morning all... jilli, last minute theme change for April 29 :)
Hi sprite -- thought there might be! Thanks for the warning.
Molly thought of it, and I love it :) I hope to see many royal hats.
bah humbug.. seen one royal hat.. seen em all
sprite -- the change doesn't show in your profile, so what is it exactly?
yeah but you look great in all of them, ruru
Rubbish, ruru.
Do you meant the kind o fhats which will be worn at the wedding?
(Sorry about the typos)
my mistake. For once I thought I could get away with just changing one line in the text. But of course it should have been changed at the top as well. Done now, jilli. Theme is: Hats for the royal wedding
Thanks, sprite!
People are struggling for work in England and I think the costs and excesses of the wedding are a little too much for this world economy.. personally
fireworks. sewing time now
in the worst of times people need diversions
oh man, ruru... It is only 7.47 here and I am up from 4 am... I cannot do a political discussion yet, if ever :) Eggs. Eggs I understand right now.
bye anike and gratz
and we like to take our hat off - so you have to have a hat
two ps words
do the hats push Prince Charles' ears down any?
Love you Easter coins, sprite -- hope you saw my fabulous Zambian one!
I did! Very unusual, I loved them.
please don't pick on the poor guy, ruru.
Glad to hear you saw it -- I was hardly on at all today.
he is my least favorite world leader
next to the Imam in Iran
I usually check your profile, jilli. I have a bookmark on my firefox bar for it.
wow -- thx sprite!
hint for GU 7?
wind on your feet
I like reading/seeing your stuff and I usually try to avoid picking the same icon, lol. We tend to have the same taste.
or with great enthusiasm
ty ruru
like prince charles in the garden with camilla
yes, I've noticed, sprite! Sometimes there's not a lot to choose from which is square or can be made square
*snicker*
will someone please clue me the mo /8 so that i can go to bed
well now that I know (most days) which one you picked, I can search for another :)

