never ending memory then
sorry meant grem
I am no gremlin.. not even close
you, too, are amazing... not in different ways
meant just in different ways
I am feeling pretty average right now..lol
know that feeling... actually hate it
watching a program on the Reno air races - they would be something to see live
my neighbors go to those races
ru, I have a dog question... does yours sleep in a crate at night?
yes..
our other dog sleeps on the bed however
lol
what do you put in bottom to make it comfy?
we get crate beds at dog shows..
a nice blanket is good too
how big is your crate?
30 X 36
Drs Foster & Smith on line or catalog sells them too
ok same size; Elie keeps chewing up all her blankets
yes..
mmm
ty will look at the beds
keep a squirt gun next to the bed and if she starts chewing the blanket.. nail her with a squirt and say no
hi all, just on, and by the way, i hate daylite savings time, it
its almost 4 am and i can't sleep....
will have to mention that to daughter... so many of her other bad habits are gone...
spray bottle always worked well for my cats
spraying mine as we speak
is it a puppy still dee?
spray bottle probably worked on Metfan too huh pugs?
I didn't need to train him!
he's older than me & was well house broken when we met
lol .. I bet...
anyone seen him this weekend ??
I sure like him.. very, very funny guy
ok ty just signed up for their catalog; she just turned 13 months, but she is a "rescue puppy" daughter got her at 9 months
top shelf !
she just has to bear with it dee.. puppies are chewy
good to hear; that is what she told us... they seem to be getting along well
just make sure he has plenty of things he's allowed to chew & when he chews the wrong thing take it away with a firm NO then give him something he can have
what breed is the pup?
mine adore cow hooves & pig ears the best
American Bulldog
ewwwwwwww
ewwww?
Does the pup have toys to chew/sleep with in her bed? Stew has his tiger and polar bear - cost $1 each at the local school market. His best buddies and good to kill occasionally
cow hooves and pig
ears
they are in the catalog as well
aww
yes chew toys
I'll look over the toys and the bed when the catalog comes
brb potty break
I would recommend a kong for the bull dog. they have powerful jaws
the web site is more complete however

not sure, I stopped using FF *gasp*!
oh well, not important, just hadn't noticed until week or so ago. It's useful
well 14 left for tomorrow... falling asleep here
hugs till the morrow
goodnight Volley, sleep well
I never thought I'd find a browser I liked better. Till Chrome came along
What does Chrome do better?
Crossy was talking bout that recently
speed mainly. it's very intuitive to search - you just shove your search into the url bar. but it's so so fast
it's faster and it uses less of your computer's resources than ff
With my new computer, I don't have to worry about resources anymore, heh - was quite a relief
i notice a difference on a big imac
i notice a big difference on my laptop, and that's not exactly short on resources
I'm all for Chrome if it gives people one more way to give up IE.
chrome works well on almost all the sites i visit, but not all
i definitely use chrome for babble
do try chrome. it also seems more stable. I've never had it crash. yet. lol
I think I tried it one time, but I am happy with FF for now.
Have you tried Opera 10.50?
There's also this browser I heard about called Flock which is based off Firefox (and they try to keep things parallel to it) which has social network integration focus.
I think I only ever use Opera when I'm testing websites ...
one of the things that will hopefully always be great about firefox is open source
Flock isn't very stable, in my experience
I have tried the latest Opera, I think.
Never tried Flock, just heard about it recently.
10.50 is quite new and fast
flock is a great idea, not so great in actuality
I don't care about speed and stability and usability. All I care about is...perfect standards compliance!!!
Interesting about Flock -- my grand-cousin was working for them for a while but left -- don't know why. I've never tried it.
First implementations of great ideas often crash.
Good morning/evening all.
Haz! La Glitterata!
Hello!
we have a dog-filled grid today
Is Crufts still on? Is that why?
quite possibly
Bound to be. That's settled.
I want to get an affordable laptop -- what shall I get? I just misssed a golden opportunity --a second hand Sony VAIO SR140DS with Vista, loaded, for $600, listed locally -- someone got there ahead of me :(
Oh yes, of course, DrG in the US midwest knows about Crufts
Hello Haz
hi haz
Do I detect a slight whiff of sarcastic font? Clearly you don't share my faith in Dr-G.... Hello, jillibus!
And Andree, hello.
hehe Haz
we have co6s, ho5s, he6s, and nearly shelties and lu5ers
hi andree
If only there were corgies for the qu5.
and my granddaughter's pup is here (Arlo)
How about rottweiler? Close enough?
pugs were in yesterday
no Dane this time, though
oh, I'm over halfway and we lose an hour of sleep tonight (daylight saving starts) so I'd better go to bed -- busy day tomorrow with visiting grandson and his unwife
unwife!
this will only make sense to UK people but all I can see is lil-let
bye jilli

