mlf, as you know, when you first start babbling you get the tiles below the grid, but after two weeks they disappear. If you go pro for $15 just once, you get them back, along with how many words in the grid etc.

Actually I get to fly one way to Tasmania because we are using his van - can;t afford the cost of putting the trailer on the ferry so have to take less gear. My husband and I rolled our car in outback NSW on the way to Brisbane Road covered in ice) and had to buy a bomb to get us home. Have to sort out the insurance now.

Yeah - S*** happens apparently but we are both OK so that's the main thing. The ferry is $63 for the van and would be another $1000 for the trailer plus the personal fares. The cost of fuel is killing us this year - about $2500 per trip east.

"math" is fun. theory behind math is hard... it hasn't been my favorite subject since 5th grade though when a teacher thought "long division" was advanced math -- I think she just didn't really want to teach the upper-level class and took it out on us.
hmmm.... ok...i always loved the theory... I was one of those that never memorized formula...I just always went back to first principals..and get my equations for exams that way

For teh curious, after many, many minutes on the phone with my insurer, talking to four departments, they tracked down that IF one gets this heart monitor through the family practitioner with the form I have, then it is not so much that they insure ME for it: it is covered by the Hartstichting (Heart Society), and THEY get the money back from my insurer. So I am definitely covered. To cap that off nicely, they gave me an appointment for tomorrow at 13:30 to get the machine. I also checked with some online resources, and yes, the thing DOES save the several seconds of heart rhythm occurring just BEFORE I hit the button, which is good because my "event" is normally quite brief.
And I need to go put dinner on now. Have fun folks!

we used to turn the finished puzzle upside down and spread some elmers wood glue all over it and use a cardboard backing

photosize is relative to screen, a nice digital camera takes a very huge picture that you may not realize when you view it and the viewing program autoshrinks to screen

I recently had to check back on old school photos, since I met a friend from infant school recently. There were just two black people in our entire village school and they were sisters who had a Welsh father and a Jamaican mother.

good, jac. When I was 8 it was 1935 and things were different in the USA, and in China we Didn't Mix. The feeling was mutual, I think -- although my father worked for the Chinese Postal Bank and there was mutual respect, he was never invited to a Chinese home, and vice versa. But here were numerous banquests and invitations to Chinese Operas (which bored him rigid for 3 hours or so)
I can remember some pretty racial comments at home. Funny how the Cuban neighbors felt the same way us whiteys did

My mother in law was involved in a car accident as a pedestrian a little over a month ago, subsequently lost her leg and is now in a rehab facility in our town... so I am still working, taking care of my kid and house and husband, and now taking care of her... it's been a little nutty!