I won't be sleeping much on Apr 29 -- the wedding starts at 3 am here.
bye vanilla, have a good easter sunday
bye vanilla -- same to you.
am not going to watch. I didn't even watch the marriage of our heir to the throne.
(btw I actually tried collag. Having a blonde day!)
LOL!
I see a lot of words that are not words in this grid
In an hour or so I am going to prepare easter lunch with my daughter :) Making filled eggs and tuna salad etc.
enable being its usual silly self, ruru, or just plain Capitalism?
NO 6/7???
I see some jiddish words that aren't valid, which I regret.
oh yes bleugirl, lots of 6/7s even.
lol. i need a clue for the NO 6 and 7 sprite.
I know, just couldn't resist
hi all -- late start
hi nan. I don't have it yet, btw, or I would clue it.
no + Wall Street hosts a ****k market exchange
i was going to try that but said to myself, that's not a word!
i was going to try that but said to myself, that's not a word!
<-- (whispers to sprite -- it's yiddish, not jiddish)
phantoms for today: nosegays, tosspots
thanks jilli, will remember. It is jiddisch in dutch :)
ty grem
nosegays?
little bouquets, ruru. The name is from more innocent times :P
"A small bunch of flowers; a bouquet."
gives a whole new meaning to blowing your nose I guess
makes a good blowjob sound like admirable hygiene
PB, ruru
OOOh jeeez
was that oooo sneeze?
over halfway
PS 5/12s?
ps + three vowells
so... if a little tinman has a canine friend...
ps + have a desert mirage
*takes sprite's bait* yes dear?
*takes sprite's bait* yes dear?
nope, not valid, hun
oh thought it was a joke
I'm stuck
I wish. It is another not valid word combo that is jumping to my eyes.
not finding sp5/14, any clues please?
male fertility stuff flosey
monkeyed those. doh!
nbt/nbs
oh, thanks ru
oh oh, flosey... the blowjob should have put you on the right track... little male soldier cells running towards an ovum...
wtg sprite
haha, interesting conversation
I was thinking that spermon should be a word
good job nan and jilli
they don't run, though, they use flagella
wasn't reading blog!
ruru: is that what the preachers give the altar boys in the back room?
maybe the p needs to be taken out of that word, ruru!
depends on which sexual education book one us4
oooh gremlinn.. you are a sick puppy
lol
I didn't start it!
or a permos.. a way to keep your hairdo hot
or pe4on... what your mother gives you when you come home from your first independent haircut
mo4top: the latest haircut fad
fuzzy green
lol
boy.. if that P were an i...we'd have a fun word then
I could use an i for idiot. Which word are you aiming for, ruru?
(only if it's decent of course)
(what? who? me?)
coituses
*giggles* Nah, of course not you, silly. You are a decent man, right?
most of the time
not now though. Hop off to the sin bin you!
oh. beans
that was entrapment
*evil grin*
fireworks and off to bed, goodnight everyone
true. Twice even, but you fell for only one. So not just decent, but kinda smart too :P
wow, flosey the fast!
well done flosey..
I'm not even close yet
wtg flosey and sleep well!
42 left here and still some movement. Hope it stays that way.
I have 40 left and fading fast
SE 6/21, last one
nevermind
don't know about first or last, bleugirl, but I have something that the preacher gives.
a priest's lecture bleu?
hit the wall at 107 -- see you tomorrow :)
ty sprite
ohhhhh bleugirl is pulling a peri on us!
nighters nan
bye nan, have a good day
bleu needs to read haz's rules more carefully
night nan!
I am pretty sure a segaton is some kind of pokemon. Or will be shortly.
15 left for me tomorrow. can't find them
I'd like to be a pokeman
gnight ruru -- be good ;-)
you already are, ruru. No doubt about it. A decent, kinda smart pokeman.
what ? who? me? jillI?
maybe a poquermon?
night night jilli.. rest up for the wedding
I will, ru -- I hope!
sleep well, ruru
I managed to overlook the 'on the ocean' word yesterday and now at 9 left I see the plural ocean. It is a real blind spot.
that "on the ocean" hides from me too.
too many vowels, lol. Fireflies. Nice grid!
Congrats sprite! 13 to go here and too sleepy to see any more.
sleep well then, jilli. They will be there tomorrow.
I am off for today, bye all
Bye sprite -- hope you can get a nap -- Happy Easter!
FIREWORXXX!
on
Hooray bleugirl!!!
And fireworks here too -- goodnight/day if there's anyone there.
Nan hours left??
good morning
Happy Easter
Morning and Happy Easter to you too ruby.
good morning FM and thanks
I'm still agonizing over my garden plan for you. It's fun to think about it
Sunny day here and v warm already :)
what's funny is how much it changes, day to day
lol don't stress over it - just sketch it out.
it's chilly here every night but gets really warm in the afternoon. They predicted rain (much-needed), starting yesterday, and we got about a 10-minute drizzle, didn't even get the dust off.
I think it's good (mental) exercise
Good Moring everyone
When I did mine I drew bushes and trees looking like clouds and then smaller plants as little circles. Tehn wrote all over it with names and detail etc.
Joyeuses Pâques, Ruby :-)
good morning, Kazzer, Happy Easter!
Morning Kazzer!
and Hello Une!
howdy, fmitch and kazzer!
that's a good idea, FM, I've been working on the symbols and mine were too complex
bonjour une!
I've got a weird rash on my forearm - about 3 inches long and looks like a load of tiny red dots .... ?
poison ivy?
sounds like a bite from a wlaking insect....
does it itch?
ruby, ack! LOL
nope
walking*
it appeared last night and I've just noticed it hasn't gone away.
is there poison ivy in Europe and the UK?
we have nettles, but the rash is different
gusts
whoops, sorry
lol
yes, ruby
having coffee and benadryl in the PB!
LOL!
this is a nice grid
Is all well with you Une, haven't really seen you to chat to recently.
(changing subject because I'm embarrassed)
yes, thanks, fmitch, altho not looking forward to Mother's Day :-(
On a happy note - it was Haz's 29th wedding anniversary yesterday. Can understand that Une - your Mothers Day is in May isn't it (ours has already been and gone).
congrats to Haz!
:( une (big hug for you)
thanks, ruby :-)
I still miss my mother and she's been gone 15 years!
I miss my dad and he died when I was 17
looooong time ago.
didn't mean to bring down the chog . . . sigh
I miss my mother much more than my dad, although he was terrific, even though she has been gone much longer
it's OK; that's why we're here for each other
Anyhoo - the bluebells are now in flower and the golden garlic will be flowering in the next 10 days or so :)
my daughter had a wonderful dream last week -- she was a little girl and was having an early morning cuddle with my mom in her big bed -- she woke up feeling really comforted :-)
my original 3 purple garlic has seeded itself into about 20! They are beautiful
oohh, pretty, ruby!
HAve to smile as I didn't know what the golden garlic plants were when I moved into the house and thought they were late flowering tulips.
I dreamed I was pregnant the other night, also a very nice dream
wow, ruby1
hahah, FM, we have something called bear garlic which God planted on the dogs' graves
Lovely dream Une but not so sure aboutRubys.
:-D
sometimes I have dreams about my mother, too, but usually mixed with TV actors....
I loved my dream, FM
I think the happiest I've ever been was 48 yrs ago when I was.....
Fair enough - just never had the desire to have a child.
any idea what prompted that dream, ruby?
I never wanted a second one, but John was a gift!
no, I think my dreams are a totally random mix but mostly fun
then you're very lucky!
(about having fun dreams)
I only remember them if I tell my husband the second I wake up, otherwise I'm just left with the smile, like the Cheshire Cat
Do you dream in colour or black and white?
:-D
colour!!
I think they're in color, but I'm not sure. Frequently I know I'm not in them, just watching, like a movie
i have a friend who dreams in colour AND with background music! LOL
music? wow!
Intersting, me too but apaprenmtly some people only dream in black and white.
didn't know that, fmitch
sometimes there are jokes in the dreams and I laugh in my sleep (so I've been told)
Ihave a multilingual friend who is french, but dreams in german - must be confusing
gm granadan
wow! grandan
that is funny about your friend
would be even more intreaguing if she can't speak German in 'real life'
fmitch LOL
talk about interpretation of dreams....interpretation AND translation!
oh, jeez, just realized it's 3:30 am -- gonna try for a bit more sleep -- great chatting with everyone! *poof*
bye une
Morning, sorry, I dont post much, but i do enjoy following the threads :)
it is nice to see you but first I read your name as grand....
I've had really strange deams but have been able to pin point it to eating cheese - one of those getting older things :( So don't eat cheese after luunch time now *le sigh*
that is funny, FM, I wonder why
do you remember your dreams?
Glad you chirped up gran and welcome to the chat.
Yes i do ruby and sometimes they stay with me for ages which is not nice.
do you wake up on your own or with an alarm?
I think it makes a difference
on my own - very rarely use the alarm these days.
Ibet everyone has one bad dream they have never quite forgotten. They can seem more real than reality. My main reason for not having a fifth baby is I dream so vividly when Im expecting!
moss
overslept this morning which was a pain as I had work to do (I work weekends).
that is really interesting, gran
sorry!
sorry!
I used to have typical anxiety dreams when I worked: missing planes, showing up for school without lesson plans, stuff like that. But retired, happy dreams
Just remembeing how the sound of a snoring person sleeping next to you can act as an alarm clock! Miss B but don't miss the snoring.
when "my"B decides I've slept enough, he starts slamming doors downstairs
lol -B used to bring me a mug of tea if he thought I had slept enough.
it is so cold in the bedroom, that I sleep under an old fur coat (as well as the various blankets)
but I like when the air is cold
that's much better than slamming doors
mmm very true.
Think I had better go and top up the bird baths and see what is occuring in the garden (i.e I need to stretch my legs). Back in a while.
see you later, FM
Toodles :)
Hi everybody. Happy Easter :-)
{{soodle}}
Happy Easter to you!
how are you?
Hiya (((Rubes))).
is Paul having a good time or is he just slogging away at Mom's cores?
<------- Changed my icon!!!!
I'll look at it when I leave (soon) because it usually disconnects me.... :( Mmme. Computer Maladroit!
Paul is a hungover mess this morning!!
feed him one of your famous breakfasts!
yesterday I mde little dresses for the strawberry plants (crazy lady?) because last year the slugs ate all of the berries
Hmm. It will either kill him or cure him.
but it's nice that he keeps up with his mates
Rubes, I gotta go, and attend to motherly duties. I hope to see you later. Have a lovely day!
{{big Easter hug for you!}}
could someone hint me the q word please? Need to sack those monkeys...
rhymes with serveral birds....
a big stone for grinding corn
morning again - got a run on the grid and got distracted
pasg hapus pawb - happy easter all
qu is a grinding stone
hello glanta, how are you doing?
need to change my icon - is there a theme for today?
i'm doing OK Ruby - had a lovely 5 days away and slept very well
while you're at it, would you please change mine? I have tried following all the instructions and can't make it happen.
that's what you needed, a change of scene and away from Mr. Nasty
got home last night to an empty house (bliss!) but hideous reappeared at 9.10 this morning
I hope he crought Easter flowers and candy!
brought*
um, no!
I can imagine!
just wishful thinking, on your behalf!
I'm just hoping he might clear up the mess he left in the kitchen...
what a sh**!
yes
back again on my other computer - washing machine is being contrary and stopped mid wash = had to extract half the contents and flip the cut out swtich - keep forgetting its hates too heavy a load
Hi Kaz
Just put my washing on too - such a lovely day for drying
hi glan - hows the house sale?
only the one viewing so far
probably have to reduce the price
must ask the agent if there is interest before i do that!
whats the market like where you are?
it is weird - houses here usually sell very quickly or take forever - we are 20 miles form anywhere else
but there are a few sold signs at the moment so things must have started moving
thats good and if the house is in quite good decorative order it shouldnt hang around too long
it is in good shape now - and hideous has almost finished the bathroom
thats good - folks like a nice bathroom. We had a vile avocado one in the house we moved from but with the right shade of wall paint it looked okay
need cupboard doors putting back on, a bit of cleaning of plaster splashes and door putting back on and it will be done
well good luck
ty
Hi
Kazz I love your little pup
back for a second. Kazzer, when my son and wife visited they insisted on oeverloading thre washer. Now it needs to be replaced and I have to keep changing the settings to get it to wring out the clothes
{{herin}}
Hi herin
HI ((((Ruby))))0
Hi b ack
the heron is back! Fish have been acting spooked and we just saw the heron in the garden. What a beauty! I don't care if he eats the fish....but don't tell dh
Distracted by hot men on tv
he is, as usual, beside himself and wringing his hangs
I can vaguely remember that, herin, lol
hands*
ooh - hot men thats sounds good for a sunday morning and i wish that pup was mine but he is my dream so i will keep the pic for a while
I tend to think"hot" men on TV are usually gay, e.g. Hugh Jackman!
i saw the saying 'if it has tyres or testicles, it's trouble' and have decided that's my new motto LOL
Watching Americas next top model. Old serious. But hey not complaining if men are topless
he has a horrible commercial in which he says "We could dance if you want to"
I don't mind tyres, glanta!
my tyres were pretty expensive last time i bought them!
which one - we have just finished 14 i think and i quite like it. The oz version is much feister and funnier - our version is a bit wimpy - but i do love the makeover episode where they cry aboout having their hair chopped
10
Seen it once before. OZ version I think is only on cable here
lunch now, goat at the local Italian *poof*
Sorry 7
see ya ruby
they are all worth watching
i love Biggest Loser being overwieght myself - i would love the chance to be on it
This is the second time around here. I find BIggest loser not great as it is not realistic. Turns out that in the states there has been a competitor or two that has put the weight back on
yeah - i ws reading about the early series of it and they seem to have cleaned their act up. One of the trainers withdrew on the Uk one after they gave some contestants ill advice
It is sad
anybody got the to7? I'm stumped other than it comes from the bottom T
nm
got it now
Kazz reading the stats is so sad and disgraceful that all the show wants is money and sponsers
i know herin - but i still like the spectacle - easy to please me! Glan give us a clue please
the best
nm i got it as well
clue for the no6?
(whispers I like the hills)
is that a clue herin?

