what funds your medical expenses then flosey?
yes
almost everything is covered
is it included in your taxes?
we do pay an insurance but that is nothing compared to the horrendous expense of hospitalization, etc

Good going, Kazzer.
Hello everyone
Good morning, lynxxx.
America is not a phantom!
peach - am 6 - a + the quality of ****y is not strained + a vowel - then make it a doing word for 1 7 and past tense for another
Thanks so much, Kazzer.

I think I need to fininsh this later....have 32 left and am, oh, so sleepy. Thanks for the help.....good luck with the grid.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY everybody! They don't celebrate in France (no green beer), but they certainly did in NY where I grew up!
right i am off to work - see some of you later - have a good day
ERIN GO BRAGH ruby
I love St. Patrick's Day
bye kaz you too
they didn't celebrate in Miami, either (I wonder why) but I miss it.
husband's mother's birthday..her father called her his little Irish Mick..she was called Mickey for the rest of her life
her real name was Ethel Annabelle
my first married name was kelley and I've kept it ever since!
has anybody here seen kell(e)y?
I'm Irish at heart
and the song "Take me out to the ball game" was from the who Little Nelly Kelley, my nickname ever since
will you have corned beef and cabbage for the visiting daughter?
That's right !! I love the beginning of that song but hardly anyone sings it
she'll probably be tired, but will make a roast chicken. You can't get decent corned beef here
we'll be having it with friends..their house can smell lol
will she be arriving late?
my mother used to call it New England Boiled Dinner
that's pretty much it
she is already on the ground in Geneva, but I'm making her take a bus from the airport! Mean Ruby!
I always include beets so I can make red flannel hash with the leftoverw
that's not mean..I'm sure the bus is very nice
that sounds wonderful! I love beets.
not like the old rattle trap in Romancing the Stone
hey America is here
doesn't work lol
y son taught me a way of roasting plain beets, unpeeled, for two hours, letting them cool in the oven. Then peel them, add crumbled feta and oil, vinegar and oregano. Fabulous!
oh that sounds awesome
and very easy
we grate raw beets into our salad sometimes
what temp for the roasting? low and slow?
200C but I don't think it;s sensitive. When they "give", they're done
sounds so much better than our canned variety
I didn't eat any beets but jarred pickled ones 'til I grew up; the canned ones my mother served were inedible
love pickled beets..roommate's mother used to use the juice to pickle hardboiled eggs too pink and pretty
here it is possible to buy cooked, cleaned, clightly pickled ones. I then slice onions, garlic, turnip and add my own pickling brine and put it in jars in the fridge.
I'm coming to your house I think you have so many good things to eat
do you grow any vegetables?
except that I've become tired and lazy and don't cook every day - husband is willing to eat leftovers, so I do one big thing a week and he eats it for days
yes, great tomatoes, radishes and lots of berries and sometimes plums
we do the same thing..still cook for six lol
and he likes spicy food, so his stuff lasts longer....
I cook when the mood hits
that's it, westford!
I'm not a spicy food person..Jon is
emir
that's right ! lol
whoops - is there coffee in the pb?
I cook 3 dinners: one for him, one for me, one for dogs!
I think so also toll house cookies and corn muffins right out of the oven
wow you run a little restaurant
and then I collapse!
will his daughter need another meal as well?
but at least the dogs are smiling
we have cats and the price of their food is out of sight
I'm thinking of cooking for them too
I make beef heart risotto with some chicken and cauliflower for the dogs plus they get Purina kibble which costs 4X more here
I am distrustful of commercial animal foods since the Chinese debacle
that really sounds good
they also get brewers' yeast for their coats
if I sit up and beg may I have some risotto too?
that's good for keeping fleas away too
I don't even remember what cats eat as it's been so many years since I had one
with or without parmesan
they do come around whenever I open a can of tuna lol
both ways
hahah
good risotto takes a long time
at least it does when I make it
mine is ersatz risotto
if it tastes like the real thing who cares?
regular + brown rice, bouillon cube, various meats and cauliflower -- takes about 20 minutes prep and 20 mins cooking
they've never had the real thing
they'd probably bite me if they knew what they're missing
you should post the recipe
you think?
I'll do it after I get back from DIL stuff.
yes !!
okay good luck with that
Ruby has the best coat anybody has ever seen. Fortunately, there are no furriers around here
she's pretty in her picture
bet she gets brushed often
and Max too
have you always had Chow Chows?
I comb her sometimes but Max won't let me comb him. His front end is gorgeous; the back end is a scrawny mess
oh I would think he would like the attention
no, he's autistic, and I'm lucky her even lets me snuggle a little
he*
poor baby
Ruby, on the other hand, gets cuddled/stroked/combed for an hour a day
who is older?
he's doing much better, though, since I put him on Prozac (thank you, Temple Grandin!)
Ruby is a year older and "mothers" him a lot
have you had him since he was a puppy?
must go now. Thank you for the chat, westford
thank you too ruby I'm heading for bed..
I wish you a happy visit
he arrived from Canada at 4 months and we knew immediately that there was something wrong but the breeder denied knowing anything about it. I think that, in order to breed black chows, they do too much inbreeding.
we had another black one, and she died of a heart problem at two
he was lucky he came to you then
I think that's why the breeder, from whom we had already purchased 4 chows over the years, knew that. She figured that anybody else would have put down that remote but beautiful boy
I wonder if the plane ride traumatized him
I don't think so as all the others came from there, too
give him a gentle hug from me
one day I'll tell you about our daughter's cat..she's a strange one
but right now I'm gone 'poof'
hello all - Ruby I did'nt know that black chows are rare
I suppose a bit like chocolate Labs also I believe quite difficult to breed
Hey again all <3
Hello Ruby. How do?
and good morning all.
back for a minute
hi scouser
most chows are either cinnamon or shaded blonde, like Miss Ruby
black is beautiful, but from my (limited) experience, I think it's not such a good idea
Ruby my parents kept dogs and always said that chows need to be one-man-one-dog types?
who knew?
not ours! They have been the most gentle of dogs. They are not outgoing except very selectively and the first one didn't like men with beards (or black people)
Ruby and Rosie (our long-dead first one) were very protective of me but loved my husband just as much and also a few other people
they are, however, more like (very large) cats in their independence and stubbornness
we had a cat who hated white socks - we had permanently scarred ankles and toes for years
that's a riot!
it was very specific. grey or patterned socks were fine.
she must have been very smart!
argyles?
argyles ok too
the only person Rosie ever bit was a bearded vet but I didn't like him, either
I didn't bite him, though
my son built from Lego a large boat that just fitted in the bath and floated. There is a photo of said cat sailing in the bath.
please send it and I'll send it to my son who was a Lego fanatic when he was little
my address is in my profile
Will do. I will have to find it first amongst my 3000+ real photos non-digital.
It is a nice morning here - crisp sunshine and birds singing so I will bestir my stumps and go outside. I did gardening (shifting last years leaves) two days on the run. Time to make it three. Byee

