be fluid or something totally benign.
it went very well, MonkeyG. He decided to make a final report (meaning I don't have to come back) for the WAO doctor, in which he has stated that I should get a full benefit, that going back to work would be very ha4ful for me and is totally not indicated. He was as helpful as he could possibly be.

Just overuse, Nan. My left shoulder has not been right for about 2 years now. I don't have complete range of motion. Did pt and it got mostly better but not completely, and then got a cortisone shot and it was amazing. was getting worse again, asked for another one this time it got worse instead of better. So started PT again.

nance-learning how to deal with these bodily challenges is such a hard thing....but inescapable for most of us, and I am bound and determined to learn, slowly but surely, to be less frightened by it all. It sounds like maybe you are on your way. Or at least a temporary respite. Numbness isn't always a bad thing. Can be nature's way of protecting us. This o modern health/big pharma system of ours certainly doesn't help with the constant barrage of ads and warnings and tests to make you feel that there must be something fatally wrong with every part of us!

Yeah, this soup is pork tenderloin and broccoli and eggs with sugarsnap peas and forest oyster mushrooms, all sauteed and then simmered with chinkiang vinegar, dark soy sauce, and chili/ garlic paste. And stuff.
you name it ... crohn's, diabetes, blood disorders, chronic ostemyelitis of the jaw, her jaws are basically crumbling, a mastectomy wound that's been open and unhealed for over 3 years now, further sinuses appearing at regular intervals, now a big hole in her arm where the skin won't take stitches. among others.
sounds like its loaded with flavor!

oh scrabs, you'll like this latest conundrum about sister. She had a drip a few weeks ago of mainly zinc and a few other bits and bobs. Overnight drip. And after the drip her zinc levels were exactly the same as before. nearly absolutely zero.

i woke up at 430am this morning - hubby was going in & out the door waking me up- a couple in our apartment complex were having a yelling match outside - i didn't hear it at first - hubby (by the way, his name is zane. i hate saying hubby - lol) zane asked the man if all was ok - two minutes later they were at it again. i guess they were getting physical & he came in and called the police - by the time they arrived, the couple was gone.
Carlee, my Callie rallied and surprised me. For a few days I was thinking what day and time would be best (for me) to have her euthanized. I hate those decisions with pets. But I made her eat, gave her medicine and she is doing well for an old bunny.

I am not a fan of any medication for infants Atalante...I get so worried when they are sick.
Long-term use of steroids can cause problems, but short-term is OK, with minor side-effects, although it can make some kids go bonkers.
I took her outside yesterday for some sunshine and fresh air. I am hoping this will help some. I know it does wonders for me.

she seems to have a nice personality, she was a horse that pulled the a sulky, not a saddle race horse. she had leg problems and was costing owner more in fees and maintenance than he was willing to spend so he gave her to my sister who has always wanted a horse. they are slowly saddle training her, but she will nevver race again
My friend has a bunch of horses like that...variety of things wrong, but very sweet horses, all except the baby who keeps running her over...

If I can offer another perspective - from the point of view of one who has been interviewing candidates for a position, I think follow up phone calls or emails do not hurt at all

i have another question for you then, JBV, you handy person who has interviewed people - when you are writing a cover letter or a follow up letter, how much do you say? i always hear "keep it brief" but then i think, if i don't say much, then they don't find out much about me.
well, your resume should have most of the basic facts,so the cover letter should be a more personal touch about why you want to work for that particular organization, etc.
a follow up letter is a little different because you have already had the interview, I guess. so it should just say thank you and I am looking forward to hearing from you, etc.
is it ok to explain anticipated questions - like tell them what kind of a timeframe you are working with, so they know if it meshes well with theirs?
no, i mean, i wrote a follow up email, even though they haven't contacted me at all yet.

it's just hard with these admin assistant positions - they are the sort of thing that tons of people apply for and it's the sort of thing that it can be really hard for the employer to tell if you'll be good beforehand, because anyone can say they are organized and efficient and stuff
i did call and i spoke to the receptionist but she said she did not know anything and asked if i wanted to leave a voicemail, which i did.
