I made my first one over 20 years ago and made only one for my daughter, then about 2 years ago I was mucking about on craigslist and saw a kit for sell, so I though what the heck I am going to buy it and make one for me, and that led to another and another
well it's pretty obvious it's a labor of love for you
I dont have pictures of that one yet as it is not complete but I can link you to one that is finished it is going to be my masterpiece
oh please do I'd love to see it
sorry back in a bit i have physical fi9ghting going on here between the boys and gotta go sort them out
ok later kiwi (ref)
I just love that ladies work she is so awesome here is the link, http://tinyurl.com/55qoxu
thanks
I am doing mine in shades of lavender where hers is using close to the same shading as her
I just took a look. That is truly amazing!
that one is huge
I book marked it so I can read all about it later
I am 5'10 and the roof top comes to just above my waist
will you make all the furniture or buy some and make some from kits?
I am making some and buying some it will be victorian as close to orginal looking as I can get
that's big all right
I have made some hats and other stuff crocheted stuff etc that will go into it and made food dishes and what not from fimo clay
there used to be a store in Maine that sold doll house furniture but it's gone now they had some amazing things and amazing prices
I am trying to make a chaise but its not going so well, LOL
yes some people pay up to 500.00 for one piece of furnituer *faints*
that will be perfect for that house
all velvet and tufted?
not so much tufted but yes velvet I found a childs christmas dress at the good will that is a beautiful forest green that I am going to use for the covering and also going to use the same material for curtains and a chair cover for a vanity
green velvet is my favorite
and it has a lot of lace I can recycle into other things as well, victorans like their lace and velvet that is for sure
good idea to use that for curtains too
Has the 9 been called?
rids
I thought about a bedspread as well but I think it would be too much so perhaps a bolster pillow on the bed with the bed some kind of mixed colors with the green in it
oops sorry
wa 9 hugs
wa9 hug
that's going to be so posh hope you will post pictures of it when it's all done
thanks
yes please mel cant wait to see it
well if we are still here in about 20 years LOL no I think it will be close to done around Christmas
I have a friend who has knitted miniature things with silk thread and thin wire "needles" and they have the same number of stitches and rows as full size clothes. She has a doll house to put them in, and furniture too -- but not a house like that one!
then you can decorate it for the holidays
I am working on a gardening store for my daughters birthday it is so fun to do making all the little plants and stuff
is the 9 a compound?
I crocheted a few things but it makes my eyes ache so tiny work
oh jilli, I met her through the knitting group once, at her home, saw her wonderful work, it's amazing
hi ruru
I got it
thanks
its a battle to find ruru
HI Lobo
brussells city
my husband built a doll house from a kit for our 3rd daughter and we made some furniture from kits and I had a pattern for some things but it was no where near as elaborate as that the granddaughters played with it and nearly wrecked it so we got Play Mobil for them
yay ruru lol
belgian, i mean
it always looks like your name is in the grid so it is safer to use lobo
didn't know you knat, flosey, lol!
lol, use to jill
this is one of the most amazing dollhouses I have seen, bookmark it as you will be there awhile: http://tinyurl.com/5oxvka
mostly enjoyed knitting heavy sweaters
flosey lucky for that plural!!! lol
for the fishermen on the island flosey? lol
oopsy
never did one of those west
what do you mean nby "did"
sorry, never knit one of those
prob meant knit a fisherman's sweater
ty Dan
lol
didn't want him to start thinking ala conan o'brien meaning
there is a 10 letter one uh oh
I was thinking of the Irish sweaters where they could tell where a washed up fisherman was from by the pattern
di 10
I had not heard that west, but there were many interesting patterns
any clues on the di 10 my brain hurts :)
grandmother made loads of them; mom does occassionally
sort of like their ID
never had time to learn to swim
sorry gotta run kierans gone and run away and its dark outside and i gotta go find him
one of ours accidentally went in the dryer
oooh, big wool no no
I had knit a shawl for my mother from iclandic yarn, (very thin) and a very intricate pattern, when she died I asked if I could have it back, unfortunately it had already been given to the nursing home
patience & lots of water pulling can sometimes remedy, but not always
it was rather tiny when it came out lol
good for a doll then
that's too bad flosey..at least it will be keeping someone else warm
ok kiwi hope it sorts its self out hugs
ndan pb please
that's about right ndan
oh west, a friend staying with us for a while thought he'd help by doing the washing/drying - shrank my favourite sweater and had the nerve to laugh
I knitted a lacy blanket/shawl for my baby son -- someone stole it out of his pram
oh jill, how horrible
I thought so
that is jilli and shame on your friend flosey
phantom: Terrorist

<< ruru bows in the greatness of lobo>>
i found this grid so easy peasy
lore is finished
no ruru it was simple
wow you people finish thats awesome
peasy has nothing to do with it...
do they ever reveal the answers?
lol ruru peasy goes with easy !!
firewords or fireworks when you finish you get to see a little video of them
the only odd one was ri5/20
nice that YOU found it easy, lore. Some of us are Dull Normals.
off to get a tea bbs for any clues
you mean you were familiar with all 11 J words, lore?
well here's a very dull normal
uh yes jilli..she found them to be easy peasy
that is, if I can claim 'normal'
lalala, you only get the video if you're using BabbleExpert
ohno I am too poor for that but regardless I don't think I will ever finish one
i dont pay and i get fireworks when i finish
the ri is a spanish wine
Expert is not the same as going pro
ty ndan
tried it without the i
gordon, that will stop after two weeks -- you will also lose the tiles under the grid and how many words there are.
haha, got the spanish wine -- that's the one lore found weird?
isnt the ri spanish wine not tech an english word
not all words are technically english
lalala theer are lots of non-english words here at times
i know. i've been playing for years... i just get a new name every 2 weeks
english adopts so many things, esp foods
some work and some don't
ya. one of the j's is spanish too...
my spanish is obviously not that good
jamon didnt work thats spanish for ham i knew that one grrr
jambon?
some spanish words are okay, some are not. ditto french etc etc. No consistency.
jambon is french
so much harder
oh