Soodle! Top o'the mornin' to ye me good lass.
Hey Mollyo! Just finished my 'Full Irish' breakfast, and preparing to go to town...... Sure and begorrah, twill be a grand day altogether!
I put a few wee drops of Irish in my coffee this morning and belted out a chorus of "A Nation Once Again". Twill be a grand day indeed.
LOL. There is a daft raft race down the River Boyne shortly, then the parade, then maybe a spot of shamrock-drowning to follow. I love Paddy's day!!
Ah, the most glorious over sixty woman in Hollywood is in the grid today.
The woman who played The Queen?
Yes. St. Helen Of Mirren. I adore her.

Poor Jes. Somebody sing her an irish lullaby.
I still cry when his mother dies.
I think I'm the only person in the world who hasn't seen that movie.
I cry at all the Disney movies - I am such a sap...my kids laugh at me
Mine won't let me watch Dumbo at all.
oh, it's not for lack of trying to sleep, judi... things just keep happening to wake me up. latest was the upc on the computer deciding to squeal for no apparent reason at 6...
so i gave up on trying to get back to sleep anymore.

cwestexan, I am from Muleshoe....you anywhere near there??
i am from Big Spring
Ah....my college roommate was from Big Spring
I live in San Antonio right now
just got ic 6 - my grandfather was one of these in NYC
i probally knew them ... I have lived here all my life
Last name Hale
jbv, your grandfather did hard work
It's strange to think way back to when people needed a visit from the ic6.
he was a strong guy, Annie - he lived to the age of 92 (died in 1977) - what a character!
i knew several people with that name
used to impress us as kids by cracking a walnut between his thumb and forefinger
Time for a break. 23 left. BBL. *POOF*
Parents were John and Marie. Marie died just last year in Llano, aged 98!
bye, judi
jbv, he must have been very colorful...my friend's father was an ic6 and we used to watch him hoist the ice onto his back and march up the stairs...we all loved him
bye judi
yes, there are many stories about that - he lived in Astoria but his ice route was in NYC, used to take the ferry, pick up horses at the stables on 92 st., (back in 1910s, 1920s)
mo + word lexicographer's delight: ***tion*ry
Hi BR
hi BR -hi Boo
Hello
taking a break - be back soon
Hi JBV
thanks, bab
elderly government health insurance COUNTS?!!
and how is mo6 not a proper noun???
the one brabble just clued? it's the plural of a latin word for a little bit - a *****um of decency, for instance
oh, ok, the only definition I saw was a town in Italy. I am mollified :-)
I objected to me8 earlier. That is most assuredly a proper noun. Enable is on crack.
i was all excited to do it as a proper noun, and then, nooo, it counts. lol
lol, molly, I don't have the me8.
enable IS cracked! Hi all, just opened chat.. off to get some bfast, brb
100 down -- need a break before listing
have fun, nan
see my outrage at 9:10, uusue
Molly - it isn't always used as a proper name...sometimes, it's just a term used for any country's government sponsored health system.
me 8? - a clue please?
thx, hurshy, I saw it but was suffering a brain fart at the time.
it's what's paying my dad's hospital bills, nan
Hi uusue and Nan and hurshy and whoever else I missed
oh -- got it! It may be a proper noun here, but to many of us in other countries it is not
so... anyone feel like cluing the other 8's and/or the 9 ?