sorry

good morning everybody. Lovely big Sunday grid! Jumping right in
Ata!
go get dinner instead of the pb , back later
Good morning, ruby.
This is a nice grid for long words, isn't it?
Hello Ruby - and Haz! our little co***** with the lovely li**
hello haz
All of those -er and -ed places make for lots of long words, yeah.
tell you when I find more than 2 lol
hello lynxxxx
Ah, lynxx, begorrah, to be sure, to be sure..
hi ata, how are you feeling today?
bit better. another very quiet day ahead :)
Aren't you going to visit your mother for MOther's Day?
I'm not very good at quiet ...
no. she's miles away!
I did send her a card and present though
Mothers' Day is in May in US; is it today in UK or if only you're an Irish other
Love knows no distance....
wow, thats a guilt trip and a half Haz
*mother
Whoever wrote that was clearly a fool.
it doesn't. which is why Royal Mail is closing the distance for me
It's Mother's Day in UK and I assume Ireland as well.
and I will of course phone her
I don't know about here, my only *children* here are Ruby and Max and they don't say much
One daughter was being very complimentary to me when she wrote on my card that I'm a very good sp7/32. (She was listing my virtues)
but its not like I don't speak to her most days anyway!
looool. did she comment on you're grammer too?
lol, haz
Indeed she did. My grammar was praised as well.
phew
She knows what's important.
which daughter got the brownie points for those?
The younger one. The older one commended me for being right more often that not. I've raised those girls well.
they both did well then!
They're both in my good books for the day.
might you feed them more than gruel for the day?
Yes, younger one is away, of course, the older one will get at least one potato.
goodness. she will think herself honoured. the other one will have to make do with a virtual potato
I know - do you know you can buy tinned potatoes? Who ever thought of such a travesty?
tescos
not as bad as the dreaded whole-chicken-in-a-can
the person who thought of tinned asparagus of course
that's a horrible idea! how hard can it be to peel a potato and imagine how much salt they add
It's fascinating to me that you can buy tinned fried onions. Or frozen breakfast on a plate.
growing up, I only had tinned asparagus and hated them!
...as for tinned pumpkin
Big tins?
no no, wait, Libby's brand tinned pumpkin is the best way to make pumpkin pie! I've never been able to succeed with fresh.
the texture is perfect!
the ones with tinned are superb. My friends send it from the US!
I just don't understand, pumpkin cooks in flash.
yes, but the fresh kind is to watery to make a good flan-type filling that rises in the oven in my French pastry tart
it depends whether you're eating it as a veg or as pie!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVOmWiA 7hVo - whole chicken in a can. it's horrid!
next Thanksgiving, Lynxx, come to Frnce and I'll show you!
big can!
Worse than tinned pumpkin, Ata?
watch and see .......... *ominous noises*
I don't think I can look at that Ata, really
it's just - horrid!
Come on, lynxxx, you're Australian! You're brave and ready for anything!
I love this grid!
Wouldn't roasting then mashing give you the right texture Ruby?
good point, Haz :P
it's only 48 seconds long!
Morning all - on the chicken thing - whne i was very poor - a long time ago the local childrens charity gave out christmas boxes that had xmas dinner in tins with a toy - i had chicken in tin - turned it into soup
maybe, but when you make the pie, it is very easy to just beat in eggs and sugar and condensed milk and it's always perfect
Goodness, Kazzer, you're a recipient of chicken in a can? You've survived, that says something.
the grid or the pumpkin pie prep? lol
not been around much - have new morning routine - have to be out of the house by 0610 and dont get home till 1930
haz yes i did - it smelt disgusting
hi Kazz
was that a superior English chicken in a can though?
i can still remember it 34 years later
That's a demanding schedule, Kazzer, no wonder babble has taken a back seat.
i dont think so ata
TY Ata, I didn't really need to see raw chook in a can!
I have to say that I've eaten pretty disgusting foods around the world, but I'd never actually gagged just looking at something until I opened a chicken-in-a-can
it's cooked, lyn, not raw!
Why, is the chicken on the video an inferior foreign one?
hello babble friends. insomnia again -- ugh. on the plus side, it does mean I get to visit with you fine UK/aussie babblers!
Well, there's an encouragement to view a video - it made Ata puke.
chook is a word I've only learned since I've been playing scrabble and babble with people from Australia. I love the word, but is it acceptible in either game?
morning trif
Hello Trif!
hello trif. But what about us Frenchies???
No, chook isn't acknowledged by enable.
bonjour francaise!
the vid is from the US, I think
we only eat chickie from the farm shop now - they run around in the field at the back - very nice
oh my god - it is cooked (mictrowaved I suppose!) blech
merci trif!
Ah!
wasn't the video!! it was the Real THing.
We shall say no more....
mine came in thick globby jelly
So the video is okay? The real thing is the killer?
hi Trif
yep ... it's quite .... fowl. hahaha.
kaz: it probably made a great soup!
the video doesn't come with surround smell
have come late to this convo, but I must say, chicken in a can sounds gross.
Kazzer, if you could find out who manufactured/distributed the chicken, I'd say you could sue. The mental distress has obviously been enormous.
can't say it's worse than haggis, though
why don't they allow eel as a verb?
it did actually - i washed it off first and just ckucked in the rest of the tinned stuff - apart from the cream and the xmas pud of course
Haggis is an acquired taste, I'll grant you, but does it cause nightmares and uncalled for nausea?
Because eel isn't a verb?
um, yes, haz, it does.
and - LOL - when I decided that I couldn't face looking at the chicken-in-a-can any more, I offered some to Hobbit. She ran away.
I love haggis - we have it every burns day and i usually put a few in the freezer for later in the year
I've never had the opportunity to eat haggis but I think it must be like something the locals call "petit paquet", entrails wrapped in entrails, instant sick!
but whet about the eel fisherman, eelers?
Haggis is okay, I can eat it in small quantities. Don't forget that it's probably a big treat for people raised on porridge.
no - its all minced up with oats and seasoning. if you like liver you would probably like haggis and you can get it in synthetic casings
Yes, but they don't eel for eels, they fish for eels.
but you can be eelier
Haggis was only ever cooked in entrails, it's not done like that any more, some plasticky thing instead.
PL, you win, lol
now thats dispusting food - eels - they give me the heebie jeebies
a good new england girl, I eat every single thing the sea offers, and happily so. I think if you fed me eel in a fish dish of some kind, and didnt' tell me what it was, I would happily nosh away. However, if you said "oh, ElizaBeth, try the eel!" I am not sure I could get over the psychology of what I was eating....
*OK*
eel is really really tasty
Lough Neagh, near here, is famous for its eels.
I think Italian food (eels in green jelly) and sushi got me over the "eel thing"
no i would even eat chicken in a tin over eels
Hi all...eel is part of the dinner of seven fishes at Christmas. It's pretty tasty in soup. But then again I wont eat liver.
grilled with a little miso sauce (and a lot of sake) might change your mind
Hello red.
river eels are yummy. sea eels aren't so yummy, but they still taste ok
hi red
morning Red
eel sushi is gorgeous
just "enjoying being up for Daylight savings time and work.....
sake on the side, not on the eel
no way - its not the taste its the concept of eels
You're not presented with a whole eel when you eat eel, just sections.
eels are just fishies!
Long, snaky fishies.
again, as long as I was eating in ignorance, all would be fine
dont care - i can see them wriggling away and thats it
I just don't like to catch them when I'm salt-water fishing. They are large, rown, nasty and have big teeth!
(Ata, do you suppose lots of babblers are heaving at the minute?)
brown
this is a great breakfast conversation!
I love eating marine eels. Revenge for the twice the buggers have bitten me
Random fact, this dog <---------- is making a sound like a pneumatic drill at the minute.
nah, I'm just drinking down coffee....had breakfast earlier with the chickie in a can mess...
did you all read The Tin Drum?
funnily enough when i was younger i had no problems eating conger eels and i think i could now as they are usually served as cutlets
I should really ring a vet to see if there's anything wrong - hold the receiver so they can hear...
awwwwww! snoozy spangle
yes, that's how I learned to NOT catch them in rivers!
only if it's been going on for at least 3 days, Haz
It's been 3 minutes. You think I should wait?
another minute or so
my poor stepmom was swimming in the chesapeake bay one summer, in about chest de4 water, when she saw something floating in the water...she went over to see what it was, and it was a barrel of bait eels that had fallen off a boat. When she turned the barrel to see, all the eels came swimming out and went all through her legs, under her arms, etc. to this day, I cannot understand HOW she did not have a cardiac arrest on the spot. talk of curiosity killing the cat!
youcould rush her off to the emergency vet....
Eeeeewwwwwwwwwww
We are the emergency vet....
Trif, I am surprised she didnt either, ick.
just don't take her to that mean vet that threatened to put her down
that's horrible; I don't think I could survive that!
No, we'll steer clear of him.
red! you can't sleep either huh?
well, Haz, in that case. shes already there. no need to rush.
dreams of eels!
No, I am about to go to work Trif.
is the noise respiratory?
i am off now to do some of the things i no longer have time for in the week, i will try to come back later - only 91 left to get. As an aside I did walk 12 miles yesterday!
wow! EARLY shift!
wow! EARLY shift!
excellent Kazz.
go you kazzer!!!
It's throaty. Seriously, she sounds like one of those drill things digging up the road.
Trif, its daylight savings time today, almost 6 am!
12 miles!
wow Kzz - you need today off! bye
12 miles! wow, I bow to Kazzer!
I'd be worried. But not worried enough until the emergenecy vet is either happily asleep or busy eating dinner
did she swallow something and it's stuck? hairball?
12 miles, and all on one chicken in a can!
my sis's little dog used to get furball things in his throat and make noises like that just before he was sick
ruby, don't worry, she's just happily asleep. Happily and noisily asleep.
or was it 12 miles to get away from the chook in the can?
and very snorily asleep!!
morning sandrafrances
dreaming of rabbits to catch or cats
a bit of both red ;-)
morning diann
UK ladies, did you all already set your clocks ahead? we did it this morning
when max snores, the whole house trembles
sister's dog has had the cast taken off her leg. 8 days of cast for a broken leg. dogs are amazing.
no its not till 27/28 here
No, our time doesn't change yet.
I wonder when ours does?
thank you kazzer. have to remember that when I call the fam in ireland.....
That's brilliant, Ata!
not that it matters
here in the US, it always occurs on the weekend I am working.
Okay, must head off to the kitchen. I'll be back later.
no proper walks for 6 - 8 weeks though .... she's a springer .......
bye for sure now - back later
enjoy the cooking sherry!!
Bye!
bye haz
bye Haz
good bye haz and everyone, I must be off to work. I do so love money.
bye haz
bye red
good morning ruby
bye red
good morning rubyfoo
how are you diann?
this is a juicy grid, first 50 words are a snap! lol
I wish you all could hear the winds we have tonight. they are absolutely HOWLING, and have been for hours. I am sure it will be a festival of downed branches in the morning light
I am fine rubyfoo- how are you?
oooo my fav christmas yumminess is in the grid
save them for firewood for next winter; that's what I do -- i.e. after I stop grieving for the injured little maples
now even Sily is snoring
ca's Ata? don't miss the alternate spelling
good idea ruby! the pine cone count alone is gonna be in the thousands. don't burn those in the chimney, but will do out side in a little pit or something
nooooo st7!!
what happens if yu burn them in the chimney?
but ty for the alt sp5ing
oh yes, mine too actually
now that is *good* food!
is chortle a phantom?
i don't burn any part of a pine tree in the chimney, as it makes gross creosote that gums the chimney up something awful
I didn't know that, city girl manque! lol
de rien!
----> just considering writing a note on my head informing the children I was up half the night with insomnia, so let mommy sleep! (this assumes, of course, that I will fall asleep again tonight at some point....)
use a post-it note!