Still now work... but I'm getting tons accomplished at home that fell to the wayside while I was putting in all those OT hrs
mr bean
*no (not now)
great huga glad you are stayig positive and something will turn up believe me i am in exactly the same boat
ooops thats meant to be staying lol
those words CAN be spelt with an A -- different meaning
ones a tree and ones a grass
the grass one was not familiar to me
the a one is the tree... also the name of one of the main characters in Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches
morning all
I really enjoyed reading that series
Morning Srite
and mr bean, as lore said, lol
hi sprite
hi Sprite
how's the grid today?
that's right
lore says easy peasy but I disagree-sy
lol
well, I'm off... have a great day or sleep well (which ever is appropriate)
bye Hugs
It's on the easier side sprite... IMO
don't we have some babble rool about soundalike words?
thanks, I am usually on the Hugs and lobo side.
I would think so, sprite
I'm not seeing words at all now, with 88 left
well jilli, this is not meant unkind, but at this time of day you are probably having trouble looking ;) Isn't it dream time?
you're right, sprite (rhymed again)
lol, when I see you come in at this time sprite, I know I should be in bed
lol @ the rhyming
hehehe flosey. But you know that I am happy when you aren't!
so will say goodnight all, be back in the morning
sleep well, flosey, and happy dreams
night, flosey (I won't be back in the morning -- well, not early anyway)
very sweet sprite - maybe you'll be in when I come back
lol jilli - at the rate I'm waking myself with cough, can't say when I'll be back
hope the antibiotic will help tonight, flosey
should kick in soon, I hope
don't remember ever having them before
jilli, I love your icone story!
thanks, sprite :)
great story jilli - sorry, I'm one who just remembers the name
would be great if they'd bring some of it back
oh, there are a 9 and 10! Had not even seen yet. I like big biggies.
sounds like something I would love, jilli.
wa 8 + 9; di 6 + 10
thanks nDan, but I just started, am not ready for biggie clues yet :)
15 left and stuck as stuck can be
ty nDan, for poking my memory
poor mel. So close though... how about something to drink and a short break?
just took a break lol but perhaps I need to quit staring at the grid for a bit
I need to make breakfast soon. I shouldn't start playing before making it, sigh, but hey, who am I kidding.
breaks are good
so are breakfasts
they usually help me. Both breaks and breakfasts.
80 left now
yay jilli, go go gooo!
I only need 119 :D
but you just got here, sprite ;)
yeah, first bunch go fast. Then: brick wall. After that, patiently pecking away until second wind starts. And then a whole lot less patiently pecking at the last few :)
sprite, I hoope you like J words -- there are 11 of them
as long as there aren't Ks, I am happy. Not very good at J words though.
Hello jilli and sprite What a nice grid for a Monday morning, well so far at least.
hi FMitch! Good to see you.
hi FM!
js aren't too bad although I still have 3 to find, lots of common babblets smatterd through the grid too
How are you both?
I found 4 so far.
jumping jehosephat, I'm jammed with just 5 Js
I am pretty ok. Finished a very tough letter to my father yesterday. Will let it lie for a couple of days, reread it and then send it. End of a huge chapter.
lol jilli :D With you being Jilly, they should run to you
I bet it will be a huge relief
but you see, I'm really a Gillian
yes, just finishing has taken away a lot of tension already.
lol jilli The letter probably exorcised a lot of feelings sprite.
aha! That explains it. Gillibus in hiding :D
well, it must have the Js all confused
yes, I think so too, FMitch. And sending it will do the rest. I finally make a real stand for myself. Not too soon, at 42.
aksljdioquweroiquerqioweu there I feel better now
roflol mel
ha ha meliae
? mel?
btw, FM & sprite, mel has gone pro and you should see her pix!
I knew about the prodom, but woooot @ the doll houses!
re 6/21 *cry* *bash face on keyboard* cry some more LOLOLOL
congrats on going pro mel and what sprite just said :)
thank you very much
now now now, mel, easy on the face. You might need it later. How about repartner?
down to 5
gogogo mel!
5!!!! I still have 60 to find
ok, 8 Js. Not too bad
72 here now, but it's bedtime. Tomorrow evening is bridge and it's supposed to be a gorgeous warm day so I may not spend it sitting in front of the computer.
jilli, even though I always miss you when we don
'meet, I wish you a gorgeous day and love your being able to enjoy life away from a keyboard :D Sleep well.
Oh my, I've just realised my 3 year babble anniversary is on Friday!
*needs to aim at the ' a lot better.
wow FMitch!
nini Jilli Sweet dreams
happy anniversay, FM!
Night jilli
and *poof*
Doorbell, bbl
ok one left the re 6/21...........breaks down and ask meekly for a clue
I told you earlier, sweetie. Repartner. Think animal partner.
hi sprite and ty for meli's clue
hiya west :D
asdlkfjalskfjdlkasfjaskfjask oh hit me with a BIG fish lol
I just remembered I had to pay a fine or go to court
*giggels* Here, a guppy. That is the best I can do.
all done
ohoh west... and now? Too late for payment?
eeek West
congrats to mel!!!!!!!!! Well done!
Yay meli!!
thank you
my sister in law was visiting from Michigan and was packing up the car to go home...we forgot it was street sweeping day so she got a ticket. I told her I'd pay it and then I forgot..court date is the 12th so I got it in the mail on time whew!!
darn, not funny. Do you have to pay more now?
no it only triples if the check isn't there by the court date
whew indeed then. Glad you made it.
we have a very small driveway so she had to park on the street...I wonder if they would have a warrant out for her arrest if I didn't pay it lol
lol
well if you didnt like her, that would be one way to get rid of her for awhile LOL just kidding
mel, if you ever need inspiration to do a new dollhouse, you can always build us a penalty box :D
I like that one...it's the other one I'm not so sure about
hmmm I have a kit of a small house in the closet
it must have delicious snacks
and a little doll that looks like kiwi
oh yes. And a jacuzzi. And and and and and....
snacks I am good at making from fimo clay lol
Back. lol that reminds me of the PB and the old days of the custard jacuzzi
you know that one dog food that the kibbles look like tiny little steaks? I covered some of them with clear varnish and they made the most adorable little steaks for my sons fishing shack
I still miss your sin bin, FMitch. It was brilliant.
sounds sticky fm lol
how cute meli
I've put the pics back up sprite
thanks FMitch! *hug* mel, that is so smart. I like creative minds like yours and FMitch's.
let me go poke around in my pictures I think I have some on this computer of me Big house I am working on remember it is not complete yet
got all the Js, yay me.
yay you is right sprite..still need 2 here
Yay you! and I had better start looking for words again then
I really must make breakfast now, back in a few minutes. I am starving.
eat hearty sprite
.... and I have found the wall and run smack bang into it *ouch*
back, without breakfast... hubby just came back from company doctor and is baking me some croissants now :)
yum yum :)
*... I was defeated, you won the war...*
Abba?
yup. And a clue :D
*looks blankly at the grid* but saves clue for later when it will probably be needed
you will be fine. As an experienced babbler, you know that even the brick wall will pass ;)
***lobs a pillow at FM whilst Haz isn't here to maintain order*** G'd morning Babblers!
lol, I have managed to clamber over it and now have 47 and all the biggies. Pillow much more preferable to the usual spitball ((Lori))
hiya Lori! *takes next pillow out of Lori's hands and reminds her sprite is still here8
Aww, killjoy! ***looks for other potential weapons***
yayyy FMitch!
Ho ya doing Lori?
Bot bad, same old same old, and you? Stayin' outta' trouble? :p
*hands Lori a delicious drink and something good to eat* So, hands full, no longer a handful.
Bot? *not even.....
btw you are in the grid but not valid. I must have words with enable! I get into less trouble when Haz and Ata aren't here, strange isn't it :))
LOL sprite
lol, sprite. Hmm, methinks there may be a connection FM
*lip trembles, I miss themmmmm sooooo*
I haven't been valid for years FM.....
ok I put up what I had of the big house onto flikr
now now, don't cry, they will be here soon enough...
*runs off to look at mel's pics*
You must be strong FM. ***hands FM lifesize pics of ATa and Haz to keep the faith***
Thanks Lori but youve got the heads on the wrong bodies somehow
mel, I love them! Quite an enterprise, isn't it!
That IS a big house mel!
its huge lol
here I have a link to one like that, only it is complete
*lets FM know that neither Ata's body nor Haz's is wrong*
but but thats not what I meant honest
here is the front all done mine will be shades of lavender, http://tinyurl.com/5f782l
must reboot, back in a minute
heh heh heh
Bottom 5 letters greyed. A mere 164 to go......
mel, click on my icon to see a new one I have just put up of an emproidery I am working on at the moment - spooky coincidence or what!
wow that is beautiful
Thanks, how funny we are both working on Fan Fransisco houses
*San
heh heh heh
back
ok I am looking at your penalty box picture and I think I can do that as a dollhouse
but what to do with it when I am done, LOL
beautiful, FM!
That would be a hoot!
sell it to the highest babble bidder, mel :)
Thanks sprite.
it would be what is called a room box I think and not a real house
Finally, 1 x 8 , there is hope for me yet
I thought you had all the biggies?
no, didnt have any of them
I will have to mull it over, knowing me I will get inspiration in the middle of the night and off I will go to build it LOL
you told us yourself! quote: FMitch lol, I have managed to clamber over it and now have 47 and all the biggies.
heh heh heh got the 10. Babble being Babble, always try stoopid word extensions....
Doh must have been wishful thinking I meant 'none', sigh
*giggles*
I am thinking the Jacuzzi might be fun to build have not attempted one of those yet lol
if you ever do, I will be proud I gave you the idea, mel :)
The creative seeds have been planted in mels brain, I can hear it whirring from here!
trying to think where I can get a tiny little monkey LOL
everything else I have or I can make
toy's shop, some zoo packages have them.
yes that is what I was thinking too
or put up a post here and see if some babbler has a tiny monkey to spare
my grandson just might be getting a package of zoo animals minus the monkey
lol mel
I shall call it the Babblehouse PB LOL