(It is helpful to me to write about it)
Slue, what a lovely picture of your mom

***sorry, Sue (I have a weak ring finger, right hand, and often l will just suddenly appear in my typing! sorry I didn't pick it up before sending the message
lol, flosey, I didn't even notice!
usue,You must have been heart broken when your Mother died..
yikes - almost sounds like the kids are controlling what your step mom does - she doesnt sound well enough to be doing this on her own - sorry to hear of these troubles for you and your Dad but glad he is doing well physically
It was tough. I was 22, and starting my second year of graduate school.
uusue, what a lovely picture of your Mom...hope your Dad is holding up well re: the divorce papers
well, of course it would sue, no one ever replaces your mother, and good that you have such fond memories
River, that is what my dad is afraid of. I hope it really is what she wants; otherwise she is going to wake up some day and really regret what she's done.
thx, annie, he seems to be doing at least as well as I am :-)
why Michigan - she has family there?
uusue, were you Dad and your stepmother married a long time? Why, a divorce, at this stage of their lives?
that is too bad that at their ages they cant work things out

enjoy flosey
be back tonight at flip time
yes it is a weirdo day...we had 2 blackouts yesterday in the complex where I live and we have had no hot water since yesterday...craving a shower
I nominate re8 as the weirdest of the day. Go ahead, use it in a sentence. : P
i think i am off to eat some aspirin and do some work
oh Annie, that is very frustrating
I'll second that one Molly
i had my house extermination to well twice so once again i have to re8 it! lol
lol, jmc!
funny, jmc
the animal rights people burned down the lab again to we had to re8 it!
endless opportunities
now some else can come up with a sentence for the ra7
dictionary lists it as a noun that is archaic (imagine that) meaning the flying mammal - I saw the re8
re8 means bat?
i am afraid of re8!
that's what it said
They were my son's favorite animal - did a project on increasing understanding of them
there was a rabid bat epidemic in my neighborhood when i was about 4 and i have been afraid of them ever since
yaaa crossy got a re9;))..does happy dance....
oddly i have had bats in my current house 3 times (that i konw of)
wd crossy
Was you son a ballplayer?
bb soon
cy 4x2
The doctor at the Boston Marathon is the ra7, jmc
an avid soccer player - still is at 31. No we are cavers and see many bats in caves. Many caves are closed during the winter because bats use them to hibernate. Rabid bats are unusual - like other rabid animals.
interesting little grid so far;)

Hello!
diane was saying that arizona does not observe the time change..parts of our east coast also do not do the change
interesting word indeed sue
hi, car.!

tc riverdance
Bye River!
Hi uusue!
just paid off my son's Sallie Mae loan (one of the biggest rip-offs out there, IMHO - I would avoid Sallie Mae like the plague in the future). Thanks dad!!!!
we just put our sons child tax credit every month into canada savings bonds, they have a 7 year maturity and should see him through college
we can buy them once a year in october i think
nice, crossy - due to a couple of lousy ex-husbands (one of whom was my son's dad) I had no savings, so had to borrow.
;((
Our employer paid for half of the tuition rate at Wesleyan for any college. Great bonus
no university i am afraid 60,000 dollars for 4 years is out of the question ,but i do thing with college,he will learn enough to find his way in life
wow, that's great, bichon! My son is now attending NIU for half tuition (full fees, though) and living at home, so I can cover it even without savings.
what is your son studying sue?
I shudder to think about what it will be like when my boys are ready to go.
it was his 2-year degree in audio engineering from a for-profit school that really broke the bank (but it got him started on a career path, so was worth it)
We basically only had to pay for room and board, Wesley's tuition covered what was charged at State Universities. These days, State Universities charge a lot more
now he is studying electrical engineering, crossy
*Wesleyan
uu, a least he'll get a job
you mother was a very beautiful woman sue you must be a bombshell eh? lol
can anyone clue me the re8 plz? Just can't seem to get it.
yes, I think so, bichon (as long as he actually graduates - which I'm sure he will. He does still have flashes of irresponsibility but they are becoming less and less frequent)
again and again small rodents, sandie
lol crossy, maybe when I was younger - she was indeed quite a looker!
Sandie, think of a track meet + THE FIRST THREE LETTERS OF WHAT YOU TAKE IF YOU ARE ILL
Sorry for caps
that was the re7, bichon
uu Boys have a loooong maturation curve
thanks for that one. Strange one indeed.
actually the ra7, brain is starting to dissolve
yes, I've notice that, bichon, my son's dad still hasn't gotten there and he's 64 :-(
that was the ra 7
re 8 is re + ditto + small rodents