we have only been home from Worcester for half an hour and are going up to Jamies in half an hour. I will need a weekend to get over the weekend
ferdinand adn isabella, william and mary - both couples who reigned together ...

there are so many 7's; I've never seen this many before
what's nice about this grid is that so many words build on others
There is also a lot of 8's I didn't think I knew as many 7's and 8's lol
OMG I hadn't noticed! this could be a long grid!
I don't think I will be finishing it Katie lol

Yes, just checked and it is used (in this area anyway) for an area of woodland.

utterly intrigued by this Q!
typical, i've already found half the 7s, but I have no 8s yet.....
or the first ch?
Ata, if you go here http://www.johnamos.co.uk and look for woodland for sale, yoiu may find it.
you write them to give folks money
kaz, I think it's a canned chook! lol
I only have one 8 and it is a un 8/50 compound word
ty kaz
ruby, the first ch is the British spelling of what you write to get money from the bank (or used to before machines!)
my head is too American, now I see it
been summoned from above....see you later
:-) well it's only fair because the British among us have to remember to include the US versions.

God calling ruby?
bye bye Ruby, take care
Have you got the qu word yet, ata?

the tree cutters will be very busy this week - business boom

I know -- one of my best friends is an INSANE fan! LOL

hello all, feeling very disappointed. Had entered 80 words or so, but the chog was loading, so I refreshed and lost them ALL!
oops sorry
as you can see i'm guessing!
did it work, harpjane?
that's a bit mean of it stid
I am trying to look at your black cat, harp, but every time I try, my whole screen freezes!
that's what I thought, kate! how are you doing? I see you cleaned your car... need to mine this next week!
hello stid. tell me how to refresh and then I won't!
it went through the carwash actually lmao!
:-D now THERE's a thought!
um, sorry, i think! it's what I put up with twice a day, giving a thyroid pill to a cat who has no idea how lucky she is!
these c's are murder
first ro6?
U"s undone!

Been clearing round the pond, and occasionally standing in it (with wellies on!), so I ac 4/6!
do yu have fish?
No fish, just a wildlife pond, so newts and frogs and lots of other things.
Water beetles, pond skaters and so on, also tiny fresh water shrimps
that's nicer. Ours is a little built-up pond with a fountain in the middle, lots of plants and hundreds of fish.
Should have frog spawn by now but it has been so cold and frozen that the frogs are late doing what frogs do.
we started with 23 tiny coldfish and now there are some that are more than a foot long
gold, not cold. NOW they're cold
they didn't croak in the cold?
no frogs or toads here.
lol, thought it was a breed I hadn't heard of.
they live under the ice all winter
groan ruru.
up to 90 and need the E next to the Qu for NBT. help please?
ruru, you're being silly again! ((hugs))
what's funny is that there must have been fish eggs in some of the aquatic plants we put in and the black fish mixed with the goldfish and now we have every possible combination of red, yellow, white and black, some with fancy fins, some ordinary
frog-sicles
et 4/5 stidmama
what a great pic of rudy, ruru! at first I thought there was snow on the muzzle, then I realized it was just old dog face.
sounds pretty, ruby -- all particolored
thanks sally
and very tame
got it!
et4/5
Oh good, was wondering how to clue it otherwise,
stid to the penalty box. and hi

the dogs drink from the pond (so much for keeping their water bowls clean!) and the fish must think they and my husband are gods