nice grid, except for the or biggie.
movie have you seen Dark Knight yet?
Certainly have sprite, and bloody good it was too
Sprite, thats good to hear as of yet, I have one word, ( not the Or:) so need to concentrate.
hello Movie Man, sorry did not see you arrive.
wonderful! I want to go with hubby, this week. We havve no kids around, they are at scouting camp :)
How lovely Sprite, time alone and with Hubs, where is he going ?
Some parents in Britain have been complaining though about the certificate it has been given (12A), saying that certain scenes are too gruesome
to the dark knight :) Oh movie, it plays on Imax! Worth it?
in the netherlands it is 16+ and they are actually checking.
I agree, it should have been a 15 over here
I have not seen the film, but if scenes are violent perhaps it should be rated higher.
movie, is it worth seeing on IMAX?
at 12 children could go on their own, and sadly i know of parent who would allow this .
Probably, I wish I could, but my nearest IMAX is in London......*sigh*
ok, am going to ask hubby. If he wants, we go tonight :) to the IMAX. Last IMAX I saw was Independence Day. WOrth every single penny.
I just wish I could see 2001: a Space Odyssey on IMAX
is the or 6/18 -talk, linked to the or 8 ?
my love wants to go too. Am going to buy tickets online now.
it is, elder, but it has a weird ending. Make it sound like a state of the US.
Ok thanks, will seek:.
Just filled in an online form on the Empire Online site voting for my top 10 movies of all time...... And the list consists of.......
1 Sin City 2 Pan's Labyrinth 3 The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 4 Hot Fuzz 5 Transformers 6 Kill Bill Vol. 1 7 An American Werewolf in London 8 The Dark Knight 9 The Fly 10 V For Vendetta
got it, thought it would take ages .. as there are so many states. thank you:)
yvw elder :)
Movie Man with the exception of seeing a bit of 'Werewolf' in London, on TV, I have not seen any of th films on your list.
movie, nice list. Why The FLy? Special effects?
I haven't seen Hot Fuzz. All the rest I have seen, though not all in the cinema.
Special effects, AND a damn good performance from Jeff Goldblum
true. I didn't think much of the story, but you are right about Jeff.
LoriP.. you still there ? as your awfully quiet:)
I can occasionally be quiet..... :D Still likin' the first sweep elder

Same here, sprite, and don't forget to report back with your verdict
just got the wa 8/9. now the song is bouncing around in my brain, as if I do not have enough fuzz in there already.
I will, movie, and thanks!
it is a nice song though
Its ok but not not my favourite.
nor mine, but it is probably better than most of the fuzz in your brain :) Perhaps it can silence a bit of the worries.
Very true Sprite ::)
Next on my cinema agenda will be Hellboy 2: the Golden Army
ok, I am really off now. Big *hug* and have a good time, all.
Seeya, sprite, and enjoy

hello wild
Wild, so now the game has turned for you to an addiction :)
hello Pink ::)
hello elder *hug*s
Pink, You and little one still doing good ?
I don't think it as an addiction.... I think of it as a way for me to learn words for scrabble
Wild, yes others say that :) LOL
lol wink
Pink, are you going back to uni/college in September to complete your degree.
we are doing well elder, life is pretty good at the mo...how has life been treating you?

its a very good puzzle today :)
hello mr president how have you been?
Pink am ok, still not able to drive and concentrate for long periods due to back/meds , but hoping, in the next month or so to be able to stop meds and return to work. But I need to be able to focus clearly to do the job..
hi pink :)) have been ginger today. How about you?

Thats great Pink.. to learn full time without the worry of day care.well done you.. *Hug*
hiya mrp and pinky
hi movieman! nice to see you :)

ginger... means I have been sore and moving around gingerly
hi wildflower :))
Thanks Mr P, Pink and Wild.:)

perhaps I used the wrong word? but basically, should have been in bed recovering instead of working
pink, i have another month? then I should be right off the stuff.
Mr P. before bing poorly, what work were you in ?
the meds change me (personality changes too much), so everyone will be looking forward to me getting off the stuff
elder, I was in jewellery (design) and retail/wholesale... moved on to retail baby goods, but had to give that up cause I was always in and out of hospital
i feel i should know the left hand o word, but i can't see it......clue plz

ty flower
Mr P yes i said earlier, the lyrics going round and round in the brain :)
elder, i would love a B&B somewhere in the mountains... that is something I would enjoy doing :)
Mr P. that would be wonderful, scenery and meeting new people ...
yes, meeting people is something I really enjoy
oh my! more than $50 million in a olympic on-line ticketing scam? and it is still happening... that is awful!
thats terrible!
can you imagine .. buying tickets that are worthless.. how can they get it so wrong !!
and one family lost $60,000. How horrid! That is alot of money to lose!
elder, people are disgusting! To design and set up a professional scam in so many places on the net is evil. A lot of families of olympiads are the ones who lost out. They are now desperately trying to get seats to see their kids play but can't
Police should be able to find the culprit and bury them deep !! as money has to be sent to someone/location .
problem is, they have packed up and taken the money and are long gone now
tragic for those who have lost so much money...
60,000!!!! A vacation of a lifetime down the drain
It amazes me that people can do that sort of crime, without any conscious thought for the distress they cause.
It amazes me too elder
in many many countries, the athletes get themselves to the events, have to pay alot of money for training etc before being selected... it is a dream for them and then some a** comes along and does them like that. These are not rich people... they are normal people, proud and true
here in Britain.. athletics have none or little financial support, they and their families struggle to support their potential olympians. it makes me want to scream ! given that they are representing our country. and we waste so much money on other stuff.
here here elder
Kids getting up the crack of dawn to train, followed by work or schooling .. its all wrong.!! aaahhhh !!
How on earth are they suppose to compete against other athletes.
I wonder how long these a**es were operating before being found out? To scam that much money it must have been going for a long time. I am really feeling sorry for those people. They wouldn't have known the website was fake. aaaahhhhhh indeed elder!
elder, I love watching the olympics for that reason, the amazing will of those people to do it... that is special in a person
Mr P, lets hope that the saying 'what goes around comes around' comes true. for these nasty criminal's.
I believe in karma
yes, they will get it one way or another... :{
I see fireworks
Hello all, back again
wtg wildflower
well done wild!

hi flosey :)
Yes and the athletes who arrive from countries with extreme poverty the struggle they have.. its not a fair playing field, but you have to bow your head to their strengths.