Car, that is me Molly who sent the friend request at Facebook. We must discuss House. Hoo boy!
i will stay 25 forever,i call it as i see it;)
Ooooh! OK! I haven't seen the one from Monday yet....
I'm a week behind. I'm talking about the one where Cuddy gets the tumor.
i have a HUGE crush on Jesse Spencer!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMM
Oh OK! I am up to date on that one!
yummm is right
I told you...I was screaming at the TV screen at the end of that episode!
: p
she was NUTS to dump him for that. i mean, really, this is the first time in his life that he's tried to be there for someone else. so he needed a little chemical help. it was a huge situation. with practice, he'll get so he can be there for her without the chemical help.
Cuddy is nuts! Lets send her to the institution!
mmmm cuddy....
no, I totally agreed with what her character did.
Hursh, I have a totally different take on it. I think Cuddy finally realized that she had been deluding herself about being in love with an addict. What she said to him at the end was classic. "It's always going to be about you."
Yup.
well i think if she was going to dump him for that, she might as well have stuck with the dependable lucas in the first place. he was cute also.
clue for em 6 please
Yesterday, the pilot episode was on...they were all such babies then!
I still don't have it boo!
em 6 - em + comparative ending + r** and reel club

ok, i've been hoping I'd figure it out and not have to ask, but what's nbt and nbs?
May I please have the stats for the second N word from the top? I have the goose.
nbt = no blank tiles. meaning I found at least one word from each tile that has words from it
NBT = no blank tiles
NBS = No blank stats
nbs = no blank stats. meaning I found at least one word of each length
thanks

i got in trouble today because i was talking about people they started it
fiddlestix, to answer your question about a good score - it's not really a competitive game in that the number of words (and therefore score) changes every day and you have no way of knowing at any time what anybody else is doing.
i am sooo horrible at figuring out clues.. lol
your teeth so messed up it look like it is playing musical chiars
ummm, we dont do that here liliion
hmm

gee, I have never seen such strange words before
yup, there are a lot words here that one would not use in normal conversation
that's for sure
or any conversation...................
Hmmmm...I see it's Spring Break. : P
hey all ((saanich))
Hello, stidmama.
*Throws choclits at Stid as she flits in the grid*
hello Haz! long time no see -- how's everything out your way?
LOL thanks Molly!
That was almost Dr. Suess-ical of me.
clue for re 4/5
hi again, all! In my office now playing with brand new computer :-)
Oh fine, thanks. I've got one daughter just arrived in New York to see how they celebrate St Patrick's day over there.
lots of paper, boo
Oh Haz, what fun for her!
hey sue!
re4/5 - to carry out an action again.
that WILL be fun, Haz -- I hear the streets run with green beer... or is that Boston? LOL
I know, she's gone with 3 friends to visit another friend from school who's working in New York for 18 months.
hi, stid! Actually Chicago dyes the river green for St. Pat's day.
Sue, new computers are lots of fun.
for real? *tries to imagine a green river*
For real, stid!
around here all the waterways are a thick brown color -- all the rain has caused an inordinate amount of runoff this month *sad mama look*
Google pictures of it sometime Stid. It's pretty cool.
info and pictures: http://www.greenchicagoriver.com/
And because she is a Chicago girl, Michelle Obama has them dye the water in The White House fountain green for St. Patrick's Day.
Funded by the plumbers' union, apparently.
that is pretty cool, molly and sue!
They've announced a visit to Ireland by the O'Bamas later this year.
*thinks it should be "the green house" today*
LOL Haz! that's what I thought when I saw the news this morning
It will be interesting to see how it all works out.
speaking of the O'Bamas, my SO's last name is O'Barski - kind of an Irish Pole.
hello everybody. Is there green beer in the PB?
*sets up green beer, green wine, and green eggs and ham in PB*
No Ruby, but there is Irish Lager.
clue for re8 please
again and again small rodents, boo
lots of loggers in these parts, Ruby -- Irish, Hawaiian, Hillbilly... *wicked mama grin*
what a strange word, sue, and thanks!
Guinness??
gah. one more tile for NBT -- the M on the bottom row please?
past tense of the guys that don't talk, stid
not getting it uusue
Me8 more happy.
thanks sue!
re twice plus small rodents
that's NBT and down to 95!
Although that might not be from the bottom tile..now i think about it..sorry
will get halfway, then stop for now. Tom thinks my computer will be working by the weekend... I will hide flashlights from the boys from now on!
can't find the rodents....need a cat!
{{zzoozz}}
thanks for that though zoom, needed it too!
no can't find it
aaaah nm
oh, I forgot about that, stid! Hope all goes well with the computer repair!
Cool, yw :-)
((Ruby))
little rodents hunted by cats - stick two re's on the front, boo
re (again) mickey (since it's a good day for irish names)
re + same again + not a rat a bit smaller .
LOL, Stid
silly word but thank you
ok ty
how you been, zoom?
Struggling, but keeping chin up, Thanks for asking. Hope you are well?
After all the cluing today, I am convinced that people do not think of mi4 as rodents.
(((zoom))) not horrible right now. some days better than others.
hm. first time I have seen a trumpet with paddles for valves (watching the "arts" channel this morning)
*Sends sparkly green Irish blessings to Stid and Zoom*
well, usually when we say rodent we are talking about rats... at least here.
thanks molly!
Thanks, Molly :-)
really? So I should think of some other word for the smaller-than-rats?
and I am now at precisely halfway. since I am practicing restraint, I shall bid you-all a fond adieu, and back at some point in the next 24 hours. ***Hugs and choclits and green sparklies for all*** *Poof*
hello all, I am eating Irish Potatoes, yum
bye stiddy
ooh, yum, peri, send some over here!
Bye, Stid :-)
howsit?
*Passing Peri some Irish Soda Bread to go with her potatoes*
I put some of the Irish Potatoes in the PB :)
What a beautiful woman your mother was, if you don`t mind me saying, Uusue.
Hello, Jesdraggon.
*passing irish potatoes to Molly and uusue*

