Would anyone happen to know why my Babble.exe file has stopped working this morning?
good morning everyone:)
Hi Crossy!
often temp files and cookies will bung up a exe file you are trying to open
use c cleaner weekly or if using google chrome, use it cookie and temp file cleaner daily
google has a incognito optuon which will avoid temp files and cookie build up as well
google chrome*

Oops that was the 4th row A

There really was a Captain Morgan. He was a Welsh pirate who later became the lieutenant governor of Jamaica.
I am so confused....A in the third column is the one that i need....is that the ah 5?
did he have a little captain in him? wait, that sounds wrong on so many levels....
lol
I love me some Captain Morgan! Actually, I did know he was real. Thanks to the History Channel!
hometown news: cicada flew in woman's window in church parking lot -- she screamed about being "attacked," jumped out of the car (leaving it running), and the car smashed into another vehicle in the parking lot -- LOLOL!!
hi, une! People can be pretty weird sometimes.
good LAWD une! glad she didn't panic.....
Oh my goodness une!!!! And Hello to you!
priceless!! LOL
good thing the car didn't run into anything other than another car!!!
would love to be a cicada on the wall during THAT insurance claim!
indeed, trif!!
that god cicada,s are unknown up here
these things only emerge every 13 yrs and people don't realize they're just a nuisance but not dangerous . . . sigh

OK, I need that third column a as well, for nbt

it is supposed to be 98 degrees and humid today so I want to get to work early...already 79 degrees at 7 am
We are supposed to have that weather on Thursday...the day of the kids' field day! UGH! I will be packing extra water and watermelon!
we are due for a sunny nice 75 f today
une, I can understand that - you can just imagine how the sixth grade boys were with the things (they just absolutely carpeted everything)
we are getting that weather later this week, I believe
sue, it's AWFUL here already -- heading to Whole Foods to box and load donated food -- will be a wilted wad of sweat!!
snap car!
Trif...are you free right now?
i am free every day -- it's in the constitution. Rawr! but yes
yes, sue -- sons of a friend of mine have been catching them and having cicada races!
Are you working?
yes, at 10
ok, gotta run -- BBL *poof*
Oh. Ok! Bye Une!
bye une!
must go coax bunny in...brb...

there is ALWAYS bascon
todays bacon is right from the farm,a lean peameal that is so fine and beautiful,it brings a tear to yer eye
I'm back! Bunny is very happy! New plan worked out great! And no, mom does not need a ride. I thought we could go to Bed and Bath.
tear to my arteries as well, unfortunately!
oh, okay car....sorry, I would have liked that
this stuff is very lean trif
primo is free all day, and he has a credit card, if that helps?
But of course! However, I doubt he wants to go shower curtain shopping with au4ie! Besides, we would have more fun together.
hmmm. we will find a time. how did the boys go at their games yesterday?
oh, and for the record, MY to do list for Primo today is to spread the 4 yards of sand I had delivered. he may well prefer shower curtain shopping!
Grammy and I need him for a project here as well one of these days.
The father went with the little one, so I only heard how great he did! Z did AWESOME!!!! And Jack had a stellar game!
will have to consider changing primo's name to schneider
LOL! OK Mrs. Romano!
crossy, you'd better be careful, I might actually show up one of these days :-)
door is always open, just give me 2 days notice so i can go to the farm for supplies
Good grief! I need the lower corner E for "reals" NBT!
lol, I would have to renew my passport first so you would have plenty of notice :-)
it had better be a big door, crossy! one of these days you are gonna have 500 babblers at your table!
misspell america's symbol bird, car
french for equal, car (if that's any help)
TY!
lol triff
It is amazing to me what letters my fingers type out when my brain is not fully functioning!

lol, car and trif, you should try Friendly Islands Airways some time (Tonga) - when I was there they had two airplanes, and if the king wanted to go anywhere (Tonga is still a kingdom) he took one of them!
not sure..was something i always dreamed of as a younger fella ;)
I love me some Tongans!
lol,the mrs is sitting beside me and laughing at it all
Good morning Mrs. Crossy!
and they are all brainy ladies too crossy, so double the luck!
yes, tell mrs. crossy she is very lucky, and she should take good care of you!!
she say good thing they are brainy,so you all can keep me in line
a warmest hello to mrs crossy! tell your dear one we are all crossy fans here!
I think Crossy should take care of Mrs. Crossy....she puts up with him spending so much time in BabbleLand!
it's a good thing YOU are brainy, crossy, as you are always fixing what breaks around here...from aways away
(Frank, my partner, just found out last night that his best boyhood friend had died in late April - he was a firefighter and Vietnam vet, and had heart problems - stick with the fantasy bacon!!!)
yes, uusue, I saw your message on FB...so sorry to read that news.
hi
so sorry for his loss and yours, uusue
do not worry, she is the apple of my eye,the cream in my tea,the butter on my bagel, the bacon in my pan;))
Sorry to hear Frank got bad news, Sue.
actually it sounds like mr and mrs crossy are very good at taking care of each other - very sweet to see :-)

(((Herin))), I LOVE your photo of the day!
Hi Mom
my condolences to frank,sue
Oh uusue! I am sorry to hear that. {{hugs to Frank and you}}
oooh, just found a rippin old 70s band...not enable accepted of course, but does bring back some cool memories
Hello Herin!
thx, all - they were just about the same age, and knew each other for over 50 years so it is pretty hard on him
LOL! I tried them too Trif!
Fo6?
here she comes.....
now "slow ride" is stuck in my head....
actually, Ralph (Frank's friend) is the reason Frank and I met the first time - Ralph had a cross country meet at my school and I was one of the course guides :-)
Hello everyone thought i'd pop in to say Hi.
Yup!