So is it an infection.. as they have prescribed Amoxi
Q. answered .:)

oh, thanks elder, I will not give up

Good morning Babble Buddies!
Back again.
hey scrab - how are you?
Good afternoon, Scrabbler.
Hi MG--tell me how Walter is doing please.
Hi Scrabbs!
mornin babblers!
I am preparing for another vacation--back to the Adirondack Mtns for 6 days, and we are going to camp in a tent for our first night.
Hi Eva
I am so past the tent thing...give me a bed!
I can do it if need be, but would rather have a bed!
Well, the day after we last "talked"he was doing great, but by afternoon was again complaining of a sore throat. Yesterday he still had it and was less than his usual energetic self but not sownright ailing. Today therefor I decided to let him go to daycare so I don't miss more work, and tomorrow morning I will have in to the doctor right away. He was pale and had a sore throat this morning but wanted to go to daycare, and I told them to let him sit around and rest and to let him sleep in at naptime if he wants to.
I can do it for one night. We will kayak to the camp site on the lake and set up, have dinner at the lodge, then make our own breakfast and lunch, then check into the lodge after lunch. We can do it.
Appetite good, drinking fine, breathing through nose, no coughing.
I'm surprised they would let him go... here if the kid blinks they send him home!
Not complaining of headaches anymore, just sore throat.
Well then, he is overall better.
but there is a lodge nearby???? that bed is too close... I would end up in someone's bed - LOL
just kidding, BTW
They allow wven kids with a simple cold, kje. But fever, diarrhea, general miserableness, or any of the rash illnesses an dthey send them home.
That is right, kje, day care staffs send kids home for any little issue and demand that we see the kid before the kid may return.
I do not sleep just anywhere
afternoon everyone :-)
Yes he is better but it just keeps going up and down and up and down and the sore throat is too persistent. I am taking him in.
Things are different here I guess.
Yes, we will be near the lodge and can retreat there if needed. They actually leave the doors open to rooms not rented out.
my motto is "get it while you are young" cuz these diseases are much worse when older - (sorry scrab)
now that is just too tempting scrab... an open door and an empty bed
I had chicken pox when I was nearly 16 and could not agree more; wish I'd had it WAY back.
If it rains, if we are too scared (black bears), then off we go to the lodge.
forget the rain...there are bears!?!?!? -
Yes, although encounters with them are infrequent. We must be cautious about food at the camp site.
you say that so rationally scrab - LOL
MG, have you noticed if Walter is a mouthbreather when sleeping?
Usually he is not.
I am a very rational, pragmatic person, that is true, LOL.
When he has a cold or something then he is. He also only very rarely snores (unlike, I am told, me).
I just wondered, MG, because that could give him a sore throat.
I do not want to go to work
Yeah, I thought of that. But he has been breathing through his nose again for days and days, also at night (I check on him a couple of times). I had a look with a flashlight too though, and it's pretty red back there.
I second that, kje!
"Have tea, will babble" - hi all !
Hi Luc '
Hi Montreal!
phantom: marjoram
hi Luc
Yes, I see it now, Angel
Yeah, I entered that a couple of times, Annie.
hi scrabs, MG, Annie, Angel et al...
I mean Angel.
hi monte... sure we can't do the exchange, job and all... really do not want to go to work today?
just starting - how's the grid ?
I do not like being called et al , monte - LOL : )
OK for a while then kind of bogs down. I can't find lots of short words.
So far not too bad and it has many of yesterday's words.
Could just be me though.
yes i'm sure kje..sorry
Haha, kje.
I am 103 in and they aren't popping out at me... but I think that is just me - may need more coffee
Phantom: trojan
I stalled out at 103 as well, but have managed to eke another 7 out of the woodwork.
well hiya there kje !! (is that better ?)
I am up to 48--time for a coffee refill.
going back to the grid to eke
thanks mont!
will try to eke myself...lol
Just when I thought all teh remaining tr words must be totally made up I see what I think is a Russian carriage! It's a word, anyway...
Eke-ing yourself in public is rude.
ahhh - TY monkey
well MG, my back is facing the keyboard...is that ok ?
I guess that'll have to do. Flexible neck you have!
Not to mention th etyping behind your back thing...
eking away then - 9 words found...woke up really late this am...
babblers have many talents, monkey
If you only knew...
and with that image - I will need to get ready for work - TTFN
Babbleworld is full of talented people...
Have a good day, Kje!
have a great day kje !
whining - I don't wanna go to work
bye, kje, easy day to you!
OK, will go
old patients are hoping to see you kathryn...
me either ugh
fireworks for me and time for bed! (((yawn!))) Thanks for the good time and see you all tomorrow!
congrats mrp
I didn't either... but here I am! Part of my reluctance was that my boss has been acting fairly inappropriately... but now he's out.
sweet dreams mr president !
Yahoo for you, mrp!
Yay Mr. P!!!!!!!!!
yay for mrp! w00t w00t
thanks all and niters ((poof))!
Told me to massage a client's back the other day. Rubs my shoulder a lot while talking. Loses client paperwork. We will be Having a Talk. I honestly think he might just be stoned...
Fireworks for me...
yes, a talk is overdue MG...
He certainly could be, MG.
yahoo Angel!
too right it is, maybe he doesn't know it's inappropriate
wtg Angel !!
hi Kitt
On principle I have no problem with a little weed on a workday, especially here where it's not against the law, but you have to be able to do your job approriately or it's completely out of line.
congrats, angel
Hiya :-)
congrats angle
*angel
Hi Katie
No wonder I am going slow on the grid today!!
Katie, I'm sure he sees nothing wrong, and he will respect it when I tell him to cut it out. Which will be if subtler things don't work. He has started rubbing my shoulde ra lot less since I gave him a Look.
good afternnon katie !
But he sure can be irritating.
My boss doesn't need drugs to act inappropriately, he has his narcissistic personality disorder to generate bad behavior.
Mine is really nice and would never dream of acting inappropriately, mind you I do have a 'look' that could be used if necessary
Oh dear. Mine wants to help everyone and give everyone everything which is great, but he lives in an idealistic fantasy world where we're all best friends and nobody wants to do anybody wrong and nobody lies...
The silent stare--so effective!
we call it 'my mother's face' which is actually from my gran, it's been passed down through generations :-)
Mind you, he acts very much lik ethis when NOT stoned, but in recent days he has seemed quite a bit more, ummm, scattered and in the moment.
The look that I gave him about the shoulder rubbing said, ëxCUSE me?!
My friend's (teachers) call it "the teacher's look."
This place is falling apart. Ever since the manager left with half the computer equipment, petty cash, and a client's tax money.
I'm doing my residency here.
Oh my, MG.
If things are really serious I have used both 'my mother's face' and the 'kittens behave voice', very effective but to be used sparingly
Just have to make it 204 more hours...
even being a male, i KNOW what you gals are referring to by "THE LOOK" ...
hey & hugs y'all
What type of residency, MG?
I do have the voice that makes the Great Dane go straight to her bed and pretend to be asleep...
Oh MG keep counting down the hours it will soon pass