11 to go! bbl!
i am ok kt, but no electricity or heat at my house, so somewhat out of sorts... had to bring my laptop to another house, and may not have electricity till tuesday
Oh, sorry, I meant the 2nd co 7/36.
oh it was sooo lovely. i am a sucker for russian things, having studied in HS and college
my son told me that there is a terrible movie of Jonathan Foer's book Everything is Illuminated!
wow Dorens that's not good, what happened?
oh doren, that storm got to you, too? I know TO was worried her power was going to fail.
go harry go!
An Co***** the ferocious columnist
torrential rains and 60 mph winds... lots of tress up on my hill
ann is a nutcase
hope your power is restored soon
Isn't there one more between the dog and the nutcase?
fewer trees now, I suspect doren?
i don't mind losing electricity for a bit, but a day or two, or three... that's another story. fortunately i can make myself at home at ken's house, and he's in FL so i have it all to myself. my cats will miss me tho
Very true - but she has lent her last name to the grid, for which, thanks.
You're right - a c0-king
many thanks, helensgirl
i saw one down last night, blocked my way to a friend's house,, then found many other roads blocked, so i suspect there were more.. fortunately i only lost some branches, but have had huge oaks come down on two separate occasions... one while i was looking out the window, so i saw it fall (and just miss my house by about 3 feet!)
when our power goes off, we can't even use our telephones
hello dalia
hi there
no, but fortunately cell phones still work
we don't have one :(
hello folks
hi peri
Obviously, even now that I've finished them, I still don't really believe all those c's!
WE keep an old phone for emergencies which we can plug in and doesn't need power.
last night when i got home i wanted to babble and couldn't! so i had to miss the day. found out that even wireless doesn't work when there's no electricity
hi peri
Must go and wave something at the stove. Be back later to finish, I hope - still 67 to find.
see you tomorrow, sally
hey peri
Are you finished ruby? Trouble is, I keep thinking "just one more word".
yes ruby the movie was terrible... only tried to do a bit, so you lost the richness of the characters
I didn't know it existed
it shouldn't have... really really bad
my son is such a snob (lol) that he didn't like Extremely Loud!!!!
oh -- my kids are snobs in a way, but they loved it
I'm re-reading Illuminated now; I want to be called Chapka!
I'm also reading, in a different room, Eating Animals, which will probably change my life
yes! got an 8. almost to halfway...
phone bbl
I just found another good phantom, oracle
later doren

HALFWAY!

I think it needs to be "delta" peri. I know I have tried it several times today

Hello kids.
hey scrabbler
hey cousin! so glad the bunny is better. how are you?
hi scrabbler
hey Scrabbs, how are you and the bunnies
Hi kth--where have you been? Still in Toronto or back in the UK?
kth, below and rent
I am so relieved that Tucker is better! I am going to donate $ at the vet's for the bunny fund.
good idea scrabs
gd nite everybody
back in the UK scrabbler, settling in nicely
I am having a lazy weekend and mourning the end of snow sport season.
sweet dreams ruby. see you again soon.
Bye Ruby
thank you, I'll probably think of the q in the middle of the nite!
I may go for a walk later.
walk? not ski? is it all slush now?
There will be soft snow--tough to ski through. I could snow shoe I guess.
ar6/24?
How are the Stid boys doing?
snow of any kind would make me want to stay inside. I am blissfully relaxing this weekend.
the boys are well. the elder is practicing the trumpet, the younger steadfastly ignoring the trombone...
Tom is up and about "doing" dishes or bread, I think. he's in the kitchen.
a circle, harpjane
I did a 2 hr walk/hike with a friend on Friday--probably 7-8 miles--so I feel as though that takes care of my exercise quota for a few days.
well. down to 98 suddently!
I think I read about that one, scrabs. sounds exhausting!
hm.
Invigorating and then later exhausting--sore muscles and blisters on my feet.
I spent all day yesterday in bed... resting up from the week. And went to the concert in Seattle last night, which was lovely. Tom drove, which was good because I wasn't ready to drive yet -- I really am too old to do "all nighters" at the end of the quarter.
You deserve to rest, Stid.
I think this coming quarter I will be better able to stay on top of things.
what concert stid?
*what kind of all-nighter?* *giggles*
I know, but feel guilty for stilll feeling tired today!
*go Tom go*
I have been doing house chores--laundry, cleaning, painting,...
At Benaroya, the Seattle Symphony. Had a guest conductor, James Gaffigan, and a pianist Ingrid Fliter. VERY fine concert.
Silly Ruru! How is young Dylan?
*stern mama look at ruru*
sounds nice
bbl
*giggles*
later harpjane.
he is great Scrabs..
We're moving house sometime in the next week, very excited
Bye Jane
well, I am stuck at 95 words, and have a personal desire to find the desk next to Tom's chair (where I have been working all quarter). It seems to have been covered by an avalanche of books and papers.,
How old are your girls now, kth?
they're 9, 7 and 5 with birthdays coming up may/june
so see you-all again soon, I hope. Don't be a stranger, kate!
(((hugs to scrabs))) *choclits for all* *Poof*
Bye Stid
bye stid

Hi Doren! I was thinking of you and Owl when I Temple Univ beat Richmond a while ago.
thank you
oh, glad to hear it scrabs. ( tho i pay no ttention to that stuff)
I finally remembered that name of that cake. TY
ruru-- rudy is (was?) lovely
evening, all :)
hello nancy
Hi NB
was.. he was a great, great dog
I love this grid, but it's been an education. My clue for the day would be if you can't find a longish word, add -ed, en, or er to the end of what you last worked on.
Some results are really questionable, but they're accepted so ....
yes mudd, that is frequently the case
I have a new pet as of today. I found a baby mouse in the basement, easily caught him, and put him in an old hamster cage. He is really tiny and now hops into my hand when I put my hand down to his level.
Sometimes -et
Hi hgk
that sounds really cute scrabbler
that, too
hello everyone
Scrabbler, that's the most adorable thing I've EVER heard.
oh this must be the season. my less than talented cat (the male, not lucy) chased one into my bedroom the other morning, chased all around the room, and LOST it!
I know that some people would kill a mouse or reaily put out mouse poison, but I like mice.
Hi Annie
i think they're cute actually, but prefer to see them outside. hi annie
lol, Dorens! Our kitty, Lola, is a bit scared of mice.
I cant stop entering chortle...someone stop me, hi Scrabbs, are you naming the little guy?
hi dorens
we used to have pet mice
i like have-a-heart traps.. then let them out. have a larger one for the groundhogs... and take them to woods
I wondered whether to share my story but I am glad that I did. This wee mouse was slowly exploring the basement--he must have been so confused and lonely and probably recently out of the nest.
Good for you, Doren. I need to get some for the remaining mice residents. I also figured out their entry point from garage to basement and must block that off.
Scrabbs, that's just so cuuute. Are wild mice safe to keep as pets?
anyone have the last ne 6/18?
course if lucy finds them first, that's another story, but she hasn't in a while... guess they haven't been coming into the house as much as they used to
never mind I found it
I thought you would; strange, but easy.
co 7/36 please either of them?
ultra right wing Ann Co*****

hi une... i saw the last station yesterday and think you'd love it
hola
ahh
thanks
hola kje!
I don't see why my little mouse cannot be a pet. I will give him a nice, safe life. He has already run on the mini-wheel.
hola kje
Hi kje

hi kj

cool, dorens! it's still playing at my local theatre -- saw A Single Man recently -- very good