It's a world of laughter, a world of tears....
Depends, car -- GET IT????
Aww thanks as always for the warm welcome. Thanks the tiger is my animal guardian crossy's is the wolf. He misbehaves I either pounce on him or wack him with my paw.
*Plugs ears and sings LA LA LA very loudly as to not hear Car singing*
well, I am going to take a shower and grab a quick breakfast so I can get to work before it is too hot to walk there! bbl!
How does one find out what their animal guardian is?
tc sue
oh, gawd dammit car.....now THAT is stuck in my head!
good morning, Elegant
THis is the song that doesn't end...it just goes on and on my friends....
Bye uusue! Will check in with you later! {{hugs}}
STOP THAT NOW!
bye uusue - get out fast, before car gets some other vile tune going
Shot through the heart, and you're to blame...
Car, do a Google search on "power animal"
Look up Shamanism or animal totems.
bye bye uusue
I was just singing The Song That Doesn't End last night. But it was The Game That Doesn't End, regarding our Scrabble game.
LOL...I typed in animal totes by mistake! Anyone need a lovely bag?
I think that is the exact opposite of an animal totem Car. : D
Oooh...here's a good one...."I like mine with lettuce and tomato..."
Ooooooooooooooo that stupid song is stuck in my head for days
here is my amusing anecdote for today: Primo is getting his Eagle Scout rank at his Court of Honor on Friday night. Traditionally, Eagles' write to people they admire to request congratulations letters, which are then read out at the ceremony. Usually it's state senators, the president, people like that. Primo's list? Samuel L Jackson, the CEO of Coke, David Fincher, Edward Norton, Steve Jobs and Harrison Ford. LOVE that boy of mine!
If I'm going to sing Buffet, it's going to be "Fins"
oh, and Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day.....
Trif, I love Primos list
Congrats to Primo. Did they all answer?
Artistic kids definitely march to the beat of their own drum.
I know, right?
hello everyone :)
O I like that Trifs
((((Annie)))) good morning
very cool indeed trif!!
not as yet, mom....but we have until Friday. I did ask the president for one too, why not?
Hi Annie
All people that started pretty much at the bottom
absolutely, why not!
Great list!
I do hope he gets replies from all of them
Hello Annie!
I had to write to most of their publicists, and then who knows where they go
I don't think any of THEM will actually write back. some underling to an underling usual handles such things. but I don't care either.
if he is writing to steve jobs, get him to ask stevie to put flash in his mobile devices next round lol
Samuel L. Jackson tells a great story about playing golf with a group of ministers (who won a contest to play golf with him) and when one of their cell phones rang, , it was the Ezekiel speech from "Pulp Fiction"
ha ha!
Did you ask Travis if he knew any of them? He probably does!
nope. maybe I should have
do you think he knows the guy who wrote Fight Club? He was on the list too....
Probably knows someone who knows someone....like the Johnny Depp thing.
okay, I have to share this: the headline on my home page today is "Democrats react to Weiner scandal"
I have decided to work on the bathroom. (yes, you may all rejoice in my decision making commitment!) I would like to get 1 7-letter word before I go though. Stats please?
Democrats...weiners....tee heee....
an 7/28 = wierd compound word
Knights are described as ga7
ga 7/36 - how a knight acts
morning wv - is the first half a bug?
Snap Teach
yes trif - then think of another animal
An 7 clue please
Yes Trif. Second half is an animal
thanks Wvteach, and good moring
Teach and I are tag teaming this morning : D
*morning
((Molly)) good morning
TY!!!!! OK, bye for now!
yw
Hi Mom
wow, weird. I am off too - students await! much love to all
we are on the same wave length
bye bye Car.
byebye Trif
ugh, just looked at my schedule again - 10 to 4 with no break. sigh. who needs a lunch, I guess?
what kind of work do you do, Trif?
I am a clinician for kids with language issues, mom, specifically reading and math
that sounds neat
Time for me to start my day. (((Hugs))) to all of you and make it a great day!
most days it is great, other days, not so much, just like any job. when the kids are engaged and it's happening, there is no place I would rather be. on days when its 60 minutes of begging and behavior modification, I long for my days at home
bye mom
and I am off....
((Herin)) good night, pleasant dreams
bye
trif is lucky, imagine being to one to teach a child to read and being there when it all"clicks" with the pupil and watching them take off and begin to devour books as they discover they are the gateway to other countries,planets,people..i do not know the name or the face of the teacher who taught me to read, but she gave me a gift i can never repay with any coin
Loving the story about the guy who paid his "in dispute" $25.00 medical bill with 2500 pennies. He did ask if they accepted cash payment before he plunked his pennies down.
I was called away so didnt greet Mom, Molly, car., etal
I keep trying to put "thank" in...cannot stop
You'd have to check the currency act ... I heard at one time that the currency rules only required a retailer to accept 25 unwrapped pennies ... more than that and they just refuse it and you still haven't paid the bill ... ... but I always intended to payoff the final payment on my mortgage in pennies ...
howdy annie
Hi crossy :)
i do not bother with that,i do not care to sweat the small stuff and start micro wars anymore..i just pay the 25 dollars and deposit my coppers at the bank
what i HAVE done is at the bottom of the cheque in the space marked memo or note just put 'for sexual favours"
Hello buddies.
scwabby!
Hi Scrabbs,,,,,how is Isla?
mornin babblers
HI Evan :)
Much better, Annie! She is being weaned off sedative and narcotic meds so is crabby and sleepy, on a small amount of extra oxygen, is drinking and eating, but very weak and tired. But SOOO much better--she had some very frightening days.
Hi Eva. How is your father?
howdy eva
Scrabbs, Glad Isla is on the mend.
Crossy, at the store on Saturday the people in front of me at check out were buying filet mignon wrapped in bacon and guess who I thought of?
hehe
so-so, scrabs. the doctors basically say there isnt any ONE thing causing his decline. basically, it is bad nutrition, too much drinking, lack of any exercise (or movement, really) whatsoever. as for not being able to walk, they have diagnosed him with "neurological neuropathy from acute spinal arthritis" and are making plans to move him to a nursing home for rehab. how long he is there depends on him, more or less.
Every sight or mention of bacon makes me think fondly of Bacon Boy!