hey nance !
Social Work.
Hahaha, MG!
Hi nance
See if it works on the great dane it is very effective on work people.
hey scrab & mont
I do really like it here much of the time but things really are starting to fall apart.
hey games & katie
It sounds like your boss needs a social worker, MG.
Hi nance
Oh yes! And actually he tries to get us all (well, that's me now) to do that for him, and his job, and the shopping, and the coffee... and teh cleaning...
I'm the rat sinking with the ship because it'l be hard to find somewhere that will accommodate the weird hours I'll need to work after Walter starts public school in 6 weeks.
All the other residens booked.
Hang in there, MG.
my boss died and left me $50,000
you're almost there MG...
Oh yes, I'll be fine. And it's great experience at handling unpredictable situations (that's called Level C)
sandy! coming out of lurk mode to react to that!!!!
really sandy ??
Wow, sandy!
Hi JBV
during my earlier years when i was a secretary, Mr. Tidball was my boss. I almost died when he showed me how he liked his pencils sharpened each morning & placed in the holder - lolhey sandy
good luck, monkey - unexpected good things may happen -
wow sandie
and he always acted inappropriately (lol) he was gay and lots of fun
sounds like the opening scene to psycho to me, sandy
I was alone here when the client phoned threatening suicide; I'm pretty sure me having to deal with that is illegal. But it also enabled me to write the protocol that got me a passing score in "proactive action".
avoid all rural motels
He was a great character
my son works in a small privately owned computer repair shop - came home the other day to tell me his "manager" (a kid only a few years older than he is) was embezzling funds, got fired and my son is now the manager and very happy!!
JBV--I am almost done with the Papa Santuzzu book and don't want it to end. I love it. Any other similar books that you could reommend?
hey jbv
a boss in one of my first jobs told me that he wanted his documents stapled in the top left hand corner when they were portrait, after a chat he realised that 1) where else would I have done it & 2) it was better not to state the bleeding obvious!!
Hee hee! I do already have a promise that I can go to the place in the next office if things go down here. Nice, well-run office dealing with women on a very low fixed income.
Scrabbler, What is the name of the book you are reading? Always looking for something good to read
Good things can happen to good people, JBV. That is an important lesson for your son--do the right thing.
lol katie
lol what a hoot josh 0- he was a doctor and instead of white coats he had every colour of the rainbow
BRB.
ok - i'm going in
glad to hear it, scrabbler, actually I have one - have to run upstairs to find the title - but my reading list is very eclectic - I'm in the middle of Anna Karenina right now -
Annie, it is about Sicilian immigrants from the early 1900's, which parallels my grandfather's story. "In the Garden of Papa Santuzzu".
*embarrassed to admit that I have read hardly any classic books*
Thanks Scrabbler, I will look for it in the library and if needed, I will reserve it
For a very light chic lit book I would recommend holly's inbox, there are two of them and very good fun. All written through emails.
I gave my sister "The Kite Runner" which is pretty heavy but has won some litary prizes
RB.
JBV--when I bought the Papa Santuzzu book I also bought "Dances with Luigi."
is that by the same author, scrabs?
Scrabbler don't be like that - my favourite book is Jilly Cooper's "Riders"
Nope, JBV---Paul Paolucci, I think.
I just finished reading The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit about a Egyptian Jewish family exodus from Cairo to Paris to New York and their life's journey...fascinating
I've lots of classics, but always feel there's one more on my "Wish I Had Read" list - so during the summer I have more free time to catch up
i've never heard the term "chic lit" before - good phrase
Correction: Paul Paolicelli.
Looks like I need all the sw5/18's except the cursing one... Any clues?
goes along with chick flick
hello
The Kite Runner is still doing really well...his newer book (1000 splendid suns) is also supposed to be great, but is only in hardcover in US and Canada so people won't buy it.
Hi Jane
s+smaller
Ooh, just found the homophone sw5.
Scrabs, if you liked stories of Sicilian life in the early 20th century, you may try going back another generation or two to Giovanni Verga's Little Novels of Sicily - written in 1883 but describes his own childhood much earlier
I read 1000 spelendid suns it was very good
exactly jean and that sums up the books. One really good author for chick lit is Jane Green
TY, EJ
Thanks, Jean!
who wrote Papa Santuzzu's garden - i missed that ?
the edition I have was translated and has an introduction by D.H. Lawrence
one of the sw's---perspire
I made up my own nickname for guy films
How'd I miss THAT? Thanks!
since ours are chick flicks, theirs are d*** flicks
Unfortunately, chick lit has become synonymous with any easy reading.
I have 72 books on my Amazon wish list, and it keeps growing, and I keep aging, so sometimes I get panicky about running out of time to read all the books that I want to read.
Is it the obvious guess, Jean?
Ah, I see that it is. Good one!
Papa Santuzzu book is written by Tony Ardizzone.
Esprit! We have a small "acton/adventure" section referred to as d*** lit. :)
tx scrabs
it can be extremely good and clever work as well. I really across all genres and they are every bit as good as other books
you all should join Goodreads. Send me your email addresses and I'll inviteyou!
Haha, EJ.
Gotta go!
*read
I would have thought that would be porno Uni ;-0
Has anyone here read The Cripple and His Talismans (Anosh Irani)? It was SOOO good.
not me Uni...
bye MG good luck
bye MG - have a great day !
scrab, did you see my post about the Verga stories?
hey to anyone i missed entering
Thanks. The boss is back and I am leaving in 15 minutes to get Walter and Go Home. Catch you folks this evening maybe. Thanks for the pep talks! *poof*
Way behind today, have to go into the real world, bye everyone
hi nance
bye annie
enjoy the day Annie !
Bye Annie!!
bye annie
hey harp
hey there harp !
half way, going for the list :-)
Yes, JBV--I just lengthened my Amazon wish list!
Verga wrote the story that became the libretto of the opera Cavalleria Rusticana
have you all read "three cups of tea?"
JBV--the poverty and oppression in Sicily that my GF endured--heart-breaking. He left his parents and 3 siblings behind. I still have relatives there to locate someday.
hi all, no I haven't harp, what is it about
I've sold it quite a few times, but never read, harp. I was told that in a private school somewhere in the States it is MANDATORY summer reading for all staff and students.
nope harp...
I recently read The Last Chinese Chef, very good
also recently read The Rosetti Letter also very good
It is on my list, jane
an american climber is injured on K2 and gets lost. stumbles into a small pakistani village and they nurse him back to health
will have to look into that one, harp
he is appalled by their lack of schools and starts a foundation to build schools in pakistan. true story
hey uni & peri
The Rosetti Letter looks great, Peri--my kind of book, and also added to my list! TY.
Scrabs, it was one of the best book I have ever read and never would have picked it myself. it was highly recommended by my best friend
I like historical fiction. Did you read "The Dante Club"?
di 10 please?
I read some chick lit books but I usualy like books with some substance
di 10 builds on the di6/33