ch6, anger
ch6/24 Love in the Time of Ch****a
i want to see that.. heard colin firth was magnificent in it (and christopher plummer and helen mirrin are incomparable)
love all three!
Helen Mirren is one of my all time favorites
thanks une..
one c left
yw :-)
you'll love last station then... i actually could see it again, and i rarely feel that way
wonderful -- I'll definitely go see it then!
back for a few more words;)
hi crossy
hey, Annie! I have a friend who's flying up to NYC tomorrow for 4 days -- is it still stormy there?
howdy dorens
hi again, crossy :-)
ate bacon marmalade today (my daughter's friend in brooklyn makes it and markets it). have you tried it?
anyone have all the c's?
It is finally clearing...We had many trees upended
eeewwwwwwww
oohh! thats a new one for me;)
some at the door
yikes, Annie!
is bacon marmalade married to Lady Marmalade?
bacon marmalade..mmmm
i have all the c's ruru
can you clue the cr 7? please
oh yesterday in nyc the wind was so wild, une... umbrellas were flying around all over the place! today is still windy, but nothing like that, and only occasional showers
ruru's really wound up today :-)
Ruru, I can say in all honesty that that's the strangest thing I've ever heard here
hey nancy boy :-)
lol glad I hit the high note nancy
ruru - unkinder - drop 2nd vowel and double cons
nancy boy, have you been around when rennie and nut are on at the same time? stranger than that
Hey Une :)
thank you ursh
Dorens, don't believe I know the names! But really, stranger? Just picture the wedding ceremony
Hi Crossy
bbl
hi folks. avoiding work.
hey, feather :-)
Hi Feather
did lickety ever do a list?
ursh, thanks for the pastry :-)
bbl.. kje leave?
No list today
hi all
well, i need to run home and get some clothes for tomorrow... electricity's een out for far too long, and i don't want to wait till dark to rummage along finding what to wear tomorrow (sleeping at friend's house)
At least no Lickety list
she's around
not today but i believe it's in gremlinn's profile
no list .. gremlin's got one
k. i've 110 left, will peck away a bit more.
hi again, TO
wow doren you are still wihtout?
probably till tuesday owl
what happened doren/
here
Hi Owl---I told Doren already that I thought of both of you when Temple beat Richmond earlier today
WHAT?! too bad school doesn't
wow dorens.. how primitive
GO OWLS!
just distracted
torrential rains... 60 mp winds, and i live in a highly wooded area
oh...
can you go stay somehwere dorens?
we lost power for ove an hour, but it was late and gave me a good night's sleep. got tired of reading by flashlight.
it was primitive last night ruru, camping out in my bedroom with a battery operated lantern and two quilts
we have a generator now
gotta go read a diego book to nick, bbl
is your whole neighborhood out?
i am kje... ken's in sanibel but i have the run of the house... not too bad, particularly when i figured out how to reboot his wireless and get on to babble
sounds like girl scouts dorens
Whenever blackouts occur I have great appreciation for those who lived (and still live) without electricity.
actually no, owl, just my block.. which is why i'm not High Priority and will not be done till tuesday
but no s'mores ruru
ruru, you'd appreciate this... i'm at ken's house with his 4,000 bottles in the cellar... many silver oaks, but i want the old french burgundies myself
we have a neighbor that doesn't use electricity
are the cats with you?
he can have the Silver Oaks.. ugh
4000 bottles?!
Why not, Ru?
I am with you on the burgundies Dorens
4000 bottles!!! That takes a lot of space! And are they indexed?
no.. i think they'd be more upset b the move than they are being home alone for a few days. and i sort of agree ru.. silver oak doesn't do it for me, but he's got thousands of dollars worth
*hides under desk*
he has a large cellar, and they are indexed in someway in his head -- he knows what's where... i sure don't
I can't stand Silver Oak ...
I would rather eat pickles all day
actually I'm a happy camper with a nice Cotes du Rhone :-)
it is still raining here
(me too)
TO LOVE your icon!!
he made an obscene amount of money in wall street in the 80's, and put a lot of it into wine at the time. but he is also a generous philanthropist, so it's not all that bad
I can recommend a good one une
okay
une i love nice cotes du rhones as well....
2007 Domaine de la Solitude Cotes du Rhone Rouge ($12)
but when this stuff is around, you don't turn your nose up at it (the burgundies, particularly 82's and 85's)
cool, thanks!
85's... swoon
i cannot seem to develop a taste for wine. how does one? it is too astringent to me.
i'm copying that down as well... i do need my own cellar
here's another une:
fire away, ruru!
2007 Chateau Montmirail Vacqueyras Cuvee Deux Freres ($20)
It is killer...
oooh . . . you know what? I'll get some and take it to UMich for my daughter's graduation!
i'll recommend that one to ken
I'm allowed to give consumables only
there are wines that are not astringent owl
she and her boyfriend don't want to be "burdened with possessions"
It is the best deal in Rhone red from a great vintage that I have found so far
:-D
i never thought of wine as astringent
buy them some bell bottom pants une.. jeezus
thanks much for the recommendations, ruru!
well then i guess i just plain flat out don't like it. as i said, i am not at all knowledgeable about wine as kje and you are
which, the solitude or the 007 Chateau Montmirail Vacqueyras Cuvee Deux Freres?
yew bet
wine, not bell bottoms, that is! LOL
I need to go walk mr. D..later taters
later!
I've never really liked wine either, I don't drink at all now so it suits me quite well!
Bye Ru
the Montmirail is outstanding.. the Solitude delicious and uncomplicated
bye!
I love wine...
I love wine...
me too . . . mmmmm
not big on lima beans howeer..
cool, i'll buy solitude.. he can buy montmirail going home for a while... back later
I like lima beans haha
... and Fireworks!
one of Ruru's nice reds with some nicoise olives, goat cheese, and crispy french bread . . . sigh
be sure it is 2007 vintage Une.. let me know if you can't find it .. I can help you find some.
will do! :-)
hate limas
The wine of the vintage is the 2007 Caillou Clos de Caillou Reservee
freaking expensive however
Gotta go; this took more time than I expected, but lots of fun. See you tomorrow.
Yahoo Merk!
I would rather eat sheetrock than lima beans
TO - i am not knowledgeable AT ALL.. just enjoy it
well, here it would be astronomical then -- Tennessee has ridiculous liquor laws
I don't consume alcohol but I occasionally drink grape juice to get the benefits.
I liked lima beans as a kid, not now though.
ty, ta ta
hope I can find both, ruru -- since this will be a special occasion!
congrats, merk!!
let me know if you can't I can track it down
I am up to 83 and not seeing anything.

