we have a garden market place that grows trees and once a year they hook up the big belgians to the sleigh and about 2 dozen of us have a ride to the back of the property where we all pick our tree.we all have tohse quilted lap blankets and the hand out hot cider etc.the kids love it

We're not religious but having been partially raised by an anthropologist I know teh benefit of a good winter holiday. Always seen it as family time, everyone0feels-0good time, a time of giving in the darkness of winter.

there was a horrid story on our local news last night about a woman who opened her car door as she was backing down the driveway, to see where she was, cause it was dark, and she got killed because there was a tree and she got between it and the door

Well, I joke with my vets about how our work is very similar. Kids are uncivilized beasts til 3 or so, and sometimes forever.

But vets get to sedate their patients to do exams or draw blood. We pediatricians get kicked, hit, punched, spit on, puked on, have glasses ripped of....all has happened to me.

Well Rude now pays me after 12 on a Sat which is bloody pointless as post offices shut at 12 and half my day is gone. Rude told me to ring the check account line after 12 and couldn't tell me why the same company that Bob was with is now later.

speaking of collapsing, here is something fun - NOT. Secondo went on a field trip with her 7th grade class today, and they had arranged to take them all for a lunch as a treat. Turns out the restaurant had this "secret recipe"' for their fries. Yes - the secret was they dust them with some sort of nut flour, and then fry them in a peanut oil. SIX kids had to be taken out and given epi pens, and five more kids immediately vomited. DUHHHHH