Congrats Glan only 5 behind you
and then i will be off to stuff clothes on the line as well
fireworks for me as well - off to have a lovely session of battle with the washing machine - Good luck to you all but a nice grid today
hi everyone could i have some clues 4 the 8s please
mo 7/40 and pl for the 8 - a colllection of picutres or images perhaps?
The other 8 builds from the st5/14.

FM thanx for the MO's
evening all... happy easter!!
HAPPY EASTER to you and your loved ones, mrp...and to all other babblers...XXX
thank you diz!! isn't it a beautiful day!!
has been a loverly day...went to Manly, NSW to meet up with my mum...between us we had 9 out of 19 of her great grandkids there,,,,
that is amazing!!!
autism walk next sat.. weather...sunny and high in 60 ! yeaaaa
ivesy, we will be on any autism walk... they just changed the laws in australia to allow for carers of autistic children to get up to $30,000 a year in assistance from the government. We are so so happy about that
thats great! my sister gets assistance from our county for jays drs and such.. so far we have over 220 people. and donations around $4200. they are building a sensory playground at the school. this is the first walk in our immediate area.
mrp could you puleeze post a sight for the autism walk....and revelent information...thanx heaps
our autism days are different to the USA, so when we have our next awareness day, I will let you know for sure diz!
a little story .. thats relates to why be need to have autism awareness. my nephew was having a meltdown in the store.. a lady told him he should be ashamed of himself.. and his mother must be disappointed in him.. mind you , he is 6!
it is so difficult to deal with people without a clue... and also a lot of stuff is coming up... for example: Autism is a highly heritable disorder, which is strongly influenced by genes. But it is not a genetic condition in the same way as Huntington's disease or cystic fibrosis, in which mutated DNA is the one and only cause. It is influenced by environmental factors, but what they are we do not yet know.
my sister has been changing his diet, etc. this past month he was student of the month at his school. shows you what they are capable.
ivesy, I would have strangled that woman!!
me too mrp... !
I have had friends of mine tell me to 'tame my child' and that my child was a huge problem. OK, he has a syndrome, but if she would educate herself and her family, they would have a much better time with him.
it is like telling a blind person to 'open your eyes and just look at it!'
thats rite.. my sister hears the same thing. our little guy went from not wanting to be touched to a very lovable little boy, now grabs my hand , kisses me, hugs me.. and they can be a joy if people would just not judge
that is great news ivesy! That means he trusts and loves you unconditionally and knows you would 'have his back' at any time
ivesy. that is fantastic for the youg fella to come that far
I luv my son's autism! it makes him the extraordinary person that he is and gives him a deeper calling in life.
I am vewry interested in autism. emple Grandin is my heroine!!!! My inbred chow chow Max is autistic and because of TG's books, I put him on Prozac and he went from bneing remote and unable to make eye contact or be willing to be touched to being a loving member of the family
There is so much to be learned
Temple Grandin!
And have you read about the new measles epidemic in Europe, all cause by the one article in one scientific magazine that related measles vaccine to its incidence. It was later retracted, but the epidemic of measles persists
we are a bit concerned about the walk, he doesnt do well with so many people. it will be interesting to see how others cope with their autistic children.
I think that crowds and noises must be a big problem for autistic children
i dont consider him having a "problem". he is who he is , my nephew
does he like music in earphones to block out outside noise
from what I read, extraneous noise upsets them
very much so ruby. thats why meltdowns occur in stores.. too much distraction. .thats a good idea ruby. will mention to my sister
with earbuds and his favorite, soft music, it might help the crowd situation
you might suggest reading Temple Grandin's books to yur sister, she is a wonderful guide to the syndrome as she, herself, is a very highly functioning autistic
will do that.. she is always looking for books on the subject.. bbs.. going to check that out
bye for now
greetings! Wishing you all a wonderful and very Bleessed Easter.
iversy, he isn't a 'problem', he is extraordinary
and to you angelsong! happy Easter!
Dr Tony Attwood... complete guide to asperger's syndrome... very very good book for carers of AS kids
Hiya everyone!!!!
Dr. Seuss!
hi movieman!!
watching castle and bones at the same time... wow!!
I am sorry, but DB is crap compared to NF
Happy Easter....DB, NF?
sorry... bones and castle are a series... DB is David Boreanaz and NF is Nathan Fillion. David was originally from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Nathan was from Firefly. I much prefer Nathan
Bones was good this week. They could do a whole series on that guy "The Finder".
+
how appropriate.. Peter Co6.21 Tail is in the grid! Happy Easter, everyone.

morning uusue Happy Easter
thx, lore! and hi, mrp! Are things getting back to normal at your house?
almost Easter Monday.... and unfortunately having to have lunch with 'family'... I might keep myself locked in the dungeon and cite irreconsilable icky stuff.
Good morning, afternnoon, evening to all. Happy Easter.
hi doxy!! :)
Happy Easter doxy
ah, family can be both a blessing and a curse, can't they, mrp?
happy Easter doxy!! was a beautiful day here
Finally got the mo7 and 8. Classic case of going the wrong way.
I luv most of my family, except SIL... she is an idiot, over and over again
hmmm, got a mo7 that's a plural of a 5, but no 8
my dad is young he is 42 year old
fortunately most of mine are ok, except the drama that's been playing out between my dad and stepmom
42 is very young!
there is a mo8, mo8 = collage, then pl for the 8
thx, shirlock, got them both! now nbs and nbt!
and i have family from austalia
updates on my stepmom in my profile; I paid a brief visit yesterday
and now must shower if i'm going to be on time! bbl
stopping in to say hi/bye.. off to the kitchen!
sue... stick to your heart here... such a heart ache.... :(
I washed my in-laws dog tonight... and clipped his fur and made him into a superstar doggie babe!! He has gone from scrounge dog to hot dog!! and now, he won't leave my side!!