:)
i am sorry bout your da eva;(
So the advantage of that Eva, is that he will not be able to drink. And, yes, it is up to him. Does he want to get better?
i know he wants to BE better. the real question is if he wants to GET better.
my da had the same thing going 2 years ago, super heavy drinker, diabetic, his thiamin levels went for a dump on him and he was foind near death after a week or so of not eating and severe comfabulation..he was in hospital for over 3 months and half the time did not know his own kids
thanks, crossy. from what mom says, he at least sounds better. back to his old self, personality-wise at least.
He must take one day at a time towards healing of his body, mind and soul.
Scrabs, good news about the wee one. Eva, I hope your Dad takes this as his wake up call to get healthier.
My challenge now, nothing in comparison to a kid or parent being ill, is my little old bunny, Sebastian. I am contemplating euthanasia and I hate making this decision.
poor bunny:(
sadly, i doubt he will change his lifestyle that much. he has been in rehab a few times for drinking, and he has had 2 heart attacks. docs tell him to drop drinking, stop smoking, eat healthier + exercise more. he does it briefly, but then slips back into old habits.
more than ha4way - NBT and NBS - need to go out for the mjorning - BBL to finish
Skinny, weak, dribbling pee at times, but still able to hop around and still eating.
Good work, wv, enjoy the day.
near end of average life span scrabbs?
oh, scrabs, that is never an easy decision to have to make.
Poor Sebastian..hard decision but his best interests should prevail
as a doc,you know that when it becomes clear the the quality of life is not longer there, tough decisions must be made
Older than average life span--just turned 9--oldest bunny I have ever had. The most special bunny ever--until 18 mo ago he jumped in bed with me at bedtime and throughout the night. I would wake up and find him next to my head, or at my feet.
Oh, what a lovey
it is hard..poor bunny,poor scrabbs:(
My difficulty is that I am leaving on vacation June 18th (hiking Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion Natl Park) so I must either leave him at vet's office for care while I'm gone (stressful for him to not be at home) or have him euthanized before I leave. I am leaning towards the latter, but I hate that my vacation will dictate my decision.
Aw Scrabs, I'm sorry you have to make that decision about a pet that you love.
what a difficult decision Scrabs.
hello all
morning, peri
Twice daily I clean up his bottom, apply cream, give him medicine, and he is not happy about it. Yet, he is happy to get salad plates morning and evening.
aww, what a sweetie
He is so skinny--so much loss of muscle.
I am going through the same thing with my 15 year old Westie Scrabbs, fortunately my in laws are taking care of him while I am gone...didn't want to make that decision and then go on vacation
how long is your vacation Scrabbs
sounds like it is time;(
15, SS? Wow! We sure love our pets!
it is never an easy decision to make
mu cat is 15 and a half with kidney problems and pees outside the box but otherwise is ok
I agree, Crossy, and I think it is better to let him go peacefully rather than have a miserable week at the vet's while I am gone.
Scrabbs, It sounds as if Sebastian is at the end of his long life...ask yourself, could you leave him at the vet and worry about him as I know you would..no matter what decision you make it is very hard
He is like my 3rd child, this has been really hard on me, I keep nursing him but I know it is inevitable
I agree Scrabs and e may die at the vets without you near and that would be worse, imho
I told Sebby that he may move on, that he + I will be OK.
when it get to the point that you are keeping the bunny around just for you and the life he leads is no longer a good one,it is time
Yes, Peri, I agree.
*wiping tears from my eyes*
SS, what is your Westie's name?
Max
and you will enjoy your time away knowing bunny is at rest and not suffering in a strange place
((pet lovers))--illness, aging and injuries in our pets - tough times.
(max)
I can't go anywhere, I won't leave her at the vets and my family will not look after her :(
I feel as though I am just waiting for Sebastian to stop eating so that I know it is time, but that is probably too late--too much discomfort for him.
ty Scrabbs...will be thinking of you as you and Sebastian
please give him a hug and a kiss from me Scrabbs
I keep thing the same thing
*thinking
The end of our pet's life is inevitable, and I do hope they would peacefully fade away in their favorite hang-out, but that never happens.
It did for my 17 year on Himalayan Scrabbs
So, I am spending more time cuddling and snuggling him and will likely let him go in the next wk.
wise choice i think scrabby
So the cat was comfortable, SS?
i remember i had to make "the call" about my old cat. my parents had just had to have our old dog put down 2 weeks prior, and then our cat, who had never shown signs of even so much as a cold just got very, very, ill, and the vet said it was time. mom told me i had to decide, since she couldnt go through it again. its such a difficult decision to make. im so happy that you have some time to spend with him first.
Scrabbs, Deep inside you know it is the right thing to do for him
TY all for listening and providing advice and support.
I do believe she was
babble is unique in this way
Because he cannot jump up in bed with me anymore I lift him up and cuddle with him--he licks me.
And I give him his favorite treat: Cheerios. I tell my bunnies that wild bunnies do not eat Cheerios.
(or banana)
Scrabbs, you are bring tears to my eyes...you are a special owner (the best)
I give my bunnies wonderful lives--loose in their own rooms, salads twice daily, lots of love.
Max has developed severe allergies this past year and has a strict diet...but I have been giving him a few banana chips now and then...I figure what the hey
Yes, over the last few wks I say the same thing. What the heck, Sebastian, have your favorite treats.
bl
(((( Scrabbs and Sebastian))))
Well, I must get moving. I will go upstairs to care for Sebastian, then get on with my day. I will spend the afternoon with my late friend's kids.
love him, give him his treats in this last time together, then when it is time for him to go to his rest you can be happy knowung he felt nothing but love at then end and he in turn gave love back tenfold
Scrabbs, How are Mary"s children?
Yes, Crossy
Annie, they are doing well. John (just turned 7) bought a plant at school for Mother's Day and planted it at the base of Mary's memory tree in the front yard