I bet, Soodle, is out on the tiles tonight.

we are having corn beef and cabbage for dinner
Last we heard, Soodle was waiting on a taxi to go to the Pub! Hoo-ah!

hi rubyfoo
today I have decided that qualitatively I am a great housecleaner. Even though quantitatively I suck.
I was thinking Jean Harlow, Sue.
I'm not sure I measure up on either, Sprite, but I keep a decently clean place.
that is a funny idea, sprite, so the stove is immaculate and the floor spotty?
ummmm no, once in a while everything is immaculate :)
I can't quite keep up....
she did, jac, although less sultry, and less blonde than Harlow. She was a very attractive woman, though!
Good Morning all! Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy B-Day to my youngest daughter!!!
lol Molly :) I don't... can't pay a cleaning help and physically I have to be careful because of a couple of handicaps. But when I have a good day and I do clean... it IS clean :)
hi YadNivek, same to you and gratz on your daughter.
hello yad and happy b-day to your daughter. How old is she?
Penelope is 5 today
Hello, YadNivek, Happy birthday to your daughter, Penelope :-)

kent iemand hier toevallig HTML?
am sorry, wrong language! Does anyone here by any chance know HTML?
sure some HTML, what's up?
hello all - sorry sprite - weet niks van HTML and really dont know much HTML at all
I don't know any and I am trying to edit a very simple page. I think I need the code for a new line. Like 'enter' in wordprocessing.
lol ursh! Love the dutch :D
what are you trying to do in HTML?
I have been given a template. I need to put some text into it, and I did, and it shows. But I cannot seem to make paragraphs or even to start on a new line with a new sentence.
put <p> and </p> before and after your paragraphs
ok! Thanks Shirlockc :D
line breaks are <br/> right after where you want the line to break
oh that is brilliant, that is exactly what I need. Thank you :)
np, lots of places to get HTML tags and examples online
if you get stuck again
ok, will look it up, this looks like fun! I should really learn how to do that.
like learning a new language, practice and persistence :)
oh yes, it looks like there are many ways to get similar results and I bet some are better than others.
definitely, boys at work are MUCH better at it than I am
but with your help I made it work, yesssss :)

I have corned beef (that cooked all day in the crock pot), potatoes, onions and carrots simmering on the stove. When it's almost ready, I'll add some cabbage and corn. It smells good in here.
hi again, jmc!
And dinner sounds good, Molly, what time shall I be there?
you just made me drool, Molly. And I already had dinner!
corn beef and cabbage is the only good thing about st patricks day

Truly, the best way to do a corned beef is to cook it a few days ahead, then let it sit in the fridge, absorbing all the seasonings. I forgot this year, shame on me.