thx for the no
hey crossy, my son's looking at asking for an e-reader for his birthday and he originally said he wanted a Kindle but I told him to look at all his options. I know you are knowledgeable about e-readers, what's your adivce?
I have a Nook, and love it.
my advice at this time is to choose a sony or a barnes and noble nook reader
the new nook is incredible!
what are the advantages over the Kindle?
full colour touch screen
Isn't Barnes and Noble in recivership
I think that's Borders, herin
how do the prices of the e-books compare between the two?
does not matter herin, since the machine takes all file types..b+n could vanish tomorrow and it would not matter
they are similar 175-275 ish
no, the books themselves, I think Kindles are around $9.99 per book, what about the nook?
and the key thing is these two can take epub files
oh i get my books free on the net
I thought the nook accepted more formats than Kindle
how do you do that?
Nook has books for free, up to $12-15
i have a library of over 500 atm
Where do you get free books on the net?
it soes
dies
dammint
html,open word doccs,pdf and epub
Ok i am out of here
bye herin
As I said Think I am confused much and should be in bed
gutenberg.com is a legal one.and others i cannot name atm.there are many free book sharing sites available and i can shoot a babbler my total library at a moments notice
s
does anyone know if text books are available yet in ebook format and if so how the cost compares?
shoot me crossy
some are luv but eacy university is different
yes, there are text books .. but if textbooks are what you want, you should consider the larger kindle.
toronto u for example is making its text books availbe in epub over the next year
well I guess he needs to do much more research befofre he decides which kind to get but I think the nook already sounds much better than the kindle
but not free
I have some crap to tell you all
be warned everyone..kindles are fine but proprietary and on epub!
why the larger kindle, Poroit?
Depends who you talk to Luv ... I love my Kindle.
no
Easier to read a text book on the larger page.
all public libraries will be using e-pub format.....
FW, not a bad grid, happy chocolate bunny everyone, poof
go ahead MrP
wtg Shirlock!
if anyone waishes my in depth thoughts on reader you can hook ip me me at chupdip33@hotmail.com
chipdip33@hotmail.com
Goo morning to all and happy easter to some
i researched the market heavily for a span of over 3 years to date and will offer insight
happy easter bob
thanks crossy I'll do that another day when I have time. Have to go get ready for the families arrival for Easter dinner.
How do you get acces to the U of T books?
thanks for all the advice about e-books everyone
lol you get them if you are a student and load them direct off their computer
morning again, all, fast breakfast before running off to church
or find a student who will share
So they are not accessible to the public?
which the nook and sony can do since it is in epub
not at this time
%^&^#*%$%*$((^*%^&#%$
but i have over 500 fiction titles i will share with any babbler
and some history texts
doxy, will do it later
oh and one last note on the readers..the battery pack is user changable in the nook only
<---- has a sony reader and has never bought a book, just going through the classics on gutenberg
lol sue if you need more let me know
lol, crossy, probably not until after I retire!
i have all the books listed and can send a book list to anyone
nite all, sleep is important for now. luv to you all :)
had to put a 16 gig micro sd card in my nook ..crossy filled the entire onboard memory lol
gn ((mrp))
night, mrp!
going to read frank herberts dune series next or perhaps clan of the cave bear
I'm reading the clan series now.
very nice;)
i'm working my way through bullfinch's mythology, good for long plane flights :-)
so little time in life,i try to read only the best;)
if figure if i stuff 5-6 thousand books on the nook that will see me home:)
hi all, between the last two gu5/16s theres a gu7/40 but my dictionaries are letting me down. Any clue for the gu7/40? Thanks.
My hubby's just happy I'm not bringing home as many books. No where to put them
gu7 - plural of gu5
though file conversion has become a part time job in itself:/ god bless calibre conversion program!!
plural of the first gu5/16
ty
ok, gotta run, 15 minutes late for choir rehearsal already, bbl
tc sue
Fireworks
yaa for doxy!!!
Happy Easter to all who celebrate. Talk to you all later.
there..clan of the cave bear is all converted to epub;)))
i still have 2 books to go with harry potter and friends..took me a few years to get to the series;)
there..and all backed up on a flash key..technology is amazing.well over 600 title of unconverted books stuffed onto a flash key no bigger than my thumb that i now have hanging on my car key ring with all my fork files:)
work
now if i could only type....
Anybody here? Hello, hello.
howdy scrabbs
Hey Scrabs. Happy Easter to you and your bunnies.
crossy killed the chog....:((
ahh there is life;)
You were talking to yourself, Crossy. Hi Molly. My bunnies are adorable.
i will never be lonely then i suppose
mmm bunnies....
I talk to me, myself and I all of the time. We are great friends.
lol,we are happy with my all my myselves
now if one of me could be a an actor that make 2 mill a day all would be well
When I was walking in the park yesterday, collecting acorn caps for craft projects, I realized that I was talking aloud. I quickly looked around and was relieved that only the birds could hear me.
I always think of acorn caps as elf hats.
I have some large ones--diameter of a quarter. When I saw them a few days ag, as I walked under a row of oak trees, I realized that I should collect them for something.
talking to yourself is fine, answeing yourself is fine, but when you start doing what the voices tell you to do,you best be carefull
"Now, Scrabbler, let's rake the front yard then work on the back yard later." So I can ignore those orders?
There are a lot of great things you can make with them. Do a search on "crafts with acorn caps".
of course you can and babble instead
I did that last evening, Molly, and I am going to start with picture frames. I have made some really neat frames with birch bark.
I am on call til tmrw 0800 and started yesterday at 0830.
I was still looking for words but 147 was enough. FIREWORKS!! Is it getting easier or am getting cleverer?
Today's highlight = Sabres vs Flyers, we are up 3-2. Such tension and excitement here!! Go Sabres!
yaa for vanilla!
ty
Yippee Vanilla! You are turning into a genius!
no canuck team in there..we are already move to watching tiger dig up the golf course
I still don't know the meaning of so many words
That is irrelevant, Vanilla.
Did Montreal get bumped out?
tbh scrabbs i have not checked today
i became less of a fanatice when all those expansion teams joined up
so good to know the word for a round painting or relief is to/5/12
anyway thx for the helps of lickety and all others, I'm off
Bruins are up 3-2 in series. I remember now that I watched the game last night--double OT and Bruins won.
Last year was The Habs year and they couldn't quite squeak it out.
I passed halfway and have 70 to go including the 2 8's and 7 7's. Be back later.
tc scrabbs
And they are still in it this year Scrabs, they play your Bruins on Tuesday.
No, I live near Buffalo. Go Sabres.
my poor elegant,a migraine this morn and an asthma attack..nothing like a ventolin inhaler to get the bp up and get the blood ramming though that aching noggin;(
i see the winter knitted hat is in here and pl