Scrabbs, Time does move on quickly. John, seven, how old are the other children?
That's nice that they have the memory tree. My son just made a memory stone for his Dad.
The little one, 3, does not know who Mary was, just knows of this person in heaven. The oldest (10) is in counseling now due to concerns related to Mary's death--afraid she will forget what Mary looked like, the memories, etc. She is the only one with clear memories. John was 4 when Mary died and no longer has memories. He saw a pic of her with their Dad a few months ago and he asked who was that woman with Dad.
How old is your son, Molly? And when did your husband die?
Scrabbs, I feel for the 10 year old but she is getting help and will be okay. Very sad for all the children including Mary's husband.
(LOL, bunny Miss Beatrix Potter, my downstairs' bunny, is on the bottom shelf of the coffee table, staring at me)
My son is 19. His Dad (my ex) died in December of 2009.My husband died the following May. So my son lost his Dad and his Step Dad pretty close together.
Yes, he wakes up every morning without her and realizes that what happened was real.
Oh Molly, so sorry
Molly, that is a lot to cope with.
Scrabbs, I hope Mary's husband is going for help too.
Nope--very stoic, in-control physician.
I must get going now. TY, friends! Enjoy the day!
Scrabbs, IMHO, he should be receiving help also.
Scrabbs, Have a good day.
I agree, Annie, but he wants to "handle it on his own. It is what it is. Life must move on."
That is what he says.
hi again, all! Sorry to hear of the issues in everyone's lives - pets, husbands, fathers - it is always hard to lose someone we are close to! (and i include our animal someones in that)
Good morning, Babblers1
hi, judi!
Have had one eye on the chat while I've been bashing out words. Very sorry to hear about your bunny, Scrabs. The inevitable decision never gets any easier.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse /garrot
crossy hates enable sometimes
I thought that word was spelled with an "e" at the end. It's frustrating how this game breaks it's own rules. to4 is a proper noun, but hey, it's acceptable.
Crossy....where do I find the defrag on my computer?
start/all programs/accesories/system tools
disk clean forst,then defrag
first
Thank you! Will do!
defrag should be done at least once a month minimum
c cleaner dose a disk clean very well also
does
www.priform.com
and it gets rid of partial registry files
ka
because actually using the windows regedit takes practice
I am completely stuck. does anyone have a clue for the fa5/18 please.
it is not my fa5 if no one hasn't clued it yet
in california the fa5 line is a place you don't want to live on
everything is crossy's fa5
thanks. I was looking the wrong way.
if course it is....
of
cross, I had the same problem with garrot earlier. Darn enable. it is SO a word.
Red, when I looked it up, it had an "e" on the end.
Ahhh, well who knew...
SO close on alligator.
I didn't. : P That's why I looked it up.
*Overlooking Hursh's partial infraction*
and a phantom harlot, riding on a phantom alligator
good Tuesday, everyone :-))
Wow, a harlot riding a ga5 would be one tough broad.
lol, molly!
oooooops.... I didn't realize that ga5 was in there.... that could get me into PB, right ???
maybe, diane, is there something good in there? (like lots of ice - very hot here today!!!)
I see what you mean now by Hursh's partial infraction.... I did it too !!
Hi sue.... moderate here.... only 12 C ( about 54 F )
It's all good Diane. Enable thinks it's a Southerner today. In the South, it's ga5 dawlin'. *Makes Sue a lil' ole Mint Julep to cool her lovely self down*
isn't garroting something mobsters do? and wouldn't garrot therefore be a word? i'm confused.
garrot is indeed a word
I think it's a form of strangulation
just not as far as enable is concerned
garrotte - mobsters only do it when they're feeling Frenchish
yes, i remember luke and lorelai mentioning rope when discussing it
oh we need an E
sigh
or garote. But it needs a gratuitous e.
nice, diane! 93F here right now (34C), on its way up to 98. I am ready for that mint julep, molly, even if it is 11:30 am!
the U's and L's make me want ululate
and I agree about the e, hurshy; the one in the grid is almost (although not quite) useless.
98...insane:(
the u, i should say
crossy, I posted a protein folding article on your facebook :-)
here it is a beautiful 73f with sun and a nice breeze
I'm having a hard time with this. Too many phantoms, too little reality.
I am SO on my way, crossy!
the ladies are test firing their summer dresses;)
so let's talk 7's. i got an and ga.
I got nothin'! lol
3 ga 7s
there are three ga 7,s
there are three ga's, hursh, two of which are strange, but they all have the same 1st 4 letters
oh my. ok
Well, now I know where I'll be looking! Thanks, all.
ok i got a second one...
ga cashew
ga pismire
G + humphrey bogart in "african queen" :)
ga + a prison disturbance
the last of the disturbance, that is
ah, that makes sense now, BR :-)
not seeing the third ga7 or the an7
an7 - what do you get when you cross a small insect with a big cat?
ty vi
ga7 - what do you get when you cross a lass with a pecan? (and double the middle consonant)
really? ty
Hursh, great Bogart clue!
ka----
ka6./30 ??
u could not get the bogey clue..in african queen was he not Mr Orner?
i
all i can remember is all that good booze poured over the side;(
gariot
You want ga4 + last 2/3 of the prison riot, Yvo.
No Mr g/ a7/40
err. last 3/4
ka 6/30 -- first part of topeka's state + make a wish upon a s***
kantar
hi all
thx, BR!
that would be it, jmc :-)
oopsie! well i make a grand entrance into the pb!
so sorry, got it ,thank you, just dont know how i ended up in chat box.
*looks for the mint juleps*
And now I've got Acheson, Topeka and Santa Fe running through my head.
In the fridge, JMC
Hello, Yvo jmc, and Haz.
mmmmm nice and cold
Except that it should be Atchison, apparently.
Y'all gecha self a fan if you need more coolin' off dawlin
Hello, Vicuna and all other babble people.
i still dont get the 2/3 prison riot
hello evryone heat index 100 here
Acheson is Ben Gay's male child. : D
i have a fan but no ac in my office. the church just brought one up for my library
It's ga4 + last 3/4 of the prison riot
lol molly
Do you think the talk of Scotland becoming independent has substance, Haz?
I don't know, BabbleRabble. The talk is getting louder, that's for sure.
thanks vic but even with an extra letter to me a prison riot is . . . a prison riot
FREEDOM!!!! *Sorry, channeling William Wallace*
Then the Queen has to give back the stone
than use the last three, jmc
There has always been resentment in Scotland towards the English and lately resentment has begun to run both ways.
oh