didn't think I liked historical fiction but I loved the Rosetti letter
well now have three books to look for when I can get to the library

ron white - comedian
they call him "tater salad" and his son "tater tot" - lol
aah I haven't heard of him
he's a hoot
he's one of the blue collar comedians
I do like a laugh
jeff foxworthy, larry the cable guy, bill engwald & ron white
They tell jokes in a group?
ron white's my favorite
in a group sometime & also alone
obviously an American thing that I haven't caught up with but I will keep my eye out
*sometimes - but mostly alone
please do - he makes me lol - lol
Ron White and Bill Engvall are both amazing. LArry the Cable Guy and Jeff FOxworthy are irritating, IMO.
thank you for spelling bill's name for me uni
i find only larry to be irritating
I have the three blue collar comedy tours, but one of my fave's was Ron White's "You Can't Fix Stupid"
but remember - i live in north carolina - lol
mine, too. isn't he funny?
Despite the alcoholism, he is still funny as heck. I really enjoy Bill as well. Nice "cleanish" jokes.
the alcohol is probably tea don't you think?
I am freezing to death here - I have three jumpers and two trackie pants on - I need a red wine
No,it's alcohol. He's often drunk by the time he performs. More often, passed out by the end of a show. It's a big complaint people have about im, he truly is a drunk.
After the wine I will start telling jokes maybe!!
mercy - i didn't know that
sandy - where do you live - antartica?
yay - i need to laugh - open that cork - lol
Perth in West Aus but Aussies never do well in winter we design our living around the hot weather
that's right - i forget you have winter when we have summer
But I LOVE the winter and like rain etc. and don't like the hot days
Morning, all. Okay, Sandyloo. I'll bite. How cold is it in Perth?
hey judi
darn uni - now when i watch ron white, all i will think of is the alcohol. lol
I just looked up the temp on the weather channel and it's 5.3 degrees celcius
i thought he was like dean martin - he drank tea. didn't he?
Eek. That is a bit chilly.
i can't do the metric thingy - lol
it's about 40 degrees farenheit Its cold for here
I still love him...so long as he holds it together during the act and doesn't drive.
Ha. Neither can I. But I know zero is + to 32 celcius, so 5.3 is probably about 40-ish to us yanks.
No wonder I'm suffering incredibly (poor me poor me)
= to that is.
thank you sandy - metric users sure know how to calculate - lol
we never have snow or anything like that here
Really tough grid. So changed icon!
that's what i will be watching for uni - hoping he will make it through the act & have a limo take him home
Well thought I had
Believe me, Sandyloo, snow is vastly over - rated.
Does it go below 0 c for you sandyloo?
are those your favorite comedians alleyn?
lol judi
It can go below zero but very rarely- I have seen snow and been skiiing but I fell over lol
Hello all.
Wow. A winter where it doesn't go below 0!!! That would be amazing, to me. Anywho, must away to work. Natal day hours in Nova Scotia! Take care all.
I have seen ice on my windscreen a couple of times.
We used to live in upstate NY, so we knew below zero all too well. Not so bad here in the mid-atlantic. Much more to my liking.
hey bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Perth is noted for its meditteranean climate and its beautiful beaches. We have a very watery lifestyle in the summers. my sister has a catermaran and we got sailing and beaching a lot
How are you today, Nance?
go not got
ok bzzzzz & i hope you are
how are the sharks down there sandy?
I haven't decided. Still am not quite awake yet.
Big and bitey. one morning the people in one of our trendy coffee shops by the beach saw one of the swimmers eaten by one
Sounds loverly, Sandy. We are only about 90 minutes from the beach here in Delaware. However, the summer crowds are so insane, we usually stay away until after Labor Day.
o mercy
Since they have banned whaling the shark population at local beaches has increased but mostly it is pretty safe
No sharks here, thank goodness. Just a few harmless, happy dolphins.
Lots of dolphins here - we see them everyday in our river
Nance, I just disappeared yesterday. Grandbaby came over and I got real "busy".
did y'all have fun?
One day, hubby and I will make a trip across the pond to Australia. It's on our bucket list.
Yes, we had a good time. He is such a hoot.
He is actually my favorite comedian.
Perth is lovely there is no doubt-but if you ever visit Oz the East coast is more exciting and lots to see and do
Well, I'm off for a bit. Must check on the E-Bay item I'm waiting to win. Wish me luck!
awwwwwww
lol @ bucket list
Sydney and the Queensland coast are not to be missed. But Perth has the best beaches by far
brb

thanks sean. you are correct
Hello again. I have a bit of time before I leave for work.
killed the Js at last
hi scrabbler
hi there scrabbler!
Hi again folks. Made it home. Hey Scrabbs, want to hear what my boss did after I signed off? I sw5 I'm going to write a soap-opera style book about all this.
oh, maybe you can help me, gwen... i'm still missing a J word. i have 6 J4's, 3 J5's and 1 J6
7 j4's
some of the Js are not really words 8-)
you need another j4. lemme know if youwant another clue
Monkey, I want to hear what your boss did!
OK, here goes. First of all on the way to work I found a metal case on a pile of stuff to be hauled away (common enough here). It turned out to contain the unused remnants of a 25-th anniversary party: a pack of nice cigars, a bottle each of white and red wine, miniature whiskies, a silver box Walter will enjoy Putting Things In, etc. Way cool.
What now, MG?
i'm thinking you might need the j4 than rhymes with the fluid in air conditioners
nice stuff, monkey!
well I needed it, thanks Dr
Great find, MG!
TY, BDG
I showed it to the boss. So at the end of the day we were sitting there with David the tax guy, and my boss cried out, "I know what you can do!"
searching still, Gwen... thanks for the help; will let you know if i need a further clue :)
I need one more j5
Oops boy fell down... no, he's OK! To go on...
Still in Florida, Doren?
have ja5 and jo5
here's a j5: wooden prop under a roof you
jo4/13 Help please it's the last one I have 10
oh, try this one then: jo + not peace
have that one
TY, BDG
I said, "What can I do?" He said, "You can give the red wine to David!" So there I am confronted with Daviod, who thinks I was already wondering what to do with the wine or something, and I had to decide what to do.
j4,13: j + what you say when you stub your toe + plural
jo4...men have ***els when they get old
add the plural letter to the end
ty gwen
why would he say that, MG?
monkey, is he not a wine drinker or something?
you're welcome wildcat 8-D
did you say you were looking to give it away?
You missed the earlier stuff... he's a chaotic and probably stoned idealist who has been getting weirder and weirder lately. So I decided that it's my boss who would be embarrassed and it was about time.
that's just weird. what did you end up doing?
I guess you have to expect the unexpected with him.
lol phaeton i'll have to give this some thought!! what do men have when they are old??
So I said (all this in Dutch, mind you), "To be honest, and I'm sorry to have to be so plainspoken, I find it quite impolite to tell me to give my own stuff to someone else. And for that matter telling me to give that client a massage the other day was also 1oo% inappropriate and made me very uncomfortable."
whoo hoo i have a grey box on the j's at last
gj sandy!
good for you
sandy...long bulging cheeks!
Upshot is though that he apologized, but get this, he said that I need to be understanding because since the manager took off with all that stuff he has been trying to figure out how to delegate!
!! what did he say?!
what a hoot monkey and phaeton
delegate your wine?
delegate it in my direction
lol bernice
Delagate massages to clients? Plus (as I pointed out) this particular client has a history of lying to me and he knows I do not like her.
I delegated to wine to me!
I did give David teh white wine though; we don't tend to prefer it.
egad, sounds like you word in dilbertland
Bosses are asses unless you are a boss!
monkey what country do you live in?
I do Gwen. I'm a resident at the most chaotic socila work office in Haarlem. And mind you, resident means unpaid volunteer with more duties.
My office is classic Dilbert World!
The Netherlands.
i'm a boss, but self employed, so i don't push me around 8-)
me too. and i never give away my own wine
Just 204 hours to go... then I will have my degree (February) and seek out a nice quiet archiving job.
why do you work and at office where you aren't paid? working your way up?
I'm a subservient female who waits on my husband's every wish
lol again bernice
I have to get ready for work now. Waaaah. I want to stay in Babble Land.
sandy, i hope you're kidding
Well, you have to humor them, don't you, Sandy.
Gwen, it's a residency position coupled to my education.
Bye Scrabbs! Thanks again for all the advice!
ah, we call that a work-study program (i think)
lol I went down this road once while i was playing tangle and they all believed me - I was quite shocked- but we all had a good laugh. Of course his every wish is my command!!
74 left for tonight. Good luck with Walter tomorrow, MG. maybe he is recovering from mono, now that I think of it--a more prolonged illness with tonsillitis, swollen glands, fatigue. treatment = time & rest
here, with work study you get paid
internships you don't get paid
my brother was in netherlands once and said that almost all the TV is in english. is that still true?
Yes. I do 20 hours school, 20 homework, and 20 workplace experience each week. Except I'm smart so that cuts down on the homework hours and increases the boredom levels.
Hello all!
Mono is the kissing disease isn't it?? What has Walter been up to!!
my other brother had a job, where he did not get paid, while he was in college, and he was called an intern. not medical though
Back from Vacation! Back to Babbling.....and work
Yeah, internship is probably a better word. I was translating from the Dutch.
That is why adolescents are more likely to get mono, but the youngest kid that I have ever seen with mono was 15 mo old. By age 40 we are all immune to Epstein-Barr virus, the cause.
or slave . . . LOL
sandy, who knows anymore. i don't even understand women who call themselves Mrs. John Smith or whatever
Yeah, mono occurred to me, Scrabbs; if so he's on the good side of it, right?
MG - you are doing a social work residency? What type of degree are you working towards?
Yes, most kids are much improved in about 2 wks, although teens drag it out in order to sleep and miss school.
In Dutch it is called Sociale Dienstverlening. It's a very broad degree with an emphasis on administrative and counseling skills.
I try to set a good example for my daughters Bernice but they refuse to follow my perfect behaviour.
//
Would he be immune after this if that is it, Scrabbler? and how t=do they confirm it? Swab test?
Sandy, you are such an inspiration to me.
why does it keep saying ra5 is not in the dictionary?
dienst is research?
Dienst is rendering of services.
or service? (not wanting to drag out my dutch dictionary)
ra 5 what?
Just service, really, but the verlening part means rendering of.
I have my Social Work degree here in the states - I did an internship with a stipend for 9 mths for the State Government. Was paid 3000 up front and then worked for 9mnths - then you are potentially offerered a job after that upon graduation
ah, got it. smae word in german, i think, which i studies back in teh stone age
ra5/12
Mono is confirmed by blood work, and you can get ill again---"reactivation" of the virus, and other viruses cause mono-like illnesses, e.g. Cytomegalovirus, Toxoplasmosis.
smae = same
one winter break from college, i was at a friend's home and her mom kept apologizing to her father for some small mistake with the dinner, over and over apologizing, and i thought, i don't want to be that ever.
Should I put him through blood tests or just go on the hunch of the doctor?
(waiting for the day that toxoplasmosis is in the grid)
I hope I'm an inspiration to the rest of any overliberated women Scrabbler!
what's the o in the first column?
Scrabbler do you play online scrabble and if you do where do you play it?
Talk it over tomorrow, MG, after he is examined.
bernice, sounds like an unbalanced relationship!
totally
Haha, Sandy. I am quite happy as a single, childless 48 yr old woman.
not sure how many there are, but mine is showing up
scrabble as a new beta version on facebook. it wasn't working at first but now it is.
OK, will do. Thanks again.
you are lucky and I bet a lot richer
Mono is confirmed by a simple blood test. Once you have it, it is in your system and you are a carrier. You can give it to people and it doesn't really go away, just becomes dormant.
OK, I must go! I have to earn my paycheck.
Sandy, less insane too.
Thanks! It's just that a simple blood test is not so simple on an almost-four-year-old.... OK, got to marinate steaks and put TV on for the boy and clean up. Have fun all, I'll be back on later!
clue for 0 in first column?
(not a carrier) !