Made rice krispie treats this morning Pini and embedded PEEPS in them...so cute

I got it from yours, crossy, just as Sea's popped up...so thx to both! :)
thought yours was easier Crossy
as long as it works:)
my dog is lying beside me on the sofa, he is falling asleep and everyone time he does his head almost falls off the end of the sofa...he looks up, growls, and does it all over again and again and again lol
koda does that, too, sea...it's kind a funny to watch! :)
it is Pini
my kitty is curled up in my desk using my tensor lamp as his own personal heat lamp and pawing at my fingers as i try to type
maybe your kitty wants to type for you?
Poor guys been through so much in the last year..but he is doing somewhat better
kitty wants attention
indeed
I saw yesterday a cupcake cut in half to show the Cadbury cream egg baked into it! That's the first "treatment" of Cadbury cream eggs I've seen that might be worth doing. I'll have to remember it for next year! Both our cats have had second breakfast and are sleeping in tucked-away places.
AND - I just got the to7 - and it turned out to be my last word! Happy Easter all!
I saw cupcakes made with marshallow bunnies perched on top, green coconut flakes around the bunny for grass, was also cute
sounds like an edible goodie! congrats on finishing, hgk...happy holiday
Conrats Helen
oops Congrats
treats always sound good; too bad I have no one to make them for anymore :-/
and now for crossys daily bit of useless information...
On Feb. 18, 1855, French-Canadian cattle dealer Louis Remme deposited $12,500 in gold in the Sacramento branch of the Adams & Company bank. Shortly afterward he received word that Page, Bacon & Company of St. Louis, the largest financial company west of the Alleghenies, had failed. He returned to the bank but it had already liquidated, depleted by desperate depositors. So Remme jumped on a horse and rode 665 miles north in 143 hours, including 10 hours of sleep and brief stops for food. He arrived in Portland, Ore., on Feb. 26, went straight to the Adams & Company bank, presented his certificate of deposit, and withdrew the $12,500. He had beaten the steamer that carried news of the bank’s failure — and Portland had no telegraph.
very interesting, crossy!
i have been doing this daily for a while always good to learn a new tid-bit
That is interesting...we stand no chance today sadly
I'm impressed that he made it!
nope keep in mind that the average man earned 25 cents a day at that time
so he had incentive to get his $12,500 back lol
no kidding!
that was an extreme amount back then
indeed
going to check on the ham...bbl
i collect coins and have many examples from 1858 thru the turn of the century and love the feeling of history about it.holding the coins and wondering about all the men and women of the past who have spent this and how mych work was done to earn it
I do that with the coins I brought back from Europe (before the Euro)
i have a 1915 newfoundland 50 cent piece from before they joined the confederation and still made their own money and i think this coun was minted during the potato famine and was the wages of a man for an entire day
rather stunning when you think people back then only earned one coin or less per day for their work
imagine, everyone growing the same type of potato and a blight specific to that typw wipes out 955 of the crop...
95%
type*
<-- descendent of potato farmers
<-- fluent in typonese ;)
:))
small silver 5 cent coins with queen vic on the back..with all of her 3 chins lol
* giggle *
imagine she got mad cause the artists showed her chins and later coins were altered to remove them
some are actually graded by the number of chins showing
nothing like a little 'plastic surgery' ;)
lol..another useless bit of info lol
crossy know tons of things about million items of no importance whatsoever;0
back in a mo
:)
hello babblers
morning
howdy jes.T.O
I wonder how many horses that guy rode out on that trip. they're not really made for doing long distances at high speed...
hello jess hello crossy
no they are not..i would say the horse would of been more dead than alive at the end
he has to have switched horses several times, cross, or the horse would have been all the way dead.
the pony express used to have horse switching stations at regular intervals
modern endurance races usually run 50-150 miles.
and they don't "run" them at a run...
of course not,win the race but cripple the horse is no longer fasionable..and would be expensive to boot
see the movie hildalgo? good flick all bout that very thing
yeah, i like viggo... the movie had some not terribly realistic moments though
indeed, but i just chose not to dissect it and enjoyed the ride;)
crossy always roots for the underdog
heh. yeah, nice to be able to do that... i grew up watching movies with my da, and he'd point out that the model of pistol they were using wasn't made until 3 years after the movie was supposedly set,
or that they didn't pressurize railroad ties back then,
lol
everyones a critic lol
i may possibly have been slightly influenced by this...
if i am watching a civil war movie and catch an actor wearing his rolex i just make some popcorn lol
heheh
I love the war scene in Sparticus where the Jet shadow goes across the battlefield.
hehe
I wonder what Ancient Romans thought of Southwest Airlines?
this is why you just gotta go for fantasy and sci-fi; then you can write weirdnesses off as a subplot :)
lol..bilbo baggins caught wearing foster grants
must be a practical joke by gandalf, tha's all :)
really? I missed that in the movie
indeed jes
i just made that ip thats why ruru
I thought they did an admirable job on the Trilogy..
oh
* I am such a sucker*
though in the fugitive with harrison ford at the train wreck scene you can see just a peep of a lighting guy in 3 frames
it does help that the plot was good enough that i wasn't looking for flaws in the LOTR movies.
lotr was awsome
now, the star wars things... gah. i was SO bored in those movies that i was examinng alien dentition and trying to make sense of it...
crossy passed on star wars
stars wars is awful.. campy and awful
good choice on crossy's part
half way :)
yaa for jess!
i am very, very picky when it comes to movies
my next on the list the the kings speech and 128 hours
well, whatever you do, don't watch "Five Across the Eyes" total suck
not even going to look at the last harry potter movie till the second part is out
though my son is in agony lol
poor son. my mom is just gonna go watch it without me. i gave up on the movies several episodes ago... there's just no way to get the whole book into them.
i am half way through reading the searies for the first time and have seen all the movies but these last 2 and think they did a reasonable job on it
best they could, and the movies were very pretty, but there was a lot of cutting. i tend to not like movies made from books much anyway--back to the nitpicky thing from earlier.
so if i'm gonna do book/movie combo, i try to watch the movie first, then read the book.
interesting..i will not watch a movie unless i have read the book first as the movie will spoil the superior book for me by giving me thier take on the looks of the characters instead of my minds eye creating them first
but the movies miss so much of the book, in general, that there is still a ton to discover in the book even after seeing the movie.
this happen to me with harry potter..i ended up starting the series with the directors thoughts on what the character look like
I agree Crossy
i just get cranky at the movie for not making them match what i imagined :)
I think the most amazing book to made for TV movie was Stephen King's "The Stand" every single actor cast was perfect...except Molly Ringwold.
i never watched the tv series, molly
i have not seen the movie, but the unabridged book(with over 140 pages extra dealing with the trashcan man ) was excellent
i don't seem to have as much issue going from movie to book; if what i read disagrees with what the movie had, i just go with how it seems in my head while i read. the movie doesn't usually interfere
it's extremely rare that i like the movie more than the book anyway.
that what i mean jes,i prefer the books much more and do not want anyones notion on how everone looks like stuck in my head..but thats me;))
Bill Fagerbakke was born to play Tom Cullen. Ruby Dee was born to play Mother Abigail and Matt Frewer was born to play the trashcan man.
i may have to look the movie up
misery turned into a good movie also
the only movie i can think of off hand that i liked significantly more than the book was swiss family robinson
i looked up the book form of forrest gump..nasty book!
never read it, or watched the movie
the movie is well done
"To Kill A Mockingbird" comes to mind.....
tom hanks had a string of good one during that period..forest gump, philladelphia and that one where he gets marroned
marooned
i don't remember the movie of Mockingbird... I am sure I watched it for a class or something, but mostly I just remember the book.
Castaway
Wonderful book, wonderful movie
thats it pini ty
pappilion is a great book and movie writer is hennrie charrie (sp)
don't know it, crossy
I've seen Pappilion, not read the book tho...
Misery did turn into a good movie. I still can't believe Angelica Houston was originally offered the part of Annie Wilkes.
Kathy Bates did the better job, Molly....
book rocks pini!
wouldn't have been 'misery' if houston had played annie
I also agree about "To Kill A Mockingbird". That is a classic movie.
Angelica Houston can play "creepy" but not the kind of creepy that Annie Wilkes needed. Kathy Bates was more fit for the role.
Bates "looks" normal with a side of evil; Houston is the reverse...
Well put Pini.

hey prodigy!
Lurking fireworks - Happy Easter to all, Happy Babbling
hitchhickers guide was a wonderful book but the series was a tad strange
8
i just came from church
there is a movie called (here) the Recidivist with a young Kathy Bates, very strange
but unhappy Mets :(
which series, crossy? it was a radio series before it was books. and a tv series before it was movies.
and they were ALL a tad strange ;)
lol jes
got to go
delightful, but strange :)
i was comparing the book to the bbc tv series
i read an interview by douglas adams about the differences between radio/tv/book series
as did i,even that was funny
that was a tad strange too... something about the original idea occuring to him as he was lying drunk in a field staring at the stars
on French TV, sometimes they show American or British series but not necessarily in sequence! very frustrating
anyways power nap for crossy.bbl...ponk!
and then how characters in the book did totally different things, but for the same reasons as they'd had in the radio, and others did exactly the same things they'd done but for totally different reasons...
{{crossy}}
bye, crossy :)
pt clues please?

Hi, I'm new here aned never palyed this game. Any tips? Just read the directions. Confusing!
#ground control to Major Tom#
welcome, roberta!
* arm poised and ready *
Thanks.
way ahead of you pini
yeah LA!
roberta, try to find as many words as you can. you can go any direction, but can't use the same tile twice
Am I just supposd to make words>
you look for words in the grid up, down, backwards, forwards, at least 4-letter words, the words can also be around each other
It's like playing Boggle, Roberta...simply make words by connecting the letters in consecutive order
yep. remember to put them over in the box that says "Add Word:" not here :)
yes, leslie ann
you can
you can't use the same letter in the same word
hi again all! back from church, need to spend most of the day grading papers (so guess what I am doing instead...)
so, I did, the s. Can I delete the s? or rewrite toga?
you should have that word under "my word list" now, roberta
there are 147 words in this grid, so you have more to find :)
all words must be at least 4 letters long...you can plural anything, but remember to put words in the "add word" box...not here in the chog
the tile stats mean: how many words you have that start with that letter / how many words start with that letter total. so if your s says 1/10, it means you have one word that starts with s, out of 10 words that start with s total
Poor Sue. Grading papers seems like the never ending chore for you.
good for us to see her here; means she's not working 'too' hard! :)
Chog = Chat log. Not sure why, since it's the chatterbox. I would have thought chox, but it's not up to me.
haha. shorter prolly
finding words, Roberta?
chog = chat log shortened
starting to get the hang of it.
good!
yeah!
If you'd like a list that provides you with the first 2 letter of each word, their respetive lengths, and point values, open the following link in a new window: http://r46.me/BabbleClues.html
ok. got to 100. have to drive home from the family's house now. bbl
safe journey, LA
going to grab something for lunch - bbs
neverending indeed, molly!
bye, pini and leslie!
fireworks! anyone need clues?
yay, champ! nowhere close here :-)
Won't be long sue. Not too bad today.
i need help with the "s" in the lower right corner, i have se4/5 and se5/12
se6/21
beginning of a month
Try se4 and se5 = short for the 9th month and plural
i got those 2 champfit
se6/21 is appropriate for today (or any Sunday)
its an infection
hmmm...nope, don't understand, uusue2
sue, you're thinnking the other 6/21. There are 2.
One is an infection, and the other is for sundays
Same first 3 letters as the month...
none of the clues are working for me, champfit
ah, plural infections, i think
It is!
i have the 2 relating to the month!
the one I was talking about is a speech you might hear in church on sunday morning, jen
hi clue for mo7/8 please? and happy easter to those celebrating
collage and plural.
duh, uusue2!! okay, one more!
Are you still needing the infection Jen?