ty BR i just assumed that there was another word
love your icon today BR--it's basically what my daddy always said
You're right, that would be the proper way to clue it, jmc. Only the clue was getting repeated and referred to, and it got mangled.
oh okay didn't mean to make a fuss just got confussled
Of course, if we were observing strict clueing rules, you'd not be giving away three letters.
The legal relationships of the UK countries takes a bit of study to understand
if enable is being southern it should allow larn--didn't it larn nothing?
hi, Yvo, we have the same weather (not surprising as we are not far apart :-)
there are rules?? where?? *contains excitment* i love rules!
That's true, BabbleRabble, because the Kingdom became united gradually and not always willingly.
its staying in time ,they say a couple of more days of this heat
thanks rabble for the ka clue
I have been told that England remains the big dog in the UK kennel
Thursday and Friday should be cooler, Yvo, in the meantime make sure you stay cool and hydrated!
Ah well, lunch is over and I'm off to do something useful. Thanks for clues, and farewell, all.
Certainly in terms of population etc, England wields the most influence and has probably the greatest affluence as well.
Bye, Vicuna.
Does Northern Ireland still experience religious squabbles that at times become violent?
fireworks - last word ul 6/27 - the amount by which the contents fall short of filling a container, as a cask or bottle
congrats, wvteach
I have to stress that squabbles are emphatically NOT about religion since those who are quarrelling have probably not seen the inside of a church for years. The religious labels are more indicative of past political views and whilst mostly things are calm, sometimes you get hotheads who haven't the wit they were born with.
ul 6/27 - last 3/4 of hu 4/6 + how old you are
congrats wv and thks for clue
Thanks for the clarification, Haz
If Catholics and Protestants are in disagreement, it's more to do with nationalist aspirations on the one side versus loyalist feelings on the other.
Theology definitely doesn't come into it.
thx, wv, and congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As close as the numbers are, I am surprised Northern Ireland exists.
Well, it was a half-way house and a compromise in 1920. It used to be 70/30 but is becoming more like 60/40.
<--- believes some of her ancestors came from Northern Ireland
Thanks for enlightening me, Haz
I love this country dearly. We've had some horrible times but I think the Irish president said it very well when she spoke of choosing to make the future better.
I wish you well in your endeavor
<---- Knows hers came from County Kerry
BabbleRabble, I do think it has to come from every individual being determined not to carry on the bad stuff. My political views have changed markedly over the past 30 years, mainly because I've realised the cost of holding onto resentment and bitterness.
Frankly, I wish more in the U.S. would choose to make the future better ... good for you, Haz .... we need some introspection as well.
We're always praised for being hospitable and kind to visitors - some of us now have to learn to be kind to each other!
this is a good thing, haz - may more of us learn it before it is too late!
Absolutely. The problem is that the Irish, like elephants, have remarkably long memories. We need to develop selective amnesia.
I don't think this is peculiar to the Irish; most of the long-term conflicts in the world could do with a large dose of amnesia.
Politics - the quest for power - has little to do with what is best for constituents.
amen, unfortunately
I like to think that there are some politicians who at least begin their political careers with some thought of helping their community.
Hello, Dorens.
good afternoon everyone
I like to think that too, haz, but the pressures of getting elected and then re-elected seem to fuzzle the thinking of many of them
and hi, dorens and mom!
Hello Haz. And I like to think that too, but it's increasingly difficult here. It seems that our politicians are more and more in a position of purchasing their constituents, and lobbyists have far too much influence Hi mom!
and hi sue too!
hello uusue
Hello Dorens, Haz, and Babble Rabble, nice to see you all again
I get the impression that money plays a much bigger role in US politics than it should. The whole presidential race is astonishing - I know it's not at that level all over but still.
Hello, Mom.
Your son and new daughter-in-law look very happy. Congratulations!
I do not think I have ever been more cynical about our leaders than I am right now ... apathy or zealotry
Thank you, Haz.
Yes, and then remember how George Bush stole the election in the first place. Horrible. I think our electoral process really needs revamping. democracy? doesn't seem like it
Yours is right around the corner!
Oh Mom, the wedding was this past weekend? How wonderful.... all went well?
8 weeks 4 days. Not that anyone is counting.
It was beautiful. Everyone had a great time. The rain held off until 10:30 p.m.
Will it be a big wedding haz?
Oh that's wonderful Mom, glad to hear it.
not long at all, and of course you are not counting
oh me too, Doren, me too
At the prices the hotel is charging, far too big... I'm just doing the invitations, we're inviting up to 100, but the reality will be closer to 80.
that is a nice size, Haz
sorry, have to get back to work... nice to see you all
We've often laughed at the Steve Martin character in Father of the Bride where he stresses about inviting people he's never heard of and rejoices when people can't come. We're feeling more and more sympathy for him.
we had 14, and it was outdoors.
nice to see you as well ((Dorens))
bye, dorens!
and lol, haz! 14 sounds like a good size to me, mom!
it was just parents, grandparents and siblings
oh and the siblings dates
I can't imagine doing a wedding today with what things cost.
Tradition here is that you have tea/coffee shortbread after church service, and then full evening meal served around 5 with more food provided at 10, just in case we're feeling peckish.
are they marrying in the morning, Haz?
sounds like a lot of food. :-)
12.30 in the afternoon. Apparently it takes hours to have photographs taken.
We love food!
:-)
so you will need a hat... have you gotten it already?
I do.
*Not supposed to tell, but Haz bought Princess Beatrice's hat at the auction* : D
good for you, Haz.
Well it is not wonder that Haz is fretting about the cost of the hotel after spending all that money for the hat
£80,000. For a hat.
Okay, must get tea ready. Enjoy the grid!
bye Haz, so good to see you
bye, haz!
time for me to go do the ironing. ((Hugs)) to all of you
waiting for my board chair to call :-((