Ugh. The House Republicans voted to defund NPR today
thanks lbu :)
lbu.....lol
well npr will just have to cut some of those 1/2 million dollars salaries
ugh cos
ugh is right, cos--listening right now
I love NPR
i love npr too but i think they are way overfunded
Our state legistlature just eliminated all funding for any Planned Parenthood clinics...sigh...
Zero tax dollars will be saved from today's vote though.
*sigh* jilly
really cosd how so?
hi foam nice to meet you
overfunded??? with quarterly pleas for money? at the end of each fundraiser, their voices are ragged
wait i met you the other day didn't I
liberal blog yes but.. valid points http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/ 17/957304/-House-to-debate-emergency-b ill-to-defund-NPR
PBS is next. Ugh.
go to guidestar.org and look at some of the financial figures
thats not the worst thing the republicasns did this week... in michigan they just gave the governor power to fire elected officials.
sorry, chrome hiccuped, back again although still recording one last set of grades
the head of the pr in philly makes $750,000 salary according to my sil who like me is a liberal
i am not sure that will stand cosd
yeah the execs at npr shld have to answer to that i agre
but cutting funds is not the answer.
they can vote things in an not have them stand up in court
punish everyone else except the execs is basically what they want to do.
"let them eat cake"
well are they likely to cut their bloated salaries if they are fully funded?
the nonprofit world is big business!
no, not the execs--the perceived liberal bias, which is nonsense
yeah i agree. but its the little people who get punished with this vote.
then donors should demand that their donations go to lower level people's salaries and not the execs
thats a good way to go by jmc :)
nonprofits are not as accountable as for-profits even
congress shld hold execs accountable. and not punish the whole system is what im trying to say i guess
in a for profit the stock holders can make a fuss if the money goes into bloated salaries
don't talk exec pay till we "do something" about bankers and fund managers...
Like the execs and politicos pay any attention to their constituents
remied
but john bonehead is so in love with big business he wont do anything
"oops, sorry--was trying to noodle out er 5/12
well that brings me back to my earlier point--many nonprofits are big business
do 5/16 please?
yes, and their heads deserve respectable salaries
that was no help at all foam! lol
$750,000???
yes.. if ur gonna type in words lets have ones that work.. lol
do + most of the first of rolling stones lead singer
i do not donate to organizations where the staff are paid more that i make in 10 tens
no one is saying 750,000 is justfiable
so true, jm--hard to find an er when you put in an re
they should donate to my organization
good policy jmc
do4,6, leave off the e and put on the first part of frozen ice

ty BR
i only donate to candidates... i dont trust where my money is going in charities.. except for HRC :)
thanks sue :)
I think Congress should adjourn and help us sandbag.
donate to meeeee cosd! you can trust meeeee!
i doubt they would be any good at that BR
lol what do i get out of it? i usually get nothing :P
my undying gratitude *flutters eyelashes*
Obama in 2008 helped Iowans sandbag after their massive flooding.. while McCain took a "break" from campaigning.
the mayor of newark, NJ helped dig cars out of the snow in the recent snowpoypsce <sic?
lol ill take that jmc :)
ci5,12 and cr5,14 pls
my thought would be to have them opposite each other to toss sand into a container for filling sandbags... then see if more gets in the container than in their hair
lol that is an idea BR
cr5/14 - what crimials commit & cr5/14 what you did when tears rolled down your face

Jes, if my house sale ever closes...I am thinking of getting 2 kittens, from a litter...am very worried about the dog....
hi could i please have a clue for the r9 please
Great shot of our dinner (yes, I take pictures of food) http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/dd 333/MollyLamar/CBEEF.jpg?t=1300401714
Hi Molly and Happy Day!
looks delish, molly!
re9 = toted again
ok, got the ar5/12
Hi Red. It's fun being Irish all year long. It's especially fun on St. Patrick's Day.
ty
I am also Irish, but, I have to admit...I do not celebrate it that much.
any hints for the ce words? I have the middle one.
there is a ce 4 that means the number for Nothing....sort of a spanglish-y word.
I think I just got that one, need the first one
nm, got that one too
sorry no list yet so I dont know..which is what.
how is Dad?
He's doing really well, red, walking on his own around the house (no walker or stick or anything!).
super to hear.
Mostly now he's a little lonely but he's keeping himself pretty busy.
so you have been able to return home? I am a bit behind...
yes, I was there for two weeks, home for a week, went back for four days, and got home last night.
Nice to be in your own bed??
with my own SO :-)
:D
sue, ty for the me8, was setting up my shopping list
1st de6 pls
np, sue :-)
nm, found it
2nd de6, after de+ ca4
like espy but misspelled
back
Sue, aw, it makes me sad to hear that your Dad is lonely. From what you've said, he sounds like a real good guy. What's up with his wife, if you feel like yacking about it.
? sue
Sorry, didn't realize we had two Sues on board. UUSue is who I was referring to.
Hey again all!
She's been moved to a rehab center but is still ailing. She's formally filed for divorce, and he now has a lawyer. I haven't talked to her in quite a while; she talks to her son, he texts me, and I talk to my dad.
What a sad way for them to end. Sending out extra blessings for your Dad.
Although she did talk to my dad a few nights ago - called him on her cell phone - he said they had a good talk, she wants him to be able to keep the house, so I'm wondering how much of this is coming from her sons. One of them hung up on my dad while I was there :-(
the last mi5 please?
oh that was nice that she wants him to have the house.
dont have, sorry
I could really use the 2nd de6, cos
but if they get divorced and he has to reimburse her for half its value, I don't think he can do that without selling it
de + frozen water+ ;etter
oh no wrong de6 sorry
same first 3 letters as the de6 before it, then sounds like a container u put cremated ashes in, change the first vowel
thx, cos, I couldn't figure out how to clue it!
yw uusue i had to get creative lol
Ugh, this definitely sounds like it's coming from the greedy sons. Who seemed to move in like vultures once your Dad had health problems. Ugh again.
not totally getting it.
container u put ashes in is an u**... just change the U to another vowel
got it
well, they did have a nasty argument while he was in rehab (when her sons were not around); I called her right after that and she told me he had been very mean to her and as far as she was concerned the marriage was over. So it's a complicated situation, lots of strong feelings, two elderly people not in the best of health....sigh
keep going up red
I think I must not have the other de6 because its the other 3rd letter than has be messed up...
do u have the de + to take **** of ones health?
2-point letter, red
Ahhh cos, that was why I was working with the removal of cold stuff word...
when you de6 something you judge between them
d's are dead!!!!!
Well Sue, it's been said that some people grow old together well and some don't. Maybe it wasn't the case for these two. I hope they both find a comfort zone beyond what they had.
I hope so too, Molly. They had a good 35 years together.

