         Fable of the Porcupine 
It was the coldest winter ever.  Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm.  This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions.  After awhile, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen.  So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth.  Wisely, they decided to go back to being together.  They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the close relationship with their companions in order to receive the warmth that came from the others. This way they were able to survive.  Moral of the story: The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities.  
The real moral of the story......LEARN TO LIVE WITH THE PRICKS IN YOUR LIFE.

Isla (eye-la) is my patient, and friends' daughter, with Down syndrome, heart defect, got into trouble while family was on vacation in Myrtle Beach, flown by copter to Duke on Apr 19, critically ill with heart failure and pneumonia, had 8 hr heart surgery on May 20.

Wow, 17 foot drifts in Rocky Mountain National Park. Not what I think of as Memorial Day weekend weather.
Hi, everyone--me, the lurker--Molly, the drifts are on Trail Ridge road, which usually opens on Memorial Day, but impossible this year--some are 23' deep. The road closes in Oct and usually opens on Mem. Day--the highest continuous automobile rd in the US--greetings from Colorado.
here in washington state we still have enough snow in the mountains for skiing....on ski area remains open for memorial day skiing--first time ever I think
I am not hearty enough for that kind of snow.
our ski hill has still got so much snow that they are worried they will not be able to open for a summer season. They open up as a mountain bike trail place.

I know sue -- a reason I don't seek out doctors' advice on anything not life-threatening right now. Just an MRI a year and a half ago put me on crutches (again) for 6 months...
I wish honestly I had this done back in march/april when it was first suggested, ah well.

stid, I am sorry to hear about your trouble - I had an MRI that was misread many years ago resulting in a year of pain while I tried to figure out what was wrong (since the mri report ruled out what turned out to be the actual problem)
mri is not as accurate as it might seem, mine also showed no labral tear, but I had one.
yep. I think I know what is wrong, but don't trust the docs to try anything right now, since I am ambulatory again and my garden needs me. I'll wait until I am immobilized and we have recovered from the grad school debacle.
well, this was more of a glaring error than an inaccuracy - when I finally got another doctor to look at the films he couldn't believe what they missed.

It seems that I'm allergic to the ar4/4 that I live in.What do I have to do to ea 4/4 a good night's sleep? I am a fe 6/27 & fe 4/7 that allergy season will be et 6/18 & will never end.I'd ra 4/4 this ye 4/6's allergy season the worsts Allergies get in the way of everything. For example, I went to Ko4/9 to buy some pants&I had to leave just after 5 minutes because I was coughing so much and my eyes became te 5/14. It is ra 4/4 for me to leave a store so soon because I love shopping. I hope that the end of allergy season is ne 4/4. Feeling miserable is not so ne 4/4.I wish there was an allergy re 7/28 I could goto to get rid of them.Hubby wants laptop. If I don't give it to him, he'll yell at me in a nasty to4/4.