okay, that's me with NBT and halfway. back tonight if I can stay awake. I have been overly sleepy the last few days, I think it's the let-down from not having deadlines.
(((jmc))) be well. you are in my heart.
ooh, nice, kazz!!! I was thinking I would have to work until 70 but have been running the numbers and might be able to retire somewhere between 63 and 65.

Congratulations hego!!!! Well done!
Good nite Glantarell!
wow, 3 Welsh phrases!!
hello sue
Hiya Ruby
howdy everyone,back for a few more...i hope:)
You're up late.
{{crossy}}
((RUBY))
Ruby, not Crossy.
rough day
Hi Crossy! Ty for your help today.
hi, crossy!
np at all car
ruby, is hubby ok?
Are you okay Ruby?
howdy sue:)
Oh sorry to hear that Ruby.
he's doing his Dr Jekyll/Mr. Hyde impersonation today.
Oh bother.
oh, dear :-(
Poor Ruby
but I'm OK, just makes it difficult
My hubby is home also
give him 2 of crossys long island iced teas and he will go nappies
He had foot surgery, so we're imprisoned here.
he's sleeping like baby and I'm having lemonade and cold pizza, not so bad
He's cranky also.
can he get around, hego?
thank you Percocet. lol
men are a pain in the butt when they are ailing, aren't they, hego?
except for crossy, I am sure :-)
He's in a wheelchair, Ruby
pardon?
ahem... i am a rock i feed on pain...lol
I'm thinking more in terms of rohypnol or prozac!
Yeah, right Crossy
do you have stairs in your house?
but croosy will not turn down a oxycocet lol
<-- loves crossy
Our master suite is on the first floor.
So it's not too bad.
We all love Crossy.
that's either luck or good planning; our house is on 3 levels and falling has become a big problem for husband
But we don't live with him.
I'm sorry to hear that Ruby.
he keeps falling but says that I'm the one who falls all the time. Hard to argue with that!
well, you could always just agree with him, Ruby! that might quiet him down for a minute.
Our complex is a retirement community so that is taken into consideration
today I thught he was going to shoot me with his BB gun as he was after his nemesis, the heron who eats his fish and I gave a mild suggestion....
Uh oh
it got a little scary, but he calmed down when I made him uncock the gun
Cheez, Ruby!
Can you "lose" the BBs?
take your nail file when he is sleeping, open the breech and file down the firing pin..he does not need to be playing with a thing like that at his age..chasing herons...good grief
how much damage could he do to me with a bb?
good idea
It hurts, though
a lot if it hits you in the eye or something, ruby
I've never handled a gun, would probably shoot myself in the foot
I like herons, actually
i wouldn't know a firing pin if i saw one
hi all
Me neither
neither would I, I'm afraid, I feel like such a wimp
hi JMC
just file the pin down..or if it is a compressed air type, push a pin therough the gasked that seals the air in the pressure cannister
gasket
and this heron is gorgeous and bold. He's grey with blue and white shoulders and enormous
hi, jmc!
too complex
it is thrilling to see him in the garden
why does that make you feel like a wimp? don't be hard on yourself see who all said that they didn't know
oh..wish i was there to help you ruby
wing span must exceed 4 ft
sounds like a gorgeous bird, ruby!
is there a animal protection league that could come out and help?
Wow! i wish I could see him
we have a very animal-friendly garden -- no pesticides, lots of different fruit and flowers, a basin/fountain with goldfish and a tournesol feeder for the little birds
plus two very sweet dogs who consider the whole thing dog TV
I'm afraid they'll deport us
You must have the garden whipped into shape by now, Ruby
lol, ruby!
Ruby watches the little birds for hours, while protecting the house, of course
i got it ruby, there is a sight at the end of the barrel, just get a pair of pliers and bend that sight ever so slightly to the left..he will not be able to hit anythig with it:))
it is beautiful right now, even with the drought (not over). Full of flowers -- 9 or 10 different kinds of roses, spriea, pellargonium, geraniums, impatiens, campanile, all pink, rose, red, violet , blue and white
here's a link about protecting your pond from herons, ruby; it's from Geneva so relatively local: http://www.meetup.com/GenevaPond/messa ges/boards/thread/861842?thread=861842
I remeber when you were just beginning
good idea sue
and the day lilies started today, even though they don't match, they were here when we bought the house, one of the few things
sallycats from England put me onto pond nets which worked for a year but husband doesn't like cleaning them
Time to get dinner. G'nite all.
night, hego!
he wants zero input from me now, says what do I know about ponds, after all I'm from NY
bye hego, it was lovely to see you, I'll have to play this late more often. I hope your husband recovers quickly
one of the suggestions in this article is fish line about 30 cm above the pond surface, ruby, not enough to be able to see, really, but enough to confuse the birds
he thinks there are no ponds in NY??
the nets worked perfectly and I put an antique bronz heron from Japan on the rim of the pond whichhelped, too
caution with that sure..you may end up with a tangled up heron
he knows I'm a city girl and that this is my first garden
hi all....
howdy red
that happened with me the first year we had cherries. We put a net over the tree and the birds got under it and I had to get them disentangled
hi red