Hiya Dawg!!
getting any storms your way?
Mountains look stormy...will soon hit valley...how about you?
we've had snow, rain, sun and wind. typical "late winter, early spring" weather.
gotta love the gropple!!
i remember when we used to call it corn snow. lol
other news, they are really making progress on 93...we'll have 4-lane to Missoula sometime this summer!!
wonder how many folks are eating corned beef and cabbage tonight? and lots of green beer
wow, didn't know they were even working on doing that. shows you how often i get out of the valley.
They had it at the hospital today....can only have the cabbage...last 7 days of the diet...
stock up and freeze it! lol
You ought to come down here and we'll get together with harpjane!
how is Jane? haven't seen her online in a long time
Worse than that, I have the March church potluck at my house and make pasties...won't get to eat any on Saturday...but they WILL be frozen
argh, that's a cruel diet!
or really bad planning!
She hasn't been singing with my group this month...did see her a few weeks ago and she was fine
she's always so busy!
She must be sneaking in, her stats are still up there
i bet she's lurking! come out come out where ever you are, HarpJane!
Well, have lost 35 pounds in 43 days...
WOW!! good for you! what kind of diet are you on?
hey jilly! well done! hi all!
hi stiddy!
harpjane? where? *looks in lurkbox*
That's why I went up to your valley in January, you have a naturopathic clinic...HCG injections
HCG?
Hi Stiddy *hugs*...LONG time no see...how are you
?
pregnancy hormone
the advantage to babbling on my netbook (mac still out of commission) is that I have lickety...
and that makes you lose weight? i'm confused
can't live without lickety
Yep, causes body to pull from your fat stores...you eat only 500 calories/day
http://www.drgreenbean.com/hcg-diet/
whoa, that's not much calorie intake. guess you have to really monitor what you eat.
not healthy long term I suppose
but short term maybe okay?
Nope, 50 day cycle with 6 weeks maintenance before you can do again. but I have to admit...no hunger...cravings yes, but really not hungry
With one more cycle I should have all the weight I need off
if you can maintain afterward, sounds like a reasonable thing
Was sooo nice when I transitioned from obese to overweight...lol
how many cycles?
At least according to the naturopath, the injections (I do B12 with it) have a better maintenance percentage than the drops
this is my first dawg
going to check out the site, brb
It's quite controversial, but I really researched plus had a good friend on it before I started
well, if you will be healthier and more comfortable, jilly, then that is a good thing
tom and the elder stidkid are home. I should head out and talk at them. ((hugs)) be well, see you-all again soonish. *poof*
Well, it was because my knees and hips were starting to hurt. Can't tell you how good I am feeling. Off many of my meds
Now with warmer weather, can start walking to work (2 miles)
see ya stiddy
hi all
Hi there peri!
later, stiddy. Jilly i'm impressed with what i read. You give yourself the injections?
hi peri
Yep...
*silly me, of course you do, you are a nurse!*
Hey, two different things..poking someone else and poking yourself...believe me...LOL
i think i could poke another person, probably even myself (do it often whilst sewing), but i couldn't do it to my dog! had to get the vet to do the shots.
brb
I gave shots to my cat and my mom's dog...brb too