There you go Une. I copied the from Gremlins bio this morning incase I had the chance to do the grid but haven't and am not going to start this late in the evening.
ok I put the list in my profile
fmitch, thanks anyway!
FMitch, it wouldn't take you anytime to do this one as speedy as you are. :)
anyone need q's, got them all
Hi Nancy, good to see you, hope all is well with you.
so, FM, can Hobbit and I drop in for tea on Friday?
HI Bichon, Nancyboy and Ata
Oh YES Ata!!!!!
That would be lovely

Hi Ata
hi scrabs!
Hi Scrabs
sorry Sammy, I don't have it
sammy, plural of Scottish lake
hey, sally :-)
thanks sally
Hi Sally
Mom thanks for you post at 3.28 too kind I have my moments but today is not going to be one of them :)
Hi all, have been in and out, now nicely fed and here to finish (I hope).
{{FMitch}} sorry you won't play, but so glad you hopped on to say hello
first ch6?
Hi + TY, Sally!
Evening Sally
uhoh mad 5 minutes time for Silverclaw
Shirlock, hello the first one I have is british spelling for bank notes ... not cash but ch
Hi FM and Scrabbler. Shirlock: what you write to pay a bill, english style
o lord, i even thought about that word
(I was trying to avoid Mom's word for fear of the PB!)
I will te4 my story again. I found a baby mouse slowly wandering around my basement, easily caught him, and will keep him as a pet. I dug out old supplies from hamster/gerbil/mice days.
hmmm, what did I say
Mom, the word with the gerund ending?
oh man! Off to the PB where I have stocked it with Girl Scout Thin Mints
Goodness, Scrabbler! He wouldn't last very long in this cat-full house!
Annie!!!!!
((Mom))) Thin Mints...I will join you soon
scrabs, I used to have a springer spaniel who would run AWAY from mice LOL
{{Annie}} also the he 5/12 greeting
mmm, love mints. Will have to accidentally use a word.
FM!!!!! Wonderful to see you.
annie!!
I have seen evidence of mice in my basement but today I actually saw this one wandering. Poor little guy.
Sally and Annie, make sure it is one I don't have when you "accidentally" use a word
I think it is a male and am thinking of names.
Lovely to see you too, hope all is well with you and yours.
Hi Ata!!!!
Sily ran away from a mouse too ...
oh Scrabbler, I would be freaking out
Scrabbs, are you naming the little guy?
scrabbs, he's looking for his Snuggie!
it's coooold outside!
lol Ata
Why Mom? They are adorable. Yes, the bigger issue is mice in my house and I will work on that with the safe traps and blocking the entrance between garage + basement.
FM, I had a perfectly lousy awful stomach flu for a few days but I am feeling very well now.
Silly Sily!
Ata, we once had a cat who rounded the barbecue and saw a bird the other side., He (the cat) jumped so that all four feet left the ground! Wish I had had a camera to hand.
I do not like rodents of any kind
glad you're all better, annie!
it was very embarrassing
It has been the most lovely spring weekend here, gives one the rememberance that winter will go. Awe so sorry to hear that Annie.
looooooooool!
Initially the mouse was scared and tried to bite me (his wee teeth didn't cause any harm) but now he climbs into my hand.
Annie, I'm sorry you weren't feeling well. Hope you will be on the mend soon
mice are adorable
Yuck, Annie. Stay hydrated.
scrabs, sounds like a scene out of a Disney film! :-)
Scrabbs, Have the bunnies seen the mouse yet?
I will have to take his ic and post it in FB.
I have a pair of field mice living in the garden and I spoted another one the other day (different cos it had a white bottom).
I am better now. Thanks all for your kind comments.
We once had pet mice. It didn't turn out well
The mouse's cage is on a table in Miss Bea's room. Miss Bea might go on alert and thump when the mouse runs on the wheel.
Field mice are cute.
lol Bichon. Morning everyone
This one is brown-grey with a white belly.
field mice are just the cutest
Hi lynxxxie
Hi Lynxxx. How is Monday?
good morning {{{Lynxxx}}}
howdy, lynxxx!
then he should be Radagast. Radagst was Radagast the Brown, to go with Gandalf the Grey
Morning lynxxx
This little guy is about 1.5 cm long, not including his tail.
Is that from Tolkien?
yep
My grandson [7 mos.] is starting to crawl. He got to the cat's water bowl, and guess what hapened
another of the wizards
lol of course scrabs
Ata if you want to stay over on Friday and take pot luck - you are welcome.
Mondy looks nice. Clear blue sky and going to be about 30/86
Oh thanks so much for sharing that lynxxx *not*
Bichon, I am guessing that the cat needs more water now?
lol scrabbler, see you have your priorities right.
I would ... but I have an assignment to finish over the weekend *sigh*
Cat has more water now, and in a higher spot
no probs, will be great to see you and hobbity anyway.
she still looks very smart
I am going to bid you all adieu and Happy Babbling as the old eyes are getting tired.
*hugs hugs*