Yes TO

hmmm.. ty
*thinking*
Thinking hard for a clue...
oh heck i read that as college
ty
what are the first 2 letters champ?
and bye all
TO...you'll see a grouping of pictures, that blends into this word...
ty champ
Same as the month Jen. actually...follow that diagonal all the way to the top left corner.
how many words do you fols khave already?
oops,typos, sorry.
yw T.O. I have them all roberta...lemme know if you want a clue.
got it! i thougt that word had an is ending, not an es ending!
it's plural, jen
Apparently you can go either way. Click on the question mark and see the definition.
roberta, you won't believe how many typos are in here, and you can still read the message!
We just fill in the blanks. :)
lol. I FEEL BETTER NOW1
i bet you do! roberta
right side wiped out
Gotta run. Easter dinner at Mom's. Enjoy everyone...see you tomorrow!

Dr. God created and maintains Babble. He's currently working on an updated version - we're all looking forward to it (we've glimpsed parts in FB)
clear cookies, jen? (if you're on PC)
Pini, I just read your profile. Seeing the poem Native American Prayer, reminds me of a song sung by many people but my favorite to listen to is Libera. To hear them, go to youtube.com and search Libera, look for Going Home. It makes me cry.
now you are talking high teck, pinikula, forget it
thx for the suggestion, snags...will do!
sorry, Jen...that's my last resort, too...trust me, I have to be reminded as to where they even are!
anyone find words with the qu in them?
there's only one, jen
I found a few
hmmmm....
i found one
qu5/16

Going Home is very pretty!

Explain?

help with last se6/21 pls
Oh, what the numbers mean liek Jeff7 wrote 5/16 with another letter...
pINI, JUST READ YOUR PROFILE. What happened to Nancy Boy ?
or se6/12
Oh, like Peri's se6/21 = she's looking for a word that starts with se, is 6 letters long, and 21 points
hi, peri, only se6/21 I have is a talk you hear on sunday morning
Inge...Jesse passed away in late January :(
ty Pin, thought I had that one
S0rry ( missed it I was in the hospital from Jan 27 to mid Feb.
I'm sorry to hear that, Inge...are you better now? Wish the news on Jesse had been better (as do we all; he's sorely missed).
he is indeed, Pini
Did that explanation help, Roberta?
are you ok, now, inge?
roberta, there is also a link you can find words, www.morewords.com, you type in a few letters and it will find words for you
yes, thanks. think I'm on board now. What a nice community.
yes. I think I'm on board now. What a nice community.
Roberta, you can open the following link in a new window and get a list of those "codes" - the list will provide the first 2 letters of every word in the grid, their respective lengths and point values.
o we know what he died of? I am OK. Trouble walking.
Happy Easter, Everyone!
Inge, he died from complications related to his bout with malaria and subsequent kidney transplant and failure...
hi nef ;)
hi nef!, meet roberta, she is new!

Hi Roberta! (Sorry, was catching up on the chog; then entered chat in wrong box again)

how fitting moses is in the grid today
hi welki, uusue, Pini, Jen and all.
nevermind, sue .. readig profile
i did, welki, and she was alert at least some of the time. visited with my stepbrothers as well.
How sad I miss him too
oh uusue. I'm sorry (just read your profile too) (((uusue & family))
i'm glad you went and feel sad that your dad appears to be purposely left out of the loop by your steps
thx, nef, it has been quite a year so far!!!
and ... welcome to the loony bin, Roberta!!
* blink * moi? loony? naahhhhh LOL
and inge! I'm sorry you've been sick too! Are you better and stronger now?
* i just wear this straightjacket occasionally *
does anyone need a clue?
trust you have a new Easter straightjacket, Pini, for today - perhaps pink?
don't scare her, welki!
well, if it looks anything like my icon, i guess pink'll have to do for now...otherwise I prefer blue! :)
Nef, I fell down 12 steps. Tales a while to cure all those arthritic bones
*models her steampunk straight jacket*
and hi, all...
I always need a clue, welki! (although I suppose you meant for words in the grid :-)
welcome Roberta
holy cow, inge, don't do that! glad you are better now!!!
we'll have to wrap you up in bubble plastic, inge!
dang! INGE! Don't take the stairs anymore!!!
thanks
hi, java
* sending bubble wrap, cottonballs, extra down pillows, etc., to Inge *
long sleeves are always fashionable - and they hide a multitude of sins