here's what they say: We've seen the pond of one member of our club which incorporates a similar principle, but without using tall plants. She stretches fine clear nylon fishing line in a zig-zag pattern across her pond, about 30 centimeters above the water surface. This almost invisible grid even keeps birds from wading through the pond, let alone spreading their wings to fly off with her koi. Other ponds keep the birds out by having the fishing line stretched just outside their perimeters, also about 30 centimeters above the ground. Birds landing nearby try to walk into the pond, but are confused and stopped by this simple barrier, so they fly off to find a more accessible pond.
we have never had this problem as we welcome our blue herons and we have a large bay close by
and hi, red!
I am always rescuing errant birds in the house because we keep it open all day
I think with 64 words, I have found al the regular ones...
sue, I think you'll have to come over to tell him about it, because hearing it from me won't work
it will not take FogHat
the biggest one was a beautiful hawk which I carried out by the shoulders, magnificent creature
We were discussing that this morning Red. You may now feel free to sing a chorus or two of "Slow Ride"
I'll be right there, ruby! :-)
Thanks Molly.
ty molly, that will be tonight's ear worm
*Remembers the poor capon who didn't get "rescued"*
I think you would sort him out posthaste!
fqult
not in the grid ruby I swear it.
sorry, I'm getting punchy is there hot milk in the PB?
you dont get PB for that, but sure...
Dinner was a success! Who knew I could heat up such awesome pasta & meatballs! I rock!
oh wow i want.
yaa for car and her meatballs!
I'' share my leftover pizza....
I'll
I would love for someone to bring me a dinner.
On the way, Red!
tonight i am doing home made burgers on the bbq using my secret sauce and hickory charcoal chunks
I now have to do my work. Spent all day painting instead of typing!
God Crossy...that sounds delish!
how is the running going, red, I haven't seen you for a long time?
nice salad with it and life is good
everybody else's food sounds good and our local restos are awful
I had salad with mine too, and measured out my pasta.
good for you, car!!!
I did REALLY well today uusue! I busted my butt with the painting and was right on track with my eating...even kept my food log!
No running Ruby, I had hip surgery about a week and a half ago.
yay, car!!!!!
everybody in Europe has stopped eating salad and raw vegetables until they sort out this nasty e-coli thing. There are still 100's of people in intensive care in various places
Oh Red!
Salad, YUM1 I am craving fresh grown tomatoes.
I heard about that Ruby.
oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Will you be able to run every again?
that is awful ruby.
oh, ruby, that must be so scary!
uusue....remember I was saying how your hot weather was due on Thursday just in time for field day at school?
I will only eat fruit and veggetable that I grow unless it's something I cook to death
yep.
Hopefully By September or November. on the runnign that is. we will know then if it was successful.
(that was to car)
Well, the school sent out a call and email...they have postponed field day until Monday due to the extreme weather!!!! The school does the right thing! Hallelujah!
come September we'll all be rooting for you, Red! I know how much I miss my running days
hooray for car's school!!!!!
thats great car...
we are still beastly hot here, today and tomorrow, then it is supposed to cool off
Right now Ruby I have to admit, I will be happy to be able to walk possibly without pain soon....in a wekk or two I hear.
<---- another former runner
our weather continues to be perfect. This is by far the best place I've every lived
That is it! We need Babble Air and pronto! We need to head over to Crossy's and pick up dinner to fly it down to Red and keep Red company while the hip heals. And we need to pick up Ruby and get her out of France for a bit, at least to have a big (safe) salad!
i bitch about the winters, but somedays it is good to be up here...75 and sunny with a breeze;))))
oh, that's great, red! You must really be looking forward to that!
and to get away from Mr. Hyde
I could use some company. though people have irritated me today.
What car said!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I assume all seats on Babble Air are first class
OK, I'm starting to save my euro cents.....
Of course!!!!
with little chocolates on the seats like a turn down.
when we fly over there i could get mr hyde orginized for you lol
All right, while I do my work, I will call John Travolta and see if he can get the jet fired up! I love you all dearly and wish you peace, health and happiness! {{hugs}}
go for it, car! :-)
<--- Knew Travolta was holding out for the right gig
big hugs fro car. will try to go to sleep now. My sister sent me a really boring book "Swallow" about removed foreignbodies from bronchial and esophagial tracts. It is incrdibly boiring
All seats are first class, top notch stewards, free movies (first run of course), and free nips!
Midwest Air used to cook fresh chocolate chip cookies on board (and their planes were all first class, at coach prices) - very nice but that was many years ago
night, ruby!
Oh good Lord Ruby! Put it down!
*Makes a note to have cookie bakers installed in Babble 1*
Good nite Ruby!
And good-bye everyone...for reals!
gotta have those unlimited hot towels too!!!
bye, car!
ruby get a better book, your sister is crazy!!
my sister is a little bit strange. She sent it in April and it arrived two days ago. I think the mail got bored with it, too
lol, ruby!!
the carriers probably kep falling asleep. It's like Woody Allen's story about when he got kidnapped and his father kept falling asleep reading the ransom note....