not helping but thanks
hmm. last 3 sounds like but is not spelled like a respectful term for a gentleman.
hi all. ess can you answer a vet question> I;ll undersnatd if yo cannot
i can try
hi Owl
the answer may be that critter needs to be seen in person though ;)
what are theissues with adopting a FIV pos cat?
minimal, really. FIV is a very slowly progressive disease, and difficult to transmit, similar to HIV in humans.
requires intense contact and bodily fluid transfer for transmission (fighting, biting, breeding), and many FIV cats live 10 - 12 years before showing signs...
when my friend volunteered at a shelter, they isolated positive cats
since your average outdoor cat's life span is less than 10 years... *shrug*
I would be concerned with introducing a positive cat to a household with other/negative cats, because cat fights are always a possibility with introductions.
also, you need to be aware that FIV positive does not necessarily mean they are infected. FIV vaccination causes a positive on the test, and there is no way to de6 between a positive from vaccination and positive from exposure.
this is a rescue that the host must give up because of moving. 5-6 yo
when/if disease occurs, it results in immune suppression, and usually chronic/recurring infections from opportunistic bacteria... respiratory infections that won't go away and/or progress to pneumonia, for instance.
has been tested 2-3 times
there are a few "FIV/FeLV +" specific rescues, but they're hard to find and usually full.
does it always progress to full disease?
yeah, retesting doesn't really accomplish anything, unless they were just exposed.
no. lots of them die of other things before the FIV gets around to causing issues. Remember, very slow progression--cat may get cancer or die of renal failure or other old age problem before the FIV does anything, especially if they contract it as an older cat.
found the me words ty jess
help with me6/21 pls
hey
and risk to humans?
I don't have an me 6/21. there's an mi 6/21, but it's one of the words I havent found yet.
hey temple!!!!!!!!!!!
no risk to humans, not transmissible across specis.
species.
that is what I meant, will keep looking
hello fast. ty jess, this is a handsome ginger maine coon like boy
do you have other cats?
Peri, do you have the me5-14 above it?
have all the me words gap
no. but i would liek to . and truthfully, am enjoying a pet moratorium, freedom and all
evening all! R's retired
hi dan :)
The me6 is me7 minus the last letter.
if he'll be an only cat, i would not recommend against adopting him. i would recommend keeping him inside though, so that there's no chance for him to be out fighting with other cats and potentially spreading it about.
ty gap but I have all the me words
Hi there, dan.
if only they had not posted that giant color pic
Did that help, peri?
just 4 ra words to go
i assume that if they tested for FIV, they also tested for FeLV?
I'd be more worried about that than the FIV, frankly
OK
i don't know, no mention. they are not the same???
no. FIV = cousin of HIV (both are species specific though). FeLV = Feline Leukemia Virus.
May I please have a clue for me5-14? Thanks
leukemia is much more likely to cause problems, though the problems are similar (immune suppression and secondary infections).
french stick, liver and sausage pate with herbs and spices, brie, gouda, and hickory smoked 5 year old quebec cheddar, seedless green grapes bread and butter picklesand a nice bottle of vino for 2...mmmmm
AAAH, crossy.
grilled sourdough chicken breast, dubliner cheese, and apple sandwiches. yum! :D
ok i did not realize, so perhaps the dire state id the felv? when my friend told me about the shelter cats, it wa so di4
sounds delish jes
Yes, it does.
it was delish, crossy! (i ate it all gone, and now am sad there isn't mo4)
felv has a faster course, so you will more likely see problems associated with it.
vaccination will NOT cause a false positive with that one, so if it shows up positive, it is.
ty. does not seem like a good choice for someone enjoying pet holiday and who had to see last two eaten by cancer.
felv goes 1 of 3 ways. 1: they get it, they get sick, they die. 2: they get it, they clear it, they're fine, or 3: they get it, they carry it forever.
it is also difficult to spread (same as FIV; direct/intense contact), so you can't carry it from one cat to another, and again there is no risk to other species.
ty
sorry to have hijacked chog
but really really would stress the indoor only thing so as to avoid potential spread to other cats. Double check which it is that this cat has. but also keep in mind that if this is a leukemia pos cat that gets taken to the shelter, most shelters will either not take the cat, or will euthanize it (not to guilt trip you or anything!) so going to an only-cat, indoor-only home is really the ideal sitch for the cat.
close one for your Owls today, TO :-)
but we came up o the right side, dan! ;)
chronic FeLV infections can also take several years to develop problems, so it's not an immediate death sentence, but does mean the cat will probably not die of "old age", unlike FIV.
i will be happy to see nova one and done
indeed
who do you have in the final four?
It was totally crazy by my office today - all the bars were open for St. Paddy's, but there's also 4 basketball games at verizon center. Never seen it so crowded midday on a Thursday
I'm pulling for Wisconsin and Pitt out of family loyalty, would like to see the Hoyas go far
wow. dan do you get the metro?
yes I come in from Virginia on the metro

bagpipers on the street playing "lion sleeps tonight" was the highlight of my walk to metro after work. Oh. no I guess I don't :)

bye fast
bye, fast
did that answer your cat question sufficiently? or did I overdo it? :D
jess, ty. it is never a good idea to let heart get you in overyour head, pets deserve better
your doggie is adorable
yeah, but if it is FIV, there's really minimal concerns
heh. sometimes. she's getting frustrating--i've been trying to place her since Thanksgiving and not a single person has inquired about her.
sorry
how about interstate rescue?
i'm happy to ship her to you! :)
no, i work full time, not fair
so do i :P

You'd better hurry up, though. I'll be off to bed soon, ramming in ear plugs so I can't hear Beloved snoring, and on guard for him enveloping me in a loving embrace with his leg and his arm that almost crushes me, since he's deeply asleep and so is a dead weight, plus him snorting warm air on the back of my neck like a fine pair of fire bellows, thus making my next hot flush/flash imminent.