OOOPS! Sorry!! Wrong box again. Off to penalty box for me (I hear it's full of Peeps and malted milk ball eggs anyway)
thanks Nef, my first word!
(((hugs and choclits for all))) taking a 5-minute break.
hi, stid! how are you feeling?
hi stid!
tired, sue. was up for a little bit this morning (about an hour) and had to go back to bed. *grump* I just hope I am better before tomorrow -- class is taking a field trip
oh, I hope so too! Where are you going?
"Junior Programs" not actually sure what the play is, but glad it's an afternoon show so we can spend the time afterward doing something like discussing it.
sounds like it should be fun!
I think it will. Not sure which students are going along... rather hoping some specific kids are not! *wicked teacher grin*
lol, get that!!
oh! and it looks like the reticent stidkid is back on for gradutation... *sigh* IF he does the amended assignment, that is!
ohg, good, that must make mama happy :-)
i need help with the next to the last "s" from the bottom; i need one more word! any weird words?
yes, it does. a high school diploma just makes things easier, I think.
sorry, jen, not enough words to be useful yet :-(
not listing yet Jen...
Any idea what the stats are on the one you are missing, Jen?
hey soodles!
no but i can tell you what i have
funny icon, btw
Hello ((Stid)). Hope your having a nice Easter/Spring break.
Is it the bottom right or left S your stuck on?
The next to the last s is su 4/5 and it's UU's name plural
Hey Moll :-)
in bed, tom made cinnamon rolls and about to take another nap I think... I am partway through the work I wanted to do this weekend. I won't finish, but I am under doctor Scrabs orders to make rest the higher priority. hope your day is better than mine?
Cute icon Soodle.
howdy molly
<---continues to be honored to be a Babble clue :-)
I got that icon in an Email and it made me laugh out loud.
firworks!
fireworks
just passed halfway... *yawn* wish it were easier to see words today.
YAY steve!
yay, steve!
i have sc 4/6, sc 5/14, sc 6/24, sc 5/14, sc 4/5 and sc5/12
and soodle, laughing out loud is good for the soul, I think
thanks all
Sorry to hear your under par, Stid. Yes, Easter was lovely here. All the chicks are home, so we had a lovely family day. (i.e., nobody fought with anybody, and we are all still speaking to each other!)
what's the matter stid?
i'm all messed up now
that's all the sc's I have, and that tile is dark for me
what about su words, how many of them are there?
i have 2
Only 2 su words. Both four letters
thx for all the sc words java! now my tile is gray too :-)
how about st words? i have one
sue, I was updated on your profile, but how was your visit with your stepmom?
finally, got the last s19/19...s's harnessed
it was good, wildcat, but sad to see her so ill
I'm sure. You think she's on her way out?
also good to see her sons, they were all happy to see me and glad that I had made the trip
Jen, there are 14 st's
that's wonderful.
i need one more s off of the 6/7
Sue, thats wonderful. I'm sure you are very glad you made the trip.
su4 x 2
I suspect so, wildcat, she's not eating and various organ systems are failing. she would have died a week ago if they hadn't ignored the DNR orders in her chart.
off of that s one of them is st
so sorry to hear that. has to be frustrating for your dad
sc 4 5 6 5 4 5
never mind, i foud it]
yes, wild, he is upset, but handling it well
good for him
so the left side and the right side of the grid are greyed out
It must be a difficult time all round.
for sure, soodle.
Glad to hear it was a nice Easter at Soodle Manor. It was nice here too. Between a fried chicken picnic lunch and the ham dinner, I don't need to eat for a week.
My grandson is here and napping; for some reason the Easter Bunny didn't come til just now (Sleepy Bunny!). So I guess we will have an Easter Egg hunt after he wakes..
Thanks Moll. Good to hear all well Chez MollyL as well. How old is the kiddie, Nef?
Nef, he saved the best for last. : P
he will be 2 on May 2nd. My daughter (his doting aunt!) went overboard; it looks like we have enough stuff for 5 kids!
hello everyone. Happy Easter to all
or toa all who celebrate it, sorry
sepsus
oops
Hey Bugs :-) Nef, it must be wonderful to have a 'fun-sized' person to share Easter with....
hi, bugs! very close!!
Happy Easter, everybody! I finished this last night but just wanted t say hello. Have to go to the library now and do my background job (cataloguing new magazine copies and deleting unwanted items). Bacl later to clue if needed.
thanks will keep trying then.... ;)
Nef, my sister did that one Easter. Her kids spent the night with me, and she left enough Easter candy for an army.
hi, jilli!
hello Jilli !
Sorry to see you're under the weather again, stid!
Hi bugs :-)
Hello Jilli, and a very happy Easter to you & yours :-)
Well, must dash -- cul8r!
My newly decorated sitting room has been feng shui'ed within an inch of its life... and I have to say it is very calming and serene.......
ooh, you should take a picture, soodle!
I actually have some 'before & after' pics, Sue. (I had to, for the insurance company). I will see if one of the offspring can put them on FB.
that would be neat :-)
HI and bye, jilli. (I was distracted by DH's Aunt for a bit). I love being a Gramma. Poor little guys' Mom has several mental problems and decided to spend the day alone. She always decides to sit out Holidays and then says we hate her
oh, dear, nef, situations like that are always so hard :-(
Oh heck, Nef. Thats tough.
Aw Nef, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter in law.
<-----Wants to see Soodle's sitting room. Then you can come feng shui my whole place.
oh yes, mine too! :=)
And if you open an account at dropshots.com or photobucket.com you can share photos anywhere. Like this...my Easter flowers...http://tinyurl.com/4259uf9
very pretty, molly!
Well, when I say feng shui'ed, I actually mean clean and fresh.....
works for me, soodle :-)
The Masai Warrior shields and spears which we got in Kenya some years ago, and which adorned the walls have now been binned, so a sitting room with no warrior stuff has to be better.......
you got rid of them? bummer, although I do understand the calming effect of not having weapons on display ..
Nope, Sue, my daughter, who obviously has Squirrel DNA retrieved them all from the dumpster, and has them all under her bed. She couldn't bear the thought of them being thrown out. Sheesh!
ah. A girl after my own heart :-)
crossy used to have ww2 bayonettes and defused german hand grenades on display at one time.place those babies next to some nice house plants and the juxaposition of life and carnage made for interesting party chit chat
Well Soodle, when you win the lottery and expand, you may want to have a "warrior room".
amazing how many wives troed to pull the grenade pins and toss them down their husbands pants....
But the feng shui, Crossy, the feng shui.........
tried
Nope, Moll. When I win the lottery I will buy the offspring their own houses, where they can hoard all the junk they want to!
Good plan Soodle.
agreed :-)
i see two easter/passover related words int he grid!
i have of late been fascinated my the japanese modern style of minimalist decor
grid? There's a grid? :-)
(((Cos))) How was your Easter/Birthday celebrations?
the food sucked but the waiter was cute
co6 and se6?
cos, is it your birthday??
and moses... 3 words now!

An sc5/14er
I have 3 co6 and 2 se6, molly
and I agree with you :-)
No, I was asking Cos if those were the Easter words he meant.
ah.
i agree molly i keep trying that too
the word without the s is legal, after all...
(the initial s, that is)
Cos, did you flirt with the waiter, or did you exercise restraint?
i had to behave :(
You will be rewarded in heaven!!!!!
or you now have extra flirts left for the last part of the month!
maybe my reward is th e waiter? lol
I'm not even going to go there...........
lol, cos! did you at least get his phone number?
my hubby would kill me if i did lol he was next to me haha
ah, well, then, you did have to behave :-)

Hi Stid, JMC and UUsue2

feeling better now squidgy?
trying not to, bugs, but have required paperwork for the college due Tuesday and knew I needed to get a good start on that this weekend. Other things have simply had to wait. Which is just as well, I change everything the night before I teach anyway!

I am so sorry stid. I was hoping that once you got into the classroom the nonsense stuff would disappear
yes, me too! but alas, there is always one more thing. However, as of the end of June 3, June 17 at the very latest I am done. One way or another.
You know I continue to hold you in my heart and wish you well no matter how long it takes!

just finished recording exam grades :-)
report card time uusue?
hello everyone -- just home from the golf course :)
Seems early for report cards--mid terms?
not exactly but I gave one of my classes an exam on the 15th, finally finished grading it
just two more weeks in the semester, then finals. Still have a lot of homework and in-class problems to grade, sigh.
and hi, nan!
I am envious Nan. We still have frost every night here. Spring is badly delayed
well -- this was my first day out and there is a lot of winter kill on the fairways this year.
now time to work out tomorrow's example problems (too embarrassing when I make mistakes...)

Short for dorothy + ***. Yes, one is in the do**** after many years. Not there yet.
plural for do 7.
and i will bid you all goodnight with this..
goodnight too crossy. Enjoy your dinner.
If we shadows have offended, Think but this and all is mended, That you have but slumber'd here While these visions did appear. And this weak and idle theme, No more yielding but a dream, Gentles, do not reprehend: If you pardon, we will mend. And, as I am an honest Puck, If we have unearned luck Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue, We will make amends ere long; Else the Puck a liar call: So, good night unto you all. Give me your hands, if we be friends, And Robin shall restore amends.
I'm gong to finish some little crochet work before I forget how to do it, jmc.

I don't want to watch tv and read the times when I'm in the car. whatever happened to creative ways of dealing with long drives--like singing every bit of 100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall?
ty une
happy easter
yw :-)
I listen to books on tape on long drives that is how i read bleak house
I agree Kaplan, there is nothing like singing along to the radio - not necessarily 100 bottles of beer, but singing. btw - that is what I do when I am along
alone
i sing as i drive some too
I couldn't play babble on the droid- couldn't see the grid at the same time as monkeying.
me too and it freaks out my dogs! LOL
I love books on tape in the car.
me too, molly -- right now I'm finishing up Bossypants :-)
I sing.
when i was sea sick off the coast of african i was singing hymns and the other passengers look at me like i was crazy--but they probably didn't know the same hymns
love tina fey
on the other hand i was one of the few not upchucking
I used to do books on tape going to and from work, but now my drive is only 7 minutes
I'll take singing over upchucking any day
oh god, I get seasick on an inflatable raft LOL
i rarely get seasick but as the boat was pulling out from the pier they started passing out upchuck bags
i'm never jealous of friends going on cruises . . .