Okay, so we went up Fall River Road to above the Cont divide - above the treeline - where the trees don't grow. We saw elk, and lots of mule deer
sounds nice!
there was a baby bunny living under our cabin. We rode horses and went hiking, rode the aerial tram, played horseshoes, mini golf, spent quality time with the fam!
Lots of shopping!
It was way fun! great weather - virtually no humidity - only now i have a cold - going from 8100 elev to sea level - and from eastern time to mountain and back - not so good on the body!
We had an elk doing his mating call the other night
aww, bunnies! 8-)
we didn't hear them bugling, they were still up high, but they will come down in the next few weeks - i love to hear the elk bugle
hello all, help with to7 please
i know a super little baby too - :) eek!
hey there BDG, I hear that you are a whiz at Scramble
peri, that is a false rumor! i suck at scrabble. (scrabble is not a word game, it just looks like a word game. it's really a math game)
I said *Scramble* BDG not Scrabble
I don't do well at Scrabble
but I love Scramble
my former roommate, who i could cream at boggle, and who can't spell worth a damn, can cream me at scrabble. he is a math whiz computer geek.
that sounds wonderful, beeze! i would love to do something like that (sorry for the delayed response, had a few clients come in)

I went to Estes Park, we go there every year, since i was a child - i notice more and more how amazing Colorado is. If i could move within the states, just up and move, i would move there. I can't see any negatives about Colorado. Of course, everywhere has negatives, but the weather is ideal, and the wildlife, it is just suitable for me.

the pimple one - it is a kind of tr4 - i think
oooh found my S!
1 W7 or 2?
1 hursh.
1 W6 or 2?
:)
hi lynxxxie
still have no idea. can you clue the RO + pimples any other way?
Hursh 2
ro + she'll be comin round the mountain *h** she comes
Bernice, ro + pimples is also a man's name
oh goody, i need a W6 then.
Luke and **** Wilson - Comedic brothers
what a nice variety of clues we are coming up with
Hursh then plural you coming round the mountain ..
ok, i have that one, that's the pimple one?
that is for the RO
i don't need any more R elder, i need W6. and 6 T's.
yes, it is, Bernice
ok
i don't think there really is a pimple one Bernice - if so, that is it!
got my W!
does everyone else know that word means pimple except me?
a w** isn't really a pimple, i think it's something more permanent, like a mole
Hursh .. the extension of one of the we/630.
Just you I think, Bernie. :))
actually, a w** is a cyst like pimple
no, i didn't - i think that was just confusing another clue with the RO
I didn't know that word meant pimple!
clues are supposed to help you get the word!
LOL !!
any more clues required before I go.
indeed they are - thus the name!
you can't pop a w**
I will not mention Pimples :)
hello all, back to find my last 31
re 6/21 please
i'm sure if you apply yourself you can
to pair again
but it's very dangerous, because you can easily infect the surrounding tissue
?
duh, thanks missb
yw
re 6/21 re + another word for friend ( 4 letters)
it's dangerous, but doable
you can apply heat to it for fifteen mins a day for 10 days to try to make it go away.
Wa** should be left alone and checked by GP if any worried by changes etc etc..
we aren't talking about wa4, we're talking about we3.
i think they can be frozen off or you can tie a string around - those techniques don't work with pimples
oh! elder i was talking about wa4
ty for re 6 got it a blister can be called a we3 or a boil
hursh is talking about a word that doesn't exist on the grid! go figure!
lol
how many words today?
geez, i have no idea how to find the rest of my T's. may just have to list it.
184
it's not MY fault, i am just trying to explain because of annie's clue
plural of it does
thanks
it does exist, it is we4 not we3
yay for hurshy!
well yes, as a pl, it's we4.
why are we yaying for me.
phone..
I was referring to the word as a plural and that is my last word on pimples!!!! LOL
yes it exists, but doesn't count except in its plural form - i'm glad i learned this new word today!
never mind, misread the chat but I am sure hurshy will finish the grid soon.
random yay's are probably okay - i always like a good yay just because
i'm not finished yet either, you can yay for me
I could use a good YAY today whether I finish or not
see Bernice likes them too!
yay for anniebrook!
Well thank you Bernice and a hearty yay back to you
woo hoo
it's hard to go back to a grid after a yay
w00t w00t
even harder now
back..
16 left, bbs
welcome back, elder
do you yay! people need any more clues :)
yes
but don't know what to ask for!
LOL !!
i need one more N from the middle tile in the bottom row. no idea what it is
lol
are there any weird N words?
yes, but mostly things we have a lot, babblet-wise
just looking..:)
No weird ne's
oh c'mon, the two ne4/5s are weird - in that we (or at least i) don't know what they mean
3 no's - 2 x4/5 and 1- 5/12.
ok, i need another NE 4/5!
thanks
little odd maybe, Hursh, but easy.
and *i* need 3 T6's and a T7
woo hoo, got it
there are two T7 (that i know of)
i have the one that plurals to the 8
2 t's 7
hello all :)
TO + the end of what itches down below
To 7 Hursh.
ringworm?
crabs?
yes, sure, but this is what pregnant women get
so it's hard to sit
to t ---to + end of robot and plural
aha.
i should have got those
should we all brainstorm what else can itch down below?
no, you don't want those
not THOSE, but the to6/7 - donut shaped.
sorry, calling them donut shaped doesn't make them more appetizing
if you have he_______ you might sit on an air-inflated to6 for comfort, lol
Hursh! is there something you wish to share with the group :)
Phone ...
perhaps i was unclear. the definition of to6 is donut shaped.
yes, i understand, hursh, i was just making a joke
:)
hello again - back for 53
so... on an unrelated note, has obama announced who will be ... his vp?
back..
may I please have a clue for the oa5 please? it's my last one :)