Night FM
bye bye Lynxxx
Bye all *poof*

bye bye {{Annie}}
The first ne 6 is a girl's name, used to be used as short for Ellen
thx sally
The second ne 6 - extend the ne 5/10 before it by adding a vowel.
just got it, sally thx
np
TY for first clue. I am working on ne5 now so I can make ne6.
does anyone have a clue for pe 8/50? I have been looking for that one for ages
Which N shall I work off of for ne5/10?
pt of the 6 before it
top one
TY, Ata. I found both.
Clue for the pe6 first?
shirlock, was that pt of the 6 before it for the pe8?
Small bullet Scrabbler, such as from a shotgun
yes, annie
I dont even have the pe6?
first pe6 is pt of the one before it
TYTYTY!
TY, Sally
I am almost halfway...*SIGH*
the pe 6 is small things, either bird feed or gun ammo
Sallly, thanks so much for the pe6
and thanks, shirl, also
np - working my way through the Rs at the moment
I can't believe I have just been walking my Techie Computer husband through how to use a particular website
Duh, Ata, you are smarter than him!
Yay, Ata!
Good for you, Ata!
he just doesn't like to *try* things he doesn't know
Ata, I didn't know you were married! *sighs* so there is no hope for me then?
it's really so he can blame me if it goes wrong LOL
I think Leo and the kitty might object ....
Hobbit too.
true that ;)
wow, quite a number of qu7s
I passed halfway! 142/137. I need a break. This grid has made me nearly brain-dead.
Hi Seain
hello, scrabbler :)
Later, Scrabbs and hi dc
married at the moment ... it might be a different matter rather soon!
njoy ur break
hi, annie, ata, and NB
Watch out Nancy Boy - then she'll have you for breach of promise!
Hi, Seain! :)
lmao :)
it's okay Sally, I don't think I'm *quite* her type ;)
firebirds!!
did Summer Time start in EU also last night?
I'd never have guessed :-)
YAY for Atalante!!!!!
woo-hoo!
congrats, ata!
no dc
Congrats Ata!
ah, when does it begin over there?
2 weeks time I *think*
cool, i'll look it up, and try to recall that it's only 4h later there for now :)
I hate these few weeks of difference, it's very confusing
i'd rather stay in this time year-round. we only spend 20 weeks/yr on so-called standard time.
ditto
the dried tortellini Tom bought are truly awful.
i'm wondering if a good pesto would make them any better. one bag left to try that.
you should live here Seain...we are too poor to afford alcohol AND food, guess which we choose though ;)
we plenty of alchol - i plan to follow the horrible pasta up with some Wild Turkey
and my typing indicates that my fingers think i've been imbibing already LOL
ro5 after dice thrower?
LOL Seain. There is a similarity..
ro 5/14 something spoiled + we **at in the log
to, luv
thx luv
yw
at least you can get decent tequila up there, NB. It's impossibel in Kent!
huh. that st5 is valid w/out an A in front
clue please for the qu 9/55. my monkey is so tired
i hate tequila, and we an get some real good stuff.
8/55 that is
there's no q9 sammysmom
plural the 7/40 before it
I always say Ata, if you can't find it anywhere, you can find it in London
we get crap tequila. I only know one shop that sells decent stuff and that's in Soho
what do you like, some can be sent.
absolutely!
email me, if you'd like
I'm surviving till I move over there, then I can buy Patron at a price that doesn't kill me!
but if I get desperate, I will - ty!! :)
ah, planning to stay in Oregon?
if the government will let me ...
yes, the hard part that. Having worked for Customs, i know all about that.
I *think* I can get a visa for visiting academics. I'm hoping anyway. At least for a few years
if it helps, ata, you have a whole lot of very impressive babble friends who will vouch for you
may it be so
of course, it won't help, but it's still nice to think about
oh yes ... if only it went on friends and how much they wanted you over there!
still do not see the qu8/55..there is no way to make o plural of the 40 i havde before iut
qu8 is plural of an odd-to-me qu7.40
use a different 40 then
there are 2 n's Sammy
a shhhhhhy one!
to make someone silent and then plural
It isn't really a plural, but a mother qu8 her child by singing to it softly.
i've never heard nor seen that qu7.40 before, sally. Is it used in England?
oh yes, to qu7 something down
to make someone silent? Yes, are you sure you are thinking of the right word?
i ned the que 8/55
take the qu 5/16 add 2/3 of the number after nine and then add plural letter
and we've just been clueing it ;)
Sammy - there re 2 n's - one is near the bottom
I think Sammy must be looking at the wrong Q word
ohhhh, I need to decide what to wear this evening. I wish I had a virtual wardrobe so you all could help me decide!
wear red.
where you going?
If you were in Melbourne you would wear black
last st6?
is one who grows sp5.12 a sp7.32?
probably just to heaven or something Seain :) few clubs and the like.
is that after the German cake, shirl?
yes, dcseain
hm. black pants/shoes, bright white shirt and a snappy vest or blazer?
st + r**** the garden
evening everyone
oh, i had that. LOL sorry for not cluing. oft starts with A that st
evening, katie
hi Katie
very classic ;) might have to doll it up a little though - there's been some issues on the door of heaven because now they won't let you in if you look "too straight"
Hi Katie
hm. that ast5s me, but dolling up is easy.
hmmmmm I can see why they would want to keep the majority of people in the club gay but isn't it difficult to decide who looks 'too straight'?
some fun eye makeup could do well with that.
yeah, that's kinda where i was katie.
yep! and who am I kidding...I could never get mistaken for being too straight.
Lol NB at least you will always get in. Need to be careful who you take with you though!
i have a lovely turquise African Suit that might work.
Bye all, BBL. Have fun tonight Nancy
bye lynxxx, see you tomorrow
night lynxxx
you're right, Katie...I don't know how they do it. I think it's just something to do with general outrageousness. which is strange, because you wouldn't expect such a strange stereotype from a gay establishment.
Seain, I like the way your mind works.
hello all
I've had a straight friends that had to beat men off with a stick (he just had that 'look' which was nothing to do with the way he dressed) and a gay friend who no one would believe was gay, very difficult for both of them. I thought they should go out on the town together and swop who they attracted lol
not even half way. ugh. hate long grids like this.
ooh, fireworks! Don't know how that happened, it just sort of crept up on me :-)
slow grid for me 90 left
congrats sally
I'm not even half way peri
congrats, sally!!
Tell them it's a new gay fashion statement, FB
Sorry, FB should read NB!
st6 the last one? I didn't get your earlier clue sally
I'm shattered after a long weekend so I have no chance of finishing
LOL Katie! Luckily, I'm a ticket of entry. Leo maaaay get stopped but I shouldn't have a hard time convincing people he's with me. and well done, Sally!!
it's not a hard grid, katie, just long
help with last de6 pls
my last c is a co7/36 it is the second co7/36 or the third co/7 any help please
st 6/24 rhymes with what a circle is
NM was looking in wrong direction
de 6/24 is what you take when you're off routed because of construction

No idea who your conservative is Une - any other clues for that one?
ty for the co7s :)
congrats, speed, still have 8 to go . . . ugh
oh, sorry, becca, she's someone I love to hate . . .
anne co7 - that co7 is a surname
hmmmm
yes, with you on the hating her, une
ugh ugh ugh
ditto here with not liking her
OK, try this: co plus I have eaten, so I am f88l, then I might go and see the film the 888minator.
Sorry, the 8s should be **
to clue tho, take the co** (young horse) add a vowel, then add hesitation sound
Thanks Sally and Shirl.
Oh, better clue than mine, Shirlock!
55 to go -- taking a break to watch some tennis *poof*
I'm off too, unless anyone needs any more clues
'kay, all dressed up and ready to go. Love this shirt - it's white but really sheer, so you can see my tattoo through it!

dr5, Wilma, very dr5. The Flinstones is only reason i know that word.
Tom says i coddle the cat. ah, well
really? didn't know orson bean?
what's orson bean?
a very dr*** guy
ah, just read up on him. his stuff mostly predated me and didn't make into reruns in my life.
my son and i saw a cartoon in the NYer that had as it's punchline "Can't you see I am trapped by a kitty?"
will have to check out some of his work though, sounds interesting
LOL jmc, yes, i can relate to that.
he made wally cox look like slapstick
she surprised me yesterday, i slid her off me into chair, and she kept sleeping.
oh, cool!
so our house now has the ru** that if you are trapped by a kitty the other person has to get everything
:D as it should be, jmc
that would work here, if she'd ever lay on Tom. They're an awful lot a like, which makes it awkward. Last night, she was curled up beside me on the bed. He sat down, petted her, and she hopped down, for example.

i have qu5 6 5 7 7 5 7 7 5 7 5 7 7,,misssing three more
There's a present tense qu8 among the silencing words.
thanks haz!
Have you got the set with the old-fashioned pen or the patchwork thing women like to sew?
that was two-fer
both of those...I think it's another 5
qu5,6,5,7,7,5,7,7,8,7,5,7,7,5,7,7.
ty for my last qu7, haz
The old fashioned pen - qu5/16, descriptive qu7/44, the little alien ending qu7/40.
now, only 86 more to go :)
Glad to help, dc.
got em'. thanks for the list
You're welcome, Pav, glad it helped.
little alien ending?
I have 84 and only 35 mins beofre my shower (things to do and places to see this eve)
hey PAV, my son will be attending MSU this fall

