It's funny - Donnybrook is also a suburb of Dublin. Maybe people were feeling homesick or just lacking in imagination when they named it?
We have 8 acres in Banjup where we live in our shed, and a house in Nedlands which we rent to students
it is amazing, Haz, the number of names in australia that refer to former places of living.
it was named after the Dublin Donnybrook by Irish explorers who thought the area looked like home - must have been in the winter when its all green and lush
Homesick, we generally lack a lot of imagination in the naming of our States and Cities