we just got our landlords to put another ac in the library on our floor but i just have fans in my office
the ac is on high here, I could probably get by with fans tho
i am okay with the fans--it is all i have at my house for most of the house
but some cold champagne would make things better!

*Places icy cold champagne bucket on JMC's desk*

*Places one in front of Peri too*

so, since it is the hottest day of the year so far, my son decided it would be a great day to go for a really long bicycle ride. Sigh.
has he passed out from heat exhaustion?
Fortunately his GF called him not too long after he left and he went to hang with her instead...
good choice son
maybe he will be more sensible once he hits 25 - or 30...
how about the stats for the E
It's the y-chromosome at work Sue. It's what makes them defective. We all start out female. I'm convinced it's the y-chromosome that "alters" them. : P
nm
I agree, molly!

I am hating that red robin advertises here but is not present in the area....
<----- Loves Red Robin
As addicted as I am to watching the Casey Anthony trial - I am amazed it took me so long to find the li 4/4...
She is pathological, isn't she?
for sure.... how awful to be her parents and nw realize what a monster you raised...
now realize that is...
I did some research on pathological liars when I was an undergraduate Psych major. They are morbidly fascinating. And they think the webs they weave are so deceptive, but they always trip themselves up.
hi all, ga6/24 pls
Fascinating I'm sure - wish I knew more about such things. So - do you believe the abuse accusation? Some say she exhibits classic abused child behaviors - I don't know but again - no idea there - other thansomebeliefs and personal exposures to abused people
Hi all:) Molly, I was married to a pathological liar(( Notice 'WAS':)
Hi
ga 6/14 = girl + civil disobedience is a r***
Bless you Heron, glad that is behind you. They are soul vampires.
ty but I need ga6/24 pls
sorry, meant 6/24 not 14
Cad, I think Anthony's defense team is pulling out all the stops to ensure a "not guilty by reason of insanity plea". Hard to tell if the abuse allegations are true or fabricated.
They are aren't they?
My ex is a b.s artist but the thing is I always knew he was full of sh##
Sounds like B***** Von Trapp Luv
thanks Molly, I was clueing it for peri
2nd ga6/24 is what I need, sorry
People who lie all the time, always trip themselves up. They can't keep up with their lies. Alas, the internet has become a playground for such folks.
I clued the second ga 6/24
The stupid thing is most people leave digital traces and it isn't hard pull them up
don't get your clue, Molly
The other is when people say ''I was on the 6am flight to London'' when you can easily go to the airline websites and see that there is no 6am flight from home to london
Nm, just got your clue, Molly, ty
My feeling too Molly -
ga 6/24 ga + double cons. + not off
ty Luv
Then there are the people who make up mythological lives on the internet, but can't successfully spin those tales. They are easy to spot because they never use their real names or locations.
They're also easily traced using their ISP number
hi again, all! I am home! (Really!!!)
I tend to just leave out important details. You can't even google my name or email and find me
ka6 pls
I am pretty much just the opposite - easy to find (at least I think I am)
Hi Sue
ka 6 sounds like aluminum storage for food + black sticky stuff on roads
Me too uusue - working at the University puts us right out there
ty Luv, new word for me
My husband had this guy on one of his message boards, pretending to be happily married, so he would be "safe" for all the ladies. Of course, he started hitting on them. Turned out he was a middle aged guy who still lived with his Mom.
creeeeepy
yw peri
well, here is today's excitement in my home town: http://dekalbcountyonline.com/2011/06/ 07/stuck-truck/
Believe me, after helping my husband maintain some of those boards, I've seen it all when it comes to internet creeps.
Molly you sure you are not talking about my ex?
and hi, herin, molly, luv, peri, cadfan
Scary to say Herin, but it could have been. Once they get found out one place, they commence stalking somewhere else.
My ex still lives with his mum and full of crap.
hi sue
if you can't see the photo (in the link) - downtown here is at the crossroads of two state highways; right where they cross there are railroad tracks that cross diagonally, and there is a truck stuck on the tracks.
these are busy tracks, we get about 40 trains/day (all freight)
And he has no excuse in living at home. I have one friend that has a ligit reason to live at home and he is in his late 30's, brain injury means he can't live alone as he just forgets things sometimes
<--- also has an ex who is a pathological liar
Sue with that truck I would so want to recaption that as ''just put that any were''
lol, herin! I didn't walk by it on my way home (figured they didn't need any more onlookers) but things will be a mess for a while I am sure!
What sort of truck?
I mean what was it carrying?
Pathological liars get pretty easy to spot, once you know their pattern. They all have a "sympathy hook". Disease, abuse, addiction, etc. And then, they become expert at telling people what they want to hear. I call that the "charm hook". They usually have people totally infatuated with them, right before they get exposed for the lying liars they are.
Hello...yet again!
dunno, herin, looks like some kind of tanker? or maybe not, looks more like some very large cylindrical piece of something that hasn't been put together yet - it's an oversize load
hi again, car!
Hi Car
I was thinking Beeeeer would be a good spill.
Hi Car
:) Bud Light here - but I'm not spilling any
Cad that is not beer
Spilling beer is against my religion.
it would, herin! but it doesn't look like anything spilled out of the truck
al 5/12 please?

Pout. I was thinking Homer Simpson moment
I need it too Peri....
My sister is finally coming home from her tour of Afghanistan. So happy

Hi minver and all. Just starting but finding lots of words. Like picking up pennies at the beach (in a dream.)
Hello Gran Mere, how are you this evening?
Hi stdgmere! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
Hello MollyL! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.

Mine too - it's my dog's name!
Hello CadFan!How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
That is a great dog name! Will have to remember that.
haha CadFan great name! Our pomeranian is called Swiffer
My dogs names are Marco and Polo, they are bichons
I would never be able to call just one of them, bichon :-)
Hello everyone.. I'm back with 33 to go. Kahlua is a mini daschund - . she's kind of Kahlua and cream color
My dog's name is Jack: pretty boring & pretty normal
and now for crossy,s tidbit of the day!!
John Harvard was not the founder of Harvard University. It was first known as Cambridge University, and was established in 1636 by the Massachusetts Bay Colony. It was only after the young Puritan minister passed away in 1638, leaving much of his estate to the institution, that the school was renamed for him.
We once has dogs... Bob and Marley...
I don't. Besides, they don't care what name I call them
Hi crosshair! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid
that's cute. When we got them, I looked for paired names on a web site
My parents had two golden retrievers.I thought that they should have been named Dumb and Dumber.
LOL
Goldens are relatively smart dogs. Bichons were put on this earth just to sit in your lap and relieve stress
I've found a to 5/10 of 110 words so here's a story of clues to help you hu 4/5 for some more words. My Au 4/5 introduced me to Babble and I have been hooked ever since.I can't be a li4/4 and say I'm not addicted to Babble, because I am. I like to to4/4 with the grid every day. Husband wishes babbling was not leg4/6. However, I fa 4/7 to see what is wrong with fi4/7ing my free time with Babble. I will not fa4/7 for his guilt trips. It is not my fa5/18 that I'm addicted to Babble. I fl 4/7 out refuse to give it up&asking me to do so is a very ta 4/4 order. I told hubby that he knew about my addiction when we got married at the al 5/10 and that it was a very huge part of my li4/7. My babbling puts him in a ra4/6. My husband tries to fo4/7 every attempt I make at babbling. When that doesn't work he starts ra4/4ing and raving. I'm going to go sweep the ha4/5way. I have to ha4/5 babbling for now, but I will be back in chog in a ha4/8 hour.Later ga 5/14s!
ty, minver

Hi jmcnrick! How are you doing? Welcome to the grid.

hello, crossy and jmc
hi dc
hows the baby sitting racket
going well, she's even started responding in Spanish sometimes :) I guess it helps that i've explained that i'd prefer that, and her parents will have trouble understanding if she does that :)
(i can have a bit of a mean and/or conspiratorial streak)
so it would seem hahaha
she's going through a growth spurt, so hurting some and eating tons at the moment.
she was introduced to tuna salad with wasabi mayonaise today. She found it too spicy each time, but kept asking for more now and again and ate a good bit of matzo after each bite LOL
some kids like spicy because no one told them that they shoudn't
well, when she eats what i make for myself, it's always much spicier than the food her parents make, so she's learned to expect it from me.