Stephen Spielberg's alien who appeared in the film. Two letters for his initials.
having much trouble with morewords. anyone else having a problem with it
thanks. =)
You're welcome, as.
It's working okay for me, peri. Just checked.
i just read about crewelwork. Years ago, a friend had a jewish wedding. A bunch of us were sent 10x10 inch squares to decorate and send back, which she and her mother and sister qu7 into the huppa. I was the only one who did needlework, which surprised me and her both.
Phone.
tell him to invest in a pair of good supportive walking shoes...and if they still sell bus passes (for the on-campus system - if it's still ar6 - buy one, he'll thank you later)
i've not had a problem, peri
thanks for the advice PAV
msu- ole miss?
it took me the whole year to see ALL of campus...encourage him to make the time, it's a great place to be and learn
what did other people do then Seain. Nothing?
Mich State..or Montana State or Miss State or Missouri State..any MSU is good...
fabric pens, applique, or iron-on
hi folks- does anyone have all the lu's? I have 4/5 and 5/12 - gremlinn's list says there are two more - help, please?
yeah, I'm having to convince him somewhat since he's always been in a small school environment, he's rather intimidated by the largness
another lu5 16 and pt for the 7
lu5/16 - to move in awkward fashion and its past tense.
i grew up in huge schools, went to a big Uni, too.
thanks, Haz!
I grew up in ADrian..Lenawee County..talk about small
You're welcome.
ty, haz and pav
Addams Family Butler...
well I find it ironic, he's going to major in international relations and wants to work overseas but wants to go to a small university...go figure
How large is large and how small is small in US terms?
I believe the population of Michigan State University is 45,000+
my middle school had 2200 students, and the HS i opted out of had 5000
uni had only about 15000
and he was looking at a private university with under 5000 students but the cost was prohibitive
my sister's uni had only 5000
his graduating class from high school with be under 100
my HS class was 400...I was #39, but only because I got a C in AP Calc...I hated it...and eventually ended up taking calc six times over the course of my BBA and MBA..is it ne4ed...NO!
Those school sizes are huge by British standards.
friend of mine got a JD/MS in Int'l Relations from the Fletcher School of Tufts/Harvard.
sounds impressive dcseain
typical for at least this part of Virginia those sizes. The smalles school in my district graduated 96 students the year i graduated HS, the largest graduated 1800.
it's a good program. he went on to work for cell companies, doing pricing and marketing, and is working on a PHD in history, with an emphasis in the religious history of Wales.
stats is so much easier than calc, in my opinion
well at least when he's at MSU he'll be attending James Madison college which specializes in Internatinal Relations so his core classes will be in a smaller environment but his math, science, etc. will be on the larger campus
414 in my HS class
hello...co 7/36 clue pls (2nd from last)
co-monarchs are co7s
7 in my HS class
have him try MSU for the semester/year...it amy seem large but if he focuses on what he likes, it becomes very small...the football games are huge! and the social aspect was fun as well...
co7/36 - one who reigns in partnership with another
co 7/36 co + the leader of a country
for real, KJE? did you go to a private school?
thanx Haz
yes
Has he taken any AP classes to opt out of basic courses?
yes PAV I think once he get used to it he'll be okay
i was valedictorian... LOLOLOL
ah, that makes sense :)
You're welcome, kim.
he attended a school that teaches the International Baclaurate program so he should get college credit for some classes
he'll be able to take a higher French class since he's had four years of French already and probably a higher Spanish having completed 2 years of that
that's good...I took four AP exams, was given advanced credit for three (not for Calc though), as a freshman, my Soc elective was Jr level political history of US..
nbt ... 160 left ,,, bbl
rats, this grid is endless, bbs
my SPanish TA was from Puerto Rico, and hated that I didn't use an accent for my (spanish) surname...she downgraded me for it...and I never took another spanish class again
well sounds like a picky teacher to me
co7/36?
nm...that was lame - LOL
she also didn't like me using words not in the vocabulary, even though they are accepted
conservative Anne Co.....
i took a test in uni, and they gave me 12 credits of Spanish and told me to start in that coursework at eh 350 level.
i never found it fruitful to argue with teachers just for the sake of pissing them off, pav
what an ass of a TA you had, pav
or brother king
I did have fun one class though, arguing the whole class away, the others were glad 'cuz most had not studied
it wasn't so much a ne4 to be fruitful in arguing, because yes, they have the final say unless it's pretty bad, but this was about my name, and that I am half Puerto Rican and my family never uses an accent
that was for the co, kje
ty italian
I think I would have to argue about how to spell or accent my last name too. My maiden name was unusual and I always had to explain and spell it but I was still proud of it
some surnames have differently pronounced accented and unaccented variants, e.g. Vásquez and Vasquez
I had a similar event in my MBA (first class on Ethics) where I argued that speaking in class about anything, just for the sake of hearing whether one can find articles to support a lesson or topic of interest, is not a good judge of a person's caliber. The "required speaking or relating of news articles" was not in the syllabus, and she used these as part of the grade. I told her in front of the class, "I come by my brown nose naturally", and if we didn't have "ethic" in our bones by then, her class wouldn't matter....

Here is my story of clues to te 4/4 today.I do not te 4/5 to be a lurker, however, when I en5/10ed Babble today, I was a qu 5/16 lurker. I dove de 4/6 into the grid today. I sp4/5 through the 1st 140 words.I was re6/18less to finish the grid. But my monkeys put me through he 4/5 today because they would not le 4/5 me a hand & I could not depe4/6 on them. They went haywire and I could not get them un 5/14 ontrol. So I prayed to the Lo 4/5 to help, but that did not help lo 4/4 either. So I re 6/21 on clues from chog. So now I consider this grid nu 4/5 and void. This grid gave me a head ac4/6.My head ac 5/16 long after I quit grid. After 158 words and 1986 points, I still didn't make a de 4/5 in graying any tiles. After I quit,I went to the de 4/5 to get some lunch. Then I just sp 4/5 the rest of the day hanging out ar 6/24 the house & watched tv. I would like to end this story by telling you that I st5/10 a list from gremlinn & put it in my profile.Well it is that ho4/6 when I have to pe4/5 my eyes of the computer and take my shower. Th 4/5 I am going to go get under my bed sh5/12s and nice warm qu 5/16.

and well done stid! I think it is great that the kids gave you a B. It means they understood it but were still being loyal to their regular teacher whom they love without wanting to say it.
:-D yep, that's what I thought. They are good kids.
It is hard for student teachers to jump in and teach one lesson because you don't always know how well prepared they are for the info.
good for you, stid! yay!
thanks pippin!
howdy babble buds. just came back to finish. may i get a clue please for my last word? ch6/33
well done stid -- being able to establish a rapport with the kids is 90% of what teaching is all about.
I know Bugs -- the nice thing was it was a new unit, and I got to choose what to focus on and how to teach it!
((nan)) thanks! wasn't sure you were still there!
hey Do Do!
hey stiddie
I am going to teach a mini lesson each week from now on! (the teacher was that pleased!)
anyway, I am nervous about my faculty evaluation conference tomorrow, but hopeful I will get a "solid B" (they don't give letter grades actually)
ch6/33 clue pretty please?
Of course the teacher is pleased with the student she got. It is YOU and you love what you do and you love the kids. That is what makes a good teacher

ch 6 is a british word for the paper you draw on your bank account
or what nan said, concisely.