Hi again everybody. Time to kick back and relax; company is gone and dishes are done! :-)
whoo hoooo UUU and prodigy
whooo hoo uu
hi Nef!
hi nef
whooo hooo young
i am a lawyer young
what happened to your connection uu
nef are you a female
WTG, uusue! YAY!!!
hi jmc,, lbd,and all. Yes young, I am a greandma too.
sorry grandma
what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dunno, jmc, the internet in my house has been wonky recently
how old are you sue
my son thinks we need a new router, he needs to reboot it every time he hooks his Xbox up to Netflix
hi, young, you can click on my profile - I am 59 :-)
and I teach physics at a university
and congratulations on finishing the puzzle, young!
(I remember now why I came back to the computer - need to check tomorrow's schedule, somehow my phone is not getting online properly)
a new router makes sense
how old is the one you have
oh dear, jmc, it is certainly not new. Probably of the order of 10 years or so.
lol then it is time!
I suppose so :-)
it is possible that it belongs to Comcast - the modem certainly does - but I don't think there's any reason we can't replace it ourselves
maybe you should ask them--they tout their service
true. I have been pretty happy with them.
A new router can cost as little as $40-50, and you can do it yourself. Even *I* can do that, uusue
lol, nef, I won't have any trouble installing it. Just hate spending money if I don't have to (but I suppose at some point I will have to...)
blech it was a beautiful spring day and i came home from meeting and feel asleep for 3 hours
you could upgrade to wifi uu
oh well. there will be more nice days, jmc, and you must have needed the sleep.
*fell
I have Comcast for the internet and phone; but the squirrels kept chewing through the TV cables, so we have Direct TV for that. Comcast service wasn't so great with the squirrel problems
yeah but now i am all groggy even though i have been up for several hours
it is a wifi modem, jmc, but the wireless part of it is a little feeble so I have my computer (and SO's) hardwired in. Son's computer and both our smartphones use the wireless.
how is direct tv? I would give my eyeteeth to get rid of comcast
then you really should break down if it is that weak uu
I have comcast for all three, nef, but the squirrels confine themselves to my lawn furniture and fruit trees for the most part.
yeah, I know. It mattered less when we had fewer devices connected to it (and I forgot to count the kid's Xbox, so that's six devices)
i have comcast for tv because i have no choice but i use something else that i can't remember with my foggy brain for phone and internet
clear that is who
Direct TV is a lot better picture than Comcast; much less problems with what I call Pixellating
i hope it doesn't rain so i can garden in the morning
oh i hate the pixellating
ah yes, we have been getting a lot of pixellations lately
but it is so cheap I hate to give it up...
my neighbors across the street had direct tv but i am not sure I can i know i cant get any other cable than comcast
maybe a new modem will help that too uu
well, direct tv is a satellite so you will need to have a place to put a dish that has an unobstructed view
everyone around here puts it in their attic
I had dish network a long time ago and it was fine but didn't have internet or phone with it
attic would work, probably, as long as no metal around
like foil on insultation?
if it's not between the satellite and the sky it shouldn't matter
but the installers should be able to tell you
well i think i will wait until all my construction on my new kitchen is done
oh that makes sense, jmc
i am trying to be logical so i cut down the trees in the back yard to get ready
now I am building some shelves to move stuff from the kitchen to temporarily
then I am renovating a closet in the gu*** room for me to use while I am booted from my bedroom during the reno
and throwing things away all while i am waiting for the permits
good planning, jmc. my house is suffering from an ex who liked to start projects but didn't finish them so I have three rooms that are torn apart but no more money to finish anything
well i had an architect friend who tore a hole in the wall of my bedroom 6 years ago to which is still there! lol
ha, I know how that is!
i try to do a little at a time so the cost is not too bad -- wait for sales and such
my living room pillows are all covered with remnants
indeed; mine is totally on hold at the moment as I am now paying college tuition, though
i have to pay for some summer school then I gu*** i will have to pay for my own tuition
ah; I'm paying for my son. My education is over, I think.
Formally, anyway.
the summer school is the last of my son's college then he is on his own
i keep thinking my education is over (never been good at school) but . . . .
then went back to law school
then i did an mba (which i didn't finish when the last semester was writing a resume)
now I am looking at a masters in conflict transformation
yes i remember you talking about the masters in conflict transformation, sounds really interesting. I considered law school at one point but went into academic administration instead (which ultimately didn't work out so now I am back in the department)
although I could have gone to law school here so it would have been free...
i don't recommend law school unless you really really want to be a lawyer
partly why I didn't go :-)
currently I don't recommend grad school... ((Hugs all))
<---insert lawyer jokes
*insert tennis elbow jokes* how are you ruru?
indeed, certainly not unless you really really want to be a graduate of whatever program you are attending, stid.
you feeling any better?
:) lol
that is the best you can do ru?
how's the cold stidder
oh... I have one jm... hang on
a bit better, thanks. the aleve has worked better at keeping me comfortable than the tylenol
okay surprise me and tell me one i haven't heard *yawn*
oh good, stid. Glad to hear it.
professional courtesy
<===predicting the punch line
heard one on the radio yesterday (NPR)
98% of lawyers give the other 2% a bad name.
ouch, sue!
cute not great
SO has a law degree...never passed the bar, though.
more subtle than mo**
a guy walks into a bar and seems extremely angry.. slams up to the bar and demands a beer...the bartender gives him one..he pounds it down and slams it on the bar and demands a second one.. the guy next to him is just staring at him.. the angry guy yells at the bartender..."gimmee another beer" the bartender carefully brings him one.. and he wolfs if down and slams it on the bar.. the guy next to him is still staring at him and the angy guys says"All lawyers are assholes.." and the guy next to him says.. I resent that!... the angry guy says.. "what are youan attorney?" ..no the guy next to him says blandly .. I'm an asshole..
what do you call a boat that can't pass the bar? *spontaneous joke*
rofl ruru!
answer: a shipwreck
grounded stiddie
i have not heard that one ru!
:-D yep, jmc!
:).. HA!!!!!
lawyer jokes are always real funny until you need one

a day of rest
I was wearing my Pirate Skull and Crossbones pants suspenders and no one got it.

O poor RU

what kind of headache uu?
what kind of headache uu?
my son dress up one halloween in a pirate outfit covered with floppy disks
well, two more weeks of classes, then finals, then I am done and can get some real rest. that will help.
I don't have a headache.. now I have a footache.. thanks stid
*steps on Stid's toes*

alright you guys go to your separate corners of the chog
They shall grow notold, as we that are left grow old,
lol, jmc, that must have been cute! and sorry for the confusion, ruru, I am the one with the headache. the kind that makes my head hurt, i guess, doesn't seem to be a migraine or anything.
*carefully wipes choclit off hands*
oh...that's okay herin..I do get headaches
some combination of stress and lack of sleep, presumably
ah a glass of warm brandy and milk before bed uu!
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn,
I am heading out again. eyes are tired and still want to look at a couple of things. *poof*
I don't have my glasses on too lazy
right now it is just me and the ibuprofen, already finished the brandy
lavender pillow and have the light come on gradually in your room inthe morning
night, stid!
At the going down of the sun and in the morning ,
but the chemicals in the milk help too
bye stiddie
We SHALL remember them.
light comes on gradually anyway as the sun comes up, if I can stay asleep that long.
and the lavender is calming
I salute the men and women of Australia and New Zealand who made the ultimate sacrifice.
I agree Splasher
anyway now I am going to hit the sack, see you all in the morning! I do have a little lavender eye pillow somewhere but don't know where.
I like headache drugs when I have bad headaches..skip the brandy
it sounds silly but the gradualness of the light has a big bearing on the start of the day
and thanks for the remembrance, splasher. Good for all of us to keep it in mind.
*poof*
bye uu
i usually have a jack when i have a headache unless i am at work