who doesn't? :)

2378
alrighty, a T 6/30 then!
well I just wish that congress didnt feel so insecure as to pas bills which hurt said democratic process =D
someone who lives in to4
someone who lives in the city?
smaller than a city and extend .
thanks lynxxxxxxxx!
and elder!!!!
Lynnxx is so fast ::))
who's fast!
I am hampered by not being able to type and being an older lady:)
Hi everyone. Thought I'd see if I could get a handful of words before lunch is over!
ice, i heard nancy pelosi make a sort of obvious point, but one i hadn't thought about specifically in those terms, that the party system, and the members of congress deciding to either always vote how the pres wants, or against, depending on the party, thereby makes the legislative branch useless, extends the executive power, and ruins our system of checks and balances.
thx, thats several more words for me
Lynnxx, I think its your competing with greyhounds that has increased your speed:)
i am off to observe some tv - I will see you all tomorrow
hello Wick.
Bye Kazzer.
hi Wicked and bye Kazz
hursh... thats the thing... we are NOT a bi-party system, but everyone thinks we are and congress has passed bills to prevent other candidates from receiving govt funding, taking part in debates, and even denying them the right to air commercials for them. as such, if you are not a part of the demorepublican party then you get nothing and noone ever knows if you would be a better candidate
yeah it's really lame. :( :(
I will be taking my leave too. Bye everyone.. Have a good evening.
here here icepyro
I was truly hoping that with this years debate over obama vs clinton that the party would finally split again
well said
bye Elder, see you again soon
take care Lynnxx. gone!
bye elder tc
even if they had, i'm not sure how much good it would have done.
70 words. Not too bad. And...I'm outta here for a while. Be back later!
and thats the problem. I didnt want Hilarious Clinton to win, but I wanted to break some molds that I strongly disagree with (being not of the demorepublican party myself) and it would take a division as we almost had to do just that. and honestly I feel Obama would still win the presidency even with Clinton still in the race
*steps from the soapbox* ok back to work/grid

that's neat stephie, my first class this summer "Math for Educators" was about how to get the background theory underneath the regular teaching up to 8th grade. Fascinating, actually (have tutored kids up through 8th grade many times)
oh, I am not really making fun, shady -- my alma mater's mascot is the geoduck (pronounced gooey-duck) -- giant clam from the Sound.
ty i would never have got that on my own
lol, stid, i love my tigers, and after last christmas half of mexico is wearing lsu gear!

I think I put off going to the list due to the humiliation - this is so embarassing to see how many I skipped
Thank goodness someone else had a bizarre mascot. My HS mascot was a FISH (very appropriate for this group!) -- but at least it was a fighting fish -- MUSKIE cheers, jeanne
I am down to 66, but have to leave the house soon so should read for a bit. Thanks for the chat and fun, friends! ((((hugs))))
funny - I saw the wine relatively early - it is a favorite of mine... maybe a sign of drinking too much - LOL
I will list when I get back, kje.

stid - yeah, that fish. I lived in Ohio, there were some there too.
And then here in Omaha, the Benson area, the Benson High School has ... the Benson Bunnies!!! What a way for a football team to take the field!
how cute and cuddly, lmao
They seldom win, of course. Perhaps over some Terrapins or Turtles...he he heee
that is just evil to do to a bunch of teenagers
I kinda thought so too.
scary phantom: disco
They've been the Bunnies since the '40s...I get an old lady every once in a while who chats about being a Bunny. Very strange.
I tried that shdy - then realized it wasn't really there
No men every brag about it, that's for sure!

I know... The newer bunch are ok, but nothing like the old crew.... I used to love watching the wheeltappers and shunters club.....
yes they did. I suppose that was a good way to go.
"Gentlemen of the committee"..
He died entertaining.... how many people can say they knew solmeone who died doing what they loved best...

Bar Tartine reminded me of the small restaurants in row houses back east when I was living in B-more - had great service also

If you live under the bridge, will you become a troll, Dan?
how bout that di 10? is it from the 6?

i began as a secretary and was one for 8 years. i then became an editorial specialist editing IBM technical manuals. Then i went to 19 months of programming retraining through IBM (instead of working, i went to class 8 hours as day plus of course homework. When that was completed, i programmed the online help screens. We had some family problems (as most working parents do) & left IBM in 91 after 14 years to be home with my preteen son. My husband worked there also & left with 18 years of service.
thanks

IBM was giving a buy-out which i took first & zane took 2nd. We moved to north myrtle beach, south carolina to learn the hospitality industry. We were doing well, lived i street off the ocean, enjoyed our work & then i began having ruptured disk problems. We stayed until 2003. It was as long as we were able to hang on with me having my physical problems. Since 1997, i haven't been able to work. How's that for a short answer. I could sit around feeling sorry for myself or worrying about the choices i made in my life, but what good would that do? I'm now looking for something lucrative to do on the net since i am not a realiable employee any longer. If anyone knows of something that i could try, plealse inform me.
r + Olympian, Jesse O****
The most lucrative thing is designing web games.
Oh, boy...had the singular for that!! Duh...thx pida and jac!
Herin - good luck with that.
nance,
Jac either wayu a few of these brews and i will sleep and wont care
mkg - we had plans to operate a beach property together - we always have worked together in the past. quite well i must add
Herin - I know. xxx (Hugs)
mkg? did you want something? or did i answer it?
nance, i also had ruptured discs but went to years of physical therapy. after 2 yrs i was much better. i refused to be bed ridden. so i work. anyway what i hate the most is that i must work out three times a week or i am hurting bad. so i swim and walk and exercize. anyway i would strongly encourage you to go to p.t. and see what can be done. and exercize like crazy. for me it was neck discs and from a whiplash car accident. i refused to have surgery and i kept working at it. they told me i would never lift heavy stuff again and i do it all the time now.
need ma 5 22 please.

I will never have another back surgery - even though i do have degenerative disk disease. both surgeries were on my lower back. it's my neck now. that's why i couldn't type using my right hand for the last month. it's getting better now.
Good boyfriend, Herin. Give him a pat on the head.
Nance - are your vertebrae fusing?
nance - had ruptured disks many years ago and did the physical therapy thing and also spent 3 months in bed but then i've been fine since then. swimming was also very helpful. traction was also very helpful in relieving the pressure. my sister had back problems also - pinched nerves and ruptured disks and has had surgery twice, once in upper spine and once in lower spine. she has continued to work since then.
thanks min, good clue for a word i've never heard of!
